This was recommended by a colleague as we work away alot. Well omg! Honestly think it’s the best meal I’ve ever had. I ordered 2 sides and 2 tapas. Far too much food but they bagged it up and I plan on having the rest tomorrow! I had the jalapeño potato skins, a pulled beef with cheese, potatoes with a cheese sauce and the black pudding and chorizo. Honestly cannot fault at all. Only downside is I live 3 hours away but honestly think it’s worth the drive!

The most popular place in Darlington. Cosy inside and a nice big summer terrace. Parking is close. Tasty, fresh and served quickly, but for me the feta cheese in the aubergine rolls gave too much salt. I would prefer mozzarella or another kind of cheese.

Visited here Friday for drinks and food. The restaurant is in the prime location of Darlington's town and was such a good find. We managed to get a last minute booking and were grateful the restaurant accommodated this. There was ample outside seating for a casual drink and we were sat upstairs in the dining area. The menu was incredible and split between Spanish and Greek dishes. You are given a checklist and pencil to mark down the dishes you want and quantity. We had 5 between us and left feeling full. Highly recommend the calamari and there was ample of it. The service was quick and friendly. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food. They also had a band downstairs and people were dancing as we walked out. So pleased I got to experience this venue whilst in Darlington.

This place is celebrating 30 years of being here. It's always been popular, whether your having a meal or just drinks. It's an extensive menu of Greek and Spanish food, portion sizes are good, so don't over order as the bill can mount up. If you do over order, the staff are happy to bag it up to take away.

Fantastic Italian restaurant using high-quality ingredients. Loved the cheesy garlic bread for a starter. Their pizza selection is huge so you have plenty to choose from. All of our choices tasted nice. They did put a little pressure on us after we finished eating because they were set to close which was the only downside.

Great Pizza! My friend and I had a great meal he's been to quite a lot of Neapolitan Pizza places (Particularly around Leeds area) and he puts stable hearth right up there! The nduja piggy pot sharer is a highlight as well! Ive been twice now to this place, coincidentally I'm moving to this town soon so I plan to come again. Even of it's just for take out! The Chips are Also some of the best I've had too!

I pride myself in being a pizza connoisseur and this place ticks all the boxes of a great pizza. Dough, base sauce and toppings that actually make sense and should be on a pizza. 10/10 The rustic look Friendly staff Clean toilets (which most eateries in Darlington fall short of sometimes)

A very successful bottomless brunch experience. Attentive service meaning you were never without a drink and the pizza was 👌 Highly recommend the forager for a vegetarian.

The menu has so many fantastic choices it's almost overwhelming. It's got a cosy family vibe. The drinks selection is good, particularly if you enjoy wine. The servers are friendly. Definitely try to reserve a table. There's parking nearby that's free after 6. The pizzas are a 7/10. The margherita was a bit watery but the Cor Blimey was delicious. The chips are fine. They charge £1 for ketchup which is uncommon in the UK and made worse by the fact it's a watery marinara instead of ketchup.

Authentic, and excellent, Neapolitan pizza. Atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, staff are lovely, attentive, and helpful. Great selection of pizza and a few other bites too. Prices are perfectly reasonable, and the food is delicious. Only criticism from me would be to use fior di latte as the main cheese over the buffalo mozzarella to avoid excess jus. However, delicious nonetheless, and probably the best in Darlington, if not the wider NE. Canolo was absolutely heavenly, and the espresso is good too. I recommend the Montepulciano as a sharing wine if you're a party of 3. Will be back again and again! Grazie, tutti

An absolute must-visit spot for a meal with family or friends. From the moment you walk through the door, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of charm — the building’s presentation and vibe are perfecto! The food? Exceptional — and not just the pizza (though that is the star of the show). You'll see for yourself, that every dish is made with care, using top-quality ingredients that truly enhance the experience. While the beer selection is on the smaller side, the Peroni more than made up for it — crisp, light, and genuinely brewed in Italy. None of that "brewed in Burton-on-Trent" fakery here! 😂 To start, I had the mixed olives — nothing too fancy, just a solid, tasty selection. Even the kids loved them! (they’re not pitted, so keep an eye on little ones.) I went for the Nell Emilia pizza, named after a family memeber I was told, so a nice little personal touch, and... it was sensational. You can tell immediately that they use premium ingredients. The peperoni, peppers, prosciutto, mozzarella and sauce were so fresh and tasty! The dough was spot-on: thin, perfectly baked, and the crust was actually enjoyable — none of that chewy afterthought you get elsewhere. Parking can be a bit of a lottery — you might get a space across the road if you’re lucky, but there are several public car parks just a very short walk away. If my bank balance would allow it, I’d be there every single day. A seriously impressive spot — already looking forward to the next visit!

Passing through and passed by the establishment and was peckish so thought I would pop in. Served by a friendly young man behind the bar who poured me a pint of beer and offered me a food menu. I had fish and chips :) Very nice atmosphere and good food. :)

We came for a meal to celebrate our sons A-level results. Greeted warmly by a hard working barman who was considerate and efficient. The food was really good, generous portions and fairly priced. We will definitely return and recommend 👌

This is a really nice pub and very comfortable and the staff are lovely. But the food is not good. Nothing is freshly cooked and it's all warmed up. Now I know many kitchens need to prepare in advance and warm up food. But the difference is the food here tastes and looks like it's been warned up. Cheese and battered foods can not be allowed to go cold and then re heat. The chips are just sloppy. As, they've also been re heated. Don't buy food here as, it's just awful. The staff are lovely though so this is down to the owner or manager to sort out and put right. And this was once a thriving pub on a lunch time. But not any more and poor management is one that's not asking why!!!! Uno momento is not brilliant but it's packed compared to the Pennyweight. And I won't go in uno momento either.

Fantastic sunday pub lunch!! 2 types of meat and a plateful of scrummy potatoes and veg, topped off with homemade gravy and cauliflower cheese on the side. What's not to love! Highly recommended and very reasonably priced

I had my first sunday dinner since I've arrived in England and this roast was absolutely delicious! They know how to make proper yorkshire pudding! I recommend this place. Nice staff and dogs are welcome too!

Adorable pub with a lot of patio space. The aspell cider was perfect and not too sweet. My partners steak was a bit fatty, but the side of veggies were fresh and delicious. The chicken appetizer could have a bit more flavour, but my salmon cakes were full of flavour and the potatoes were definitely new baby potatoes - so good! Will be back!

I always visit on my trips to the UK. Probably the best menu and quality of food available in the Darlington area, which is why it’s a go-to place while visiting.

Popped into this lovely restaurant last minute for a meal while we were racing at Croft. Gareth made us feel very welcome even though the kitchen was due to close. Would definitely recommend, the food was great, and very reasonably priced. We will be back!

Out for lunch with my fiance and my mum. We were greeted warmly and soon after seating we were asked what drinks we'd like. Drinks came promptly and our food order was taken, 2 x fish and chips and 1 x bacon chop with chips, pineapple and fried egg. Food soon arrived and it was delicious. Crispy batter, chunky chips and mushy peas, tartare sauce and granary bread and butter. Tender bacon chop, chunky chips, fried egg, warm pineapple and peas. Service was friendly and not pushy. Highly recommend The Tawny Owl.

This is an absolute gem in Darlington, one of the best micro-pubs/taprooms that I have ever been to...London would be better off if there were a few of these! They have a great variety - about 20 different beers that included mostly crafts, from about 6 to 7 different breweries - over a combination of casks and kegs. In the limited number of days I was there, made it a point to visit it twice. One issue though - it says it remains open upto 8PM on Mondays and 10PM on other days. But really not! They ring their last service bell at 9:30PM and don't serve after 9:45PM, even though their doors remain open until quarter past"ish". One of their staff, Daryll, or Darell, refused to serve us twice well before their "closing hour", even though we were sitting inside and enjoying their pints. I wish they could just be a bit more customer centric while running this brilliant gem of a place!

Awesome micropub with so much choice - something like 7 cask and 7 keg lines - with everything from local craft beers and real ales to German and Belgian offerings. A drinker's delight. Great atmosphere and really friendly owner. Dog friendly too.

Great pub, great selection of whiskeys, more than enough to choose from. Friendly and fantastic beers, ales and even stout! If you are a local or visiting then you need to make a visit to this instant local institution. Superb atmosphere, prefer the local, homes sweet home Ale and it was perfect. I'll be back.

Very impressed by The Half Moon last night. A much better vibe than previous times. Great staff, owners and a much better clientele than before. A great armosphere with some excellent real ales.I'll be returning very soon.

Went yesterday with my family, we didn't book but after 30 seconds they catered for us even though it was busy. Kids pizzas were massive. Our steaks were unreal, one of the finest I've had for some time (thank you to the chefs) and the Italian blue cheese sauce is making my mouth water whilst typing. Service was spot on, every staff member was friendly. It was very clean with a decent atmosphere.

Always a busy place the times we have been in which is a great sign to start with. The food is really nice extremely tasty & always the right amount to fill you up & at a great price. Cheesy garlic bread starter is lovely but don't eat too much or no room for the lovely main course. Waiters & waitress are always happy & friendly & help make a lovely meal. Slight delay on drinks during busy periods as only one person on the bar. All in all a great Italian that we have been back to a great few times now & can't fault anything about Uno momento Darlington at all.

Wow, what a disappointment. Came as a party of 12. Got fed at different times, so much so that by the time the last meal came the 1st was finished. Burger sent back as specified no salad, came with salad. 1 steak ordered well done, sent medium. Crab cakes were cooked differently and coloured differently. The curry sauce which was served with it was covered in oil. Coleslaw was sour. When desserts came. Fudge cake was like cardboard. Ice cream advertised as 3 scoops came as 2 teaspoons full served in a warm glass. As a positive though. Our server Katie was fantastic with us. She was so helpful. Very smiley and polite and dealt with everything so well. Full credit to her. The rest of the experience was very below par. Very disappointed and won't be back

Excellent service, checked everything was OK, times were great waiting for service and for food. Had this lovely birthday board under my dessert. We visited under the restaurant week, 3 courses £20. Well worth it. It included rump under this offer if not paying to upgrade and it was really good, no massive gristle/fat bits you couldn't chew.

My first time trying this. Great service, the starters and desserts were amazing. The main wasn't bad either (some halal options). The nice waitress was kind enough to take a pic of us which we were appreciative of.

A successful Darlington restaurant week visit. 3 courses for £20 can’t be beat really. Little balls of parmo with a good sauce, steak cooked medium rare with a pot of peppercorn sauce to top it off with, and a slice of chocolate fudge cake and vanilla ice cream to wash it down. Staff were quick and attentive with taking orders and bringing drinks over. Would recommend to visitors of Darlington and would go back again

Updated review for 2024... Another visit for a family birthday, this time on. Sunday for Sunday lunch. I'm disappointed to say things have gone downhill at this restaurant. We had long waits for service, the servings of beef were almost insulting in their stinginess (not to mention a little on the tough side) and things like red cabbage and horseradish sauce were not provided or not in stock. This is a real shame because we had such a good experience on our previous visit in 2022.

Definitely recommended. Had "The Tomahawk" with 4 sides which were included; beef dripping chips, hashbrowns, beetroot and stilton salad, and wild mushrooms with roast tomatoes. Everything was delicious, would strongly recommend having the tomahawk with bone-marrow gravy, glorious! The stilton and bacon sauce was great too, a bit watery but very tasty, very light to accommodate the rest of the food. Vibrant atmosphere with catchy, uplifting music that everyone would love, perfect place for food and/or drinks. The consistency of staff is very good to part-time. I thought it was cheeky putting £15 service charge, it's like asking for a tip when it's supposed to be voluntary. It wasn't obligatory to pay it after all, so preferred to leave a cash tip.

Nice steak, good varied menu, full GF menu. Only reason for 4 stars was the price. In my opinion Miller & Carter is the better option.

Great Gnocchi! Love place it was a Monday night but I am sure the atmosphere is better when it's busy I usually take a photo or 2 of my food but I was deep in conversation with my friend so we just tucked straight in. The food here is quite affordable too.

I visited on Monday evening with my Mam and my Son for a Mothers Day treat. I am disabled and have mobility issues, so parking was an issue. I ended up parking on the street outside, which I was told by a passer by is okay after 5pm, so hopefully that was correct! Drink and food orders are taken from the table. Meals arrived in a good, timely manner. We were happy with our three courses. Customer service was excellent. We did spend a little more than planned, but that was my fault for choosing from the wrong menu.

I come here regularly with my partners for birthdays, anniversary’s etc and bring guests here when they come to visit. We LOVE Al Forno. We always have top notch food with bursts of flavour in everything we try. We have never had a bad taste at this restaurant. Service from staff is always immaculate, staff are friendly and always happy to help should you have any requests, very attentive. Atmosphere is spacious but cosy and it’s great to see customers always in high spirits and enjoying their food. Best to always reserve a table. Would and will come back a million times, thank you!

Been here quite a lot and always been lovely apart from today!! Food was cold and returned to be reheated veg served and by the time we waited for dinners to be reheated that was cold so that had to be sent back !! Felt sorry for waitress that kept apologising but no way was it her fault. Felt as if because we were upstairs we were just forgotten about, tables of two downstairs had no complaints but we were a table of 16 which were spending a lot more money, everyone should get the same treatment.

Our meals were lovely but the service could have been better. We were shown to our table but after 15mins we had to wave someone over so we could order some drinks and we hadn't been given any menus to look through either. Apart from this we really enjoyed our night.

Just been for Tuesday steak and it was fabulous. Steak cooked to perfection & lovely bottle of wine. Definitely recommend.

My boyfriend and I visited Al Forno today for the first time, during our visit to Darlington. Due to it being a Sunday, we opted for the Sunday roast sharing platter. Wow. One of the nicest roast dinners I’ve had in a long time. We were both stuffed. My boyfriend got the tiramisu for dessert, and of course I had to try it. It was the nicest tiramisu we have both ever tasted. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Came for the first time for lunch. Was slightly disappointed by the service as I have never been here I was a bit confused by the process and it was not explained to me nor did they ask. It was quite a quiet lunch, we were sat next to the salad bar but we also felt quite neglected in that corner. The food is slightly better than average. Some cuts such as the beef were quite nice but then some others like the chicken were extremely salty and/or dry. The salad bar was mediocre at best. Overall, a half decent experience but would not come again.

Another lovely experience at Estabulo in Darlington. The staff are all so friendly, food was great quality, salad bar fresh and stocked. My partner wasn't feeling very well just as we arrived, so he only managed 1 piece of meat and few mouthfuls of coleslaw. I however, stuffed myself as I always do! Brazilian steak being my favourite, the waiter made sure to come round plenty of times and gave me multiple cuts of that meat- thankyou Marco being so attentive 👏🏽 Fantastic service, and we did enjoy a Zombie cocktail at the end 🍹

This restaurant was so nice We have never seen a salad bar like it 😋 there was so much choice, everything was fresh and well stocked. The meat choices were very good and and tasty, you could eat as much as you wanted. The price for what you get is not bad as long as you can eat it all So we recommend you don't eat before you get there to get your moneys worth 😉 The staff were very professional and attentive and just lovely people. We were very impressed it was a 10/10 for us we will try and find one nearer to where we live

I love coming here it’s the best meat you will have in a restaurant and most of all is as soon as you sit down you get served a wide range of meats steak, chicken, sausage, lamb. By the staff who have great service standards and are always friendly. You can have as much as you want from either the meats or the buffet which always has great options i would call it fast food but it deserves a way better title than fast food it’s just overall amazing place to eat definitely will be back.

One of the best places I’ve ever eaten, left feeling very happy and full to say the least 😅 customer service was incredible, especially our waitress Kayleigh. Absolutely loved her attitude and how attentive she was for us the entire night ❤️ Meat was flowing constantly and cooked to perfection. Salad bar was one of the best we’ve seen & we even tried some new things such as the cinnamon pineapple. Definitely recommend the coconut ice cream too. Will absolutely be back in the future!

Visited a couple of weeks ago during EOTHO and felt they did a really great job making it feel safe without losing too much of the experience. The food was all great and we loved being able to order our drinks and pay on the app. We’ve visited before, prior to Covid and loved the selection of meat, it was disappointing that it could no longer came round on the skewers but no quality was compromised! Still a delicious meal and we look forward to our next visit

Came here for a spontaneous family meal for 7 people. I rang about 20 mins before turning up and they were happy to help and accommodate for us. Service was amazing with staff being very attentive and friendly. It’s safe to say all of us were very impressed with the meals for their flavour as well as portion sizes. Thank you!!

I didn't want to do a review as this place really is a gem that I'd like to keep for myself. The food is spectacular (not an understatement) They say that you eat with your eyes, and with the way my meal was presented, I couldn't wait to get stuck in. The staff are friendly, chatty and the restaurant is well layed out and clean. Tables are nicely spaced out so you have your meal and conversation with your group and not several other tables. The Chef is amazing and his food speaks volumes. Great selection at the bar and to be honest, yes, some things on the menu were a little pricey but having eaten here a few times, the food is worth every penny. They have an extensive menu catering do or all tastes and yes, you can even take your pooch with you, so muddy boots, muddy paws are also welcome. That said, the place was spotless. Do I recommend it, oh yes, and with a loyalty card to take money off my next visit, I'll be back. (Belly Pork is amazing) I've included pics of the snack menu but not the main "all singing and dancing" one.

Absolutely deserves the great reviews! Sunday lunch menu was extensive, food delicious and service friendly and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely come again if up this way. Sarah, our server, was lovely. All staff smiled and couldn't do enough to accommodate, including extra gravy! Cheerful, fun and dog friendly- what more could you want. Enjoy!

This is a lovely pub on the outskirts of Darlington, the decor was very nice, the staff were polite, and attentive, but although the food was tasty there were a couple of points which tainted the over all experience. I ordered the CHICKEN PARMIGIANA, the chips were dry french fries and the salad was a handfull of rocket with some reg cabbage coverage, the Chicken though was very tasty. The wife ordered the STICKY DUCK & HOISIN PIZZA, which at £16.50 was not very good, poor value for money, the base was very tasty but there was little duck or cheese, with some slices having neither. This was pointed out to the waitress at the time. The puddings were decent although again a little over priced. so for a couple of issues we felt the meal over all although tasty was over priced considering the lack of pizza topping and poor fries and salad.

Great unscheduled stop that proved to be well.worth it, amazing food great service and a wide selection of drinks, cocktails and non alcoholic.

Gorgeous pub! The food was lovely, the staff were great. The inside of the pub was very clean, tidy & I had a really nice lunch. I’ve driven past this pub so many times, this was the first time I’ve actually been in. It will not be the last!

Came here as they have a gluten free menu as hubby is celiac and there is nothing worse than you can only have one or maybe two choices. Hubby went for smothered steak 😋 which he enjoyed just a shame he couldn't have chips but if there isn't a separate fryer better safe than sorry 😉 I had half chicken chips and coleslaw good portions Grandsons went for double cheese burger and icecream to follow + drink 😋 and at £1.50 summer holiday deal you really couldn't complain Staff welcoming and straight away asked any allergies when ordering ✅️ I will say any pubs who have carpets don't do themselves any favours as they retain smells and it would have been easier for staff to brush food in to a dustpan after kids spilling, not a good look when choosing a table.

A couple of weeks ago, I ordered food from here, and I have to say I won't be returning. I tried the chicken tikka sizzler, but the chicken was of poor quality—cheap pieces that had absolutely no flavor. The onions and peppers appeared unfresh and unappetizing. The salad looked like it was a week old, dry, and definitely not washed. The food wasn't very warm either. Not to mention my partners meal. The tables were sticky, there were hardly any utensils, and those available were dirty. Overall, the place felt unclean.

Nice atmosphere and really friendly, helpful staff. Great value having 2x Sunday roast plus alcoholic drinks for £10 each. Let down a bit because table wasn't clean, menu was sticky, fork had "bits" in it (hadn't been through the washer properly) plus a blob of ketchup on the furniture (pictured). But then, what do you expect for a tenner?

Firstly the cutlery is absolutely disgusting, communal trays filled with half washed cutlery which everyone including kids was fingering, no idea when anyone last washed their hands. Sticky tables. Stunk of sour beer. Nearly £9 for a breakfast that consists of 2 tbsp beans, mushrooms, 2 hash browns, 1 sausage, 1 egg and 1 rasher of bacon. Granted the bacon was really tasty, hash browns, beans and mushrooms decent enough but egg and especially the anemic sausage I've attached a picture of was awful. Plus 1.29 extra for a piece of toast what a JOKE. I'm not a fan of spoons but it is cheaper and nicer there. Also the app promises £5 off first order but cancels any special offers so basically more expensive to order anything, what a con.

Me and my family came here for a little reunion as we haven't seen eachother for a while. They staff were absolutely brilliant! Couldn't fault them at all. I was served by Megan I'm presuming a manager and she was very attentive and always had a smile on her face. The food was excellent, let's just say all of our plates were empty when they got cleared. We will definitely be back again! Thank you all!

Food is your usual 'ping' grub, not that we mind. The disappointing this for me was the fact the skillets don't come 'hot'. I'm used the the skillets sizzling but never had them in this pub which is a shame. They are that Luke warm you can touch them! Other than that, not a bad little pub.

Your typical franchise pub with good seating, helpful staff and banging playlist. Food was as expected, standard quality and all eaten by us. The loss of the star was down to lack of taste in a watery gammon, no onions and peppers for a sizzling steak not on a skillet, and lukewarm apple crumble desert. The latter one caused my reply of okay when asked about it, the plate collector then muttered showing his dissatisfaction to my answer. Overall go if you want a budget lunch out, but not too budget

The customer service was ok. The atmosphere, though quite a few in seemed dull. The food was better. I had the katsu chicken burger with skin chips ,which came with a drink - burger Tuesday, £11.75; and my partner had fish & chips. £7.95 I tried the Hobgoblin gold and was mild and very nice. Wheelchair accessible and toilets.

We recently moved to the area so wanted to try the local pubs. We had a great experience. Good portion size and a good price. Our waitress, Lorna, was so helpful and friendly. We loved the atmosphere and will definitely be back.

Nice pleasent place to have a quiet drink, and a meal if you want, we, the bros and I have enjoyed some good times here.

Being regular customer in the white heifer we return because of the wonderful staff and how welcoming they are every time. There has been times we have booked last minute often a large table and they have always accomdated. The food is of a high standard and enjoyed by all, including the fussier eaters. The atmosphere is excellent which is contributed by the high quality of the cleanliness. Look forward to visiting again soon 😀

Visited here tonight - pre-booked a table for 6. Booking the table was easy via phone, a day before booking I received a text to confirm attendance. Table was ready when we arrived and was shown straight to the table, balloons and banners were present, that I had dropped off earlier in the day - Staff were amazing ! Really attentive, polite. Menu caters for everyone even two fussy eaters. Thank you for a great evening!

Service was excellent, very quick and staff very friendly. Food was really good, big portions and very tasty. Atmosphere very relaxing, didn't feel rushed at all. Will definitely be back.

I don't like leaving negative reviews (normally just don't write anything, I prefer to speak directly to the staff/manager)... however, on this occasion, I was so disappointed with the venue and service that I feel I can't not leave a "constructive" review. Food is good. Service is appalling! We ate on a Saturday night, it wasn't busy (empty tables around us all evening so being busy isn't a plausible excuse).. we finished our food, the table cleared, but then the bill was just thrown on our table. No one asked if we'd like anything else, we hadn't even asked for it.. So, by all means, go and enjoy the good, just be warned, don't expect to be waited on with any finesse! Oh and we ordered a bottle of Pino Grigio.. what arrived was a Tesco's finest bottle of... 🫣😲🤨

Salt is absolutely marvellous. It's hard to describe the vibe of the menu, but you'd probably say "elevated street food". They have offering from around the globe, my usual favourite being the tacos ofcourse :) Portions can be a little small for the price, but the quality is undeniable, proven in the taste! The building itself is spectacular, with the full aspect front window, and the large mezzanine level, which gave an almost private-dining experience. Drinks/cocktail menu was small but provided exactly what you'd expect and need. Off menu offerings were also catered to. Oh, and there's a swing seat in the ante-room. A perfect venue for something a little more unique, in a town almost plagued with average establishments.

Really comfortable venue. The Two Time burger is pretty good. Like 6.8/10. - nice bun - salty - burger is quite smashed so it's crispy - a slice of tomato or gherkins would cut through the richness Check your bill before paying...

Food was absolutely unreal and soo filling. Ordered the beef birria tacos and Korean loaded fries and that was more than enough for one person. The tacos were so juicy, cheesy and the consommé was so yum. Loaded fries were good too with a good amount of spice. Had to wait a while as was a busy Friday night but so worth the wait. Great menu deffo something for everyone

Wow. First visit. We will definitely be back. Amazing burgers. Cheesy garlic fries were delicious. We also had the bao buns, Korean chicken and pork belly. They were so good! Great place to chill and eat. Loved the No Face dotted around for Studio Ghibli fans...

Went on Friday took just under an hour for the food to arrive which I wouldn’t mind if it’s all fresh.When the food arrived both burgers were cold but didn’t want to wait any longer for a fresh one.The food was amazing and worth every penny.No staff came over to ask how the food is,asked if we wanted anymore drinks or bring the bill over.We ended up going upto the till to pay and noticed how much the staff were rushing round and I really felt sorry for them.I think the owners really need to consider getting more staff to keep up with the demand.It would have been a 5 star review but the service really let it down.

Ate with a friend in Salt last night. It was her first visit to Salt but I have been a quite a few times before. Really nice chilled vibe still, the staff were really friendly and helpful as my friend couldn’t decide what to choose from the menu! They also returned to our table several times while we were there to ask if we needed anything else. The food was delicious as always!!! We had the two time burger, cheesy garlic fries, quesadillas and burger fries. ( A couple of cocktails also which were good too!) My friend loved it and we will both be returning soon! Thanks guys!

What can you say about this Witherspoon. Great atmosphere, very friendly people. Beers variety is not bad. Good and quick service and very pleasant staff who always ready to help. Food was good too. I decided to take the family for a light lunch as a regular customer, however today’s experience wasn’t great. We decided to go for the 10 inch wrap option which turned out to be a disaster. The contents within the wrap were non existent, over done chips and hardly any chicken or dressing. Staff require better training, one particular individual vanished when challenged about the quality of the food and service. I did get a refund for the food only, but never got offered a replacement or a full refund for all the meals due to the quality of service. Observe the pictures and judge for yourself. 🤔😕 This needs to improve in my opinion as the town is now becoming a hotspot for dining and has a buzz. Merry Christmas Wetherspoons 🌲🎅🍺

Visited here 3 times over a long weekend in Darlington. Once for a quick drink Friday night and then for breakfast both days on the weekend. Location is central Darlington, there is upstairs seating along with down and a garden area. At all times we visited, the only time it was busy was Sunday morning however seating was still fine to locate. Easy to order on the app, service was quick and there was 2 hot drink machines meaning no queues. Food was hot and tasty. Highly recommend this Wetherspoons.

Not a bad place for a drink and cheap food! I ordered a curry it came with a garlic nan and 2 poppadoms(possibly shop bought) ordered on the app and very quick service, nice friendly staff relaxed atmosphere 😀

Horrendous. Half portions of food, half cooked chips. It's not particularly busy, lots of empty tables. We were still hungry from the lack of food on the mains plate, so had pudding...something hubby can never fit in. Told the staff about the quality of the last 'course', nothing done except for money taken for the pudding choices. Oh. My. Goodness. You know when you wish you hadnt bothered! Totally swearable. Took it back to the bar and asked for a replacement, as earlier advised we shoukd have done with the main..as the custard was thin and the caked smoothered in scraped lumps. You know when you wish you hadnt bothered?! £30 down. Hungry. Just ultimately feeling robbed and cheated. Will never return.

Not too bad for a Wetherspoon pub. Quiet for a Saturday night and ale was £1.99 a pint. Weird because the Spoons 5 minutes away was £2.78 but full of people. I may return if I'm ever in the area again.

Really nice architecture and cosy place for gatherings, meals or a drink 🍸 😀 The staff is very friendly and efficient during our visit...one of the nicest and clean pubs!! Location is very central near the town center not far from the shops and market place... very popular 👌 place in the evening

My wife and i called in, while we were out for the day. The meal took a bit longer to arrive than we expected, because it didn’t seem very busy. When it did arrive, it was hot and tasty. We polished off every mouthful. The staff who we spoke to were very polite.

From driving into the carpark you you get a sense that it's clean here. The pub is very welcoming and friendly, food can not go wrong always hot quick service. Staff do out their way to make sure you enjoy your trip here

Started coming to this pub recently and have sampled different dishes from the menu. The food has come out quickly and piping hot and very tasty. The staff are very professional and friendly and the pub has a nice atmosphere.

What a pleasure to eat here, the staff are friendly and efficient. We popped in for lunch not realising it was D'ton restaurant week, with two courses for £15, so that was a Brucie bonus. They have a full vegetarian menu, along with a vegan one and then their normal menu, with a good range of different meat and fish dishes. It's certainly the best range of veggie and vegan food in Darlington and quite possibly the whole of Co Durham.

Went here for Sunday Dinner where we had the beef and vegan roast. Both dishes were very well received with great service. Really impressed at vegan options and will be returning to have some of these! Thank you for great experience :)

A nice place. My first time there though. But I like the place especially the conservatory which makes you bask in the sun. Lovely..... The food was good and tastes nice. The atmosphere is serene. Got beautiful and neat environment spacious to accommodate children on the play ground, but you have to monitor them. They have great staffs and beautiful at that they were spot on with delivery of food and courteous. In all they are good. I will be there when next I'm in Darlington, and I recommend 100% if you are within conscliffe, Darlington Keep it up.

Fantastic staff and quick service ,unfortunately, our meals came out cold, but the staff changed them and gave us a pudding as an apology.Toilets were downstairs, which was a bonus, but they were in need of a good clean!!! There was not a lot of parking outside, but we did manage to find a space in a street round the corner, but you can only park there at certain times.Worth a visit if you're in the area or like me a Spoons fan.

I was in Tanners Hall on the afternoon of 25/09/25. I am an NHS powered wheelchair user as I have significant mobility issues and frail. There as a shouting match between a regular customer and a duty bar manager . With 3 tables between them and I was in the middle table. I understood the issue between them, but I was disgusted to how publicly this issue was made. However, my issue is that I am a vulnerable customer and was in my assessment of the situation at substantial risk if the situation escalated. It would seem I was disregarded by the duty manager, which is not how I understand the policy of the company states. It's about keeping people safe.

Pizza can only be described as microwaved. Base had no sign of being in an oven. Was soggy and white. Cheese still looked grated and not melted. Such a shame as I love the vegetable pizza at spoons. Usually crispy and full of flavour.

Jobsworth door man. We got there with two kids 1930pm to order tea after travelling 3 hours to be told to leave at 8. Why serve us then?? Asked for manager who popped head around corner saying they are fine. Staff had no issues but mr jobsworth had to have another go to say leave by 2015. Pathetic letter to CEO going in. Well done you scared my kids and wrecked tea

It is noticeably that this place has lower rating that the close by ORB which is far better. When you walk in no great welcome. Struggles yo read pub clips, with no assistance from staff. Ordered two beers and coffees cash. Was told no cash in till cars only or correct change. Was then pointed to beer board behind head with card or correct cask message, so why did staff not point to this when struggling to see beers. Staff then tried to suggest message in front of handpumps saying card or correct money, but handpumps in front never had msg. If so restricted on money should be very clear on front door (not shown) and stated before ordering. So staff were very familiar with certain customers but ignored us.

Very nice traditional bar, near the centre of Darlington. Great selection of craft and guest beers, and you can have a chat with no loud music to talk over. Its quite popular!

Great place good selection of beer. We have been numerous time and never had cause to complain till last week. My wife had a pint of Erdinger and I had a pint of Bull Premium all good price £11:60. I then had another pint of Bull £4:20. I had another and my wife had a half of Erdinger £12:10. Now I didn't realise this till the following week when I looked at the bank statement. I just want to point out to people that when you use pay wave and didn't hear or see what the amount was then you have no idea what you have paid. The lady behind the bar probably made a genuine mistake but a costly one for use. Please check or question the amount as it does get noisy in there too.

We visited tonight for a small birthday gathering. The chap behind the bar was so friendly, helped with the birthday cake, sang with us and most of all... Made great cocktails ❤️ thank you so much. We will be back when back in town. Oh! And dog friendly! Highly recommend 😊

A beautiful breakfast which was a great value treat. Two meals and a hot drink for £12, plus the eggs cooked to your preference. I had fried and my wife had poached. It was a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. Magnificent preparation, presentation and service. The decor and atmosphere are very nice too.

Called in for breakfast, thought it was just a bar but saw board outside offering 2 breakfasts for £20,initially we thought bog standard breakfast but no. The girl on the bar was friendly, wecoming ans got us menus and coffees came promptly, the menu for breakfast is fantastic! I had Orkney benedict, muffin, crisp bacon, black pudding topped with delicious hollandaise, my friend had garlic mushrooms topped with 2 perfect poached eggs and hollandaise, totally delicious! When we paid it was just £20, unbeknown to us coffee was included! If you want a fantastic full English or smashed avocado on toast and everything in between this is the place to go, we will definitely make it our meet up place in future,

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to The Juniper Tree. Food was great, served fast and just the right portion size. Our drinks were made excellently, and not at all rushed. A relaxed atmosphere with lovely decor, and friendly service. Highly recommend!

She was very rude and aggressive for absolutely no reason when I asked where the toilet is she said "what a stupid question" then proceeded to laugh at me. I think she has a problem with people who are autistic. I bet I'm not the only person she's offended.

Waited long not served a pint after 15 minutes wait on counter then I gone out for a better place never coming back to this place .Staff not interested in serving people.

As always consistancy is their standard .Clean neat tidy and the staff really on the ball. Especially booking tables for the big rugby and football games. Always willing to help. One of my favourite pubs.

Very much a locals pub hidden away in the town centre. Always plenty of real ales to try along with some regular beers and ciders. The main interest is the live bands which play here catering for all tastes in music. Helpful, friendly bar staff as well. Didn't try any food.

My daughter and her fiance held their engagement party here in the gorgeous upstairs venue. All guests who had not visited before loved the venue. During the planning stage, Shelley met with us and answered all questions, keeping in touch throughout the planning process. We were allowed access the day before to decorate and on the day itself to present the food and add the table decorations. As a central Darlington venue the location was superb for all guests. We had some travel from Glasgow, Austria and even Mexico for the party. Blessed with good weather guests were able to make the most of the outside spaces. A huge thanks to Shelley and the team for making this such an amazing event. Thank you.

Lovely little gem, brilliant line up of stouts. Bartender was very accommodating letting me have a try of them all before making my choice and my word, that's a stout.

I've been visiting this pub for at least 20 years... Is that right? It can't be?! They have a fantastic selection of beers and some seriously drinkable cider. It was a quiet Monday evening when I was in with some old friends, the Barman was witty and played along with our shenanigans. A good time was had by all.

I cannot leave a review about food because we didn't eat and who needs to with the fabulous selection of nine real and craft ales, a selection of ciders and lagers including Budvar on draft. Great place, very friendly and off the beaten track up an alley.

Hard to find , especially if you follow Google maps ( it's NOT in the covered market or the market square ! ) . Good Rock / music pub which is just starting to have some live music 🎶 again after all the last 18months of turmoil. Very friendly lady behind the bar who knows her real ales & Darlington history 😁👍 Had a chat outside in the courtyard with the owner who is sound 🤘 Worth trying to find.

What a find. A very nice little bar and eaterie. Similar in style to a French bar, very intimate, stylish. Suitable for couples or small groups.

Lovely food, and good selection of wines and cocktails. Good friendly staff that tell you the origins of all the cheeses and meats that they bring to you. Not really a restaurant as such but if its hearty snacking and a drink or two you want in a nice cosy environment, then I'd recommend it wholeheartedly.

Spent the evening in Sortie for my daughters birthday last night and had the most amazing evening. Food and drinks were fabulous and the staff were incredibly friendly and tentative - especially our server Ellie who surprised my daughter with some birthday brownie at the end. Will absolutely be returning, would highly recommend!

Never fails to impress! Sortie is such a gorgeous place for both food and drinks. Their aquariva cocktail is worthy of an award, but also a danger to society (in the best way) - make sure you order one.

Unusual eating place, compact and bijou. Nice food but could have done with more choice with what we wanted on the platters. Only choice was blue cheese or not. In my opinion, a bit stingy with the cheese but lots of charcuterie! It was nice, and would go again.

Excellent priced drinks, super friendly service, good music choices, lovely bouncer. I see a lad there all the time doing karaoke, I think he’s called diddy but whatever his name is he brings it every time.

Great staff strict no trouble tolerated. The DJ who dose Mondays Tuesdays Wednesdays and Fridays he is excellent. But the other DJ who dose the other days is not that great he disappears didn't really dive a toss you are kept waiting

This is a tough one. If I could give a 3.5 I would. Staff are great people and don't tolerate trouble, prices are nothing special for this sort of pub. The issue is, after a certain time you get some absoloute helmets in, seen a couple scraps in this one. But all in all, good choons, standard pricing, open late. If you don't mind a little bit of a dodgy pub, it's an okay place to end the night.

A small but really nicely presented pub in the town centre. Friendly staff. The Quays has live bands on most Saturday nights and the last Friday of each month Moderation brings DJs playing a fantastic selection of R&B, Northern Soul and classic Mod tracks

Last week (6 June) I popped into The Quays with some colleagues for a working lunch, we hadn't been in for ages as last time we found a particular member of staff very difficult and unpleasant. We have been trying other places but havent found anywhere that served such good food - so pleased we went back !! The particular member of staff is no longer employed and I have to say the food was excellent and the service great. The atmosphere was friendly and we had a lovely lunch - thank you.

Friday nights are great live bands, and the price of drinks is very reasonable. The staff work hard to make sure everyone is served as quickly as possible,get in early if you want a seat

A great pub for watching live sport, no food

Brilliant atmosphere! The Old English Gentleman embraces live music and puts some of the best local talent on. Prices are awesome, clientèle are great. A proper Darlington institution!

This is a very popular pub, I was in on a Saturday night and there was a lot of people in. But despite the crowd the service was excellent and the staff where very friendly,if you are looking for a lively evening you couldn't pick a better place.

Decent drinking pub. No food as far as I know. Drinks are good value, cheaper than most. The place gets livelier on an evening as it frequently has live music on.

Great venue for a bit of craic! Decent Guinness (by English standards) and fair beer garden. Not a bad shout for a night out. Prepare for bleeding ears though if you drop by on karaoke night though. 😅

Turks has a good atmosphere and good prices. Great place to end your night as open to 2 am.

Good honest town boozer. my local of three years and the heart and soul of the darlington I know and love. You get all sorts in here but the proper regulars are some of the finest examples of human beings you'll ever meet. Staff are a great bunch aswell (faith you absoloute poo-drinker lol)

Good bar with excellent Ossett beers. The real find, though, is the Andaman Home Kitchen in the same building which is great. Eat in or takeaway. Lovely Thai food and such nice staff.

Excellent, very local pub, in a very 30s roadhouse style. Lots of sport on TV, well appreciated juke box in the bar. Bar and separate lounge area. Two very good ales from Osset brewery, well kept and served.

Just attended the most fabulous jazz night at the Travellers Rest. Jazz night is once a month and the music and variety of jazz musicians is excellent. It is well worth a visit.

Nice friendly welcome, good selection of drinks including a small selection of well kept cask beers. There's a tiny restaurant, based inside the pub at the rear which I've heard good things about, both in its previous incarnation as s Caribbean Restaurant and as it is currently, Andaman Home Cafe, which serves freshly cooked Thai delicacies. There's also a function room above which I believe is free to reasonable sized parties.

Only called for a beer, enjoyed in the beer garden. Looks to get the sun most of the afternoon. Friendly.

Attended the 80’s Calling festival here. The place looked like it had been mothballed for 10 years and opened for the gig. Paintwork is peeling, seats are sun bleached and toilets full of cobwebs. The event ran out of lager 2 hours before the end of the show. Bins were not replaced when full. We queued up for 1.5 hours for food only for it to run out before we got to the front of the queue. We left before the headline act for food elsewhere. A disappointing venue.

Went there for an Eighties concert- Altered Images, T'Pau, Toyah, The Farm, The Christians, Tony Hadley, Bananarama and The Human League. Nice venue, but a pain to get to as most of the roads around it were closed.

At mowden park for a back to the 80's festival, excellent place

80s calling. Absolutely shabby organisation. No advance information re drinks and food. We took a picnic which was confiscated and I was told to pick it up from the box office after the show. The box office was shut after the show! Lots of people were eating their own food. I was fuming. Especially as it cost 14 quid for 2 measly portions of chips. Not happy 🤬

We attended the recent 80's Calling Event and really enjoyed the acts... The drinks / food were overpriced and the queues were excessive but you expect that for these events. However the stadium was awful, very outdated and extremely dirty with overflowing bins everywhere. The gents toilets were absolutely horrific with the floors flooded (I hope it was water...) the toilets overflowing, no hand towels and one hand dryer. Not good at all... We left before the headline act (about 9 hours after arriving) as we had had enough of the tiny uncomfortable seats and we needed the loo and we were NOT going to use the stadium toilets again. Very disappointing...

Absolutely gutted about the 80' calling concert. Started the minute we got into car park to be told you have to have a parking permit or ticket that had to be pre booked, I didn't read any were about that so had to park in the street after driving around for a while looking for a place. Once in queue the stewarts guns weren't working to scan phones it was taking them ages to work. Once inside the stewarts (3 of them) all kept pointing us in different directions on where to go. We sorted it out ourself.once in a position were we wanted to be and it was a great position i went for cans of pop , prices shocking £5 for two cans. £6.50 for 1 ice cream. By 3 o'clock people were so drunk around us if was making us to uncomfortable and believe me I'm a very strong person and nothing bothers me but the amount of people so drunk and the language was disgusting, people were pushing to get to the front if the railing and trying to push this elderly couple next to us out the way , I wasn't letting that happen. The amount of people smoking , the massive screen saying to smoking made no difference what so ever. Not one steward was around to help . After standing 7 hours and seeing 5 acts I couldn't take it any more we had to move away , at this point I was so upset. We went to stand at the back ,I thought I will go to toilet first big mistake the ladies queue was ridiculous, two massive lines to go into same toilets , I stood 30 minutes and couldn't wait any longer I was desperate so I thought i will have to use toilets outside of arena the porteloos. Once outside I was told if I leave to use porterloo I cant come back in , told them I was desperate I have no choice so I left. Told them its an absolute disgrace how its been organised. After waiting such a long time to see this event I'm very disappointed in how the event has been handled .

Went for 80s calling. Very organised. Only issues, limited food venues which made 2 hour queues. Maybe could have utilised foyer for more. And the ladies toilets were disgusting!! A few overflowing, paper towels for drying hands had run out and no other options to dry hands. Also bins were full reallt quickly and not emptied. Plastic waste was huge. Maybe water beakers could have bee. Reusable ones that initially paid for and prosecco stand could have done the same for plastic bottles they were decanting glass bottles into.

Door staff effectively promote drug use. We were not allowed back in after flagging up drug use trying to do the right thing.

Drove all the way from Catterick to find your doors closed. Meant to be open till 0400 on a Thursday? Pathetic performance you’ve lost a monumental amount of money

Shame that the door staff can not distinguish between drunk and dring being spiked. Where is there duty of care

Cozy and relaxed bar which is located on the ground floor of the Mecure Kings hotel. Good range of beers, wines and spirits available. Also food is available from 12.00 till late with a menu offering home cooked classics. Friendly and helpful staff. Free WiFi is available.

Absolutely shocking food and management. The hotels grill has substandard food which is inedible. Honeslty do not put your family or self through a meal here! 1. Food was undercooked and of poor standard both nights of our stay (we didn't eat hardly any of the 3 courses and gave up on the second night and ate out after initially giving it the benefit of the doubt and attempting to eat there again!) 2. The management basically sent an inadequate response and basically called us liars. Unfortunately it's your staff who are liars

Food was lovely, pub has a very nice layout, GM seems like a top guy, and really appreciated how clean the pub was, from the tables that seemed like a regularly polished. Even the toilets were very clean which is not as common as you'd think in pubs. One member of the party also had a shandy with the ale lines also appearing to be fresh. The prices are also pretty Highly recommended.

I go to the Brinkburn all the time and it’s easily one of my favourite pubs in Darlington – the staff are always friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed with a proper community feel, and the drinks are well priced and well kept; it’s the sort of place where you feel comfortable whether you’re catching up with friends, watching the match, or just popping in for a quiet pint, which is why I keep going back.

I've seen two bands here so far, and both nights were fantastic. It’s a brilliant venue with a great atmosphere and an impressive diversity of music on offer. The service has been consistently good too — friendly staff and well-organised events. Can’t wait for the next gig!

I have only been there for the blues festival a couple of times. A great venue and facilities with a good bar. I wish we had a venue like that where I live.

Darlington forum had an event I'm the market place on Friday country theme what a great afternoon and great singers

It's one of the great venues in the North East. The sound is impeccable. The bar area is spacious too. The staff are friendly and helpful. Totally professionally ran. June Patrice Daly looked after our every need including sorting out a back line so everything ran smoothly. All the bands loved it and we will do it again next year on Saturday, 16th November, 2024. This is someone who has promoted 142 gigs in just over 13 years mainly in Middlesbrough and Stockton on Tees. We live in Marske by the Sea and wish it was closer as we would definitely promote there more often.

First time here at this music venue Fantastic venue ,friendly staff & got served at bar very quick . Went to watch " This is Grunge " & downloaded uk 2 fantastic bands well done all involved 👏 Support live music 🎶

Good sized room (room 3 which is 2nd biggest). Good facilities. And a bar for a drink! We’ll be back.

Great venue with a friendly atmosphere. Went to see the Rory story tribute band had a great night, excellent band. Like to thank staff for bringing the extra chairs and table in for us to save us standing. How nice is that. Cheers.

Cozy city centre Greene King pub. Good selection of beers on tap at and wines at reasonable prices. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect spot for watching sports on several large t.v. screens. Also serves a varied menu of classic food dishes. Free WiFi is available.

Real cheap beer (some pints as low as £2), friendly staff and plenty of room to sit or stand. I know it's considered by some to be a power drinkers bar. Maybe they're right. Still, on the odd afternoon occasion I have visited whilst passing through town, it's absolutely fine.

Unfortunately some customers are allowed to treat the bar area as their own front room. Spitting, and emptying their beer right onto the floor. It's very off putting nonetheless. Could be a bit more clean.

Huge pub, empty during the day. A bit run down but very cheap and very fresh beer. Fosters £2.00 and £2.20 later I think.

Hogans has cheap alcoholic drinks but doesn't serve hot food although they do serve sandwiches. Across the road from the railway station.

Another one of the old times pubs in Darlington. Responsable prices. Times I've gone in midweek service is slow even though it was quiet. Guess mobile phones at work have a lot to answer for. Saying that this bar is still worth a visit on a weekend when either DJ on or entertainment.

Good old fashioned town centre pub. Reasonable prices for drinks, juke box and pool table.

I just went in and asked if I could use their toilets as I’m 30 weeks pregnant and that was the closest place to go to the toilet at the time, but I got told that I couldn’t use their toilets so I had to walk to the cornmill toilets with a full bladder. I am really not happy with being told that I couldn’t use their toilets as it’s against the law to turn a pregnant person down to use the toilets. I even told them that I was pregnant as well.

i thought this was a naughty venue but it was just a normal pub with a bloke wearing army clothes asking to buy his pint VERY disappionted

Pub stinks. Service is poor toilets both male and female are questionable and the draft beer and lagers I've tried are not the quality I would expect. It's changed hands and that could be the reason but I won't be going back any time soon

First time I have been into this pub in 3yrs that I have lived in Darlington. Went to meet 6 friends there last night, doorman very friendly and polite, went to the bar to be served by a blonde lady. Ordered 2 drinks then asked around to the others whilst she was pouring these. We weren't quite quick enough and I was told by the lady to hurry up as 'couldn't I see she was busy' whilst she was tapping in the bar and staring at me with raised eyebrows. I asked her if my drink was Diet Coke, to be told she couldn't remember and does it matter, I told her it does matter as I am a Type 1 diabetic. She tutted, rolled her eyes and repoured the drink. For the next couple of hours, I made sure I was served by the other bar maid who had darker, longer hair who was absolutely lovely and a pleasure. Would have been enjoyable experience had it not been for this particular person. I have previously worked in bars for years myself and know it can be a nightmare at times, but it's not your customers fault!! I have only given 2 stars for the other team members, had I been rating this particular persons service, it would have been zero.

Would have maybe been a better experience could I have got a drink without been profiled due to having a pair of decent tracksuit bottoms on (There much more comfortable then jeans and it's not a dress trousers place). Seemed OK when initially walked in a nice crowd seemed to have gathered inside. Shame about profiling due to tracksuit bottoms been on which I didn't see a sign about just a lady coming and telling me. She was polite about it but there should have been clear signage and I wouldn't have turned up shame could have been a nice few drinks.

Barred myself out before i got barred out, (complaint)- shoulder length blond haired short lass with specs. Was waiting at the bar for a drink, was told she was outside having a cigarette went to the main door to let her know wanted a drink, the attitude she showed towards me was disgusting, swearing, attitude wow nobodys business (at least 8-9 week ago,) I would continue to drink there but not whilst shes there as i refuse to be arrested for being homophobic (when im not considering my son is gay) It is an ok boozer, need more respectful staff. Popped in on our way for a curry. The atmosphere was great, the staff were really nice and as someone who's teetotal, there was a great selection of non alcoholic drinks.

Brilliant bar, cool industrial decor and plenty of selection for a delicious drink. Games like cards & dominos on each table along with a bowl of sweets! Would 100% recommend.

Lovely bar. I was in Darlington for a couple of days, just wandering around, and hoped to find a nice bar for a couple of decent drinks, preferably local. I was reluctantly heading of to the Wetherspoons, and came across the Hop House. Nice beer and very friendly staff. Thank you - I really enjoyed my couple of pints - went back for my last night, and was diverted from my book by the Morris dancers doing what they do. cheers.

Went here with some real ale drinkers but I only drink lager. They had some home brewed stuff on sale which was incredibly expensive and absolutely undrinkable. Other than that the real ale drinkers were well happy. Me not so much.

Went out for a drink, the town was very quiet, the Vault was empty but the staff member was lovely and the cocktails devine. We will be back on a weekend as its got a lovely feel to it.

Visited here with a friend for the first time last Friday night. Had some amazing cocktails 🍸 and the atmosphere was perfect and the staff were super friendly.

Oh man I love The Vault. Honestly one of the best bars in Darlington. The music is always great with them often having live acts - usually jazz. The atmosphere of the 1920s era prohibition bar is fantastic, staff are great and (if you're in the mood) they even have board games. 10/10 always recommend though last time I enjoyed particularly great service from two of the bar staff with one of them enhancing my negroni with a blood orange gin he personally enjoys in his own negroni

Ideal place for a relaxing few drinks. Comfy sofas, plenty of space to move around, very nice. Lovely staff, couldn't fault it.

I had bottomless brunch with friends 15/03/25 and it was brilliant - The service was outstanding and the food was very yummy - I’ll be going back!

We came here for a Rum tasting event presented by Black Tears & La Progresiva. The talk was exceptional... informative and funny and the bar was the perfect venue for the event. They presented a cosy atmosphere and lovely nibbles for us to tuck in to between tasting. Even from the moment we entered the venue, the staff were on hand with expert advice on drinks for us prior to the event. Nothing was too much trouble and it's very obvious that they care a lot about what they do. We'll definitely be returning!

New and quirky friendly little space offering a great selection of draft ales and lagers. A decent selection of local and world craft beers available to take out too. The owner is a lovely character, welcoming and good conversation.

A great warm and modern atmosphere, Jim was friendly and welcoming and gave advice about the beers. Kendra produced a beautiful cheese and meat board with a large choice of bread and crackers. We will certainly be returning
