I visited on a Wednesday evening. The place very nice and welcoming. Staff was brilliant both at the front door and at the bar. We ordered a jug of Cuban Sangria, this was refreshing and sweet. We picked Sunshine Bowl with prawns. The presetantions was nice and inviting. However, we did ask if it was spicy, and we were told not. The dish was sprinkled with chilli flakes, making the flavour spicy. The waitress was really nice and changed the dish without flakes. I ordered the steak sandwich, this was nice a little bit spicy for my taste but definitely recommend if you like something with a little bit of heat. Overall I will be back to ordered the Sunshine bowl again as it was full of flavours . 😊

Wednesday night took nearly 2 hours from ordering for the food to come out. Beef ropa vieja had good flavours, chips were way too salty. Main thing that gave it 1 more star was the churros. They were served fast & were perfectly fluffy & crunchy, rum caramel really good.

1. Our pre-booked table wasn't ready upon arrival as they were "struggling to move the loud/drunk hen-do party from our table". Those were the words used. 2. Tables that sat next to us 15 mins later than us, we're served first. 3. Two out of 3 vegan meal options for my partner weren't available. She ordered the last option, a salad which came looking entirely different and missing ingredients than what the menu suggested. 4. Ordered patatas bravas without aioli as a dietary requirement, and was brought with plenty of it on, ignoring our request. 4. My beef brisket was 100% microwaved onto dry clumped rice (see photo) The music was so loud that bless your lovely waitress, she had to shout repeatedly to us to be heard and couldn't hear our answers until we comically shouted back. Yet she was the only positive element of this visit. Absolute chaos of a business all around otherwise. This is a stag and hen night destination.

I went to a Balkan party, the entry was 12 pounds, but you get a “free” shot of rakija if you come before 23:30. It was a scam. There was no rakija. Plus they made us pay for the table. Plus the bartender was rude. Nobody was apologising. My drink was bad. The music choice was not great.

Went for cocktail masterclass and dinner for 2. The masterclass is amazing and fun, thought it was a wonderful experience until we get to the restaurant for dinner. The entire great experience turned into nightmare when they make customers wait for over an hour to get their food considering it was “Pre-ordered” 2 hours in advance. Never been this disappointed with restaurant service in my entire life and ended up just walking out because the churros for dessert is already taking more than 30mins to get served. Arrived at resto 2pm and left 6pm without getting everything we paid for. Absolutely disappointing.

I cannot recommend Revolución de Cuba Newcastle enough for their bottomless brunch – it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was buzzing with energy, music, and good vibes. The food was absolutely delicious – every dish was fresh, full of flavor, and felt like it had been made with care. The drinks flowed endlessly, with a great variety to choose from, and each one was spot on. What really made the experience outstanding, though, was our server Ellie. Bottomless was good, good food options. Small plates but filling. Band stopped as we were seated and another didn't come on until we were leaving so atmosphere was a little poor.

Horrific night club and service! Had booked a table here on Saturday night well in advance and paid a £500 deposit (£1600 total), our table was booked for 10:30 however we arrived about 45 minutes early and asked if we could just go into the bar etc for a drink until our table was ready, we was greeted by rude staff member who told us table booking don't start until 11pm etc even though our booking confirmation said 10:30. Anyway they advised us we couldn't enter early but they had a 'sister' bar around the corner we could go to until our booking so we went there first and it was called 'Aveika', we went here and had such a good time however once it was time for our booking in Livello we headed back to the club only to be denied entry because the bouncers didn't like the look of one member of our groups clothing despite letting people enter the club in the exact same clothing. After discussing with the bouncers i then asked for a manager as i wanted my £500 deposit back only to be told be a rude man and woman who was working on the door that 'this wasn't the process and we couldn't have our money back' Eventually we managed to speak to some staff member that worked inside the club and they confirmed they would allow us entry however we would need to wait outside in the freezing cold until our table was ready. After standing outside for maybe 20 minutes they came out and told us 'they could not find our booking' even though we had confirmation and a receipt of payment for the £500 deposit. After standing outside for maybe about 15 minutes they came out and told us they had found a table for us and we was allowed into the club. They did not give us the table we had reserved upstairs but instead a table downstairs where the service was horrific! The night club itself was absolutely terrible, terrible music and was half empty inside. Would not recommend anyone goes here unless you wanted to be treated horrific by members of staff and overall have a terrible night. Much better places to go in Newcastle than this!! The club seriously need to rethink their door staff, absolute terrible treatment from them who all thought they was better than everyone else there and going out of their way to try and ruin peoples nights. Do not waste your money we left after an hour of being in there.

I was ‘kicked out’ the bar for being unsure if I wanted to be upstairs or downstairs. The head doorman did not investigate this thoroughly therefore I was told the reason I was unable to go back in was being rude to staff. Which I was not in any way. Group of 11 girls left due to this.

Nice bar with expansive outdoor seating and great selection for cocktails. There was a bit of confusion on our visit that a flyer said 'classic cocktails 2-4-1', but after ordering there are only selected cocktails included, despite the flyer not showing any terms and conditions. The bar staff were very accommodating with the confusion and were professional in doing so.

This club is getting away with scamming people in broad daylight. DO NOT GO THERE!. Wish I had read the other reviews before we agreed to go. My friends and I made a booking in advanced and paid in excess of £500 for a group reservation. A couple of the guys arrived before 10pm and was refused entry on some made up reason by the bouncer. They obviously didn’t like the idea of some appropriately dressed black guys being in their empty club. We tried to get a refund on the booking and after numerous calls and emails it’s still took 2 months which eventually lead to them DENYING us our money back. Absolute Criminals running this place. Save yourself from a disappointing rip-off night and go somewhere else trust me.

Visited for afternoon tea. Food very nice, views excellent, staff friendly and helpful. But, we spent 2 weeks attempting to email and call to use a voucher (as per the instructions on their voucher) and got no confirmation. Eventually managed to speak to someone the day beforehand who confirmed our booking verbally. On arrival the staff seemed confused by our voucher and said the till didn't really like voucher codes. Eventually got that sorted, but seeing as the voucher was from their own company it should have been far simpler. Cocktails nice, but very expensive. The room is totally out of keeping with the rest of the hotel - very bright blue lights. We would go back, but wouldn't bother with the faff of the voucher. It's worth going for one drink for a look at the views, but I wouldn't pay for a second round

We were staying in the attached hotel, Vermont, and came here after a meal for a night cap. We didn't book but got offered a table on the terrace which was ideal as it was quiet and good for conversation. The place got busy as the evening progressed and Im not sure you would get in without a booking. Service was attentive without being over bearing, and the cocktails were fun. Views were great over the Tyne.

We celebrated my daughters 30th birthday recently, side room leading to the roof terrace. Can I firstly state the reception staff and concierges were excellent. We had about 35 persons celebrating within the room, we had a minimum spend of £2k and had left a £500 deposit. The general manager (Above) George was literally so helpful, nothing was a problem, as was Travis and Jack on the bar. We covered the minimum spend, as a special moment George brought out some small plates buffet, which was really appreciated. All and all we had a great night. Only one issue, the £500 deposit. It has taken almost two weeks to have this returned, I had to request help from George and head office staff. But other than would definitely recommend. Thank you.

Fantastic views over Newcastle. Service was rubbish, taken to an outdoor table, and after waiting 20 minutes for service, we left There were a dozen staff trying to look busy indoors, and with only 20 groups service should have been quick. It could do with some low level lighting outside. Other than the view there is nothing to recommend for this bar.

We got married 23rd September and had our evening reception in ABOVE, what an incredible venue to host such an amazing special day! We were looked after from start to finish by the amazing Lukas and of course can’t forget about Fai and her incredible team! Recently had afternoon tea at Above for my daughters hen do. It was all great.Amelia one of the waitresses was a superstar and looked after us so well. A happy smile helpful service and great advice . She helped make the afternoon even more special .

We visited on 10th August 2025. Not a good experience. Waited a long time for serving staff to come over and then again for our drinks. The table was dirty and the menus sticky. The cocktails had excessive ice, making them far weaker than normal. Completely overpriced for the quality we received. What is more disgraceful is that I have sent emails of complaint not only to the bar but also to the hotel it sits above. I have also used a contact form on the website. They have completely ignored every one of my communications. Poor experience and even worse customer service, they need to act their together. They got 2 stars for the great view from the bar.

I visited here for the first time to enjoy an afternoon tea as a treat for my Mum to celebrate her retirement. On arrival, we received a lovely welcome and enjoyed a coffee before being seated for our afternoon tea. There is a bar area for enjoying a drink and restaurant area where we had our afternoon tea. All the staff we encountered during our visit were lovely - special mention to Brooke and Chelsea who took amazing care of us! And thank you for taking great photos of my mum and I during our visit. The afternoon tea itself was amazing. Beautifully presented and tasted great! It is soooo deceiving - we were both absolutely stuffed by the end of it all! Loved every part - so compliments to the chef for putting it altogether. The little ham hock cake was our favourite! It is also the first restaurant I have visited in a long time whereby there isn’t a service charge added to the bill! So hopefully staff still receive well deserved tips from visitors. Thank you for making our celebration an extra special one - we had a fabulous time and will highly recommend to others.

Just enjoyed lunch for friends birthdays, service was great, our waitress was lovely and welcoming, had 2 courses for £20 and they were both delicious, the cocktails were very yummy too, will definitely be back to try their afternoon tea.

Duck sprig rolls starter was really good. Was presented really well! My 10oz Rump Steak was cooked to perfection! Service was fantastic all round. 50% off in January really made it that little bit better than it already was. Thanks guys

Visited for cocktails, was not disappointed. Lovely choice and some funky designs. If you buy off the two for £12 menu then it's not too expensive. The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was lovely

I can't believe I've not been in here before. What a place. The food is top notch at a great price and the flavours were amazing. It was difficult to choose a cocktail as there were so many! The young lady who served us was very polite, helpful and never stopped - what a hard worker. We also loved the decoration in the restaurant and downstairs with plenty of Instagramable places to take photos. Thanks to all the staff. I'll be back and will recommend.

Visited for restaurant week, a bit apprehensive reading recent reviews about slow service, but we certainly weren't disappointed 😀 Lovely pretty decor, fantastic cocktails, food was delicious and beautifully presented. There was plenty time in between courses, but not too long of a wait, didn't feel rushed. Staff were helpful too.

Overall a very nice experience. Had a Caesar salad and an incredible French Martini recommended to me and made by a nice bartender, Brandon. Fun atmosphere, very pretty with it being right on the riverside with lots of sunlight. Would go again.

We were there for Bottomless Brunch ...food lovely though was surprised by the syrup and bacon in the flatbread ...was expecting back bacon and nothing on bread...drinks were plentiful and great selection to choose from and service from Barnaby in particular wss fabulous...he was so friendly and helpful

Visited on a stunning day and made the most of the outdoor seating area right by the river – such a lovely spot. Drinks were reasonably priced and arrived super quickly after ordering via the QR code. Really efficient and friendly service made it a great experience. Perfect place to soak up the views with a drink in hand!

Me and my partner visited Pitcher & Piano on Friday and Sunday evenings, the service and was amazing, the staff were friendly and attentive. Mo who was our server did a fantastic job, polite, friendly, attentive and professional. Would recommend to pop in for afternoon, or evenings drinks with nibbles. Amazing environment to relax with family or loved ones to enjoy a great view over quayside!

Came in and asked last minute if we could do brunch and Emma was so helpful and sorted us out straight away despite it being busy. Food was so good and service was amazing, was never left without a drink. Would really recommend this brunch and hopefully you’ll get Emma as your server!

Lovely spot under the Tyne bridge for coffee and brunch, I had the avocado on sourdough with poached eggs and it was lovely, a nice spice to it, great crunch bread, the coffee and chilled atmosphere was fabulous too, friendly helpful staff too, great spot and also worth the scenic walk across the Tyne to get to

Turned up at 8:15pm Saturday night on a bank holiday weekend and told they'd just called last orders. A star for the friendly doorstaff who let us go in. We figured we'd get a quick half and move on. The options were very mainstream (they had Guinness and Kopperburg for example). Looks like it could be nice, but my opinion was it wasn't really what it was advertising in beers or opening times

Popped in here for a pre dinner drink. Great location right on the river. Only the outside bar was operating. Because it's outside the drinks are served in plastic cups. Found it more expensive than the pubs, 20 pounds for 2 pints of beer and a gin and tonic.

Fab location with great selection of food outlets. We tried a couple and would highly recommend Dabbawal Indian street food! Point to improve: It’s on the expensive side (£7 a pint), the beer selection is small considering its a tap location and the app confusing. Didn’t take away from awesome location and fab food/drink atmosphere would defo recommend 😄

By far one of the best place to eat and drink in Newcastle & Gateshead. The location is perfect, the views are outstanding. Food from the restaurant, Träkol, is amazing and one of the most unique dining experiences in the area. There's also the HWKRMRKT if you just want to sample an exceptional showcase of the region's street food vendors.

The location is just perfect! Great outdoor seating and just such a cool and novel place. Beers were fab and the restaurant that is attached had some of thee best food me, my partner and my sister had ever tasted! Very very impressed and would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Great location for a start, right on the river, with views over to the Newcastle side, and catching the sun from early afternoon through to mid evening. There's a weekend street food market too.

It was a lovely ambiance! A great singer, Sophie Mairi, was performing on stage and a nice selection of drinks for good prices was available. I definitely recommend this place when you are in Newcastle!

I've been coming here since it opened and never had less than a 5-star experience. I've been in on quiet nights, busy nights, live music nights, quiz nights, been in with a group, and by myself. The staff are always a joy and easy to talk with. The drinks are great (highly recommend The Racketeer from their signature serves) and reasonably priced. This is the place I can't wait to show my friends when they visit and so far, they've all been impressed! Shoutout to the house pianist too, who is a great fella.

Came here for my first night out in over a year and thoroughly enjoyed it! The music, atmosphere and staff were all absolutely wonderful and I feel like I'm going to remember this night for the rest of my life. Such a brilliant venue, our first time visiting and we will definitely be back :D Thank you for the memories! Prices are also fantastic, honestly I wish I had come here sooner! Nice venue split over two floors. We attended a cabaret show in the upstairs venue. The show was entertaining and by the end the whole audience was up and singing and dancing. Downstairs was a sultry jazz singer and band. Great vibe to the place - turns to the camera - Nice!

My favourite venue to play in Newcastle. The ambience is outstanding, the decor is impeccable and the staff are super helpful and really quite lovely. They make you feel like part of the family. If I still lived in Newcastle I'd be asking for a job there. Taking on the legacy of the world famous Newcastle Jazz Café, the Prohibition cabaret bar could not be in better hands. I literally can not say enough for things about this place.

A really enjoyable visit to The Botanist which is such a fun and funky place. A stunning glass dome with a huge tree in the middle of the bar and very cool decor throughout. James behind the bar made the best cocktails we have tasted for a long time and Jessie in the restaurant was a brilliant waitress. Will definitely return soon and would highly recommend it.

The staff were SO nice and the setting is quite dreamy. The menu looked delicious too, the only reason I give it 4* for food is because the fries were a bit too salty for my taste. I will definitely come back if I ever come back to Newcastle 🎉

Had an amazing Brunch here with my Mom. The atmosphere was great with all the plants and light and decor, food delicious with good portion sizes, and our waitress Emily was friendly and welcoming! Would definitely recommend it!

I’ve visited many times before and had a great experience, but yesterday was so appalling I believe the kitchen should be closed until they can sort out the immense amount of issues they clearly have as a restaurant. As a table of 6 we waited over half an hour for the food order to be taken, when we asked that all food come together (two starters, six mains). The starters arrived and 45mins later no mains. We spoke to a waitress to ask - 15 mins later still no one came to our table. After having to get up and ask to see the manager, she came and in her defence we could not fault her - there were clearly operational issues and she dealt with the situation well. However, when the food finally came - mixture of Sunday roasts and hanging kebabs - it was clear there was a fundamental issue. Chicken was dry and overcooked, roast potatoes swimming in oil, veg raw but burnt (how can you even do that?!) and the vegetarian gravy was beyond disgusting. Long story short, we paid for our drinks and not the food, however in total we wasted almost three hours of our Sunday evening which was meant to be a delightful start to our holiday with friends and our daughters. I truly believe the kitchen needs to close until they can cook food suitable to eat and train their new staff effectively. All in all a terrible experience and the pressure the manager is under is not appropriate. I’d highly recommend giving it a miss until they have turned themselves around.

If you’re looking for a instagramable place, this is it. I was there today with a colleague. Loved the atmosphere. So much varieties of drinks. Compared to the ambience, the prices of the drinks are cheap. Being a Saturday evening it wasn’t very difficult to find a place to sit. But recommend to book a table prior of it’s a weekend. Loved the drinks. Will definitely visit again.

Had bottomless brunch before a show at the theatre, drinks wise it is well worth the money but does have a limited menu, food was nice just very small and again limited menu, service was really good and nice, stunning location and interior as my only photo of the tree in the middle. Definitely go for the cocktails.

Superb meal and experience zero faults even the garlic bread was sooo tasty Raviloi might be a tad peppery for some as some of the reviews mentioned but it worked well in my opinion Fondant oozing perfectly simply delicious

Visited Harry's bar for a meal before the theatre. The staff were amazing and the food was exceptional. We'll definitely be back.

The food was so delicious that I totally forgot to take a pic. I had the chicken supreme and I Reccomend it highly. My party had fish and chips, (5/5) Seabass with vegetables (5/5) and pizza vegetarian (3.5/5) the staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating and the atmosphere was good.

First time visiting here on a day trip to Newcastle. We were a family of 3 - 2 adults and a 12 year old and got a seat straight away for dining despite it being fairly busy. There was a nice buzz in the place and the decor was really tasteful and atmospheric. Big shout out to the lovely Italian man from Sicily who served our table (sorry that we did not ask his name). The food was really tasty and good sized portions and a good variety of options on the menu. We were not disappointed and will definitely return.

I visited here for the first time on the weekend. The food was pleasant but the dessert wasn't brilliant. It felt very mass produced and not very much attention to detail. The main course of the beef feather was wonderful and so tasty. The service here was a let down. I ordered a glass of water and it took a long time to come. When it did come she threw it on the table down the other end in front of someone else and just walked off. I think they were too busy for the amount of staff they had. I would definitely return however as the food and atmosphere was lovely !

Little bit of a gushy review but I can hands down say this is my absolute favourite place to eat in town! My partner and I have been frequently in the past few years and have never been served anything less than perfection! Service is absolutely outstanding with knowledgeable and attentive staff and the food……superlative! Fish dishes; fresh, well balanced and delicious and oh my word the lamb sharing main 🤤 just make sure you don’t eat for 24 hours beforehand if you want to finish it (although the staff are very happy to wrap up for you too). All in all, outstanding! Can’t wait for my next outing to The Broad Chare 😊

Absolute best Sunday roast I've had since moving up here a year ago. We ordered the veggie roast which came with bubble and squeak; pork belly and the beef. Everything was flavoured beautifully and the roast potatoes were incredible. Definitely coming back

Pros: Good selection of beers, scotch egg, haggis on toast is an interesting take. Cons: Too pricey for what they offer. Fish cake was too dry, only mediocre at best. "Grilled calf liver" wasn't grilled, but pan fried (though it was delicious, nevertheless). Green leaves in the salad weren't properly washed, you could see the dirt on some of them. Attention to detail was lacking, overall ("luxury soap" bottle in the toilet was refilled with some cheap washing liquid that you can hardly rinse off, etc.). Michelin list brought us here, but I regretted the visit. I hope this was a one off incident, and they are doing better generally.

Amazing food and service - the bar snacks (monkfish cheeks and cauliflower fritters pictured) and roasts (topside of beef and pork belly) were exceptional!

Calf liver was really good and tasty, but the portion size should be bigger for a main. It’s only two slices of liver and the rest is kale and mash.

Not one of my favourites but is decent. I’ve only ever had food from here once, it was just alright. I do like the layout of the building and particularly appreciate its history. Not sat in the beer garden yet but seems like a pretty good atmosphere.

Best lunch deal ive ever had. I asked if it was a smaller portion because it was so cheap and it wasnt! I had the chicken tikka flatbread with chips and it was so tasty. Added to that was very friendly service from Beth who is just a delight and the chef even checked in on us...a lovely man. Cant recommend enough. We will be back!

I always look for the oldest pub wherever I am, this is it in Newcastle. But it is a party pub. Everyone was having a great time, but this is not a “sit in the corner in a quiet old pub” vibe.

This review is about the service alone, me and my partner had made a mistake with our food order. Completely our fault! But our lovely waitress, Beth, corrected it for us. She was beyond lovely, really pleasant to be served by her. Would definitely recommend visiting. For the lovely food and atmosphere but more importantly for the brilliant service from all staff, but especially Beth. Thank you again.

We booked a two person bottomless - unfortunately it was slightly last minute but the two people who accommodated us (I sadly didn’t get their names but one was blonde and alternative and the other was a tall brown haired guy) were both so sweet and made sure we got our moneys worth! The drinks were lovely (I was allowed to try an aperol spritz for the first time but also was allowed to get another drink at the same time in case i didn’t like it) and the food was amazing. Will and can’t wait go again :).

Came today for a bottomless brunch for my birthday. Drinks and food lovely but even better than that all of the staff were so lovely, friendly and attentive. Beth and Hendrick mainly served us and couldn’t do enough to make sure we had a good time, What a credit to the venue your staff are. Would highly recommend and will be back. We booked for a student brunch. Nowhere were we told that it was 1.5hrs and not 2hrs like it is advertised. Drinks took 10 mins to be orders from when we asked to order. We were aware of the £5pp deposit which we paid but then £360 was requested via email without any prior communication. Have had much better bottomless brunches elsewhere in Newcastle.

Josh was so lovely, he moved us tables so we were not affected by the wind, de-foamed the Guinness with out complaint amongst other things! He was so great!!!

Lauren served us, the most friendly outgoing girl I have met! So attentive and very talkative making sure we enjoyed our drinks and were satisfied throughout! Will definitely be back all thanks to Lauren!!

Wasn't sure on the staff at first as they didn't greet us when we first arrived on the roof terrace, but we soon found them to be friendly and very attentive. The food was excellent although a little bit slow between courses, however that was fine with us as we were there for a leisurely lunch with drinks as well.

Had lunch today we are regulars and always have the special but they no longer do it. I had the Moroccan lamb and it was disgusting, £19 I wish I had taken a photo, certainly wouldn’t recommend it. Place was empty so not sure if chef has changed and the normal lovely staff weren’t in

I had the bang bang chicken salad. I was a bit disappointed as the salad was like a bag of salad with carrot red cabbage etc not Asian veg as described on the menu. I noticed there were long green beans which were nice and chopped fresh chilli. The chicken was nicely charred. The dressing was more like olive oil which was too much for me personally. No other taste which I would have expected more from bang bang salad.

We were on our way to the Glasshouse and decided to try here beforehand. We were not disappointed. Service was fantastic and the food was amazing. It will definitely not be our last visit and I would def recommend.

We were served a vegetarian feast in a calming, welcoming environment by conscientious and attentive waitstaff at Raval. We were assisted in ordering by the manager, who guided us based on our preferences and we were not disappointed. The Batata Bonda are not to be missed—light, crispy, and perfectly savory! Otherwise, the Panch-Mel Dal was the standout of our main dish choices, although all were memorable and delicious, including vegetable biryani. Highest recommendation for both food and service!

Ordered by Deliveroo 3 dishes Chicken tikka masala, prawn gravy, paneer masala, all are sweet, I still can not process my Chicken tikka masala is sweet like sugar and curry doesn’t look what I saw in pictures. Disappointed beyond imagination. Ruined my dinner with friends. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE EVER.

Immediate impressions were good when greeted at the door and quickly taken to nice table. The service was excellent throughout. However, what stood out was the food which was delicious, fresh and one of the best Indian meals I have had. The lamb was so tender and really nicely spiced (but not too hot). I would recommend this place to family and friends alike.

Went with my daughter and we had a great evening. We were greeted at the door and had a seat in the lounge area. Our drinks arrived and we were offered a trio of sharing dips which were delicious. We ordered our food and were shown to our table. For starters we shared Agra Onion Bhajia and the Daja Chana Chaat. Delicious. We ordered the Nawabi Lamb Passanda and the Adoori Chicken Korma with House Pilau and Naan bread. The flavours were fantastic and the meat so tender. If your in Newcastle or Gateshead you must visit Raval. First class food and service. Highly recommended.

Like most people we stopped here to eat before going to a show at the glasshouse (or slug as our friends call it) we've not had an Indian meal for ages.. Golly it was a stupendous reintroduction to amazing food.. Greeted at the door, seated to peruse the menu with drinks. When we were ready we were escorted to our table. Wonderfully light and crispy poppadoms and amazing dips (they brought out some hot lime pickle just for me) an array of dishes that were lip smacking yummy.. My limited punjab was received warmly (I don't do swear words) 10/10 from us..

Caitlin S started afternoon/ night with welcoming and attentive vibes for our bottomless brunch, unfortunately her shift finished, but fortunately our new server was grace M who was friendly and welcoming, although the venue was not full, we did not feel out of place and we felt like we were being looked after. i hope and believe Grace M is a valued member of staff! along with the other employees in on 22/07/2025! The service was quick, polite, professional and kind, all members of staff should be praised for their enthusiasm, kindness and efficiency (including the kitchen, as our food came out quickly and fast!). An overall amazing experience, would recommend and come again!!! xx

Great bar, great prices and great for people watching, the staff provide a service above and beyond. Well done guys. Very good menu with some tasty small plates. A very good old style pub and a great place for a beer especially the Guinness and a wine, there is a fantastic selection of very well presented ales, nice little outside seating area which is great when the weather's good, the inside is comfy and well laid out, very reasonable prices. Friendly attentive staff. Great atmosphere, well done guys. Well worth a visit when in Newcastle.

Where to start? We booked a bottemless brunch here on Saturday at 7:30pm. Food was absolutely out of this world, service was also vv good (shout out to Maddie and Caitlyn) as they were constantly refilling prosecco and getting your next drink ready while you sip on the previous one. Great selection of drinks with the Pear Spritz being god tier. Absolutely shitfaced by the end as I never learn to pace myself lol. I will for sure be returning

Came in to see if they did Picky bits which they did. We ordered several plates off the scan and order and then came in a good amount of time and were extremely good. The servers were polite too, overall great first experience and will definitely be back!

We were lucky enough to be served by Eve at the Newcastle Banyans — and wow, she was amazing! 🌟 Personable? Absolutely. Entertaining? You bet. She made us feel right at home and looked after us like VIPs. Honestly, we’ll be coming back just for Eve’s top-notch service — and that’s saying something, since we came with a more “mature” crowd that’s not easily impressed! 😉

Just had a brilliant night out celebrating, and I can't say enough about the service! Holly was our server, and she was absolutely top-notch—so attentive and always smiling. The food and drinks were spot on, and everything was super clean and inviting. The way they welcomed us and explained everything made the whole experience even better. Honestly, she deserves a pay rise for the way she handled everything!

Had my first afternoon tea experience here, my partner’s second, came here for lunch on her birthday, we both absolutely loved it. Brilliant location, stunning interior, one of the best looking bars I’ve seen, lovely atmosphere, and really good food / drinks. It was FOH’s first shift, the lady absolutely smashed it - really welcoming, polite and friendly. Had an amazing time here, and most importantly, so did my partner on such a special day.

I just had a brilliant meal and really loved the atmosphere! The Seafood Spaghettini was absolutely amazing, and the Shrimp Tempura was top-notch. We did have a slight delay in getting our initial drink order. we had a fantastic evening. Overall, I can't wait to come back!

We held our annual summer party at Victors Newcastle, and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere couldn’t have been better. A huge thank you to Nicky, Kasia and Marta for all their help in organising the event - everything ran so smoothly. As the organiser, I’m usually rushing around on the night, but thanks to the brilliant team, I was actually able to relax and enjoy myself. The DJ they recommended was excellent and brought such great energy to the evening, really adding to the atmosphere and making the night memorable. I couldn’t recommend Victors enough for hosting an event - the staff went above and beyond, and we had the most wonderful evening! Thank you!

Arrived here 30 mins early with my wife so thought we would have a drink first but our table was ready so went straight to it , ordered drinks and food soon after , warm sour dough bread & avocado hummus, sea food spaghettini & teriyaki salmon sweet potato fries, the starter came in good time but the main dish took forever! , food was ok and the place has nice decor. The toilets male and female are very small crammed in.

Came today with a friend, using a Groupon voucher. Brilliant value as we had 4 small plates & a bottle of wine to share for £30.95. Our server Emma was lovely, very friendly & helpful. We even paid a bit extra and had a side dish & deserts too! This was our first visit, but we will definitely be back.

Obviously we weren't expecting it to be great, however we were pleasantly surprised, the food & service were both amazing & the cocktails were good. Wow, what the hell did I just eat! My taste buds are still watering 🤤 lol I got the New Mexico Burger meal deal that comes with beef dripping fries and refillable soft drink (soda) and this is hands down the best, juicest, most tastebud partying free for all flavoured burger I've tasted in the UK, it doesn't half have a kick too! 🥵 I also got a Carolina Gold BBQ dip sauce with it, have no idea what's in it but it's beautiful and has just an ever so subtle kick to it, love it! Highly recommend in Newcastle City as a go to burger stop, simply stunning! And there's some cool American memorobilia too that makes for a cosy atmosphere! Friendly and attentive staff also hungry for your feedback! Don't be shy!

Easily the best burger I've had in as long as I can remember. Absolutely love Meat:Stack; juicy smash burgers with that crispy edge, perfectly cooked fries, brilliant dips, milkshakes for the kids and craft beer for me. Super friendly staff, dead fast and amazing value for money. Add ace tunes playing and an arcade machine to make me feel like a kid again.

From walking in, me and my son absolutely loved the place! The staff were so friendly and patient with us. It was our first time visiting so we were unsure what the setup was. The food was absolutely unbelievable value and such a good low cost lunch. When we got our food, there was an error however it was quickly rectified and met with a gracious apology. Good service automatically makes the food taste 10/10!! The food itself is amazing! Burgers are tasty and fresh and the chips are to die for!!! Especially paired with the baconaise dip - heaven! My son got a milkshake also with his meal and it was unreal! I’d 100% be back and it’s 100% value for money - 1000000 times better than McDonald’s! 2 burgers 2 chips 3 drinks 1 dip £13!! Extremely disappointing! Given all the hype, positive reviews, and glowing endorsements from food-reviewing YouTubers, my partner and I were really excited to try this place out. To say we were underwhelmed would be quite the understatement. The veggie Slugger is probably the worst vegetarian burger I’ve ever had, less a case of it tasting bad, more a case of it tasting of nothing, just incredibly bland and flavourless. I’d actually recommend Burger King’s Plant-based Whopper, Vegan Royale, and KFC’s Vegan Burger a 1000 x over this. I thought maybe this is on me, for expecting a good vegetarian option from a place called Meat Stack but my partner had the meat burger - the Yellowstone, and shared my criticisms and then some. Complained of gristle, lumps and again, lack of taste. Her drink was also missing from the meal deal. Really overpriced for what you get. The only part of her meal she enjoyed was the piece of chicken. We’re rarely that disappointed with a meal but given the expectations, it left a bad taste in our mouths, and we even found ourselves still talking about it hours later. Both left scratching our heads at the hype, and what it is we’re missing?

Very lively bar even at 5 o’clock, well downstairs was busy, upstairs was empty. Looks like a good starting off place for stag/hen parties. We played darts, which was good but the technology was a little bit unreliable around the edges, missing darts and scores. Very friendly staff. There was a chap on the piano blasting out songs so it was very noisy in there. Good selection of beers too. Yep it was ok.

Ordered haddock, chips and mush peas. The batter on the fish was lovely and golden and crispy. The fish itself was very slimy with not a lot of taste and the skin was as tough as leather. The chips and peas were decent enough.

Popped in for a quick cocktail during the cocktail week event. Lovely drink and great service. Also joined in with the music bingo which was super reasonably priced at only £1 a sheet and was fun and something different to do whilst there.

Darts was okay even thought the dart boards are all damaged. Despite being extremely quiet the bar team showed clear frustration at having to make drinks. The kitchen was again incredibly quiet and food took around an hour to come out (this was for loaded fries and a grilled cheese sandwhich) staff could also be seen on phones in the kitchen despite the long wait times

Very fun for interactive darts, reasonably priced split between a group of friends for an hour. Weirdly very loud for a pretty empty Friday night, the music didn't need to be as loud as it was, it was difficult to have a conversation.

We popped in here for an afternoon pint and we were pleasantly surprised! We had no idea this place was here… well we thought it was a little cafe. It’s a hidden gem! We found it by watching a YouTube video about cool pubs in Newcastle. Well we will be repeat customers. What a great selection of beers, both on tap and cask. The vibe is really cool with a lot of interesting pictures to look at on the wall.. it’s definitely a different vibe than the usual English pub style place. The service was quick and super friendly.

Beer lovers will love Mean Eyed Cat, it’s as simple as that. It nails that quirky vibe that middle aged craft beer lovers desire. Plus the beer selection is rock solid. Eclectic, eccentric, electric. I recommend it.

Very good Newcastle micropub in a former newsagents opposite Haymarket bus station. Four cask beers on handpump when I visited including a stout. Whacky interior decoration and fittings and an affinity for heavy metal music! Lots of outdoor seating in the garden to the rear. Very friendly and helpful ladies running the bar.

I always love calling in here. Plenty of character, great atmosphere, friendly staff, and always have a good selection of drinks. Plus, I love how they share the bad reviews! Keep it up!

I love this place. So much character and lush drinks. Staff are lovely too. The music playlist here is varied and lively. Variety of tables to lounge at or even have the start of a date night. Warm and cosy on a winters night and clean toilets. Little outdoor area too which would be lovely on a summers evening. My mates love the variety of beers here. I tried a lovely sweet apple cider. Nice selection of standard crisps (pipers etc)

Absolutely sensational boozer I make the pilgrimage to the Cat almost everyday after finishing work, to drink the finest Kasteel rouge in the city. The staff are great, the place is lively and love the vibes of Latin America brought to the wilds of the north east. I highly recommend no matter what you drink it'll be the finest pint or half pint pulled in the NE postcode.

Sam and the crew are awesome, friendly and welcoming. Wide range of drinks and a fridge full of pies and sausage rolls. Live music, quizzes and other events happening all the time.

What a cracker of a pub. Really old building with tonnes of character. Very friendly and chatty bar man who told us about the building (including the ghost). Great beer choice available too. Loved this place, will definitely be coming back.

Very friendly pub. Often working in cooperation with other pubs in the Railway Quarter and hosting joint weekend music and food festivals. Staff very friendly and helpful. The pub regularly holds music events.....some are ticketed some are pay as you feel. The pub regularly hosts local groups, too. All in all a very friendly pub, in a friendly area of Gateshead The Railway Quarter..oops I forgot to say (how silly of me), the beer is varied and knowledge of the product is very good. Be there or be.... square? No sorry that you didn't make a good choice !

Found this pub while looking for real ciders in Newcastle, glad I found it. They had 5 flat ciders on, some I’ve never had before. Unique building lots to look at, will be back again when in Toon.

It is a great building, there's view accross the river Tyne & the Millenium Bridge & the Baltic. Then you enter the venue where the music will be played & that looks fantastic. In come the orchestra, because I went there to listen to the music of Star Wars over the nine films, some were in "costume" Princess Leia, Chewbakka & the conductor with a Darth Vader mask. The ensemble the Royal Northern Sinfonia was really good, the accoustics fabulous & I had a really nice evening with the music of John Williams.

Great venue. Good to be able to stand up - a few rows of front stalls were removed. Hadn't seen this here before. Made for a better gig Father John Misty was superb.

I had never been here before. Always meant to come but then JADE was on and I obviously had to go as quickly as possible. I like the space. It’s great for music and worked well with the standing. Good views and amazing sound. Toilets aren’t the best but they’re are functional. It’s a great venue though.

A lovely venue. We had a drink before the show, plenty of space to stand/sit and chat. Staff were friendly. Needed to check bags in larger than A4 size which a kind staff member told us before we climbed steps to level 3 but we're otherwise unaware. Very clean and good seating area.

Saw Adam Ant at the Glasshouse recently...what a venue!!! The venue staff are amazing, really welcoming, everyone smiled at us, the auditorium area is fantastic the acoustic's are brilliant, the area is accessible in wheelchairs, the staff I noticed where incredibly helpful with patrons in wheelchairs allowing them to store the chair out the auditorium if they want to. It's easy to get to within the city & plenty of parking around the venue. All in all I'd love to come back soon! Thanks for helping to make a memorable evening ☺️

This is a review for joining as an access member online. A lady called Rebecca was brilliant in helping me. Im currently out of area in Manchester but there is a gig coming up although next year I didnt want to miss out. As the tickets are on sale Friday but the application can take upto 10 days! I sent the application electronically as it does say you can do it in person but thats not an option for me. I also attached a note explaining that I am wanting to specifically get tickets for the upcoming sale in 3 days and asked for help or advice on the best way to do it as an access person. Anyway Rebecca had my application sorted within the hour! Which is amazing. Obviously Im not saying they can do that all the time, as it must depend what they have going on and how many applications. I did send extra information which might of helped as I am on other schemes. However I wanted to leave a positive review for someone who I feel has gone above and beyond and got it sorted for me so quickly. This means hopefully now I can get tickets for the show I really want to see which is fantastic, so I can get excited now. Its brilliant when a venue are so helpful and make it easy for you as unfortunately some places dont. Rebecca also sent me useful information in her return email with how to book online or ring for tickets so Im ready to go. Thanks Rebecca and thanks Glasshouse international I look forward to the show and visiting the Venue next year.

We recently visited Kafeneon to celebrate a very special occasion - my wife's and my birthday, which happen to fall on the same day! When we shared this with the staff, they were genuinely delighted and made us feel so special. As a thoughtful complimentary gesture, they surprised us with a delicious fudge cake to celebrate our day. The geeek food we ordered was absolutely amazing, full of flavor and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly kind, courteous, and attentive, ensuring we had a wonderful experience throughout our visit. I even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who personally came to greet us. He was very polite, enthusiastic, and truly passionate about making guests feel welcome. Overall, Kafeneon impressed us with its excellent food, warm hospitality, and heartfelt service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy a memorable dining experience.

Service was decent, food was served quite quickly, and staff were friendly enough. The interior wasn’t bad, and atmosphere was alright. Far from the best vegetarian moussaka I’ve ever had but was by no means bad. Didn’t like the fries, that’s just personal taste, I rarely enjoy them, and much prefer thick chips. My experience here was pretty average though my partner really liked it. I would give it another go.

Excellent Greek restaurant in town. The food tasted amazing and the portions were great. Slight issue with the starters being forgotten but resolved quickly. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. Three courses and two drinks each came to £72.

Visited Kafeneon during Restaurant Week and had such a lovely experience! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were incredibly attentive. We went for the keftedes which were cooked to perfection and trio of dips with pita to start, and they were so flavorful and tasty. The chicken souvlaki was equally impressive. Of course, we couldn't leave without trying the baklava, and it did not disappoint. All in all, a fantastic meal and a great vibe. Definitely worth a visit whether it’s Restaurant Week or not!

Lovely little Greek restaurant in the middle of Newcastle. Plenty of seats outside but we opted for a window seat inside. Great 2 course lunch menu for £15.95. I had meatballs to start with bread. This was delicious but only lukewarm. My partner had deep fried feta and said was really light and tasty. For main my partner had chicken souvlaki and I had the beef stifado (unsure why they couldn’t do pork souvlaki on the lunch special as it’s the same price as chicken on the menu) both mains were flavoursome and the beef just fell apart was delicious. Very reasonably priced and staff friendly.

The look and feel of this place is great and overall the place carries a nice Greek Taverna style atmosphere. The service also was impeccable. The portion sizes which they provide also are, for me, excessive and no one in our party could finish their respective meals and it would depend on the diners experience whether they are looking for quantity over quality. This is where as a family, we were let down. The quality was not that great to be honest, it was decent, but authentic? absolutely not. There were a number of key items missing from the menu which you would expect to see on a greek (or cypriot) menu and the dishes which were provided were, in essence, off-key to our love of Greek food which we all agreed on. Essentially, we come to restaurants because we cannot cook better at home and for the dining experience. Whilst we got the latter, the former - we can do better. Would I come back? yes - if I was super hungry and just wanted a really big meal but otherwise, I am afraid not.

Called in late afternoon- it’s open till 6pm and is free. Wasn’t thrilled by the current exhibitions and only 2 floors were open. The Parasite exhibit didn’t explain enough for me to get what it was about. Good view of the river and city from 5th floor. Restaurant looked pricey but pleasant. Staffed by helpful people. We took the 54 bus back into Newcastle centre which was convenient.

Loved our morning exploring the interactive displays and sensory room. For those on a tight budget, but who want to feel like they're getting a nice treat, free drinks and snacks in the Front Room were an amazing addition and certainly help make the whole experience enjoyable.

One of our favourite family places to visit! The Baltic is free to enter (donations welcomed) and incredibly accessible for me (physically) and sensorily from our experience with our ND children. Of course, as a gallery, the exhibits change every few months. Recently two of our girls have LOVED the Harold Offeh: The Mothership Collective 2.0 which is a sensory explosion of bright colours, free play musical instruments, words to rearrange and toys to enjoy- the instruments are not loud , so even with a group of children accessing them, it's not overwhelming. This exhibition is available until January 2026. Having a "permanent" room is a huge pull for our youngest especially- and even more so when it features a sensory room. Think dimmed lighting, bubble tune, light boards, sequin boards and more wooden rainbow blocks than you could need. It's the perfect chill out space for anyone who needs it.

Very trendy busy rustic restaurant with attached cool bar. Popped in December enjoyed a drink from huge gin menu and booked Valtentines after spotting restaurant and food being served. Scallops, arincini 5/5, Chateaubriand looked amazing cooked perfect but went cold quick unsure if the board or just every time door opened rush of air hit our area. Manager and staff great and attentive drinks slightly slow but manager chased up. Definitely go back but sit in upper area away from door. Thanks guys.

The toast with the mushrooms was a huge sized portion. The mushroom flavor was creamy and bold. I had the sirloin as the main course and it was paired with red wine.The Black truffle butter sauce was unique and it complimented the steak. The chips were not super starchy, and the crispy texture had you reaching for the next one. The waitresses knew the menu, as I had questions about what to order. Oh and they were friendly.

Great Sunday family early dinner, had Sunday lunch menu. Food was great as well as service. Nice, suitably quiet atmosphere despite being busy, easy to have a conversation. We came with kids, they were also really well catered for. One wheelchair user in our group, the restaurant is nice and spacious, it was easy to move around. There is one section level with the entry (where we were seated) and another section up 2 steps.

We had an amazing experience with a set menu dine in tonight. With lovely helpful staff (lily was very attentive throughout) Food was unreal.

Hazel has been absolutely brilliant. Attentive to details but not overstepping. Went for bottomless brunch yesterday. The burger was lovely, really well cooked and the many many awkward adaptations to the menu were accommodated for our very fussy party! The drinks were plentiful and our server was fantastic. She really went above and beyond to ensure we had a brilliant evening. All the staff were good, very friendly and helpful but she went the extra mile to ensure everything was perfect. The only downside was how loud the music was (yes I sound like an old fart!) At times it was too loud to have any kind of conversation, at least there were some good songs played!! Overall, definitely worth a visit, fantastic value for money and brilliant service.

Best Sunday lunch I've ever had. I had the chicken and my partner had the beef. I was jealous when it turned up and I should have got the beef. The chicken was a 10 out of 10. But the beef was 20 out of 10. Staff were efficient. Food was out quick best Sunday lunch in the northeast. Other food look good. Some people getting pasta and lots of kids with families there. So I suggest booking early. We booked 3 weeks in advance and I can imagine it fills up pretty quick. I glanced at there bookings on the computer screen and it looked really full. The staff were turning the tables quick and always sitting new people down Which is a good sign. I would visit midweek just to try to some actual Italian food there. But there's Sunday lunch is definitely something I'm going to be back for

A nice Italian. Large portion sizes. Pizzas were all pretty good. Perhaps a little too much toppings on some of them. My pizza had prawns and chicken with garlic. But there was far too much garlic on it for my preference. Everyone else really enjoyed their food. Bonus for me was the availability of some craft beer - Anarchy Brew Co.

Visited mid-week for my birthday & will be back more often. Food & cocktails was delicious. Staff were so attentive when we sent a meal back and many apologies given. Highly recommend!

Best Sunday dinner I've had in a long time. It tasted like it was cooked for me, when often sunday dinners can go a bit hard and dry when they are mass produced. It's been a few years since I was at Sorella Sorella but I definitely won't be leaving it so long next time. Thank you for the great service!

Three of us went for Sunday lunch for the first time. The restaurant was light and airy, busy with a good atmosphere. I’ve had many a good Sunday lunch and this was one of the very best. I had the braised beef blade which came with roast and mashed potatoes, traditional root vegetables, Yorkshire pudding in a gorgeous jus as opposed to gravy. At £17.95 it was worth every penny and was absolutely delicious. The other two members of our party both had pasta dishes which were very good. We had several glasses of nice wine and a beer and the bill came to around £70. Looking forward to going back soon and would highly recommend a visit.

We had an excellent family dinner at 5:00 PM on a Wednesday evening. From the moment we walked in, the front-of-house staff and servers were welcoming and clearly enjoyed being there—it really made our visit special. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was just right. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. This was our second visit, and it was even better than the first. We’ll definitely be back for another great experience.

We had a lovely time at City Tavern. We had a yummy lunch, including gluten free beer on tap. Lots of gluten free and vegetarian food options available. The vibe inside was lovely and the staff were really really nice and very attentive!! There was free wifi, free charging ports and very comfy chairs. An added bonus is that they show movies for free at 2pm, 5pm and 8pm everyday on their giant outdoor screen!! Such a great vibe, definitely recommend as a stop in during a day in Newcastle.

We had the upstairs for a private event, but the whole of the tavern was gorgeous and fun! The decor was neat, the drinks fresh, and the service impeccable. Fair warning - they aren't joking about the 'giant' Yorkshire pudding, it spans a huge dinner plate!

Absolutely fantastic venue. I organised a scavenger hunt at work and wanted to hide some challenges round the pub. I didn't call ahead, just turned up on the day, hoping they would accommodate. The manager on shift helped out and even joined in by hiding a challenge himself. Super service!!!! I have been here a number of times now, and enjoyed every visit.

Wow, why haven't I ever been here before. Great pub and eatery in the middle of Newcastle. real home cooked food and an array of beverages alcoholic and non alcoholic. Plenty of choice for meat eaters and vegan options. Portions huge!! Staff were lovely and friendly, atmosphere was great too. Decor was fab, so well done. Definitely recommend to anyone. Two meals and two drinks for just over £40 about the going rate now for everywhere. Food was nice (Cajun chicken burger, Slaw, Chips) wasn't much choice from the menu which is sometimes a good thing, veggie options are limited. Service was quick and efficient, still not sure why they have a perspex cover infront of the till which make communication with staff at the bar weird. Someone at the bar asked for Crayon's and to my surprise behind me there was what appeared to be a kids bday party?? it's a pub not a crèche what's wrong this these People? at one point some parents left their kids to leave the pub?? Mind boggles. It's definitely something I've noticed eating out in town these days people are treating pubs as playgrounds for their kids.

Avoid, been for lunch today and spent £47 on 2 sandwiches with chips and 2 drinks. Beef was tough with watery gravy and the fish fingers sandwich had next to no fish in it just batter, definitely not homemade bread and they even managed to make the chips bland. The waiter avoided us once the food arrived and we noticed they only cleared plates once customers had left. Obviously not wanting to hear complaints. As we left 3 lady's were sending back their meals, really wished we had done the same. Expensive drinks and rubbish food would not recommend.

What a fantastic roast dinner. One of the best I’ve ever had. Beef cooked to perfection. Giant yorkshires and the red cabbage was something special. The best bit? The doggo din dins. 🐾

Great little gem in the centre of Newcastle. We didn’t pre booked (which I highly recommend), but staff was very accommodating to find us a table. Food was excellent, great selection of local Gin and Ales. No blaring music is great bonus.

Nice mixed sunday roast (beef, Pork, chicken) With mash, Yorkshire pudding, gravy, veggies.. For 20£ - IPA 7£ Ordering at 17h30, it was sad they told us we could not get dessert anymore as the kitchen was closed when we asked for it at 18h20 while noone asked if we wanted some.. Friendly waiters.

Love this place. Lovely food, kind staff and great atmosphere. I always come back. It has two floors, and two terraces. Good for walk-ins and you can also reserve tables. Very recommended

We went to The Bridge Tavern for lunch with our son. The two bartenders were very friendly and chatted to us. They were helpful in suggesting choices from the menu and yelling us about their experiences of Newcastle. Both of them were exceptional ambassadors for the town and for the pub. The food was lovely.

The catalyst for the cocktail making scene the alchemist is exactly what you expect, boujee cocktails but at a very high price. There is a lot of selection on the menu for drinks & something for everyone. Plus if your abit of a plain Jane, they do pornstar martinis as well. Most drinks have a little bit of their own spin to them & its nice place to go for a date. Had a dj on as we went on a Saturday night & he played some decent music to fit the vibe of the place. Definitely would recommend going the alchemist but there are also other unique cocktail bars in newcastle.

After having a pretty crap experience at another place, me and my friend decided to try this one as we were passing and what a great idea! The bartender, Lilly, was absolutely fantastic! She was fast, passionate, so friendly and was just mesmerising to watch. She was making so many different cocktails continuously and it was just amazing, and they were all delicious! Couldn't recommend this place more. Great atmosphere, great staff, great cocktails. Brilliant. Promote that girl!

Both the Halloumi fries and the Chicken in a Basket (Spicy Glazed) were excellent (especially the Chilli Jam served with the Halloumi). The waitress Amelia was incredible with the table being constantly attended to. There was an extensive cocktail and drink selection and the restaurant/bar itself was aesthetic with very enthusiastic and friendly staff overall - would highly recommend when in Newcastle.

I just had a superb experience! The service from AJ was top-notch—friendly and welcoming, which really set the tone. The drinks were spot on, especially the Bong Voyage and Colour Change 1—exactly what I expected. Everything from the food to the atmosphere was perfect, and I can't fault a single thing. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and seated straight away. The table location was nice, although a little too hot at first – but before we even mentioned it, a lovely manager noticed and offered us a cooler spot. Such a thoughtful gesture, and it really set the tone for the evening. The waiters were all very friendly and attentive, especially ours (I wish I had caught his name). The atmosphere is cozy yet stylish, with interior design that really stands out. All the little details – from the glasses and cutlery to the décor – make it feel special, and the seating was incredibly comfortable. The food itself was fine, but the real star of the show was the cocktails – mine was absolutely incredible. In my opinion, The Alchemist shines more as a cocktail destination than a dining spot, but overall the experience was really pleasant and definitely worth the visit.

All staff went above and beyond, George is a credit to the company and we're so sad he's leaving. The area manager also went above and beyond for us too as it was my friends 30th birthday. Food was outstanding and all staff so lovely and smiley. I will 100% be returning for your amazing brunch! 10/10 one of the best in newcastle and we've been to nearly all of them over the years!

The service and ambience was great. We went in for the vibe and it was perfect. The food was alright, not a fan of Japanese food so my review wouldn’t be great. Definitely overpriced though as the portion sizes were tiny. They say it was halal, but they don’t know what that means, there’s cross contamination and they don’t know that doesn’t work.

Great location with a cool atmosphere! Like previous reviews state, the restaurant area did get loud due to the bar patrons. The wings were really great. Unfortunately, the salmon was severely overcooked which was disappointing. I will return but will try a different main.

We went to Aveika yesterday and tried their 3-course set menu. Amazing chicken sushi and spring rolls. We ordered beef skewers and mini sliders. The taste was on the point. They have best sticky toffee pudding in the Newcastle (10/10). Halal friendly. Go there if you love sushi 💯

Went here last weekend as recommended by a friend. The place itself is very well done out inside as a bar on lower floor with dance floor and restaurant upstairs. Reserved a table which I’d recommend as it was full by about 8:30. Our drinks were ordered quickly, but as two groups were just before us and ordered cocktails they took some time to arrive. Waitress couldn’t be more apologetic and knew they were taking longer than normal. All the dishes were incredible. Definitely recommend the small plate starters and sharing them out between you. After these, the mains proved to be a very good size. Desserts were also very good. Would recommend. The thing that stood out was the service, Martina was exceptional. Very polite and quiet with requests within her control.

Great food and drink. 10% service charge is added to the bill - this is apparently not discretionary, but our server confirmed that the staff do at least benefit from the charge. The staff are constantly on the go, so it's perhaps understandable that errors creep in. The problem for the diner then becomes one of having to pay 10% whether the service was excellent or below par, rather than making a discretionary payment based on the actual value of the service...

I was treated as if I was a SOMEBODY. I was afforded first class service and very nice high quality food. Very good value for money on the set menu.

The Hudson is a gem! The food was simply divine, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented—a true culinary delight. The service was impeccable, professional yet warm. The atmosphere is chic and inviting. Everything felt high-end and special. I can't wait to return for another fantastic dining experience!

Popped in for some cocktails while my parents were visiting and they were delightful. The staff member at the bar took their time making them, but it was worth it as they tasted delicious! We didn't eat here, but saw some roast dinners going past and they looked great!

Visited Friday 20th Sept 24 for dinner at 6pm.. we had made reservations and was seated by a pleasant young waitress. The restaurant was fairly quiet at this point. The food was absolutely amazing and would definitely recommend on this basis. However as the restaurant became increasingly busy the two waitresses were literally ran off their feet. I felt really sorry for them as some diners were getting short with them as they were seated at tables that hadn’t been cleaned, orders hadn’t been taken etc. in our case we couldn’t fault the food at all 10/10! But we got fed up waiting for our bill after 30 mins of asking for it and just went to the welcome station to pay. In all fairness the manager explained that staff had been sent to the hotel to support which left the restaurant short staffed.

Potato leek soup was creamy and very delicious. I have never eaten such a tasty soup before. Chicken curry with jasmine rice was perfect and Roasted salmon with quinoa no complaints. I highly recommend 👌this place.

Came here for breakfast, food took over 30 minutes to arrive and after 20 minutes of waiting was then informed one of the items ordered was not available. When the food got to the table it was cold, there was shell in the scrambled eggs and a long hair in the food. Service was okay. Would not recommend.

Horrendous experience! Go elsewhere. Service dreadful, menu is really poor if you like your meal to contain meat or fish, but ideal for vegetarians! We waited ages for the starters to come and then only half arrived…. Another 15 minutes later and the rest were brought to the table… the garlic flatbread was disgusting, and didn’t taste cooked, the rest was very mediocre. An eternity later, the mains were brought out… 3 of us had ordered salmon teriyaki but they decided to bring salmon salad bowl instead 😳….which in itself was just bizarre- a salad bowl consisted of just cucumber tomatoes and mango !!!! The salmon itself was beautiful but wasn’t what was ordered. Other meals ordered were poor - chips undercooked and truffle fries without the truffle 🤷‍♀️.. By the time they brought the sauces my husband had 5 chips left! Drink service was consistent with the food service - just dreadful. All in all, a dreadful meal with dreadful service.

Grey’s Monument is a must-see landmark in Newcastle! The statue itself is impressive, standing tall and offering a striking view over the city. The surrounding area is always lively, with street performers, local vendors, and plenty of people passing by, giving it a vibrant atmosphere. It’s a great spot to take in the sights, people-watch, or simply enjoy the historic significance of the monument.

A great meeting place where you’ll often find people playing music, waiting for friends and hanging out. The brilliant thing about the monument is you can climb up inside and see the incredible views at the top. It’s 163/4 steps to the top snd the tours happen infrequently, you can find out more about them through NGI (Newcastle Gateshead initiative). The tours are excellent snd guides are volunteers who are very knowledgable about the cities history, definitely recommend booking one if you can.

It's at the centre of the city centre surrounded by beautiful buildings. There is no way you can miss this beautiful structure and wonder. Around it the area is buzzing with eateries, shopping centres and talented musicians who sing or add music to the street.

Great part of Newcastle. What's not to love. Great restaurants, galleries, great little theatre at Quayside, good metro and friendly people.

Grey's Monument is a historic monument in central Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is nice to hang out on this street, crowded with people, which is what distinguishes it. There are many restaurants and cafes along the street as well as a shopping centre. The metro station is nearby and the place can be reached easily.

Amazing historic column in the centre of Newcastle, stunning views from street level as well as from top. Absolutely favorite in Newcastle, just get there in the evening, sit near the monument and the whole town rotates around you. There are restaurants available nearby as well. Bus stops are a stone throws away and you can see down the grey street till the theater which leads down to Quay side. Wonderful place.

The monument is impressive as the whole street. The old architectures along the Grey Street are so magnificent, when walking along it, I was like stroking in 19 century. If it was not because of the cloudy, I believe the sunlight shines on the stones would be stunning. The first buildings on either side of Grey Street are very beautiful. Any corner or pillar can make excellent backgrounds for photoshoots.

It's local to where I live. You can find almost every branded store. Eat, drink, play and have fun alone, with your partner, family or small and big group. Must visit place if you are in Newcastle.

Really helpful staff. Had great help from a young style advisor in the women's clothing department when I was looking for a dress for my husband's Celebration Of Life recently. Very patient, she found lots of suitable and flattering dresses in my style and helped me whittle them down to the best one for my figure type. Haberdashery always helpful too, though a rather small range of what I need. 🙂‍↔️

Yes, nice place, lots of places to visit for retail therapy! Easy to navigate your way around and a wide range of shops to suit all tastes are situated here. Very clean and some units look very upmarket. Overall just nice to wander round when killing some time.

Great shopping mall. Clean & shiny. A big car park make it more easy for shopping. This place is not only full of chained branded store but local as well. Also good choice of restaurants, cafés, Bars, eateries etc. All under one roof spreading on two floors. Clean toilets. It’s not only busy in day light for shopping but have almost everything for a great night out. Located in right in city heart n traveling by Metro making it a great entertainment centre.

It's a huge shopping centre with national brands. You could be anywhere. Didn't notice any independent shops. Not a criticism. This is how these places are.

We had an amazing time tonight for a friends birthday. Diego was very attentive and lovely throughout the whole evening. Appalling! Worst Sunday dinner I've ever had. Loads missing off menu, No desserts. Floor staff were nice but kitchen staff clearly have absolutely no idea what they're doing. Very poor for a city centre venue. Dont waste your time or money. Other tables walked out while we were there. The food was cold and undercooked. The beef was cheap pulled beef in gravy. Yorkshire puddings had paper stuck to the bottom. The gravy was like water. Mash potato just tasted of pepper. We seen a few bad reviews but still risked going, please dont make the same mistake!

It all started well with the starters, we ordered the sticky chicken and Asian pork bites which were really good but then our dinners came. We ordered two beef dinners and they asked how we wanted the beef to be cooked, we both asked for medium (pink) when the dinners were served on the smallest plate in the world the beef was extremely overcooked, chewy and could tell it was a cheap cut of beef, lumpy turnip, burnt to a crisp Yorkshire pudding and roasties which you couldn’t cut into they were so hard. Tasteless dinner which is the worst dinner we’ve had in Newcastle. Luckily it was 50% off the Sunday menu and I can now understand why, but if I was paying £19 (full price) for one Sunday lunch of the standard we received I wouldn’t pay it. The staff were kind, friendly and attentive just a shame that the food isn’t up to scratch.

Disappointed we came for a work night out and the bar tenders refused to serve us for no good reason, purely out of a petty personal vengeance? we were a large group of people ready to have a few drinks and have a good night and to have members of staff be not only dismissive but actually aggressive was incredibly upsetting. will not be back and did not feel safe especially as young women!

The venue is nicely tucked away in a little alley way next to a market. The staff are friendly, the quality and variety of cocktails are great. The prices are reasonably. The venue has a good vibe and interesting decor. If your in Newcastle and looking for a good place to get some drinks...here is a good place to start.

Lovely idea of boozy afternoon tea and serving cocktails in teapots, but unfortunately at 2pm on Saturday the place got so busy, that we had to remind the staff about each of our drinks. Initially they said they would be coming to our table to check in with us and see what cocktail we want next, but unfortunately this didn't happen and we had to be catching the staff ourselves multiple times. We saw they were understaffed and very busy during that time, but this was disappointing still. Not a very afternoon tea atmosphere.

Wonderful bar with live music even on a Wednesday night. Atmosphere and service were fantastic. Good value 2 for £15 cocktails with interesting options that make you want to try everything on the menu! Will definitely return next time I'm in Newcastle. Music was great and just what I needed.

Was told about this place for an after dinner drink and live music. Very well decorated and cosy surroundings, bit of a gentleman lounge bar feeling. Great place to finish off the Sunday evening, and the singer on stage, Dave Lynas, was amazing and played quite a catalogue of music. Staff were coming around every so often to take drink orders, so they didn't even have to move. Massive selection of drinks and deals on cocktails too.

Wow, wow, wow!!! This place is just astonishing. My first time visiting here today and I love it. The decor is beautiful with a good combination of lighting, plants and quirky furniture. The staff were lovey and so helpful and I had the most delicious cocktail ever which was a happy ever after. This was followed up by a strong but not forgotten which was delicious also. I would strongly recommend this place for a good drink and it offers sessions to attend cocktail making classes.

I stumbled upon this unique place tonight when I was with friends - thinking it was just another bar before I entered I was amazed by the interiors and feel of the place. I felt like I’d stepped into a sailor’s 1800’s vortex - I LOVED IT! Ordering a Spicy margarita and a Orange Margarita (Margarita Mondays) they were brilliant and so we later ordered a second drink (more margaritas!) The bar wasn’t too busy with a chilled vibe about the place, with an attentive bar lady named Emma- was perfect for a casual Monday drink. Think I have found my new favourite bar! Affordable, good location, tasty and unique atmosphere 10/10.

Be wary if paying by cash for your drink! There was table service, but as I didn't want to stop and count a lot of small coins, I just handed over a 5 pound note. I assumed the server would come back with my change, but he never did, so I ended up paying £5 for a half pint of Pepsi Max that was worth £2.90!

Great atmosphere 👌 2 good acts on tonight a pianist who played some cracking tunes and when we returned a few hours later a guitarist who also played some brill songs Dave Lynas I think he was called... very good.

Large open bar , good priced beers, great for afternoon drinkers if you like a bit of a chat with the locals, and watch the racing .

Busy pub cheapest for a pint £2.55 and it opens at 9am . Great if your looking for an early drink.

First time in this bar in the 22 years I have lived in the UK. It had such a reputation for being rough as a chip. It can't be further from the truth. Amazing community of people who clearly have history together. The place is friendly, drinks are a good price. Staff friendly and happy. The entertainment was good. If your passing drop in.

Great atmosphere for a Thursday evening busy downstairs as was upstairs.

Good place for karaoke, very cheap drinks, crowd is generally okay. The place has a reputation for being a bit rough however you will get no trouble unless you're looking for it, noticed very few altercations here, many places are worse in this respect. The crowd is very responsive to the karaoke singers, definitely give it a go if you like a good sing.

Love this place and its location. Indoors quite traditional britisk pub. Decent selection of taps including cask. Large outdoor seating area, so specially on a nice sunny day its really nice here. They do serve food here. I had a german hot dog which was quite nice.

Food great. The one thing that I can't look past is that when it's busy they don't just let people wait at the bar in conventional fashion. We need to stop normalising single file queues (which often stretch way out of the door at busy times). Bars are designed as such that people stand along the length of it. If I want a drink I shouldn't have to leave the building.

I was introduced to the Tyne Bar in 2018. It was good to be back! Authentic is overused but this place is genuinely the real deal. Situated between the canal and the River Tyne, almost a hidden gem, but with plenty of locals to feed the atmosphere. We sat outside with drinks and home made brownies. Highly recommended 👏👏👏

Great place to eat and drink with a lovely view from the beer gardens. A group of us came by on Saturday and they kindly served us right away and got us fed quickly. Would definitely recommend 👌🏼

I sat outside on a quiet early autumn afternoon in the sun. Really relaxing, with a gentle breeze. The beer is very well kept and I couldn't fault the selection. Staff were excellent. Very welcoming and helpful. Not expensive and close enough to the centre to be a pleasant walk along the river. Definitely recommend here and will be back.

Visited Wednesday. Basking in the sun in the beer garden to the side, friendly staff. Very quick to get served as was very busy due to sunny rare days we having as of late. Cider never tasted so good. Big shout out goes to the young lass with dark hair who grafted the delivery that afternoon like a machine in the heat then offered the two delivery blokes a drink!! ☀️🍻

Decent little pub and great for sitting in the sun with a drink. The venue itself is relatively small and the majority of the seating is outside...there was spill over onto the lawn on one side. Punters following the sun. I would defo go back.

Staff are all lovely and welcoming. The outdoor beer garden is lush and often has live music and rapper dancers. The eclectic mix of live music,comedy and special events are always top quality. I highly recommend this place it's everything you want from a traditional pub with a warm welcome and when autumn winter comes around the cosiness of a real fire .

Wednesday 24th September 2025 This pub is deceptive looking from the outside looks 19oos and inside it is a lot older feel to it It has a unspoilt feeling It has a great frontage outdoor drinking area. The landlord is a gentleman that truly understands real ales. There's 5 spectacular real ales on from locally and in some cases obscure breweries When in Newcastle this pub for real ale drinkers is a must to drink in Go in

We went with our Morris ‘side’ for a get together with many of the other Morris Dance sides in the region . A good night was had by all those dancing and spectating . Food is limited to bar snacks but excellent range of beers and ciders . We were all with friends and enjoying dancing together on a summer’s evening . So atmosphere was great …. Even the ‘civilians’ enjoyed themselves

Sanctimonious bar maid got the 'wrong end of the stick' of a private conversation and asked us to leave. I've been to this excellent pub many times over the last decade but won't be back.

Can't believe first visit to this pub, reason being where it is located, a bit off track from other pubs. In saying that, it's only a 10 minute walk from Byker metro station. Good old fashioned boozer, with an excellent atmosphere in a good location in Ouseburn. Reasonable selection of drinks and decent prices. When back in Newcastle again, will attempt to walk to Ouseburn and visit again.

We are staying in the hotel connected and ate our evening meal in here. The food wad delicious, we had burgers and cocktails. Our waitress Georgina was lovely and her service was excellent, fantadtic member of the team :) Edit: I took a few chips of my partners plate just incase people think the portion size is small it absolutely wasnt.

Popped into Shark Club Gastro Bar in Newcastle for lunch with a mate, and it was a proper treat! Their wings are the star- tender, juicy, and perfectly marinated. We split a platter with Korean and BBQ flavors, both absolute bangers. Couldn’t resist the steak bites either—succulent and packed with flavor. Priced around £15-£20 for the lot, it’s great value. The staff were dead friendly, keeping the vibe upbeat in this lively, modern gastro bar. One tip: avoid match days unless you love a packed house—it gets swarmed with footie fans! Perfect spot near the city center for a casual bite. Highly recommend for a top-notch pub lunch—just plan around Newcastle United games!

Highly recommend going on Wednesday if you're looking for chicken wings. 20 chicken wings with 2 different sauces for £14. Service was great. We didn't have a reservation but thankfully we're able to still dine. Seems like it's better to make sure you have a reservation

I've always loved coming to Shark Club. The food is consistently top-notch, and the wait staff are friendly and professional. It’s been one of my favourite spots for a long time. However, this recent visit was deeply disappointing. The security staff, particularly one with a long beard, was extremely rude and completely out of line. Basic courtesy and professionalism were clearly lacking. It might be worth taking a page from your colleagues over at Stack, who know how to treat customers with respect. This experience has unfortunately overshadowed what has otherwise been a great track record with Shark Club. Great food alone isn't enough; service matters just as much. I truly hope this is addressed.

Wings Wednesdays and Fridays. 10 wings for £4.90. Many flavours to choose from. Jack Daniels wings are the best. Must book to get seated as its always busy on these days. Not the most attentive staff but all are nice and friendly. Love the place. Edit: There’s been a little refurb inside and prices are a little bit more these days. It’s cleaner than it once was but everything above still stands. Only thing that I can point out is that staff need to be more attentive to customers in for food. It’s hard to catch their attention with the way it’s lay out. I highly recommend this place though for wings!

It is less good. Wings have lost the magic sprinkle they used to have. Decent beer, not a great selection. Service is not great either. With the wings you dont get celery or carrots. Sad times. NFL is on with sound probably until the football is back.

Absolutely appalling place. Terrible, terrible music. Think Vengaboys and corny rubbish like that. This cost £5.00 each on the door and we stayed for one drink and left. We couldn’t stand it anymore it was like being at a kids birthday party. I’m amazed they didn’t start playing the shark song it was so bad. We didn’t have food but the pizzas did look nice. Bar staff miserable and stood constantly on their phone. Only looking up to serve someone and being visibly annoyed because they interrupted their scrolling.

This place is a classs night out. Order sourdough pizza at 1am without having to leave the venue IDEAL. And the pizzas are wicked too and such good priced. Staff are niceee and music is always bouncing.

Went to the bar and ordered 4 doubles and 4 shots - not a cheap round! But even more expensive than expected! Asked for the bill and when we got it we were charged an extra £8 NYE charge! Questioned it and was told they added it New Years EVe and no one questioned it and so was told to do it all the time! I’m happy to pay premium prices for a prwmium experince - this was just a rip off! Do not recommend!

Busy venue with good music and a nice crowd, good deals on trebles and they got pizzas all night long which is amazing when on a night out (plus they are pretty good pizzas), absolutely recommend this bar if you want a class night out!

I visited this place as a solo traveler and was shocked by how I was treated. The security refused to let me enter simply because I was alone. This kind of behavior felt discriminatory and unwelcoming. I do not recommend visiting this place.

Great bar, good music and cheap drinks!! The pizza is also unreal. Will definitely be back :)
