Stopped off for a quick drink, whilst trying to decide on dinner. Had a nice vibe and was very chilled. Nice free glass of wine as had been poured the wrong one.

Worst service in Chur Old Town. I’ve been visiting Chur since 2018 and have been impressed with the restaurants/bars in this beautiful and historic city. Sadly, the service in Hemingway was very disappointing, which was a shame given its exceptional location in the Old City, with outdoor tables next to a fountain. We waited over 10 minutes to get any service and had to ask for the menu. No one came to take our orders while the next table was served by a staff. Apparently a different staff was assigned to our table and we had to ask for service to give our drink orders. No follow-ups made and when we were done, we had to again ask for service to settle our bill. We were charged for a wrong item and the waitress’ approach in discussing it was not friendly nor professional.

Good coffee, welcoming atmosphere, exactly what you need to feel good! Good prices and impeccable hosts! I will return as many times as I have the opportunity!

The décor fell short of our expectations. In contrast, the Giger Bar in Gruyères, despite its smaller size, exuded a significantly more stylish ambiance.

First things first: you can disregard the review that says you can only pay in cash. As of May 2025, you don’t have to worry about that at all. The rest of the reviews are basically spot on. There’s oddly incongruent pop music playing, though quieter than I expected based on other reviews. There’s a cute dog that barked when someone attempted to pet it. Etc. This bar is not associated with the Giger estate, which makes the experience less curated but also kind of fun. How surreal is it to see a neon glowing Red Bull statue behind the bar, or a dinosaur skeleton? Fun times, lovely staff, worth the trip out for me. But if you can only do one, better to go to the “official” (ie associated with the estate) bar in Gruyères.

Very cozy venue with a great athmosphere. In summer there is a great outside area with bean bags. In Winter It's perfect for going out with friends enjoing a big variety of long drinks, cocktails and different kind of beer.

Splashed out on my last night in Switzerland as the prices are often eye-watering but I felt it was well worth paying what I did for this meal. Everything was from really authentic local recipes - nothing I’d seen outside the Rhaetia region before anyway. We went to Chur on a long May weekend. The restaurant quickly filled up and atmosphere was nice. We were taken care of with a few slips and longer waits, but all in all good experience. The food was really tasty. I ordered hummus with chicken and that was exactly what i needed, a healthy fullfilling dish. My partner ordered a bao bun with katsu chicken and that was a really good choice too. Simple and flavourfull. Lemonade was also great, because not too sweet, refreshing.

Passing by Chur in early October. Stopped by for some Asian flavored food. We had a beef ramen, a Thai curry with chicken katsu, and a stir-fried ramen with plant chicken. The overall flavor and texture of the food are good, but they are too salty for my taste. Close to the train station is a plus for travelers.

I had some time to waste and wanted a relaxing place to have breakfast and catch some sun. This cafe met my expectations. I ordered a large cappuccino, cinnamon roll and their homemade bircher. I sat outside and enjoyed the mountain views Not all the outdoor seats had cushions and arrive could be a little slow - unsure if it is table service or counter service. Food was very good and reasonably priced (for Switzerland!)

Loved the decor of this place. Chandeliers, old wood tables, table settings, food decors. We went there for breakfast. Tried my 1st Irish coffee there. Breakfast bunch was delicious. We tried only a few. Only thing we didn't like was that one guy at the counter giving us attitude. Probably because we took 10seconds more to choose our breakfast. Everything else was nice and even other staffs except that guy.

An outstanding place, I have a Lebanese friend back home in the states that introduced me to Arabic meals so I like to try on my travels. This place was perfect for me, nice manageable menu, with dishes packed with flavors! Even the fries were delicious, they had a very nice season salt on them setting them apart. The shawarma was packed with well coated beef and the side sausage they provide made it difficult to chose so I kept switching back and forth. If you want to experience a traditional Arabic meal give this place a chance! I didn't get her name, she had long black braided hair, but she provided absolutely great service. So polite, friendly and easily helps with the menu.

My husband and I knew this was the place to go when Every other restaurant was empty but this one was full. Glad we were right! Shwarmas beef and chicken were fantastic. Hummus was delicious! I loved the garlic and curry sauces. Husband and I ordered smaller Valentinos plate and it was enough for us to share! The falafel was sooo yummy and Abraham let us try the ostrich and we loved it!!

I ordered a pizza diavola which is supposed to be hot. we felt like it didnt even have salt and pepper on it. the dough was undercooked and got stuck to the cardboard box. lastly they didn’t even cut our takeaway pizza which left us with a struggle to cut it with plastic knifes. untolerable for an italian restaurant with those kind of prices. never coming back!!
