Louie's Backyard is a laid-back surf 'n' turf spot with decks that offer stunning views of Laguna Madre Bay. The restaurant features an air-conditioned dining room and outdoor seating on a bayfront patio, providing a beautiful setting to enjoy their extensive menu. The large sports bar offers plenty of games for sports enthusiasts, while late-night activities include a dance floor and karaoke nights until 2 am.
Had their all you can eat seafood buffet. It was amazing. Snow crab, shrimp (several different ways), prime rib with fresh horseradish, ribs, fish ( grilled or deep fried). I eat two plates, one with snow crab and prime rib, and one with snow crab and ribs. Wife, not a seafood person, had a prime rib sandwich and could only eat half of it. Well worth the price, based on market price.

Lured by the west facing outdoor patio, we came for dinner hoping to dine during the sunset. The setting sunlight was a bit too harsh for us, so we moved inside. Other customers seemed fine outside. Inside had the dinner buffet which won us over because of the variety of food they offered, especially the steamed crab which is my son’s favorite. Ultimately, the food was a bit disappointing. Everything was over cooked. Prime rib was basically well done and shredded when cutting it. The pork ribs were pretty dry and leaned heavily on the sauce. The crab meat was stuck to the shells, which is fine just usually shredded and harder to peel. The mac and cheese beshumel was a bit grainy. My favorite food items were the sausage and baked fish. Our waitress was very nice trying to accommodate our friend who is vegetarian. The servers behind the buffet seemed a bit more moody basically throwing food on our plates. Maybe it’s just an off day. We all have them. The buffet itself was crammed in a corner with the protein in the back most corner which felt like a trap when other people were crowded behind you waiting for service. $33/adult and $15/child for buffet.

This is a massive restaurant. Plenty of seating for our large family of 14. We were seated right away. Food was good. They are known for their seafood buffet. I was slightly disappointed that the buffet didn’t include lines on both sides. When the place was busy, you’ll have to wait a while in the buffet line. Limited salad bar. Need to organize that area better.
Nico T — Google review
Louie’s Backyard offers a great dining experience with delicious food and strong, flavorful cocktails. The outdoor seating provides a stunning view of the water and South Padre Island’s beautiful scenery. While they don’t serve crab legs or garlic potatoes before buffet hours, the rest of the menu did not disappoint. We visited as a large group, and although one meal took so long to arrive that most of us had already finished eating, the staff remained friendly. An unexpected bit of entertainment came when a bold bird swooped down and stole a fry right off a plate! Overall, we truly enjoyed the relaxed, waterfront atmosphere and would visit again for the views alone.
Michelle K — Google review
This is split up into a few areas, there is an outdoor eating area where there is live music from time to time (there was when we were there), and an indoor area where they have the all you can eat seafood buffet. This is the reason we went. The buffet is amazing with quite the variety of food to choose from. We had a coupon from a local tourist information booklet that told recommended the buffet. They were right, it was incredible!!! There is a small gift shop on the way out to get a souvenir shirt, mug, magnet, or other items.
Josh M — Google review
Even though I’ve been going to SPI for years it was my first time eating at the beach. I looked for places nearby, couple of research I finally chose this place because it was recommended by a friend of mine. It did not disappoint.! My first requirement when I asked my friends for recommendations was “I want to eat next to the ocean” This place has a beautiful view either on first or 2nd floor. It was a partly cloudy day and around sunset, it was stunning! The food was also good. I would like to point out for the first floor there’s a menu and the 2nd floor is another type of menu. I went with family so I chose the first floor. They mentioned second floor is mostly appetizers and drinks. They do have a salad bar, several things to. choose from, salads, cold salads, different type of shrimp, fresh fruit, etc. All plates we got were good portion, good flavor. Service was good. Try it out! I recommend this place 👌
Patsy G — Google review
Went here with the family yesterday. The wife and I had the grilled snapper with grilled veggies where the snapper was a bit dry but had good flavor and the veggies looked like they had been pulled from the salad bar (which is very small and basic) and warmed up. My daughter liked the cowboy chicken with rice but the rice was very basic. Our waiter was nice and worked hard so we tipped him well but he had too many tables and was hard to find when we needed him. The drinks we had were ok but too sweet and there was live music that was decent. I don’t think I would go here again for dinner, though. Too many better seafood places in the area.
Howard F — Google review
Buffet was good food, but the line would get really long. I waited 20 min in line to get food. The server was great. The restaurant policy is they do not split checks. The view was amazing

Padre Island Brewing Co is a laid-back gastropub offering a casual ambiance, deck seating, and scenic views. It's the second-oldest brewpub in South Padre Island, Texas. The establishment prides itself on crafting five unique craft beers that have special connections to the island. Some of these beers even give back to the city's most cherished destinations like Sea Turtle, Inc.
They’ve been in business since 1995. They are doing everything right!!! Great location, Service, Food & Atmosphere! It all good. We will be back for sure!! The BEST Fresh Oysters I’ve ever tasted! We ended up eating 3 1/2 dozen. Happy Hour is before 6pm 😘
Barbie L — Google review
Stopped for happy hour ordered appetizers and two IPAs - Celia was our server. She was prompt and pleasant. Another person brought a bowl of water for our pups - we ate outside enjoying the sunshine
Jodee K — Google review
Man let me tell you, there beer is dope and they sell it to go in a old school jug that is refillable. Buffalo wings are good and the pickles with cheese curds are bomb. Pizza is legit and tasty. They have happy hour specials. I highly recommend if you want to try local beer and good food with good vibes.
E S — Google review
We came for a burger & had pizza as well. Everything was delicious! The beer was excellent too. We plan to return for happy hour, great prices.
Beth F — Google review
Such a delicious choice of food, highly recommend the fried pickles w/ fried cheese curds and of course their award winning pizza cause you can definitely tell! Amazing customer service and great vibes all around. Will definitely come again next time I’m in South Padre!
Isabel T — Google review
We really enjoyed the food, and even though I'm not a beer drinker I did enjoy their seasonal in house brew. It was great. Our only complaint was that the room was very loud and echoing. I know it's a brewery, but perhaps some acoustic tiles or ceiling tiles would help.
John W — Google review
Chips and homemade Salsa were great and addictive. Wife enjoyed her Shrimp cocktail and other item. If wanting oysters, call ahead to make sure they're not out, as they were when we went.

This food was the best sea food i’ve had in such a long time. the atmosphere is amazing and nothing too crazy you could say it’s family friendly as well as people has their kids here. the food was so good and such good quality. our server and as i noticed other servers as well were so attentive. would drive 8+ hours to come here again. 10/10

Clayton's Beach Bar & Event Venue is a popular hangout spot on South Padre Island, Texas. It boasts indoor and outdoor concert venues, live music, beach volleyball court, and classic American food. The bar opens at 11:00 am daily, offering daytime fun and a vibrant nightlife atmosphere. While not open late into the night like other bars in the area, it's a must-visit for spring breakers with its claim of being the biggest beach bar in Texas.
Clayton’s is hands-down the go-to spot in South Padre if you're looking for energy, atmosphere, and oceanfront views. The service was quick, the drinks were strong, and the live music gave the place its signature coastal vibe. Whether you're in the mood to relax with a cold beer or dance by the water, Clayton’s delivers. Great crowd, solid menu, unbeatable location. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the island.
Benjamin H — Google review
Biggest beach bar in Texas? Absolutely lives up to the hype. Clayton’s is the spot if you’re looking for laid-back beach vibes with a side of live music, ocean breeze, and strong drinks. Perfect place to catch a sunset while vibing to the DJ or a live band. Food is typical bar grill—nothing fancy, but it hits the spot when you’ve been in the sun all day (try the loaded nachos or shrimp baskets). Drinks are strong, and the frozen cocktails go fast, so don’t sleep. Service can be hit or miss during peak hours, but the energy makes up for it. Overall, it’s a must-do stop when you're in SPI, especially if you're with friends or want that spring break party feel year-round.
Carisa — Google review
This place is huge. Could be a fun place in the evening when the sun goes down. We were there during the day, We had 5 people in our lunch crowd and only 3 of us got our food. Two of us never got our food. Had to ask for a refund. Our order got lost or never sent to the kitchen staff. Staff was not concerned about getting our food after we inquired about the food order. We asked 3 times with no result. Oh well! Two of us ate elsewhere!
Ruth G — Google review
Nice place to see fireworks good food big bar not to long of a wait and plenty of seating plus live band will be back again

When I saw the sign that said “Biggest Beach Bar in Texas,” it caught my eye — and Clayton’s really lives up to the hype. It’s the perfect spot if you’re looking for laid-back beach vibes, live music, ocean breeze, and great drinks.
YMK W — Google review
Food was horrible. Rubbery shrimp tacos with no flavor at all. “Fajita” nachos were chopped beef and processed queso. Enjoyed the view and breeze.
Eric — Google review
I have no clue why this place has such good reviews. I went with my sisters, mom, and grandma and we all felt like we got ROBBED. The drinks tasted watered down and every food item was completely sub-par. “Shrimp cocktail” came as tiny thawed out-tasting shrimp in a soup bowl filled with cocktail sauce and frozen rubbery avocado (I’d specifically asked ‘how is the shrimp cocktail served? Does it come with anything?’ And was only told ‘with pico de gallo.’ Lies!) The fisherman’s platters had dry, overcooked fish, shrimp, and oysters and there was NO seasoning on them. Fries tasted like they had come out of the freezer and been cooked in a toaster oven yesterday — and were sitting on the plate waiting for us until they got ordered today. Also, there’s no way anyone was actually *cooking* anything so I don’t know why our wait was so long. The best thing we ordered was the guac and chips, which was highway robbery at $10 for maybe a 4-6oz styrofoam cup. But even so, we said it’s saying a lot if that was the best thing we ate all night considering that it was tiny and more of an avocado spread than a guacamole: no tomato, no lime, no cilantro, not even an onion! I would go here to sit and listen to music or head down to their beach. I would never spend my hard earned money on their food or drinks. We spent $15 per drink, $20 per fisherman’s platter, $10 “guacamole,” $15 shrimp cocktail.
Morgan P — Google review
Cool place to see a concert and hang put with friends, staff was cool, view of the ocean was excellent. Food was reasonably priced and decent, drinks were super expensive in my opinion, but tasty. Had a overall really good experience and would go back for sure.

LongBoard Bar and Grill is a popular waterfront restaurant and entertainment hub owned by a local family. It offers a spacious indoor-outdoor hangout with bar food, tropical cocktails, and live music. The venue features a vast 9000 square feet open-air space with different areas to relax, including the Main Deck, South Bar Deck, rooftop Sky Deck, and private Upstairs Bar.
While visiting S.P.I. we're excited to have tried this spot right on the beach. It's really nice to be outside with live music, cool air, and, of course, right next to the water! Really great views of what's going on no matter where they place you. Live music was the perfect volume and entertaining. We had ordered the combo platter, which comes with fish and shrimp only to find out the fish was dry. We were disappointed as the water was right there and thought it might actually taste a lot fresher. Shrimp, garlic rice, fries, salad, and macaroni were darn good. We will definitely return as we did come on the fourth of July holiday and understand how busy it can be. On a positive note, the bathrooms are fully stocked and clean. That's a big plus for me. Thanks again, and see you again soon!

This place was a great find for a Saturday night. There was no wait, and my party of 8 was seated right away at dinner time with a view of the water. We were blessed with great ambience including great live music with a dance floor and we were lucky that there was a fireworks show that night. The service was a bit slow and the waitress came by to check on us just a few times. The food took about 40 minutes to get to us but this is to be expected for a dinner rush. The tacos were good but not over the top, the asada fries were a good choice to pair with them. The drinks packed a great punch and were a decent price. The experience and the view were spectacular, the wait is to be expected especially if you go during dinner in the peak season.
Robert B — Google review
After what felt like an eternity driving down to SPI, we needed to fuel up and decided to hit LongBoard for our first dinner of the trip. There was no wait which was great and we were seated promptly by the waterside along with our dog. The setting is incredible and the restaurant is clean and spacious. There is live music which certainly adds to the ambiance and helps round out the entertainment. The view overlooks the bay and you can easily catch a sundown here without any or much obstruction. Service was quick and attentive, the workers were definitely working hard as they were sweating in the heat, and the place started to fill up after we got there which is always a good sign. A few days later we walked by and it was very packed with a line out front. We walked over there but there is decent parking out front of the restaurant. Now onto the food… It was not good. The All American burger was average, nothing that really stood out about it. The fries were good, which is a plus. However, the fried fish basket was downright awful. It had zero texture, just soft and fell apart at the slightest touch except for one or two parts that felt hard. Tasted like it was frozen and microwaved for the meal. On the other hand, the drinks were pretty good. We had an island colada, mango daiquiri, strawberry daiquiri, and lime margarita. All were very good and had we not just driven so much and had been so tired we likely would’ve gotten more. LongBoard is a decent bar and grill, one that offers great views, service, and drinks. If you’re willing to overlook the iffy food then it really is a great place to kick start or end off a night. Come for the views, stay for the drinks.
Amber L — Google review
Music was good, was able to take my daughter, food came out fast, but it was hot outside I was sweating. The server Bobby made sure we had our drinks always full that did help and he made my birthday fun. Bobby was fantastic: very friendly, attentive, and great at making conversation. Great experience.
Kim — Google review
Had a late dinner here and the food, the service, and the atmosphere were all good. There was a live band performing on stage when we arrived. We had the ceviche, shrimp tacos, and a vegetable plate. The ceviche and the tacos were well prepared and tasty. The vegetable plate was nicely presented but wasn’t worth the price for the amount of vegetables. It came with some soy sauce on the side. The margarita was average and the service was adequate.
Mark D — Google review
The food was good. They had a live band playing random songs. Waitress was really nice and came by to see if we were good a bunch of times. The night views are nice.
The L — Google review
Great experience at the restaurant thanks to Javier, our server! He was welcoming and provided excellent service. Javier had a great attitude and made our dining experience enjoyable. His friendly demeanor and attentive service made a big difference. We appreciated his professionalism and the positive vibes he brought to the table. Highly recommend!

Went on a Sunday, place gets packed! Got lucky since we went kinda early for dinner.. Food was ok at best.. Ordered shrimp po boy with plantains, shrimp tacos, and seafood platter.. only thing I liked from the platter were calamari and shrimp quesadilla.. loaded with Hella fries.. not worth the $70 price tag.. the plantains were good..

We were told to go check this place out by family that has been before and it did not dissapoint! We started with a Yellow Fin signature cocktail and it was so delicious! 3 of us had their vurger which was a fresh pattied burger on an onion bun with lots of condiments and toppings plus add on options. The 3 of us had sweet potato fries, French fries and fried pickles and all of it was delicious. Our last guest had the teriyaki chicken bites which were also delicious. It took almost no time for our food to come out and the staff was so friendly and fun. Live music started at 6 and the guy singing had an incredible voice. 10/10 recommend, especially if you want to enjoy some drinks and music right on the water!

This bar and grill restaurant is on the bay side. It is a popular spot for those wanting to catch the sunset view. You’ll have to arrive early enough to claim your spot, it does get busy. The entire restaurant is outdoors with some sections offering a covered roof. They often have live music. They will ask you to show your ID. They don’t serve beer on draft. They specialize in cocktail drinks served in a plastic souvenir cup. Their cocktail drinks are not my favorite, but the beach vibes and the sunset make up. They do serve the typical bar food. It’s not the best. At times, it gets too busy for the servers to handle. I’d like to see more staff when the crowd is high. Our server was very overwhelmed trying to serve multiple large groups at the same time.

Always a great place for a sunset, a drink and live entertainment. There is no table service, but the bartenders are friendly, the food is fresh and the entertainment is probably the best on SPI.

Live Music as you watch the sunset with a fresh cold margarita.. complemented by five star service and food. Average plate of food is $15.00 . Fresh Shrimp is severed daily and caught locally.

Nothing fancy, outdoor deck, we had a couple of Fish and Shrimp baskets that were Good, arrived at 4:30 there was live music, then another band came on at 5pm or so, both were entertaining. Everything was as expected. Went back a couple days later, both days had a little crowd.

Seafood restaurant
Sea Ranch Restaurant is a vibrant, two-level eatery offering a diverse menu of wild-caught seafood, steaks, and pasta dishes. With over 34 years in the business, the restaurant prides itself on serving locally sourced seafood from the Gulf that changes with the seasons. The upscale establishment boasts an extensive wine list and full bar, making it an ideal spot for a special night out.
We found this place about 4 years ago and return every year. Calamari is tender and flavorful. Order the crab fingers, they are served hot with garlic, lemon and butter. It's not on the menu as an appetizer, but they have it. It's served with bread to dip into the yummy garlic butter that is left after you finish the crab fingers. they have a kids food and drink menu. An extended wine list and cocktail menu. Part of the restaurant sits on the dock area to look out at the boats and fish in the nearby waterway. They have always been detail oriented and service is excellent. Main dishes are good and your portions are hearty.

First time here and I stopped to look at the huge Miro on the wall. My mouth was open in amazement, it's true I could not stop looking around. We came dressed comfortable, fancy place but very comfy. We were seated at a window seat, looking at the harbor from our table. Looking up I saw wooden carved fish hanging everywhere. Our waiter greeted us right away taking drink orders then bringing a basket of bread and butter. We ordered and our food was cooked to perfection. I do not eat much but wanted to try the Ahi Tuna with baked potatoes and side salad. This was the best tuna I've ever had. Perfect seasoning and cooked perfectly as well. My mom and dad had the scampi, shrimp kabobs with fish. They both loved their meals. I had a lot of food for the next day, I was going to order just the tuna as an appetizer but decided to order the meal, you get 2 sides this way. We left and took time to admire the paintings and gift shop. To my surprise there is a picture of "Here's Johnny" from The Shinning above the door going out. The girls at the desk got a kick out of me laughing, nice touch. What a wonderful evening, thank you for such a great experience.

We went to eat here on a Thursday for our 4th wedding anniversary. I of course did some research before going, I compared it to other comparable restaurants in the area. My wife is not a big sea food lover, so she would prefer steak. the view had to be spot on, and it wasn't going to break my wallet. When we stepped into the restaurant I had my reservations because I saw the small gift shop in front and several people wearing shorts. We came dressed up for the occasion, but when we walked in all we both saw was the view from the windows. The online pictures do no do this place justice. It was a great view of the bay and the boats at the dock. They sat us by a window without even asking us. My wife just stared outside that window the whole time, she may not like seafood that much but she loves being by the water. Our waiter was friendly and his service was also great. My wife ordered a martini and I ordered a bloody mary, both were delicious. I ordered the whole snapper and my wife ordered the filet. Both came out amazing and cooked to perfection. I couldn't of asked for a better anniversary dinner and everything was just amazing. We both left full and even took pictures from outside the restaurant on the dock side. Great place, great service, great views, good food.

It’s our first time on the Island and we came here because of the great reviews. I ordered the special and the presentation was beautiful. The scallops, shrimp and the rice were amazing. However the snapper lacked flavor, the asparagus were overcooked and the cream sauce didn’t pair well with the fish. The watermelon martini was really good. I really wanted to love it, but the special just didn’t live up to the hype.
Erica — Google review
Loved the artwork and sculptures in and around the restaurant! Food was delicious, service was friendly and professional. We had a nice view of the marina. Great nice dinner out on vacation. This was our fancy dinner for the trip, it was excellent.

we went in for my wife's birthday and food was exceptional. I ordered the cedar plank salmon and my wife the sea food enchiladas. Cocktails were good and service was great. Props to all the Chef and staff our visit was awesome😋

We went there 3 different times in 4 days!!! Crab fingers, snapper ceviche, Capt Skipper, watermelon martini, truffle cheesecake, coconut shrimp with both garlic mash & baked potato, seafood alfredo, key lime pie, peel n eat shrimp and seafood enchiladas....everything was awesome - food, service, Elisa(wait staff) and Jessica(bar) plus the gentleman who checked the price on the gorgeous - but whew $$$$$ painting. I loved this place!!!!
Dana A — Google review
This is our go to for our birthdays and anniversary. The staff are attentive, and go the extra mile for our special dates. The fish specials are always great but the snapper is a buttery delicious favorite and my husband a land lover has enjoyed the tenderloin burst with flavor and melts in your mouth. The plate presentation is excellent, the salads and bread are so fresh and the crème brûlée is the best ever. Enjoy the beautiful sunsets off the docks and stop and look and the fun jewelry too! Service was good. The girls at the counter were sweet… but these are the “Chicken Tenders.” **Update: They got me new tenders. Half of them looked golden/perfect. The other half looked the same. My son ate the good ones. So, 3 star for food.

Bar Louie impressed me pretty well. Me and my wife ate here 3 separate times on our anniversary vacation and each time was delicious! Their chicken nachos are massive and very good, and their Cajun Salmon which also came with Shrimp, Asparagus and Potatoes were absolutely fantastic; it was the best salmon I have had in a while! (I personally ordered this twice). Their servers were always friendly and helpful whether dine in or carry out. The atmosphere is also very chill with music playing pretty softly allowing you to just relax, eat, and enjoy time with your company. This place will absolutely get my business again on our next visit to SPI!

We recently moved to the area and have been here 4 times already. The food is consistently excellent. Yes, it's kind of hard to find but I'm telling you, it's worth the walk. Service is excellent and everyone we've brought with us has loved the food.

Tequila Sunset Bar & Grill is a picturesque open-air venue situated by the stunning Laguna Madre Bay. It offers a perfect setting for private events and gatherings, complete with a bar, catering services, and live music performances. The establishment boasts breathtaking sunset views and serves delectable seafood and bar fare. With live music daily and DJs on weekends, visitors can revel in the vibrant atmosphere while enjoying fresh cuisine.
Tequila Sunset is a great place to enjoy live music and watch the sunset! It has an amazing view and the food is worth it. I ordered some wings and they were huge compared to other places I've been to. Service was a little slow but nothing too bad. I'd recommend it!

We had a great time at this restaurant with its beautiful ocean view. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. We ordered shrimp and some drinks — everything was fresh and flavorful. The service was friendly and attentive. I’ve heard it’s even more fun at night, with music and a livelier crowd. Looking forward to coming back!

This is a nice place on the laguna side of south Padre Island. At first it seemed to be a typical beach bar but food and drinks were surprisingly good. Great view of the laguna with a variety of patio shade options. There was a stage and, I suspect, it is a flat-out college beach bar during spring break.

Plenty of parking and seating and the live entertainment was great. But they were deceptive on happy hour pricing and they charged a 3% fee for credit card and did not tell ahead of time. Sorry, this did it for me. I won't be back.

If we could give 10 ⭐️ we would!! Highly recommend lunch, happy hour, or dinner. Clean, great food and service. And the best part is it’s right on the water and you get the fabulous breezes and views 11-2 am

What a great gem for us to find. Or maybe not a gem since it’s well known, but whatever. Tequila Sunset Bar & Grill is a fantastic spot to do it all. Watch the game, see live music, catch the fireworks; you can quite literally do that all here, plus watch the sunset too as the name implies. Parking is pretty abundant outfront and the place is very clean with a nice, open layout. The outdoor patio is dog friendly which is a plus since we never forget our furry friend. Onto the food, we ordered corn dogs with a side of french fries and their Hawaiian BBQ chicken wrap. Their corn dogs were solid as were the fries. It came out extremely hot which made it a bit difficult to eat but you can never really complain about a hot meal at the end of the day. As for the Hawaiian BBQ chicken wrap, it was absolutely fantastic. We were actually a bit blown away by how good it was since our food experience in SPI to that point was not very good, but this was downright great from the chicken to the tortilla and everything in between. On the drinks side, we ordered three: a piña colada, mango daiquiri, and banana foster’s colada. All of the drinks were okay, nothing too special to note other than the fact that they didn’t really feel like they had that much alcohol in them. To some that can be a good thing, but on these they just felt like they were a light pour more than so sweet you can’t taste it. Other than that, our experience here at Tequila Sunset was great. Drinks were decent, food was great, and what a view. We will definitely be back whenever we’re in the area.

Enjoyed a nice weekend lunch here. The outdoor seating was very nice with beautiful views overlooking the water. They had an excellent live performer. Service was quick and efficient. Fried pickle appetizer was delicious. Fried chicken sandwich was pretty good, fries were yummy. Fish tacos were a bit disappointing, as was the salsa. Overall a nice place to have lunch, with typical grill food.

Disappointed in the service and atmosphere. I have 2 autistic sons. 6 and 5. Both went to the female restroom and the security guard demanded they go to the men's restroom. Absolutely not. They are children and on the spectrum. When I asked for the manager, management took forever. A clear sign that they dont care. Let's do better. Waiter took 15 mins to give us menus. And another 15 for our drink order. Never came back to ask about our drinks, we had to go to the bar for service. For the amount of money you spend, its a disappointment.

If you're looking for a laid-back dining experience by the water, Dirty Al's is the perfect spot to indulge in some mouthwatering Cajun-inspired seafood. This family-owned gem started as a bait stand and has evolved into a beloved restaurant since its transformation in 2003. Known for claiming the title of having the world's best fried shrimp, it offers an array of delectable dishes that highlight fresh Gulf Coast ingredients.
We had a very enjoyable experience here on a several visits. The food was very good and fresh. I don't drink alcohol, but the mocktail pina colada is like a dessert. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic gulf shrimp or fish. It is expertly prepared and some of the best prices on the island.

I’ll be honest I wasn’t expecting much when we arrived. The decor along with the plastic tables and plastic silverware kinda put me off. But once we were seated we have a very attentive server who made great recommendations. He was very friendly and very patient. The food was good. The portion sizes were great for the money when I came to all the fried seafood baskets. My blackened fish was good they even brought the part with the bones in case I wanted to eat that. He definitely warned me though that there were bones in that tray of fish. I didn’t enjoy the salad as it was really a basic salad on the same plate as my fish. The snow crab was great, fresh and succulent. The margaritas were good and we even got to keep the cups. Overall, a good place to stop in if you’re coming back from a boat tour or leaving the Beach Waterpark. Very casual environment as expected in a beach town.
Cara S — Google review
We didn't enjoy our food. I ordered a blackened fish without realizing it would be a 2.3-pound giant, which ended up costing me $65 just for the fish😅 I hope next time they'll mention the size beforehand, so customers aren't surprised by what they get. The calamari was chewey as well. We didn't finish our meal. I feel like waste money for the foods we ordered. Sorry! I just being honest. Every person has different taste and thoughts. Everyone is not perfect i know but listening to a customer might help for a little change. Thank-you!

It’s a locals “referred” favorite. I found it not so preferred. 1 fried snapper, 8 shrimp, 12 oysters, 2 Pacifico beers and a Mexican coke. $225 with tip. The oysters were pathetic. Stringy and not cut. A few were good. Snapper was tasty but it was $90. Shrimp with butter and garlic were very good. This would have been too much at half the cost. Seriously, go find a local Mexican joint. So much better and reasonable.
Terry H — Google review
Visited Dirty Als and the food was excellent. Everything tasted fresh! The only minor downside was that it felt a bit crowded, which is typical around 7 to 10 p.m. especially during the summer. Overall, I really enjoyed it. It’s a cozy little spot with great food and great prices. You can’t beat it! I recommend the blackened fish with sautéed onions, pnion blossom and the starter boiled shrimp.

Excellent food. Fresh fish and prawns. Drinks were also good. Fries also fresh and crispy. Service was quick compared to the large number of customes served. Place was clean and atmosphere was good. We will definitely visit again whenever in back in town.
Irfan K — Google review
We spent 4 days in SPI and honestly, after trying multiple restaurants, we were let down every single time — until a local recommended Dirty Al’s. The first night we went around 8pm (their hours say open until 9), but we were turned away. To their credit, the manager gave us a free appetizer voucher to another spot nearby, which was a nice gesture. We decided to give it another shot the next day, this time around 6:30. We asked for outdoor seating but were told “no, I don’t think we have it,” which was odd since shortly after, another party was seated outside. That was a little frustrating, but once the food came out… it was worth it. The food was hands down the best we had during our entire trip. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. They don’t have a ton of non-seafood options, but there’s at least something for everyone. My husband ordered the whole red snapper — a bit pricey at $86, but honestly after all the disappointment elsewhere, it was worth every penny. Moral of the story: Go early so you don’t get turned away. Dirty Al’s ended up being the highlight of our dining experience in SPI!

This is our second time at this restaurant. Last time was much better, but this time the food wasn't great, nor was the service. My friend ordered fried fish and they brought him fillets. Please don't say the whole fish. Explain honestly what the person is asking you. Last year's review: Excellent food, we loved the service, we were served by a very kind lady named Rosalia, always attentive to our table, we ate very fresh shrimp and fish. It was worth visiting this place. And the hot sauce they sell is excellent, I brought one home. We didn't see that there were tables outside, we would have loved to eat there.

Ceviche Ceviche is a popular counter-serve eatery that specializes in offering a variety of ceviches with customizable toppings. Originating from Latin America, this raw seafood dish features options like Mahi Mahi or cured shrimp marinated in citrus and spices. The restaurant allows patrons to create their own ceviche by choosing from an array of ingredients such as pineapple, avocado, mango, melon, and different sauce options.
I was on the island for the Labor Day weekend and ceviche was on my menu. This was very good. I like that you were able to pick your toppings and they cut it and mix it right there in front of you. The only thing that was a downfall it was extremely hot in there It needs a better cooling fan system, especially since you’re waiting patiently because each order is made to order. There were only Two female employees definitely nothing bad to say about them. They were working hard in as fast as they could for each order, but maybe another employee could’ve really helped move this line faster.
Diane M — Google review
4/5 stars Tried this ceviche spot in South Padre—fresh, punchy, and worth the stop. The fish was solid quality, citrus was on point, and the spice had just enough kick without killing the flavor. Portions were decent, not huge, but fair for the price. Chips were very oily, but nothing that ruined the experience. If you’re into ceviche, this place delivers. Would definitely go back.
Fareesha Z — Google review
This place is a total tourist trap. If you’re just looking for a fruit or veggie salad with “some” shrimp, it might seem like the go-to spot—but that’s about it. The cleanliness here is seriously lacking. The prep surfaces looked like they hadn’t been wiped down in ages—definitely not up to food safety standards. Cross-contamination seemed inevitable. In the 20 minutes I waited to order, I watched the girl behind the counter eat and drink without washing her hands once. Then a guy took out the trash while wearing gloves, came back in, swapped gloves without washing his hands, and immediately started prepping food. Everything about the space felt unsanitary. The surfaces were visibly dirty, and it was uncomfortably hot inside. The same guy who didn’t wash his hands was sweating heavily and wiping his forehead while handling food—definitely not okay. Some serious management and food safety training are needed before people start getting sick. And if your idea of “fresh,” as some other reviews suggest, includes pre-cut veggies from a bag, then you’ll probably be fine. Unfortunately, my tomatoes were wilted and had that unpleasant “refrigerator” taste. Maybe this place used to be worth the hype, but like many spots that get too popular, the quality and flavor have clearly gone downhill.

If you’re looking for a great healthy option while visiting South Padre Island, look no further! Ceviche Ceviche offers fresh, made-to-order ceviche that’s perfect to grab and take down to the beach. It’s quick, delicious, and a nice change of pace from the usual fried options around the island. Service can vary a little depending on who’s behind the counter, but overall I’ve always had a good experience here. Definitely a must-try spot if you love fresh seafood and light, flavorful meals!

Ceviche Ceviche was a great spot for a fresh meal on South Padre Island! The Ceviche was vibrant and packed with flavor, and I loved customizing it with fresh toppings like cucumber and jalapeño. The staff was friendly and the beachy vibe was perfect, though the service was a bit slow during the lunch rush. Overall, a solid choice for ceviche lovers—definitely worth a visit!

5 stars because their ceviche is that good! Seriously the BEST ceviche that I’ve ever had! Never thought about adding mango to ceviche but it works! Highly recommend! The restaurant prides itself on offering upscale mixology and regularly changing menus featuring superb Texas beef, poultry, and fresh-caught seafood.
Excellent! We love going here when visiting south padre! The service is great! I was surprised to find her chicken on menu but it was delicious. Martinis are the bomb here! I highly recommend f&b! Add it to your list of restaurants to dine at! 🔥

Our server was great although he had another customer with a long list of allergies that delayed service with us. We ended up ordering the tomatoes & burrata salad and artichoke & mushroom salad. Both were much bigger and more filling than we expected. Very tasty, great flavors, very fresh ingredients. My wife and I ordered the Salted Red Snapper (medium sized ~2.5 lb whole fish) because we’d never tried something like that before and we wanted to eat seafood. It’s cooked in a shell of salt, Parmesan, and other spices. Broken out and filleted tableside, the fish was served with a blood orange sauce which was our favorite part. Our son liked the fish without the sauce.

We had the most wonderful experience here. Best food on the island by far. Amber was our bartender and was so great. She made fantastic suggestions! We got oysters (they were from PEI and not the gulf) and they were so good! We also got the rack of lamb which was probably the best meal we have ever had. Everything was cooked so perfectly. I got the seafood pasta which was also great, but we both liked the lamb better! We had such a great time, we came back a second time and got the filet and short rib pappardelle. Both again were phenomenal. Definitely make a stop here to get some good food while visiting. We will most definitely we back!

We visited F&B in South Padre last year and loved it so much that we made sure to come back again during this trip — and it was just as amazing! The service, both then and now, was absolutely top-notch. This time our server was Janette she was amazing! This time I tried the filet mignon tartare for the first time, and it was incredible — it literally melted in my mouth. For my main course, I had the duck, which you can never go wrong with, and we finished off with a rich, delicious chocolate mousse. Everything from the atmosphere to the food and service was perfect. Highly recommend this place — it’s definitely one of our favorites in South Padre!

F&B has become a must-visit when we go to SPI. The food is fantastic, the service above and beyond, and the atmosphere wonderful. We celebrated my wife's birthday here on our last trip, and everything was excellent, as usual. Marlene has taken care of us the last couple of times and is so incredibly helpful and attentive. We've had the Seafood Risotto and Short Rib Ragu multiple times, and they're both consistently delicious. I loved the Duck Confit & Poached Pear Salad from our first time but haven't seen it since. Who knew duck and candied walnuts were an amazing pair? I didn't. Mussels & Saffron were great on our most recent trip. I'd recommend the side of garlic spinach over the carrots. Cocktails have all been great, especially my gin martinis, which not every place gets right. Excellent selection of quality wines. F&B is expensive, but it's a top-notch dining experience. We'll continue going whenever we're on the island. They really do have a passion for food, drinks, and hospitality.

Coral Reef Lounge is a well-loved dive bar located at the north end of South Padre Island. It's a popular spot for karaoke every night of the year and one of the few places on the island that allows smoking. The bar offers a range of cocktails and drinks, making it a favorite hangout for locals and tourists alike. With its retro vibe, flat-screen TVs, and live music, Coral Reef Lounge provides a winning atmosphere for those looking to have a good time.
I was so ready for this review. My husband and I stopped by this bar on a rainy day during Thanksgiving break. And the vibe in this bar was immaculate!!! I have never felt so welcome in a bar! Drinks were amazing, and the entertainment was definitely there. We even got to help decorate the Christmas tree! Each person that walked in got to hang an ornament. I will forever remember this bar, and vibe.

We had tried to go to another bar that said they had live music, but showed up too late so we found our way here. It's a unique local dive bar where the drinks are decently priced. The karaoke was fun, two of our party did a song as well. My main issue with the place is that it still allows smoking and the person at the door had a cigarette going the entire time we were there. We left when we did because the smoke was giving us all headaches. They need to step into 2025 and remove smoking.

We were on vacation and wanted to Sing karaoke somewhere. We heard about this place having karaoke every night. We went on a Wednesday night and the best time with DJ Kay. She is awesome. Of course the more we drank, the better we sound. Lol... I would highly recommend this place 👌

The random conversations being had in this bad were metaphysics, spirituality, Angel numbers, football, love, disability, body autonomy, love and loss, dogs, camping, energy, tarot, astrology and karaoke and bonfires and travel and music all types from country to rock to Adele top 40 they played it all. I have a support animal and no one was weird about it. The parking is limited but there also street parking. Wheelchair access might be difficult because it is on a slope however a standard chair could access the side door if not the front door. Stalls were narrow and sideways doorways standard. They sell pizza white castles and the space looks older but it's a great dive bar feel. It has the vibe of when Peggy Sue got married heroine Peggy Sue ran away with the beatnik she ended up there. I love it. Plenty of picture opportunities and sports music and memorabilia as well as meme worthy signs on the walls everywhere. The kj and everyone in the crowd was super sweet and supportive of both myself and my support animal. I wasnt questioned and interrogated about his paperwork either because who actually carries it around when we all barely remember to not forget our keys and phone to begin with. I loved this spot my tab was about 10 for 2 non alcoholic beers as micheladas. The bartender and the crowd has the humor of an army veteran the Ramones and Bohemian hippies made into 1. I literally met a gypsy a realtor a firr dancer and a couple from the Midwest and California who shared their stories about cancer related losses. And all these folks were the local regulars. The island itself has a very heavenly vibe you can see everything from every income bracket every country coexisting very lovingly and peacefully here. Love this spot. They have karaoke every night of the year and a wooden patio out front to have a smoke or enjoy your drink watching the star filled sky in the breeze under the beautiful palms.

The Meatball Cafe #MadeFromScratch is a cozy, family-owned restaurant that has been serving up a wide variety of traditional Italian dishes and pizzas since 2015. Run by the husband-and-wife team John and Rhonda Ferrone, this lively eatery prides itself on crafting all its meatballs, pizzas, and sauces in-house daily. Guests can enjoy these delectable offerings in both indoor and outdoor dining areas as well as at the full-service bar.
While on South Padre Island, we decided to give The Meatball Café a try based on their Google reviews. We were not disappointed! This was the best meal that we had on the island. The atmosphere of the inside seating was intimate and perfect. The service was excellent! Our server’s name was Joel, and he was very attentive and made us feel valued as customers. To start with, the bread with dipping oil was great! Crusty on the outside and soft and airy on the inside. Just look at the photo and you’ll want some too! My wife got the Seared Sea Scallops, but instead of Tuscana-style on the menu, the cook was happy to do it scampi-style for her. The scallops were cooked perfectly, and she says this is one of the best scampi dishes that she has ever had. I got the Italian Sausage Milano. Outstanding! This was a great dish, and the sauce was phenomenal (I would probably had licked my plate if we had been at home!). We had absolutely no complaints about our meals or the service. The portions were also large enough that we both took leftovers to eat the next day, and our server even gave us a loaf of the bread to take with us. Yes, the food was just as good the next day (and I might have even licked my plate when I was done). I highly recommend that you go to The Meatball Café and eat their food! Based on our experience, you will not be disappointed. I wish we lived closer because we would be eating here all of the time!

The service is great. My husband and I have been there few times and we have been with family as well. The lasagna is to die for. The spaghetti meat balls, delicious. Great spaghetti and sauce. However I recommend for the price at least double the meat or make it 3. 2 small ones seems too cheap. Delicious soups. Great value for my money except for the pasta meat balls

Wow. This place is an absolute gem!!! Admittedly, I was a bit hesitant to eat Italian food on the beach but The Meatball Cafe was phenomenal! If you're going back and forth on eating at this place, let this review be what you need to give it a try! I promise it will not disappoint. THE ATMOSPHERE/SERVICE: Beautiful. Very romantic with a great noise level for conversation, and the second you walk in the door the smell is out of this world good!!! Not to mention, the staff is absolutely phenomenal. They knew when to check in without hovering or overstaying their welcome. Very knowledgeable with the menu and had great recommendations! Very polite, very friendly, extremely personable. I really wish I would have gotten our waitress' name to mention her here because she was lovely! (The Meatball Cafe is also pet friendly on their patio as of 10/17/2025) THE FOOD: After reading a few Google reviews that mentioned how perfectly the scallops were cooked, I decided to order the scallop toscana. Let me tell you, those reviews were spot on! The scallops were cooked to perfection and the pesto toscana sauce was to die for! Very rich, very filling, and a phenomenal portion size. They also make all their pasta, bread, and pizza dough from scratch every day, and you can really taste the difference there. Some of the best pasta I've ever had!!! My husband ordered the lasagna and it was mind blowing. He said it's the best lasagna he's ever had in his life, hands down. You can really taste the love this place puts into every single dish. As for the appetizer, we ordered the fried cheese ravioli. I forgot to get a picture of it, I was so hungry, but man was it good and the raviolis were HUGE! Easily the size of my hand. The flavor was phenomenal and the Marinara sauce it came with was extraordinary! The salads that came with our entrees were excellent as well. I got the balsamic vinaigrette dressing and it was very very good. As for the appetizer bread, oil and vinegar... It was out of this world, truly! I believe the olive oil they used was slow simmered with garlic beforehand so it was packed with great flavor! EASILY the best olive oil balsamic mix I've ever had. There were a good number of delicious vegetarian options as well, so this would be a great place to bring your vegetarian friends and family! The chefs are also VERY willing to work with your preferences and needs so that you get the dish that's best for your tastes! THE DRINKS: If I'm being honest, the drinks were good but not great. They definitely pour heavy-handed, which is nice if you're not a lightweight! We got a Moscow mule that was pretty standard in flavor and quality. The Italian margarita was good but not amazing! It just tasted like a standard tropical/fruity margarita. The old fashioned was way too sweet for our liking, but everyone is unique in their old fashioned preference! Overall, I cannot talk about this place enough! EVERYTHING was perfect (aside from the drinks just being good but not great). The atmosphere, the service, the food, just an incredible experience, and very walkable, too! It was a bit on the pricey side, but anyone who is a true foodie knows when good food and service is worth the price. This will be a regular spot we visit while in SPI from here on out. You absolutely HAVE to try The Meatball Cafe while in SPI!

The food was delicious. My wife had the spaghetti and meatballs, I had the salmon with a special topping and for appetizer we had a steak that melted in your mouth 😋 will definitely back

Off the to-do list. I've been wanting to come to this place for years. The wife got out of work early and we finally made it for lunch. Perfect timing around 1:00 p.m. low light nice and quiet very romantic ish. We started with calamari as an appetizer. It wasn't as great as we expected it to. It was cooked golden brown but very dry and chewy. We were brought bread which was good with the oil and herb. Wife ordered fettuccine alfredo with chicken. She enjoyed it very much and it had good flavor. I wanted the Best of both worlds so I ordered the lunch special of chicken parmigiana and then I ordered the lasagna. The main course was absolutely delicious, everything was cooked perfectly well served and had great flavor. The only negative thing I can say is the option to substitute. These meals both came with salad and I was hoping to trade them both in for the wedding soup without the upcharge but they wouldn't allow it. So I ended up with the wedding soup and a caesar salad. I'm not a Caesar salad kind of guy but it was actually pretty good. The wedding soup was not that great, it tasted like Mexican soup. service was okay, no one was rude they just didn't check on us very often. Would we go back, most likely yes.

Though I’m I was born and raised in Brownsville, and visit regularly because I now live in Central Texas, I had never been to the Meatball Cafe. Sooooo glad we came and tried it out, in part to the great reviews online. We came for lunch, with three adults and four kids. We all loved it! The service was also very good, as we had a very attentive waiter and other staff that regularly asked how we were doing. We sat in the patio area which has air conditioning.

Liam's Steak House & Oyster Bar is a charming chophouse that has been serving fine steak and seafood options since 2003. It is owned and operated by the Salazar family, offering elegant dishes such as oysters, filet mignon, king crab, red snapper Rockefeller, orange wine Gulf shrimp, and cedar-plank salmon. The restaurant provides a stylish dining space with a full-service bar featuring wines and cocktails.
Okay, here's a more concise version: Excellent Dining at Liam's in South Padre! I had a fantastic meal at Liam's Steak House on South Padre Island. The red snapper was the best I've had on the island – so fresh and perfectly cooked. The lobster bisque was also wonderful, and the coconut cream pie was a truly amazing dessert. Beyond the great food, I loved the atmosphere at Liam's. It was very mellow and elegant, making for a really enjoyable evening. To top it off, our waitress was outstanding and very attentive. For a truly satisfying dinner with delicious food and a refined ambiance, I highly recommend Liam's.

Hi we were on a family vacation and It was our last night at SPI and we wanted to make it special so we decided to go to Liam's. It was a party of 9 everything was going great the Food was amazing! Service was horrible! Had a very disappointing experience. Lack of empathy towards our questions and concerns, felt rushed on ordering the food, rude customer service, remarks underbreath rollin of eyes. I could just continue on and on on how terrible he served my family and I. When asking questions he would response with a horrible attitude and to top it off when I asked for a to go bag he took my plate with my $75 steak and came back and placed it on the floor next to me. I have never felt so disappointed and disgusted. It would have been a beautiful evening but our WAITER JOHN H just had to ruin it. The tab was over $300. We really wished we would have spoken up and asked to be placed in a different section. I honestly hope y'all do address him on this. This is no way to treat any paying customer. Especially on the amount of money spent in the restaurant.

We came about an hour before sunset, which would have been the perfect time to enjoy a table outside, but since no one asked if we preferred indoor or outdoor seating, we ended up inside. Thankfully, the hostess was kind enough to seat us by the windows, so we still had a fairly nice view as the light started to fade. The food overall was good, with the mussels standing out as my favorite—though I did wish the portion was a little larger considering the price. I also tried the Oscar filet mignon, which was definitely tender and flavorful, but the "Oscar" was nothing that really impressed me; next time I’d probably skip it. The boneless ribeye, on the other hand, was solid—it had a good texture and wasn’t overloaded with fat. For dessert, we went with the chocolate bomb, which tasted great, but the experience fell short since the hot chocolate sauce wasn’t really hot, taking away from the dramatic presentation I’d seen hyped in other posts. All in all, I’m glad we gave the place a try, but considering the price point, I don’t see myself coming back often. It felt more like a one-time experience than a spot I’d return to regularly.

Tonight, Liam’s Steakhouse & Oyster Bar on South Padre Island redefined what an anniversary dinner should feel like. I surprised my wife for our 14th wedding anniversary, and we left with full hearts and even fuller bellies. From the moment we were seated by the window with a front-row view of the sun melting into the Gulf, we knew this night was special. Angelina took very good care of us. Fresh hot bread and perfectly timed drinks. No rush, no fuss - just warm, buttery bliss to kick things off. I ordered the Ribeye steak cooked medium rare, and folks... I’ve had my fair share of steaks, but this one? Juicy, tender, kissed by flame, and seasoned to perfection. Pair that with the chipotle corn (smoky, creamy, a little heat) and a loaded baked potato so rich it should come with a security detail. My wife had a plate of lamb chops. Pure 5-star flavor fireworks. 💥 We capped off the night with a silky, golden Creme Brulee that we shamelessly destroyed together, spoon by spoon. Just when we thought we were done, the staff blew us away with complimentary strawberry shortcake, complete with a Happy Anniversary card. That’s hospitality with a soul. Every bite, every detail, every sunset-hued moment was unforgettable. We didn’t just eat—we experienced something beautiful. If you're ever in South Padre, do yourself a favor: go to Liam’s. Sit by the window. Order the steak. Fall in love again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #AnniversaryGoals #SouthPadreMagic #LiamsSteakhouse #FoodWithAView

My wife and I chose to sit outside. It was lovely and warm that Christmas vacation. Being from Wisconsin, it was about fall weather. lol The food was fantastic!! My wife tried the escargot for the first time and loved it! I had the filet mignon and lobster tail. Perfection. Can't wait to go back. Christmas seems so far away.

Dined here for my partners birthday. We wanted Crab claw meat they haven't had any for a month. So why is it still on the menu. Simple white tape over the menu item would have promted us to go somewhere else. From that point forward we were let down felt like we settled. The snapper cerveche was dry missing something the tortilla chips were boring. For my entree I ordered lamb chops. They were over salted. The best thing was the baked potatoe and the bread served when we sat down. My 3 pieces of asparagus were only about 2 inches of edible stems they were poorly cooked still too firm and 2/3rds of them were yellow and flat. Not edible. My partner was not impressed with his Broccoli they were under cooked he ordered shrimp kabobs for his entree which he can get anywhere. and the was disgusted with the price. Not worth the quality served. Overall I rate this place a 3 and we made a pact if they don't have items we want that are posted on the menu we're walking out. 3 more days in San Padre. Hoping its better from here on out. We enjoyed the patio and the sunset with a warm breeze.

Decided to reserve at Liam’s after a girls night, the atmosphere was nice but we struggled when ordering and when paying. Service felt short from the very beginning up until the very end. Our server was unorganized and confused our checks multiple times. We felt rushed through dinner and were unable to enjoy our sit down time. The food also fell short as 3 of our friends had diarrhea and 2 of us were extremely bloated. One of the girls ordered the seafood primavera and the shells were broken in the pasta which could have been a choking hazard. Overall, I would not return as the service and food were not up to standard and we all got sick. The food was also extremely greasy.

Blown away by the flavors and quality of our dinner, March 31, 2025. From the Painkiller cocktail, generous pour, to the salads, the freshness and blend of spices was a delight. Prime Rib was prepared to perfection. The coconut shrimp and tropical sauce, asparagus, twice baked potatoes-- truly, this was a night to remember-- all overlooking the beautiful pool and Gulf. Highly recommended for anyone staying in South Padre. Bin Appetit!

My recent visit to Windjammer's Beachfront Cafe resulted in a truly mixed experience. Based on the quality of the food and the heroic efforts of one server, I am settling on a three star rating. The evening began with confusion. We arrived at 8:30 PM. The closing time was listed as 10 PM online and at our hotel desk, yet a sign in the restaurant stated 9 PM. Despite the late hour, the manager was very welcoming, assuring us we would still be served. Unfortunately, the service was slow and staff levels were inadequate. We witnessed two separate tables leave the restaurant because of the lengthy wait times. Our frustration grew when a mobile tablet or phone constantly emitted a loud ringing alarm. I am not sure if it was the phone ringer, or alerts for to go orders. This high frequency sound took the hostess far too long to silence and made conversation at our table difficult. Two guests complained loudly about the ringing, and their annoyance was completely justified. You cannot have a $60 steak on your menu and alarms going off like the McDonald's fries are done. The entire experience was rescued by Martha. She noticed we had not been helped and stepped in immediately, explaining our assigned waitress was busy. I am not even sure if Martha was a dedicated server or a table busser, but she took amazing care of us. She was clearly overwhelmed but did her utmost to please us, making our evening significantly better. The kitchen, thankfully, seemed efficiently managed, and the food itself was delicious. On our way out, I shared my appreciation for Martha with the manager. He explained they were caught off guard by the influx of guests in town for a SpaceX Starship launch and the Columbus Day holiday weekend. While I appreciate the transparency, the job of a manager is to know the community and anticipate hospitality staffing needs for major events like these. The restaurant has good potential but needs stronger operational leadership. The overall rating is three stars: a base of two stars for the poor service and loud noise, plus one extra star for Martha and the kitchen.

I should have known when we came for breakfast and the place was empty. The server got my order wrong. The sausage links were Brown and Serve. The bacon was old and reheated. The hashbrowns were dry and old, most likely kept in a buffet pan. Do not waste your money. Go anywhere but here!

BREAKFAST REVIEW. June 3, 2020, 10am. (All day breakfast served) Seating was perfect. We had a party of 8 and due to Covid-19 restrictions we were given the option of sitting inside at separate tables or outside together. We chose to sit outside. They have fans that keep the air moving and a nice ocean breeze makes an otherwise warm morning feel very comfortable. You can see the ocean waves and pool from the outside. Server was amazing. It was a slow morning and she took care of us. She accommodated every request we had without issues. Food was great! I ordered steak and eggs and they cooked the steak to perfection. The meats are definitely cooked over an open flame which adds to the flavor. Mostly everyone else had the omelets and they all said it was amazing. Portions were generous and some shared a plate and felt full. Price is very good considering the location. Kids menu ranged $5 - $7. Regular menu $7 - $16.

Known for its generous portion sizes and reasonable pricing, the restaurant is a local favorite.
Just had the best food experience at Chilitto Pikin! Every dish that came out was better than the last, and the first was fantastic! Ordered the Combo Enchilada special (excellent combination), a chicken quesadilla, shrimp quesadilla, and two tortas - one buffalo chicken and a Philly fajita. The tortas are HUGE, and we only ordered the medium! They also came with crispy, well-seasoned fries. There are leftovers for another meal later! The quesadillas came with pico, lettuce, avocado slices, and sour cream. All the food was so fresh and well-presented. Our server was wonderful as was her translator that was only needed for a compliment to her and the restaurant. Would happily recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Really liked this place. Party of four and we all got something different and enjoyed it. I got the 5 pork tacos for about 5.99. My wife got the Blackened fish tacos and there were very flavorful. Some of the best fish tacos we've had. Chips and salsa was good especially with the four hot sauces some of which were pretty spicy 🌶. Highly recommend giving it a try even just for the tacos. 😃 happy customers. Tips: Ask for their hot sauce/"salsa" it comes in squeeze containers and is very good and has some spice 🌶. They also have vegetarian options.

Girlfriend and I were wanting to try Mexican and glad we came here. Generous portions and very tasty tacos. I also liked the sandia agua fresca drink. The presentation of the food was also impressive. On first glance, I would have thought this place was just another hole-in-the-wall, but there's something special here. Locals eat here too! Plenty of food for the price and attentive service. Definitely worth the trip.

Overall great food here, definitely recommend eating here. The meat is very flavorful and everything was fresh. I will say the beans and rice needed more flavor but everything else was so good it didn’t matter to me. The service is great too, our waitress was very helpful. My boyfriend ordered food and didn’t realize it had onion and they made him a whole new plate free of charge. The prices are also very good especially compared to other places on the island. Give this place a try!

Blackened fish tacos are off the charts good. Classic beans and rice to pair. The service is very friendly as well. I was quickly recognized with a warm smile and nice conversation on a return visit. The servings of horchata are LARGE. A great value. The prices are well below the value you receive. Best tacos on South Padre Island!

The tacos here are so good. I had babacoa tacos. Its was tender and juicy. My sister had chicken tacos which she also enjoyed. The rice and beans are also really good. And the sauces are spicy and delicious. My husband had the monster chicken chipotle torta which defeated him but was so good he took a nap and finished the rest at home. Small place but prices and staff were great. Whataburger bag in the background was from a friend who does not like tacos.

What a cute place to dolphin watch take pics and eat delicious food! We got there at 5:30 on a Friday. They don’t take RSVP so it’s first come first served. Tables were distant out for COVID reasons and staff all wearing masks and cleaning rigorously. We started w the coconut shrimp, then ordered blacked fish tacos, seafood pasta, mahi mahi fish and fried fish off the kids menu. Service was on awesome! The beans and rice that came w the blacked fish was phenomenal! Loved the coconut shrimp as they were huge and fried perfectly! Seafood pasta was DELICIOUS! Omg I love this place! If you walk back all the way to the end of the restaurant, you can watch the dolphins dip up and down and take six cute pictures w the pirate statues. You need a quarter to use the binoculars they have there; which we didn’t have but had such a great time nonetheless! Definitely worth a try!

Could be better, however this place has a cult type following so there is usually a wait. Service was great. Food was just okay. Calamari taste a bit too fishy. Fried fish and shrimp combo was my choice. Fish was not tasty they might want to beer batter it to give it a better taste. The tarter sauce was not tasty. The shrimp was okay but the cocktail sauce was great. I had coleslaw for the side and it was great. Bad news is that hush puppies were not good. I recommend them using a little cornmeal and baking powder to produce a lighter more tasty hush puppy. My son said the seafood pasta was great. My other guest said that carrots in the mixed veggies taste like they came out of a can. It is always best to use fresh or frozen vegetables. Never use can vegetables because they have a very distinctive taste from being soak in the preserving liquid. Nonetheless, this place has the potential to be great.

Awesome food. One of my favorite places on the island. Tacos and fish baskets have treated us very nicely, as well as the staff. Nice view of the water too. The Scallop Tostaditas were so good. I'll be getting those next time. On a side note... They have these little screens in the wall that show you interesting facts and give you little questions and entertaining things like that. It was so entertaining, my date and I hardly talked since we were glued to the screens. I had a wonderful time, but she says I need to open up more. I'm wondering if those screens have some wisdom for me in this situation. Guess I gotta go back and find out.

Service is good—a little expensive. We had to wait 20 minutes on an off-season Thursday Night though. Portions were large and everything we had was great! Excellent place for breakfast. At first, seemed a little strange as you have to trek through an RV Park to here. However, once you arrive you're greeted promptly and the atmosphere is amazing. One of the most unique places to eat on the island. An old car bridge turned into a restaurant. Felt like you were on a boat the whole time. Food was good, the cinnamon roll was huge, the views were the best. You can walk to the end of the pier and see all around the bay. Prices were very reasonable. A party of 4 can easily eat for under $50. Will definitely be back.

Established in 1978, Blackbeards is a popular spot offering a casual and lively setting for enjoying a wide array of seafood, steaks, burgers, and sandwiches. With its roots heavily influenced by the Gulf of Mexico, this restaurant has grown from seating 35 to accommodating 350 diners. The outdoor bar and spacious patio area provide an ideal environment to savor Florida's sunny weather.

Blackbeard’s Restaurant on South Padre Island has the reputation as the place to go when on the island. When we told our neighbors that we were going to South Padre Island, they said we had to stop at Blackbeard’s. So, we stopped on a Sunday evening for dinner. The restaurant was busy but not crowded and we were seated right away. This restaurant has a great vibe and is exactly what you’d expect for a restaurant in a beach community. My wife got the Blackbeard’s Seafood Platter with steak fries and house salad. She chose the Asian catfish as her fish option. This is a large amount of food, but it was mostly fried catfish. There were three shrimps, two small scallops, and a small amount of stuffed crab and shrimp with a huge plate of steak fries. The fried food was fine, but we weren’t blown away by any of it. I got the Ginger Teriyaki Ahi Tuna with French fries and house salad. The tuna steak was cooked perfectly, had a great flavor, and it was a large portion. I really enjoyed it and would get it again. Overall, we’re happy that we tried Blackbeard’s. The service was okay, the atmosphere was good, and the menu has something for everyone.

Tom and Jerry's is a friendly bar with good food and drinks. The staff is attentive and friendly, and the music is loud but tolerable after 8pm. The bar is a great place to hang out with friends or have a casual meal.
We came at lunch time on a Wednesday. We were greated and sat right away. Service was great, our waitress was very attentive and helpful. My husband is a brown gravy kind of guy and not a lot of restaurants seem to serve it. They do! The waitress said they don't always have it, but they made it for my husband. He was so happy, mainly because of how good it was. He had the Tomahawk Pork Chop. It was excellent. My daughter and I both had the Beach Club Sandwich with added avocado, also switched out the Swiss cheese for cheddar. It was so good, thick cut turkey, not shaved deli meat. The fries were also crispy and flavorful. We will definitely come back next time we visit.

Took the family here for dinner one night because it was walking distance to the condo where we were staying. Service was OK, food was great. Walking by the wood stack and the outdoor smoker area, I figured their Hickory smoked ribs would be good so I ordered a full rack. My kids got the mini corndogs. Both are pictured. Ribs were finger lickin' good. Ate most of them and had the rest another day for breakfast. Kids food was good as well. The service was OK, not horrible, not great. At the time we went it was not busy, there were plenty of tables available. Being that we were a family of 6 they said automatic 18% gratuity would apply. When the bill came, somehow it wasn't there. Paid cash and received a little discount on the meal.

The burger meat was actually surprisingly good- totally recommend. We also got onion rings and fried calamari as appetizers and were both delicious.

Came here on a Friday night. It was semi- busy and we didn’t wait for a table. The hostess sat us in a corner section in the very back. I’m not sure what the servers name was but she only checked on us twice throughout the night. She was sweet just inattentive. Our food took about a hour to get out. We ordered the chicken alfredo, the big burger, and the chicken fried chicken. Overall the chicken fried chicken was the best thing ordered. If you want a crowded place with a long wait time for the food this is a great place.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere to it. Our server was prompt and attentive. She had a friendly smile and gave out a positive vibe. The ribs were very tasty. And prices are reasonable. I recommend to try it out.

Everything was great from the moment we walked in. I ordered the shrimp quesadillas and they were very cheesey, just the way I like them. Best shrimp quesadillas in town.

If you feel like having a pizza this is a nice place to enjoy a crispy pizza. My kids enjoyed the pizza. It's nice and comfy. This place offers alcoholic drinks and sports to watch while enjoying your pizza. I enjoyed some of the decorations they have displayed inside. You are welcome to enjoy your pizza outside too the music from the restaurants on the bay hit the spot. Wonderful music in the evening. This restaurant is close to the Farri wheel on your left hand side heading west on the island. We ordered a half pepperoni pizza and veggies pizza. The pizza was delicious. Stop by and try out their pizza. Unique

I had been eyeballin this pizza place for some time...hesitant to pull the trigger...because of the 3.9 Google review.. "Not so fast cowboy "..i thought to myself ..this pizza i must eat...and see if i may be able to reverse that weak review with a spectacular experience... Well...the reviews were right... I arrived and was greeted by a warm and sparkly host..eager to please our pizza cravings... .i didn't make it difficult..i ordered the house specialty pizza...and 12 minutes later...a beautiful large pizza covered in cheese and familiar Italian toppings was at arms length... That was where the rave ended. Toppings were good but not spectacular...the crust was anything but a good pizza crust (not even a solid cook through or buttery bottom....just bland plain dough) Marinara sauce is signature in Italian dishes...including pizza 🍕...and the wife noticed right away...they either forgot to put any...or that's the way they roll with the pizza... Either way...we ate 2 slices each..and the rest our pet pooches enjoyed to the last bite. Will i come back...i should probably just trusted Google reviews 🤔.. NO.. will i recommend it...i would recommend it to people looking for pizza and beer and relaxed ole timer ambience... 3.5 review is Where im at...just can't chose that option... End of review. Mike...

My family and I just had dinner here for the first time, and it was fantastic! We shared a meat lovers pizza, and it was perfect. From the deliciously sweet red sauce for the pizza to the fluffy crust with the perfect crunch to it, it was so good! The old, rustic feel when you walk in kind of makes you feel like you've walked into. Cheers, and then all of the employees act like family and many of them have been for many years. Years. This place is still owned by the same family who opened it 42 years ago. I can't wait to go back on our next trip here!

Pizza was amazing! We didn’t have to ask for extra cheese because it’s was already cheesy good! 😋🍕 Our server was attentive & wonderful, not only with us, but with every customer. Definitely recommend!

My friend introduced me to this place, and now it’s a tradition for me to visit every time I come to the island. Their pizza is so good, it’s like a mix of Peter pipers and the pizzeria’s almost! I love the cheesiness and it’s never too greasy. They have a nice variety of items on the menu as well! The service here is always great and on point. We had an older lady as our waitress this time around and she was awesome! So friendly and very efficient. The cheesy garlic bread is eh, but their pizza really is excellent. Also, it’s very beautifully decorated and cozy. Can’t wait to come again 😊

For a place that is called a "Pizza Joint", you surely would expect a quality Pizza. However, the Pizza that was so energetically presented was far from it. It was a cheese pizza that had uncooked toppings on it. It was clear that the toppings were not cooked along with the rest of the pizza. It was a sad sight. Total disappointment. The four topping ten slice Pizza came to $36 and change. Total rip-off. I would had been more satisfied with a store bought frozen pizza, out of a microwave. Travelers stay clear!

Made a delivery phone call and Ashely was so sweet and patient while I placed my order. She gave me all the information I needed and gave me prices in advance for I completed my order. She was definitely right about the jalapeno having a spicy kick and I you love it.

The pizza here was amazing. The crust was so crispy and it was extra cheesy. The wings were also excellent. Probably in the my top 3 of wings I've ever tried. If you want good pizza on the island I definitely recommend this pizza joint.

The service was great! Ted made us laugh and feel beyond welcomed! He shared with us their go to options and recommendations, and asked what we liked. When we asked to be surprised as we were celebrating our anniversary, he brought out some delicious options. Everything was cooked well and seasoned perfectly. The view is the extreme bonus! If you haven't gone, it's a must try.

We came to the island as 4 adults who never been here. We loved this place, ate here multiple times in our weeks stay. The atmosphere was awesome, the Sunsets beautiful. The staff was terrific! We all enjoyed our meals every night. The shrimp cocktail was yummy & although there was 5 large shrimp hanging there is 5-6 more chopped in the sauce. The large is big enough for a meal for one. We had the Red Fish, Maui Maui, shrimp (blackened & fried) , the Raspberry Key lime Pie was yummy. It’s not the best place I ever eaten but the best on the island.
Beth B — Google review
First let me start off by saying the customer service was exceptional!!! The only issue I had was the food was just not seasoned enough for me. If you like light seasoned or bland food this is for you as for me I love seasoning and flavor. I ordered one dish and I did not like it the manager suggested something else and it was much better. Again I just like flavor on my food the food was not bad. View of the beach nice resturant clean..

My wife and I read some good reviews about this spot so we figured we would give it a shot. The atmosphere and staff was fun and great views of the sunset. I just wanted a good burger and my wife wanted some seafood dish. So we ordered some drinks which were good then ordered our food, but within 4 maybe 5 minutes max or food was in front of us... we both looked at each other and said what did we just do? So we started to dig in and we had to admit it was pretty darn good. It tasted fresh and hot. We ordered desert, enjoyed the sunset and recommended you do the same.

Don't let the small, open air feel of this restaurant fool you. The seafood options are varied and much more upscale than the fried fish dishes elsewhere on the island. The plates are lovely and the taste is spectacular. We came for both dinner and lunch during our trip, and the service was really, really good. Kudos to Sam for her amazing service. Pricewise, the Painted Marlin is mid range ($10-30/pp), and they'll gladly cook your fresh catch for you for only $10 with sides! So many sauces and cooking styles that their chef deserves ample recognition! Get on the waiting list because they'll be booked up at least an hour before closing. Or thanks to everyone that makes the Painted Marlin a unique SPI landmark. Don't miss it!

We saw the reviews and the crowd this place had. After we waited for 1.5hrs we were seated. Staff was friendly and attentive, including the MOD who took great care. The apps were very good and pictured attached. The drinks were very weak and not the best tasting. If your on the water you should be making the best mojito and margaritas. The fish tacos lacked flavor for sure. Over all great place to check out.
Erik — Google review
Great easy place to eat. Fast service, fresh food, awesome sweet potatoes fries, enjoyed the Cesar salad with blackened shrimp too. Highly recommend for families is solo travelers. I came about 4pm so got to watch sunset too. Great outdoors seating area facing the harbor. Very helpful staff, food came out super fast and was fresh.
Travel G — Google review
The food was very tasty but the service was very slow, soft drinks were not refilled, cocktails were weak and not worth the money. Popular place with 30min wait (which was accurately stated when we arrived) in a great location with nice ambience (although it needs music) that on a clear day will be great for watching sunsets.

Nestled in the stunning South Padre Island, Viva is a newly opened waterfront restaurant that offers a delightful Latin-inspired menu and an array of specialty cocktails. The establishment has garnered praise for its delectable homemade guacamole with pomegranates, mouthwatering ribeye with pickled onions, and sumptuous shrimp dish in cream sauce. Guests can relish their meals while enjoying picturesque views of the bay and sipping on refreshing drinks served by attentive staff.
Stunning views! Wonderful open air place with big garage doors for good weather or closed up with outside heating when it's cool. The staff is fabulous and very attentive! Brussels was a stand out for me. They were cooked to a perfect medium firm with crispy leaves and a sweet tangy flavored sauce. Bar drinks were good as well. The desert looked good but no room left for that.

I highly recommend this place! Their food tastes fresh and contains amazing flavors. The ambiance is great, very clean and very beautiful inside. Our server was beyond great and made the experience absolutely perfect. They also have an amazing mimosa selection (we recommend orange juice with a splash of raspberry) and the views outside are incredible. Other restaurants on this island should take notes from this place. 10/10 loved!!!

Definitely the Best Restaurant on the Island. Food was exceptionally delicious, savory and hot when it got to our table. I recommend anyone to come out here and give it a whirl, you will not be disappointed. For an open air concept of a restaurant, this restaurant was not only fresh, it has a beautiful waterfront, super clean dinning area, and a very clean restrooms. Service was excellent, and great attention but not bothersome.

The food here is absolutely delicious! Seafood tastes like it was fresh from the ocean Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the House Guacamole which comes with pomegranate seeds that provides a refreshing pop of sweetness. Also, the Fish Tacos (Flounder, purple cabbage, pico, spicy mayo) were outstanding. The crispy veggies were perfect on a hot summer day. The servers provided the perfect amount of attention to ensure our meal and time spent was amazing.

We had a great experience here. It's a very beautiful establishment. The tables were pristine and well shaded. The menu offered a great variety of dishes. First time checking this place out. Think it was renamed. The food was really good. The burger is worth the money. It was delicious. The perfect amount of crispy and savory. The tacos were full of flavor. The shrimp tacos were nice size. I enjoyed our visit along with my family. Definitely worth another visit.

We did not had a reservation and the hostess said 1 hour wait. Which we agreed party for 3 At the end we waited 2 hours for a table and whenever I approached the hostess stand she said we are getting a table ready They had no idea of their time line, should have told us that it was going to be 1-2 hours We were sat by 9:30pm and ordered appetizers some how I went to the restroom and the busboy came by and had clear out app plates, napkins and silverware like rushing us out the restaurant close at 10pm and we had not ever got our entrees. You would think that the someone should have told the manager that we waited 2 hours and he should have stopped at our table but no. He was just hanging around the hostess stand. Emmanuel our server was aware of our situation and when above and beyond for us enjoy our time he was on top of things Out of all the staff there Emmanuel was the ONLY ONE that really cared for the customer satisfaction Food was not really worth the wait but Emmanuel top notch service was superb

Nautico Island Grill is a transformed version of the beloved Cap'n Roy's on South Padre Island. The restaurant offers a Tropical Modern vibe and serves a wide variety of dishes including fresh seafood, Mexican fusion, sandwiches, salads, and more. Visitors have praised the large and varied menu that caters to different preferences. The portions are generous, offering value for money. The staff is described as friendly, helpful, and attentive.
While on vacation, we had the absolute pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant—and it was hands down the best meal of our entire trip. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm hospitality, but it was the food that truly stole the show. Every dish we ordered was bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. You can taste the quality in every bite—the ingredients were clearly top-notch, and the preparation was flawless. Whether it was the appetizers, mains, or dessert, everything was perfectly balanced, beautifully plated, and absolutely delicious. This place isn’t just good—it’s unforgettable. We’re already talking about our next visit, and it will be the first stop when we return. If you're in town and looking for an exceptional food experience, this is the place to go. You won’t be disappointed!

We will definitely be back! I ordered the Tex-Mex chicken enchiladas with charro beans. While the enchiladas were a little bland on their own, the salsa that came with the meal added great flavor. The rice and beans were also very good. My husband had the breakfast taco and really enjoyed it—it was huge! I didn’t catch our server’s name, but he was also tending the bar. He was extremely friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. His positive energy really stood out, and he made sure we had a great dining experience. The restaurant itself was very clean and decorated with beautiful artwork that appeared to be for sale. Overall, 10/10!

The cutest little spot, but the food is truly delicious. Been going to the island for years and this was the first time I’ve been here. The Poblano Fish Enchiladas were recommended by a friend and the waitress, and they were really good. My husband ordered the grilled shrimp and fish with veggies, and the flavor was incredible. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Kids meals were large in size and yummy too. It was hard to resist my sons burger, looked really good!

The place is very nice and has a pleasant atmosphere. The service was fine, although it could improve in attention to detail. The food was good, but I had an issue: I ordered a shrimp taco bowl and was served a fish one. I’m not sure if it was a kitchen error or a mistake when taking the order. Since I don’t like fish, I would have appreciated if someone had come by to check if everything was okay, especially considering the restaurant wasn’t very full at the time.

So good! We brought our own catch (drum) and got it 3 ways, blackened fish tacos (some of the best I've had!), fried, and grilled. We also got shrimp 3 ways and the coconut shrimp and zucchini were perfection. The drinks were also great and the fried calamari had great flavors. The ambiance was so cute and great service. We come to South Padre every May and will be back at Nautico next year!
Kate — Google review
The Island experience coupled with lunch or dinner at this establishment makes it a complete visit at South Padre Island. The ambience is unique and the food is absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly and being greeted outside prior to entering, so that your table is prepared, is calming to the mind. The coffee (yes, coffee) is delicious. The coconut shrimp is amazing as is the calamari! The menu of variety will not disappoint. Must visit at least twice!
Elias O — Google review
This place is a cute little find on the island. Their drinks and service were amazing. Huge disappointment on the food. Their fish and shrimp tasted weird. I couldn’t put my finger on why, my fiancé mentioned maybe the fish was frozen (it reminded me of bleach). I couldn’t eat the fish at all. Very sad considering this is the island. I hope they do better in their food department! Also their side dishes are really odd choices as they do not pair too well with seafood. Would suggest better side options to pair with seafood. *Slight update per owner’s response: this place was extremely busy (understandable per holiday weekend). No one asked how the food was (although a restaurant should practice doing this in day to day operations), if they did I would have been very honest. Not sure how to remedy very apparent mediocre food though. We were extremely disappointed considering fresh seafood shouldn’t be that hard to come by here. Side recommendations: Cole slaw, hush puppies, additional shrimp, cold octopus salad, cold seafood side salads, baked potato, macaroni and cheese, etc.
Kimberly T — Google review
We stumbled upon Nautico Island Grill almost by accident, looking for a quick place to eat lunch with our dog, and we’re glad we found it because it was pretty good. Parking is solid, they have a lot just to the side of the restaurant and it is clean inside and out. As mentioned, we had our dog so we ate outside on their patio and it was pretty hot. They do have a hose to fill a dog bowl on the patio, but just be aware that even with an umbrella to cover the sun it was still very hot. The service was quick and good too, all positive signs before we got to our food arriving. Our food came out pretty quick. We ordered the fettuccine alfredo with a side of their soup of the day, which was a lobster bisque, and their Nauti’s fish tacos. Both meals were great. The fettuccine alfredo was creamy, a great texture with every bite and very filling. It came with a little bread that didn’t add much but it’s something. The lobster bisque was not that great, thin and overly “fishy”, yeah we get it’s lobster but it tasted artificial. As for the fish tacos, they were the single best meal we had in SPI. They were perfect in every way from texture to taste and size, just an absolute home run on it. We got a side of mashed potatoes with it but were too busy devouring the tacos to even pay it any mind. Lastly, we got a pina colada and mango daiquiri, both of which were among the best we had at the bars in SPI. This was a great lunch and we were pleasantly surprised by how good it all was. This is a place it pains not to give a five star to. We try to reserve our fives so they have a bit more weight on the experience and/or taste and quality of food, but this is pretty close to it. The one thing we would recommend is addressing the heat outside as it’s right off the main street and very hot but this is a place we very highly recommend to anyone in SPI or looking to go here and planning it out.

Do you enjoy bad customer service with cocky bartenders? Come to this place! If I could give negative stars I would. Imagine trying to enjoy some live music. You and your group order drinks. (Alcohol). Mind you the band goes on at 9pm. Drinks are flowing. Everyone is having a great time. You have ONE designated driver out of 5 who just wants a water…they will charge you $2.50 for that water. Yes a small price to pay when our bill was $220 but that is absolutely ridiculous that you will REFUSE to serve tap water. They have it in their gun at the bar. This should be illegal at any bar but unfortunately it’s not and just bad customer service.

What a gem we stumbled upon! The Quarterdeck is located at the Isla Grand Hotel right down from The Pearl hotel. It’s an indoor venue with live bands and 2 bars inside, the service is prompt and friendly. The drink prices are inexpensive and if you like dirty martinis, these guys can mix an outstanding one! My bride and I went 2 nights in a row and we heard a country band one night and an awesome rhythm and blues the next. It was a blast as the music from both bands was fantastic. The hotel itself with an outdoor pool and 2 bars definitely needs to be explored. Next trip we’re staying here. Give the Quarterdeck a try, they feature live bands nightly and you won’t leave disappointed.

Great experience! My wife and I took the jet ski tour for our anniversary trip and it was totally worth it. Not knowing the island very well, the tour guide led us to spots where we could see dolphins, shrimp boats and modern Venice as well as experience some of the excitement of taking the jetskis to 50mph and catching some air through the channel.

My daughter and I kicked off the first parasailing trip of 2025 with Captain Ron, Eddie and another gentleman. It was AMAZING! Captain Ron called us to make sure our time was set, that we knew where we were going and explained how to get there. The set up was smooth, the trip itself was everything I was expecting. Eddie was an absolute peach! He was cracking jokes and explaining everything in detail. Made my daughter feel wayy more comfortable. I couldn’t have asked for a better crew. I would def recommend them to anyone!!

After my husband and others got to go they brought people that had to reschedule from the day before. We all enjoyed ourselves. The captain was professional and made sure everyone was safe. The 2 young men that helped on the dock were great and very accommodating and patient with us. We will definetly do it again. Thank you

Unless you are a local from the Island/Port Isabel or a an actual tourist from out of the Valley, expect to be treated as an outsider. My group which consisted of about 8 couples asked for separate checks (3 to be exact) and they refused. When I complained and said something to the effect that there was no reason to refuse this request and I also mentioned the differential treatment they provide Valley locals, the waiter pretty much said the restaurant did not need our business to survive. On another occasion, a friend of mine and his family and friends from Chicago came down to eat at this restaurant, they requested separate checks (6 different checks) the waiter gladly obliged. Do better Parrot Eyes! Treat your Valley locals with respect. We keep your businesses going during the off season. In response to the response, this happened a year ago. Have a great day 💗

The daiquiris here are DELICIOUS! And the value is awesome. You get so much for such a reasonable price, plus you can put your drinks in the freezer and keep drinking them indefinitely! The woman who helped us was so kind and accommodating. I wish they had a place like this in Austin! We'll be coming back here any time we're on SPI!

The drinks here are so good! They’re strong and have great flavor. They have a lot of options and also have Jell-O shots and gummy bears. It’s cheap too compared to a bar, and one medium drink is plenty to get my tipsy.

Got 2 daiquiris and some jello shots. They were delicious. Had to go back and get 2 more.

This place is out go-to and favorite! We were so happy to find this gem last summer and even more pumped to find it was open this summer! Consistent with the other reviews the staff are super friendly and even had popsicles for our kids (so they weren't left out)! And unlike other to-go drink places on the island, they actually put alcohol in their drinks 🤣. The combos are endless and a perfect treat to take to the beach!! 😍😋

The South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center is a beachfront sanctuary that offers a unique opportunity to observe local wildlife, particularly birds and alligators. Situated along the Laguna Madre Trail, it serves as a crucial rest stop for birds during their cross-Gulf migration. Visitors can explore the center's birding boardwalk, interactive exhibit room, observation tower, and five bird blinds to catch glimpses of numerous bird species.
We enjoyed visiting here! There’s more wildlife than I thought there would be. They have tortoises , alligators, and owls outside and reptiles inside. We fed the alligators and tortoises however the tortoises weren’t hungry when we visited them about 1 PM. There’s a nice gift shop and all of the staff was very friendly. My sister in law paid for my niece to hold a snake and an alligator. There’s also a three story watchtower that you can take an elevator to see a really cool view of the water. The only downside was the heat outdoors on the boardwalk that afternoon but it didn’t stop our fun 🙂 all in all this place was really cool!

I loved it here! The walk around was awesome. Lots of birds and random fish. The views were dope also they take pics with an alligator and a snake for 10 bucks. 12$ to walk and see the views for the day to come and go whenever you want.

So much fun feeding the juvenile gators & tortoises! Upgraded the experience and got a photo with a boa & baby gator. The man who we saw to hold them was funny, educational, and seems to have a passion for what he does. The boardwalk was nice and we saw some cool birds. Waited for Big Padre to take a breath lol and got to see him too. The observation tower was cool & there was an informational center on the second floor.

Awesome little gem, amazing kind staff.. Plenty of animals and displays on 2 floors inside main pavilion with a multi story tower to walk up with great views of the estuaries and bay on backside of island... large boardwalk through the mangroves with plenty of animal exhibits outside and viewing of wildlife in the mangroves and tidal coast... definitely recommend for families with kiddos or people who enjoy seeing animals and nature... prices aren't bad either, easily justifiable for the experience. Can pay a bit extra and feed animals or upgrade to adventure package...
Skulli A — Google review
We enjoyed the alligator presentation and we got to see Big Padre the 11.5 foot alligator they house there, and lots of little alligators. It was only $10 to get in. Overall, a really nice place. We could have stayed longer, but it was a super sunny day and I get overheated easily. Be sure to bring an umbrella if it's sunny!
Michelle R — Google review
Everything about this place was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! We paid for a family of four and that also included my son petting the snake/alligators/feeding the turtles, it ended up costing us $47. The views were awesome to say the least. We saw Roseate Spoonbills, Great Blue Herons, Egrets, White Ibises, and many more shore birds. We also saw Big Padre for a good few seconds. He had just finished eating and dug himself under the sand, which I'm guessing he was putting himself down for a nap haha. We also got some good information from the employees. They have a beautiful gift shop too. There are many nice backdrops which offer great opportunities for photos.

We had an amazing experience here! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. We saw so many amazing birds, crabs, fish, alligators, etc. The walk8ng docks are in good shape, and the information provided at each shelter area was useful in identifying different species. This was the best part of our trip to South Padre Island. DEFINITELY RENT THE BINOCULARS! WORTH IT!

Isla Blanca Park, located on the southern edge of South Padre Island, is a vast motorhome campsite that offers access to pristine beaches, fishing areas, and nearby shops and restaurants. The park boasts over a mile of soft sand along the Gulf and is home to some of the area's best beaches. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as beach games, water sports, fishing spots, playgrounds, boating facilities, kiteboarding, and snorkeling excursions.
Hadn’t visited in some time, several years and we were pleasantly surprised and amazed with the makeover! Soo nice and modern! My hubby & I and 2 teens just had a little time for the beach and this spot was perfect! Beautiful location clean bathrooms! Alot of parking!
Patricia M — Google review
My husband and I stayed here for a few weeks in January and had a great experience. There is easy access to the beach and a nice boardwalk if you don't want to walk in the sand. Because we came off season, a lot of places were closed or had limited hours, but we enjoyed walking into town. There's also a free trolley that was really convenient. Checking in was a little confusing. We ended up at the guard shack and were told we needed to turn around and check in at the building on the corner. The bathrooms and park were well maintained.
Kelly D — Google review
We had a nice time here. Our site C193, had a great location near the sidewalk path and not too far from the bathhouse. The bathhouse near us had 2 separate rooms, one with 2 stalls and the other with 3 showers. The showers were large and made it easy enough to bath me and my daughter. They were pretty old and cracked though so that is the only complaint there. There was a code to get into both. The beach access, jetty, and lagoon area were enjoyable. The time we were there a lot of tar was washing up on the beach and we weren't aware of what it was and we had a hard time cleaning it off. The reason for the 4 star rating is because of the check in process and the entry into the park. We were never told check in was before arrival at the gate. The rude person at the gate then made us go back, which required a complete drive through the park as there was no way to turn around in our large RV. When we got to check in, there was a long line and it took over a half an hour. Each time we entered the park there was a long line at entry and it would be nice if there was a separate entrance for those with passes who didn't need to pay. All in all we had a great time, but those inconveniences made entering the park a hassle. Beautiful sunrise over the Gulf, sunset over the bay, and it's cool watching the large container ships through the canal

This was our first time to visit this area. The beach was great, full of families and clean. The peer was really cool to explore and to watch the launch of the SpaceX rocket. A treat indeed. I recommend this as the best viewing area for the rocket launches and for excellent fishing.

Great place for a motor home if you like beach life… yet the island is small enough you can enjoy everything else a great island has to offer. You can walk to a fresh seafood restaurant… margaritaville, pubs and bars, restaurants, fishing… whew! And then there’s spring break! And a great place to view Space X launches!
AgentsPlanet — Google review
Don't love that you have to pay to get to this area of the island. We went here for people to fish at the Jetty's and to see the statue. While waiting, some of us went to the beach. There are amenities at this beach that were nice such as showers and someone selling ice cream - but the location being so close to the Jetty's made the surf really calm and kinda boring compared to beaches further north that had nice waves. Good beach for little kids with an insane amount of seashells.

This is a large, very clean park with restrooms. We went there to watch a SpaceX launch and spend the day on the beach. There was a $12 charge per car.

Lobo Del Mar Cafe is a family-owned American and seafood restaurant located by the water, offering grilled dishes, cocktails, and live music. Situated near the Queen Isabella Bridge on Laguna Madre Bay, it provides stunning water views. The menu includes items like Ceviche, Fried Oysters, Calamari, Parasail Burger, Lobo Burger, and Hula Chicken Sandwich. There's also a children's menu with options like Chicken Nuggets and Grilled Cheese.
Beautiful location with an amazing view of the ocean, very lively atmosphere and great selections of food. The restaurant is outdoor seating so if you’re not used to the Texas heat then choose a well ventilated spot! They have fans throughout to accommodate as well. Food was very tasty and juicy, I got the pulled pork sandwich, and coconut shrimp for my partner. Both were delicious.
Julius P — Google review
We visited SPI this month and Lobo ended up being the whole family's favorite place we ate during our stay! We wanted to eat somewhere on the water and planned dinner around sunset. We originally went to Viva based on reviews but they had an hour wait (on a Thursday evening) so we rerouted to Lobo, which had been our second choice. I'm so glad we ended up there! The atmosphere was laid back and relaxed, the view was gorgeous, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was great! I got the street tacos, which was an excellent choice - everyone ended up sharing them - but the fish and chips were great too. My daughter got nachos, which she enjoyed, but thought my tacos were even better. We sat outside, which could be risky in the August Texas heat, but there was a great breeze. At some point a live band started playing and then we got treated to a bagpipe performance. So unexpected and awesome! We will definitely be back on our next trip.

Stopped by Lobo Del Mar Café for breakfast. The food was decent—nothing mind-blowing, but solid standard fare. The vibe is a mix of indoor and outdoor dining, with a full bar that starts serving alcohol at 10 AM. They have daily happy hour and offer a military discount, which is appreciated. That said, it’s very clearly a Trump-supporting establishment, with his face and slogans all over the place. Honestly, it could be a really great spot if it wasn’t so politically charged in decor. If you can overlook that, it’s a decent place to grab a bite and a drink.

Had a wonderful experience at Lobo Café Del Mar in South Padre Island! The service was absolutely exceptional, especially from our waiter, Jesus, who was attentive and friendly from start to finish. The food was very freshly made — the fruit was crisp and flavorful, and the omelette was cooked perfectly with fresh eggs and plenty of hearty filling. The mimosas were richly poured, which is always a plus in my book. If you get the chance, definitely sit outside on the patio because the views are magnificent and really add to the atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable — you get good quality food without breaking the bank. Overall, it’s a spot worth visiting, and I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I’m in town.

The charro beans and rice are incredible. My husband and I both enjoyed the fish tacos as well :) we had Judith V as a server and she was great! Overall atmosphere is nice, but definitely pretty warm if you go there when the sun is out!
Gracie S — Google review
Easily the weirdest experience we had dining in SPI. Let’s start out with the parking and cleanliness, both good, lots of options to park and clean. We came into Lobo Del Mar and were seated pretty quickly, tucked into a corner with a perfect view of the sunset. They’re dog friendly on their patio which was a plus as well. We came in before the sun had set and we kid you not the sun set before we had our water or drink orders taken. We waited maybe 15 minutes before going up to a waitress to ask when we’d be served and she took our drink orders five minutes later but didn’t take our food order as it was our designated waiter’s area. Luckily staring at a sunset is a great way to pass the time, otherwise we probably would’ve left at that point. When we finally got to order we got: the fried chicken sandwich with cheese and french fries, a pulled pork sandwich with onion rings, a mai tai, and a blue hawaiian. The chicken sandwich was decent, the cheese definitely made it better than without it (they also forgot to put the cheese on it when it came out). It had a good texture and was pretty filling. The fries were good, nothing too crazy. The pulled pork sandwich was good, definitely better than a lot of others we’ve had. The meat was moist and the flavors played well off one another. As for drinks, the mai tai was delicious, one of the better drinks we had during our time here. The blue hawaiian was much the same, pretty good but maybe a bit too much shaved coconut around the rim of the glass, it kept getting in the drink. It’s a shame the service was not very good here because we had a great sunset view and the food/drinks were honestly good too. We just can’t look past waiting 15-20 minutes to get drink orders taken and almost 30 minutes to put our food in. Waters also came during our meal for context. We’re more than happy to try this spot out again in the future, but for now we feel like this is a fair rating.

This is absolutely my favorite place on the island!! 🏝️ Wonderful atmosphere, calm, family, friendly, yet full of lively music and patriotic goodness. The food has a great wide selection for all kinds of munchies, great food quality and portions. Whether you want to sit by the bay or next to the dance floor, you get to see the sunset, hear the music and enjoy the soul of Texas! As a person of Celtic descent, I love and get tears in my eyes every Time they play the bagpipes and the national anthem. As a proud supporter of our troops, and our men and blue, it is an institution that I will continue to support and promote. They honor heritage, family and culture… While having a mighty good time! It’s Texas size fun! Great rock or blues or country all the time… Which creates a beautiful ambience of togetherness and fun and you will often see couples coming out to the dance floor and it’s honestly always a good time, Good music, good food, and great people! God bless y’all!

The beer battered fish and chips were so good and affordable. I arrived hangry and left happy. The margarita may have had something to do with it! It was perfect- not too sweet or acidic. My daughter’s street tacos were good as were the beans a la charra and the rice. We will back this trip for sure! Come with a sense of humor, hungry and ready for live music and bay views!

The Kellys Irish Pub is a traditional Irish-American bar with great food and service. It's a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy some of the best Guinness in town. The pub also has billiards, darts and occasional DJs for entertainment.
This was the first place we stopped to eat in South Padre Island on our vacation and they had the best Reuben Sandwich I've had in awhile! The bar tender was very attentive and his drinks were on point! 10/10 highly recommend

Friendly patrons, dollars on the wall everywhere. They have TouchTunes if you like to play music. Pool and darts. Everything you’d expect in an Irish pub… Except smithwicks… but you can drink the 5X5 instead.

We went to Kelly’s after a disappointing experience at another place nearby, and it totally turned our night around. The food was amazing and the ambience was great too. It’s a bar, but since we’d already had drinks earlier, we just ordered food and were really impressed. Big shoutout to the female bartender/server who took care of us. She was super friendly, checked in multiple times, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her service made the experience even better. Definitely recommend this spot!!

If i could leave a negative review i absolutely would. I came in and ordered a double Tito’s and lemonade. Bartender asked if i wanted a tall, i said a short. He proceeded to serve me a tall and i brought it to his attention. He immediately took it from my hands and said he won’t serve me because he thought i said “sure” not short. Absolutely uncalled for attitude. Very unprofessional. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND

Kelly's has a relaxed atmosphere. I had the shepherds pie and it was tasty. Definitely a good place for beer and food.

The food and service were great. Bartender Dave makes spot on perfect drinks and. Is very attentive. Food was really good - their Rueben sandwich was top notch. Pool tables and lots of TV’s to watch sports.. We could not give the atmosphere a five as Dave was unable or unwilling to allow the tv sound / football game on due to jukebox box that had to be on instead during the game…. Even though we were the only individuals in the place initially. So… our search for the perfect SPI sports bar game watching venue continues… but I will be back to Kelley’s as we are regular SPI visitors.

The shop's inviting ambiance with patio and umbrella tables adds to the delightful experience.
A great little ice cream place! Serving Blue Bell ice cream. The service was great and line was short. They have I think 16 options for ice cream and lots of topping add-ons available. I opted for the blue monster. Delicious. The seating inside was taken, so we sat outside in a covered breezeway where some ceiling fans were blowing. It was mid week after dinner. Price was reasonable for what you get. Same price as you would pay at any other nearby ice cream place.

The ice cream sundaes were great, but the two guys working, were odd and seemed 'off'. We were trying to figure out if they were high, but can't say for sure. The experience was a turn off, and we will try another ice cream place next time we visit.

This location sells: Floats/Frozen Fruit Bars/Sundae’s/Cones (Waffle Cone)/ Banana Splits (unlimited toppings) and Milkshakes. The ice cream is Blue Bell and what our family ordered was: •Rocky Road •Cotton Candy •Banana Split •Strawberry I want to note that although the ice cream was delicious - I was uncomfortable - customer service isn’t what it needs to be. This is an island, I expect diversity/adaptability/high energy because you want people to return. The employees make the experience and unfortunately they didn’t create a positive environment for me or my family. The gentleman needs to work on keeping a smile and positive attitude. The woman at the register needs more confidence and the one scooping needs to smile as well. It’s not that serious, just saying. I hope this experience never happens to others and the rest will enjoy the experience at KIC’S 💚🫶🏻

Seaside is one of the better places you can eat at while visiting South Padre. The food is really good, but nothing too special. The service is great because if we had any requests or additions like sauce, it would be given to us. The atmosphere of this place is great since it's directly on the beach.

We had dinner here tonight at the hotel. The bartender was prompt and friendly. We had chicken fajitas with rice and beans. They were very good. The view of the Gulf is awesome. The reason I gave it four stars was because they used plastic straws and little plastic containers for the rice, beans and salsa. Not very Eco friendly only being a hundred feet or so from the ocean.

Best place to eat and drink on the island! Great owner, managers and bartenders! Highly recommend to come try a nice cold draft beer.
Allison M — Google review
First, Amber the Bartender was super friendly and welcoming. Of I owned a bar down here I'd hire her in an instant. They have the cool fill from the bottom up cups. If you like a stout beer try their Starbase brew! The pirate theme is great and the place has many levels to give you the feel of being on a ship. We came in to grab a bite and watch Monday night football and she was kind enough to turn the music down to a level we could talk over (with or us having to ask). The food (2 burgers, fries & 6 garlic payment boneless wings) had little to no seasoning and thick- thick burgers were pink in the middle, wings cooled quickly & became hard. I wish this place luck!
Wendy B — Google review
We shared nachos and they were okay! The music was very loud so you can’t hear each other talk, or the server, but the band was good and entertaining though! Not enough parking for sure! Every spot was full so we parked at the closed down business next door and when we walked in, there were still several open tables! Unfortunately, you can’t park at the closed down business next door, so our car got towed while we were there! Cost us $300 to get it back! I get it, that’s not the bars fault, but if they had enough parking in the first place, that might not have happened… Honestly, I’ll probably still go back, after I get rid of this soar @$$…. It was a good atmosphere!
Scott S — Google review
Food is mostly fried, very greasy and over priced burgers that are not good. It's basic bar food. I would pass up and spend your money elsewhere. It's has potential but the food needs tons of work. Fries are plain and have no flavor. Server was good.

Fun new place on South Padre! Our sandwiches and fries were hot and tasty and we really enjoyed the live band. This place is big, so there’s plenty of room for a large group. Glad we gave it a try!

I rated this place low due to the way we were treated last night by the waitress/bartender. She was very rude she never served us and was very racist. This place used to be my to go place and we had never been treated this way. This will be my last time here. *To the owner, make sure you watch and listen to the video the whole time we were there not just the end. I'm sure you will see that we had to go get our own beverages the whole night and the bartender got mad because my husband asked her to split the bill, that's how it all started and she said if we didn't leave she was calling the cops and she started counting. Yes please watch the whole thing.

What an absolute treasure of a find! One of the best little spots in South Padre. The customer service is second to none. Very knowledgeable and friendly for those who dont know much about wine. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy with comfortable seating and board games if you're interested. The food was INCREDIBLE. We had the charcuterie board and the margarita flatbread. Both were delicious and amazing. We cannot recommend this place enough. Half price select wines on Wednesdays! This is a must for anyone in South Padre.

Randy and staff were top notch! From the moment we walked in to the time we left the service was amazing. Such a relaxing spot to grab a bottle of wine and hang out with friends and family. They are also dog friendly! Thanks again Randy!

The only “upscale bar” we were able to find on SPI. A “lounge” setting with intimate seating and a cool vibe. Very knowledgeable staff! We each had a wine flight. After asking each of us what types of wines we most enjoy, our server tailored wine flights to each of our tastes. They also serve food. We had the Strawberry Feta Salad and the Pepperoni Flat Bread. Both were excellent! The chill vibe and the art covered walls make this wine bar a “must” any time you are in South Padre!

What an amazing establishment! We booked a birthday party there and Randy made it so personalized. We had the grazing charcuterie board and champagne. It was super quaint and peaceful. We were able to carry on conversations and throughly enjoy our time.

If I could give 10 stars I would! SPI Wine Bar has always been our go to spot. Between their fine wine, good bites, and fun staff, it’s hard not to enjoy yourself! 10/10 recommend for a girls night out, date night, or just you time. They’ll make you feel right at home! Recently, we threw our engagement party here - BEST DECISION EVER! They went above and beyond to host the most perfect night that we will forever hold close to our hearts! Thank you Randy, Laly, and the rest of the team! If you want to visit one of SPI hidden gems, find yourself at SPI Wine Bar!

If you haven’t tried the SPI Wine Bar, wow, you are missing a spectacular experience! If you are like me and you love charcuterie trays, fresh strawberry salad, baked Brie, buttery shrimp, and incredible flatbread, SPI Wine Bar is the place to go. The wine selection, and the knowledgeable commentary from Jessica, is terrific, but this place isn’t just for wine drinkers. There is also beer, try a mango mimosa, or just have a Coke! There is also lovely local artwork on display which you can make your own. SPI Wine Bar is located next door to SPI Hardware. Say no to fomo. Check it out!

Great place, cozy atmosphere, very friendly staff. Food is delicious and there is a great selection of wines to try. Nice place to relax, unwind, or catch up with friends. You'll find that everyone is always friendly, and you might leave with an unexpected new friendship! You should definitely come experience the warmth and charm for yourself!

South Padre Island KOA Holiday is located on the undeveloped portion of South Padre Island, accessible at Beach Access #6. The island is known for its vibrant nightlife, making it a popular destination for parties and events that go on until the early morning hours. Despite some minor concerns about cabin amenities, such as cold water in the shower and uncomfortable sofa bed springs, guests enjoyed the comfort and privacy of having the whole cabin to themselves.
Excellent place to stay, I will be going back. Staff was very nice, helpful and friendly. We stayed in the tent area and it was very accommodating. Bath and shower area are just a short walk away. Pool was nice and refreshing. Views were nice. I plan on returning during a space x launch it's close enough you will have a spectacular view

Love it here! Everyone is so kind and we’ve had nothing to complain about for the 3 different times we’ve gone. The employees were kind enough to help my husband set up our rv and even took my kids for a small ride in their golf carts. The playground as well as the train ride are my kids favorite so that keeps them busy while we grill and relax. We stayed by the waterfront and it was amazing and my kids loved seeing the fish jumping first thing in the morning while taking our dogs out. Will continue visiting!

We had a great greeting. I was really impressed with the staff. The showers were clean. Each has a bench and plenty of hooks. I used the coin laundry. A machine ate some money and jammed up. An after hours guy came to help and couldn’t have been nicer. They refunded the money lost in the machine quickly. Our space was level and quiet. When we were leaving we stopped at the office and the staff were great again. Great experience. I hope we can go back again. The cost for a gravel spot with no extras was about $97. I thought it was too high but I guess it’s the area.

This is a beautiful location with wonderful amenities. This camp is very well maintained with it very obvious funds are being poured back into the KOA. Being able to put trash at the edge of our site was a fantastic amenity. The pet wash was also appreciated, but would recommend adding it to a maintenance schedule or instructions for guests to clean out the basin/drain. During our use of the wash the basin had backed up with multiple inches of water due to a plethora of fur/sand. I was happy to clean it out but certainly think it needs attention. We did also find the washing machines even at half full did a somewhat poor job of actually cleaning and rinsong clothing. Dryers were great! Will absolutely stay again.

Great park, clean facilities, nice pool, and everyone was very friendly. Excellent location to view SpaceX launches. Spaces are a little tight for big rigs (ours is a 42 ft 5er), but we managed to fit just fine. It this sight was on the beach, it's on the bay side, I would give it a solid 5.

We stayed Mother's Day weekend and it was fantastic, clean, very friendly staff. So many activities for kid's. Pool/Jacuzzi were both so clean even after a rain storm we got. We enjoyed ourselves very much and can't wait for our next trip !

Palm Street Pier is a laid-back bar and grill located on a pier, offering a mix of seafood and American dishes along with live music. The establishment takes pride in serving locally sourced shrimp, including Captain Morgan-sauced shrimp, coconut shrimp, stuffed shrimp, and fried shrimp. They are also known for their Captain Morgan wings and generous portions of nachos. The open-air design allows smoking but doesn't result in noticeable second-hand smoke.
This place was AWESOME! The food was so delicious and it came out really fast. I had the shrimp scampi which was to die for and it came with the choice of a salad or soup. I had a salad with garlic vinaigrette dressing. The also do a happy hour 7 days a week from 4-6 and there are drinks and appetizers to choose from. My husband did the tacos with grilled shrimp on happy for $6. And they were delicious. We also did a coconut shrimp basket. I loved that you could sit right on the water and have a beautiful view and that the quality of food was good.... Not at all like pub food. If you're at South Padre definitely give this place a try. I give this a two thumbs up!
Breanna B — Google review
Great staff and amazing food, both the burger and coconut shrimp were very delicious and fresh! The drinks were also very well made. Definitely recommend this place if you want great food, drinks, service and views!
Diego G — Google review
I don’t know what’s better – the unique food or the unique owners of this comfortable establishment. The nachos are superb, and the story that the owners shared with me about them and their 11 children was absolutely fascinating. This is the only restaurant on South Padre Island that you can smoke in, but due to its open-air, al fresco design, no second-hand smoke was noticeable. Every evening, the owner's son play bagpipes at sunset. Highly recommended.
Shane M — Google review
Great food, good happy hour specials, and a great view of the bay make this a place to go. They take great pride in serving locally sourced shrimp, right off the boat! Try the shrimp sampler, made of Captain Morgan-sauced shrimp, coconut shrimp, stuffed shrimp, and fried shrimp...or order each kind individually! Or if in the mood for wings, get the Captain Morgan wings! They're also known for making a huge pile of nachos, so try those if you bring friends. Service can be slow if not seated at the bar, however.

Had a great time celebrating my friend's birthday. She sure lived the Rum Runners!!! We had Mahi Mahi grilled, which was fabulous, the seafood chowder, which I loved even though I'm not a big fan of seafood, and the coconut shrimp which was delicious, sweet and crunchy! Here's a picture.

Rockin' Cigar Bar & Grill @ 3rd Coast is a fantastic spot for entertainment, delicious food, and socializing with friends. With its amazing food, chill ambiance, and reasonable prices, it's definitely worth a visit when in South Padre Island.
Great little bar near the Marina on South Padre Island, being a cigar bar, you can also smoke and vape here! Very welcoming and we had a lovely time here, definitely recommend!

The atmosphere, service, and food was good! We made a new friend, he is so friendly! I did get their 6 piece wings, but it is just wings. There was a pool table. There is a downstairs and upstairs. I would recommend for adult hangouts.

Nice place, great humidor you can buy your cigar and sit down and enjoy it. The owner is usually around. Great bartenders and wait staff that never leave you thirsty.
Travis T — Google review
Had a great time. Enjoyed some cold beers, with a smash burger and cheese steak. Everything was exceptional and would recommend to anyone who doesn't mind that it is a cigar bar,so smoking is allowed. Bartender was excellent and she kept our glasses full and was very friendly. We will go back.
Paul B — Google review
I had one of the worst experiences here. First, the wait time for my order was extremely long. When I finally received my pizza, it wasn’t what I ordered — I specifically asked for a chicken pizza, but they gave me a completely different meat. I returned it and explained politely, but even the replacement was wrong again. What made it worse is that instead of taking responsibility, the staff treated me as if I was lying or joking. That is unacceptable for any restaurant. Mistakes can happen, but the lack of professionalism, accuracy, and respect shown here is very disappointing. Definitely not coming back. Poor service and no value for customers.
Saieesh K — Google review
Stopped in for a cigar and got great friendly, helpful service. Now I want to go back for dinner and a drink. Also, Sputnik the dog is worth stopping in all on his own. Follow up: the cigar that was recommended was excellent!
Brian M — Google review
What a great vibe! Peter really knows his stuff and is a veritable mind-reader like you’d want a bartender to be. We came for a place to buy and smoke a cigar (forget other places on the island for selection), but wound up genuinely amazed at the understated, effortless way this place does its job. Simple bar food, but done well. Nothing “upscale” or “cheffy”, but really great examples of whatever it’s supposed to be. Like the chili dog. Try it! A great bun that can stand up to the chili, a good dog, and a pretty damned good chili! The queso fundido rocks, too. Throw in a laid back cat and dog (the mascot), a wooden Castro by the door, and you’ve got a place with its own distinct character. Oh, and don’t be confused by the doors. Upstairs is non-smoking, downstairs is smoking. Seriously give this place a shot. It’s a bit out of the way, but deserves high praise!
Travis S — Google review
Was all good till the owner showed up. He couldn't make any more clear that I was not welcomed even offered a ride to the airport not sure if its my skin or cause im from ms but he sure didn't want me there. Plenty of other nice bars on the island I'll be back jus not to his place.

Driftwood Landing is a charming bayside restaurant with a rustic beach-style decor and a wooden deck offering stunning views of the Laguna Madre. It shares its kitchen with Louies Backyard, providing a smaller set of dishes and often featuring live music. The spot is perfect for relaxing with craft drinks, friendly conversation, and cold beer while enjoying the cool breeze and beautiful bay views. Although they don't serve food, menus are available for delivery or pick up from next door.
We came here on a recommendation for an espresso martini. We were not disappointed. If you enjoy them as much as we do, make sure you stop by for one. Their other drinks looked really good too. We will definitely be back. It’s a cool little spot with a band next door that you can hear. The sunset view is amazing. Update: we went back and had another great experience. The service is great. The bartenders were very attentive despite being extremely busy on NYE. We tried the brisket nachos which were delicious.

Driftwood Landing is a great place to unwind with a tasteful coastal drink. My husband had his favorite, a glass of Woodford Reserve bourbon on the rocks, and well, I had to sample a few drinks. LOL, I started out with bartender Kimberly's choice, the Orange Margarita garnished with a lime, which turned out to become a favorite of mine too. I also had Tito's Lavender Lemonade with fresh mint and a lemon for garnish. The wonderful Kimberly stated that this is a popular drink at Driftwood Landing. If you enjoy drinks with lavender, then this drink is definitely for you. I also tried a shot with Smirnoff Spicy Tamarind with pineapple juice. This has become another favorite of mine, it's a Mexican-inspired tangy and sweet drink with a spicy zing. Driftwood Landing is right on the water front with an amazing view. Kimberly makes the best drinks to enjoy with the coastal waters. Parking is across the street with several spots to choose from or you can park along the street close by. The environment is friendly and relaxing. A great place to visit with friends while enjoying the drinks and atmosphere.

Stopped here to have a few drinks while my kids were we’re riding the orca boat ride that they do on the jet skis right off the dock right there! The drinks are pretty good. They’re about $10 each after two. I felt pretty relaxed. Besides the fact that it was so hot outside and the boat ride took forever. It was a pretty decent spot!

You can literally walk five steps to fish at the pier and sit by the bay. Kitchen had everything. Plenty of room to spread out. Gorgeous sunsets. Central location with great restaurants in walking distance. A short jaunt to the beach. They even provided a beach chair and umbrella!

Loved the whole 1950s vibe to this little island gem. Great little place walking distance to everything, including the beach. House was well equipped with everything you could need. Didn’t even know there was a great deck on the roof to watch fireworks and the traffic on the main drag. Just take note since the home is older so there is a bit of a funky smell that comes n goes but it’s tolerable if you don’t have a super sensitive sense of smell.
L2the T — Google review
Simply the Best!! I absolutely loved this home! It’s a perfect place that accommodates a family who loves to fish. The house had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Pots and pans were in good condition, the beds were comfortable, and I loved that it has a washer and dryer. The best part of the property was having the owner next door. She was a doll!!! Not only did she make us feel at home, but she also allowed my son and niece over to her side of the property to fish the main channel. We enjoyed our stay and want to rent this property again next summer.
Debra M — Google review
Overall, my family's stay in this place was great. Enough space for the 3 of us and while its not beach front, its super close to the beach. The keypad on the door gave us a bit of issues here and there when punching the 10 digit code and while the unit has a private washer and dryer to use, the dryer made this constant squeaky noise that was pretty loud so we did not do laundry because we didn't want to disturb the neighbors. It was a great 4 night stay for a little summer getaway!
Kelley C — Google review
Excellent condo to stay at south padre island. Extremely clean, organized and completely equipped with everything needed to feel at home away from home. All you need is your suitcase and groceries, everything else is there. They even supplied seasoning, oil, coffe, sugar and everything else needed to make any meal. I was extremely happy with our stay, the ease and location. Let's not forget the heated pool. Our place to stay again in the future. No doubt!
Ferdinand S — Google review
The condo/unit was beautiful! The grounds were very well kept. A few cons: no cleaning supplies or mop. We traveled with 5 people including an 18 month old. She got sick and we had nothing to clean the floors with. The broom was useless with the sand. No beach/pool towels & the beach chairs were rusted & would not open. There is no sun on the balcony. The grill on the balcony didn't work. The water filter in the fridge needs to be replaced. The closet in the 2 queen bedroom was damp with moisture, left clothes smelling icky. There are only 2 elevators for the 12 floor unit, so at times we waited to get to the unit. Not a huge issue but some thing to be aware of. As for amenities, the one pool was very nice! But you need to get there early to get one of the few chairs that were in the sun for more than a few hours. We were told we could not use the 2nd pool, game room or fitness area (which was under construction). The biggest complaint was they are building a new building right next door, and this was never mentioned! Construction started every morning at 8am (except new years day) of the 10 days we were there. At times it was so loud you could not be on the balcony.
Kim R — Google review
Everything was good overall. Home was spacious and good size for our family. The pool seems larger than what it is on the pictures (pics appear stretched). One of TVs in master bedroom not working. 2nd day some loud tenants checked in across us. Apparently the area isn't monitored for loud guests as described in guest rules comments. As they had loud music with their condo door propped wide open for all guests to hear their music.

I had a trip this week to South Padre Island to relax and enjoy the ocean and celebrate the end of flu season (I’m an ER nurse). I love jet skiing and have done this in the past, so I booked an excursion a couple weeks in advance. When the jet ski excursion I had booked with someone else became cancelled, I booked one through Coconut Jacks the night before and had great availability. Michael was very nice and helpful and the jet skis were beautiful, in great shape, and very powerful. I had an absolute blast and enjoyed it so much that I came back the next day. Michael took plenty of great pictures of me out on the water (I’ll put a couple below) and made sure I was okay after I had an epic wipeout. I loved the huge area that you’re allowed to jet ski in and had an absolute blast. I’m already thinking about coming back in the next couple months and booking through them again. The pricing is pretty good compared to a lot of other jet ski rentals I’ve done that are sometimes 1.5-2x the price that this place had, and I loved the absolute freedom out on the water to goof off with the jetski and get tons of thrills in. I definitely recommend booking through Coconuts if you want to go jet skiing in South Padre Island, the experience was amazing. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could. Thank you so much Michael!

Extremely disappointing experience with the front desk guy at Coconuts Parasailing and Water Sports. I called ahead to ask about booking and specifically asked if there was a deposit or boating license required. I was told no deposit was needed and nothing was mentioned about a boating license until I called a second time to clarify. That is when I was finally informed of the license deferment option. I showed up prepared with everything that was needed, including my two children and my mother. When I casually mentioned that I wished I had been told everything during my first call, the man at the front desk instantly got rude and defensive. His response was, “You can take your service elsewhere.” I was shocked. He then told me I was being disrespectful and said that if I would not respect him, I would not respect his jet ski. All I had done was say I was glad I called again to make sure I had what was needed and wished I had known sooner. It was incredibly unprofessional and uncalled for. I have rented jet skis before and never had someone act so rude and full of attitude over something so small. Thankfully I took my business elsewhere to SPI Excursions and received kind service and a better deal. I would not recommend Coconuts after this experience.
