Lucky's is an upscale restaurant in Montecito, California that exudes old Hollywood glamour. It offers a romantic dining experience with impeccable service and discreet dining areas. The menu features aged USDA Prime steaks, seafood, martinis, and other exquisite delicacies. Known as Montecito's second living room, Lucky's is a local institution where patrons can enjoy classic martinis and people-watching.
Wonderful experience! Celebrated my birthday for dinner and they made it so special! Our server was so kind and treated us so well! Dinner was outstanding and, as you can see, the complimentary dessert was amazing! You won’t be disappointed

Great experience! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Ordered a smoked salmon eggs Benedict. I was very happy with my choice. They served it with peppers on the side which was a perfect add on. This is not a combination I had tried before and now I wish that everywhere did this. The staff were fantastic too. A table near us was rather unkind to their waiter and he maintained his pleasant demeanor throughout the entire meal. Bravo across the board Lucky’s.
Anne L — Google review
We did a lot of homework to make sure my 50th birthday was a good one. We chose Lucky's Montecito and Santa Barbara specifically for their great wine selection. We would typically head up to Harris Steakhouse in San Francisco as we consider it one of the top in the country. Our food was up to par and no complaints in that department. We did basic filets with a few sides and the girlfriend liked her French Onion Soup. This is an extremely noisy restaurant and you will need to speak very loudly just across your small table in order to hear. We were there on a Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. and it was packed. Overall the place has a very rushed feel. I get it, they have a great reputation. I was there to spend up to $1,000 on a bottle of wine. When I asked for the sommelier, They said he would come over. Instead, one of the waiters came over and introduced him also as a "som". Maybe my cashmere sweater looked a little more like the gym type. Very rushed, and then when asked to decant a Bordeaux, he said it didn't need it. Dude, if I'm spending over $250 or $600 on dinner.. decant my wine. We would never recommend this restaurant and are not coming back. Quite frankly, I'm pretty sure they just lied to my face and did not send the Som over. We were definitely a little bit tired from a long day of hiking and the pre-drink at Miramar. But hey my guy, I will be cheersing you on my 9-day Tuscan trip next month. 🍷

Lovely dining room, lovely location.Pleasant staff. The food was good, though not remarkable. Still, a really nice spot!

Stopped in for drinks late afternoon. Such a fun spot Had dinner and lunch here in the past and loved the food, service was great, and nice atmosphere. Martinis are great too!
Joy D — Google review
Amazing anticipation for a first class experience, however the noisy crowded dining room started things off poorly. Great waiter was apologetic for the slow service from the kitchen, I even mentioned it to one of the managers, and finally our great porterhouse was delivered much after the side dishes had been 1/2 consumed! We were near the kitchen door, so we couldn’t miss the confusion the staff had, an experience that I’d not like to repeat! I’m sure that they could do better!
Jack B — Google review
I’ve been to Lucky’s many times and have always been very impressed by the quality of their food. However, this last time, the food was subpar at best. The calamari was very chewy and the New York steak tasted more like a pot roast and was not nearly as tender as I have gotten in the past. The prices were raised and I’m not sure if the quality of their food has been compromised by not buy in the best cuts of meat or the freshest seafood. Maybe it was an off day in the kitchen but it really shocked me how poor it all was.
A.J. T — Google review
Let me tell you. Lucky’s is where dreams go to sizzle and dignity goes to die. I strolled in feeling like a Wall Street cowboy ready to whisper sweet nothings to a tomahawk ribeye. The waiter took one look at me, did a quick sobriety scan with his third eye of judgment, and said, “Sir, not tonight.” Apparently, enthusiasm and a slight lean to the left now count as intoxication. I wasn’t drunk, I was emotionally well-seasoned. But Lucky’s didn’t care. The only thing they served me was humility with a side of fresh air out front. The vibe? Stunning. The steak I didn’t eat? Probably life-changing. The shame spiral? Perfectly medium rare.

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Montecito, Tre Lune is a delightful Italian eatery that captures the essence of traditional dining. With its charming ambiance featuring rustic decor and vintage Italian posters, it sets the perfect stage for a romantic evening or a memorable gathering with loved ones. The menu boasts an array of classic dishes including pastas, pizzas, and risottos, all crafted with care and authenticity. Notably accommodating to dietary preferences, Tre Lune offers gluten-free options upon request.
Arguably the best restaurant in town, and one of the best Italian restaurants in the US. The appetizer bread with the lemony pesto and the house-made chili oil on the side was excellent, so I had high expectations even before we had the main dish. And as expected, the pasta and the dessert were all amazing. We had linguini alla vongole and rigatoni al tre funghi. The pasta was well cooked and full of flavor. The tomato cream sauce was well balanced. Tiramisu was soft and plated well. Every dish was quite unique and well executed. The staff were very kind and professional. Our waiter, Aria, was friendly and attentive, and she made our experience at Tre Lune even more special. Ample street parking, beautiful interior, and great service. Recommend making a reservation early especially for a dinner on weekends.

From welcoming us into the door to boxing our pizza Ignacio’s service was impeccable. 10/10 would come back just because of him! Wish I had cash so my tip only went to him but I will be back!
Sam J — Google review
Oh my!! My dear colleague took me out to Tre Lune for lunch the other day and let me tell you - the pasta… a dream 😊🥰 and the bread they serve with the pesto spread… another dream. Very nice experience here!
Living G — Google review
Ah, Tre Lune. Where the chairs aren't just for sitting on. They're a legacy. A tribute to those who've dedicated countless hours of their lives—and probably a good chunk of their wallets—to this establishment. One can only wonder, what's the expiration date on immortality? Does your chair get taken down once a new regular comes along and pays more tribute? Or do they just wait for the inevitable? Regardless of your potential future as a tiny wall ornament, the food is worth the risk. The carpaccio was so wonderfully tender, you'll wonder if it even needed to be chewed. The fagioli salad was a mountain of fresh goodness—a good thing, because you'll need the fuel to take on the other dishes. The fettuccine mare e monti was a test of willpower, a dish so delicious and overwhelmingly generous that I couldn't finish it. This place is not for the faint of heart, or stomach. I'd also like to give a shout-out to the service, which was attentive without being cloying, and the parking situation, which was surprisingly manageable for a place that's clearly a high-demand chair museum. Just be careful with the patio heaters; they're either set to "balmy" or "surface of the sun," with no in-between. The dirty martini, however, was just right. You'll need it after surviving the patio.
Jordan G — Google review
We have a friend in the area who seems to know everyone in the local restaurants. We’ve visited Tre Lune a few times, and each time service has been relaxed and not-rushed. The food’s been great each time. If you’re looking for fresh and light (and cheese), the Burrata Alla Caprese is just that. If you want to share it, sharing is possible, but not necessary. *wink*. We haven’t had a bad dish here. Most recently, we opted for dishes off the “Special” menu. They had a Fettuccine Stroganoff with steak, and we ordered a couple plates of those along with the short rib risotto. I stuck to the stroganoff, which was delicious. The steak was supposed to be medium, but some pieces were a bit more rare, which is fine with me (order to overcook because most places undercook). The sauce and noodles were comfort food goodness. Outside seating is pleasant and they have heaters for chilly days/evening. Inside is cozy and feels like you’re dining in Italy with friends and family.
Becky B — Google review
From the very beginning the best Italian restaurant in Montecito! The bread was awesome; the pasta, mind-blowing; the wine selection too.
C A — Google review
This is officially my and my Partner’s favorite restaurant in the Santa Barbara / Montecito area, and we don’t even live locally as we drive all the way from LA county! Had our lunch here with my 6 other great friends because I wanted to share with them this great gem, all coming from LA and had a blast! At first, I was having difficulty with booking because two of my couple friends brought their fur babies with them. Shout out to Sophia for handling the situation and placed us in the patio area and everyone was happy including the fur babies! She’s the best! Our servers Fidencio ( officially our favorite!) and Fernando are always very on point and very knowledgeable about everything in the menu and we loved their recommendations! Food was as always great and everyone was happy with their meals! Parking is street parking and we had no problem with it.
Chat S — Google review
Food was amazing and service was good, but nothing about the push to get us out was Italian. We were a few mins late for our reservation and were told we could be seated but only had an hour. We barely had enough time to finish our wine and were not offered dessert. In Italy there are several courses offered and people stay and enjoy company and the meal for hours in the restaurants, it would be rude to give a time limit or even offer the bill.

New American restaurant
Bar
The Honor Bar is a trendy and lively restaurant located in Santa Barbara, California. It offers a variety of New American dishes, cocktails, and wines in a vibrant atmosphere. The restaurant also features dog-friendly outdoor seating, making it a great spot for pet owners to enjoy a meal with their furry friends. With its inviting ambiance and diverse menu options, The Honor Bar provides an enjoyable dining experience for both locals and visitors alike.
The best French dip sandwich I’ve had in years! The meat was sliced paper thin, and bread was a perfect texture to still hold the sandwich together while dripping in the comforting au jus. I would probably add some cheese to it next time I order, and I easily went through the creamy horseradish sauce before getting to the end of the sandwich (I asked for extra but don’t think I got it?). We ate at the bar top, which was fun to watch the hustle and bustle, but it was the start of Mother’s Day weekend, so it was a bit busier than expected. The bar chairs aren’t my favorite. Definitely looking forward to revisiting.
Becky B — Google review
The food was outstanding. We began with a smoked salmon appetizer and french fries, both of which were delicious. For our main course, we ordered burgers, a chicken sandwich, chicken ball pasta with tomato sauce and a salad with goat cheese and dates. Everything was incredibly tasty 😋 The service was very friendly, and we didn't feel rushed, even though the place was packed and busy.
Pn L — Google review
Stopped in on a Wednesday night a little after 6pm. They only take walk-ins so we put our name on a list and were told it’d be around 45 minutes. There are a few chairs you can wait for your table in out front- you are also able to order drinks and a few different apps here. The wait time ended up only being around 15 or so minutes. We were escorted inside to a small booth meant for two people and immediately asked if we wanted to order drinks. Two other servers checked in shortly thereafter to make sure we’d been helped. We ended up ordering drinks and a few appetizers as well as an entree to share- the deviled eggs, the chicken meatballs and the Pine Room Salad as well as the fries with dipping sauce. For our entree we ordered the omelette. The appetizers left a bit to be desired in terms of taste and portion sizing. Both the deviled eggs and meatballs came as a serving of 3 which felt like an odd choice since all of the booths inside seat two people and the vast majority of people there were a party of two. The drinks were fairly good and arrived quickly. The best thing that we ordered was the omelette with goat cheese in it. Overall- the service is excellent and friendly but the food left a bit to be desired. Fairly reasonably priced given its location in Montecito.

Honor Bar's patio is a great place for people watching and the food is really good too. As we sat eating our lunch, a delivery truck drive away and revealed a large mirrored dog statue being driven around in a trailer. When I say large, I mean, like, really large. I'm guessing it was 7 foot tall. But the food was really good. I had a Cubano and my wife had the burger. Fries were delicious and crispy. Eat here.
Devin C — Google review
This place is great! Tasty food, and a hip, but classy atmosphere. Not only that, but Mr. Kim, the manager of Honor Bar, is an impeccable host. As a local concierge in the area for over a decade, I search the area to find the very best places to send my guests, many of which are traveling from other countries. The Honor Bar never disappoints! The many times I have gone myself, I always get the same dish: the prime rib French dip, which is usually cooked to perfection! Of the many times I have gone, only once was it not cooked to my liking, but Mr. Kim kindly took the time to explain to me when they cook the prime rib throughout the day and the best time to order it if I want it cooked a certain way. I even brought my family in and all were impressed! I hope to keep coming back!
Peter G — Google review
The five star goes to the host which I don’t know her name and to Angelica at the bar. She is sweet and professional. We requested a booth after we had seating at the bar to have opportunity to speak to one a other and Angelica was the only one professional enough to make this a smoother experience. The lady manager could have been more understanding and kind to move us since the restaurant is almost empty on a Sunday night. Except she approved the request with a bit of an attitude. Food was outstanding.
Shahrzad B — Google review
Long life to this place ! What a discovery! 🤩 I had already been to Gulfstream and loved it, and this place is just as amazing. Food, quality, and service are a solid 10/10. Everything was served in just 5 minutes, and although the salad came out at the same time as the main dishes, when we asked for the check they told us they wouldn’t charge us for it because it had been “late.” Honestly, we hadn’t even noticed! Such a thoughtful gesture we even asked them to please include it because we enjoyed it. It’s the little details like this that make a restaurant stand out from the rest. Definitely coming back!

Spanish restaurant
Loquita Santa Barbara is a bustling spot with a warm atmosphere and an outdoor patio, offering farm-fresh Spanish tapas and artisanal cocktails. It is part of Acme Hospitality's collection of popular eateries in the Funk Zone, including The Lark, Les Marchands, Lucky Penny, Helena Street Bakery, and the Santa Barbara Wine Collective. Recently added to this culinary lineup is Tyger Tyger, drawing crowds for its Northern Thai curried pork noodles and Vietnamese crepes.
Absolutely incredible. Gorgeous upscale plating, creative fascinating dishes/combinations, mind-blowing taste. Best octopus we've ever had. The goat milk custard with honey, caramelized onions, and peaches was my favorite. This place is SO pretty - delightful ambience. Eat outside!! I can't wait to go back.
Lauren O — Google review
We went for an early dinner and had great service. Food was delicious and plentiful. The cheese plate was nice sized with an interesting fennel marmalade. We had a fabulous artichoke dish and the paella was excellent. An outstanding meal.
Anna Z — Google review
Loquita is an absolutely amazing culinary experience. The presentation is great; the variety of tastes, flavors, and smells is well crafted in every dish. I highly recommend the paella in whatever variation strikes you as appealing. Each one has its own charms; all three variations are a complete food adventure you will not regret. Reservations a week or more in advance are highly recommended if you don't want an extended wait for a table on a Friday/weekend/holiday. A word about atmosphere: the dress code here is mostly as you are. Don't show up straight off the beach, but you'll find everything from suits and dresses to shorts and Hawaiian shirts among the patrons. This is a popular restaurant, so it will be busy and it can get a bit loud at peak dinner rush. Finally, the service team here is friendly, helpful, and prompt. All of this said, expect a fine dining price, because that is what you are getting. With desert but no alcohol, we were north of $65 per person before tip. Thank you Loquita team! We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and we hope to be back at some point in the not-too-distant future.

I had an incredible dining experience at Laquita in Santa Barbara. The atmosphere is warm, vibrant, and inviting — the perfect setting to enjoy authentic Spanish flavors. From the moment we sat down, the staff made us feel welcome with friendly, attentive service and great menu recommendations. The food was exceptional. The paella was rich and aromatic, cooked to perfection with a wonderful depth of flavor
A H — Google review
The service, food, and presentation were all excellent. The drinks were also commendable, and the servers demonstrated thoroughness in inquiring about food allergies and offering appropriate alternatives or substitutions. While street parking is limited, the city parking lot across the street is a viable recommendation.
Paula H — Google review
Amazing food; beautiful presentation. Very chic and bright decor. Friendly and quick service. I highly recommend all the items we ordered, which were the: pan con tomate, croquetas, crudo, and the mariscos paella. All were very delicious and my husband and I will definitely be back whenever we are back in town.
Raquel K — Google review
Get the courtyard seat if you can! The greenery is an excellent vibe to accompany the fresh fare. I’d suggest getting ample bread to soak up the delicious sauces of the dishes (we were starved when we got there so it was a no brainer from us). They’re also dog friendly :) the sweetest pug patiently sat across from us through the meal!
Tahlia C — Google review
Loquita Santa Barbara is our go-to restaurant whenever we're in town. We always order one of their delicious paella dishes and the charred broccolini, and we like to try a variety of their other appetizers, like oysters or octopus. On our recent visit, we tried the newly added Pinxto Taste Tour experience and it was fantastic. The quality of their paella seems to get better with every visit; it's a dish they've really perfected over the years. I highly recommend the Mariscos paella, which features bomba rice, Manila clams, jumbo prawns, grilled squid, squid ink, and a topping of green peas and garlic aioli. The service at Loquita is consistently excellent. The servers and hostesses are always attentive and impressive. This time, we had a wonderful server named Angie who provided great service. If you're looking for an unforgettable meal in Santa Barbara, I highly recommend making a reservation at Loquita. You won't regret it!

Tapas bar
Milk & Honey is a trendy tapas bar located in downtown Santa Barbara, known for its creative cocktails and small plates with a twist. The restaurant offers a loungey atmosphere and photogenic drinks made with local ingredients and artisan spirits. With an innovative craft cocktail menu, it's a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The menu features a wide array of dishes suitable for every kind of diner, making it an excellent choice for families.
Such great drinks, my favorite is the beat drink; it’s so smooth and sweet but not too sweet. The sweet potato fries are incredible, must order and they’re on happy hour. I love the Brussels, not fried but covered in butter
Emily — Google review
I was expecting tapas in the Spanish sense but was still satisfied with what felt like a more American leaning vibe. The salad and Brussel sprouts dishes were by far the best among the several we tried. PB&J sliders are interesting to me. The service was good and they paced serving the dishes really well.
Grish240 — Google review
Love the ambiance of the restaurant, I like the fire and wood elements. Staff was attentive and very friendly. It felt upscale but relaxed. We got the bacon wrapped figs, lamb sliders, mole tacos, and the brie n jam bites. The only thing I didn't care for was the brie. Texture and flavors were not for me. Lamb was cooked perfectly with great flavors, tacos were tasty, and I could eat two plates of the bacon wrapped figs. Bit pricey for portions, but what you would expect for quality at a tapas place. Gave 5 for overall experience.
Ali M — Google review
The food wasn’t my favorite only because it was a bit bland but the quality was great. The customer service was 10/10. I sat outside near the fire which was cozy and the inside seating was a bit more intimate. Great spot for a date or small dinner with family/friends.
Dianne G — Google review
I’ve been here many times, it’s one of my favorite tapas places in Santa Barbara. Very dark and cozy. Perfect for date night. My husband and I got one of the tables in the back with curtain dividers so it felt really intimate. Service was quick. Food leans toward Spanish-American, and you can find a variety of popular favorites like sliders, bacon wrapped dates, etc. We decided to order the Calamari, Ahi Nachos, Burrata the flavor and Mariscos Paella. Calamari had a nice flakiness, perfectly crisp coating. Very tasty. Ahi Nachos had a nice kick in spice and was pretty solid in flavor. The Burrata was my favorite with tomatoes and garlic; it was incredibly delicious with the buttered bread. The Paella wasn’t the most authentic Mariscos Paella, considering it had chicken; though it was still very robust and flavorful. Cocktails were strong and fruity. I ordered the Oaxacan Pear-adise, which I highly recommend for something smoky and sweet. My husband ordered the Midnight In The Garden and it was equally satisfying.

Honestly, stopped by this place on a trip to Santa Barbara and I can’t stop thinking about the dates. The ambiance and the food were insane. Everything we ordered was just incredible. I cannot wait to come back!

We had a small family get together at Milk and Honey this past weekend and it was truly a treat! This cozy tapas and artisan cocktail place is a hidden gem in Santa Barbara. I have traveled the world, eating and drinking in countless fine dining establishments. The quality and variety of offerings at Milk and Honey stands up to the best of them!! Their version of paella was beautifully presented, flavor was great and with beautifully fresh ingredients. Their service is timely and friendly, while the variety of beautifully prepared dishes and cocktails for varied tastes served are impressive! I would highly recommend Milk and Honey, truly a worthwhile place for excellent food, cocktails and atmosphere!!

Just ok, worth checking out but we won't be coming back. Too many other better options around at this price point. 2nd time here, last time was in 2019. The vibe is nice and food flavors are unique but the prices are steep for the portions served. $15 or so for two bite size sliders, I'll pass and just go to Third Window for a smash burger. Don't come starving or you will have to spend over $50 a person to be anywhere near full. Ahi nachos were tasty.

Cocktail bar
Nestled in the heart of Santa Barbara, The Good Lion is a chic bar that effortlessly combines an inviting atmosphere with a passion for mixology. With its plush leather banquettes and live jazz music, this spot offers an ever-evolving cocktail menu that highlights local ingredients sourced from organic farms. Signature drinks like the Get Rich or Die Chai-ing and Pear-Pear Plane showcase unique flavor profiles that are as delightful to taste as they are visually appealing.
Our favorite bar in the world! My husband and I are huge cocktail connoisseurs. We’ve been to over 30 countries, and honestly, we always gravitate back to The Good Lion. The technique from these bartenders is so unique, the vibe is sexy, and the drinks are consistently amazing every time we visit. This time, I stuck with a classic gin martini, but their Kentucky Mule is also incredible. It has a little spice to it that makes it stand out. Feels like a speak easy vibes, you can either sit/stand inside or sit outside on State Street.
Sydney G — Google review
Mine and my friends' favorite cocktail bar in Santa Barbara The Good Lion is one of a couple of the highest level of quality and service for cocktail bars in Santa Barbara. In addition, their prices are the same or lower than other cocktail bars, and often lower than cocktails from restaurants. The bartenders are always willing to help guide you through drinks, both on and off menu. This is great place if you are visiting Santa Barbara and want to plant yourself in downtown or experience some of the best SB has to offer. It is also a great piece of a date night, meet-up with friends, or simply for someone who wants to have the confidence their classic cocktail will be made very well. Putting 4 stars on the atmosphere only because, during peak times, it can become crowded and hard to find a place to sit due to its smaller size. Aside from that, it's great. Dimly lit with an almost speak-easy vibe.

We stopped in for cocktails with our oldest son before heading next door to the Granada Theater to see Samara Joy. The atmosphere was lively with great jazz music, and the cocktails were expertly crafted — creative, balanced, and beautifully presented. The staff was attentive, and the vibe was the perfect mix of classy and relaxed. A fantastic pre-show spot that set the tone for a memorable evening!

Played a show here. The drinks are dope. The crew had a great time . Though all of California need to do something about the drinks being super high in price, I understand it’s inflation. We need to find an alternative such as paying a fee for self serve like a jukebox for drinks. To cut bar costs and help more people coming. Just a thought.

This Tiki-style bar in the Funk Zone is a great place to enjoy cocktails made with fresh and imaginative ingredients. The drinks are affordable, and the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and hospitable. The decor reflects a maritime theme, with light wood floors and rustic cabinetry. Test Pilot's Thai iced teas are especially excellent. It's perfect for groups who want to get together and have a good time.
Test Pilot is a fun, tiki bar located in the Funk Zone of Santa Barbara. We stopped by here while waiting for an event and really enjoyed the drinks we got. We got the Ken-Tiki Kentucky and Oaxan Dead. Both were great but we both agreed that the Ken-Tiki Kentycky was the better of the two. It was not crowded when we went but we both still enjoyed the atmosphere.

Had a great drink. My husband had the bananacapa. I had the ube piña colada. Both were delicious. The wine bar next door had a dj that didn’t know how to dj, so sitting inside allowed us to not be accosted by his inability to read the parking lot. The music inside the bar was good. We didn’t have food (I don’t think they have food available).

Cool bar with excellent tropical drinks. We had the Montenegro a pineapple full of rum and fruit juices, it's for 2 people. We also had the purple potato Pina Colada and the Hotel Nacional. Great area, more local than State street.

As someone who usually orders a tequila soda or mojito at the bar, I actually could not decide which drink to try here! I came with my girl friend on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. I got the Thai tea drink, and while it did not really taste like Thai tea, it was still VERY well-balanced. The whole menu was super fun and the bartender was very patient in helpful in recommending drinks. The interior is super cute and there's plenty of outdoor seating. Would definitely come again!

Fantastic drinks and a very cool bartender. He was understanding and accommodating of my allergy and helped me find a drink I could safely enjoy (but still served in a fun tiki glass!). I truly enjoyed my time there, We planned on being one and done, but we stayed for a second drink because we just needed to try more of the drinks and the atmosphere was so cool.

Absolutely love this place. Staff is fantastically creative and understands flavor profiles and can make recommendations for you. This is not your typical tiki bar. Very upscale, but still relaxed. Drinks are made from scratch, and never too sweet. A gem in the funk zone hidden amongst the wineries. A must for locals and tourists.

Best bar in town! This tiki bar is conveniently located in the funk zone and always leaves us happy. We came back a few times throughout the last few weeks for fun cocktails with dazzling visuals! Some favorites include the (Potentially) Spicy Margarita, Zombie, Ken-Tiki Kentucky, and the Purple Mai Tai was a popular choice! The seating indoors and high tables outside are both comfortable and plentiful. The bartenders here know what they’re doing and make drinks that are sure to pack a punch. Worth mentioning the crowds on weekend nights so be prepared to wait a bit. So worth it if you ask me!

Love this tiki bar. So many drinks to choose from, and many of them are rum based (rumologist here). The low, warm mood lighting and the not-overly-done decor set it off. And they had my favorite rum, Mount Gay XO. Will be back.

Los Arroyos Montecito Mexican Restaurant & Take Out is a local chain serving comforting Mexican food and margaritas amidst south-of-the-border decor. It is highly regarded for its delicious sit-down dining experience. The martinis at Luckys steakhouse, a Montecito institution, are just as timeless as the people-watching opportunities.
Grew up going to their Camarillo location, but was very happy to see Los Arroyos thriving in a proper restaurant setting. The food was lovely as always. Some of the best mole I’ve had outside of Mexico!!! Their food is top notch and tastes amazing.
Kam C — Google review
It’s so seriously overpriced. We live right around the corner and despite the convenience we do not find it worth the cost for what you get. We tried it again for burrito week and got the chicken runaway burrito for $9, which is a very reasonable price for a chicken bean and cheese w/guac burrito, without rice mind you, normally around $20, more if you add rice. Guacamole was entirely on the first ⅓ of the burrito, terrible distribution, mouthful of guac. The flour tortilla was moist and borderline soggy, not a nice texture, it seemed like they attempted to sear the tortilla but did it in a hurry. We attempted to sear it better on our skillet at home. Burrito week should be a time to market their burritos as the best so we would want to return for the rest of the year, this was not the case here and we do not plan on returning which is a bummer because it’s the closest Mexican restaurant to us. I leave a poor review because I feel like if I called management it would fall on deaf ears and nothing would change. This is Montecito’s tourist trap.

This was the second time my daughter and I had eaten at Los Arroyos and it was just as delicious as the first time! She ordered the shrimp tacos & I ordered the salmon tacos. Both entrees included black beans served in a crisp corn tortilla "bowl" and a serving of Mexican rice. My daughter never liked black beans until she had them here. She loved them!! I had a good sized portion of salmon in each taco which was very tender and juicy. My daughter had a generous amount of shrimp in her tacos. The restaurant was very clean and the service was great. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The parking lot isn't very big as there are many shops located on the same street, but there's some parking in front of the restaurant. We'll definitely be back!

As I was headed down 101 South from Goleta during rush hour no less, I decided that rather than spend 25 minutes sitting in the car moving just inches every few minutes, it was best to get off the freeway and enjoy a leisurely dinner until traffic was flowing again. As a new arrival to the SB area, I opted for the first Mexican restaurant I spotted just off the freeway. The place is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Montecito on Coast Village Road. Parking was easy, hassle free and no meters! I slipped into a parking space right in front of Los Arroyos (1280 Coast Village Hiway). I was immediately greeted and seated at a lovely table (I chose to dine al fresco--it is Santa Barbara where the weather is beautiful, after all!). Camille was quick to get my order and before I could barely get started on the chips, my meal arrived. I ordered salmon enchiladas and while I am a salmon fan I have never tasted anything like what I just had. The sauce was creamy but not sickeningly rich; it was a a red-sauce base but didn't trigger heartburn. The salmon was fresh, cooked just right without being dry and overcooked, and it was topped with thin slices of avocado. In a word, it was otherworldly. Guacamole was equally appealing to the taste buds-- not your everyday, smashed up avocado with some generic Pico di gallo tossed in. Same with the salad--fresh, crispy and served with house Ranch. Los Arroyos takes Mexican food to a whole other level with their secret recipes. (I asked what was in their salsa and, true to chef culture, was politely informed it was proprietary). To top it all off, they have an impressive offering of wine, beer, and mixed drinks--Justin cab never disappoints! Definitely a 5-star dining experience across the board! I'll be back.

Southeast Asian restaurant
Sama Sama Kitchen is a modern Cal-Indonesian restaurant known for its farm-to-fork concept and Southeast Asian small plates. The name 'Sama Sama' translates to 'You're welcome' in Indonesian, reflecting the warm and inviting atmosphere of the place. This spot has earned recognition, including making it to the 2019 Bib Gourmand list from Michelin Guide California.
We had an excellent meal at Sama Sama. We started off with the brussels which were outstanding-some of the best brussels I have ever eaten. We then got the wings (split 1/2 between the vietnamese and traditional wings) and the braised pork noodles. I was very impressed by everything and felt that the experience and food lived up to its Michelin designation. My only con was that the noodles were a tiny bit dry for what I was expecting. This was a minuscule complaint in the setting of this excellent food, service, and atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Alan R — Google review
I lived in Santa Barbara for 4 years but somehow managed to never make it to Sama Sama, partially due to the amount of hype the restaurant receives. I always thought to myself - it can’t be THAT good right? Newsflash, Andrew, it’s THAT good! They’re known for their crispy chicken wings, and for good reason. The meat was tender, the exterior was crispy, and the sauces were delightful. Our favorite dish we ordered though, was their black cod with coconut rice. The meat was succulent, the sauce was a perfect balance of rich and spicy, and the rice was an excellent vessel to soak up all the flavor. Our waitress was also an expert of the menu, and was very patient walking us through how to best order - including our order of pork noodle to go. The next time we are back in Santa Barbar, we will be back at Sama Sama.
Andrew B — Google review
Love seeing Southeast Asian flavors making a splash onto the culinary scene. Was everything perfect? Not quite but I’d still come back. We didn’t have a reservation so we had to wait 20-30 min at the bar next door till seats opened up. There was a little confusion because the host kept saying the tables inside including the bar were taken so we were initially sat outside but it was a little chilly. We noticed a group of three guys who also didn’t have a reservation came after us and took the bar seats that we were told were taken. No big deal they eventually gave us a large table inside. It was just a little confusing. Service the rest of the night was fantastic so would just chalk this up to miscommunication. Food wise there’s lot to try here and I’d say the flavors are pretty pan-southeast Asian if not, leaned more towards Malay-Indonesian. The best dish we had by far were the wings. They’re pretty tiny but they give you a decent amount and they’re packed with flavor. The signature wing has a sweet tamarind glaze whereas the Vietnamese wing is bright and salty (def my fave). The pork noodles were good but was slightly on the salty side. Otherwise the pork was great and they didn’t skimp on the meat. Noodles held up to the sauce and wasn’t over cooked. The whole fried rock fish was fried to perfection. Crispy outside with succulent meat inside. Came with a tamarind dipping sauce that also fell on the salty side. Needed either some acid to brighten it up or to be slightly diluted. All in all some minor flaws but an overall great dining experience with delicious dishes. Will definitely be back to try more.

This place is so unique and full of flavor! 🌟🍴 Another amazing part? The great stuff (you know what I mean 😉)—SO good. We all absolutely loved Emma 💕 She felt like a friend—we seriously wanted to take her home! 🏡🥰 The twist on the drinks and food was next level 🍹🍛 My fave was the fried rice—the textures, the crunch, the flavor... chef’s kiss 👨‍🍳👌 And the wings? 🔥🍗 A little kick, but packed with flavor. Highly recommend! 🙌💯

Local restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating with delicious food! Also dog friendly, we had our mini dachshund puppy sitting outside and they provided a water bowl. The food is all meant for sharing. We ordered the pork ribs, wings, and braised pork mie goreng, and all three were very flavorful. The waitress was friendly, and recommended we get 2-3 dishes per person.

Delicious little restaurant with exotic South East Asian flavors. Every dish was pretty good. A lot of Indonesian flavors on the menu. My family loved the signature wings and the crispy rice salad. My favorites were the “Naughty Nuri” spare ribs, which were fall off the bone tender, and the nasa gureng jawa which, some of the best and most unique fried rice I’ve ever had.
Randy — Google review
Weekday lunch is not crowded. Very relaxing environment and cozy. I have mixed feelings on the food. Definitely I tasted better fish wrapped in banana leaves elsewhere and their ribs were overcooked and burnt but good seasoning inside. The sample platter for veggies appetizer is great. Loved every bite and wanted more of these appetizers. Maybe our expectations are set too high since it is recommended by Michelin guide. There are just so many good restaurants in Santa Barbara and I wonder how it gets the recognition. Maybe we just didn’t order the right main dishes. It is still good but not excellent restaurant judging by the way how the ribs were cooked.

Californian restaurant
The Lark Santa Barbara is a vibrant dining destination nestled in the heart of the Funk Zone, housed in a charming former fish market. This stylish eatery, named after the iconic Southern Pacific Railway train, showcases New American cuisine that emphasizes artisanal and seasonal ingredients sourced from California's central coast. With its warm wood-lined interiors and inviting patio, The Lark offers an ideal setting for casual gatherings with friends.
Chef Jason and his amazing team always delivers a unique gourmet dining experience that must be enjoyed to truly understand it. This may seem like hyperbole, but take it from us, world travelers to over 70 international destinations at least once who have sampled some great cuisine worldwide, including some with those coveted “stars”, there is absolutely no place like The Lark. We’ve been dining here almost since they opened, and this time actually flew to California from
Florida with having a celebratory meal here top of mind. As we have written before in previous reviews, if you live in L.A. or somewhere within even a few hours away, it would be worth the drive to sample the cuisine at The Lark.
Ira L — Google review
The Lark was outstanding from the start and easily one of the most memorable meals I’ve had in Santa Barbara. The complimentary chili-lime pickled popcorn was surprisingly addictive, even for someone who doesn’t usually like pickled flavors. The skillet cornbread was rich, decadent, and one of the best I’ve ever had. We also tried the fried chicken, seasonal pappardelle, and coconut sorbet for dessert. The chicken dish had incredible flavor and texture, while the sorbet was a refreshing and unexpected standout at the end of the meal. The pasta was good, very tomato-forward, though I’d probably try a different option next time. Drinks were solid. My mocktail was refreshing but small in size, and the wine pairing was well chosen with help from the staff. The service was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient, which made the experience even better. The restaurant itself has a lively, welcoming vibe in a shared dining district, making it perfect for a date night or a special stop on a day trip. Prices reflect the shareable, elevated plates, but the quality and creativity of the food make it worth it. If you’re visiting Santa Barbara, The Lark is a must-stop for a memorable dining experience.

Our first time here and we had a nice experience with this place for food tasting. Pricey but you get what you pay for. Service and waitress were superb. For four person and we all shared a taste of each dish and appetizers. We parked on the stree parking for free or you can park with a fee on a parking lot.

I'd been meaning to come here, and I finally did. Loved the atmosphere and the service. The weather was nice and it didn't feel cold even with all the doors fully open. Unfortunately, the food wasn't on par with our expectations. The fried chicken was very good, and the garnish went very well with it. The pasta and the shrimp toast, however, could be improved. For example, it was difficult to understand what they were going for with the shrimp toast, and each component wasn't extraordinary to make up for the loss. As for the hand-pulled pasta, the pasta was well cooked, but the acidity didn't really elevate the dish. Maybe others like this tarty acidity, but it didn't work for me.

WOW, just WOW 🤩✨ This place is a whole vibe! The moment you walk in, you’re hit with that chill-but-romantic atmosphere—whether you’re inside or outside, it just feels like the perfect escape. 💫🌿 The wine bar? Absolutely irresistible. 🍷✨ Sitting there with a glass in hand, chatting away and nibbling on some small plates = pure happiness. 🥂🧀 Honestly, it’s the kind of spot where time just slips away. And let me tell you about the pre-meal BBQ popcorn… 🤯🍿🔥 IT. IS. EVERYTHING. Totally addictive—I couldn’t stop eating it! Even the neighborhood kitty wandered over, sniffing around like, “hey, share some with me!” 🐱💖 The oysters were on the “fun-size” side 🦪—like, blink and they’re gone—but everything else was fresh, tasty, and totally worth it 👌. Already plotting my next visit! 🙌💯

We had a delightful experience here. We were exhausted from our road trip but wanted to celebrate a new purchase. We got a seat on the lovely patio by the outdoor fireplace. Everything on the menu looked delicious, but we were both so captivated by the side dishes that we strategized so we could order as many as possible! Parmesan potato cake? Yum! Asparagus, yes, please. Almond pesto cauliflower? EVERYTHING tastes great with pesto! The salmon was delicious, with a buttery texture and crispy skin. A great dining experience. My only quibble is that the food came out too quickly, but we DID tell our waiter we were hungry, so perhaps that was just his responsiveness.

The Lark - Santa Barbara The first time I've truly enjoyed a meal in Santa Barbara. Easily one of my top 10 meals ever! Unforgettable! We sat in the Confessional area -- cozy, modern, and full of character -- surrounded by the restaurant's warm, wood-and-industrial vibe. The staff was excellent: attentive, friendly, and clearly proud of the food they serve. The portions are generous. Hubby and I shared everything except drinks and were satiated. The Browned Butter Rosemary Cornbread (served in a tiny cast-iron skillet) MIND BLOWING! Rich, honeyed, and perfect with my Saged and Confused bourbon cocktail. The apple and gouda salad was crisp, bright, and refreshing after that decadent start. Hubby and I were gushing at how delicious and refreshing this salad was. We aren't even big salad eaters! It's that good! Finally, and the fried chicken (3boneless pieces) over peppery grits and a sweet, somewhat honeyed sauce, was very tasty. The grits were a little too peppery IMO, but it was still a wonderful dish. Everything felt fresh, intentional, and beautifully executed. The Lark is reason enough to come back to Santa Barbara.

This place was a great find on our one day trip in Santa Barbara. We're from Ohio and so we were traveling the coast of California looking for all different unique places to visit and experience. This place definitely made the top of the list. Their food was fabulous, great happy hour deals. The atmosphere was so special and just fun! I recommend it to anyone who's looking for something to eat with friends or family, or even by yourself. They had plenty of TVs if you're there to watch sports but they didn't stand out because the rest of the atmosphere is decorated so well. Lots of seating options, the restrooms were clean, and our server was great!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely amazing experience! The food was outstanding — I ordered the Fajita Salad with Filet Mignon, and it was absolutely delicious. I loved that it was loaded with fresh, raw vegetables, which is exactly what I always look for. Everything was flavorful and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was fantastic, and I really appreciated that they were open late when most other restaurants were already closing. The bartender TJ was phenomenal — friendly, professional, and incredibly hardworking. I did notice he seemed to be juggling a lot while another staff member appeared to have it a bit easier, but TJ handled everything with such grace and efficiency. This restaurant is truly lucky to have him. I can’t wait to come back and tip him well next time! I also appreciate management for taking the time to discuss a concern I had, which ended up being a misunderstanding on my part. Popular Party Spot for Tourists & the Occasional Local. Best for BOGO Bunch. Always a line Usual slow service Mediocre food (except brunch) A few smiling faces Great people watching We joke we swing by for a margarita when walking by or the obligatory stop during Fiesta. Otherwise Sandbar goes unnoticed. That is until I remember they have a Buy One Get One bunch option from a local app. Then we make reservations and head down early on a weekend to find a sleepy State St. A recent visit was packed. Good thing I made a reservation for up front on the patio. The majority of heir seating is open air but the 4 tops along the railing offer a relaxed view of Santa Barbara people watching. If you’re planning A group on the weekend plan ahead and make a res. For brunch, until 1p, there’s a mimosa by the. Title option for $25. The sparking wine comes with a carafe of OJ so at current market values the juice alone is $25. It’s a fun way to kick start your day drinking. I really enjoyed the Birria Tacos Benedict $13.49 Simple concept with poached eggs and consommé. Delicious with a little kick. I will order again. My Brunch Partner loved Taqueria Tacos de Hugo’s with Fresh Carrizo $11.75. The carrizo was in sliced links and not crumble. A nice touch. Come for the party.

The Sandbar was a last minute decision while walking on State Street in downtown Santa Barbara. It was a really busy night during Fiesta weekend so the hostess was a bit frazzled getting the tables turned over fast enough. There was about a 30 min wait for a table, but everyone was really friendly. The wait staff was efficient and attentive. The food was classic Ca mexican with flavorful sauces and combinations. Hard to choose what to order with a robust menu. The bean dip that came with the chips was really yummy. And the margaritas were AMAZING! There was live music and lots of activity, so I am sure this is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.

Lotusland is a 37-acre estate and botanical garden located in Montecito, known for its collection of over 3,000 plants, including rare cycads, cacti, and euphorbias. Once owned by the late Madame Ganna Walska, this Victorian mansion has been transformed into a stunning horticultural wonderland with 25 distinct gardens such as the Japanese Garden, Insectarium, and the Blue Garden.
This is a great garden with a wide variety of gardening styles. If you are a serious gardener or interested in hordiculture you will want to take the docent tour. If you just want to look at a pretty garden take the self guided tour. Wear comfortable shoes. Reservation required to visit
Gregg W — Google review
TOTALLY worth the price of admission. Book well in advance, because they DO sell out. The number of tickets per visit slot are limited, so it never felt crowded. I’m glad did the self guided tour, because we could wander and linger as we pleased, stopping to draw, meditate or just breathe in the verdant peace of this place. There is a docent led tour available, but don’t be afraid to choose the self-guided option. There are volunteers everywhere to help you navigate the gardens. Make sure to stop at the store on the way out-they had all kinds of cool plants for sale at reasonable prices.
Nikki B — Google review
No doubt about it, this place is absolutely gorgeous! So much to see, so peaceful, a real reprieve from stress. However, giving only 3 stars due to the pricing. You are only allowed 2 hours in your time slot to see so much. We could only cover maybe half of the gardens, and had to rush at that. You'd need to come twice to see the entire gardens at a non-rushed pace, and at $60 a ticket, that's a lot of money for 4 hours of a self-guided walk through a garden.

Great customer service, even better food, and the drinks were delicious! All around this place was hitting every area of what a restaurant should be! If you want good and flavorful food, customer service that is out of this world, and drinks that are to die for... well... this place is for you!

Service was very friendly at the bar. Had a couple of different margaritas and they were fantastic.....you can really tell the difference when quality ingredients are used. For food I had the oysters stuffed with tuna, shrimp aquachile Negro and the crab enchiladas. All three were very delicious and would recommend anything that I ordered. The chips and salsa(2 different salsas) were also very good.

Santo Mezcal is a fantastic spot in Santa Barbara if you’re looking for authentic flavors with a modern, elevated touch. We started with chips and salsas, and each one had its own personality—the smoky salsa stood out, while the verde added a bright kick. The queso fundido with chorizo and poblano peppers came out bubbling hot in a skillet and was easily one of the highlights of the meal—gooey, flavorful, and perfect with tortillas. For the main course, the enchiladas were beautifully presented with a squash blossom and a fresh green salad on top. The flavors were layered and balanced—earthy mushrooms inside, a rich green sauce, and just the right touch of cream. Paired with rice and beans, it was both hearty and refined. Parking is valet only, but there are plenty of affordable public parking lots close by, so it’s easy to get in and out. Santo Mezcal combines traditional Mexican dishes with a creative twist, and everything feels fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Highly recommend if you’re in Santa Barbara!

They were out of duck carnitas and pork belly tacos! On the 4th of July long weekend of all times. I settled for the crispy tacos. It was good but I'd really rather have the pork belly tacos that the server recommended when we sat down. Oh well. Maybe next time. Service was good and attentive. Got a complimentary flan dessert for a birthday but no candle.

Came by around 4pm not too crowded, the food was delicious! I had the crab meat enchiladas and a Pacifico Michilada my server was Aldo and he was great on making recommendations and informed me to try out there breakfast during the weekends, the young lady that greeted me at door was also very informative and nice, I forgot her name 😓. But overall great experience and would recommend!

My cousin and I came here during a weekend getaway to see what all the hype was about—and it absolutely lived up to it! The service was super friendly, and the ambiance was cozy and welcoming. I had the Verde Enchiladas, my cousin had the Short Rib Tacos, and both were incredible. I also had a Mexican Mule that was perfectly made. Everything from start to finish was a 10/10. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner if you're in Santa Barbara!

We just arrived in Santa Barbara this morning and needed to grab a quick lunch before going to our scheduled Bellosguardo House tour. This place was delicious. The tortilla chips are out of this world, the guacamole is fantastic, the steak tacos are delicious and the cocktails were refreshing. The service and atmosphere were exceptional. We will be in town for five days and we will definitely be back to try more items.

Overly hyped and was extremely average. Service was mid, was given water in dirty glasses that still had lipstick residue from a previous customer! Absolutely not...try your luck at local food trucks...surely they're better than this

Historical landmark
Casa del Herrero, also known as the House of the Blacksmith, is a historic Spanish Revival estate located in Montecito. Built in 1925, this landmark offers tours of its meticulously appointed home filled with 15th and 16th Century Spanish artifacts and art from Spain's 'Golden Age.' The estate is set on 11 acres featuring Moorish-inspired gardens that contribute to its National Historic Landmark status.
We had a lovely tour today. The house is extremely beautiful and authentic to the family’s history, with all the original furnishings still on display. Your tour, although slightly more expensive than Hearst Castle ($50 vs $30), is far less crowded as it is only 10 of you going through the entire house and grounds. I found it to be more interesting and authentic than our visit to Hearst Castle yesterday as a result. Although I very much enjoyed the grandeur of that as well. I’m surprised that more people are not coming here, an excellent stop on your visit! Highly recommended.

A 1920s house built by a famous inventor, the Spanish architecture of a famous architect, decorated with furniture and artifacts from an old house in Spain. The gardens are a National Historic place.

The Casa Del Herrero (House of the Blacksmith) is a Time Machine back to the 1920’s and 30’s in Montecito, CA. Wrapped in the history, stories, and amazing facts of a time few of us think about. From handmade tiles to ceilings transported from churches in Italy, this home is made of magic. Thought and attention to detail is applied to every inch of the grounds, including the garden used for moonlit strolls under the full moon. A home filled with love, artistry, and community (And a workshop that made me green with jealousy). This place is a reminder of just what a home can be. More than just walls keeping the weather out but a fanciful world that provides rest and creativity, inspiring others even when the owners are long gone. If you get a chance to do the 90-minute tour you need to. It's a magical experience!

Nestled in the vibrant Funk Zone, The Cruisery is a delightful spot that seamlessly blends relaxation and fun for both humans and their furry companions. With an inviting outdoor patio, you can sip on creative cocktails like the Lavender Lemonade or Riviera Sunset while enjoying housemade dog biscuits from Helena Avenue Bakery. This place truly embraces happy hour vibes with an extensive menu catering to all tastes—both two-legged and four-legged!
We have had the culinary pleasure of eating here on several occasions. Happily the food and service is consistently excellent. A fun atmosphere for friends and family with indoor and outdoor seating. Bottles of cold water always appear quickly to quench your thirst after walking State Street. Fantastic chips and guacamole to start your meal is a great choice. The BBQ chicken salad is quite satisfying with plenty of chicken tossed with yummy bacon and a fantastic bbq dressing. The Cruisery burger and the Korean chicken burger are mouthfuls of flavor perfection. Those fries? So, so good! A fabulous roasted beet salad is so refreshing and light. Don’t miss the happy hour tapas! On our recent visit we enjoyed the lavender lemonade and the tangerine spritz. Both light and lovely with the bonus of being an adult beverage. Come and enjoy the atmosphere, excellent service and consistently excellent food!

Review was done by Emily, our well behaved pup. You know when you're out “window shopping” with your humans and you spot one lonely water bowl outside a café and think, “Nice try”? Yeah, well, The Cruisery wasn’t playing around. They had flights of water bowls lined up out front. FLIGHTS. I knew something special was brewing… and it wasn’t just beer. Next thing I know, a human I’ve never sniffed before is handing me a treat! I’m thinking, Is this a pitch for a dog-friendly timeshare? But no—better. We head inside, and boom—another treat. And not the usual dry Milk Bone nonsense. I’m talking premium, once-a-year-holiday-level treats. We get seated by a window (great squirrel-watching views), and then it happens... They hand us menus and I get one. A dog menu. Just. For. Me. My humans ordered appetizers (chips & guac—she shared one chip), but I scored big: salmon and rice. When it arrived, my human actually said she could eat it. I had to remind her—stay in your lane, lady. Those treats? Just whet my appetite. Paws down: 🐾 Great food 🐾 Great service 🐾 Great humans 5 Paws - 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

Wanted to leave a lovely review, our hotel recommended us to visit this restaurant when we checked in to Riviera hotel, she was right, you guys are so amazing with pets, they felt so loved and comfortable, lovely treat for them too. Food was amazing, drinks, atmosphere everything was excellent. Too bad you guys were closed Monday Tuesday because we were at the door was second dinner following day. Thank you for hospitality!!!

Loved this place! We dined on the patio, fun to people watch. The food was delicious. You can’t go wrong with any item. I expected to get a few slices of bacon and out came a pile of bacon. The fried potatoes were flavorful. The Chest Day plate had the most tender steak. The burrito was tasty with the side salsas. We were just visiting Santa Barbara, but if we lived there we’d visit often!
Jenn G — Google review
We visited this restaurant on 08/31/2025 and had a very disappointing experience. Last year, on the same date, we had a wonderful lunch here, which is why we decided to come back this year. Unfortunately, the service we received was unacceptable. There were three of us, and we came on bicycles. The host clearly showed displeasure about the bikes, even though we set them aside. Then he asked us to come back to him “without bicycles” so he could see us properly, which felt unnecessary and rude. Finally, he refused to seat us outside, saying the only free tables were for larger groups, and therefore not available for us. Even more shocking was that he refused a family with a stroller and a baby right before us. Does this mean parents have to get rid of their baby just to have a meal here? This kind of attitude toward guests is unacceptable. I strongly urge the management to take action, because such behavior damages the restaurant’s reputation and drives loyal customers away.
Tetiana P — Google review
Dark bar with a good lowkey vibe. A lot of the other spots had more of a club feel. We just wanted dinner so we came in. Ordered a bunch of different appetizers and entrees and shared them around. Everything we tried was really good! The mixed drinks pack a big punch. And a bunch of good gluten free options. Great place!

We had a lovely evening at Culter’s! Heather our bartender was knowledgeable about the menu and knew all about the history behind the spirits. Best espresso martini i’ve ever tasted, hands down! Super festive and delicious drinks. We’ll for sure be back! They also have heaters 🤩.

I work in California for about six weeks every year and I took a group of my interns out for a day drinking session and a beach day. We drove to Santa Barbara and I took them to Cutler's Artisan Spirits. We sampled some of their spirits and they gave a us a quick tour. The staff was friendly and we ended up buying a few bottles. All in all, this wasn't my favorite distillery, but it is worth a quick stop by to visit.

This was a beautiful day to sit outside in Santa Barbara, sipping a tasting flight of Vodka, Gin, Whiskey, and Liqueur at Cutler's Artisan Spirits. We ended up buying 2 bottles of Grandma's Tommy's Apple Pie Liqueur. It was like drinking an apple pie out of a glass.

Great find! Was just walking to do some wine tasting and found this little shop. Would have missed it if I didn't peek inside. The owner walked us through what he had to offer. I really enjoyed the Bourbon and apple pie liqueur. He had a sample of the coffee liqueur that was coming out soon; what a tease. Have to say it was pleasant surprise. The owner gave us a little history of the family band. Worth stopping in and picking up a bottle or two.
MT D — Google review
My wife had visited this place last year and recommend I should give it a go. When I arrived the gentlemen who served me was conducting a tasting session, when I asked how much it would be he replied in a manner that clearly indicated his displeasure in being interrupted. I was told that it was $10 a flight or $3 a shot. Due to the servers clear displeasure on my being there I oped for the shot option for the drink that I was most interested in trying. I recognise that this was a taster sample though the servers clear displeasure on my existence was also reflected in the pitiful sample size. The bourbon was nice though the service and quantity are an embarrassment to the business. I visited this place with the intention of doing a flight to see if I wanted to purchase a bottle however, after the way I was treated by the server this was not going to happen. Overall although the shot of burbon was nice bad service tight servings, so really wouldn't bother.

Shaker Mill is a vibrant new addition to Santa Barbara's cocktail scene, inspired by the creators of popular local bars like The Good Lion and Test Pilot. This lively Cuban bar captures the essence of tropical flair with its colorful decor featuring flamingos and an inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements its innovative cocktail offerings.
I went last night for the first time and enjoyed the experience. It is a lively atmosphere, on the louder side (it was a less busy Friday) and the drinks were good. The service was great- the staff and bartenders were very attentive. For example, I left my self-serve water glass near my cocktail, and it was empty because I drank the water and a bartender refilled it without me having to ask. The staff was so attentive & polite! Will be back again! Recommend to anyone that wants to be in a lively friendly environment with the potential to meet strangers and/or be around some chatter, joy and merriness!

Bartenders are knowledgeable and very friendly. Open for lunch and dinner. They said they are open until 1:00 am with food until then.

Bartenders are very knowledgeable and understands flavor profiles. Drinks are great, atmosphere is great, however it can be very loud when busy, and service at the bar can be slow when they are busy, though understandable, it’s something to be aware of when they are busy. Staff is very friendly and understands social Ques.

Amazing Cuban food. I ordered the Plato Mixto so I could try a variety of their food. Each item was thoughtfully and meticulously prepared. The mojo pork roast was tender and delicious, the black beans were savory, the avocado salad was tangy, the maduros were cinnamonly sweet, but the crispy yet delicate yucca fries, with the garlic cohoyo dipping sauce, were the star of the show.

Sushi by Scratch Restaurants: Montecito is a must-visit for those seeking unique and fresh-from-the-ocean dining experiences. This Michelin-recommended restaurant offers an intimate and authentic omakase dinner. Another omakase option, Ama Sushi, can be found at Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito.
I thoroughly enjoyed this Michelin level omakase experience here. The food, service, and ambiance were unmatched. Valet service was complementary at the Montecito Inn. I went for my birthday and was given an extreme level of attentiveness throughout the service and they even placed a candle in my desert. The sushi was extremely fresh and the flavors exploded in my mouth. The sake pairing provided a matching sake pairing for every 3 courses and was excellent for the price that was paid. Kudos to the entire team from the host, chefs and the bartender. I will definitely be back!

One of the best sushi I had this year! Very creative but also aligned with highly quality edomae sushi. It has very limited seats, better book ahead.

We were so lucky to walk in at the last minute. (I’m always the one who makes decisions at the last second.) If I could rate the atmosphere, I would give it a 10! I traveled back to Santa Barbara all the way from the East Coast. I miss everything here! This place brings back memories of my college days. 🥲🥲 Thank you for hosting the omakase experience for us to celebrate my friend’s belated graduation.
Sugarfree “ — Google review
You get there early and start with a cocktail (or a mocktail) in the lobby. You're then welcomed into the restaurant, and you find your name written in chalk (I used a magic eraser to erase mine for privacy). Chefs were welcoming and very professional. Every sushi was good, though I prefer less seasoning. You can check out the photos to see what kind of sushi you get, but I think they change their menus every now and then. The entire setlist was well organized, and some sushi combos were impressive. We went there to celebrate a special day, and we had a great time. But with previous omakase experiences I've had, there were a couple of eyebrow-raising moments. 1) Preparation. Sushi pieces for each course are prepared altogether, and other chefs start their prep perhaps to provide sushi in a streamlined fashion. I would've preferred if each party was catered to separately. There are many chefs working on sushi already, and I would've loved if each chef handled 2-4 customers at a time to pace differently. We were seated right in front of the prep board and got the best view of the performance (sushi-torching and final prep), but some seats seemed a bit too far from the show. 2) Peer pressure. 1) It felt as if getting a drink wasn't optional, because the head chef introduced a drink specialist whose job was to make you cocktails. I personally prefer drinking water when I'm in for a big culinary experience, but everybody was getting a drink, and we didn't want to say no and make the drink specialist not have a job for us. 2) When the course ends, the head chef asks us whether we'd like to try two more sushi courses made by other chefs to give them a chance to shine, with additional charge. Of course you partake in the ritual because you don't wanna not give them a chance and you don't wanna ruin your special day. We were already very full, but nobody was saying no thanks, so we ended up signing up for two additional courses, feeling short-changed. If you're not brave enough to say no to "a chance for other chefs to shine," then expect to pay a lot more than the menu price. We still liked the experience there, and we had a great time. But given that it was once a Michellin 1-star restaurant, I must say I expected a bit more from them. Probably won't revisit.
Will H — Google review
This was our first time at the Sushi Bar and it didn't disappoint. The sushi was sure of the best we have ever had, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed 17 servings 16 of sushi and 1 as dessert. At the end they let us revisit any dishes and also explained some off the menu dishes. I would highly recommend this for anyone who is a connoisseur of sushi and would like to experience it in an intimate setting with 10 other people.
Saxon C — Google review
Worth every dollar. This is not a quick, or cost-conscious, dinner. But if you are looking for the best sushi in the area, as well as an intimate, engaging, and attentive dinner experience, this is the place. The staff was talented, skilled, and knowledgeable. Our seating was full (10 guests), and that still meant only 2 guests for each staff member. I did not once ask for anything, because I never needed to. We added on the house drink pairing to our order, which was very well thought out, and well crafted. All said, including drinks, tax, tip, etc, we walked out the door for about $375 per person. We were offered additional add-ons but there was no pressure to select them. Whether you can afford to make this a regular thing or you need to save up, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

New favorite bar! Beautiful ambiance and design. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Fantastic cocktails and wine options. I’m obsessed with the cafe frites, lamb burger & potato pave. We always start with oysters. They have a great source and change them every day or two. Pair with the ice cold martini! It comes with a side car 🍸 I’m celiac & they have lots of options for me. 🫶🏼 Also they are open late which is great to have in Montecito!

Wonderful experience and really sorry we waited so long to give this restaurant and specialty cocktail bar a try. Arrived as a party of four at 5:15 on a Sunday and Andrea, our host and barman was very accommodating by scooting two tables together, providing us very comfortable seating without feeling crowded. Although the menu for food items is currently a bit small, everything we tried out was excellent. Andrea explained they were planning in the next few weeks to add numerous new items. We had the lamb burger, the steak frittes, and a special tomato soup which was outstanding, served in it's own petit creuset accompanied with a delicious cheese crusted toast. Excellent ! Nice wine selection and we loved the Rose from France. Andrea managed to do bar work for other customers, all the table waiting for us and several others with absolutely no delays. Pretty impressive service. Lion's Tale is on our radar for a repeat visit soon.

Brophy Bros. is a bustling, casual harborside restaurant known for its local seafood, clam bar, and signature Bloody Marys. The patio offers stunning views of the Santa Barbara Harbor, the Pacific Ocean, and the Santa Ynez Mountains. This family-owned establishment has been serving classic seaworthy fare since 1986 and has been voted as the top seafood restaurant and clam chowder spot in Santa Barbara.
One of the best restaurants around Santa Barbara. We lined up 15 minutes before they opened at 11am on a Sunday, and a long line quickly formed behind us. Right when they opened they filled table and seat at the bar, and for very good reason. First off the views overlooking the harbor really elevate the dining experience. The food is super fresh and delicious. They are famous for their clam chowder and fish n chips, and they did not disappoint. Easily the best clam chowder I have ever had, and the fish had the perfect ratio of batter to fish. The cold appetizer combo was also great for trying different seafoods, all of which were fresh. Staff are amazing and friendly.

We visited Brophy Bros. for both lunch and dinner on the same day, based on recommendations from family and friends in Santa Barbara. The restaurant was busy, but we were seated after a short 10-minute wait. We ordered the clam chowder, oysters, and prawns, tuna melt sandwich, all incredibly fresh and delicious. Sitting outside with a beautiful view of the harbor made the experience even better. The staff were kind and attentive. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Santa Barbara and happily recommend it to others!

We’ve been coming to this restaurant for years, and it has consistently been an excellent experience. The service is impressive considering how busy the restaurant usually is and the fact most of the staff are local college students. The bar is lively and it’s always fun to have a drink with a bowl of chowder looking out to the Pacific Ocean. But the food…great flavor, large portions, and always satisfying.

I was informed that Brophy Bros. is THEE place to go in Santa Barbara for yummy seafood. I can confirm this is true. The place was packed for dinner - which is always a good sign. I had the seafood pasta and it was fabulous. The portion size was very generous and the pasta was chock full of all kinds of delicious seafood. I would totally go back to Brophy Bros. So good!

If you’re visiting Santa Barbara, you definitely need to come to Brophy Bros. This iconic seafood restaurant is located right on the pier, offering incredible ocean views and a perfect coastal dining experience. 🌊 Stunning Location The view from Brophy Bros. is simply breathtaking. Overlooking the marina, you can watch boats glide in and out while enjoying the fresh sea breeze. The setting alone is worth the visit — especially during sunset when the entire harbor glows. It’s a peaceful yet vibrant spot to unwind and take in the beauty of Santa Barbara. 🦐 Fresh Seafood The seafood is top-notch — fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. From clam chowder and oysters to their famous shrimp cocktail and fish dishes, everything is packed with quality and taste. The portions are generous, and the seafood is truly the star of the menu. If you love coastal cuisine, this is your spot. 🍻 Good Vibe & Great People The atmosphere at Brophy Bros. is casual, fun, and full of life. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the crowd is a mix of locals and travelers — all there to enjoy good food and good energy. You’ll find that beautiful people and a relaxed vibe make this place feel like a true Santa Barbara gem. 📸 Picture-Perfect Spot Between the scenic views, delicious food, and bustling pier surroundings, Brophy Bros. is also a great place to take photos and capture memories. Whether you’re celebrating something or just passing through, it’s a restaurant that leaves an impression.

We loved our time in Santa Barbara and with loads of places to eat we asked some locals who recommended we must try Brophy bros…upstairs seating. We got there at 12 on a Sunday and it was packed, we asked the two hostesses for a table (whom both were super smiley and attentive) and we had on within 10 minutes. We started with the prawn cocktail and the baked clams….. the baked clams were one of the best fish starters I have ever had (so good we ordered another portion). The seabass was also delicious and so fresh. The vibe was buzzing and loud (in a good way) and the service was great. It is a must stop if coming to Santa Barbara. The lady in the bar downstairs makes a mean Bloody Mary.

I couldn't decide whether local or touristic. Quite busy place, nor easy to find a place to sit. We had salat and raw fish meal. Had some beer. Wiev is great. You can sit inside the bar or outside at the balcony. Both place are good. Easy to park and see around. There are some shops that could be interesting to visit. Must see

Our first choice was clam chowder and other seafoods like everyone else’s comment says but I selected NY steak for main dish. It was unexpectedly excellent! Thank you for the great memory of Santa Barbara!

Nestled in the vibrant Kimpton Canary Hotel, Finch & Fork is a stylish yet unassuming New American farm-to-table restaurant that offers a diverse array of dishes perfect for any occasion. Inspired by Santa Barbara's coastal bounty, the menu features traditional plates elevated by coastal influences, such as deviled eggs, gnocchi with locally made parmesan, and fresh seafood like mussels, scallops, and salmon.
Classy spot with great food and incredible service. We visited to try the new Vegan items on their SB Vegan Chef challenge menu, and we were not disappointed. We got the tostadas from the challenge menu + the mushroom dan dan noodles and the beluga lentils from their normal dinner menu. It was all out of this world delicious. I would go back for the dan dan noodles everyday if I could. They also have amazing mocktails and NA beer. I tried the Spicy AF mocktail with zero proof tequila and was pleasantly surprised. We went on a Monday evening and it was pretty quiet so we got above and beyond service from our server and the manager. The location is stunning. The walk down to the bathroom is gorgeous. I’d come back anytime!

Went here recently with my family to celebrate my mother's birthday because we have been multiple times before and she expressed this was one of her favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. Specifically the Brussels Sprouts! Sadly, the Brussels sprouts were no longer on the menu as they were our favorite dish, gone. Even the waiter agreed and was unsure why they removed them from the menu. However, that truly did not ruin our experience at all. We ordered quite a bit of things and enjoyed the night because everything was good! We ordered the deviled eggs, which were small and nothing too crazy, but a good option to share for the table! We also ordered the kung pao cauliflower. Now this dish, took us all by complete surprise and quite honestly, stole the show for the whole night. We legit ended up ordering 3 in total because of how good these were. The sauce, the crunch on the cauliflower, the little spice backed by sweet, this was some bomb cauliflower. Would ABSOLUTELY come back just for this dish truly. We all would! The Tomato Veloute, Pork Chop, Short Rib Pappardelle, Scallops and Catch of the Day were all very tasty and good options! Oysters are amazing. A great amount of liquor in them! My only suggestion would definitely be the broccolini. We each took 1-2 bites, just not good. It barely had any flavor and almost tasted like it was undercooked. Would not recommend it, but definitely does not overshadow the rest of the phenomenal dishes. Highly recommend it for a good night out with friends and family and you MUST get the Kung Pao Cauliflower. HAVE TO!

I would have never guessed this was part of a hotel 🏨😮! Such a fun spot for brunch 🥞✨. They had a unique twist on classic recipes 🍳🍠—everything was refreshing, tasty, and full of flavor 😋🌿. You can tell the ingredients are high quality and super fresh. Our server Erik was amazing 🙌—so attentive and kind. Big thank you to him for making the experience even better! 💙👏 Definitely a hidden gem I’d come back to! 🌟🍴

Great restaurant attached to the Kimpton Canary Hotel. Staff was excellent and friendly and the food was delicious. We had both a dinner there (the black cod in coconut curry was a great choice) and breakfast (definitely get the short rib sweet potato hash). Surprise highlight are the deviled eggs. We loved them so much we had them twice. And the foccacia bread is light, fluffy, and filled with delicious herbiness. Since we booked through Chase's The Edit program, we had credits toward both meals, which certainly made the cost more reasonable, but I would say that the restaurant is good enough that I would have happily paid full price.

We’re from out of town on our honeymoon and saw this restaurant on Google and it looked great! The Poblano burger I had was excellent. I typically eat fast (thanks military!) but this burger had so many layers of flavor to it. You have to dissect the taste of each bite. It’s complex and delicious. The fries were the perfect amount of crispy and salty, also complex in its flavor. Food came quickly from the kitchen! Jaime, our server was attentive and polite. The atmosphere is quiet, modern, and minimal

Finch & Fork restaurant is inside the Kimpton Canary Hotel; an IHG chain. It’s a great restaurant with great menu choices that satisfies all tastes. We had the 12 ounces steak 🥩; it was tender and delicious. The wild caught Salmon 🍣 was not fishy at all. The Caesar salad 🥗 was really tasty and fresh. Breakfast is (ok) for my taste. I had breakfast there because it was included. Otherwise, I wouldn’t go there for breakfast again. Thanks to Robert and Erick and his team for a great service 🙏🌹

Ordered room service from here at the Kimpton Canary Hotel. The service was quick and the food was phenomenal. I loved every single thing I tried. The bacon breakfast burrito was delicious and all the ingredients inside were cooked perfectly. The avocado toast was so flavorful and refreshing. The French fries had a perfect texture. The smoked salmon bagel was loaded and the salmon was very fresh. Not pictured is the OPP brunch cocktail and that was also a delicious, light cocktail to get your day started. I highly recommend this restaurant. Will definitely be back

My friend and I went to Finch and Folk for Happy Hour on Sunday. Sun-Thursday, their Happy hour is from 4-6. Drinks are $10. They also have menu items you can purchase. The bartender was friendly and helpful. We ordered deviled eggs and Mac 'n Cheese. The bar is beautiful and fully stocked. You can sit in the lounge area on comfy seats or at the bar. The bathrooms are located down the stairs, or by elevator. We had dinner reservations for 5 p.m. as we were going to see Nickel Creek at the Granada Theatre. My friend had Scallops and Peaches and Burrata Cheese. I had a dish with Cauliflower and Purple Potatoes. I spent around 30 dollars for dinner and my friend spent around 60 dollars for her dinner and dessert. Our waiter was fun. He had a wonderful personality and was a huge help in serving us and getting us out the door to our concert. The dining room is beautiful and well-appointed. Please see the attached photos.

The Margerum Santa Barbara Tasting Room is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts. Founded by Doug Margerum, a prominent figure in the local wine community, this modern tasting room offers an array of delightful wines to sample. The acclaimed Sybarite sauvignon blanc is a standout with its balanced mix of bright acidity and minerality alongside fuller-bodied stone fruit flavors. The venue's scenic views and contemporary interior provide an inviting setting for enjoying these fine wines.
Margerum Santa Barbara Tasting Room was a fantastic spot for a relaxed and elevated experience. We enjoyed a beautiful cheese and charcuterie board paired with a bottle of sparkling wine, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully arranged. For dessert, we tried their truffle chocolates and an affogato — the chocolates were rich, smooth, and artfully crafted, while the affogato was creamy, bold, and the perfect finish to the tasting. The outdoor seating was peaceful and charming, making it an ideal place to sip, snack, and unwind.

I stop by this wine tasting place on a Saturday after beach time in Santa Barbara. It wasn't crowded and the atmosphere makes you feel relaxed. From the waitress (a blond young girl, very kind and friendly) to the chef David, who approached to our table and kindly brought us a Brochetas to enjoy with the wine. We got later a margarita pizza that was so delicious. I can't wait to come back to this place in Santa Barbara and try more of the appetizers in the menu by David. Another positive thing is the parking is next to this place.

It's a gorgeous place with excellent wine and food and a great ambiance, but what really stands out is the staff. I called last minute to make a reservation on behalf of VIPs travelling from out of town. I spoke first with Alisia at their corporate office, who was so kind and helpful and personally connected me with Lisa in the Santa Barbara tasting room. Lisa went way out of her way to make everything truly special. Her communication was top notch and professional. She seated my boss and her guest in a fantastic location, shared information on food/beverage options, checked about allergies, and was generally a joy to work with. She made the experience both leading up to the visit and onsite seamless. Our guest left raving about the visit and already planning a return trip. Thank you!

I love coming to Margerum. One of the best tasting rooms in Santa Barbara. Their warm and friendly hospitality makes everything even better. Meg always takes care of us. She is so attentive, hospitable friendly and knowledgable about the wine. Her warm and charismatic personality makes you feel at home. So if you ever come to Margerum come and ask for Meg. She will take care of you. I love to pair the Cinsult wine with a prossciuto and arugula flat bread. so delicious!

I recently visited this wine tasting place in Santa Barbara and had an excellent experience. The venue is clean and tidy, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The staff was incredibly nice and knowledgeable, enhancing our visit with their expertise. The wine we chose was really good and is made in-house, which added a special touch to the tasting. Overall, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy some quality wine.

Came here with friends and it was fine. Nothing was amazing but nothing was bad. There was a good selection of wines at many price points. The flat breads and cheeses were pretty good. Our server was very nice and funny but didn't really explain the different cheeses on the cheese board or much about the wines. I would definitely go back again. There were no major issues here and we had a perfectly lovely time.
Craig L — Google review
Wine selection was OK but tasting was more expensive than others and pours were on the light side. Staff was nice but commentary on wines was pretty high level. I wouldn’t recommend this one for tasting - $100 for two tastings with tip didn’t deliver on value we’d hoped. Edit: Dropped my review down to 1 star due to the snarky response from the owner. To be clear; there are two wine tasting options on the menu and both are $40 per person. you can skip this one.

To fairly assess a winery/tasting room I look for several factors; the space, the wines, and culinary options. I’ve visited Margerum twice, and unfortunately, both visits left me disappointed. The Space & Ambience:
The tasting room itself has a Mediterranean exterior, matches the hotel across the street so Margerum must be renting the spot. The interior has two levels, a second level intended for member wine storage and events along with the lower serving area. At first glance, it looks impressive. But once upstairs, I noticed the heat —add people and lights, and it’s more like a toaster than a wine lounge. Wines stored in that heat is not good for the wine. As someone who cares about wine integrity I was particularly concerned about seeing wine stored in warm places. (Members can wait months to pick up their warmed wines). On top of the improper upper storage I see the magnums of red & white wines are stored above their lower level refrigerators, where heat from the the cooling units rises. For wines that move (sell) slowly, that’s a recipe for premature aging. Wine presentation is one thing, but storage conditions matter even more. It’s as if a turn and burn philosophy is the goal? I on the other hand want good wines. The wine industry is in a slump and treating wines like that shows a level of mismanagement. The Wines:
To me, the wines felt average. I tasted several Syrahs and a few whites that lacked distinction. One Pinot stood out as balanced and enjoyable, but overall, I didn’t feel the French-inspired style they were shooting for quite hit the mark. The Food:
This was the highlight. The dishes were prepared well, fresh, and flavorful. I ordered a salad & a flatbread and appreciated the presentation. However, the Amaro Affogato fell short; they served it swimming in cold coffee rather than being the indulgent French-inspired espresso dessert one might expect. Why? An affogato is treat and should be treated as such. Still, the food was definitely the strongest part of the Margerum experience. The Service:
Here’s where the visit truly suffered. On one occasion, we were rushed through our tasting, which isn’t the goal of tasting wine. On the other visit I witnessed several negative interactions with what I’d assume is the manager, an older lady, addressing staff in front of guests in a way that felt rude and uncomfortable. On the second interaction the manager lady was short and rude to the customers sitting next to us. It was enough for the customers to look at us and comment on what happened. Customer engagement was inconsistent. In an area like Santa Barbara, excellent hospitality is the goal, this was disappointing. Service is a huge part of a tasting room experience, and unfortunately, Margerum falls short. Overall: Is it a bar, a winery, a lounge, I’m not sure if they know? If you’re looking for a quick glass of wine and aren’t too concerned about wine quality or service Margerum might be fine for you. But for serious wine lovers or those seeking a thoughtful tasting experience, there are many other tasting rooms in Santa Barbara that provide balanced wines, better storage practices, and more attentive service.

Pane E Vino Trattoria is a beloved local spot in Montecito, CA, known for its romantic garden patio and top-notch Italian cuisine. For nearly 30 years, this trattoria has maintained a strong reputation for its inviting ambiance, attentive service, and high-quality dishes. The Northern Italian menu features deceptively simple yet deliciously complex dishes crafted from impeccable ingredients. From fresh grilled fish to homemade pastas with mouthwatering sauces, the food here is a true delight.
FEB2025: a pure gem, most authentic Italian food and great service; maybe a tad noisy but you forget it easily. I highly recommend their salads - we tried one which was simply the best ever, the simplest salad but in its purest form, just focusing on raw ingredient taste

Flor De Maiz is a relaxed restaurant located along Santa Barbara's waterfront, offering traditional Oaxacan cuisine with a California twist. The menu features avant-garde dishes like Pulpo al Pesto and Burrata Azteca, best enjoyed with their signature cocktails and margaritas. Specializing in mole, the restaurant also offers a variety of taco options and an extensive tequila selection.
We had an excellent experience eating a late lunch/early dinner at an outdoor table right on the waterfront. The unique drinks (specialty margaritas) were perfectly mixed. The food quality was great, the taste of fresh ingredients was just right. The service was excellent as well. We had a small glitch as we arrived during a staff shift change. Our original waiter did not arrive for work, but another waiter quickly noticed and took care of us. The other employees were all alert and attentive and obviously well& trained to complete tasks effectively. (The best service shines through when you see how a small problem is handled. )

Fantastic! Food and ambience were top tier. We enjoyed cocktails, wine, tacos, enchiladas, and churros. Everything was delicious. Portions were also generous including complimentary chips and dip. We would happily go back to try more items on the menu. I also like that they only do reservations for large parties. This is helpful for travelers like us who don’t know exactly when they’re going to be ready for dinner. We went on a Monday around 6pm with no wait for 2 people. However by the 7pm dinner rush the restaurant was full which was impressive for a Monday. So, I’d expect a bit of a wait on the weekends. The food was worth it for sure!

Flor de Maiz is a beautiful spot with an upscale, eclectic twist on Mexican cuisine--definitely not your standard fare. We came with a party of 10, and across the board, everyone loved their food. The only hiccup: dishes didn't all come out together, and my husband's entrée lagged more than 10 minutes after the rest of the table. Highlights: * Empanada - Perfectly done and flavorful. * Tortilla Soup - Loved the tableside pour-over of the broth; rich and full of flavor. * Ceviche - Generous portion and well-balanced acidity. A touch heavy on the pineapple, but otherwise delicious. * Risotto (Seafood & Steak/Mushroom) - Both were great, but the seafood option edged out as the favorite. * Shrimp Tacos - A must-try! * Lamb & New York Strip - Both cooked beautifully and full of flavor. Skip: * Side of Baby Carrots - Served plain and steamed with no seasoning or sauce--definitely underwhelming compared to everything else. Overall, a gorgeous venue with creative dishes and great flavors. Just hope the timing in the kitchen improves because the food itself is worth coming back for. And service was spotty

I ordered the empanadas and chicken enchiladas, and both dishes were outstanding. The empanadas were perfectly crisp with a rich, savory filling, while the enchiladas were generously sauced and packed with flavor. The presentation was beautiful, and the portions were satisfying without being overwhelming. The cocktails deserve a special mention—Flor de Maíz is known for its modern mixology, and it shows. My drink was balanced, refreshing, and paired wonderfully with the meal. Whether you're into margaritas or something more adventurous, the bar won’t disappoint. Service was attentive and friendly, even during a busy afternoon. The staff made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of, and the ocean breeze from the patio added a relaxing touch to the whole experience. Jesus was amazing. Overall, Flor de Maíz is a must-visit for anyone craving elevated Mexican cuisine in Santa Barbara. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this spot delivers on flavor, atmosphere, and hospitality.

Sushi restaurant
Oku is a stylish restaurant that offers Asian-fusion cuisine, sushi, and cocktails with a stunning ocean view. Located across from Stearns Wharf and East Beach, it's a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The menu features small plates of classic dishes like sushi, sashimi, yakisoba, and ramen soup as well as creative surprises such as the halibut-crab-avocado 'lollipop' or the lobster-tempura-Wagyu beef roll.
My wife and I went to Oku on a Friday with a family member that was in town and we had an exceptional experience. This was our second time there and experience was just as great as the first. The staff were very friendly, especially our server Sarah, who gave awesome service. They have many great drink selections. The food is fantastic. As an appetizer, we tried the shrimp gyoza, which was very tasty. All the sushi we ate was delicious. The fresh ingredients, combined with excellent preparation created for superb sushi. Our favorite rolls were the “Everybody Loves Ramon” and the “Crouching Tiger.” The restaurant has a prime location. I recommend to make a reservation, so you can sit upstairs overlooking beachside Santa Barbara. Oku is a great place to go for a date night. We definitely will be back again to explore the other dishes on the menu.

Oku was recommended to us by a local, and boy are we happy that we took his recommendation! The sushi roll we got (everybody loves Raymond) was so good and fresh. The nigiri is a must order and the shrimp and crab gyoza were delicious. Last the shrimp and garlic noodles was like a party in my mouth. I would definitely go back! The drinks were great too and we got seated outside with a reservation on a Thursday night. I couldn’t be happier with the overall and taste experience.
Brooke B — Google review
We made reservations and came in for a birthday this weekend. I am not saying the food is bad at all but it was not at what we were expecting for a nice place on the beach. There were a bit of fried and mayo filled items rather than fresh fish and some of the cocktails did not really go with delicate dishes. It was still a pleasant experience because our waitress was amazing and you cannot beat that view. Still, I would likely not return unless there were more dishes focused on showcasing fresh seafood. Our best bites were the fatty tuna roll and the sushi "lollipops." Lychee martini was also very good but I didn't enjoy the mezcal old fashion unfortunately. Something to note... They will not guarantee a seat on the rooftop even with a reservation, we ate early so we were able to get a seat luckily. Prices were really reasonable for this area. 3 rolls, 2 drinks, and an appetizer was just over 100!
Eva D — Google review
Service: disappointed. The staff who led the way to our seats was very careless and just throw the menus on the table and took off. The staff who served our table is relatively welcoming even though it was the dinner peak time, but she introduced menu to other customers beside us which makes us quite unattended. Food: Kudo to the chef! From appetizer to sushi rolls, the flavors are so balanced and phenomenal! The Lava Roll is the right amount of spiciness (though we’re told it’s a 8.5/10 spicy level, for Asian it’s piece of cake haha). The 805 Roll is on the sweet side and the shiso definitely brings out the freshness. Ambiance: sadly the rooftop has a larger party so we weren’t able to get a seat, but the ambiance is pretty nice and chill.
Lydia C — Google review
As a vegan person, I LOVE their wide sushi vegan menu. Most of the Japanese restaurants I've been before, only have the basic roll of avocado and cucumber for vegans. Therefore, Oku offering all these different types of sushi rolls makes me want to come back quite often!!! Mushroom, peppers, asparagus, tofu, etc. Big vegan sushi menu!!! I highly recommend it
Leire P — Google review
Pretty cut and dry review: Fish rolls were good but nothing to write home about. The wagyu roll (Crazy Rich Asians) was a different story. This roll is super savory and maybe even a little bit too much so for one person. Would 100% come again just for the wagyu roll alone. Outside seating was nice too. Good view + heaters

We had the tomato confit, charred broccolini, and cheese plate - all were absolutely incredible; even my non-vegetarian friend loved the food. Nice wine selection, friendly staff, and a lovely spot by State Street - an amazing introduction for a first-time visitor to Santa Barbara!

Go for the vibes, stay for the fantastic selection of wines! It was so nice to sit outside away from the busyness of downtown and enjoy some wine before dinner. Staff was great, can’t beat the location, the place is very clean and well designed. Great spot to meet up with friends.

Really enjoyed my experience here. I don't usually go out to eat salad, but the execution on the dishes was excellent. I also appreciated the quick service after my order was placed. The atmosphere is original; I'll always keep this spot in mind when I'm in the area.

To me, a perfect place. Delicious, local and thoughtful food with divine natural wine. Can’t recommend their sunshine spritz and tomato confit enough!!

coulda fooled me with those reviews. I went in with an open mind and an empty stomach looking for a healthy meal, and left feeling like an idiot for dropping over 20 dollars on some lukewarm lentils with god knows whatever else veggies on top. you couldn't even pop it in the microwave for a few seconds before sending it out?? not to mention the flavour really wasnt anything to write home about. the thought that popped in my head when I took the first bite was "Im an idiot." So yeah maybe you can peddle this stuff to locals and they eat it up, but even someone like me in a much lower tax bracket has standards and boy was I disappointed. The staff was friendly and I did like the interior and the music playing, so cheers to that.

Stopped by after visiting the art museum. What a great find! All veggie menu and amazing wines. We sat outside. Big surprise are the beautiful Heller plates in all colors. We felt like we were at home! Added to my favorite vegetarian restaurants. The snap pea salad is so good and refreshing. We ate everything we ordered! Great serive too. Thanks Charly!

The James Joyce is a lively Irish pub located in the heart of Santa Barbara, California. Named after the renowned Irish novelist, this pub offers an authentic and cozy retreat filled with traditional music, live performances, and a wide selection of beverages. With its open, exposed-brick space and nightly live music events, it has become a staple for both locals and tourists. The atmosphere is intimate yet lively, making it a must-visit spot for anyone looking to experience the vibrant nightlife scene in Santa Barbara.
Wanna go Irish ? Go James Joyce ! A real Irish pub, especialy those nights with a live band are memorable. And an excellent Guinness ofcourse ! There are plenty of bars along State Street but for n endless night with music and great atmoshere: this is the place to be.

This is my favorite Irish pub in Santa Barbara. The Irish coffee is the bomb and they use homemade whipped cream to top it off. The music is so lively and incredible. I keep going back for more.

Homophobic bouncer kicked me out for dancing to Nicki Minaj's super bass sang by Karaoke. said something to the effect of "you need to understand some people don't want to see that kind of thing". He was bald and short, and very very unfriendly. kinda looked like joe rogen.
Mark J — Google review
UNSAFE! We are tourists to the area, and turned up to enjoy karaoke, but our night ended in the emergency room. My brother is allergic to nuts and there was ZERO SIGNAGE leading into the bar that nuts were all over the floor and in the air. There needs to be practical health and safety preventing this. The hospital said that this has happened before and is a known issue. Please do better James Joyce! You clearly don’t know what it’s like to not be able to breath, because after one incident you wouldn’t let this happen again.
Kelsey P — Google review
DANGER!!! Do not enter this bar if you have a peanut allergy. There is peanut dust all over the floor and in the air, and there is no signage on the entrance door or the front windows to make that clear to unsuspecting visitors. 20 minutes after entering the bar, we had to rush my son to the hospital where he was given oxygen and intravenous drugs to save his life. And when I talked to the manager the next day about it, his only response was I’m sorry but we’ve been running this place for 30 years that way, so maybe you shouldn’t come in. My next step will be to contact the local health department to see how they can allow this place to operate that way in this day and age.

This is just an all-around GREAT bar on State Street, Santa Barbara. A MUST if you are visiting and want to have drinks and listen to live music at a chill yet lively place. It's got a dose of dive bar to it with peanut shells littering the floor, and its casual atmosphere which makes it all the better in my opinion. Check this place out!

Nestled in the luxurious Rosewood Miramar Beach resort in Montecito, California, Miramar Beach Bar offers a stunning oceanfront setting for guests to savor refreshing cocktails and delectable appetizers. The bar provides an elegant and cozy atmosphere with inviting nooks featuring leather couches, velvet chairs, and wood-paneled walls. Guests can indulge in the breathtaking views of the ocean while enjoying signature drinks like the Miramar Bell Margarita or the Italian Rose.
Spent a delightful Sunday afternoon on Tues deck overlooking the ocean. Easy access with free Valet. It’s a space that fills up quickly and stays that way on the weekends. For good reason. Overlooking one of the choicest sections of beach on the California coast. Beautiful sand. Glassy water small surfable rollers at one end. No mass of hotels or commerce. Felt like a private beach. Lots of shade makes it easy to chill out and relax. Lounge like couch seating up front. Bar tops behind and a network of oversized shade canopies. The slight breeze bringing soft gentle ocean air keeping the environment perfect. A few steps down the stairs and you’re on the beach. It’s not crowded, even on a summer Saturday. Super walkable. Easy small waves lightly kicking the sand. It’s a remarkable location. As you might expect, the food was really good. Substantially better than you will find almost anywhere along this coast line. A solid menu that delivers on the descriptions. Staff was equally good. Way better than you’ll find in most restaurants. Happy to be there. Alive. Responsive before you even realized you needed to refill your water. Realistic in their description of the choices. And charming. Whoever does the hiring knows what they’re looking for and they deliver. A shout out to Tana, I’d steal her to be on my team. All in all truly deserving of 5 stars.

Miramar Beach Bar is attached to the Rosewood Miramar Beach hotel. This hotel is a 5 star luxury hotel; however, the beach bar is open to the public. It was quite nice getting to walk through the beautiful property and see the amazing views of the water. The glasses of wine we got were overall good as was the calamari but very expensive. Service was fine but nothing exceptional. If you come here, you are coming to experience the beautiful property and views rather than the food/drinks.

"I went there by accident while I was parking my car to charge the battery. It was truly fantastic! The ambiance, view, people, food, and drinks were all awesome. Everything there makes you feel like you could stay the whole day. The staff was so friendly. The prices were a bit high, but you definitely get what you pay for. Highly recommended!"
Sumamarn K — Google review
Service and ambience were good, and the little fireplace for chillier days was a really nice touch. The views were fantastic and definitely a highlight of the visit. The menu was slightly different than what we saw online, and there weren’t many non-spicy options, which made choosing a bit tricky. The food itself was good, but felt slightly overpriced for what you get. Overall, a great spot for the atmosphere and views, but check the menu in person before you go if you’re particular about spice!

We stopped into the Miramar Beach Bar just for a drink, and it was such a lovely experience. You park and walk through the stunning Miramar Hotel grounds, cross the railroad tracks, and the bar sits right above the beach with incredible ocean views. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a drink or light bites, even if you’re not staying at the hotel. With its relaxed coastal vibe and unbeatable scenery, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

My husband and I arrived for drinks, we didn’t have a reservation, the bar lounge was completely empty, we asked if we can sit to the right lounge area, mind you completely unoccupied, I told the hostess we didn’t have a reservation on a Tuesday afternoon as we were only there for cocktails, she said she had to ask her manager if it was okay, of course the rude manager looked me up and down. Completely offended by the experience my husband had at the restaurant. It's frustrating to be treated rudely, especially when the lounge area was unoccupied and we only planned to stay for cocktails. Thank god we were dressed up !! "looking you up and down" behavior, is generally considered unprofessional and disrespectful, regardless of the underlying reasons! Management skills needs improvements.

We arranged a welcome reception at La Paloma the night before my daughter's wedding. It was fantastic. The staff was so helpful picking the menu and arranging things. The food was fabulous. They also were very accommodating with the children and kids meals. We highly recommend them!!!

Had an outstanding dinner here on the patio. One of the best cornbreads I’ve ever had. The broccolini with whipped tahini was super flavorful. The baby back ribs with side of potato salad was chefs kiss. Nice local wine selection, and the service was wonderful!

We got off on the wrong foot, as we wanted to sit outside, but every table on the deck was rented out by a private event (I do not understand why so many places allow this). But the food and atmosphere that took a minute to liven up, was great! Drinks were even better. Only odd thing was that we were asked 5 times by different bus-boys and servers if they could take our plates, as we were still eating and had food on the plates. Overall, great place with good vibes!

Amazing brunch!! Everything was fantastic. Service was great, food was amazing (the burger is out of this world), and the patio atmosphere is exactly what we were looking for.

Loved Paloma Cafe! It was our first time there & it did not disappoint. Both our dinner dishes were delicious including fresh herbs & seasonal vegetable. We opted out of the dessert menu & swung back to the cornbread replacing the spicy topping with honey & a pat of butter. So good!! The (decaf) coffee was delish too! The staff were kind, friendly & accommodating. Love the outdoor atmosphere, a sentimental throwback to the Paradise Café!

A very laid back and delicious place to eat. Beautiful patio. Unfortunately, on the day we were there, a smoker trailer was stranded right beside the patio, so we moved inside to avoid the smell. Food was delicious and I was able to have an amazing gluten free salad. Service was chill but helpful.
Rishell O — Google review
We stopped in but nothing on the menu really spoke to us so we left without eating. But the servers were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The festive decorations inside were amazing and the patio, where we were seated, was very comfortable. I have no doubt the food will be excellent. We’ll find out when we return.

Service was sadly very slow/ inattentive. Food was delicious: cornbread, tri-tip, half chicken. The sweet potato appetizer was just ok. Love the atmosphere which depends on where you sit. #1 preference Ask to be seated on the patio near heat lamps. Avoid inside which is strangely too dark. And definitely avoid sitting near the restrooms (which is brightly lit) otherwise you get a constant flow of people traffic (and an eyesore).

Pearl Social Santa Barbara is a chic cocktail lounge in The Funk Zone, created by the Acme Hospitality team. It pays homage to Pearl Chase, a prominent civic leader in the city. The venue boasts an intimate and elegant ambiance with navy walls, lush wallpaper, brass sconces, and pink velvet chairs. Guests can enjoy table service or sit at the bar for a front-row view of the cocktail making process. The establishment is renowned for its charming aesthetic and lively music scene.
We held our wedding reception at Pearl Social and it was perfect! Our wedding was on the smaller side -- 55 people -- so we needed a space that was intimate. Pearl Social was literally perfect and we loved that there was a small outdoor space as well. The drinks were incredible and so many people commented on how good they were. Our friends rallied hard and the Pearl Social team was super accommodating to it. We worked with Megan to plan the event and she was extremely helpful in coordinating everything. Highly recommend holding any event here! Thank you Pearl Social team!

We were here for a wedding. The venue was beautiful although the venue next door had a love band and it was pretty loud. There were nice little areas to sit and chat away from the established dining tables and they had heaters to keep the outdoors areas from being Too chilly. It only had one bathroom for all but it was large, clean and well stocked. They tried too hard on the food. Some of it was just not edible. (The beef tasted like toothpaste.) Some was delicious. It was hit or miss. The staff were the most impressive thing about the place. Excellent customer service. We also had breakfast from this place the next morning. That was excellent.

I went for Christmas and it was so cute. I couldn’t get reservations online although I tried for a week. But, each time a table because available I missed it. So, the wait was 1 1/2 hrs! I kept thinking it wouldn’t be much long. Then once we got past a 45 mins I in too deep and wasn’t turning back. 😂 The drinks were good and I loved the Christmas decor. The appetizers were very limited but they were good. The popcorn of all things was delicious 😀
Monique T — Google review
This place thinks it’s way cooler than it is. Staff is knowledgeable but act like you came into see them, like they are celebrities, and not for the drinks. Service was slow, and the staff seemed to chat amongst themselves more than actually provide service. Drinks were hit and miss. Some were tasty, others were mediocre at best. There are other places nearby that serve better drinks and way better service than this place. Try shaker mill or test pilot instead.
Cowabunga I — Google review
Great vibes, terrible hospitality. The space is beautiful — perfect lighting, great music, and you almost forget you’re being treated like you wandered into someone’s living room uninvited. Our bartender bulldozed through our group like she was training for the Santa Barbara Marathon, loudly reminding us what a massive burden it was that we dared to, you know, order drinks at a bar. The cocktail list? Let’s just say “curated” is a polite way of saying “limited.” We spent plenty of money and stayed polite, but apparently that’s still an unforgivable offense. Plenty of other spots in town will happily take your cash without making you feel like you need to apologize for existing.

Butterfly Beach is a low-key and serene beach located along Channel Drive near the Ritz Carlton. It's easily accessible with ample parking, and during low tide, visitors can even walk to East Beach. The beach is also connected to a paved bike path that offers a scenic ride from the Wharf. With quiet benches and peaceful nooks among the rocks, it's an ideal spot for meditation or simply listening to the ocean.
Beautiful area, soft sandy beach, clean. Street parking can generally be found although you may have to walk a bit. You can also park near the Coast Village shops as their is a walkway under the freeway thru a nice neighborhood to the beach.
Erin K — Google review
One of my favorite beaches! I was bummed that it was a lot harder to get to the beach after all the storms we'd had. The stone stairs were down in two places and bolders and rocks are impeding the other stairs and ramps. Still, if you can get to the beach, this one has sand to walk on in a low tide. Butterfly Beach is a gorgeous place.
Sabrina M — Google review
My favorite beach to visit when I want to be alone or take my dogs in a quick walk. I have been going here since my childhood. There are a lot of quiet benches, nooks and crannies in between the rocks that offer some peace and quiet if you're looking go meditate or just listen to the ocean. There is of course a connection to the bike path near by too that will lead your to East Beach and eventually the Pier as well as the Bird Refuge. Butterfly Beach is also right in front of The Biltmore which has a beautiful bar and restaurant. Sometimes I will meet my parents for dinner at the Coral Casino too - they are members there. But the beach is lovely all it's own.

One of my favorite beaches I've ever been to. Went with friends on a random day and there were a handful of people there. Easy parking by the street and stairs down or if you're feeling adventurous take a small jump down from the wall. Nice to walk along on a sunny day and pass by the pebbles and old logs.

Beautiful long stretch of beach. Not as crowded and endless walking/running along the beach. Lots of open space to lay out your blanket and have a sense of privacy. Lots of street parking.

Really cosy and beautiful beach. Amazing for a stroll on through the sand. Not so crowded at all. At times the beach is quite small due to the tides.
Stef ( — Google review
One of the most iconic beaches in town. A long sandy strip (when the tide isn't high) with parking all the way along the street that can fill up quickly in the afternoons or on weekends. The historic Biltmore hotel lines the other side of the street making either direction you look pretty. A really great place to spend a beach day.

Lama Dog Tap Room + Bottle Shop in Santa Barbara, California, is a must-visit spot for craft beer enthusiasts. The place has a relaxed and friendly vibe. You might even spot a cute dog sitting under a table! I loved it here and wish we lived in the area to take full advantage what they have to offer. They have a cute outdoor area as well. They even have slushie drinks which I’m a huge fan of so when I saw this I was over excited. These icy concoctions are perfect for warm Santa Barbara days. Whether you’re a beer lover or prefer wine, the slushies add a fun twist to your visit. So, grab a seat, sip on a slushie or grab a beer, and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere! Lama Dog is amazing! The tap list is deep without being pretentious. Was lucky enough to stumble across Pliny the Elder on tap - an exceptionally influential IPA that is pure craft. Also got to try Urban Roots Demon Run imperial stout - amazingly charred chocolatey goodness. Must visit spot for craft beer enthusiasts. Staff knows their stuff, vibe is clean and laid-back, easily one of the best beer spots in California! This is where you go when you’re done pretending to like milkshake IPAs 😉

Lama dog is a great place to watch a game or grab a chill drink. We came to watch the hockey finals and were happy they had it on many tvs! The atmosphere is engaging and the staff are friendly. The bar is very clean, tables were literally cleaned minutes after guests left which was very impressive when busy. Good job Lama Dog. The food IMO, was just okay but really we were there to drink and watch hockey, not expecting much but it was not bad.

So good we came twice in a 3 day stay! The burgers and fries are super nice. Service is great and the atmosphere was really cool. They have sports games on the TV’s but it’s such a chill atmosphere. Bonus - you can play board games there and check out their many beers. Be careful ordering their hottest burger, it’s actually spicy and I love hot food 😉
Dickon P — Google review
Used to be my favorite place but they have horrendous service for people with disabilities . Their small cramped low bar for people with disabilities was covered with cleaning supplies, kid high chairs. And that’s not my problem yet. The problem was my guest being asked to move from the service area (which is right next to disability seating). We ended up leaving versus having a continued awkward exchange with the incompetent bar tender.
M S — Google review
Great beer selection, but pricey. Also, 4/5 green stars. Lama Dog had 18 beers on tap when I visited. I tried four of them – 4 oz. pours for $3 each. Note that this translates to $12 per pint, while a 4 oz. pour from Figueroa Mountain Brewing down the street is $2. Would be nice if it was a bit cheaper or if they had a flight deal for $10 or less. Here’s what I had: Island Hop Hefner (Hefeweizen from Carpenteria) – a decent hefe. M.Special Dozers Brown (American brown ale, Goleta) – very rich and tasty, perfect for a small pour. Boochcraft Ginger Lime Rosehips (San Diego) – great choice for a hot day, highly recommended. The Lost Abbey, Lost and Found (Dubbel with raisins, San Marcos) – also recommended. I also had truffle parmesan fries from the Nook. They were $7 but I had to admit that they were worth it, just not every day. Overall, staff members were very busy but fairly friendly. The alleyway has nice outdoor seating. Definitely worth a visit for their interesting beer selection which changes frequently. I’m also giving Lama Dog 4/5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: • Of the 18 beers on tap, 11 were from California, 3 from other states, and 4 from overseas. • Their walk-in cold room sounds like an energy-hog. Hope they get solar panels! • Of the beers I tried, I think Boochcraft stands out for social and environmental impact. What they make is actually alcoholic kombucha, and it’s made from locally-sourced, organic ingredients. They also donate 1% of proceeds to local charities related to sustainable food. • Overall, glad to have been introduced to a new sustainable brewery, Boochcraft, at Lama Dog. Find out more about the other green star thing at Green Stars Project dot org.

huge portions and friendly service big draws here. outside seating for Covid restrictions. seated quickly but unfortunately overlooking the driveway/parking area. chose not to spend the high $ for the famous blood orange margarita. fresh chips with two different salsas brought right away-very good. server was great when peppered with questions and requests. my wife has a physical issue eating peppers but loves fajitas and the kitchen accommodated her without issue. the meat (skirt steak?) & onions were plentiful, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. so much that even between us we couldn't finish. i was able upon request to sub beef/chicken/vegetables with grilled shrimp in the burrito i chose for my entree. filled with rancher(bean)salsa, rice, sour cream, and guacamole. it was huge and very tasty, but the shrimp showed no sign of being grilled. fresh and sweet tasting but possibly not grilled. enjoyed the experience and the food. would try again no problem.

Traveled up to Montecito with the intention to have a nice birthday dinner with my girl friends.. great atmosphere, menu looked amazing and good reviews.. 20 minutes and no waitress, so we asked another one passing if she could help us. She said she would find out who our waiter was. It was a Friday night and it was busy in there so we decided not to make a fuss. My friend and I ordered the shrimp tacos which sounded and looked amazing. Shrimp was very salty and did not taste fresh. Then my friend asked for her fajitas to go and we watched the waitress collect and stack all of the dirty plates on top of her fajita plate that was to be boxed up.. it was odd. Would go back and give it a second try though! Hopefully next time will be better.

Paradise Springs Winery is a bi-coastal winery located in downtown Santa Barbara, California. This impressive winery produces award-winning wines from coast to coast, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Bordeaux varietals. The charming tasting room is popular with wine lovers of all levels of expertise.
I recently visited this wine tasting room and had a fantastic experience. The place was clean and tidy, creating a pleasant environment for enjoying wine. The staff were great and very knowledgeable, making our visit even more enjoyable. During our visit, they had a bingo night going on, and the prize for winning was a bottle of champagne, which added a fun and unique twist to the evening. Their wines are really good, and they also offer delicious appetizers like a baguette. Overall, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend this wine tasting room for a fun and enjoyable evening.

One of the most shockingly rude customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve never felt the need to leave a negative review until now — but my experience with the manager, Stephen Goularte, was so appalling that I couldn't stay silent. Last Tuesday (6/10/25), I was planning a bachelorette weekend in Santa Barbara and called Paradise Springs to inquire about a reservation for 11 people. Stephen told me it would be $39 per person and asked me to email him to get the process started. I explained clearly that it would take me about a week to confirm the minimum price per person with my group and that once I did confirm it, I would call him directly with my credit card information as I wasn’t comfortable sending it by email. Two days ago, he emailed me a credit card authorization form, and I reiterated via email that I was not comfortable providing my credit card information over email but that I would call on Monday (6/16/25) with my card details. He acknowledged that this was fine but made it clear that I must fill out the credit card authorization form but that I could leave the credit card information blank. When I followed up by phone today (6/16/25) — less than a week after our initial call, exactly as I said I would — I was not at all prepared for the level of hostility I encountered. Stephen answered the phone already in attack mode. He immediately lit into me with an aggressive, demeaning tirade about how I hadn’t signed the authorization form yet. I tried to calmly explain that I couldn’t access the form on my work computer at the moment and that I’d complete it later today or tonight — but this didn't seem to quell his anger over my apparent slowness to sign this authorization form. He kept interrupting and speaking to me with such unnecessary condescension and fury that I was genuinely stunned. He was erratic, talking extremely fast, scolding me as though I had broken some major rule, even accusing me of dragging my feet — despite the fact that he knew I needed a few days. Even after all of that, I still tried to continue the reservation and offered to give him my card. At this point, I still felt like Paradise Springs was worth ignoring his hostility as they have a DJ on Saturdays, which would have been a great time for me and my friends. Before I provided my credit card information, I asked a very normal, polite question to reconfirm that it was $39 per person. This set him off again — he snapped, “It’s in the form — if you actually read it, you’d know!” and launched right back into another rant. I tried asking a second question about the cancellation policy, and again, he jumped down my throat, practically yelling at me that I should have read the form before even daring to speak with him. Stephen’s tone throughout the entire conversation was downright hostile, aggressive, and mean. Not once did he speak to me like a customer — let alone a person. He was completely unprofessional and unhinged, and frankly, it felt like he was looking for a reason to explode. I was just trying to finalize a reservation for a special occasion, and instead, I was berated like a child and treated like an inconvenience. When the call still didn’t end after I gave him my card — and he launched into a third aggressive tirade — I finally reached my limit. I told him to cancel the reservation on the spot and hung up. I’ve never experienced anything like this, especially not from someone in hospitality. I was left shaken, frustrated, and shocked. A winery should make you feel welcome and excited about your visit — not stressed and verbally attacked. He was combative, erratic, and downright mean. His behavior was so extreme that I honestly questioned whether something more serious was going on. If this is how Paradise Springs treats people trying to give them business, I can't imagine what an in-person experience would be like. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that actually values its guests — this place clearly does not.

Good wines. Terrible service. As a local I had been there prior and had a lovely experience. But whatever was happening tonight with the kid that was supposed to do his job; well he was either too busy on his phone, or looking at himself in the mirror, or trying (uncomfortably) to flirt with other guests. Service goes a long way when all you have to do is be cordial when opening a bottle of wine. And tonight this place failed.

Very interesting vibe/atmosphere in this place. It felt more like a brewery than a winery. Lots of people yelling/watching TV which was off putting. One of the male staff seemed intoxicated and were yelling and watching TV. The wine tasting and cheese board were great, but the atmosphere was terrible. Maybe just the wrong night to visit seems like a cute place maybe in a normal day.

Paradise Spring Winery was my very first stop in Santa Barbara and in California in general. The place surprised me with a friendly people working there. It wasn’t crowded since it was pretty windy Sunday evening. I ordered red wine flights, and was surprised by getting well poured cups. I also was treated with an extra glass of wine that wasn’t included in the flight option I chose. I am picky to wine but I need to admit all the wines I’ve had were interesting in flavor and enjoyable to drink. I sat at the high chair table, but there’s also a comfortable couch by a fireplace. Very relaxing.

Brand new tasting room in the Funk Zone. Their main winery is in Virginia (so they offer a Virginia wine flight) but have opened up a California branch with winemaker Doug Margerum. Nice staff, cool space. Definitely worth a visit!

Went wine tasting and tried the mixed flight of reds and whites. Loved the vibe and the experience. Great location in the heart of Santa Barbara's Funk Zone. Great wine.

Jocelyn was epic. The place just went through a remodel and it is fabulous. The bottle service is intrinsic! Call ahead and they’ll prep for your great night!

I’m giving it two stars because the bartender who helped us out was great! However, one of the security guards just grabbed our drinks as we were talking and threw them away without saying anything. They were both halfway full and the space in the back was pretty empty, so I don’t understand why he would throw our drinks away which were clearly not finished.

Went in for happy hour, nelson did a great job with the remodel. Place looked great. Whole staff is amazing. Nelson is the second fastest bartender I’ve ever seen. Almost blew my mind. Definitely will be stopping in on the weekends to hangout.

If you're looking for a calm mellow night out, this is not the place for you, Indochine has been one of my favorite, if not my favorite nightclub on State street for the past decade, EVERY single time I've come here(it's been ALOT) has been unforgettable, this place not only has the best staff, best drinks and best music, they have the best dance floor, don't believe me? Pass by the big window on a busy night. This place for sure passes the vibe check. Do yourself a favor and check it out. While your there make sure to say hi to the GM Nelson, seriously the friendliest, funniest dude you'll ever meet.
