Cocktail bar
Death & Co Los Angeles, a renowned cocktail bar originally from New York, has made its mark in the Arts District. The establishment offers a diverse menu of creative drinks and New American cuisine in a speakeasy-style setting. With accolades such as being ranked among North America's Top 50 Best Bars and winning the title of Best American Cocktail Bar, Death & Co is known for its exceptional offerings.
Amazing drinks. Dark and moody underground cocktail bar. Edwin was our bartender and he was excellent. He was very attentive, very knowledgeable and made his drinks were made well very quickly. We ordered a Yondu, Scarlet Eyes, Oaxaca Old Fashioned, and Vodka Dirty Martini. Would highly recommend! We did have a reservation.

This was one of the best experiences from start to finish and had everything you can think of in a bar. First off, I was running late and they messaged me and changed my reservation to accommodate me. The drinks and food? SPECTACULAR! Over 24 drinks to choose from and to celebrate my birthday, the Too Old to Die Young Drink was a MIKE TYSON PUNCH 👊🏼, Dessert: Cookies soaked in liquor was amazing and the staff were educated and polite with complementary birthday drinks. If you want an experience from the pros. Go here. They were awesome 😎

This chic, dimly lit bar gives speakeasy vibes with a lengthy cocktail menu and amazing food. The lamb burger is the best I have ever had. Raven and Mike always provide fantastic service and drink recommendations. Reservations are strongly recommended.
Winnie Y — Google review
One of the best bars in America. Slotting us in on a Friday early shift, the bars atmosphere is intimate, high end and accessible. Friendly staff walk more nervous customers through the phenomenally balanced menu in a way that helps without them feeling patronised. More experienced drinkers will find something for everyone, and a bar staff happy to experiment, challenge or rely on the classics. Tip hard - this is a modern marvel in mixology.
Ben M — Google review
Death & Co LA is hands down one of my favorite bars in the city. The cocktails are always creative, balanced, and beautifully presented, the mixologists here really know how to combine flavors you won’t find elsewhere. On this visit I tried the Kissaten Café, Hail to the Thief, Sun Dream, Morning Dove, Garnet Moon, and Flying Nimbus. Every single one stood out in its own way, and the seasonal rotation keeps the menu exciting. I also love how they organize the drinks by categories like Bright & Confident or Boozy & Honest, it makes picking something to match your mood really easy. The food is underrated too. The fried chicken is extra crispy with a sweet-spicy glaze that makes it addictive, and the fries with aioli are a perfect bar snack. We capped the night with crème brûlée, which was excellent. The vibe is dark, intimate, and modern with a true speakeasy feel, just be ready to use your phone light to read the menu. It gets packed on weekends, so definitely book a reservation instead of waiting in line. Pro tip: go earlier in the evening if you want to snag free street parking, otherwise you’ll most likely need to valet. Yes, drinks are on the pricier side ($20–$30+), but the quality, creativity, and atmosphere make it absolutely worth it. If you love cocktails, Death & Co is a must.

Death and Co. LA is THE date night location! Partner and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary there recently and not only was the ambiance amazing but the food and drinks were up to par. We started our night with an order of the Esquite and let me tell you..this is a great take on a childhood culture classic. We were left wanting more. We wanted to thank Chef Selenia for an amazing take on the esquite. She is such master at her craft. We also enjoyed a nice delicious crab toast and to top things off we ended the night with a sweet potato Brulee. Throughout our night our Bartender Edwin took care of us by making us delicious drinks that not only tasted amazing but paired well with our food choices. He deliberately explained the thought process behind his pairings which made the experience even more special. Can’t recommend this place enough. Cheers!
Darlene M — Google review
Amazing cocktails but the bartender was too busy talking to one person and not interested in any conversation with anyone else. She only acknowledged us when our drinks were empty but I had lots of questions about the cocktails and wanted to know more.
Alexzandra B — Google review
From NYC to LA - and still iconic. Speakeasy vibe, dimly lit, and stylish. There was a short wait but worth it. I had a specialty mezcal cocktail that was strong and spirit-forward (just how I like it 😏) and grabbed their house popcorn which was a fun little snack (super simple and not flavorful but a good portion size)! Perfect spot for cocktail lovers who want something elevated but chill. 🥃

Cocktail bar
Thunderbolt, located in LA, offers a unique blend of old-school snacks and craft cocktails from the Park's Finest group. The bar not only serves excellent bar bites created by the team at Park's Finest but also boasts an impressive cocktail menu. With a focus on fruit and Southern flavors, Thunderbolt features a wide selection of Madeira and inventive concoctions like the Tropipop, a clarified take on a pina colada.
Incredible ! After many recommendations, stopped here during a very long road trip from Toronto. We were greeted immediately, the non-alch program was inclusive and the bartender (Wes) was very lovely, super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the non-alch spirits he had us try. I’m very glad this place was recommended to us because it had been the highlight of hospitality in our journey so far. We had the deep fried pickles , a non-alch lychee daiquiri and the pride of oxnard (a lovely carbonated and canned cocktail ). Thanks guys !

This is an unassuming place where you could easily walk past and mistake it for a casual pub, but inside the drinks would be in the top percentile of cocktail bars in the world over. There is cutting edge science and mixology in their prep before they open their doors that enables them to serve super sophisticated combinations of flavours readily when you order. The nuances of flavour can easily are supremely tricky to balance and they do it well. There are combos that are just fun, then there are the ones that make you think hard about what you're drinking with savoury ingredients like either mushroom or bittermelon for example, which I would wholeheartedly ask any discerning drinker to try. Staff are friendly, unpretentious and it's simply amazing how high the quality of drinks are hidden by this laid back packaging.

Ranked 24th among North America’s 50 best bars, Thunderbolt has launched a new cocktail menu whose cover resembles a nostalgic student notebook — filled with “academic” notes that mirror the team’s methodical approach to bartending. Their continued pursuit of technical precision has led not only to more efficient use of water and ingredients but also earned them this year’s Sustainability Award. Below is an overview of the menu highlights and key insights gathered from my conversation with bartender Wes: Temperature Control All stirred cocktails are now pre-batched and stored at –8°C. Since precise chill is the defining feature of stirred drinks, this temperature control minimizes the need for ice, improving both speed and consistency of service. The dilution that would normally come from melted ice is now replaced with more flavorful ingredients. (Examples: P4 Barcelonnette; P5 Loverboy) Canning All highball-style long drinks are pre-carbonated and canned in advance. This ensures a sharper, more powerful fizz than store-bought soda water while also improving speed and enabling takeaway service — much like selling craft beer by the can. (Examples: P1 Hops Don’t Lie; P6 Echo Park Trash Can; P7 Tropipop) Foaming For sour-style cocktails, the team uses methylcellulose, a plant-based foaming agent, to replace egg whites. This avoids any off-flavors or unwanted dilution. The foaming agent is pre-mixed into the cocktail base; before serving, the bartender simply foams it briefly with a blender following a set procedure — eliminating the need for dry and wet shakes. (Example: P4 Barcelonnette) Clarification Milk washing is avoided unless absolutely necessary. Instead, centrifugation is used to clarify drinks while preserving their texture and layers. When milk washing is applied, coconut milk is used to minimize the impact of whey proteins and water on flavor. When using coconut milk, polyphenol-rich ingredients like tea are added to accelerate the clarification process. (Example: P2 Pastelito) Juice Shake A technique invented by Dave Arnold, this method uses frozen juice instead of ice for shaking. The result is a more concentrated, intense flavor without extra dilution. (Example: P3 La Frutera) Through these innovations, Thunderbolt showcases how scientific precision and craftsmanship can coexist — redefining the boundaries of modern bartending while staying grounded in sustainability and flavor integrity.

We went here after a small area search for celiac safe places for our daughter to eat. When we arrived and she saw the menu she was so excited to be able to order without all the questions and concerns! The food was amazing! She had French fries and chicken wings. The waitress did an amazing job at accommodating her food to her young standards too! The staff surrounding were also very hospitable! At the end they surprised her with a delicious dessert, an apple pie tart! DELICIOUS! She left full in her tummy and at heart! Thank you for the amazing accommodations! Also we ordered a whiskey sour for mom and dad! 🤯⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing!!

Had to wait in line even though there were plenty of space when we finally went in. The drinks were great but the food was mehhh they were wayyy too salty The biscuit is gluten free and not like regular fluffy biscuit. It was very bready and not good. The chicken drummets were good but were a bit gamey.

We came the night the Dodgers won the 2025 World Series, so the energy was absolutely fantastic. The drinks, however, were not as amazing -- maybe it's because we were just limited to their Halloween menu. Given the high praise we've heard about Thunderbolt, I'd love to try their other selections the next time I'm in town.
Jaewon L — Google review
The food and beverages are all delicious and everyone who works here is so kind! The drinks are creative and really fun. Good for small and large groups. The patio is lovely, especially when it is warm out and inside is a great vibe.
Cassidy B — Google review
Thunderbolt has become a regular spot for me, whether I'm with out-of-state friends, local LA pals, or even my family. The cocktails are consistently on point, and the bartenders really know their stuff. I've always had a solid experience with the drinks here. However, the food can be a bit hit-or-miss. While the biscuits are delicious, some of the plates are ok, like the chicken wings or chicken sandwich, tend to be overcooked, making them tough to enjoy. Also, the service can be inconsistent. On my most recent visit, I had trouble reading the menu in the dim light. A kind bartender overheard me telling my partner of my struggle to read the menu and brought over a lamp to help, but then shortly after while still reading the menu the server with ribbons in her hair accused me of moving the lamp which needed to stay in its spot as it sits on a charger (which wasn't true). Having that happen in the middle of reading the menu was a bit hurtful and super disappointing because I was excited about reading the NEW menu. Despite these issues, I'll still go back for the amazing cocktails. Just hoping they can improve the food quality and ensure all the servers are on the same page with customer service.

Cocktail bar
Broken Shaker at Freehand Los Angeles is a rooftop bar located on the 14th floor of downtown's Freehand Hotel. The ambiance exudes a South Beach vibe with vintage touches and inventive cocktails. The rooftop is adorned with palm fronds, cactuses, and bulb lights, creating a sunny atmosphere that complements the drinks and bites offered. The cocktail menu features fruit-, coconut-, and herb-tinged concoctions, with popular options like Litty City and Vibe Check.
Randomly came accross this gem!! A rooftop bar, pool, healthy plants in large pots. A lovey ambiance amongst the chaos of downtown LA. Did not taste the food. Decent cold brew. Open during the day for a drink.

ROOFTOP WITH KILLER VIEW!! Food - 4 Service - 4 Ambiance - 5 Price-quality-ratio - 4.5 If you’re looking for a rooftop bar with a killer view of downtown LA, Broken Shaker is the spot. The vibe here is laid-back yet stylish, with colorful decor, twinkling lights, and a pool that adds to the atmosphere. Whether you come during the day to soak up the sun or at night to take in the city skyline, the setting is hard to beat. The drinks are solid—creative, refreshing, and well-balanced. Whether you’re into tropical cocktails or something with a little spice, there’s something on the menu for you. The presentation is also on point, with fresh herbs and unique garnishes that make each drink feel special. Food-wise, they have some great bites to go along with your drinks. The chips and salsa hit the spot, and there are a few other options worth trying if you’re feeling snacky. It’s not necessarily a full-on dining experience, but it definitely complements the drinks well. Overall, Broken Shaker is one of the best rooftop bars in LA for a relaxed yet fun night out. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, it’s worth checking out for the views alone—but the drinks and vibe will make you want to stay.

Made a reservation here to have a nice rooftop terrasse view of LA. Nice view, cool that can you can access the pool. However, drinks were overpriced but bland. Also I was not pleased and uncomfortable to see the way we were charged- a credit card being "held" by the waitress before ordering the drinks and then having the waitress tip themselves 18% without asking us how much we would like to tip... we only read this 18% tip rule AFTER being charged as it was written on the bill. Would have been nice to knke before ordering about this tip. Quite ridiculous.
Birhavi . — Google review
We wanted to eat at a place with a view of the city that had a laid-back, relaxed atmosphere. We sat at the bar since it was just thentwo of us. The bar tender was attentive and helpful. We ordered the curry shrimp skewers, the fish tacos, the chicken sandwich, and some fried plantains. Overall, the food was good. The tacos had a great flavor, and the chicken sandwich was delicious (the slaw is what makes it). However, for $18, you only get two tacos. The shrimp skewers were bland. They lacked more curry flavor or flavor at all. I asked the bartender if the plantains were green or ripe (tostone style, salty, or maduro, sweet). She said sweet, but they were actually green. And for $5, you only get three. Skip them. For drinks, we got one of their tequila cocktails and glass white wine. Overall, stick with the burger or chicken sandwich. A lot of people ordered the burger, and it looked good. Come here for the views and drinks, not so much the food. It's way overpriced, and it's hit or miss.

Had a cocktail on the patio on a warm day. Good quality and fairly priced - the patio get you away from the ‘street below.’ Very nice pool as well
Connor O — Google review
Better rooftop views, comfortable sitting. This rooftop bar has much better open and pretty views than other rooftops! It is located close to the clean and safe part of the downtown Los Angeles. It is also close to the major tall and beautiful commercial and apartment buildings, so the view is much better than other rooftops. The most important thing about this bar, it is that it has a lot of lounge chairs around the rooftop swimming pool and it is very comfortable to lay down after a meal. Even though the swimming pool is very small and not heated, but it is still pretty and soothing to look at it. The bar foods are rather ordinary and the price is average. However, they do charge the service fee and health fees, so your final bill will be 20 % more. After all, it is still better than other rooftops and I certainly will come back to this place again.

If you're looking for a sophisticated bar with a delicious cocktail list, then head to Apotheke LA. This hidden-away spot in Chinatown offers innovative cocktails made with natural ingredients and herbs, all designed to help you relax, energize and rejuvenate. In addition, the outdoor oasis is lush and beautiful - perfect for enjoying a drink in the warmer weather months.
Very cozy and high class bar. It has high quality and tasty cocktails. Also, I recommend you coming on a Sunday to the Sunday Sessions Vinyl DJ party.

This place serves seriously good (and cool) Cocktails 👍 The atmosphere is very cool, the resident DJ plays awesome Tunes 😎 The outside space is nice and relaxed, having lots of 'booths' to sit in 👍 The Cocktails they make are excellent, no cheap pre-mixed junk. All are made with expert skill and ingredients and they taste sublime. They are a bit on the pricey side, but well worth paying 😉 I'd recommend the 'Curios Lotus' cocktail, it's REALLY good 😎 Deffo worth a visit 👍😎

Came here on a Friday night around midnight. There was plenty of parking. We had a group of 8 and we were able to snag a table outside with our very own heat lamp (there were several all over the place). The bartenders here are all super cool and can give you recommendation if you don't know what to order, just tell them what you like. We all got various drinks and shared and I honestly enjoyed every single one! My favorite was probably the Battle of Santa Ana, but you can't go wrong with any of them. Atmosphere is really cool in here, its dark, theres music, but you can still talk to people. I would definitely come back here again!

Super cool bar tucked away in a mostly industrial neighborhood. The decor is exquisite, a lot of thought and design went into every corner of the space. The outdoor courtyard is a lovely place to hang out with drinks. Most of all, the cocktails are some of the best. We had a spiced mezcal drink (“Roma”) and that was one of my favorite mixed drink I’ve ever had.

The Roger Room is an eclectic bar adorned with vintage freak show pictures, offering a selection of trendy and upscale cocktails. The unofficial motto 'YES' can be found on coasters and even on the foam of your drink, reflecting the laid-back ethos of this high-minded cocktail bar owned by Jared Meisler and Sean MacPherson.
Excellent cocktails and vibe. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking a LA cocktail experience. Noah made exquisite drinks.

Casual vibes and fun cocktails in this bar out of a gangster movie from the 80's. Focused bu friendly bartenders, mixing and shaking with care but without pretention. The drinks don't reach the level of artistic mixology, but they are consistently good, easy to enjoy, and your best friends on a Friday night after work. Nice touches here and there like the meringue mountain or the cherry monkey.
Olivier C — Google review
I had high hopes for The Rogers Room but was honestly disappointed. I tried The Dame and the LC Gin & Tonic, and neither drink tasted right — both were unbalanced and lacked flavor. For a bar that’s supposed to be known for its cocktails, I expected a lot more. The vibe was decent, but the drinks just didn’t deliver. Definitely not worth the price. as a LA native. I would not recommend this restaurant
Ryan T — Google review
It's a Speakeasy! Specialty drinks with unique names and very tasty! The staff was excellent! Be prepared to enjoy luscious libations with designer Almonds. No food on the menu except Almonds and Olives. The drinks are fabulous and the atmosphere is dark, cozy, and intimate. Right next to Largo in Los Angeles. If you park down the block in the Beverly Center's parking lot, it's a lot less expensive than the lot next door.

Tiny bar with booths, seating at the bars, or outdoor seating. People smoke outside, which is a bit disturbing. Not sure they have the sign, so if you cannot stand the cigarette, maybe stay in. The noise is medium to loud since it's packed and small. The drinks are ok. It's a casual bar in Beverly Hills.

Amazing vibe to this speakeasy. Bar that gets crowded on a Tuesday night? Tells you how good it is. The bartenders here are amazing, and amazingly skilled for a bar that doesn’t advertise its bartending abilities. Lookout for Danny especially, he’ll put on a show for whoever you bring with you here and be sure to give you your money’s worth. Definitely a spot I’d revisit coming back to LA, or even this week.

Dark bar with a vast menu of drinks. Came here after EP&LP to get away from the scene-iness, and this was a very different environment. There’s indoor and outdoor seating (smoking allowed). There is one restroom stall available for women and it’s a pretty small space, but it also makes it easier to make bathroom friends. They even have absinthe here. There are waiters that come around to take orders. The vibe is more of a sit down space.

Everson Royce Bar is a stylish cocktail destination in the Arts District, featuring a backlit bar and comfortable banquette seating. The venue offers an elegant yet lively atmosphere, with a neon sign at the entrance setting the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Whether you choose to sit inside or on the expansive outdoor patio, you can indulge in some of Los Angeles' finest cocktails, crafted with inspiration from local flavors and seasonal produce.
Great patio for big groups. You don’t have to worry about splitting the bill! Every one can get their own tabs. The waiter/serving staff are always on the move making sure everyone is satisfied with their order or if they’re ready to order more. Great in the summer time. Great happy hour specials

Came here for a quick drink and got the Pineapple Daiquiri. Really enjoyed this rendition on the Daiquiri as it added a sweet acidity without being too much. We came here early in the day so not busy at all but would have loved to stay a bit longer. Nice bar on the inside and a patio on the back.

the burger and fries were fine but was a decent deal for the happy hour. the chipotle dip the fries came with was really good. also got the soundcloud celebrity happy hour drink and that was good.

Found this bar after trying to go to other spots in DTLA. I’m glad the other places didn’t work out because everything was great here. Drinks were amazing, the food was really good with multiple options for different diets. The ambiance was chill but lively. There’s also a large patio area that is perfect for large groups. And drinks were reasonably priced whether you get a classic or a frozen drink.

I went to this spot last night on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. The host, bartender and staff on the floor were kind and quick to assist. Blake was exceptional making suggestions on the menu and getting our food out quickly. I really enjoyed that you could customize your espresso martini.

I came here for drinks and ordered only 2. Drinks are still affordable. Their cocktails are a little too sweet for me, but they can make whatever you want. The reason for the 5 stars here is their integrity/honesty. I left a tip, but calculated the total completely wrong. Sent them an email letting them know to correct it and to my surprise, they did! 5 stars for that and I DEFINITELY will be coming back to this bar because I value honest business.

Tiki bar
Bar
Cocktail bar
Tiki-Ti is a small, iconic bar located between Silver Lake and Los Feliz that offers a nostalgic experience with its Hawaiian decor and tiki-themed ambiance. The bar serves up potent rum cocktails with unique traditions, such as the entire bar chanting for certain drinks or a robotic toy bull parading along the counter. The tropical drinks are known for their strength and come with quirky touches like long straws and flaming presentations.
This is the second oldest tiki bar in Los Angeles. It’s tiny place that’s covered floor to ceiling with amazing tiki decor. Great drinks! I had the Ray’s Mistake and the Oooga Booga. Get there early unless you want to wait in line.
Michael H — Google review
First time here, and we absolutely loved it. It was definitely worth waiting in line for, and this comes from someone who avoids lines like the plague! The atmosphere was super fun and the drinks were fantastic. They were definitely not watered down, so very reasonably priced. We're definitely looking forward to coming again.
Leonard M — Google review
Classic tiki bar with a great selection of delicious drinks and a unique atmosphere. The bartenders are generous with their pours, everything has a little extra rum. Service is excellent, but the location itself is very small so expect to wait 30 minutes to an hour to get inside.
Gavin — Google review
Tiki Ti is one of my favorite Tiki Bars. It's tiny, not a lot of room to sit or even stand. It's packed on the weekends from the moment it opens. Not sure how crowded it is on weekdays. Our drinks were properly strong. The recipes were traditional. Not too expensive considering what normal drinks cost now. The place is very cool. Doesn't seem to change. If you are in the area and you enjoy a Tiki, definitely check it out.
Michael R — Google review
An iconic must-visit tiki bar. Definitely get in line around opening because it’s a bit small, but everyone inside is absolutely joyful! Great drinks and an adorable spot.
Miranda R — Google review
No food. Bar only. Extremely limited seating so come early. Parking is a nightmare. Street only from what I could tell. Lucky you don't have to pay meters if you have a handicap placard in California. Amazing cocktails. This place is an institution. Order the Ooga Booga or the Toro. Decent selection of merch as well. This place is a must visit for any tiki fan. Uber here if you can.
Kristopher L — Google review
Classic LA Tiki bar! Tight little spot, so show up early. Drinks are pretty sweet, but there are several with less sugar. Three Dots and a Dash was good!
Alex — Google review
Ok it’s a tiki classic in LA. Made a special journey to visit. The drinks are great - nice flavors, well prepared with no drama. Didn’t love my bartender - maybe he was having a bad day? And didn’t like how the smell from bathrooms leaked into the bar. Will give it another chance but first impression? Not super

Capri Club is a trendy retro neighborhood bar that serves strong craft cocktails and Italian bar food bites. The atmosphere is top-notch, but it can get crowded even on weeknights, so getting a table might be a challenge. The interior has a retro style with limited seating, and it can get quite loud inside. They also offer sidewalk tables for outdoor seating. The menu includes small plates and pasta dishes, and the cocktails are highly recommended.
I like the location of this bar. They keep the exterior and inside of the bar clean. I like the friendly bar servers. I love the mural and the portrait drawings that you see around the walls. I enjoyed some delicious drink while we visited here before dinner reservation elsewhere. Definitely want to come back for the vegan lasagna.
B R — Google review
EDIT: I feel it’s necessary to disclose I feel the need to update my review every few months because I come here so often. This place is always busy, even on weeknights. It gets PACKED on weekends. That’s a testament to the beverages and service. Drinks menu rotates so there’s always something new and interesting to try. You can also always get a classic cocktail or frozen special, aside from their new craft offerings. A good selection of beer and wine are also served here. There is a regular food menu with larger portions from opening until about 9 or 10 pm when they switch to their late-night menu which consists of small plates to pick at. Theres plenty of heat lamps outside for when it’s cold so you can still sit comfortably during the winter. My favorite things to order for food are the Little Gem Caesar (Under a blanket of parm- best I’ve found in LA so far!), meatballs, tuna stuffed pepper, and tiramisu. Fernet lovers and Argentinians rejoice! They’ve got like ten different kinds here.

SO DELICIOUS. The food was all bomb. We legit ordered almost everything on the menu. Lovely vibes. Super crowded though especially weekends.
Tina C — Google review
Absolutely love the atmosphere at The Capri Club. It feels like you've stepped back in time into the perfect little Italian aperitivo bar. The retro decor with the red booths and wood paneling is spot on, creating a vibe that's both effortlessly cool and super inviting. The drinks are the real star here. You HAVE to try the frozen Negroni - it's a game-changer and lives up to all the hype. All the cocktails we tried were fantastic, perfectly balanced and showed real craftsmanship. What really made our visit special was the incredible team. A huge shoutout to Jose, Caitlin, and everyone else working – they were all so welcoming and made sure we had a great experience. Just a heads up – the place has a real buzz and gets packed, especially on weekends. They don't take reservations, so it's best to get there a bit early to snag a table either inside or on their patio. The energy is electric, though! Overall, Capri Club is a top-notch spot for a date night or catching up with a friend. Great drinks, amazing staff, and an unbeatable atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
Blaze D — Google review
Capri club is a great place for cocktails but not so much for food. They serve tapas style dishes that all sound great but some of the dishes lacked a lot of flavor. The tuna crudo was really good, the meatballs were okay. But the pasta balls and the polenta were extremely bland. They do make excellent cocktails though and the atmosphere is great. The place was packed both inside and outside. Will return for drinks but likely skip the food.
Sara M — Google review
Cool new cocktail bar. Inside has retro style. Only a few tables and booths. They fill up fast. It can get really loud inside too. There's also some tables on the sidewalk. They had nice holiday decorations when I went. Cocktails are tasty. They also have some small plates and pasta on the menu but I didn't get to try those. Service was good. Order at the bar. There's street parking but you might have to walk a block or two.
Jeff C — Google review
Great drinks. Fair prices. Fun atmosphere. It's all very cohesive and a nice place to hang out.
Jim M — Google review
This is a pretty cool hang out spot in Eagle Rock. The interior design is nice but fills up extremely fast on weekends (open seating so first come first serve). The food is a bit expensive for what you get but the pasta ball we got was tasty. The sour cherry spritz came with an olive as a garnish but wasn’t really my type of drink. Spritzes are $10 before 6pm!

Big Bar is a popular haunt in Los Feliz with an old-world charm, offering creative cocktails, top-shelf spirits, and elevated bar bites. It's known for its welcoming atmosphere akin to Cheers, and it also features a cafe, bakery, and one of the city's best patios. The bar team concocts house-made syrups and rotating drinks with a playful menu filled with puns and unique drink accessories.
Great bartender, excellent bloody mary, outstanding breakfast and lunch menu. Very good coffee and pastries. Lovely atmosphere, highly recommended. Thank you.

Wine was tasty. Unfortunately I don’t know if it was just our table but we waited 40minutes for someone to come after our drink order. At that point we went to the front and asked for our check. Leaving our table to ask for the check and seeing an empty patio is disheartening, as I can understand a delay service in a packed place. It’s clear the clientele they catered to, and it wasn’t on their list. Silver lake is definitely not for 1990s locals anymore.

Live music venue
The Varnish is a hidden gem located behind Cole's bar in downtown Los Angeles. This speakeasy offers custom cocktails crafted by skilled mixologists in a dark and moody setting. The ambiance is enhanced by live jazz performances on Sunday and Monday evenings, adding to the vintage charm of the place. Accessible only through Cole's French Dip, The Varnish boasts an intimate atmosphere with low lighting, cozy seating options, and a classic piano at its center.
This spot is great! Highly recommend as a great spot to have a date, catch up with a friend or even solo enjoy a delicious cocktail! I had two “bartenders choice” and was NOT disappointed. I can’t wait to go back here! Drinks average about 20 per. The only food they serve are nuts. If you want to eat you can go eat else where for a proper meal, perhaps Coles.

Wow! This is hands down my favorite craft cocktail lounge in LA. Every time I go on a vacation I am searching for a craft cocktail lounge and this one delivers and so much more. The ambience is 20’s speak easy. I heard they also do live jazz music. I can’t wait to see that some day!
Tricia E — Google review
The Speakeasy aspect is cool, hidden door and all, unfortunately that's about it. It's small and so is the drink list. Waiters brought drinks to the wrong table and took forever...the place was pretty empty. Drinks specials were pretty good. Went on a weekday so maybe better to visit on a weekend, but be prepared to wait, slim chance on a table, and forget being able to hear a conversation. Still...worth a visit for the historical location.
Marc — Google review
I've gone there two times and both I've had excellent cocktails, very balanced, rich, and super high quality. Don't be afraid to go for the "bartender's choice". They'll give you something delicious just let them know what you're in the mood for. The bartenders are very kind and attentful. Specially Roberto, he's one of the most amazing bartenders I've ever met, very attentive to detail, really good at mixing, and he has an amazing memory to remember people and has a great character (he said hi to us when he was walking by the taco truck where we were having late dinner). This is definitely a place for cocktail lovers, best place in LA I've found so far. Highlight of my LA trip 😄

We got there, walked to the door in the back of the restaurant, which looks a lot like a storage room door... Then we were greeted by a gentleman standing at the door, we decided to be standing by the bar, WOOOOW! The barista, what an incredible person, so friendly and a master in creating drinks! I asked for a French 75(was in the mood for a lemony drink) the way she prepared just blew my mind... it was one of the tastiest drink ever! Great place to listen to good Jazz as well, sometimes they have live jazz there! If you are in DTLA, don’t forget to check out this place!
Raphael M — Google review
This place was an absolute gem. I wouldn’t hesitate to take friends or a date here again for a great night out. We were greeted warmly by the bouncer and staff. The small bar was dark and intimate but the drinks were among the best we have had in LA. We ordered off menu and the bartenders made us some of the most refreshing and flavourful cocktails we have ever had. They also had live singing and piano whilst we were there. Loved this spot.
Sean — Google review
It’s a super neat place. The vibe and decor are just right for a jazz speakeasy. Drinks were lovely and the music was delightful. They have live music on Sunday to Wednesday after 9pm.
CeeCee P — Google review
I knew I was in the right place when the menu included “Bartenders choice.” It typically signals a place where bartenders take their craft seriously. And that’s true about Varnish. The server(who is also a bartender) asked my wife and I a few questions about drink preferences. He returned with two off-menu cocktails that we both loved. They were both well balanced and delicious. The space is dimly lit but not too dark. Hidden in the back of Cole’s it lives up to the speak easy spirit.

The Wolves is a glamorous cocktail bar located in Downtown with antique decor and 1910s accents, offering innovative cocktails and American fare. The ornate space is adorned with antique lamps, sconces, and art, while the stained glass arches from an old train station create a breathtaking ceiling. Following the lockdown, the venue has introduced a specialty cocktail program led by bartender Nathan McCullough, who takes a culinary approach to mixology.
An absolute must-visit in Downtown LA for cocktail lovers. 🍸✨ I have obsessively been coming to The Wolves whenever I’m in LA, and it never disappoints. The Agua Buena is hands-down the best cocktail I’ve ever had in my life. Their other cocktails are just as impressive… my friends always order different ones, and every drink has such unique, inventive flavor profiles that just work. The small bites are delicious too. Friendly staff and the setting… don’t even get me started! It’s stunning, atmospheric, and makes the whole experience feel extra special.

3.5 stars . Cool looking bar with a selection of unique cocktails. Many of the drinks did not appeal to me though. only had one drink and it was good, so I didn't get to call my own drink and see how good the mixologist was. Will return to give it a full review and try a few drinks.

Came right when they opened at 5 pm on a Sunday. I love the stained glass ceiling and the bar's overall decor and vibe. I ordered the Tigers Milk and Harbinger of Fun, which the bartender told me are the most popular drinks on the menu. I liked the latter more due to its strawberry and pistachio notes. The bartender (I think his name is either Jason or Kevin) was incredibly friendly, chatted with me a bit, and made the drinks quickly. Excellent service. Would love to come back and try the other cocktails, which may ultimately elevate my rating. Drinks: 4 Service: 5 Ambiance/space: 4.5

Dante Beverly Hills is a popular rooftop restaurant and cocktail bar located on the ninth floor of the Maybourne Hotel. Known for its ritzy ambiance and stunning views of the Hollywood Hills, it offers a coastal Italian cuisine that has received mixed reviews. However, their signature fluffy orange juice Garibaldi and award-winning drinks have garnered praise. Reservations are highly recommended as this spot tends to get fully booked, especially on weekends.
I enjoyed a nice lunch at Dante’s. It is a rooftop restaurant located inside the Maybourne Hotel. Just take the elevator to the top. The atmosphere was pretty nice and the staff friendly. I would recommend making a reservation. The crowd was pretty diverse although it seemed like they do attract hipsters (if they still call it that). I definitely people watched and was not bored. We got seated right away and luckily got the table we wanted. Something on the balcony side with a decent view of the city. The food was appetizing but my favorite was this shot they had us try. It was the right amount of sweet. The drinks were decent as well. I enjoyed the Tiramisu a lot. Their bathrooms were nice and clean although it was a bit of a walk to the back. Yes lazy me. lol All in all I enjoyed my lunch at Dante’s and would recommend it.

We were lucky enough to get a balcony table for two just in time for sunset, and the view paired with the ambiance was perfect. The atmosphere felt vibrant yet relaxed—great spot for a casual evening or a special occasion. We ordered a few drinks for the table and they did not disappoint. The pesto pasta was definitely the highlight of the meal—rich, fresh, and so satisfying. The pizza was good too with a nice crisp crust.

Dante might be my favorite restaurant in Beverly Hills. It’s elegant, romantic and cozy, without being pretentious. It has breathtaking views and some of the best cocktails in town. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and made us feel truly taken care of. We started with the burrata, yellowfin tuna crudo, and mare misto—all were amazingly delicious. For mains, we tried the margarita and fungi pizzas, along with the fazzoletti and bucatini al pomodoro pastas. Everything was wonderful, but the pizzas in particular were my favorite. This place hits every mark for a memorable night out. I’ll definitely be back soon and look forward to checking out their happy hour specials soon!

My friend and I came by on a Sunday for their happy hour. The restaurant is on the rooftop by the hotel pool, we had a good view from our seat. The happy hour drinks were smaller than regular drinks but costs $10 each! Which is a great deal in today's economy! The server was very attentive and was able to help us with our order, and the drinks we ordered were all on point! My friend and I truly enjoyed it and will definitely come back!
Rui L — Google review
Drinks 10/10. Definitely recommend balcony seating at sunset for beautiful views. Staff are all professional and bubbly - especially Camille! We had a cute table tucked away in the corner but she did not forget about us! Food did not blow away but the drinks, the service, the view, and the vibe all make up for it.
Natan B — Google review
Located on the 9th floor of the Maybourne Beverly Hills, Dante offers sweeping views of Beverly Hills and Hollywood Hills. The space is beautifully designed with royal blue plush velvet booths, white marble surface and an elegant Mediterranean inspired fresco by Abel Macias. The menu here leans coastal Italian with wood-fired pizzas, pasts and seafood, and we found the food to be perfectly cooked, hot and flavorful. Favorites include the vongole and Bolognese. Great for people watching and a slow dining, Dante is a discrete and high-glam hotspot tucked away in one Beverly Hill's most luxurious hotel. Reservations are strongly recommended but walk-ins are available. An excellent place to rest after a busy day of shopping!

Mirate is a Mexican hideaway that offers a unique weekend brunch experience, featuring a menu curated by chefs Josh Gil and Ronnie Munoz. The restaurant, which opened in November 2022 in Los Feliz, presents Alta California cuisine in a stunning multi-level space adorned with murals by artist Jorge Telleache. The menu includes flavorful dishes such as aguachile tatemado and fried chicken tacos, as well as sweet treats like French toast dipped in bay leaf horchata.
Treated myself to a great Saturday brunch and cocktail! Expansive, multilevel, gorgeous indoor/outdoor courtyard space built around an actual live tree. Top notch Mexican food and drinks. My El Chula sparkling wine and strawberry cocktail also had sour notes from tepache, a fermented, pineapple liquor, plus two spiced aperitifs, Xila and Granada Vallet. Complex but tasty! My chilaquiles in red salsa with avocado and queso fresco was delicious. Super friendly (even singing) staff and great Latin American music.

One of the top LA bars at the moment. Actually, they’ve been ranked among the best in North America and just recently ranked one of the best in the world. Unbelievable ambiance & environment. You don’t even feel like you’re in LA, but in an exotic location. I’m an avid cocktail fan and I’ve never seen a Mezcal selection even half as vast as they have at Mirate. The cocktails are on point and the staff super friendly. The brunch menu was glorious and the combination of drinks & bites our waitress Emma guided us through was top notch. Cannot believe they’ve been here for 3 years and this is my first time visiting Mirate. Cannot wait to go back.

I came here for brunch and had such a wonderful experience. The cocktails here are something special. I got the mi sancho and the coconut margarita, they were both some of the best cocktails i've ever had! We started with the salsa, it was super fresh and addicting. Next they brought out the fried chicken tacos, which were my favorite food item, they were insanely delicious and i'm so glad we ordered them! The queso was another delicious dish. We also got the yucca y plantains, it was a very unique and flavorful dish, yum. The last thing we got was the mollete, the guac was fresh and the sourdough had such a great tangy flavor. I loved every single thing we ordered and would definitely come back. The actual restaurant was also so cool i loved the open air atmosphere and tropical vibe! The service was great too. Love this place!

Came here for brunch and the food was phenomenal. I tried the Croque Senora and Mollete. Both were delicious and were plated beautifully. I didn't get a chance to try their drinks but they do have an extensive cocktails, mocktails, and spirits menu. I also really liked the decor and ambiance of the whole place. It has 2 floors and is open-aired so the whole place feels very breezy and inviting. Definitely a good brunch spot to impress your friends or date.

I had dinner here last night and it was pretty good. The restaurant space itself is quite unique and doesn’t feel like a typical LA restaurant. It’s a rather large restaurant, spanning two stories and feels like a little escape from the city. The food was very good, especially the rainbow carrots and kanpachi Aguachile. I would order those two items again. The guacamole also tasted great but the portion for the price with a little bit on the small side. The mezcal flight was fun to try too ! My only criticism would be that I thought it was just a pricey. The service was solid, no complaints.

Mírate – Los Angeles, CA On my daughter’s recommendation, we visited Mírate to celebrate her 29th birthday — and what a delightful surprise it was! The restaurant immediately reminded me of Cuina in Roma Norte, Mexico City, especially with its beautiful tree centerpiece that brings life into the dining space. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and vibrant, setting the stage for an excellent evening. The service was outstanding — attentive without being intrusive, and every staff member made us feel welcome. For our meal, I ordered the Taco El Cochito: roasted pork, honey-filled truffle, salsa cerda cruda, and chicharrón crumbs on a perfectly made corn tortilla. My wife had the Taco El Gobernador, featuring shrimp, poblano peppers, quesillo and Chihuahua cheese, with pickled onions on a corn tortilla. She’s usually quite particular about her food, but she loved it — and so did I! As a Tequila and Mezcal enthusiast, I was impressed by their premium selection. They even offered Pulque, which I hadn’t enjoyed since my visit to Oaxaca de Juárez. One sip brought me right back to Mexico — I felt at home. Final thoughts: Mírate offers a fantastic blend of authentic flavors, a great atmosphere, and attentive service. It’s a wonderful spot for special occasions or simply indulging in some of Mexico’s finest culinary traditions.

Worth the hype!!! Beautiful decor, plating, and dishware. The cocktails were simply excellent, the portions were generous (especially the cochinita pibil, glad we had a good group to share), and all the flavors and textures were interesting and delicious!! Great place to bring a larger group, date night, or to impress out-of-towners with some inventive and elevated Mexican food.

Melrose Umbrella Co. is a unique lounge with a Prohibition-era theme, offering a variety of well-crafted cocktails in a cozy setting adorned with umbrellas. Since 2013, this dimly lit watering hole on Melrose Avenue has been a popular fixture in L.A.'s bar scene, serving reasonably priced cocktails categorized into different sections. The establishment also offers distinctive house takes on the Old Fashioned and features a drinkable scorpion bowl for group outings.
We had a blast! It was a bit of after party of my husband’s birthday and we got here to get a few drinks and snacks. First of all, how cool is the interior!! It kinda had a gothic vibe and everything looked sophisticated yet very welcoming thanks to the bartenders making the best drinks ever and making you feel good about coming to the bar. I also loved the fact they had such good mocktail selection and it was very much elevated cocktail experience (not those sugary drinks with basic soda ingredients but actually very good rich in flavors items - I had nonalcoholic Negroni and it was phenomenal) Additionally, I think for the bar food it was pretty good! Normally you wouldn’t expect much from the bar but here it was actually tasty. Well done team! Thank you again - we had the best time 🔥

Atmosphere 6/10 Very high ceilings and a rather cozy interior design. Great for a group of friends. Some interesting medieval design elements, including the backbar. Drinks 6/10 Recommendation: - Tried 3 drinks and all were rather basic in terms of taste and presentation. Minus points for the QR code-only menu. The glassware is very basic, almost cheap. The coasters have a cool design though. Service 4/10 No service to report. Water was served upon request. The staff was not very friendly. Prices are average for LA.

Great service! Really recommend. We had no reservation on a Friday night and the staff was impeccable and got us a table for to with almost no wait time. Perfect atmosphere for a small group of friends or for a date night. They serve a good expresso martini!

Nice location, very open, easy-paced environment. Food and drinks were great! Majority of us ordered burgers with a variation of sweet potatoes, tater tots, and regular fries. Seating is faily good, there are a mix of booths and tables (the table are a little small, just fits two, so just be mindful if you're coming in with a bigger group). Staff was super friendly and helpful, they day we came in it wasn't really busy and it was just one guy at the bar. All-in-all, you should stop by for some grub and good vibes!

I had another incredible birthday party at Melrose Umbrella Company and can’t thank the team enough! They reserved the entire back room for me and my friends, handed me the bubble guns (yes, bubble guns!), and made the whole night feel extra special. It was super easy to reserve, easy to order drinks, and the vibes were immaculate from start to finish. We had the space from 8pm all the way until close, and the staff was so warm and welcoming throughout. Thank you for making this birthday girl feel truly celebrated….already looking forward to the next one! 🥂🎉🫧

The drinks here are phenomenal, a nice cool spot, where you can chit chat with others, or meet some new people (if you sit on the bar top).

We did not get there before the kitchen closed at 11 but the drinks were awesome and the decor was 10/10 for the season. Drink menu was limited but I’m sure they could make most anything you want.

Very cute place, limited menu but what they have works. I tried the backyard burger, was very delish although the “special sauce” didn’t seem over the top, I was expecting a big bang. The waitress was absolutely amazing, she had the whole back section to herself but she kept a great attitude the whole time.

Harvard & Stone is a popular and lively bar in Thai Town, known for its vintage, WWII-era ambiance and inventive cocktails. The bar features classic drinks at the front bar and new creations at the R&D Bar in the back. With its two stories and multiple lounge areas, there's plenty of space to enjoy live performances that range from rock, blues, country, folk, rockabilly to indie music. Additionally, guests can experience a regular burlesque show backed by a live band.
Amazing Venu Staff at the bar super nice gentleman who took my order was perfect he definitely deserved that $30 tip. I can't wait to revist this establishment

Saw The Warlocks here. Bouncers are friendly, bartenders are fast and jovial, crowd was packed and respectful, overall a great club to see live music. Cash only bar-- bring your credit or debit card!! Very cool atmosphere.

Super amazing venue for concerts and clubing! Looks like a infustrial inerior design or some kind of old mine separated in main room with guge bar in the ceneter and with the stage and couple smaller rooms! One of them is isolated with small cozy bar! There is also small patio where you can smoke cigaretes! Love the venue, love ambient, love athmosphere!
Nemanja Z — Google review
It's an interesting bar. It was a little bit dead when we got there. My friend wanted to celebrate her birthday. They have live music on some nights at a burlesque show. The drinks were good and a little pricey. I'd go back on a night when they were having live music in the show.

Did not eat food so gave that a 3 star but service and atmosphere are at an all time low thanks to the bartender. Not multiple bartenders but just one who is a terrible people person. He needs to go immediately.

Harvard and Stone is one of the Houston Brothers less speakeasy-esque but no less fun bars. A nice roundabout bar that can wait on multiple persons at a time, a stage for live music and shows, many hidden nooks to either enjoy a drink in solitude or where a performer can strut their stuff. Plus, if one feels Daring enough, there is even a place that can perform flash tattoos. An all around great bar in the heart of Thai Town.

We had a great evening. Amazing music, staff is amazing. Back Patio. All we need.

it's a good place to change vibe and listen to some live country music or hip-hop. I have been coming to this place once in a while to chill, but when they put someone racist with attitude on the bar...it makes you think who owns or manage it! After 15 min waiting and showing my card on bar, finally come and when I want a light beer on glass he said said we don't have it and you have attitude! I don't give it... He was lucky I controlled myself!!!

Bar Flores is a vibrant and nostalgic cantina-style bar located above Low Boy in Echo Park. With a throwback vibe and a patio overlooking Sunset Ave, it offers a unique and delightful experience. The strong and delicious drinks, including the award-worthy sangria, make for an excellent visit. The atmosphere is filled with energetic people, vibrant colors, and delightful aromas that transport you to a different world. Owned by Karla Flores-Mercado, this bar provides an escape from reality.
Just stopped in solo for a couple cocktails and they were so so tasty, well balanced, and unique. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Also their Sauvignon Blanc was fresh and light. Too bad I forgot to ask the winery!

It was a very small place for a happening spot. Drinks are expensive but really cute. Definitely a stylish place to be. Upstairs bar and an outside patio with a few chairs and tables. Go with big groups. But the wait maybe long. It’s great because summer is almost here and ready for the crowds.

Stopped by here before a Dodgers game. Found seating quickly. Unfortunately, they were not serving food until 5pm because of being short-staffed. Ordered a Paloma pitcher (Mezcal) that was pretty good. The atmosphere was great with music. Would consider stopping by again.

The Flores Cocktail is delicious, with a little kick. This is a casual place on the second floor with huge open windows, a relaxed vibe and cute patio.

Flores is a fun spot. The bar prices are a bit steep, but the crowd totally makes up for it. Even when the music is just so-so, the vibe stays great. I usually end up here a couple of times a month and always have a good time. Definitely a solid place to hang out
Anton I — Google review
The bar on the inside is tight and cozy. Easy to miss on the outside, this bar gives speak easy vibes as the space inside is limited and feels like it was once a home. The drinks were priced on the higher end but they are stronger than your average drink. The food was tasty and a perfect match for their style of drinks. Though on the pricey side, I will think about this bar whenever I’m on this side of LA.

Bowling alley
Lounge
The Spare Room is an elegant and vintage cocktail lounge and game parlor located in the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel. It offers a one-of-a-kind experience with its beautifully restored 1920s bowling alley, polished wood lanes, and classic games like Battleship, Jenga, and Scrabble. The spot exudes an Old Hollywood vibe that transports visitors back in time while also offering modern flair through its fun cocktail menu.
One of my new favorite spots in LA, especially in the area. HIGHLY recommend getting a reservation for a bowling lane if/when you go. There are only two lanes and we were lucky that there was a no-show when we went, so we were able to snag the open lane for the remaining 45 mins of the missed reservation. The lanes have an attendant and scorekeeper that manually keeps track on the chalkboard too, which is a unique twist to keep the old school vibes
Pasha H — Google review
Now this is the kind of place where it’s a blend of rocking and silent evening. Superb place. Superb staff. Every staff was humble and really knowledgeable. Liked the way the place has a old touch yet modern vibes. Will visit again. If you are in LA then it’s a must visit. Only FEEDBACK or my dissatisfaction would be the website does not have any SSL and the booking through the website redirects to emails. While booking there goes a lot of email exchange back and forth and then I have to share my card number on email. Which I think is not safe. Such a great place should have a good website and you can block reservations through card using the website and should show the slots available.

This is by far one of my favorite new bars. My bartender was Yael and she was amazing. The drinks she made were really tasty and she is very creative. She made us a bowl for our party with rum and passionfruit and was delicious and loaded. Highly recommended and ask for this famous bartender, she will hook you up!!! We will be back soon for more yummy drinks and good mix of old school hip hop and classics.

Got four drinks here and they automatically added a 20% tip. I hate tips being added automatically. Defeats the whole purpose of tipping. I’m sure this is nothing for most people but it really rubbed me the wrong way. Won’t ever go here again.

One of The Best Craft Cocktail Joints in LA. Somewhat hidden in the historic Roosevelt Hotel is a brilliant bar that has a vintage bowling alley. The mixologists there are excellent and the leggy wait staff are gorgeous. It's best to get there early. 1) So you can get a decent seat. 2) Before they turn up the music to an obnoxious level. Having said that, you'll be hard pressed to get a better drink in the city of the angels.
Michael K — Google review
Awesome place to get specialty drinks and bowl late night. We found it easily in the Roosevelt Hotel and had a great server that helped us get drinks and set up bowling. There are a lot of board games to play as well there, so paying the $100 to bowl for an hour isn't necessary. They had live music the first time I went here, and it was fantastic.
Connor M — Google review
BIG NOTE: You cannot just use the bowling alley in here, you have to reserve it ahead of time AND it is 21 and over only. The wait staff are fantastic, 9/10. The music they play is okay, but not only is it loud, it is BLASTING. They turned it up at one point, so it got even worse. I'd asked them to lower it, because my friend was visiting from very far away, and we wanted to hang out, drink, and chat. They did not lower it. We had to scream at each other while sitting directly beside one another. If you get lost, let me guide you, because it can be hard to find. The easiest way to get there from the valet area, is to go under the stairs with water near it (pictured here). Go straight down the hallway about 15 feet, until you see elevators on your left. Take the elevator up to the "M" floor. Turn right as you exit the elevators, and it is immediately on your right up a couple of tiny stairs.

I went to the Spare Room in the Roosevelt Hotel on OSCAR Night, for an After OSCAR Awards Party, for the very First time in my life. I wondered Why, the Spare Room was called the Spare room. When I think of spare rooms in a house, I think of a room that is hardly used, and is often used for a catch all place to put things out of the way. I can Tell everyone, and many of You I'm sure knew it long before I figured it out. A Spare is also a Bowling term. Therefore, in the case of the Roosevelt Hotel, The Spare Room is a Bowling lane. On OSCAR Night, it was a good Meet and Greet Place, along with a mature Party atmosphere. Kind of reminded me of the 1970's, which very few places and events can remind me of. Why, did I go to this particular party, on OSCAR night, and why did I like this Venue, right across from where the OSCARS Were held? The Number One (1) Reason I went to this, and no other After OSCAR event celebration, was to meet established professionals in the Entertainment Industry. Did I accomplish my goal of networking? If so, in what way? I arrived at the Spare Room early, and located only One (1) of Two (2) booth tables that were not reserved. As the night went on, more and more people came in some of which shared my table with me. As a result, I got to meet several people, some I got to know, a few provided me with thier Bussiness card. Additionally, I danced like I have not done since I was in High School, when I was in the 9th, and 10th grades. Like I said, it was kind of like being in the 1970's. The ladies there that night were friendly, while being classy. Noone turned me down for a dance. At times it was groups of strangers dancing together.

Accomplice Bar is a cozy and laid-back spot with a local feel, offering classic cocktails, beer, wine, and American bites. Located within Mar Vista's Little Fatty, it features an L-shaped bar with an ever-changing cocktail menu curated by beverage director Ramsey Musk. The bar offers daily happy hour specials and creatively incorporates lesser-known Asian ingredients into familiar cocktails. Guests can also enjoy Taiwanese soul food from the adjacent Little Fatty restaurant while sipping on their drinks.
Atmosphere 8.5/10 Located on a main street. Pretty unique concept with 2 main bars designed as the focus of the room, back-to-back to each other, in 2 basically separated rooms. Cool vibe, nice crowd. Backbar looks impressive. Drinks 7/10 Recommendation: - Creative menu with 12 different cocktails, representing 12 different personalities. Minus points for the QR-online-only menu. Glassware and coasters are very nice and feel upscale. However, the drinks did not taste great… the flavors felt a bit off. Relatively simple garnish. Service 7/10 Friendly and skilled bartender team. Water served immediately. Prices are slightly above average for LA.

This creative bar offers an Asian fusion menu that blends traditional Chinese dishes with American Chinese favorites. The food strikes a balance between authenticity and accessibility, leaning slightly toward the American palate. Dishes like the green scallion pancake and walnut shrimp represent this mix well. My personal favorite is the Chinese BBQ pork, made with pork shank — perfectly crispy on the outside and tender within. The XO fatty noodles are another standout, especially as a satisfying late-night pairing with drinks. The cocktail program is what originally drew me here. The menu is inspired by different neighborhoods across Los Angeles, each reflected in its flavor profile. For instance, Koreatown features a soju base, while Little Tokyo incorporates Japanese gin and sakura vermouth. Techniques are inventive as well — one cocktail is even aged in karas for a month, allowing the flavors to mellow and blend together seamlessly. Overall, this is a bar that combines creativity, cultural references, and technical precision, making it a memorable spot for both food and drink.

Such a fab local bar and eatery with delicious food and drink. We enjoyed the vegetarian options of the menu and were blown away with the delicate layered flavors that only a true chef can deliver. The vegan noodle dish was proper and the cucumber salad had excellent pickle action. Even the egg rolls had flavor. Shawna, the manager runs an excellent team. They work with great flow and everyone pitches in. Would highly recommend a reservation - we waited for about 30 minutes while nursing a couple of their specialty drinks. For those who prefer quiet restaurants- best to sit outside and to not go on the weekend.

We went on a Saturday fall night around 8pm. Free street parking after 8! The post office across the street had parking too but it’s $5/hr. We ordered the rosemary negroni and the strawberry Negroni since they were limited edition. They were both smooth and well balanced. You could definitely taste the spirit in the rosemary but it wasn’t abrasive. The strawberry one that came out of the fountain tasted like straight up juice. The description said it had champagne in it too but it wasn’t bubbly at all. They were served with the big cube of ice and a grapefruit rind for the strawberry one and. Rosemary sprig for the other. I’d try diff cocktail next time since I have to haha. We then ordered the veggie noodles. They were thinly rolled rice noodles that resembled rice cakes. That was a fun take on it. Less messy for dates. The greens served with them were not bitter at all. We asked for some chili oil and one of the servers brought it to us. I’d recommend for sure. Bad is open seating if you find a stool. The restaurant seemed to only take reservations.
Gwen D — Google review
Great food, great service. What’s not to like? Is it popular, and thus a bit crowded at times? Yes. Comes with the territory. We had the garlic noodles and dumpling appetizer. I enjoyed watching the bartender making about 30 different types of drinks while we sat at the bar. Whoa! Was that a mini flame thrower? Artfully scorched cocktail, coming right up. The best part of the night was how patient the serve were with all my questions (wow, what’s that? x 5, asking about beautiful drinks being made). Highly recommend this spot.

Quick to sell $25 drinks outside and start you at a 22% tip but just wait until you ask to use the restroom. Plenty of better options on the street. Tourist trap.

I have tried to channel my inner FoodTV judge but I continually fail to think of anything that this place does that is not amazing. I have tried their Orange Chicken, Squid Ink Bao, Wontons, Pork Belly, Sizzling Black Pepper Beef and several other dishes that escape new right now and non of it had been anything less than amazing. As for their bar service, Oh. My. God. So good that it is dangerous. While I think that the Junglebird is my favorite, I have not had a single drink that could not be described as "expertly crafted". In short, I love Accomplice Bar and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Musso & Frank Grill, Hollywood's oldest eatery, has been serving classic American fare and martinis to diners in its iconic red booths since 1919. The restaurant's ambiance is steeped in history, with large dining rooms adorned with Hollywood memorabilia, worn leather booths, forest murals, and hanging lamps. Legends abound at Musso & Frank Grill; it was a favorite spot for screen legends like Charlie Chaplin, Greta Garbo, and Marilyn Monroe.
I had dinner here with my family and was absolutely mesmerized by the whole experience. Everything felt so classic—from the timeless setup to the elegant uniforms of the staff. The menu offered a wide variety of options. We ordered the New York steak, chicken parmigiana, and two pasta dishes. The steak was incredibly tender, and the pasta with lamb ragù was outstanding. Despite the restaurant being fully packed, the service was impeccable. The staff were attentive and professional—truly top-notch. An amazing dinner experience all around!

Musso & Frank Musso & Frank is an institution and it really feels like it as well. The restaurant is steeped in Hollywood history and has featured in so many films. The host was really sweet when I told him I was visiting from Australia and excited to experience the iconic restaurant. The service is proper old school, waiters in jackets, white table clothes, the whole thing. It’s extraordinary. I ordered the famed original fettuccine Alfredo and the classic prawn cocktail. The Alfredo was so good and the sauce on the prawn cocktail was excellent. The menu feels very nostalgic with dishes that have stood through the ages. The cocktails are strong that’s for sure, one was more than enough for a buzz. Restaurant offers valet parking as well.

Been going here for thirty plus years. What I love about this place is that it stays true to its clients and its rich history. This is the oldest restaurant in Hollywood. Been around since 1919. Steaks have always been phenomenal. But there are a few hidden gems. Like the house salad with avocado. If your not a fan of avocado than probably not for you. The French onion augratin is the best I have ever had. The prime rib is also fantastic and if you are very polite and ask the chef for a bone in cut and then have it kissed by the mesquite grill. Well you can thank me later. I also ask for the sourdough bread to be toasted on the grill not the toaster oven but the mesquite grill. Ask for a side of aujus to pair. So incredibly delicious here. And who knows, you may even run into a celebrity or two. Highly recommend this place.

Ambiance, food and service are fantastic. There aren't many of these institutions left and I'm sure glad this has stuck around. There are two or three steakhouses that has better steaks but it's still up there, and the ambiance can't be beat! I ordered the sand dabs, cream of spinach, and the rib eye steak medium rare, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. My original order was going to be prime rib however they ran out by the time of my reservations. IG: kay_okay_eat

Our last night in L.A. looking for somewhere special for our anniversary. We had a very enjoyable experience at Musso & Frank. The host kindly led us to his favorite "special" booth which allowed us to watch the entire scene inside, and it was a scene. The level of service is uniquy courteous, it is clear they take it seriously while maintaining a personable touch. Of course the food was outstanding as well but what matters here is the overall experience. Thank you to our host and servers for a memorable evening.

Musso & Frank is my go-to for a high class dining experience for any celebration. Impeccable service, old Hollywood atmosphere, and food served to perfection. I always get the Prime Rib w/ Baked potato ($69). Another person in my party got the Filet Mignon (perfection), and another got the Veal Schnitzel. The birthday boy at our table got the special, chicken pot pie! Yes, there are daily/nightly specials. And yes, if you go here for your birthday or special occasion, expect to be treated like royalty! They even give you a cute Musso & Frank card, and a brownie sundae! Valet is $15. You need to make a reservation for this place. Even so, they were able to modify ours when we added one more person. Home to the first phone booth in LA. Get the Lemon Drop martini. Trust me.

Perch is a glamorous rooftop setting in Historic Downtown Los Angeles, offering French small plates and handcrafted cocktails with stunning city views. The revitalized neighborhood boasts several rooftop bars, but Perch stands out as the most romantic spot for locals and visitors to enjoy low lights, delicious cocktails, and semi-secluded corners while admiring the LA skyline.
Perch in Downtown Los Angeles is one of those rare places that makes the city itself feel cinematic. Perched high above Pershing Square, it offers a panoramic view that stretches from the shimmering skyline to the Hollywood Hills. It’s no wonder that this French-inspired rooftop restaurant draws both locals and travelers looking for that quintessential LA evening. Yes, it can get crowded, especially on weekends, but it’s part of the energy and allure. The key is to lean into it, find your rhythm, and let the ambiance carry the night. The food here is consistently excellent. The French onion soup is one of the best in the city, rich and deeply caramelized with a perfect layer of melted Gruyère. The steak frites are a signature dish for good reason: perfectly cooked, served with crisp, salty fries and a velvety peppercorn sauce that feels indulgent but balanced. The moules frites are another standout, swimming in a white wine broth fragrant with garlic and herbs. For something lighter, the roasted beet salad and the seared scallops both show real finesse. The cocktail list is thoughtful, with house specialties like the Hemingway daiquiri and a lavender martini that pairs beautifully with the sunset. Romantic, delicious, and unforgettable, Perch is one of LA’s rare spots that truly earns its reputation.

We valet parked right in front and it cost $15. We went up two different elevators and came out into an old antique room..the decor was from the early 1900s and wonderful. Paintings of naked ladies over the bar..cool chandeliers and lights and event he floor was really old patterns and the dining area had super old tiles on the floor. Many were cracked but it added to the atmosphere of the old building which is over 100 years old. We got seated outside on the roof although there was even a higher roof top floor we could see adjacent to us. We immediately were approached by our waiter who got our drink orders and returned quickly with them. They had a lot of choices and we had coffee and lattes and water and tea and everyone said they were delicious. We ordered from the breakfast menu and first got appetizers.. Brie Cheese wrapped in a pastry with a little fruit ans it was delicious. Wished it was a larger amount! Also got a fruit plate and enjoyed the fresh cut fruits. We had others too but forgot to get my camera out. For breakfast we got several items..Eggs Benedict, French Toast with fruit and maple syrup, a fancy salad of some sort and you can see the pictures of the rest. I was a bit overwhelmed so didnt think about the names of what each of ua got. They had champagne and a full large bar. Nice staff and courteous. Overall it was a lovely meal and only wish the surrounding area weren't filled with homeless and druggies. Made me sad and a bit scared once we got outside. We were so happy the valet was close.

It has a rooftop and a great environment. You need to go to the 13th floor first and then transfer to the 15th floor. It offers dining options and also has an outdoor area. The 16th floor is the rooftop, where the night view is fantastic. The food taste is just so-so, but the environment adds a lot of points. Finally, they also gave us three glasses of champagne, which was really nice.

I usually don't do long reviews, but here we are. This review is also the average of 8 people combined (our table). Overall score total of 2 out of 5. We made a birthday reservation party of 8 for Sunday 10/27 @7:30pm. We arrived around 7:35/40pm as due to La traffic and parking situation, plus elevator wait to go up as it is small. To start off it felt fine and we were ready to have a great experience for a birthday celebration. But as we were seated, it was a long wait for the server to just come and introduce themselves. Then even after they did it took another 20/30 minutes for them to take our orders. Since it was busy and we had a big group, we had to get the pre fix combo meals. The first dishes for our group took another 15/20 minutes and same thing for the course/entree and deserts. The funny part is that the bussers would also keep coming to us and asking if we were done. Even if we were the plates get all taken away but our next dish was another wait. On top of that our server was no where to be found the entire time, which also made no sense when the 20% gratuity was added to our bill by default already. Made it seem like since they know and we know we are getting auto charged for gratuity they can do whatever and they're still getting their tips. Then, when my entree came it was a steak frite, I asked for medium well which I usually get and has never had a problem at other restaurants. But when I got it at the Perch, it was different very rare and I told them nicely and the server took it back gave me a new one, which the steak was honestly not any better and if anything was more rare. I kept wanting to look on the bright side but it was just getting worse. Anyways they gave birthday girl the desert with a candle, but tell me why another table outside in the patio outisde got the whole team (all the servers) to sing for them. When we only got the busser who brought out the desert and sang happy birthday halfway and just left.... I don't know if they normally sing for birthdays but we felt racially discriminated as there were no Asians inside the restaurant at the time as well. Well as it ended I was discussing with our group about the service and food, pretty sure a server heard us talking about REVIEWS and YELP, so then somehow the manager runs over and asks us about our experience. We told him a little about this overall experience and he offered us to go checkout the rooftop and gave us drinks. But he lowkey didn't make it any better because we didn't ask for drinks or talk about our genuine experience to get free drinks and rooftop bar entry. It wasn't our point, but I do think overall the Perch needs better teamwork and everyone on the same page because why did it take forever to get our food and for our server or anyone to come assist us. On top of everything it wasn't busy too. For an upscale restaurant that we are paying each $73 for, I would expect better service and food. Anyways sorry for the long review, but on my behalf and my group we just didn't feel like this was an upscale 5 star restaurant experience.

Perch is a great French restaurant, perched atop an aesthetic rooftop. My steak was cooked perfectly, and I thought the mashed potatoes were brilliantly seasoned. The bouillabaisse (which I tried) was also very nice. The server ensured my meal was safe, and even verified with me when it came out so I would feel at ease. The live music was a wonderful touch, and made for a very inviting atmosphere. In short, I would be happy to perch myself at Perch once again for a meal!

Perch offered a lovely experience for our anniversary date, with thoughtful touches that made the evening feel special. The cocktails were a strong start—the Pinacillan was enjoyable with a distinctive ginger note that added a refreshing twist. I also want to acknowledge Chase for ensuring the Old Fashioned was remade perfectly; the attention to detail did not go unnoticed. In addition to his phenomenal service. For dinner, the Shrimp Gnocchi was incredibly satisfying—rich, filling, and beautifully complemented by the flavor the shrimp added to the dish. The Steak and Frites were another standout. The sauce was exceptional, and while the steak could have used a touch more salt, the overall dish was well executed and enjoyable. We ended the night with their anniversary dessert, a thoughtful gesture that added a memorable finish to our evening. Perch delivered a warm and elevated dining experience, perfect for celebrating a special occasion.

A dear friend is visiting from the East Coast this weekend and as we were trying to decide where to "meet in the middle" between Pasadena and Fullerton, I mentioned that I had been craving short ribs. My friend nearly exploded with excitement as she said, "We have to go to Perch!!" She went on to tell me how much she'd enjoyed her previous dining experiences there. She said, "You're going to love it! They have the BEST short ribs." And she was right! The braised short ribs were tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. The ribs were plated with potato puree, beets and pearl onions. I contemplated saving some for another meal, but I was enjoying them so much, nothing was left to take home. 🤷🏽‍♀️ For appetizers, we shared the baked brie anf the Cesar Salad, both were delicious. The salad dressing had a delicious citrus undertone that subtly elevated the flavor. The brie was wrapped in a cute puff pastry and served with a tango vegetable slaw. They paired so deliciously. I also ordered the brussel sprouts, since it's one of my favorite veggies when roasted. They were well seasoned and tasted good, but they were a little undercooked for my preference. For dessert, we both had decaf affogatos. It's a delicious way to top off the meal! The view of Downtown LA at night was beautiful. The vibe was amazing. We were seated outside on the patio near the band (by request). Ms. Sydney Ranee and her group delivered chill, soulful sounds of familiar tunes so creativity arranged. We stayed until the end of their last set and had to stop to laud and thank them for the beautiful sounds. The current, warmer October weather made the evening enjoyable as well. I brought a jacket just in case, but didn't need it. There were patio heaters nearby, but we didn't need them. One thing I noticed and appreciated about the patio dining is that even though it's up high, there was a visual break of plants around the patio between the safety glass and the edge of the building. It helped minimize the butterflies I often feel when looking out from a tall building. The wait staff was very efficient and attentive. One person, Brett, stood out though. We chatted with him for quite a while as we were about to begin our appetizers. He was very friendly and attentive. He even accompanied us to the rooftop bar where we had the chance to talk some more. He definitely added to an already memorable and enjoyable evening.

E.P. & L.P. is a trendy rooftop destination in West Hollywood, offering a stylish spot for rooftop drinks and Southeast Asian fare on its third-floor rooftop with expansive views of the Sunset Strip and Hollywood Hills. The wraparound wooden bar provides a chic setting to enjoy craft cocktails while taking in the scenery, and guests can also indulge in modern-Mexican cuisine at the sister restaurant downstairs.
Came here on a weekday for a networking event and was pleasantly surprised by the nice view, fun drinks and good service of the rooftop bar. We used some tables and high tops and it was perfect for 20 or so of us. The drinks were good and so was the food, I tried the chips and guac and it was very fresh and reasonably priced. Would come back again!

We are looking for a cute rooftop spot for a drink and light bite while we wait for our dinner reservation at 6:00. And found this is a cute spot online. Unfortunately they had screen covers covering all the walls, I imagine for the chiller weather in the evening, although it did harper the indoor outdoor appeal of being on a rooftop. Nonetheless we still enjoyed our time, I loved my Mezcal drink, I ordered "where love lives." I love the vibe, lots of plants and really nice view of the Hollywood hills. Great spot for a sunny outdoor vibe.

Stopped by on a weekday and really enjoyed it! The rooftop was super chill, music was solid, and the food and appetizers were actually really good — not just your typical bar bites. Only heads-up: bring your physical ID. They don’t take photo or digital versions. One of our friends had to walk all the way back to the car to grab theirs. Besides that, it’s a great spot to hang. We’ll be back!

The vibe and atmosphere of this place is beautiful with amazing view. We went for the brunch, the menu is very small and the food we chose was decent and affordable. The drinks were good and very cute. 8/10 recommend for a nice but chill outing.

We tried the lobster roll with fries and had a beer. The food was definitely tasty, but the portion was on the small side, especially for the price. Great flavors and nice vibe overall, but a bit pricey for what you get.

This is my first time leaving a negative review, and as a business owner myself, I understand how hard it is to run a business. However, this place truly needs to improve. Last year, my husband and I visited after work, not dressed up, and had a terrible experience. We were ignored by one of the girl, waited over 30 minutes for food, and even a simple request for napkins was dismissed. Meanwhile, another table that looked “fancier” received friendly, attentive service. Everyone can tell if you was there with me. I recently came back with friends, and while the food was served faster, the service still showed the same attitude. Customer service should treat everyone equally—appearance or wealth should never matter. Tips reflect the service provided, not how customers look.

What I love most about EP + LP is the level of customer service that this establishment maintains. The staff are always very attentive and friendly. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous. You can see all of LA in any direction from the rooftop, which is decorated with lights and lots of pretty plants. As far as food & drinks go, I usually opt for some type of margarita (always super refreshing.) The tacos are my go-to entree--try the mushroom/vegan option!

Such lovely vibes!! Perfect spot for a date night or night out with friends. Love their patio - so much seating! The charcuterie was delicious and generous, as were the wine pours. Reasonably priced and it’s a space you can really linger in.

Guacamole, fish and shredded steak taco, and the steak quesadilla were amazing. Wasn't a fan of the potato taco (too salty for me, could use some pickled onion for a little balance), table next to me loved it, though! The sparkling wine is amazing. Friendly staff, got a bit busy when I went. Y'all did great lol breathe and move swiftly. Don't forget to check on your tables. Lovely atmosphere and night overall. Definitely going to return to try more of the menu.

Really cool indoor/outdoor seating, nice selection of wines and aperitivo spritzers. DJs spin vinyl regularly on evenings. The pizzas are a bit steep in price for the size but they’re really tasty. Two spritzers plus pizza came out to $71. Parking is very difficult to find on weekends

Wonderful wine spot. Went for happy hour where select bottles of wine are $48. Say less. I do wish that they would have a couple more by the glass options for HH though. They have a rotating menu for food with a couple snacks that are there regularly. A few of their snack dishes come with Bub & Grandma’s bread. So yum. Their patio is very cute and the overall vibe of the restaurant is neighborhood cozy. Street parking.

This place is unique in the sense that they are doing pop-ups and basically switch out the menu and vibe every so often. In our case it was a Caribbean and Israeli infused cuisine. With themed accompanied music and a lovely outdoor patio, the time there was absolutely stunning. Melody is actually known for their 200+ types of wines, so eating delicious food there was surprising and very enjoyable at the same time. I highly recommend this place for those who love wine and great food. The staff is super friendly and the location is cool.

Such a pretty restaurant!! House restaurant with outdoor and indoor seating. They have a DJ area, Happy hour, brunch, lunch and dinner menu. $13 Burger was good (No fries), and my friend enjoyed her $15 octopus salad. Outdoor seating has heat lamps and blankets. Service is great. Parking is in the back, valet $5 starting at 5pm. Seating is a bit cramped but since it's still a new restaurant, there is alot of room. Bar Lis, located on the top floor of Thompson Hollywood, is a romantic and picturesque rooftop bar with a French-inspired ambiance. It offers craft cocktails and elevated bites, making it an ideal spot for a date night. The bar hosts live jazz nights on Tuesdays and lively tequila-fueled dance parties on Saturdays.
Just visited Bar Lis for the first time last night… they’ve been doing Tuesday Jazz Nights for almost 4 years. The talent oooozing out of each Musician who performs is quite the site to see. Gilles who puts on this event places so much love into everything he does. The way he greets guests, the way he honors each Artist who shares their talent, the way he has his eyes on multiple things all at the same time to ensure everyone enjoys their night is truly special and inspiring to witness. Highly recommend! I think if you have guests visiting from out of town on a Tuesday night, this is the perfect place to take them. Book a table and enjoy dinner, drinks and a beautiful show!

We celebrated our one-year wedding anniversary at Bar Lis and had an unforgettable night! We sat in a cozy booth inside and enjoyed an incredible dinner — the tuna tartare, kale Caesar, chicken wings, seared trout, and hanger steak were all delicious. We tried a mix of cocktails including the Bang Bang, Le Rosé, Stella beer, and a Maker’s Old Fashioned — all crafted perfectly. The highlight was the thoughtful surprise from the staff: a house-made cookie with vanilla ice cream, a candle, and two glasses of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. It was such a sweet and memorable gesture. Around 10 PM, the vibe shifted into a lively lounge with a live DJ. The music, energy, and dancing were amazing — such a fun atmosphere with stunning views of Hollywood. Highly recommend Bar Lis for a special night out. The staff is attentive, friendly, and made our evening truly special.

Do not re comment disrespectful and worst service bar and host. Especially this host pictured (venue take note). I would go to desert 5 spot. Coming from another country to visit. The acts were fantastic. Would never return based ont his guy in the photo and the commotion he caused because we sat down on a chair (that was unreserved and had no signs) after a couple got up.

Bar Lis is easily one of Hollywood’s best hidden gems. The decor is elegant with a touch of vintage flair, and the atmosphere always feels intimate and stylish. The espresso martinis are consistently perfect — rich, smooth, and beautifully presented. A must for cocktail lovers

Let’s start with the positives..This bar is absolutely stunning and gorgeous. The ambience, music, sunset views, indoor/outdoor options, & younger crowd make this place a lovely choice for a fun night out with the girls. However, the service was horrible & I’m big on that, especially when you’re spending a pretty penny here. The server was very slow to check on our table & not impressionable or friendly in any way. Unfortunately, we chose this place to celebrate a birthday but it didn’t feel right. The waiter would constantly walk past our table but she would not stop to see if we needed anything. We kept loosing our buzz and it was frustrating to sit there constantly waiting for her to come back. There was another customer walking around with their check trying to find his waiter so it wasn’t just us that was frustrated with the poor service. Its definitely worth checking out though. If I were to go back, I’d just stop by the bar to order a drink, walk around and take a few pictures & then leave. -FYI, call ahead of time if you’re mainly interested in the outdoor deck/pool because it was closed when we went.

Its small size and somewhat hidden location contribute to its low-key vibe. The rooftop-style patio provides an ideal setting to enjoy nice weather.

We sat on the patio with a few cocktails we ordered: From LA with Love (tall orange drink) and LA Adelita (Mocktail). They were fantastic! I especially like the ambiance of the bar. Hip, brand new rooftop spot with friendly staff and top-tier cocktails. The outdoor deck is heated and cozy, but it's way smaller than I expected and they do not take reservations - so you may have to wait for a spot, as we did even on a Thursday. You can bring up food from the market below and they're even dog friendly. Great vibe! Update: They leveled up the outdoor seating big time! There are now cozy couches to sit on and way more space, plenty of room even on a Saturday. Definitely going to stop by more often.

Cute hidden rooftop! 🍸☀️ Stumbled upon it a bit randomly wondering where the stairs were leading and discovered this cozy bar that’s also dog-friendly! 🐾 The bartenders were super nice and the cocktails were too + big glasses! (I tried the Nomadic) Not a lot of seating but with just 2 people it was easy to find a spot (it’s all first come first serve). Very fun social vibe, we ended up chatting pretty much the whole time with the people sitting on both sides of us and it was lovely. 👯‍♀️👯👯‍♂️ You can also bring food from downstairs! (I placed an order on my phone and just had to pick it up 15 min later) 🍕

Clifford Clinton's namesake restaurant chain expanded to Southern California in the 1930s with themed branches that are now all gone. In 1935, Cliftons Cafeteria opened as Clifton's Brookdale, featuring a mesmerizing forest-like environment and tasty dishes at reasonable prices. The last of the chain, Cliftons Republic is one of its surviving branches and has been beautifully renovated by owner Andrew Meieran.
Clifton’s Republic’s 3 floors and 5 different spaces was not what captured my eye to this place. It also wasn’t the excellent customer service provided by every single employee of this place. It also wasn’t the great vibes of everyone coming here on a Saturday evening and how easy it is to meet people here. The hook with Clifton’s Republic is that it’s Rainforest Cafe for the young adults of Los Angeles: a more hip, fresh, innovative and different space for people to either mingle amongst each other, or for people to meet other young professionals in a busy city such as L.A. Entry fee is US$20.00 per person, but it is well worth it. You get a small shot of what can be best described as “spiked lemonade”, then you go through some cave and find yourself in the first space. A vast lobby with multiple floors, two bonfires going, and plenty of seating space. There are either conference rooms where you and your friends can be in a more private, personal setting. You keep diving in, and you find yourself in the dance area. A giant oak tree with a bonfire inside of it sits at the far end of it, to the right a bar with great selection, and there is even a small tower-like structure where you can go and just chill? There is even a booth for photos as well. I came with a friend as a goodbye gift (she is moving back to Korea in a week or so) and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone that frequents this place is also friendly, approachable, and overall just great people. Highly recommended lounge/venue to dance, chat and eat amongst taxidermy & nature dioramas.

Taste :4.5/5 Environment: 5/5 Service:4.7/5 Nestled in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, Clifton's Cafeteria is more than just a place to grab a bite—it's a journey through time and imagination. Established in 1935 by Clifford Clinton, this iconic eatery has been serving up hearty meals and whimsical experiences for nearly a century. Clifton's is renowned for its unique blend of comfort food and fantastical decor, making it a beloved landmark in LA's culinary and cultural landscape. Walking into Clifton's Cafeteria feels like stepping into a storybook. The interior is a mesmerizing mix of natural elements and fantastical designs, featuring towering faux redwoods, cascading waterfalls, and hidden grottoes. Each floor offers a different theme, from the rustic woodland ambiance of the Forest Glen to the celestial charm of the Gothic Bar. It's a place where diners can escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse themselves in a world of wonder.

This is a great theme restaurant with lots of lounge space and comfortable sofas and chairs and private tables and fireplaces and nooks and all that, plus a dance floor and music of course. Pretty cool place. We had reservation for dinner at 7:30. The hamburger and fries are delicious. They only have 4-5 food options and only two were available tonight, flautas and the burger. They were out of beer also - I don’t drink alcohol but wanted non - alcoholic beer which they don’t offer. My friends had cocktails they said were good although lots of ice. The service was lacking- no cocktail napkins with the drinks, silverware and napkins weren’t brought out with dinner, had to ask a few times for these items. Plus they didn’t enter one of the burgers for the order so that came late. Hope it was a hitch. All in all, I would go back, it’s an interesting place.

Hidden gem! This lounge/bar is tucked away in DTLA. It has multiple floors with AMAZING one of a kind decorations! Be prepared to walk up and down stairs exploring all the hidden treasures. There's a main dance floor with an awesome DJ playing lots of great mixes. There's an AWESOME hidden tiki bar if you could find the hidden entrance. Service is very friendly. Drinks are pricey $18+ as expected in such an establishment. They look great, but taste was disappointing. The ambience is definitely what you're paying for. There's a cover charge and dress code. However, we got free passes and many guests weren't dressed to impress. Lots of seating and photo ops throughout. You can find quite place to just hang out or a loud place to dance. They provide valet parking. There's self parking structure across the street $15 Worth visiting at least once in my opinion.
Sam H — Google review
2 stars for the food, but I would exoect it to improve with time. Clifton’s Republic is less of a bar and more of a time machine with a cocktail in hand. We dropped in early in the evening, and while the food wasn’t anything to write home about, the atmosphere definitely was. Every inch of the place is packed with vintage charm, quirky decor, and that wild “only-in-DTLA” energy that keeps you looking around the room in awe. This iconic venue is a layered experience—part lounge, part museum, part fever dream. It feels like stepping into an adventurer’s storybook, complete with taxidermy, glowing trees, secret nooks, and endless photo ops. By the time we were leaving, the crowd was starting to build, and I can easily see this place hitting its stride as the night rolls on. If you’re looking for a typical bar—keep walking. But if you’re craving an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind spot with serious visual storytelling, this is a must-see stop in Downtown LA. We’ll definitely be back—next time, a little later and a little thirstier for the full experience.

It was such a cool atmosphere with the different bars that they have. I enjoyed looking around and finding a bunch of hidden spots and the staff were very friendly. One of the staff members showed us the tree top area and I wish I remembered to get his name because he was very nice.

This place is massive, and each floor has its own unique vibe. The tiki room even features a different DJ, which adds a fun change of pace. The music on the main floor can be hit or miss at times, but the atmosphere and overall venue definitely make up for it. I just wish it drew a bigger crowd — it would be the perfect spot if it were a bit livelier. It tends to feel a little empty on some weekends.

Interesting place. Historical building. Parking in the area sucks, expensive to get in. Multiple floors, hidden areas, a speakeasy. And soooooo many cool things to look at including a red wood tree! The DJ wasn’t great, not a lot of people dancing. This place was worth checking out if you like oddities. But otherwise probably won’t be back or really recommend.

The menu offers New American fare with diverse ingredients like chiles, seasonal fruits, and exotic herbs, creating unique dishes that leave diners impressed with their originality.
Excellent experience. The food was fantastic and the portions were very generous. Highly recommend the duck fried rice, the kale salad was great. Their bar scene and cocktails are amazing. Very much a vibe. Seating outdoors is preferred and they have nice heat lamps to keep you warm. Very very cool place, awesome food, and excellent people watching

The vibe is energetic and fun. Food is delicious! The server is also helpful when we need some suggestions. We are seated in outdoor patio and it was lovely with lighting decorations. The cheese burger is very juicy and delicious. The lavender margarita is great too. Pistachio gelato is on the sweeter side but it’s also tasty. I hope they would have more choices in desserts. I would recommend to come here for friend gathering or date either for lunch or dinner.

Laurel Hardware hits the sweet spot: stylish without trying too hard, a little romantic without being precious, and reliably good every time. The outdoor dining area is the crown jewel—lush, candlelit, and somehow always the right temperature (or at least it feels that way after a cocktail). It’s a great spot for a date or for catching up with friends who still care about the scene but don’t need to scream over a DJ. The food? Good to very good—exactly what it should be. Not chasing Michelin stars, but not phoning it in either. You’ll find something you like, and it will land just right with a crisp drink in hand. The cocktails are strong, the service is smooth, and the crowd is exactly what you’d expect in this part of town: good-looking but not insufferable. It’s a five-star spot not because it’s redefining cuisine, but because it delivers what it promises: a fun, stylish, solid night out. You leave feeling like the evening went off without a hitch—and sometimes, that’s the best kind of luxury.

The name is a holdover from the previous business at this location which was a hardware store. They kept the original facade and renovated the interior to have this industrial moody vibe. They also have a very nice outdoor patio in yeh back. As for the food we had some pizza and pasta. To me the pizza was the winner and had a nice sourdough base (chewy yet had density). Our waitress was also extremely friendly. Price was average for the area and worth it.

A fixture in the LA food scene that is a really cool space that used to be a hardware store. Try to get the back patio for dinner since it’s super romantic with all the hanging lights and a cool space. Inside is nice too but a little too dim compared to the outside. Overall, I thought the food was good and well priced and great to share with a group. Some highlights for me was the Burrata, Chicken Wings and their Pizza. The Pasta was good too and freshly made. Service was friendly and would come back!

Duck fried rice is the best! The vibe outdoor is beautiful. When we first arrived, the hostess kept trying to seat the three of us at a spot that was clearly too small—basically a table meant for two. We had to repeatedly ask to be moved to a proper table several times, which started the experience off on the wrong note. Other than that, everything else was fine, but honestly, the restaurant didn’t feel particularly worth a return visit. The portions and flavor just didn’t stand out compared to the price and reputation. The only dish we truly enjoyed was the duck fried rice, which was delicious. Overall, it was an okay experience, but not a place I’d rush back to.

We had a great meal at Laurel Hardware. We shared a few appetizers and a pizza, and everything was delicious. The service was attentive without feeling rushed. We had reservations, so we were seated right away, but the restaurant was definitely busy—I’d recommend booking ahead. We sat inside, though the covered outdoor seating also looked inviting.

Worth the hype. Menu seemed a little lackluster at first glance, but every item blew us away. Started with the Crispy Rice Salad to share - star of the show. Easily one of the best salads I’ve ever eaten. Amazing balance of crunch, heat, acid, and sweetness. No notes. Unexpected favorite entree, the squash pizza. The pasta did not disappoint - huge portions & excited to take home a portion. The burger was not anything to phone home about, but good. The cheese/butter sauce was kind of weird & very loose. Got a bottle of Pinot Noir & the juice box Margarita, can’t complain. Gave the service a 4, primarily because I had to get the host’s attention upon arrival & they were very insistent about the 90-minute limit. It was enforced by the host, the woman who walked us to the table, and the waitress. Atmosphere was a little confusing with a more casual happy hour happening parallel to a nice restaurant, but not a big deal. Overall great dinner & would come back for the salad everyday if I could.

Fine dining restaurant
The Raymond Restaurant in Pasadena, CA offers a romantic dining experience in a charming cottage with a garden patio. The restaurant's ambiance is subtly romantic and soothing, housed in a lovingly restored California bungalow. The menu features refined steaks and seafood, including Long Island roast duckling, softshell crabs, rack of lamb chops, and medallions of beef. For brunch, the restaurant offers a diverse selection of dishes such as the Classic Raymond Curry and the Raymond Cheeseburger.
We had brunch at The Raymond on a Sunday before going to the Pasadena Showcase House event. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere was classy and nostalgic, and the food was tasty. I highly recommend the cocktails, I had the Old Fashioned. If you’re with a group, definitely get the pastry board which is a sampling of all of the pastries that they offer. The Short Rib tacos were very tasty. Everyone on my party enjoyed their meal and the atmosphere, go check it out!

Nice hidden gem. Pretty comfortable even you sit outside the patio in summer time. Since there is many plants among the outdoor table area. Service is Good. Food although not surprisingly but not bad at all.

Food: The calamari was good, it was little bit too spicy for me, and the rice paper was a little oily but still yummy. The bread and butters were great, they swap out the flavors every day, and we had smoked cheddar and cranberry orange, I really enjoyed the cranberry orange one, it was bright and sweet and buttery. The kale salad was also good , the perfect dressing and the perfect toppings. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and it was very flavorful. The chimichurri was delicious and very fresh tasting. The Mac n cheese was good, but needed a better cheesy flavor, it was a little creamy and not cheesy. We had three desserts, the lemon dessert, the chocolate pot de crème, and the chocolate bread pudding. The pot de crème base was great, rich and creamy, but the olive oil sea salt in the whipped cream didn’t hit the mark. It threw off the flavor for me. The bread pudding was great, I think that because the chef used fresh bread not stale bread it elevated it to a new level. I’m not a big bread pudding fan but this was good. The lemon dessert was the best of them all, the perfect tartness, and it was silky smooth and just melted away in your mouth. The blueberry sauce was just divine and a beautiful color. Service: Our server, Ginger, was great, she was kind and helped us with some items on the menu. The food came out so fast, she hadn’t even left our table yet and the salad was at our table. Atmosphere: I thought it was cute and cozy. We sat outside and the light that came in was beautiful. It was perfect for when the sun was setting because it wasn’t too warm, and if it got cold they had heaters. Overall: Great food, great atmosphere! I recommend!

We had a really wonderful night here. Our reservation was for 10 PM, but we showed up a bit early—around 9:15—without realizing the kitchen had already closed. Still, the staff was incredibly kind and went out of their way to seat and serve us anyway, which honestly made our night. The food was amazing. We had the crudo, salmon, tagliatelle, and semifreddo for dessert—every dish was delicious and clearly made with care. The flavors were spot on and everything was beautifully presented. On top of that, the service was just exceptional. Friendly, attentive, and never rushed, even though we were there so late. The space itself is also beautiful—really warm and cozy with a touch of elegance. We left super happy and will definitely be coming back soon. Big thanks to the team at The Raymond for making it such a great night!

The service at this restaurant is really good and the drinks are great But the food is really average to me If they could make the food tastier, this could be a five star joint to me Because I really do love the outdoor seating and I love the attention to detail in terms of service But besides the fried calamari, none of the other dishes really wowed me The ribeye is definitely not worth the money We ordered medium well and it definitely came out well done . It tasted not as good as my own cooking, which is weird cause I’m not a really good cook. The short rib was also a bit on the dry side. The Chilean Seabass is just kind of average too

Great food and great people. We were served quickly. We parked our vehicle well. We're happy with our stay. The food are tasty.
Kaylee J — Google review
I recently visited Raymond Restaurant and had a mixed experience. The food was tasty, especially the flavors in the Rueben sandwich — however, it was too greasy, and the meats inside had too much fat, which made it a bit heavy and hard to enjoy fully. The service was decent, with staff doing their best to be friendly and helpful, but things were noticeably slow, likely due to what seemed like a shortage of staff. Overall, there’s potential here, but a few adjustments in the kitchen and on the service floor would make a big difference.
David — Google review
The Raymond Restaurant has a great ambiance with a cozy yet lively feel. We visited during brunch, and while the space has the charm of an upscale eatery, it leans more toward a bar-like atmosphere rather than a traditional restaurant setting. Our waiter was fantastic—attentive and friendly—but the wait time for food was noticeably long. Even dessert took quite a while to arrive, which was a bit frustrating. If you’re looking for a quick meal, this might not be the best option. However, if you’re in the mood to relax and enjoy a leisurely dining experience, The Raymond could be a good spot for you. Overall, great service and atmosphere, but the kitchen’s pacing could use some improvement.

Spire 73 is a renowned open-air bar located on the 73rd floor of the InterContinental Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. As part of the Wilshire Grand Center, it stands as the tallest building west of the Mississippi, offering unparalleled views of LA from over 1,000 feet above ground. The bar features craft cocktails and cozy firepits where guests can enjoy drinks like Orion's Paloma while taking in stunning 360-degree city vistas.
Views were gorgeous. Food was excellent. Service was impeccable(was offered a soft blanket when the waiter noticed me shivering) 10/10 experience. I would go back and reccomend for anyone if you want a unique LA dining experience! I had no wait but I had a reservation so I would reccomend that!

Most gorgeous view!!! Our server was so sweet and professional. She even brought us blankets. Food was not good, but chicken wings were good. Drink was pretty decent. It takes while to get seated but once they seat you, you can enjoy beautiful view. Sunset view was stunning!

Went here on a Saturday evening. Fortunately was able to find parking on Francisco Street where the hotel is located. Otherwise, you'll have to park at the hotel, but not sure of pricing there. You enter on the Figueroa entrance and take 2 elevators up. The first one takes you to the 70th, and you get a small preview of the views you'll experience, so the excitement gets enhanced. The second elevator is glass, so you'll see the western portion of L.A., and it's stunning. When you get off you have a hostess take you to your table and that's where you experience the full views of L.A. Insanely stunning! Got seats by the views. The atmosphere is very mellow and chic. There's no dress code as I saw people with shorts and wearing sports shirts. I went here for the cocktails, and they were okay. The old fashioned didn't have a balance of bourbon, orange and bitters. Plus the drink was half-filled. The mezcal drink was pretty good. Overall, definitely an experience to see a 360⁰ of L.A. Perfect date-night setting. Highly recommend coming here.

Our Uber driver recommended this bar, the tallest open-air bar in the Western Hemisphere on the 73rd floor. So we went and really enjoyed ourselves. The cocktails and beer were fantastic, the food tasty and delicious, the service attentive. The only disappointment was that the views were thru glass.

The views are stunning. The sunset even better. If you just want some photo ops, come here. They have no alcohol spirits as well. The workers are super friendly. Van behind the bar is kind and considerate.

Drinks are way overpriced priced. We ordered happy hour drinks which were just OK. The food was bland. We ordered the bacon chicken wings which tasted like hotdogs. The fries were ok. The salmon had very little taste. My wife's chicken was delicious. The table s'more was fun. Honestly, nothing memorable about the food. A great charcuterie board would be awesome. The service and view is amazing.

The Dresden Restaurant & Lounge is a classic Hollywood establishment that has been featured in numerous films and TV shows. It offers a vintage, '50s-era ambiance and serves steakhouse fare alongside cocktails and live music performances. The venue presents two distinct experiences: a refined dining room with white-tablecloth service and an inviting cocktail lounge with a casual atmosphere. Renowned jazz duo Marty and Elaine have been entertaining guests at The Dresden since 1982, adding to its iconic status as a celebrity hotspot.
Great place to have a cocktail and listen to live music. We had a few small plates which were excellent. We arrived with no reservation on a Friday night and only had to wait 30 minutes. Very accommodating, all this considered.
James T — Google review
I’ve been wanting to try The Dresden for a while, and finally booked a table on a Saturday night. Surprisingly, the dining area wasn’t very busy, and I quickly saw why. The dining room itself feels a bit outdated, and while service was attentive and friendly, the food was disappointing. We started with fried calamari, which unfortunately was rubbery and not fresh, so I had to send it back. For mains, I ordered steak and shrimp scampi — both were just average, with the shrimp lacking freshness and flavor. Overall, the food didn’t justify coming here for dinner. Afterwards, I moved to the lounge, and that’s when the night turned around. The live jazz band created a fantastic atmosphere, and the lounge was lively, fun, and exactly what I had hoped for. Bottom line: Skip the dining room, but definitely come for drinks, the vibe, and the live music. Perfect spot for cocktails and jazz, not for a memorable dinner
Ali F — Google review
The Dresden has the vibe and history, but the food has really slipped into mediocrity the last couple of times I’ve been. I usually order the salmon, but it’s been consistently bland and forgettable. My husband’s second attempt at the filet mignon came with a béarnaise sauce that was way too thick, lumpy, and gritty, with a strange chemical taste. It completely lacked the smooth, creamy consistency you’d expect from a proper béarnaise. The steak itself, however, was cooked perfectly medium rare and was excellent. His sides of potatoes and broccoli were just basic. The Caesar salad was another letdown — very mild in flavor and in desperate need of more lemon and some anchovies to give it that tangy, umami kick that makes a Caesar shine. The escargot was just okay; two shells were completely empty, and the ones that did have something inside were tough to remove. Honestly, I’ve had better escargot on a cruise ship. Service is usually a highlight here, and our waiter was as nice and friendly as ever, but this time it was slow and dragged the evening out. My husband’s martini was even forgotten and didn’t arrive until after our food. That said, once the drinks came, they reminded me why people still love this place — strong, classic cocktails that fit the iconic atmosphere perfectly. Bottom line: come for the cocktails and the old-school vibe, especially with the live jazz, and you’ll have a good time. But if you’re looking for a memorable meal, you’ll probably leave disappointed.

This is new and old Hollywood! Vintage restaurant from 1954 with an old Hollywood aesthetic. Yet, also renovated with modern touches too. Big semi circle booths with soft lighting. Perfect for date night or out with friends! Love!! I wish I had taken more photos!

Our waiter Fred made our first experience at Dresden so memorable! You can feel history kiss you on the lips as you walk through the door and enter a different world. The forest motif of the dining room, the live music in the lounge, the dim lights and lively chatter add to the warmth and delight of this place! We started with delicious calamari, and then had a Prime Rib (comes with potato and veggie), Filet Mignon, and Chicken Piccata. Everything was amazing! We ended the night with the Spiced Apple Tart and Flourless Chocolate Cake (a la mode)! This place is a must visit. My only regret is that I’ve waited so long to dine here. RESERVATIONS recommended. Parking on neighboring streets was fine.
Daniel L — Google review
This is a really cute spot. Went there on a Thursday night and there was live jazz. I really enjoyed the special cocktail menu. Our waiter Michael was very friendly and helpful. Great ambiance too. Parking is street only and that was a little tricky.
Michael F — Google review
The Most Discusting Meal in a Long Time. All sauces were not only packaged powdered but of the cheapest discount store quality. We ordered Prime Rib (was reheated pot roast at best), the Ribeye Au Poive ( steak was same quality and flavor and cut of a typical "Norms" Ribeye) and the Marsala with Chicken as opposed to Veal. The Artichoke and mushrooms in every dish was canned, the sauces of every dish was powdered. The quality of meat the lowest or reused/reheated. Just completely unacceptable . Not even the service was the same which is understandable when you expect employees working at a place which was once top notch in quality now living off its decades old reputation. It was a disgrace. Especially for the price point. Lastly we also ordered French Onion Soup which was above all the most disgusting. Tasted like the chicken broth of cup of noodles. That was the beginning of the end. The waiter asked how it was so my daughter told him the quality was terrible. We did not ask but they removed two entrees which was nice but we truly were looking forward to a delicious meal which was at best disgusting. I did take home my baked potato and broccoli . Best in our order and was still hungry but couldn't eat the meat ,sauce or canned vegetables

I think this place is underrated. I stopped by here for dinner with friends and the atmosphere was chill enough, but loud enough to enjoy. Had a fantastic evening eating and drinking at The Den. Staff - top notch and very friendly. We chatted about food options with the server and the door host was very accommodating and even changed the patio heaters around for us. Atmosphere - it's a beautiful space both inside and out. I'd love to return and sit at the bar, or eat in the restaurant. On this occasion we sat outside in their courtyard. Food+Drink - Superb. The hummus plate was filled with different tasty bits and super fresh. The octopus was one of the best we've ever had, and the blackened chicken sandwich was also very good. Everything about our visit was positive.

The way I used to love this place and its food, I’ve been coming here for the last year, but since February the quality has completely gone down. We ordered 2 burgers to go and paid 60 dollars for it to completely destroy both of our stomachs. We had to cancel our plans because we were feeling sick. Seriously still upset and you should do better because customers who used to come in twice a week probably never going to come in again after this.

Esters Wine Shop & Bar is a stylish establishment in downtown Santa Monica, housed in an Art Deco building. It offers a wide selection of over 200 wines, craft beers, specialty imports, and premium spirits. The ambiance is inviting with ample seating and beautiful lighting. The highlight is the floor-to-ceiling shelves stocked with bottles from around the world.
It was pretty packed on a Saturday night but we were still seated very quickly, for a drink before a dinner elsewhere. Honestly though, we both wished we had just stayed because we had such a great time. They have a deep wine list and are ready to make a great recommendation. They know a lot about the wines and we ended up trying 4 whites with a few we'd never even heard of. They also had a food menu that I'm still thinking about. The focaccia was really good and the cheeses were a perfect pairing. Next time we're in Santa Monica, we'll be back!
Neesh S — Google review
If I could give 100 stars I would… Ester’s Wine Bar is an absolute gem—easily one of the most incredible spots in town. The ambiance is effortlessly chic, the wine selection is top-tier, and every dish that comes out of the kitchen is downright divine. But what truly sets Ester’s apart is the people: the servers are warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do, making every visit feel like a special occasion. And the owner? A class act—deeply involved, endlessly welcoming, and clearly committed to building community through hospitality. Do yourself a favor and support this phenomenal local treasure—you’ll be hooked from your first sip.
Adam A — Google review
Overpriced, Utterly Disappointing Picnic We ordered a veggie box and a charcuterie/cheese box from Ester’s for an outdoor picnic, and what we got was shocking: two tiny, sad boxes that looked nothing like the generous online photos, for an astounding total of $120 after tax and tip. The $32 “veggie box” was mostly cucumbers and tomatoes, served with butter, instead of the green goddess and sauce rouille in the description and photos. The $56 meat/cheese box was sparse and poorly packed. It felt like eating sad scraps, not a special picnic—especially for this price. If you want to overpay for disappointment and ruin your picnic dreams, go for it. Otherwise, learn from our mistake and skip Ester’s for picnic or takeaway. We could have gotten something both much nicer and more substantial for under $50 by just picking up from a grocery store like Bristol Farms. What a bummer.
Jessica B — Google review
SO good I forgot to take pictures of everything I ate lmao! What an exquisite place to dine. I happen to know one of the chefs, and wanted to check out where they worked! It’s hard to know where to begin. The logo is adorable and the ambiance alone is worth going for. It has a casual yet elegant feel, without being elitist or exclusionary. The staff is SO friendly, too. I frankly didn’t know what a lot of the menu was, and the way it was explained was kind and compassionate :] Another interesting thing to note: in addition to being into wine, they are REALLY into cheeses here. The owner is passionate about sustainability, too! Apparently a lot of cheese isn’t even vegetarian: they still use the stomach lining of a calf to process it, which I didn’t know. But Esters has a wonderful selection of true vegetarian cheese that was sustainably made and sourced. Everything on the menu was! Honestly I had a LOT of different items and I recommend them all. The almonds, the focaccia, all the different cheeses that came with a small charcuterie board! I had the gnocchi which was just exquisite. I didn’t know gnocchi could be so light and fluffy! I usually make my own, but I make it very dense. I’ve also never had better oysters in my entire life. NO grit, not even slightly. DELICIOUS. The flavor profiles were phenomenal. The fruit and jams paired with the cheeses ruled; the entire gnocchi from the sauce and spices to the pasta itself was exquisite; the servers also had PHENOMENAL wine pairing recommendations. If you like a fun and casual (yet exquisite) dining experience that focuses on ethical and sustainable dishes, you will be right at home at Esters. I know I’ll definitely be back :]

I recently joined friends for lunch at Esters and found it to be a super cool spot to meet with friends in Santa Monica. There is a large bar in the center of the restaurant, lots of small tables and a nice outdoor patio. They have one of the largest selections of wines too! We started with a giant charcuterie board. We enjoyed the variety of cheeses paired with freshly carved meats. Then we had some avocado toast, salad and chicken. The chicken was the highlight of our lunch, and when paired with some of the topping from my avocado toast ~ heaven!

Fun option on Santa Monica Blvd! Lively crowd on a Saturday night, but still room to move around. We had a party of eight and the host is so kindly cleared out a booth for us so we didn’t have to stand by the bar. Good cocktails made well, and a DJ playing some jams. Xx, H

We came to this restaurant for dinner. The place itself is pleasant, with dim lighting—perfect for a romantic evening. However, the low light makes it a bit hard to clearly see the food, which can be inconvenient for dining, though it’s fine for enjoying drinks. I ordered the fried calamari, but they were overly greasy, and I couldn’t finish them. We also tried the focaccia with cheese, which was decent as a starter. The highlight, however, was the drinks. My friend had a passion fruit martini, which was absolutely delicious, and I opted for a non-alcoholic berry cocktail, which was simply outstanding.

An intimate romantic spot with excellent service and great food. We had a 6:30pm Saturday res and there were a good number of people at the bar the entire time we were eating. By 8pm most of the tables were filled up. Good energy. Everything we ate was delicious. Really liked the duck and I’m not a duck person. Flourless chocolate cake was amazing, it’s actually warm and more like a gooey brownie.

We booked out the back room bar for a private event and it was a lovely evening. The room had a door so we were free to mix & mingle and be loud without disturbing other patrons. We only had a small offering of snacks but they were tasty. The real hit of the evening were the custom cocktails that were named for our event, they were funny, inspired and delicious. My only complaint is the room is a bit dark and there is an elevated platform on one side of the room that people kept tripping on, I tripped on it twice and I was sober. I would like to return and sample more of their food & cocktails.

This isn't a place that should be classified as a restaurant & bar, they should honestly consider removing their booths and tables and turning into a full on bar. The menu can't decide what region it's from, the pasta sauces definitely come from a bag, the "schnitzel" was just fried chicken on mediocre ranch sauce. Very disappointed by the pricing of the food versus what came out taste wise. Portions are medium to large. Do not bring someone here unless it's to drink--the cocktails are great, but it's very clear that the bartenders and kitchen staff don't interact at all. Food took around 35-40 minutes to get to the table.
A K — Google review
The best and only place for delicious drinks and unique ambience. Their drink menu is out of this world. I come here often, so last time when I got bored with the menu, the bartender made his own creations by request based on my preference. Always a good crowd and a good conversation with the staff! 100% recommend it for a date night, casual night out with friends, really good food and the best drinks in this pet of town.

Wine bar
Restaurant
Covell, located in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, is a cozy and urbane spot known for its extensive wine selection and craft beer offerings. With a rustic and casual ambiance, this bar has been recognized as one of America's Best Wine Bars by Travel + Leisure and one of Esquire's Best Bars in America. The wine program features 150 wines by the glass, with no formal list - patrons can describe their preferences to the bartender who will offer tasting options.
Stopped in here for the first time before heading to the Hollywood Bowl on a Saturday around 4pm. There was a crowd but it wasn't crowded. Plenty of space at the bar, where I sat. Bar tender was super attentive and friendly. Good selection of wines, very diverse, and bar tenders were knowledgeable based on convos I heard. I opted for a juicy IPA bc they have a nice rotating selection of about 8 beers on tap. Food selections is limited, this is more light fare/snacking. I opted for the charcuterie board with 3 selections of cheeses and meats for $23 (there are more options than that to choose from). Initially they thought that the one meat selection I wanted was out of stock but then half way through my board they found an unopened package and brought me out a plate on the house. They definitely didn't have to do that. Really enjoyed everything about this place, including the ambience which consisted of low key classic r&b. Highly recommend and will be coming back here with my gf.

A long overdue review but this is the best wine bar in LA, full stop. Every bartender actually cares about getting you a glass of wine that you’ll love and they really know their stuff too. This is a true neighborhood spot that feels so warm and welcoming. While so many LA spots are opening up that sell, like, 4 options of funky wines and calling themselves a wine bar, Covell feels like the real deal and has been for a while.
Hailey C — Google review
Had a good stop-in at Covell with friends. We found an open table and enjoyed the ordering process - the bartenders are so kind and happy to allow you to taste the different wines. I ended up rocking their IPA on tap (Almanac brewing from Alameda) but they had a vast selection of wines + craft beers in cans as well. Good vibes, good lighting, soft music, perfect for a chill evening with friends!

I hesitate to even give a rating as I dont want to blow up this spot. The bar tenders are knowledgeable and friendly. They make wine approachable, and the space it great. It's big enough but not so much that you will get lost in the shuffle. Love the rotating drink menu, but if you like consistency, maybe this isn't for you

This place is the tits. Amazing wine stellar staff sexy dark vibes but not unattainable! Really cute and fun. The food is *~fine*~ but always good for a little snacky whilst drinking

We had a 5 cheese board and 2 glasses of wine after tip over $100. We ordered at the bar and food was served at the table. The cheese selection was good, but the plating was minimal. I asked the bus boy for water, and he said ok and then proceeded to sit within view and scan his phone. I had to get the water myself from the bar. After I requested the water the buss boy tried to jump in front and get the water for me. Bad service practices, especially for such an expensive place. The chocolate dessert was dense and just ok. Bar tender allowed us to taste the wine before serving however the taste was tiny. Glad I tried but wouldn't return. The wine was good, small pour.

One of my fav places in LA. You get to try multiple options of what wine they have open to get something that you like. Always a great time and good vibes. Go early if you want more personalized service and to avoid a crowd. Knowledgeable staff.
Cassandra C — Google review
The wine is good, service is good, and they know how to pour a proper glass of wine. Easy 5 stars. Where they can still improve: food options. Heavy bar food. Cheese and carbs mostly. It's good, but some lighter, lean meat and veggie options would be great.

Located in downtown Los Angeles, Library Bar is a popular destination for cocktail enthusiasts. Nestled in the historic Roosevelt building, this intimate speakeasy boasts book-lined walls and a sophisticated ambiance. The bar offers handcrafted cocktails made with fresh, seasonal ingredients and provides a cozy setting with leather couches. During happy hour from Monday to Friday, guests can enjoy gastropub bites along with their drinks. The bar manager's attention to detail ensures that guests have an exceptional experience.
I love a bar with a concept and was obsessed over the library theme. Though not exactly hidden, the walls of books and intimate, cozy seating felt akin to a speakeasy. The contrast of the classic study aesthetic against the neon, almost cyberpunk-esque bar was surprisingly harmonious. Best of all, on a Thursday night at 7pm, this place was barely populated - which was wonderful because I got prime choice of seat next to the bookcase on the sofa and could take as many pictures as I wanted. The bartender was so nice and helpful in navigating my “reading list” for the night. My first “novel” was the “Adventure of Blackberry Finn,” a blackberry infused vodka with lemon and blackberry smush. On said adventure with Finn, I fell off the raft and was doggy paddling in the vodka. Some cocktails coyly hide their spirits as they lure you into a sense of false security. Library Bar cocktails are not like that. They don’t hide their spirits - they’re leading the pep rally. They are upfront and honest about what they contain. Take a sip and it’s undeniably VODKA. Despite that, I still thought it tasted good. Sweet, fresh, and bang for your buck with how strong it was. The burger was quite yummy for something served at a bar. Maybe (definitely) I was already quite tipsy at this point, but I liked the burger. My friend thought it was kinda dry, but I didn’t. The fries were also nice and fluffy. I do wish they didn’t run out of the poutine… that sounded good. It probably would’ve helped soak up the alcohol too. To be honest, I thought the literary drink names were so cute I couldn’t resist ordering a second drink. Of Ice and Mezcal was, as the bartender described it, almost a straight up spirit. Sipping on it was actually quite pleasant - the smoky taste of the Mezcal paired well with the brightness from the grapefruit bitters. But it was definitely too much for my second drink of the night (I really should have listened oops). I would definitely come back! I see myself stopping by after work to bask in the ambiance and enjoy a nice drink - especially on weeknights on their off hours. What should I “read” next hehe…

Cool moment and feel in the place. I am a bit of a drink snob so I was a tad let down with some things but I stress that's just me. No reflection on overall time at this place.

chill atmosphere, friendly service, and good drinks. seating at the bar has 1 television you can watch sports on but they also accommodate people who aren't interested with a tucked away lounge area of couches and such, which i appreciate. small cozy place with good vibes. i recommend.

Ngl those fries changed my life lol. Super good bar food! Love this place. The atmosphere is great, there's really nice clean bathrooms, drinks are great, and the bartenders were so friendly. Music choices were superb, and not too loud. Small and cozy, so probably better for small groups or individual hangouts. It wasn't very busy when my friend & I stopped by, and if I could, I would become a regular, haha.

I’ve driven past Library Bar for years and always told myself I’d stop in there finally made it last night, and I’m glad I did. The drink menu is creative and fun, with cocktails named after books (with clever twists on the titles), which really adds to the charm. The atmosphere is relaxed but stylish, and the décor ties perfectly into the library theme, it feels cozy, unique, and different from your typical bar. It’s the kind of spot where you can enjoy a well-crafted drink and actually take in the vibe around you. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth the stop if you’re in the area. I’ll be back to work my way through more of the book-inspired cocktails.

I just went for happy hour. Had the fish sandwich, which surprised me how good it was. Very limited food menu but atmosphere and drinks were great. Don't know why I never had been to this place before. Kind of have to looking for it to find from the street.

The Library Bar is the perfect drink spot in DTLA. They have some small bites (the chips and French Onion Dip were 10/10 no notes). And they make craft cocktails as well as any classics. I believe they may have music on the weekends but either way if you’re in the area it’s a solid place to grab a drink and hang out.

Yeah I was not expecting this. I figured after a flight I would come around the corner and grab a small bite and a drink to relax….this exceeds my expectations. They should NOT be allowed to sell these darn pickles. I think I bit my finger twice because it was in that house made ranch. Yeah….definitely will be back before I leave the city!!!!

Frolic Room is a historic dive bar located in Hollywood, known for its no-frills atmosphere and adorned with photos of movie stars. Open since the 1930s, it is situated next to The Pantages Theatre and has been frequented by a diverse crowd including Silver Lake musicians, Hollywood executives, and theatergoers. The bar's Art Deco style dates back to the Prohibition era and has attracted notable figures like author Charles Bukowski.
The ultimate of Hollywood drinking spots. Where they open daily with the same energy they have for decades.I love the Hirschfeld drawings of Hollywood stars of yesteryear! We go here before hitting up the subway there or as a pregame to Lost Property / LP Vinyl Bar. Frolic Room also sells merchandise and I am happy to say I am a proud owner of a shirt and love it!

Welcoming, No Frills bar! While walking down Hollywood Blvd, I stopped to look in and this Friendly bouncer (pictured) said, "go on in and check it out," glad we did. Fun people, neat lights on the ceiling that I now know have been featured in movies. If you want a good, inexpensive adult beverage amongst good people, stop by the Frolis Room on Hollywood Blvd.

Went here on a Saturday morning. Late morning and fortunate to find parking in front of the bar. Please wasn't busy. No frills about the esthetics of the bar. The sign is classic Hollywood, but very small inside. Beer selection wasn't great, so you may want to stick to cocktails. Overall, don't expect anything amazing. The establishment is historic, but small. Very dim-lit. If you find parking check it out. Otherwise, you could find other spots.

A must-do experience when you are in Hollywood. It’s iconic. Always crowded before a show at the Pantages so getting a seat can be a challenge. We managed to snag a table after a few minutes and the staff quickly removed the prior customers glasses and cleaned the table, which was appreciated. I’m particular about my Negroni and the bartender made it perfectly.

Cool little bar, not a lot of room, but I think this is the type of spot you pop in on the way some where else so not a lounge type of bar. We met up with friends here before a concert and its was nice. Bar tenders were very attentive and made sure we were taken care of while we were there. I ordered an espresso martini, superb! Almost got another one but didn't wanna go overboard before the concert.

The video is still circulating of your bouncer beating a man outside of your establishment, with his belt! Were charges filed? Was he fired? I am going to keep circulating this online until I know your organization did the right thing!

If history is your thing, then you’ll enjoy feeling the vibe and reading about the stories of this place on your phone. The drinks were good - Old Fashioned for me - and the setting feels untouched since the 60s and the days Sinatra and buddies would pop in at the Oscars intermission next door. But if you’re in company who just want a drink in a “nice” bar you might want to take them elsewhere and save this joint for yourself. I was happy to have my last drink in LA here.

Margot is a rooftop restaurant located in Culver City, offering a modern California twist on Italian cuisine. The menu, curated by executive chef Mike Williams, features plant-based dishes, seafood-heavy pastas, and proteins with coastal influences. The restaurant's patio has a romantic ambiance with sunset views and offers market-driven shareable plates of coastal Mediterranean-meets-Californian cuisine.
Sat outside but it was pleasant under the shaded umbrellas. Server was fantastic and attentive. This place caters to more business but on the weekends it is a mixed crowd. We had plates to share. The tuna and hamachi starters were great but hamachi was tastier. The charred broccoli was great. I think the only thing missing was bits of bacon. Meatball sandwich was tasty as well as the golden beets which matched well with the burrata cheese. Overall a great experience. Sadly they did not carry a Bloody Mary.

The atmosphere is amazing. Whether you come in the day or come at night, the views and overall feel of the place are relaxing. At night, you can sit around the fire, enjoy a few drinks, and chat it up with family or friends. Their service is also amazing. They are always attentive and aim to please. I wish I could give this place 5 stars, but the food is just okay and small portions. I like the atmosphere so I'll keep coming back

Margot is solid- yohre paying more for the vibe than anything else (Aesop soap in the bathroom is a clear indicator of this). Food is fine but nothing to write home about. Same with the service. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon but I don't regret going by any means- solidly enjoyable. Small menu so I'm sure you can't really go wrong with anything.

Nice place for a date night. Fancy. Indoor and outdoor seating on the roof. Views are of Culver City buildings & the metro train, not a garden, but it was still nice. Salad "small plate" starter was plenty to share for an appetizer. Pasta main dish was also a good size. The salmon main course was a bit small, but as expected for a fancy place. The drinks were fabulous . Have vegetarian items if you eat dairy/eggs/ pasta, but not too many vegan items.
Cigal S — Google review
I absolutely love the atmosphere at this place! To get to the rooftop restaurant, you take an elevator, and even the decor inside the elevator is chic and stylish. It really sets the tone for what’s to come. When we arrived, we came at an off hour, and there wasn’t anyone at the host stand, even though the restaurant was empty. We had to flag someone down, but once we did, they seated us right away. The menu was concise, with fewer lunch options, but the choices were high quality. I ordered the salmon with a tequila-based cocktail, and the pairing was perfect. Although we thought the salmon could have been cooked a little longer, the rice-like mixture and aïoli sauce that accompanied it were absolutely delicious. One downside was the bathrooms. They’re unisex with individual stalls, each having a toilet, a urinal, and a sink. I didn’t think this was the best choice, as the urinals tend to have a stronger odor. I wasn’t too keen on the fact that I had to deal with the smell while using the sink inside the stall. There are sinks outside of the stalls, which would have avoided this issue, but I didn’t realize that at the time.

We went to Margot for brunch and it did not disappoint. The vibes and views alone are worth the visit, but the food and service sealed the deal for us. Our waiter was great! He was really friendly and gave us a great rec: the French toast, which was next level, possibly the best in the city! We also had the oysters and arancini, and both were delish. If you’re looking for a bougie weekend brunch spot or cute dinner spot overlooking the city at sunset, Margot nails it. Highly recommend and definitely coming back!

We recently held our anniversary party at Margot, and could not be happier with our choice. The planning process was extremely easy due to Margot’s wonderful event director, Sarah. She was flexible and accommodating to our every request, and always present if we had questions. The GM, Parker, was super helpful on the day as well. The night of our event, everything was in place, ready to go, with no issues. They even set out my flower arrangements for me. The staff was so friendly, anticipated everyone’s needs, and nobody wanted for anything the whole night. All our guests talked about how friendly and helpful all members of staff were. The food and drinks were delicious and crowd pleasing. I could not say enough good things about how beautiful and clean the interior of the restaurant is. I was shocked that for such a large event, not a single thing went wrong or off schedule. Everything was literally perfect! Thank you SO MUCH Margot team!
Madeleine S — Google review
Margot is a gorgeous restaurant. 🤩 It was a bit tricky for us to find, if you enter from Landmark, it’s in the far right back corner of the plaza. The service was impeccable, and I’ll reiterate what I started with, the place is beautiful and welcoming. I went with a client for a business lunch but I can imagine how fun this place would be on a weekend. Now, I will say this. The food was good, but it’s very overpriced. You’re definitely paying for the beauty of the place and the soap in the bathroom. Salad $30. Water $10. Want a refill on your iced tea? You’re paying $6 each time. 😐 Would I go back? I would with clients but not on my own. Too 🤑

We came here specifically during the Black Lagoon pop-up. It honestly was just the same type of service with some added Halloween decorations. Lucky for them I LOVE Halloween decorations. We didn’t try food and just stuck to drinks but we liked them all. I tried a new IPA and everyone in my party tried various new drinks and all really enjoyed them. Great decorations indeed and will come back during the non-Halloween things!

Atmosphere 6/10 Cool, dark atmosphere with a main focus on the bar area. Back area looks cool. The crowd gets a bit creepy and weird towards late hours… might be an area-related thing. Bar seating is very limited because of the counter-order concept. Drinks 4/10 Recommendation: - Menu is QR only, which is a minus point. The drinks are super basic. I didn’t taste any “twist” which they advertise on the menu for classic drinks. Glassware is very basic, almost cheap. Cool coasters. Service 3/10 Basically no service. Everything is self-service or upon request. For drinks, you have to line up at the bar and wait for your turn to order. Average prices for LA.

First time going here It's a bar that's open on Monday nights. Didn't expect it to be fun but this place was a surprise. We arrived at 7:30 p.m. The bar is in a cozy style. Around 9-10 PM, there is another bar inside where a DJ is playing. There are more people than expected, dancing and having fun. Drinks taste good. I should probably go back again, unfortunately it's hard to find parking. Go straight and park on the road.

This was a real cool low key spot, music was a good choice, the main room is lounge/restaurant style & you can have a conversation without yelling too loud. No cover & it’s a mixed crowd with lax dress code. The inside room is lot more of a club area with a disco ball. Probably one of my favorite spots for more of a chill spot to bring friends & meet singles. Two bars so getting a drink wasn’t too long. I highly recommend stopping by this spot.

Nice open patio space that is still covered, with a wonderful view of the city surrounding it. Super fun bar with great atmosphere, drinks, and a great crowd. We're not big country fans but we do love the live band. They do a mix of traditional country songs and classic rock covers, and there's some mainstream pop they play over the speakers when the band takes a break. The first time we went, we got there about 9pm and there was no line. The second time, we got there around 10pm and the line was pretty long but moved fairly quickly. We were in the bar after maybe 25-30 minutes.

Interesting rooftop bar with a fun western/desert ambiance. Mostly a tequila based cocktail menu, the drinks are well made, there is no table service and the seating is all over the roof. One friendly bar tender and one not so much. The taco cart was closed between 7:30 - 8pm at the height of dinner time so the one guy running it could take a break?? Ok...but his break didn't seem to help his pissy attitude. The chicken taco meat was curry seasoned. The carne asada meat was also a strange seasoning that I couldn't quite place. Not terrible but definitely not expected. Would've been nice to know in advance before spending money on it. Decided to eat elsewhere. Amazing sunset and Hollywood hills views!

Worst drink I ever had in my life. It’s probably cause I didn’t have crazy blue hair or piercings. I specifically told the bar tender I wanted a drink that doesn’t taste strongly of alcohol that also looks pretty. She literally gave me a drink with straight whiskey. Tramp Stamp Grannies was formerly known as and now occupies what was ‘The Beauty Bar’ but has come a long way after being curated by Daren Criss and we love that and love that we have a little tiny bit of New York that we can walk to. They are open Thursdays Fridays & Saturdays. They have a piano and a piano player and reminds me of Marie Crisis in New York but with a solid Hollywood Art Deco-esque overlay. Patti LuPone actually popped into this place several weeks ago and we hope she does again as id love to sing with her from any given Sondheim musical of her choice. Thank you Daren for this incredible place. It makes me proud to support our HollyHood.

Awesome place. Great music, drinks were well poured, definitely got your money's worth. We went for my birthday and it was everything I wanted it to be!

Interesting place... I would say a very LA/theatre place. They have live music on a side and if you are lucky you'll get somebody famous singing/playing with the regulars. It gets packed on a friday up until 12am or 1am... I got there around 11 and didn't pay a cover. Drinks are good and as pricey as any other place in LA... I believe u can reserve tables... and make sure to tip the musicians!

OyBar, formerly known as The Bar At Oyster House, is a new addition to Studio City's bar scene. Despite its dimly-lit and slightly dingy atmosphere, it has become a popular neighborhood drinking hole run by the Jeffs Table crew. The menu offers a variety of bar bites that have received positive feedback. The low-lighting and cozy ambiance make it an ideal spot for late-night drinks or a casual date night.
Exceptional Food. Very Cool Ambience. Extensive menu with choices for everyone. Each dish had such amazing flavors with elevated ingredients befitting a real culinary experience curated by Chef Jeff. The relaxed atmosphere features a long bar and mood lighting; perfect for a romantic date night, or gathering of friends. Service was attentive and swift. We will be back. Oy! , so many more dishes to try! Favorites: crisp artichoke, smoked trout, scallop crudo, hot pepper honey chicken, Thai herb sea bass! Delish!

Hipster dive bar with fantastic food and drinks. Oy Bar has been on my list for quite sometime and so glad I finally got to check it out. Very unassuming from the outside and frankly most of the inside. It’s definitely a dive bar in most aspects but the menu and the vibe - we sat next to two actresses, one pretty well known. Highly recommend making a reservation because we came on a Wednesday and only got a table because we got there super early. The website says walk in only but they’re on Resy. They have a fantastic spirits selection and their specialty cocktails were super creative and fun. My favorite was the Lightworks which has Reposado and Dill pickle brine. It has the perfect amount of “pickle” to make it interesting but is otherwise very well balanced. Even if you’re not a big drinker, come for the food! Much like the cocktails, the food menu is eclectic, innovative, and delicious. One of our friends is a vegan and it was also very vegan friendly. Of the items we tried: Mushroom chili oil salad - 5/5 new item on the menu, umami bomb with slight hint of spice that anyone can handle, vegan Spicy noodz - 5/5 perfectly bouncy noodles with a rich, almost earthy tomato garlic sauce and chili oil, also not too spicy, vegan if you tell them to put the parmesan on the side, you can also add shrimp, we didn’t Chicken Donburi - 4.7/5 honestly don’t remember the dish well besides the fact that it was tasty Wagyu quesadillas - 4/5 great crust and dipping sauce There were plenty of other items on the menu that I’d come back to try. I think in general they rotate the drink and food items often so the menu is always fresh and new. Service was great, our host sat us down even though one or two of our party were still on their way. Our waiter was super chill and friendly and the chef came by at one point to talk to us.

So warm and inviting. Amazing service. Delicious and honest food that you’ll definitely think about and want to come back for I come here time and time again. Love it!
Kristel A — Google review
They do take reservations here on Resy despite their website saying they are walk-in only. The scallops sharing plate was excellent. I also got the spicy noodz with shrimp - everything was great except there was no hint of spice at all in the dish. Ambiance was nice and very unassuming from the outside
Orawan S — Google review
This place is delicious! Such a find in the valley. No reservations but if you show up at opening you’re guaranteed to get a seat. A lot of the dishes had an Asian feel a few with a kick of heat. The cocktails were wonderful. The bartenders attentive and friendly. You would think you’re entering into a dive bar but this place is anything but. 10/10 all around.
E A — Google review
As good as it gets…an unassuming street presence leads to a bar full of character and class. Bartenders who sling killer, unpretentious yet curated drinks, an eclectic menu with clear attention to detail, and an ambience that invites you to settle in. This spot is dialed in.

Hands down the most unprofessional dining experience I’ve ever had. We were seated, ordered, and were actually enjoying ourselves — until the staff told us we had to leave because the chef’s friend showed up and they wanted our table. Yeah, you read that right. Paying customers, forced out mid-meal so the chef could play favorites. Absolutely disgusting behavior. Doesn’t matter how decent the food is when the restaurant treats customers like disposable placeholders. If you want to gamble your night out on whether you’ll be valued or shoved aside for the chef’s buddies, then by all means, eat here. Otherwise, avoid this place like the plague.

The Ruby Fruit, located in Silver Lake, is LA's first lesbian bar in about a decade. The venue offers a lively atmosphere with partying that spills out onto the sidewalk and parking lot. The establishment also serves excellent diner classics, making it an ideal spot for lunchtime when the comfort-food menu is extensive. The space features bright pink walls and blonde wood, creating a casual and stylish ambiance suitable for various occasions, from casual drinks to big dinners.
Very cute bar in Silver Lake! Lesbian friendly which is such a treat - wish there was more places like this around! We watched the WNBA Playoffs whilst enjoying beers, French fries and grilled chicken sandwich- heaven!

what a way to start my journey into queer joints! my friend and i ordered the mozzarella sticks, bistro burger, steak, and an olive oil cake! everything was berry delicious and the vibes were immaculate! they even had some card games you can borrow while u eat/drink. the staff were all so kind and helpful! “order at the bar!”

Loved this place. Stopped in for a late lunch, shared the popcorn chicken with friends and had an ice tea for myself. Such a fun atmosphere and lots of love for a fun lesbian/queer establishment where there’s 1) food and 2) lots of non-alcoholic drinks. Highly recommend if you don’t drink but want a bit of that gay-establishment experience!
Teddie B — Google review
Amazing and calm dining experience with enjoyable food and cocktails. I am thankful for this space as there is not many like it. Food is fresh and delicious. I wouldn’t go here super hungry but it’s a great place for a romantic or lunch dates. The salad was sooooo good! Highly recommend with meat and not! I didn’t know the vegan popcorn chicken was mushroom 😭 personally not a mushroom fan. They felt a lil greasy but still yummy paired with the shoestring fries. Vegan dog was great as well and would order again. My fiancé enjoyed the wings and the chicken in the salad. We both agree that the drinks could be a lil heavier (lol bad or good, not sure) but they are still well crafted cocktails and will be coming back again for the drinks and food! The bar and atmosphere itself is CUTE! Enjoy the colors and music going on. Not loud and was able to enjoy conversation with my girl. They have games as well to help newer friends or couples break the ice. Great place for friends, lovers, and going alone. For larger groups of like 5+ I think it would be respectful to call ahead of time as the space is smallish and there isn’t many large group tables This is the echo park area and you just gotta take that with a grain of salt. The space is not very large, but the staff are courteous and the programming is pleasant. I went on a Saturday and there was open bingo (with no cover required), with some drag performances during the break. Would definitely recommend to others. One of the most enjoyable lesbian bar experiences I’ve had so far!

Chose to bring 20 friends on Sunday afternoon to celebrate my birthday and could not have been MORE pleased and thankful for the whole experience. The atmosphere, the service, the food and the wine and drinks were all so phenomenal. We were given such lovely treatment and it ended up being one of my happiest birthdays in recent memory all because my friends and I were so warmly welcomed and encouraged to make ourselves at home. Get yourself the fries, the hot dog, and the pimento cheese and house made crackers and bring your friends and get a yummy bottle of ANYTHING. (Shoutout to the house sangria!) LOVE IT! Just the best experience and thank you SO much!!

Absolutely ecstatic to find a femme-centric queer space! Even more exciting is that is actually really good in multiple aspects. The environment is chic and beautifully decorated and the food was wonderful. Can’t wait to come back and I hope more people find this place. Big bonus in LA: PARKING. ETA: I went during lunch time on a weekday which may have contributed to the ease in parking and welcoming feel of the venue. Will add info once I have a chance to visit on a busy night.

Nestled in the charming neighborhood of Altadena, Good Neighbor Bar is a delightful cocktail haven that promises an unforgettable experience. This stylish establishment, crafted by the same talented team behind Everson Royce Bar and Vamos Vamos, boasts a chic yet relaxed atmosphere perfect for gathering with friends or enjoying some solo time. While there’s no food menu available inside, you can often find a pop-up serving delicious bites from the adjacent parking lot on weekends.
Unassuming, friendly, but not shy with a menu rich in interesting and intriguing mixes. A true gem in the Altadena neighborhood, unique in its location and what it offers. The most welcoming staff - thanks Miguel, Lani, and Art, for your hospitality! A place grounded on community and infused with sharing good times - and a great music playlist in the background. The drive up here will truly be worth it!

I recently visited Good Neighbor Bar and had a genuinely great time. The atmosphere is casual, stylish, and incredibly welcoming—true to its name, it really feels like a spot designed for the community. I met up with a few friends from the neighborhood, and it turned out to be the perfect place to catch up. The vibe is laid-back and unpretentious, with just the right mix of buzz and comfort. It’s the kind of bar where conversations flow easily, whether you’re with old friends or making new ones at the bar. I tried a French beer for the first time and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it—crisp, flavorful, and a nice departure from my usual go-to. The drinks were both affordable and thoughtfully selected, and the bartenders were knowledgeable without being overbearing. What really stood out was the service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and created a welcoming vibe that made the whole evening feel easy and enjoyable. If you’re in Altadena and looking for a spot that feels like home—where the drinks are good and the company even better—Good Neighbor Bar is definitely worth a visit.

Super laid back bar and it’s the perfect environment if you’re looking for somewhere to chill on a weekend without crazy amount of people. It was peaceful with small groups of party enjoying a good vibe. They don’t have any food but they do allow uber eating or bringing your own take out to enjoy the meal in, which brings this bar to their own style. Unlike other bars where they provide some pricey food. Drink prices were reasonable and isn’t crazy expensive. They also have a wine and spirit store next door to the bar entrance which I think it’s cool to see so you’re not intimidated to have to go into the bar to enjoy a cup of good drink, you can bring it home to enjoy. Will need to visit again for another chill night.
Nat A — Google review
Unpretentious, yet stylish atmosphere - a great option for date night, meeting with friends, or flying solo. The drink recipes are as thoughtful as the people & environment. Everyone here embodies the spirit of being a "good neighbor" and it's extremely comfortable and heartwarming to be part of. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and very welcoming. Prices are consistent with the LA area, but with quality guaranteed. Overall, Good Neighbor Bar is a real community gem.

Stopped by for happy hour and had a great time. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming—definitely lives up to the name. Drinks were both affordable and well-made. I tried a French beer for the first time and loved it, and the Old Fashioned was spot-on. Service was excellent—friendly and helpful staff who made the experience even better. A solid neighborhood spot worth checking out.

Had an amazing time here catching up with a good friend after enjoying the Thursday night wine tasting next door. Loved the décor and ambiance. Very clean and minimal without being boring. They played good music all night, lots of oldies, funk and soul, which is right up my alley. I was impressed by the exceptional service provided by Miguel behind the bar, who walked us through the menu and curated our experience. He is very obviously an professional of his craft. Thanks for showing us a good time, Miguel! We'll be back with more friends.

Cannot say enough good things about this neighborhood treasure-the first location to get a liquor license in Altadena since 1984, I think I heard? The cocktail menu is inventive and delicious. The servers and bartenders are always warm and a joy to spend time with.
Stephanie L — Google review
This is an excellent neighborhood bar. The nondescript exterior belies an atmospheric and comfortable space within. Bartenders are friendly. Drinks are well-made and elegantly presented. I don't believe there is a kitchen, but complementary popcorn is available. The parking lot is eponymously surrounded by a good-neighbor fence, and contains a moving memorial to the devastation of the Eaton Fire in the form of a map indicating lives lost and structures destroyed or damaged. Do give this place, and other businesses affected by the aftermath of the fire, your patronage.

Cocktail bar
Nestled in the intriguing Cahuenga Pass, "Night on Earth" is a cocktail bar that promises an unforgettable experience without unnecessary frills. This latest venture from the creators of Thunderbolt opened its doors recently and has quickly become a must-visit spot. As you step through its somewhat concealed entrance, you're greeted by a vibrant atmosphere featuring neon lights and a sleek bar top that feels almost otherworldly.
Branching out from the highly acclaimed cocktail bar Thunderbolt, Night on Earth recently opened on December 13th in a strip mall on Cahuenga Boulevard at the edge of Studio City. Me and my friend entered a nondescript door to reveal an effervescent backlit bar and lounge with neon trim. Quickly, we were greeted by an affable bartender and provided with cocktail menus. Right away, you could tell from the descriptions of each cocktail that the beverage program had a great deal of thought and creativity put into each drink. I started off with the OKAYOKAY, which has mango, mango distillate, campari, shochu, miso, and sherry. As Wes, the bartender explained, the mango is prepared dry to restrain it from overpowering the mix. As a result, it has a subtle flavor of mango that blends well with the rest of the ingredients. For the follow-up drink, me and my friend both tried the very curious concoction called the Earthling Standard containing smoked sunchoke & honey spirit, cucumber, cilantro distillate, orgeat, lime and pastis. It is one of the most creative cocktails I've ever tried. We both agreed it was unequivocally superb. Unique and delicious. The third and last cocktail of the evening for me was the Blockbuster, which includes movie theater butter bourbon, maillard and salt. It seemed quite appropo for the area, which overlooks NBC Universal and is not far from Warner Bros. It has plenty of spirit potency, and you can definitely taste the subtle infusion of buttered popcorn. There is a vending machine with a variety of packaged Japanese snacks but no prepared food program as of yet. Night on Earth is definitely going to take off once word gets around that they have some of the best cocktails in town. Recommend checking it out before there's a line out the door.

So very excited to have a crafty and unique cocktail bar in the valley! Five out of five on service cocktails, atmosphere environment, lighting music… Literally everything! Brian and the rest of the staff were very attentive and even did some dealers choice for our group. We will absolutely be back! Thank you for adding such a great cocktail bar tour our neighborhood!!! Also Love you can bring outside food in as they do not serve food. The spot next-door was impressing impeccable!
Afrothiti M — Google review
We’re incredibly lucky to have such a standout cocktail bar in town—this place is a rare gem. The drinks are some of the most inventive and technically refined I’ve ever had, with bold, surprising flavor profiles that feel both sophisticated and approachable. Every cocktail is crafted with care and precision, yet nothing about the experience feels overworked or forced—just effortlessly excellent. The atmosphere hits a sweet spot that’s hard to find. The retrowave decor is stylish without trying too hard—cool, minimal, and full of character. The soundtrack leans into dark ’80s tones, setting a moody, cinematic backdrop that elevates the entire space. With a live DJ curating the vibe and drinks that push boundaries, this bar isn’t just a place to grab a cocktail—it’s a place you remember. Can’t recommend it enough.
Assaf S — Google review
Disappointing. Arrived at 7 on a Saturday night, bar was totally dead. All cocktails are pre-mixed so no chance to watch and learn and the barmen didn’t offer much chat. They did sell mini cocktails which was helpful but if the drinks are - ‘Some of the best cocktails in the US’ then this has to be based on technical factors not the joy of mixology. Bar was no busier when we left after 8 feeling disappointed and possibly victim to a smart organised online review manipulation!
Jonathan T — Google review
Fantastic cocktail program and genuinely warm hospitality. I loved the Skip The Brine cocktail. The vibe is futuristic disco meets cozy lounge; retro glam with just the right amount of edge. It might be just a little too moody though, we had to use our phone flashlights to read the menu…which made us feel about fifteen years older than we are. The location is a bit off the beaten path so fingers crossed they catch on fast. A place this cool deserves a crowd.

The decor features a delightful mix of tropical and nautical elements, including a bubbling fountain that adds to its allure.
Adorable new classy cocktail bar. Very well crafted unique selection. Smoking patio and the most gorgeous decor. Music is romantic/ chill. Come on down!

Any spot that devotes an entire menu page to each cocktail already has my respect (as if my respect is worth a damn) Drinks were strong and unique (like my loving wife, my one and only!) and while I didn’t LOVE them (but I do love my wife), I appreciated the creativity. Anise in the Midsommar drink was a bit overpowering and I’m not the biggest fan of licorice. Sesame highball was perfect if you love sesame. But I’ll come back and try a couple others. Most importantly? FREE popcorn! 🍿 no but seriously I went up and got like 9 little boats of refills and people started to look at me with real judgy eyes. SHUT UP and let me enjoy my popcorn. It’s all I have. Things in 2025 have been going pretty terrible personally I don’t wanna get into it but the vibes here are cool!
Cordero R — Google review
A cocktail bar that’s hidden in the city grid, but it charmed me real quick. The vibe is retro-funky with CDs lining the walls and a quiet lounge feel. My first drink—an herbaceous gin concoction—was smooth and surprising. You feel like you’re invited to a private party no one else knows about. A mellow spot to unwind and linger
Jamal — Google review
Completely falsely named 😂 I walked in here as a 100 foot distance neighbor, and an obviously (done up) gay male neighbor at that, I was hoping to make this a regular spot to stop in for drinks and socializing… seeing two female bartenders I immediately felt safe and comfortable, but that completely changed when we started to interact. I was treated like a problem from the moment I walked through the door, was condescended to by the bar patrons as well as the 2 bartenders because I assume they thought I was hitting on them? It was an extremely odd vibe, and every time I attempted to engage in conversation or even ask questions like “cash or credit tip preferred?” I was gawked at like some strange spectacle. I had high hopes for this place based on reviews but they are absolutely NOT gay friendly especially for single gays…
Loris L — Google review
Real Charmer lives up to the name—it’s a busy, cute late-night spot with tons of personality. Their take on the martini was absolutely delicious, and I loved the creativity and phrasing on their drink menu. It’s playful, well-crafted, and just a fun place to be. Perfect for a nightcap with character!

10/10 Negroni 100/10 daiquiri (literally how did you do that). We are coming back until we taste our way through the menu, everything was insane! All of the little touches (we were geeking over ice cubes - what). Immaculate vibes, staff was so nice. We'll def be back earlier to beat the crowd and to try out the musubi x martini situation :) this is the only stupid photo I got but I'm adding it anyways for engagement and bc I loved the idea of bad mouth even tho rumplemintz is terrifying
