Bolan Bar in Alvor is a popular spot known for its great music, vibrant atmosphere, and delicious drinks, particularly the caipirinhas. The bar is adorned with unique artwork and posters, creating a cool and laid-back vibe that attracts both locals and tourists. Despite some changes to their caipirinha recipe, Bolan remains a top choice for those seeking the best cocktails in town.
Super nice bar! Run by father and sons. Best margaritas I had in Algarve. Chill vibes.

Great music and atmosphere, for all reggae lovers must see if u there
Déjà V — Google review
The staff here are outstanding at their jobs. Sitting at the end of the bar and seeing how they mix and serve drinks is a experience and how they interact with each other as they prepare the drinks for everyone. And price wise is fair for location. Keep up the amazing work and highly recommend.
Joseph M — Google review
Best bar in Alvor. Covered in cool artwork and posters, this unique bar is the place to be, with a good chilled atmosphere and even better music. The best cocktails in Alvor, by far. Get the Caipirinha, you won’t remember it…I mean, regret it! 🍹🤌🏼
S W — Google review
Came here for best caipirinha in town and it wasn’t ama e thing probably because they changed Caisaxa from pitu to something else. Big plus they were in a rush as the queue was too big as this bar still very popular among tourists in Alvor
Vi K — Google review
Bolan was unexpected surprise on the inside. The bar has posters and art all over of different Black artists, leaders and notables. The staff was nice too. You have to stop by to look around.

Caniço is a renowned beach restaurant located in Algarve, specifically built into a cave in the cliff face below the Prainha resort. Accessible via a tunnel and elevator, it offers breathtaking ocean views from its dining area. The menu features traditional Portuguese cuisine with an emphasis on fresh fish and seafood, complemented by a good selection of wines.
This place is truly iconic! It’s surprising to see such a low rating, but like many long-standing spots, it probably had its ups and downs over the years. That said, we found it to be a cozy, cool restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere and absolutely breathtaking views from the terrace. We enjoyed some great starters and had rice with Rodovalho (turbot) as our main dish — it was simply delicious and full of flavor. Our local friends, Sonia and Paulo, introduced us to Dario, who has been working here for 20 years — such a kind and genuine person who made our visit even more special with his warm service. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re in the area!
Alex K — Google review
This place is very entertaining and a wonderful location off the beach of our hotel where they show video of fish swimming projected on a beach stone wall, display their fresh catch of the day and take your order quickly. However, you must be patient because there is only one grill master who prepares each individual plate and took our meal almost 50 minutes before it was delivered to our table. I had the Seabass and my wife had a grouper, but truly it was delicious and we give it two thumbs up. Unfortunately, when the bill came, there was a harsh misunderstanding that the amount on the menu shows each individual fish priced per gram for example ours was 9.50 per gram which totaled to $48 per fish so when we got the bill it was 5 times more than what we thought. Be careful and ask questions on how they will bill you.
John — Google review
Amazing experience. We recommend it to all our friends. Great fresh food. Great view. Unique experience in a restaurant built nested between cliffs by one of the most amazing beaches in the world.
Enzo S — Google review
I found this place from google maps so made a reservation a month in advance. The view is spectacular! Location 10/10. I can see how some of the reviews are mixed , for us we had a lovely meal. Loved how the “catch of the day” was on a platter to view before being cooked. However the pricing and menu was hard to understand, everything in €/ kgs but unsure to what you were paying for afterwards. It’s not a cheap meal and some would say it not worth it. Our fish cooked perfect . Not a great portion size but happy all the same. The house rose was delicious. Every table was booked and some staff a little slow . Would come again for sure. €170 for 3 meals and 6 drinks .
Sarah M — Google review
Rating this as a 3 star, but this could be due to the time of year (late August). When we visited the shore was filled with seaweed so the view wasn’t great. Due to all of the seaweed there was also an absurd amount of flies and sand flees. When our food arrived we were swatting away flies like crazy, but this could be an anomaly and not common for this restaurant so take that with a grain of salt. Our waiter was very kind and knowledgeable. He was extremely attentive and really loved to explain the different fish and choices at the restaurant. I thought the food was ok, but not for the price. The arroz de marisco was good. The black spaghetti and rock fish were very mediocre and had no flavour. For the price, I would not return.
Matthew M — Google review
Absolutely outstanding!! Amazing food, amazing service, amazing view! By far, the best meal I had on my holiday. I chose from a selection of the fish that had been caught that day and had the sea bream. For such a simple dish, it tasted so fresh and flavourful, the vegetables were beautifully cooked and somehow even the salt was delicious and added a depth of flavour to the dish (I think it was some kind of rock salt from Tavira). I also had the pistachio dessert which was pistachio cream and wafers encased in pistachio chocolate which was a sublime way to round off the meal - it was decadent but also lovely and light! The staff were also so lovely, attentive and knowledgeable! If I had stayed nearer the area, I would have eaten there every day! It's such a shame this place doesn't have a higher star rating on Google reviews - I think it must be old management or old reviews skewing the score but honestly, you won't regret dining here - it was such a wonderful and gastronomically pleasurable experience! I highly recommend!

We had the greatest time at Caniço! Starting the review with a HUGE SHOUTOUT to our new friend Francisco. We had just gotten engaged, and even though he appeared to be the busiest man in the restaurant, he still took the time to make sure our experience was special. He was the star of the night making sure we were seated at an absolutely incredible table, and everything was on-point from the service to the food and wine to the incredible views. This will be a dinner we will never forget, and the staff at Caniço were the ones to make it happen. We will absolutely be returning every time we are in the Algarve.
Mitchell R — Google review
Restaurant Review: Caniço, Algarve – Stunning Views, Disappointing Everything Else Caniço is one of those restaurants that promises the world: tucked into the cliffs of the Algarve with breathtaking ocean views, it seems like the perfect place for a memorable evening. But unfortunately, once you sit down, the experience quickly unravels into a frustrating, overpriced disappointment that relies entirely on its location to justify its existence. From the start, the service was a mess. We had to wait far too long to be seated, and that slow pace continued throughout the evening. Staff were inattentive, disorganized, and communication was difficult. When we finally managed to place an order, it felt like a gamble whether we’d actually get what we asked for. My partner received her glass of cava within minutes; mine arrived over fifteen minutes later, without apology and barely chilled. The food itself was, frankly, well below standard. As a starter, I ordered the tuna. The quality was poor, and the fish had been so aggressively seasoned that any natural flavour was completely lost. All that remained was the texture—bland, chewy, and overpowered by herbs that seemed intended to cover up how mediocre the tuna really was. For the main course, I had mussels. Sadly, they were no better. The mussels were tough, lacked any real taste, and were served in a barely warm, watery broth that failed to bring the dish together. The preparation felt careless, and the ingredients certainly didn’t taste fresh. It was one of those meals where you keep eating, hoping it will get better—it never did. What’s most frustrating is the sense that Caniço is focused more on squeezing as much money as possible out of tourists than on delivering a quality dining experience. The staff had little to no knowledge about the food or the wine, and everything—from the delayed service to the bland dishes—felt like an afterthought. The only thing worth mentioning in a positive light is the view. The setting is genuinely spectacular, with waves crashing below and a sunset that makes the whole place glow. If you’re after a drink with a view and don’t mind poor service, it might be worth stopping by. But if you’re coming for the food? Don’t bother. Final Verdict: A beautiful location wasted on subpar food and chaotic service. Caniço is a textbook example of style over substance. Come for the view, then eat somewhere else.

NoSoloÁgua Portimão is a stylish beach club and restaurant located on the main beach of Portimao, Praia da Rocha. The venue consists of a beach bar on the waterfront and a restaurant on the Marina side, both offering a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. Guests can enjoy delicious food, live entertainment, and vibrant parties during the summer. The beach club features saltwater pools and attentive staff, making it an ideal spot for special occasions.
What a find! We were there on a Friday afternoon and were fine getting a table for lunch but it was off peak, I can imagine this place is rammed in the summer holidays. We enjoyed it so much we booked a day bed for the next day. Perfect way to waste away a day on the beach. Cocktails were amazing, sangria even better and the food was really good.

Pretty good food, tasted pretty fresh - nothing to write home about. Service was a bit slow but the views and the atmosphere make up for it - can’t beat watching the waves 🌊. Dessert was a bit odd and underwhelming. I’d say the Food was pretty secondary to the views and the atmosphere in my opinion. We sat by the pool so it was a lot quieter, the beach section sounded a lot rowdier.
Barbora B — Google review
Our experience was good. The food was tasty, was served rapidly. It helped there was not packed with a lot of people. There were many waiters and were attentive to serve our needs and to take away the empty plates. The atmosphere was good with ambient music and very close to the beach , just the restaurant is by the beach, Good experience . From our side we recommend it.

We booked the Opium beds in the VIP area and it was such a great experience! The staff were super quick and attentive, always checking in. The food and drinks were delicious, and the whole vibe of the place was amazing. The pool was definitely a highlight — it’s salt water so you can float so easily, which makes it extra relaxing. What I loved most is that in the morning it felt calm and chill, then as the day went on the music got louder and it turned into more of a party. Perfect balance of relaxing and fun. We’ll 100% be back next time we’re in Portimão!

Spent some quality time on one the the full size sunbed which was €50 for the whole day, staff were very quick to serve, went for the Sushi which was good, cocktails were well prepared, finished off with 2 lovely deserts. Had a mid afternoon Red Sangria which had a lovely punch to it. Sea was so refreshing after a few hours in the sun. The setting is great and the decor and seating is great.

This place is a must visit!!! The vibes here were impeccable. We rented the opium king bed for the day and it did not disappoint. The scenery was amazing, we had such a nice view of the ocean. Finally, the food was so delicious and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this spot and will be returning.

Gorgeous place to spend the day. Quality food, friendly staff, and comfortable wide sunbeds. Highly recommend the sushi and bao buns. Book the beds in advance however. Can also hire towels for €5.

We found this place while walking around. The beach/ restaurant is beautiful, we went on a Monday and were able to get two sun beds for the day, we also had a baby with us which was no problem. The staff went above and beyond for us, we booked in for lunch and the sushi was amazing. We had the best day!

The 13 gastrobar is a quaint and secluded eatery tucked away on a side street. Its unassuming exterior belies the hidden gem within - a charming terrace adorned with climbing vines and whitewashed walls. With its rustic and hippyish ambiance, this place may not be suited for those seeking posh and immaculate surroundings. However, if you appreciate good music, delectable rustic cuisine, and great value, then this is the perfect spot for you.
The terrace is incredibly cute and cozy, perfect for a relaxed dining experience. The owner's dog adds to the charm. The staff is exceptionally friendly. The tapas are delicious, especially the melted Portuguese cheese. Don't miss the sangria with green wine—it's fantastic. I'd rate it higher than 5 stars if possible!

13 Gastrobar is probably something you do not want to shout about too load, as you may not get a table on your Next visit, this place is an absolute hidden gem just off the main drag and up a back street, never judge a book by its cover, this place is fantastic as is the food absolutely some of the best tapas I've ever had along with the Sangria x 2 , chefs choice x 4 Tapas, Camenbert Bacon guajons onions, Lamb slow cooked in sauce with couscous and veg, all melted in the mouth so delicious, ombrigado ombrigado

We had a really good meal here, the food is very well prepared and presented, with the taste to suit. The setting is very good; you walk through a fairly standard bar affair out into the garden which is very tastefully decorated and gives a unique alfresco dining experience. The staff are friendly and offer helpful tips on the tapas based menu. Have frequently visited this restaurant through the years and it's very consistent.
Lloyd E — Google review
Great food, atmosphere, staff. Their garden looks like it's from a fairy tale. Book a table because they are always full. Tried breaded octopus and melted Portugese cheese, 5/5 for both.

It was my wife’s birthday dinner and she was so happy that I brought her there. The staff and food was wonderful. Very beautiful setting dining outside.
Chad R — Google review
Truly one of the best meals we have had in a long time. A true hidden gem with the coolest, chilled out vibe in the secret garden. The food was sensational probably the best tapas we've had. So full of flavour everything cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the prawns, bruschetta, chefs couvert (chef choice of 4 tapas). There is a lot to choose from and every dish we had was delicious. The Sangria was also delicious! Creme brulee amazing. We were so focused on eating and the atmosphere we forgot to take photos! The staff were friendly and helful with suggestions, service was excellent. Booked to go back for our wedding anniversary it was that good!

A fantastic meal in a fantastic setting. The secret garden is beautiful and the food just as good. Dessert was also excellent. Afterwards there was some brilliant live music and we enjoyed a few drinks in a terrace above the secret garden. 10 out of 10!

We had a fantastic night out here, Mark and Ali are absolutely fab and the live music from Mark was absolutely class. If you're ever in Alvor then I'd highly recommend visiting Michael's. Oh and the cocktails are some of the best i've had🍹

Friendliest bar in the Algarve, run by Mark & Ali two of the nicest people you could hope to meet. Mark entertains every night the bar is open playing tunes from the fifties right up to current hits. As long as they are within the rules 🤣 Ali & Pedro take great care of the bar serving drinks including a wide range of cocktails. If you’re in Alvor, a trip to Michael’s is a must, you won’t be disappointed.
Roy S — Google review
What a gem of a bar. The bar team, run by the lovely Ali, are so friendly and helpful. The prices beat those of the main strip and Mark plays music & sings on an evening. He sings everything from rock to modern pop, Disturbed, Queen, to even the Spice Girls!! He offers you a choice of eras/bands to sing and takes challenges, but there are some funny rules. A main feature is that he introduces everyone to everyone else, so you become friends and the atmosphere is so lovely. Highly recommend for your Alvor holiday.

After a cold, wet and windy day in Alvor we went looking for somewhere to put the smile back on our faces Michael’s Bar did exactly that. The bar was looked after by Ped and Ali serving drinks and great cocktails and it was table service so no need to move. Mark is the entertainment belting out lots of different types of songs at the same time interacting with his audience, one thing we did notice was that he didn’t swear once so you can take granny with you, can’t wait to visit again.

Had the best night here with a family group of 20 the other week for my friend’s 40th. Started outside where moving tables around was no trouble, drinks orders were taken and delivered quickly. Once the live music started up, we moved inside where young or old, everyone had an amazing time, singing and dancing! Special thanks for playing my 5 year old’s fave Green, Green Grass! Made his night (and ours since we almost made it to midnight!)

A Lota de Alvor is a renowned seafood restaurant located in the charming village of Alvor, nestled between Carvoeiro and Lagos. The restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with its fresh and flavorful fish and seafood dishes, including grilled sardines, lobster, and perfectly fried sardines. Situated in the heart of Alvor, A Lota provides a casual atmosphere perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal while indulging in the excellent selection of seafood.
The best restaurant I had the pleasure of trying in Alvor! I loved every part of the experience – the setting, the ambiance, the attentive service, and, of course, the exceptional food. I started with the sardines accompanied by peppers and potato foam, which were absolutely delightful. For the main course, I enjoyed a perfectly cooked octopus, along with an incredible tiger prawn and a tender steak. Everything was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. I paired it with a refreshing sangria, and to finish, indulged in a rich and decadent chocolate dessert. Highly recommend!
Iris S — Google review
Wow, what an experience! We sat close to the grill and I could see the fish being prepared and cooked, which was quite something for a keen cook. Our starter choice was interesting and delicious, followed by a whole sea bream, de-boned at our table and served with perfectly cooked vegetables and new potatoes. The theatre of it all was fascinating. I loved watching the two chefs preparing and cooking a wide variety of beautiful fresh fish, and the taste didn’t disappoint, it was sensational. Our desserts of cheesecake and passion fruit meringue were also delicious, and we felt properly treated. Highly recommended if you love fish, they really know how to cook it.
Wendy B — Google review
We went to A Lota as a couple looking for a last minute table and they managed to squeeze us in as it was pretty busy! The staff were so friendly, one member helped us choose a bottle of wine and Bruno in particular looked after us really well. We obviously had to have seafood with it being so close to the front so chose the grilled tuna steak and the octopus. We both agreed we’d never had seafood like it, so fresh and tasty 🤤 would probably have a starter or add some sides next time as the portions weren’t huge, but still delicious. 10/10 would recommend 👌🏼
Mary S — Google review
A friend recommended this place to us, and it truly lived up to the praise! The vibe in A Lota is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. We started with oysters, which were fresh and delicious. For mains, my husband enjoyed the fish of the day while I had a beautifully prepared scallop and prawn curry - both were excellent. We finished off with lovely desserts and a glass of port. Can’t wait to return!😊

Everything was fresh from the local beach nothing from the market. Everyone worked their buts off ,amazing quality 5 stars

Exceptional locally sourced sea food. Friendly and professional service. The best clams of my life 🥰
Abraham S — Google review
This is my favorite place for fish in southern Portugal so far. A Lota has a great selection of fish in hand, and it's super fresh. Our party of 5 enjoyed a large Golden Bream that was grilled for us by the same man that had caught it that morning. That was a new level of fresh for me. The starters were very tasty (especially the razor clams), but the Bream was the absolute star of the show. Paired with some excellent Portuguese wine, it was a near perfect meal. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location is conveniently located on the main drag through the town. I very much hope to return in the future, especially considering how affordable our meals were given the super high quality.

We decided to eat there after a long beach walk. The staff was very friendly and speak good english. We decided for fish. They showed us fresh fish and let us decide. The food was delicious, fish and sides (fries and salad). Little bit long waiting time. View on the beautiful seaside.

The burger is sooo good ! Incredible. Everything is fresh and the bread had probably spinash in it, with grains and is was soft and so good. Good prices and very good service. They aloud our small chihuahua to be out on the terrace with us.

The best food we’ve experienced over our 1 week stay in Alvor. We had the stuffed chicken and prawn curry. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff

The best cuisine we tasted so far in the Algarve. The prices are very reasonable. We had the monkfish kebab and the sautéed fish with orange sauce. It was simply delicious !! We greatly recommend this restaurant.

Staff are amazing at this beach front resturant, very funny. Loved the food and the house wine is very good. They accommodated to me being vegan easily as well.

Such a gorgeous spot right on the beach, and the staff were actually pretty friendly and professional, but the food was a massive letdown. My razor clam risotto was totally overcooked, bland, and the clams were super rubbery – definitely didn't taste fresh. Then came the linguine vongole. It was swimming in a ridiculous amount of oil (seriously, it pooled at the bottom of the plate!). And to top it off? A whole unpeeled garlic clove just chilling in my pasta. Unacceptable! Honestly, the food completely ruined what could have been a lovely meal. They really need to step up their kitchen game. Avoid if you're going for the food! Stick to the view.

Such an amazing meal! We wandered down from our hotel looking for something a bit more local and laid back and it was perfect. Grilled sea bass was gorgeous, wine excellent. Desserts were delicious and our waitress was poking fun at us because it was so filling we couldn’t finish but she was completely charming. It felt extremely hospitable and friendly, with perfect view and vibe. Highly recommend!

Restaurante Rei das Praias is a must-visit dining spot in Algarve, located on the serene Praia dos Caneiros. This seafood restaurant has been serving patrons since the 1970s and continues to impress with its fresh catches and warm service. The picturesque setting offers stunning views of the Atlantic, adding to the overall dining experience.
Cracking fish restaurant, beautiful views, lovely celebration for my mums 65th. Lovely orderves, Monkfish kebabs were superb and one of the best Beef carpaccio I have ever had, just superb

We started with the couvert, something I rarely order, but it was absolutely worth it, along with a refreshing oyster ceviche as our starter. For the main course, we had pargo (a type of fish) that was perfectly cooked and delicious, served with a simple yet flavorful tomato and onion salad, grilled baby potatoes, and a shrimp “cachorrinho.” The service was excellent—our waiter, Filipe (if I recall correctly), was attentive and friendly. On top of that, the restaurant offers a stunning view of the beach. I definitely recommend heading up to the rooftop to make the most of it. A great spot for both the food and the atmosphere!

4/5⭐️ Visited: October 16th 2025 (~13:00h) Order: 0.75l Sparkling water (4,50€), Passion Fruit Mocktail (6€), Rei das Praias Aperitif (7€), Rei das Praias Vinho Branco (7€), Couvert (8,40€), Cheese (4,50€), 2 Oysters (7,80€), Arroz de Marisco (59€) Food: - Drinks were very good through and trough, although a real non-alcoholic aperitif would have been nice, as the mocktail was not sparkling -Couvert: - three different types of bread, all very nice and quite different from each other - beetroot cream cheese, a little too sweet, could have used some acidity and a little more salz, but still tasty - two different kinds of fried meatballs (1 each), taste was ok, but they looked crunchy and were very soggy and not fresh enough, lowlight of the meal - olives, very tasty - cheese was also quite good, but quite a lot, considering the portion side of our main dish - oysters were served with fresh lemon, homemade piri-piri oil and tabasco, just used the lemon, very good quality Arroz de Marisco - served on a small chair next to the table in a pot, the waiter scooped our first portion on our plates to present it in a nice way - mussels, clams, piece of crab, shrimps all cooked very on point - amount was not well balanced, the waiter put most of the seafood on our first serving to make it look nice, which we only realized when we later opened the pot for seconds and there were only two shrimp and some clams left - rice could have cooked maybe 2 minutes longer, but it was at the beginning of al dente, so not a dealbreaker - the tomato based soup had a very natural flavor which was complemented well by the boiled seafood juices - huge portion after all of the starters it was very hard to finish Service/Atmosphere: - very friendly staff - vibe of the place is amazing, feels chique without being pretentious, especially when sitting on the rooftop with a view of the beach (not the prettiest beach in Algarve, but nice nonetheless) Verdict: We could have eaten less starters for more stomach space, but apart from the meatballs everything tasted great. The arroz de marisco was very tasty, even though the rice could have been cooked a little longer and the waiter could have left some more seafood in the pot for a second serving. Pleasant experience over all. Rating system: 0⭐️terrible, nobody should eat this 1⭐️ disappointing but edible 2⭐️ fine, nothing special, works if there are no other options 3⭐️quite tasty, might visit again 4⭐️ delicious, visit was worth it 5⭐️ amazing, will/would eat there regularly

Very bad experience, I booked the corner table for Sunday on Friday, but someone takes the table when I arrive on time! I triple checked the corner table that we could get. Then we spent our whole afternoon in the beach waiting for the dinner and sunset. The staff only told me it’s her problem she did not see the notices. I should wait for less than forty minutes. I do not what’s the massage used for? I did not see any services when the problem happened. No solutions, only waiting, the why I need to book in advance? Even I got the confirmation for the table!
王金华 — Google review
Our first time and to be honest a somewhat mixed experience. Booked a table and were greeted by a grumpy what I assume is the manager/owner given the impression that we were fortunate to be let in. Service from the waiters was friendly and faultless and the food was of exemplary quality. Nice cool vibe with DJ set starting at 8pm but in no way impeding on the dining experience. Not cheap and although fresh seafood deserves to be paid for, there are other restaurants in the area that serve fresh fish at more attractive prices accompanied by a kinder priced wine list. Premium presumably linked to the fantastic setting.

We went here 2 times in 3 days. First was a celebratory birthday lunch for my fiance. Amazing food, wine,,service and view. Have to say i was intrigued by the Brandy Alexander on the menu. Hadn’t had one in decades. Drank TWO. When we returned the second time we sat at the top level - just drinks. Yes…i had THREE (i was not driving!) We thoroughly loved this place. NO seaweed on the beach either! Pristine. Best views!

It's one of my faves beach spots in Algarve! Delicious food, fantastic atmosphere, and even better Sangria! Everyone is super friendly! For dinners, bookings are advised as this place fills up quickly!

Club Nau on a Sunday is an epic experience! The live music is always a highlight, guaranteeing a fun time with friends. I've been a number of times, and it never disappoints. The sushi is fantastic, especially the tempura king prawns with kimchi mayonnaise – a must-try! While the cocktails can be a little inconsistent, and the service occasionally slow, the overall experience is a blast. The staff are great, contributing to the lively atmosphere. If you're looking for a fun-filled Sunday with great music and food, Club Nau is the place to be!"

16.3.25. Sunday. The heavens opened. So much rain. But in Club Nau you wouldn't know it was blowing a hooley and raining outside. The singer was great. The food fab and the attentive help from Ricardo and Esta was just what was needed. Never felt rushed. Loved the night. We went on the Friday before and that was the same. Sunday at the end I had another friend jump on my lap it was the resident Cat. Seemed to take a liking to me . If you don't like cats they will remove it but for some reason it was a lovely cat. Hope to see Ricardo, Esta and the cat again. First photo is Ferragudo from Vitors Village.

A great place for sushi and live music. Make sure you check the schedule and pick a night when a band or musician is on because it gets very lively and fun. Especially in the summer months. The sushi and poke bowls are also fantastic. And they do good cocktails. I’d recommend booking in high season.

Staff, so attentative, engaging, warm, happy, professional are just a few of the terms I would use. Food outstandingly delicious, the choice of foods & beers & cocktails brilliant. Then there was the entertainment a young amazingly tallented lady & her band, kept the dance floor filled, outstanding night out, plus there is an extensive outside area too, just dropped a star on what it cost, but put the location, parking, disabled access probably could be a little challenging but they probably have a plan in place to cope with that too, view & sunset breathtaking. So probability should be 5stars.

The beer hall Beer & Co. Alvor is a great place to enjoy some Portuguese craft beers, with friendly staff and great music. It's also perfect for socialising with friends, as the door is always open to allow easy access to smoke. However, the prices are on the expensive side, and smokers should be aware that they're barely an inch away from death in terms of lung cancer risk! Nevertheless, Beer & Co.
Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Everything about it is great. I got the teriyaki burger and it was honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had. Delicious flavour and the fries were perfect too. Definitely aimed at the tourists and émigrés ... but sometimes that's what you want! They have a fantastic beer selection and good to see the local(ish) Marafada craft beers on draft. I'd only had the bottled versions. Must of us had burgers and fries, etc.. These were very good, nothing greasy. Was early lunchtime and fairly quiet. Really attentive service and the barman was happy to talk me through the beers that I didn't recognise (incl. A brewery in Lisboa).

Our new favourite place for a good burger. Can absolutely recommend the Barbeque Burger with the Jack Daniels Sauce. Its a unique and very tasty burger you will find nowhere else. The atmosphere is good, service is great and on the top floor there is even a pool table that can be used for 2x1€ per game.

I avoided this place all summer as it was often packed full of tourists and expats, and a pub like that is hardly unique in Alvor. However, we were out one evening, early in the week and they were open. It wasn't full at all, so we thought, "Why not just try it?" It was actually a really cool time. The staff were amazingly friendly. Young Portuguese guys just chilling and doing a good job. I was pleased to see that 2/3rds of the customers seemed to be Portuguese locals. Live music was quite good. Really talented guy. The place is clean, modern, with good prices for the tourist strip in Alvor. €3 tequila shots was the winner. (Just make sure you don't order a fancier tequila. Just rail.) Well-stocked backbar. Not sure it would be for me during peak-summertime, but for now, it's a chill place to hang out and have a few drinks.

Went for a walk from Portimão to Alvor. While there we decided to have a quick lunch at Restinga Ria. It has quickly become one of our favorite spots for several reasons. Great location, easy to find parking, fast service, fresh and delicious food and most of all, they made us feel like family. As I mentioned, we were walking so just a quick lunch. We each ordered a bottle of water and their spin of a "club" sandwich. Special sauce, chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato and a sliced egg on a soft crusty bun. Sooo good.

Mourisco Cocktail Bar, established in 1990, is a renowned establishment offering top-notch service and an ideal setting to indulge in alcoholic beverages. Tom M — Google review
An interesting themed bar on the main bar strip. Lots of attention to decor which is really cool, especially if you're looking for something fresh and different from the usual Portuguese bars, Irish pubs, or other very touristy bars. I appreciate what they're trying to do in Alvor, but it seems like they want to be a nightclub more than a cocktail bar: blue and pink neon lights. DJs. Blasting generic dance music. Basic sweet drinks. The music is far too loud. It was Saturday night and maybe only 6 other people were inside. Nobody dancing. It was very difficult to talk to my friends and just enjoy the cocktails. I get it if there's a DJ and the place is packed for dancing, but it was a bit odd for a cocktail bar. Very few places manage to mesh nightclub with cocktail bar well. And for good reason. Strange that they police where you sit as well, considering there are no reserved tables and it seems more like a nightclub. We started as 2 people, settled in, and then were told we can't sit on that side of the bar because we aren't enough people for the 4 seat table, even though the bar was empty. We moved to the table they told us to sit at, and no one else came in during our stay so it seemed a bit weird to move people like that. When our third person arrived, we just stayed put. No point in moving around again. Felt a bit uncomfortable. They have a decent size cocktail menu, but unfortunately, they are all incredibly sweet, and most are vodka-based, which also tends to imply a nightclub or amateur mixology vibe. Based on some of the photos and reviews, I thought it would have more refined, balanced drinks. It's too bad because with the theme, there could be so many creative and unique options for a signature cocktail menu that is coherent with the theme, but they're not and it's just a random mishmash of themetically-unrelated cocktails. Where is the Moorish or Moroccan influence that the bar plays on for the name (historically and culturally significant) and decor? Music and drinks do not reflect it or any significance of that at all. But then again, this place is on the strip and seems to want to pull in young, drunk tourists. And kids like that want sweet and simple. So, I understand the decisions, but unfortunately, when I read "cocktail bar" as the name of a place, I expect more, and this just doesn't live up to standards I personally look for. I imagine it's just fine, if not excellent, for most holiday people (Brits mainly, who like super sugary, weak cocktails). In fact, as it is, it seems to attract aging British tourists, rather than the young crowd the atmosphere is catering to. There's nothing wrong with it as a fun spot to hang out, dance, and get a margarita. But if you're looking for a more mature cocktail lounge and the drinks that come with that, this isn't it. At least not on Saturdays. Maybe it's different during the week? I think I'll try again for a better review because the bartender seemed very nice and it would have been good to sit at the bar maybe.
Vee — Google review
Reviews led me to try this place and I was not disappointed. Very friendly welcome from all the staff, great choice of cocktails perfect for pre dinner drinks. I recently had a fantastic time at Sala Cocktail Bar in Alvor. The service provided by Miguel and Gonzalo was exceptional. From the moment I arrived, Miguel greeted me warmly and made me feel welcomed. He was attentive and knowledgeable, suggesting unique drinks and explaining their flavors. Likewise, Gonzalo was incredibly friendly and ensured that all customers had an enjoyable experience. His energy and attentiveness were truly admirable. Without a doubt, this is the best cocktail bar in Alvor.
One of the best cocktails bars I have ever been to. Just upset that I found this place on the last night in Alvor. I would have loved to of sampled more of them. Really unique cocktails that taste like heaven. A must try if you are passing by.

Really disappointing experience at this cocktail bar. The drinks were poorly made despite the strong reviews that had convinced us to try it (even though there were only two other customers there on a Saturday night—should’ve been a red flag!). We ordered a margarita and an old fashioned, which any decent cocktail bar should be able to get right, but both were awful. When we mentioned we didn’t like them, the bartender seemed irritated, so we just paid and left without finishing our drinks. Definitely a bad experience.
