Indian restaurant
Bar
Nestled in a historic building, Thyme & Chillies Birdham is a delightful destination for those seeking modern Indian cuisine. This charming eatery offers an extensive menu that showcases authentic dishes crafted by chefs with over 20 years of experience from renowned restaurants across India, Dubai, and the UK. Whether you're in the mood for a leisurely tiffin lunch or an indulgent dinner featuring lamb specialties and vibrant vegetable sides, Thyme & Chillies has something to satisfy every palate.
Amazing South Indian cuisine. The Venison was melt in the mouth and the Goan Fish was one of the best I’ve ever had…. If not the best. Prices were super reasonable and the staff were very friendly. A pleasure to meet the chef. Highly recommend this place.
Inderveer T — Google review
One of those places I’ve spent years driving past and finally decided to go in and glad I did. In a classic old pub converted so it’s a little rough around the edges but the food and staff made up for it. Went for the Goat Curry special and was cracking. The Vegan Mrs enjoyed her Dal curry. Cheesy garlic naan was indeed cheesy. Decent place with nice food, they got us in without a booking and there is plenty of parking space.
Andrew D — Google review
Unreal wonderful food and experience. We’re from Texas and visiting family in the area and they took us to Thyme & Chillies. Lawrence is a spectacularly friendly person and went above and beyond for us. Tuesday is dosa night, it was just lovely. We had multiple chicken & lamb dishes. The lamb was amazingly tender. Watching the dosa being made was very fun and educational. The coconut chutney with the dosa is one of my favorite foods I’ve ever eaten. It was such a good experience all around. Excellent food, drinks, service, people. Highly highly recommend.
Scarlett D — Google review
The restaurant is located along a quiet countryside but easy enough to find with any sat nav. Tuesday is Indian street food day though not my personal favourite they are well received by others. The restaurant can feel a bit crowded and it's always busy/full, not the cheapest place but definitely a popular one.
Yi W — Google review
We stayed nearby and went twice for take-out. The place looks nice and easy to reach from the road. I've eaten a lot of Indian food all over the world, but I can honestly say this has been the best I had! A totally different menu then I'm used to (which is good!), all the food is amazing and extremely tasteful. We were on holiday from The Netherlands, so I'm gonna miss this place :-) When in this area: eat at Thyme & Chillies! @Thyme, thanks for the free beer during waiting, much appreciated! Good luck with the business!
Olav H — Google review
Wow! This is what I call real Indian food! It is one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to. We are visitors to this town, and it was worth the long travel. Every single dish tasted so rich and well made with diverse flavours. They made my mum's birthday extra special, and she really enjoyed her chocolate cake at the end. THANK YOU! The staff were so hospitable and welcoming. Before going, I tried book the table over the phone, but the connection was bad. The staff made sure to keep calling me back to book and secure our table, which was so nice of them as they are a very busy restaurant. Me family had a wonderful experience.
Foodie G — Google review
Well worth a visit. Somewhere we had lived relatively locally to but never gone. Decided first visit we would go there for husbands birthday meal. For a weekday it was busy so worth booking in advance! Service was amazing, staff are attentive but not overly cloyingly attentive (which is nice). The Indian street food was an excellent touch and also worth trying! Really reasonably priced and didn’t make you feel rushed at all. Definitely on the list for a re-visit! Plenty of parking. It is in a converted pub so quirky layout but it actually works. Would recommend to anyone to visit for anyone that was in two minds about whether to go or not.
Tessa G — Google review
We drive past the restaurant this evening and were immediately drawn in by the beautiful venue. On our way back, we decided to give it a try. Despite how busy it was, the team found us a table within about 10 minutes. While we waited, the staff looked after us with drinks, and that same outstanding service continued throughout the night. The food was equally impressive. The chicken starters were exceptional, as was the naan bread and the lamb shank was absolutely stunning. My partner ordered a korma and said it was the best she’s ever had—and after trying it myself, I had to agree. Perfectly cooked and full of flavour. All in all, we had an amazing evening. Highly recommend this place, and we’ll definitely be visiting again!

Turkish restaurant

Mediterranean restaurant
Restaurant
Reina Kitchen, a top-notch eatery in Chichester, offers an array of delectable Turkish dishes and creates a delightful ambiance for diners. The menu is expansive, showcasing flame-grilled kebabs, seafood delicacies, and various unique house specialties. This genuine Turkish restaurant is managed by a family and situated in the city center. It takes immense pride in providing exceptional service to its patrons while maintaining traditional culinary standards.
Excellent meal at Reina Kitchen. We came on a Wednesday afternoon and they gave us some free starters and salads - apparently they were using them for photos and they would go to waste, lucky day for us! The waitresses and waiters were lovely and very efficient. Excellent deal on cocktails from 9-5pm, I had the lychee martini which was absolutely delicious. But of course the most important element - the food was fantastic. Everything tasted so fresh, so well seasoned, so flavorful - we somehow managed to eat absolutely everything. Will come back here when in Chichester - a must try. Plus, we had a gluten free diner with us and they had lots of options for her. We’ll be back!
Sebas F — Google review
Food is absolutely incredible, one of our absolute favourite places to eat. Staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and give you the best possible experience (one literally dashed out to get more frozen strawberries because they had run out and I had been drinking strawberry daiquiris) Cannot recommend enough.
Ashleigh H — Google review
Nice meal at Rein Kitchen. The food was deliciously authentic and the staff were very friendly. Only slight downside were the drinks ; my eldest daughter ordered a Turkish yoghurt and she quotes ‘it tastes like salty milk!’ My younger daughter ordered a fruit juice, it was a mix of all sorts of sweeteners with no actual juice. The atmosphere of the restaurant was relatively warm, if not a bit quiet for a normal lunchtime. Will recommend to friends though.
Owen Z — Google review
Delicious food, cute Turkish waiter ! Highly recommended, will come again.
Nat C — Google review
Despite the restaurant being almost empty, we felt really rushed by the over attentive waiters. The shared hot mezzi starter was very good. When the main course arrived, the meat was very good, but sadly the salads had clearly been prepared well in advance and had started to discolour and curl at the edges .
Simon — Google review
Went there for an 8pm booking. Was told the table wasn’t ready as the people before us didn’t want to leave (a lie), and that someone would be able to give us some drinks whilst we wait (another lie). At 8.15, still no drink order, and no one looking like leaving there table any time soon. Finally someone took our drink order at 20 past. By half 8, no drinks, no one looking like leaving, so asked the manageress again where the table would be. She shrugged and didn’t know what to say. So overall not great at all
George S — Google review
Hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. We visited for my partners 30th birthday and were the only people in the restaurant, yet the waiter ignored us and sat on his phone instead of serving customers. We had to flag him down just to get drinks, and when the food finally arrived, it was wrong. Nobody checked if it was okay, and when we raised how bad the experience was, the manager clearly didn’t care. To make it even worse, they didn’t even want to remove the service charge — despite the fact there was absolutely no service to speak of. If this is how they treat the only table in the place, I can’t imagine how dreadful it would be if they were actually busy. Total waste of time and money.
Lauren C — Google review
We recently ordered a large takeaway for a birthday celebration, about which I spoke to the manager in advance. He was extremely friendly, flexible and professional, and, on the day, the food was ready on time, beautifully fresh and incredibly tasty – everyone in our party thought so too! We were very grateful to Hamdi and his team for helping us make the evening special, and will definitely be back for more of Reina Kitchen's delicious food soon. To finish it all off, the baklava was absolutely fantastic! Thank you :-)

Restaurant
Purchases Chichester is a sophisticated restaurant and wine bar located in the heart of Chichester. Housed in a beautiful Georgian building, it offers an extensive cocktail list and excellent food, making it perfect for pre-theatre dinners or celebratory lunches. The restaurant's refined menu focuses on British cuisine and features beautifully presented dishes. With its elegant interior and sun-drenched terrace, Purchases provides a memorable dining experience for visitors looking to enjoy the best of British ingredients executed with finesse.
Can't comment on the hotel but the restaurant is phenomenal. Ordered two espresso martinis which were divine. Then ordered a beef wellington and the fillet of steak. Both beautifully cooked and delicious. So rich and good portion sizes. The food really is impeccable. I want to return already. The service was also really good. My only negatives were service was pretty slow. 1h and 45mins for a main and cocktail. And the waiter also brought out the wrong wine. I asked for the Italian red and he seemed confused and brought out the house. Please bring over the wine list in future and I can point it out.

Absolutely Exceptional – A Culinary Gem! Everything about this restaurant is top-tier. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the service attentive without being intrusive, and the food - simply unforgettable. Every course was beautifully plated and delicious, but the beef Wellington alone is worth a special trip. If you’re looking for a standout dining experience, look no further. This place is a must-visit.

I have never had a meal here that feel even slightly short of excellent. The service is attentive without being pushy or overbearing and the food is a delight. The three course is excellent value and doesn’t scrimp on size, taste or ingredients. The A la Carte menu is incredible, I’ve had the best pace of beef that I’ve ever eaten in my life here.
Cathy L — Google review
We stayed 2 nights here at the end of a family holiday & it was lovely! Food fab, great cocktails & we especially enjoyed the Wednesday Fish menu which was superb! The top floor room was great but be aware there’s no lift up the three floors. Room had everything we needed & was very comfortable & very clean. Location is right in middle of town with access to lots of shops & restaurants. Staff greeted us warmly & were professional but friendly.
Jill H — Google review
I had an exceptional dinner at The Purchases earlier this week. After a long, draining day, I walked in running on fumes—but was treated with warmth, professionalism, and just the right amount of indulgence. The service made me feel like a valued guest—if not quite royalty, then at least someone worth slowing down for. The Food? Immaculate. The Atmosphere? Spot on. I even left my coat in the cloakroom and came back the next day to collect it with zero hassle. Classy from start to finish.

Arrived here after a long trip on the train from London with a tired dog and a hungry belly. Trinity and Charlotte were absolutely fantastic. They found me a fantastic spot for my tired dog, brought him water and me an espresso martini!!! I enjoyed the three course meal and the food is excellent quality. Charlotte is impeccably attentive of all of the customers and is a huge asset. I am so grateful to have found such an amazing oasis of calm and class in Chichester
Grateful D — Google review
Haven’t been back here since covid and it was surprisingly good. Set lunch is very good value as well. We had soup and salmon for starters, and chicken and trout for main courses. All were very tasty. Staff were attentive and more than helpful. Great to see local business doing well. Keep it up!
Bella M — Google review
I always used to recommend Purchases to friends and family, as it was always a delight. Shame it takes one event/occasion for it to be spoiled. It seems like they should carry on focusing on the food & drink instead of creating events within the restaurant. I understand in this current climate you’ve got to do anything within your means to get a bit of extra cash but it then should be managed properly. I got tickets for the summer BBQ event in July, it was very poorly managed and our table of 8 had to be sat inside even though this was advertised as an outdoor event and we had already pre booked tickets for. Us and one smaller table of 4/5 were the only ones who were inside, yet we didn’t even get an apology on the day. I’ve since spoken to them via email and they are just out there for themselves and couldn’t care less about loyalty. I’ve had the typical ‘sorry you feel that way’ email which is disrespectful in itself. Everyone else was sat outside in the sun enjoying the ambience and music yet all we could see was the back of a DJ’s head and later on in the day the back of a violinist. They didn’t do anything to put this right, we were the ones who had to reach out 30mins before the end to see if we could now move outside as a table had freed up. I’m just really disappointed in the restaurant as I thought better of it.

I recommend!!! Very tasty breakfast! We were surprised how delicious everything was, freshly prepared and served like in the best restaurant! The chef knows his business! If you want to eat tasty and healthy, then this is the place for you! Very polite and attentive staff! everything was great!

I've not been in this pub in years, but glad it's re-opened. I popped in and had a pint and found the decor pleasant as was the service. I will go back for dinner soon. The London Pride beer was a little off, perhaps old? But still enjoyable.
Paul G — Google review
The pub is under new management, and being refurbished, so i visited before the official relaunch. It is tastefully decorated, with a nice outside terrace. The staff were friendly, the food is good and reasonably priced, and they had a guest real ale. It is a permit parking street, but there is a council car park nearby.
Brandon P — Google review
We had roast dinner today. The beef, chicken and gammon were excellent. The kale was just right. The potatoes and parsnips were a little overcooked, the carrots too! Yorkshire pudding huge, gravy was yum. Eton mess was nice. Drinks good. Service good. Mens toilet needed attention.
Michelle W — Google review
Popped in for a spot of lunch as we heard it now has new owners. I feel sorry for the hospitality industry over the last couple of years as they have been hit very hard by the total greed and mismanagement of government. It must be a really tough business to be in... That all said, the new owners are off to a fantastic start with some amazing food and great prices! Highly recommend you pop in and give it a go! 😋
Matt W — Google review
New management.. avoid!! Booking system doesn’t even work . we turned up and no booking system in place .. no idea who I was or what my booking was.. got put in the bar.. awful table near the door. Along with another un satisfied table. Obviously I’m not going to be too happy but when we tried to say anything we got cut down and aggressively told we can leave if we don’t like it. Manager is now a 17 year old looking guy old who is not interested or experienced in managing customer relations.. just immature and back chatty. Such a waste of what use to be a great pub!!
Melanie G — Google review
Review is for the food and drinks: the pub is bright and has a nice atmosphere for dining. There's a reasonable range of drinks on tap. I tried the nut roast - the menu states that all other roasts are served with yorshire puddings, but the nut roast isn't as they're not vegan. When the food was brought to the table there was a yorkshire pudding on the plate so I asked the server and she said it was vegan. I then asked another member of staff who checked with the chef and confirmed that it was not suitable for vegans. The server who said it was vegan did not bother to apologise. The roasted vegetables were slightly under cooked too so I wouldn't eat here again.

Great Spanish experience, with quality Tapas, lovely staff, even practising a little Spanish with the lovely lady from the Canaries who served us to make the entire experience extremely pleasant.. Nice atmosphere in the cellar and will be coming back again

What a find. It's slightly hidden away off the main street, but if you drive in beside the blue building, there is parking, and you are right at the door. They have a lovely outdoor dining area, too. The staff are very friendly, attentive and deliver great service. The food is amazing, so fresh and great quality ingredients. I ordered from the tapas menu, and I enjoyed everything. I would highly recommend getting the garlic bread with cheese with the gambas pil pil. The sauce is the best I've even had, and I couldn't stop dipping my garlic bread into the sauce 😋. The gambas palomitas was the highlight. Everything was delicious. I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. The place is beautifully decorated and great for a group or romantic meal. A hidden gem you have to try.

We were blown away by the quality, presentation and taste of the food. The table service was excellent and the décor made us feel like we were on holiday, especially since we sat outside on a sunny day. It’s less busy early on a weekend evening, so you’ll have a lovely quiet dinner.

Nestled in the charming Buttermarket area, Bill's Chichester Restaurant is a delightful spot that captures the essence of contemporary European dining. With its eclectic and cozy ambiance, it feels like a home away from home. The restaurant serves an array of menus throughout the day, including breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner.
Top tier breakfast, much bigger than we were expecting for the price. The team were lovely, friendly good vibes and super helpful, even brought over replacement icy water when ours ran low, very attentive. Sad I didn’t get their names for the review but thank you so much to the Monday 22nd morning team! Had never been to Bills before so this was an amazing first impression and we will have to do breakfast in a Bills again! Full all day after the absolute feast we had and I think it was about £14 each.

Really good location in the centre of Chichester North Street. I had the traditional breakfast, which was well cooked with proper butcher sausage. Price was very reasonable for the location and quality of the food.
Terry-David H — Google review
Excellent place to eat in Chichester. It was recommended to me and overall didn't disappoint. I had the share platter with dip, chorizo, bread, dumplings, pickles etc. Very filling and tasty. I then had the Bills flowerpot dessert but found it a bit disappointing. It looks great, but there was too much chocolate soil which tasted like Oreo cookies so not what I was expecting. The filling hardly tasted of passionfruit to me and in the end I could only eat about half the dessert. Glass of wine was good and service was friendly and attentive.

Restaurant
Nestled in Goodwood, Farmer Butcher Chef Restaurant and Bar offers a cozy ambiance with a fireplace and modern eclectic furniture. The restaurant is committed to sustainability, sourcing its produce from the nearby Home Farm. Led by farmer Paul Dovey, master butcher John Hearn, and executive chef Alan White, the establishment provides a unique dining experience centered around locally reared meat.
We’ve eaten at The Goodwood Hotel before but this was our first experience of Farmer,Butcher,Chef. The restaurant was relaxed with quirky, mainly farming themed decorations. Staff were very helpful & not pushy at all. We both had the steak & chips which was delicious. A bottle of Rioja & a cheesecake to finish all made for a wonderful experience of locally produced food. Highly recommended.

Completed a perfect day. Steak tartare was deliciously (started eating before photographed!), as was the barbecued meat with freshly prepared salads (didn't photograph as we were too eager to attack our plates)! The rhubarb, hibiscus and gin parfait with lemon sorbet was the best dessert I have had in a long time. We chanced upon this restaurant after a day at Goodwoof and so pleased we did. Thank you for making us and our two dogs so welcome.

Another fabulous meal at Farmer, Butcher, Chef. Our first time for an evening meal, and for a special birthday occasion. Lots of special little touches, and oh the cheese selection is stupendous, with a little bit of theatre.

I am so pleased that we chose to eat at Farmer Butcher Chef. We went there 1 year ago and it was great, but today was outstanding and was told that Ollie is now the top chef. We have eaten in some top places worldwide and we found the food to exceptional. All the food was perfectly seasoned and cooked with thought and passion. All the staff were absolutely lovely and the ambience was relaxing. I would totally recommend this restaurant.
Tee P — Google review
As it was a beautiful day opted to sit in the outdoor terrace, thinking it was an award winning restaurant would have expected the seating to be more comfortable and luxurious. Small metal folding chairs with large cushions that spent more time on the floor rather than behind us. Food very tasty flavoursome and well presented we were a table of 4. Opted for the upgrade to butchers blocks highly recommended the beef, lamb and pork were amazingly presented and all very succulent and cooked to perfection. Service was a little slow considering the few people with some confusion over tables. Ordered water sparkling and tap never offered ice or wedges of lemon / lime had to request. I would go back for the food and would hope the seating and service would improve.

I have been to this restaurant so many times and never realised I had not done a review. I think the fact that I have been so many times over many years tells you it's own story. The food is fantastic there is also a great selection of wines and they also make some fab cocktails. The staff are brilliant and so friendly they are there when you need them but do not fuss around you which makes for a perfect balance all set in a lovely restaurant. Totally recommend especially if your a meat lover. See you soon.

Terrible experience at lunch today. Service was poor, the staff were more interested in talking to each other and hiding out of the way of guests. The food was terrible. We paid a supplement for the BBQ board of beef, lamb and pork and I wish I’d thought to take a photo. It was laughable. 3 tiny dry bits of meat were served on a saucer sized metal plate and should have served 2 people. The sides were also terrible, a poor cold potato salad, a dish of pickled cabbage and a few tomato’s. Lazy staff and poor quality food. Needless to say they have lost our cusrom and we won’t go back.

Crown & Anchor is a charming and cozy traditional pub located in Dell Quay, offering stunning views of Chichester Harbour. The pub is known for its focus on local seafood, with dishes like Dell Quay Seabass, South Coast Cod, and Selsey Crab. The menu also includes classic British dishes made from fresh seasonal ingredients. This dog-friendly establishment serves a fine selection of ales and wines to complement the delicious food.
I'm from the local area, but living in America the last 10 years. So when I was visiting family I had to come in here for old time sakes, I wasn't disappointed. The sea bass was absolutely delicious paired with the other shellfish starters. This is a beautiful pub in a fantastic location. When I'm back again in a few years, I will make sure to stop by again.

This is a gem of a place. Beautiful pub and lovely setting with a great choice of fresh seafood and plenty of outdoor seating. Service was good and we had a lovely lunch here. Gets v busy though- got here just before 12 noon on a Sunday and the car park was full! There’s parking down the road though. Would definitely visit again.

Had an incredible meal at The Crown & Anchor a few weeks ago – one of the best pub dining experiences I’ve had. The surf & turf was absolutely spot on. The steak was perfect, juicy, and flavourful while the prawns on top were super fresh. Served alongside crisp broccolini and a rich, savory sauce that tied everything together. The atmosphere in the pub was warm and inviting, with great service to match. Ideal spot for a cozy dinner or a special meal out with friends. Highly recommended – will definitely be back!

A recommendation from a relative who used to frequent, and it did not disappoint! We had a fantastic table situated next to the kitchen, with a lovely backdrop. The service was excellent, and the food even better! I would highly recommend the Devon crab linguine. We will definitely return in the future.

Wow - what a gem! Perfect location with stunning views. Outdoor seating area with excellent food and drink options. We booked a table for 10 people and sat inside - the service was exceptional. Food incredible! Oysters, fresh fish hake, lemon sole, black bream haddock and chips, grilled prawns - all cooked to perfection! Expensive for a family lunch, but well worth it as it was a beautiful place to celebrate in style! Thank you ❤️

Went in for a recommendation for Saturday evening meal .pouring with rain so it was busy .staff were very pleasant and sat us at our table quickly. Great looking pub/restaurant good choice of food and drink .took a while for starters to arrive and pavlova which had took much icing sugar and took a few mins to break as it was very hard are the only reason it's not a 5star review.will definitely go back .

We also had a medium wine, pint of beer and half a cider. Cost with a tip was £100. Everything was delicious a d freshly cooked/prepared. Service was friendly and efficient. Brasserie Blanc - Chichester is an upscale French-inspired restaurant located in a secluded square at the heart of historic Chichester. The brasserie offers a sophisticated yet relaxed dining experience, serving classic French dishes with a modern twist, all devised by celebrity chef Raymond Blanc. With ample space for al fresco dining and its proximity to shops and the Chichester Festival Theatre, it's an ideal spot for a leisurely lunch or pre-theatre meal.
We had a lovely meal here on a Saturday evening, the restaurant is located away from the town centre but is only a 10 minute walk from the train station. We were promptly greeted at the door and seated, all the staff were very friendly and attentive. The menu has plenty of options, we had starters, mains and desert and even tried escargot (snails) which were surprisingly pleasant and I would recommend trying. Everything we ordered was delicious and we will certainly return again to try some other things on the menu. The food was amazing as was the wine, add a great atmosphere and service - I would highly recommend.

After visiting Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons last year we thought we would give Brasserie Blanc a try. We were impressed, great lunchtime menu, attentive staff and special offers too - in our case free wine ! Very good on gluten free requirements - chef came to check with me on some of the ingredients.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Chichester branch for an anniversary dinner, we had a Virgin Experience voucher, and I must say, it was an incredible evening! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome from the friendly and attentive staff, making us feel right at home. Even though we had a set menu, there was still plenty of choice, and each dish was absolutely sensational. The flavors were delightful, and it was clear that a lot of thought and care went into each plate. A huge thank you to the entire kitchen team and the front-of-house staff for providing such a fabulous experience. I can't wait to return and enjoy another wonderful meal!

Quite nice food, the menu has options that I think will appeal to many people. The service was fine. It was very quiet when we visited at 7pm on a Week day. They do quite good offers so worth signing up
Grant B — Google review
Was here around seven weeks ago and had a good experience however not so this time. The brasserie was not busy yet the two serving staff seemed to struggle. It was difficult to get their attention and service was slow, very slow. When staff were at the table, they were polite and friendly. We had drinks vouchers but the drinks on offer were not available, we were offered house wine instead. Not quite the same. Four of our party of six chose main courses on the menu that had alternatives. Pine nut & lemon ricotta ravioli was replaced with aubergine. The rhubarb crumble dessert was served with a thimbleful of custard. Given the price of the food and drinks, Brasserie Blanc needs to do much better!
Mr B — Google review
We were extremely well looked after by your welcoming staff. The food was delicious and very well presented. The wine was delightful and well chilled. We will be recommending Brasserie Blanc to all our friends and family.
Sue P — Google review
We booked a table here as we were going to Chichester and a friend recommended it. to be honest the food was pretty disappointing, almost poor. It wasn't absolutely terrible but it was quite expensive so they should have been able to produce something better. for example I had the sea bream as a main and it was pretty uncooked on the skin side which should probably have been crispy but on the flesh side it was completely overcooked, burnt and all of the fish was like rubber really. my wife and I both had starters and main courses off the a la carte menu and it was all quite underwhelming. so we skipped dessert and the total bill was about £100. We normally go to the ivy down the road and it's not a lot more expensive so I guess we will be returning to the devil we know in future. also, this restaurant doesn't take cash and I'm always looking to offload some cash whereas The Ivy is happy to take any payment that is available.

Côte Chichester itself offers a delightful all-day dining experience with a wide selection of French-inspired dishes in a relaxed setting.
Popped here for lunch and we chose from the set menu which for 3 courses for £22.95 is such a bargain. The food was excellent, the ambience lovely and the service was impeccable. Can't wait to go back soon.

Been to this place many many times over the last few years. Never had any issues really until my last. My usual order of pork belly came out looking as tasty as ever but as I started eating it under half way through I was disappointed to find that in fact most of it consisted of just fat and no meat. First time this has happened but the way my server dealt with it was disappointing to say the least She exclaimed that sometimes depending on the cut its fatty and nothing they can do about it. As bluntly as that. No offer of a new one or trying to resolving it to a satisfactory standard just a robotic ‘we can take 10% off’ and that I could order more food but will take a while to come out’ the 10% went back on the discretionary tip anyway that I wasn’t pedantic enough to request it being taken off.

My first impression of the restaurant was very dispiriting. I could see 3 members of staff in formal/ business dress in an area adjacent to us having a meeting in full view of the lunchtime clientele, and the female member of the team was literally drinking out of a 1.5 litre San Pellegrino bottle. Not a great standard to set for the staff, nor a great impression to make on the guests.I raised the issue with the duty manager who identified her as " the top boss" and I asked that my concerns around the poor standard be relayed to her . The person concerned came over and said that she understood I was upset that she was drinking water out of a bottle; I wasn't upset at all, I was offended by sloppy manners and sloppy behaviour by in a restaurant that usually has excellent standards. She said she was just finishing her water- I suggested she use a water glass in a restaurant. Totally nonplussed she turned and walked away. Aside from that lunch was excellent. Our set menu of 2 courses was delicious and very good value, our waiting staff were all polite, attentive and efficient ( not just to my companion and me but to other tables nearby). A shame the visit started so dismally, but the staff and the food lifted the experience for us.

Lovely place and such friendly staff! Especially the floor manager bless her. The food was really fresh and hot!. The atmosphere was amazing which helped with a little wait waiting for the dinner but it was packed out! The floor manager was so lovely and kept us in the loop with what was happening with our food but no bother they were all rushed off there feet. Will be going there again

From entering this restaurant, no one came to welcome us to a seat bearing in mind the place wasn’t busy at all. My mum went up to the bar and asked if we may be seated at a table to which a lady showed us over. Considering the restaurant wasn’t busy, the service was shocking slow and our food requests and drink requests weren’t acknowledged. Two of my family members asked for additional toppings on their pizzas, to which these weren’t added. We asked for table water, to which this wasn’t given until we asked again. There wasn’t any attention to detail for example ‘would you like any salt or pepper or sauces or parmesan cheese etc’. There seemed a lack of any real direction it felt like some staff were all on a training day or they’d rather be at home. There wasn’t anyone taking a clear direction or lead on the 5 or so tables that were occupied. When the bill came over, we were charged for additional toppings that we didn’t receive. We told our original waitress about this and she went off, got distracted and started serving other tables? We then told another waitress, anyone would think she was volunteering and not being paid, there wasn’t any personable skills towards us? Eventually, they took these extra charges off the bill and we paid and left. Overall, the food was good and tasted fresh. The bar man seemed like the only efficient member of staff and the new strawberry drink tasted lovely. I wouldn’t come to this restaurant again due to the service recieved.

I've had the most lovely, relaxing lunch at ASK Italian. My server, Charlie, was incredibly accommodating of me being vegan and gluten-free, which I appreciate is an awkward combination. He was very helpful & did everything with a smile. I had the lentil ragu, which was hearty, and their new side of greens with a balsamic glaze. The sarti pink spritz was a free April perk that arrived in my emails and added to the holiday feeling, as I'm currently down for a short break.

Lovely meal for my sons 12th birtbday. The man behind bar (think his name was Leesun) put together some candles for my son and bought this out singing happy birthday with his pudding, this was very sweet. Food was lovely and came out nice and fast. A nice chilled environment to have dinner. I had a 30% discount with blue light which was handy and then was given another 10% off for it being my sons birthday! Will definitely come again 😃

My family and I went to ASK Italian for dinner on Tuesday. From our arrival until we left we were welcomed by a friendly and well mannered waiter who offered us complimentary shots of lemonade while we were choosing our food. Despite the restaurant being quite busy due to graduation ceremonies, our waiter was able to cope with the stress and provide excellent service. The food was delicious and when I ordered the Chocolate Falls dessert our waiter even poured the toffee sauce over the dessert for me. This was our first time going to this restaurant and we will definitely be going back!

We are here on the spur of the moment for lunch and had a fantastic meal. Restaurant was bright and stylish and the food really lovely. I was not very familiar with Thai food but had the mixed starter platter which we thought might be expensive at nearly £10.00 per person but we were really pleased with this choice. Friendly staff helped us choose a main. My daughter had an amazing duck dish with lovely Jasmine rice. Now converted to Thai food in preference to Chinese and although we very rarely eat out I would return. Thank you for a lovely meal

This place is just wonderful! Not only were the staff friendly and attentive, but the restaurant was gorgeous, and the food was amazing! I had the thai green curry, which was probably the best I have ever had. The curry broth was so flavourful and really not too spicy. I chose prawn as my protein and got 9 perfectly cooked prawns. The veggies in the broth were cooked to perfection, especially the courgettes. I chose the sticky rice, which went so well with the dish. For starters, I chose the puffed tofu (tofu tord) - this was excellent; super crispy and flavourful with a gorgeous sauce. For dessert, I had the Thai pancake (Phuket Delight), which tasted insanely delicious. It was sweet and salty and fantastically sticky. It came with ice cream, which i didn't realise until afterwards as I ordered a scoop of pistachio ice cream on the side. The pistachio ice cream was fantastic. The staff were kind, patient, and attentive.

We had my sons birthday meal here a couple of weeks ago. Despite not mentioning it to the staff they must have overheard us talking about it and bought over a pudding with a candle in it singing Happy Birthday which was a lovely touch. Welcomed by smiles all are round by the staff. Fast service and didn’t have to wait long for food either. Nice ambience and great deco. Food we ordered were good but the pad Thai noodles was quite sweet in my opinion. Too wet and on a salty side. No Thai dessert ie sticky rice mango or fried banana when we were there. Only ice cream. This place great for big event. Parking is just at the back of restaurant. Pub and other restaurants near by. Walking distance to high street.

Mother and I visited the Dora Carrington and Patterns exhibition and thoroughly enjoyed it. A wonderful building with modern amenities and a delightful exhibition space - well curated and I learnt a lot about an interesting artist. Looking forward to visiting again - to explore both the existing collection and subsequent exhibitions.

Pallant House Gallery was fantastic. The natural light really brought out the textures of the artworks and the quiet part of Chichester made the visit even more special. I enjoyed walking through the beautiful streets of Chichester city before and after the gallery. The special exhibition was brilliant and I was so absorbed in everything that I forgot to take pictures. Afterward, we enjoyed tea and cake at the lovely café with the option to sit inside or outside. A wonderful place for families.

A friend recommended this gallery for our visit to Chichester and I'm so glad they did - it's a real find. The building is lovely - part heritage house and part modern extension but they flow into each other seamlessly. The volunteers are friendly and helpful. The permanent collection of mostly 20th century British art is quite extensive and contains some very important and engaging pieces. We were also fortunate to be able to see the huge temporary exhibition of artists' pictures of other artists (on until November 2nd 2025) which has lots of interesting works.

Fantastic, light and airy building with something to see for everyone. The natural light really made texture and fine detail come to life. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The cafe was exceptional and it was a beautiful day to sit outside in the courtyard. I came to see the Maggi Hambling Nightingale exhibition, breathtaking. The John Piper paintings in the museum collection were such a bonus for me. Also worth saying what an amazing bookshop they had, so many books floor to ceiling.
Andy D — Google review
Excellent mid sized gallery specialising in British 20th-century art, alongside some contemporary work. The permanent collection is displayed in a Georgian townhouse which has a very peaceful atmosphere. I found the staff to be lovely and helpful. Some very strong and recognisable works here.

Part is set in a beautiful early Georgian house, amongst the best in Chichester. It's one of the best places in the UK to see high quality 20th century art. Unfortunately the Georgian hose is virtually empty except for the artwork and so has lost its character on the inside. The £17 entry charge is a bit steep for what there is there unless you have a real interest in the sort of art they have on display

Ate at the Barn last night and just had to write a review. The food was absolutely delicious. We shared 5 plates between 5 of us and each one was a joy. I especially liked the whipped feta and the tempura broccoli but everyone enjoyed the whole meal. You could tell that the ingredients were well sourced and thoughtfully put together. The waitress could not have been more upbeat and helpful. Even when we were the last to leave, we were not at all hurried and were even told we could stay for more drinks if we wanted. Really enjoyable evening.

We were there for the wine bar for the first time, I have been for coffee and cake many a time, we were greeted and shown to our table. We chose to sit outside and it was glorious. The whole place is so stylish and I love the eclectic pieces from the furniture to all the cutlery, glasses and cutlery. The food was fresh and tasty. We will be back.

Visiting Chichester for a mooch and looking for a place to have lunch in the sun we happily discovered 'The barn Chichester'. Staff were friendly, inviting and not overly rude like the other reviews have left.. I was very surprised to see such comments left on other reviews as everyone seemed lovely. Relaxed atmosphere with a quirky decor, we didn't book but staff were more than happy to find seating for us outside where we'd requested to be ideally. I was told recently they've updated their menu, everything seems delicious. I picked the Sourdough cheese, leek toastie with chutney on the side and my other half picked the brioche bun with egg and bacon. Really yummy and we'd happily come here again on our next visit to Chichester. The price is very reasonable and expected for an independent business, I have been to chain cafés with similar prices and less tasty food so absolutely nothing to complain about with the pricing. There was a service charge included in the bill but we were happy to pay this. Upon paying i mentioned I would leave a review as it means so much to a small businesses, I can't stress how lovely this hidden gem was to find. A cinnamon bun was also picked up to go upon leaving! Thank you very much for the experience, Katelyne x

A basic pub with quite a small selection of beers. Friendly staff but preferred to sit outside due to bad language from some of the customers.

Have been going to this pub for years, it has been Pub #1 on my Chichester pub crawl for the past decade before I moved away. Recently re-visited as I was in the area and it's kept its charm. Welcoming and busy, it's a great pub. I paid over £10 for two bottles of cider however, which I think is a bit much, I think around £4 each is the correct price in this current climate, especially at a time when pubs are wanting people to come, stay and drink multiple drinks. The placement of the pub is another highlight however, with a view of the canal and access to some lovely walks. On the other hand, I would advise this pub to become dog friendly. As it is situated so close to the canal walk, dog walkers ending a stroll along the canal would be a good new customer clientele for this pub.

Pub
The Earl of March is a charming gastropub located in the picturesque South Downs. It offers a modern English menu featuring locally sourced seafood, making it a top choice for fine dining in Chichester. Situated near Goodwood Racecourse, it's popular among visitors of the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The pub boasts exquisite cuisine with dishes like pork with honey roast pumpkin and pan fried sole with pomme anna.
We were very impressed by the food and staff at the Earl of March today. We both had the scallops starter from the al a carte menu and the dish was perfectly cooked with delicious flavours We then each had an open sandwich, these were al a carte sandwiches at normal pub prices, I had Brie, beetroot and homemade pickle, my husband had beef, both came with pickled vegetables, remoulade and brilliant homemade chunky chips that as delicious as roast potatoes, the sandwiches were thoughtful, tasty and great value for money, even though we were full we couldn’t resist sharing the sticky toffee pudding dessert and we weren’t disappointed it was gooey but light, with great ice cream on a bed a crunch. The staff were friendly, there was a lovely fire burning and I expect we’ll be back.

We went for lunch yesterday and had a fab meal. The fish finger open sandwich was delicious with proper pieces of fish! Not a normal fish finger at all! Brie sandwiches were also delicious. Everything was well presented. Great coffee too. And super friendly service. We also bought some bread to take away. Would highly recommend!

Well deserves 5 stars. Beautiful surroundings set off the perfect pub experience. Well worth a visit! Edit. Just returned for a second visit. This time for dinner. And wow! The food was out of this world. The quality of the meals would not ve out of place in a high end London restuarant. One our party was vegan and while there qas not a vegan option on the menu, the chef was more than happy to make a meal to suit. Superb all round.

The owners of this restaurant are absolutely brilliant. They were fantastic in accommodating our autistic child guest. Their understanding of her needs went above and beyond. As guests we were served an amazing range of food . The smells and artistry that came on every plate was a delight . Home made breads butters and ice creams were outstanding. Thank you so much for a wonderful relaxing and caring evening. We will definitely return.

We went there because of the sandwich we saw online. And we were not disappointed. Everything locally produced. The steak sandwich was amazing. My kid had a fish fingers sandwich and was a 3 fist cod size pieces. You cannot eat as a normal sandwich. Fork and knife... Staff was very polite and place is immaculate. Definitely recommend anf would like to visit again.

Literally popped in whilst on a centurion way walk, out of curiosity. Manager was friendly, helpful and informative about the area. We were offered opportunity to refill our water bottles with chilled water. We spotted homemade loaves of soda bread for sale, and bought one to try. VERY delicious, I cut it up & have frozen sections. It freezes well and is delicious...I'll definitely buy another if I find my way there again. Views outside over The Trundle are great.

Nice country pub and main course choice looks quite pricey, but pretty sure that they are good quality. We had a family lunch there on a week day. Their light lunch menus is really reasonable priced. Enjoy my posh open sandwich and fancy cut vegetables and chips on the side. Kids menu is pretty big potion and quite health with vegetables. Staff provided friendly efficient service. We enjoyed our lunch here. Free on site parking. Small beer garden next to the car park. Nice view of the field from the beer garden. Recommend to all.

I'm a foody and I will be the first to let restaurant staff know if something is not good with my food. The food here is AMAZING. The Earl of March's chef puts The Ivy to shame. There is simply no comparison. Not only it's beautifully presented and yummy just to look at but it's SO tasty. I've been here several times now and never been let down so I thought it was time to leave a review. The food is not cheap but it's worth it. It's an experience you won't forget.

Fishbourne Roman Palace and Gardens in Chichester is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. It is the largest residential Roman building found in Britain, featuring an impressive collection of in situ mosaics dating back to around AD 75-80. The palace also boasts recreated Roman-style gardens with authentic plants from the Roman period. Visitors can explore the vast excavated villa, marvel at the floor mosaics, and participate in learning workshops.
This was a great glimpse into Roman History. The museum gives an interesting timeline, with many artefacts. The mosaics are amazing and you can see them in situ quite close up from walkways. Incredibly what you see is only a fraction of the Palace. The gardens are lovely and there is parking and a decent cafe.
Debbie M — Google review
Amazing place! First you walk through a small museum with the information boards and the artefacts displayed. Then you follow a walkway to admire the mosaics. After that there's the garden with information boards about the palace that dominated this place 2000 years ago. Just fascinating!
Patricia S — Google review
Must see place if you are interested in roman Britain. Big collection of the artefacts and lots of floor mosaic to enjoy. The museum itself is not dog friendly, but if you take turns, you can spend time in the gardens.
Gr3at W — Google review
Visiting the Roman Palace at Fishbourne was a truly wonderful experience. The site is perfectly maintained, and the reconstruction of the gardens is beautiful, created in line with what is known about Roman culture and society. However, what impressed me the most were the mosaics inside. They are preserved in a remarkable way and offer a fascinating and varied insight into Roman artistic culture and the use of mosaic decoration. The archaeologists have done an outstanding job in replicating what life must have been like at the time, making this place an authentic and captivating journey into the past. Absolutely worth visiting.
Laura B — Google review
My brain wasn't ready for the astonishing existence of this place and the profound secrets that it holds. It is literally mind altering to see it and read the information so excellently provided, and, as we did, to meet an eminent architect who happened to be working as a volunteer that day, who allowed us to handle artifacts that were handled by Romans 2,000 years ago! The incalculable scope and importance of this ancient site, which was only uncovered in the mid-1960s, has left me reeling. I can't stop thinking about the courage, ambition, brilliance, discernment, and audacity of the Roman conquerors of the first century, (and wondering what has become of us as a species since then.) Don't miss it!

Updated 20250626 Another lovely day here. Again a fabulous informative really by a staff member (didn't catch her name sorry) with much embarrassment when I identified an amphora handle as a knee joint. Hohum. Also lovely to talk to the conservator who had just finished fixing a delightful little jet hair pin. Just wonderful to spend time with people who love their jobs. Calm informative and peaceful this place. Informative boards in the museum, lovely to walk over the various hypocausts and mosaics. As a school trip we were entertained and educated by Tom whose encyclopaediac knowledge of Roman clothes and armour brought the artifacts to life. Some of the signs are a bit tired hence the four stars, so folks get yourself down there to give more money to this place so they can update the boards. Little cafe is lovely, doing ice cream and very good coffee. I mean VERY good coffee.
G H — Google review
Absolutely incredible to see 2000 year old mosaics! The staff are so passionate about the experience and the purpose of the museum. I felt so welcome. Yes, the interpretation is a little dated but most people don’t realise how expensive it is to refresh. Balanced against the overall costs that the organisation must face in conservation, buildings maintenance and staff pay, they are really doing the best they possibly can. I would go every week to support them if I could. I booked online, and opted to gift aid my ticket. On arrival the lovely lady told me that this meant my ticket was now an annual ticket.
Lyndsay R — Google review
Great place for the UK if you want to see some real roman finds. Well presented little museum, but the star is the hall built over the roman palace, with some noteworthy mosaics and informative panels to understand more about the original building. Decent cafe and shop on site too.

Had a fabulous weekend family gathering of 15 people and 4 dogs. The rooms and the cottages worked perfectly. All the dogs were welcome. The food was delicious, and the service excellent. All the staff were friendly, efficient and professional. A great place to stay.

We had a lovely one night stay here with our two dogs celebrating our wedding anniversary on their 'Muddy Paws' package, which included dinner. I'm not sure if our room was upgraded but we stayed in Flint Cottage, which had a super king bed and a lounge area, which was very charming. The staff had decorated the bed with petals and candles which was a very sweet surprise, they even left us a card on the mantelpiece. There is a little garden at the back where you can sit with a drink and admire the view of the fields beyond, it was so peaceful and relaxing. All the staff were super friendly and helpful and Sash deserves a special mention for being so lovely and bringing us espresso martinis!

Lovely country pub in a gorgeous village. Food was very good and excellent value with the Wednesday deal. We stayed in one of the cottages which was lovely, super old and cute. Lovely outdoor area too. Our one slight hindrance was that storage was lacking - no drawers for our clothes and the wardrobe was inaccessible! As we were there for a wedding we missed being able to hang up our dresses. But probably fine for just one night. Overall a wonderful stay!

Stayed here whilst attending a wedding. The staff were amazing, the American lady who settled us in was fab! The lady who served our breakfast on sunday was also so friendly and accommodating :) loved the residents garden, so peaceful and lovely view. The breakfasts were gorgeous! Lots of little extras included at breakfast- 10/10 for breakfast! Loved the cookies in the room, bed was so comfy, products were gorgeous. The pub itself was beautiful. Great beer gardens

Just returned from a short stay at the Royal Oak in East Levant and couldn't be happier. We stayed in Flint Cottage, which was perfect, cosy, comfortable, and ideal for a quick getaway. The food? Absolutely top-notch. Far beyond typical pub fare, every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Service was brilliant throughout, and we want to give a special shout-out to Jess. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she even made an excellent pink gin. A real star! Thanks to all the team at the Royal Oak for making our stay memorable. We’ll be recommending this gem to friends and family.

Disappointing Food Experience, Despite Good Service. My partner and I recently went out for dinner at the Royal Oak, a visit we'd both been really looking forward too. To start on a positive note the staff were great, friendly and attentive , which we appreciated. My partner had the burger, which was just OK, nothing particularly memorable but not bad either, Unfortunately my meal was a real disappointment. I ordered the pie of the day, which was steak and ale with mash. The beef inside was cut into very small pieces and was incredibly dry with no sauce or gravy at all. Something i had never encountered a steak pie before. there was also no taste of ale and it honestly seemed like it might've been left over from the Sunday roast. The pastry overcooked and dry as well. The mash was grainy, clearly not properly mashed with no butter or seasoning and the accompanying vegetables were just as bland, again lacking any seasoning. Overall the food was very underwhelming and not up to the standard we were expecting, its a shame as the staff were good and we had hoped for a much better experience.

Really warm and friendly welcome, with prompt and efficient service. Great food, dinner and breakfast excellent with very good menu choices. Comfortable rooms in charming traditional pub. Quiet village plus bonus of a few Low flying Spitfire passes. Hope we'll go again soon.

One of the best restaurants I have been to so far. I am a fan of posh restaurants with good and different food. This was a gift reservation for my best friend and we had the best time. Most delicious scallops from around the area, the steak was perfectly cooked and the starters were yummy! The bill at the end was unexpectedly low in comparison with other restaurants with poor food quality. Amazing service and nice staff definitely will be returning for more meals! 🤍

Beautiful dining experience! We chanced upon The Ivy while in Chichester for the weekend and seeing the positive Google reviews, decided to give it a go. It was quite a busy (and rainy) day when we went, so perhaps that’s why service was on the slow side but everyone was always friendly and very welcoming. We had a lovely meal — Amber was our server and she was absolutely fantastic. Very personable and always had a smile on her face, which really added to the experience. Despite being busy, the whole team was on the ball with the service. We never had to wait long or try to get anyone’s attention, which made for a smooth and enjoyable evening. The only downside was the condition of the venue itself. Some of the booth seats had duct tape on them, and the backs were looking a bit grotty. The walls and other seating areas also looked a little tired. It’s a shame, as this is a brilliant place to eat and we've had many great meals here. A bit of a refresh would go a long way in matching the quality of the food and service.

I've had a meal here a number of days in a row in an attempt to get loads of healthy food after visiting hours of the hospital (20h). Fresh, crispy, unctuous, smooth, elegant, sharp flavors, etc are all available depending on your choice of the menu. Loved it. There are individual differences between cooks but all good. Could relax here and then continue on. The servers are friendly and one connected really well and made me feel welcome enough to return. After my last meal before repatriation homewards my favorite server gifted me this meal sending all their love to my partner with a gift box added. I didn't expect it, it made me happy, such gestures are so precious. Thank you Esmai! I'll remember you! I appreciate this a lot!

Delicious food. Free green tea is a nice bonus. Nice place, good food, friendly service, reasonable prices. Some of the tables have a cafeteria-like layout, which doesn't allow for an intimate atmosphere. Some tables are separated by dividing walls, creating a cozy and more intimate setting. It can get very loud here, and the noise level is so high that it makes conversation difficult. We've been here many times. We've tried various dishes, dined in, and ordered takeout. Everything has always been tasty.

We had to wait over 40 minutes for our meals to be served which was slow considering they had plenty of staff in the kitchen. I asked for peppers to be added and specifically said not chili peppers but they put chili peppers on the pizza and still charged me for them! I like pizza express but i will not be going back to this one.

Normally a great experience at other Pizza Express restaurants. However at Chichester 30 minute wait for Olives. Finally when main course arrived burnt lasagna or possibly cremated. Vegan bowl consisted a bowl of rocket leaves four tomatoes and a hand full of seeds. Possibly the worst restaurant meal I have ever experienced.

Have been to Pizza Express 50+ times over the years and have eaten at Chichester a fair few times which has always been good. Turned up today Friday 11th around 18:45, had not booked as was travelling back from Wales so wasn't sure on time, based on variabilty of traffic. Walked in and saw there were a fair few tables unoccupied. 2 members of staff saw us waiting and just carried on with what they were doing, I get that they were probably dealing with tables but a basic "I'll be with you in a minute" or just an acknowledgement that we were there would have been nice. Stood there for about 3 minutes waiting, it's as if we were invisible. Turned around and walked out and went next door to Wagamama where we got a warm welcome and seated straight away. Service is as important as the food for me and Pizza Express has badly let me down today. Not sure what the issue was today but it was no where near what I'm used to.

First time dining in Chichester branch. It was quiet when we came in as it was before dinner time. Good thing as food came out quick and hot. Our server attended to us right away and laid out all the condiments we asked for. BBQ burnt ends under ROMANA. Thin crust pizza, tomatoes, dots of bbq meat and cheese. Canneloni was served on a hot plate. Perfectly browned cheese topped the pasta. Luscious sauce tomatoey and creamy. So full. 😅

Tried the Achari Gosht, and it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced. The restaurant had a great atmosphere with a warm and welcoming vibe. The service was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. One thing I noticed was the number of locals dining there—a sure sign of a great spot! Will definitely be back.

The vibe is immaculate, takes ma back to India, even though I’m from South of India most of my studies were in North. The best place to visit if you are homesick and the staff is very welcoming. Overall, had one of the best time after coming to the UK.

Best Indian food I’ve ever had! Chicken pulls apart tenderly, lamb and vegetarian options are also very very good. The staff & owner are always super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place, definitely in my top 3 restaurants around Chichester.

Pub
The Duke & Rye is a fantastic pub in the heart of Chichester. It has an amazing atmosphere and great food, making it one of the most popular places to visit in the city.
We attended the Duke for a private party. It's an amazing pub set in a church. The decor is great, loads of seating and a great choice of drinks 👌. Located opposite Chichester Cathedral.
Sandy T — Google review
Mind blowing venue which i wasn’t aspecting. Very impressive architecture and decor because it’s church converted in bar. Stained glass windows awesome and ceiling too. The bar guy was friendly and happy to help kinda person so do great service. Happily recommend to anyone who wanna have great time in very pleasant atmospheric place.

Venue dazzled us - great food, great vibes, and a setting that practically begs for a return visit. Only hiccup: the kebab meat had a dramatic flair for overcooking. We forgive it. Just this once.
James O — Google review
The Duke and Rye is a fantastic pub with a really unique charm. The layout and atmosphere are amazing, especially considering it was formerly a church. The large space makes it feel grand, and the interior looks incredible — really adds to the overall vibe. Drinks are reasonably priced, too. The only reason I’ve given 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the state of the toilets. Unfortunately, the smell tends to drift into the pub, and they could definitely be cleaner.
Emma W — Google review
Dropped by The Duke for drinks and was seriously impressed - not just by the drinks, but by the stunning building itself. This place has real character and charm! Didn’t try the food this time, but the service was great and the vibe was spot on.
Sara I — Google review
Very Dog Firendly, Nice artcheture, pleasant food selection, with an okay price. Unfortunately, when we visited on a week day lunchtime, ourselves and other customers had a 20-30 minute wait on food with no warning or explanation. There were only 8 customers in the entire building. One customer complained as they had ordered food 10 minutes before we had come in and we had already waited 20 for just a sandwich. We then overheard the staff in kitchen being rude about the customers, who complained about the waiting times.
Alexander S — Google review
Quite the novelty to have a beer inside the church. Interesting architecture and stained glass windows, fun facts too. Beer was fine, as was the food, shame they were missing some items from the menu. Engaging landlady.
Steven A — Google review
Absolutely loved my visit to Duke & Rye! Nestled in a charming old church, the atmosphere is both cozy and breathtaking, thanks to the stunning stained glass windows that add a magical touch. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The drinks selection is just as impressive, with a variety of local ales and spirits to choose from. It's the perfect spot for an evening out on Chichester center. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place with character and drinks! There is a pool table

Pizza restaurant
Franco Manca Chichester is a delightful spot that truly captures the essence of great dining. Nestled in a prime location, this restaurant boasts an enthusiastic team dedicated to providing excellent service and mouthwatering pizzas. Guests rave about their favorite dishes, particularly the number 5 pizza, which showcases authentic Napoletana flavors reminiscent of beloved classics. The atmosphere is welcoming, making it perfect for both casual lunches and special gatherings.
Honestly very blown away buy Franck Manca! Compared to other chains like pizza express and ASK this blows them out the park. Pizzas are great and the general vibe of the place and staff are great.
James W — Google review
First time in Chichester and to this restaurant chain. Service was excellent. Attentive and informative without being intrusive. Tom's knowledge and customer based skills were excellent. The pizzas were lovely too and big enough that I couldn't finish mine. Prices were good. Best thing for me personally was their attentiveness to allergies as their allergy sheet went beyond the standard ones and I was able to eat with confidence that the food was not only delicious but safe. They have a great loyalty scheme via an app but sadly their branches aren't that close to where we live. We would definitely recommend.

A lovely welcome for this solo diner. Pizza seriously one of the best I've had. Charming view over the cross. Nice to watch the bustle. Will definitely be back next time. Special shout out to my server, John.

Can't beat a good pizza but the Tiramisù was amazing.. Buratta was slightly questionable but we're not in Italy..

We have come here a couple of times now and the service from the same lady is absolutely fantastic. She cannot do enough for you whilst looking extremely busy and slightly over worked! She was still super happy and positive and couldn’t do enough. Always a positive experience here!
Jake R — Google review
Stopped by for a Saturday evening pizza. Turn up and take your chance, no reservations. Service was good and friendly. Pizza arrived quickly. It looked good but the base was slightly underdone, particularly towards the middle. The tiramisú had good taste and texture. The place was noisy even though there were no large groups. Franco Manca has a loyalty scheme. Visit six times and buy a pizza. Input receipt codes into the App and get your next pizza free.

Phoenix Dining is a delightful culinary gem that brings together the vibrant flavors of Northern Chinese and Nepalese cuisine. Founded by a passionate couple who share a love for food, this restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere where locals can gather to savor unique dishes crafted with care. Each visit promises an exceptional dining experience, making it a must-try spot in Chichester for anyone looking to indulge in delicious meals and enjoy great company.
I’m going to be travelling to Nepal in October with my brother in law and wanted to give him a taste of Nepalese food. The manager is from Kathmandu, they have other asian food but we went for a selection of the Nepalese food on offer. We shared a starter which is a favourite in Nepal vegetable Mo Mo’s and then for the main we shared some lamb and vegetables dishes, not too dissimilar to Indian food but with more subtle spices. Loved it will definitely go back they do a Nepalese special on Thursday unfortunately it was Wednesday.

Had a fabulous lunch at Phoenix Dining today. It's owned and run by a young husband and wife team, who bring a wonderful blend of Nepali and Chinese food cultures together to create interesting and flavour-packed dishes. A short, but well-judged menu is on offer, and this place must be the best value in Chichester. Dishes are beautifully presented, and we learned today that they opened in 2021. How brave, considering the economic climate of the time. I think they could produce a range of house sauces and seasoning blends to take away. The flavours are so interesting. They really deserve to do well. I won't hesitate to return when back in Chi. Wishing them every success for the future.

Absolutely the best resturant in Chichester! Superb wine and cocktail selection with a wide range for every price. The dim sum was steamed and flavoursome and the chicken wings were juicy and delicious with the garlic mayo. The main was gorgeous to look at and tasted superb.

Delicious crispy prawns with smoky scallions and chilli, perfectly cooked, followed by Sticky cumin beef with bao buns And wonderful Mixed fried rice. Wonderful wines. This restaurant is a real gem.
Lucy W — Google review
We ate here before going to the theater. I chose the Pre Fixe pre-theatre menu. The crab rolls were a bit creamy and could have used more crab. But my main course was delicious and cooked well. My husband also loved his meal. Dessert was a rice pudding that was more like a creme brûlée and was great. We had a nice glass of wine and finished off with caramel coffees that were yummy. The meal was reasonably priced. I deducted one star for service merely because my husband thought one plate they brought out for appetizers was slightly dirty.

My favourite restaurant in Chichester. It really is a hidden gem, right next to Priory Park and The Harbour Hotel. Delicious Asian food (Chinese and Nepalese) run by a charming husband and wife team. A lot of love goes into the food, always jazz music playing to create a warm ambience and they offer a good pre-theatre set menu, the perfect place to come before a performance at Chichester Festival Thestre, which is a walk away. Highly recommended.

Piddes is a Turkish restaurant known for its exceptional customer service and delicious food. The staff are friendly, attentive, and provide great recommendations. The portions are generous and the food is impeccably prepared, with the pida with sliced beef being a standout dish. Visitors praise the warm welcome upon entering and appreciate the attention to detail in serving families. Despite some wait time for made-from-scratch dishes, guests enjoy the hot and flavorful meals served at Piddes.
Really appreciated the great service, the staff were fantastic. The food was exceptional with generous portions. Will definitely be back here soon

Fabulous Turkish restaurant. We were a table of 15 and the service and food were excellent. I am a gluten free vegan and the manager was very accommodating, which I was so grateful for in a ‘meaty’ restaurant. The only downside is their pides ( which I think is Turkish for pizza) wasn’t working/on so that significantly limited the options, especially for the kids. All in all, lovely, clean, great quality and service.
Hayley B — Google review
Visited Pidde's after I saw my friend post about it. Her hubby was very excited for the food. It was quiet when we went. We were sat right away. We waited about 30minutes for our order as they had to make it from scratch. It was a meal good for two. It was served hot. The meat contents would be good for 1 for my appetite. 😁 They have a loo. They accept credit cards. The crew were very lovely and nice. Gave us a jug of water haha and so much hot sauce which was very good. Perfect spice.

Very nice place to visit. The waitress was friendly and polite, with great knowledge of the food they are serving. The food was delicious and made in front of us(open kitchen). We will definitely come back. Thank you for the warm atmosphere .

We had a negative experience on entry, unfortunately. We were on route home with a long drive ahead of us and stopped off to feed our baby dinner, get a drink and some dinner ourselves. The restaurant was empty at 6pm and we walked in to be seated. My husband said are we OK if we just get a drink and before he could even finish his sentence (to say we just need to feed the baby first, then we can work out what food we want etc). They waiter said no, you can only come in if yor order food. This made me feel uncomfortable and not want to even consider ordering our dinner in there. I've never had that before and we were trying to find somewhere quiet to feed our baby his dinner. We ended up going to Nandos next door and the waiter was so lovely and welcoming. We fed our baby, had a refreshing coke and then our dinner. Finally, got back on the road with a happy, sleepy baby. Such a disappointing experience as we love Mediterranean food.
Natalie C — Google review
The moment you step inside, you're greeted with warmth and friendliness that instantly lifts your spirits. And let's talk about the food – absolute perfection! The Turkish delicacies are a true delight, and that pida with sliced beef? It's like a symphony of flavors dancing on your palate, especially when you add those delicious mushrooms. This place has definitely earned a top spot on our list of favorite eateries, and we can't wait to return after our next long beach stroll.

The Fox Goes Free is a 400-year-old inn located in the charming village of Charlton near Chichester. The rustic-chic rooms offer free breakfast and Wi-Fi, and the traditional pub food is a highlight for guests. The inn overlooks Levin Down, providing stunning views of the South Downs National Park. With open fireplaces, oak beams, and bags of character, this picturesque flint pub offers a cozy atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.
It's been nearly 20 years since my last visit and back then it was always known as a good pub. However, I must say after my visit today it wasn't just good it was fantastic. Great staff, very welcoming and cheerful and the food was excellent and arrived at our table within 15 minutes of ordering and it was very busy due to the great weather. I Won't be leaving it that long to return again. Amazing.

This establishment was selected due to its proximity to Goodwood where we were attending an event on late May Bank Holiday Sunday. We stayed for 2 nights with friends and we had a fabulous time. The rooms, the food, the bar and beers plus the staff were fantastic. The manager was very engaging and supported by enthusiastic and attentive staff. I don't know the name but one of the servers was so attentive, she lived in but was exceptional.

An excellent, beautifully presented meal! 5 of us had a superb supper with starters, mains and puds. Every course was delicious. Our favourite starters were the prawn bruschetta, smoked mackerel pate and scrumptious baked Camembert. The lamb rump main was cooked perfectly as was the spicy baked salmon dish. We finished with affogatos which were perfect and all we could manage. The service was friendly and all the staff were knowledgeable and there was a brilliant atmosphere. We always have exceptional meals here whether we visit for lunch or supper. The best food in West Sussex!
Nikki C — Google review
We were returning after many years to this pub with high expectations and lovely memories from last time, however we were met with great disappointment. We waited about an hour for starters, another hour for mains and 20 minutes for dessert. The starter was soup, which was just okay, with initially a very limited choice of other starters (3 other options) after one was unavailable. The smash burger came really watery, burnt, somehow both patties were dry, crumbling apart and the cheese was almost nonexistent. Chips for all dishes were very greasy, cold and uneavenly cooked when arrived. The vegetarian burger was misleading, saying it was a mushroom and pepper burger on the menu (expecting a patty) but receiving a very soggy whole pepper and mushroom shoved between a bun. The strawberry and apple crumble had a very acidic and vinegary tasting base, leaving a weird taste in your mouth. The crumble on top was like a slab of biscuit that had been very unevenly broken up, extremely hard to chew and burnt also. The fact that you’re expected to go up and order everything yourself contradicts the mandatory 10% service fee, which we did not feel was appropriate given our limited and rather unwelcoming interactions with the staff. Overall, very disappointed and would definitely not recommend.

This was our first meal in the UK, and we were looking for fish and chips. The size and quality of the meal was better than expected. Located right on the beach with a nice view of the channel. One word of caution, not about the restaurant, but the parking. Don't make the same mistake we did. You need to pay for parking. We weren't there long and got a ticket.

The Beach has a main inside cafe as well as a seafront outside food truck with plenty of beach view seating! I was peckish for a bacon bap, so I ordered a sausage and bacon bap and as you can see it was absolutely stacked! Great portion sizes here for sure! You receive a buzzer when ordering so that you can find a seat whilst your order is prepared. This truely was a great find and I will definitely be coming here more often in the summer months. I love East Wittering, and The Beach at the beach only makes the town better!

What a great find, welcomed by a helpful gentleman and got a table with a sea view. The staff were all friendly and chatty. The freshly squeezed orange juice hit the spot, followed by a delicious, well cooked, served on a hot plate veggie breakfast. My mum had the potato dish with bacon n sausages, unfortunately it was described as potato slices but was actually broken hash browns but full of bacon and sausage with very well cooked poached eggs. A mum and kids group where there, one child constantly whinning and not addressed by mother which continued for most of our meal, until the traffic warden arrived and the mums left, the childs noise ruined the ambience for us and people around us who were also commenting. Would go back

A busy Monday lunch time and the team were obviously short staffed yet managed to accommodate us and look after us as if they had all the staff members! I had the fish finger sandwich (may as well have been fish and chips with some beautifully baked bread) and the hubby had the moules frites. Never a bigger bowl of moules had we seen!
Michelle C — Google review
Surprised to get a table at 9am on a Saturday… now I can see why. Coffee took 20 minutes to arrive and there were only three other tables in. I ordered French toast and was given plain, floppy bread that hadn’t seen a pan, let alone an egg. My husband’s “overnight oats” were more like “five-minutes-ago oats” - cold, rushed, and sad. The staff at the front were lovely but clearly left to fend for themselves, with no backup from management as there was no one there. Honestly, I left hungry and baffled. Won’t be back - unless it’s to return the bread so it can finish becoming toast.

EDIT: Since becoming The Beach, it doesn’t seem as good as it once was. My previous 5 star and comment below was certainly typical of a usual visit for breakfast for example. However, the latest visit in July 2025 had cold food, ingredients of a lesser quality, low stock and the flat white served in the smallest cup available I couldn’t even get my finger in the handle. Such a shame. I hope things improve but I doubt we’d be back for a while. Always a pleasure to visit!

At Crossbush Beefeater, guests can indulge in a delightful array of grilled meats and international favorites, with a special emphasis on their renowned steaks. The 8oz fillet steak stands out as a crowd favorite, aged for at least 30 days and grilled to perfection. It's served alongside chunky triple-cooked chips, crispy flat mushrooms, juicy grilled tomatoes, and peppercorn sauce.
Had a lovely breakfast today and it was a lovely experience ! Great parking and disabled parking facilities too. Arrived about 8.30 and was greeted by Hazel who was very welcoming and friendly, she was very attentive throughout our breakfast and is a real credit to the Crossbush Beefeater. Many thanks Hazel.

The breakfast took about an hour to arrive , after we’ve finished eating and going our room, one of the server’s (with big forehead) shouted from the middle of the restaurant if we have paid? Even though we told them we were from the hotel across. I don’t know if it was deliberate because three (whites) families left before us, also staying in the hotel but were not asked if they have paid. Unfortunately I was in a wheelchair, so I wonder how fast she was expecting to run. That attitude was unprofessional and i would definitely not be going there ago

The food was ok, the portion was not big and it could have a better presentation. When we arrive the place was almost empty and there was only one lady serving, so it took long than usual to be seated. The steak was good but I expected more (but this is my issue only)
Joyce F — Google review
Popped in for a quick lunch on the way home from Brighton. Place was quite busy. Staff very friendly and we were seated quickly. Drinks ordered and arrived quickly, but took them half an hour to return and take our food order. It was a later lunch, so most tables had left by then, so it was quieter than when we first arrived. We ordered 2 mains - steak (medium rare) and a chicken burger. This took forever to arrive and when it did the steak was medium/well. We were hungry by then and didn't return it as we didn't have the time to wait for another one to be cooked. Chips were well cooked and the chicken burger was tasty. Ordered 2 desserts which arrived much quicker. Overall the meals was edible, but not amazing, but to be fair quite good value for the price. Only seemed to be 2 members of front staff dealing with everything, so understandable why there was such a delay - need more staff.
Karen R — Google review
Review of Crossbush Beefeater (Arundel) Rating: 1/5 Stars (Poor Service and Disorganisation) My recent visit to the Crossbush Beefeater was an incredibly disappointing experience, defined by excessively long wait times and a complete lack of attention from the staff. Upon arrival, we were left standing at the host station for a full 15 minutes before a member of staff finally acknowledged us and showed us to a table. This wait was frustrating, but we hoped the service would improve once we were seated. Unfortunately, it only got worse. We were then completely ignored. We waited for nearly an hour (approximately 55 minutes) and were finally only able to place our order because we had to formally complain to a passing manager or server to get their attention. We felt truly invisible and had to take active steps just to participate in the dining process. The entire team seemed disorganised, creating the impression that no one knows what they are doing. There was no structure or clear assignment of tables, resulting in guests being neglected while staff members milled about. The service experience completely overshadowed any potential quality of the food. Diners should not have to spend over an hour in a restaurant, let alone complain, before even placing a food order. I strongly recommend the management at the Crossbush Beefeater address their staffing and service training as a matter of urgency. In summary, if you value prompt service and attentive staff, you should choose a different dining location.

Waited 45 mins from being seated for them to take my order because she was busy talking to friends to ask me what I wanted. I tried to order pudding at the same time as the main course but was told they won't take pudding orders yet and will be back later. So as you can guess after 1 hr 50 mins from being seated I had enough of waiting and payed my bill in full and complained about the service that was received by the team. I would recommend McDonald's over the service I have received tonight from them

Returning again today to this well, situated and well run Beefeater on the hill overlooking Arundel, the food offer once again great value for money and well presented. Mel, the manager was simply outstanding especially as yet again she found herself having to operate the Bar, restaurant, meet and greet and answering the telephone calls all due to the lack of staff availability. It appears to me just a customer that numerous multi operations have cut to the bone those needed to run the shifts, making those left work almost to exhaustion just to keep up the standards required both by the employers and general public alike. This lady needs recognition and a bonus. We were looked after royally, enjoyed our meal and experience whilst Mel and her team overcame the behind the scenes issues ! Well done ! We will return

Great servers, lovely Fresh hot food, I love the salad bar, I love the Hot Chocolate. you weren't hurried and the servers gave you enough time between courses. We have been there several times and never disappointed

Came here for a meal with family as a day late birthday celebration. Service was friendly and about as fast as can be expected on such a busy day. Food was nice, it's a challenge not to fill up too much at the complementary salad bar. Hardly left room for all my main course. None of us left disappointed and would definitely come back for more.

We were passing and decided to stop for some dinner. We didn't have a reservation, but we did get a table. The menu is large, and every dish sounds very big, not quite the case when you see it. Our waitress was friendly. There wasn't much of a wait for the food. But my husband order said it came with sage and onion seasoned fries, and it didn't. When he pointed this out to the waitress, she said it didn't but did offer to change them. He left it at this stage as all the food was on the table. Before we left, we asked to look at the menu, and we were right. Now surely the chef in the kitchen should know their own menu even if the waitress didn't. His portion was small for half a rack of ribs and a quarter of a chicken. The salad bar wasn't great. I had the dirty bird, and it was very nice, and my daughter had the dirty one, and she liked it. I wouldn't be running back to the place, but it was ok if you needed a quick bite to eat

We were seated by the window, and it was very hot. We had a baby, and the sun was shining right in our faces even with the blinds down. We requested if we could move to a different table, but we weren't allowed. It's a shame as the food was nice, but we were so uncomfortable sitting where we were. We had to put the baby back in his pram to protect him from the sun.

Went to Harvester twice for dinner and once for breakfast while holidaying in pagham from London. Found the food to be very nice, the service received was also very good. The breakfast was literally one of the best breakfast's I have had! The bacon was done absolutely perfect, good sized portions, very appetising. Dinner was equally as good and tasty as breakfast. Would definitely recommend this establishment and would definitely return to eat here if ever in the area!
J H — Google review
Stopped here as we always had good experiences in Harvesters so was expecting the same here. When we arrived we were left standing for between 5 - 10 minutes before anyone could see us. The staff looked under pressure as there was a load of dirty tables waiting to be cleared. We got seated and the friendly staff took our drinks order followed by our food orders. We were invited to use the salad bar and given a bowl each to have what we wanted. Unfortunately the salad bar was mostly empty and the staff didn’t have time to refill it. When my I ordered the original combo, my wife ordered the Dirty Bird and my Daughter ordered the Dirty one with bacon. My wife’s cam out perfect and she enjoyed every bit. My daughters came out without the bacon , but she still enjoyed it. The combo meal was supposed to have onion and sage fries which were not forthcoming. I asked the waitress and she told me I ordered the standard combo and the seasoned fries didn’t come with my order. She did offer to change my fries but I reckoned I must have been mistaken and didn’t want to put her out. The chicken and ribs were tiny and didn’t live up to the expectation. I asked to look at the menu again and point out that the seasoned fries should have been a part of my meal. I asked for an explanation and all I got was sorry, most people just ask for normal fries. That’s no excuse and unless a specific request is made the meal should come a described and not what the cook feels like putting out. At £66 for three mains and drinks it’s a place I definitely will not be rushing back to.

The Bosham Inn, a former vicarage transformed into a rural establishment, offers an inviting atmosphere with its beer garden and traditional cuisine. The staff deliver exceptional service, displaying warmth and friendliness at all times. This exceptional pub serves delectable food and provides excellent service. In addition, it caters to dog owners by allowing pets in the bar area and garden while maintaining a separate restaurant space for those without dogs.
Such a wonderful Birthday Brunch at The Bosham Inn ! Beautiful decor and pub/restaurant. Food was delicious! Robert our host/server was very friendly, happy, helpful and accommodating. Robert went above and beyond to meet all of our needs to make this a special and memorable time. Very lovely atmosphere, calm music, large garden area, large carpark, close to nice country walks and shoreline. Definitely worth a visit!

The starter and main were good. I couldn't eat the pudding - it wasn't for me. It was stodgy, and individual bits all became one by the overpowering sweet coulis. Mash was provided instead of the advertised dauphinoise potatoes. Service was good. Toilets were grim. Overall, the atmosphere was ruined by a busy party and a lot of swearing. Not the best for our romantic Valentine's dinner.

We had an amazing time on Sunday! Our greeting by Alex was very professional and sat us by a window seat with a nice view of the garden. Our server Evie was all smiles, super polite, so friendly and looked after us in every way! Our scallop and crab starter was one of the most interesting dishes I’ve ever had. Our Camembert was nice and hot, full of flavour and the bread perfectly crispy. Our roast, pork, beef sirloin and trio were cooked perfectly, tender, tasty and very generous, and gorgeous cauliflower cheese. It was one of the best roast dinner we’ve had since Christmas! Thank you chefs Rob, Kai and Joe. My dad absolutely loved the Sea Fury Ale! We can’t wait to come back again!

Good food, very cute pub. Has a large amount of seating so we were able to walk in at lunch time without a reservation. Would likely need one for an evening meal though. Has a big car park so plenty of parking. Good selection of beers on tap and also serves cocktails. The pub has a nice beer garden again with a lot of seats so perfect to go to for a summer day. I booked the Bosham Inn for 10 people for my husbands birthday. We were welcomed immediately and seated. Rob was our server for the evening and could not of been more helpful. He was cheery and nothing was too much trouble. He also looked after the 2 little ones we had with us and made sure they had all they needed. The food was amazing and plentiful and very well priced as the quality was perfect. We will definitely be returning again in the very near future. Thanks again for a lovely evening Rob.

We had a really lovely visit to this small pub restaurant recently. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with that perfect mix of relaxed and friendly that makes you feel right at home. What really stood out, though, was the excellent service — especially from Carmelle. She went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt looked after. When our family was ordering drinks and some of them came with a complimentary flapjack, one of us didn’t order a drink and was left without one. Carmelle noticed right away and kindly brought over an extra flapjack so no one felt left out. It was such a small gesture, but it really showed how thoughtful and attentive she was. You don’t get service like that everywhere. Food and drinks were great too — simple, hearty, and clearly made with care. We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for good food, great service, and a warm atmosphere.

We stopped here for lunch during Easter weekend. We were lucky to find a table and although it was really busy, the staff were amazing and we managed to get our orders really quickly. They were very friendly too and the food was super. Best fish and chips we've had in ages.

The Anchor Bleu was very busy on the evening we visited Bosham. At first, we couldn't get a table as it was packed. Good sign, we thought. We decided to have a walk around the waters edge before returning. When we went back, we were given a friendly welcome and a table at the back of the pub. Menues on the chalkboard, with plenty of choice. Service was efficient and came with a smile. Our food was great, especially my sea bass 🤩 Great location too

I’ve been to Bosham many times over the last several years, but never had the opportunity to visit the Anchor Bleu. For this visit, I went with my wife, with the intention of eating there. It’s a busy pub at the centre of a beautiful village, but we had no trouble getting an outside table. I had a dressed crab salad and my wife had their burger. Both were really very good. This is a great pub and if you get the chance, bit and dine.

Our first visit to Smith & Western in Chichester was fabulous. An all round excellent experience, in a very authentic cowboy and western setting. It was like being in a movie set. Carys, who served us was very attentive and helpful, especially regarding food suitable for me with a nut allergy. It was refreshing to hear how much she loved her job and spoke highly of the family owners. The food was very tasty and the toffee apple sundae was glorious. Would highly recommend if you'd like a meal out and different a experience. Thank you to all the staff and chefs.

Staff are amazing and service is one of the best we've been to at a restaurant. Balloons and colouring for the kids to keep them entertained. The interior and exterior kept well within the western theme and the small details all around were great. Great menu and kids choices and all was well priced. Great atmosphere with good country songs. The only thing I dropped a star for was i thought the food could have been a bit hotter as it was luke warm, but then it was Father's Day, so im guessing everything was made before and ready to come out straight away for a quick turnover. Would definitely come back again.

Best Indian meal I've ever had, and I've had a lot. First of all the service was attentive but not overbearing, very polite. The portions were very generous to say the least. The presentation was modern and refreshing, pretty much like the decor. Then the quality was outstanding, full of flavour and well cooked. The cost was a little more (just a little) than some other local indian restaurants, but that is completely justified by the whole experience.

From the atmosphere and greeting when walking in to the food and service it was impeccable. You can tell it is managed well with customer service coming first. I even witnessed the manager commend his staff member when taking an order by memory perfectly. The waiter smiled from ear to ear! Good management! Then the food. Well the presentation was fantastic and the flavour brilliant. I have never had so much lamb in my dish. All I can say is try it and you won’t be dissatisfied. There is a pay and display car park at the rear but free from 8pm

We came to the Crab and Lobster as a recommendation and we really enjoyed it. For us the best is its location, sourounded by marsh/quay water that you can spot crabs, with trails around to walk and get a beer after in the pub. The staff friendly and professional, efficent and knowledgeable. The halibut was served with smashed potatoes, pal choi and a delicious this flavoured sauce, dish well balanced and cooked to perfection. We had the local Twinwoods bubbles to wash it down, which hit the spot and finished off with the rhubarb pavlova, which was so tasty. An absolutely stunning stay at the Crab and Lobster. We stayed in Crab cottage which is a beautiful 2 bedroom cottage with two bathrooms a very comfortable sitting room, a kitchen and lovely secret garden. The beds were comfortable, the views are epic and the little garden is a lovely escape. There were fancy toiletries, a fully equipped kitchen, fresh flowers in the sitting room. The breakfast included in your stay is first class. You can tell everything is painstakingly locally sourced. I had the Full English which came with eggs any style, black pudding, sausage, bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes. There were cereals, fresh juice, tea, coffee toast. Just about anything you could imagine. It was fantastic. All the staff are polite, friendly and helpful and the owner is a fountain of local knowledge. I would highly recommend staying here. And then I come to dinner in the pub. Flawless. You can tell they have the pick from their fish supplier. It was so fresh, beautifully prepared and tasted amazing. I thought the cod and chorizo fish cakes were flawless and the brill with brown crab risotto was one of the best dishes I have had all year. My wife reports that the lobster was the best she has had. There is a good fairly priced wine list. The staff are friendly and helpful. I think this could be summarised as classic gastro pub that lives up to that billing. I highly recommend it.

My first visit to Crab & Lobster, a series of lunches with my father as we look for the good and great of Sussex pubs or restaurants. Haven't been to Sidlesham for 20 years and fond memories of an old pub serving local crab sandwiches... Roll on 20 years and WOW. We sat on arrival and instantly asked if we want a drink and menus. Good wine list and soft drinks available. I went off the table d'hote (fixed menu) and others went pick n mix from a la carte. Fixed menu choices were very good and enjoyed each course, Pork Liver Terrine was superb and then the Cod Loin on a chowder style sauce was one of the best fish dishes I have eaten... then the glutton arrived and I couldn't resist the sound of Rhubarb pavlova with Chantilly cream, delicious and decadent way to finish what was a great lunch. The a la carte choices included an open Kelsey crab sandwich, hot smoked trout and some cod & chorizo fish cakes, clean plates all around! The kitchen team and front of house clearly know what they are doing, gliding and smiling with confidence and charm, big thank you to all. We will be back.

Nestled in the picturesque village of Oving, just a stone's throw from Chichester, Gribble Inn is a charming 16th-century thatched cottage with a rich history. Once the residence of a local schoolmistress, this delightful pub has transformed into both a microbrewery and an inviting eatery over the past four decades. Visitors can indulge in their own-brewed beers like Fuzzy Duck and Gribble Ale, alongside an impressive selection of wines and spirits.
We were invited for lunch by local friends. It was busy and lively. Family, young and old could be seen enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. Good selection of hot food. Quick service with smiles all around by the staff. 3 course meal were served in good timing. Easy parking at the back of the pub. So thumbs up from me.

Review of Christmas Dinner at The Gribble Inn, Oving We recently visited The Gribble Inn in Oving, near Chichester, for an early Christmas dinner, and it was our first time dining here. We usually review breakfasts at various locations, but this time we were excited to experience a festive meal in such a charming location. The Gribble Inn is beautiful, with its original log beams and delightful Christmas decorations, which set the perfect festive mood. As history enthusiasts, we found the age of the building fascinating. Originally not an inn, the property was transformed into the Gribble Inn after the passing of local teacher Rose Gribble in 1980. Local farmer Peter Hague converted the cottage into an inn and, in 1987, moved the local five-barrel brewery to the property. The brewery still operates today, and the ales can be enjoyed at the inn. Our Christmas dinner experience began with a delicious starter of Cured Salmon, Dill & Caper Timbale, and Pickled Red Onion Salad. It was a new dish for me, but I’m so glad I chose it. It was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented—a perfect start to our festive meal. For the main course, we both opted for the Turkey Roulade wrapped in bacon, filled with pork and cranberry stuffing, and served with traditional trimmings. Initially, I thought the portion seemed small for the price, but I was wrong! The dish was hearty and satisfying, with roast potatoes, glazed carrots, parsnips, sausage wrapped in bacon, and a generous serving of turkey roulade. It was absolutely delicious, and I barely managed to finish it. Of course, we couldn’t resist dessert. There were several tempting options, but we both went for the Crème Brûlée, which was simply divine. For £8, it was excellent value, and chocolate lovers will definitely fall for this indulgent treat. We also ordered from the children's menu for our little one, who chose the Fish and Chips. The portion size was perfect, with fish, chips, peas, and tartare sauce, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed. At £8, it was a great deal for a kid’s meal. The atmosphere at The Gribble Inn was warm and inviting, with plenty of original features and a lovely Christmas ambiance. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcomed, offering excellent one-to-one service. Overall, The Gribble Inn proved to be a wonderful spot for our Christmas dinner. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was festive, and the service was top-notch. If you haven’t been here yet and enjoy good-quality food in a historic setting, it should definitely be on your list of places to visit!

Gribble Inn, what an amazing pub near Chichester. We loved absolutely everything about the place. Really welcoming and cosy atmosphere. Really nice selection of food and drinks. Very polite staff, nothing was a problem to accommodate for us. The food was absolutely delicious, definitely worth the money. I couldn't even eat it all, but I had to took take it away as it would be shame to leave behind. They also brew their own beer. It's a must try! Took 1 litre into a plastic bottle with us to enjoy after our journey back home. The outdoor garden was very pleasant as well. Overall, when we are around next time, we will definitely come again. It's such a shame you're 3 hours away from us. Lovely gem for anyone living nearby - 5* is not enough! See you next time ×)

A first visit since 2011 and had no memory of having been before. What a great pub! Such friendly service - we were a party of 8 - throughout our Saturday afternoon stay. We ate in the snug room to the left of the entrance. The food was delicious - we had a wide range of starters and main courses. The gribble microbrewery didn't have too many offerings which was a shame but the Hoppy Days was an excellent beer.

One of the best pubs I’ve ever been to, with fantastic service, atmosphere, and Sunday roast! Loved it—the Yorkshire pudding was just perfect, as was everything else! We were a large group, and the host accommodated us in a spacious private room—superb!

Sunday lunch was one of the best we had for a long time, just don't have breakfast as the portion is XL. The staff were very friendly and couldn't help enough. Also, they have a great range of their own beer, which taste great. The only downside is that we don't live close enough to go to each week!

We visited on a very busy Saturday as part of a large group of friends. All the tables were full and the staff found us somewhere nice to sit 🪑. Our Starters all arrived at the same time as did our mains which was impressive with it being a full house 🏠. Staff were great and dealing with the customers in a friendly and polite manner. Food 🥝🥑 was lovely 🌹 and we recommend the Pork Belly. 🐷. Good choice of beer 🍺 some of them brewed on site.
David W — Google review
Amazing place! Smiley, friendly and beautiful staff. Plenty of staff too I will add! I had the biggest whitebait I've ever seen for a starter. I loved how most of the meals you could have a small or large portion. I had small ham eggs and chippies and it was just right on top of a starter. The price was fair considering there was plenty of lovely staff. We will definitely be visiting again.

Nestled in the heart of Bognor Regis, Cardamom Bay is a vibrant Indian restaurant that beautifully blends modern art with culinary tradition. This compact eatery showcases an array of both classic and contemporary curries, ensuring there's something for everyone to savor. Diners rave about the diverse flavors and aromas that each dish brings to the table, making every meal a delightful experience. The ambiance is warm and inviting, complemented by friendly staff who go above and beyond to enhance your visit.
Superbly presented food and hearty portion sizes. Delighted to find 0% Kingfisher too. I’ve tried so many Indian/Bangladeshi dishes and food at Cardamom Bay is up there with the very best! Jalfrezi Cocktail, Mushroom Rice, Aloo and two Onion Bhaji’s was an absolute feast of one. The guys there allow you to box what you can’t eat to take home so don’t be shy to ask. If you need to escape Butlin’s for some real food then I totally recommend Cardamom Bay.
Neil H — Google review
Let’s get this out the way first and foremost. CURRY HOUSE SIN #1 - charging for papadoms!! £1.10 per. But they broke rule #2 also and charged us for the dips ! £18 gone already. Anyway, Monday banquet meal at £22 per person felt decent value. And the food was good but the next day we all had a bit of gas and one guy even had to go home early from work as it was “coming out both ends”. Sorry to say it but that’s the truth. So mixed feelings on this one, food and service were good but paying for it afterwards felt like an extra none of us wanted.

Consistently excellent food. Best Indian food in the area. Have come here multiple times and it never disappoints. Everything from the taste of the food to the portion sizes to the service makes for a great meal out. Perfect place for special occasions with people who love a curry.

This is by far the best Indian food ive eaten in the area. The portions are generous with lots of succulent meat, really tasty sauces and well presented. Ive been a few times and each dish tastes very different. I wouldn't say its expensive, its worth the money for how sensational it tastes. It is a byo which will save money. 2 people with starters and mains and a soft drink is about 25-30 each. Would recommend.

This place was a find. I have had one of the best, if not the best, curries I have ever had. 5 of us ate and each dish looked, smelled and tasted different. The sides were equally good and rbe Monday Night banquet was excellent value for money. Lovely restaurant setting too. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and there were those little extras here and there that really make the experience. Whilst a relaxed experience, I liked the nod to formality: nothing came out that wasn't served on a plate, even a straw. Really cannot recommend enough.

Came in for a takeaway after a long day out and not wanting to cook. Staff were lovely and very accommodating. 15 minute wait for meals for 3 of us, we were given chocolates while waiting and given a few freebies with our order. Only issue is the food is a bit pricey but it was very delicious! Will definitely be back

We were staying at the Butlins around the corner and I decided to walk into town to find an Indian. They were about a 20 minute walk which I didn't find an issue, when I got back to our hotel the food was still hot. I felt the food was tasty, good size portions. The premises has a nice interior however when I went they hadn't been open long so I don't know how busy it gets but would recommend if your staying near by.

Great food and service. We went on Monday night which is banquet night and a great deal for £22. Was relatively quiet on the night we went which is surprising. Worth a visit and I will be coming back at some point.

Come here often, Sarah regularly serves us, as well as Sid, cannot ask for more of either of them! All of the staff are always welcome and very friendly. There’s a reason we come here all the time and that reason is the staff, couldn’t ask for better people to make us feel welcome and happy to be here.

Great location. Lovely building. Food choice limited especially if you’re wanting to be healthy. Food not great. Chicken bits had definitely been defrosted in the microwave. Squid had virtually no chilli sauce on and halloumi had too much sauce which made it taste off. I left most of it. Staff demotivated with long queues and wait for food. Tables sticky. Such a shame, it could be much much better. I won’t be back.

Stopped off in this pub for a couple of drinks after going to the Pallant Gallery while waiting for the train back to London, we ordered a bowl of chips with our drinks. The chips were £4 pounds and undercooked. After eating what we could, we were spoken to by one of the waitresses who proceeded to tell us without invitation that over in the USA they were dimming the sun by spreading chemicals through chemtrails and that Bill Gates and his cabal were responsible. It was throroughly uncomfortable as we didn't order a side of half baked conspiracy theories with our underdone chips. I would not recommend.
Adam L — Google review
I visited the pub yesterday with my partner. We ordered a steak sandwich & a fish goujon sandwich. My steak sandwich was dreadful. It consisted of two slices of dry bread with four small pieces of meat and a lot of mustard and some dried up tasteless onions. The cost was £10.95. very poor value. The fish sandwich was not a lot better. Although the food was disappointing I can't fault the staff who were very pleasant and helpful. Such a shame the food lets them down.

Nestled in the picturesque South of England, Potager Restaurant has quickly become a beloved dining destination. With its vibrant atmosphere and attentive staff, it offers an exceptional experience for all visitors. Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a delightful garden party organized by the wonderful Catherine, where we indulged in scrumptious canapés and refreshing drinks while enjoying games like French boules and prosecco pong. The friendly team ensured that every detail was perfect despite their busy schedule.
I recently had the pleasure of having lunch at the Potager restaurant for my friends 60th birthday. The food was absolutely delicious. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful. The receptionist at the entrance greeted us warmly and upon our exit. I know the birthday had the BEST time so thank you so much Crouchers 🙏💕. Highly recommend and look forward to booking for the locals night soon.

We booked a table for 4 to celebrate a birthday, we arrived 10 minutes early, we got our drinks from the bar and was then shown to our table. We were the first customers there. We were given menus and left to select our food. 10 minutes later a couple arrived, 5 minutes later another couple arrived and then 3 other couples arrived. Within a few moments every other table was served but not us, we waited and waited, we ended up waiting 25 minutes before we decided to leave. We walked past the staff who said nothing. There were plenty of staff on duty. So well staffed in fact that they had time to stand around chatting. I have never experienced anything like this! I would also like to add that the menu had very few choices, apparently because it was a Thursday! Absolutely dreadful, we wouldn’t go back if they paid us!

We chose Crouchers Hotel as the venue for our Wedding Reception for a variety of reasons. It is a lovely setting by Chichester Canal, easy to get to from Chichester Station by taxi or bus, has beautiful gardens, and we knew the food was exceptional. But most of all because Catherine was very open to our ideas and nothing was too much trouble. She instinctively knew what was needed to make the day go smoothly and happily. And so we had the most wonderful day – the food was excellent, the venue beautifully decorated, the service impeccable, the staff friendly, and everyone had the best time, including us. Catherine took all the stress away from our big day and even took photographs to share. We were allowed to have our own music and to set up a croquet set. It is now somewhere we will go to regularly to remember our special day.

I spoke with the fabulous Catherine about arranging a garden party for the Local Ladies members club and she put on the most fabulous event for me. The canapés were delicious, the drinks were great and the service was amazing. We enjoyed a few games of french boules & prosecco pong (that I brought along). The staff were all very friendly and full of smiles despite having a busy day with other functions going on, they did an amazing job. Cassons Restaurant is a charming modern British fine-dining establishment known for its game and fish dishes, set in a cozy ambiance with a brick fireplace. Located near the Goodwood Estate, this restaurant has been serving efficiently and consistently good food for over twenty years. Guests have praised the friendly and professional staff as well as the delicious roast beef and red wine jus. The restaurant's old-fashioned charm adds to its appeal, making it an ideal spot for special occasions or themed dinners.
Cass,Viv and the waiting staff combined to make our visits fantastic evening. I'd mentioned on the booking form it was my wife's birthday, and the team marked the occasion with a selection box of chocolates to take away, and a beautifully decorated dessert plate with candle and birthday wishes piped in chocolate - both beautiful touches. And the food...was absolutely exquisite. Beautifully presented, with generous portions considering it was fine dining. The flavours were incredible...I had the pork for mains which was superb, my wife had the venison and that was fantastic too.

The chef's skill, talent and imagination come together to produce beautiful tasty dishes. Some unusual combinations, such as gooseberries and pork, show real inventiveness. The service was professional, attentive and unobtrusive. Nicely laid out interior decoration.

Whilst the outside is rather inauspicious, sitting as it does by a busy bypass, inside this is a fantastic restaurant. The service is friendly and welcoming, and the food is some of the best I've eaten and at a great price. Everything on the plate - from first course to dessert - was meant to be there and added to the dish. The plum sauce on the pork was particularly delicious. Highly recommended.

My only slight criticism is that the place could do with a little redecorating but I imagine after the last couple of years that expenditure isn't a high priority. We were travelling to the airport, but wanted a meal along the way. My partner phone up on the off chance to see if the had a table available. The restaurant was full, but they kindly reserved us a table in the bar area. We had Calamari to start with their Homemade Garlic Mayonnaise which was to die for. For the main meals, I had Bass with Soy Sauce Noodles and Pak Hhoi. I enjoyed mine, but it was a bit too salty. My partner had a Homemade Cheese Burger with Bacon and Chips. Nice, small historic pub. Great service on a weekday lunchtime. Food was mostly good, but in our case it was let down by a side salad that had seen better days (yellowing wilted leaves). I met with family here for lunch. We were shown to our table by very friendly staff, but sadly things went down hill. It was a while before our order was taken, and then a very long time before our food arrived, despite the pub being quiet. When the food did arrive, it was 10 minutes between the first plate of food arriving at our table and the last plate. I had the halloumi and roast vegetable salad. The vegetables were seasoned with herbs, and were burnt, giving them a bitter taste and an unpleasant texture. Yet somehow, they were also only lukewarm by the time I got them.

One of the best Spoons that I have been to. Pleasant, clean interior, friendly staff, a great selection of beers, as always, and a lovely view of the cathedral from the outside seating area at the front. Special mention for the young man behind the bar who was super efficient, welcoming and actually knew how to prepare a perfect ice bucket for our wine. i.e. with water in and not just rammed with ice. Give that man a medal. Would love to return.

My wife and I were staying in the TraveLodge around the corner from this great pub, and we stumbled upon it by chance; what a find! On our first evening we just went in for a drink and were staggered by value for money, the friendliness of the young staff and the pleasant atmosphere with folk of all ages there. Indeed, we liked it so much that we went there for breakfast the next morning, and then again for our dinner that evening! The food was really very, very good, as were the drinks and, as I have said already, the value for money was just amazing! OK, let's be truthful here and say what it is, so, so much cheaper compared to other pubs! Should we ever return to Chichester we will certainly rack up here!

Food is what you’d expect from a spoon but we had not one but TWO instances of staff being INCREDIBLY rude. We went to go get a slightly bigger table and we asked a waitress if we could potentially take a table she was stood next to and she told us not to bother because she hadn’t cleared it and it will take her ages, when we said we didn’t mind she snapped ‘can’t you see how much I have to do’. So we abandoned that mission and the second instance was a waitress standing on my friends foot without a second glance, my friend was wearing Docs, luckily she wasn’t injured but an apology would have been nice! We understand you’re busy but please do better with your customer service <3

I've visited a couple of times previously and this is one of Mum's favourite lunch venues. Everything about our lunch visit today was lovely - the interior, the staff and our food. We both had Roast of the day, and it was one of the best I have tasted for a long time - tender beef, crispy roast potatoes, lovely gravy and a good selection of veg. Our sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake were also lovely, and generous portions. I think this will be our first choice for lunch meet ups...

Checked the menu online prior to visiting and wasn’t that excited by what was on offer. The dishes they served were mouth-wateringly delicious. The chef clearly knows what he’s doing! All the elements of the roasted duck dish were homemade - the peppercorn sauce mind blowing. If you like pudding this is there secret weapon. Summer pudding who knew it could be elevated to tingle the tastebuds. This pub is a food gem and will be returning

What a wonderful experience!! Dropped through on the way back to Surrey from LittleHampton. My cousin had the venison and she said it was one of the best things she has ever eaten! And I had the prawn & avocado risotto and it was really tasty and flavoursome. One of the best risottos I’ve had and would 100% recommend the food to anyone 🙂

Warm welcome from the staff. We had a lovely roast lunch and dessert (Aussie pavlova with fresh beries, cream and passion fruit coulis and a Banoffee Pie) see pics.

We had a lovely roast here. The pub is a proper traditional quaint exposed beams affair and is really cosy. The service was good and the food came quickly. My only criticism is that the vegetarian options are not clearly marked on the menu. It's not always obvious if 'hidden' meat products such as suet, gelatin or meat stocks are in dishes so it would be really helpful to highlight the vegetarian dishes.

The food is amazing. Went with friends and group of 8 and we had roast dinner. Every meal was exceptional loads of crispy roast potatoes. Friendly happy staff. Great choice for Sunday menu.

Service and food were perfect, though kitchen seems to lag behind sometimes.

If you're on the lookout for a delightful dining experience, look no further than The Anchor. This charming establishment offers an inviting atmosphere where guests are treated like family. From the moment you step in, you'll be greeted by warm and attentive service that makes you feel right at home—shout out to Cat and Eleanor for their exceptional hospitality! The culinary offerings are nothing short of spectacular; each dish is beautifully presented and packed with flavor, showcasing the care that goes into every meal.
We were camping up the road from this pub so came for a carvery - probably the best carvery I’ve had in a long time. Group favourites: turkey, leek & mushroom bake, and cauliflower cheese! Great carvery options for vegetarians too😍 Our server was Kat, she’s full of energy, very informative, and super friendly. We wanted to tip but they can’t accept tips on card, so bring cash! Thank you Kat, you were great! 😊

Food and service is excellent. Had the carvery which was all hot (was worried having read previous reviews), gluten free was well accommodated and Kat did a great job of looking after us personally. My only gripe is I couldn't find menus online so wasn't sure of the price and found it a bit more expensive than I had budgeted for (£18.95 for a roast), but I should have asked and as I've said the food was really good and generous portions. Lovely setting as well and lots of free parking.

Carvery was pretty tasty, we had a late sitting which probably isn't the best as some of the food has clearly been on the warmer for a while. Great value though! I'll come back and try the burger menu as I'm sure the restaurant is going to be good with a nice looking menu. The setting in the main restaurant is great and will look lovely in the winter, especially towards Christmas.

Lovely little busy pub, good food (we went there on curry night) staff were friendly, and the tables were clean. Didn't take long to get served either. Reasonably priced, plenty of parking available. Overall 8/10

Stopped at a campsite nearby so popped in for food. The guy behind the bar was very friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing. Nacho sharer was plenty for two and the sausage and mash and chicken and mushroom pie was sooooo nice. Would defo recommend if you're in the area!!

We had an absolutely fantastic dinner at The Anchor! The service was incredible from start to finish, attentive, warm and genuinely welcoming. Cat and Eleanor were especially wonderful. They were so friendly and helpful, they really made us feel right at home. The food was amazing, beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. It’s clear that a lot of care and quality goes into both the kitchen and the overall guest experience. Highly recommend The Anchor, we’ll definitely be back!

Stopped in to check out their carvery offer of 2x adults for £25- and was so impressed! The staff was fantastic, super friendly and the food was amazing; large portions, great quality & phenomenal value. The Halloween and Christmas decor was quirky and made us giggle. I will be back many time for other dinners soon. Highly recommend!

I had a really enjoyable experience at The Anchor Pub in Sidlesham. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. I went for the Sunday carvery dinner and it did not disappoint. Generous portions, perfectly cooked meats, and a great selection of fresh vegetables and all the classic trimmings. It’s clear the team takes pride in both the food and the service. After giving compliments to the owner, I was even allowed to take my Madris beer glass home as a souvenir
