Great service, very friendly staff and delicious food. Recommended.

First, I ordered a non-alcoholic IPA, but it was out of stock, and the waiter offered me a non-alcoholic lager instead, which I accepted – though it wasn’t what I really wanted. Three of us ordered steaks, but the portion sizes varied significantly between plates. I ordered medium-well, but it was served very bloody – again, not what I wanted. When we tried to order dessert, we had trouble getting the staff’s attention, and it took 10–15 minutes before we could place our order. At least the crème brûlée was really good. In summary: the food was more or less okay, the dessert was excellent, but we expected better service overall especially considering the price we paid.

The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is more hanging out with your friends and family than going for a romantic dinner. The food is good but a bit pricey

Great location and we'll appointed restaurant. Limited menu but we'll balanced. The fish casserole was great, light and full of flavor. The steak plank was less than desired and came with a presentation of mashed potatoes that is double of a normal size portion. Pumpkin was in season and was neat to watch the chefs carve this massive one for one of the dishes.

This place is lovely, beautiful dining room with open fireplaces and comfortable leather arm chairs. The traditional "plankstek" is to be recommended, the fish was served with prawns and hollandaise and it was excellent. The service was uneven, the feeling was inexperienced but willing to learn and that is a plus.

If you go here you should definitely try their plankstek (grilled meat/fish on a wooden platter). We had the meat and fish. The meat was grilled nicely but was not that tender. The fish seemed fresh with shrimps and spinach, really good combination. The starters were ok, not worth the money. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff was helpful and friendly. Ok with small kids.

Very nice, elegant restaurant will an equally elegant menu. If you are looking for an upscale place, enjoy some wine with friends, this is it.

A lovely place in the center of Halmstad; cozy court seating on a warm summer evening. Service is very friendly and fun. We liked all dishes we chose, from garlic bread with aioli, toast skagen, blue cheese filled filet and Wallenbergare to the delicious desserts. Full recommendation. 😁

Had a lovely dinner here, the staff were professional and knowledgeable about the food and wine. I was very happy with my food, the fish dish was excellent and the dessert was nice. I can recommend this place for a quality dining experience.

Booked a hotel package that included a 3-course meal for dinner. The food was good but the service was horrible, our waiter was the worst. He destroyed the entire experience. We saw other tables around that were served without a problem which means the kitchen was doing well in terms if preparing orders. First, he spoke English and Swedish in one sentence. We would have been fine with any of the language. It was confusing. Second, he forgot what we ordered for starters and had to ask again. Third, we waited 20mins after the meal for him to take the plates away and another 20mins to serve the dessert.

It was one of the worst restaurant I have been to, that definitely has brought down the experience at the spa hotel. I don’t like this place trying to be fancy, but they can’t even do the basic thing. The table was having some trouble with one leg probably longer so it’s wobbly, instead of moving us to another table. They try to fix table while we have wine on the table. It literally spilled and it was not very nice. I ordered a white asparagus for starter, but I got the green one and the waiter was “oh white asparagus was not in the season”. You could have tell me this before I ordered😑 Additionally, I don’t like the food was served sort of cold you can tell that they served the food with cold plate that’s why the food was cold after being bringing on the table It took us 30 minutes after a starter to get the main course. After finishing the main course, it took another 30 minutes to get the dessert. Also, a lot of vegetable has a really dry part and it’s un chewable in most restaurant. They remove those parts and they did not remove it here and it was really dry like chewing plastic. It’s very basic things that restaurants should not serve things that cannot be eaten in my opinion

Let’s start with the food which was obviously the reason to visit Tylöhus. It was totally ok, nothing wow, but truly satisfying. This was a Christmas lunch so I didn’t expect any higher level. But what surprised me was the passive aggressive attitude from the supervisor when I wanted to pay with cash. Is it really such a big problem or crime in Sweden? It left a very bad taste in my mouth how the lady dealt with this, and how a guest can be treated. I left uncomfortable, and it’s a pity since the view was beautiful and food was as stated: satisfying… Maybe it’s time to reconsider your way of treating guests even if they’re not from large corporations? Or at least don’t give your guest the uncomfortable feeling, because that’s not why we visit and pay for your hospitality. In overall I find this behavior very outdated and shouldn’t take place at prominent hotels like Tylösand. Service personnel however were friendly and helpful. Especially those preparing the food at the table.

Nice location and beautiful view from the restaurant but a little bit annoying with a lot of drunk guest partying everywhere. Service from Hjalmar was great and I think some of the other reviewers were a bit unlucky with service although I think the whole hotel focus way too much on company events and not individual guests. We had a 3 course with wine menu and were overall satisfied.

Nice grill restaurant on the main street of the city, close to the shopping area. Very stylish, warm and friendly, with a taste of vintage in the furnitures. Open kitchen so you can see the chef cooking, on the other side you will surely smell of food after eating. Wide choice of draft beers, wines, and grill delicatessen, I'm surprised they don't have an english menu. Give it a try you'll like it.

Delicious Thaifood

We spent in a big group our lunch here. Since we were a really big group, i don't know all the meals. First of all the service was great and friendly - it's not easy to serve a big group, but they did great and all the food came at the same time. The ambiente is very pretty from the inside, it is elegant and a nice place to spend time with their loved ones. My friend had a tuna salad, which was very good accordingly to him. The tuna was fresh and had a sesame crust. I had a pizza with lots of vegetables. On the pizza were artichokes, a lot of them. I really like them and often there are just a few of them. All the toppings were generous but not too much. The dough was crispy on the outside, just perfect. I would recommend to try the pizza and salads here. I was very happy.

The best pizza I've had in Sweden. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. I thank the waiter again for the coffee, I am very pleasantly surprised how I was treated in the restaurant. 10/10

Paul was so nice and helpful. I had an overnight to plan my girl’s birthday and he managed everything I need. All the stuff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a great time at the restaurant. I had to say that the venue is so classy and gives a high-end ambient. Highly recommended!

Oh my word! Brought my family to eat pizza here( 2 kids 2 grownups). What a delight!! Let’s start with the crust. It was without a doubt top 3 that we have ever eaten,anywhere in the world. Three different pizzas(kids shared one) never seen my little daughter so delighted. Toppings went from seafood to ham. Delicious is the word. Can’t praise the food more then this. Service was also top rated with suggestions and showing the kids the place. If we have a chance,we will be back!

The food was generally tasty. The tartelette were delicious. I had the duck for main. The duck itself was quite lean and the various things on the plate really made it tasty. I don't know exactly what everything was but it definitely enhanced the duck. It was a bit too dark for my liking and we were a bit squeezed in a small space. I don't like small spaces. Although in this case it added to the privacy.

Delicious food, great and calm atmosphere. The music was especially tasty. I had the steak and it was delicious. For 2 steaks and 2 Pepsi max, we paid 662 sek which is really affordable. I recommend this place to have a nice lunch or dinner.

A popular place with candles and cozy atmosphere and good service. The food tastes good. The interior and the atmosphere make you feel good. The portions are small, please note it, very small! So if you are hungry as you usually are, then order one of the snacks on the menu and three portions of the main course. They have very small number of beers on the list and even fewer wine on the menu. If you want some bread, you have to pay for it, which I think is not in pair with the class of this restaurant. I would l like to visit this place one more time and try one of their other dishes.

Fast and friendly service. The indoors facilities are nice with a complementary outdoor area. The food is tasty with small invovations to the classic menu. Definitely worth a lunch.

Exceptional place with a extremely well thought out and creative menu. Not quite tapas style but small plate menu designed to sample one or two dishes. I was infatuated with the SnackRoyal dish as it was a tasting of 4 separate dishes. HIGHLY recommend trying.

Excellent food and a great view of the river. Good place for adults, not so much for children.

The location is prime and that’s where that ends. ! We expected a good lunch but the food was disappointingly tasteless. My Cesar salad was soggy with a sauce that was curdled and watery at the same time, topped with stale chicken on a bed of browning lettuce. My husband’s salmon came smothered in tasteless and once again curdled sauce.

Me and my friend arrived in Halmstad at 00:30am and realised the train station closes overnight so had to find somewhere to stay, and we saw this hotel across the street. I went in in hopes there was a room available, and to our luck Annieka came to our rescue. She got us a room and made us feel at home in country not our own. She was so welcoming and kind. Furthermore, we planned to leave early in the morning (around 5am) so we would miss the breakfast which was included in the price. Annieka then offered us a goody bag to take away in the morning which made me and my friend incredibly happy. We devoured our breakfast on our train and loved every bit! (Especially the homemade yogurt). Honestly, Annieka was a life saver and a great example of incredible customer service ! Definitely would recommend !

The hotel is conveniently located close to the city center, about 10 walking minutes away. It's also just across from the main train station. Rooms were modern, clean and tidy, the area mostly quiet. There are cosy communal areas available to hang out, staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was good with warm and cold options. A car park is also just diagonally across. Overall very good value for the about 96€ I paid during the week. You'll also find a good bar on ground floor and an apparently excellent restaurant.

I’ve regularly stayed here and a very nice stay every time over a few years. If you reached the level where you can be upgraded within the loyalty program, the upgraded rooms are the best! The breakfast is really good with lots of options. The only downside would be that the TVs sometimes doesn’t work with the casting from your own devices, but very minor issue. Some noise if you stay at the first floor facing the train station from cars and trains, but manageable. The partnership gym is also very good and far better than regular hotel gyms.

Honestly, one of the best hotels in Halmstad (and, probably in Sweden) within this price range. The location is a top-notch, so do the customer service and food quality. The room I stayed was a pretty big one, and I wondered how could they offer it that cheap when an adjacent hotel was almost charging the same but offering rusty, old service. Nevertheless, my colleagues and I had a very nice stay at this place. And, certainly, I would recommend this hotel (and stay whenever I visit the Halmstad).

Good location, relatively central. Train station on other side of the road (might disturb some people who sleeps easy). The hotel was beautiful and rooms were clean and with enough space. When it comes to food, I only had breakfast. It was as you would expect most good hotels in Sweden. Nothing to complain about. Rooms has ventilation, but no air conditioning (I stayed during a rather hot day and the room was to warm during the night). TV in the room was rather small and not so good quality. Service in hotel was overall very good.

We had an excellent stay. The accommodation was very good with details such as breakfast and service being adequate. The hotel is very business oriented, so not the friendliest for children in a sense that there was literally nothing for children to do inside the hotel.

Rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast could have bigger variety of salty snacks. The most amazing thing is the gym equipment when you enter the room. First time I see something like this. They have also a QR code for exercises. Well done.

Good Hotel in good location. Personnel was super friendly! Rooms were spacious & had some complementary water. Wifi connection could've been better. Gym equipment felt quite randomly selected and would need an overhaul. The hotel breakfast was plentiful, including some vegan options like yogurt, milk, hummus, cheese etc.

A modern hotel with spacious rooms. Great location, next to the train station. The highlight of the hotel is definitely the breakfast, plenty of choices, and even gluten-free options. The staff is friendly and serviceminded. They have a small gym, a roof bar, and even Santai Wellness, a relaxing area. It is equipped with a sauna and steam sauna. Nice music is played in the background. And the view from this hotel is just stunning.

Awesome place just to sit outside on Gamla Halmstad tables by the main street! Definitely recommend the Prawns Curry dish and Grilled Salmon:) Never ever miss to enjoy the Orange Cheese Cake with fresh fruits its just amaaaaaazing! Service staff are really good and friendly too with kind service heart! You will definitely love your dinner with special ones and just relax there anytime!

Overall Nice experience, went there for a Saturday lunch, prices are reasonable. Ordered Ugnbaked Kyckling and Laxfile, Kyckling was good, found the Laxfile sauce a bit on the bland side, otherwise quite neat and simple taste.

Very tasty food although I was expecting more swedish options. The starter could be a bit larger, only 3 prawns with 3 slices of pre-fab bread to soak up the oily but tasty sauce. The salmon was well done but could use more salt and more veggies and less potato. Veggies were cooked to perfection, not too much not too little. Dessert had lots of garnish but not that much cake, but it was delicious

We had the deer main (Hjortfile på Hallänskt vis) and the salmon (lax) and both were cooked very well. Tender, moist deer meat and salmon fillet. The service was excellent too and they allowed us to have our puppy in the restaurant.

Place was okay but the quality was not as high as I anticipated. The pork was sliced extremely thin which over cooked it. The french fries were the star of the plate, truly good. My colleague thought the same. The pasta dish looked and tasted like a canned meal.

The garlic bread was regular bread store bought, than in the owen with little garlic scented oilj. The main dish I choose was a deer dish, which with the amount of meat they put was way over priced. The dish was a let down. I won't eat hear again.

Ordered plaice(fish) butter fried. Fresh was the impression from the menu. Omg deep fried semi-finished fish. My knife could barely make it through the breading. Contained approx 30%fish. Mc Donald’s is 5 star compared. Wouldn’t eat there again even if it was the last restaurant on earth.

I asked for the prawn sandwich which I was told is a Swedish typical. I thought it was a relatively light meal.... nope, nope, nope. What a beast! I eat a lot and I could not finish it. From half way through I was already soldiering my way through the meal. It was also delicious! The were a couple of slices of cucumber and 1 or 2 cherries tomatoes on the plate just to make me feel less guilty. Good selection of beer, huge selection of everything else

If you want to try Thai food, Lotus is a good choice. If you buy a buffet, you get a starter of your choice. you choose the food from the bug which a chef then prepares for you while you wait. after the buffet there is free coffee, ice cream, mousse. I would love to come again.

Food is good, especially Sushi is very tasty and many varities of Sushi was available. There are other varities of Chicken and noodles and diiferent sauces which are also good.

The sushi burrito is the bomb! Very high quality sushi. The place is quite quiet tho- we felt we were so loud!

Resturant didnt look much, but great service and food! Fast to table and food was delicious! I ate bento box and curry bowl. Great taste and flavours, felt like i was tasting homemade traditional japanese food. :D would be back again for sure!

Had dinner at Takenaka and ordered the Takenaka Best 11pcs and the nigiri was very delicious! The maki rolls were very bland, not fun at all. Got two pcs with only rice filled with rice and some egg? Very boring. Ate with four other people, we all thought the same, there's better sushi in Halmstad for cheaper! Another thing was that you'd expect to get some seagrass and even edamame on your plate for that price range? But no, only "wasabi" and ginger. The maki rolls were also very big, with a thick layer of rice around ... The hostess was friendly at arrival but the rest of the service was not super, could have served us chopsticks and bowl for soy sauce like every other place has prepared on the table when you sit down to eat. We had to ask for it and the restaurant was not even busy. The place is very cosy with a small outside area on the courtyard! And nice that they serve the Japanese beer Asahi, which I love! I would recommend to come at lunch time because the pricing may be better? Or to only order the nigiri! The second pic is also the takenaka best but 14psc.

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. They had some problem explaining their stories, but you understand them well. The champagne is amazing, we tried 6 different kinds and they varied a lot in taste. The picture I uploaded is of my favorite. They present the different champangnes really well and you can taste them in any prefer you want. I really recommend this place if you're out to get some knowledge about champagne (when you're not really into champagne) or just is out to have a different kind of experience.

In the city center next to Nissan(river) you will find this gem. Great food and cosy. Champagne is the word. A very rich assortment to order from. Whatever you wish to have, probably is right at your fingertips to order.

One of the best löjromstoasts I’ve ever had ! Probably the best selection of champagne I’ve seen in Sweden and almost everything is on glass ! So happy with these 3 days I’ve spent in Halmstad thanks to Magnus who is fantastic and so well educated within champagne. The staff was amazing , super friendly and knowledgeable!

Good food but very expensive. 49kr for a very tiny tapas, and you need at least 4-5 to be a normal meal in a restaurant. So about 200-250 kr for a meal, which would get you a meal in a more upscale restaurant.

Must eat here! 5 out of 5 at least!!! #1 just delicious. Every plate better than the last. #2 Employees were SUPER friendly and nice. Came in at 1900 little Lordåg rush time and the place was packed! And ALL the employees treated our party really nicely! The cooks were really friendly also despite getting SLAMMED by rush hour. #3 Non Alcoholic passion fruit mojito recommend. #4 Shrimp waffle and Salmon Tartare and beef taco recommend. #5 So the trick for new pincho people is too order your drink and 3 plates right away. Make sure they are different from your friends! Then share with your friends!! Then order 3 more plates right when your first three plates arrive. That way, when you finish your first three plates... Your next three are ready!

Delicious food. Tasty drinks. Cosy atmosphere. Good service. What more can anyone ask for? 🎪👏🏻

TLDR: Good food, but room for improvement with the rest of the experience. The food is good and the concept very nice with this Tapas-style food, however it is way to expensive if you want to try it all(or most) and you often leave kind of still hungry and the desire to stop by McD to fill up with a cheeseburger. This should not be the case for a 300 - 500 kr dinner. Service is non-existing by design, you order in an app, you pick up the food yourself and you pay in the app. On this Sunday evening it was quite slow and about 1/4 of the tables was occupied. Still, almost everybody was placed in the center of the restaurant. We had 4 other tables occupied within 2 meters of our tabel while the rest of the tables was almost empty. This could have been alot better.

Are not following the Swedish and European laws regarding handicap accessibility. They asked us if we needed some help since one in your party uses a wheelchair and we said yes but after that we never saw any staff at all.

Pinchos is a restaurant where you can meet with friends or family, the decoration is nice and the waiters are very friendly. The negative side : It's very expensive, a tiny pan of Risotto is 49.00 kr, pasta with cream and a little meat 59.00 kr ... You should not go there if you are hungry, but prefer a nice restaurant with a real dish.

Very interesting concept, but realisation is a bit below this level. The reservations are systematic and usually have some bugs. Self service is not what I prefer, and no way to order an exclusion from the dish in case you are allergic. Illogical thing also fast food concept with waiting for order for longer than an hour.

a lovely restaurant for lunch in town, date night or just a quick bite when walking around town. the food is in my opinion great be it the Pizza, Pasta or Plates with quick service and a comfortable atmosphere, Lunch menu is sub 100SEK per person while dinner rarely goes over 200SEK per person.

Great place for pizzas! The interior is cozy. During our late afternoon lunch there were few customers and the service was fine. In the photos are Mama Mia and Calzone. They were really tasty, with a thin and not too crispy bottom. Menu examples also in the photos.

Food was good but the service was bad. They charged us for the tap water and they told us there was not lunch menu when people later they were having lunch menu. Probably because they saw we were not locals…

Closes at 10pm so as we arrived at 9:15pm we were slightly unwanted. Pizza’s we’re okay not Rome style bases. More store bought. . House wine is really poor. €25 for a €5 euro bottle. Got hassled to pay and leave. Fair enough as we were told 10pm. But all in. There must be better nearby.

The food was good but the service here was fantastic in O’Learys Halmstad. Moa who served our table was very friendly and service minded! Accordingly to the service we stayed much longer than we expected and had planned. The drinks was nice and the waitress did absolutely a good job and really made us feel so welcomed to this place!

In the speakers they were broacasting F1 Grand Prix, in the TV they were showing football!!! Requested to lower curtains to waitress because sun was blinding me but she wouldn't doi it until requested for the third time. They can take up to 20 minutes to bring you a beer. Please improve service!!! Dishes are delicious.

Super nice waiters, epic super delicious burgers made out of pure luck. I've got the double cheeseburger with extra bacon which was perfectly crispy! Also I cleared all the leftovers of my family wich had the tasty sandwiches with chicken. Our waiter Felix was super Friendly and spoke English very well! I would always visit you guys again on my vacation! Keep up the good work!

Typical Swedish food of good quality

I was so disappointed when my mussels where inedible due to crushed shells because Jarlen promises high quality food and beverages. But when I was expected to pay for a dish I could not eat I was unpleasantly surprised and needless to say I won't be going back, at least not for a long time. Such a shame.

Tasty food but portions are way to small to justify the price

This was exactly what we wanted when visiting Halmstad. The food was exceptional - grilled mushrooms and Swedish caviar for starters, paired with a lovely wine, entres were some of the best food we have enjoyed in a very long time! The deer loin was incredible! Service was excellent, very friendly and helpful. Company was delightful, new friends made, and an unexpected perfect evening!

I really liked their skagenröra and the others in my company said that their mussels and shrimps tasted great too. To me the reindeer was very tasty too.

A pleasant place to eat French meals in Sweden. The food is good, the staff are nice and the prices are average.

The service was ok, they charged for the tap water, what usually doesn't happen in Sweden. The food was not so good. One of the dishes was salmon in the oven with vegetables and chabli sauce, but I got salmon and vegetables in creme fraiche and wrapped in foil. They served like that and it tasted very bad. The other order was pizza file and it tasted onion more than meat. Two stars go to atmosphere, which was nice and service, which was ok. It would be much nicer if they have a nice food, serve food in a right way and don't charge for water.

The quality of the pizza does not reflect the price. Soggy dough in the middle and the edges were almost like flat bread. Low quality ingredients on top. The price is almost the twice as any "normal" pizza place. The waitress was nice though.

There was a good pizza! 👍 Gin tonic is with cucumber and this is the best... !! If I may have one little things I would change is about the snails cooking and the spicy oil, but all the rest was really top 👍🌟

Had dinner here. The tapas sharing menu is huge so beware of that. The food was just ok but the drinks were inventive and fun. Seemed like a popular place for young people to have drinks.

Fantastic food. Ordered the “tapas bag” to do final preparations at home. Very good instructions and the food turned out amazing. Very nice packaging and the courses mixed well together, you won’t feel hungry for days after this (plenty to go around). Very nice staff and service when ordering was terrific. Not very accessible if you are bound to a wheelchair though which knocks off a few points.

Pizza was good, large, and tasty. Gluten-free pizza was also really nice. Everything was good, tha staff is friendly and helpful. The prices are a bit too high while the atmosphere is just ok. I believe that this place needs to enhance a bit of its furnishing.

Excellent pizza great vibe really good food. Couple things though Bouillabaisse is not right way to thick creamy sauce definitely not what Bouillabaisse is. Shrimp scampi either not traditional shrimp scampi as in sautéed shrimp in white wine butter and capers. Was more like Thai dish a bit to spicy with peppers 🌶 and I believe basil??? Not sure. Over all fantastic really great pizza one of the best pizza we had in Europe hands down. The steak aka plank steak was really good the bacon wrapped asparagus was tender though the bacon took over the flavor a bit to much. Not to bash on the appetizers after all eating food is an adventure and sometime you get surprised. This was a pleasant surprise and a lovely 70th birthday celebration. 5 stars A+++++ we do recommend. Cheers 🥂.

Food was alright, service was good and our waiter was pretty funny. We were in a large group so didn't expect much but had heard good reports and visited this place a couple of times as it's very close to the train station and hotels in Halmstad.

I ordered salmon, the salmon it self was okay but the vegetable around it was hard and a lot of it was the worst part, like the stem. Only reason it's not a one star is the nice staff and decent service.

Just amazing true Italian Pizzaaaa n Pasta with great taste and fantastic service by two girls who managed our large group of girls ao very well! After a year we have been back to this Italian restaurant because last year on our vacations in Halmstad we have been eaten the best pizza in there so we have back for more and I can say that they still serve the best pizza and great coffee ☕ Only thing I was disappointed is service very forgetful, distracted and messy. We had to ask for everything, cutlery, napkins, sugar for coffee 😯😵

We ordered a pizza and bresaola. Both were great. I loved the pizza. Very tasty and thin. Just enough tomato in it. The atmosphere is friendly and relax. We sat outside. Its great value for what you pay.

A spectacular restaurant by the sea in Tysoland Hotel. The location is amazing - the restaurant has different levels and also has a view of the stage. The food was excellent; the shrimp salad was fresh and delicious and the small burger was huge. The service was good. After lunch we walked along the sea and came back to watch a concert. We also saw the car collection and lots of photographs of the band, Roxettes. We were also lucky to be there to see the “Bruce, Barack & Friends” collection of photographs. Highly recommended!

Good pizza, but the downsides are enormous! Drinks took well over 20 minutes to get, in the mean time you just sit there and look around. 1 hour and our pizzas arrived. No apology or excuses. 1 pizza missing ingredients that's on the menu, the honey roasted nuts was just plain nuts with raw honey sprinkled over the pizza. It's my third time here but I won't be back. The experience is always the same. Wonderful tasting pizza but the rest is really bad.

We didn't have high expectations after reading the reviews the last year, but we where happily surprised. The food was still not the best and one in the party got cold food, but the service was great (shout out to Elvira and Alice). We have tried to order a Irish Coffe for 3 years and this year we actually got one. Not a big think but still positive. 50 50 if we will come back a 9th year but not impossible. Update: Ordered 5 drinks and all the glasses was warm, so even with the ice it was just bad because the ice melted in like 5 min and then we just had a watered down drink. Went from 4 stars to 2 because when we pointed it out they just said, that's how it is. Update 2: most of the guards are OK, but there is a few that needs a new job and kind of are destroying for the rest.

The food was not worth the price. Just too expensive for everything in the menu. And I mean, I have been to different kind of restaurants, from Michelin stars to street food in Vietnam 😅 the quality of food in Bettans bar is not worthing the pride you pay for. The service rated depends on “who” has a chance to serve you. Some stuffs were too busy to make eye contact so sometimes you have to wait quite awhile before you get some help. The view was pretty good. 👍

First off, if you come here, be prepared to pay a lot. Which is a bit understandable: it's a unique location with a beautiful view, highly touristic, so it makes sense they charge more for all of that. We personally had no problems whatsoever with the service despite coming twice. The seafood platter was fantastic and ver good quality! I'd have another one if I could. The wines were alright, nice cocktails and good food, despite a very busy and often overwhelmed staff (most seemed to just be doing their best) but nothing bad in our case. I also tried the sushi, which were a very interesting "style", far from the usual/classic sushi, but still very good and fresh! I do understand other users' comments though, but I was lucky enough to not go through any issues myself, but I do wish the owners would take these comment and critiques into account and level up their staff and service level, because it could be much better. Waitresses were mostly nice, some even funny, but none really had any professional training and I can understand that, for those prices and that view, people are expecting something much more professional. Owners, listen, and you might make more money while making clients happier! It's win-win! :)

Don’t eat here. The “great” experience started with the hostess. Rude, proudly unpleasant and uneducated about the menu. We asked how were the oysters and the answer was “not my thing”. Aside from being a seafood restaurant, she recommended the chicken. Sat us at a table with no silverware or dish ware. When the food was brought, we had to request plates. No way to crack the 365kr lobster as they did not have any silverware for it so by hand it was. All the other plates we ordered such as the scallops, hamachi sushi, hummer tacos were small and tasteless. The chicken dumplings they suggested as the best, came frozen cold straight out of a bag. The best part of the meal was the bread.

Had Sushi for dinner though I noted no Japanese Chef. Food was prepared from premise parts of ingredients and put together by sous chef. Not freshly made which I expected in a quality restaurant.

My room is on the second floor in Gula villan. It is small but very nice and equipped with everything you need. Spotless clean, quiet and has great bathroom products that smell amazing. Impressive pressure in the shower head. Alla in all it's a quality hotel located in the middle of the city

Stayed in a junior suite. The room had seen better days and it seems like the radiator had been leaking a bit because the carpet was damp next to it. Breakfast was nice and the breakfast area cozy. The location is excellent.

Loved this hotel! The service was friendly, attentive and professional. The hotel is very modern and stylish and our room was great, big with a nice confortable bed and view to the main square. I was impressed by the quality of the breakfast. It was fresh with lots of variety and vegan options (oats yogurt and milk, vegan butter) and a delicious homemade granola. The best hotel breakfast that I have had for a while. The rooftop bar was also a lovely surprise! I will definitely return to the Mårtenson. What I liked: room, breakfast, service. To improve: rooftop food menu.

Excellent service with lovely breakfast each morning. Only thing is I would like to have been able to open the windows which I could not but there was air con in the room but it is also nice to be able to open a window. The shower was great also but water would go out to the floor of the bathroom so had to use one of the towels on the floor to stop it going everywhere. Windows and water from shower going out onto the floor are only very minor. I had a very nice and pleasant stay. 😊

The hotel is located beside a canal and gives a wonderful view. Typical Swedish architecture is seen around the vicinity. There are many restaurants which offer indoor and outdoor seatings. Hotel Mårtenson also has a coworking space on the 1st floor and a business center on the 2nd floor. The rooms are quite small in size but have a cozy ambience. They also offer a decent variety of breakfast. Staff is very friendly and cooperative.

Food was good. Prices were a bit high, but I guess it's a seasonal place. Staff was good. Drink was served room temperature with ice on top (not shaken/chilled). Most likely could have asked them to fix it, but didn't have the energy to bother with it.

Umai City sits on a corner. If you are approaching it from the direction of the train station, you'll see the main restaurant first, and just tucked around the corner is the take away section. If you have just arrived in Halmstad by train then you can be at Umai City within about 10 minutes, if that. To get to the city's centre is a longer walk and one which, as will become apparent, is not worth it if Umai City is open. The restaurant occupies a modest part of a largely residential street smattered with small shops and a bakery. For that reason it strikes you as a real neighbourhood spot, an impression which was reinforced in the best possible way during my visit. The interior is clean, inviting, but without pretence. The staff working both in the kitchen and serving food appear to be genuinely having a good time. The service generally is outstanding and Sarah deserves particular credit. On my visit needless to say Sarah and her colleagues went above and beyond any reasonable expectations to make my visit memorable. This is my fourth trip to Sweden and I cannot say I have had better service than here. The food is exceptional. By that I do not just mean it is good but equally that it stands out as being of the utmost quality compared to competing options. By this point of my stay I have eaten at several establishments here and there is no reasonable comparison. Not only that but for 14 pieces of individual fresh sushi, two panko shrimp, and a soft drink, it was excellent value for money. On these bases I recommend and implore, if not insist, that you try to dine at Umai City as soon as you can. I have found Halmstad to be a charming and interesting little city; whilst I would not return for its castle or to walk the Nisan, I would return for even a brief, passing visit to this restaurant.

This McDonald’s was a huge disappointment. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty and there were only two of us, we had to wait almost 10 minutes for our food. That would have been tolerable, but the real problem came when our order was delivered – the employee spilled Coca-Cola directly onto our fries and burgers, didn’t apologize, laughed, placed the tray down, and walked away without a word. The food quality was terrible. The Filet-O-Fish we ordered looked and tasted like it had been sitting for several hours. I have never had such a dry and disgusting fish at McDonald’s before. Cleanliness? A complete disaster. Every table was dirty, there were food scraps and uncollected trays all over the floor. The trash station was in a deplorable state – filthy, damaged, and with overflowing bins. Our decision to visit the restroom was another mistake. Out of three toilets, one was out of order, the second had a broken door handle, and the third smelled so horrible it was nauseating. With a clear conscience, I can say this is the worst McDonald’s I have ever visited, including locations in Norway, Sweden, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. Absolutely not recommended!

It's rare to come across a restaurant that manages to get so many things wrong, so consistently. This place has turned what should be a simple, standardized fast food experience into something you have to approach more like a troubleshooting exercise. Orders are wrong so frequently that it no longer feels like bad luck - it feels like routine. You have to double-check every single detail, every time. It doesn't matter if you order in person, through the app, or via the drive-thru - something is almost always wrong: a missing burger, the wrong drink, incorrect fries, no dip. Or my personal favorite - Chili Cheese bites instead of nuggets in a Happy Meal. It's a miracle the bags contain anything at all sometimes. And the Happy Meal? You can't even count on the toy anymore. Even though you actively select it as an add-on - and are charged for it - it's often missing when the food is handed over. When you ask about it, you're told that "a lot of people buy toys" - as if that were an unexpected occurrence. The idea that maybe it's time to order more doesn't seem to register.

Toilets are filthy, toilet paper is not coming off, they won't clean it, a toilet is just barricaded and on the floor there is vomit or some dried milkshake. If I could give 0 stars I would

Restaurant was dirty and very messy. Ketchup station was as dirty, empty and had waste all over. Many menu items were not available. Staff looked overworked and understaffed. Recycle station was overflowing with waste. Flies were hovering around the recycle station. Very chaotic. Very unsanitary toilets with paper waste in very cubicle. Bad smell in the toilets.

This experience was much below my McDonalds expectations. 1. Only one of six ordering machines was working. 2. Restrooms were a disaster - one of 2 default ones was 'operational'. On top the lock did not work / did not close.

Ordered the Collectible Minecraft movie meny, only because we wanted the Collectible. But we did not receive the toy. When we questioned them about it. They did not offer a full refund on the meny. So now i sit here without the toy. With a meal i did not want.

Mcdonald's at the Hallarna Mall is small in size. Only one self service check point was working out of the 6 points. The food was tasty just as you expect from any other McDonald's. There's a outdoor seating area too which also has small play area for the kids.

Pizza la mer looks good BUT, the gambas was STINKY! It was found not super fresh at the beginning, but last few pieces were unbearable! Talked to the waiter, but no explanation, no apologize, nothing. So you can imagine how this restaurant treat customers. Will never come here again.

While ordering, the owner asked me what type of drink I wanted. Seeing that the beers were already overpriced, at around 110 kr, I just asked for water... He told me it was 15 kr for plain water. I wanted to eat there but the chairs and tables outside were still fixed in place with anti-theft cables, and the inside was covered with dust - it clearly looked like nobody had cleaned there for a while. Even though I was the only person there my pizza was ready surprisingly quick, in around 5 minutes I was already on my way... Since I told him I'd rather take-away. The pizza was raw everywhere, it was under seasoned, didn't even have the olives which are the main ingredient, and the worst of all is that it was covered in flour, making it inedible. Walking back he argued against me saying that the pizza, since it's sourdough, is supposed to look like that, but the doe was literally melting apart. I asked him why he only gave me 5 olives and he said because "many people don't like olives", which I didn't quite understand since I ordered a pizza WITH olives. He refused to give me a refund. 5 minutes from that health hazard there's another pizzeria which delivered. It's called La pizza (the green pizza) Sir if you're ready this; give me my money back. The whole experience was embarrassing.

It looks like an abandoned place. Dirty, poorly decorated and dark. The man is friendly, but the food is frozen and reheated, bad and extremely expensive. I don't recommend it even for a glass of water.

Fantastic food here we had for a weekday lunch the pork in red wine sauce this time and it is superb, cooked just the way we like it. The food is well presented and kept to just the right temperature buffet style and refreshed regularly as is the salad. Fantastic place to go even with children, as Magasinet has safe free parking at the rear. The building dates back to the 18th century when the restaurant part was used to store potatoes, so the present owner tells me. Mostly original inside with additions to make it more user friendly. Very pleasant friendly staff, always clean and presentable. I heartily recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic Sunday brunch with an amazing dessert buffet. Lunches are also buffet style and very high quality, lots of choices. Very pretty surroundings especially in summer.

Had high expectations but the overall service and atmosphere failed to deliver. Is this the best dining Halmstad can deliver? Based on how the meny is priced I expected a higher standard than what was delivered. Our waiter did not in any way help us decide on food or matching wine. Drinks were basics and we felt overall lost as customers. The oysters were the highlight of the night as all other dishes were basic and not up to standard. I would not recommend Fyr, purely based on price versus quality of food and service. It is a shame as the location is picture perfect.

Superb experience! Delicious food, excellent location and ambience, warm- welcoming staff. One star less is only for the portion size of the main course. Would strongly recommend, if you'd like to make an evening special!

Very bad management, we waited for 40 min to order 3 coffees. There was a non stop long queue, and they had only 1 poor girl to serve them on a Saturday lunch, she did her best and was very much appreciated, but next time they have rethink on how many staff they should schedule on weekends.

A cafe in the middle of Halmstad where I often use my Espresso House app to pay for the somewhat expensive but delicious drinks and foods, watching the stream of people passing by the huge windows. Sipping tea in one of the new sofas, reading a magazine, working on their lap tops or having a quick salad with a friend on the chairs by the windows people always seem content and calm. The friendly staff and several rooms still give a cozy feeling. That's why I come back.

The managment is the worst! On the shift they have let the poor girl by her self to serve a huge line of people! unprofessional! You have to put minimum 2 person in front one as a cashier and one for making the orders. I feel really bad for this girl!

The pizza was very American, which might not be everyone’s taste. The meat looked like dog food, which really took away my appetite.

The pizzas were great, but the service was inadiquite. We ordered through the app, and the staff delivered one item at a time, with big time intervals, stating with the food and ending with the drinks. Meaning that some people almost managed finishing their meal, before others got tp start, and noone got to enjoy their drinks whilst eating. Also failed to mention that soda and juice was self serve

2 small pizzas plus drinks 250 kr. now I understand why as long as there is no buffet no one will enter there. I can understand if they make pizza like they do in my town in Italy. but it seems more like a ridiculous fried pizza.

Pizza tasted great. Just like a Pizza hut pizza is supposed to taste :) The place has fake fanta, cola and sprite, even though the button on their soda machine has the original brands. Thats a big minus, and is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

I went here with my family for a quick lunch. The food came in maybe after 10-15 minutes, which is great. One of the things we ordered weren’t, however, right so we had to send one back. Therefore, we had to wait a little more to get that order right. And even though it isn’t ideal, it really didn’t bother us too much. The food was quite good. I really like the pizza dough that they have at Pizza Hut, so I enjoyed the pizza quite a bit. Though, the bacon that was on my pizza was pretty burnt which was a shame. Some of the chicken was also pretty dry. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the food! The staff was friendly! The tables also seemed cleaned, but I noticed that there was a ton of garbage underneath some of the tables outside. There was a few tables outside that was pretty clean, both on the surface but also underneath it, so we sat outside. It was really nice to sit outside, enjoy the weather and let the children go and play in the park beside the restaurant.

Pastariket is located at two places in town. One is by the cinema and the other by the university. They offer a couple of different kind of pastas served in 3 sizes. The staff is nice and you get served quickly. The food is of high quality and you get much of it. Its not over priced.

I ate mexi burger, the spiciness is acceptable, I love spicy food. The service attitude is very good, but it is a pity that we can not eat inside in the rainy day, there is no roon. We choose to take away.

Very very good mashed potato, almost as you have made it at home. It is a must if you love mashed potatoes. You have to look for the place as it is not very central, but try it out.

Food was good, but the new years menu was very dissappointing. We had booked 3 planks for takeaway at 20:00 two days before New Years Eve and when we arrived 5 minutes before the chosen pick-up time we were met with a very long line. We had to wait 2 hours before actually getting our food. It would have been very bad if we had plans for later. Not reallt worth the money.

We loved the food there. Everything is self-made and fresh. Big meals for a good price. Very friendly guy. Very delicious. We can recommend to eat here.

This place is perfect for enjoying a drink and something to eat! This is the second time that we’ve visited, it has the dreamiest garden with apple trees and the best rhubarb drink + waffles we’ve ever had!! The ladies who work there are absolutely lovely which makes this place even better. We would drive straight from the Netherlands (where we’re from) back to Sweden just for this place. Great place for asian takeout, the portions are huuuge and there is always plenty of leftovers. Wide selection of dishes and the staff is always superfriendly and serviceminded. Orders usually take 15 minutes. Small seatingarea if you rather grab a quick bite there.

Really nice food and great service! It’s more a take away restaurant with a few tables at the location but they know how to cook good food.
