Red's Ice House is a casual waterfront spot located on historic Shem Creek in Charleston, South Carolina. The restaurant offers ample patio space with views of the water, making it an ideal place to enjoy the scenery and watch activities such as kayaking and dolphin sightings. The menu features standard fried seafood fare, sandwiches, burgers, and refreshing drinks. One of its highlights is the elevated 'tree house' rooftop bar that provides a charming setting to savor local seafood while taking in scenic Charleston sunsets.
The place doesn't look like much but the roasted oysters were so good I had to order 6 more. My wife had grilled shrimp which were also good. We got there 5 minutes after opening at 11 am and they were half full already. In our 4 days in the Charleston area this place has the best roasted oysters.

Pros and cons for this restaurant. I am solo with a pet. I got there 10 minutes before they opened and let them know I was there. I then waited almost 20 minutes with no acknowledgement and eventually went to the bar asking to be seated. Once I was seated, the waitress was kind and attentive. She brought my pet a cup of ice cold water, but the water bowl outside where we waited was very dirty. The food was very good. My burger was a little pink and I realized I was never asked how I wanted it cooked. When the bill came for 2 daiquiris, a burger, fries and cucumber salad, it was $50!!!! I had seen the menu online where a daiquiri was $8 and is now apparently $13. The burger went up only a couple of dollars. The waitress stated that was an old menu but big increase either way. I didn't argue, I paid and tipped well because it's not the waitress' fault. The patio is covered with fans which is great for a pet because most outdoor seating is not covered and can get very hot. So...pros and cons but not sure I'll return.

We stumbled on this place when we were visiting Shem Boardwalk… Loved the food… Had the grouper sandwich. Grilled shrimp. French fries were delicious. The pineapple jalapeño coleslaw was great. The atmosphere was fabulous busy and the service was magnificent.

Waterfront dining, excellent service and great food! Reds is a true vacation feel! The house margarita was excellent and the crab cakes were wonderful! The low country boil could have used some seasoning but the portion sizes was perfect! Our server was friendly and energetic and prices were very reasonable too! The parking lot (paid) can get full due to the variety of restaurants around, however, we did a few circles and found a spot within a few minutes. Waterfront seating is first come first serve but the views were beautiful, especially during sunset. We loved Reds!

We had a really nice lunch here today. There was a little bit of a wait since they were very busy, but it was less than 15 mins. Once we were seated, our waitress was very attentive and our food came out quickly. I had the grouper sandwich and it was delicious. My fiance had their crab cake platter and enjoyed it. We'd definitely come back if/when we're in the area. It is a little expensive, but it's quality seafood too.

Nice outdoor bar. Highly recommend the BBQ bacon wrapped scallops and the Buffalo shrimp po boy. Both fresh and delicious!

Red's is an awesome place to eat. I ordered the low country boil & the jalapeño hushpuppies. It was delicious. We waited about 40-45 min for a table. Our waitress was friendly. We will definitely go back when we are in the area again. The view is of Shem Creek & watching the boats go by. There are other restaurants there (Saltwater¹ Cowboys, Muddy's & some others). You can go for a walk on the Boardwalk. Walk down thru there, and you can see where Heyward's Seafood is (Outer Banks) & The Wreck (Kiara's parents restaurant on the show).
Angel J — Google review
Meh. I was so excited for the crab cakes, and while they were all crab, they tasted like everything else on the plate as everything was covered with Old Bay type seasoning. The butter didn’t even taste like butter. Calamari appetizer was a good size portion, but nothing special. It all tasted premade and processed. Attention to detail was lacking - see photo. Waitress was nice but the kid who brought our food just tossed it on the table with a grunt and don’t bother me look.

New American restaurant
Bar
Family restaurant
Tavern & Table is a casual yet stylish restaurant located on the waterfront of Mount Pleasant's Shem Creek. It offers a locally sourced New American menu with a variety of options, including shareable snacks, cheese and meat boards, small plates, brick oven flatbreads, fresh-ground burgers, sandwich melts, and seafood and meat mains. The restaurant prides itself on its diverse selection of elevated cuisine prepared by Chef Katie Lorenzen-Smith.
Made a reservation and got sat immediately. If you order anything, you have to order the fire roasted oysters and burnt end mac and cheese. When I tell you those oysters were some of the best I have ever had… I thoroughly enjoyed the parmesan and bacon on them. The mac and cheese was decadent and rich and they were not stingy with the brisket on top. Great service as well. Highly recommend!

Fantastic spot right on the water during sunset, (we even saw Dolphins!). We loved the Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Dynamite Shrimp, Crab & Artichoke Dip, and Fire Roasted Oysters appetizers. Out of the group of six of us, we all decided the Sweet Corn + Leek Ravioli entree was the best out of everything else we got. The swordfish was close second, but other than that, nothing compared. The only disappointing part of the experience was the rude service. Our server did not write anything down and we didn't notice/care about that until she brought out the wrong items multiple times. For example, someone in my party pointed at the appetizers section on the menu and ordered the fire-roasted oysters. Plain oysters came out instead from a server assistant, then once we told our waitress (30 seconds later and untouched), she proceeded to tell us we were wrong and that we did not say the fire-roasted oysters originally, and gave us an attitude. We are a very easygoing group, but we did not appreciate the change in her service once he addressed a few incorrect drinks and food swaps. However, the atmosphere and food still made this a great dinner spot!

The burger is the best item on the menu!!! Don't waste your time. Plenty of restaurants in the area to choose from. Don't let the location fool you. The service was awesome. The flatbed was soggy. The steak had a weird flavor and the temp we asked for was medium, came to the table rare. Tough!!! Let's just say, skip it.
Belinda F — Google review
TLDR: The only thing worth the price (during lunch) was thir amazing Dynamite shrimp. Cocktails weren't great, service is good. Expensive and TBH not worth the price during lunch (other than the FANTASTIC Dynamite shrimp appetizer). Perhaps it's better quality during dinner? The scenery is nice, as in the atmosphere being nice and close to the water. The view being blocked mostly by thick dark pieces of wood was disappointing when they could have easily replaced that with something thinner and sturdy, but all in all a good atmosphere. Service was great, the waiter frequently asked about if there was anything that he could get us and was kind. Two appetizers, two entrees, two drinks, $130 with 22% tip...

Our late lunch here was very good. Nice beer selection, the ahi tuna poke bowls were delicious, the dolphin appearances were a bonus. Our service was just ok, unfortunately.

First time visiting. All I can say is AMAZING!! We were seated quickly inside by the window. Came during Sunday brunch. Atmosphere was very relaxing and chill. Our server, Milen Kostov from Bulgaria was on top of great service. He was very informative, knowledgeable, about the menu. We had the shrimp and grits which was savory, spicy and flavorful. And also the Smoked salmon on toast which was filling and delicious. A total 5 star! You won't be disappointed!
Rhonda J — Google review
I came to eat here for the first time and was really looking forward to the experience. I ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell, the artichoke crab dip, and the Bolognese. The oysters were very fresh and delicious, easily the highlight of the meal. The artichoke crab dip was also surprisingly good. I wasn’t sure how those flavors would mix together, but it ended up being really tasty and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the Bolognese was where I was most let down. The sauce was very heavy and not what I expected. The pasta was also slightly undercooked, which made it less enjoyable overall. The person I was with and I split the entrée, and as shown in the photo, there is a clear before and after comparison showing how little we ate before deciding to stop because neither of us liked it. The service was also disappointing. Our server greeted us, brought our drinks and food, and later brought the check, but there was no real engagement beyond that. He never came back to check if we liked our food, which would have been helpful with the Bolognese since we would have gladly tried something else had we been checked on. The plate sat in front of us for about 20 minutes untouched before the server returned to ask if we were finished. We let him know we didn’t like the dish, but instead of asking what was wrong, offering something different, or trying to make it right, he simply said “okay” and took the plate away. When the check came, I was surprised to see that the Bolognese was still included on the bill, even though we had barely touched it and clearly expressed that we didn’t like it. As someone who also works as a server, I know how important it is to show care for the guest’s experience and at least attempt to make it right. It was disappointing to see that kind of service here. Overall, I was pleased with the oysters, the dip, and the drinks, but the main course and service experience were not up to the standard I expected. I’m sharing this in a constructive way, not to be malicious, and have chosen not to include the server’s name out of respect. I hope this feedback helps the restaurant improve, because the food that was good was really good, and the place has potential to offer a great overall dining experience with a bit more attention to detail and guest care.
Seabass — Google review
A group of six of us sat for brunch last weekend and it was lovely! I particularly wanted to leave a review for the service. Though I didn't get our server's name, he made great, timely service look easy and approachable and it did not go unnoticed. As a first time visitor I look forward to coming back and sitting on the deck next time!

Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
The Wreck of the Richard & Charlene is a casual seafood restaurant located in Mount Pleasant's Old Village, known for its picturesque creek views and simple yet delicious Lowcountry-style fried seafood. The restaurant's name pays homage to a trawler that was thrown ashore during Hurricane Hugo in 1989. Despite its shabby exterior, the kitchen serves up Southern favorites like boiled peanuts, fried shrimp, and stone-crab claws.
If you’re chasing the real deal when it comes to fried shrimp, The Wreck of Richard and Darlene is it. No frills, no fuss — just perfectly golden, lightly battered shrimp done right. • Shrimp: Local, fresh, and fried to crispy perfection without being greasy. Salty, sweet, briny — everything lowcountry seafood should be. • Atmosphere: Casual waterfront vibes with just enough grit to remind you you’re in a working harbor, not a tourist trap. • Service: Friendly, fast, and no-nonsense. • Bonus: Cold beer, hush puppies that slap, and sunsets that feel like a reward. Come for the shrimp, stay for the vibe. This place delivers exactly what it promises — a five-star local experience.
Ted S — Google review
Only went here to take pictures because of watching the show the Outer Banks. Definitely looks like an Old school local restaurant. And a really cool fishing boat named the Playboy. I wish we could have eaten there but it didn't open until 5:00.
Don E — Google review
If you’re anywhere near Charleston, you must visit The Wreck of the Richard & Charlene. It doesn’t get more authentic than this — right on the water, laid-back atmosphere, and some of the freshest seafood you’ll ever taste. We had the shrimp and scallops, and both were absolutely perfect. Cooked just right, and seasoned with what I can only describe as their signature house herb mix — subtle, aromatic, and spot on. The shrimp come straight from the local fisherman next door, who also sells fresh seafood. Seriously, bring a cooler — eat first, then walk over and grab some fresh-off-the-boat shrimp for home. The vibe is super relaxed: yes, you’re eating on paper plates, but who cares when the food is this good? Honestly, I’ll take flavorful and real over fancy and forgettable any day. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Pro tip: come at sunset. The view is unreal — golden light over the marshes, boats swaying in the harbor… it’s pure coastal magic. Fun fact: several scenes from the Netflix series Outer Banks were filmed right here, and once you’re there, you’ll see why. Highly recommend. We’d come back in a heartbeat. This is one of those rare spots that gets everything right — from the food, to the setting, to the soul.
Julian D — Google review
I had been wanting to eat here. We came for dinner around 6:45 and I was disappointed that we couldn’t eat outside. It was a beautiful sunny day with a gorgeous sunset. Not too hot and humid. Honestly perfect night. You can have a drink outside but couldn’t eat dinner. We waited about 15 min for a table. We were seated. Friendly service. Ordered drinks and we ordered a play seafood platter and a triple combination (grilled). Big portions. Seafood and hush puppies were good. Rice was over salted. It’s nothing to write home about on the inside, I guess that’s where Wreck comes into play. But service, once we were seated was good and on point.
Sabine M — Google review
It was closed with a short note on the door. They could have saved me a trip from West Ashley by putting it on their website which I visited several times prior to coming over. The building wasn’t in very good condition. The chairs and tables were ragged. There was a good parking lot- if only. This was a location that the OBX were filmed so came here with a big group for dinner- but they were closed.
Cindy S — Google review
This is truly an amazing and delightful place! The food is all fresh and caught from Shem Creek! It is a little pricy and the service is quick but not that quick! The food and atmosphere is amazing and a lovely view of Shem Creek! The video attached is there amazing rice!

9/10/25 Interesting entrance…the restaurant was clean and funky. Meal served on paper plates. Our waitress was excellent and attentive. The shrimp was so fresh and delicious. Ice tea was cold and delicious. You can see the fishing boats coming and going. Try the key lime bread pudding! We enjoyed our meal at this funky place.
John D — Google review
I grew up on shem creek so I am a little biased but, this is how seafood is supposed to be. The service staff and kitchen are amazing. This is the ultimate seafood experience. They serve true local shrimp and it says it right on the front door, "we get our shrimp from next door". A most when visiting Charleston, pay with cash and save yourself some $$. This is were we film OBX so teenagers will love it.

Page's Okra Grill is a lively eatery that offers generous portions of casual Southern-focused home cooking all day long. Located conveniently for visitors in downtown Charleston and Mount Pleasant, it's the go-to spot for authentic Southern cuisine east of the Cooper River. The menu is extensive, featuring lowcountry favorites like Country Fried Steak, Shrimp and Grits, Southern Fried Chicken Livers, and Fried Oysters.
We visited on a Tuesday afternoon right after checking into our hotel and there was no wait. There is an option to sit outdoors or indoors, but we opted to eat in because it was hot and humid. The staff was very hospitable and made sure we were enjoying our meal and had everything we needed. The portions were huge and very satisfying. I went with the seafood platter and it was really good, but when they brought out the orders of hot fried chicken it looked mouth watering and everyone said it was delicious. The fried shrimp and crab cake was my favorite part of the platter. The red rice was just okay but the fried okra was good. The fish was also just okay and I would’ve been satisfied with extra shrimp and the crab cake. The coleslaw was also really good. Definitely a great value for your money and family friendly. We were full for the rest of the evening. I would most definitely recommend and come back.
Quadelya B — Google review
Had a wonderful meal here on a Saturday evening! Went out with the parents and the dog and Pages surpassed all my expectations. Troy was a great server and made the necessary changes to serve us better. Lots of seating indoor and out, and accommodating for dogs. They were out of a lot of draft beers but Troy gave us a recommendation for a tangerine beer by Sycamore (I think) and it was great! Grouper bites as an app were delicious and paired with a perfect sauce! I do think that $15 for an appetizer is quite high but it was delicious none the less. Everyone loved their meals and portions were very fair. We got a variety of dishes. The Pages seafood pasta was everything I dreamed of in a white sauce! The chicken and waffles were fantastic, and the pimento bacon fries were the angel on top of the Christmas tree. Please excuse my glazing, but we really enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere. Will definitely be back!!

We loved everything about this restaurant. From the hostess to our server to the food. I had Page's Famous Chicken & Waffles which was amazingly delicious. It's a savory waffle with bits of cheddar, corn, chorizo & jalapeño (but it wasn't spicy). The fried chicken breasts were flattened and easy to eat. My husband had Shrimp & grits which he absolutely loved. The grits are formed into cakes and then fried. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the grave was a light and creamy type instead of the usual brown type. Neither if us could finish our meals although we tried. Our server, Taylor, was outstanding!
Judy K — Google review
Amazing food! We got the classic Charleston seafood platter with a side of mac and cheese and okra fries and hushpuppies. Hushpuppies were small like just 2 balls the size of munchkins, but had flavor. The rest of the entree was deep fried goodness with lots of flavor in the batter. We also got the bass entree and the shrimp that came with that entree was so mouthwatering good, I will think about them every-time I have shrimp now. The carrot cake was huge. This was one of our most expensive meals during this trip but it was totally and completely worth it. They had so much indoor and outdoor seating. If you’re out of town, this is great.
Janis M — Google review
We’ve eaten here several times and enjoyed every meal. This is a great take on southern food without the meals feeling overly heavy. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place.

Man the hosts Are so friendly. Then you walk in and it smells divine. You want to order everything. It was just my husband and I. I came to Charleston for my birthday and decided to stay over here in Mount Pleasant. The manager at Hampton Inn suggested for some good food to come and was not disappointed. Thank you. WiFi needs help I wanted to review while sitting there.

We stopped in for lunch and ordered a basic smash burger and a steak ribeye sandwich. The burger was tasty with a generous amount of sauteed onions and cheese. The steak sandwich was a bit fatty and a bit of a disappointment. Service was very good and atmosphere ok. Hard to evaluate a place when only ordered a basic type of hamburger and generic steak sandwich. Maybe the classic Southern dishes are a better choice here.

We are out of towners and have been here twice before 4 years ago. This time were visiting with my whole family for my birthday dinner. Chase was our server and he couldn't have been more personable. The food was amazing, just like last time. Prices are great for the portions. I highly recommend the fried okra and fried chicken. They also gave me a free dessert for my birthday. The chocolate chess pie was to die for. The whole experience was so enjoyable. We always come back here when we go on vacation in this area. It has such a down home local country vibe. We absolutely love it!

This laid-back Mount Pleasant spot serves up Southern-inspired fare with great views of Shem Creek. There's a full bar with beer options to keep you refreshed, and the menu features classics like shrimp and grits and fried chicken as well as Cajun-inspired items like seafood jambalaya.
We went for food and atmosphere. Sat outside on the deck and ate. Listened to DJ down below from Muddy's and he was entertaining. The view with the river and other bars/restuarants was pretty. Food was good. Lots of us got fried shrimp and it was good.

I loved this place. I came here to eat oysters, since I saw that they serve oysters on Google Maps. Unfortunately, they weren't serving them and I didn't see them in the menu. The plate I ordered was a rice with seafood, a great option and a huge portion, I couldn't finish it. I had a draft beer, which was not cold enough to my taste. My waitress was super nice and attentive. The view I had from here was amazing. There are options for sitting inside, outside, and some nice windows with air conditioning available too. This is a very decent place for having a meal. A little expensive but I think it's worth it. It the tables and windows were cleaner it would be great! The parking system could be a little confusing. My advice is: park, have in mind your plate number, don't scan or pay anything before entering the restaurant, when you are in the restaurant they will provide you with a QR code where you have to enter your info and give you 3 hours of free parking.

Best Shem Creek View! Beautiful waterfront spot with amazing food and laid-back vibes! I had the Western Smash Burger and the Grilled Salmon BLT Sandwich—both were absolutely delicious. The burger was juicy with bold flavors, and the salmon was perfectly grilled, paired with crispy bacon and fresh greens. Great service and a relaxing view made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Mount Pleasant!

Definitely the calmer side of Shem Creek but with great views! We ate on the deck and the view was lovely as the sun was going down. The tables were nice and spaced out so we didn't feel like we were sitting on top of other people. Prices are fair and our server was very attentive and friendly. Definitely great service! I had the Ghost Melon Margarita and it was pretty good but didn't really have much spice flavor. We shared the Lowcountry Sauté over grits, which was a good choice because we didn't get overly stuffed. It was cranky and the flavor was good, just no "wow factor" with our meal, hence the 4⭐. It was supposed to be in a bourbon butter sauce but I couldn't taste any bourbon flavor. I'd go back simply for the atmosphere. Lovely deck!

Went to Morris island and then came to this restaurant before we headed back home. Amazing restaurant. Great location, food and service. Perfect sunset dinner. Our server, Hayden, was very polite and helpful. We truly enjoyed our meals. The Jambalaya was amazing.

As part of our visit to Isle of Palms beach and Shem Creek we called into Vickery’s for early dinner. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating with great views of the creek with its busy eateries and bars, lots of boats and people. Service was super friendly, attentive and fast. I had Cuban Sandwich with a side of Carolina red rice (my new favourite side!) and my partner had a smash burger with bacon and cheese with seasoned fries. Food was tasty and hot, not quite amazing but very nice - price is pretty much in line with most similar-type of grill bars. The atmosphere was great - we ate pretty early so it was fairly quiet when we arrived but it soon filled up - it had a great vibe about it, customers and staff all smiles. Would definitely visit again - perhaps next time I would try some seafood options as there were some nice dishes on the menu.

We (2) had dinner here on a Saturday night. They seated us pretty quickly, we sat in a booth by the bar to watch the game. The two bar tenders (a blond haired girl and a dark haired girl with glasses) that waited on us were great! They were super nice and attentive. The food was delicious and came out pretty quickly also! We got buffalo wings, I had the mahi with loaded mashed potatoes instead of the Carolina red rice and my husband got the Alfredo with salmon.

The Gin Joint is a charming and intimate bar and eatery that offers a 1920s-inspired setting, serving an eclectic array of small plates and cocktails. Since 2010, owner James Bolt has been at the forefront of creating innovative menus, striking a perfect balance between unique, thoughtful drinks and relaxed, friendly service. The dimly lit space provides the ideal ambiance to enjoy an impressive collection of craft spirits and expertly crafted cocktails that change regularly with the seasons.
Visiting the town stopped in. incredible selection of Gin and other liquor. My friend ordered a Chanel orange, tastes very bloody Mary, wasn't either our tastes they swapped it out no problem, and very knowledgeable about everything on their list. The outdoor patio is also great!

Fantastic cocktail joint with awesome cozy vibe. Sat at the little bar in the back and had some of the best cocktails we've ever had. Bartender was very knowledgeable and in tune to serving drinks to suit our specific taste, even offering a name 2 adjectives cocktail. If you go we would recommend asking for the Tokyo Rose made with a Japanese Rye whiskey. The small bites of food were excellent as well.

Had the most incredible experience at Gin Point! I picked “refreshing and tart” for my bartender’s choice drink word combination, and seriously… was the best drink I have ever tasted. Super vibey spot, with absolutely incredible service! Fun Fact - My strap on my dress actually ripped off mid-drinks & our waitress pulled out a sewing kit… & completely fixed my dress for the rest of the night. They truly go above & beyond!

Great craft cocktail bar! Stopped by tonight just before they closed and sat at the bar for a cocktail before last call. The bartender was amazing! What I was craving was not on the menu so I told him tequila, spicey, lime and cucumber and we created a delicious drink that always well balanced! The drinks are not cheap but they are good! Will be back for sure on my next visit.

If you’re looking for a cozy spot to cap off your evening, The Gin Joint is a great choice. I stopped by after dinner for a drink and loved the relaxed yet vibrant vibe. The space is beautifully decorated with both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a solid pick for couples or small groups. Instead of ordering from the menu, I sat at the bar and let the bartender work her magic based on the flavors I like. She nailed it not just once, but twice. My first drink was spot-on, and the second kicked things up a notch in the best way. The service was warm and intentional, which added to the experience. If you’re in Charleston and enjoy craft cocktails in a stylish, intimate setting, I’d definitely recommend making time for The Gin Joint.

Great little place tucked minutes away from the Pineapple. Cozy European-style outdoor patio. Great and knowledgeable staff. Our second visit here. We both enjoyed the vibes of the place: not touristy, great selection of gins, creative small provisions (egg appetizer and pretzels are awesome) I had a gin flight (4 smalls and I let Lucy pick because she did great last time; I just specified the destination) and she did not disappoint. If you are a gin lover or just want to try a new specialty small venue, please do. Cheers!

We stopped by around 8:00 pm and noticed a cute outside seating area with about five wrought iron tables — three were taken. It was muggy out, so we put our names on the waiting list (10 minutes) hoping to cool down inside. When we stepped inside, the vibe was cozy and seemed like the perfect spot for a quick cocktail before our walking ghost tour. The hostess who greeted and seated us was friendly and welcoming. Once seated, however, the room felt just as warm as outside and quite crowded. We were given a small plates menu, a specialty menu, and a large liquor menu — plus a bottle of room-temperature water with two glasses. No one explained whether the warm water was intentional, and after being seated, no server ever approached our table. After waiting more than 10 minutes without service, we decided to leave. We left a few dollars on the table and let the hostess know. The atmosphere and concept are appealing, but the lack of service really soured the experience for us.

I went for my first time this past Saturday night with three other coworkers. We happen to run into two other people we knew and sat at their table . They had been there already for 45 minutes. I was disappointed to hear that they did not serve vodka since they served everything else so I ordered one drink which was tequila and soda($17). We later then received our bills which were four separate bills one for myself and three for the coworkers . The couple that have been there before already had their bill. We had not asked for separate bills either but we're very shocked and surprised to see that each of us had 20% added to our bills for gratuity automatically total bill was $23. I am a big Tipper usually over Tipper so I was very upset about automatically having that 20% gratuity added. I then went and talked to the female server who told me that it's automatic because it was a party of six . I said we were not a party of six we just ran into friends and sat with them . Nor did we ask for Separate Checks so how can we be considered a party of six. She was only remotely apologetic and didn't care or ask for a manager or anything. I will never go to that place again it wasn't crowded and it wasn't that special. Don't waste your time and money and be cautious about this automatic gratuity being added to your bills none of us would have known unless we just looked at the bill carefully. We work for the airlines and and were there on an overnight. We also have big word of mouth on advice to where to go eat and drink, this will be a big fat and hard no for us to ever recommend!

The Shelter Kitchen + Bar is a dog and family-friendly hangout in Mount Pleasant, offering a locally sourced menu with a twist on classic American dishes. The outdoor deck provides a relaxing atmosphere for enjoying live music, drinking games, and events. The late-night special menu features great drinks and cocktails, making it an ideal spot for socializing with friends or having a date night. With its proximity to local dog parks and nature trails, this bar is perfect for canine companions.
I chose this place because of how dog-friendly and family-friendly it is. It was easy to bring my baby's stroller and still sit inside. Service was fast and great! Food was really good. I loved the crab cake BLT and the sweet potato fries are so so good. Worth the side upgrade charge. My husband had the holy city burger without the bun, and on a bed of lettuce which was also really good. My friend had the smash burger without fries and she liked it! A great, chill place with good food!!

Great time! We sit outside for a 4th of July dinner and like the music there. Food was good but nothing special. Loaded fries were TOP, highly recommend to split. Brisket melt was just OKAY, bacon BLT was good but avocado inside is in a hot sandwich so it was hard to eat, I’d rather get something else next time. Portions are big, that’s good. Shem Sunrise is a pretty cocktail but not too strong. Waiters were nice but it does take some time for them to circle back to your table and refill drinks. It was $72 for two people with one cocktail and one side. Overall, recommend for young people if you are on Shem Creek.

My wife and I had lunch at The Shelter Kitchen. There were very few people there on this Tuesday at noon, It took awhile for a hostess to appear, but she eventually came and said to sit anywhere. The BBQ chicken quesadillas and the Holy Mother Clucker Chicken Sandwich were generous-sized and delicious. The sweet potato fries were good, but the fried okra was disappointingly fried pickled okra, and we didn't eat much of it. I think that should be described as such on the menu. There were lots of TVs on, so this should be a happening place during football games this fall.

We had a great time visiting SC and enjoyed this restaurant. The food and drinks were so good! They have a great patio and indoor area. Plus they are dog friendly. Our server Anna S. was so great. We had an issue getting the garnishes for one of the bloodies and she made sure we were taken care of. Highly recommend.

So honestly, I enjoy the place. Service was pretty good. My only problem was, BBQ was dry. Like it has been pulled apart and sitting for a while under a lamp..... It tastes very good, but again very dry. However, the rice was on point. I'd eat here again, but I doubt I'll get your BBQ again. 🦈💙

I absolutely love the dog friendly atmosphere at The Shelter. The food is ALWAYS good and I love watching my favorite college and NFL games there. The staff is so welcoming and the service is always great! Recently, Ava was our server and she is the best! She made my pup feel right at home, everyone loved the food and the attentive service with a smile. Love this place!

Just recently moved to the area and have been looking for some good food spots. Tried out The Shelter with some of my buddies and had a great experience. The food was great, but the atmosphere and service are definitely some of the best that I’ve seen in the CHS area. Our server, Ava, was extremely quick and on top of things, despite it being relatively busy when we visited. Will be going back again soon!

Two stars is generous! The omelettes were lacking ingredients, except eggs. The cooks added extra eggs to fill the plate, but very few add-ins. The waitress took our order and brought our food, that was it. She never refilled our drinks or checked on our table. I had to get her attention to pay. The entire place needs a scrub! We should have turned around and walked out when we saw the grime everywhere. Actually, the first sign should have been when we looked online and they had lots of available reservations. I’m writing this review to help others know what to expect.

Located in a retail area off Ann Knapp Drive in Mt. Pleasant, Locals Sushi & Sports Pub is a laid-back hangout known for its sushi and late-night entertainment. In addition to sushi, they offer tacos such as the Caribbean Jerk Pork Taco and the Hangover Taco with sweet potato chorizo hash. The bar features a diverse cocktail menu, an extensive beer collection, and offers three-dollar wells during happy hour on weekdays from 4 pm to 7:30 pm.
Went here for their 1/2 off sushi rolls while my family was in town. Food was delicious, service was great. Place was a little small but they did a great job with fitting as many tables as possible. We will definitely be back.

If you're in Mt. Pleasant, SC and looking for a place that perfectly blends fresh sushi with a fun, laid-back sports bar atmosphere, Local Sushi and Sports Pub is a must-visit! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like regulars—genuinely welcoming, upbeat, and attentive throughout the entire visit. Their service was top-tier without being overbearing, striking that perfect balance that makes a meal truly enjoyable. Now let's talk about the sushi—spectacular is an understatement. Every roll was beautifully presented, incredibly fresh, and bursting with flavor. You can tell the chefs take pride in both their craft and the quality of their ingredients. The specialty rolls were creative and unique, offering a twist on traditional favorites while still delivering on taste. Whether you're there to catch the game on one of their many TVs or to indulge in high-quality sushi with friends, Local Sushi and Sports Pub delivers. We’ll absolutely be back!

Really good appetizers and sushi. We had chips and queso, edamame and crab wontons. Spicy tuna and salmon rolls for our entree and a burger which was really really good. The beef was wellwell seasoned and the fries are coated to provide extra crunch. Excellent experience.

Locals in Mt. pleasant is the best location of all of them in my opinion. Although they are usually very busy, especially on the half sushi rolls day, they have a lot of indoor and offer outdoor seating. I also like that they have live music playing on Monday nights. We were able to snag a couple seats in the back and avoid the wait. They don’t take reservations so you want to get there at a decent time on Mondays. My husband is gluten-free and he was able to order off of their gluten-free menu, which was really nice. The sushi here is pretty good quality, and we love to come here on Monday nights. We inhaled our sushi rolls so I forgot to take any photos 😆 but I love the spicy salmon, mt. Pleasant roll and eel roll.

Great food and our server was wonderful. It is a bar so the tables are close together and there's a lot of noise, just be mindful of that when choosing this restaurant. All of the sushi was very fresh and flavorful and everyone was happy with their food. 10/10 would return

My rating is solely based on my experience today and not my overall experience with the restaurant. Otherwise I would give it 5⭐️ This is a very interesting place because as a person that loves sushi, the sushi is very great and the bartenders can really make or break your experience at any place. No different here. This was my third time experiencing this place. Second time at this location and on August 4 during happy hour it showed me why I only go to certain places when certain bartenders are working. The bartender this day was completely standoffish. Gave more attention to the hosts than me. He would yell across the bar at the hostess which is always a turnoff to meet at bars. He was very short and clearly didn’t want to converse more than taking my order which is always a deciding factor in frequently a certain bar, especially when certain people are or aren’t working. While the food and drinks have been good on each of my visits, not all bartenders are good at their job and I would never come back to this location when the bartenders that were working today are there.

Last Saint, a bar opened in September 2021 by Charleston bartender Joey Goetz, offers a modern and chic vibe. The signature cocktails are innovative and delicious, with the Tandem Bike standing out as unexpectedly balanced and intriguing. While the bar can get loud and packed during busy times, it provides a solid stop in Charleston's bar scene on more relaxed nights. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the fantastic vibes of the place.
Loved Last Saint in Charleston, South Carolina. The service was incredible. The bartenders were swift, friendly and accommodating. The drinks were so well thought out and had amazing drink profiles. I loved everything we had. Safe word and old salt were just delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try other drinks.

This bar had a very intimate and friendly atmosphere. They had a really good music playlist that was eclectic. The cocktails were amazing 👏🏾 Everything we ordered was original, dynamic and strong. Everything on the menu looked really good. Husk is a culinary gem nestled in a beautifully restored Victorian-era home in Charleston's historic district. Since its inception in 2010, this restaurant has captivated both critics and food enthusiasts with its innovative approach to Southern cuisine, led by the talented James Beard award-winning chef Sean Brock. The menu is a delightful surprise that changes daily, showcasing locally sourced Low Country ingredients and honoring traditional Southern heirloom recipes.
We chose to celebrate our ten year anniversary at Husk. We had scallops for our appetizer, that were fresh and light but I would prefer a sear or for them to be warm. I appreciate the creativity of the chef though! I am celiac so wanted to have the cornbread which was a savory delight! We were surprised to only see one fish entree on the menu and that’s what I chose for my entree! It too was very creative with lots of flavor. My husband had the rabbit and while a much heavier and heartier dish, he enjoyed it as well. I think we both would have liked to see more fish on the menu but maybe there is on other nights. Our server was excellent! He was very knowledgeable and aware allergens. I felt very safe eating here with celiac and was so pleased with the options. One way to make a celiac happy is to have more options on the dessert menu and there were several! I couldn’t believe the cake we shared was gluten free! It was out of this world and probably my favorite part of the meal!

We had the chance to dine at Husk, a place we’d heard so much about. The atmosphere is warm and lively, and the staff have a great sense of humor—at one point they were laughing that my partner’s shirt looked just like their uniform. The color was almost identical, though theirs was cotton and his was linen. A lighthearted detail that made the evening even more memorable. The tuna tartare was good, though it took quite a bit of persuading to get bread with it. Oddly enough, other dishes on the menu include bread, but here it seemed like a challenge. Eventually, the waiters relented and brought it over. The real highlight of the evening, however, was the mushroom pasta. Perfectly cooked, layered over a rich mushroom purée (or perhaps a silky sauce), topped with grits. The dish was boldly seasoned with black pepper—spicy, sharp, and pronounced—yet beautifully balanced. Paired with a glass of Pinot Noir, it was perfection. Out of our entire trip, this is the one dish that truly stayed with me. In fact, I would say it’s the best dish I’ve had in the past year—even compared to meals in Michelin-starred restaurants.
Kristina Z — Google review
Made birthday reservations and our waiter Kevin was absolutely amazing! Fantastic suggestions, perfect timing on the courses and drinks. Hit all of the highlights and answered all of our question; even when he said he'd have to differ to the bartender Damian when we asked for suggestions about adding a shot of something to the mockingbird, mocktail (Bar Hill Tom Cat gin, I will not be able to recommend this enough and I'm not usually a gin drinker). The oyster starter was grilled to perfection and my companions arent usually fans of oysters and I nearly had to fight them for my share! The pimento cheese and ham was super flavorful and the biscuits fluffy while still being sturdy, great highlight to the house pickles. The scallop starter was light and flavorful, a little bit of spice from the jalapeño, but not too overwhelming. The cornbread side was absolutely delightful, the eggplant flavorfull and well roasted. The chicken fried rabbit was jucy and delicious, the grits and gumbo offset it with a wonderfully deep, rich flavor. The pastrami was pull apart soft and juicy, with some solid roasted potatoes. The diver scallops were buttery smooth and melt in your mouth; the succotash was lightly sweet, with a lot of good corn flavor and a hint of roasted tomatillo. The icebox cake was much lighter than I was expecting with a good mocha flavor and smooth dark chocolate pastry. The seasonal ice cream we went with was the muscadine, which is apparently a local grape, which we never would have guessed, and will now go on, wishing it was a flavor we could get shipped back home with us to MN. It was absolutely amazing, light and flavorful with some vanilla bean, and i now have a quest to get my hands on some of those grapes. We will absolutely be returning for more seasonal options and to find out whats for dinner next time!

This was the most amazing experience. Our server Chris was phenomenal. We came for a special occasion and the staff KNEW. It was phenomenal. The menu was personalized for us. The food was phenomenal. We had the Carolina rice, cornbread to start - I would recommend splitting one of those not getting both. They were both amazing but it definitely was a generous portion so it was tough to finish the entrees. For mains we had pork rib eye and rabbit rigatoni. Both were amazing. Drinks were served quickly and cold so we were happy campers. After dinner we headed to “the bar at husk” which was also a great place to settle in after a hearty dinner. Definitely an earned reputation for Husk. Top 10 dining experience.

Firstly, beware that there are two sides of HUSK. One is fine dining and the other is casual bar dining. We mistakenly went to the casual side although we intended on fine dining, we weren't disappointed. The food were delicious and the service was excellent and the ambience was great. The burger and fries were the best I've had a a restaurant and okra was amazing. I recommend this place for a great dining experience.

This is one of my favorite brunch spots in Charleston—it’s definitely a staple! I would highly recommend anything on the menu, but the deviled eggs are absolutely incredible. I also loved the shrimp and grits, and the pimento cheese plate with biscuits and prosciutto is a must-try. The service here is always amazing—the staff is friendly, attentive, and really makes the experience special. Husk is one of those places you’ll keep coming back to! It’s my second time this summer😋

WOW. It was packed on a Monday night and it’s easy to see why. The dirty california gold rice was insanely flavorful and moist, the cornbread skillet was delicious, the pastrami brisket was so tender with a flavorful crust…such an unreal meal! What a great place this is and they have great seating options. We went on a Friday evening after making reservations earlier in the day. This was the absolute best dining we experienced in Charleston while we were there. The only complaint i could have was the parking. Parking area was way too small and we checked out way before the 3 hr limit and was still being charged for parking when not even there.

We had an incredible dinner at Water’s Edge on Shem Creek. I ordered the Seafood Pasta with Cajun cream sauce — it was packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. My wife had the Ahi Tuna appetizer with a wedge salad, and both were excellent. The tuna was perfectly prepared, and the wedge salad was huge, with some of the best blue cheese dressing and crumbles we’ve ever had. The view made the experience even better — watching boats go by on Shem Creek and seeing the lights across the water created a perfect evening atmosphere. Great food, great vibe, and a great spot to relax and enjoy the Lowcountry. Highly recommend!

The staff was truly outstanding, these are employees who hustle hard and still manage to smile the entire time. I expected the food to be an easy flop, but the burger was actually outstanding. To sum it all up, this is a must-go dive bar, even if you only stop in for a quick beer.

An interesting pub, I visited twice but decided not to stay so to be fair, I did not try their food or even a drink. It’s worth a visit for its character. The reason I didn’t stay was because it was a bit loud and busy. Having been to similar places, this one is a little over the top on the dollar bills being pinned to everything… (in my opinion) I felt it looses some true character of the building. Again, worth a visit, especially if you just want to hang out late at night with friends etc., you be the judge.

We stopped in after walking around Charleston and checking out Waterfront Park. We weren't looking for a heavy meal since we had dinner plans later that evening so we wandered into the Griffon. We got a fish and chips basket to split and my husband ordered a gose. The staff was great and our order made it to our table quickly. Food was fresh and our drinks were refilled often.

I like this bar! It looks so unique with all the dollar bills on the walls. I can't comment on food because I only had beer but we got a table immediately when we walked in. It was also a bit crowded given its popularity but ordering was smooth and not long of a wait. I definitely recommend it as a stop if ever you visited Charleston- walk around downtown and it's a cool spot for a quick stop!

My wife were trying to find a place to grab a drink and some lunch and this was the closest place to us, so we decided to try it. It's a great atmosphere! Really cool place to do what we were wanting to do. Food was fantastic and the beer was cold. Waitresses were extremely responsive. I got the nachos and my wife got the Nashville chicken. The nachos are not store bought and it just adds to the flavor. Really great place! I highly recommend!

I travel for work and dine at a lot of restaurants, rarely to I find an establishment that doesn’t have a flaw. The Griffon is FLAWLESS!! Impeccable service! Food was absolute perfection! The restaurant is very clean, including the restrooms. The servers were charming. Park in the city garage and easily walk to The Grffon.

Unique decor. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer, and they were good. I had a grilled chicken breast with BBQ sauce and fries. Fries were perfectly done. My husband had the southern ruben with tater tots and said it was ok.

Went here after a kayaking tour and this place was the highlight of our trip! First of all the view of the water is stunning! We saw so many dolphins while we were eating! I had the BEST trash can nachos of my life. Get the smoked turkey it was so juicy and flavorful. Their sweet tea was also one of the best we tried all trip! I also got the chopped salad with shrimp and it was just enough food to split with my mom. Our waiter was wonderful! I give this place 10/10!

This place has it all!! First of all I've visited twice so far and each time my family was treated very well. My son is handicapped and they were able to accommodate our seating for him. The food is soooo good!! My son has had the cowboy burger and sweet potato fries each time we came. He gorges himself until he can't eat another bite. (He's 4) I got the brisket and smoked wings. Both are very good but I've got to say the brisket is DeEeEe- licoius!! I'm not normally a Brisket person but theres something about this that is just (Italian miss)! The collard greens are very good as well. As we were in our way out another group of women was suggesting to try the coconut cake next time. They mentioned it was so big all 3 of them are off of it and it was the best they have had- just putting that here for someone wanting to know what to get for desert. Oh and the view.... Amazing! I will say that if you come in the evening during sunset the upstairs dining area gets pretty warm from the sun beaming through the windows. (Hopefully they can add some fans at some point) We're going to be in the area for a few more days and will definitely be back!!!

Highly recommend this Gem of a place. If you love sitting outside with a view of the water and boats passing, this is a must visit. The special cocktail 🍹, the seafood appetizer and meals were all A+. Can't say enough about the place and there is plenty of room out on the deck to set. The wait staff were friendly, checked on us several times and even brought my son's family dog water, a snack and scarf for her neck. 2 out of 10, they get a 14 !!!!

Great place to eat! Right on the water, great staff. The nachos look great-wish we had ordered them. The brussel sprouts were amazing. I had the creek bowl-filled with great stuff but lacking in flavor. The pulled pork and brisket tacos were really good.

The view and service was amazing! The drinks were great. The food was good. The trashcan nachos were a great presentation. The chips do tend to get soggy pretty quick. A suggestion would be to maybe have a little bit of the chips on the outside the can to have some solid chips. The brussel sprouts were my hands down favorite. The fried green tomatoes were well done & the sauce was a wonderful balance. The shrimp were perfectly cooked & the sauce had a great balance of spicy and sweet.

Brooklyn & Madison got us the perfect table at the bay, & Carter our waiter was spot on with great service. The music group Relay Relay played wonderful, to set a perfect sunset evening. Highly recommended this place. The Smoked wings were the best.

Great dog friendly restaurant. We were seared quickly even with a line, food was good, but service was a little slow. They were very busy though, so I cant complain. Staff was very inviting and they even have a "dog menu" not to mention the drinks and view were fantastic

Great Spot for a Late Lunch! I stopped by with some friends on a Sunday for a late lunch/early dinner, and we had a fantastic time. There’s plenty of parking, and the location is easy to find. The restaurant offers spacious indoor seating with a few outdoor tables, and the atmosphere fits the vibe perfectly. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, checking on us regularly. Drinks were refilled quickly, even before we finished the first round! As for the food, the burgers were amazing—definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend this place for a casual and enjoyable meal!

Quiet late night dinner. Stopped in because I wanted a burger and grabbed the pasta, too! Burger and fries were fantastic. I got the California burger. The seafood pasta was good, too, but the bacon was over powering for the dish. The seafood was fresh! I'll be back to try more of the burgers for sure! Kid friendly, bar, booth, and outdoor seating is available. Plenty of parking and great location. Thanks!!

Review – Coleman Public House We had a great experience at Coleman Public House. The food, drinks, and service were all very good. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which was creamy and flavorful. For our mains, the cheeseburger and the caramelized onion & Swiss burger were both delicious—juicy, well-prepared, and satisfying. The drinks were a highlight as well; the Espresso Martini was smooth with just the right kick, and the Watermelon Margarita was refreshing and well-balanced. Overall, a solid spot for good food, tasty cocktails, and friendly service. Give them a try you decide 🤔

It’s a very nice place with great food and drinks, spacious and full of atmosphere. Parking is free and ample. This was our first time trying the Tomato Napoleon, and the dish was very interesting. Perhaps the chef could make the tomatoes a little softer, but it was still delicious with a unique flavor. Highly recommended!

I ordered the Public House Burger which was a great option with a vegan burger patty. Fresh crispy fries and I had a perfect slice of carrot cake for dessert, that was extremely delicious. Great restaurant choice when you are in the area to give a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Delicious, homemade, crafted burgers. Unique offerings all across the menu. Our family of 2 adults and 4 kids savored every bite! The fried green tomato tower was fabulous! Great service and atmosphere. Coleman’s just became one of our favorites in Mt. Pleasant.

Easy parking and good service. The food was decent too. The fish and chips were a little under seasoned but otherwise the fish was really fresh and it was fried to perfection. The Mac and Cheese is what you would expect Mac and Cheese to taste like. The burger was juicy but could use a little more seasoning as well.

Grace & Grit, located in Mt. Pleasant, SC, is a Southern specialist known for its creatively flavored grits that accompany the surf 'n' turf dishes sourced from the area. The restaurant exudes rustic Southern charm and offers a menu focused on classic Southern cooking with a strong emphasis on gluten-free gourmet grits.
I recently dined at Grace & Grit, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! It has a charming decor that perfectly complements the low country costal feel. Now, let's talk about the food! Their grits options are nothing short of amazing. I tried the shrimp and grits, and it was the best I've ever had—creamy, flavorful, and the shrimp were cooked to perfection. They also offer a variety of other Southern staple dishes that are equally impressive. The chicken and waffles is a must-try; it’s crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, the topping on the waffles is absolutely delicious. If you're looking for a place that serves delicious Southern cuisine with a beautiful setting and exceptional service, Grace & Grit is the one.
Alondra R — Google review
Upon visiting Grace & Grit in the fair town of Mount Pleasant, I was most heartily impressed. The grit flight, a veritable sampler of the South’s finest fare, was a triumph — the red beans and rice grits, in particular, stirred my spirit like a bugle call at dawn. The breads were of fine size and splendid flavor, a worthy companion to the meal. The shrimp and grits entrée was of exceptional quality, seasoned with the kind of care one might expect from a devoted Southern cook tending to Sunday supper. We took our leisure upon the patio, where the breeze was kind, and the service rendered to us was as genteel and attentive as any I have known. A fine establishment indeed. I shall return with haste.

Believe the hype. Ok. I know I am a little free and easy with the ratings. My wife tells me all the time. 5 stars is only for “ when nothing could possibly been better”. Well. We had an Old Fashioned. A wine. Two Manhattan's. The bread basket appetizer and the clams. All highly recommended. And nothing could have been better. Staff is very friendly and will tailor your mixed drink to your budget. You want a $15 dollar drink or a $50 one ? They got you. Will be very happy to come back. .
Andrew K — Google review
The menu contained a lot of high fatty foods and sugar which is ruining America's health. The quiche was too creamy and had an apple garnish that was too sweet. The apple tartness should be balanced with much less sugar. The grapefruit was Brulé but too much sugar on top again. The chef would do well to cut back on the sugar and the fat and offer something other than fried chicken on several of the entrées because it is making Americans fat and is very bad for the health. Perhaps they should be updated in nutrition. I know the chef is trying to create unusual food but it's just not working for some of us who are health conscious and want cleaner food, less sugar and less fat.
Linda A — Google review
The food was phenomenal, definitely try the grit flight. Inventive dishes and southern classics, top notch service and such a cool atmosphere. Highly recommend you make reservations ahead of time. For three adults we spent $200 with tip- so pricey but the portions were massive- more than enough for two meals. This place would make an impressive first date or fancy date night out.

9/13/2025 decided to try this place for breakfast. The orange juice was $5 for a very small glass!!! That was not a good start. I know it's Charleston but that was a rip off. I ordered the flight of grits, two scrambled eggs and the sausage and gravy biscuit. The flight of grits was delicious! The grits with gouda cheese was my favorite. The pesto grits were interesting but tasty. The jalapeño grits were delicious, get them if you like spicy. I was disappointed in the biscuit with gravy. The biscuit needed to be split in half and it was too dry. The scrambled eggs were delicious! Some of the best I've had, one suggestion, don't salt the eggs let the customer salt them. They were on the verge of being too salty for my taste. I would definitely go back for the grits! We also got the Johnny cakes, they were interesting not my favorite. My girlfriend loved them though. Get bigger glasses for orange juice! You can see the small glass in the Johnny cakes pic.

Was looking for a place to have dinner my last night in Charleston. I was planning on going downtown but as I was staying in Patriot’s Point area, decided to see what was around. I came upon G&G on search, read the reviews and checked the menu. Looked good so decided to go. I’ve worked in the food and beverage industry for most of my life and managed casual to gourmet. This was one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time! The Fried Oysters Rockefeller app would have made a great meal on its own. It’s a dish you can’t describe, just have to try it. The quality and taste of all the ingredients were perfect! Could eat that every day… I intended to have a seafood night, but saw there was a Smoked Beef Rib on the menu. I haven’t had a good one since I was in Texas a couple years ago, so decided to try that at my server’s recommendation. Wow!! Another home run dish. Not only was it sizable, I didn’t need to use my knife as it was cooked to perfection, super tender and absolutely delicious. Once again, all the elements on the plate were perfect together. Unfortunately, there was no room for dessert. I had eyed the Coconut Cream Grit Brûlée had there been. I will have to wait until back in the area again to come dine here, but if you have the chance to do so, you will not be disappointed! Come with like 4 people so you can try different things. Also, you won’t need to deal with all the hassles of navigating downtown parking, crowds, etc. What a great find…

As we entered there is an old fashion revolving door which was cool. The inside is completely open and spacious. There are tv’s all over playing every sport you’d like. I had the BBQ Chicken Sandwich with Bacon and Smoked Gouda ‘twas delicious. My wife had the Philly Steak with Caramelized onions, Red & Green Peppers. She said it was the best Philly she’s had in a long, long time, “They got the peppers just right”. My daughter had the Penne Chicken & Sun Dried Tomatoes which she enjoyed. Oh, I almost forgot the Waffle Fries were good too. Our waitress was funny and very attentive. We’ll be back I’m sure.

We usually come here when we visit Charleston for a long weekend. So this Friday night we stopped in for 🍽️ dinner and watch the Carolina Hurricanes 🌀 (Canes) game. Unfortunately the restaurant couldn’t get the game 😫 Blacked out we believe. However, the manager was quick to try and jump in and get the game for us with no luck. Thank you to him for trying to accommodate our request. 👏🏼 Our server was amazing. He was very attentive and always there to get us fresh 🍹 . Food came out hot and in a timely manner. 😊 The food this time was a little bit disappointing 😒although the shrimp eggrolls were amazing. I ordered the wings-they were overdone and dry. The waffle fries-never disappoint 🙂 Husband ordered pasta with shrimp 🍤 and enjoyed it. On a sidenote, the last time we were here, I ordered the chop salad that you can pretty much make to order and that was out of this world good 👍🏻 👍🏻 We will definitely come back as we always enjoy the service and the food usually is really good. We still highly recommend this restaurant they must’ve just had a bad batch of wings. 😒 See you next year!! 👋

Grace and Christian served us WELL. The food was delicious and flavorful. The ambience is for sure sports bar. Overwhelming amount of screen but, it was calm and relaxed. We had the wings, which you can split the flavors in 2 on. The signature chicken Chesapeake and the spinach dip, which could be a little creamier, yet still delicious. Will gladly return again on a weekday when it's not too busy. Parking was also pretty easy. The revolving door is different but a little restricting.

Had a terrific dinner at the Red Drum. It has an interesting and varied menu. Everything is scratch made and the dishes we had, although mundane, were delicious! Our server, Katie H., was outstanding. Attentive, but not overly so, accommodating, pleasant, and efficient. We started with the chips and salsa. This comes with both a red and a green salsa. Both were so good we took whatever we had left home. They were tasty, tangy, and spicy. I had the wood grilled cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. I asked for it grilled medium well and it was perfect. It comes with lettuce, tomato, and onion. It was as good as the picture looks. My wife had the grilled chicken salad. I didn't have any, but she said it was excellent (and she's very trustworthy). Oh, and I had an Espresso Martini, also delicious. A little pricey at $80 (not including tax and tip), but considering we had an appetizer and a drink along with the quality of the food and the great service, I think worth it.

Great local spot, generous pours in the wine department, all plates were full loaded and massive portions and yet the flavors kept coming! So, the prices are kind of crazy but the food, the food is exceptional. The French fries are, dare I say it, the best I have ever tasted (very yummy). The chicken is fantastic and the desserts are heavenly. So, if you are willing to pay the price, it is definitely worth it.

We ate here with 8 people and everyone loved the food. From kids quesadills to Pan Seared Sea Scallops, everything was delicious. It's a really nice atmosphere that feels different than most restaurants. Low light and old wooden doors make you feel like you are in a different time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the Pan Seared Sea Scallops were the best Scallops I have ever had.

Great Father’s Day brunch experience after a tentative start. Though it took a good 15 minutes before our server arrived, she owned it and comp’d our dessert without us ever having to say a word! Great integrity! Mimosa and Bloody Mary to start with an appetizer of Fried Shrimp. Fresh and very lightly fried. Our entrées were Shrimp and Grits and Eggs Benedict followed by the house made doughnuts with caramel cream. Everything was prepared to perfection. Truly worth the visit.

The restaurant, led by renowned Chef Nico Romo, presents a diverse menu featuring creatively prepared shellfish and seafood sourced from local providers. With its upscale yet welcoming ambiance, NICO showcases sleek steel exteriors and cozy interiors with wood paneling and exposed brick.
We had a delightful time here at NICO. We ordered drinks, oysters, entrées, and the crème brûlée dessert. The Wood-fired Napoleon oysters were just perfect! The lobster roll was exquisitely prepared — the best we’ve ever had. The crème brûlée was fired right in front of us to caramelize the sugar on top, and it tasted amazing. The bouillabaisse was alright — it was sparse on the seafood. We sat outside in the patio area. Other than a few mosquitos, it was a very pleasant experience sitting and enjoying our food and our company. I will definitely return to NICO in September for those oysters and that lobster roll!

What a great place: fabulous fresh oyster (served the way they should be: still attached and full of sea water), unusual quenelle (could use a tad of cayenne to enhance the taste) and a tasty peach tatin… Muscadef was very good too! Service was perfect: attentive and efficient!! We’ll be back!

It was a good dining experience. I sat at the bar and was taken care of fairly quickly and well during my visit. The cheese puffs were absolutely outstanding and remarkable. I can't say I have ever had such great food and service. The quality was exceptional. This was our 37th wedding anniversary and we couldn't have dreamed of a better place with better food. It's every bit worth the price. We had Escargot, ( was my first tasting) it was in a butter, and garlic seasoning that was so good and not at all chewy or tough or any of the things people mistakenly think it will taste like. The Duck Cassoulet was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of flavors. We finished with the best Baked Alaska I've ever had! One of the quieter bars on the block. Which I liked. No food but full focus on mixed drinks & booze. Their speciality is shots. With a ficus on well crafted well or bottom shelf liquor. The bartender was great. Id like higher quality booze for a 17$ drink.

If you enjoy a beautifully crafted cocktail, you definitely have to visit this spot. This spot is definitely one of the better craft cocktail locations in the area, if not the best! Fresh juices and syrups are prepared and used daily, and you can taste the difference with each sip. A true master mixology approach is used in the preparation of each beverage! The mixologists here are very knowledgeable and know the craft well! This location is drinks only, so solid sustenance should be planned accordingly. It's definitely worth a stop, whether it be a pre-dinner cocktail, in between stop, or a nightcap!

This was our first stop on our evening out for the bachelorette party, and we knew all the cocktails would be speciality items but their takes on some of the drinks were not our style. The bar was small and crowded making it hard to find a table for 6 of us. We all ordered a different drink and most of us were very disappointed. One of the drinks had the Charleston Buck had egg white in it and none of us liked it. The Hemingway Daiquiri had an overwhelming flavor or grapefruit juice, and tasted very tart and bitter compared to a typical daiquiri. The Pink Rabbit was ok with a fresh taste to it. We felt the cocktails were overpriced and not quite what we were looking for. The server was AMAZING and super knowledgable with his descriptions of the drinks and passion for the menu. Its a nice place if your looking for a casual evening to share a drink or two but too small for large parties for if you go too late its standing room only.

Hanging out on King St.? Stop by Proof for some fine cocktails. Anything you want. The bar is loaded. They have an Absinthe urn so we had to have one. The cocktail menu is extensive and the bar keeps are artisans. Stop by. You won't be disappointed.

Friendly barkeeps, I’m not sure what happened with those 1-star reviews. We were recommended this bar from one of the staff at the Dewberry and they did not lead us astray. Our drinks were phenomenal, and Keith the bartender offered us a new invention of his called “Poseidon’s Ruin”, which was incredible. Proof was our favourite of the 4 stops we made that night, and would highly recommend stopping in if the opportunity arises.

This was a great spot to stop and grab a beer and one their many shots off of their 100 shots list. The service was fast and the bartenders were very friendly. This is a great change of pace from going to the typical dark cocktails bars downtown. Worth a stop before or after a dinner downtown.

Uptown Social is a lively multi-level neighborhood tavern and sports bar situated in the heart of upper Kings entertainment district. The venue offers a vibrant atmosphere with a diverse menu featuring thin-crust pizza, sliders, and upscale pub fare alongside signature cocktails and frozen drinks. The rooftop deck boasts colorful foliage, striking murals, and cozy string lights, creating an Instagram-worthy setting for live music and dancing.
The PERFECT venue for our wedding welcome party! The Uptown Social team was amazing to work with! They were so helpful in bringing our vision to life. The drinks and food were amazing and so reasonably priced. The private space upstairs has an indoor and outdoor space which was awesome - the guests loved it! We had over 100 guests stop by and they fit perfectly. I can't recommend this venue enough for any private event!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Great vibe, but service needs backup!” Uptown Social has a fun, high-energy atmosphere that makes it a solid choice if you’re looking to hang out and soak in the Charleston nightlife. The music was upbeat, the crowd was lively, and the space had that casual party vibe that’s perfect for a weekend out. That said, service was really slow when we went—only one server seemed to be covering the whole floor, which definitely affected wait times. Didn’t try the drinks this time, but the menu looked good and reasonably priced for the area. Still giving it 4 stars because the overall vibe and ambiance delivered. Just hope they have more staff next time—this place deserves smoother service to match its scene.

The bar area was fun until the servers were instructed to take away all of the tables and chairs when the DJ started. A super young crowd filled the bar and invaded our space. We left earlier than planned but made the most of it with friends.

Drinks were fine - loved my beer. Pretzel bites were sitting in a pool of grease. Top ones were good, bottom ones drained fine on the napkins.

Love this place. The bartenders are friendly drinks are great and the atmosphere is on point. My only issue is the door guy who wants to frisk you down like it’s TSA. I jumped during a pat down due to being ticklish and he immediately kicked me out. Luckily, for me the guy who was checking, IDs was nice enough to understand and let me in. I get he’s doing his job but not everyone is a drunk asshole that comes through. If the brotha could read the room I wouldn’t have left a one star view due to 1 employee.

came here with a few friends for what we expected to be a fun night out, but our experience was ruined by the security staff. We had stepped into the restroom for maybe two minutes when a security guard suddenly started pounding on the door as if we were doing something wrong, yelling and threatening to kick us out. There was absolutely no reason for that kind of aggression. We hadn’t caused any trouble and were just using the restroom like normal customers. The entire situation was embarrassing, uncomfortable, and completely unnecessary. Management seriously needs to review how their security team treats guests — no one should be made to feel harassed or intimidated for simply using the facilities.
Tatum M — Google review
The staff were very kind and got us seated quickly. I really liked the shareable cocktails. The food is standard American fare. I enjoyed the chicken dip and the trifle fries. They had live music that night which was really fun. Overall a great spot for hanging with friends and just enjoying sitting down while checking out Charleston.

5 stars all around for this cocktail bar. The service was incredible, the drinks were very well made- every cocktail we tried was delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy. We also had the bread pudding and it was AMAZING. I want to echo again the service, everyone was so friendly and accommodating - has a neighborhood cocktail bar feel. We had the pleasure of meeting Adam, one of the owners, he was very friendly and welcoming- and even said goodbye to us by name! I would highly recommend this place. We cannot wait to go back!

Best cocktails I HAVE EVER HAD. And I’m a craft cocktail snob/fanatic. When this drink hit the bar yesterday(the Fortune Teller) and I took my first sip, I must have looked like I was having a medical crisis. Nope. The drink was just that good. They prepare these with the same amount of care, finesse, and attention to detail as an Iron Chef prepare’s a meal. I can’t say enough good things.

Love the concept of this place. My friend and I were looking for a place to get cocktails and she found this place. Wonderful creative drinks! My friend tried a new drink and loved it. I had my old standby drink and loved it. We followed up with bread pudding - so delicious! The ambience was wonderful with dark moody walls. Loved it.

Do I remember what this was? No I don't. But I remember the sweet tang that hits the palate with a sour note initially, followed by a citrus refresher that cools your sensations like a cold lemonade on a hot southern day. AMAZING! Unlike any cocktail I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Try them all and start your night here! Cheers

Nestled in the charming area of Mount Pleasant, SAVI Cucina + Wine Bar is a delightful destination for wine enthusiasts and food lovers alike. This full-service restaurant offers a unique coastal Italian dining experience, featuring house-made pasta and expertly crafted cocktails. The impressive wine program is curated by an exceptional team, including co-owner Ty Raju and beverage director Emerson Ewald, who brings years of sommelier expertise from prestigious establishments in New York City.
My family and I had dinner at SAVI last night and everything was amazing! This was our first time dining at SAVI but will definitely not be our last. The food was fresh and everything we had was delicious. Service was quick and friendly. I highly recommend SAVI if you are looking for really good Italian food. The only bad part of our dinner was a table behind us that had 8 older people that clearly had a bit too much wine and they were being so loud we couldn't have a decent conversation between us.

We came in for the wine pairing and 5 course menu featuring Chef Derrick Wade. I just have to say that every single component on every single plate blew us away. No details were spared. Amazing flavor combinations, textures, and presentation all while keeping an elevated yet classic menu approach. We could not stop talking about how great the food was. Wonderful experience and very enjoyable night out.

Wonderful experience here. Stopped in Mid-afternoon for late lunch. We sat at bar and were served by the lovely Ainsley. She was very welcoming and knowledgeable. She made great suggestions which allowed us to try new things. The bolognase was a surprise, (home made)and the Mediterranean pizza very unique - Rich base sauce, not overly topped so all the ingredients made for a wonderful meal. Although only visiting the area, we would certainly return to this restaurant if passing through again.

I see why this restaurant receives every award there is. It is soooo good!! First let’s start with the service. We were a party of 10 which is no easy job for any server but Eric was great. So friendly and welcoming. He got our drinks quickly and then really paced our dinner so we weren’t rushed. Great job!! Eric made our visit very enjoyable! Food!!!! 5 stars. I was able to sample the calamari, fries, meatballs and whipped ricotta! Prepared to perfection. Seasoned perfectly and the meatballs were so tender! I loved how they were served in a hot cast iron pan with sauce and cheese. Small pice of focaccia bread! Yum! The whipped ricotta was divine! Sweet and creamy. Bread was salty. Just amazing. I had the fungi parpadelle pasta. The flavors were indescribable. Just go try it! I tasted the orriachetta pasta dish. Wow! Everything was perfectly seasoned. Portion size too was large. I could have shared. This will be my new go to place for pasta! They have a great happy hour too! Ambiance was amazing! I apologize if I spelled the pasta incorrectly. Can’t wait to go back

Food met the standard. Nothing was mind blowing. Steak was extremely over cooked but he did not send it back. I think he was with company he wasn’t as comfortable with so didn’t want to seem like a complainer. Fish was fine! The skin made it a little more fishy than I prefer for a branzino dish. Calamari was a tiny portion for $16. Our server met the standard, but wasn’t friendly or interested. Everything here meets standard but doesn’t go above and beyond. Checked the boxes and I would return for happy hour!

Our server was Miles and he was great! We only had cocktails. The views from here are fantastic and you can catch the sunset. My only recommendation is fans outside because my goodness it can get hot. We eventually moved inside to get some air and continued to try a few different cocktails.

Great roof top bar and tapas place in charlston. We didnt get any food but the drinks were great and they had a decent amount of options. The bar has about a 220 degree view of south charlston and has some very comfortable seating. You need to check in at the lobby and get an elevator pass. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommend if your looking for a more upscale rooftop bar.

The Dewberry Charleston's rooftop Citrus Club is stunning, and I am totally obsessed with this place. I recently visited with my boyfriend + some friends of ours while in Charleston, SC and we had the absolute best experience!! Our waitress was so sweet - she was attentive, kind, and took excellent care of us during our visit. The atmosphere inside of the Citrus Club is so chic and luxurious, but their outdoor rooftop space is the reason you must visit. There are perfect views of Charleston's incredible architecture from every single angle of their rooftop (as pictured in this review). You are at the best spot in the house, regardless of where your table is located. For cocktails, I highly recommend their Spicy Margarita. Regarding their food menu, their Grilled Seasonal Vegetables and Hamachi Tataki are both excellent! :-) We will be back, Citrus Club - thanks for the hospitality!
Kristen M — Google review
Came here because it was close to our hotel and we wanted to check out a rooftop bar before going to dinner on Kings street. This bar the rooftop of the Dewberry hotel. The decor is chic and airy pastel. Compared to other rooftops closer to the waterfront, the view is unobstructed and doesn't have much you are looking out to, but you do get a nice breeze which was welcomed when it was 80 degrees out. They serve seasonal cocktails. We ordered the Pineapple Jerk Old Fashion which had a little heat to it, and the "Tennis Anyone?" made with lime vodka and salted honeydew. For food we wanted to stay on the lighter side and ordered the Wood Roasted Mushrooms and the Masala chicken wings. The mushrooms were just okay. They were served like a tartare which you eat with a lettuce cup. The masala chicken wings were tasty and well seasoned. Nice spot for a drink when the weather is nice and you want to get away from the touristy downtown scene. Drinks are on the pricier side compared to other Charleston spots.
Liz K — Google review
Beautiful rooftop. We waited in the hotel lobby bar, which was also lovely. Drinks were slightly overpriced in our opinion. I think we got the short straw regarding seating because the couch and the wicker chairs were quite uncomfortable.
Ben C — Google review
As far as a rooftop views go, this is definitely one of the best in the area. I'm not sure there's a bad seat in the entire area. The food and the drinks looked amazing, but they were average. The brussel sprouts were very good but it was almost too much food (for an appetizer) for just two people. And the hummus was good but we didn't light the grilled vegetables along with it. So many great photo ops! There also was a variety of seating arrangements to please about any amount of people/parties. I think if the drinks were better we might have had more than one. But I can't say enough about how amazing the view was!

**Exceptional Experience at The Citrus Club!** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Citrus Club exceeded all expectations! The food was absolutely delicious—each dish was crafted with perfection and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere was nothing short of amazing, creating the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. But what truly set this place apart was the breathtaking ambiance. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a sophisticated night out, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Vintage Lounge is a swanky wine bar that opened in December 2017 and has been recognized as the most beautifully designed bar in South Carolina by Architectural Digest. The bar features a historic and Parisian-romantic ambiance with its original barrel ceiling and faded gold-leaf design. It offers an extensive selection of wines, including orange wines, Normandy cider, sparkling wines, and various European options.
Very nice place for an evening cocktail. Our bartender was pleasant and eager to share recommendations and was proud of his art. They also have an extensive wine list.

Service was nice, quick because it was empty on a Monday. Said they’re more known for cocktails but there was a few twists on the classics, nothing too innovative or unique. I don’t quite get the architectural digest award because it was a very typical cocktail bar decor inside, minimalist almost. Tried the blind wine taste which was a fun gamble for a free glass. Wine was delicious and even guessing it wrong was still a $2-4 discount.

I’ve never had a good experience here. Came here tonight begrudgingly because my friends were here and not a single drink was correct. Specifically asked for a sparkling by the glass that was not champagne (because I didn’t want to pay $20 a glass) and was still served champagne. Then was told by the server I OK’d it because she showed me the bottle from afar and I said that’s good… my bad for assuming she knows what champagne is. My friends drinks took 25 mins and were still wrong. Owner came over to try and fix it but we had already paid, so he did nothing. Would not recommend

This is long overdue, but my husband and I love this place so much we’ll just drop in when we’re in the area to say hello to Nathan!! The first time I went there I loved the vibes. It has a very intimate setting with impeccable style and then if you want to stay even later through the night-they know how to keep up with the rest of upper King Street in a tasteful way ;) Honestly hope one day they’ll move to Broad St or somewhere south of Calhoun because I think they’re too good for that area! Their charcuterie boards are amazing, wine is divine, cocktails spot on and I think their fun Porróns is their specialty. Their staff is so kind and we’ve developed great friendships with some who used to work their. Can’t count how many birthdays we’ve celebrated their, business vendor parties, sporting events (definitely visit during the Kentucky Derby for a bougie time!) We loved The Brick!!! The drink named The Rail is Awesome. It's like a Long Island Tea, but better and stronger. They call it the redneck cousin of the Long Island Tea. We had one before we went on a trolley tour of Charleston. We had a couple when we got back along with Wings that are probably the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is great. I wish I could remember the bartenders name. She made wonderful drinks and was so very nice.

While I was in South Carolina, for my grandson's graduation. During my visit we took a beautiful trolley ride in downtown Charleston. When we were finished with the trolley we were hungry so the brick was very close to where we were. And I have to say their food was totally amazing! Their drinks for fantastic! Is there appetizers or off the chain! We had mozzarella sticks and fried green tomatoes they were so good. I actually do not remember the name of the dishes that we have that they were fantastic! The waitress was super nice. And the signs on the bathroom walls will crack you up! I recommend this restaurant 1000%! Very cozy atmosphere! Photos I posted was from the women's room. There were more signs they're super funny!

🌮 We’re locals and visit Max One often — the atmosphere is always casual and welcoming, and it’s usually a reliable go-to. On this visit, the place was pretty quiet, which made the experience a bit surprising. We ordered nachos, tacos, and a salad. The nachos looked great when they arrived but unfortunately were cold and barely had any cheese — just didn’t hit the mark this time. My kids love their tacos (just beef and cheese), and those were solid as usual. My salad, though, was completely forgotten and didn’t arrive until the very end of the meal. It was a simple salad with no protein, so it could’ve come out quickly. Service was also lacking a bit — my drink was never refilled, and I wasn’t even asked about it. That said, we know this spot can be hit or miss depending on the day, and we’ll definitely be back because options are limited on the island and it’s close to home. Hoping for a better experience next time — Max One has potential when everything is on point! I was looking at this place a couple of years ago when we were on Sullivans Island and I’m glad we finally tried it. You have to try the Short rib taco, it came with pickled onions salsa verde and puréed carrots, which I had on the side. Wow it was good. I also had the Carne Asada taco With the chipotle mayo. Normally, I can’t stand chipotle but this was OK. The restaurant had a beachy Mexico vibe. The people were very nice and the food was so delicious. I just don’t think my words will do it justice. You would be mistaken not to try this place.

Come stop in and see these wonderful bartenders at the Charleston sports pub in Mt. Pleasant!!!

The Pub in Mt P is my home away from home. The food is always on point but it’s the staff that is truly unbelievable. Service is unmatched and personalities are amazing. Sometimes I go there just to say hi, they are that unbelievable. Shout out to Kensley, Keisha, Sumer, Ashley, Becky, and Kyle. They are always wonderful and welcoming. I consider them not only friends but family, that’s how great they are. I highly recommend, and I would go just for them alone.

The Cocktail Club, located on upper King Street in Charleston, is a stylish speakeasy-style bar that specializes in craft cocktails. Housed in a historic building from the 1880s, this swanky lounge offers a rustic ambiance with leather couches, fireplaces, and salvaged doors. The rooftop terrace features a custom garden and provides stunning views for a night out.
This was the fourth and final stop on our DIY Cocktail Crawl. 🥂 Did we save the best for last? Perhaps! The atmosphere was very eclectic and unique. You walk upstairs and get a warehouse feel/older mid-construction. There are walls sectioning everything off, but just the bones, not the wall. Low lights and different styles of furniture further set the mood. There's also an outdoor patio that must be reserved for special events because it was kind of hidden and vacant. 🍹I had the Certified Loverboy. I'm not a fan of Mezcal though, so they swapped out tequila. It was so good!!! The passionfruit paired with the dill was doing it for me!!! 100% get again. 🍹 Hubby had The Stay at Home Dad and seemed to enjoy it. I'd definitely hit this place up for Happy Hour! Drinks were in the $15 range.
Elizabeth ( — Google review
The vibe of this location is great. Mood lighting, leather seats and couches. They have a rooftop patio as well but it was too crowded to go up there. It takes quite some time to get drinks as there is only one bar and though they appeared to have 3-4 bartenders only 1 was really making drinks. The drinks themselves were just average. I definitely like the vibe more than the drinks. Not sure I would return on the future, just an average bar.
Alex P — Google review
Really cool spot with one of the best 'regular' Old Fashions I've ever had. I did have to specify that I wanted a big ice cube which seemed a bit odd, but they were accommodating. The lounge area is cozy with exposed beams and brick, plenty of comfortable seating options. Try to get there early, live music was set to start at 10pm and the place was filling up. It was pricey, but that's downtown Charleston.

Some friends and I were out for happy hour and decided to stop into cocktail club as their happy hour the-thurs runs 5-8. A great deal on the cocktails. We hung out at the bar with several employees behind it and only a few other patrons in the bar for about 10 minutes before a word was said to us. We received our tabs after getting it drinks to find we were charged full price during happy hour. We told the bartender who ran down stairs to check the sign and returned telling us his manager said HH was only until 7. It was advertised as 5-8 on both the chalkboard inside their establishment when you enter and on their website. On top of it I found that the bartender increased the tip I left on my credit card this morning. It is sad that establishments aren't honoring their own promotions! Will avoid it in the future and certainly won't recommend it. There are better cocktails available for $15 a pop!

Very cute spot!! Drinks are good. Our waitress was great. Super chill but attentive. This place is great to come have drinks in a laid back atmosphere. They also have a patio area too which is very cool. Definitely will be back again!

I always love cocktail club, the drinks, the atmosphere, the vibes are amazing. Definitely best music at a bar in downtown. Creston was awesome, he made sure all my girls were safe and having a great time. Would definitely recommend this place if you are visiting for the weekend or a local.

Could be so great. Really nice vibe and good music. Cocktails are a 3/10 and unfortunately the restaurant billed us for many drinks that we either sent back because they were incorrect, or didn't ever order in the first place. No response to phone call or email to discuss, and unfortunately resulted in a credit card dispute after trying all other options.

We stopped in for happy hour, but turns out they didn’t have one? It’s advertised on their website and the board leading up to the bar, but they told us they didn’t have one. Drinks were good and there is definitely more of a laid back vibe here.

The outdoor pool area offers a breezy and sunny atmosphere, with a wraparound bar and classic Hollywood-meets-Miami vibes. The cocktail menu features refreshing options like the Turndown Service and playful frozen cocktails such as the Green Light.
Really cute vibe! Great drinks, great bartenders, very cool ambiance. Good music, cute place to take photos. Very retro and Miami-esq type bar. We really enjoyed ourselves! Great photo op place for bachelorette parties or girls trip. Excellent cocktails and a nice selection of non-alcoholic beverages as well.

I stopped in for lunch and everything from start to finish was amazing. Our server, Miranda, was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The drinks from the bar were top-notch — Jacob really knows his craft; every cocktail was perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. After lunch, we popped into the little coffee shop downstairs, and Adaliz made us the most delicious hot cocoa — the perfect sweet touch to end our visit. The atmosphere, service, and overall vibe at The Little Palm make it an absolute must-visit in downtown Charleston. Can’t wait to come back!

We had such a wonderful experience at Little Palm! We Ubered straight here with all of our luggage for breakfast after checking out of our Airbnb before our flight. We were immediately greeted by the valet Clayton who went above and beyond! He offered to store all of our bags inside the hotel at no charge simply because we were dining there. That gesture alone set the tone for the incredible service we received. Our server was new, but you never would’ve known..she was amazing! Super attentive and kind. There’s also a coffee bar downstairs, and a worker even went down personally to grab our custom coffee orders and brought them up to us, which was such a nice touch. I ordered the chicken and waffles and WOW..they were phenomenal. Every bite was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Honestly, every single staff member we interacted with was welcoming, helpful, and clearly cared about making our experience special. The atmosphere is just as great as the food..it’s Instagrammable, stylish, and absolutely lived up to the hype. 10/10 experience. I would 100% come back and recommend Little Palm to anyone visiting!

Step into The Commodore, a distinctive bar that exudes a vintage vibe with its classic jazz and funk sets, DJ sessions, and a lively dance floor. Located in Greenville's West End, this cozy spot offers amazing live performances by local and regional bands. The decor is funky and eclectic, featuring velvet curtains, mirrors, and dark corners that add to the retro atmosphere.
It’s a lively and relaxing place to hear live music. We went on a less busy day and hung out by the bar. Drinks are well made and reasonably priced. Small dance floor available if you don’t want to just sit around. Everyone we met that night was friendly.

There was a DJ x Saxophone duo jamming when we got there before the band started. Cover was $15 on a Saturday night. The dancing was fun. Only note is that the smoke / fog machines were so potent you could taste it? It was a lot But overall great vibe at this spot.

We had the absolute pleasure of seeing Rae perform at The Commodore, and I can’t recommend her enough. Her talent is simply unmatched—she has a voice that stops you in your tracks. We first heard her sing at our wedding, where she brought the house down with her stunning vocals and heartfelt performance. It was unforgettable. Seeing her again at The Commodore, this time with her band, was just as incredible. The vibe was electric—she effortlessly blended soulful ballads with upbeat crowd-pleasers, and the entire audience was captivated. If you see Rae’s name on the lineup at The Commodore, do yourself a favor and go. She’s the real deal, and this venue brings out the best singers for live performances. An absolute must!

I took my wife out for a midweek date night to The Commodore. It's a cool, quaint spot downtown that you have to go and check out. Parking is either on the street (if you can find a spot). Or you can park on the grass across from the front entrance. Walking inside, we really loved the aesthetics. They just had the right vibes all around. We had a few drinks of which I can't remember the names. But I'll be sure to update you once I find out. Unfortunately, they don't serve food. So make sure you get a bite to eat prior to coming in. The highlight was the band, The Living Daylights. They were soulful and groovy baby! They had a reggae/hip hop/neo soul type feel throughout the night. We definitely gotta catch them again.

A super fun venue a little ways from downtown. Decided to come here for their Funktastic night. A bit bummed the outdoor space was closed but there is a back bar to hang in if you need a little air. It was super fun getting to dance with great music being played. It did get a little too “woo woo” girl populated after a while. And security had their hands full trying to prevent them from getting on stage. I’ve also never paid $9 for a white claw in my life! Even still, a fun night here!

Faculty Lounge is a laid-back cocktail lounge run by the husband-wife team Nayda Freire and Erik Hutson. It was originally a 1970s-era hangout for local teachers, hence the name. The bar offers beer specials, tap wine, and bar snacks, as well as dance nights. The space is characterized by green benches, low ceilings, disco balls, pool tables, worn leather sofas, and colorful holiday lights.
Aight so I went here cause a friend told me about it. I ain’t never been to a speakeasy type place before, they blew my mind yo!!! Just pressing the button to get in was fun and then I saw the liquor selection here is literally a mile long. The bartender Nate, British dude, mad cool!! He set me up w a drink called the geezer!!! Kinda like an old fashion but add some extra fashion!!! 10/10 do recommend!
Mike H — Google review
A better speakeasy here in Charleston. The atmosphere here on an afternoon is exceptionally relaxing with the low-light ambiance to it and chill music playing. The place is pretty clean, and the drinks are a fair price for Charleston. They do not skimp on the alcohol here, and they do have a wide variety of liquors, beers, and wines. It does look like a hole-in-the-wall place from the outside, but once you step inside, you'll find yourself in a great, calm, speakeasy environment. Just remember that you have to ring the doorbell to get in.

Gorge was possibly the greatest host I’ve had At a bar. We mentioned it was our first time and he generously gifted us a shot that was absolutely wonderful. Each drink is so layered and personable that I feel like I’m tasting a story. Making this my weekly regular, even if just for Gorge’s superb company. What an incredible team and gem of a speakeasy. I understand what’s it’s like to really taste liquor instead of just consume. Amazing!!!

Jorge was the most personable and knowledgeable bartender I have ever experienced. After I said I liked tequila he led me to a cocktail called Avo Tosta which was, hands down, the most phenomenal liquid luxury I have ever experienced. Speakeasy vibe w high clad drinks and atmosphere.

I’ve never been so disrespected by the bar tenders in my life. Walked in with a group of 20 people and sat at the bar- asked the bar tenders for a beer and was told “I don’t serve people who look like you”. Half the party left but we asked “why”- and he said “I don’t like they way yall look- you look entitled”. At that point, we walked down the the street to Moe’s tavern down the street and had a blast. Hindsight, it was great the sketchy bartenders were so rude because we found a better bar. Apparently this place has a very bad local rep for all kind of issues with customers per locals. Beware!
Will — Google review
Bartenders were nice and atmosphere was good but nothing special , went on a Saturday night. one bartender was visibly altered got the drink wrong (ordered vodka soda and got a tequila shot) then he tried fixing it replacing for tequila soda and the other one bartender was kind enough to replace it to what we ordered. Next day upon checking my statement i realized that they have charged me additional $40 bucks (besides the check i have signed) for no reason. I’m going to call them today to reimburse me but that shouldn’t have happened. Luckily i check my statements. Update: their phone number on google is not in service. I messaged them on Facebook and nothing. I either will have to go back there in person or call the bank to dispute the transaction. Ridiculous

CAVALETTA CAFE!!! If you go here for any reason it should be this drink!! mattey was a fantastic bartender and made me and my partner feel welcomed! She got “the sacrifice” cocktail and says she’d get it every time! The vibe was chill and niche, the music was perfect. They even had 2 tvs one with classic old movies and one with 24/7 anime, apparently they do something different everyday! Ju

This place is awesome! They took an old house and turned it into a killer beer bar/shop. The bartender was cool and helpful. The draft selection is limited (7 beers), however they have a ton of canned/bottles beers which you can consume onsite. I can't recommend this place enough.

Beers are great. Chill and homey environment. The girl behind the bar was so rude. Wouldn’t give any recommendations, even though we asked several times. We couldn’t figure out why it was so hard for her to be nice. Friends have said the same thing and have stopped coming for this reason. The owner is super welcoming so it’s a shame she’s a problem with clients. Beer is great though.

Went there on my last day of vacation. If you're looking for a low-key, relaxed place to have a couple beers, this is the place to go. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of all the beers they carry, and were able to recommend a couple that were amazing. Tons of outdoor seating available. They also had several recommendations for local restaurants, one of which ended up being the best meal we had during our stay. I would highly recommend to everyone to stop by!

Love this place! Amazing beer selection and always multiple awesome flavors on tap. Staff is super knowledgeable and helpful when searching for a new taste. Beer was great, the guy behind the bar (owner I think) was very nice and helpful. The problem was the "locals"... Anything but friendly, they were like a junior high clique. Could be a great place if the local we're not so juvenile and unwelcoming.

This is my favorite beer bar in Charleston. The beers on tap are always unique and adventurous, and the selection on the shelves is always impressive. It's the laid-back atmosphere that really sells this place, for me, and is a must-see for visitors coming into town for the beaches.
Addison H — Google review
I am not a big beer Enthusiast but will say this is a fantastic experience. They have every beer you could ever think of. It's pretty cool; it seems like it's an old house in Old Village that's been turned into a bar. The entire house is filled with rooms of beer. The staff and the patrons will go out of their way to help you make a selection if you're not sure what you want to drink. There's an awesome outdoor seating area with tons of tables and space. Sometimes they have food trucks that come through so you can buy food while you're drinking. People bring their dogs and let them run around and play in the fenced-in area in the back. Really cool environment if you're looking to be social with all kinds of people. Their prices are extremely reasonable. It's a very different experience from any bar I've ever been to or Brewery type location. A very welcoming environment that I suggest for any age range (21 and older) and any level of Beer Drinker. This place is definitely in Mount Pleasant treasurer that's unique from anything else around here.

The Archer in Charleston offers an amazing dining experience with thoughtful cocktails, flavorful food, and impeccable service. The restaurant's warm and casual hunting lodge decor adds to the inviting atmosphere. The menu features a delightful mix of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients crafted into innovative and delicious dishes. From starters like Spicy Shrimp and Crab dip to entrees such as Wreckfish and Duck Frites, every dish showcases the chef's bold use of flavors.
We really enjoyed this meal. Our least favorite thing we had was probably the fried eggplant but it was still delicious and if served somewhere else probably would have been top of our list. We loved the okra dish… can’t spell it. LOVED the short rib 😍😍 my espresso martini and goat cheese gin drink were both amazing! Great service! Would come back if we were ever in Charleston again.

The Archer offers a creative and delicious dining experience that blends Southern cuisine with Asian and other unexpected global influences. Each dish is thoughtfully composed, with bold flavors playing a supporting role rather than overpowering. The atmosphere is lively and fun—though on the louder side—making it a great spot for a vibrant night out but challenging to engage in a conversation. A well-curated wine list rounds out the experience. Hospitable staff. A standout to Charleston’s dining scene, we would go again.

We love The Archer! Been here 3 times now and we leave utterly satisfied and impressed every single time. I’m a craft cocktail fanatic AND foodie. Both are incredible. The drinks are seriously amazing. Creative, fresh and never too sweet. Their burger is to die for- we get no bun and a side of mashed instead of fries. The tuna tartare, and yellow watermelon was a highlight. Also shown is beef tartare, pork belly, and the lightly fried eggplant with airy whipped ricotta. Servers are quick, skilled, and attentive. Can’t wait to go back, this place does not disappoint

We had a larger group reservation at Archer on Wednesday and I can not say enough about the service and vibe of the restaurant. Our server Kendall was warm and even willing to break down our bill individually, I know this can be an inconvenience so was so pleased. The restaurant is trendy and cozy with free parking in the Meeting Street Lofts parking garages - you scan a code in the restaurant. The drinks were lovely and every bite was yummy. The chef dropped of some of the meal and at the end of the night sent over a dessert. The Archer is everything you think of when you think of food and hospitality in Charleston. Warm, welcoming, casual yet elevated. It’s about the experience but also knowing that good food and drinks is the heart of it all. Highly recommend!!

Shem Creek, located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, is a vibrant hub offering various activities for visitors. Historically a shrimping village, it has evolved into a lively area with waterfront dining, paddle boarding, and stunning sunsets. Renting kayaks is a popular way to explore the creek and its surroundings. The area also boasts an eclectic collection of restaurants, shops, and a marsh walk that make for great photo opportunities.
Beautiful sunset view over the water, great restaurants, great atmosphere, tons of parking (but you have to pay for it … lame). Love to go here and just hang out!
Cassie K — Google review
Love Shem creek. It has a fabulous walkway through the marsh and out to the ocean. Watch dolphins and beautiful wildlife. Magical
Darcy R — Google review
Shem Creek is hands‑down one of my favorite spots in the Lowcountry! That’s saying something in a place packed with postcard views. Whether you’re a first‑timer or a regular, there’s always something new to see, shoot, or taste out here. The minute you step onto the wooden boardwalks and look down the creek toward Charleston Harbor, you’ll understand why Hollywood keeps sneaking back. (Fun fact: several scenes from Outer Banks were filmed right here—so if the view feels familiar, that’s why) Shrimp trawlers drift by with brown pelicans riding shotgun, marsh grasses glow gold at sunset, and dolphins pop up often enough that locals barely flinch anymore. Bring binoculars if you’re into wildlife; bring a big memory card if you’re into photography. I come back all the time and still fill up SD cards by the end of the golden hour. As a photographer, I love how the light bounces off the water and those weathered boats. Early mornings give you calm, glassy reflections; late afternoons paint the sky pink and orange behind the Ravenel Bridge. Even on cloudy days, the shrimp boats, crab traps, and tangled ropes make for moody maritime shots. There are elevated overlooks, hidden nooks on side docks, and plenty of spots to set up a tripod without blocking foot traffic. When the stomach growls, you’re spoiled for choice. Saltwater Cowboys is my go‑to for smoked wings and a rooftop view; Tavern & Table nails Lowcountry comfort with shrimp and grits that might ruin you for life; and Red’s Ice House keeps it casual with cold beer, live music, and “boat‑watching” seats right on the creek. The best part? If you want to hop between appetizers at one place, mains at another, and sunset cocktails somewhere else, it’s all a few board‑planks apart. Not just a stroll‑and‑eat destination: outfitters rent kayaks and paddleboards if you want to slide past the shrimp fleet at water level (sunrise paddles are unreal). Charter boats run sunset cruises and inshore fishing trips, too. If you’re traveling with kids, there’s enough boat traffic, wildlife, and ice‑cream‑within‑500‑feet to keep them happy for hours. Parking is free but fills fast on weekends—aim for before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. if you want an easy spot. The boardwalk is stroller‑ and wheelchair‑friendly, with plenty of benches and shade trellises to cool off in summer. Bug spray never hurts at dusk (marsh life, y’all), and a light jacket is smart once that harbor breeze kicks in. Shem Creek nails the trifecta: unbeatable Lowcountry scenery, top‑notch seafood, and enough photo ops to keep any camera junkie buzzing. I’ve visited more times than I can count, and every trip still hands me something Instagram hasn’t seen yet. If you’re anywhere near Charleston—or just binge‑watched Outer Banks and want to walk the set—make Shem Creek your next stop. Five stars, every time.
Jordan P — Google review
Shem Creek is such a gem in the Charleston area! The views are absolutely unbeatable – especially at sunset when the whole creek lights up with boats, water reflections, and that classic Lowcountry sky. The boardwalk is perfect for a walk, and we even spotted dolphins while we were there. Tons of great restaurants line the water, all with a fun, laid-back vibe and fresh seafood. Whether you’re grabbing a drink, going for a kayak ride, or just enjoying the view, this is one of those can’t-miss Charleston experiences.

AVOID THIS PLACE 7/11/2025 we were sent to Seahorse because Chubby Fish was booked. Ordered the flounder crudo which was $24 and the corn tortellini $26. My girlfriend ordered a drink which was also a very small portion!! The portion sizes are an absolute RIP OFF! The flounder crudo was such a small amount as well as the tortellini. It's flounder not TUNA! DO NOT go here for any of this nonsense! This place won't last long! Go next door to Chubby Fish. Fortunately, we got a seat at the bar at Chubby Fish to get some good honest portions!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND! There's no explanation that will make me feel any better about this place!!

Super hip cocktail bar right next to the very popular Chubby Fish. Super cozy interior and a great selection of large snacks and cocktail drinks. We got the cacio e pepe chips. They were messy but a great snack! Amazing service as well! Highly recommend whether you’re going to Chubby Fish or not.

Stopped by around 5:15 on a Thursday for a drink. We were immediately seated at the bar and greeted by the bartender. The decoration in the bar area was really cool. Decent selection of liquor and cocktails. My girlfriend got the Lychee Cosmopolitan and I got the Boulevardier Pinya and they were both excellent. Service was excellent as well. They had some food up on their menu board that looked good but we had dinner reservations somewhere else so we didn't get any. Definitely planning on returning to try some of their food.

Love Seahorse for excellent craft cocktails and small bites. Cozy space with a great vibe. Being part of Chubby Fish it's a no brainer that it's going to be tops! Great starting point for a night out in beautiful Charleston!

Fleet Landing Restaurant & Bar is a sleek spot offering classic and contemporary Southern seafood fare in Charleston. Housed in a 1940s retired naval building, the restaurant celebrates the area's waterfront heritage with stunning views of Charleston Harbor. The menu features crowd-pleasers like shrimp and lobster-stuffed hushpuppies, and the restaurant is committed to sustainable seafood practices.
Went with hubby on a Monday for lunch. We had a reservation, but had to wait a wee bit for the table to be ready. We were seated outside and it was a glorious day for it. Tripp, our server, was awesome. He was attentive and prompt with answering questions, refilling water glasses and checking on us. For our starters we had the fried steak calamari and the snow crab claws and, omigosh, they were scrumptious!!!! For entrée, my hubby had the salmon with Carolina red rice and coleslaw while I had the catch of the day, Mahi with Carolina red rice and collard greens. I did not even leave a grain of rice on my plate; the dish blew my taste buds away. I also had a painkiller cocktail with lunch. I'm so glad we went to Fleet Landing. Can't wait to go back next time I visit South Carolina 🤗

Mary was an awesome server. Patient, knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. The good was excellent. Gumbo, She Crab Soup, seafood pasta all very tasty. The old fashioned was flavorful and done right. Great oyster selection.

Why in charleston wanted to try indifferent seafood restaurant..so we landed on fleet landing. There was construction going on. So had to park and walk. And it was an eye sore. We get there. We were greeted right away. They have in door and out door seating. If the temperature permits...I suggest outdoor. Or at least near the windows. They have nice views. Right on the water. The service was nice. No complaints.. food was brought out pretty quick. And tasted good. Prices were roughly 20 to 30 pp...on average. For a entree... but overall. It was decent it was good. No real complaints. I definitely reccomend this spot of you a seafood lover.

She crab soup was delicious and a large portion for the price. Crab leg cocktail was good but it tasted like it was frozen, not fresh. Key lime pie was quite good. Service was good, not great, but they were also very busy. Still done with a smile and quite friendly.

My dad and I went here today for lunch and sat outside. Our server Andrew was great. He was on top of things and very polite and helpful, while also bringing his own personality to the service. He helped us pick out which varieties of raw oysters to get, all of which were great, and was very patient with my multitude of questions. I got the crab claw cocktail and my dad got the fried oyster platter, we both enjoyed our entrees immensely (the crab claw cocktail is not meant to be an entree but was just enough for me with the stuffed hushpuppies and oysters). I will say right now there’s construction happening next to the restaurant so be prepared for some of that noise if you choose to sit outside, but it didn’t take away from our experience at all.

Cannot speak highly enough about the staff of this restaurant! From the moment you walk in the hostess was incredibly kind and got us seated quickly at the Oyster bar! The three people running the bar were awesome all of them were great and wished us a happy anniversary! Highly recommend trying the tuna tartare and the key lime pie both are amazing!

Fleet Landing delivered an amazing waterfront dining experience! The seafood tower was fresh and impressive, perfect for sharing. The fried flounder basket was golden, crispy, and delicious. Great flavors, generous portions, and stunning harbor views with an appearance from dolphins!

Bridge
Sights & Landmarks
The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge is a stunning architectural marvel that gracefully spans the Cooper River, linking Downtown Charleston to Mount Pleasant. Completed in 2005, this iconic cable-stayed bridge replaced older structures and boasts one of the longest main spans in the Western Hemisphere at an impressive 471 meters. Its striking triangular arches are beautifully illuminated at night, creating a picturesque scene for evening strolls or bike rides along its dedicated lanes.
My wife and i decided to walk across the bridge early Friday morning. What a fun and enjoyable walk. The temperature was a little cool in the morning but once we got our heart rate up we were fine. We were greeted by pretty much everyone we came across with much friendliness.

Beautiful designed bridge that connects Charleston to Mt. Pleasant. There’s a walk path that goes the length of the bridge. Best part is no toll.

Brilliant design which stands out in the distance of the Charleston skyline. However, what makes this bridge really unique is the public footpath for walking, running and cycling. Well worth a jog over.

I once drove our public school bus across the old Cooper River bridge to deposit it in Mount Pleasant for the summer, from Summerville - I was in the 11th grade! Times have changed, and so has the bridge. Both are beautiful in their own way!
Pastor D — Google review
An interesting and beautiful walk. For much of it, because you don't see the piers and you sense some movement due to traffic, it feels like you are walking on a floating concrete path.

We got to see this bridge from The battery as we watched the sunrise. It’s in the distance but what a beautiful bridge

Great bridge walk, run, ride. Only entered from the north side. Lots of free parking underneath. Supposed to be walkers one one lane, bikes in other. Lots of people have problems with that concept.

The Rooftop at the Vendue, located in Charleston's Art Hotel, is a stylish rooftop bar known for its imaginative craft cocktails and light bites. Renowned for its expansive views of the Charleston Harbor and East Bay Street architecture, it's a favorite spot for locals to showcase the city's classic beauty and art community to visitors. The bar offers breathtaking panoramas of the Holy City, including views of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge.
I don’t know how many great rooftop bars there are in Charleston, but I can’t imagine many being better than this one!! Food is really delicious, service is prompt and friendly, and the views really are great. There are multiple outdoor bars, spots in the sun and the shade, indoor/outdoor portions with TVs, and the rooftop goes basically the length of the hotel so there is a view in every direction. And then on top of the great views, there is the fact that the food is delicious. Love this place!

We saw Nemo on King St and he told us to try out this rooftop bar. He was right. Great for sunset. Great drinks. Nemo was our server. He helped us pick out the best apps. Mac and cheese bites were money. We had such a good time that we brought our ghost tour group back afterwards. Luckily no haunting there…but we did hear about pirates. Anyways. Give the Rooftop a try and ask for Nemo.

Fun atmosphere with modern art pieces and a rooftop view of the south part of Charleston. You can sit under cover or in the open air. Not a large menu, but a variety of offerings, including Mediterranean, seafood, and vegetarian. Dana is delightful! We had great service and a good time talking with her. The Chocolate Temptation I is a wicked dark chocolate dessert. We spent over $20 a person, but that’s because we needed to try several things

We hit this rooftop bar for sunset and it did not disappoint! The hotel (Vendu) is modern, eclectic, and weird (why are the bathrooms RED?), but the bar is open and pleasant. Our bartender, Tim, was friendly, engaging, and tolerant of my goofy questions. And he makes an excellent Negroni!

This was my first stop in Charleston. The food was decent—the steak was cooked to the requested temperature but had a fairly simple flavor profile. The “Hey Honey!” mocktail was a standout, well-balanced and refreshing. The cheesecake, however, was underwhelming—overly sweet and lacking in depth. Unfortunately, despite being a rooftop restaurant and bar, the view was quite limited. It appeared that there may have been a higher level—possibly with a better vantage point—but it was closed during my visit. I’d recommend checking whether that upper level is open, as it might offer a more worthwhile rooftop experience. The highlight of my visit was Dana, my server. As it was my first time in Charleston, her attentive service and generous local insight made a real difference. She went above and beyond, helping me plan the rest of my trip with her thoughtful recommendations.

We came in around noon for a light lunch and some cocktails on the rooftop. We were immediately greeted by Dana with a huge smile. While we were sitting we watched Dana single handily take care of so many tables. She was super attentive and friendly. Even though it was extremely busy with just one server our food came out fast and our drinks were never empty. The food and drinks were delicious. The weather and the view were perfect. We would for sure recommend this restaurant and hope to have Dana again!

The Blind Tiger Pub, located on Broad Street in Charleston, is an upscale alehouse with a rich history dating back to 1803. This charming establishment boasts two indoor bars and a historic outdoor patio with brick walls. The pub offers a delightful selection of beer and serves up solid bar food, including the popular bacon and blue burger and fried pickles.
We first heard about this place from our haunted tour and then our other guide also recommended it so we decided to come. So glad we did! Went in for dinner and were sat immediately and food came out quickly as well! Charbroiled oysters and the pub burger were amazing! The garlic parm fries were crazy good too. This place is great for a casual relaxed dinner.

The food was delicious and came out fast but maybe too fast. I know you want to flip tables quick but the family and I did feel a little rushed. The hostess seemed a bit gruff as well. Just not as friendly as she could have been.

Legendary, iconic place. We met a bartender, we drank with a chef together after he’s provided his masterpieces. Lord… I love this place! That was emotional part. Now you will have an objective. Perfect made food, great size of whiskey shots, friendly atmosphere and the best aftertaste! I highly recommend this place to make your life better!

A classic Charleston spot! Blind Tiger Pub is perfect for a martini on a fun night out or a casual bite. Keep an eye on their calendar for oyster roasts, they’re always such a good time. I’ve been here numerous times in the year and a half I’ve lived in Charleston, but I had to leave a review to rave about their Buffalo Loaded Tots. They’re unlike anything I’ve ever had. I’m a sucker for anything buffalo, and the blue cheese crumbles on top was the perfect touch. The portion was huge, but we still managed to clean the plate in minutes. I always recommend grabbing a seat at the first-come, first-serve bar or enjoying a drink out back on their porch. And if you go during the holidays, try something from their festive drink menu. I've loved everything I've tried!

The food was delicious and exactly what we needed for a great college football game day visiting Charleston. We got the Tuna Poke Nachos to split, which were delicious. For my meal, I got the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich with the parm-truffle fries and it was AMAZING but sandwich was a little messy. Also, our waitress was great and definitely was feeling our vibes!

The food was soooo good and our waitress was very nice. The wait for food was reasonable, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I got the shrimp and grits with a cider, and my friend got the French onion soup and pretzels with an espresso martini. More than $20 each, but I had seafood, and she had a mixed drink, so the prices were as expected.

Stars Rooftop & Grill Room is a charming American eatery located in Charleston's downtown dining and entertainment district. The rooftop bar provides an unparalleled 360-degree view of historic Charleston, making it the perfect spot to enjoy artisan wines, signature cocktails, and a variety of beers.
Where do I begin? To start off, this is a beautiful place from the outside to the inside. The food was extremely good and our server Dakota was even better. He was very knowledgeable and attentive and I couldn’t ask for anyone better. To top it off the nice lady unlocked the rooftop for us and allowed us to do a walk through of both the second and top floor. I highly recommend this place to anyone and my boyfriend and I will for sure be back ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The vibes are perfect. We strolled in with our infant for an early dinner and had the place almost to ourselves. Our server was friendly and helpful, which we needed after the car trip with a fussy babe. The burger was one of the best we’ve ever had, perfectly cooked and flavorful. Fries were hot, crispy and abundant. My burratta salad was a delicious spin on a classic with blood oranges and blackberries.

Was a bit disappointed with the food. Half of the duck breast was cooked perfectly and the other half was raw. When we mentioned it to the waiter he even mentioned that he noticed (then why did you serve it to us!). He spoke to the manager who did give us a discount but never came over to apologize or check on us. The grilled asparagus was delicious as were the truffle hash browns. The gouda Mac and cheese was good enough (nothing special, especially for the price and size). The shrimp and grits ate well separately but not as a composed dish. The tomato jam was way too sweet and felt like marinara sauce. The grits and shrimp separately were very good. But when I tried to put it all together it was way out of balance. All in all the food was good but not great and not worth the price. The service was ok but could have been so much better. Left disappointed.

We came here today for Mother's Day brunch, though they have this brunch every Saturday and Sunday! Great food, service, and atmosphere. Great value as well. Highly recommend the omlette station. The prime rib and lamb were excellent, and my wife enjoyed the bloody Mary bar. There are plenty of options for vegetarians and kids. Fresh fruit, cheeses, bagels, pastries and salad. We'll be back!

Just had Brunch there today and went with the breakfast buffet. Was it a bit expensive…yes. Was it 100% worth it…absolutely! Delicious and flavorful from beginning to end. Very nice atmosphere with stellar service. Top line early afternoon Bloody Mary. Brunch for 2, best to walk to this location as parking is always a challenge, great location with many interesting and unique shops, coffee bars etc. The atmosphere is definitely adult oriented so bringing young children would not be recommended. This is a place for adult dining
Rita W — Google review
Great place for a great dinner would definitely go again. Atmosphere: Really well done. The lights are stunning, and the entire place was simply done beautifully. They really tried to pay attention to details, including hooks for handbags under the bar which is hardly ever a thought! Really nice touch. Food: absolutely wonderful overall. The steak was beautifully cooked over the open flame which you can see. I spoke to the chef about it because I could taste the smoke and it was such a nice robust flavor profile. I added on the risotto, and while as a risotto it was missing the creamy texture and fullness, as a buttery rice my mouth and belly were still so happy. The fries are made in house and are absolutely fantastic. Don't skip out on those - I don't find a ton of fries that I really truly enjoy, these I did. While the salad was not enjoyed by who ordered it, the mussels were simply fantastic, and the sauce was absolutely raved about. Just a touch of heat to warm the pallette but not overwhelm. The manager made our drinks, and while they did not have fresh mint for a mojito, she made a cucumber cocktail that, while not a number one choice for me, was refreshing and light. I could have settled on it and drank it, but she brought me a disarono on the rocks type of drink that was served with a dark cherry of sorts and was really quite nice. The chocolate cake with nuts was a decadent choice and a true treat to eat. The staff was very kind, informative and helpful for our experience. The girl at front was new, her first day as luck would have it, and she did great too. The chef had no problem talking a bit and was quite charming. You can tell he is proud if his work. Something I don't mention often - bathrooms: the bathrooms here were done nice as well and were private and classy. Not a disaster as so many are. I appreciated the full doors.

Prohibition is a modern American restaurant in Charleston with a Jazz Age theme and creative cocktails. High Wire, the first distillery in downtown Charleston since Prohibition, stands out for its use of southern-grown grains and small-batch experimental spirits. The owners' culinary background emphasizes terroir and agriculture, earning them James Beard Award nominations. The vintage-inspired decor at Prohibition creates a speakeasy atmosphere, offering inventive cocktails and a dim sum dish that reflects Lowcountry flavors.

Old Fashioned has a suave peach twist and the Margarita Fuego was EXCELLENT: Blanco tequila, lime, Cointreau, chipotle, mango, and jalapeno - not too spicy and the mango to help curb the zip. This place is packed. We had to gravitate to the back patio bar. My main qualm was waiting over 10 minutes to order while sitting at the bar. Bachelorette parties standing over my shoulder kept getting the go ahead to order. I was about to leave had I been skipped over one more time. Also, with the name Prohibition I was expecting more 30's speakeasy aesthetics and decor... but it felt more like the stereotypical modern rustic craft cocktail bar. Not worth frequenting if that's your selling point in question. Overall, decent cocktails, some with a minor twist. The place seemed like it sponsored bachelorette parties with the amount of coordinated costumes & celebratory groups in there. Must be a prime spot to go out with your friends, not as much for an intimate outing.

This restaurant has a cool vibe and some rather yummy food. Stopped here for lunch and sat on there back patio which was very nice and chill. Got the deviled eggs, wings, and chopped cheese burger. The eggs were fantastic and highly recommend this. The wings were decent and the chopped cheese had some great flavors. The drink menu was good and had plenty of cool mixed options. The bartender made a nice expresso martini. Service was friendly, but slow, and hectic. We got our entree before our appetizer and the wings came with the check. Overall, id definitely recommend.

The atmosphere was very cool! But the drinks needed a little more. We found them not well balanced and had a hard time finishing them. We would’ve given a second round another chance but our waitress never came back to ask. She was wonderful but the bar needed more people working because the room wasn’t close to full or busy but she was constantly busy with different tasks. So her inattentiveness certainly was not on purpose at all. We felt bad for her. However after waiting for so long we did have to approach the bar and ask for our check. We wondered if we would have liked the second round better. The charcuterie board was truly divine! So for small bites and maybe a simple drink i do recommend it!

My friends and partner and I went to Prohibition this past Saturday. It was pouring rain so while parking across the street was the most desirable option- it WAS close and convenient. Upon entering the restaurant we were immediately greeted and told that there was only outdoor seating available unless we wanted to wait a little while so we opted for the patio. It was covered so that was good. The reason I gave a 4 star rating is because I thought the manager could have opted to turn on a couple heaters being that it was a bit chilly with it raining and the wind was blowing a bit. Luckily we had jackets so that helped. On to the dining experience- this place has several small plate options which I’m not always crazy about due to portion sizes but the items were ordered were sufficient and we were all able to share with each other. My partner got the tomato bisque soup w/ grilled cheese and while it’s such a simple option- it was perfect and exactly what she needed to warm her up a bit. The soup was creamy and rich and the grilled cheese was crust less and had a good cheese pull. My only complaint would be that the grilled cheese could have been a little bigger. I ordered the brussel sprouts which were great. They were nice and crispy and flavorful. One of my friends ordered the baked oysters- my issue with this dish is that it only came w/ 3 and they weren’t that big- also, I never understood why restaurants don’t do appetizers like that in even numbers. The oysters were cooked perfectly and tasted great and they had a good creaminess from the cheese. The MVP of the night was the bone marrow- I had never had it before and was very hesitant to try it…until I saw it. I tried it and it was amazing! So good in fact that we ordered a 2nd order. The bone marrow was like a rich butter and the meat (I think was brisket?) that topped it was amazing as well- it was sweet and savory. We had 3 old fashioned cocktails and an espresso martini w/ an added shot of baileys which was fantastic! We’ll be back again for sure!

First I must say, the chef is a gem. This kitchen put out a very fine lobster roll, which I enjoyed as an appetizer along with a short pour from the finest Pinot noir from Oregon. Next up, although hesitant at first, I ordered the filet mignon, this by the way was agreed upon by the bartender Trent Major. The filet was served rare with haricot verde’ and awesome potato scalloped. Very well paired with the reasonably priced bottle of Pinot. I would like to add a total recommendation of “100%” for attitude of both Trent, Maria and the entire staff. Life is short spend a little time at this local gem.

Second State Coffee is a popular choice among Charleston's creative community and young crowd, with three serene and charming locations in the city. The coffee bar boasts a minimalist-chic ambiance, offering hot and cold drinks, along with window-bar seating, communal tables, and WiFi. It stands out as the exclusive provider of authentic coffee from Kenya, Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Colombia in Charleston.
I spent Easter weekend in Charleston with my family and came to this shop every morning. It was a quick walk from our hotel, but also very close to the shops and a short walk to Market. The location is great, quiet part of town, you will not find it by walking the tourist areas. The staff was super friendly and welcoming each morning, and they made some create coffee! I got a version of a vanilla flat white each morning. Will definitely be back!

Atmosphere is wonderful and coffee was okay. The WA location coffee tastes slightly better but I’m also likely being overly picky! Unfortunately, the cinnamon roll we bought was completely stale and hard to the point of being inedible (and as someone who is not picky about baked goods, even stale ones, I mean this was truly inedible). Hopefully it was just a fluke but it was a bummer to realize after we left!

Food & Drink
Westbrook Brewing Company, located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, is a renowned craft brewery known for its widely recognizable beers and popular tours. The brewery's taproom offers a sleek and crowded space with rotating beers on tap, including the highly sought-after Mexican Cake imperial stout. This once-a-year release features hints of cacao, vanilla, and habanero peppers. Visitors can also enjoy the outdoor beer garden in the parking lot.
Great beer, the tap room is kind of small but we really enjoyed our flight of beers. Staff was super cool, would recommend this place for a beer and a relaxed setting!

I loved the beer here and can't wait for Key Lime Pi to come back out in March. The white Thai was really good, and I liked the beer to drink when it's hot outside. The actual taproom wasn't that big.

Love this spot. The rice crispy beer was my favorite
Sabine M — Google review
Absolutely loved this place! We came from Florence SC just to try it in person and were not disappointed. Got a flight and the maple bourbon beer, which pro tip from Katie at Westbrook, getting the full bourbon beer is $7, flight $15, but if you get a flight with an aged beer is $22, so you might as well get a flight and a full pour aged beer! My favorites were the banana shake IPA and the 4claw IPA. Spicy nachos also incredible, surprisingly a bit sour. Only downside was a closing time of 8pm on a Friday and closing at 6pm on Saturday

This is a little place which offers outdoor tables. The bartenders were not very attentive and the pregnant bartender was drinking beer behind the bar, which seems to be a normal at breweries. But shes pregnant and that made me want to drink fast and leave. I was not happy that the accessible parking was blocked off for tables. The key Lime gose was refreshing as was the 3 claw.
Amy T — Google review
Excellent beers on draft and to go, friendly & knowledgeable bartenders, and good atmosphere. Brandon and Katie were helpful and personable. Wish I could've had a tour, but they didn't have enough staff. Check out the cellar list for some blasts from the past.
David G — Google review
This place was, meh. I have been to many breweries and would probably never return here. The taproom was big, but did not have a lot of seating. The beer was pretty forgettable too. We were happy that they had patio seating, but it was also pretty limited. They had a line for orders, so that sped up the process a bit.
Katie K — Google review
Great beers. They’re edging pastry but it’s still solid beer. Quite the compound you’ll with their heavy distribution. My wife said their women’s restroom could use a touch up.

Great place to hang out with friends or meet new people and drink some great beer. Great crowd! Everyone is really nice. Fun events are always planned. Food trucks on site. Support small business and brewery

While visiting the area I stopped in to have a flight (or two). All of the beers were delightful and tasty. The have artwork of the labels of past beers on the walls and it was enjoyable to look at. It is dog-friendly, so was able to get some dog loving in as well. My travel partner is not a big beer drinker, so he was able to get a glass of wine. The bartender was pleasant, efficient and helpful when it came to knowledge and service. I would highly recommend stopping here.
Diana L — Google review
A great place for a beer! Dog friendly inside with outdoor seating as well. A good rotation of food trucks, as well as a few bar snacks. The beer is always good with good options for all tastes. Almost every time we come home to Mt. Pleasant, we stop for a round. Will be back next time!
Jackson B — Google review
In town for one night and stopped by for some drinks. Tried a flight of four; Helles, Dopplebock, Hefeweizen, and IPA. They were very good. I’m not really an IPA drinker but tried two more of the IPAs. They were very good and were not over the top hoppy. Staff was amazing!
Flight L — Google review
Visited several breweries while in Charleston and this was, BY FAR my favorite. Such a friendly vibe and one of the best Kolsch beers I’ve had. Super dog friendly inside, which is great during the summer.

My wife and I drove from Fort Mill, SC for a get away to Charleston. We work in a brewery and wanted to check out the brewery scene close to our condo and the first one we tried was Two Blokes. Immediately upon entry we are greeted by the bartender, Christina. I ordered the Striped Sweater and my wife ordered the Kiwi-8. Both were delicious! We both bought some neat merch. The artwork is really cool and the atmosphere was beyond our expectations. Superb service from Christina. She was very welcoming and attentive from beginning to end. A very sweet and laid back personality. Being new to the area, she recommended some of her favorite places and things to do. We checked those out as well. We had to come back to try the First Blood and Second Breakfast, also very delicious! Overall a great experience and a wonderful time. Thank you Christina! We’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful atmosphere. Fantastic and knowledgeable beer tenders. Lovely selection of beers - diverse but balanced. I love brewery hopping, and they remind me of my favorite place at home. The beer tender, Jenny, was so sweet.
Heather H — Google review
Time for dinner and since Two Blokes did not have a food truck on tonight's schedule, I stopped at Harris Teeter's salad bar and brought a "salad." Friendly welcome and I found a bench against the wall with a power outlet. Two beers, my salad and a bunch of wifi were my entertainment this evening. It's a comfortable space, the beers were good. I had the Umlaut Kolsch with dinner and tried the First Blood Hefeweizen that was too much orange for my taste so I went back to the Umlaut. It's in an industrial plaza and because they don't serve food, they're usually tolerant of dogs. There are also some picnic tables outside.

If you're looking for a laid-back spot to enjoy Southern comfort food and a great selection of beers, look no further than Charleston Sports Pub. This casual hangout is perfect for families and pet owners alike, featuring outdoor seating and an inviting atmosphere. With arcade games, karaoke nights, and trivia challenges, there's never a dull moment here! The walls are adorned with sports memorabilia, making it an ideal place to catch the big game on one of their many TVs.
Amazing place to actually enjoy games! They have the volume of the games on and they have so many TVs with every game on. Food is great and prices are even better. Tiffany was also great. Charleston sports pub will be the new Saturday go to!
Zach H — Google review
I love going to Charleston Sports Pub on nights when I’m at the Pour House and need a quick snack! The service is always great and I like that they are open late. My main complaint and the reason they are not 5 stars is the size of the chicken tenders. I have noticed that they have been getting smaller. For 11.99, 3 tiny tenders and some fries does not seem like enough. I sub in a salad which helps, but it does cost extra.
Amanda N — Google review
It is a sport bar with as many TV's as the place could possibly hold. Wasn't expecting much in terms of food. But let me tell you, the burger was by far one of the best I had. The combination of the bacon and jam give this burger a perfect balance, juicy, fresh, and tender. Totally delicious. The fries were a bit too seasoned and salty, but Rob the chef, made a new bash for us and they were crispy, and perfect. If you are looking for a perfect burger in West Ashley this is it! Chase and Miracle, you ladies rocked customer service!!. I would definitely come back again

I had a great experience at Charleston Sports Pub thanks to Violet. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out just right. Even though the place was busy, she checked in often and kept a great attitude the whole time. Excellent service all around — she definitely made the visit enjoyable. Highly recommend asking for her if you stop by!

She was super friendly and attentive the entire time. Violet checked on us often to make sure we had everything we needed and were doing well. Her positive attitude and great service really made our experience enjoyable. Definitely one of the best servers we’ve had — thank you, Violet!

Went with some of my band mates during a break before a gig. Excellent food. Great atmosphere. Was served by Tiffany and she gave us excellent service. Next time I'm back in the area, I'd definitely come back

We love Charleston Sports Pub. All the staff members are SO sociable, and the food is sinfully good. Make sure you get some cheese fries, any variety. And their tacos. And their quesadillas. And their $3 margs from 4-7pm. Great place. Definitely visit!!

With many restaurants too full for our party of 8, CHS Sports Pub got us right in, and Tabby and Miracle took the BEST care of us! Our drinks were always full, the food came out quickly, and they always had smiles on their faces. We will definitely be back!

With an impressive selection of 26 beers on tap, including IPAs, browns, wheat ales, porters, seltzers, and sours sourced primarily from local Charleston breweries, there's something for every beer enthusiast.
This is a great spot for discerning Beer drinkers like yours truly. They have an excellent selection of great draft beers and cans to go in the cooler!! I had a Trillium beer from my home state of Massachusetts!! It was excellent. Even got some to go!!

This is such an amazing spot ! The owner is so nice, very knowledgeable on local beers and creates a very laid back enjoyable atmosphere. If you like beer tasting or even just a chill spot for a beer this is totally the place for you HIGLEY recommend!
Stephanie M — Google review
I could write a novel about the many years I have visited Crafty Draught. Despite the fact that there has been a lot of ownership shifts over the years, the friendly, cozy, welcoming vibe of this place has never died. I have a little ritual where I come to get a drink after my haircut next door. I highly recommend giving it a shot. Cheers!
Daniel I — Google review
Love this place. Perfect for the beer aficionado or even the casual beer drinker looking to expand his/her palate. Great vibe to the place and a knowledgeable staff. Parking is decent too. My one knock is when I asked for water (after I'd reached my limit) the barkeep handed me a plastic cup and said pointed me to the water fountain in the back near the restroom. Come on guys. It's water. Don't send your patrons to fill their own plastic cup from your drinking fountain. It's the little things. This won't keep me from returning. I'll be back but I just like to give reasons for my grade of 4 stars versus 5.
Thomas P — Google review
Pretty much every local beer, fun atmosphere and very knowledgeable staff. Recommend stopping in for a pint!
Ben L — Google review
I loved the vibe here. Relaxed. Inside and out. There were 26 beers on tap. Local beers were exactly what I was looking for and a great variety. There is no food. But they let you bring in food from the many surrounding restaurants. They are a short walk. There was also live music. But it wasn't so loud that you could not hear yourself think. Great atmosphere. Outdoor seating. It was nice enough for people to bring their little ones and sit out side and enjoy the evening. Also a food truck eventually came by as well.
Ray P — Google review
Fantastic environment and a large selection of beers (26 taps of craft beer)! Tom and Steph have gone all out with Friday Tap Takeovers with a food truck. It has become one of my regular places to go and I like that the taps are constantly rotating to try something different.
Brandon M — Google review
So I walk in at 8:00 pm on a Monday after a good dinner nearby to catch a quick beer with my wife and check the place out. I’m greeted by the bartender/server who states “it’s been a slow night and we are really not trying to stay open until 9:00” which is there closing time. The tap list looked great, but upon meeting this at the door. I would never step foot in this place to patronize them. Terrible business model. Plenty of other establishments to give my money to. I have told my father in law and brother in law who literally live right by here to not even try this place.
