The Bach is a trendy and laid-back bar bistro that pays homage to New Zealand, offering a global influence on its cafe fare. The name "Bach" reflects its Kiwi roots, meaning a holiday getaway home. Run by Kiwi owners, it offers an easygoing atmosphere with no-fuss mentality. The menu features craft coffee, rock star flavors, and diverse brunch options such as Eggs Benedict, kedgeree, corn fritters, and coconut-lime waffles.
Big up to Jonty for making our lunch date enjoyable. He provided great recommendations and the food was spectacular. The beer with the mango essence was a killer as well. Will come back again :)
Vignesh R — Google review
The Bach is located in the city centre, but parking is a bit far—so be ready for a short walk. The interior is well-designed and inviting, with a dog-friendly setup and seating options that work for everyone. I tried one of their smoothies, which was really good. However, for an Indian palate, I found the food a bit bland. Also, if you ask for a dip or sauce, they charge an extra pound, which felt a bit much. That said, the overall experience was positive—especially for first-timers who enjoy exploring new cuisines. Portion sizes were decent too
Abby S — Google review
I visited this spot on 3rd September and I have to say, I was really impressed. The vibe of the place is so chill and cozy. It’s the kind of atmosphere where you can just relax and enjoy your meal. The interior is also really well done, giving it an inviting feel. If you're ever looking for a place to unwind, this is definitely one to check out. I decided to try their Fried Vegan Breakfast and wow, the spread was amazing. Every element was fresh, flavorful, and really hit the spot. Just a heads-up, though, they do charge a little extra if you want bread with your breakfast, which was a bit of a surprise, but still worth it for the quality. Their menu is pretty extensive, offering something for everyone, but keep in mind the prices are a bit on the steeper side. Still, if you’re into exploring different cuisines and appreciate a cozy dining experience, it’s totally worth it. Overall, it was a really good experience and I will definitely be back to try more of their offerings. If you love discovering new places and enjoy tasty, well-prepared meals, this one’s a gem!

Came here for lunch, we were advised it would take about 30 minutes to get our food as it was pretty much full. We ordered the Cabbie burger and the French Toast, we also recieved a complimentary taster from the dinner menu that was pork (forgot the actual name but the man who served us it was very lovely and did fully explain the dish). All the food was delicious, no notes. We also had an iced chai latte and an iced mocha, also delicious and also no notes. The Bach is the best place in town in regards to having a variety of food for brunch, it is incredibly busy often for a reason!
Hannah B — Google review
Full disclosure before I start - I'm a Kiwi, so I'm a little biased about this wonderful gem. Dundee, you are so lucky to have this cafe. The menu was so varied that it was hard to decide. They take brunch seriously here, and that's reflected in their offerings. My korean fried chicken was delicious and served on a light cornmeal waffle. I loved the touch of pickled veges. Coffee's were great. On top of that, they've got a range of Kiwi treats on offer as well. The Bach ppl - if you're reading this, please know you're awesome. If there was one thing that jarred, it was the music choice. Nirvana at 10am on a Thursday wasn't quite the vibe we were expecting. Bring on Fat Freddys and crowded house (or, you know, a little more chill). ❤️
Anna A — Google review
Beware, the menu changes late afternoon. I came with a menu item in mind only to have missed the option by 20 minutes! The evening menu provides a good range of choices. So my Morrocan Carrots and Sweet Potato Fries substituted to provide an interesting range of tastes. The Spirulina cold drink went well with the food. The capuccino is the best I've tried in Dundee... so far!
Steve M — Google review
Giggling because google didn’t suggest this place. Now seeing the reviews, we are the ignorant and can confirm well worth a visit. We stumbled in tonight (Friday) and were so pleasantly surprised with the quality across the board. Kiwis did it right. Tomahawk was the star, everything else also delish. Atmosphere is a bit odd but you can actually hear each other and it all works. Very much enjoyed!!!

Great place with the best brunch, lunch and drinks options! Love that everything is well sourced and they offer halal meat. 10/10 will always go.

Malmaison Dundee is a Victorian hotel offering luxurious rooms and suites, along with a chic brasserie and stylish cocktail bar. The city of Dundee, located on the east coast of Scotland, is known for its rich culinary scene and historical significance. Renowned for its contribution to delectable treats like the famous Dundee Cake, the city offers a vibrant gastronomic experience.
We went here for my 40th birthday and booked out a meeting room for the weekend. It’s literally a couple of minutes from the train station and super convenient if you’re travelling from Glasgow. The service was absolutely phenomenal they took such great care of us. Super polite and super helpful and really attentive. I cannot tell you how good the food was. It was absolutely out of this world. Breakfast is a particular highlight where there is a combination of continental and cooked breakfast available and it’s all fantastic. Our room was cozy, but well appointed, clean and the air-conditioning worked a treat. This might sound like a weird thing to say, but it has the most incredible staircase like genuinely ridiculous. And I loved the lamps that were shaped like dogs. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making my birthday so special!

Close to the station and bus routes, friendly and efficient staff, clean, comfortable rooms very well equipped with coffee maker, kettle , fridge and a variety of coffees and teas. Breakfast and dinner was excellent with many options to choose from at reasonable prices. Bar was well stocked and reasonably priced.
Gerhard M — Google review
The first room they put me in was a dungeon…. I literally could not see the sky through the dirty window facing a brick wall. I begged them for another room, as it was thoroughly depressing. They were full that night. The next day they put me in the most beautiful room one floor up. It faced the river and was deeply satisfying to my soul. I come to Scotland every year to visit my mother who has Alzheimer’s, So to come back to the depressing first room was just the worst. Sadly, when I returned to the second room after visiting my mum, I discovered the whole fourth floor AC system was broken. So they had to move me again one floor below. Louis and Brian were very helpful in upgrading and moving me. I was grateful they still gave me a river facing room, but it was not nearly as special as the one I just left. The rest of my stay was OK. I got the breakfast included option, which was nice. The staff in there were lovely. The facility itself is in much need of a facelift. The wallpaper, lighting, carpet, and fixtures are all very tired. There was lots of visible dust. I probably won’t go back there again. I think I’ll get a city center apartment next time. Whatever you do, DO NOT book a cozy double - which was what they called the dungeon room. Nothing cozy about it. The best part about the hotel is that the edinburgh airport bus literally stops right outside the front door.
Diane B — Google review
Nice place for stay. The room is spacious, and the bed is very comfortable. Love their bed pillows. The location is great. Loads of pubs and restaurants just round the corner. Breakfast was ok, bacon and black pudding a bit dry and overcooked, but overall warm and tasty. There is no buffet breakfast, so bear in mind that it might take a bit longer them to serve cooked breakfast, especially when the restaurant will be busy.
Marcin D — Google review
Room was lovely. But the windows didn't close properly so sleep was disturbed . Coffee machine was out of order so no unlimited coffee which is my reason for hotel breakfast. Poached eggs were hard....really how does that happen? All on one visit? Bed was very firm.

My wife and myself enjoyed an excellent stay at this hotel. The staff are very professional but more importantly are friendly and make you feel welcome. We had dinner at the restaurant which we found to be excellent. Thank you .

Great dinner at Malmaison Dundee. Highlights were the steak and cheesecake, but honestly everything was good. Flavors were a little milder than I usually like, but still very enjoyable. Lovely atmosphere and good service. Worth a visit.
Murtaza R — Google review
Recently had dinner in the restaurant. Service was slow and food was of a poor standard. It is overpriced for the quality of their food. Charged £5 for a bottle of tap water. I definitely wont be back. If your staying at the hotel, best eat out.

The Giddy Goose is a charming wine bar and pizza place located near the University of Dundee's city center campus. It offers an array of delectable options, including stone-baked pizzas, burgers, grilled garlic and chili prawns, seafood Thai red curry, fish cakes, scallops, and smoked haddock mac n cheese. The establishment is known for its bohemian style and garden terrace seating.
The place has a vibrant and energetic ambience. Seating is available both on the ground floor and downstairs. The staff members are friendly, and the menu features a wide variety of delicious food options. I will say that it's a cool place to hang out with friends and acquaintances. Now, the Christmas decorations are on as well!

Went in for brunch and had a great experience. Lovely outdoor area with heat lamps in case it's cold, indoors decorated very well. Food was amazing (I had chicken and waffles) and staff very friendly. Will definitely come back

Fantastic service and delicious food. The halloumi cowboy bowl is a must-try, it's incredibly tasty. The pizza was also great. The cauliflower tacos were a bit bland, but the portion size was very generous, making it a great value for the price.
Graham D — Google review
The place is very cosy, friendly and has warm vibes. The staff are really nice and welcoming. I noticed they have boardgames for anyone to play with but I didn't try them. I ordered Giddy's cheeseburger, the beef is fresh and cooked real well, however the fries are kind of oily.
Raneem A — Google review
Ordered a burger that was to come with pulled ham. Staff advised me that there was no pulled ham but offered bacon. When the burger came it had prosciutto and not bacon. Definitely it the same effect as bacon. The tacos were good and staff were friendly.

Very nice place. Tasty food accompanied by a nice atmosphere and nice music. Lovely staff and professional. A bit pricey compared to other similar places but I didn't mind because all the rest were to my partner's and myself's likings. It is worth a visit.

TL;DR: Stick to their drinks and standard menu. Visited here for a meal with 8 people booked two weeks in advance for their festive menu. We were told that we would have two separate tables, which we were fine with. On the day we received a call advising us we could now have one table which we were very happy with. Upon arriving our single table was a booth meant for 4-6 people. There additionally was a very large party of approximately 15-20 people sitting beside us on the bottom floor that were incredibly disruptive and we were unable to hear our own conversations. It took 25 minutes for a drinks order to be taken. An additional 15 for it to be delivered. After which our food order was taken (starters followed by mains) in which the starters took over an hour to be delivered. The food was very bland and of poor quality. The main course arrived over an hour and a half later which was completely inedible, cold, wrongly advertised and tasted horrific and processed. We had no one check up on us and had to go to the bar ourselves to order drinks and complain. The supervisor was very lovely and understanding and compensated us for the issue. Unfortunately this has left us with a sullen experience. The drinks are well presented and flavourful and their standard menu is better than what we received.

Located on the corner of West Port, The West House has recently undergone a refurbishment and now boasts a new menu to complement its fresh look. From breakfast to dinner, this eatery offers an array of options including pastas, pizzas, sharing platters, and delectable desserts. With high table seating as well as regular tables, it welcomes everyone with its relaxed vibe. Students often frequent this spot due to its diverse and affordable menu that includes hearty burgers, fresh salads, and tasty wraps.
Amazing food & drink, attentive staff topped off with a lovely atmosphere. This wee gem of a cafe come restaurant is a must visit if you are staying in Dundee. 😍 Booking highly recommended as there were a few turned away while we were there. We were staying at the Central Travelodge and looking for breakfast. It is a little expensive but very much worth every penny. We had two breakfasts with drinks (see pics 😋) and it cost £26.40. If we stayed in Dundee we would definitely return. Thank you West House for a lovely experience. 😎

Went here on a deal with Itison so had a look at the reviews beforehand. Externally it doesn't look great and under normal circumstances would pass it by however we were surprised. Food was freshly prepared and tasty. Service was excellent and the young man and woman organising our food couldn't have been more helpful. Toilets were nice and clean. An enjoyable experience

Friendly service, it was really busy so that's always a good sign. Plenty of GF options. Really good pizza. 😋. I had goats cheese which was delicious. I would recommend this place for lunch or brunch.

I’ve visited West House a couple of times recently and it’s quickly becoming a favourite spot. The Ragu pasta was absolutely delicious, rich, hearty and full of flavour. I also came by for brunch with my dance society and had the chicken and bacon sandwich, which was really tasty and felt great value for money. The place itself has such a lovely, chilled vibe. The interior is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax with friends. On top of that, they have a really good selection of drinks at the bar. Overall, West House is a gem in Dundee with great food, great atmosphere and definitely worth a visit.

Stumbled across this wonderful cafe serving gf pizza and pasta using the find me gluten free app. It was very busy so we had a wee wait but it was well worth it for the absolutely delicious gluten free and dairy free half pizza I enjoyed with a small bowl of sweet potato, carrot and butternut squash soup. Only £10.75. It's the best gluten free pizza I've had in the ten years I've not been able to eat gluten. Staff are very friendly. Music was very loud and difficult to have a conversation when we first arrived as people were speaking loudly to be heard but by the end of the meal some people had left and the music was quieter so it was a lovely relaxing ambience and able to have a conversation.

Pizzas fuel photoshoots! Our team met for lunch ahead of a project in Dundee, sharing some very tasty pizzas and potato wedges. The ‘little hottie’ is a favourite! The staff are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere relaxing and easy to chat. Highly recommend a visit, whether you’re on a photoshoot or not!

Not much is open at 8am which posed a challenge as we were due to an event at 9am at the University. After our first option fizzled out, we happened across The West House. I had a great coffee and we really enjoyed the meal. The atmostphere was great and we really enjoyed the music (despite not knowing most of it). The staff were very pleasant and aware of why we were visiting so thoughtful in how they engaged us. We were able to eat quickly and make it out on schedule. Overall this was a great start to the day and I'll return again.

Had a fantastic meal for my daughter's 21st. Clean, smart modern surroundings, the food was fabulous. Service wasn't the fastest, but that made for a relaxing meal. It's a wine bar later in the evening so i recommend eating early as it livens up after 9pm.

The Tinsmith is a popular gastropub located in the West End of Dundee, drawing in both students and locals. The pub offers a vibrant atmosphere, complete with a lovely beer garden and live music. Known for serving some of the best pies in Scotland, it's a favorite spot for those craving traditional Scottish fare. The menu features haggis fritters, delectable pies, and even the classic deep-fried Mars Bar for dessert.
Visited the place with my research colleagues. The ambiance was nice and pleasantly cozy, and the seating was comfortable. With multiple large-screen TVs, I would say a great spot to watch sports. The staff was friendly and professional. I tried their chicken stack, which was okay. The lemonade was refreshing.

Nice pub with extensive menu in the student area of Dundee. Visited on a sunny day and the beer garden was nice to sit out in. Food and drinks orders were taken quickly and the food came out fairly quickly after that. Very affordable too.

Friendly service, good beer garden, could do with more "other" brewery beers.
Foodie E — Google review
The froth was of a respectable quality, feeling exactly as froth should be - not too airy, not too thick. While the temperature certainly could have been improved, being a little on the cool side, the chocolatiness was excellent, and the consistency quite respectable, save for the bottom - a common side effect of mediocre temperature. Adding in sugar is recommended, making the drink quite sweet and delicious. Overall, a very good hot chocolate - 7/10

A nice green park in Dundee. There is a basketball court and a few tennis courts in the park. The atmosphere is great and it has a nice setup for a picnic. Sadly I saw a few dog messes in and around the park and it will be great if the council takes some strict measures to keep the park clean. The courts are crowded during the weekends.
Nikhil M — Google review
A beautiful park on the outskirts of the city centre. There are wide open spaces for dog walkers to let the furries run wild. The place also has tennis, basketball and football courts. The top end has loads of winding paths meandering through the trees. Well worth a visit if you fancy a chilled out retreat .

Here, you'll find an impressive selection of wines sourced from around the globe, alongside delectable Scottish-inspired small plates and sharing boards that are perfect for grazing.
Excellent wine list, service, location, and ambiance! I was greeted and sat right away with a smile, had the menu explained and given recommendations, then served very quickly. I appreciated the service and efficiency.

We were a party of over 20 on a Sunday evening at the end of April. We did pre-order the food to make life for them easier. They managed to squeeze us into 4 joined-up tables. They had our food all made up correctly (although some of us probably over-ordered). It was fabulous. A mixture of starter / small plates / sharing plates all perfect. A good choice of reasonably priced wines available. All good value, service with a smile and very helpful staff. Thoroughly recommended.

We popped into The Wine Press for a, between lunch and dinner snack, after a day of driving from the highlands. New to Dundee we asked Jamie for wine suggestions as well as places we could consider for dinner later that night. Jamie was very friendly, helpful and an all around good bloke. He paired up some lovely wines with our Vitners Plate and we weren't disappointed at all. We had a fantastic time at The Wine Press and will definitely return next time we are in Dundee!

What a lovely place with a really laid back atmosphere , great wine selection and the food was fresh and tasty. If you want somewhere where you can relax and actually hear your friends talk..... Fabulous 😍😍

Cheese board with added side of meat and hummus with pitta bread lovely. As was the wine that we selected. Felt that portion size for padron peppers and spanish omelette on smaller side for price. My 2nd visit and won't be my last.

My Mum and I came upon this amazing place by accident. Our first visit to Dundee. The choice of great wine; delicious mediterranean bites and small plates, not forgetting the very pleasant staff, make this a gem for Dundee. Worth making the trip for! Well done!

This charming salon offers an array of courses that cater to beauty enthusiasts, and one standout is their Bow Lamination course. Attendees rave about the warm and professional atmosphere created by Karen, who is not only knowledgeable but also incredibly supportive. The salon itself boasts a pristine environment filled with top-notch equipment and beautifully presented products that are both easy to use and effective.
Great training with Karen for Dermaplaning and chemical peels. She was informative and supportive and I left feeling confident to carry out the treatments on my own. Can’t wait to go back and learn more from her 😊

First course completed with Karen and won’t be my last! Karen is knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful throughout. Could not fault the course in any way, in-depth theory and the loveliest models to practice on. Thanks again💗

I have been going to a Karen for years now and every time I get a professional, friendly, and fantastic service. She will do whatever she can to fit you in and my nails have never been better. I highly recommend her services to anyone!

Karen is very conscientious and is happy to discuss treatments etc. Her Lady Tonic salon is spotlessly clean and she uses the best products. Always punctual and welcoming, I highly recommend a visit for an extensive range of treatments.

I have trained with Karen a few times now. Every course I’ve done has been very informative, Karen explains everything in depth and is very knowledgeable about each course. I always feel at ease and not rushed with Karen and she is always on hand afterwards to answer any questions.

I did a course in Bow Lamination at Lady Tonic today. I have done lots of courses over the years in my beauty career, but Karen was by far and away the most lovely, kind, professional, knowledgeable and helpful trainer that I have come across. Her salon was so clean, and well equipped. And her new brand of products are really quick, easy to use and the packaging and presentation is just gorgeous. I have left feeling confident and excited about doing brow lamination for my clients. Thank you for having me today and I’m already looking forward to future courses with you. Highly recommend. Love Claire Jackson.

The pub offers a wide selection of craft beers and an eclectic menu with meal deals, including vegetarian and vegan options. It's known for its affordable prices, making it a favorite spot for students to grab a bite with friends.
First time for boozy brunch and won’t be my last. Food was excellent - drinks were strong and tasty! Ben was very attentive and mannerly. See you next month! Thanks again. :)
Lisa T — Google review
The food is good I have to say first. But this is not ok or so bad as a sport bar! Every table around is the same going to see a football match and the staff refuse to open the sound of TV! Therefore our football watching become a silent game + noisy club music😵‍💫😵😤😡, such a bad place for watching games but good if you only need some food. Have to say again food is good 👍
Xiaohui S — Google review
Always a good visit to Braes for sports matches. Lots of TVs/screens, and ample seating. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Food portions could perhaps be a bit more generous and flavourful. We got the social sharer which has a good variety of chicken wings, chicken bites, grilled halloumi, garlic bread and onion rings, but could be improved in quantity for the price of £21.

Booked student boozy brunch for myself and a couple friends, it was an absolute steal. We ended up paying £30pp for 6 cocktails and a main meal each which is an insane deal. The service was fantastic, every member of staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We will absolutely be coming back again and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great boozy brunch!!

Specialty Museums
The Dundee Museum of Transport, currently located in temporary quarters on Market Street, offers a fascinating display of vehicles and models showcasing the transport history of Dundee. From trams to railways, marine history to a diverse selection of cars including the famous Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, this museum has something for everyone. Children will especially enjoy the interactive exhibits where they can climb onto cars and buses.
It's a tiny but very interesting museum. The biggest surprise was the interactive experience—being able to get inside the cars! It was something I've never experienced before!
Junhao P — Google review
Great welcome and introduction to the museum by the staff. Interesting mixture of vehicles and lovely cars you can sit in. Story of the Tay rail disaster and a poignant list of all who lost their lives. Good video displays and an interactive children's corner. We spent 1 and a half hours there.
Fiona H — Google review
Nice little transport museum hidden away in Dundee. It is quite small but they do have a lot of interesting exhibits. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. You can sit in some of the vintage cars too which I feel is pretty rare these days in museums. They're eventually moving to a new bigger premises in the old Maryfield tram depot off forfar road so excited to see what they make of it!
Angus W — Google review
A cracking little museum, showing the history of Dundee's transport links. A few of the displays are marked with a proactive * STAR so you can sit in the cars marked or climb aboard the bus or fire engine, Great for kids of all ages! A play area is good for younger ones to be entertained while others explore further. Go along and reminisce or learn something new that you didn't know...
David G — Google review
Went here for a car meet. Parking was ok, just busier than usual due to the event. It's the end of October so it was getting dark pretty early and there was no lighting in the overflow carpark and minimal lighting in the carpark out front. The staff member who was working was very polite and helpful serving hot drinks and snacks. The museum was clean and tidy.

Fantastic time at the museum on Sunday. Lots for the kids to see and do, including a racing game while sitting in a car. Well worth a visit!

The menu also features innovative recipes such as shakshuka, bubble and squeak benny, Colombian eggs, and brioche French toast.
Fantastic service from the friendliest staff and another delicious breakfast helping get set up for the day ahead! Can’t recommend the ‘Bubble and Squeak Benny’ enough, but every dish hits the mark! Thanks for making my morning! ☕️

Really lovely brunch. The brioche toast though, could have more sauce on the side or on it. Still a great experience. Decent pricing also. First time trying bubble and squeak benny and I must say it was my favourite. Bursting of flavour.

Worst experience. I was recommended to come here and I was extremely disappointed. We ordered two breakfasts. As vegetarians and that was made clear. I was given bacon on my plate. They took the bacon off and gave the plate back. It was unprofessional of them as they should have made a fresh plate. Got my food back and the eggs were so undercooked so changed my order. Partner didn’t eat his as the his eggs were extremely undercooked. Charged full price which was £41 even with a pathetic £4 taken off. We shouldn’t have been charged for at least one of the meals. Disappointed and do not recommend!
Kirsty S — Google review
Went for brunch as many recommended. Pastrami toastie had a tiny slither of pastrami. Poor value. Partner left feeling hungry. Haevos pacamara was bland. Coffee was alright. No seats inside. So happy to sit outside. Very wobbly bench & table. Better value tastier brunch options elsewhere.

Amazing place. We went there for breakfast on a Sunday. It was quite busy already. Unfortunately they only accept walk-ins. We were lucky that there were a few tables available. We had the waffles and brioche French toast. Delicious. Coffee was very good as well. Their cake selection looked great and we're yet to try them. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We're looking forward to going back.

Small interesting cafe by Perth road. Tried 2 dishes. Korean buttermilk fried chicken with Gochujang chili sauce. The waffles was made well with a certain crisp to it and wasn’t burnt. The sweetness of the honey waffles went well with the sweetness and spicyness of the fried chicken. Recommended to try! Whereas for the Beef burger. The beef patty was slightly over cooked but everything came well together. However, the rusted fries was however something you should get , it was fried perfectly and well seasoned!

Cafe
FIKA Dundee, a charming café inspired by Swedish culture, has recently reopened under new ownership after a brief closure. Albany Keith, known for his baking business Sinfully Sweet, has taken the helm and is now serving an enticing selection of cakes, traybakes, light bites, and coffee. This cozy spot is perfect for catching up with friends or finding a quiet nook to study—especially since it's conveniently located near Dundee University.
We had our work christmas party tonight, the owner is lovely, service and cake are great. It’s a great place for a small causal party or meet up xx

Friendly staff, lovely decorations, and I like the "pass it on" initiative. However food is quite bland for my taste. I had the avocado toast with salmon on the side. It was literally just avocado on sourdough with not much seasoning. Price at the end was calculated wrong as well but I questioned it and that was corrected. Overall it was a nice café but food was not flavourful for me. Still worth a visit because of their staff and ethos.

Dropped in for hot drink and cake, at this small independent coffee shop. Friendly proprietor, main trade with university students apparently. Worthy of more local support.

Very cute and cozy cafe a short walk from the Uni and city center. The coffee was fantastic, and the selection of pastries and light bites were wonderful. The seating is a bit limited, but they offer takeout for everything.

Absolutely loved our visit the other day. Felt so at ease and well looked after. Our first visit to a cafe since covid, had my 2 young children with me and they loved it! Thanks so much guys! Food was amazing and the kids loved their kids food board 😍 can't wait to come back xx
Leonie E — Google review
I was really gutted to visit today as I've followed Fika on Instagram for ages and I was really looking forward to an accessible and trans inclusive space for a cup of tea and some vegan cake. I arrived in my wheelchair and there was a step at the entrance. I had googled beforehand and the cafe was listed as being wheelchair accessible, my partner and I waited outside for a few moments, but no one seemed to notice us. Feeling a bit let down, my partner went inside whilst I sat outside in my wheelchair, he bought me a slice of vegan sticky toffee loaf which after being wheeled back up the hill, I ate in the car. It was so stale that it was inedible. My partner tells me that it was the last slice there and there weren't anymore vegan cakes. So ultimately it just ended up going in the bin as both of us felt so dejected by it all that we couldn't face going back.

Nestled in the heart of Dundee's main redevelopment zone, Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa offers a modern and vibrant stay. Situated near popular attractions like the V&A Dundee and HMS Unicorn, guests can also explore various dining and shopping options in the city center.
We had a really great stay here. It's surprisingly beautiful inside - the exterior doesn't give you that impression. The lobby, restaurant and bar area are beautifully decorated. Breakfast was exceptionally good. The service was excellent too. We had a superior room, and it was huge with loads of furnishings. It was baking hot though in the room, keep the windows open and the AC AND the fan on, unless you want to be cooked alive.

We stayed for 3 nights and I was amazed at how nice this hotel was. Cleanliness was to a high standard, it was very quiet and the facilities were great. If you’re also wanting to eat at the restaurant, this is also a good place to eat, however I would say it is slightly more expensive than your regular restaurants. We were welcomed and I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Apex Dundee!

Unfortunately, I haven’t actually been able to stay at this hotel my booking is actually for 10 days from now. My booking is for just over a week from now. I did book a non refundable rate, clearly my mistake, however I wasn’t expecting to not be travelling to Dundee. For family reasons we won’t be going to Dundee and have had to cancel our trip. I did convey the reasons to the hotel but there is no empathy from the hotel regarding the matter all they care about is the money. Legally there is no obligation to refund the room rate to me but in some instances surely circumstances should be considered. They are happy for me to cancel the reservation and I would assume then sell the room to someone else, great business for them, but have zero interest in my reasons for having to cancel. Shame on you! There doesn’t appear to be any way to verify that my room will actually be there sitting empty for 3 days as I have already paid for it. First and last time using this chain. Buyer Beware!

We had a fantastic stay in this new hotel. The staff are young but very professional and extremely helpful and friendly. We were bumped to a larger room on the top floor, which was a delightful surprise upon arrive (Thank you Lucy !). The public spaces are bright and modern. The food and drink, which on the first night, we were able to take up to our room without any silly room-service charges, was just great. All in all, a great place to stay and explore Dundee. It's also very convenient, if like us, you're fly in or out of Edinburgh.

Second time I've stayed here and love the place. Very modern fixtures, fantastic food and breakfast options. Staff are polite and very friendly. Only downfall was that the room was a little small.
Sarah J — Google review
We stayed here on our way to Aberdeen. The staff was lovely and the rooms clean. The bathroom was gigantic with both bath and shower. The only thing I would say is, don't trust when they say the restaurant is fully booked. We were told we had to hurry down for dinner and the restaurant was empty.
Daniela C — Google review
Once again we enjoyed a lovely evening in the restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. As ever, staff were warm, friendly, professional and attentive and the food and drinks were fantastic. Lovely setting and atmosphere and excellent customer service. This restaurant is a family favourite.
Michelle — Google review
An ok accommodation but it should be noted that there is no air con in the rooms and TV does not allow streaming / screen mirroring with my iPhone (despite function being technically available). We had a twin room with a notably narrow single bed each, which is not for everyone. Parking is £7 / night. Vibrant reception area… with noise late into the evening / early morning on the Friday night.

Sleeperz Hotel Dundee is a modern lifestyle hotel conveniently located above the train station, offering easy access for travelers arriving by train. Despite its proximity to the railway, the rooms are well soundproofed and provide stunning views of V&A Dundee and RRS Discovery. The hotel is part of the city's waterfront redevelopment project and offers accessible rooms as well as lift access to all floors.
It's the cleanest, most comfortable, and best hotel I've ever stayed in Europe. What was impressive was that the hotel room was very soundproof, so it was very very quiet. The water pressure in the shower was very very strong like a Japanese hotel, so I was able to wash up happily. The location is also located right at Dundee railway station, The staff is kind, too. Luggage storage services are very good.so everything is perfect.

The hotel’s location is incredibly convenient, situated right next to the train station, no need to even cross the road! While the room is small, it’s spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The 24-hour reception staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, ensuring a smooth and pleasant stay. A great bonus is the 25% discount for parking at the nearby Greenmarket car park, adding even more value to your visit.

I originally posted this on Booking.com but they summarised my review. Location was brilliant, so close to the station and town centre. The staff were brilliant. We spoke to a lovely lady in reception, I think her name was Emily. We were staying for a funeral and as check in is later in the day, we would have had nowhere to get changed and freshen up. After explaining this to reception, she got the room ready as a priority and even gave me a courtesy call to let me know it was ready. I would stay here again and I would recommend this place to my friends.

Such a pleasure staying here. It's my go to hotel while I'm in Dundee. Stayed here first time in 2023 and came back again this year. Rooms are very comfortable and cosy. Great location and gentle staff. Rooms were modern and clean, in general. The only thing which was not as clean as the others was the toilet, as you can see in the photo. In addition, the reception is on the second floor and the signs are not easy to notice at first.

This was quite possibly the nicest hotel experience I have had - certainly for quite some time. The room was lovely, the ambience was friendly and the staff were lovely. Also, the location (the same building as the train station) could not have been more convenient).

Travelodge Dundee Strathmore Avenue is a straightforward budget hotel located on the outskirts of the city center. It offers a casual restaurant and bar, as well as complimentary parking. The hotel is in a quiet location, with clean and spacious rooms. The staff are friendly and welcoming, providing helpful service at the front counter. While it may be basic, it offers comfortable accommodation with easy access to the town center by bus or car.
Upon arrival I thought oh dear what have I booked... but the rooms are spotless, the staff are outstanding and we enjoyed our stay! Huge shout out to the guy on reception/bar/kitchen. He did it all! Gave excellent recommendations and was a lovley and friendly person!
Abigail R — Google review
Paid £155 for a room that’s usually £39 a night because there was a local event on, to be fair I feel robbed, the receptionist was lovely and tried her best to accommodate us, the out side of the hotel looked like a run down prison block, got to the rooms and honestly if you had replaced the double bed with bunk beds I would have sworn I was In the jail cell. Not very relaxing nor welcoming at all. We had to even check our room for bedbugs it was so outdated and behind the bed was disgustingly dusty. The main room Light didn’t work, tv tiny, poor ventilation, no air conditioning, internet poor, very very very basic of rooms. Breakfast was ok but terrible selection, feel bad I even paid more just to have breakfast. So total Cost of our hotel stay with breakfast came to £190 . For that price I would have expected way more, very very disappointing!!!! £14 for a cider and vodka n coke is just ridiculous. Place needs a serious upgrade or knocked down and rebuilt would be far easier. Feel Bad for the staff they try their best in a bad situation.
Vikki C — Google review
Had a one night stay, standard room with two dogs. On check in last night at 1830 hrs, there was no-one in reception. Another guest appeared and we waited - after five minutes I went looking for a member of staff - he was in the kitchen. He apologised and checked us in. This morning took our dogs out at 0530 hrs - returned at 0550 hrs - we tried to get access but couldn't because the room key card wouldn't work. Once again, went to try and find a member of staff - had to knock on the window of the dining room to alert a young woman. She let us in, I mentioned that the key card reader wasn't working, she said she knew, but she was cooking breakfast!'. I don't have an issue with the two members of staff, they were trying to do their job but this Travelodge is obviously understaffed - get a grip management!
RLH — Google review
You are welcomed into the carpark by an enormous pothole and you do wonder if your car will be nicked whilst parked here, such is the air of dereliction. The staff are nice enough but Travelodge should be ashamed of their lack of investment. On the positive side it is close to the Dundee Law which you can walk or drive up for stunning views, and then it’s a downhill walk to the city centre, in total around a 40 minute walk.
M I — Google review
Had to wait a little while at the desk to check in, but honestly no big deal, the staff member that checked me in was very friendly and helpful. The room was great, I don't know why people are complaining, they are clean and comfortable.
Michael ( — Google review
I was working away, like I do a lot and normally a travelodge is OK, but this one really needs doing up, and better supervision, the smell of weed in the corridors was so strong it felt like I was joining in, we got in at 10pm and left at 8am and I feel like they was to long. The only time we spoke to any staff was to book in we didn't every get a good morning when we left.
Steve Y — Google review
Just checked into this hotel and can honestly say by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Arrived to find the hotel looking like an run down ruin, rooms are tiny and as basic as basic gets. There seems to be homeless people accommodated in the hotel which is not the experience we were looking for during our last minute stay in the area. Reception staff to be fair was excellent as done all she could and gave us numbers to call for Central reservation and also customer service who were no use at all and could provide no assistance apart from what the computer was telling them. We are hoping to get a refund and booking another hotel close by as we honestly do not feel safe in the hotel and would rather lose our money than chance staying here. This hotel should not be open to the public. There is no WiFi, elevator looks and feels like a hospital mortuary elevator. Our hotel towels had blood on them which tells you all you need to know! The entire place is tired and run down and it seems evident why this Travel Lodge is lacking the investment and tlc like the other branches. Avoid at all costs!
Sscott S — Google review
Great value for the price. Setting up a booking is also very quick and easy to do on the phone. The closest Tesco is around a 10 minute walk away and if you don't have a car, the closed bus stop is a 4 minute walk away so it's in a decent location. The staff was professional and helpful. The housekeepers were very kind and helpful as well. You'll have to pay for the internet and it's alright but I do recommend just going to the library since it has free wifi and like a 7-10 minute walk away if you'd rather save money. All in all a good experience, just what I needed as a solo traveler.

The Landmark Hotel and Leisure Club is a luxurious 19th-century mansion turned upscale hotel, offering elegant and spacious rooms with modern amenities. Nestled in its own beautiful grounds, the 4-star hotel features an indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna facilities, and a conservatory-style restaurant. Guests can enjoy complimentary high-speed internet access throughout the property. Conveniently located just off the A90, it provides free parking including Tesla charging bays for travelers.
After an issue with our booking, Claire at reception was fantastic making sure that my parents were able to be comfortable in a room that was not an accessible room. But later, after checking with the other booking was able to move them into the accessible room. She was also super helpful in guiding us round some roadworks when the roundabout outside the hotel was unexpectedly closed and we were late for our dinner reservation. She very kindly asked if the kitchen staff could stay to help us out, which they did (thank you team). The food was delicious. I had your salmon and it was perfect. My only improvement was that the hot water for the bath was a little tepid. Small issue, it certainly would not discourage me from coming back or recommending it. I would recommend just for the staff alone, however, the rooms are clean and spacious. The rooms were super comfy and really clean.

A genuinely beautiful hotel! Rooms, reception, leisure suite and bar were all wonderfully decorated. We had dinner and it was very nice as well. Good prices for drinks and the staff were really polite. The only problem was breakfast. Everything was nearly empty. All tables were very dirty upon coming in at 9pm. Definitely a member of staff or 2 more needed as 2 was not enough. Many people seemed to be just standing about waiting for things to be topped up or had to ask. Sausages were lukewarm and sitting in fat. I would put it down to management not staffing properly. For the size of the breakfast area, 4 people would be suffice and not the best selection All in all, the hotel was absolutely wonderful. Breakfast just needs more attention

The rooms are equipped with everything you could need for a good night stay - shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, iron & ironing board. Good selection of hot drinks & biscuits in the room too which was a nice touch! Room was clean & the bed was very comfy. Use of the sauna, pool & gym was included so in the morning we had a steam/sauna then had breakfast. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of selection. Food was hot & delicious. Honestly couldn't ask for anything more of our stay 😊

We had a wonderful stay athe The Landmark in Dundee. The receptionist who met us & checked us in was superb & very helpful. The room was good size & spotless. Bed very comfy. Bathroom was lovely & immaculate. We used the leisure facilities which slightly dated were clean & nice. The bar & restaurant staff very friendly. Good value for money & we have already booked again.

Nice place. Clean sheets on a very comfortable bed. Good TV nice rooms and sauna and pool. Nice helpful, efficient, polite and friendly staff. However, the place looks a little tired and the decorating needs freshening up. But that’s the decorator in me.

Excellent value for money! Cost us £75 per night including spa access. Really nice hotel, breakfast was fantastic. Friendly reception staff. Rooms could maybe do with a lick of paint hence the 1 star knocked down but id definitely stay again.

Would give 0 if I could, so sad to see this hotel in such a sorry state, went for lunch, had a burger which was 17.99 and the absolutely worst tasting burger I have ever eaten! Service not much better, atmosphere non existent! Kids hardly touched there meals. Will not be back. A good clean wouldn't go a miss either.

Travelodge Dundee Central is a budget hotel located just north of the city center, offering streamlined rooms and complimentary parking. The hotel is pet-friendly and conveniently situated for exploring Law Hill and other local parks. It provides essential amenities such as daily housekeeping, 24-hour front desk, car park, pets allowed, and 24-hour check-in. Recent improvements include additional double-glazed windows to minimize noise disturbances. Guests have praised the spacious rooms with high ceilings, comfortable beds, and clean towels.
Spacious rooms but generally basic. - Stocked with tea bags, coffee powder packets (they always have decaf too), sugar and milk sachets. - Has a table fan, TV, kettle, iron and ironing board. - Sadly, there were wide plastic chairs with metal legs spread out to ensure one’s toes get stubbed constantly 😪. - Extra beds are readily arranged. Your room’s keycard is required to operate the lift, that makes it fairly safe.

First off, the elevator stunk of dog piss. Secondly, the bathroom stunk and had not been cleaned properly at all, there was mould in the shower. The room was okay could’ve been better but understandable for the money. The bathroom was the worst possible thing I’ve experienced, ceiling ripped, stunk like it hadn’t been cleaned since the past 4 residents and no water pressure too.

Room was large and clean But it was incredibly hot. Window opened hardly at all. Only plugs were at the desk. None either side of the bed so the fan provided didnt hit us in bed. We had to unplug the tv so we could have the fan on and charge two phones. Only 1 towel given per person, not very helpful when I have long hair to dry and any hotel ive been in gives two towels per guest. Location is really centeral and good for walking anywhere.

Are the staff forced to work there, nobody is happy in this place, not just here but go into town and everybody is miserable. You'd think it's voluntary but no, they get a wage and still miserable. What's wrong with locals here, I've never seen people this unhappy as a whole anywhere else in the UK. I'm sure the toiletries are even watered down 🤦🏽‍♂️🤔😂 The only friendly person in this area was a homeless addict of some sort. What a nice guy he was, give him a room and clean him up and you'd have a much nicer staff to welcome people spending the night here.

Well what can I say about my 3 day stay..... awful 😔 Breakfast is a prepacked box containing cereal etc... that was additional cost. Room was generally clean apart from a patch of what looked like vomit on the carpet. Plug sockets no where near the bed. I was given an accessibility room which had a huge room but not ideal as the bathroom sink was too low, no rails that were higher to hang dresses. The staff that I spoke to were really helpful and gave me a hairdryer when I couldn't find one in the room. The bed was uncomfortable and by the third night I couldn't wait to go home. The zip that connects the two beds was uncomfortable to lay on so effectively slept on oneside of the double bed.

Room was ok in general although bed very hard, bathroom ceiling paint falling off, shower roasting unable to adjust heat of it. Loud generator outside window very loud even with window closed. Carpets very dirty in room, elevator and corridor. Outside entrance was smelly, dirty and full of rubbish. On arrival staff were pleasant and welcoming, we ask for ironing board and iron, 5 hours later we had to go to reception and ask again for these at which the staff member handed items to my wife to bring up to the room herself. Although handy to city centre don't think we'd be staying here again.

Stayed here over a year ago now but my review is not here. ? Booked 2 nights in November for Xmas shopping. In short. Room was freezing (even with portable heater we got when complained). Alsi because lift went working, everyone was using stairs. These stairs are metal and on the otherwise of our room wall the noise was like thunder all night. We left after only 1 night and was told we woukd get a free stay voucher from manager emailed to us but this never happened either. Use to stay in travelodges a lot but not since then. Poor show

Bear in mind I am rating this from my perspective as a disabled person. My first problem was finding the car park, it is not clearly indicated from outside, but fortunately it is off a quiet road so we had time to stop and check. The disabled spaces are marked, and the closest to the door, which was a bonus, and it was a simple case of getting up the dropped kerb and through the automatic doors to the counter. I did not see any dropped counter, which is awkward for me, so I asked my wife to take the door cards. Our room was on the second floor, so I went to the lift and found my chair, which I admit is wider than normal, only just got in. I didn't have a tape to measure if it was 900mm, I haven't had this problem before. Once in the lift, I had to present a door card to a detector before the lift would move which was unfortunately now behind my right shoulder. As I have osteoarthritis, it was a painful exercise to wave the key card in front of it. Getting out of the lift was of course, a nightmare. The door to the was offset from the lift, the stairs to the right, and I am pretty sure there was not a 1.5m turning space. Add to all this that the wheels on the chair are trying to turn while I am part way out, the door is heavy, and the chair jammed twice and, well you can imagine. Just as well another customer arrived and held the door allowing me to concentrate on getting out of the lift and not going down stairs. Once on the floor, there were 2 sets of heavy swing doors I certainly could not manage, and even though my wife had joined me in her scooter by this time, between us they were a struggle. Fortunately, a staff member appeared, and came with us to our room, and she was very helpful, pleasant and polite. A real credit to the hotel! When we got to the room I found my wheelchair would not go through the door. So I had to park outside, and use 2 sticks and hope I didn't fall! It might only have been 10 or 15 steps for most people, for me it was as good as a half mile or more. My legs were shaking by the time I got to the bed. However, the room was at first check, great! It was fine and big, plenty of room for 2 wheelchair users, and the shower room had been equipped with hand rails and drop down rails. There was even a giant sink right in front of the toilet, just in case you wanted to get off that way. But why was there only one somewhat uncomfortable bucket type chair? Disabled people like to be able to sit in a little comfort at times! That is why I ended up sitting on the bed. It was a little lower than I am used to, but I thought I would manage. I won't say full marks for the comfort of the beds, but they were not far off it! Just with them being low, by morning, I was really struggling to get up to the toilet, and had to get help, which I seldom need to do after a rest. One other thing I should say about the room is it was reasonably quiet considering the hotel is in a city centre. That was a bonus for us as we come from a very quiet place where everything stops at midnight at the latest. So when taken overall, I have to give staff full marks, and then some. The location was just what we were looking for, it could not have been much better. For most people, I imagine that if their rooms are anything like the one we had, then their stay would be fine, though I think the hotel could invest in much better chairs. For the average disabled person, they would have faced many of the same difficulties that I did, heavy swing doors, narrow room doors, etc. But overall, it might not have been the best hotel I have stayed in but it definitely is not the worst, and though some improvements are simple, some are clearly structural and there is not much that can be done about them. So just be aware.

Extended stay hotel
Staybridge Suites Dundee, an IHG Hotel offers informal studios and apartments in a laid-back setting with a 24-hour gym and complimentary breakfast. The property is conveniently located within walking distance of popular attractions like Discovery Point and Minnie The Minx Statue. Guests can enjoy spacious, modern, and well-equipped rooms with city views. The hotel also provides family rooms, facilities for disabled guests, complimentary WiFi, and private parking on site.
I often stay at Hotel Indigo which I also rate 5 stars. Fantastic room (mini suite) with everything you could possible need for a short or long stay. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly, and it’s genuine, not pasted on smiles like other hotels. Between Staybridge Suited and Hotel Indigo, I can’t think why you would want to stay anywhere else in Dundee.

After all of the positive reviews and nice pictures, Our friends and I traveling from the US paid for a King Bed suite. What a mistake! The rooms are way smaller than you might think. Great you have a kitchen (if you intend to use it) but the odd shape means you have absolutely nowhere to put your cases. This is fine if you are in Dundee for the night, but anyone staying longer should absolutely avoid. As for the King Bed.. it is a Queen. I took both issues up with management over 3 days... the first 2 I was told someone would get back to me, on day 3 we had had enough and spoke to the day manager after camping in reception. Her response was to tell me American friend having the same issue that "In the UK a King bed is a Queen" until I stepped in and told her that was absolute nonsense and she should not be lying to guests. I was finally offered a 1 bed suite. After looking at it, it was basically the same room as a "King" suite but with a false wall at the end of the bed, which actually made the room smaller.. The hotel is also shared with another hotel, so parking is a HUGE issue. We also tried to use the washers/dryers. Of the 3 washers and 3 dryers, only 1 washer was working and 2 dryers. The ONLY redeeming features of the hotel is that it is in walking distance to town and the breakfast..

Excellent place to stay, one of the best hotels we have stayed in for a while. The fact it was a small suite with its own well appointed kitchen was a bonus. There's a pantry shop near reception you can buy ready meals or use the room service (£5 charge) for some street food, breakfast panis recommended. Spacious and contemporary decorated it was a joy to stay in. We loved all the art work giving a nod to the buildings previous use as a mill. Staff were very friendly and courteous, room was spotless. Breakfast had a full range of hot and cold food as well as pastries and fruits. Highly recommend, 5 min walk from bus station, 10 min walk from train station. Limited parking at hotel which you have to pay for if leaving car overnight. Other than that I will definitely use next time I'm back in Dundee.

Great location near Dundee Waterfront with easy access to the city centre. The room was like a compact studio apartment with views of the River Tay, a well-equipped kitchenette (induction hob, microwave, dishwasher), and plenty of space. Staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was standard IHG quality. Parking is limited on-site, but there’s a public car park a few minutes’ walk away with free parking from 6 pm to 8 am. Good option for a comfortable, self-catered stay in Dundee.

Nestled about 2.5 miles northeast of Dundee city center, Finlathen Park is a delightful green oasis that offers a unique blend of natural beauty and recreational activities. The park is characterized by the charming Dighty Burn, which meanders through its landscape, creating picturesque views perfect for leisurely strolls or invigorating hikes. For those seeking adventure, there are well-maintained trails ideal for both families and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
Great Park for dog walking, follow the burn and see if you can spot the herrings. Has a small fitness area halfway, a small playpark and a skate area. Recently went with a small net down the embankment and netter a couple of water snails. Which we put back of course.

V&A Dundee is a major part of the waterfront redevelopment in Dundee, offering new routes for outdoor activities and connecting with the River Tay. The museum shares a building with Tatha Gallery and Newport Restaurant, providing panoramic views. Visitors can enjoy a unique Japanese-inspired afternoon tea at Tatha Bar & Kitchen, featuring a blend of Japanese and Scottish flavors. However, it's important to note that V&A Dundee is not dog-friendly unless the dog is an assistance animal.
This is a very impressive space - lovely and bright - plenty of places to to sit too. Lots to see - all with a real Scottish theme. Very quirky shop too, but the stuff on sale was really expensive. Some of it was themed to the various exhibitions, including one on gardening (which was not free to view). Very nice cafe too with great views. Also plenty of toilets - some as you go in (lockers too) and more on the exhibition floor. There are stairs and elevators - very wheelchair friendly space. Best of all- it’s free. You can leave a donation though. Well worth a visit.

An extraordinary modernist structure, both without and within. The unusual shape limits the amount of gallery space but the collections are still interesting. CRM’s oak room is an absolute jewel of interior design and is a must-visit attraction.

V&A Dundee is truly a design museum for all ages. We were so impressed with the dedicated free family resources—from the activity sheets and books to the drop-in creative zones. My children had an absolutely amazing experience with the hands-on drawing and arts activities provided. It's clear the V&A makes creativity integral to the whole visit, making it an inspiring and comfortable place for kids to learn and explore design through their own artwork!

We went in on 12th Oct in the morning and were greeted by friendly staff who gave me a brief description of the museum. Then we heard the announcement that there will be a guided tour at 11am so we just joined. The staff did an excellent job showing us around the exterior and the Scottish museum as well. We got to learn the design ideas and some of the behind the scene stories while it came to build the building. We had a great time. I think the staff is called Isabella or Elizabeth, sorry my bad with the names but she was excellent and very informative. It is a must visit place if you like design and architecture. I hope they will get more collections and exhibitions to fill in the space in the future.
Ellen L — Google review
The V&A was completely different super modern and right by the water, which already sets the vibe. The building looks mad from the outside, like it’s floating or something. Inside, everything felt sleek and design-focused, but still approachable. The exhibitions were creative and interactive in a way that didn’t feel too "museum-y" if that makes sense. It's one of those places that makes you see everyday stuff in a new way. Would go back, especially if there’s a new exhibition on.
Skylar M — Google review
Garden and Palestinian embroidery exhibition fantastic and stimulating. Good cafe and resources. Permanent exhibition of Scottish design seems poorly curated and haphazardly displayed

We were staying at the hotel next door and after a long drive the obvious choice for dinner was the Bell Tree. There were 5 of us. The waitress was very friendly but we were met with a list of things which were unavailable - prawns, steak and haggis. When the food arrived it was mediocre - the steak and ale pies were a little chewy on the meat front, the steak was barely medium cooked and one of the gravy boats was sent back as it was one, large, gelatinous mass. Desserts, in all fairness, were good. We were already booked in for breakfast - the continental. It was a disappointment - I think it was reasonable to expect a range of coffees but there was just coffee in a heated pot. The fruit platter consisted of three sad looking bananas and we think an orange... may have been a satsuma. The cereal choice was OK, the yoghurts were tasty. I am not a fan of the huge toaster machines - they seem to go from lukewarm to cremated with nothing in between. The staff were, again very friendly but we did see food being sent back to the kitchen on the evening we were there. Overall the place looks like it is overdue a refurbishment, clean and better lighting. We didn't eat there again because of our disappointment and whilst the hotel location was great if we returned we would be going out for breakfast/evening meals.

My wife and myself decided to try the Bell Tree after passing it numerous times over the years, we decided to give it a try. Saturday 14 June. I'm glad we did. The building itself is set back from the main A92 road at Pamurefield outside Dundee. The dining area was reasonable busy and clean. The staff the night that we dined there were friendly and attentive. Firstly asked if there was any allergies before ordering. Well done to the Staff. The food for a pub grub menu was hot and tasty and we never had to wait any longer than 10 minutes between courses. Give it a try. Definitely one of the best Greenking establishments we've been in.

Brilliant rustic, cosy pub and restaurant. Have been going here for years although don’t manage to get in regularly because it’s a bit out of the way. Stopped today for lunch and had a delicious meal. I started with squid while my partner had the bang bang cauliflower. Squid was excellent with the most delicious sauce and my girlfriend’s cauliflower was also fantastic, almost resembling vegetable pakoras. The starters were only 3.49 to add on with the lunch menu. For mains I had the lunch mini grill which came with gammon, chicken, sausage, chips, peas and a tomato. All of it was fantastic although special call out to the gammon steak which was very juicy and tasty. My girlfriend had the chicken and bacon ciabatta which she thoroughly enjoyed. Service was excellent with drinks coming within a minute or two. Food was also served very quickly. We didn’t have our dog with us but the bar part is dog friendly. They also serve pupacinos. Looking forward to my next visit.

Visited for lunch on our way back to Perth. Easy to get too, ample parking with disabled parking. Easy access to the restaurant and waited to be seated. A good amount of dishes on the menu and we were given ample time to look at what we wanted to order. The staff were fantastic and engaging, which makes a difference. We ordered our meal and for each course, it came out promptly with staff checking everything was okay for us. Food was good and nice size portions. A night off from cooking always is a bonus. Thank you for a lovely lunch and let the staff a good tip to reflect the service.

Unfortunately my 4 year old son waited an hour and a half for his meal. After asking a male member of staff if it would be much longer (we were finished our starters and main by this point) he said he would check but never came back to let us know. Had an amazing time at the Camperdown Elm in Dundee! The vibe was super chill and welcoming, and the staff were all really friendly and on the ball. Food was absolutely banging – fresh, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. There’s a great variety on the menu, including proper veggie and vegan options (not just an afterthought like some places). Drinks were spot on too, with a solid selection of local stuff. Massive shoutout to the team for the laughs and good vibes – especially when that was my card happened (you know who you are!). Absolutely brilliant place that welcomed us and our 5 year old for our evening meal. Gluten free menu second to none. A large cocktail and mocktail selection. Excellent staff. Absolutely recommend 100%

We Had a great meal here for lunch on the weekend. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was a good variety of cocktails. The food was great, though it was a bit annoying that only two turkey options were left on the menu. Overall, a wonderful experience.
Alisha G — Google review
Very busy venue on Saturday night so reservation definitely required. We sat upstairs and found the service from staff to be friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Starters (risotto and bread with oils) and main meals (duck and steak pie) were very tasty with decent sized portions and well cooked al dente vegetables. The puddings unfortunately were less impressive, apple and raspberry crumble and Affogato both coming with fairly cheap, tasteless vanilla ice cream; if this had used a creamier type it'd have made a lot of difference. Great selection of drinks available at the bar so had chance to test some whisky that don't often see on menus. The cocktail menu was good, my wife really enjoyed with the Monkey Gone Nuts seasonal special.

Very nice usually anyway but this was a special Tapas & wine evening with a guest chef and coordinating wine & food. Every course was explained and so was the accompanying wine. Excellent food, excellent service, lovely atmosphere. We look forward to their next adventure.

Excellent service from the team on a Saturday afternoon who accommodated us at short notice and served us quickly to allow one of our party to catch a train home. DOG FRIENDLY! Drinks, food, service and atmosphere were all very good. Polite staff who said please and thank you make such a refreshing change! Thank you, we will be back.

Slightly disappointed with the menu, just feel it's not quite as good as it used to be. That said I had the beef burger and my wife had the Halloumi burger which were both excellent. Definitely go back as it's a great atmosphere and a cracking wee place. Service can't be faulted either.

The bloody Mary was the best I've ever had. I was asked how spicy I wanted it and I opted for level 7 .... I should have went for a 5 ! It was spicy and delicious. French toast with bacon and maple syrup was amazing. Great atmosphere and dog friendly . Loved it .

It offers beautiful greenery and a peaceful atmosphere, making it perfect for picnics with friends and family. In addition to its scenic walking trails and picnic areas, the park features a children's playground and a wildlife center for added enjoyment.

Took the dog for a walk round the park on this occasion. It's a large park with plenty of space and just across the road from Templeton woods where you'll find other walks. Sad to see the council golf course has gone, replaced but meadow. There is a nice wee zoo on site and a large playback for younger children.

CamperTown Country Park is a really great spot for barbecues and family time. We’ve been there many times and always enjoyed the space and calm atmosphere. It’s nice that you can even drive inside the park — makes it easy to bring everything you need. The place feels peaceful and safe. Last time we went, it was really refreshing to sit and have a barbecue with family. There’s plenty of room, and it’s just a lovely place to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Really enjoyed the country park with the kids. Lots to do for my child with a disability and finally we did make it on boxing day which surprisingly was not at all busy. Most of the time the play parks can get very busy. Also there are electric car chargers in the parking lot if you do visit. Great addition.

Went with the girlfriend and her daughter, if the suns out it's a great way to spend the day or afternoon. Lots for kids to do, take some camping chairs, maybe even a cooler of cold colas.

This has to be one of the best play grounds in Scotland that I have ever come across. I was already good and then I was further extended a couple of years ago. There are plenty of parking and also toilet facilties available. You will also find plenty of seating in various forms. The setting within the Camperdown Park is also pretty incredible and to just wander through and take in. Top marks and a must visit if you're in Dundee and have young and even toddlers. We were there at 8.30am and it was getting cleaned and tidied up by the council cleaning which was good to see. All the activities the kids went on, 3 yr and 6 yr old was functioning perfectly. Great way to spend a few hours 👍

This was a great spot. Pretty barebones inside which is nice. Staff are friendly and fast. The food was great. Definitely coming back to dukes corner.

Good meal at Duke's, with succulent, juicy burgers and an excellent side of loaded fries. Good service, decent atmosphere (albeit a bit dim), good music! Bathrooms are upstairs - clean and well-maintained. There is also an accessible bathroom on the same level as the pub.

A good bar for big groups, with lots of space and big tables, and a selection of decent burgers, pizzas and chunky chips. Very loud music, but you can talk. The food is a bit pricey, but you can order from a QR code on the table and it comes quick.

Just conveniently round the corner from the Hilton Hotel. Smart redti-bar with superb selection of craft ales and nice burger / hotdog menu - especially enjoyed the IPA and jalapeño burger. Prices good and the service was particularly attentive and friendly. Excellent place, highly recommended

Really disappointed with the changes made for Saturday nights. Used to be such a great place to go for a dance and listen to the DJ, but there’s no longer space to dance and can barely hear the music. Still have to pay an entry fee though even though it’s no different to any other bar… a big shame that they’ve made these changes

We came and watched the six nations, Sexton's final match for Ireland! 🇮🇪 It was a really nice atmosphere and the staff were fun and friendly. We were led to believe by the dundee market manny that they had Cairn o' Mohr cider on tap..sadly they only have bottles. It's still good, though. The food menu is a bit 'meh'. Despite hungry tums, we were not persuaded by the usual fried food fare. 😑 It's costly and would no doubt leave us feeling uncomfortably dissatisfied.

The Flame Tree Cafe is a popular and bustling eatery located in the heart of Dundee, offering a variety of breakfast and lunch options such as sandwiches, sweet treats, and coffee. While not entirely vegan, the cafe has responded to customer demand by gradually increasing its selection of vegan menu items over time.
We were early for an afternoon music event at Caird Hall and found this little cafe which we chose because it was close and had excellent reviews. The menu has plenty of great choices and the prices very reasonable. It was early afternoon, the place was busy but we were able to get a table by the window. My wife declared that her smashed avocado toasty was the best she’d had anywhere and my tuna mayo sandwich was excellent. The bread tasty and very fresh. The coffee was really good too. Bear in mind it closes at 3pm. Highly recommended and we’ll be back next time we are in Dundee.

Really great coffee ☕️ however expected more of the bagel. Ordered a chicken mayo bagel 🥯 which I generally know as a hot meal however it came and the chicken mayo was ice cold which I really didn't enjoy or expect.

I took an impromptu trip to Dundee from Glasgow during the bank holiday and had a lovely day. This lovely day was made by sampling the infamous rainbow bagel! I had zero expectations, but the staff were lovely, my order was prompt and the bacon & cream cheese on the rainbow bagel was delicious :) recommend dropping in on your travels

Brilliant range for gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options! Options for alternative milks for a multitude of different drinks (milkshakes, coffees etc etc) Most of the sandwiches can be done with gluten free bread and there's an entire section of the menu dedicated to vegan options. Today I stopped by with my mother and got a beetroot ginger latte with soy milk which was LOVELY ! I also got a falafel, hummus, rocket and tomato sandwich on gluten free bread, and a side of the soup of the day (pea and mint). Genuinely a super tasty sandwich and my mother enjoyed her vegan cheese toastie (gf bread). There are also multiple options for vegan/gf baking at the front counter. The waiters are very nice also!

SCOTTISH CAFE / AUSSIE ROOTS! Stopped by today for a spot of lunch, been meaning to try & review this one for while! Light, airy & fresh decor, it’s very easy on the eye on arrival. Greeted quickly & sat by the window, once decided orders taken at the counter. I had the Coronation chicken ciabatta which was without doubt the best I have tasted & no sultanas as it should be! The wife had Spicy Chorizo Ciabatta & some Hash Brown Nuggets, all to the same very high standard. Finished off with a flat white & double macchiato, again top barista skills there, they were devine! Highly recommend giving them a try 😃

My wife and I visited for my 40th birthday meal on the 10th January. We both THOROUGHLY enjoyed our time. Such super atmosphere, kind, friendly attentive staff and the food was STUNNINGLY good. We then returned the next day for drinks with friends as we told them about the place. Thanks for such a great time, we have found our favourite go to place. I must repeat one more time, that the staff were really really lovely, I hope they get told how good and how appreciated they are. Many thanks indeed Alex Clarke

1st time visiting the fisherman's tavern broughty ferry. We booked a table in advance. Upon arrival we were greeted by the bar staff and shown to our table. 1st impressions are good with a classic tavern atmosphere. Order was taken quickly by attentive staff. Waited around 15 minutes for the food to arrive. All I can say is the food was absolute perfection. Perfect sized portions, not too much but enough to satisfy a healthy appetite. Very tasty home cooked meals with clearly high quality ingredients. All things considered, the quality, taste and service, it was exceptional value for money. Will definitely be back.

We had a great stay at the fisherman's tavern, the room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and a good shower. The staff are welcoming and very friendly, happy to give advice to visit the area, nothing seems too much trouble. On arrival, we were told about quiz night and were recommended to book a table for dinner. We had a brilliant evening with great food and friendly locals. We were expecting it to be noisy but it really was not. There is no car park as the hotel is in town, but we managed to park nearby. Nicely located for walks along the seafront, public transport to Dundee within a few minutes walk. Would go there again if we didn't live quite so far away!😉

St Andrews Brewing Co. Caird Hall is a spacious culinary complex located in the Dundee Waterfront area, offering a 70-seat contemporary Scottish restaurant, a wine bar, and a 20-tap beer bar featuring craft gin. The brewery has been making waves in the Scottish beer scene since its establishment in 2016 and prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients for their food and drinks.
It was a very quiet night so atmosphere is a little hard to judge, but we absolutely loved this place. I enjoy exploring new breweries and this didn’t disappoint. The beers (IPA, session IPA and pale) were delicious. The food was terrific. We had a lot of things to try and sample. The burger was slightly too salty for me but the flavours were delicious. The nachos were excellent.

Broughty Ferry Beach, located just 4 miles east of Dundee city center, is a renowned seaside destination known as The Jewel in Dundee's Crown. This Victorian-era waterfront spot offers a delightful mix of history, hospitality, shopping, and leisure activities for the whole family. The area features a blend of large shops and hillside houses alongside charming fisherman's cottages on the shoreline, creating a unique atmosphere.
Love this place it has a lovely laid back vibe and is abundant with inpendant shops, plenty of food, and drink options for a huge variety of people. It has that village feeling that made me feel at home straight away. The castle is a must to visit and photo op!! Then there is the beach talk about a bonus. Walking along this beach instantly throws into holiday mode it is lovely, and you don't have to walk on the sand because there is a pavement running alongside the beach. Then, after a short walk, there is a wonder little cafe that makes a mean latte extra shot coffee again fully accessible There you can sit and admire the view .

Great for swimming and sea glass hunting but it can of course get real busy in the summer! When the tide is fully out it's faaaar and if you swim be careful of strong currents with the tide, sea wead and rocks at points! You also have to walk quite far if you have a dog since most of it is a dog exclusion zone

Enormous beer garden, that was nowhere close to packed on a sunny Sunday afternoon. They have a really big menu with substantial veggy options. The jackfruit burger was very good, as were the loaded fries. Service was quick and friendly. Only minus is that the draft beer offerings are a bit limited, but they have an okay selection of bottles.

Went at 12:30pm on a Sunday so it was very quiet. Ordered fajitas (which were a bit too spicy for me) but still really good… and cheesy fries which were absolutely unreal. Best I’ve had! Our male sever was lovely, however I will say there was a young female server moaning loudly about having to serve people drinks which I would say is very unprofessional… maybe keep it for staff only areas next time.

Has changed its name now. We came here for a meal in a group of 6 and not one of us liked the food. The chips are stuck in the 90s still from when your gran or mum used to over cooked them to look black and they were horrible. Two of my friends both ordered the exact same dish for them to come out looking completely different. The food was so disappointing. On another note though the atmosphere was great, music was amazing and the garden outside seating area is amazing.

Went tonight for a birthday and was such a vibe, the music was amazing and the pub quiz was great fun! Service was slower, but it was packed, and the staff were really putting effort into making sure you got your food and drinks. It's a very artsy place being right next to the uni, with mostly students. Through the quiz, there were lots of inappropriate team names, so maybe not so Kid friendly, but I'm sure during the day it's fab 😊

Slessor Gardens is a lovely large green space in Dundee that's perfect for hosting big events. It's surrounded by smaller themed gardens, making it a great place for family fun.
Views of the River Tay and across Fife, calming water features, interactive games, cool sounds from the art installations, just a lovely spot to hang out. The coffee and food vans look nice but not open later i.e. 8pm.

A nice place. An open grass space is most of it, the other part is a series of little gardens. The gardens are pleasant, we were there in April so I suspect the blooms would be greater in the high summer. Some of the gardens are inspired by other parts of the world, though to be honest you wouldn't know that for most of them without reading the signs. The American one in particular, apparently that country is just grass?!! That aside they are nice spaces and on a good day a fine place to relax for a while. Dundee is certainly better for this space.
Drew Y — Google review
Good venue. Organisation and restrictions prevented us from going to the whole day. No entry allowed. No seats? I can't stand for hours at a time and I am sure others were the same so the venu lost out. Dundee is a super city and the whole place was a buzz with the people like me who had to restrict the time spent standing during the gig. Thousands of pounds spent outside slessor gardens, not so much inside. I feel sorry for the vendors.

It’s perfect for a quiet walk, a lunch break, or just sitting in the sun. It’s close to the V&A and the train station, so easy to get to. Sometimes it feels a bit empty when there’s no event, but during concerts or festivals, it comes alive. Clean, well-kept, and great for quick breathers in the city.

A large, mainstream book store with a good selection of books across different genres. It also has a coffee shop on the second floor, which is very atmospheric. The staff are polite and helpful, and complimented my necklace without rushing me. Overall, I had a lovely experience at Waterstones.
Great varied collection of anime goods despite being predominantly a book store. They also sell quality gift cards and wrapping paper and have a wee quiet cafe upstairs.

It's a haven for all book and stationary lovers. They also have such a great collection of puzzles and postcards. Lots of cute gift items too. And the cafe on top is so cozy! I come here like every weekend.

The best bookshop in Dundee. You can find lots of books from various genres in this shop. There is a cafe inside the bookshop and that's a good incentive to visit the shop. It would be great if Waterstones arrange the books according to their respective genre(like Blackwells where everything is nicely presented). Many books of various genres were found mixed. The Economics section was very small and it would be good if there are more books. The customer service was great and the shop was quite crowded when I visited shop (Cafe being the main reason).

Caffè Nero is a small, casual coffee shop with light dishes and specially blended hot and cold drinks. Staff are friendly and the member who brought me my coffee was very appreciative. The latte was excellent.
This has become my usual coffee spot when I'm out with my dog because the staff are always so sweet to her. On our most recent visit she actually punched one of the staff members and they were all still very nice to her. She said it was an accident and she is very sorry. I've attached the apology face she made after the incident. The coffee and cakes are nice too 😊

Online it clearly says the café closes at 5pm on Sundays, but actually it closes at 4pm. Every time if that barista with glasses works on a Sunday, he starts tidying up the place nearly an hour early as if it’s about to close. When a delivery driver comes in to pick up an order, you just make up an excuse about a ‘system issue’ and refuse to prepare it. I understand you want to leave on time or even a bit early, but doing this is really unprofessional. None of your colleagues who work on Sundays have ever made customers feel this uncomfortable

I ordered some goodies that were way too expensive to what it was. I had to wait 5 minutes for staff to notice I was there. By the time they did, they were bland, slow, and sloppy. Good (overpriced) food, bad service. Standard cafe. Not worth it.
Nico A — Google review
This use to be a decent caffe nero but has gone downhill lately, it might be a training issue but it's still put me off going to my favourite chain. Today I ordered a flat white it was made with cappuccino milk, it might seem nitpicky, but the texture of milk is what seperates barista made drinks from machine made. At the bottom of the drink was coffee grounds, which formed a slude. Barista burnt their hand on the side and spilled a little, which is fine I do it too, but didn't provide any napkins at all, and there wasn't avaliable with the sugars/sweetners/stirrers. Last time I visited my milk was was burnt, and had the same issue with grounds being at the bottom of the drink.

Coffee is excellent. The internet is very poor. It is cloud based needs to be upgraded on positioned in a better place. Radio signals do not travel through wood or At 2.5 gig. Drops out and verry slow. It is needed to understand how the radio patterns are.. Play sing it in a poor location does not provide accurate cover

Every time I go the queue is long with just one staff member serving, clearly need to recruit. Sometimes you do see the 2nd staff member but they are pretending to look busy cleaning tables at the back

The Tay Road Bridge offers stunning views of Dundee and its taller buildings, as well as the former jute mills and Dundee University. While the walk may not be the most peaceful due to regular traffic, the bridge provides spectacular views across the river and Fife's countryside. The 2.75-mile-long bridge crosses the Firth of Tay between Dundee and Wormit in Fife.
With the cost of 6 millions, this Tay Bridge was completed in 3.5 years and opened by the Queen’s mother in 18 August 1966. The stunning Tay bridge crosses the Firth of Tay. This impressive 1.4 miles long bridge between Dundee and Wormit is one of the longest road bridges in Europe. Today’s bridge is the second of two bridges built, the first was opened in 1878. After 18 months, December 1879 the central span collapsed during gale force winds and caused a major train accident, six train carriages carrying 75 passengers plunging into the ice cold water and unfortunately no one survived.

Magdalen Green, located in the West End of Dundee, offers a unique blend of student-inhabited tenements, upper-class houses, and sheltered housing. The area is known for its prosperity and safety. This green space provides a perfect setting for relaxation, picnics, and enjoying stunning views of the Tay River. It's a popular spot for families, friends, couples, and individuals to gather. During warmer months, visitors can also enjoy live music at the bandstand.
It is a beautiful, picturesque spot by the side of the River Tay. It is huge and a good place to enjoy cherry blossoms in Dundee.

BrewDog Dundee is a no-nonsense chain bar that specializes in craft beers from the Scottish brewery. In addition to their renowned beers, they also offer epic sourdough pizzas with a variety of gourmet toppings. The bar has a strong focus on traditional and modern Scottish cooking, ensuring visitors won't go hungry.
Very cool location! The building itself is impressive! We found the staff very helpful with suggestions, and as with every Brewdog you can ask for a taste before you decide. Kid friendly (up to certain times in the evening, check website for hours usually it’s up to 8pm or 9pm). Loads of board games you can borrow to play. Always dog friendly. Great selection of alcohol and none alcoholic drinks.

We were very disappointed by the new quiz app format, it's antisocial, no interaction and doesn't work for a group. The app didn't have sound so many questions were just a guess. Not available on TV so whole group could see questions. Very disappointed. The staff and food are great, so it's a pity we loved the traditional quiz with the chat, lets have that back

Not going to even give a rating because we didn't show up. Calling an hour before and telling me that our reservation is cancelled because their reservation system is not working, is not my problem! The host Amy, said that she would rather just call the first person and have a difficult conversation with me, who reserved a table ONE MONTH before, than someone else. What a great disappointment when we were really looking forward to a post work treat. This is not how you treat customers because you have issues with your system. If you had a booking for a group of 15 when I booked a table on May 27th is absolutely pathetic. Teach your staff better because I will definitely not be coming back to your establishment anymore nor recommend to others.

Riverside Nature Park is a delightful oasis nestled in the heart of Dundee, transforming an old landfill site into a vibrant natural haven. This park is not only home to stunning landscapes but also serves as a sanctuary for various native birds and insects. Birdwatchers will be thrilled by the chance to spot internationally significant species like skylarks and lapwings, especially from the dedicated bird hide overlooking Invergowrie Bay.
Great little park with views over Tay Estuary. I was hoping to see the Highland Coos, but apparently they all died off.

2025:August, Still wonderful. One of Dundee's gems. Red bartsia and yellow rattle to promote species diversity, yarrow, birds foot trefoil, hedge bedstraw, ragwort, knapweed , thistle, mugwort, teasel, viburnum, butterfly bush, blackthorn cross, plus the expected native Scottish trees. Fantastic biodiversity all with stunning views plus bird calls in the fields & from the estuary. 2018: Lovely place, masses of wildflowers, views to the Tay. Hard to remember this is all on top of landfill. It was a bit smelly when I went but more of farm than rubbish.
Felicity G — Google review
The Riverside Nature park is a hidden gem as long as you don't mind the odd whiff from the dump next door. Some nice new woodland, lots of meadow flowers in the summer and some great views up the tay. Perfect for a short hike.

You can see the Highland cow here! Lot of hares and birds. A little hilltop gives you a view of river tay. Different kinds of flower during summer. Car park avialable and there are some toilets, too. 5 km from city center takes about an hour walk. You could stop for nice restaurant eaiter on Perth road or there are some nice places along the river.

Very nice walk. A little disturbed by the compost dump (I think that’s what it was). It put off an unpleasant smell but plenty of walkways and a beautiful view.
Brody W — Google review
A very nice place for going for a walk, admiring beautiful views of the river Tay and bird watching. I'd give this place 5* if it wasn't for all the litter on the ground near the entrance to the reserve. I understand that this place is near a skip but there's no reason for all this rubbish lying around. The council should do more to look after such a beautiful nature reserve.

Dundee Waterfront Gardens is a picturesque spot to capture stunning sunsets, especially from the Green Circular at Discovery Point. The area offers breathtaking views of the Tay River, its two bridges, and iconic landmarks like V&A Dundee and RRS Discovery. Exploring the north bank of the River Tay provides historical significance with attractions such as HMS Unicorn and RRS Discovery.
The River Tay estuary near Dundee has been redeveloped into a lovely public garden and leisure park. The waterfront is more than a mile long. There are benches and chairs and table. So it is ideal for a picnic. The is a bar and cafeteria with ice cream and coffee. They have groomed niches with hedges which make private sitting spaces within the public space. There is a 'tin can' through which two people can talk. There are video games for youngsters. There are medicinal and other plants. There are playgrounds. There are wide open spaces to walk. Lots of people from all ages come there. The only thing that is not there is a public toilet. A lovely vista of the bridge across River Tay. And a scenic look accross the bay of Tayport town is wonderful. Please visit on your way to St. Andrews. It is 56 miles fro. Sterling by road. There are trains as well which take an hour and a half.

Strange little place which comes up at you out of nowhere. It has speakers in the metal part which blare a variety of ocean based sounds at you, from barge horns to whale sounds. The structures in that area are all metal which flowing which is meant to remind if the see (I think). There is also some screens with images from the past, all sea/harbour themed. The little fountains are cool, the size of the spray varies in sequence and there are lights under them, which will be more prominent at night. The garden part seems to be apeing a sand dune area. Parts of it are arty and perhaps went above my head, but it's for sure a nice are to spend half an hour in.

Lovely hotel. Very modern and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a family room two king size beds. Room was nicely decorated and the bathroom had a great shower. In all our travels around Scotland this was the best priced room. Breakfast is served from 6am which was perfect as we had to head back to Edinburgh airport. We always have a wonderful experience at the Hampton by Hilton in Dundee! From the moment we arrive, the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. A special mention to Simon, the reservations manager, who is always so helpful whenever we’re booking—he goes above and beyond to ensure everything is perfect for our stay. The rooms are spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and comfortable, making for a great night’s sleep. Breakfast is an absolute treat, with a delicious selection to start the day off right. Whether it’s for business or leisure, this hotel never disappoints. Highly recommended!

I'd like to mention the pretty lady at the reception (Riana) was very helpful and kind. She made sure all our needs are met and we were been taken care of through out our stay. The hotel is situated in a convenient place and all amenities were within few mins away. I highly recommend this place and will plan for another stay soon 👍

Easy check-in. Location is convenient. Lidl is right opposite and tesco is around the corner if you need anything. The room was spacious and quiet. We had our room cleaned every day during our stay but the bodywash was never filled. We got it sorted on our own so it wasn’t much of a bother. Gym room was a bit small but okay. Pretty quiet when we went. Breakfast was okay. Some items were cold and hard. Overall, it was a nice stay.

Excellent hotel and had a great stay. Located just on the edge of the LEZ zone, its a great location. The carpark turning comes very quickly off the roundabout, so something to be aware of. On arrival, staff were very friendly and helpful, parking a little pricey but was easier to pay in the hotel rather than on the app. Rooms are lovely and clean. The food choice is a little limited but its a good price and very nice. Overall would stay here again and would recommend

However, the staff are highly praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. The hotel's proximity to Dundee Train Station makes it easily accessible, and guests can enjoy beautiful views in the morning sunshine while having breakfast.
I stayed in this hotel in April and I had the most outstanding, above and beyond service, from a lovely lady called Lauren. She was attentive, kind and helped me make sure my stay was special and memorable. The hotel itself is very well situated and some rooms have a view like my picture here. Honestly such a lovely stay and Lauren was a huge part of why it was so great. I hope all your staff are like her.

My wife and I stayed here for a night in May 2025. I chose this hotel for two main reasons, the location and the price. Both were perfect for us. The room was a nice size, it was clean, it had a bath and a tay view. All in all a very good room for the price. Only negative was a lack of a fridge. If you're looking for a good value hotel in Dundee this one will do the job very nicely.

Premier Inn Dundee was an unexpected highlight during our Scotland trip. The facilities are modern and clean and nicely located just at the seaside. Only a very short walk to the RRS Discovery - one of the most prominent sights in Dundee. The restaurant was also quite good and service was attentive and helpful so we highly recommend staying here when you are in the area.

Lovely location on the quayside and very handy for everything in the city. Friendly and welcoming staff throughout. However, the rooms are tired! Also the pillows were not clean and I found hairs, and crumbs, in the bathroom and bedroom area.

Arriving at the train station after 7 hours travelling, thankfully 3 minutes later we were in a beautifully air conditioned (it was during the early summer heat wave 2025) reception being checked in by a charming receptionist. Room was exactly as expected and the ac was so cold we turned it off. Off to the Beefeater later. I'll update later.

Checked in, entered room and could see straight away this is a tired tatty hotel. Not clean, chewing gum on carpet, beetles crawling on the floor, mould in bathroom, extract fan filthy, second key card didn't work, paintwork decaying, dirty kettle, air con useless, no outlet to charge toothbrush, so off to reception. Key cards failed on another two occasions, staff said they are a nightmare, lots of issues with keys. Cleaner had to let us in to our room. It's a shower over the bath, so it's a bit of a climb in and out - and the plughole is partially blocked so your feet are in dirty water. Room very stuffy and aircon not much use. Corridor smells of sweaty feet, not nice. Pillows had strange yellow stains on, not very nice. Chap I spoke to agreed, hotel is overdue an upgrade, but no excuse for filthy room. Showed him pics and he was not surprised - gave me a card to contact customer services, which I will do. Not much sleep, my hip hurt in the morning and today we woke at 5.15am - could not wait to get out, but coach to airport booked for 10am. Paid a lot of money for this, travelled a long way, and haven't been this disappointed since we stayed at the Bristol Premier which was awful too. Compare this to the Coventry Earlsdon Park Hotel - I am back there soon - it's a different world, so sad spoiled our trip. If you can get it for £30 a night great, but if you Paid as much as us - don't!

The hotel boasts a modern downstairs bar and a vibrant restaurant named after young mill worker Daisy Tasker.
Absolutely fantastic hotel, couldn't have asked for better. We stayed here for one night out two daughters 5 and 8 and we all had the best possible stay. The room, staff and breakfast were all absolutely fantastic and the only downside was that we didn't stay longer. We will definitely be back. 👏🏼

Overall a lovely hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel is well kept and clean, with great products in the bathrooms, a lovely lobby bar (again with great staff). The single complaint was the bed was very VERY firm, while the pillows were thin. Everyone has varied preferences, so it may be up you alley, but I feel a massage in my future. That said, I'd still recommend it as a great place to stay, but see if you can gain a bedding upgrade.

Lovely looking building. Oddly positioned pole as entered room. Lovely room and shower. Decent bed. Good blackout curtains. Price seems to fluctuate quite dramatically 120 now to 230 next July. Shame as I would've liked to have stayed here again.

Room 325 for 3 nights Good sized room with comfortable bed, nice linen and pillows. It was a little on the gloomy side and one window lacked a screening blind. There was no view to speak of. The bathroom was large and comfortable with good shower and great bath. It was slightly let down by the lighting, the shaving mirror was not working as it should ( you couldn’t get it to stay vertical) and the shower heads needed a clean so all the water outlets worked properly. Breakfast was somewhat disappointing. I liked the fresh fruit and local cheeses and the fig and feta bruschetta was lovely but the ‘hot’ food buffet was anything but… The coffee was nice from the machine, but the drip tray at one point was overflowing and a tea towel had been placed underneath it rather than it being emptied… The service seemed a bit chaotic, which to my observations might be solved with a bit of staff training perhaps…

In mid-August, I booked this hotel for work and prepaid in advance. Due to a flight delay, I arrived at 1 a.m. Upon arrival, the front desk lady told me that the room I had reserved was no longer available due to my late arrival. I was shocked and frustrated. At 1 a.m., where could I go? How could they sell my prepaid room to someone else? She called the head waiter, who initially said they couldn't provide a room. After much discussion and intense dissatisfaction, they finally found a room, but it was almost 2 a.m. The next day, I had to get up early and was in a hurry to leave. I forgot my phone charger in the room. By the time I remembered, I had already arrived at Edinburgh Airport. I called the front desk several times over the next two days, asking them to ask housekeeping if they had seen it. They said they would contact housekeeping and call me back, but they never did. My phone charger was gone. Objectively speaking, the hotel's hardware facilities are fine, but the service level and attitude are really unacceptable. I hope that the hotel and other people who are planning to stay here will take this as a warning.

Nice room. Comfy bed. Lovely shower room. Tasty breakfast. Not the nicest of locations, but a stones throw from the centre of Dundee which is looking fantastic these days. But it did have a nice view from the room.
Jon C — Google review
Surprising nice hotel. Lobby was clean and elegant. Room was clean with some wear and tear showing. Location is awkward but it suited our plans - that’s why we chose it. Did not spend time in Dundee - just stopped here overnight. Probably would pick a b&b near St Andrew’s next time.

43Best Western Queens Dundee Hotel

Hotel
Best Western Queens Hotel is a great choice for travelers in Dundee. The hotel is situated in a central part of the city and offers free Wi-Fi in all rooms. The staff are very friendly and willing to help, making it ideal for pre-theatre dinners or just a short break. The breakfast is also good value for money.
The Queens Hotel Dundee stands as a remarkable testament to the rich history and cultural heritage of Dundee. This sacred hotel has witnessed countless moments of joy, celebration, and comfort, making it a cherished landmark in the city. Its architectural beauty and historical significance reflect the enduring legacy of Dundee, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its storied past. The hotel's presence not only enriches the cityscape but also serves as a beacon of hospitality and tradition. It is truly a place where the spirit of Dundee's past lives on in every corner and memory.

The service was really slow. Our group was given the wrong room keys. At breakfast, the items ran out, and the service was slow. The pastries were dry and from the previous day. Dinner was a farce in itself. The service took ages and was slow. The food was definitely not praiseworthy. The rooms were freezing cold, tv didn't work either etc. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone."
Nina E — Google review
The hotel is historic, which is a plus, but is a little tired and could do with some updating. My room was clean and I liked the fact it had a double aspect and a nice view over the Tay. I could not get the WiFi to work but was later informed that I should ignore the seemingly obvious 'guests' WiFi with the code provided with the key card, and use the 'devices' one with a separate code instead. The location is good, being a short walk from the station, university and V&A museum. I did not try the food to give a view, as the hotel was hosting a wedding so had closed the restaurant or food supply to other guests.

3 nights stay from 25th June 2025. We would never stay at this hotel again. This hotel is very expensive for the service provided, went out for the day and on our return at 6pm room had not been cleaned, going out to dinner we asked at reception for the room to be cleaned, very rude receptionist informed us it couldn’t be cleaned as there was no housekeeping until the next day, she did offer us fresh towels, when we returned she said the room had been cleaned, all they had done was throw the quilt over the bed and put fresh towels in, no cleaning done whatsoever. Breakfast is inedible, dry, cold and tasteless, continental meat looked like it had been there for a week, coffee and tea lukewarm and bitter, very rude and unhelpful staff.
Lesley B — Google review
I had a party night here with my work. The venue decor is dated and looks like something out of the 60s. The food...well it's hard to describe but I still have nightmares about the slop they served us. Never again.
Gav J — Google review
I booked this hotel 13 months ago for a friends wedding. Got a phone call from the hotel saying they were overbooked 2 weeks before the wedding. Trying to farm us out to another hotel saying you can still park here and we'll cover the cost of taxi's. After speaking to the acting general manager who mumbled, humphed and hawed throughout the conversation said he could not do anything. Found out on the wedding day the same thing happened with the Best Man the grooms brother. We made other arrangements after cancelling our room which was in another hotel now. On arrival at the hotel we went to reception saying we were there for a wedding, receptionist did not even look up just grunted upstairs Glamis room. Went up the stairs to be sent back down as we were a bit early. Went to the bar, no barman visible (this was 1pm) Grumpy troll from reception comes through to serve us. Half way through the day thier bar ran out of C02 gas so no draught beer/lager. I would not usually post a bad review only positive. For a Grand Hotel it need's to have properly trained staff and manage it's bookings and inventory better. Visited May 31st 2025 I've still waiting for an apology. But they only seem to comment/ reply to those who post positive reviews. I would look for other lodgings that actually have customer service as the Queen's Hotel is severely lacking in several areas. I would have given no stars but there is no option for that.

The ibis budget Dundee Camperdown is conveniently located near the Camperdown Wildlife Centre, making it a great choice for animal lovers. While dogs are not allowed in the zoo, they can enjoy the surrounding country park. The hotel offers comfortable rooms and a continental breakfast. Guests appreciate the friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Despite some minor issues with room allocation, guests find the hotel to be good value for money and would consider staying again in the future.
Really great ! Staff really nice and kind The room was nice and clean We stayed for 5 days and the staff came every day around noon to see if we needed anything We had wifi, TV The only "inconvenient" we had was that we had to open the window the evening when we'd came back to the room but it's was nothing bothering
Zehyun ( — Google review
Great wee budget priced hotel in a very handy spot right next to the main road through Dundee. Staff were helpful, friendly and very accommodating of some last minute issues. Rooms are fairly basic and possibly a bit dated but spacious and comfortable for a weary traveller. Very handy, well priced and perfect for our needs. Can't fault it.
James L — Google review
The room we were given was an accessible room with 2 single beds, the carpets were grubby and the room was cold, the beds were very small. In the early hours of the morning we were wakened by a green light flashing in the room which was the emergency light. We went to reception which is meant to be manned 24/7 and the buzzer was sounding and no one there.we called the number on the desk and a young girl came in and tried to turn it off, but couldn't, she did offer us a different room which was absolutely freezing and as this was 4 am we didn't get much sleep, and woken up by a lorry delivery just after 7. Also anyone could have walked into the building as there was no security system in place.
Donald H — Google review
Staff are lovely, location is great, the road into needs work and the room I was in I felt really let the place down. So needs a makeover, furniture is shabby, carpets totally worn looking, the bath had issues that there was a big sticker trying to hide, it was grubby though. Such a shame as it could be great. On the plus side, bed was super comfy, only got 2 pillows though.
Allison M — Google review
the single beds in the twin rooms are very narrow, almost as wide as my shoulders making it difficult to manoeuvre without falling out of bed, would of clipped the 2 together but not possible. breakfast terrible value for money, use the m&s on the garage forecourt nearby, you'll get more bang for your buck
Garry — Google review
Delivers what you expect from a budget ibis. Spacious rooms which are well maintained, neat and tidy. Has basic amenities and air-conditioning. Nothing fancy but worth every penny you pay. Has got ample parking space and a gas station nearby.
George F — Google review
This is not a hotel any more. It is a homeless hostel. The first room we were given stunk to High heaven. We asked to be moved immediately and were, to a room that didn't stink quite as much. It's great that homeless people have somewhere nice to stay, we met a couple of them and they were lovely, I've been homeless myself in the past so in no way is this a patronising or demeaning post. But don't advertise it as a 'budget' or any other kind of hotel, and expect people to pay over £100 per night. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. P.S. The staff were also lovely and very accommodating, it's not their fault the company puts them in this position. IBIS are the fraudsters here, not the staff.
Andy M — Google review
It was warm, comfortable, convenient, relatively clean and everything worked, so as I was travelling alone and staying for one night only, it met all my needs. The clue is in the name though - "budget" (though it perhaps £71 incl. breakfast was a little more than I'd expect to pay for such accommodation). Definitely "no frills" - no fancy decor or artworks on the walls. Plain walls, minimalist furnishings, (I think) no room service and no facility to eat. Decor, carpets etc looked tired and in need of updating. I'd advise anyone thinking of booking here not to bother with "breakfast". I didn't check the details when I booked, so expected there would be a kitchen and dining room on the premises and cooked, cereal etc options. I was wrong. "Breakfast" consisted of a bag containing a croissant, un pain au chocolat, a cereal bar, a carton of juice drink (not even pure juice) and a tiny pot of apricot jam. I paid £9 for that, which, admittedly, is cheap for a breakfast, but I probably could have assembled it myself for a couple of quid had I stopped off at the big Tesco store I passed en route. Having said all that, I'd consider staying again for a night, maybe two, as it's warm and comfy, and the location is handy, being right next to the main route in and out of Dundee. I wouldn't bring my wife though. She has higher standards than me and would not appreciate this venue. And I definitely would not opt for breakfast!

We very much enjoyed our stay and recommend Ashley House as the perfect place to stay on a visit to Dundee. A great location in Broughty Ferry and a gateway to exploring coastal Angus. We were comfortable, very well fed and entertained at breakfast by the effervescent host. A very welcoming small guest house.

Lovely stay at Ashley House! Darren the host was very friendly and cooked us an amazing breakfast and unlimited coffee! Our room was huge and spotless. Beds were very comfortable. Very close to the castle and pubs and shops. We will definitely be back !! Thanks for a great stay ☺️

Stayed here for 3 nights 18th-20th July my husband myself and our little border terrier, our bedroom had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, our double bed had lovely crisp fresh sheets and pillows for a lovely nights sleep the whole room was spotlessly clean. Ashley house is 10mins from Castle, beach and shops if you have your car with you you can park in Darrens big driveway. Would stay here the next time we come to Broughty Ferry its almost home from home. well done Darren

We enjoyed our stay at Ashley House whilst in Dundee visiting our son. Darren and Margaret were very welcoming and made us and our dogs feel at home. Our room was large, very comfortable and clean. The hotel is walking distance from the beach, perfect for the early morning dog walks. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast cooked by Darren. We look forward to staying again later in the year.

Darren could not have been a better host for our one night stay. All bases covered and a lovely breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay at Ashley House Guest House. It was hard to find on the road at first, but if you look around while at the light you can see the entrance before you pass it. Our hosts went above and beyond to make us comfortable and help us feel welcome. I was fighting morning sickness in a new pregnancy and they provided herbal teas to help with my nausea. Darrin also packaged my breakfast for me to nibble on slowly after I struggled with eating in the morning. We loved how comfortable the rooms are, the location is close to much to do only a couple blocks down the road, and we took time to see local sights before leaving. Will stay here again if we travel back in future.

Highly recommend Ashley House, Darren and Margaret are superb hosts. Very very clean, excellent breakfast. Lovely rooms. Location is excellent, close to shops, restaurants, bus stop and train station. Our 3rd stay and will definitely be back. The perfect B&B.
George M — Google review
This is exactly what a good B & B should be. Comfy, quiet rooms that make you feel instantly at home and relaxed; a great host, Darren, a real friendly chatty character; and tasty breakfast. The house is just a short walk from Broughty ferry, a lovely little town with a good choice of places for a coffee or a meal. We will definitely stay again if we are back in the area.

Great little guest house and great breakfast. Lovely view of the bay and the staff are more than helpful. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

The heating was not working the first night and I had to go to Tesco to buy a heater, the toilet seat was broken, there were cracks in the ceiling and walls, bed was uncomfortable and the person booking me in said use two duvets due to the condition of the mattress. This place needs some serious renovation (or demolition).
Syed M — Google review
Stayed here whilst working. First week, the pillow cases smelt like sweat so had to ask for clean ones. The second week in a different room, the bedsheet had blood stains on it! Old food behind furniture and mouldy bathroom! Would not recommend
Helen F — Google review
Photos show a better image then what reality shows. Located in a quiet residential area. Manager owner initially not present on our arrival at the stated time. After a terse series of SMS messages he arrived and was both pleasant and helpful. Room had some issues with power but solved immediately. Off street parking available. No breakfast despite advertised as a B&B! Found that strange. Library is a pile of magazines by the front door. Lounge is really more their family room. Needs some very simple TLC like broken garden seat either replace broken rail or throw away! Lots of weeds that could be pulled out in under 30mins just bsdic housekeeping would make a far better initial visual appearance.
Christopher P — Google review
Very reasonably priced, clean accommodation. Quiet airy room with en suite shower and toilet. Everything worked including the wifi and I got a good night's sleep. No breakfast available.
