I appreciated being able to check in very early, which was extremely helpful after a long journey. The staff member who assisted with printing and the check-in process was courteous and efficient, and I was also grateful for the luggage storage service.
However, several aspects of the stay fell short of expectations given the price point. The room, while functional, was not cleaned to a satisfactory standard. There was a noticeable odor on the bed linen and pillows, which made me question whether they had been properly laundered. Although I placed the designated card on the bed to request a linen change, I’m doubtful that this was done. Housekeeping also overlooked refilling the shower gel upon my arrival, which I had to request the same day.
Additionally, the bathroom showed signs of neglect. A deep clean, including the use of bleach and attention to the windows and drain, would go a long way in removing soap scum and unpleasant odors. The daily replacement of slippers and towels was appreciated, but it didn’t make up for the overall lack of cleanliness.
The included breakfast was disappointing. Over the course of my 6-night stay, the menu did not change at all. The lack of variety made it unappealing and felt like poor value for money.
Another issue was the availability of umbrellas. While I was able to borrow one on several occasions, there were times—especially during heavy rain—when none were available. On one occasion, I waited in the lobby for 30–45 minutes for assistance or an alternative, but no staff offered a solution. After waiting an additional two hours in my room, I ultimately had to go out in the rain. It would be wise to stock more umbrellas or even include one in each room, particularly during the rainy season.
Lastly, I believe the hotel could enhance the guest experience by offering more support for tourists, such as recommendations, maps, or itinerary assistance for local attractions and eateries.
Overall, while the location is convenient, the experience did not justify the high price. I felt I was paying for the location rather than the quality of service or facilities. With improved housekeeping, breakfast variety, and guest support, the hotel has the potential to offer a much more satisfying stay.
