Teppanyaki restaurant
Japanese steakhouse
Crown Super Deluxe is a vibrant teppanyaki restaurant that transports diners to a nostalgic 60s Tokyo with its kitschy decor featuring purple carpets and gold velvet chairs. This culinary gem from the Black Sheep group pays homage to the flamboyant cooking style popularized by Rocky Aoki, where chefs skillfully prepare premium meats and seafood on an iron griddle.
Had a very enjoyable dinner, served by Chef Willie. We had the Super Dinner Set, loved the Japanese tomato with salt. Aussie Wagyu Steak was cooked just right, juicy and tender. The favourite though is our interaction with Chef. Will visit again for sure.

Saturday lunch here, was good service and food, enjoyed the Executive Lunch set. Had the rib eye option. Atmosphere was lacking with no other person at restaurant expect us, so not as welcoming. Enjoyed the lunch, and the service was friendly. The washroom had fun wallpaper, quite different from the contemporary decor outside. Downsides was the emptiness, and the hand towels smelled of rancid oil. Likely from being laid out for so long and the open kitchen style. The restaurant gave us a small bottle of house sake to celebrate the birthday lunch, on the house :)
Keith ( — Google review
What a disappointing dining experience that completely ruined our weekend! We were thrilled to see the return of the black series and decided to try Crown Super Deluxe for a teppanyaki lunch. We've always been loyal fans of every Black Sheep restaurant, but this time it turned into a nightmare. To begin with, we were initially seated in the middle at the teppanyaki bar. However, the server, Sony, kept insisting that we move to the edge, even though we were the first group to arrive. When we asked Sony for the reason, she mentioned that there would be other customers joining us. However, in the end, another group of 2 + 2 arrived, and it wouldn't have affected the seating arrangement if we had remained in the middle, as there were enough seats on the side. I must mention that Sony's attitude wasn't sincere, and she seemed annoyed when responding to us. To make matters worse, we sat there for 30 minutes without anyone asking us for drink orders. Our water glasses remained empty the whole time, even after we asked three different staff members, including the server, chef, and receptionist. We had to remind them three times that we were ready for our food. It's worth noting that they kept assuming we were waiting for a friend, even though we had already mentioned twice that our friend wasn't coming. But even if we were waiting for someone else, we should still deserve a glass of water at the very least, right? The food was just alright, but it didn't live up to the standard we expected, especially considering it was during the black series promotion. When we asked the chef in the middle if we could have more fried garlic, he bluntly rejected our request, saying it wasn't possible. We didn't mind paying extra for it, but it was shocking to receive a "no" from a high-end hospitality restaurant group, especially when we could clearly see there was plenty of garlic available on the plate. All in all, if you decide to dine at this restaurant, especially during the black series period, please be prepared for the worst. I have to admit that the service level, which has always been something I appreciated from the Black Sheep Group, has drastically dropped. It feels like paying the price of a 5-star hotel but receiving the quality of a 3-star hotel. Good luck with your business, but I can assure you that neither my friends nor I will be visiting again. Thank you for the memories of better times!

Food & services were perfect. You will feel very well taken care of from the moment you step into the restaurant. Food was amazing & the chef was friendly. The whisky lounge was a good way to end the meal, enjoy a whisky & some dessert. Great place for special occasion!
Mercury S — Google review
We had a really fun experience. Good vibes and service. We ordered the deluxe set and every dish was great. I would also say though that the experience is probably overpriced, so I don't think I would go back again. For that amount of money I expect something a bit more special. Although the wine was good, it was priced excessively for what it was, and the pours were shockingly small. That said, it you have money to spare, it is definitely fun.

Food is nice, wonderful service and environment. The surprise birthday celebration for me was v well prepared, with some staff magic entertainment provided too. Marvelous experience. Usually only open for dinners but due to covid measures currently they are opened for lunch appointments. Price and menu may refer to my photos.

I enjoyed the lunch. The staff were so friendly and considerate (reception was a bit off though as it took some time to take me to my seat). As I’m pregnant, they changed complimentary drink and two dishes for me. We tried executive lunch (HKD 480 to 780 per head depending on which beef you order). We ordered the wagyu beef which my friend really likes while I found it a bit oily and less tender as I do well-done (troublesome pregnant woman). I really like the veggie which are all from Japan, esp the tomato. I didn’t try coffee or desserts as I’m pretty full. Saw other ppl’s comments though. Maybe not a bad thing that I missed it. Will come back again with my husband to thank their curtesy and support the business.

Excellent experience here. American style renovation, Japanese cuisine. Fresh sashimi, great steak. After dinner, you will be leading to Whiskey room to enjoy dessert and whiskey, as well as Magician entertainment. Sure will come back again

Teppanyaki restaurant
I M Teppanyaki & Wine is a one-star newcomer that offers theatrical cooking and an extensive wine list. Unlike traditional teppanyaki restaurants, this Michelin-starred establishment focuses on the quality of its ingredients rather than flashy gimmicks. Head chef Lawrence Mok relocated the restaurant to Tin Hau in 2021, maintaining the same high-quality menu featuring daily flown-in seafood from Japan and France.
Go earlier to enjoy a quiet and relaxing dining session. I M Special Lunch set is great but I would say the other sets are more value for money. Ingredients are fresh and service is good.
Joe ( — Google review
Overall was a sensational experience with chef cooking in front of you with all the fresh and top ingredients. Food ingredients were carefully selected and very well handled. The skin with scale of fish fillet has been deep fried to such a crispy piece was the most impressive one. The seafood was definitely more spectacular to enjoy than the beef. The abalone came with a scrumptious source. The beef was up to expectations but the thin slides were a bit overpowered by the garlic and spring onion. The servers and cook were all very attentive. A great experience overall. Definitely worth going for lunch too.
Joan L — Google review
A lovely restaurant with great food and a nice atmosphere. It would be ideal if they could clear our plates after we're done eating instead of taking it in the middle of the talk.
Tinnie W — Google review
No fancy techniques or performance, just great quality ingredients which were cooked to perfection. We went there for my birthday celebration and we thoroughly enjoyed every dish. The menu was well thought through with a nice balance of flavours. Only thing is that the fried rice was a bit too dry and came with a tad too much sergestid shrimps which made the texture too crunchy. I would personally prefer the rice to be a little bit more moist. Or better if it comes with a little bit of char siu.
Lawrence T — Google review
I M Teppanyaki and Wine is the only teppanyaki restaurant in Hong Kong with a Michelin star. Its new location at Tin Hau is spacious and well ventilated. Reservations must be made in advance with a deposit of $300/person fully prepaid. Servers are polite. Corkage is not cheap at HK$500/bottle for 720ml sake or 750ml wine, but is still more reasonable than the markup on the wine list. There are two set menus available for dinner, namely the 10-course “Omakase – Chef’s Recommendation” (HK$2,280/person) and the 8-course “I M Tasting Menu” (HK$1,800/person). Highlight of the tasting menu is the flavorful and bouncy Hokkaido Abalone with Liver Sauce. While the essence of teppanyaki is allowing guests to enjoy the chef’s culinary skills and the dishes he freshly cooks on the hot grill, half of the meal is prepared somewhere else. It is quite shocking to witness the chef’s contribution to the “Amadai Fish with Sea Urchin Cream Sauce” to be simply plating. Food is mostly lukewarm. Expectation is naturally higher for that price level. Honestly, with food being mostly lukewarm, not sure how the so-called teppanyaki specialist is able to maintain its Michelin star for 8 years.
XO H — Google review
warm cozy restaurant with very good service and food quality. went for the lunch set and the abalone was very fresh, the fish(forgot the name) was very special - the scales are not removed from the fish fillet, it was fried till its golden and super crispy, it was served with some herbs and pumpkin puree and they matched perfectly, i normally dont eat fish but i end up finishing the dish! usually in such high-end restaurant, the portions are relatively small. but i was surprised the lunch set portion was quite generous and definitely enough for a grown man. would be even nicer if the set include both coffee and ice cream!! was a touch decision to choose from - sesame/green tea ice cream/ yuzu sorbet/ hot coffee.
Riley K — Google review
Was in town over the weekend and decided to visit this Michelin starred restaurant. Walked in and saw Chef Mok but werent smiled or greeted upon. Got ushered to our reserved seats and made our order with the lady manager, i suppose. A male chef then came over and started cooking our dinner with zero smiles and no interaction. Nonetheless we had a small talk with the lady manager. Food was definitely good, however entire dining experience could have been much lovelier with better customer touch.
K — Google review
Was recommended by a friend who was really into wine, and its definitely a place for wine drinkers... Unfortunately I am not into wine, but just wanted a place for good teppanyaki.. Wasn't disappointed with the food at all... Service was also excellent and intimate with only around 20 seats. Only downside was the price, while reasonable for the amount of food and quality, was still relatively expensive.

Lan Kwai Fong is a historic district in Hong Kong, featuring narrow streets and alleys filled with a vibrant array of restaurants, nightclubs, and bars. The area is known for its diverse culinary scene, offering everything from traditional Chinese baos with a modern twist to famous egg waffles. It's a popular spot for white-collar workers to unwind after work and enjoy the bustling nightlife.
The best night life of HK. Lots of good club and vibrant street. Weekends gets wild here. Some clubs take entry fee as well. The clubs in weekends are open till 5 am in the morning taxi amd night train are available then
Kazi H — Google review
Lan Kwai Fong (LKF) is a vibrant nightlife district in Central Hong Kong, renowned for its energetic atmosphere and diverse entertainment options. Despite its compact size, this L-shaped area, formed by Lan Kwai Fong and D’Aguilar Street, is densely packed with over 90 bars, restaurants, and clubs, offering a range of experiences from upscale wine pairings to lively nightclubs. The district’s limited space contributes to its bustling ambiance, especially during weekends and holidays when crowds gather to enjoy the lively scene. While the area can become quite crowded, the high energy and variety of venues make it a popular spot for both locals and tourists seeking a dynamic night out. Lan Kwai Fong is easily accessible via public transportation, with the Central MTR station nearby, making it a convenient destination for those looking to experience Hong Kong’s nightlife. Whether you’re interested in dancing the night away, enjoying live music, or simply soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, LKF offers a memorable experience in the heart of the city.
Anh P — Google review
An over rated place made famous by the movie of the same name, except that the club is not here. Most bars and drinking establishments are not open until at least 5pm. But you can still drop by to admire the unique upslope landscape and the activities of this fast paced society, all happening in front of your eyes.
Lucas T — Google review
Well this used to be the very happening place in Hong Kong, especially after the movies about the nightlife in HongKong. However my HK friend told me it is not as happening as before Covid, everything changed and it is not as crowded as I expected when I visited, not sure as it is during the weekend or what. They have a lot of bars there, you can slowly walk around the area and find your favourite, but it is not that big maybe around 30mins walking? Overall it is not bad for a place to get a drink and some bar hopping as they are a lot of bars nearby
Neo — Google review
The clubbing street of HK. very noisy and smelly with cigarette smoke. But I understand some people like it. If you like party, noise of 10000db, people on the streets poaching you to enter their pub, then ok sure. I would say it’s not as fun as what it is depicted on social media.
Seah H — Google review
Nice atmosphere to the area with lots of choices for food and drinks.
Joseph C — Google review
it was unforgettable, halloween there were a lot of people😻🤪😅 🤩🥳🤯 but everything is very well thought out, there was a lot of police, they made corridors and kept order. All the bars are decorated thematically, in general it's fun and very active. Be sure to visit on the weekend, the impressions will remain for life.😎
Galina — Google review
Lovely street to be at on s weekend night. Was here on a Saturday night celebrating Halloween and the vibe was amazing! The street was packed and people dressed beautiful for the Halloween. Amazing time here and I will come back. We had some good drinks and great food here. We were here till late .

Unkai Japanese Cuisine is a traditional Osaka restaurant located in several upscale hotels, offering an elegant dining experience with a superior sake collection and kaiseki set dinners. The restaurant features private teppan dining areas, open teppan rooms, and an intimate sake and sushi bar for omakase sushi lunches.
One of the best Japanese restaurants in town.
Edward L — Google review
Slightly expensive comparing the similar restaurants. Very delicious food and options. Waiter is really helpful. He explain every food and fish on the table by the names and the cooking style.
Orkun Y — Google review
Long time not visit Unkai, stay in Sheraton, decided to lunch there. Decor design same as before, neet & quiet. We decided la cart sushimi, but sat on teppanyiki table more open & airy. Sake sommelier recommended an award winner sake for us to pair their freshest sushimi of the day, wow, so fresh & yummy! Manager told me their all you can eat teppanyiki lunch is returning with higher quality food, must revisit to try! This place is very good🍶🍶
Andrew H — Google review
Unkai is just the right place to go if you’re craving some quality Japanese food at the Kowloon side 🇯🇵! I had one of the best tuna toro ever that night while some other dishes I shared were nice too!
Ctung L — Google review
As one of the most well-known Japanese restaurants in town, located within a top-tier hotel, premium pricing paired with exceptional quality has always been expected—and previously well justified. For years, I was happy to pay $320 for their beef udon lunch set, which used to come with tender beef, flavorful udon, fresh sashimi, and well-crafted side dishes. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was disappointing. The beef was tough, the udon lacked the usual quality, and the sashimi was bland and had a rubbery texture, suggesting it had been frozen for an extended period. The overall experience no longer lives up to the price point.
Nicky C — Google review
Went there for lunch. Walk in without booking, but we called in advance to ensure there was a spot for our group. Very kind staff and delicious food. Baby utensils and high chair available. The staff was kind to offer scarf as we sat under the AC.

Good food, good services, slightly expensive however, lunch sets are great values for the money. It is one of my favorite restaurant for birthday celebrations 💖💖

Shikigiku Japanese Restaurant offers a diverse range of menus, from kaiseki to teppanyaki, ensuring there's something for every palate. The restaurant boasts a serene atmosphere with contemporary and Edo-style Japanese artwork and stunning views of Victoria Harbour. Guests rave about the chef-recommended teppanyaki set that features seasonal ingredients. Diners praise the tempura for its light coating and perfect texture, along with remarkable sushi rice and excellent soba noodles.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shikigiku for lunch, and it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was lively and modern, with stunning views of Victoria Harbour that added to the charm. Our server was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with great recommendations. We ordered the Sushi Set and the Pork Tonkatsu, both of which were exquisite. The sushi was fresh and beautifully presented, while the tonkatsu was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The staff continuously ensured we had fresh water and cleared our dishes promptly, making us feel well taken care of throughout our meal. While Shikigiku is on the pricier side, the quality of the food and the overall experience made it worth every penny. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious Japanese lunch in a vibrant setting. We’ll definitely be back!
Al M — Google review
Honestly, it’s a bit overpriced for what it is. Nonetheless, it’s still that comfort spot for us and we go here all the time. No fancy menu. You just get what you order. Can always expect delicious fresh rolls and good service in a comfortable setting. Perfect spot for casual family meals/ business lunch
Hangryworld — Google review
We ordered an executive tepanyaki lunch set and a seafood tepanyaki lunch set. The bill for 2 was $2,255. To be honest, the restaurant is seriously overrated. The food was disappointing. Service was non-existent. When we asked about the difference of sauces placed at our table, we could barely understand the manager's English. She just mumbled through, all the time. The environment was also bad, with the feel of going to a canteen or Chinese restaurant for yum cha. Very loud, very packed, very uncomfortable. Overall, no next time for us definitely. Hope the restaurant can see this comment, and make necessary mprovements. It's not easy to run business in Hong Kong. But if you cannot even keep the business up to standard, nobody can help you.
Cindy K — Google review
We ordered two set $890 + 10% x 2. I forget to take a picture of the rice , veggie and the dessert. I don’t recommanded this restaurant. If you have been to Lung King Heen, their services is beyond my expectation, very impressive. (They are located in the same hotel as shikigiku.) The services in Shikigiku is extremely bad. You can feel the waitress knows nothing. They are probably part time/ 炒散. They won’t come and check do you have enough water. You have to ask them to give you more water and waited about 15 mins in a non-peak hour. The food portion is not enough for a male adult. The chef is not friendly and he can feel that he is in hurry to enjoy his lunch break. We went there around 1:30pm. I hope they provide better services in dinner time.
Water P — Google review
Loved this restaurant very much. The best tempura I have ever tried in Hong Kong. It’s exceptional good with very little oil and very thin coating; absolutely beautiful. The sushi rice was remarkable. The rice size, texture and taste was perfect. The bonus was the soba noddle; it was excellent. I would love to have this soba every time I’m here. The dessert also tasted good and looked great. All food in the set were beyond expectation. Wonderful food, wonderful service, wonderful environment. I cannot find anything negative here.
Kenneth L — Google review
Great view combined with good Japanese food. Some improvement areas. First off, this restaurant provides each tables with a decent amount of space, so you are not sitting on top of one another and can have a conversation without strangers eavesdropping. Secondly, the view of the harbour is very nice. The food menu is quite extensive with a bias towards seafood. But they also have a god selection of beef. The Australian Wagyu beef is very tender and tastes absolutely great. The side dishes are tasty as well and are decently sized. Price wise you are in the 5 star category for sure, so do not go if you're on a budget. The wine list is one improvement point: it includes many famous names, but tends of include the not so good years. So that was a bit of a let down. Staff was pleasant and friendly. Could be faster at times, but I guess that depends on time and day of visit. Overall a very pleasant restaurant with good food and pleasant service. For the price it could be that little bit better to justify the pricing, but that may also be a matter of taste.

Food is alright but service staff are extremely poorly trained. It feels like a cheap cha chan teng where staff would reach out her hand in front of you to wipe table and pick up food when you are eating and then randomly wipe table while you are eating. I stopped coming here for that reason, came back and now decided again that is it after the same experience. Lady wearing red van cleef bracelet is the staff doing these inappropriate stuff the most…

I had the Unagidonburi, eel was overcooked, dried and flavourless, so disappointed, HK$750 plus 10% service charge but not getting value what I was expected ! Very Poor !!

Japanese restaurant
Teppanyaki Mihara Goten is a Japanese fusion restaurant in Tseung Kwan O, led by Chef Terufumi Mihara. The menu features Japanese classics with a modern twist, such as steamed fish in a crust of salt and egg white, and Green Tea Brule.
The value of the experience far exceeds the price, making every cent spent a worthy investment in gastronomic delight. The chef, a maestro of flavors and aesthetics, crafts each dish with a level of skill that is nothing short of remarkable. It’s a pleasure to witness such culinary artistry where taste and presentation converge seamlessly, offering a feast for both the palate and the eyes. The service team complements the dining experience with their superb and attentive approach. They anticipate every need, ensuring that each guest feels valued and well-cared for. Their professionalism and warmth contribute significantly to the overall top-notch experience. In essence, this restaurant is a passport to Japan, sparing me the travel expenses without compromising on the authenticity of the cuisine.

🥗 Starter: Japanese-style salad with mango dressing — sweet, tangy, and super refreshing! 🍳 Chawanmushi loaded with crab meat and roe, super silky and flavorful! 🐚 Hokkaido scallops steal the show! Golden corn silk wraps the thick scallops perfectly, with crunchy bitter melon underneath. Add tartar sauce and salmon roe for an explosion of textures and flavors! 🐟 Black cod cooked just right — crispy skin, tender flesh, with seaweed butter sauce and eggplant taking it to the next level. 🥩 Main: A4 Miyazaki Wagyu thin slices Perfect marbling, dipped in egg yolk for extra richness — classic sukiyaki vibes! 🍚 Garlic fried rice is fragrant and fluffy, not greasy at all. 🍨 Finished off with homemade salted caramel gelato, creamy and just sweet enough — total perfection! At $480, this high-quality teppanyaki is a steal, especially the seafood dishes.

I ordered a $480 A4 wagyu teppanyaki lunch set. 🥗 日式沙律 Japanese Salad The dressing is perfectly balanced, with a delightful sweet and sour flavor that is incredibly appetizing. 🥚 蟹肉茶碗蒸 Savory Egg Custard The dish is packed with ingredients, including shiitake mushrooms, salmon roe, and crab meat, providing a delicious experience with every bite. 🦪 北海道帶子配奈良縣他他汁 Scallop Cutlet with Narazuke Tartar and Ikura The Hokkaido scallop is one of the signature dishes of this restaurant. It is coated in cornmeal and fried, adding a crispy texture, and the salmon roe on top enhances the overall flavor and mouthfeel. The bed of pickled cucumbers provides a refreshing contrast. 🐟 香煎銀鱈魚 Pan-Fried Black Cod The black cod is paired with a miso-based sauce. The chef has cooked the fish skin and flesh separately, resulting in a crispy skin and a delightful combination with the eggplant. 🥩 A4宮崎和牛薄燒 A4 Miyazaki Wagyu Sukiyaki Beef Roll The A4-grade Miyazaki wagyu beef is paired with sukiyaki sauce, shiitake mushrooms, green onions, tofu, and spinach. The tender beef and the savory ingredients perfectly blend together, and when enjoyed with the egg yolk, it creates a unique and delightful flavor. 🧄 大蒜炒飯 Garlic Rice The garlic rice is made with seared wagyu beef as the base, and the wagyu juices have permeated each grain of rice, resulting in a superb texture and flavor. 🥣 味噌湯 & 漬物 Red Miso Soup & Japanese Pickles The miso soup is made with high-quality miso and features fresh tofu and seaweed. The pickled vegetables are sour and refreshing, and they complement the miso soup beautifully when enjoyed together. 🍨 自家製雲呢拿雪糕 Homemade Gelato The restaurant's homemade vanilla gelato is made with a special addition of fragrant vanilla beans, making it incredibly delicious.

This restaurant aims to redefine the teppanyaki dining experience by blending the traditional Kappo-style of seasonal, ingredient-focused cuisine with the theatrical performance of teppanyaki cooking. The culinary team uses only the freshest, highest-quality seasonal ingredients sourced locally and from around the world, showcasing their mastery of Japanese cooking techniques to create innovative and flavor-packed dishes. The interior design seamlessly combines classic Japanese aesthetic elements with a modern, sophisticated flair. The grand, elegant dining room features warm wood accents, sleek clean lines, and subtle nods to traditional Japanese design, creating an atmosphere of refined luxury. The centerpiece is the open teppanyaki grill, where diners are treated to a masterful culinary display as the chefs skillfully prepare each course right before their eyes. The overall experience is designed to immerse guests in a harmonious fusion of traditional Japanese hospitality and cutting-edge culinary creativity. The meal at this acclaimed Japanese restaurant was a sublime journey through the flavors of the sea. It began with a delicate Red Sea Bream Carpaccio, the paper-thin slices of fish dressed in a vibrant green onion sauce that danced on the palate. The cool, refreshing flavors were a perfect lead-in to the Savory Egg Custard that followed - a rich, velvety smooth masterpiece that melted in the mouth. Next came the Sautéed Razor Clams, the briny mollusks dressed in a umami-packed clam and seaweed sauce that complemented their natural sweetness. It was a true celebration of the ocean's bounty. The Grilled Grunt Fish that arrived thereafter was no less impressive, the delicate white flesh infused with the aroma of white wine sauce. The high point of the meal was undoubtedly the Grilled Boston Lobster, served alongside pillowy-soft French toast. The sweet, juicy meat of the lobster was a revelatory pairing with the lightly crisp toast - two contrasting textures that combined into sheer bliss with each bite. The Olive-Fed A4 Wagyu Beef Sirloin was a masterful display of marbling and tenderness, the thick-cut slice seared to perfection and melting on the tongue. As if that wasn't enough, the meal concluded with the refreshing Chilled Sanuki Udon, the springy noodles enlivened by the bright, citrusy notes of sudachi. And the final flourish? A divine Wasanbon Mousse, its delicate sweetness perfectly balanced by the earthy richness of black sesame sauce. It was a spectacular end to an exceptional dining experience that showcased the precision and artistry of Japanese cuisine at its finest.

When searching for a Teppanaki restaurant to celebrate my sister's and niece's birthdays, I was drawn to the enticing menu and positive reviews. Initially, I had booked three restaurants due to my uncertain schedule. However, Teppanyaki Mihara Goten stood out by promptly responding and expressing interest in our birthday celebration. Impressed by their proactive approach, I canceled the other reservations, hoping to provide the best experience for my family. It turned out to be a wise and gratifying decision. Upon arrival, we were charmed by the intimate setting, with only 12 seats in the Teppanaki room, offering a cozy and private environment. Opting for the lunch set, I relished the fresh salad with spot-on homemade dressing and the velvety texture of the egg custard. The pan-seared scallops wrapped in crispy noodles and perfectly cooked sea bass set a high standard for the forthcoming dishes. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the teppanyaki seafood. Both the lobster and abalone were divine, beautifully presented, and tantalizing to the palate. I sampled some from my family's plates, and both dishes were exceptional, complemented by their exquisite sauces. Following the seafood courses, another highlight awaited us – the wagyu beef. Served simply with sea salt and crispy garlic chips, it surpassed my expectations, leaving a lingering, delightful aftertaste. The birthday celebration surpassed all expectations. As we finished our meal, the lights dimmed, and the chef emerged with a dessert plate, singing the birthday song. It was a joyous moment, creating cherished memories for my sister and niece. In addition to their exceptional culinary offerings, the team's expertise in celebration planning was commendable. I am truly grateful for their efforts, and we had an absolutely wonderful time there.

Love the waiters to introduce each dish. They talk about every detail of dish preparation, which is very impressive. I could hardly find staff like that. All the staff, including chefs, are very (yes, very) attentive. They pay attention what we need, what we like or dislike. Very interactive. The atmosphere is good. With such price. I’d expect 1:1 service. But it’s not. One chef serves multiple tables and some dishes are coming out from somewhere where we do not know. Overall experience is good.

Cubus 28, previously a small restaurant in Causeway Bay, has now expanded to a spacious 6,000-square-foot location at Lee Garden Two. It offers high-quality shisha with tailor-made flavors and a fusion Chinese cuisine that combines Western and Chinese ingredients for a unique dining experience. The restaurant is known for its fine dining options and set lunch menus, making it suitable for special occasions or casual gatherings.

Pretty good dining experience at Cubus 28, where they serve set lunch at around HKD200 to HKD250. You get a mini salad buffet, one dim sum, a,main course of your choice plus tea / coffee. If you book via open rice, currently they have 15% off.

Another high quality shisha located in Causeway Bay, giving us more choices for shisha when you are too lazy to go all the way up to Soho. Again, flavour is tailor-made, we specifically asked for stronger tobacco, they came up with a mix of mango, mint and coconut. First time I had coconut in the mix as I don’t prefer the creamy/ body lotion kind of aroma. For fruit I am used to citrus fruits but not really stone fruits, so I had no clue how it would get along with my palate. This new combination is however surprisingly a good match. First few puff were a bit too strong but the staff quickly adjusted the charcoal so we were good. The strength did not disappoint us as well, it gave the exact buzz I was looking for that day. You have that electric shock when the flavour went up to the brain. First change of charcoal after almost an hour, the flavours disclosed themselves by layers - first the mango, then the coconut and lastly the mint. After 2 changes the strength and intensity were still there, the buzz and the euphoria in the brain did fade understandably, but overall it did not die down all in a sudden. The flavour layers made sense, you first had the intense mango coconut with a hint of mint when the charcoal and tobacco was fresh, then as the tobacco were consumed bit by bit it left the fresh mint on your palate to end the whole shisha experience, so that it won’t be overly minty in the beginning but in the end no fruit. Their staff also attentively cleaned our table from time to time. There is a rooftop but weather was not good so we stayed indoor, maybe check them out again during sunny days next time. They are doing 20% off with free wifi and each customer gets 2 free masks. The shisha quality lives up to the money they charge. $380 for the shisha.

We came for the Friday happy hour. Drinks were slow and lots were forgotten. Because we were a large group it was impossible to tell on the bill whether it was accurate, but gut feels say it contained all the forgotten drinks too. Seats had no cushions and very uncomfy, later saw that lots of cushions are next to stairs, would have been nice if staff offered them though. Drink prices are fair if drinks arrive, view is only mediocre though. Don't know about the food and restaurant downstairs.

This was a very good evening out with delicious food. They had a big group in so we were put in a side room with another couple at the teppanyaki table. The chef was very pleasant and engaged as appropriate. We had a seafood and a meat set which meant we could share everything. The presentation and tastes were excellent. The style of the restaurant throughout is very appealing and attractive. The only downside was that the air-conditioning was absolutely freezing so bring a jumper or light jacket. We didn't order any alcohol but, even so, the price for two of us was very high. However, we were in a good Japanese restaurant so that should be expected.

Underwhelming. As a whole, it is an above average restaurant, given the location / view, exclusiveness / limited seating capacity and freshness of the food. However, with the pre-opening hype, our expectations were naturally elevated and as often in such instances, disappointed.

I craved for Japanese grilled eel 🍱 I know this is a teppanyaki restaurant but I guess they should have high quality generally. I also come for the Mont Blanc and Syphon coffee 🥰 The eel is really good, with crispy skin and not too strong sauce. It’s not very thick but texture is nice. The miso soup is great, usually no one pay attention to it, but their miso soup have algae in it 💚 The sashimi are fresh but not much flavour. Strawberry Mont Blanc (+$60 for changing the daily dessert to Mont Blanc) is tasty, with puff pastry and a strawberry macerated in wine. ☕️Coffee is nutty and well balanced, goes well with the dessert 💕

The restaurant features a special summer dinner menu with unique dishes like foie gras and peach confiture served in a Japanese style waffle, French Blue lobster, and Miyazki wagyu seared on teppans.
Nice food with great ambience. Both sashimi and teppanyaki are good. We had an enjoyable lunch. The location is kind of hidden in the floor. You can enjoy a piece of peace in the hustle city.

Very bad service, made reservation more than a week ago and specifically asking for teppanyaki but they failed to inform me there is no seat left at the teppanyaki room. Only found out when I got there. Staff was not helpful at all. The service was so bad it doesn’t worth the price they are charging. There are many good teppanyaki places in hk and IE is definitely not one of them. Also the Hong Kong sushi chef was shouting for waiter to bring up soy sauce when I was still waiting for service. Never heard a chef shouting at any omakase place. What a disgrace for a Japanese brand.

We had a very bad experience at this restaurant. Here below was the reply by their management. "I profusely apologize for the poor service you received at my restaurant last Monday. I am taking the matter seriously and will be discussing this issue with each employee in person. As we have received your complaint about our booking system and on my receptionist (Ms.Chan). On 13th of April you had made a call to reserve and requested a Teppanyaki counter at our restaurant for 25th of April at 19:00pm. The reservation was taken by my receptionist Ms.Chan, And unfortunately on 25th a reservation for a private room came up and we were unable to provide a Teppanyaki seat to you due to priority will be given to private room booking. so our receptionist had called you acknowledging that Teppanyaki is unavailable then you had also brought out a question about my receptionist (Ms.Chan) that she had not mentioned that you could have booked a private room on the 13th of April when the reservation was taken that day, Ms.Chan had gave a answer, you didn't ask. While on the phone inquiring Ms.Chan had given a ignoring impression to you and was then passed to my operation manager to follow up. Finally our operation manager has made a decision to reject and turn down the booking of the private room and offered you our large Teppanyaki room without minimum charge. I hope to have your understanding that we value your visit with us. We will focus and provide more training on the taking reservation part to provide more information about our restaurant booking status to our guests. And I will make note of the unprofessional attitude of Ms.Chan to make sure that it won't happen again to any customer in the near future. Our IE restaurant has complications on booking due to lack of tables and sudden private room bookings. Sadly to hear that when your parties arrived at our Teppanyaki room that night, we are not able to provide a chef in time for cooking. Let me kindly explain that what happened that night was one of our chefs suddenly called in absent at 6:00pm, then we were left with one chef only. And unfortunately he was cooking for another table while you were waiting for his service, he wanted to try cooking for your table at the same time he was cooking on his table at that moment. But of course we truly understand that you would like to enjoy the cooking in front of you. But sadly it leaves us no choice at that moment. If you have to wait for our chef to finish cooking at his room it will take a period of time. Sorry for the careless response from my staff that they could have told you that we are having trouble on the manpower at our kitchen that night. Maybe you can change to other places. I can say that we truly regret the outcome that had happened that night, my staff was trying to serve you the best he could that he turned down a booking that night to provide you a private room just unfortunately things don’t work out well. So for the meantime we have decided to cut all our booking in half until our operation went back to normal. Once again with truly regrets from me and behalf of my company. Please accept our apologies. Your feedback is vital to our success, and we will be using this as a learning experience to improve our service."

Perched on the 25th floor of the Mandarin Oriental, The Aubrey is a unique Japanese izakaya that offers stunning panoramic views of Hong Kong. This stylish establishment boasts carefully curated design elements, including commissioned artwork and a playlist featuring groovy tunes to create an intimate atmosphere. Embracing Hong Kong's reputation as a hub for cultural exchange while honoring Japanism, The Aubrey celebrates both influences through its decor and culinary offerings.
The Aubrey in Hong Kong, located in the Mandarin Oriental, is an absolute gem! The interior is stunning, with a chic and intimate ambiance that feels perfect for a romantic date or celebrating something special. I recently visited, and the service was impeccable—attentive without being overbearing. The drinks were fantastic, and I’d highly recommend trying their Negroni—it was perfectly balanced. The whole experience felt luxurious but still warm and inviting. If you’re looking for a classy spot for cocktails or a memorable evening out, The Aubrey is a must-visit. Can’t wait to go back!

Atmosphere, decoration, location, drinks, food all world class. Thoroughly recommend this spot. It has deservedly become a place to be seen on Friday nights too. Well done to the team behind this, in a notoriously competitive F&B environment

The food was excellent at the Aubrey. Great taste, especially the snacks/starters were on point. Hamachi rolls and kerage chicken were the best. The mains were overall disappointing, the udon were a bit strange, slippery and eggy and milky. The pork however was super tasty and soft. We came while the best bar take over was on, and the drinks were a bot meh, being at the different bars, the drinks presented at the Aubrey were disappointing, mild not a good representation of the HK best bars. Finally, the sitting area was wonderful. Super chill, great interiors but freezing cold. Must also say that the cool interiors clash a bit with the izakaya idea. Was like being in an English gastro pub where served Japanese style pub food.

Service is as expected from MO. Got the sashimi set which is quite good but honestly feels tad overpriced, maybe choosing the three Bento is better! If you upgrade to the beef! But the Wagyu sando is to kill for! Very yummy and expensive piece! But defo a better environment, especially for quality lunch as table are well-placed, so it doesn't get too rowdy. Also came here for bar, I thought it was a bit loud but I had good things that you can have good environment to chat, maybe my table or bad luck! But they have a lot of drinks but pricy for sure!

Went to Aubrey for drinks on a cool, cloudy Saturday evening and felt instantly uplifted. We got a table by the window and got a great view of the harbour and the giant Ferris wheel. 5 stars for the following: - Service (our waiter recommended amazing drinks for us) - Comfort (the seats were ultra comfortable) - Bartender (the drinks were DELICIOUS) - Atmosphere (the VIBE was uplifting, classy, and calm) - Music (perfect volume and genre) - Interior decor (special mention for how classy it truly looks - not all hotel bars look this presentable in Hong Kong) Go only if you wish to have a guaranteed special time 😎

Atmosphere 8.5/10 Located inside the Mandarin Oriental hotel. Accordingly very high-end atmosphere and interior design elements. There are two different bar areas, with the main bar positioned in the middle of the room, creating a nice cocktail bar vibe. However, for the floor it is located on, the views are poor. The dress code is smart casual. Drinks 6/10 Recommendation: - The menu design is nice with a lot of signature cocktails, which all have some history behind them. However, the drinks did not taste good, nor did they have any interesting presentation orgarnish. Normal glassware is used. Nice coasters are provided. Service 5/10 This was a big disappointment for a place like the Mandarin Oriental. The bartender had no clue about their menu and couldn’t explain it or tell me where I can find food options. They serve water and complimentary snacks on the spot. But the price tag is just too high for the service level offered.
Anton S — Google review
In Between the Line is hands down the best cocktail I’ve had in Hong Kong—and I’ve been to many bars. I’d love to return and try more from their menu. The atmosphere is classic and elegant, fitting for a bar in the Mandarin Oriental. However, service was a letdown. I visited solo at 2:30 PM when it wasn’t busy, but the bartenders were preoccupied with prep work, like carving ice, and weren’t very friendly. I expected some casual conversation but didn’t get much engagement. I’ll definitely revisit for the cocktails, but next time, I’ll go at a different time or day for a better experience.

Um....Before sharing the dining experience, would like 'highlight' their greetings. I was walking in asking for a table for nine, which understandably we were a huge group and should be better to make a reservation. We were happy to wait a bit. Staff looked surprised and didn't bother to take our group. Just randomly gave us a ticket telling us to wait for their call via phoning us. I was pretty shocked and asked how do you even call if you didnt ask for my phone number? Just to ask us go for a shop and come back? And what I saw at the entrance, there were plenty of empty seats and some even by combining, it easily made out a table for nine. When rest of us were pretty upset and would like to make a move leaving, the manager came saying they would arrange the table immediately and gave them a minute without leaving. Um.... Anyway, it's one of our group's birthday and if he didn't mind, we kept our decision. Their pomelo salad was alright. Good portion to share. Refreshing and tangy. Love their cashews for a crunch. Funny to serve the whole big dish with one shrimp to share. Soft shell crab rice roll was okay. Not until you bite through, you could even visibly find the soft shell crab. Rice paper was fresh that it wasn't chewy or dry. Mango slice gave a hint of sweetness. Fish sauce gave some saltiness. Whole dish wasn't bland at all. Another funky dish served. The lettuce wrap with Thai stir fry mince. Restaurant served the heart of lettuce. How do you expect heart of lettuce could wrap the mince? It couldnt even tear in pieces but we ate in chunks mixing with the mince. Mince meat itself was delicious with limey and spiciness. Shrimp cake and fish cake were bother the highlight of tonight. Shrimp cake was crispy and bouncy. Strong scent of shrimp flavour. Fish cake was herby and with a slight chewy texture. Very savoury. Perfect size for sharing. Roasted chicken was also a great dish. Chicken was charred with crispy skin. Smoky, moist and juicy. It was served with sticky rice which definitely need to eat instantly. It went cool easily ending up tough and hard. Difficult to digest and bite. Salty fish kale stir fry was my all time favourite. In spite of the saltiness, absolutely loving its fishiness and wok taste. Perfect to serve with rice. Kale was still crunchy and green. Water spinach stir fry was also one of my all time favourite. Love the crunch and chilli for a kick. Water spinach was fresh. Both vegetables were perfect to share. Overall, food was alright. Just that we could not feel the warmth or sense of welcoming from the service.

We came for lunch, chose 2-person lunch set, which can pick 2 appetizers and 2 main courses, coffee and tea were also offered. The fried shrimp cake is my favorite dish, the Thai style roasted chicken is also not bad. I am not that into soft shell crab with yellow curry. The environment is good and quite spacious! And good location if you’re going to visit any exhibitions at M+ right after your meal.

A well known Thai restaurant in Element serves good Thai cuisine. Taste, price, portion and services all OK. Their special promotion ctedit card deal are real bargain

This was my first time returning to Mango Tree, and I was pleasantly surprised by the remarkable improvements in the delicacy and craftsmanship of their Thai cuisine. From the appetizers to the main dishes and desserts, each dish was prepared with exceptional care and a genuine appreciation for quality, providing an unforgettable dining experience for patrons. I was so impressed with the flavors and presentation that I couldn't help but post pictures of our empty plates, not because we were hungry, but because the food was simply that outstanding. In fact, I was so impressed that I've already made a reservation to return in a week to sample more of their delectable offerings, including the highly recommended lobster and crab noodles.i Notes: 2nd visit in a week We went back to try out the afternoon-tea. It was a delicacy. We also ordered their famous seafood platter. It was absolutely delicious. 3rd visit in 10 days This time, we went back to try their gigantic shrimps and the sauce was absolutely amazing! Wish they have one close to this level in Los Angeles.

We came after reading good reviews, but the food was pretty average at best. We ordered from the set lunch menu, which had plenty of choices for starters and mains. The pomelo prawn salad, while nicely presented, had only TWO prawns ! The chicken curry was like watery soup with a few strips of chicken. Frankly, the Thai chicken curry we used to buy from Marks & Spencer in London was better. The beef aubergine was so heavily seasoned and salty that it could be anything. The only redeeming dish was the Thai prawn cake, which was very fresh and tasty. Price was commensurable with the location, and service was attentive. However, it is not a place for a return visit given the wide choices of restaurants in the Elements Mall.

Soft shell crab rolls were okay ,nice sauce but I felt that it wasn't freshly made. I had better experience in DB thai restaurants. Salt and pepper squid rings... aren't ring shaped and very gummy plus not hot at all.... not freshly made for sure. Would avoid it next time. Noodles with chicken was the best of all things that we ordered. Hot and seems fresher. But pretty plain tho. Super salty everything is way too salty to eat Mango fresh juice was great! Lychee non alcoholic drink was very refreshing. Ridiculous expensive 658 hk dollars for one appetizer, squid and main... two drinks... never again . Bad food for that price no thank you

Italian restaurant
Paper Moon is a fine dining restaurant located in Harbour City, offering a taste of Italian cuisine with stunning sea views. The restaurant, part of the 1957 & Co group by Paul Kwok, has successfully expanded to Hong Kong after establishing itself in Istanbul and Beirut. Signature dishes like grilled black cod and tiramisu are highly recommended, and diners can enjoy the romantic experience of watching the sunset from the outdoor dining area while sipping on wine.
We came with a party of 4 on a Hong Kong public holiday, without reservation. Note, it is located on the 3rd floor, all the way at the end of the mall. We were directly seated at a spot near the window, overseeing the river and the beautiful Hong Kong skyline! The food was good with quite a lot of options. They will start you off with some complementary bread (sticks) and a bottle of water. The staff was friendly throughout and we encountered no issues. It did seem like their terrace seating was closed today. It is on the expensive end, paying 200+ HKD for a main and slightly less for a starter. Overall we paid 2,000+ HKD with 4 people for starter, main and drink.

The location is beautiful, and we were delighted to be seated without a reservation. The service was excellent, but unfortunately, the food was just okay. We had high hopes for the deep-fried squid and prawn, expecting them to be similar to fried calamari and shrimp. However, they were heavily battered and lacked seasoning, making them quite disappointing. The pizza and main courses could also benefit from more seasoning. If you’re comfortable dining around cigarette smokers, I highly recommend a table at the outdoor patio, which offers one of the best views in town.

We decided on this restaurant after getting a cold shoulder from the opposite restaurant. Thank you Paper Moon for having us seated right away even after noticing we have 2 kids. The table was next to the staff room but I was too tired to even ask for a table with a view. Loved the idea of ikea cutlery sets for kids, saved me the trouble of getting a panic attack every time they took a sip of water. The bread basket with a small serving of vinegar and olive oil was delicious. Kids loved their Margherita pizza 🍕 Pizza Burrata was a so so. I had a Galletto Nostrano which was a well cooked chicken dish. Loved the ambience, and amazing place to catch up with friends or even a date dinner.

Food was good, though pricy. We ordered a dinner set, with 50% discount on the second set. Service was okay, depending on who served you. The restaurant has a great window view and balcony view. You can choose sitting outdoor if it's not hot.

The atmosphere is one of a kind😍 When you penetrate the glass and enjoy the few with loved one or friends. It’s absolutely amazing there. We ordered spaghetti and a pizza. Actually the flavor is not exactly same as I ate in Itlay. But it should adjust a little bit according the different countries. In overall, it was really worth to have the view with such a wonderful dishes at the same time. I hope next time we can visit at dinner time instead of lunchtime.

It was an enjoyable dinner with amazing Italian cuisine in front of the stunning view of the Victoria Harbour! We were impressed by the menu selection, food quality, service, and atmosphere of the restaurant. Ww highly recommend Paper Moon and will definitely return again!

Paper Moon has been on my wishlist for some time, and I finally visited for an anniversary celebration, having booked a 3-course lunch set two weeks in advance. We were seated indoors with a nice view of Victoria Harbour, although the sunlight made the space slightly too warm and bright. The table felt a bit narrow for two people. Service: The service experience was mixed. The first server seemed inexperienced, being unsure about the soup of the day, unfamiliar with the lunch set promotion, and didn’t ask for our preference between chilled or room-temperature still water. However, the second and third servers were much more attentive, professional, and patient. They took great photos for us and contributed to a more enjoyable experience later in the meal. Food: Starters: The soup was as expected, while the duck galantine a l'orange was flavorful with a hint of foie gras, though the orange flavor was not very noticeable. Mains: The Australian M5 wagyu sirloin and roasted boneless lamb leg portions were smaller than anticipated. Both meats were on the drier side and less tender than expected. However, the accompanying vegetables and potatoes were a nice addition. Dessert: The panna cotta was served with a thoughtful anniversary message. The staff also kindly helped us take photos, capturing great angles. Coffee: Unfortunately, the coffee was too bitter for my taste, and I left it unfinished. The lunch set promotion offered decent value — order one premium lunch set and get a regular lunch set free. While the overall service was pleasant (after a slow start) and the view of Victoria Harbour was stunning, the food fell short of expectations, perhaps due to the high anticipation I had for the visit. Nevertheless, Paper Moon is worth considering for its scenic dining experience.

Japanese restaurant
Located on the 101st floor of the International Commerce Center in Hong Kong, Inakaya serves up some of the best Japanese food in the city. The views from this restaurant are simply breathtaking, and the menu is quite diverse. Seafood is Inakaya's specialty, and their teppanyaki dishes are highly praised by patrons. While it may not be the cheapest option out there, it's definitely worth a visit for anyone looking for some great sushi and amazing cuisine.
One of the best view and food of the city. You get what you pay for. Excellent service and even better food. Offers the best robatayaki in town 👍 and other set / alacarte menus.

Went there to celebrate birthday. Food is okay with this price, but services were absolutely terrible (as echoed by many other reviewers here). No introduction of the food at all, staff was laughing when there are still clients around, and when I asked about whether there is free parking (since I called their staff beforehand), the male manager just smirked and said he is not sure. LOL. With this price range i expect better services. To ppl who did their due diligence before coming here: you can have better options if you are paying this price

I am having a luncheon with my customer in this fantastic Victoria Harbor View Japanese restaurant. The food quality is standard, with a high price. Service quality is below average. It's only good for the view.
Eason L — Google review
At 1780 HKD for a sashimi platter featuring 9 types of fish, we expected a top-tier culinary experience. Unfortunately, it fell far short. The taste was lacking, the quality was very average on par with, or even below, what you’d find at a chain like Sushi Express. There was no presentation or explanation of the fish served, so we had no idea what we were eating. The texture, flavor, and cuts of the fish did nothing to enhance the experience. The wasabi had no flavor, and there was no instruction on the sauces either. What was most concerning, however, was the hygiene. Sitting at the counter, we witnessed a staff member use his phone with bare hands while being in the kitchen. That was simply unacceptable. We ended up canceling the rest of our order and leaving. Overall, a very disappointing experience, especially at this price! I don’t recommend.

Excellent view from the private room at 101 th floor! Average service! With the price tag , much better service is expected! The waiter didn’t even know a good bottle of first growth bordeaux wine should be decanted before a quick serving. The waiter has to be asked to fill up the empty wine glasses . A 3kg live south Australian lobster was ordered but the meat and cooking techniques were under average. Hope that these will be improved when we visit next time .

Went there for lunch with best friend and paid $1,200 each. Excellent location with fantastic view. Food was above average but the service wasn’t professional. All the waiters (yes, all) put the food on the table and walked away without any introduction (except the waitress who explained each dish patiently). They were so eager to remove our plates once we put down our chopstick (maybe they want us to finish the meal and leave the restaurant ASAP?). I feel we were eating in a high-end Cha Chaan Teng in conclusion.

Perfect dinning experience! Location is great, dining at 101 floor of ICC, the view is breathtaking. On the other hand, the amazing food and service catches the attention whole night. The staffs are paying attention to every aspect, they refilled glasses, replaced dishes quick before noticing. The food quality is premium, it transcends the taste notes to new horizon. The price is about average, yet it worth every single penny.

I have enjoyed a fine degustation at Inakaya, which is located within the 9th tallest skyscraper in the world. Inakaya presents its luxurious creations and boasts an unparalleled view of Hong Kong Island. I was blown away as I entered the Japanese restaurant. The ambiance was magnificent and interior was lavishly appointed. Starters were understated but appetizing and practical to adjust palates. As do most Japanese delicacies, the sushis were presented with a wooden thematic crockery and a minimalist layout. They came in sets of 3 with head chef enlightening us on each piece's character. The food was at first glance simple, yet complex and inventive in flavour combination, taste progression and textures. The portion sizes were filling yet not excessive. My personal favourite has to be the right-eye flounder sushi, where the exhibit just melted in my mouth, with the fine aroma dancing on my palates. The sea urchins that were chosen was also of note; they were sweet and scrumptious. All details come together so well at Inakaya. For me it a magnificent gastronomical experience. It definitely stands out from Hong Kong's top restaurants due to its impeccable offerings, exceptional service and majestic view.

Vietnamese restaurant
An Nam, an exquisite Vietnamese eatery with multiple locations in Causeway Bay, Yuen Long, and Kowloon Tong, has gained popularity among Vietnamese cuisine enthusiasts due to its profound knowledge of the culinary art and knack for creating recipes that accentuate the freshness of their ingredients. A major advantage for many is their delivery service, making it effortless to savor An Nam's delectable dishes with just a few clicks.
Cozy restaurant with delicious Vietnamese food! We ordered a few items to share and everything was great. Banh beo really stood out as the plainness of the rice flan goes really well with the toppings - excellent texture combinations too. Portion was generous and filled us quite well. The beef on the salad was juicy and nicely grilled. The atmosphere was pleasant even though the restaurant was quite busy on a weekend lunchtime. Service was quick and helpful to our requests. Will definitely consider going back!

The place has a nice vibe, good location, and cozy decor. But the food was just okay—especially the grilled chicken, which was bland, chopped into big, hard-to-eat pieces, and felt rushed. For this price level, we expected better. Service was lacking too—we had to ask for water refills and plate changes. The deposit policy also felt strict: we paid $1,050 upfront (7 people, $150 each) for a Saturday booking, which is deducted from the bill. But there’s no flexibility for last-minute cancellations or unexpected changes. It’s not a high-end restaurant that one has to wait for months for a table, so this policy seems excessive. Or the restaurant can set rule for cancellation deadline. Customers will respect. Considering the average food, non attentive service, and rigid rules, I probably won’t return.

The afternoon tea set here is really amazing. Everything is done well, great variety, very filling (but not overly so). HKD400 for 2 pax, which is a VERY competitive price when compared with hotels or others who offer the 'tiered' afternoon tea experience. Surprised not more people were there... Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very calm vibe and very spacious interior. 3/F of Lee Gardens Two at one end of the mall. [Jan 2025 update] Also tried their weeknight dinner. Surprisingly busy but still friendly and reasonably efficient service. The a la carte menu has a lot of variety and many unique dishes not normally found in mainstream Vietnamese cuisine restaurants. All very tasty. Non-alcoholic coolers are very creative and refreshing too.

The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was busy. The staff were friendly and the service was fairly quick. Some dishes took a bit longer than others. The only let down was the beef being a bit chewy.

I've been wanting to come here for months now. I ordered 3 dishes and everything was tasty and well balanced in flavor. The service was pretty good too. I didn't have much time to chat, so I was just in and out. Next time I come here, I will spend more time to enjoy my meal. I just wanted to leave a review and share that everything was really good, service was great, and for the price? You can't beat this. It's a nice place to have business meetings, bring your family, a date, friends. I'll be sure to come back!

Nestled near the bustling convention center, Matsubishi Japanese Restaurant offers a serene dining experience with stunning views of Victoria Harbour. Since 1979, this establishment has been serving top-quality sushi, sashimi, and teppanyaki dishes. We went there for lunch. We have always loved this place as a couple and this is the first time we brought our daughter. The food was amazing as usual and the service was great. Just wanted to specially mention 海師傅 who was our chef today. His cooking was top-notched and he was just so kind to our many many special requests! We had a really lovely time!

I wanted to love this place and I was very excited for our reservation. I was excited for the experience as both my husband and I had never been to a restaurant like this before. The food was pretty good and you should definitely go for the Japanese meat (as opposed to U.S. beef) as it’s a lot more tender and delicious. But a few things - one is that there was no atmosphere. The teppanyaki chefs just got on with it and had no emotion. The second is that we paid $260 for Japanese scallop which was literally one scallop. I really wish we’d asked about that before ordering it otherwise we would not have done so — so I am putting it here to warn all y’all: don’t order the Japanese scallop because it’s not worth it. At one point patrons started to leave and so did the teppanyaki chefs. So my husband and I were confused and thought the restaurant was closing up… when we were planning to order more food. We asked the server who told us that we could order more food. So we ordered another sirloin and the chef emerged from somewhere to a grill that had looked as though it was cleaned up that point, to prepare food for just us. I felt really bad. Anyway, food is alright but not sure if it is worth the price point. I think I could get delicious Japanese bbq in so many other places in HK so I probably won’t be back. I’m sure there are many other people who have had wonderful positive experiences in this restaurant but unfortunately it was not me.

We arrived just when the restaurant opened during the weekday. So while we ate, the place wasn’t crowded or loud. My sashimi was fresh and delicious. Husband enjoyed his Katsu, it was crispy and well cooked. Service was excellent. Will definitely find time to come back again. Edit: A few weeks after my review, I came back again for their teppanyaki with friends. There were three sets to choose from. We had a great time chatting while watching the chef prepare our food. Everything was great, especially the beef. It was delicious and well cooked.

Lucky enough to be able to experience this restaurant, and it was a life changing experience. The chef was friendly, funny and ridiculously skilled in both the culinary arts and the art of conversation and stand up comedy. The food was extremely fresh, and thanks to the skill of the chef (Benz), extraordinarily tasty. The desserts were amazing as well and the atmosphere was electric. Nadaman at Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong is a spacious and elegant venue offering traditional Japanese cuisine. The restaurant features teppanyaki, assorted sashimi, sushi omakase, and chef's recommendations starting at HK$450. Chef Itamae Takatsugu Koyama ensures dishes preserve authenticity without overwhelming flavors. Known as one of the best Japanese restaurants in Hong Kong, Nadaman offers fresh and artistic meals at an average cost of $258 for two.
Nadaman Teppanyaki – A 15-Course Masterpiece at Kowloon Shangri-La If you’re looking for an unforgettable teppanyaki experience in Hong Kong, Nadaman at Kowloon Shangri-La delivers perfection on a hot plate. I indulged in their 15-course tasting menu, and it was nothing short of culinary artistry—each dish was exquisitely prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. 🔥 The 15-Course Teppanyaki Journey – A Symphony of Flavors Every course was a standout, but here are the highlights: 🦐 Sweet Shrimp & Cod Roe Monaka A delicate crispy wafer filled with sweet shrimp and mentaiko (spicy cod roe)—an explosive umami start. 🐟 Seared Bonito with Ponzu Jelly & Onion The lightly torched bonito paired with refreshing ponzu jelly was a perfect balance of smoky and tangy. 🍣 Crispy Tuna Toro Sushi Melt-in-your-mouth fatty tuna on a crispy rice base—simple yet luxuriously satisfying. 🥗 Chef’s Special Caesar Salad Not your average salad! Smoky bacon, black pepper dressing, and crisp greens made it surprisingly memorable. 🦞 Grilled Baby Lobster Succulent, buttery, and perfectly grilled—the natural sweetness of the lobster needed no extra embellishment. 🥩 Sliced Wagyu Beef with Garlic The star of the show—paper-thin Wagyu, seared to melt-in-your-mouth perfection, with crispy garlic chips adding a punch. 🍚 Squid Ink Fried Rice A bold, savory finish—the inky black rice was packed with deep seafood flavor and wok hei (that smoky wok aroma). 🍧 Refreshing Interludes The yuzu citrus sherbet was a brilliant palate cleanser, and the Japanese warabi mochi (jelly-like wagashi) ended the meal on a light, sweet note. 👨🍳 Chef’s Performance – Entertainment & Expertise The teppanyaki chef was a maestro—engaging, skilled, and passionate. Watching him slice, sear, and flame-grill each ingredient with precision was as enjoyable as eating it. 🍷 Impeccable Pairings & Service The staff timed each course perfectly, and the sake/wine recommendations were spot-on. The lobster miso soup was a comforting, umami-packed finale. 💰 Worth Every Penny (HK$988/person) For 15 courses of this quality—premium seafood, Wagyu beef, and creative twists on Japanese classics—this is a steal for a Michelin-level experience. 🌟 Final Verdict – A Must-Try Teppanyaki Omakase Nadaman’s 15-course teppanyaki menu is a journey through Japan’s finest flavors, executed with precision, flair, and luxury. Perfect for special occasions—or if you just want to treat yourself senseless. 5/5 stars – Flawless from start to finish!

Priced HKD 880 Sukiyaki is the pre-cooked beefs with heated bowl, it’s a bit surprise. However,Sushi, grilled duck’s liver and Sukiyaki are palatable as the ingredients are fresh and the cuisine is above average when comparing with other HK restaurants. Not recommend the grilled pork, which sadly tasted liked the cardboard and tasteless. Service was excellent but our dinning experience was disappointing with one noisy group and part of our conversation was strangely interrupted by others. This destroyed my perception having a quiet place to enjoy the delicacies. Some credit cards offer 10% off discount.

Ive eaten Japanese food in many restaurants around the world. This is one of the best for Sushi and Sashimi. The difference are things that many wont notice. The fish is not cold when served so the flavour is full and the mouth feel ideal. The Nori has not been pushed into the rice on the gunkan so it remains crisp. Chef has kept an eye on your progress and hands you your handroll from his had to yours only when you are ready to eat it and freshly wrapped seconds before. The base ingredients like the uni are just perfect. Chef happily made me sushi not on the menu at my request and they were a delight. It is far from cheap but the value is good. The reason for no pictures is that I wont use my phone during a sensory experience like this.

Gonpachi (Causeway Bay) is a renowned restaurant with an atmospheric setting inspired by the original Kill Bill restaurant in Tokyo. The Hong Kong outpost, located at One Peking Road complex in Tsim Sha Tsui, offers panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and retains its signature temple eaves and lantern decor. The spacious dining area provides a comfortable experience, and the lunch sets are considered a good deal given the location and offerings.
Delicious food really recommend the yakitori and tofu although a little pricy! Sashimi and sushi all very fresh. Can book tables where you sit in the floor.

Really spacious dining space at Gonpachi, and the lunch sets were a pretty good deal considering its location and everything that it offers. No need to wait for a Friday lunch walk-in, and the menu has a lot of good choices. We ordered a sushi set and a tonkatsu bento set, the pork chop was fried to perfection and I really liked the generous serving of cabbage on the site. A nice touch of a small piece of lemon cheese cake as dessert, finished with the coffee, the meal takes care of all desires. Would come back and try the other lunch sets. Super spacious ambience and perfect for chats.
Helen J — Google review
Extremely disappointed with Gonpachi. Came in for dinner and saw their promotion: order a set and get sake at a special price, plus a DBS credit card discount. Sounded like a good deal—until we placed our order. Then they told us the two lower-priced sakes were sold out, and only the higher-priced ones were available. The restaurant was half empty, so it’s obvious this wasn’t about stock—it was a push to upsell and squeeze more money out of customers. We get that the economy in Hong Kong isn’t great, but using shady tactics like this to force people into pricier options is just pathetic. If something’s out of stock, you tell customers before they order—not after. That’s basic professionalism. Between the misleading promotion and the lack of transparency, Gonpachi left a really bad impression. Won’t be returning, and definitely not recommending.

came here last year, but didn’t post a review yet. accommodations and atmosphere the best, the cod was cooked nicely and overall i love it. however, the california roll (or other roll) was definitely too bland and mundane as seen in the picture. it was definitely an outlier in the many dishes we ate here and considering the price on it to be unreasonably high as well, this problem needs to be addressed.

I have lost count of the amount of times I’ve came here to eat with friends and family. Each time the food and service is always great. Everything that we have ordered has always been delicious, and presented well. It gets pretty busy during lunch hours but despite that the staff are always quick to your table.

A beautiful place and good selection of delicious lunch sets. Service is swift and sometimes you have to try to get their attention a bit harder. During the last time we visited we were placed at the tatami tables. Next to us was a family with 2 children (about 9/10 years) who were loud and getting up from their seats all the time. It was quite disruptive. We only found out when we were leaving that there were actually screens that could have been put between tables for more privacy and in this case calm. Teppanyaki restaurant
Hana Sakazuki Japanese Restaurant, established in December 2004, is located in the prestigious shopping district of Causeway Bay. With a variety of teppanyaki options available, including a semi-circle grill for up to 14 guests and VIP rooms for smaller groups, there are ample dining choices. The restaurant offers an extensive menu for both lunch and dinner that can cater to any budget. Patrons have praised the excellent service and enjoyable teppanyaki experience.
The best Japanese restaurant at least in this city. Very cozy and welcoming. The service is just like if you would be a royal family member. Most polite and attentive personnel. If you want more intimate atmosphere you may reserve a place at a separate table but not at teppanyaki area. The quality of products are of highest level. Champagne selection is surprisingly good too.

I was here on a short trip to Hong Kong, this restaurant was by far the best meal I had here!! Their teppanyaki and sushi were SO FANTASTIC!!! Absolutely worth trying for anyone who is visiting - you will not find anything better than this - this is peak classic Japanese cuisine 👍👍👍👍☝️☝️☝️

All in once place to have attentive and delicious Japanese dining in Hong Kong. They serve Teppanyaki, Sushi, Sashimi or other rice bowls. Booking is easily and please book counter table for Teppanyaki if you would like to dine and see chef in actions. Premium beef like US Prime or Wagyu beef are also served here

Quite an astronomical meal that we had a few weeks ago for a friend's belated birthday. It was also super duper expensive, we ordered 2 teppanyaki sets, a sashimi set, and random seasonal raw fish such as monkfish liver, white prawn sushi and tuna tataki. We were super full even before the teppanyaki started. I liked the raw fish better than the teppanyaki. Ard 5xxx for 3 of us without alcohol. The very very best dish was the toasted caramelized bread which the chef made a few more for us. It was super nice of him.

Both the service and the chef cooking skills have met my expectations. The food itself is good except the Miyazaki Wagyu beef. It’s juicy but the taste is not rich.

A top teppanyaki restaurant in Hong Kong which is even better than some in Japan. Recently a new extension is available on 1/F which offers more seats for dining

Kyoku is a top-notch teppanyaki restaurant located in Causeway Bay, offering an exquisite dining experience. The restaurant features a sushi counter, teppanyaki corner, and private rooms. With two teppanyaki menus to choose from, Momiji and Ennju, guests can enjoy meticulously prepared ingredients flown in daily from Japan for freshness and quality. The warm and attentive staff provide impeccable service as you indulge in the elegant yet relaxed atmosphere.
The best meal I had this trip! The ingredients are of the highest quality, chefs employ a variety of techniques, and the taste and presentations were delicate! Worth every penny!

A true hidden gem @ a dead end street so low profile you need to approach close to see the entrance. Once inside like day & night difference, tranquil, spacious, left side teppan, right sushi bar, we had lunch omakase, 2 bottles of good sake, what a treat🍶🍶 Chef Wai personally served & drank with 4 of us… each item was meticulously prepared, yum! I don’t know the name of each fish, all well balance & tasty! Reservations are recommended! One of a decent omakase hidden in Causrway Bay!

Cozy teppanyaki restaurant, warm and welcoming environment, dedicated service and delicious food. Price is fair and quality of food is very good! Recommended for anniversary or special occasions!

Every piece of sushi was specially arranged by the chef, delicious and yummy. During the meal, you may want to book the next round of dinning later. The restaurant provides Omakase Sushi and Teppanyaki menu. Despite on week days, all tables were fully booked. The food quality against what you pay, the cp value is high. Will come back to try their Teppanyaki.

I go there for teppenyaki usually. The chef would recommend portion, seafood, meat according to the number of customers and their preferences. My friends and I always appreciate the effort the chef render. The precise cut and time control made what we ate delectable. Service has been attentive and relaxing. The chef is ready to answer questions and make dining experience enjoyable. There are only 4 carparking spaces, and not reserved for patrons. This is perhaps one thing the restaurant may consider changing.

This was the 3rd time I dined in the evening here and more often for lunch. There were 2 teppanyaki menus, both good. We were 6 pax and the chef recommended we order 1 Japanese beef menu for 2 + three US beef order and add 1 scallop a La carte. The quality of the food was excellent, the chef was very professional. Abalone and lobsters, both Australian were gigantic and delicious. Fried rice with a Japanese fried egg and BBQ pork was heavenly. Do try their house Sake! Nice! Definitely worth 1 Star but I’d be very sad if they did. Price will go up and quality will go down - the curse of Michelin.

We managed to get two seats despite the last minute booking, on a Friday evening. The restaurant is located at the end of haven street and the r interior is spacious. They have adjusted the price of the set menu and the starting price is now HKD1500. Razor claim and beef were good. But a bit disappointed with how the lobster is served. Don’t like the soup base. Foie gras on the toast is a no for my liking. This item spoilt the whole set dinner menu. When I reflect on the dining experience, I like the rock melon the best.

Tried its $1100 (for 2) teppanyaki lunch set. Every dish was perfectly cooked. As I didn’t take beef but finding the pork roll going with diced ginger & celery was surprisingly good (thanks for chef’s recommendation). Will definitely visit again and recommend others to try!

Yakiniku restaurant
Miyazaki Niku Honpo is a Japanese yakiniku restaurant that offers an all-you-can-eat experience featuring premium quality meats such as Miyazaki A5 and Kyushu Wagyu beef, as well as marbled Kurobuta pork. The restaurant's sleek space in Causeway Bay draws inspiration from modern and traditional architecture. The menu includes options ranging from Kyushi A5 semi-all-you-can-eat to the signature Miyazaki A5 Ouka Wagyu.
🍖 Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Miyazaki Niku Honpo, a Japanese semi-buffet restaurant that came highly recommended by a friend. We opted for the A5 Miyazaki Beef (90-minute lunch semi-buffet) priced at $398 (plus an additional charge). The quality of the food was exceptional, with the highlight being the top-quality beef. Here are some of the dishes we enjoyed as part of the set: 1️⃣ Japanese Chicken Offal: Indulge in a variety of flavorful chicken offal dishes, including the spicy chicken kidney, tangy chicken crown, savory black pork cheese sausage, and crispy chicken skin dumplings. 2️⃣ Japanese Vegetables: Savor a selection of fresh and seasonal Japanese vegetables, including Kyoto onions, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, assorted vegetables, green peppers, and okra. 3️⃣ Salads: Enjoy the Miyazaki Meat Honpo Japanese-style salad, cabbage salad, sesame tofu spinach salad, and tomato salad with soy sauce-pickled radish and burdock. 4️⃣ Appetizers: Treat yourself to a range of delectable appetizers, such as edamame, Hiroshima oysters, fried herb chicken, homemade A5 Miyazaki beef dumplings with black truffle sauce (spicy), spicy cod roe-stuffed chicken wings, deep-fried calamari rings, fried quail eggs wrapped in bacon, bite-sized fried cheese, Noto Unkai tempura, and Japanese-style soy sauce-glazed eggplant. 5️⃣ Rice Dishes (Using Japanese Rice): Savor the Matsuba crab meat tea-infused rice, A5 Miyazaki beef rice cakes in mountain thief sauce, and natural rice. 6️⃣ Noodle Dishes: Choose from the A5 Miyazaki beef tsukemen, Miyazaki spicy noodles (with chicken and egg), Kyushu sesame tossed noodles, and buckwheat noodles. 7️⃣ Desserts: End your meal with refreshing treats like yuzu shaved ice, homemade 3.6 milk jelly (limited availability), and traditional Japanese confectionery kashiwa mochi. 8️⃣ Beverages: Quench your thirst with a variety of drinks, including Calpis lychee soda, Calpis white peach soda, Calpis green apple soda, Calpis mandarin soda, canned Coca-Cola, canned sugar-free Coca-Cola, Kobe Tea House iced oolong tea, and Kobe Tea House iced green tea, as well as hot genmaicha. 💰 The total bill came to $398 per person, excluding a 10% service charge. 🥩 Miyazaki Niku Honpo offers an exceptional dining experience, showcasing the finest Miyazaki beef and a wide variety of delicious dishes. With its stylish ambiance and attention to detail, it's a restaurant that guarantees a memorable culinary journey.

We are having the Miyazaki A5 Ouka Beef All you can Eat set. The set come with a platter with 10 types of A5 Ouka beef including knuckle, Chuck, Chuck cap, Chuck Eye Roll, Short Rib, Short plate, Top Round and Bottom Round. The sukiyaki and the Sirloin are grilled and served by the server. The food quality is very good. Beef are so soft and juicy and they just melt in your mouth. By dipping the wasabi and sea salt, you won't feel oily. Besides the beef, you can also ordered fish, pork and chicken for grill and there are over 60 types of ingredients and drinks for you. The japanese salad, tempura and Chazuke are must try items. Last but not least, we have tried three different dessert, peach milk ice-cream, milk pudding and cheese tart, very yummy.

Great experience having dinner at this restaurant. Staffs were all helpful and can speak English. We ordered the all you can eat menu which had a big variety of wagyu beef selection and also other dishes and drinks to choose from. Alcoholic drinks are additional but otherwise, you can order as much as you like within 1.5 hours. The A5 wagyu was amazing, the marbling of some of the cuts were delicious. Basically melt in your mouth! We’re sitting at the side with tatami sitting which was very nice. Given the price and the quality of the food they served, I would definitely go back again if I visit Hong Kong again.

Located in the newly renovated Regent Hong Kong, NOBU Hong Kong offers stunning views of Victoria Harbour and a tastefully designed interior. The restaurant is famous for its unique blend of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine, with celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa's distinctive style evident in signature dishes like black cod with miso, rock shrimp tempura, and yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno and yuzu ponzu sauce.
Nobu offers an exquisite dining experience that is nothing short of spectacular! The presentation of each dish is a work of art, showcasing the beauty of the ingredients. Every bite bursts with flavor, perfectly blending traditional Japanese techniques with innovative culinary flair. It's truly fine dining at its best, where each course not only delights the palate but also pleases the eyes. A memorable experience that showcases the artistry of food!

It was a birthday dinner gathering. Picked its 4 courses tasting menu for hkd688 per head + 10% service charge. Selected a sashimi appetizer, a bowl of salad, a set of nigiri (sushi), soba and deep fried vegetables and dessert. The soba and the deep fried vegetables were normal. Nothing special. The dessert was a bento box with chocolate heart tart and green tea ice cream. Nothing special. Also ordered Black Cod saikyo yaki as a side dish. Saikyo yaki was good but a bit salty to me without a bowl of rice. The black cod itself was not very fresh. The sashimi appetizer consists of 3 little plates and each plate got 2 small slices of sashimi. Taste was reasonable but not impressive. The salad was average. The sushi set was extremely ordinary. Those sushi benton from Donki might be better some time. The worst part was to add hkd200 to upgrade the sushi set to premium. Only the shrimp sushi was impressive. Even the sea urchin sushi was pretty average. The atmosphere of this restaurant is stunning. Facing the night view of the Victoria habour to dine is absolutely remarkable. The service stands high. The waitress and waiter were helpful and responsive. It could be a bit noisy if other customers had a party there too as it only got an open dining area.

if you're looking for modern japanese (or japanese fusion) but tired of having traditional omakase, i think this is the place. they do very good fusion of food mix and match. with special sauces and seasoning to give some excitement to the dishes. if you've limited space (in your tummy) then i'd recommend to try more small plates (starter size) than the main. much surprises we found there like different kind of sashimi and salads. great to go with the cocktails. the hot dish wasn't bad but not as surprising as the small plates. there are some tables along the glass window which allowed you to look at the nice harbour view at night. but subject to availability upon arrival. more travel ideas, photos & videos👇🏾 follow me on ig: food.n.cats.not1less

The food was absolutely delightful! We especially loved the crispy rice cube with spicy tuna—it was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, making us want to order it again! The Umami Chilean Sea Bass was tasty too, though we found the Chinese translation a bit puzzling since it mentioned vegetables, but we couldn't find any on the plate. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. When we had a little mix-up with our order, one of the managers kindly offered for us to try the dish first, and if it was too spicy, he would happily swap it out for us. I really appreciated his thoughtfulness; I just wish I had caught his name to give him a shout-out! We were seated at a table in the second row, but we had a perfect view of the lovely harbor. Everything was just wonderful—great food, amazing vibes, and fantastic service. This was my second visit, and I'm already looking forward to coming back!

🌟 Delicious Nobu Experience in a Great Atmosphere! 🍣 I've had the pleasure of dining at many Nobu restaurants before, and as always, the food was quite delicious. Nobu's signature dishes, such as the Black Cod Miso and Yellowtail Jalapeño, met expectations and left a memorable taste. The freshness of the ingredients and the elegance of the presentation were top-notch. However, to be honest, within Nobu's "New-Style Japanese" concept, which is their modern take on Japanese cuisine, this was not the best Tradito (traditional sushi/sashimi) I've ever had. For those strictly seeking authentic, traditional sushi, other places might be more satisfying. On the bright side, the atmosphere was fantastic. The venue's design is sophisticated; the dim lighting and elegant decor create a perfect setting for a special dinner. The service was extremely attentive and professional, living up to the Nobu standard.

Went for my wife birthday. Booked the 6-8 session gotta to leave before 8pm. Good view atmosphere, ordered the anniversary special starting from 398$ not expensive in HK, but we added Wugyu A5 so was 650$ per person. Food quality is average good. Portion also alright, the appetizers were some small dishes and 3 pieces of sashimi average low quality than supermarket, the shrimp and steak are good as the price they charged. But services…..poor, mass production. The chef was like really hurry to do anything, no smile no greeting no talk even he is in front of you whole time. Waitress always busy, rushing, fast food type. I asked for toilet, the waitress didn’t even look at me or point the way, just said where. Then I nicely told the Manager, she was also busy check all receipts also without looking at me or acknowledge me at all.🤣 So expect fast food service. Don’t go will you want to relax, you will not. They may end their anniversary and charge much more, is not worth an extra dollar 🤣

Decent teppenyaki place with an amazing view. They were very accomodating to me as a non-beef eater, and switched out their items for pork. The scallop was excellent with a nice touch of cavier on top. The only thing was our lobster did not taste as fresh, but still yummy nonetheless. I also enjoyed the sugar toast as a dessert at the end. We enjoyed the teppenyaki lunch set, $1380 per person, which is quite pricey overall, but to be expected for teppenyaki.

Food was good. I found frog legs here which are not easy to see such dish. And all taste gorgeous. Service was excellent. Helpful staff kept checking if I’m happy with the food and anything needed. Atmosphere was not outstanding decorated, but it was really comfortable, tables were not too packed. Only little complaint about the table. The stand blocked the legs no matter which side you sat on. As a vegetarian, I did not think I would be able to get a great selection--but I was wrong! The service and attention to detail were amazing. Even to the point of saying I should have a different soy sauce that did not have fish paste but was made with vinegar instead! The food was delicious, beautifully presented and paced correctly.

Revisited and tried its new menu in Sep. We are surprised by its deep fried roasted pig though it is a bit oily. The dish is savoury and the meat is succulent. The Ginkou pork soup and barbecued Chasiu(pork) are the scrumptious. The scent of ginkou wafts from the soup because of its long timed cooked broth and high qualifies ingredients. The chasiu is not overcooked and the inner meat is still succulent with its crispy layer. Other dishes such as the deep fried lobsters and creamy minced crab are above average and culinary delights, not as spellbinding as the above mentioned dishes.

Modern Shanghai, a restaurant opened by 1957 & Co, offers a diverse range of Japanese cuisine including teppanyaki, tempura, and sushi. While some find the food to be average and the wait times long, others are impressed by the exquisite Shanghainese dishes such as seafood in a pumpkin and onion pancake. The service is quick and efficient with standout dishes like shredded chicken sesame noodles and xiao long bao.
Quick to be seated and the service was fast too. My favourite dish is the shredded chicken sesame noodles and the xiao long bao. The sesame tofu fa was also a delight, nutty yet sweet and very smooth.

Came with some locals and I now understand why they come here often. I enjoyed everything I had! Steamed pork dumplings were juicy and piping hot. Pan fried dumplings were yummy (skin was just a tiny bit thick, but still very good). Sweet and sour fish was crispy and sauce was done perfectly. Bathrooms are outside in the mall. Get your receipt to get your parking validated.

The place is decent. If you are a fans of yum cha, you can have a try. The cuisines are Shanghainese style which is quite different with Cantonese style. You should try the steamed xiao long bao or the pan fried pork bun which are amazing! Various kind of noddles and rices are also provided. The manner of waitress are quite good, they always keep refilling the water for you.

I have to start with a WOW. The shanghai food here is awesome. The “seafood in a pumpkin” is a must-have. It’s tasty, milk-creamy, and it’s full of seafood. The onion pancake is very good too. Pot-stickers are crispy and yummy. The soup dumplings are the best but watch out the soup is burning hot inside. If you come with a group, reserve a big table ahead of time. The big tables are by the window - the view is great. I thought the Shanghai noodles should be non-exciting but no they are really well cooked and delicious. Service is good. Food comes fast. I have no complaints at all. I’ll try other chef specials next time.

I'm not sure if it is because of health concern taste is less intense compare to traditional Shanghainese restaurant. I guess that is why they call themselves Modern? I think the banana in the desert ruins the flavour of the red beans. I love Shanghainese food and it is a bit disappointing.

This Shanghainese restaurant is popular. There is always have a line outside the restaurant. Have to wait for at least 30-45mins to get the seats during peak hours. Delicious food, especially the pan-fried XiaoLongBao, very juicy. Their fried rice is authentic too! Friendly staff with great service, convenient location. Worth visiting :)

TSUGU Teppanyaki & Sushi offers a vibrant dining experience with communal tables, elegant wooden decor, and intimate lighting. The chef-led showcase presents a delightful array of umami flavors that tantalize the taste buds. The restaurant provides lunch and dinner teppanyaki sets for one to three people, with the option to add on sashimi for a comprehensive Japanese culinary journey. Guests can enjoy an assortment of dishes including sashimi and salad before the chef's captivating cooking performance.
We came in a group of seven persons and were led to a nice but windowless room. The Teppanyaki chef was a lively chap who demonstrated master skill in Teppanyaki. One good thing about this restaurant is that they also provide sashimi and tempura dishes for order. The whole evening was filled with laughters and alcohol. Their price was very reasonable for such quality foods.

i was here for a business lunch, booked at 12.30. there are two teppanyaki sets for lunch to choose from - one slightly more expensive than another one, with abalone and another lobster, and different beef too. since we came in a group so we could order both and share around, to suit everyone's need. they first came with the sashimi with a surcharge $98, em, it was okay. then salad. then the chef started the cooking in front of us. they first made the seafood, and every thing de-shelled, so we didn't need to bother with dirty fingers and cleaning. fish was juicy and the skin very crispy; the lobster was nice. then one set got the foie gras, quite nice too and we're able to share. a clam soup to clean the palate, then it's the time for beef. without paying extra it's the thin beef with green onion wrapped inside; but then of course we recommend the thick tender A5 japanese wagyu. it's made medium rare as request and was very good! especially good to go with the deep fried garlic slices! but then started running out of time we had the fried vege and fried rice, and sweet toast. the sugar only stayed at the middle of the toast, i hope we could have it more even or even sweeter. the fried rice could be more in flavour too. then to end with a dessert which was a coconut pudding. overall we're happy with the meal, just toward the end it's a bit rush. follow me on ig: food.n.cats.not1less

Not those glamorous places but it makes you feel like home. Fresh seafood, grouper cooked with seaweed for the little sweetness. Prawn is my fav! Oh and the lime jelly and the beef 🥩 Don’t forget the thick creamy thick fish soup, superb! $800 per head. Recommended.

Atmosphere is really good. Ingredients are fresh as what it supposed to be. Staff are friendly and considerate. They are really good at small talks. Quite a number of customers bring their own sake. Highly recommend for a gathering with a small group of friends.

My third Omakase dinner. Raw fish very fresh. we pick the 13 course set. Price is reasonable to the location. relatively good price in relation to food quality. Chef very friendly though seats a bit clamped.

Generally a very typical teppanyaki restaurant. Price is reasonable. Food is fresh and with good quality. The horse head fish is something that havent tried anywhere. Good pick and recommend. The sashimi was fresh, thumb up. The chef is selective in engagement with customers. The server is a bit pushy to sell and suggest to take a step back lightly.

Mu is a new Japanese restaurant located in the bustling H-Zentre in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. The intimate space seats 14 people and offers attentive service from knowledgeable staff, including an in-house sake sommelier. The menu features jet-fresh ingredients such as Akasaki oysters, tuna cuts, and isa-ebi from Mie prefecture.
A feast for Japanese cuisine 😋 Actually I booked my dinner even before its opening, and it turned out to be the best choice in my dining history. Overall, the restaurant keeps the best freshness of the materials that everything was delivered from Japan. And the Chef, as the middleman between the material and the customer, knew how to match with the correct ingredients. In one word, you can totally trust the chef here!
Kevin H — Google review
Stepping into this seafood spot is a bit like embarking on a marine adventure with a slightly rowdy harbour festival just outside — think less refined dining experience, more enthusiastic local karaoke night. The raw fish, while not quite sashimi-grade, manages to hold its own and is reasonably fresh, enough to convince you that the fish had a good breakfast that morning. Now, the cooked dishes are where this place truly shines. The eel, in particular, seems to have taken lessons from the fishes of the Seine, tender and beautifully glazed, while the other cooked seafood dances a fine line between “home-cooked comfort” and “gastro-pub excellence.” And you’d better not miss the creative twists on Hong Kong classics — that prawn toast (蝦多士) is a delightful nod to local culinary heritage, elevating a humble snack to something bordering on genius. If you’re after a quiet supper overlooking the Thames, this isn’t it. But if you appreciate good grub with a background track of lively festivities, plus a cheeky homage to Hong Kong culture, then grab your chopsticks and dive in — just bring earplugs for the outside noise.
George H — Google review
Service was excellent, very attentive and friendly waiting staff. They patiently described all the dishes we were presented with and suggested best ways to eat them. Food was very good and sashimi was fresh but found the menus a bit steeper than what I had expected. The sashimi and sushi courses took up half the menu. We paid $2k per person.
Yvette L — Google review
The ambiance at Mu is quite nice, but the experience was underwhelming for the price. I found some of the seafood ingredients weren't as fresh as they should be, which is a major drawback for a Japanese restaurant. The service was passable but lacked attentiveness. Overall, considering the food quality and service, the value for money is quite low.

If you're on the hunt for an authentic Japanese dining experience in Hong Kong, look no further than God of Teppanyaki in Causeway Bay. With three locations across the city, this restaurant is a beloved choice for those seeking elevated teppanyaki meals. Gather around their elegant marbled tables and be mesmerized as talented chefs showcase their skills right before your eyes, turning meal preparation into a captivating performance.
God of teppanyaki ♨️ (cwb) Was craving Teppanyaki and found this on my newsfeed 🤤 We saw they had a special menu: Fuji Teppanyaki Set so we decided to give it a try. With this menu it comes with 10 courses - it came with lobster, wagyu beef, sashimi, and many more. You get a choice for your main protein, we got the US Steak🥩 Overall, the food was delicious - my favourite was definitely the fresh Lobster paired with their Signature Cocktail and US Steak 🥩🦞The US Steak was very tender and I love how they put it on top of bread to soak all the oil. The interior of this place is gorgeous, perfect to celebrations. Not only do you get to experience a chef👨🏻‍🍳 cook in front of you, you also get the gorgeous view of Kowloon side. 🏙️ Highly recommend checking this place out.

We visited this teppanyaki restaurant in Causeway Bay today. The entrance is stylish with a minimalist approach, in fact there was no-one in sight until you reach the bar area. The the greeting was warm and sincere. The staff are all very friendly and service tentative. The chef was professional, friendly and informative. There are multiple rooms each with 2 chef stations and 5 seats in front of each station. There are 2 rooms to the left that have views of the road and partial view of Kowloon which is very nice. The other rooms are walled so no views but it is nicely decorated. There were 2 of us so we had to share the table with someone else. Most people seem to order the set menu. The chef kept our food separate and cooked our food interchangeably so we are eating at the same pace without lengthy waits. Food is served as separate courses. The chef does not perform any tricks with the utensils but he does cook our food with care and skill. He also took time to highlight the source of the food, the best way to eat it and what sauce is most appropriate. Everything was cooked to perfection. I would allow between 90-120 minutes for the meal. We had a wonderful time. The restaurant is apparently named. It is indeed the god of teppanyaki. We would definitely go back. Highly recommended.
Andrew C — Google review
The food was fine, the chef was professional; however, it is unusual to charge for tap water. There were three of us, yet only one manual was provided, necessitating that we share it to read the instructions. It would be more considerate to provide each guest with their own manual. The most disappointing aspect of our experience was that we had not finished the last dish when the chef was still preparing the toast on the plate. The waitress prematurely handed us the cheque and requested payment, which I found to be rude and unprofessional. Such experiences are not expected in a restaurant of this caliber, reflecting poor staff training. I regret to say that I will not be returning.
Jake L — Google review
The restaurant was doing a 20% off deal for its dinner menu. We started the dinner with a very refreshing salad. My fiance had some sashimi while i got a pan-fried scallop. The abalone was fresh and the chef used three different ways to cook the abalone so we got to try the abalone in different textures and styles. The fish fillet was served with herbs and cream, which brought out its saline flavor but without the fishy taste. The lobster was served with fried angel hair and being taught by our chef, we also got to prepare a dish by ourselves! It was a very memorable experience and we had to thank our very friendly chef Samantha for that! Would definitely come back!

Our chef was really good and professional. As I had a temporary condition from raw food, the chef considerately cooked the food well done for me throughout the dinning experience without having to request. That’s a mega plus point for being a carjng chef, on top of the amazing cooking skills. Really enjoyed every single dish!

I had the lunch set and it was pretty good. However warning to budget at least 90mins for the meal. I gave up and left after 90mins w/o staying for the dessert. A suggestion to segregate customers with kids and customers w/o kids. I had to sit beside 2 kids who 1) broke a glass of water and 2) running ard and the chef had to stop the kids from running near the hot stove. Please ban adults who can’t or will not control the kids…

Lovely All You can Eat sushi and hotpot! Excellent service Free flow wine, drinks and tons of food variety. Overall everything was good. Loved the onsen egg with sesame sauce The scallops with glass noodles is insanely awesome Hotpot selection is good we had the century egg and chives which was awesome. The sashimi platter was good and relatively fresh Only very Minor issues - long leg crab is abit dry - oysters slightly edging on fishy - steam egg more Chinese style than jap. Good value for money overall. Mild cramp with slightly crowded spot. Overall good place in MK to get a lot of good food!! Come come

The sashimi did look fine at first sight. However, the oyster and octopus were pure disappointment. There was a hint of pungent taste on the octopus and I literally could not help but to spit it out, not to mention we were feeling a bit unwell right after consuming the oysters. As for the hotpot, it was just okay but the so-called wagyu was pretty underwhelming. Last but not least, we found out that some popsicles had melted before then being frozen again since the ice-cream was clearly not in place. To be honest, the staff were really nice and helpful, but I have to admit that the food was really meh (considering that we paid $4xx per person!)有一次冇下次

Sakara Ichi Sushi in Causeway Bay is a popular spot known for its well-rounded selection and reasonable prices. The seared sushi menu offers high-quality sashimi at surprisingly affordable prices, including options like seared salmon, eel, and scallop. In addition to the sushi feast, there are various sides available such as salmon donburi and spicy noodles. Despite being budget-friendly, the restaurant impresses with its tender and flavorful shogayaki beef rice bowl.
My 4th time here! Loved their sashimi platter; so instagrammable too! We also ordered grilled sushi and they tasted excellent! Don’t forget to book a table before you come though cuz they were quite popular!
Chloe A — Google review
Pretty good for the prices. Service is really good and it’s a very popular place. The eel sushi was the best by far. A lot of it is quantity over quality but none of the dishes were bad. If you’re after less than $300 a head sushi meal then it’s the place to come, if you’re looking for something more clinical or higher end then go elsewhere.
Lift_Run_Eat_ — Google review
Arrived around 7:30 PM. No waiting time, but the restaurant was full. We were seated at a shared table with two other customers, near the food service area. We ordered two sashimi rice bowls — portions were small and the sashimi was average. Also tried grilled pineapple skewer, which was a bit sour. It was a busy night. Staff passed by often and accidentally spilled drinks twice, which splashed on us. They gave us tissues and said sorry each time. They also bumped into us twice and apologized. Staff explained that seat arrangements were different tonight because of the crowd.

Don’t understand the good reviews on here! There are many better options for this price point. Minced tuna came out ice cold, raw prawns smelled bad, tempura were dry. The restaurant setting is cramp, worn, and not particularly clean.
W L — Google review
Nice fresh sushi for a reasonable price! The tempura set lunch is only $78, and it's really worth it. The tempura was fried perfectly: its nice, light and crunchy, but not oily. The sushi set ($178) also included uni, chu Toro and shrimp sushi, which makes this set well worth it. We will definitely be back again.

I just had the most amazing Japanese meal at a really reasonable price here in Hong Kong. It was at a local Japanese restaurant where I tried the shogayaki beef rice bowl. I was completely blown away by how tender and flavorful the beef was - it just melted in my mouth. The rice was the perfect accompaniment too. I really didn't expect to find Japanese cooking of this quality at such an affordable price point in Hong Kong. Definitely one of the best deals around - you have to check it out if you love authentic Japanese flavours done well on a budget. I'll be back again soon to try some other dishes from their menu!

The restaurant prides itself on its stunning presentation and flavorful dishes that leave guests thoroughly satisfied.
My friends and I were very satisfied. The food was delicious and the presentation was excellent. They use high-quality ingredients such as foie gras and caviar enough, but the price is very reasonable. Alcohol list is a bit needed to be progressed, but the food was great and every staff was very nice. It was even more convenient for us because there was someone who spoke Korean well. The restroom is very clean. I highly recommend this place and would like to visit again.

The chef's handling of ingredients and cooking techniques fully showcased the essence of teppanyaki. Highly recommend the $799 set dinner.
Ngan W — Google review
Came here for a dinner for 2 with the restaurant dining week offer of $398. The value offered in terms of food was excellent with abalone, sliced wagyu and foie gras toast. However sadly the sakura fried rice was sold out and substituted for something else. Service was super attentive and efficient. I did not prefer the way some of the dishes were cooked e.g. abalone and wagyu (too much spring onion) but this is done to personal preference as my brother liked it
Wilfred L — Google review
For a teppanyaki restaurant under HK$500 per head is good value. The portion sizes was decent too.
Henson L — Google review
I have been back to my home town, Hong Kong for a few months, and tried a lot of new and old restaurants but didn’t manage to find time or motivation to write a review but this restaurant really pressed my button. It’s a farewell dinner with our friends before we leave. I specifically chose this restaurant because my husband wanted to have Teppanyaki. We both had an amazing Teppanyaki in another restaurant and would like to find another good one. With 4.8 stars on google and 4.5 on OpenRice, what could go wrong? We ordered the ~ $3,000/2 people dinner set menu. What could go wrong? 1. Honesty. It’s stated in the menu that the abalone was LIVE. I saw a staff took one out from a red basket inside the fish tank. That’s strange, isn’t it? Why not those abalones adhered to the fish tank glass? It turned out that the abalone wasn’t moving at all. And the so called chef didn’t seem to think it was a problem. I was glad I was looking at the dead abalone instead of chatting with my friends. Not until I highlighted a few times that the abalone was dead, the chef asked someone to get us a LIVE one. That’s really bad. 2. The cooking a) The “chefs”. They looked so young that I wasn’t sure if they reached 20 years old. Why hiring young kids to be a “chef” when you are charging such a price? How much cooking experience have they had? It turned out that the abalone was chewy, the lobster was overcooked, the vegetables were tasteless, the fried rice was the worst I had ever had and much more b) the soup. I assume they cooked the soup with the lobster shell and the lobster meat (because I saw 20% lobster meat was left on the shell). Unfortunately the soup didn’t only taste nothing like lobster but was tasteless, totally bland!!!! We had to ask for salt (the customers next to us asked us to share the salt with them. How funny! 😂) but it still didn’t taste pleasant. The staff apologised. I was like apologised for what? The most interesting thing was he apologised but did nothing. 😂 didn’t offer to recook the soup, or give us a discount, or offer something else for us to eat. Nothing! 3. The ingredients Our set dinner was all about Wagyu beef. The main course was even of A5 grade. It’s creasy but tasted nothing like A5. I was particularly offended when I saw the pieces of so called wagyu beef to cook with the fried rice. They were not even chunks of beef but edges and fats that you will normally throw away! I would appreciate it if there would be some respect to the customers. After all, we didn’t pay $300/two people but $3000! 4. Service One word-rude, my husband commented. The only good thing in the entire dinner was the dessert! The two stars are for the dessert! This morning I sent the pictures to a girls’ group and one commented, “wow. It looks good. Where was it?” I responded, “it LOOKS good only. Don’t go there.” I am glad we entertained ourselves throughout the dinner or else our farewell dinner would have been completely ruined!
Susanna W — Google review
Food... Good quality with fresh ingredients. However, the sauce needs to be different for different dishes. Service... Friendly and efficient Atmosphère... A bit cramped. The ventilation needs big improvement. You will walk out of that place smelling like a tepanyaki dish yourself. Price... On the high side because of the environment, otherwise, the rating will be higher.

Went for flowrider. The flowrider office is actually upstairs behind. At first I thought there was nobody because the restaurant actually opens later but the flowrider opens at 10am. I would suggest putting up a sign to direct flowrider people to the office and avoid this confusion. So I booked a 9pm slot and arrived at 8.45. the staff was great and showed us around the locker area and available amenities. 1) RFID wristbands for lockers 2) Towels provided 3) Clean shower with body wash, shampoo and hair conditioner and a clean toilet. 4) Powerful hairdryer 5) The best of all, the clothes dryer, to dry my shorts and rashguard. The instructor Ben was awesome 👍. Just take note: 1) You're required to sign a waiver regardless of your surfing experience. 2) The flowrider surface is very slippery and will take a while to re-adapt for experienced riders. 3) No splashing of water towards the front (there's no barrier and there are diners right in front). Overall, this is the best maintained flowrider venue I've ever been to. The surface was clean with no algae, toilet, locker room were also very clean. Even the water pressure was good. Have been here twice. The drink menu has a lot of options and some are quite good, such as the berry coconut smoothie. The food is OK in general. The surfing is fun entertainment while you eat. But it makes the restaurant very noisy, so this may not be the best place if you're trying to have a conversation. The vegetarian curry (forgot the name) is the only thing I've really disliked. I tasted like the smell of handsoap in the bathroom of an aging church. They need to improve the way the herbs are used, I guess.

This is a total tropical escape in the city with indoor surfing, delicious authentic Thai dishes, a pet-friendly outdoor area and happy hour till 8pm! Highlights of our dinner included the Lemongrass Wagyu Skewers (HKD 65) with a magical satay sauce, the flavourful Shrimp Pad Thai (HKD 98), the warming Tom Yum Soup (HKD 128) paired with the buttery Roti Paratha (HKD 38), the luxurious Classic Mango Sticky Rice (HKD 68) and the refreshing Fresh Young Coconut (HKD 68).

This place serves a mixture of Thai and Vietnamese food. The food quality was a bit inconsistent. Some dishes were packed with flavor, but some were very bland. The chicken wings were disappointing, because it literally had no flavor. The service staff were efficient and attentive. Take note that if the indoor surfing pool is activated, it is very noisy indoors, and the whole place would smell like chlorine.

Everything was perfect until the food arrived. With an average price of over $100 per dish, the taste did not justify the steep price. Dishes were overwhelmingly salty.

Thank you for arranging such wonderful desserts tonight especially during the typhoon period. The presentation was truly impressive and while the food was satisfactory, the effort and thoughtfulness behind it were much appreciated. I would also like to commend your staff for being exceptionally friendly and attentive also their professionalism and warm hospitality made the evening even more memorable. We look forward to returning to experience the surf next time.

Kicho 希鳥 is a renowned kappo restaurant originating from Tokyo, with branches in the Ebisu and Ginza districts. The restaurant takes pride in its expertise in charcoal grilling and specializes in tori kappo dishes featuring Kuro Satsuma chicken from Kagoshima Prefecture. This particular breed of chicken is known for its optimal fat content and fine fibers, regardless of the cooking method used.
Very authentic, high quality Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere brings me back to the times i used to live in Tokyo. True taste of Japan. Large variety of Yakitori, finely made in the open kitchen in front of you. Great service and friendly stuff. You can watch the Chef preparing your food. Highly recommended if you like cozy places and high quality Japanese food ☺️

10/10 Best yakitori in town. The yakitori are from Japan, the living environment of the free ranged chicken leads to the unique taste and texture of the yakitori. The umami of the obi (chicken inner thigh) is excellent. The chef and sommelier are very nice. They can offer customised changes to customers who dont eat raw chicken/ internal organs. Yet i highly recommend you to try the liver cooked in a medium rare fashion. The creamy texture and the strong flavour are unique. You cant find somewhere else like Kicho in HK, it is the best, trust me.

Discovering Kicho (希鳥): An Exquisite Japanese Yakitori Kappo Experience in Central All chickens are delicious, but some elevate the humble bird to an extraordinary culinary journey. Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Kicho (希鳥), a superb Japanese yakitori kappo restaurant located in the heart of Central, Hong Kong. Specializing in the prized Kuro Satsuma free-range chicken, directly sourced from farms in Kagoshima, Japan, Kicho offers a unique 14-course Omakase menu that showcases the versatility and depth of chicken flavors, prepared with masterful charcoal grilling techniques. The 14-Course Omakase: A Celebration of Chicken Each course at Kicho was thoughtfully crafted, highlighting different textures, flavors, and cooking styles that brought out the best in the Kuro Satsuma chicken: 🐓 Charcoal chicken breast meat topped with Tosa vinegar-gelle and mullet roe The meal began with a delicate balance of textures — the chicken breast was lightly seared on the outside, maintaining a tender pink center. The tangy Tosa vinegar jelly and the salty, umami-rich mullet roe added layers of freshness and complexity, awakening the palate. 🐓 Chicken Neck Skewer Known for its muscular texture and rich fat content, the chicken neck was expertly grilled over charcoal, releasing a smoky aroma and a satisfying chewiness that deepened with every bite. 🐓 Yakitori - Sasami (Tenderloin) topped with salmon roe and wasabi The tender chicken fillet paired beautifully with the burst of sweetness from the salmon roe and the subtle heat of wasabi, creating a harmonious and memorable flavor profile. 🐓 Chicken Heart Skewer A true delicacy, each skewer required hearts from four chickens. The chicken heart’s springy texture and juicy interior were enhanced by the chef’s precise grilling, making it a standout dish. 🐓 Chicken Diaphragm Skewer This rare cut offered a unique, chewy texture. Seasoned with a special blend of spices, it provided a refreshing and unexpected taste experience. 🐓 Chicken Skin Wrapped Chicken Breast Skewer The crispy, charred chicken skin encased the tender breast meat, locking in moisture and flavor. The contrast of textures was delightful and indulgent. 🐓 Momo (Thigh) with Japanese pepper The succulent chicken thigh was paired with Arima Sansho pepper paste, a fragrant and slightly spicy condiment that elevated the dish with a refined kick. 🐓 Tsukune (Minced chicken) served with egg yolk Served with a raw egg yolk, this minced chicken skewer was both visually striking and delicious. The egg yolk added richness and silkiness, enhancing the natural flavors of the meat. 🐓 Deep-fried beancurd with chicken miso Crispy on the outside and soft inside, the tofu was coated with a unique chicken miso sauce, offering a rich and savory flavor that was a delightful twist on traditional tofu pdengaku. 🐓 Chicken soup, mixed chicken and cod meatball The chicken and cod meatballs floated in a clear, sweet broth that was soothing and comforting, providing a gentle palate cleanser. 🍑 Peach Sorbet This refreshing sorbet, with its perfect balance of sweetness and acidity, cleansed the palate and prepared the senses for the next courses. 🍜 KICHO special slow-cooked chicken soup Ramen The star of the ramen was the rich, creamy chicken broth, slowly simmered to extract deep, comforting flavors that embraced the noodles. 🍚 Truffle Chicken and Egg Yolk Rice Bowl A luxurious finale featuring seasoned minced chicken, egg yolk, caviar, and black truffle atop steamed rice. The combination was decadent yet perfectly balanced. Kicho’s interior design centers around bar seating, allowing diners to watch the chefs skillfully grill each skewer over live charcoal. This close interaction enhances the dining experience, making it both intimate and engaging. On the night of my visit, the atmosphere was lively and joyful, as two celebrities at the neighboring seats celebrated a birthday, adding a festive vibe to the evening. I’m already looking forward to trying Kicho’s Omakase lunch menu next time!

Love yakitori and visited this one for the first time for dinner. The venue was cosy with a handful of seats. Ventilation was good, this was most important. We particularly liked the grilled rice ball with hot chicken soup with parmesan cheese, it was very special and well recommended. Other special mentions include the liver and minced chicken. ❤️ We were served by Glory who was pleasant and helpful in recommending the skewers and sake. Would definitely come again.

I recently dined at an omakase chicken restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere. The restaurant was well-lit with soft lighting and tasteful decor, making it a great spot for a romantic evening or a casual night out with friends. The menu was diverse and offered a range of delicious chicken dishes, all of which were expertly prepared and presented. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in the preparation of each dish. Every bite was bursting with flavor and I was left feeling completely satisfied. In addition to the high-quality food, the service was top-notch. The waitstaff was knowledgeable and attentive, making sure that I had everything I needed and offering recommendations on the best dishes to try. They were also quick to refill drinks and make sure that I was comfortable throughout my meal. Overall, I would highly recommend this omakase chicken restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal and a great dining experience. Highly recommended. The chef found a great balance in flavours here in most of their dishes. They make you anticipate dish after dish what the next fusion will be like. They've nailed it and we will definitely be coming back for more. Sharing plates here to try more combinations is a much better way. Everything is worth a taste. We did suggest that they offer a Tasting set or an Omakase variety.

Dinner at ciclo! the atmosphere here is very cozy along with calming background music. We ordered 4 foods items in total and 2 cocktails! we have tuna tartare as the starter, along with the salmon roe bisque arancini. The tuna tartare is flavorful and fresh! have a hint of spicy, but have a good umami taste! really good combo to eat with the rice and nori crisp together! we also had this salmon roe bisque arancini as apetizer! the combination of cheesy flavor inside is delicious with the freshness of salmon roe on top, really a good combination to start the dinner! this is a really fresh start to welcome our main course! We then order the yellow chicken roll. This is a unique dish and turns out to be very tasty! the chicken along with the cauliflower combination blends really welll to give a savory flavor of the dish yet not too overpowering! a well balanced dish to eat at dinnee time. We then also have the nduja cavatli pasta, which consisted of prawn! this dish is also very fresh, and it gives a mix of different flavours, savoury and also a bit of sweet but blends well together as a main dish. We also have two cocktails which are tom yum and lychu hi! this is very unique as tom yum cocktail have lemongrass in it and definitely have a tom yum flavor! its not weird however, and have the nice balanced amount of alcohol in it! We also have the genmaicha, which have gin soda and wintermelon ! its very fresh not too strong not too mild of an alcohol, and have a bit of sweetness to the drink!

Ciclo was a complete surprise. A late night choice for dinner with a good friend without any recommendation. Small menu but the food was excellent. A combination of Asian and Italian. They served some of the best pasta that I have ever had. Service was also excellent. A good wine and spirit list. The only issue was that they promoted smoking by the use of hookahs in the restaurant. Reasonably priced by HK standards. Would happily return for another meal.

The attentive staff ensures that every need is met, providing impeccable service throughout the evening. Let's start with the Tuna Tataki. The dish is a work of art, featuring perfectly seared slices of tuna delicately arranged on a bed of fresh greens. The tangy and slightly spicy dressing complements the tender fish, creating a burst of flavors with every bite. It's a refreshing and light starter that is sure to awaken your taste buds. Next up, the Crab Meat Spaghetti. This dish is a true seafood lover's delight. The pasta is cooked to perfection, al dente and generously coated with a rich and creamy crab sauce. The succulent pieces of crab meat add a delightful sweetness to the dish, while the hint of garlic and herbs brings out the flavors even more. It's a harmonious combination that leaves you craving for more. Now, let's talk about the star of the show, the Cripsy Beef Rip. This dish takes steak to a whole new level. 🇫🇷🇭🇰 If you are looking for a place with a warm yet modern setting, this is it. ✨ Truffle Brioche ✨ This is a true indulgence. The pillowy, earthy brioche is the perfect base for the lightly seared scallop, drizzled in bright scallion oil. The layer of aged cheddar cheese is a nice touch to the show. The interplay between the savory, umami notes of the truffle and the rich, tangy cheddar is simply divine. Gotta say each bite is a delightful contrast of textures. 🦀 Uni and Crab Meat Pasta 🍝 The al dente pasta is coated in a rich, umami-packed sauce made with the briny sweetness of fresh uni and delicate chunks of succulent crab meat. It gives a delightful balance of richness and vibrancy. For seafood enthusiasts seeking an exceptional pasta dish, this is a must-try. 🥩 USDA Prime Sirloin 🥩 The meat is remarkably tender, with a buttery soft texture that seemingly melts on the tongue. Seasoned to perfection, the Sirloin requires no distractions, allowing the inherent qualities of the USDA Prime grade to shine and leaving steak enthusiasts craving more!

The overall dining experience left much to be desired. Out of the 8 dishes we tried, 6 were unfortunately underwhelming, with flavors that felt uninspired and lacking the finesse expected at this price point. Dishes that fell short: - Beef and Shiso Tartare - Truffle Brioche - Tomato and Burrata Salad - Uni Crab Meat Rigatoni and Cheese - Seasonal Dessert 1 - Seasonal Dessert 2 While the presentation of the dishes was decent, the taste did not match expectations. The quality and attention to detail in the flavors simply weren’t there. Additionally, the environment was not ideal. The air conditioning was dripping water, which made the dining experience uncomfortable. Given the combination of mediocre food and maintenance issues, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant at the moment. Hopefully, they can address these concerns and improve in the future.

Does it worth 750 per person for 1.5 hours? Debatable. First of all, we booked 2030 but cannot be seated till after 2045 but they stop you from ordering 2130 sharp. Therefore, you really only have 45 mins of buffet. Second of all, you are limited to how much you can order. 12 items max each order. Each tray of beef has 3 slices. The app also bans your from ordering too frequently. You get locked out for 2 mins from ordering. The first tray of beef was excellent quality. Can tell there were differences from subsequence trays, not as great but still really good! I would revisit but probably only for lunch at a cheaper price

Visited this new restaurant for lunch in early May when it just opened, but the experience was disappointing. The $108 set menu I ordered was misleading - it was explained to me as an all-you-can-eat set for the type of meat (beef / pork / chicken) you choose, but turned out to be just a limited portion set with only 4 thin slices of beef!! So, I upgraded to the $178 all-you-can-eat plan, but encountered issues like: 1) unclear cooking instructions on paper vs staff (contradictions on whether to add meat or sauce first) 2) unstable sukiyaki pot temperature: staff has turned the heat so high that beef got stuck to pot once I added it in 😓. And for the whole meal, I have to frequently re-adjust the temperature (higher and lower) 3) QR code ordering system has malfunctioned By the end, I was too exhausted to even try the desserts. 😣 As a new restaurant, they need to improve their menu clarity and train staff on customer service. Unless you just want basic (hot pot style) dishes like fish balls, mushrooms, vegetables, I wouldn't recommend the limited portion $108 lunch set. Though the $178 option is all-you-can-eat, but the meat quality is really mediocre especially given such price. __________________ IG: #roamardtheworld #roamardtheworld_food #roamardtheworld_japanese

Great trying out Nadagogo a Japanese izakaya that opened in Wan Chai a year ago. I had their Hokkaido Seafood on Rice Bowl Set ($268). Nicely presented with a great range of fresh tasty cuts of sashimi. Rice was fragrant as well, and the chawanmushi was very moist and flavorsome. Nice miso soup and sauteed vegetables to go with the set. Overall a very nice quality and filling Japanese lunch set. Nice cozy izakaya feel and friendly staff. 8 out of 10!

Originally, our group of five made a reservation two weeks in advance through OpenRice. The day before our meal, we received a confirmation call as per standard procedure, but the staff did not inform us about the seating arrangement. When we arrived, they seated us at the bar counter, which left us feeling very confused, especially since we noticed empty tables both indoors and outdoors. Their arrangement seemed completely unreasonable. The staff then blamed us for not specifying our seating preference during the reservation, claiming they couldn’t accommodate us because all other seats were fully booked. We were forced to make do with the situation. I found their handling of the situation very inappropriate. During the confirmation call, they never asked about our seating preference, and when I questioned them about it, they had no response. To make matters worse, when we left the restaurant, we saw that some outdoor tables were still available. Their poor and thoughtless arrangement made the entire dining experience extremely uncomfortable. As a result, we only ordered a few dishes and one drink per person before quickly settling the bill and leaving. Despite ordering just a few items, our total bill still came to over $1,000. To be fair, the quality of their food isn’t bad. If their seating arrangements were handled more thoughtfully and professionally, I believe we would have had a much more enjoyable experience and would have happily continued spending our time and money there.

Nadagogo is a rather popular izakaya in Wanchai, Hong Kong, probably because of the outdoor seatings available. Online reservation is straightforward. The dimly lit restaurant has a very high ceiling. Servers are friendly and patient. Food is not cheap and quality is a bit inconsistent. The yakitori skewers taste much better than the seafood dishes. While the Sashimi 5 Types Platter ($488/platter) and Jet-Fresh Japanese Oyster (HK$138/pc) both taste fishy, the Grilled Buri Kama (HK$188) is rough in texture, the Chicken Neck (HK$42/skewer) is still raw! Highly recommend the bouncy Chicken Tail (HK$57/skewer), the super soft Chicken Liver (HK$38/skewer), and the crunchy Minced Chicken Stick (HK$58/skewer). For a HK$1,200/person dinner, there are definitely many better options in town.

My husband and I tried out Nadagogo and had a great meal! We sat at the bar counter and it was fun to watch the chefs prepare the food. The yakitori does take a little bit of time to prepare so we enjoyed some excellent starters first. The sashimi platter was fresh and delicious and we also loved the mentaiko egg roll. The egg was silky smooth and oozing with rich mentaiko. Our favorites out of the yakitori were the chicken oyster, chicken meatball, and the mochi pork roll! The pork roll was so good we had to order seconds! Service was also friendly and efficient. Nadagogo is a great addition to Ship Street and we look forward to returning.

The sushi chef showcased remarkable skill, and the ingredients used were incredibly fresh. Given its prime location, I found the menu to be reasonably priced. The restaurant features a lovely design and the service was excellent throughout our visit. Plus, it’s conveniently located just a minute away from the Exhibition Centre Station. It is definitely one of the top choices for Japanese food in the Wanchai area!

We visited MINATO in Wanchai over the weekend and tried both of their seasonal Torio Bento lunch sets. Each was a work of art – served in an elegant 3-tier porcelain jubako box, with flavours and presentation that felt as thoughtful as the interiors themselves. The Nashi Bento started with a delicate Miyazaki wagyu tartare layered over crisp Japanese Nanshui pear and topped with a sashimi-grade Nagasaki egg – indulgent yet fresh. The middle tier featured a seasonal sashimi donburi over perfectly cooked Hokkaido rice, and the bottom layer, a chilled Kyoto tofu draped in the chef’s secret sauce, was a standout. The Ume Bento was equally impressive. The highlight was Isoyaki abalone, slow-cooked overnight in umami broth until tender and full of flavour. It also featured sashimi donburi and refreshing cold ume somen, perfect for the summer heat. If you're looking for a new place to try for lunch on the weekend, definitely give MINATO a chance!

Obsessed with the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Seriously, it was the most tender, flavorful beef I've ever tasted. I've always been a huge fan of seafood, so I was particularly excited about the King Prawn and South African Abalone in the Tsubaki Teppanyaki Weekend Set. They didn't disappoint! 🍤 The quality was exceptional, and the chef's preparation really highlighted their natural flavors. 🔪🇯🇵 The whole set was amazing (HK$738 per person, two-person minimum), but that Wagyu was the star of the show. If you're a beef lover, you NEED to try this. 🥩❤️

Went to Minato to try their limited-edition Weekend Torio Bentos (Nashi and Ume), available in only 20 servings per day. The first thing that stands out is the three-tier globe-shaped porcelain jubako box. It’s beautiful—almost too elegant to open—but inside, each tier offers a different layer of flavors, making the experience feel both exciting and carefully curated. For me, the Sashimi Donburi was the best part of both sets, packed with super fresh striped jack, minced toro, and salmon roe atop a bed of fluffy Nanatsuboshi rice. If anything, I wish the portions were a little larger because the flavors were so good, I found myself wanting more. If you’re looking for a seasonal Japanese meal with an elegant touch, it’s definitely worth checking out—just be sure to book ahead, since servings are limited.

Amazing Teppanyaki experience here. Front row seat towards the chef’s master craft. Starting with some light and interesting appetizers, followed by a trio of fresh and sweet sashimi. My favorite had to be the ginormous tiger prawn with lots of roe! Cooked and seasoned perfectly with a very nice sweet sour spicy sauce to dip. Another underrated dish was the fried rice, great wok hei and very savoury. Definitely recommend for quaint date nights or intimate gatherings

Sanka Teppanyaki is a unique dining destination that seamlessly combines traditional Japanese teppanyaki with classical French cooking methods. The restaurant, run by a skilled Japanese chef with over a decade of experience in France, offers an authentic East-meets-West fusion experience. Its elegant decor features velvet chairs adorned with traditional cloud patterns and incorporates copper and rose gold accents throughout.
We have booked this place for lunch. The lunch set is on the expensive side but worth it. We have zhe surf and turf. The food quality and presentation is great. The lobster taste fresh and the rice is yum. The beef is also nice. Worth a visit.

the lunch set is a steal the fish lobster and beef are all good as that in Japan and rge preparation of the fresh food in right in front of your noses. Immaculate service and great presentation. QuTity is at the perfect level and what a great middle stop of the day

The steak is the best I’ve had in Hong Kong. Other courses in the set are a bit up (eel) or down (some with excessive sweet sauce) but overall a great experience in the private room.
王浩禾 — Google review
Excellent cooking (especially) by Chef Ami (Japanese). There is a hint of French with the liberal use of sauce, which tastes excellent. The dishes are prepared with skilled variations from what we are used to (I don’t want to be too detail, as you may wish to explore as an adventure). The fried rice is very simple which is actually refreshing, better than traditional one with egg and green onion. Menu is pricy (HK$1,500+ per set) but considering Price-Performance, I will visit again. Please note my 5 Stars all go towards the Chef’s cooking and the food. The only thing is the Manager is a bit pushy on the menu. A minor issue but without it then the whole experience is perfect.

I went there today (Sunday). Although the web page stated they are opened from 6 pm to 11 pm, to my surprise they were closed Sunday. It is so easy to make changes to the website. I wish they would take the time to do it.

Restaurants in Central are quiet at night during weekdays. We came to Sanka on a Wednesday night in group of 4 people. There were only 4 of us in counter area for whole night. Food and service were average. Much more pricey than the top teppanyaki restaurants in Japan. Can’t help to think that HK has become not competitive... things are too overpriced.

A decent restaurant serving Japanese food at a reasonable price in this part of the city. Nothing really impressive but certainly a safe choice for a nice seating and service. Food is average and premium chained restaurant feeling. Ambience is quite nice though and not too noisy and a good place for chatting and food. Servers were helpful but rush for some reason. Outside is a place for drink and feel nice.

very crowded and noisy bar outside but once they close the door, the interior dining area is surprisingly quiet and in good mood. Nice lighting and music . Absolutely delicious authentic Japanese cuisine housed within a dark yet cavernous and vibrant atmosphere. The wide variety of Tepanyaki set lunch menus were all reasonably priced for business meetings and the generous portions left us satisfied. Sashimi Donburi was fresh and the Eel was cooked with just the right amount of crispness. Seating was comfortable and the staff was both friendly and eager to accommodate. Overall well worth the experience. Needless to say i will be going back again to try other menu items. 😋

We were a little reluctant to have Japanese on Christmas night but we were glad we went. It was the first restaurant we went to that offers sushi, teppanyaki and yakitori at the same time. We were a bit skeptical as we ordered a teppanyaki fixed menu and a yakitori fixed menu. When the food started coming, we were impressed. The teppanyaki courses turned out to be actually kaiseki courses. They were excellent. The yakitori items were very good too. The staff was very nice and patient with our special requests. The only downside for us was the overly abundant quantities of the fixed menus. We were stuffed and ended up bagging the last couple items.

Chill atmosphere. Once you walk past the bar, to one side is the teppanyaki and to the other is the sashimi bar. Got the cheapest omakase ($680), the sashimi were fresh, but not a whole lot of variety in terms of fish type. Plates are very nice? Would like to try a similar price point omakase at sushi Ono and see how the two compare.

Enishi is a fresh addition to the city's dining scene, offering an exceptional teppanyaki experience. The restaurant is situated in the lively Sheung Wan district and is led by three skilled Japanese chefs: Shun Sato, Toru Takano, and Ami Hamasaki. The name 'Enishi' translates to fate in Japanese, symbolizing the serendipitous meeting of the three chefs while working in Australia.
We came a few times already and I highly recommend the place to every one. The restaurant is run by a Japanese couple that you can find their stories on the internet. Very high quality food and services, relaxed environment and super clean.

Disappointing Teppanyaki Experience I recently dined at Enishi and was left quite disappointed. We opted for the $888 course and were seated in a corner, which felt less than welcoming. Our chef was Chinese, and while I had hoped for an engaging experience, the initial dishes were brought out by staff without any explanation or interaction. To add to the disappointment, I noticed that the table next to us, who ordered the $1488 course with much better service. It made me wonder if the price difference came with a noticeable upgrade in both food quality and hospitality. Overall, I didn’t feel that the $888 course was worth the price. In hindsight, it might have been better to spend a little more for the $1488 option to enjoy a more comprehensive dining experience.

Not bad. Nothing too surprising, but good experience overall. I like the udon the most. The cheeseburger is just like the one at golden gip, but I like the golden gip one and I like this one too.

Shocking behaviour from the staff to just slam the cheque on the table of our 6 person birthday dinner party when it was near closing time and we had not even asked for the bill yet. To add insult to injury, they even put the cheque next to the birthday girl while she was taking photos! Food was overpriced for what it is and very cramped. I'd avoid this unless it's a Typhoon 8 and they're the only source of food you can find. The best dish was the sashimi which requires minimal cooking as far as I am concerned.

Great, high quality food that is prepared meticulously by a couple on the teppanyaki grill with some fusion elements. Nice music and relaxed ambience in a modern Japanese setting. We had the fish (crispy skin) and Wagyu lunch set. Really like coming here and will come again.

Pretty chill vibe and good food. The fusion of Japanese food taste refreshing and fun. Unfortunately, the service is a bit behind the price. The waitress keep checking my table and asking me if I’m finished. Even I’m in Avery good conversation with my date, they still interrupted few times😆😆 this is the first date dinner I finished in 40min.

Gene was super helpful and friendly- she managed to squeeze me and my friend to the bar table and made really good food recommendations for our first visit!! We followed her advice and everything was so great and a good balanced meal of cold dishes such as sashimi and drunken prawn but also hot dishes like pan fried fish and prawn toast. Already recommending my friends to come!

With the very strict limited dining time was kinda a turn-off. Have asked about the flexibility of the dining time if no further booking was scheduled, but the staff are not too helpful on that. Very little help on the menu about food and drinks when seated, maybe the staff was still inexperienced with the menu. Didn’t know about their special sake until the end, where we were about to leave. Lots of improvement needed for a restaurant in this location

yashima omakase ! We started off our dinner by having this appetizer consisting of asparagus, snail, squid, and seaweed. Everything was really fresh and both the snail and the squid are not fishy at all! Then we move on to snapper sashimi with sea urchin egg yolk sauce! The sashimi was very fresh combined with the creaminess and the flavour of sea urchin and egg yolk, works really well together!! We then move to a grilled yellow tail with caviar and gold covered shrimp! Definitely one of the dish of the night! wow the caviar covered shrimp is sweet and savoury at the same time, really an amazing combo together. Then you have the grilled yellowtail, which is so flavorful, umami flavor, and really perfectly cooked! We then moved on to mackerel tartare! its really balanced flavoured, really a well rounded dish! it works very well as a combo with the spring onion! We then have a grilled golden eye snapper ! its juicy and flavorful and produce that amazing umami flavour! this is definitely one of the best dish of the night too! We then have monk fish liver! it was surprisingly really well seasoned, savory and sweet and not fishy at all!! We then have uroko yaki style fish with seaweed sauce! Its really crispy and have a lot of flavour on the skin and very tender and well cooked inside of the fish meat! this is combined with the seaweed sauce that give the extra freshness to the dish Then we move on to the sushi! we got fish sushi with wasabi, which translates really well together Then we have the shrimp sushi! The shrimp is fresh, well seasoned, and tasted really good together! Then we have the kumamoto shoshan fish sushi! Its very unique texture and really nice and fresh yuzu seasoning resulting in sweet flavour! Then we have another fish sushi (backthroat seaperch fish)! this time its seared, bringing out the extra flavour out of the fish! it has that fatty but at the same time not too fatty flavour! just about right! Then we had two different kind of tuna sushi, one is the lean meat one is more on the fatty meat! both are great in their own ways! one is definitely more flavourful , but the lean cut is more light and easy to eat too! Then we have one of the dish of the night! sea urchin sushi with wasabi! its so creamy and it taste like ocean in your mouth! Then we have the egg! it was surprisingly and nicely sweet! a very fresh sensation! We then have the miso soup which is refreshing to end the night before moving on to the dessert which is mango and melon!

The day was rainy and I got wet from the rain. The AC was blasting and I was a little cold. Chef noticed and asked the staff to turn down the AC for me. Details like this was what I’d give 5 stars for. Food was fresh and yummy. We got the more expensive menu for lunch and it was a lot of food. We are very satisfied. I had a teppakyaki lunch for two set yesterday, which is $1180 for two. The set got abalone, lobster, foie gras, beef , fried rice and veggies. The abalone is ok, lobster is slightly overdone, foie Gras is melting into the mouth, beef is tender and soft. And the fried rice and veggies are ok. I was expecting more as lots of reviews said it is hidden gem, overall is quite ok. Something I don’t feel good is the timing of serving, my friend was having the second courses while I was still waiting, and I can smell the cigarette smoke while I was having last two courses.

The food is good but I personally think the service is just okay. The waiter accidentally stepped on me without apologizing and he spoke quite fast (I usually won't notice the speed of the waiter spoke) causing me to not understand what he said. In addition, there are tons of small insects (i.e. flys, ants) in the restaurant. From the pictures below, the food looks very well and tastes great. It is just that the service and environment need improvement.

The interior is very nice and compact, the staffs are friendly. The deep fried set is good, I tried the ten piece set which is $498, it got assorted seafood and veggies. All of them are very juicy and tender, not so oily at all, and the bread crust is thin, the chef did a good job at deep fry. Recommended!

It is not easy to find a deep-fried skewer restaurant in Hong Kong. The choices are limited. I had a omakase menu and tried the seasonal deep-fried skewers in Tsim Sha Tsui. The chef was Japanese and professional! He has the technique to cook the skewers crispy but not oily. Appreciate his attention to customers! The place is great for celebration and having an authentic taste of Japan. Hope to see something different in the next season. Definitely coming back in the future😊

it's a restaurant specialty on japanese style deep fried skewer. it's posh inside and counter seats that could look at the chef while cooking. the environment was quite nice. we ordered an omakase set which included 12 skewers, an appetizer, a main (udon or rice bowl) and dessert. it was $698 + 10% i think the price was not bad. they do order more dishes and skewer in a la carte manner. the chef showed us the skewer in raw for photos first, then they start doing the set. we could see how they dip in batter, wrap and fried etc. then the skewer was served one by one. the pace was controlled quite well which we could relax and chatted a bit, then ate, then pause and chat again. the prawn and fish are always my best pick. the asparagus was surprising too. all were with thin batter, crispy and keep fresh inside. i was full before the main came! overall quite satisfactory.

The popular “kushiage” (deep-fried skewers) restaurant < Kushitei > from Tokyo has opened their first overseas branch in Hong Kong! They are currently open only at night, and mainly offer two omakase menus of 10- and 12-course skewers ($498 and $698 per person), both including 3 kinds of appetizers, a homemade mochi tofu, a rice or udon and a dessert. Sooo fulfilled and satisfied! The 12 skewers we had were all served hot and fresh, and the batter was thin enough to allow us taste the real flavors of the ingredients. My personal picks are the [ Wagyu sirloin with truffle sauce ], [ Angel shrimp ], [ Kelp with herring roe ], [ Salmon with salmon roe ] and [ Abalone ]! 〔 Follow me on instagram @sikbaobaola ! ^^ 〕

Kaiseki restaurant
Japanese restaurant
RyuGin Hong Kong offers an upscale Japanese dining experience in the heart of Hong Kong. The restaurant is elegantly furnished with a blend of earthy and golden tones, aiming to bring the Tokyo dining atmosphere to its guests. The menu features top-class Kaiseki cuisine, consisting of 12 courses made from seasonal Japanese ingredients. Despite not always reaching the Michelin level of Japan, the meticulous preparation and attentive service ensure a terrific dining experience for visitors.
regardless of what kind of cuisine one likes, from a pure technique perspective, Ryugin is without doubt one of the most accomplished in Hong Kong. Its boundless choice of ingredients is as well worth a mention. my second visit here and still a satisfactory experience. I agree with some former reviews that the next table could be a little bit noisy (usual phenomenon in upscale restaurants usually in TST accommodating high rollers from the other side of the border), stepping sound in the corridor also cause much distraction; but reflecting these on the rating is just unhealthy to the culinary scene.
Alan C — Google review
Top class Kaiseki - 12 courses of seasonal Japanese ingredients. Attentive service. While the ingredients are at times not quite at the Japan Michelin level, the care and skill of preparation certainly is. Terrific.
王浩禾 — Google review
Compare to the Ryugin Tokyo, this place was definitely a disappointment. The overall course was just okay, nothing amazing. The only dish worth mention was the apple dessert. Service overall certainly wasn't Michelin worthy. There were many loud noises in the dining room. Servers shoes was making distracting sound. The service overall lacked attention to detail.
Haku E — Google review
We went here again after a good dinning experience around 5 years ago, however this time have to say it was a disappointment... Food is up to standard (notably the dessert is very nice), though a bit pricy but worth the quality without flying to Japan (HKD 5400 for 2 without much drink). The service needs lots of improvements- 1. In the middle of service the waiter looks a bit rushy explaining dishes for us, made an impatient look that ruin the experience. 2. Our tea cup was never refilled throughout the meal, prob after we reject the recommendation of trying their hkd1,000 bottle tea? 3. What is most unbearable, after signing the credit card I was explicitly implied I should add in "tips" twice, while 10% service fee was charged. It's ok I know in fine dinning normally the waiter earn by tips and I normally do give a few hundreds. However after 1&2 not really in a mood to give extra (after HKD5000+ for 2 ppl). While being asked the 2nd time, I have to say explicitly the service is just soso therefore I leave it blank. What is shocking was when the same waiter returned my parking ticket there was not a single word but put straight the ticket on the table and left. We got engaged here so it got lots of emotional value for us, while working in the same building and live just next door, I always avoid coming here for business purpose and save it for our special occasion. Initially trying to establish a tradition of coming here every year for anniversary but now may simply not come back again and advise colleagues not to. Hope it can be improved for others in the future though.

The food was exquisitely nice. The ingredients were seasonal. I also have been to Ryugin in Tokyo before. I still prefer the Tokyo branch. But here the table is spacious. Easier to book. I almost don't want to review this restaurant because it's one of the best I've ever eaten. It is traditional Japanese cuisine in a fancy atmosphere. Each dish is a work of art and they are all delicious. It's expensive, so be prepared; but it's worth it.

Do go and have a try before they close in late June! (Original) 攤凍左少少先食但都好好食,榛子醬搽滿每一塊煎餅,香蕉都足料,唔覺得好似網民講到咁差。香港做小食唔容易,做到6月尾,會再幫襯!
