I’m 34 now. Back then, it was fun and had a unique soft drag-bar aesthetic downstairs—chandeliers, seating, and an inviting, comfortable vibe of a welcoming gay bar. The chain decor and terrible flashing LED lights that replaced the chandeliers seem to be have installed for Halloween party and never taken down. The bathrooms are in HORRENDOUS condition—broken fixtures, flimsy stalls, awful sewer smells, and harsh after-2am-style lighting that makes the whole experience unpleasant and sobers you up and has you questioning why you are there. They desperately need a full renovation. Upstairs, things aren’t much better. The DJ has seen better days, the floors are sticky, and service at the upstairs bar is very poor. I was even served a flat drink right out of the bottle, and when I politely mentioned it, I got attitude instead of a fix. The pool tables are fine, everything is sectioned off to make it feel busier than it is. The culture and energy of the place just isn’t what it used to be. Unless changes are made soon, I worry what’s going to happen to this venue. I just want it to get back to the Twisted vibe we all knew and loved. The staff are very professional and engaged and able to answer any questions you have. We got 6 dishes between 3 of us which was a good amount. We started with the beat salad, which was a favorite of ours, the whipped feta with it and the nuts were all a great texture and flavor combination together. The eggplant sticks were highly recommended, however, we found them a bit disappointing, texture was great, but lacking flavor. The burrata was tasty, but I wish that it came with more than just a jelly with it, having more elements would make it pop more. It was very sweet and under seasoned in my opinion. Night 4 was the same. I was stuck at the back of the crowd when Adrian came up to say hi. I asked him for help and he cleared the waters for me, getting me an even better vantage point than I started with. Amazing guy and I hope he is there next year!

The event was called Rep Ur Kin. There were street dance battles, exhibitions, showcases, cyphers, and live deejays. This venue is perfect for events like this as it created a more intimate atmosphere for the battles and pockets of cyphers while at the same time not feeling so overcrowded. Where do I even begin. Once you get to the address you don't really know what to expect, but once you open the door into the place, you get this unique vibe that is quite memorable. Food: oh man, where to start. Basically, you can’t go wrong. For a table of 4, we tried the shrimp toastie, calamari, beef tartare, and… something else yummy (don’t recall what it’s called). We ordered the Okonomiyaki Tater Tots which were pretty good with an interesting flavour and a nice crunch. I also had a peanut butter stout that was nice to sip on. The fundamental issue was the service as their system was down. As the waitress at the end of our meal said "Honestly, we should have closed". They probably should have. It took us around 45 minutes to get our food and about half an hour for the bill. At multiple points, we had to stand up to get their attention and only then the servers would be there. They also did not have the corn-cheese sauce or slaw as it described in the menu (photos of what i received vs. what the menu described attached). When I later spoke to a manager about this she informed me that they were out of these ingredients, but this was not communicated from the server at all, otherwise I would’ve ordered something else. My friends enjoyed their food though and the fries were good! Although the server never checked up on us to quality check, bring napkins or cutlery, or anything until they were done eating. The bill the server brought included these wings which a manager (who was quite nice!) ended up comping which I really appreciate! Overall it was a poor experience unfortunately, I as a server, hate to leave bad reviews but I think the server needs to work better on her service and being friendly to her guests.

Our server was very friendly and had a great flow of his visit frequency at the tables. We decided to back on something and got the lamb souvlaki sliders. Not bad but they could be vastly improved with two small fixes that would hardly raise the cost per unit total the establishment. They were a bit dry and bland. The easy fix is about 75% more tzatziki and a pinch of the seasoning salt that so famously comes on any street souvlaki or gyros. It’s a great environment with a great set up and sound system.
