I've been working with Gurneet and Cheryl for sports team travel for a couple of year and we had nothing but positive experience with them from booking stage to our stays. They are very flexible and willing to help and accommodate whenever needed which is more appreciated that they ever imagine. Well they emptied the bin. I went to the front desk and they said oh they wont have thrown it out we will look for it and she will tell her manager. Okay... so next morning, the front desk agent either didnt put it in the pass on and never told the manager because the front desk was like no we dont know anything about this, I say okay we will go for breakfast then talk, they say houskeeping said we called and asked for our rooms to be cleaned so thats why they cleaned it, but they will still look for our clothes. So they say there is nothing we can do but contact our managers because they are all gone for training. So we check out. I call as I havent heard anything, this time they say housekeeping told them that we came back and we had taken our DND off the door, I said that is impossible becuase we were out all day. Fast forward like a month and the FD supervisor and I talk. She agreed it is frustrating and I thought she said she would reimburse us $125 and as her GM if she can add points. I accepted this. Next I find out she says that we had agreed on Marriott points, to compensate for THROWING OUT MY FAMILYS CLOTHES! Anyway here we are, they dont care, they gave me 7000 points which is the equivalent of $56 Canadian Dollars. Never going there again and it is the lying and lack of response that makes this a terrible hotel.

For a long weekend tournament we stayed at this Marriott property that boasted a variety of amenities. Little did we know ALL of these are being utilized for other revenue streams. A small pool, our group was unable to use due to private swimming lessons, a lounge area that rented a portion of the room for painting lessons at dinner time. Staff was nice and polite, but spend your money elsewhere if you value the use of hotel amenities during your stay. This hotel cares more about revenue than guest comfort.

Our suite was gracious and inviting, with a bed and linens that felt like pure luxury. We stayed at two other iconic Fairmont's on the way, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and the Fairmont Banff Springs. All of these hotels are some of the nicest I have had the pleasure to stay. The Calgary Hyatt was OK. No complaints about the service but it was nothing special. The check-in and check-out people were OK but not particularly warm or engaging. The hotel is centrally located and was perfect for my needs location-wise. I was there for a two-day conference so I booked all four days of my Calgary trip in this hotel. The hotel conference was well run and the food was great, although they ran out of coffee during one of the morning breaks and none of the staff seemed to be too concerned. My room had two queen beds and I was wondering how many guests really need two queens in their room? The room was rather narrow and the two beds took up most of the room, so it was annoying when I was trying to get ready in the morning and the desk chair kept getting in the way. IMO, the Hyatt needs to get rid of the extra bed and give guests some more room. The workout area was good and had plenty of treadmills. Maybe another bench or two would be good.

I won’t go into detail but the main reason I decided to leave was due to the a/c not working in my room. After waiting over an hour and asking on 3 different occasions if someone was going to come and fix it, I decided to weigh my other options. That’s when I found the Blackfoot Hotel. After speaking to the manager and explaining my situation, he gave me the most amazing deal on one of their best rooms. So, after waking up at 3 a.m. and driving 13 hours to get to Calgary, he hands down made my day. I was so disappointed at first when I had arrived at that first hotel but after relocating to the Blackfoot, I was extremely content, comfortable and I felt a heck of a lot safer. Instead of staying in a dirty, hot hotel room, I got to stay in the best hotel room I’ve ever experienced! It's a great location. I can't deny that. However, it's a loud hotel. There is no noise by law on Steven avenue. Windows are paper thin. You can hear every single sound lasting till 12:30 1:00 in the morning. Windows are so bad that it seems like you have a window left open. You can hear everything on the street. The hotel puts ear plugs on the on the bed stand tables not a good sign. Noise was so bad on a Saturday night. We ended up having to move rooms at 12:30 to get to the other side of the hotel. So what wasn't so noisy. Do not get a room that faces west. I do not recommend 2306. As well, fitness room is well stocked, a good fitness room. Cool and hot tub are closed which they only just recently updated but they don't have a pool or hot tub. The club lounge was quite good very spacious. No access to the patio however. The hotel staff did try their best but mad it is not a peaceful stay. It is very very very very very very very noisy.

The luggage cart also had a flat tyre which made wheeling luggage around significantly more difficult. We also asked for the powder to be changed on the coffee machine and the front desk agent said she would “have a look” then after we sat there for ten minutes she never came over and we decided to leave. The transfer to the airport however was wonderful with an extremely polite gentleman who helped us with our bags. Overall a somewhat unpleasant stay and I would like to think I gave the hotel three individual opportunities to correct mistakes before leaving this review which they did not.

The location was absolutely perfect for this, with incredibly easy access to the highway, which made our mornings a breeze. We also never had an issue with parking; there was always plenty of space available. The staff truly made our visit special. There is a restaurant onsite that you can go to for breakfast/lunch/dinner and you can order room service for only lunch or dinner (but it costs you $6 delivery, plus a standard 15% gratuity ... so you might as well just go to the restaurant and pick it up). The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The jacuzzi suite is spacious and the large tub is a nice addition. The bathroom has heated floors, but the water pressure in the show is terrible. The bed was comfy. The wifi is easy to connect and fast. The tvs have basic cable and you cant connect your phone to watching your streaming services, which is kind of a bummer. The elevators were broken while we stayed there, which was an incredible pain as we were on the top floor (5 stories). The hotel staff did bring the heavy luggage up the room upon arrival, which was good because I would NOT have been able to get it up there myself. Although being at the hotel for a week (business trip) it was really frustrating to take the stairs several times a day when I have mobility issues. And it made me not able to go to the restaurant, or pool/hot tub because of the added stress of only having the stairs as an option to get to them. The hotel isn't bad, but it just does not feel like a Holiday Inn, which is the brand name that I trust and wanted. I probably wouldn't stay here again for that reason.

Before she even stepped in the room she tried to convince us that it was only coffee stains and it wasn't a big deal. Even the other staff member assisting her seemed disgusted when they finally took the xover off. To top it all off apparently they didn't have an extra cover for a king size mattress in the whole hotel and ended up giving us another sheet... which they took away the next night. Edit : I finally got my countertops, and I hate them, the way they are cut and jointed, The wood pattern doesn’t match up. Ended up just having to buy peel and stick countertop stuff off of Amazon to cover them up. But the joint was showing through. It made a crease in the peel and stick stuff. So I just ripped them out and threw them a way ony a day after install, picked up some particleboard to lay out on the cupboards and covered that with new peel and stick and now it looks fabulous. Complete waste of money. Well, it’s been I think about seven months now and no one has bothered to address this issue from Home Depot so I’m editing and changing my review to a one star, I wish I could do less than one star. I’m now the manager of my condo building and will be doing a lot of work around here, starting with repainting the inside and the outside, and adding some nice trim in the hallways, and I will be buying the paint and trim from Rona. And I can confidently say that it’s one of the best hotels I have ever experienced. What stood out for me during my stay was the exceptional service from the housekeeping Director and team (Anja and Phan). There was a mishap when I ordered my room service , the Tabasco sauce container wasn’t closed properly that when I took it out the bag, it splattered all over my white pants . They tried to dry clean but it’s mostly ruined, and, then they offered a similar pants to replace and sent it to me here in British Columbia where I live. I couldn’t be more grateful. The room has well enough space for me and my husband. We got two queen size beds. The room got a nice view of the city. When I have guests coming from the States, I would recommend this hotel. Check was great - super pleasant and helpful. Downtown location was great and they provided underground parking at no extra charge. I stayed with my daughter so they even had the sofa bed out and ready for us. Even the defrosted frozen fruit to go with yogurt was empty and didn’t get replaced until we were leaving. Myself, my mom and my two kids were booked in for 2 nights. The first night of our stay the fire alarm went off at 2am. By the time we made it all the way to the lobby they inform us it was a false alarm and said we could go back to our rooms. We really thought it would just be a story of unfortunate circumstances about the one time the fire alarm went off in the hotel. Unfortunately that was not the case... The second night of our stay, around 10:30pm as my mom and I were just preparing to go to bed for the night and the fire alarm went off AGAIN. I quickly scooped up my kids and made our way downstairs and out to the parking lot where we stood for about 15 minutes as the fire department showed up, checked out the situation and then informed us it was another false alarm and we were okay to return to our rooms. We returned to our rooms, I was just settling my kids when the fire alarm went off once again. Once again, I scooped up and ran down the stairs with two kids, waited for the fire department to arrive to be told be told it was yet another false alarm. Enough was enough for us, my mother and I packed up our suitcase and my two traumatized kids at 11:30pm and drove the 2.5 hours home as we were not going to stay there any longer. My mom (who booked the room) has yet to reach out to the hotel but I spoke with the front desk agent last night about contact information for the manager and mentioned that I am expecting some sort of compensation/reimbursement for this ordeal. At that time it did not sound that promising from him. I will update my review when my mom has heard back from the hotel. Hopefully an agreement can be reach and we can be compensated in some sort of way, especially, since we didn't even spend a full second night at the hotel. Very unfortunate situation and I will not be staying at this hotel again, nor recommending anyone else stay there. *Updated to reply to the response on my review* -while our stay still wasn't the best my mom was credited for one night of our stay by the hotel. The manager pologized profusely and stated that all the incidents were caused by vaping. I have given the hotel one more star in kind to the good customer service. We moved the couch closer to the tv ( by about half the room ) and found there were crumbs, hair elastics, and a trading card of some kind under and behind the couch. The beds were very firm and we all woke up with sore backs in the morning. This would be the thing that might make me pick another hotel next trip, and that I would warn others of. The morning breakfast is great. Lots of options, constant refilling and while it was hard to find a place to sit, there is quite a few tables, there was just also a lot of people. As a side note, when we went to order delivery that night for dinner there was no pen or paper pad to write down everyone's order before calling, and when we called silver dragon ( who is on the hotels list of places that deliver to it) they said they don't deliver :(. Also, we had sirens screaming down the street 4+ times in the 1-2 hours we waited for and ate dinner, they sounded like they were right in the room, windows do very little to keep out sound and we were on floor 10. So be aware if you are noise sensitive for sleeping, you might have some city noise, and also the AC in our room had a click/ping/twang it kept doing at irregular intervals. you'd just get used to its pattern to sleep then it would pause......and then ping! and start a new pattern. Good to know about the product delays, I was kind of wondering as the renovation for 2023/2024 pallet was up in the lobby and we looked at it and we had the new finishes but not the new furnishings. I do miss the little things since covid and wish hotels would bring them back. The pen, paper, magazines of attractions and the hotel directory book. When I worked at a hotel our directory book was laminated pages and you just wiped them down with cleaner between guests. But a mobile one does also update a whole lot faster than 200 books >.< While the sirens didn't really bother us ( we mostly were watching the window to see which direction they headed ) I added it in the review more for people it would effect ( same with the bed, I also don't know if every room has the same mattress type which is why I included the room number, and if they like a firm bed then 1010 might be for them) , but maybe some noise machines or clocks in the room with a noise machine feature could help with the ambient city noise for the people it does effect? or a Bluetooth speaker clock they can play their own phone noise machine through. This could also distract from the AC unit sound if it was normal. I've run into this option in multiple hotels now. We most likely will stay again to see the changes after they are fully finished, we always travel as a family of either 3 adults and a toddler or 5 adults and a toddler so the option of having 3 separate sleeping areas is many times worth a few compromises for us. One last suggestion I would add is that in the living room there is a love seat that sits 2, and a small chair that sits 1, but the room sleeps 4 in the bedrooms and 6 with the fold out. Even with just the 4 of us there it was hard to all be sitting and watching a movie comfortably together, and there was ample space for another chair or even another love seat in the room.

When we checked in this time there was some confusion about the room, with our booking showing a different room type than what the hotel had received. Breakfast was good. It had several options available even for picky eaters. The older lady in charge was nice. The breakfast area was neat and clean. Food area was also clean and nicely arranged. - Oh, and we like that the refreshment area is kept fresh/clean, stocked and available 24/7. The front desk people in the morning were not as friendly as the ones the day before(according to my other half), a bit aloof/cold maybe. The availability of an indoor pool and a hot tub was a plus. Overall, this hotel is one of the nicer 2-star hotels we've been to. This place is a gem. We would definitely visit again in the future.

We were offered a hotel voucher and we chose the Hilton Garden Inn. The grounds could use some gardening. All the flower pots and planters and bedding areas around the building under the trees etc were noticeably bare. For a city vibrant with flowers in summer, it was striking. Fitness room was very nice! Overall a very nice hotel. We'd stay there again.

Check in representative was extremely professional and efficient at fixing issues and the shuttle driver that took us to the airport carried all of our luggage at 3 in the morning. We only stayed at this location for one night as we had a early flight the next morning. The first room we were checked in, the AC thermostat was falling off the wall, as a result, the ac couldn't be controlled or worked. When we tried calling from the phone, the phone was also having issues. In the end, we were switched out to another room on the 5th floor. Upon entering the elevator, the button for the 5th floor was also not working. So we had to step out to wait for the other elevator to get to our floor. Inside the elevator, there is a sign that says "do not jump as the elevator can shut down". I am usually not the type to write bad reviews but this Hilton needs a serious remodeling. It feels old, antique and as you can see from my prior statements, half of the things aren't working. I didn't expect it to be luxurious but for Hilton quality, it is way below their standard of quality. The bed and the bathroom were clean which is a plus but I couldn't wait to check out. I will not be staying in this location again.

It had a super bizarre start to it, which created great disappointment which was later changed to absolute satisfaction with the way it was handled... The day before staying here, I went and dropped off a special bottle of Champagne (as a surprise for my husband for our anniversary) to be in our room upon arrival. It was a producer that we really like and a very special vintage (2008) which was the year we met (thank the Lord we met on such a great vintage year for Champagne, jajajajaja!!!). When we arrived to our beautiful room the next day, I was surprised and dismayed to see a bottle of non-vintage Billecart Salmon on the coffee table (we love this producer too, but the vintage aspect was the big deal). When I went to the front desk to discuss it, Colin was there and heard my story with confusion, not knowing the story or what had happened. We were just heading out for a walk so he said he would get to the bottom of it while we were gone. When we returned, Colin was aghast to have to tell us that there was a mix-up and our Champagne was put in the wrong room the night before and had been consumed by another couple. (I'm still waiting to see their review about the exceptional Champagne greeting them in their room!) He fully understood the importance of the bottle for us and was determined to make it right. While he offered us anything off of their menu, he knew there were no comparables and said he would go outbound and find us whatever bottle could make it up to us. We found another bottle that we love at a wine store at least 15 minutes away and he didn't hesitate to go out and get it for us. He truly went above and beyond to show care and exceptional customer service and it wasn't lost on us. Not only that, but every person involved in the mix-up went out of their way to find us, apologize and take accountability. We went to the restaurant in the late afternoon for (their excellent) happy hour - we had glasses of wine and oysters - and even there the server was aware and apologized. While we don't want to define our stay by that situation, we were just so very impressed by the level of accountability taken and the care to make things right. That's a sign of excellent business/customer service. We will absolutely not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others. Other than that, our room was lovely, with a little balcony overlooking Memorial Drive and the river. The king size bed was comfortable (the pillows are meatballs but I already know how fussy we are with pillows and we always bring our own - good thing!), great bath tub and good water pressure in the shower. The self-serve breakfast was nice too. An assortment of breads, croissants, fruit, some tasty egg bites, and yogurt and berry compote. The coffee may be good but since there in a Deville across the street (my fave Calgary coffee) hubs just went and got us some there. Unlike some of the other reviewers, we had zero issues with parking. There was underground availability and a super convenient elevator onto the main level. Top notch stay, service, and quality.
