Great to talk with about drinks, music, and life stuff. Wife and I were told about this place when visiting for a weekend and are extremely happy we did! The Happy hour they have is amazing. Yes, the drinks are priced accordingly (some may be high off HH). Although, Happy Hour Huckleberry Martini is amazing. Pure and simple amazing. You can stay on the happy hour menu and try all of them and be very happy. They also have some top shelf alcohols you normally won't find! The meatball and bread were good, not great- however, I would order again. I can imagine this place getting really packed and the inside is not that big. Thankfully there were only about eight of us at the bar or tables. Highly suggest going here than some hotel bars, if you are staying there.

Steak bites could have been better with a little less salt. Vwry friendly staff abd a nice atmosphere. One big suggestion to the owner- update your website. Once he came finally back, we ordered everything at once and everything came out decently fast. Ever since our appetizer came out, there was no plates, silverware or napkins provided to us so when we got our burgers, we had to ask for napkins. The food was okay, we both thought the taquitos were good but the burgers weren’t the best thing we’ve had. We just felt as our server was being more attentive to other tables around us but in general just wasn’t good service at all especially for the amount of money we spent there. We have made Durkin’s a main stop the past few years for our nights out. Whether meeting up with friends, a night out, or a holiday downtown, we always have to stop by for atleast a cocktail. At the time was great, but not real excellent or a standout, probably just an off night for the chef and crew, or perhaps it was us. But tonight, out for a birthday with friends, and had to show them Durkins. And the food was IMPECCABLE! While before we thought the food was missing that “thing” that stood out and made it perfect, tonight was exceptional. The unanimous decision by all of us was 10/10, we especially commented on how good the chicken wings were! I couldn’t rate this restaurant higher. I love the interior decor, it was very cozy. We started with the calamari , which was the best calamari we’ve ever had. They were made with pacific squid, and there was plenty of them in the dish. We love the fresh dill and parsley. There was just enough sauce to flavor the calamari. The Calabrian chilis were a nice little kick to the dish. We both ordered the burger along side with our beers, an amber ale, cream ale and the hazelnut . The beers were delicious. The burgers were spectacular. The homemade pickles added a nice crunch to the burger, the patties were tender and meaty. The cheese was very creamy. Exactly what I wanted in a cheeseburger. The server was kind and accommodating to all our sauce requests. I have tried Durkins during restaurant week and the food was delicious, and I’m glad we got to try them again.

It was phenomenal! A ton of meat, melted cheese, bacon and slaw on a bun. I always opt for the bbq sauce on the side and the meat was cooked so good the sauce was not needed. I opted for a salad instead of fries or tots and it was a real salad, not just a little thing. Huge selection of local beers and I wish I had taken a cab so I could have tried more. Had Ale House Mushrooms for the first Course which were excellent with the dips presented. Second Course was a chicken scaloppini sandwich with a black garlic cream and sautéed mushrooms and arugula on a ciabatta bun. Hubby enjoyed his Cioppino; it looked amazing. His meal was a solid 5-stars. I have a shellfish allergy, so I decided on the French Dip, with Beet salad. I'll say it was a 3-star meal. It was basically an expensive grilled cheese sandwich. The bread had too much butter and I did not taste the horseradish at all. The grilled imposter was too hard to sop up much of the au jus, which was really disappointing. But the grilled flavor was just not at all what I was expecting or appreciating. I'm a bit picky about what type of calories I consume. This was not my best splurge. Next time I would "grill" the server about what I'm thinking of ordering. Our food came out subpar. We had high hopes when the appetizer of calamari came out. The sauces are fantastic. However, due to the saltiness I couldn't finish the calamari. The UK license they hold is enough to drive legally in the USA, so staff should really be trained and capable of validating a license for the purpose of having a few beers (particularly when the guest are clearly at least 1-5 decades above the drinking age). We also offered to share high quality scans of the passports to complement their completely valid universal driving permits, which apparently weren’t acceptable (as if anyone carries their original passport on a night out to have a couple drinks). Another bar received our business for the evening, but it’s still a bit ridiculous we brought our guests all the way here only to be told condescendingly that we wouldn’t get in anywhere else due to “the law” when this is the single bar in years of visits to Washington that we’ve ever had an issue. Saying we couldn’t be served at this specific bar due to their policy would have been enough without the patronizing tone of the staff.

The food was delicious, and most everthing you would expect from an expertly crafted tasting menu. The drinks were delicious, we ordered the Cola Old Fashion and The Crosby. Both fantastic. Each dish was portioned well, with a wide variety of flavors and cuisines, ranging from Asian, to French, seafood to artisan bread, and everything in between. Very pleased with the strategy order eash dish and course was served, that ultimately did a great job exploring and connecting all major taste palettes. In a very close decision, our favorite dish was the roasted duck with peppers and corn. Only minor feedback is that we noticed halved cherry tomatoes were used in two seperate dishes with no clear progression or transformation (that we could perceive). Service, albeit very friendly and professional, was wanting... There were instances where some of our requests were repeatedly forgotten. We had ordered a second Cola Old Fashion, and it took more than a few occurrences of "So sorry, we'll get that going right away" before finally receiving it. I had also requested ice for my glass of water, and that also took several attempts before finally receiving it. Perhaps the biggest feedback was the lack of knowledge and confidence. It was a recurring theme that many of the staff who were bringing out our plates were actually unaware of what was on the plate, or how it was cooked, etc. As the plate(s) was being set, the servers would often stumble across their words as they struggled to recall exactly what the dish was, what was in it, how it was cooked, or be able to answer some fairly easy questions about it. G&R does well balancing an semi-upscale casual a la carte eatery, a bar area, while also executing sophisticated tasting menu. The decor was entertaining, as we were figuring out the fun paintings (nike van go-gh, pickle ball). My only small minor feedback was that our table, and consequently my seat, was just a touch too close to the shelf against the window with the lit candles on it. Overall, a wonderful and memorable experience, and one we would ultimately recommend for the price point. Our only regret is not adding the wine pairing!

But they were 100% gone through. And being they were the only people that came and left, were loud, rowdy, and appeared very intoxicated upon arrival we can only assume that it was them. I let the bar know. They confirmed they are regulars. Definitely won't be going back knowing what type of crowd their regulars are.

We dined here when the place first opened and enjoyed it, but for some reason have not been back, though I had been wanting to. Finally got around to it last night and was so happy we did. It's always been some of my favorite food. The food did not disappoint. The crab beignets were a delight, as was the catfish Po'boy and shrimp and grits. The bread pudding was the perfect end. Their savory leaves a lot to be expected and I was underwhelmed overall by the main course. We were here for restraunt week, thankfully the server let us know the wait and we chose to stick it out. It has been a while since I experienced such blandness from a fried chicken. It had hot heat and was beautifully fried, but the chicken, dredge, and batter all lacked most seasoning. A strong taste of flour, a mild taste of black pepper, and virtually no salt was the flavor profile for the chicken. Thankfully there was heat but it was hot without a lot else to it. The waffle itself was sweet, seasoned, and delicious. Had it's complement been as robust it would've been the highlight of my day. Overall the restraunt was busy, but rustic and was an enjoyable experience. Madi was an excellent server and handled everything perfectly during our brunch. Walked in and we were immediately seated despite the parking lot being full and them appearing to be quite packed. Ricky the bartender was our waiter, and he gave us some fantastic drinks that included the Ginger Bramble, Coffee Nudge, Piñaritta, and the Maker's Mark Manhattan. We started off with the Calamari and Lemon Thyme aioli, which was nearly "lick the bowl clean" good. My wife got the dinner special which was Scallops with Bacon Jam served on asparagus and a sweet corn risotto. It was delicious. My asparagus were a near perfect al dente and well seasoned along with the roasted potatoes and red bell peppers. To wrap things up my wife got the Salted Chocolate Torte, which was very rich and a fantastic blend of flavors that was cut and complimented by the whipped cream on top. We were on our way back from hiking at Mt. Spokane & after a quick look at restaurants on our route, we chose Ambrosia. It definitely exceeded our expectations. We ordered the pork with apple chutney, soup of the day, and their ambrosia salad with blackened salmon. They also bring delicious bread to the table.
