My friend said the matcha latte was not very sweet, and the flavour was OK as well, not too strong, not too weak. The iced taro strawberry drink was interesting. There were 2 huge ice cubes inside the glass, and I can barely taste the strawberry flavour, the taro flavour was much stronger. My favourite was the pancake, I have never tried pandan before but I love black sesame and peanuts. I was happily surprised with the crunchy but fluffy texture and the even flavours that let all shine in harmony. I was very disappointed with the tiramisu I did not taste any coffee or rum and was overwhelmed with all the milky flavours and even the blueberry compote seemed a bit bland. I was asked by the staff when paying if I wanted a takeaway for it and when I answered no didn't like that one was not further questioned. I remember when this placed opened and it's always exciting to read the new menu every month but over the past 15 years I have only managed to go maybe 12 times. It would have been better if it was warmed up to the centre, because it was warm at the edge but cold in the centre. The strawberry croissant was a bit disappointing though, compared to to the massive size and gorgeous look, it was basically croissant with cream on top, with some strawberry. There is custard cream inside, but not much and you have to dig into it to look for…. None of it didn’t get along with the whole flavour, apart from the creamy texture, I was wondering why they are put together. The croissant itself was excellent though, I’d get just croissant only next time. I kind of expected more flavour available in terms of cream filled croissants but none was available, which is probably what they are trying to do - getting customers to come back again, but well I’m not local so no more chance for me. Apart from the seated banquet, which they catered to include our loved ones with dietary requirements, we asked them last minute to do our wedding cake and a dessert table. They were very professional, easy to liaise with and feedback from our guests were very positive. They had so many options to choose from and dietary requirement friendly. For the dessert table we chose a mix of two cakes (chocolate ganache, chai spiced carrot with lemon icicing) and treats (brownies, date cakes, Afghan cream rolls)--great variety for a good price. The wedding cake was exactly the rustic/homey dream we were looking for (chocolate with rosewater icing and raspberry jam) and the dessert table was devoured as soon as it was taken out. Scored a nice deal using an app so I went for it. I was tight on time so I thought I’d order take away to try out the food quietly but order ended up coming out pretty late. We had a table booking so we did not have to wait however finding the restaurant in the first place was quite difficult, there was a lack of signage and I did not see anywhere that it was actually upstairs from the Crown and Anchor. When we arrived we were pleasantly greeted and shown to our table, our waiter was very polite and friendly and assisted us with our orders. We ordered the lychee and hojicha bingsu, a hot matcha latte, a hot chocolate and a lychee iced tea. Overall I'd give it an 8/10.
