Gluten free options were clearly marked and staff were knowledgeable. We were disappointed with the sirloin steak however, was nothing special, and at £32 I think I could have bought a better one from the local supermarket for a lot less. Our order was put in wrong somehow, not the waitresses fault as she had confirmed what we wanted, but it meant two of us had to wait longer for our mains to arrive and everyone else had nearly finished theirs. It’s a lot larger inside than it looks from the front and it’s far from a takeaway ‘chippie’. The staff are really nice and helped accommodate us on a large table and were helpful in explaining the menu. The decor is great with plenty to admire and it’s all in good keeping with the seafood vibe. The oyster starter was presented beautifully with all the condiments you’d expect and the sharing platter was truly huge. It was a shame that they swapped the scallops for extra prawns without telling us (due to having run out) but given everything was cooked so beautifully we quickly forgave them! Some of the best seafood I’ve had in a while and there’s certainly options for whatever kind of fish you’re looking for. I’ll be returning as soon as possible!

We chose this restaurant because my wife enjoys a good steak. I prefer fish but also enjoy steak. They seemed from the menu to specialise in steaks. On arrival we nearly walked out again. The ground floor is a pub and loud music was playing. I hate music when I have a dining experience and want to converse. The young lady assured us it was quieter upstairs and she showed us to a quiet corner where the music was barely discernible. We both had starters. My spicy chicken thighs were excellent and very tasty. The portion was generous. I was disappointed that the cod with pancetta was no longer on the menu. I went for a rib eye steak instead. The steak was one of the best I have ever had. It was large and cooked perfectly rare as I asked. I am a bit used to restaurants charging high prices for steaks that are inferior to one I could buy in Aldi for £5. This steak was excellent and reasonably priced. The young man and young lady who served us provided excellent service and were warm and friendly. We didn't really want a dessert but the young man persuaded us to try their raspberry crumble on the house. We had one to share because neither of us had much appetite left. It was delicious. There was a bit of a hiatus when more of us turned up than they had prepared for which meant them squeezing in everyone into a far too small a space. Quite why they didn't move an isolated couple at the end of our long table, I have no idea, but it must have been pretty unpleasant for the couple and horribly squished for us. Having pre-ordered our meals, apart from the unexpected arrivals, there was no apology for the long delay of nearly an hour before our, mainly burger, meals arrived. The burgers are normally £16.25, but most of us took advantage of the Thursday '2 for £22' offer, which worked out at £11 each, including trimmings, sauce and skin-on fries. I watched the kitchen assemble our meals on a high counter, which was such a slow process, my food, apart from the chips, was tepid when it eventually arrived. Everyone found the char-grilled sweetcorn tough and difficult to eat. Had I not been in a group, the food would have been sent back. It was not satisfactory for a venue whose website claims 'takes pride in delivering an exceptional dining experience'. This was distinctly average, at best. The burger itself was clearly of good quality, ditto the toasted brioche bun. One of our group sitting near me opted for the grilled lamb salad which, at £20.45, was so enormous, a huge doggie bag was willingly wrapped up. Several folk opted for desserts including the 'Black Forest brownie sundae (spelt Forrest on the menu) at £9.95 and a 'Mini cheese and port' (£7.75) which was most certainly a very small fromage indeed. Except it was cubes of Black Bomber and Suffolk Blue. This venue is geared up for large wedding parties, so why they faffed about so long for a group of just 20 unimpressed me greatly. I visited for the first time as a diner to the restaurant today. Having heard many good things about the restaurant, I was excited for my visit and it certainly did not disappoint. We visited mid-afternoon today (Sunday). We had booked the table. We were given a warm, friendly welcome and we were shown through to our table. The member of staff explained the child’s menu to us and also mentioned that a roast could also be provided for my son if he wanted it. The menu card for children is a nice touch, simple Tick boxes next to the items required. The child’s menu is either two or three course set menu. My son opted for chicken nuggets and chips and he really enjoyed it. He had ice cream for dessert. Soon after we sat down at the table we were asked if we wanted any drinks, we asked for a few more minutes and then another member of staff appeared a little later to take our order. I chose Roast turkey dinner which was exceptional. The turkey was moist, the vegetables were cooked just right and the Yorkshire pudding was large, light and crispy. Perfect. My wife chose a beef brisket burger which she really enjoyed too. The restaurant is incredibly clean and the staff were very professional. I was very impressed and I will definitely be coming back.

My wife and I have been saying for a while that we must go and have a sit-down meal at the restaurant, and I can honestly say it was one of the best curries we’ve ever had. The food was edible, not the best, not he worst.. but will we return? The staff were friendly and polite. (PREVIOUS REVIEW) So.. if you look online for this particular Brewers Fayre.. the price showing (at the time of our visit,which is what enticed us) was £10.99 for two main meals on the lunch deal (Mon-Fri 12-6pm) HOWEVER once inside it is actually more.. £11.49.. when mentioned to staff (believe a manager, basically told they knew and were trying to get it changed!!! So not the price you may expect!!! Food... we both started with Garlic & Herb Mushrooms with BBQ Sauce.. the staff were helpful and changed one BBQ Sauce for another... HOWEVER.. the mushrooms were like bullets, trying to get a fork in or cut with a knife was near impossible... so we resorted to being uncouth, having to use our fingers!! So, they were slightly overcooked, and lacked any Garlic taste. With also both opted for the Smothered Chicken (Similar to Hunters Chicken). The Skin on Chips were ok, a little cold, the piece of Garlic Bread could have been cooked a little longer.. the Chicken was ok (Succulent, although did not actually taste like chicken.) The staff were very friendly. All in all.. disappointed that the advertised price for that location at that time was wrong.. food ok.. but not great... but filled a hole... certainly had better.

I had the chicken Madras which was well spiced and not at all oily like you find at some places. The rice is nice, and naans etc are all as you would expect. It was early evening (6pm booking) so there wasn’t many diners at that time. The restaurant itself is a good size, well decorated and furnished with ample tables. We received a warm welcome from the waiting staff and we were given a choice of which table to sit at. Not long after we sat, our drinks order was taken, shortly followed by our food order. The menus were well presented and there is a variety of dishes to choose from, from Indian classics, through to chefs specials. I ordered Tandoori Chicken, plain rice and chana masala. We opted for the small plate option which were anything but small. The scotch egg was amazing, slightly warm, meaty and filling. Decent beers and all types of drinks served. I would recommend booking a table if there are a few of you (we were a group of 6) but they usually have space to fit small groups or couples in, although this is a popular place so book if possible. The food is very well prepared and of good quality. Generally, mains on the printed menu are burgers or variants of chips , but many variations. They have a specials menu with choices like ham, egg, and chips. Also they have small dishes which can be combined for a very nice main such as scotched egg, calamari etc. The prices are good in my opinion, and the quality of the food served is well worth the money. It’s only a small place so I was lucky to be able to secure a small table later into the evening without a reservation. The service was both attentive and fast throughout my short visit. There’s a good number of pizzas available to suit most taste, plus the staff were willing to make small changes. If they focus on the quality Aurora can have a great impression all across Suffolk, but we see how this great potential is being wasted.

The staff were generally friendly and our main server was especially lovely and accommodating. The food, unfortunately, was just average. If we had paid full price, we truly would have been mortified. everything being served up certainly LOOKS fantastic, however, the eating experience was quite underwhelming. the fried chicken burger was peculiar in texture, tough and stringy - i suspect some kind of broiler meat that is better used in soups or stews. the beef burger was pretty simple, the beef had a great taste, the bacon was crispy and smokey, the gherkins tastefully crisp and tart. the bun however was what I'd usually expect from a burger van. on the specials board they advertise "WHOLE SKATE" it is in fact not a whole skate. coconut cheesecake was large and delicious as was the sticky toffee pudding. I had a small issue with the chocolate ice cream which was swiftly resolved - for which im grateful. I would consider visiting again if they were to change things in their kitchen.

The food was brilliant, service was smooth and flowing. Promptly asking if we would like drinks but not in a pushy way. We went in for a work meal table of 14. Used to visit a lot before the pandemic and during eat out to help out, food and service was 10/10 back then. Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered Roast Pork Crackling and a side of cauliflower cheese. The crackling was so thick that I couldn’t even cut it! The cauliflower cheese was lovely, a generous amount of cheese and baked nicely. Reasonable priced, roast £16. Cauliflower cheese £5.50. My friends went for the roast chicken which looked amazing.
