The scenery is great for photos and attracts a family with kids playing and exploring in the rock pools. The beach itself has stretches of sand but also quite a few rocks in and around the water, which means swimming is risky in places. There are life saving flags at busy times, but it does get dangerous around the rocks or when the waves are big. Crowds pick up in summer, especially on weekends, so it can feel packed at peak times and parking can be a pain then. Overall though, it’s one of my favourite ocean‑beaches near Melbourne. It’s dramatic, beautiful, and feels like a proper ocean escape. Just bring your swimmers, hat, water, and respect the surf. You’ll leave feeling refreshed and a little awed.
