Worst food experience ever. Felt like a scam. Non veg meals cost ₹ 250 and what they serve is just rice and a fish curry with small piece of fish. Not worth for the money. No side dishes. No proper display of menu with their costs.

Worst experience we were all girls and there were many men who were drunk and standing in que with us. Owner should have maintained different que for men and women. had ordered fried rice they put so much black pepper powder. Also it took around 20 mins for our order to be prepared. Order management was also bad.manager was giving priority to drunk people. Worst restaurant

One of the best beaches in Pondicherry. Ample of parking space available and a lot of food stalls. There are also provisions for changing. Rock cliffs are there which look beautiful. We also found a lot of shells and clams on the beach. Highly recommended. Must visit while you’re in Pondicherry.

TN and Pondy people, please stop unnecessary honking and follow basic traffic manners, 📣📣🤯🤯🥵🥵 Poorly Maintained & Unhygienic Beach This beach was very disappointing during our visit. It was full of waste and felt extremely dirty. Maybe it was because of Ganesh Chaturthi, but apart from that, there were also dead fish, prawn shells, plastics, and other garbage scattered around. The stinky smell from dead fish and the many fishing boats parked nearby made the experience unpleasant. Parking is available, but overall the beach is poorly maintained and unhygienic. Not recommended unless it is cleaned up properly.

Today visited this beach in the afternoon. We walked from Mothers ashram till Bakers street shop. Dark blue color waters welcomed me. With monsoon to set soon the beach looked calm and composed. Boats were doing trials on this beach. With rocks on both sides, enough space to walk, get down and touch the sea waters this beach is mesmerising. Afternoon with not much harsh sweaty sun, the whole beach looked glittering amidst blue sky and dark clouds. This is my first afternoon time visit to the beach. The promenade is indeed beautiful with coconut trees swaying in breeze. Lighthouse, crafty bazaar, Pondicherry museum, art museum and park are places around to visit. There is a lactation room spot in this beach. Travellers don’t miss visiting this beach when you travel to Pondicherry.

This beach is well maintained and looks clean. Finding a parking space is a bit difficult during the festive season.

Many people defecate openly hear at the beach in morning time. I would recommend people to stay away and not play at the beach.

This area is used mostly by the fishing boats. People defecate here in the open. Go to pier nearby where it is more clean and picturesque.

Serene and quiet beach, not more than 10-15 locals on beach, 0 tourists, clean blue and green water however sand on the beach has lot of litter ... Streches far... Nice for a quiet long walk.... u can hear Waves roaring, some butterflies and very few birds. Avoid going in water.. as not sure if it's safe!

VEERAMPATTINAM BEACH : Veerampattinam is the biggest coastal village in the Union Territory of Puducherry and is located between Pondicherry and Cuddalore. The village is 7kms from the city centre and frequent bus services are available from Pondicherry. The village has over 500 years of recorded history and is very close to Arikamedu archaeological site. It has rivers on both sides which helps fishermen protect their boats during cyclones as the majority of the swell in the sea is absorbed by the rivers. The surrounding village looks green always as it's enriched with water and nutrient resources. Veerampattinam is also home to one of the biggest festivals - The Temple car festival, where hoards of devotees pull massive wooden chariots using thick natural rope. A sight to behold indeed! It's a beautiful beach with a lot of free space to walk around and enjoy the waves without the crowd. It's got a lot of coconut trees on the way to the beach... A pier called 'The Sea Farer' is yet to be constructed fully... It looks good..

This beach is mostly occupied by fishermen's. Less crowded as compared to others and water is also clean comparatively. No shacks and shades available at the beach. Changing room and shower facilities are also not available.

Located away from the main road ..Google maps give proper directions to reach there via the small internal Roads. it's good experience to see the local village life, it's a fishing harbour kinda beach so lots of boats and fishermen around, cuz of this there is lot of fish and other sea life thrown on the beach so it's a shabby not many tourist around, good for a long walk along the shore.

Rock Beach is a very nice place to visit in Pondicherry. The view of the sea is beautiful, and the sound of the waves is very calming. It’s a great spot for morning or evening walks. The area is clean and has many small food stalls and cafes nearby. You can’t swim here because of the rocks, but you can sit, relax, and enjoy the sea breeze. It gets a bit crowded, especially on weekends, but still feels peaceful. A lovely place to spend some quiet time. I gave 4 stars because of the crowd.

Nothing negative about this place except the accessibility. Many a times Cars are not allowed to nearby area so may be an issue for elderly people. Very nice place where one can spend hours gazing at sea (Bay of Bengal). it is a must visit place whenever you visit Puducherry. Have been here 4-5 times. Walk along the beach is romantic for couples. There are many small small cafés which serve you till late night. Sunrise at 6 o clock attracts a lot of people. Gandhi statue in the middle of 800m beach walk path is also attractive.

Complete 1.5km long rock beach covers the esplanade area except a stretch of about 100 meters of proper sand beach with great views on both sides. Good place to sit and relax, minus the shacks and drinks. And please don't smoke here, it's prohibited to smoke in public areas in whole of pondicherry. At dawn or dusk the beach provides good views and winds.

Visited this cafe in the evening for some good coffee and snacks. The coffee was too good here which was filled pro the brim of the cup. The chicken sandwich too amazing with the sea view but sadly we visited after the sunset and hence could enjoy the sound of waves along the food. The Cold Coffee too was amazing. The apple cart tasted fine. This restaurant is open 24/7 serving food right beside the Gandhi Statue. You can always stroll through the beach. It’s self service here.

The food is not good. Honestly, the burger tastes like a 50 rs burger. The fries are really bad. The cheesecake is not fresh; it already settled. Check out the image for reference. The mocaccino is not really a mocaccino. People come here to take photos from the roof. The food is really overpriced, and the kitchen hygiene is average. The burger had raw capsicum in it, like cold stuff.

Visited GMT Ice Creams on Promenade Beach and absolutely loved the experience! 🍨 The gelato here is rich, creamy, and full of authentic Italian flavor. I tried Mix Berries, Bacio, and Tiramisu all three were excellent, with just the right balance of sweetness and freshness. The quality is worth the price, and the portions are satisfying. The location right on Beach Road makes it even better perfect for enjoying a scoop while taking a walk by the sea. The staff was polite and service was quick. If you’re in Pondicherry and craving authentic gelato, GMT is definitely a must-visit!

During our Pondicherry visit with family, we heard about this famous ice cream joint and wanted to try the taste of these gelatos. It's a small shop in the beach road and there was continuous crowd visiting here. We ordered 3 different flavours chocolate, cheese cake and strawberry. Chocolate was very good and other 2 were ok for me.

GMT Ice Cream in Pondicherry was an average experience for me. I had heard a lot about this place, but honestly, it didn’t really have that wow factor. We tried around 5–6 flavours like Cheesecake, Tiramisu, Choco Crunch, Dubai Cream and a few more. Out of all, the only one I actually liked was Tiramisu—it had a nice flavour and stood out from the rest. The other flavours were just okay and nothing special. Considering the hype, I expected richer taste and better texture. It’s still a decent place to try once, but personally, I didn’t find it worth.

The gelato as rich, natural, and delicious, with flavors like strawberry containing real fruit. The must try flavours include classic chocolate, strawberry, hazelnut Nutella, and coffee caramel. The space is very small yet has a nice ambiance with unique decor.

Undoubtedly the best beach in/around pondicherry. Good long beach at anytime of the day with great activities for kids. Numerous beach facing eatries near parking also pubs and a mini eiffel tower where you can have a meal.

We visited Pondy Marina from Serenity Beach — it took us about 20–25 minutes by bike. The place has a lovely open shoreline with a pier where you can walk and sit on the big rocks to enjoy the sea breeze and view. What I really loved was how well-organized the space is — instead of messy roadside stalls, they’ve set up a proper food court with lots of eateries, a kids’ park, and even a restaurant bar. It’s clean, lively, and thoughtfully designed. There’s also the popular “I ❤️ Pondy” statue that’s perfect for photos. You can easily spend 2–3 hours here just relaxing, eating, and soaking in the view. Do note — it’s not a swimmable beach, but great for a scenic evening outing or casual hangout.

We can enjoy only one day is enough boating mangrove trees and one architecture with one hour. The ticket price per person is 500 rs. And we can feel the different vibe by seeing the waves and the beaches.

Good and nice place. Its like 15 mins from station. Roads are good and it was a good experience. Beach is crowded during weekends but the stalls here are costly to bear for middle class. There is whole lot of food options available and kids play area. Night time is good, but day time it's hot. We tried lassi etc there and sat on the benches. There are many activities too. Be sure to try that out. There is no local vendors here and there. All are structured properly.

It's a decent beach with a food court with variety of food joints. There was a sand sculpture festival 2 days before we visited, so we could spot few creative sand sculptures in the beach. Route to the Marina beach is not that good.

We had gone to Marina Beach around 9 a.m. Surprisingly, it was still peaceful at that time. There were very few people around which made the whole experience feel more personal, could take photos without any rush no one walking into the frame, no noise to distract. Just the sea and the space to enjoy it. After clicking a few pictures, we found a spot to just sit and watch the waves. They kept coming in slow, steady and almost meditative. No pressure to move, no distractions. It felt like time slowed down for a bit. That morning had a quietness to it not in a lonely way but in a calm, grounding way. We didn’t need to do anything special. Just being there, watching the sea, feeling the breeze it was enough.

The beach is absolutely filthy. There was trash everywhere. Absolutely disgusted. Photos below, don't waste your time on this beach. Total waste of time and as usual had to pay extortionate rates to the auto wallahs to travel 1.5 kms to this beach and back. Not worth it and will spoil your mood. You are better off at the Rock beach and promenade instead.

Visited Serenity Beach in the evening — the breeze and view were lovely, and it’s a nice place to sit on the rocks, relax, and watch the sea. However, it was quite crowded and not very clean. The beach has more of a local, fisherman vibe with lots of boats and activity. There’s a small area where you can play in the water, but overall it’s better for a quick visit than a long beach day.

Packaging is good… mango ice cream and shooting star ice cream was good.. it had the magic pops inside the ice cream… my kids enjoyed it… but the coconut ice cream tasted just like vanilla … Red velvet roll ice cream was heavenly… strawberry flavour is too good

Tried to order a two scoop Vanilla and Chocolate icecream Sundae. Requested employee if he would substitute Strawberry icecream scoop instead of Chocolate icecream. My request was denied because employee said tbey are NOT ALLOWED TO SUBSTITUTE. But since shop had no more Vanilla icecream, employee said he can make my two scoop Sundae usuing BOTH CHOCOLATE SCOOPS Does not make sense. I refused and left unsatisfied. I will not go to Baskin Robbins again. Rude behaviour.

Built with descent indoor and elegant outdoor sitting facility. Good hospitality. Had a wonderful experience. The food was good and non oily. I've added the menu card for price list (do check out). The menu offered a great variety, ensuring there was something for everyone. That tea was good. The staff truly made the visit memorable. They were humble, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel good from the moment we walked in. Their genuine hospitality added a special touch to the evening at Pondicherry. Highly recommend for all vegetarians.

Speaking about the location and atmosphere it is good it's near the beach, the waiter was not even taking orders from us after calling him thrice he came to us and took orders, there are 2 chiefs working so you might get your orders late, i ordered veg biryani and veg fried rice, fried rice was ok-ish, speaking about biryani or i can say veg fried rice with a pinch of turmeric. Overall it's ok-ish.

Closest place to the beach. Went there for a quick tea but ended ordering fish fingers, you get 5 pieces for 190 which was fine. Then had a tea which they make on order do it wad good. Not like a running tea stall where its always available. Place is small but you have an outdoor seating as well.

The prices are a bit okay but the food quality is worst. They put too much oil in food and the food is also kind of worst.

This is the best place in Pondicherry to watch the sunrise. It is also the fishermen’s spot so you’ll see many boats out in the sea and fishermen coming back to the shore to store their catch. Sometimes the smell can be unbearable but the sunrise scenes make it totally worth it. The ideal time to visit would be around 5:30-6 in the morning, from here you can go to Le Café to have your breakfast and then go on about your day.

Visited this place during Christmas, which is considered to be the peak time. The crowd was ok, can spend some good time around. This place has got some eateries and restaurant very adjacent to the beach. You can get freshly prepared sea food at a considerable pice. Booze too is avail but it’s restricted insided your hotel premises. No night activity at this place has very lil street lights. So prefer to be around 5am to 6 pm. Police patrol at nights are very common here.

The safest sandy beach in Pondi for swimming and spotting crabs, oysters. This is a small fisherman's beach about 6 km away from the main town so no crowds or touristy shops. Just sea, sand, sunsets, surfers and boats.

Visited on 30th Sept 2018 #. Chief Secretariat, a pure white, contemporary multi-storied building, facing the sea. #. As a tourist, one can see from outside or need permission, to enter. #. There is oval-shaped, park-like greenery, with a beautiful Fountain. #. A Buddha Statue is another attraction. #. Goubert Hall is right side this building #. This building gets well decorated, during festivals, which is very attractive. #. The beach, opposite to this is beautiful. #. Evenings, the public throng this place. #. The vehicular traffic in Goubert avenue is banned from 6:00 PM to next day 7:30 AM #. Overall good, with around one hour, if you have (6 PM Plus) or a quick visit is 15 minutes.

This is located right in front of the beach. The building is pure white. Just a tip: you can park your car just behind this building rather than going all the way across to the other end of the beach for pay and park.

Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to access. I was interested in the studies the Indology department does and about some of theirs publication but the surveillance at the entrance told us it is a private place and suggested to look online. Not very welcoming

Nothing much to be said about this building/mansion...we came across this mansion while exploring the French town... It can be easily identified by the bright yellow color of the mansion...it is also heavily guarded by police...so that no unauthorized entries are made in...It also acts as French High Commission as well... It is prohibited to take pics...however one can take it from Beach road or Promenade side...

If you are inclined to know about french related stuff happened or history in pondicherry, you have come at the right place.Time spent about 2 hours with relaxed pace. They charge Rs. 100 which is nothing comparing at what you will see inside and in whole. Their are different research fields and professors cubicles which can se seen from outside. Place is very well maintained from outdoors and indoors. Some historic idols datung about 100 years old are placed to see. Access to first floor is available and have got some more collection. Also have access to terrace wherr you can go and take pictures with astounding beach view.

Good photography spot. It's an outside of a property. Many tourists click pictures here as it's a French Institute of Puducherry in this old French city. Photographs taken in such wonderful background look amazing and different. Exactly opposite side photos too are good for clicking pics.

Recently I visited Paradise Beach in Pondicherry. Honestly, the beach is very beautiful, but I found some things that visitors should know before going. First of all, this beach is managed by a private company called Sandunes. Because of that, they charge an entry fee of ₹89 for adults. Once you enter, you will see that they have made a restricted swimming zone. It is marked with green flags and ropes, and only till that area you are allowed to swim. This is good for safety, but it also feels a little controlled. About facilities – they have arranged drinking water, shower area, and restrooms for visitors. This makes it a bit comfortable, especially after playing in the water. They also provide water activities, but honestly, I felt they are very costly compared to other places. Along with that, there are food stalls, clubs, and some entertainment options inside. Overall, the beach is clean and well-maintained, but the commercial setup and extra costs may disappoint people who expect a free, natural beach experience. Still, if you don’t mind paying and want a safe, organized beach visit, then Paradise Beach is worth exploring.

The place is excellent! The entrance fee is ₹89 per person, and the beach is very well maintained. It has fine white sand, plenty of seating areas, clean changing rooms, a restaurant, and water sports activities. The overall vibe is great — we really enjoyed our time here as a family, and the kids absolutely loved it. The only downside is that the approach road is not in good condition.

One of the best experiences ever! We rode all the way from Bangalore directly to Paradise Beach and it was absolutely worth it. The ride itself was smooth and scenic, and once we reached, the beach truly lived up to its name calm, clean, and simply beautiful.
