Seebad Enge is a delightful lakeside retreat in Zurich, perfect for summer relaxation. This charming spot features wooden decking that invites visitors to unwind while enjoying stunning views of the Swiss Alps and the city skyline. Accessible via a scenic walk from the city center, Seebad Enge boasts mixed and women-only swimming areas, as well as designated swimming lanes. By day, it serves as a refreshing swimming destination with light bites and BBQ options at its restaurant.
What an amazing place with incredible views. Unfortunately the day we were here, it had just snowed, so the piers were tight to get in and out of, but it was totally worth it with the views of the fountain and the Alps in the background. Highly recommend this stop while traveling around Zurich.

Love this Badi. I go to the Ladies section. The bar has nice healthy food at reasonable prices, but they have always stress. Lockers, showers, wc, etc. Nice view
Harly M — Google review
Always very busy, but come in the mornings to the women’s side and you’ll get to relax with an unobstructed beautiful view on the lake and the alps. Showers and changing rooms are available.
Jasmin V — Google review
Great place to have a swim in the super clean lake of Zurich and have a drink. No, the drinks and the food are expensive. But you will have a great experience in return. It is also has a relax atmosphere and not a lot / almost no tourists.
Gert-Jan L — Google review
Outstanding local Sauna, with plunging directly into the lake. We’d been seeking a sauna on our trip to Zurich and this didn’t disappoint. Excellent hospitality and clean facilities. You won’t be disappointed here.
Harrison M — Google review
We rented an electric boat for 3 hours on Lake Zurich and it was easy, reasonably priced and efficiently run. We will definitely do this again!
Karen B — Google review
Guys at the counter were not trying to help at all. Just so you know, when someone who is clearly a tourist and has a 20 kilo backpack on their back approach the facility, you dont look at their faces and say nothing. You start explaining how things work and try to help. Felt like i was interrogating your guys just to get some information. Hey and if you think the customer doesn't fit the profile, just say your exclusive nicely and be done with it.

Very good place to park your car and walk around the city center. Affordable although not always easy to find a spot even during a weekday

Flussbad Oberer Letten is a popular riverfront swimming facility located on the River Limmat, offering a refreshing escape during the summer months. Visitors can enjoy amenities such as a diving platform, volleyball courts, and sun terraces for lounging. The turquoise water and vibrant beach umbrellas create an inviting atmosphere for cooling off and soaking up the sun. Nearby cafes and restaurants provide convenient options for snacks and drinks.
Very nice place to swim on a hot day. Can be very crowded in the evenings, especially Friday-Sunday. Requieres 2 chf coin for small lockers or your own lock for bigger storage. Be mindful of the closing times, otherwise your clothes will be locked for the night.
Inna D — Google review
Zürich’s coolest summer hangout! Letten Pool is such a fun and unique place to swim — where else can you float down a clean city river with locals, jump off diving boards, and sunbathe on wooden decks, all for free? The water is crystal clear and refreshing, with a nice current that carries you down the Limmat (strong swimmers only!). There’s a great vibe here — lots of locals, chilled-out music, and a few pop-up bars and snack spots nearby. It’s very clean, and there are lockers and change rooms available too. Perfect for a hot summer day. Just grab a towel, a swim suit, and a 2-franc coin for the locker, and you’re good to go. 🌊 Tip: Wear water shoes — the riverbed can be a little sharp. ☀️ Tip: Come early or later in the evening to avoid the crowds. Easily one of the best public swimming spots I’ve ever been to. Don’t miss it if you’re in Zürich in the summer!
Todd R — Google review
Public, safe, clean and free. What more can one ask for? A wonderful experience to mingle among the locals in this beautiful city. Sun bathing or swimming in the clear cool water on a hot summer day. Toilet, changing facilities are available and the nearby establishment is readily available for a cold drink. A truly unique experice when one is visiting Zurich.
Joseph N — Google review
I can barely afford anything in Swiss, but this outdoor swimming pool is FREE. They have a locker, changing room, shower, and toilet for FREE. All you need to do is to swim, read, sleep, drink, and repeat.
Semin O — Google review
Nice evening place to hangout. The vibe is totally different here. The music, the lights, the people, the water, the beauty.. everything is beautiful. The cleanest place and the good flow of water
Sudheer G — Google review
One the most lively places in Zurich during summer. Great for swimming and also chilling under the sun. Pretty packed, so reach before 6 if you want enough space to lay down.
Ricardo R — Google review
One of the most colorful places in Zurich: people of all sorts gather at the river for drinking, swimming, sunbathing, playing... in a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting, especially in spring/summer
Antoine B — Google review
Great place to swim in the river. There is some current and many safety ladders. The opposite bank is open when the club side is closed, and many locals come for an early morning swim.

Seebad Utoquai is a charming 19th-century lake bathing house located near the Zurich Opera House. It has mixed and separate pools, gender-separated sun decks, and a restaurant. The historic wooden badi has retained parts of its original structure since it first welcomed visitors in 1890. Visitors can enjoy clean showers, rent towels, and purchase locks for their belongings in the changing area.
This place is amazing. 8CHF to enter and swim. Lovely deck area and hot showers etc. Such a great vibe with a coffee shop at the bottom. Plenty of seats. Bring your own towel and soap etc. feels very private and safe and secure to leave belongings on the deck. Enjoy swimming in lake Zurich!
Isabella G — Google review
Omg this is a must in good weather! Lots of locals having fun and bathing in the waters. Not so expensive compare to Zürich standards. Good facilities.
Jónas G — Google review
Great place to sunbathe and take a swim at lake. Towels are available for rent, I paid for the rental plus a deposit that was returned to me after turning back. I also purchased a lock to leave my belongings in the changing area. You can buy food onsite. They have floating platforms. It’s really nice. Their website indicates water temperature and occupancy. It was a great time visiting during the summer.
Fidea A — Google review
Incredible public swimming area right on the river. Amazing way to spend a nice summer day. Plenty of lockers for changing and many options to lay out, enjoy the sun and play in the water. They also have a restaurant for you to enjoy food and drink. Highly recommend.
Constantine J — Google review
My friend and I visited the women’s area — we really liked it! It’s a relaxed space where you can chat without unwanted attention. At Seebad Utoquai is really nice view of sunset 🌇, but you just need a bit of patience to wait for the best spots to enjoy it😁

Good place for a swimm. They have lockers, and men/women together or separate. The bar makes nice food drinks. Entry cost. Sometimes overcrowded. Nice view to the city from the lake when swimming

Katzensee is a serene and idyllic lake located at the northern border of Zurich. It offers various activities such as birdwatching, swimming, and walking trails. The area is also popular for horse riding and cycling, making it a great spot for nature enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque landscape, go for a swim in the warmer waters of the smaller connected lakes, or take a leisurely stroll through the surrounding forest and farming countryside.
A beautiful lake surrounded by lush grass land, a nice beach, great facilities to change, shower and out one's values into a locker, all free of charge. The site offers a kiosk where one can buy beverages, food and ice cream. There is a BBQ area. Only a little walk from the paid car park.
Eswiss64 — Google review
It's a natural water body that is used for swimming and other summer activities. Loved the walking path to get to the place. They have designated shallow water side for kids to play. You need to go early to find a nice spot to spend the afternoon.

Guido O — Google review
A great place to chill after work. Also a great option for open water swimming in early summer.
Luke G — Google review
Very very nice to take a walk into the forest and there is a nice small lake. You can grill there and order the food from a small bistro. Surprisingly the food from the bistro quite good and price is very reasonable. Swim is possible. Parking place is enough. **(Hier ist Natur Schutz)

Strandbad Tiefenbrunnen, established in 1886, is a picturesque lake bath located on the shores of Lake Zurich. It offers a paddling pool, playground, BBQ area, and a snack kiosk for visitors to enjoy. The area is popular for naturism and swimming during the warmer months. Additionally, it features a circular deck extending into the water where locals love to sunbathe. The location provides beautiful views of Lake Zurich and historical sites along its shore.
One of the best badis in Zürich, exceptionally kid friendly with dedicated baby-pool, slide, island in the lake and lots of shade. Table-tennis and 5m tower round off the offering. The wait at the entrance can sometimes be a little long, so it pays off to buy tickets in advance.
Simon L — Google review
Swimming in the lake was a great experience. Besides swimming, there are good possibilities to do other sports such as chess and table tennis. The quality of showers both outside and inside is excellent. It is clean and orderly everywhere. Beautiful flowers, plants, birds, sculptures as well as well designed and well kept lawns contribute to making this space a pearl. Thank you very much.
Frank C — Google review
Of course the Zurich lakeside was busy on a Sunday on which we had nice warm weather. Even though there were 1,637 other visitors at the Badi when I entered (according to the display next to the cashier), I nevertheless managed to find a semi-quiet, shady spot where I could relax and listen to my audiobook in relative peace. I found it very refreshing to be able to dip my toes into the lake to cool down a bit.
Maria I — Google review
Had to pay to get in but not much. Was so worth it. They had a tuck.shop there and a resteraunt. Shower rooms and toilets. It is a grassy beach with steps that go into the water, a kods section, diving boards and pontoons in the water. They even have table tennis. Nice photo opplrtunitoes as there are little rockpool seating areas ( not many) . It does get bisy in the afternoon tho. Was ome of my favourite days in Switzerland
Donna C — Google review
Okay place. 6 CHF for my daughter in a wheelchair. Companion was free. I was 8 CHF. Easy to get in and out of the water. Staff were friendly. We went early and there were a few people about but not many.
Chris W — Google review
Incredibly low service quality, even for Zurich standards -- staff is often more concerned about discussing about their weekend plans than providing service to the customer. You can thus easily happen to wait 10 minutes for a cup of coffee while only 3 people are in line.. Highly recommended to buy your food and beverages beforehand.
Andreas S — Google review
Great place to swim. A little cafe with decent food and drink

Strandbad Mythenquai is Zurich's oldest lakeside spot, boasting a 250-meter sandy shore and ample sunbathing lawns. It caters to both swimmers and non-swimmers, with facilities like table tennis, sports fields, and play areas. The beach also features barbecue zones, a shop offering swimwear and gear, as well as diving boards for added fun.
Zurich lake is beautiful place to visit. The best times are weekends and sunny day. You see a lot of people coming for picnic and party. Really a fun place.
Jasdeep S — Google review
It is a nice place to see stunning views and have a quiet moment by the lake. There was a sandy area which was clean. The water was crystal clear and easily accessible for swimming. Plus, a large green area for picnics and sunbathing. There was, also, a diving platform that had three different heights. Early on a weekday in the spring, it was empty of people, but I can see it being very busy during the summer. There were toilets facilities nearby, though I did not use them, so I can not comment on them. It is an open park, so the area is accessible to people who use a wheelchair. There are a choice of hard surface paths or grass.
Shelley C — Google review
Most excellent place! All the areas to swim and sunbathe, paddle board rentals, amazing cafeteria, lots of space to spread out and friendly crowd. What a treat! We spent all day here on our visit to Zurich.
Mali A — Google review
One of the best beaches at Zürisee, perfect for enjoying a sunny summer day. In the weekends is crowded.
Domenico V — Google review
Beautiful View. Great for picnic!
Jessica L — Google review
It’s nice and spacious, a lot of big trees to find shade under and it’s easy to get into the water. Two 2️⃣ penalty points: 1) the food. Hiltl is just not Badi-food. I mean Soy Fake Chicken Nuggets? And the buffet style leads to soggy fries. 2) the Beach is more gravel stones and dust than it is sand :( But the children’s area is the best I have seen here in Zurich.
Alex S — Google review
I love the autumn colours of this place. My daughter had a great time playing with the sand and the water. There is a dock where people swim and sun bathe, and a modest playground nearby.
Emma T — Google review
Clean, lovely, and beautiful views of Lake Zürich. Good amenities as well: diving boards, swimming platforms, paddle board rentals, and inflatables for the kids. Visiting from the USA and happened to walk by, and decided to take a chance and check it out. For only 8 CHF, this was a steal for a relaxing afternoon on the lake with the locals. Lots of gnats in the grass, be warned.

Unterer Letten Swimming & Recreational Area is a popular spot located in the city center, offering a river pool with a swimming channel, non-swimmers' area, and a diving board. It's free to use and has lifeguards on duty. The place can get crowded on weekends but is perfect for cooling down during hot summer days. There are separate areas for kids with cool pools and playgrounds. Additionally, there's a snack bar available for refreshments.
One of the best places in Zurich, in summer it's usually quite busy. I wish I could find more bathing places like this around the river.
Sofia S — Google review
free entry and very family-friendly. there are pools for kids, a lively atmosphere, and a kiosk where you can get food, snacks, and drinks (expect typical zürich prices). down below, there’s access to the limmat river (for adults only) also free, with a wooden platform to sit and relax. it’s a great spot for summer days, though it can get quite crowded in the afternoon.
Christie — Google review
One of my favorite summer spots in Zürich and probably one the best places in Europe for swimming (or rather "being carried by the water") ... for free, including the shower/toilet/lockers facilities (bring coins for deposit though) and life watch. Super clean water, stunning views of the city / rail viaduct, wooden deck to sunbath, but also opportunities to jump from the old rail bridge, or even a bit of bouldering - if one wants to extend the journey. Summer open-air cinema events to be indulged as well.
Pali V — Google review
Great city amenity for the public. Clean water to swim/float due to the strong current. Lots of fun places to jump into the water from. Diving board. The arch of the bridge, or even the very top of the bridge. Cool rope swing over the water. Favourite part is the 73m long rock climbing/buildering route (traverse) deep water solo style. Not sure if it's graded. Tough to judge the grade because of the length. I'd estimate approx. 5b but it could be made more difficult/interesting by eliminating use of the pipes or metal components. Overall very enjoyable. Combine with a campus attempt across the river on the underside of the arch bridge.
Des S — Google review
It's a nice place that you could safely swim in the river for free! Diving and swim in the direction of the river flow is easy, just be careful with the stopping metallic fences. You have to push them with your legs not hands :)
Majid Z — Google review
Very nice place for swimming during hot summer days 🔥 They also got life guards watching over the swimmers. It's very crowded on the weekend but still an awesome spot to cool down. There are like two parts: one up the hill with a public swimming pool, a kids area and a takeaway and also a part where you can swim in a gated part of the river Limmat 🌊🌞

Seebad Kilchberg is a fantastic beach located near Zurich, just 20 minutes away by train or car. Situated on the shores of Lake Zurich and adjacent to the Lindt & Sprungli factory, it offers a unique experience where you can enjoy the cool waters of the lake while being surrounded by the delightful aroma of fresh chocolate.
A lovely small beach that's perfect for families with children! It's cozy and charming, with soft sand and a gentle slope into the water, making it safe for the little ones. The beach has everything you need: food, drinks, and changing rooms. Plus, there's a Lindt chocolate store right across the street—an extra treat for chocolate lovers!

It’s quite a good place for kids. There are 2 pools, food court, sausages, green grass, a beach and a slide. But!!! Working hours don’t match with their official time! Beautiful and clean lakeside area. It has bathrooms, changing rooms, ping pong, and foosball. Great diving boards and slides into the lake. Plenty to do while relaxing by the lake. I'm surprised this place isn't more crowded!
Wade S — Google review
The area is small but functional with nice pools and spectacular food (Hiltl). Lots of shady areas on the grass. Water temperatures may be a bit low for very young children.
Nikolas F — Google review
The Badi has a perfect size and is very clean. Amazing for kids. Only downgrade: the price for the food is delusional. Its extremely high. An appetizer portion of salad costed me 21chf today.
Joëlle P — Google review
I truly love this place because of the pool and location, go their every summer for the last 15 years, but staff here are so mean, they definitely hate their jobs and do everything in their power to make a bad day experience for visitors. Absolutely hate families with kids, lifeguards just sit and chat, and when there’s really a dangerous situation - do nothing. Walk in the other direction . Saw it hundreds of times. But!!!! When someone puts a different sort of blanket on the grass, or puts a stroller with a sleeping newborn closer for 1 m to the pool area, run screaming. No exceptions, only rules, every lifeguard has its own crazy ones. Love the place, but people working here give me and my kids the hard time every day we visit. And no - pool is never heated

The outdoor area overlooks the shore, creating an amazing atmosphere for sightseeing and bathing.
Incredible women-only swimming bath in the city center. Visited as a tourist (who was missing summer swims in her own country!) and the staff were welcoming. I went on a Wednesday and it wasn’t crowded at all. It’s a really special place! Beautiful vintage art nouveau facility with plants and fabulous views over Zurich. Super clean and cosy. There’s a mini bar/restaurant on site too. Toilets, showers, and changing areas also. One secluded pool hidden from sight, and one on the riverfront also. Costs 8 francs to enter. Can pay with card/phone.

The park is known for its vibrant atmosphere and is frequented by locals and tourists alike. Families with children can enjoy the large playground area, water sprinklers, and sand play area while adults can relax at the kiosk or make use of the public barbecue facilities.
Amazing park with the best ping pong area - large grassy field, perfect for a picnic on a sunny day.

Josefwiese is a very nice park near Hardbrücke. It’s a good place to hang out in the grass with tasty restaurants nearby. There are , of course, many families and children at the playground so it’s perhaps not the best place to relax, if you intend to take a nap in the sunshine😌
Maria I — Google review
Josefwiese is one of Zürich’s best-loved green spaces — a wide, welcoming park that feels like the city’s communal garden. Just a short walk from the main station, it’s the perfect spot to unwind, picnic, or simply people-watch among locals enjoying the sunshine. The park has a wonderful community feel, with open lawns, shady trees, and plenty of space to relax or play. There’s a playground for children, a grill area where families cook together, and the lovely Josef Café, which serves coffee, drinks, and light meals right beside the grass. We spent a a while here on a peaceful afternoon, soaking up the atmosphere — kids running, cyclists passing through, and groups of friends chatting under the trees. It’s the kind of place that captures the best of Zürich life: calm, clean, social, and effortlessly beautiful. Whether you’re visiting with kids or just need a break from sightseeing, Josefwiese is the perfect place to pause and feel like a local. And it literally just minutes from Hardbruke station.
Tasha ( — Google review
Great place to come with kids, though not as pleasant as before after filling all playgrounds with sawdust. If you are coming with baby on a busy weekend, it can be long waiting time for swings as there are only 2 suitable for kids under 2 years old and they are always busy. But there is a nice sand playground (now party dirty with sawdust) and some fountains to run through for kids. A slide can be extremely hot during summer days as is is not enough shadow there. But on colder days it is a lot of fun.

Rayrider Bike Tours Zurich offers a unique and meaningful way to explore the districts of Zurich. Led by Ray, a passionate and knowledgeable guide who grew up in Zurich, the tours provide local insights and interesting information about the city's past and present. Whether it's the city tour or a custom ride to Uetliberg, Ray provides bikes, water, and helmets for a safe and enjoyable experience.
Thoroughly enjoyed Ray's bike tour from Rayrider's bike tours in Zurich. First, Ray was super communicative and easy to coordinate with in coordinating a day and time. His location was right near the main Zurich train station so as soon as we got into town we went right to his location, stored our bags at his office and then took an amazing tour seeing areas of the City I am sure we would have never seen. We ended up doing a private tour as there were four of us and we didn't arrive during one of Ray's normally scheduled tours which still ended up being pretty affordable. Had also great stop along the way for a nice cold beverage. Ray also followed up and sent us some restaurants to eat at there were amazing. Highly recommend Rayrider and also taking a bike tour as soon as you come into a new City or even if you're from Zurich and want to explore areas you may have never seen before. Thank you Ray!

Brilliant tour with Ray who was super informative on all sorts of really interesting facts about Zurich that you would not normally find out. His relaxed friendly style meant we all felt comfortable asking questions along the way. The ride took about 3hours and took in some really cool and quirky stops along the way - much much better than a standard tick box tourist/sightseeing ride. (We even managed a cheeky beer on the mid tour break at this awesome open air venue and the bag shop we went to is epic but I needed more time so I could have purchased one lol). Couldn't recommend going on a tour with Ray enough!!

A great way to quickly and easily discover so much about Zurich; some of it's rich history and contempory events. Ray is a great host able to provide a huge amount of knowledge in an entertaining and casual manner tempered with an obvious passion for his home city. Highly recommend for anybody wanting to discover more about Zurich beyond the immediate environs of the Old Town area.

Our guide Ray was very informed, ready to answer all types of questions about Switzerland. The route could not have been assembled by a visitor to the city, it included many "off the beaten path highlights". The bikes were comfy, easy to adjust for touring, water and helmets. Great family event!!

Ray leads a bike tour primarily to the less touristy spots in downtown Zurich where people actually live and work. The highlight for me was visiting the area of the Limmat River reserved for the hundreds of swimmers drifting downstream with the current.
