The Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-Strasbourg is a stunning Gothic edifice that dates back to the 1200s and features a remarkable 16th-century astronomical clock and a beautiful rose window. Its iconic 142-meter spire can be seen towering over the city's rooftops, making it an unmissable landmark.
I visited the cathedral on a schools trip and it was amazing. The fog on that day made the spire disappear into the clouds which was very cool. The inside was also beautiful, and the large clock was meant to have an animated show happen at 2:00 but it was a little disappointing, with the bell just ringing twice, and that was it. But everything else was spectacular. 👍

Strasbourg Cathedral is an awe-inspiring masterpiece of Gothic art. Its soaring spire and intricate facade leave you speechless before you even step inside. The stained glass glows with breathtaking color and detail. The atmosphere inside is both grand and deeply spiritual. A visit here is unforgettable—a true jewel of Europe.

Architectural wonders. I really surprised and wondered on this cathedral architecture. It amazing and look very nice. There is no entrance fee. But there is security and he will check your bags. Inside of the cathedral is also great. You will enjoy it. Everything about this cathedral is displayed on the screen inside the cathedral that really valuable. Not too crowded if you have patience you may get nice photos of the cathedral. In side there is clock and its make bell on specific time.
Jolly J — Google review
The overall experience is good but was busy. So many people always in the way. The history of it being built was very interesting. It's amazing that structures can remain in the same location basically untouched for such a long time. The clock in the back is a highlight that you don't see in any other churches.

The Strasbourg Cathedral is an absolute masterpiece of Gothic architecture and one of the most stunning landmarks in Europe. Its intricate stone façade, towering spire, and detailed sculptures leave you in awe from the moment you see it. Inside, the soaring nave, beautiful stained-glass windows, and the famous astronomical clock are simply breathtaking. You can climb to the top for a panoramic view of Strasbourg and the surrounding Alsace region — the climb is worth it, though there are sometimes long queues, especially on weekends and holidays. The cathedral is surrounded by charming squares and streets, making it a perfect spot to explore, take photos, and enjoy the city’s historic atmosphere. A must-visit for anyone in Strasbourg — whether you’re a history buff, architecture lover, or just looking for a spectacular view!
Niroshan — Google review
We attended the weekend mass, and the guide sheet handed out at the entrance made it so easy to join in singing the hymns. The cathedral itself was grand and awe-inspiring, yet it felt warm and welcoming. Being able to pray and experience this serene atmosphere was truly a special and grateful moment during our Strasbourg trip.
Hee K — Google review
A beautiful example of gothic French architecture. Free to visit this cathedral is a must see, if only for the mechanical clock. This is still a functional place of worship and respect should be shown when visiting.
Alex C — Google review
Yesterday, I had the chance to visit Strasbourg Cathedral, and the first thing that struck me was its sheer magnificence. Even from a distance, the cathedral commands attention with its tall spire reaching into the sky, visible from many corners of Strasbourg. Standing right in front of it, I was awestruck by the intricate Gothic architecture — every stone seemed to tell a story of centuries past. The detailed carvings, delicate statues, and the massive rose window all reflect extraordinary craftsmanship and patience. It’s incredible to think that construction began in the 12th century and continued for hundreds of years, with the cathedral even holding the title of the tallest building in the world for a time. Just being there, I felt connected to generations of artisans, worshippers, and visitors who had admired this masterpiece long before me.The area around the cathedral is alive with energy. There are numerous cafés and souvenir shops, and the smell of freshly brewed coffee wafts gently from nearby terraces, adding warmth to the morning air. Street musicians fill the square with melodies that drift across the crowd, while talented artists paint portraits of visitors right there in the open. People from every corner of the globe gather here, speaking different languages, laughing, taking photos, and simply enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. The combination of historical grandeur and modern-day liveliness creates a magical, almost cinematic scene — a perfect harmony between past and present. I spent a long time wandering around the cathedral square, taking in every angle of the building. The sunlight hit the pink sandstone walls just right, making them glow warmly and highlighting the intricate details carved into the façade. Children ran past happily, tourists posed for photos, and locals strolled leisurely, sipping coffee and chatting. I felt a sense of calm and inspiration, mixed with excitement — it’s rare to find a place that is both peaceful and bustling with life at the same time. Watching people admire the cathedral with such awe reminded me how art and history can unite humanity across cultures and generations. Even without going inside, Strasbourg Cathedral offers an unforgettable experience. It’s not just a church; it’s a living testament to history, creativity, and devotion, surrounded by the sounds, smells, and energy of life. The cathedral, the crowds, the music, and even the aroma of coffee create a multi-sensory experience that stays with you long after you leave. If you ever find yourself in Strasbourg, this place should not be missed — it’s a rare combination of architectural brilliance, cultural vibrancy, and heartfelt human connection.

St. Thomas Church, also known as the Protestant Cathedral, is a significant landmark in Strasbourg with a rich historical and cultural legacy. It became the main Protestant church in the region after Cathedrale Notre-Dame transitioned to Catholicism in 1681. The church's late-Gothic design and pink sandstone exterior make it emblematic of Alsatian Gothic architecture. It features tombs and an organ that was played by Mozart.
Église Saint-Thomas de Strasbourg was built between the 12th and 16th centuries, incorporating Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles. Since Strasbourg Cathedral returned to Catholicism after the annexation of the city by France in 1681, Saint-Thomas has served as the main Lutheran church of the city. Inside, it houses a 1741 Silbermann organ and the mausoleum of Marshal Maurice de Saxe, created in 1777, both in the Baroque style.

St. Thomas Church is located along Rue Martin Luther at Place Saint-Thomas and is the main Lutheran church in Strasbourg. I enjoyed seeing the late 12th to mid 16th-centuries architecture, giving St. Thomas both noticeable Romanesque and Gothic features. Within there is an organ which was played by Mozart as well as modestly decorated nave, side aisles lined with sarcophagi and tombs dating back to the 12th-century. It is an interesting historic church to view from the outside and to spend a few minutes browsing within.
Brad — Google review
Calm place to think about life. Very specific altar from stones. Wonderfull church! The entrance is free.
Magda — Google review
While this is not the most famous of the churches in town, it's history, architecture, sculpture, and magnificent organ deserves a visit. Pro tip: visiting this Lutheran church is free, and there are friendly and helpful staff that will offer you a paper guide, available in multiple languages, to make your visit meaningful.

St. Thomas Church, located at Place Saint-Thomas in Strasbourg, is a significant example of Alsatian Gothic architecture. Constructed between the late 12th and early 16th centuries on a site with religious roots dating back to the 6th century, it has been a Protestant place of worship since 1524. Notable features include the impressive mausoleum of Marshal de Saxe, an 18th-century baroque masterpiece, and the historic organ played by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The church is open to visitors Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (extended to 6 p.m. in spring and summer), and on Sundays from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. (until 5:30 p.m. in spring and summer). It is closed in January and the first two weeks of February, and during services. Admission is free. Visitors appreciate its serene atmosphere and rich history, making it a worthwhile stop in Strasbourg.

An old temple where you can hear the organ and the choir singing. It is free to enter, but there is no free parking. Inside you can get a leaflet with detailed information. The few remaining frescoes on the walls are really interesting.

After I was not let into the Cathedral, I checked this church and it was amazing. Interesting historical building with traces of Romanesque and Gothic styles, lots of interesting tombstones, some medieval frescoes, stained glass windows, beautiful light and spiritual atmosphere. The admission is free, but there is a donation box. Well worth visiting!

Église Protestante Saint-Pierre le Vieux, also known as Nootoos, is a medieval church in Strasbourg with a rich history dating back to the 12th century. It is believed to be one of the city's earliest churches and contains remnants that may date as far back as the 4th or 8th century. What sets this church apart is that it serves as both a Catholic and Protestant parish. The church houses relics of St.
This is the Catholic church. The protestant church has a separate entrance on the side of the building. Église Saint-Pierre-le-Vieux is divided between Catholics and Lutherans. The current Gothic structure was built primarily in the 14th century. Originally Catholic, it became Lutheran in 1529 following the Reformation. After Strasbourg came under French control in 1683, Louis XIV ordered the chancel returned to the Catholics, while the nave remained Lutheran—creating a rare simultaneum, where both denominations shared the same building. A wall separated the two areas until 2012, when a door was opened to symbolize ecumenical dialogue.
Kent W — Google review
Old St. Peter's Church is situated at Place Saint-Pierre-le-Vieux. This is a peculiar historic church which is mentioned in records as early as 1130 AD. Having passed over between the Catholics and Protestants over the centuries, it is now a church used by both as a place for worship. Within this two-in-one church there are important art treasures from the Middle Ages. I particularly enjoyed viewing the Passion of Christ series by artist Heinrich Lutzelmann (1485) in the front of the Catholic section. Other altars and art works and sculptures found around the side aisles were nice for viewing. Worth a look around if passing by during visits to Strasbourg and interested in old churches.
Brad — Google review
It was in 1130 that his name was mentioned publicly for the first time. Built along one of the city's most important Roman roads, the Strata Superior, the church does in fact contain some remains dating back to the Merovingian period. The Gothic building, of which some traces remain, was built in 1382. In 1529, the church passed to the Lutheran fold. In 1683, two years after the conquest of Strasbourg, Louis XIV ordered the return of the church's choir to the Catholics and had a wall built at the level of the screen, to limit Protestant worship to the nave. This separation is opened by a door on October 12, 2012. The church has several classified objects: Scenes from the life of St Peter, engraved panels in lime wood by Veit Wagner and from the altarpiece of the xv th century chancel. Set of paintings on the Passion of Christ, by Henri Lutzelmann, which are in the choir. The Way of the Cross. Four paintings of the scene of Christ's life after the resurrection.
Artur V — Google review
During my visit to Strasbourg in Autumn 2022 there was a fantastic exhibition going on in a fog filled space adjacent to the church: A cube covered with black fabric, with a myriad of tiny holes let in the light come in as thin beams while a quadraphonic soundtrack enveloped the box. Magnifique 👏
Andrew L — Google review
Very nice church. It is a small one in this city but worthy to visit.

A random surprise! During my visit there’s a contemporary religious art exhibition. Some of the works were quite good and delicate.

Beautiful piece of art, this church is really amazing and peaceful. Take a look-see well worth the while you won't be disappointed.
Christian H — Google review
It is believed that Strasbourg's first cathedral was built at this very site during 4th century. The current church was built in the late 14th century for the canons of Hanau-Rhinau. In 1529, it broke its commitment to the Rome and joined the Reformation Movement but eventually fall victim to the first Protestant iconoclasm. In 1683, it was restored to make it enable to serve to Catholic worship. Only in 1871, a new church was built perpendicularly to the first one to meet the increasing demand of Catholics.

It was once led by Jean Calvin in 1538 and later served by Albert Schweitzer from 1900 to 1913. (Translated by Google) Stunning. Outside we note the successive work on the stone to refine it and transform it into a piece for a cathedral. Inside, several details around the gargoyle catch the eye: - the symbol of the work, a cross on each roof - metal picks to obtain the stone block - the marks of the stone cutters to leave their signature and ensure the quality of the work Original and well thought out, it's a shame that maintenance isn't keeping up and green mold is settling. Located near Iron Man Square, Église Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune is a Protestant church with a rich history dating back to the 7th century. The church features a charming cloister that was renovated in 2005 and boasts arcade galleries dating as far back as 1031. Its interior is adorned with stunning vaults and vibrant frescoes from the 14th and 15th centuries, making it one of Strasbourg's oldest and most captivating sites.
Wonderful church with mix of architectural styles. The frescoes are amazing. A very quiet and serene feeling when walking around. We liked the 'parade of countries' art. Even the pews were decorated a bit differently than most churches. Definitely worth the time.
M B — Google review
This church reflects over a millennium of religious and architectural history. Originally a 7th-century Merovingian church, it evolved into a Romanesque structure in the 11th century and later gained Gothic additions between the 13th and 14th centuries. The church became Lutheran in 1524 and functioned under a shared Catholic-Protestant use (simultaneum) from 1682 until the late 19th century. A major restoration in 1901 unified the space and introduced neo-Gothic elements. A rood screen is an architectural feature in many medieval churches that separates the nave (where the congregation sits) from the chancel or choir (where the clergy perform the liturgy). Typically made of wood or stone, it often includes a central opening flanked by side passages, and it is crowned with a large crucifix ("rood" comes from the Old English word for cross). These screens were both functional and symbolic, marking the division between the secular and sacred areas of the church. While most rood screens were removed during the Reformation, Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune in Strasbourg retains a rare example. It spans five arcades and is topped by a 1780 Silbermann organ. Medieval churches were often richly decorated with colorful wall paintings, though few examples of this survive today. The frescoes at Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune in Strasbourg date from the 14th and 15th centuries and were uncovered in the 19th century. One of the largest frescoes is the “Cortège des Nations” (Procession of the Nations), an allegorical composition showing various peoples advancing toward Christ in majesty. Another is the Navicella, a medieval depiction of a ship representing the Church navigating the seas of the world, echoing Giotto’s famous mosaic in Rome.

We got there by chance. The most impressive church I have been to! It's very old with rich history. The inside decoration is a remaking by the Germans and shows Byzantine elements. There where printed information in all languages, even Greek!

Great gothic church that lets you take a peek into the architecture of the middle ages. Beautiful inside! Just makes me sad to see these churches fundraising for restoration:( would definitely make a visit if you want a quiet place to contemplate or see what a medieval church looked like.
Rachael K — Google review
This ancient church is very well-worth a visit. Its main elements date to the late-13th and early-14th centuries though parts are much older. It is particularly notable for its fascinating medieval frescoes, its impressive rib-vaulted roof, its more modern stained glass windows, and its medieval cloister. Very highly recommended.
Hugh P — Google review
Great gothic style architectural masterpiece worth visiting while in Strasbourg. The paintings on the wall tell their own story, taking you back to the medieval period when it was built. Although wear and tear is evident, the church is very well maintained.

Église Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune, Strasbourg ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) An absolute hidden gem in the heart of Strasbourg! Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune is a peaceful and atmospheric church with breathtaking architecture and intricate stone carvings. The Gothic entrance alone is a masterpiece, with stunning sculptures and beautiful red doors that draw you in immediately. Inside, it’s calm, spiritual, and full of historical charm. It’s less crowded than the main cathedral, making it a perfect place to slow down and reflect. Open every day from 10 am to 6 pm – a must-visit for lovers of history, architecture, or anyone seeking a quiet, inspiring moment away from the tourist crowds.

Absolutely gorgeous frescoes dating from the medieval period, repainted in 1900. The 14th century roof screen is also spectacular, with the cloister considered the oldest surviving ones north of the Alps. Unfortunately a service was going on so I couldn’t walk all the way around. Free to enter.

This is a nice patisserie and tea room along Rue de l'Outre which has an indoor seating area as well as take-away service. You can view their fine dessert selections in the window before stepping in to make purchase decisions which staff will prepare and package for you. Opening hours are 8.30am to 6.30pm (closed on Sundays and Mondays). We did take-way from Patisserie Christian recently and quite enjoyed their pistachio and praline roll slices and a chocolate style tart back in our apartment. Everything tasted quite good, worthy or return visits to pick up more of their delicate and nice tasting desserts.

If you feel like a princess or high class European atmosphere, this is the place to come. I highly recommend their hot chocolate. Very rich and tasty. Many varieties of good quality hot chocolate.

I tried the local famous “Kougelhopf”! It is cone-shaped, decorated with snow-white powdered sugar, and added with nuts and raisins. So delicious and not too sweet!❤️ Also, the staff friendly introduced the patisseries for me and shared a tip about how to pick a well-baked bread…😆🤫🤩

One of the nice pastry shops in town; always fresh pastries in the morning and wide range of drinks. The service can be a bit improved, but overall is a great place to meet friends or do your work meetings while enjoying their pastries and drinks.

Things we liked: seating area, varieties of tea served, way of serving tea Things that could be better: osmanthus tea was less flavorful than I expected, signature triangle dessert (cake layers) were not as interesting as expected.

Best ice cream in a long time, not only in Strasbourg but beyond. Original flavors and generous scoop that will get you a light but cream and super flavorful ice cream. Hidden corner outside but always busy without having a crazy line. 1 scoop for €2.30 will get you an amazing ice cream, really recommended!

Nestled within a striking 19th-century water tower, the Château Musée Vodou in Strasbourg offers an extraordinary glimpse into the world of voodoo. This unique museum is home to over 1,000 artifacts from West African countries such as Ghana, Benin, Togo, and Nigeria. Each piece tells a story of cultural significance—used for religious ceremonies, medicinal purposes, and even witchcraft.
Amazing. Opened my eyes to a religion I only knew through ridiculous characterisation through comic books and a Bond movie. Very helpful young lady on reception. The audio guide was easy enough to upload even for an old technophobe like me. Take the short tram journey from the tourist centre and have your eyes opened. Wonderful place

Amazing place with a very rich history and interesting collection. The audio guide and its downloadable read-out are full of information and insights. The water tower itself is also absolute eye candy.

This museum is not far from the city center. Is about 20 minutes on your feet. Very atmospheric and nice. A big collection of voodoo stuff. This collection is private, so the entrance you have to pay. It’s costs 14 euro for adults. You will have to scan the qr code and to listen about the collection.

Extremely interesting exhibition which encourages visitors to know more about Voodoo and cultural traditions and diversity. I’ve never visited anything like that. It’s vital to understand the true nature of such cultural things. The museum itself is situated in an ancient tower which makes your visit even more enjoyable. However please note that some exhibits may be shocking. Read some I do in advance.

Church of the New Temple is a place for Protestant worship and is located at Place de Temple Neuf in the city centre of Strasbourg. The church building you see today was built in the late 19th-century however the church history dates much further back to the middle of the 13th-century when Dominicans established a convent and church at this location. Today, what you find is a church with Neo-Byzantine architecture, featuring a fine exterior and facade along with a revival style interior with a rectangular basilica layout. There is a large organ mounted above the entrance that is impressive. The pulpit fronted apse is interesting as well. Quite liked the interior appearance of the New Temple Church, it made for a nice little visit in Strasbourg.

Beautiful church in Strasbourg center. Especially impressive at night with the beautiful indoor illumination.

It's a beautiful community hall, where religious services take place. It also hosts several classical music concerts throughout the year. Most of them are for free (donations expected in the end). The square in front of the building is quite historical. During Christmas season, there is a traditional Christmas market in this area which is worth visiting. Overall, the building and the surrounding area is worthwhile visiting, especially when it comes across the way of visiting the city.

Sainte-Madeleine, located in Strasbourg, may not be as grand as some of the city's larger churches, but it has its own unique appeal. Dating back to 1478, this Gothic-style church was part of the Sisters of Saint Mary Magdalene Convent and was designated a historical monument in 1898.

St William's Church, located on the banks of the Ill River in Strasbourg, is a captivating 15th-century church with a tranquil facade that leads to a stunning Gothic interior. Returning unharmed from the Crusades, the knight Henri de Müllenheim undertook the construction of a monastery for the Hermits of Saint William, an order of mendicant monks, in this marshy neighbourhood just outside the city wall next to to docks This stone brick church angular church tries to portray a sense of order and was designed to be a meeting room for the monks. The newly established corporation of shipbuilders in the 14th century thought it would better as a local parish. After the 15 century, the Church lost prosperity and closed down. A revival started after the discovery that the angular design provided perfect acoustics. The Wilhelmer Choir, also known as the 'Chœur de Saint-Guillaume' got established and became as one of the leading choirs of the region. It has been led by several famous choirmasters, including Wilhelm Furtwangler, John Eliot Gardiner. It is highly recommended visiting choir performances.

The Grande Île is an island that lies at the historic centre of the city of Strasbourg in France. Its name means "Large Island", and derives from the fact that it is surrounded on one side by the main channel of the Ill river and on the other side by the Canal du Faux-Rempart, a canalised arm of that river.

La Grande Île in Strasbourg is a nostalgic treasure, where history whispers through its cobblestone streets and half-timbered houses. As you wander, the majestic silhouette of the Strasbourg Cathedral looms overhead, a constant reminder of the city's rich past. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with the aroma of freshly baked pastries and the sounds of laughter from nearby cafés, evokes memories of leisurely afternoons spent exploring its charming alleys. Each corner reveals a story, from the quaint shops to the scenic canals that reflect the enchanting architecture. This UNESCO World Heritage site captures the essence of Strasbourg, blending French and German influences, making it a unique cultural gem. The Strasbourg Cathedral houses a remarkable 1800s clock that displays both astronomical and calendrical information. This sophisticated clock is located on the left side of the cathedral and features a robot that moves and makes a warning sound every hour. The clock's creation was an innovative achievement in the past, garnering much attention to this day.
Such a beautiful and intricate clock! The design is so mesmerizing and a must see. I love how it’s so quiet and respectful inside the cathedral and you can just experience the beauty of the clock almost interrupted even with crowds around

It's a beautiful clock. Its history is very interesting and the clock itself is very detailed, an incredible work on a techincal standpoint. I think it's one of the best parts of the cathedral.

I came all the way to Strabourg to witness this clock! This historical astronomical clock is one of man’s greatest inventions & still works to this day! I feel like this is a hidden gem of the city that tourists miss out on witnessing and I highly recommend seeing this! For under 10 Euros you get a 30-minute explanatory video which starts at 12, and then at 12:30 PM you get to witness the clock working. It is breathtaking in person. It is so massive, majestic & beautiful. You are witnessing such a piece of history preserved for all to see. The tickets must be bought the same day at the cathedral itself. I got there a little before 12 PM and was lucky to get in as it appeared to be a big crowd The clock is extraordinary and so beautiful that even with a massive crowd, it was silent in the cathedral as everyone stood there just taking in the power of this clock. It moves you in ways as you stare at the art, the details, all the mapping of the solar system, sun, moon, calendar. It’s wild. And while you're at it you also get to see the cathedral! Don't miss seeing this beautiful piece of history!
Heather B — Google review
Interesting, worth seeing. Unfortunately, the area in front of it is very crowded. The one in Prague seemed more beautiful to me. Unlike that one, the one in Strasbourg is located inside the cathedral, not outside.
Paul C — Google review
We visited for the 12:30pm show and were able to buy tickets onsite when we arrived around 12:15 on a Thursday. They already had a film playing that was in French, English, and possibly German with subtitles. If you're watching the film, you won't have a great view of the clock so we decided to stand as close as we could to the clock. The performance begins with ringing a bell and having a few figures (a child, teenager, adult, and an elderly person) walk past death. On the next level up the apostles walk past Christ. Be aware this experience is entirely standing room only. There are some chairs near the entrance but you can't see the film when sitting and the clock is behind the corner so you can't see any part of the clock.
Michelle B — Google review
It is located in the cathedral on the left. It is an innovation in the past that is very sophisticated and refined in its creation. If 1 hour has passed There will be a movement of the robot in the watch and a warning sound. People come to watch the work of this watch all the time.
Nomyen — Google review
The clock is truly fantastic but it is not worth paying to see it chime at 12. You have to queue for tickets then wait 30 minutes till noon standing inside the church. Then there is a 25 minute video which is hard to see from many parts of the room and is narrated in French and German (English subtitles) which gives far more information than anyone honestly cares about. Then at last, having been standing for an hour, the clock mechanisms move for 3 minutes tops at 12.30. I think it's far better to just watch the mechanisms for free at any other quarter-past.
Zoe — Google review
Sadly they sell many more tickets than the number of people they can reasonably hold to watch the clock event. When the clock event happens at 12, after watching an half-hour video about the cathedral and the clock, the place is packed with people and dozens cannot even see the clock. We only say it afterwards when everyone left. We felt we had been scammed.

Église Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune de Strasbourg is a stunning church that is used by both denominations and stands out for its lack of financial support compared to the cathedral. It features numerous wall paintings dating back to the 13th and 15th centuries, giving it a unique charm. Locals consider it an insider tip, with beautiful interior and exterior elements such as a magnificent chandelier and a spacious forecourt with inviting benches.
A Beautiful Find in Strasbourg's Neustadt Église catholique Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune in Strasbourg's Neustadt is truly worth a visit. Its pink sandstone exterior and large dome make it stand out. What's really interesting is its history as it was built in the late 1800s because the older Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune church was previously shared by both Catholics and Protestants. This "new" church marks a unique shift in the city's religious landscape. Inside, the church feels spacious and bright, showcasing impressive Neo-Romanesque and Neo-Byzantine architecture. Details like the intricate mosaics, grand altars, and the symbolic circular chandelier beneath the dome are captivating. For those who appreciate detailed architecture and a fascinating historical context without the crowds of some larger sites, this church offers a wonderfully peaceful and enriching experience. It's a lovely example of Strasbourg's diverse heritage.

Medieval Catholic church with St. Brigit of Kildare relics & 10 Gothic passion-of-Christ paintings.

(Translated by Google) I made all my communions in this church which I particularly like. At the time, we were prepared by Nathalie M. the catechism coordinator and I have very good memories of it. I go to Saturday evening masses from time to time and I really appreciate the new atmosphere provided by our kind priest. It's always an enjoyable "show"... and a pleasant moment of contemplation. Thank you 😄 (Original) J'ai fait toutes mes communions dans cette église que j'affectionne particulièrement. The priest arrived late, he said his mass and he turned on his heel without looking at us or giving us his condolences, we couldn't even exchange a word. This is unacceptable!!! (Translated by Google) It's hard to rate a church poorly; it's not the walls or the decorations that matter. This church is very special, built with simple, raw materials, without embellishments. Its beauty is revealed by sitting on a bench and closing your eyes. Only then can you perceive in the silence the power of the place, as powerful as an altar placed in a clearing or a thousand-year-old cathedral. It is the visitor and their meditation, their prayer, that leave a mark on each visit.
