Frankfurt Cathedral, also known as Kaiserdom, is a stunning Gothic-style Catholic cathedral that boasts Renaissance frescoes and offers panoramic city views from its tower. It was once the tallest building in the city until skyscrapers like the Main Tower and Commerzbank Tower surpassed it. Dedicated to St. Bartholomew, this Roman Catholic church played a significant role in the Holy Roman Empire's elections and coronations.
I'm not really into cathedrals or churches, but this one was really beautiful. The Gothic style really matched my style. Really nice work with rebuilding it after World War II. Even with many people you didn't have to wait to go inside. Definitely recommend that one.
Ola K — Google review
Beautiful cathedral. Really enjoyed the experience. I went to the top of the tower, the staircase is really narrow steep and long so be prepared for a bit of a hike but once you are at the top it's a full 360° view of the city. The price was quite reasonable I believe it was €5 per person but I could be mistaken. 10/10 if in Frankfurt this is a great place to go. There's also lots of historical buildings in the vicinity including places to eat or grab coffee. Great place to spend an afternoon.
Oliver S — Google review
recently visited Frankfurt’s main square and it was an unforgettable experience. The beautiful historic buildings create such a charming atmosphere, taking you back in time with their unique architecture. What truly amazed me was the sound of the church bells – so powerful and mesmerizing that it filled the whole square with a magical feeling. I even recorded a video to capture the moment, but being there in person was beyond compare. A must-visit spot in Frankfurt, full of history, beauty, and soul.
Zulia — Google review
The Frankfurt Cathedral is stunning — full of history and beautiful architecture. Climbing the tower is totally worth it for the amazing city views! Inside, it’s peaceful and impressive, with lots of detail to admire. A must-visit if you’re exploring the old town!
Jack F — Google review
Beautiful and awe-inspiring cathedral in Frankfurt. Majestic structure which has peculiar aesthetic finish, especially inside it. What strikes a visitor first is the marvellous collection of statues and paintings. It is not very spectacular when viewed from a distance but when you are inside you are wonder-struck at the great assemblage of rare statues and paintings. The tall columns and arches all add to the grandeur of the cathedral. The picture of St Bartholomew being flayed alive gives a shudder to you.
Dr G — Google review
The Frankfurt Cathedral (Dom) is an impressive landmark of the city. Its interior is solemn and beautiful, and you can also climb the tower for a panoramic view of Frankfurt. Definitely worth a visit.

It’s a good thing to do when you visit Frankfurt. It’s free to enter, of course you can donate to the church whatever you want to donate. It’s not a lot inside, it’s very simple and peaceful.

Wonderful cathedral with nice serroundings. Inside is very serene feeling for observance of mass. with beautiful colorful stained glass, many decorative artwork and spiritual symbols throuhout the inside of the church. So peaceful and calm feeling.

St. Paul's Church, also known as Paulskirche, is a significant redbrick church in Frankfurt that serves as a memorial to the beginning of German democracy. It has been repurposed to host concerts and exhibitions. The original construction began in 1789, coinciding with the French Revolution. The church was where the first freely-elected legislative body in Germany, the Frankfurter National Assembly, convened in 1849.
Another unmissable place in the heart of Frankfurt. A spot for the first German parliament I can recommend the church to be visited. On the lower floor is a very interesting digital exhibition about the history of the building. The main room, the planery hall can be found on the upper floor. No entrance fee, recommended to go for it!
Sc. U — Google review
From the outside the church looks really good, even tho kinda small. Sadly, I couldn't get inside, because the heavy rain complicated my plans. I wish I could.
Ola K — Google review
St. Paul’s Church in Frankfurt is a symbol of German democracy. Although no longer used as a church, it now hosts exhibitions and serves as a memorial site, offering great insights into German history. Definitely worth a visit.
KY W — Google review
St. Paul's Church has come to symbolize German democracy since the first German parliament took place here in 1848 and 1849. The church itself was designed by Johann Andreas Liebhardt (1713-1788). It was rebuilt after World War II by the prominent German church architect Rudolf Schwarz (1897-1961). On the outer wall of the church, there are numerous monuments including for John F. Kennedy (who spoke in the church in 1963), Theodor Heuss, Friedrich Ebert, and Carl Schurz, among others. The church is used for the annual award of the peace prize of the German book trade association. You can see its numerous illustrious award recipients on two plaques on the inside of the church. The main room is decorated with the flags of the German states.

St. Paul’s Church in Frankfurt is a historically significant landmark renowned for its role in German democracy. It is a former Protestant church used as a national assembly hall. The church is particularly celebrated for hosting the first freely elected German parliament in 1848. The church's neoclassical architecture, with its impressive circular nave and red sandstone facade, adds to its visual appeal. Inside, the spacious and serene interior provides a contemplative atmosphere. However the interior is very basic, so you could skip it unless you participating in some event.
Leo G — Google review
Magical place with stunning architecture! Not crowded, so we had a chance to look around and enjoy every piece of the scenery
Gaja — Google review
Not bad. Has a phenomenal 'meeting room' and there is a nice mural inside along with historical information. But nothing much else. Outside, the architecture is very striking and worth a look.

The Städel Museum is a renowned art gallery in Frankfurt, Germany, featuring an extensive collection of European art from the Middle Ages to the present day. It is one of the must-see attractions in the city, offering visitors a journey through seven centuries of artistic expression. In addition to Städel, Frankfurt boasts other cultural institutions such as MMK for modern art, Liebighaus for sculpture, and Schirn for modern and contemporary exhibitions.
It is nice museum with multiple floors, famous art, and contemporary selections as well. We have spent the whole day. Toilets are nice and clean. The person at the first place before stairs was very informative and friendly 💐👍😀. Lockers are nice and have 1 or 2 € deposit. Roof top was nice. Strongly recommend seeing this museum 👌. It is a bit expensive though, 16 € per person.
Ahmet T — Google review
this is definitely a museum that you should take the time to see. They have three floors a various artist and art. It’s quite pricey. It’s €18 per person which I find expensive. entrance. People at the cashier were very nice. They were helpful. They also have bathrooms which were very clean a gift shop they also had a small café with a lovely young lady behind it who could speak English I’m always happy when that happens since I don’t speak German and I ordered a piece of the apple pie which she recommended and it was delicious and a cup of cappuccino. It’s a nice way to spend 2 to 3 hours enjoying the beautiful art.
Harriet M — Google review
Was skeptical it would be worth the 16 euro entry fee but for what you get, the price is reasonable or even cheap. The sheer scale of this place and the range in its collection is mind boggling. Beautifully curated. Temporary exhibition that was on at my time of visit was also very thought provoking. Exhibits range from religious paintings to contemporary paintings to sculptures to photographs and multimedia. I almost missed the underground exhibits but 100% make it a point to stop by. The modern experimental art is incredible (funded by various German institutions I believe). Genuinely could spend hours there. You can casually see famous artists works displayed. Lovely staff as well. 10/10. That’s how you do an art museum!!
Niko C — Google review
Had a nice experience and spent my time well. There was Carl Schuhe collection when I went and I really like it. Also went up to the rooftop and saw the city skyline. The cafe is also cozy and has good collection of cakes. 18 EUR well spent.
Sanchita S — Google review
Amazing museum with an incredible collection! You can see works by Rembrandt, Kandinsky, Bosch, and many others - really fascinating to explore! The contemporary art floor is also super interesting, full of creative and thought-provoking pieces. Everything is well organized and beautifully displayed. A must-visit for anyone who loves art! Also discount with Frankfurt ticket.
Freya N — Google review
Amazing collection of Classical, contemporary & Modern works of art. Easily able to spent 3 hours there. Also the view of Frankfurt skyline was very impressive. Didn't have to go to the Main Tower for it.
Josie B — Google review
An overall pleasant space surrounded by beautiful architecture, artistically designed staircase leading up to the rooftop terrace, overlooking the River Main and Frankfurt’s skyline. Stadel didn’t seem to have as many star attractions as some of the larger museums, but Schuch and French Art exhibition was an interesting theme. I downloaded their app to see if that would work as an audio guide, but it unfortunately didn’t work.
Ian K — Google review
This large art collection is heavy on the old masters with northern and Italian renaissance masterpieces on the second floor. A new addition of stairs taking you up to the roof makes for a nice pause to take in the views across the river before you continue discovering the art in the rest of the floors.

The Alte Nikolaikirche, also known as the Old Nicholas Church, is a small Brick Gothic church located in the Old Town of Frankfurt. This medieval Lutheran temple, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, dates back to the mid-15th century and replaced an earlier chapel from the 12th century. The church features stained-glass windows and its foundations are marked on the floor to give an impression of its original dimensions.
This church is very cute and fits nicely in the old town square. Inside you can find information boards of the church as well as the reformation. I recommend checking it out if you are in the square
Tadeusz G — Google review
This is a Lutheran church at Römerberg that dates back to the Middle Ages. It was first constructed in the mid-12th century. However, the building you see today is from the the 15th century is Gothic in architecture. Luckily the church mostly survived WWII air raids with only minor damage allowing us to view the majority of the church exterior and interior as it was in centuries past. Well worth a brief visit while sightseeing around Old Town.
Brad — Google review
Alte Nikolaikirche in Frankfurt is a captivating historic landmark that exudes a blend of medieval charm and quiet reverence. Nestled in the Römerberg square, this church is both an architectural and spiritual treasure.

A small but very beautiful gothic style Church. I really love the design. It’s really is a captivating historical landmark in the Frankfurt area.
Julius T — Google review
What a majestic great monument this is! I walk here on the first day (10/11/2022) of my personal trip at city Frankfurt am Main. Interior space is very spacious and there are many historic wall carvings. I also learned that many people who visited this church sat on chairs to settle down their minds. This is a good place for people who need to be completely quiet.
Stanley C — Google review
Small historic church, worth a look inside for a few minutes.
Clifton P — Google review
Lovely little church. Has a very quiet and pure Energy to sit and meditate. Simple structure, very beautiful with a tower visible from a short distance outside. At the edge of the Christmas markets which open tomorrow. There is a nice restaurant right behind it. A couple of souvenir shops and of course coffee shops. Cobbled courtyard. Perfect setting for the markets.

Dreikönigskirche is a late-19th-century Protestant church located on the Main River, boasting stunning neo-Gothic architecture. Despite its proximity to the bustling international tourist center along the riverbanks, stepping through its majestic doors transports visitors to a serene world. The church's "high choir" upstairs offers a quiet and contemplative atmosphere that makes one feel as though they have traveled through centuries.
Love to visit such a historical church in my life time, Must visited place of Frankfurt city. Lot of stories to tell in terms of back to the future. Stunning views 🎁💫🎄
Sudhin R — Google review
Dreikönigskirche, or the Church of the Three Kings, is one of Frankfurt’s most beautiful and underrated historical landmarks. Nestled along the south bank of the River Main in the Sachsenhausen district, directly across from the Frankfurt Cathedral (Kaiserdom), this neo-Gothic Protestant church is a perfect mix of architectural elegance and spiritual calm. Built in the late 19th century (completed in 1881 and remodeled in 1956 after WWII damage), the church features a striking 81-meter spire, dramatic stained-glass windows, and a beautifully restored interior. The high vaulted ceilings and soft lighting inside create a serene atmosphere ideal for quiet reflection, prayer, or simply taking a break from the city bustle.

Nice church, not far off the bridge. Peaceful and quite, with woundeful architecture. Worth a short pitstop to explore and enjoy the architecture. Highly recommend visit
James P — Google review
[CANDLELIGHT CONCERT] Nothing special. If you dont buy front row tickets and come 45 minutes earlier then you definitely will not see the candles. Because all people’s backs will stop your vision, that’s a church, not a stadium or a stage. (See the picture to know more) They don’t let people take pictures or videos during the performance. Which makes no sense. The organization was poor when they let people come in without checking the tickets (the rang/seat) we bought. So if you buy D and you sneak to A, they do not know. The performance was also not worth the money unfortunately. The MC was a member of the band and he led the show awkwardly

Eschenheimer Turm, also known as Eschenheim Tower, is a unique 15th-century landmark in Frankfurt. It is the oldest unchanged landmark in the city and was designed by Madern Gerthener. The tower now houses a restaurant serving global cuisine, a cozy lounge, and outdoor seating. Located in Frankfurt's LGBTQ+-friendly area known as Bermudadreieck, it is surrounded by some of the best gay bars in the city.
Me and my friends had a wonderful dinner here! The Flammkuchen was absolutely delicious – we tried both the vegan option and the salmon prawn seafood one, and both were incredibly flavorful and perfectly prepared. The beer selection was excellent and hit the spot. Beyond the amazing food and drink, the staff was incredibly nice, providing great service throughout our meal. The atmosphere was truly fantastic, making for a really enjoyable evening. It was totally worth it, and we definitely plan to visit again soon!

Good food. Burgers, salad, bruchetta, champions all tasty. However, the humus seemed to be from a family pack / super market. Inside the restaurant was a bit too cool. The winter garden is smoking area with some hot spots. For parking choose a parking garage nearby. No toilet for wheelchairs.

Great landmark location directly at the Eschenheimer Turm/Eschenheimer tower. The restaurant is in the Eschenheimer tower, with great sitting space outside. The historic significance , built in the 1400s adds value to the space. Recommend the burger and fries, friends had the flame and seafood they also loved it. Opens until past midnight so available foe a late meal too.

Thought this was going to be a tourist trap with overpriced average food. How wrong was I? The best beyond meat vegan burger ever with side of fries dusted in paprika served on a brioche with mayo and ketchup on the side. It's in a historic tower in the middle of Frankfurt. The toilets are up the tower, so make sure you've got plenty of time. A really great experience.

During my stay in Frankfurt lastJune, I discovered near my hotel a lovely Coffee-Bar-Restaurant called Eschenheimer. Very good dishes with courteous and professional service. I chose the place to be my home restaurant so I had the chance to taste several dishes ... and each dish was a bingo! Meat, seafood, pizzas, interesting salads ... and great beers. i arrived to Frankfurt once again few days ago and I’m dining there almost every day lunch or dinner. I enjoyed being there on June and I’m happy to be there again this week !
עופר צ — Google review
Great place for a cocktail. Happy hour until 22:00. Be warned though the toilets are at the top of the tower! Service is quick and friendly. Prices are reasonable. There’s a cocktail happy hour 18:00-22:00 with many offered at a reduced price of €9.50. Didn’t have food but what other guests had looked good.
Michael M — Google review
Fantastic place to enjoy some drink after dinner. There are many tables outside (blankets are provided for those who suffer cold) and the bar is inside a tall tower you can easy spot from the neighborhood. Sound strange, but I suggest you taking some time to "visit" the toilet that on the 1st floor of the tower (take care of the stairs if you enjoyed too much drinks)
Enrico P — Google review
This restaurant has something very special, is inside and around a tower which was build around the year 1346, the tower was used to protect the city at that time, today this tower at Frankfurt downtown and you can test great international food. Inside the tower, the space is reduced and there is space for the bar and few tables but as mentioned previously around the tower they have tables too, either you want to enjoy good food inside or outside the atmosphere of the place is really nice. What not everybody know is that in this restaurant if you have a bigger event or special occasion you can make a reservation of what they call „Kaminzimmer“ this place is at the top of the tower and has much more space and is really nice to enjoy your drinks and food at the top of the tower. The food that I recommend is the one on hot stones, I love the stakes, prawns or chicken but they have great salads, pasta, pizza, etc. for drinks as well they have a big selection of wines and cocktails. On regards price i think you pay for what you get that is a great experience, moment and good food and drinks. The staff is friendly just in crowded ours somethings you need to wait a little bit to get serve. If you are near to Frankfurt and you are looking for a special place where to enjoy good food and drinks don’t hesitate to visit the Eschenheimer Turn restaurant you will like it.

St. Catherine's Church, located in the heart of Frankfurt, is a prominent example of Baroque architecture and is the largest Protestant church in the city. Despite being heavily damaged during World War II, it was rebuilt with simplicity but retained its charm and tranquility. Dedicated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria, this church has a rich tradition of church music that it proudly upholds.

Giorgio G — Google review
We recently passed by St. Catherine's Church (Katharinenkirche) located at Hauptwache and Roßmarkt and enjoyed our brief visit. The church is dedicated to 4th-century Martyre Catherine of Alexandria and has a history dating back to the 14th-century. Originally a Catholic church until the Reformation Period, St. Catherine's is now the largest Protestant church in the city. The church building that you find today is a 1950's rebuild of the 17th-century Baroque style church that burned down during WWII bombing raids. During the church rebuild, a simpler and modest interior was given to the church. In later decades an important cycle of Baroque paintings removed prior to the church being destroyed have begun to be reinstalled in the church. These are nice to see along with a few other historic items which have been returned to adorn the main church hall. The exterior of the church was and has been restored to resemble its pre-war era appearance. Note: During our December visit, we found much scaffolding and protective material basically covering the entire exterior of St. Catherine's Church as part of restoration efforts. This gives the church the appearance of being closed but it is not. There is a marked open passage for visitors to use to enter and visit the inside of the church. Definitely worth a few minutes to view the inside if you've the time.

The Frankfurt Archaeological Museum, located in a restored monastery, offers a comprehensive exploration of the city's history from the Neolithic to early modern eras. It is one of the must-see attractions in Frankfurt, along with other landmarks like Romerberg and Stadel Museum. The museum reflects Frankfurt's commitment to cultural participation by offering free admission to young visitors under 18 through the Kultur- und Freizeitticket (KUFTI) program.
Very interesting museum especially the exhibition on German internment camps that have been excavated in recent years and this part of museum has English subtitles Rest of museum interesting too but all in German which is not a problem with goggle translate Well worth a visit and the building itself is stunning

Very nice museum with interesting exhibits and impressive displays of architectural history. However, many things weren’t translated into English, which made it hard to fully understand everything. The staff were super lovely and helpful, and the building itself is beautiful. Worth a visit if you’re into architecture!

Wonderful exhibits but a pity mostly in German so come prepared with mobile data and battery power. Spent almost 3 hours here despite not knowing a word of German. It’s a pity many visitors are put off by the lack of English. Hope they get the funding for English translations soon.

Great small/mid-size museum in the former church, lots of relics of Mithras worshipping. Only a few texts in English. Small bookshop, only German books. No cafeteria.

It is possible to take advantage of their regularly scheduled English Tours. These take place at 3pm (1500) the last Sunday of the month April through October. The extra fee is 3-5 eu. Private tours in English, for small or large groups, are easy to schedule by sending an email request through their website-the regular tour also includes the Kaiserpfalz location.

Historical landmark
New Old Town in Frankfurt, also known as Frankfurts Old Town, is a district that was partly destroyed during World War II but has been restored to its prewar look. The area features ornate townhouses and medieval buildings, giving visitors a glimpse of how Frankfurt once looked. Notable landmarks include the Alte Oper opera house and the iconic Haus zur goldenen Waage.
It is the heart of the city. Basically after Dom and all other beautiful things you end up here. It is very touristic but still quite nice and peaceful. There are lots of decent restaurants all around where you can enjoy.
Mustafa A — Google review
The buildings that were destroyed during the war have been reconstructed to match the aesthetics and architecture of the old building. Every building has a story to tell and history to reveal. There are a lot of cafes and shopping spots here. It was amazing walking along the buildings
Abhishek K — Google review
Loved it here, the square was so pretty and relaxing. A few lovely restaurants, most wanted you to have food and wouldn't just serve drinks, but we did find one at the end that was happy to just serve drinks. The square was smaller than I anticipated but the river walk, the iron bridge, boat trips, and bars along the river were amazing, really welcoming and buzzing with music and people, such a great atmosphere. I visited for a long weekend and spent each evening beside the river. The shops had a good range of souvenirs as well as practical items, and no matter where we went out who were spoke to, everyone was so friendly, informative and welcoming, even with my very poor attempts at speaking German.

New old town was an interesting walk through. Has some nice little shops and cafes, as well as some churches and historical buildings. We didn't have a plan for anything to do while here, so it was an enjoyable walk.

It’s nice that they could reconstruct the old town. However I think they could’ve brought back more buildings, the old town is small, but it is cute. Just a shame they didn’t make it bigger, but it’s still nice.

Cool area to explore, the architecture is great. One of the only areas in Frankrurt that isnt covered in Graffiti. Police actually patrol here, which is rare elsewhere in Frankfurt.

We loved the history, the shops, the food, the people and the view!! Our trip was shortened by some rain, but we enjoyed strolling through the streets and chatting with the shop owners. We had café and sweets, bought so.e wine to take home and some special soaps. We found mustard and jelly to take home as well as chocolates!!

An old lady did not let us in the exhibition room because we were wearing our jackets. She was just plain rude and didn’t explain anything. We asked another staff she said the cloak room is in the other end of the room we tried to enter. What was her point? Tried to make herself feel important. We gave back and tickets and left.

Old cloister converted in an exhibition space. It usually holds interesting "discursive" exhibitions about Frankfurt with panels and memorabilia. The cloister can be visited as well and by itself is reason enough to check this place. It's gold as well for people interested in Frankfurt's recent urban developments. Avoid visiting it when the guided tours take place, the room is practically full and it's nearly impossible to focus and enjoy the visit.

The museum of the city of Frankfurt is small, but nice. It accurately presents the earliest history of this ancient town. As for the city archive on the first floor -- well, I'm disappointed with the people working there. I travelled 100 km only to find out that someone forgot to sent me an email. I needed expertise help and instead I got a history book...

Visitors can stroll through this open-air museum at no cost and marvel at well-preserved ruins that tell stories of ancient times. The site features informative signs in both German and English, making it accessible for all who wish to explore its historical significance.
Great descriptions in German and English, images and artificial reconstructions. Shows the originally Roman ruins which have been built upon as the purpose of the space changed. It’s free and nice to walk through.

Free tour. Only opens up at specific times of the day. Get to see some official Roman remains that they found after digging up to rebuild various buildings. Was nice to see some of the descriptions in both German and English. Some weren't and had to use Google translate. They even tried recreating what the structures would have looked like in Roman times. Really interested to take a look round
Mike R — Google review
I recently visited the Roman ruins and was disappointed to see that they were not better protected. While it was interesting to see such ancient ruins in the midst of a modern city, the fact that a building had been constructed on top of them detracted from the experience. I would not recommend going out of your way to visit this site, as it is not well-preserved and does not offer a particularly memorable experience.

Embark on the "Cooking the World - Frankfurt Food Tours" with a local guide to delve into the culinary scene of Frankfurt. This 3-hour tour takes you through charming Sachsenhausen, where you'll visit traditional apple wine taverns and savor Frankfurt's specialty dishes at 2-3 stops within walking distance. The experience includes sampling three local drinks, sharing six dishes, and indulging in a delightful dessert.
Favorite food tour of our trip! Marta was incredibly enthusiastic, knowledgeable, & fun! The food was phenomenal; no short cuts on trying to save money and provide “cheaper food.” A plethora of good quality food! We couldn’t eat it all. Marta took us to local apple winebars that we would have never had the pleasure of trying without this food tour. Highly recommend!! Will definitely tour with her again if ever back in Frankfurt.

So much fun with Marta! We loved trying all the traditional German food especially things we would never have a chance to try in Texas. While on the tour Marta gave us the culinary & historical background on each food/beverage. Definitely a highlight of our short 1.5 days in Frankfurt!

A wonderful food tour!! Probably my favorite food I had in Germany! Marta was so awesome and enthusiastic about the specific German food offered in Frankfurt. Along with the wonderful apple wine! Would highly recommend!

This was an absolutely excellent food tour with a lot of food and even more helpful information provided by Marta which gave real colour to the tour and what the local cuisine is like. It's clear that Marta is exceptionally passionate about food and this comes through in her energy and love to explain and show you everything. I can't recommend this enough if you are in Frankfurt and Marta is always helpful and goes the extra mile to ensure that you not only enjoy the food but have a great understanding of everything and enjoy your experience. Highly recommended if you are in Frankfurt.

We had a great experience with Marta! She was very knowledgeable and passionate about the food from Frankfurt. She was also very flexible! My wife is vegetarian and she created a last minute vegetarian tour to accommodate her dietary restrictions. We got to try and learn a lot about the authentic food and apple wine in the area! Even though there was no meat the food was fulfilling and delicious and we even got to try some dessert! We were only there for one night and decided to do it in the morning at 11am (flight was at 5pm) and we still had more than enough time! I would definitely recommend this tour to everybody that wants to experience the culture even if your only in the area for a short time!
Tim O — Google review
My girlfriend and I were traveling from the U.S. and wanted to do a food tour. After looking up options on Trip Advisor it appeared we had a few options but Marta's food tour was the only real one. There is a difference in the price point for this food tour versus the other ones that are available and there is a good reason for it. Traditionally on food tours, the person who gives the tour is able to secure discounts for smaller portions and a lesser dining experience. This is not something thats an option for anyone who is giving a food tour in this area and at the end of the day its not something you want. Marta's tour gives you the experience of what its like to eat in this area like a local. The dishes that she has you eat are full portions so you are definitely getting the full value of what you pay for the tour. Onto the actual tour now. Marta takes you to a number of places to try their local dishes and also their apfelwein (apple wine). She tells you about the history of it and its local presence. Its always great to not only eat on these tours but learn about the local traditions and history. Marta does an excellent job of delivering on this. All of the food we ate was amazing. This is also something that separates this tour from the others available. You will see the other tours take you to restaurants that are not local/traditional food. All of the food we ate were full dishes of what someone who lives in the area would order. While the food and drink was great, Marta's personality and our conversation is what made the tour what it was. She is very funny and transparent. We had so many questions that she was willing to answer. She also offered advice on what to do in the area that went above and beyond the tour. There is so much I could say about this tour but I will simply leave it at it is a must-do for anyone visiting the area. My girlfriend and I have done many food tours and this one was amongst our favorites. Would highly recommend for any family or friends.

We booked a private tour for four of us. We loved this unique experience touring three different family owned businesses in Frankfurt. Marta was very kind and has an excitment for local food that is refreshing. If you try to book online and the time is unavailable, text or call her and she is willing to be flexible on the tour times. Be willing to try new foods on this tour and it focuses on the traditional local cusine.

Very nice old church and the Capuchin monks like Fr. Jürgen are really nice, good warm-hearted and offer their help and advice. The church is not so big like the cathedral but beautiful, there are confessions every day (Morning and Afternoon), also more than 1 mass per day and people pray the Rosary there. You really feel the faith/Jesus here.

The Church of Our Lady (Liebfrauenkirche) is located just south of The Zeil at Liebfrauenberg, one of the oldest public squares in the Old Town of Frankfurt. Historically, the church seems to have been originally constructed between the 14th and 16th centuries and given a Baroque makeover between 1763-71. Unfortunately the church burned down as a result of WWII bombings and lost the vast majority of its valuables. It remained in ruins until being rebuilt in 1955/56. What you see today comes after extensive renovations between 2017-19. It is a nice church structure with modern features. The interior does look rather new, nave pillars lined with statues. Choir, apse and side aisles decorated modestly and respectfully. Worth a brief visit and look around if you enjoy seeing historic churches, even those with fairly recent rebuilds, during your travels.

The Westend Synagogue, built between 1908 and 1910, is an imposing and opulent structure with a rich historic past. It is one of the oldest synagogues in Germany and survived the Night of Broken Glass in 1938. The architecture, both inside and outside, is stunning, making it a protected historical monument. Guided tours are available for visitors to explore its rich history. The synagogue warmly welcomes all parishioners for services that start promptly.
Synagogue is beautiful . We arrived noon time to pray, long after Shachris services. The security guard kindly allowed us to enter after showing our passports.
Morris L — Google review
I visited this synagogue some time ago and have only now found the courage to share what happened. As a Muslim woman, passionate about interfaith and a husband with Jewish heritage, I’ve visited many places of worship with openness and respect. Sadly, this was the first time I experienced discrimination for my faith. I had pre-booked a guided tour like everyone else, and no ID requirement was mentioned. Upon arrival - visibly Muslim - I was the only one asked to present a passport by the Synagogue's security. All other (white, non-Muslim) guests were let in without ID or question. While my husband offered to run to get my ID, I asked if I could wait in the doorway for shelter as it was raining heavily. I was met with a cold, intimidating glare and told no. I was left standing outside in the rain, visibly unwelcome, made to feel inferior and humiliated, while other visitors looked on. I remained silent, afraid of being stereotyped as an “angry Muslim woman” if I defended myself. Eventually, I was let in - after my passport was brought, and after I was intimidated and discriminated against. What could have been a meaningful interfaith exchange became a painful reminder of how easily prejudice can be dressed as protocol. The irony wasn’t lost on me: this synagogue is protected by German police 24/7 (who weren't a part of this) - security funded by public money, including mine as a taxpayer. Yet someone like me, who came in peace and curiosity, was treated with genuine hate and discrimination. It’s painful to see victimhood weaponised to justify the mistreatment of others. This review is not a blanket judgement of the Jewish community - far from it. I’ve met many kind, open-hearted Jewish individuals who would be appalled by this. But institutions, especially religious ones, must be held accountable when they fail to reflect the values they stand for. To the leadership of this synagogue: Please reflect on the environment you’re creating. Prejudice has no place in any house of worship. As the Jewish teaching says: "What is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow." This simple truth should guide us all, regardless of religion. Some of the people we met once we were inside were absolutely lovely and caring - that should be reflected in the rest of its members.

The Rich History Of The Synagogue is Amazing. All of the parishioners welcomed me warmly & openly. Services started exactly on time. Coming from North America (with my own prayer book) I literally had to “Speed Read” to keep up with how fast the worshipers were reading.

One of the few synagogues in Frankfurt to survive WWII, Westend Synagogue is a significant religious and architectural landmark. Its blend of Art Nouveau and neo-Romanesque styles illustrates the rich Jewish heritage and resilience in Frankfurt.
Arman K — Google review
One of the oldest synagogues of Germany and one of two synagogues that have survived the Night of Broken Glass 1938. The architecture of the synagogue inside and outside is absolutely stunning, the building itself is a historical monument and therefore protected! There is guided tours that you can book! (NOTE: The building and its area is highly protected by the German Police, please behave respectfully!)

A most beautiful place. You feel like you are going back in time . The regulars are warm and inviting

Absolutely gorgeus, even though the acoustics are slightly off. As a general note, as long as you avoid politics the Frankfurt Jewish community is very inclusive 😊.

It's a beautiful stone church in the middle of a small park. There are several daycares and kindergartens in the area and quite a few kids and their pare tend to frequent the park on weekday afternoons. It's definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. It's also a good place to escape the noise of the two thoroughfares into the city passing nearby.

I'm new to Frankfurt and was looking for a English speaking church to go to. Riverside Church didn't disappoint. The Sermans are full of pulsating energy, love and we'll thought out verse references. The Pastors lovely wife translates the sermans into German, in live time, next to the pastor. Highly recommend. Especially for English only speakers like myself. Keep up the great work. May God smile on you always

Spirit filled church with wonderful loving people. If you’d like to really feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in a church you have to listen to pastor nick in the river church Frankfurt. He’s truly anointed.

River church Frankfurt is an amazing church! I recently moved to Frankfurt and I was really searching for an English speaking church where I could feel at home. I found them online and from the first service I attended I knew it was for me. Pastor Nick and Pastor Janina are wonderful people. I highly recommend this church.

We went to the church with no expectations and came out encouraged to walk stronger in the faith. It was an amazing experience to walk down a quiet street in Frankfurt and being led to the church with audible, beautiful praise and worship melodies. A beautiful way to start a Sunday. Be blessed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this Spirit-filled worship and sermon. Pastors Nick and Janina led a passionate dual language English and German message that touched our hearts. I highly recommend River Church Frankfurt to be recharged and encouraged.

The Jesuit Church of St. Ignatius is a stunning Baroque masterpiece with intricate stucco work and impressive frescoes, offering a serene atmosphere for reflection. Situated along the shores of Lake Lucerne, this 17th-century church boasts a rich history and timeless elegance. It features ornate interior architecture and stained glass windows that create a welcoming space filled with wooden devotional statues.
I went there for a concert in the evening. I intend to return for mass to see the natural light through the stained glass windows; Jesuit liturgies in Germany are usually excellent: tasteful and thought provoking but not pompous. The building is a great example of 20th century "brutalist" architecture which manages to create a welcoming space, despite the unadorned concrete, using complex geometric shapes and a series of nooks and crannies filled with wooden devotional statues. The belfry is integrated into the church as an access lift. The church is situated on the first floor and the elevation gives it a certain lightness, while the ground floor contains community spaces and a kind of narthex. In a city full of uninspiring churches which are the product of the post-war reconstruction spree, this bold little church stands out.

Travelled a bit far just to celebrate Mass with the Filipino Community here. The homily gave justice to our tiring travel. Renewed spirit. After the Mass, we had the chance to taste some delicious Filipino food that I've craved for so long. Plus, you get the chance to meet new friends. Soul and Body satisfied. Kudos to the organizers. Our trip was long and tiring but it definitely was worth it. We'll definitely be back. Maraming Salamat at Mabuhay!

A gteat Jewish corner in a city pretty void of any Judaism. Daily prayers (the only place in Frankfurt offering mincha and maariv on week days ) , kind managers who will help with anything you can think of, and families that will make you question ❔ for a second "should I join chabad myself? ". Five stars just because there is no 6.
