Looked up Naegel on Google before my trip to Straussberg. Looked so delicious and the past reviews were correct. Mouth watering pastries, sandwiches, bread etc.. I tried my hand at French...let's say the rest of my conversation was in English. The staff were considerate and kind. Our croissants were very good. Limited seating so don't expect to sit down. It can get busy as it is close to the Cathedral. 4 stars

I shopped at this bakery in Strasbourg twice during my visit. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and their products were truly fresh and delicious. What impressed me the most was when I forgot my phone there on my way back to Germany. When I called, one of the employees answered right away and handled the situation with great care. After taking my address, they promptly sent my phone to my home in Germany. Such reliability and customer care are rare to find. I’m very grateful for their service and kindness. I highly recommend them!

Very pretty pastry shop. Everything looks so good. We tried some & they are all good. Pricy, but not too bad. One negative is there are only 3 tiny bar tables crammed in a corner, so better for take-away.

They mostly look beautiful these fruity tartlets .. they often look better than they taste… not here.. this apricot tartlet was exquisite.. the pastry case, the filling, the fruit, the glaze. And served by lovely people. If you only do one thing in Strasbourg…..

A small hidden café in Petite France — such a cozy spot to start the day. Missed breakfast, but we ordered a pain au chocolat and a cheesecake with some really good coffee. The pace here feels totally different from the main street — slow and peaceful. We had such a relaxing time. Highly recommend!

Loved the first Café Bretelles. Years later we came to Strasbourg again, so the second one was a pleasant surprise. It’s right next to the Petite France, so we started our tour here with a small brunch. Coffee was expectedly fantastic and so was our brunch (sadly eggs Benedict are served only on weekends). I like the building. It’s small, but there are more floors and even a garden in the street. People come to work here on their laptops, which is a plague for modern cafes, but at least they are not allowed on weekends.

This cafe is amazing!! Our first good impression was the kindness of the staff here! They are all so lovely and nice. The atmosphere and overall style of the cafe is really beautiful and cozy ✨ Then our food was served and we were blown away! The breakfast contale was really nice and the cheesecake had stunned us! It really was the best cheesecake we ever had. Definitely recommend coming here!!

One of the best coffee shop with a micro brewery. Very good cheese cake. Many local people come to work so that this is a good place for nomad. Valued coffee. Good place for brunch. Very good lunch as well.

We recently stayed in Strasbourg for a few nights and enjoyed an early morning stop at Coffee Stub along Quai des Pêcheurs. They have a small indoor seating area. You can do take-away as well. Opening hours are 8am to 6pm (weekdays) and 9am to 6pm (weekends). Menu features a selection of simple breakfast orders, desserts, coffees and non-coffee drinks. During our visit we were served a good carrot cake and vegan granola. Americano and Espresso Macchiato were both pretty good as well. Service very friendly, prices reasonable, and overall good vibes in this coffee shop. Would gladly stop here again during future visits to Strasbourg.

We were located in close proximity to the place so in out 4 day visit we had breakfast 2 times here. Both times great great service (big thanks guys), amazing coffee and a lot of options for us and kids to eat for fair price 😍. One thing we didn't appricaited was that second time eggs were served to the kids with peper, which they could not eat without offer from the staff how to solve the situation 🤷‍♂️ Overall we really enjoyed our stay, thanks again ♥️ hope to visit next time as well...

The service was nice. It’s unfortunate that we don’t have alternative to the cakes in the city. What the cake is the main option among very little. Their cakes are okay but nothing special and the portions are pretty small. Some things are obviously freshly made but some have been sitting there. The coffees were nice, pretty classic. Important point: they’re pretty serious about the no laptop rule. So don’t you even dare to think of trying to work on your laptop or ask for the wifi password. It’s forbidden all days of the week, all hours. I felt uncomfortable with the amount of times they plastered this rule inside of the cafe. I don’t think I’ll be returning here. I really hope there’ll be a new cake shop alternative in the city soon.

Super cute cafe!! We sat on the second floor and it felt quite magical. The cafe is decorated with various plants, flowers, paintings and mirrors and it comes together to create a kind of cozy atmosphere. Lovely! The carrot cake was good but slightly dry. But still five stars for the overall feel and experience. Bring a friend or a book and go hang out here, totally worth it!

Two vegan cake options and both were delicious! Peanut butter cake was quite heavy but had an awesome real peanut taste and the cheesecake was really creamy with a note of citrus.

Beuatiful little Cafe near the city center! Special lunch menu between 12 and 14 pm with salads and wraps! But enough of that. The cupcakes and cakes are real bombs! Don't be fooled by their size! One piece is more than enough. The coffee is great and the ambiente cozy. It's like a mixture of primary school and grannie's home in the 60th!

Lovely little place in Strasbourg for dessert or a small bite. The desserts are delicious and all gluten free. We tried the vanilla cheesecake and the chocolate peanut cake which were both sooooo goood 😍 heavenly even. Highly recommended!

First of all, slow service. I do not know why, but it took me a lot longer to get served than everyone else. Once I addressed the wait issue, I was finally served but now with dirty mug and saucer. Not a big deal, I just wiped it with a napkin, but not a good impression either. Desserts were okay. I personally liked Le Galet better than La Fraise. Much stronger flavor and tasted better with coffee. The strawberry one was kind of plain. Update: I sat down outside first. Saw the waitress passing me a couple of times, and there was no greeting or menu explanation. So I moved to inside and then sat down in a little sofa thing and the same thing. Then I stood next to the window seat because that's where I wanted to sit down, and that again took forever. I really do not know why, but the waitress(es) cleaned all the tables inside and outside, but not that one. That's when I walked back to the cash register and asked the cashier lady if I could order first because at that point, I was going to wait forever. I sat down at the uncleaned table, and they finally cleaned it. Other than this weird situation, everything else was okay.

I updated my review from 5 stars to 3 due to an unprofessional manager who prefers customers to leave rather than accommodate small requests. For instance, I tried to order a small item from the breakfast menu about 10 minutes after placing a large order for nearly all the pastries to try. However, I had to cancel the order because the manager chose to argue with me. It seems they believe bad experiences for customers are better for them. Anyway, they don’t seem to care, as the place is fully booked every time. They’ve forgotten how to treat customers and have lost sight of who built their reputation. In my opinion, Pâtisserie Tonton Gâteau is one of the best places for brunch, amazing coffee and heavenly baked stuff in Straßburg. The food menu isn't extensive, but the dishes are incredibly delicious. Their pastries, especially the Citron tarte, are heavenly! The croissants are crafted to perfection, with expertly layered dough. I adore this place and consider it one of the top spots in Straßburg! We were impressed, and would come again very soon!!

This is one small hidden best confectionery and bakery one cannot miss. To me it's Micheline standard for bakery. Absolutely love the raspberry tart. This place have a long queue and people (locals) seemed to liked their breads. The store looks very homey, like the place your family buys bread/pastries to which is nice. But for tourists (like us), you better know what you should get or you’ll clog the line and the staff won’t liked it. Nonetheless, the bread and pastry we got here was nice.

Pain au chocolat a bit empty of chocolate and a 20 minute wait for a coffee. But the queue outside was very long: it must be one of the best places! Next time we’ll try something different. Wait to be impressed☀️💙

La Gare’mandise is a lovely boulangerie in Strasbourg. We really enjoyed their éclair, which had a nice balance of flavor, and the croissant au framboise was a pleasant surprise with its flaky texture and sweet raspberry filling. The pastries are clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients, and the variety on offer is impressive. While the shop can get a bit busy, the service is efficient, and the overall experience is enjoyable. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the neighborhood!

This is my regular breakfast/brunch place as it's close by my hotel. So many sweet and savoury options to choose from. And the staff are so friendly and smiley. My favourite is the coppa et comte baguette 😋 I have to agree. The coffee is just awful.

Very good boulangerie, very kind and polite staff. We tried quiche, croissant, pain au chocolates and brioche pistache. Food was amazing and fresh. Prices are very fair.

It is just right in front of the Gate, train station. Love the pastries here, they are so fluffy and soft, so delicious! Brioche orange, croissant and kouign-amann are to die for! Highly recommend.

Great bakery with kind and happy staff! Croissants was great. They have many different desserts that you can try. Chocolate croissant is highly recommended. Eclairs was not great but decent. It can be very crowded so you need to get food take away, there is a park in front of it so if the weather is good it won’t be problem.

Like many others here, we happened to stumble upon this shop while wandering through the streets. What a find! We got the Esprit du Mékong ganache and we really regret not buying more. We didn’t buy much because we were headed to Switzerland next, but this was one of the best chocolates I’ve had in my life. Also love that the chocolates are direct trade. If I ever go back to Strasbourg, it will be to visit this little shop.

This place was an AMAZING find. We just happened to notice it while exploring the city and our family needed both a break and a treat. The store smells amazing and the chocolate was so good - deep rich flavor but also incredibly accessible. The customer service was also friendly and helpful.

You will find very nice chocolate (who knew right?) and chocolate related products in this small shop located off of the busy street. Most of the chocolate, or cocoa beans I should say, come(s) from Vietnam, which was quite a surprise for me since most of the cocoa beans are usually sourced from countries in Africa. They also make seasonal chocolate figurines so you will find nice souvenirs during i.e. Easter or Christmas.

Great tearoom in the first floor . Wonderful old spiral staircase. Perfect ambience in a otherwise overrun city . The patisserie was great.

We waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order and then another 40 minutes to receive 2 cappuccino and 2 cakes, but after all this time, the waitress came to us with the wrong order. No excuses were given, no answer when we asked for how long we will have to wait. Since we had scheduled other plans, we got up and left without anything after almost 1 hour of waiting. I would never recommend it!

Amazing ice-cream. Definitely one of the best so far. They have cone as well as stick. The strawberry yogurt and pistachio raspberry were delicious.

This pastry shop serves the best apple pie I’ve ever tasted — truly exceptional! It’s definitely worth a visit and highly recommended.

Not bad. Nice to sit down after a long walk. They have different kinds of cheesecake and I ordered the pistachio cheesecake with cherries. In terms of the flavor its a decent cake but I couldn’t taste much of any cheese flavor. Also the outer ‘crust’ of the cake is weird, tough and tasteless, but other part of the cake is good enough. It’s not very dense. The portion is big but it’s rather a light one. The jam is slightly too sour. The hot chocolate ginger was ok. Although it is powdered chocolate, the ginger taste is there. Good service.

This is a nice patisserie and tea room along Rue de l'Outre which has an indoor seating area as well as take-away service. You can view their fine dessert selections in the window before stepping in to make purchase decisions which staff will prepare and package for you. Opening hours are 8.30am to 6.30pm (closed on Sundays and Mondays). We did take-way from Patisserie Christian recently and quite enjoyed their pistachio and praline roll slices and a chocolate style tart back in our apartment. Everything tasted quite good, worthy or return visits to pick up more of their delicate and nice tasting desserts.

We were captivated by the beautifully decorated storefront in the Christmas theme after visiting the Strasbourg Christmas Market. Inside, the staff were friendly and gave excellent recommendations. We tried the chocolate mousse and hazelnut cake, which paired perfectly with coffee. The flavors were delightful, and the experience made our visit to Strasbourg even more special.

This is very famous, traditional patisserie in Strasbourg. They owner is changed recently but she also respects the tradition of Christian and it is always same as before. If you feel like a princess or high class European atmosphere, this is the place to come. I highly recommend their hot chocolate. Very rich and tasty. Many varieties of good quality hot chocolate.

I tried the local famous “Kougelhopf”! It is cone-shaped, decorated with snow-white powdered sugar, and added with nuts and raisins. So delicious and not too sweet!❤️ Also, the staff friendly introduced the patisseries for me and shared a tip about how to pick a well-baked bread…😆🤫🤩

One of the nice pastry shops in town; always fresh pastries in the morning and wide range of drinks. The service can be a bit improved, but overall is a great place to meet friends or do your work meetings while enjoying their pastries and drinks.

Hidden corner outside but always busy without having a crazy line. 1 scoop for €2.30 will get you an amazing ice cream, really recommended!

Found this cafe by chance. Actually, we just wanted a coffee before going for lunch later. But being a fan of cinnamon rolls, I couldn't resist getting one. And oh my God, I'm so glad I didn't miss it! It was so delicious! So if you love cinnamon rolls like I do and you happen to be in Strasbourg, do not miss it.

Food and drinks are great, I recommend getting the matcha latte bloom style with a marbré cake. The customer service is decent and the ambiance is great. During summer, stay outside! There’s a nice and cool breeze. Overall, it’s a great coffee with a very very pretty decoration.

They were out of milk at a breakfast restaurant so… no latte, cappuccino, chai , or anything else that requires milk. When we order they only brought 3 sets of silverware, we were with 5 people. When we asked for 2 more sets they said they were out of forks and brought 2 knives and a spoon. It was an interesting experience to put it nicely.

The food looked good (we did not eat because we actually did not stay. We were 9 people including 3 children and 1 infant. The waiter decided to squeeze us on a single table that could fit max 6 people. We asked to split between 2 tables and the waiter said he has to fit in the maximum number of people so he can get more people in. I understand from a business perspective you want to fit in a lot of people so to make more money. However it should not be at the detriment of your customer’s experience. We actually sat down. However the seats were so squeezed that we could not even get near the table. So we decided to leave. Bottom line, you decided to ignore your client’s comfort and also did not care about quality of service. The impact: you lost 8 clients and maybe if you did care about your clients, I would be writing a different review today. Your food actually looked very good, but unfortunately your behaviour was not acceptable to us. I hope this will help you improve your quality of service.

So so breakfast place. The service was good. And the tea is delicious. But the croissants are not very good and the knife is not clean. The breakfasts are delicious and prepared quickly. The child did not like the cake. We would come back here for tea.

Lovely cafe with lovely staff. Had the "eggs Benedict" which included a nice lemonade and a delicious cheesecake. The eggs were with smoked salmon, so not sure why they were not called "Eggs Royale" as it is common, but in any case it is my favourite variation anyway. It was a bit of a shame on both of our plates were a little undercooked (some runny white).

Unfortunately my chai tea was mostly milk and was cold. I odered eggs benedict on a muffin and got eggs royale, but it tasted good and was served with a salad. They do a two drink deal, their home made still lemonade was very nice. It's a cafe where people like to work on their laptops (but they're not allowed on Saturdays). The wifi code is on your receipt.

Random visit on a rainy morning. Eggs Benedict with poached eggs were great, coffee is more on sour side, not my thing. Clean toilet which is a big plus. On the table or at least close by when eating i would welcome the salt and pepper shakers. Breakfast here - anytime ❤️

Very nice coffee and food. Set menu is a good idea (18 Euro with Eggs Benedict, cold drink, hot drink) for a breakfast, quite delicious and well served. Service was also quicker than I expected. Downstairs a bit crowded due to table placement but upstairs are quite free. It looks like also ideal for work from cafe idea.

Delicious quiche and sandwich. Selection of chocolates and pastries. Very friendly service even though my French was minimal. They heated our selection and wow did they ever taste great. Bought a selection of chocolates to bring back home for the family. Just 2 minutes walk from the central train station. Perfect for a bite before getting the train back to Paris! Recommended.

The place has slightly changed its concept and nicely refreshed its interior. It has always been a very pleasant spot with excellent service and high-quality products, but now it has become even better! I had a mini chicken pie, and it just melted in my mouth! Very tourist friendly, awesome service and smiles all around. Worth every penny in a generally hostile France. The croissant and the tarte was delicious. Best experience in Strasbourg for sure.

The service was absolutely disgusting. I waited for 10 minutes without being served, though there were as many as three ladies by the counter. They seemed to be busy, then one of them started accepting my order but once I asked for first cake, she went away for a few minutes. Other ladies kept ignoring me. The first one returted and... began accepting an offer from another customer entered after me! I was standing by the counter as I was invisible. There were no obvious reasons of mistreating me, so I suppose they were just racists not serving me because of English used as my language.

The pastries are not that good. The tourte was better and didn't tried any of the cakes. So very mixed feelings about this place. But if you're looking for pastries you can find better elsewhere and I'm sure not that far away

This little place offers you delightful pastries and drinks. This is the tastiest tart I have ever tasted. The service is good, possible to seat in the terrace. Will definitely go there again. In the meantime, I recommend you to try this desert.

An absolutely delightful find in the middle of World’s Christmas Capital!! We spent three days in Strasbourg and today we came across Amande et Cannelle. From the moment we walked in, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We bought a variety of pastries, and every single one of them was absolutely delicious, the ingredients blended together beautifully. If brunch runs from 11-15h, then please at least ensure there is enough food for everyone at each service. Waste of money for €70 and my first and last time here.

Great place, we've been coming here before the change of name/owners. The bakery section has a good variety of very nice products, sweet and savoury. Sometimes we take brunch there, it's very good with nice ingredients. Make sure you book before, we always see lots of people getting sent away since all the tables are reserved! The ambience is warm and cozy, you can have a nice chat whilst you enjoy your food/warm drinks.

I visited this place on a Saturday evening and they were sold out! I now really wanted to taste some of their work. Before leaving Strasbourg on Sunday, I visited here. Unfortunately, Sundays are only for takeaways! So I got a 100% pistachio choux and Entremet Vanille Fruits Rouges packed. The Vanilla fruit Entremet had a rich vanilla flavour with fruit filling inside, mostly berries I guess. The sourness sharply cut through the sweetness. But for me, the pistachio choux sealed it!! It was pure indulgence. The pistachio filling inside the choux pastry was slightly sweet and the outer one was nutty and buttery. I was blown away by the balance of this dish. The choux itself was light and perfectly baked. 10/10 for the choux!!

So happy we stumbled upon this charming pastry shop! The tarts were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious — we especially loved the tart base, perfectly crisp and buttery. A lovely little gem in Strasbourg, hope to be back!

The ´ choux pistache ‘ was also fairly tasty but the pistache caramel filling was a bit too heavy for me. For the ´cookie pépite de chocolat pistache’, it tasted too sweet and too salty for me… Overall, it is worthy to try this patisserie.

I think over-baked instead of from the day before. On another day I tried the pecan nut roll. It is more wet because I guess sugar syrup. Generally very sweet. Pecan nuts are nicely roasted but could be in larger quantity. The top nut cream was nice, taste like artisan praline. But too sweet for breakfast and too stuffy for a dessert. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Alsace doesn’t have good pastry bakeries which makes sense as people here don’t love it. They love bready stuff like Gugelhupf 😱 so this kind of shop is special and sells for high prices. Pain au chocolat 2.5 and the pecan roll for 4.5.

I took Trio-Chocolat and i have to say that it is one of the best Trio-Chocolat i ever had. It was very very light to eat which makes it super enjoyable. The staff are very very polite and they speak English too. I am sure that i will visit this place more frequently from now on.

My wife and I visited on one of our last days in Strasbourg, and we did our best to order a variety from the window. All in all we got a baguette traditionale, a custard pastry, a pack of madeleines, a croissant naturale, and a viennois pastry. First things first, the baguette was still warm at 10:00am, and smelt so good that the both of us just bit into it immediately after exiting the bakery, likely to the bewilderment of any locals around us. The crisp (but not hard) crust, as well as the soft but chewy interior was the stuff of dreams. The croissant was unfortunately cold, but remained flaky, buttery, and generally met our expectations for a croissant from France. Similarly for the custard pastry, though it was a little too sweet for our liking (although I do think that matches the local taste). The viennois was flavourful, with 4 distinct layers and a variety of textures, most from the noisettes (though again quite sweet). Finally, the pack of madeleines were a little disappointing as they were a little dry and not as buttery as some others we've tasted from around the place. But in generally still a great place to get your fix of fresh bread and pastries in Strasbourg!
