Really has come on and improved. The bay is now fully open and vibrant. The ghost development of past has come of age. Really pleasant on a hot sunny day. Enjoy a reasonably price boat trip out if the weather is fine

A really brilliant experience here. Make sure you download the audio guide and bring your earphones. One thing I would have preferred is that their locations and different numbers so you would know what to listen to add particular spots. But it's great to see so many languages catered for and despite it being busy, it was a really peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere. Definitely a highlight on my trip to Cardiff.

Lovely well-maintained castle, friendly staff, and spacious lawns which make for a beautiful sight. It’a not very big but it’s lovely to see and the Firing Line museum below is informative and interesting. Worth a visit!

Definitely worth the trip to the castle. The views from the top are amazing. Quite steep steps to go up to the top though. I would also recommend doing the tour for the extra money. The tour takes you to some extra places that you are not allowed to go on with a standard admission ticket. You will need to look at the times when the tours take place before you go.

Cardiff Castle was a fantastic experience. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the grounds felt like a peaceful mini park in the heart of the city. I joined a guided tour to explore the stunning Castle Apartments, including the ornate Arab Room and Roof Garden — absolutely worth it. Climbing the Norman Keep’s steep stairs rewarded me with breathtaking panoramic views of Cardiff. The castle’s mix of rich history, beautiful architecture, and family-friendly atmosphere makes it a must-visit. Highly recommended!

This castle is worth visiting. Many things to see and do. The house is lovely and there’s an informative museum too. Children love to roam at the ground. No parking available on the site. You need to find one on the other place.

Lovely castle at the heart of Cardiff city centre. One of the most well-preserved castles we visited. We visited on a weekday so it was not too crowded. The highlight was walking through the WW2 air raid shelter. The posters, the darkness and the sound effects from the speakers really enhanced our experience and we felt as if we travelled back in time. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our visit and we highly recommend it as a must see when you visit Cardiff.

Viewed this castle the rooms are very art deco it's amazing how they painted the walls and I do love the stain glass windows. If you feel you have the energy the steps to the castle ruins is a must as it shows views over the town.

What an experience! Two very contrasting parts - natural history and art. The museum is completely free and, very kindly stored my suitcase whilst visiting. Several staff members engaged to discuss the exhibits - I found out that T Rex hunted in packs AND made a noise akin to a turkey, not a roar! A great way to spend the afternoon (especially if you're a kid).

Reminded me of the Natural History Museum in London. The section on Welsh geology is incredibly (too?) detailed. The cafe had no vegan food. The building is very grand. In summary, an old school museum.

5th August 2025 This was my first visit to the Cardiff Museum, I took my Canadian cousin's family. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The layout was simple and easy to follow, every exhibit was marked with a brief description & history. What I loved most of all was how child friendly Cardiff Museum is. There were a number of stools for children to sit down, view and take notes if they preferred. In some displays there were artifacts like hats, caps, puzzles, etc that the children could use and have fun. A really good place to visit and it's free to enter.

I had an unbelievable experience at the National Museum of Wales. Words don’t do justice—this is simply a place you must visit! The museum beautifully captures Welsh history, culture, and art. From the fascinating natural history displays and archaeological treasures to the world-class collection of Impressionist paintings, every section is filled with stories worth exploring. I especially enjoyed seeing highlights from Wales’ industrial past and the stunning art galleries featuring works by Monet, Renoir, and Van Gogh. Pros: Free entry (a huge plus!) Wide variety of exhibits (art, history, natural sciences) Great for families and all ages. Rich insight into Welsh heritage and culture. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. If you’re in Wales, don’t miss it—it’s more than just a museum, it’s a journey through time.

A nice location for you to visit with art and ceramics, natural history and so on. You will see the oldest elephant 🐘 skeleton and many good knowledge for Roman culture. Better for a weekend break if you see outside is rainy and need clean free toilets. Sometimes, they play good violin 🎻 and great classical music group🎶. Last time, I heard the Harry Potter song there 👌

Brilliant museum for a toddler. My daughter is 3 and loves the dinosaur and animal areas here. We’ve also done several of the activity’s like the scavenger hunts at Easter/Christmas and some crafts. In the holidays they open a room at the far right hand side of museum that has lots of interactive things for kids like gemstones, shells, fossils, magnifying glasses, microscope and some colouring and blocks to play with. The cafe is very overpriced for food and I would say you’d be better bringing a packed lunch or having food in Cardiff somewhere but perfect for a hot drink.

Well clean, tidy, helpful staff, the place is amazing with about 3 floors worth of history, best thing is it's FREE ENTRY, thanks to Government of Wales for providing free entry to all their museums. It's a hidden gem for family, guaranteed fun, children will love it. Must go place. Unique structure of the building, may be listed. Lots of antics.

This is an amazing park right in the centre of Cardiff with lots to see and it's very peaceful for a walk in the evening. There's plenty to do from adult fitness to a visitor centre to checking out the interpretive signs about the trees and wildlife. This was a great find and a must-see for anybody in Cardiff

Beautiful park. Just lush. Huge trees my favourite being the multi stemmed wingnut near the bridge. This Park is owned by "the people of Cardiff" as was left to them, with the castle, by the last lord of Bute. It is a managed park. Friendly gardeners willing to spend time chatting ❤️ We went in spring, the tulips were lovely, so lovey I didn't get many photos!! Separate review made for ace secret cafe, near the plant sales.

Bute Park is an absolute gem in the heart of Cardiff — one of the most beautiful and peaceful urban green spaces I’ve ever visited. The park is massive, yet feels welcoming and easy to explore, whether you’re strolling along the river, admiring the flower gardens, or just enjoying the shade under the ancient trees. There’s a perfect blend of open grassy areas, wooded sections, and well-maintained paths that make it ideal for walking, running, cycling, or just relaxing with a book. The views of Cardiff Castle peeking through the trees add a magical, historic touch. I especially loved how close it is to the city centre — you’re just minutes from shops and cafes, but it feels like a world away. It’s also very clean, safe, and dog-friendly, with plenty of spots to sit and unwind. A must-visit if you’re in Cardiff. Perfect for locals and tourists alike!

I really love this park, it's beautiful, peaceful, and seems to stretch on forever. There's so much space to explore, and recently it got even better when Slayer and other amazing metal bands played at the Blackweir festival site. The mix of nature and live music made for an unforgettable experience. Definitely one of my favorite places to visit! Yeah!!

It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy nature and walking. The riverside paths offer beautiful views, and there’s also a bike road, so you can rent a bike from Pedal Power or another place and enjoy cycling.

A well maintained park, nice seasonal flowers, beautiful, scenic and peaceful. A wonderful place for a stroll or relaxing on the grass. The weather was perfect and the place was not too busy on a weekday.

We attended the stadium for the Oasis concert and it was AMAZING! The stadium is huge and there was a wide selection of drinks on offer and reasonably prices. The system thag implemented made it quick service and the staff were friendly. What an incredible experience, keep an eye out of events here because it was well worth attending.

These photos are from U12 row 33 (the very back row of the upper tier) and there was a great view of the stage for Oasis in July 2025. Events at the stadium are always well-organised. Obviously there are bar and toilet queues at busy times as you'd expect, but they move fast. Weirdly the person serving behind the bar was 17 (turning 18 at midnight) and she was able to make the drinks but not sell the drinks which caused a delay... but happy birthday to her! Exiting the stadium after an event is surprisingly fast.

My 1st visit to the stadium I wish it had been for rugby union match but next time. This time it was for a concert Catfish and the bottle men getting to stadium easy to find. Well signed for all entrances, the staff were brilliant.(I can't remember the staff members who helped me and then my wife re-enter after I lost my phone and amazingly a bloke and his partner found it answered the call and since we left after Travis played and there was thousands of people inside and the tickets were on my phone the staff allowed us back and retrieve it THANK YOU ) the stadium is easy to get around lots of facilities for all the bar only took card no cash but staff were super polite and friendly the stadium is amazing and can't wait to go back to watch the rugby

Great venue and feels intimate when we saw Oasis. Cons no signs in the town centre for different gates. Floor sticky. My coat is drenched from split drinks. Numerous people falling over in the standing area as they were unaware of the slope to enter/exit, maybe have a different coloured tiles to show change the slopped areas.

A fantastic stadium to watch both sport events and music events! Comfortable seats for stadium seats! Sensibly priced seats! Lots of drinks and food on offer to buy, minimal queues when support acts were starting.

I was here for the Lana Del Rey concert. I'm originally from Germany. The stadium is really beautiful. I felt very safe at all times. There were friendly staff everywhere who helped you. It took about 30 minutes to get into the stadium, which I think is a reasonable time. Especially when you consider all the crowds. In the stadium itself, you have the opportunity to buy drinks and food in many different places. The queues there were absolutely reasonable. I never had to wait longer than 5 minutes. There were plenty of toilets and the staff pointed out where there were no queues. Overall, it was a great experience for me. I would definitely come to Cardiff again for a concert. Generally people of Cardiff were very sweet and warm-hearted. A big thank you and compliments to all the security staff and employees, especially at gate 5, M19 🫶🏻

Perhaps this is a tad unfair but I was only allowed into the front of the Centre, or was it the centre of the front? All doors to where the punters sit to watch performances were locked. I asked a member of staff if I could have a look but he refused. I joked that what I'd seen so far was so good it could've been built in England. Lead balloon time. Lighten up little Welsh man, okay, you weren't amused but a deafening silence would've been better than the response you gave. Coming over the border? Don't. We'll sing you away. Keep a welcome in the hillside, keep a welcome in the Vales, I may be back one day.

I got there early with my sister, staff great directed to the relevant place. We were able to get a drink and have a sit down for a bit. Been there for cabaret and the other shows there brilliant highly recommend. Only downside is if you drive everyone tries to get out straight away and they tend to get stuck in the parking part across the street

We’ve come here many times. A wide range of theatrical productions, ballets and musicals are on offer. Tickets are affordable, particularly for young people. Drinks and snacks aren’t too bad either. Good parking facilities nearby. Spectacular setting in the bay. We had a great time seeing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat

Ten theater was absolutely stunning! I mentioned how much of an art work the theater was to a staff member and they were kind enough to give me a brief history on it. The auditorium is massive and I did hear someone mentioned how they were far away but that they felt as if they were close.

We've been to this venue a number of times over the years, but I've been remiss in leaving a review. Having visited the centre to see Warhorse yesterday, itself a stunningly ambitious and superbly crafted and choreographed show, it's just worth mentioning that the Wales Millennium Centre is a fabulous and beautiful building - inside and out - and the auditorium is incredible with fantastic views and audio and lighting. Just a delight to visit.

An amazing theatre. Don't worry about buying cheap tickets up in the gods. The view and the sound are still excellent. Drinks preorder works well even at altitude. Staff and volunteers were all helpful and knowledgeable.

A fun spot for kids, with plenty of hands-on exhibits to keep them entertained. However, the experience felt a bit limited for adults, with many displays lacking depth or variety. It’s worth a visit if you have children, but those seeking a more engaging experience might be left wanting more.

Fantastic science-themed museum. Lots of varied interactive exhibits that kept us (2 adults, 2 15-year olds) entertained for several hours - there were quite a few that we went back to multiple times for another go! Great staff, very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. The chap running and explaining the interactive planetarium was particularly good. A great museum.

Absolutely amazing for kids and adults, my kids could have spend all day. The add on shows are very reasonably priced and well worth it. Added bonus of picnic areas and ever a water bottle refill station. Will definitely be back

What a lovely place for all ages and abilities. Fantastic location with a variety of food places to visit before or after. The little ones of family really enjoyed themselves and looking forward to re-attending. The core of technique at is its incredible collection of interactive exhibits. A giant piano you play with your feet, water play, launch rockets… every corner is a new discovery. It is a huge hit with my kids and family but it’s not just for kids, did notice a lot of adults engrossed, including myself. Excellent value and highly recommend for a fun family day out.

We visited with our two boys (aged 4 and 9) and had a brilliant day. The centre is in great condition – calm, welcoming, and with big open spaces. Almost every exhibit was hands-on and super interactive, which kept both kids completely engaged. We also did the planetarium (the presenter was full of energy and incredibly knowledgeable), the science show, and a lab session for our eldest – all of which were excellent. The staff were fabulous: friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about what they do. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and would definitely recommend a visit.

My 3 year old had the best time and hasn’t stopped talking about it! Very nice experience. The baby changing room was also really clean so thats always good to see.

You can find a variety of stalls there: foods, books, bags, souvenirs, fish… I tried Welsh cakes from a stall run by very sweet ladies. They were delicious! Also, I realized I forgot to bring my lock, and I found one there and bought it. Imagine how diverse the market is. 😅

Thank Goodness for the Cardiff Markets and the welsh cakes stand The vest weksh cakes ever! We tried 5 between 3 of us and went back for a 10 pack to take home which lasted for 3 days morning or aft. Tea. YUM!9

Love the great food options here and the decent attempt at gentrifying a very cool old building & market. It sadly is still rather filthy and is still a little short of the mark compared to some other (foodie) markets around Europe. That being said, I’d come back thanks to the delicious food (kudos to the Neapolitan pizza, Greek gyros and Welshcakes). If they cleaned this place up a bit it’d be 5-star level.

An absolute gem in the heart of the city! Cardiff Market is the perfect blend of historic charm and modern energy. The Victorian architecture gives it so much character, and the atmosphere is always buzzing without feeling overwhelming. There’s a fantastic mix of food stalls offering everything from Welsh cakes and fresh seafood to bao buns, pierogi, and loaded gnocchi — something for every craving. I had one of the best casual meals of my trip here. Beyond food, there are also stalls selling local produce, flowers, books, and quirky vintage finds. It’s spacious, welcoming, and full of personality. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Cardiff Market is a must-see spot that captures the spirit of the city.

What a pleasure to behold, all the market stalls: fruit and vegetable stands, fish markets, sweets, nuts, restaurants... In short, a town shouldn't exist without a central market.

Brilliant market, with fresh fruit and veg. Food stalls downstairs and upstairs, seating is limited though. The cake stalls are amazing especially the Welsh cakes, it's a must visit when I'm in the capitol. One of the better markets to visit in Wales 👍

A long nice walk alongside the barrage, you can experince the lifting of bridge and even you can watch large ships nearby

Great walk across the bay. Unfortunately, it's not pleasant to walk at night or early morning, and people walking inconsiderately can make it feel more congested than it is. There's an ice cream stop, coffee shops and Tiger yard on the Cardiff end, and occasionally water vendors on hot days. There's also an Olympic public workout spot half-way around.

Absolutely fantastic, the structure created for the sea ferry and crossing takes your breath away. We walked around the Bay following the Bay walkway and saw some amazing views over the bay. The wildlife is phenomenal

Great simple enjoyable trip out. Two mile walk along traffic free road to or from Penarth. Witnessed the locks and bridges open, was fun. Really lovely walk on a pleasant sunny day. Bike hire available too if your not fancying the walk. An unexpected delight.

My first trip to see the Cardiff Bay barrage and I was impressed. There is a spacious car park next to the lock which is inexpensive/ You can watch boats going in and out of the lock either going to or from their safe moorings behind the barrage. One or two of the buildings look like they need an overall but the modern buildings are in keeping with the area and have done a lot to rejuvenate the area. There are special car parks for boat owners to park their vehicles when visiting their craft. There are also coffee shops and restaurants to visit too.

Great start for a walk across the barrage. Plenty of parking, though be careful as many of the car parks are operated by a notorious local parking company. Locks are interesting to watch when in use and are quite busy. An "optical illusion" is painted in yellow on the locks visible from the yellow X at the barrier to lock 3.

We went on a bay trip to Flat Holm . The trip was very well organised . Well, worth a visit and the island is seeped in history. You can go on a free guided tour for an and the guide was very informative 👌. Alovely day.

We loved visiting this cathedral! It had a chapel dedicated to the Royal Regiment of Wales/ Welsh regiment formed in 1969 and this is the regiment my husband served in. It costs £1500 per day to keep the cathedral running so they do ask for donations and we certainly contributed. It is a beautiful cathedral and worth visiting. Sadly people have vandalized many of the marble effigies. The stained glass windows are beautiful. The organ immense. The cathedral has several small chapels in it including the RRW chapel and the Mary Chapel. Visit and support this wonderful cathedral and piece of Welsh history! A short walk from the cathedral are wonderful hiking trails.

It’s free entry! Entrance is a beautiful steep stairs down with beautiful panoramic scenes of the cathedral as you walk down. Amazing free entry steep in history, beautiful interior with stain glasses, a modern middle circular art piece , the choir area and the number of smaller chapels at the back with the sarcophagus displayed and a adjacent chapel to the fallen. Ideally would like to return for a tour of the cathedral if it is offered. I note that there are book about the cathedral at the back of the pews.

Such a beautiful cathedral and lovely staff. It was free to enter, and we took plenty of pictures inside. We utilized the bus to get here and back to Cardiff Castle area and it was easy enough to understand with the help of Google Maps. There was also a cute little gift shop inside if you were inclined.

Lovely cathedral.. entrance is usually free but we went for the Opera in candlelight event ✨ the performances were incredible and atmosphere very grounding.. unfortunately the photos were a bit misleading we thought there’d be more candles etc but nonetheless a lovely event in a lovely venue

It's set in a leafy edge of Cardiff, hidden in a dip to hide it from threats from the sea. It was the second worst damaged cathedral after Coventry, during the war with a parachute mine landing in the cemetery next to the nave and causing damage to the nave and other parts but was restored to its current form. Inside is peaceful with memorials and a chapel dedicated to the armed services. Lovely stained glass and the famous Majestas that stands in the middle of the nave. Little shop with bits and pieces and guide books. Also helpful volunteers on hand to share the history of the cathedral with

Restoration and alteration of Llandaff Cathedral, 1949-1963 by George Pace. Llandaff cathedral is an important medieval and later building. My visit was specifically to look at the work by George Pace in the rebuilding and re-roofing following extensive war damage. Pace had little previous work when he was awarded this major project to succeed Sir Charles Nicholson as the cathedral architect. Most architects, when they get the first major job of their career, would tend to be careful, but Pace produced some of his most radical architecture and intervention. Pace set four principles for his repair and restoration at Llandaff, which are explained in full in Peter Pace's book, in summary; A - Ancient work and Pritchard's 19th century restoration, where it had survived to be carefully conserved. B - New work to make good destroyed parts to be clearly and legibly 20th century, but also to integrate with the cathedral in appearance and character C - everything to be under the aesthetic control of the architect, D - every part of the cathedral, every intervention, to be a work of art in itself, entire cathedral to be a complete offering to God. These principles would not be surprising now but quite forward looking for 1949. Pace did not agree with previous assessment of the building as being an overgrown parish church. He found that the qualities, particularly in the nave arcade, to be of high quality and worth celebrating. He also highly rated the Pritchard work, including the west tower, which he considered to be a major monument of the Gothic Revival. Pace's contribution started with the nave roof, which was different to Prichard's open timber roof and but similar to the roof that Nicholson had proposed. Pace's response was based On Nicholson's drawings. The intervention that everybody knows at Llandaff is the pulpitum. The pulpitum is often roundly criticized when it is posted on sites like this. I can see that it is surprisingly shocking for the 1950s. There is nothing so audacious at Coventry, for instance. I would not like this to happen in all churches but in this one it is wonderful. In the past, the pulpitum would have been a stone screen at the junction between the choir and the nave. The medieval Llandaff Cathedral had a pulpitum. But this was not rebuilt during Pritchard's restoration. Pace felt that the lack of architectural definition between nave and chancel was the factor that made Llandaff lack the atmosphere of a cathedral. Pace's idea was to produce a new form of pulpitum, a 20th century structure, which is an object rather than a screen. He pointed out that it is traditional to be modern. Each phase of a gothic cathedral built in the style of its time. He took particular inspiration from an 18th century print of Gloucester Cathedral, which had a stone pulpitum. Pace's early schemes for this are quite like a Comper ciborium with what he called a "proper sized" organ on top. The design took four years to develop, including full size plywood mock ups. I think the design is an extraordinary synthesis of a screen which locates the altar, but also keeps the full east views through the Romanesque arch to the Lady chapel beyond. Set onto the pulpitum is the magistas - similar to a traditional rood figure but with Christ, not defeated, but reigning. Pace suggested that Jacob Epstein was the only sculptor, who could realise his vision. Epstein responded, to Pace's inquiry to say that it was the was the greatest thing he had been asked to do, and he was sure that it would result in a in a great act of faith. As with Pace, Epstein was particularly impressed with the 13th century arcade and design of the nave.

I attended a remarkable David Bowie tribute concert at Llandaff Cathedral. While I am not typically a fan of tribute acts, this performance was truly exceptional.

My girl and I had a tremendous birthday lunch comprising the Short Taster 7/8 course menu - we couldn't do the wine pairing as we were driving (cue violins). Each course was a delight - small plates as per a taster menu, each was packed full of flavour, impeccably cooked and an exciting experience. It's difficult to pick favourites so I won't - it was all fantastic. I thought the lamb dish needed more beetroot. The service was faultless, as is the decor. I'd prefer jazz on the playlist, but that's just a personal preference. Worth every penny.

We enjoyed an amazing 10-course tasting menu at this restaurant last Saturday afternoon. I can’t believe we had not been to this restaurant before this. Impeccable service and exquisite food! I was a marmite hater but the marmite butter was excellent. I highly recommend this place.

We had a really excellent meal at Heaney's ahead of the rugby. We had the shorter tasting menu and each element was absolutely delicious. One of the best meals we've had in a while, and that's from two London foodies.

This was an amazing find and I highly recommend to others! The food, service and atmosphere were all worthy of 1 Michelin star. Very surprised they hadn’t already got one, but hopefully it’s their time soon. The tasting menu and wine pairing was carefully considered, and well matched. Always wanted to go to Heaneys, and the £35 5 course set lunch menu deal gave us the opportunity (deal was even available on a Saturday). Fair to say it did not disappoint. Absolutely sublime from start to finish and an incredible culinary masterclass. Potato terrine and ox cheek were particular highlights but all of it was 10/10. If you get the chance to go, don’t think twice - it takes the dining experience to another level

Came here for our 1st wedding anniversary. Excellent restaurant with Michelin star quality food and service. We had the long tasting menu and each course was delicious. My wife is lactose intolerant and they accommodated to her needs with no issues. It is pricey but that is to be expected for the quality of food. Courses were weighted towards fish so non fish lovers would struggle with the tasting menu. But having said that I'm not a huge fan of fish but I enjoyed every course. Would definitely return again for a special occasion. I would expect this restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star in the near future.

Very cute though bigger than it looks from outside.. didn't get chance to have a proper look around as there was a pilates and pups class on (or maybe something slightly less random) and didn't get chance to stop.in the cafe.. next time! Gallery wasn't what I expected,it was interesting and I'd have thought museum was a better description.. recommended by my daughter who loves the place

An arts centre and cafe in an original church with a fascinating history. The cafe has a good offer for a variety of diets. The exhibition space is upstairs but there is a lift. Well worth a visit

We have been served by a young lady. Super friendly, smiley, kind and hard working. Place is clean including toilets. Food and drink-wise not so special., even a bit pricey. Recommended.

Hidden independent gem in the bay with delicious food and friendly staff. The Yorkshire Wrap was gorgeous, a roast dinner in a cloud of Yorkshire pudding. Very pretty historic building with and they also have open mike nights which are fun. Can just stop for a cup of tea and soak in the atmosphere of the bay. Definitely worth a visit.

I have visited this cafe for years and loved it, but on Saturday I visited with a group of women friends who are all involved in human rights campaigning. Some of us were wearing teeshirts with words like "Womens' Rights" on them. To our stunned amazement the manager suddenly announced, loudly in front of everyone, that our teeshirts were "offensive" and he wanted us to leave! He made no attempt to explain why teeshirts expressing support for women's rights was offensive. The group of included women with professional jobs and reputations, all of whom have decades of service in human rights campaigning, feminism, anti-racism, the trade union movement, and lesbian advocacy. The manager made no attempt to learn anything about us; if he had he would have quickly discovered that none of us hold prejudiced, objectionable, or harmful views. He decided for some bizarre reason that our presence was harmful to his staff and other customers purely because he disagreed with women's rights! It was a very upsetting experience. He also only appeared to become offended by our lawful views AFTER we paid for our coffees and cakes. It is quite extraordinary that women can be thrown out of a coffee shop in modern Wales for believing that we have rights.

Every time I’ve been to the Norwegian Church it has always been absolutely incredible. Everyone who works there has been absolutely lovely and I cannot complain about the quality of service. I understand there was a bit of a situation on Saturday where some people with quite bigoted views were making customers and staff very uncomfortable, despite this they were given grace and just asked to cover up their offensive clothing (which a business is well within its rights to do when it is causing disturbance to other patrons) and the response was for these customers to start verbally abusing and screaming at the employee who requested this and then start spreading lies and a hate campaign on social media platforms. Needless to say, the Norwegian Church should not have to suffer because a bunch of rude customers were unable to cope with not getting their own way, so if you are looking for a fabulous view of Cardiff Bay, lush food and drink, a great atmosphere, good vibes, beautiful scenery, and a complete lack of TERFs then boy oh boy is this the place to be.

We were a little confused to see a Norwegian church in Wales, but it was a fun stop while in Cardiff Bay. There was a cafe inside and on the 2nd floor was a small shop with handmade goods.

Very cute shop for a nice coffee or study date. I ordered a cinnamon roll and some green tea. They accidentally brought me the wrong one they gave me the one with apple, and they soon realized that it’s wrong so they kindly replace it and even asked if I wanted them both. The shop has a bathroom and it’s very clean and accessible to disabled people. It offers a wide range of pastries. Sadly I think that the cinnamon roll was a bit too sweet for me especially with the glaze on top, so I removed it and it was better.

I visited this bakery and found the place spacious and comfortable, with a cozy atmosphere. Their baked goods are delicious and fresh, and I really enjoyed the variety they offer. However, I wish they had a service to warm up the pastries — it would be wonderful to enjoy hot, freshly warmed pastries, especially on cold winter days.

Such a clean and cozy place. I discovered this hidden gem while I was on my way to visit my GP. I like the bakes. Also, their coffee has a great taste.

Such a nice bakery with a huge range of delicious baked goods! I personally loved the cheese and tomato Snegl and had breakfast there both mornings of my weekend in Cardiff.

Lovely bakery, food was amazing so was the coffee. Staff was nice and the atmosphere was very vibrant. You could tell by how busy it was that the foods good! Would definitely recommend a visit but be prepared to spend a bit!

Coffee was average and overpriced. £3.95 for a flat white and £3.5 for a long black. I would expect very good quality for those prices and it didn't deliver. They also charge 60p for oat milk.

This is an elite bakery! In all my travels I love heading to a bakery to get myself a sweet or savoury treat, and this sits top of the pile. At this place I got both sweet and savoury due to the excellent selection on offer. I had a cinnamon swirl that was beautifully soft with delicious flavour of cinnamon and white icing. For the savoury treat I had a cheese and pepperoni swirl, that again was beautifully soft and packed with unbelievably good cheesy flavour. If you’re in Cardiff it’s well worth heading up to this part of town to grab something!

A fantastic place to spend all day. You can just walk around, do some rope activities or just be stunned at the beauty. For both indoorsy and outdoorsy people. There are 2 stunning art galleries and suitable for children too. I absolutely loved it and it is free. No tickets and no need to buy a map. The signs are everywhere and you can not be lost. There are some pubs locally but they were so full for lunches we had to wait for an hour! Not worth the price so bring your lunch and drinks unless you want to definitely try fish and chips in-house or go to the restaurant located at the start of your journey but that has a very poor review. Overall an amazing day out. On a windy day wear layers & definitely warm yourself up by walking around.

Amazing outdoor museum. Very friendly staff are knowledgeable, and the grounds/facilities are well taken care of by the landscapers and handy men that provide the upkeep. 4 folks that stand out are the information desk ladies for their wholesome welcome, the gentleman posted at the house rows and gardens with his personal experience, the gentleman tending the mechanical objects in the manor and of course, the man expertly pruning the gorgeous roses. The later takes skill and focus to care for all those varieties to provide the beautiful sensory experience in the archway near the ponds. Well done all for this marvelous experience. Shame there isn’t a 10 star option. PS, if that doesn’t sell it… it was completely free

Really nice afternoon out. It's free so I won't be too harsh but it would benefit from some more information dotted about. Lots of stuff was shut which is understandable in the middle of the week etc but wish it was clearer before walking around. Most of the buildings were shut or empty. But the ones with the volunteers were great. Loved the fire going in the farmhouse it makes it feel real. Should be more info on the process of how i the buildings were moved as that's fascinating in itself!

We had a lovely day here. Definitely worth a visit. We were a group of 12 with 2 dogs, and our ages ranged from 12 to 81 and they all enjoyed the walks from house to house. It was also lovely to listen to the members of staff with all their knowledge. I knocked a star off the experience due to not being able to take the dogs in for cooked food in the main restaurant. A member of staff told us that we could eat in the cafe the other end of the estate. Once we got there, it was only pre packed sandwiches and cakes. We wanted cooked food. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable day

Parking here is £7 for the whole day or free for blue badge holders. I've been here a few times but think it's amazing how old buildings have been taken down n rebuilt exactly as the stood before the vulcan pub is finished and sells alcohol bur it looks amazing and the shops are a blast from the past the place is massive but so peaceful also seeing how our ancestors lived compared to today is mind blowing would recommend visiting if never been before .

Wonderful Museum! each building is interesting and immerses you into the past. it’s free and perfect for a day out for all ages. Bring a pack lunch! the only expense was £7 for all day parking and some gift shop goodies.

We had a great experience at the Museum. Lovely main building with ample parking and facilities. It has a big food court too. The main attraction was the Welsh houses in the complex. They depict the ancient Welsh life effectively. Must have taken a lot of effort to relocate and rebuild these iconic buildings.

First time attending, I was extremely nervous as I had no idea where I was or where to go, the staff were amazing, lady at the door told me and my sister where to go and where everything was, very polite and professional, she gave us a book with a list of all the shows, I was pleasantly surprised of the acts they have there The reception area was quite small ish, then theres was a small bar to get refreshments etc, and some stools and a long thin table against a wall. The show was amazing! My sister immediately brought more tickets to come back as we had much a great time.

New Theatre is an old theatre, and it shows in the small seating with limited leg room. However the acoustics are great (way better than the Ultilia Arena). Shows are diverse and mostly affordable. Staff are excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. No parking on site, so you'll need to walk in.

Went to The Magic of The Beatles show on Thursday night, the team was excellent and friendly. Show was amazing. Good venue for theatre shows

First time at this venue. Now that St. David's is closed this is now the main place. Just saw Stewart Lee and this venue was perfect as it is a nice size for comedy. Will definitely be back. For anyone coming by train it is a 15 to 20 minute walk from Cardiff Central.

I visited Cardiff’s New Theatre on Greyfriars Road to see a show recently. The performance itself was good, and the atmosphere was decent overall. Seating was comfortable enough — better than some other venues, though not perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful during ticketing, and the theatre layout made it easy to find my way around. The building feels a bit dated, but that’s part of its charm, and everything seemed generally clean. The men’s toilets could really use some attention, though — not a great experience there. The crowd was mostly fine, just a few overly lively people, but nothing out of the ordinary for a busy show night. I’d definitely return for another performance and would recommend it to others looking for a classic theatre experience in Cardiff.

Beautiful building just off the main shopping area of Cardiff. Clean and tidy inside and out, set on three floors, all I think with a bar and toilets. Comfy seats, normal legroom and we had a great view of the stage. Friendly and helpful staff, thank you.

Disappointed in myself for failing to spot or appreciate the wonderful Kings Road Yard in Pontcanna where @pipes brewery is also located. Great vibe, full of locals of all ages, with the love of community and locally brewed beer. On a Saturday afternoon, after an excellent lunch at Tom Simmons, to sit in the late summer sunshine with a pint of Pipes American IPA takes some beating. Simply glorious.

Loved this little gem! The beer was great, their Lupulin pale was the highlight of our whole trip (including the fact that we went to Bristol craft beer festival afterwards!). The lady serving was very friendly and it's a great venue with other little independent businesses in the alley way. Nice chill place to spend the afternoon

This is a great little spot. We visited on a winter’s afternoon. Unfortunately there was only one fire brazier out as it was pretty cold but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the beer and hot mulled cider from this micro brewery. Great atmosphere down the whole alleyway. Food stalls here are also tops.

Brilliant beer! There's always a great selection in bottle to take out. Be sure to check out what's on tap every Friday 4pm - 9pm and the first Saturday of the month they are open all day. Great atmosphere! Well worth venturing off the beaten track for a visit if you're in town.

An absolute gem of a micro brewery, a great tasting range with occassional experimental brews. All served by a great team in a great location.

Very beautiful little park, with a small pond in the centre, which had a few ducks and a large field at the rear of the park. Coffee shop on site (which is a bit pricey). Does have an accessible route throughout the park, so it is suitable for prams and wheelchairs etc. There doesn't seem to be any parking nearby, only residential streets, which can be very tricky to find a parking spot in.

A city park that didn't feel too urbanised. We only did the top loop, rather than the lower section with the ponds. It wasn't too busy, so was lovely and quiet.

A pleasant park, one of the more medium-sized of the parks in Cardiff. It’s hidden behind houses on Pencisely Road and have been past lots of times, without realising there was a park here. It’s worth a visit though. Thompson’s Park is in two parts, there’s the bigger field with lots of trees around it on the Pencisely Road side and the lower bit of the park, down the hill. The lower bit of the park has the duck pond and flower beds. There’s also Lufkin Coffee. In terms of accessibility, there’s a path all the way round the park. To get from the upper field to the lower section of the park, there’s either stairs (which look a bit steep) or a path you can take round. The path winds around the hill to traverse it, but you definitely still know that you’re walking up a hill.

Lovely place to spend some time, love this place.

Lovely park with duckpond takeaway drinks and a variety of areas in which to walk. In springtime it is a mass of daffodils and crocuses. Love spending time here.

If you've not been to this outstanding Cardiff Park in Canton yet, then you're missing out on one of Cardiffs Best Hidden Gems - for it is beauty in itself. For Thompsons Park will astound you. The landscape dips & dives, the very well maintained flowerbeds & ponds are awash with floral splendour, where wildlife abounds. There's even a wee coffee shop at the entrance on the Romilly Road side. The architecture & natural flow of the metalwork stopped me in my tracks and made me pause for thought & the views from the top, well, I'll let you decide 👌💚😮😁🦆🦢🦉🐾🦡🦇🐿️🐸🐞🦗🐛🐝🐜🦋🕷️🦟💮🌸💐🏵️🌹🥀🌺🌻🌼🌷🌱
