Talho Capixaba in Leblon, Rio de Janeiro, is a charming bakery and deli with a rich Portuguese heritage. Originally a butcher shop, it has transformed into a celebrated delicatessen. The venue offers a cozy setting for breakfast or brunch, featuring artisanal breads, homemade pastries, and an array of imported French products such as pate and sweet jams. Guests can also indulge in a variety of cheeses and mouthwatering cakes made with natural ingredients.
Usually pretty busy. Have to keep an eye out for a table. Only outdoor seating is available. Great melted cheese and ham sandwich on a croissant and fresh orange juice.
Julia S — Google review
The food was great, the bread and pastries are amazingly baked. The fruit salad was not that good, most of the fruits were not ripe enough. The coffee was delicious. The ambience was super busy and there was loud live music as well so don’t expect being able to hold a conversation while sitting outside.
Dániel P — Google review
After a coffee craving, we fell upon this lovely place. More than just coffee they have great desserts and pastry. We tried the pastel de nata and a chicken and cheese pastry. All three delicious accompaniments to our double espressos.
S S — Google review
A beautiful bakery-cafe and a delicacy store where you can find great Brazilian delicacies. You can have a nice brunch here on the vibrant and tree lined Av Ataulfo de Paiva in the heart of the upscale area of Rio, Leblon. The food is tasty and well presented . Sit at a table outside on the pavement to get one with the energy of the heart of Leblon. But don't forget to go inside and spend some time to see the delicacies and maybe buy something to bring back home.
Marios T — Google review
We had a delecious breakfast here yesterday. Both Alex and Lawanda are top-notch servers. They are pleasant and were quick to bring our food. We really like the vibe here as it is great for people watching. This is the 3rd summer (it is winter for Rio) in a row that we have stayed in Leblon, and we always always dine here, shop for fresh meats, cheeses, and other last-minute groceries. Thank you, Talho Capixaba!
Nora B — Google review
Average regular bakery with a good variety of bread, but subpar quality overall. It’s outside seating is a mess and poorly managed. If you’re looking for “café da manhã” experience just go next door for a good old style padaria.
Mario L — Google review
Trendy bakery with a good selection of savory and sweet plates, charcuterie and more.

Talho is my favorite breakfast , late lunch, or even dinner spot. From all baked goods, to Brazilian specialties, soups and sandwiches !! Ah ! Ah… and delicious pastries . My favorite spot ! Went also on the Ipanema and Tamirez was just great !! Always helpful, and attentive! Thank you TAMIREZ!!!

Pastry shop
Restaurant
Confeitaria Colombo is a historic café-restaurant located in downtown Rio, offering a glimpse into the city's 'golden age.' The elegant setting features ornate chandeliers and jacaranda wood mirrors, creating an opulent atmosphere for breakfasts, brunches, and afternoon teas. This century-old establishment was once the center of social gatherings and political intrigue during Rio's belle epoque era.
Enjoyed a nice break on a rainy day. Waited 20 minutes to get in. Shared a ham and cheese sandwich so that we could order dessert!! Too full to finish desserts. Beautiful place!
Randy E — Google review
Given the location, it is undoubtedly amazing but the service was disappointing. I understand that maybe because it was a Sunday afternoon, probably a long day however you can tell the unwillingness to work —The food, small portion and nothing special. If you are looking for a place to post on social media, this is perfect for you but if you want a real food/cafe there are bunch of them around way better than this tourist trap
Paolo B — Google review
Very beautiful place, it reeks history, but very full and loud, it doesn't let you enjoy the meal! I recommend you to order only the pastry if not you will wait a lot! The food is 7/10 and desserts 10/10 (the flan is really creamy and delicious)
Juan G — Google review
We chose the restaurant thanks to recommendations, but it was an extremely bad experience for us. Terrible attitude of the staff, catastrophic conditions of seating comfort, broken chairs, a lot of noise, a mess on the floor. Despite repeated requests to clean the table, we had to clean it ourselves. We spent almost an hour of our vacation here waiting for a table. Despite the name order of the guests, the staff let other guests who had passed us in, the staff told us curtly that they had a reservation. We did not see any information about reservations on the tables. They all passed us in several times, despite the fact that we had a reservation card. Very worried, we got up and left, preferring not to ruin our vacation. We do not recommend a visit, it has nothing to do with a gastronomic, relaxing and relaxing experience. Disappointing waste of time.
Peter B — Google review
Overhyped. Looking deeper into what it offers beyond the appearances, it’s nothing worth visiting again in my opinion. Yes, waiters wearing a tie, and the long queue might make you think it will be a special experience for the prices you’ll be charged. Unfortunately not, food is just average, waiters don’t speak much else other than Portuguese, with no awareness of when to serve what’s being ordered. They will deliver the food as soon as it’s ready. So we got the coffee and eclair served before the main dishes. I don’t who eats in this way but that’s what happens if you order everything at the same time in this place. The worst part is that the food is not even freshly prepared. For example, the beirut pita sandwich with fillet mignon, eggs and salad is reheated. The result is a bland and soggy sandwich…disappointing. The eclair was not fresh either. The only things we found to be good were the carpaccio and the coffee. Before paying they’ll parade a basket full of sweets and chocolate in the hope they’ll get you to buy more stuff And when you’re finally about to step out, you’ll be asked for 60r$ for a printed photograph..yeah, that trick they pull off at the beginning once you got past the queue. I don’t know what makes them think this is what makes clients enjoy their time in this place.
Alexandru I — Google review
Highly overrated, but worth it if you intend to go for the atmosphere. The food was not good. Looking around, my guess is that it’s best to just get a coffee and shake or a dessert.
Jeremy M — Google review
A Glorious Stop in Rio Visiting Confeitaria Colombo was an absolute highlight of our trip to Rio. The architecture is stunning—stepping inside feels like entering a glamorous time capsule. We treated ourselves to coffee, pastries, and some very necessary photo ops under the grand mirrors and stained glass ceiling. Everything was delicious, and the service was kind and attentive. Whether you’re into history, sweets, or just soaking up beauty, this spot is 100% worth it.

Brazilian restaurant
Aprazível is a charming restaurant nestled high on the Santa Teresa hillside in Rio, offering breathtaking views of downtown Rio and the Guanabara Bay. The rustic terrace is adorned with grass-roofed gazebos surrounded by lush tropical gardens, creating a serene ambiance frequented by toucans and monkeys. Guests can savor artisan Brazilian cuisine made with natural tropical ingredients while enjoying the romantic al-fresco dining experience illuminated by candles and fairy lights at night.
This place was very good. Up in the hills in Rio, with an amazing view/sunset. The vibe is amazing 10/10 and the food is very good 9/10. The tropical fish and the lamb shoulder were very good. We spent a little over 600 BR total for the four dishes.
Dan L — Google review
A friend booked this place for lunch. It was our first time eating Brazilian food, so we didn’t know what to expect. We were extremely satisfied with the food, service and quality. Being surrounded in luscious greenery made the whole experience even more pleasant. Highly recommend locals and especially foreigners giving this place a go.
Dyena M — Google review
If you ever wanted to dine in the clouds of Rio and feel like a travel-executive doing it in style, Aprazível is your spot. High above the city in the bohemian hillside of Santa Tereza, the restaurant opens has great views of rooftops, bay, and that unmistakable Carioca skyline. From the moment you arrive, you get the kind of hospitality that knows how to relax while it impresses. The staff were warm, attentive, and clearly proud of the space, an open-air treehouse-style retreat where you’re dining among the jungle canopy and city lights. It’s elevated casual: timber and stone, ambient lighting, gentle breeze through leaves, and that amazing skyline. The menu showcases Brazilian creativity and flair. Their house-famous açaí guacamole was fresh, unexpected, and rich without being heavy. It’s not your Oaxacan guacamole and that’s okay. The vibe carried on with the main offerings, each one rooted in local flavor but styled for the modern table. Pair that with a caipiroska de maracujá, and you have drink-game and relaxation on point.
Jason H — Google review
Beautiful restaurant with good food in Santa Theresa neighborhood. We walked in and were wowed by how big this place is. The ambience is on point. We were promptly seated and ordered the main course seafood catch of the day and another prawn dish with coconut rice. Both the dishes were fresh and tasted great. We ordered their chocolate dessert and that was amazing! Service was great. Food was good. Ambience was perfect. It is an expensive reataurant. One of the most expensive meals I had during my trip in Rio and I dint feel it was that worth the price hence reduced a star. Overall give it a try!
Jane M — Google review
A must-go if you are in Rio. It’s really not to far from the main beaches, you can easily uber there. Food was delish but you really go there for the view and atmosphere which is just beautiful. They sat us without reservation (which I would not recommend as it’s usually fully booked)
Re C — Google review
This is a magnificent multi-level restaurant in the picturesque Santa Teresa district of Rio. The menu has a great selection of items inspired from different parts of Brazil such as Minas Gerais and Amazonas. There are plenty of vegetarian options. The restaurant also has a nice variety of caipirinhas and other cocktails as well as fresh juices. I had the guacamole acai and burrata and the guava cheesecake. All the items were delicious. The service staff was courteous, efficient and my server spoke some English- the menu was both in Portuguese and English. The ambiance was casual comfortable and cozy. The restrooms were well maintained. There is an elevator available to those with impaired mobility. I highly recommend this restaurant for its exquisite food and drinks and for the spectacular views of Rio from it’s location.

Restaurant
Explorer Bar is a hotel bar located in the picturesque Santa Teresa neighborhood, offering a leafy terrace with views of the steep cobbled streets. The menu features international cuisine and cocktails, including imported gins, tequilas, and sugar cane rum for caipirinhas. The food options are colorful and inventive, ranging from traditional Brazilian pasteis to Middle Eastern mezze.
The food here was sooo good. So much better than I anticipated as I really only went for the drinks and ambience (which were also great). I’m a bit of a food snob too but the food was fresh and packed with flavour. I will be going back for sure!
Health W — Google review
Cool place to check out on your trip to Santa Teresa. This place has amazing cocktails, including many well known drinks. It's also expensive for the area, costing about $10 USD per drink. Still better than the US, but more than other places in Rio. The food has potential. It's good, the only problem is that 4/4 items we ordered over 3 different visits were all cool or cold. The nachos could be so good but they are just not the same when the cheese has solidified and the chips are cold. Same with the burger, which looks like their cheddar is a slice of square American cheese. The pastels were pretty good though. And the hummus.
Rhett J — Google review
Explorer Bar Santa Teresa offers an exceptional nightlife experience in the heart of Santa Teresa. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming atmosphere and unique décor set the perfect mood. The cocktails are truly standout, especially the TLB and Passion Sour, which are expertly crafted and bursting with flavour. Definitely worth trying. The meal options are just as impressive; the ancho steak and chicken pad Thai both deserve a solid 10/10 for taste and presentation. The environment is cozy yet vibrant, an ideal spot to enjoy with friends or a date, securing an overall 10/10 rating for ambiance. What truly elevates the experience is Cristian, whose incredible service and hosting skills make every guest feel special and well taken care of. His warm hospitality adds a personal touch that keeps visitors coming back. If you’re looking for a top-tier cocktail bar with extraordinary drinks, delicious food, and outstanding service in Santa Teresa, Explorer Bar is the place to be.
Antonello T — Google review
Impeccable service and very lovely environment! Main dishes could be improved but the appetisers are perfect (we tried croquettes and fish salad). The only thing that disappointed us is the homemade soda 😂 not very recommended. But given the price, it’s still overall well worthy.
Eva K — Google review
Visited this place twice on our five night stay in Rio. If you’re looking for cocktails then you need to visit here, they are so tasty! My favourite one is the Jambu Treme (highly recommend!!!). The staff are lovely, welcoming, friendly, and helpful - thank you Marco! The food is delicious too, definitely worth the visit.
Lucy T — Google review
We were really excited and looking forward to trying out this spot and enjoying it. It has a great atmosphere and great music but unfortunately the food took about 40mons minutes and that ruined our experience. I hope they do better going forward because the place has a lot of potential. Unfortunately I doubt we will be going back.

Lívia was an amazing waitress! Ela foi muito acolhedora e amigável. I would definitely come back. Also, Christian was super nice the other night and offered to move tables around for our group and was very personable. Great staff! 🙏

Clássico Beach Club in Urca is a must-visit spot for friends looking to enjoy the beautiful Brazilian beach scene. With its vibrant yet laid-back atmosphere, fantastic music, and top-notch cocktails, it's an ideal place to spend an afternoon. Additionally, Clássico Sunset Club Urca offers a great dining experience between the two cable car rides with sensational views of Rio de Janeiro's coasts.
Everything was great at this restaurant. Food, service and the sunset view from here guarantee one of the best dining experiences in Rio!

Great view over the city and amazing service. The food is pretty standard however the burger could have been more juicy. The starters are however great and the service really makes the dining experience.
Julia A — Google review
The view from this place is simply incredible and worth the visit on its own. Food were good, service was decent though a bit slow at times. Still, I would definitely recommend it.
Va Z — Google review
The ride up in the gondola was pricey for all 5 of us, but we are only in Rio once and a must-do and see activity. We could have eaten at a nice restaurant for a cheaper price at the mid-way point before you get to Sugarloaf mountain, but I decided to come here for the views. You will pay a premium of course, but if you are American, the prices are still pretty good compared to a fine dinning restaurant back home. It's not as high up as Crist the Redeemer, but on the coast and close to the city for a different kind of view. I had a traditional Brazilian cocktail that I didn’t like, but the filet mignon was excellent. I went all out because…we are at the very top with the best view in Rio!

Beautiful views. Our server Gabrielle was awesome and super sweet. While our Avocado toast left something to be desired, the patatas were very tasty. The Pineapple Caprihina was excellent as well. Certainly give this place a try if you’re on the mountain.

It was a great surprise to find this restaurant at the top of the Sugar Loaf. Cozy, great service, amazing staff, great food menu and drinks, and the views of Copacabana from here are just unbelievable. Nested between this tropical forest, preserved alongside the granite mountain, they offer a great opportunity to dine and drink in style. And watch the little monkeys jumping up on the tree canopy. Well recommended.

Located in the Bossa Nova Mall, Xian is considered one of the most romantic restaurants in Rio de Janeiro. It has a rooftop with views of the Pao de Acucar, Christ the Redeemer and Guanabara Bay. The restaurant is beautifully luxurious and stunning, looking like it's out of a movie set. As soon as I walked in, I thought to myself: This looks like an NYC restaurant.
Beautiful views! This location is located in the shopping plaza. The rooftop was a challenge to find, but an employee on the lower level was quick to assist me with locating. The service was great. The rooftop overlooks the marina. The food was filled with flavor and well portioned. The oxtail dumplings are a must try!

First, our Waiter, Fabio, was superb ( and that level of attention simply does not exist here in Rio)! Second, the drinks and deserts were really creative and flawlessly executed. Delicious!!! Third, we tried 8 dishes and of those 1 was great (black salmon)….the others were just ok. Finally, the view is spectacular; great place to find a relaxing atmosphere with over the top views of Rio.

Went for my birthday lunch. On the terrace of a shopping mall, right by the airport. Nice views from the open section of the water and overlooking the sugar loaf mountain etc. I sat inside because of the weather. Service was very good - friendly and professional. Food was delicious and the presentation was very nice too. Except for the desert, I had the special one, and felt the description wss exaggerated. The cake was too sweet and the sauce made it even more so. Prices are expensive. But 25$ for a main dish with rather small portion is a bit much, in my opinion. A Caipirinha, dumdum starter, Camarao curry main, chocolate cake desert and an espresso cost above 50$. This included a service charge of 12%+ They wished me for my birthday, but would've been nice to at least offer the little espresso for free. Well.

Beautiful spot! Really enjoyed the location and restaurant itself. So pretty… with Sugarloaf mountain and beach view… they even opened the rooftop which was nice. Took long for waiters to come by the table… normally not a problems… it’s a popular spot… however 3 tables that sat down after us all had drinks and appetizers a before we finally had to flag down the waiter. Food was not the best. We ordered filet mignon and sirloin, along with some starters. Everything came out lukewarm and steaks were tough. Such a disappointment because everything looks better than it actually was. As of now… we are still waiting for our waiter to return to either get dessert or pay our bill…. Still just sitting here… lol. It’s funny at this point.

This place is very beautiful and the food was really good. Only down side was 1 1/2 hour wait to get a table. Maybe with a reservation well in advance this can be avoided no idea. Still worth the time!

A full taste of Brazil in one meal Terra Brasilis in Urca is one of those places where you can sit by the sea and feel like you’re experiencing all of Brazil in a single meal. The menu brings together dishes from several states, so you get a mix of flavors and cooking styles from across the country. It’s a good place to understand how different the food is from region to region — from hearty northern stews to lighter coastal dishes. We got a table right on the beach, which made the setting hard to beat. The sound of the waves and the view of Sugarloaf Mountain give the meal a special feel without being overly formal. We ordered a few starters and two mains to share between three people, and that was plenty. Portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, especially considering the location. The place has live music most of the time, which adds to the atmosphere, though it can get a bit loud. Sitting toward the back helps if you want a more relaxed conversation. The staff are friendly and keep things moving even when it’s busy. After eating, it’s easy to take a short walk through Urca, one of Rio’s most peaceful neighborhoods. You can stop for a drink nearby and look out at the view of Corcovado and Sugarloaf — both visible from just a few steps away. Terra Brasilis is a great option if you want to try food from all over Brazil without traveling far, enjoy a good meal by the beach, and see one of Rio’s classic views all in one outing.

Nestled in the serene Botanical Garden neighborhood, La Bicyclette is a delightful French bakery and bistro that transports you straight to Paris. This charming spot, founded by Henri Forcellino and his Brazilian wife Ana Paula Gentil, began as a humble home-based venture delivering freshly baked goods by bicycle. Today, it has blossomed into two locations where visitors can indulge in artisanal breads, flaky croissants, and delectable pastries like pain au chocolat.
Always tasty meals, fresh breads, and good pour-over coffee. The pastries as exceptional! I love the lassi drink with mango and mint & the pain au chocolate. Highly recommend having a sandwich on a baguette, or salad (good size), or the croissant stuffed with strawberries and nutella. Since 2017 this has been my favorite cafe in Rio. I always feel welcome and peaceful at La Bicyclette. 🚲🥖🥐☕ Enjoy your visit too!

We went for a brunch. The place was very cosy both inside and outside. However, my girlfriend and I were truly disappointed with the service attitude. My girlfriend wanted to order a breakfast menu which included a natural juice. She asked if she could mix two fruits for the juice and said that she would even pay the price difference. Ten service however was extremely inflexible and ruled out such possibility. Zero customer-centric! Moreover, service brought a fried egg instead of a scrambled one. The fried eggs were initially too soft (a significant part of the eggwhite was still liquid). Also as I was about to finish with one of my plates the waitress asked if she could remove the plate; yet, before having answered that I wasn’t done yet she removed it. Food-wise it was good. The waffles were excellent, so were the juices. The avocado toasts were extremely difficult to eat and overall a bit bland in terms of flavour. The coffee was good.

It’s one of my go-to spots! The food is super tasty, always feels fresh, and I love that there are tons of vegetarian and vegan options. The staff is really friendly, which adds to the chill vibe. Service is usually quick, especially after the breakfast rush. It can get a little slow in the morning just because it gets packed. I really like sitting outside at the round tables when the weather’s nice. It’s relaxed and casual, and great for hanging out. Inside is nice too if you want something quieter. They’ve got lots of juices! For soda lovers, being your own coca-cola: they don’t serve soda. Parking can be hit or miss depending on the time, so I usually just Uber there to keep it simple.

Expectations were kind of high of this one and not fullfilled unfortunately. Recommended to have great coffee and great ambient, I was expecting speciality level - what I found was a decent bakery with some coffee options. To be fair, the bread really was good and the bowls around us looked great, too. Minus one star due to quite basic coffee. Ambient is nice next to the gardens, especially with their Veranda. Service was great.
Daniel W — Google review
They had a varied range of pastries and cakes, which looked scrumptious. After a quick browse we knew that we had to try some of these. We sat at one of the tables outside and were offered a QR code to see the menu in English. This place didn’t just do baked goods, it also offered a wide range of breakfast items and sandwiches. We stuck to ordering some cakes. Unfortunately the one I really wanted to try which was Apple, Walnut and Cinnamon was only available as a large cake. I had to change to something else and chose Orange and Almond cake. Something got lost in translation as I ended up with an Almond Croissant. I just went with it and it was nice. My husband ordered an apple tart and crostine. The crostine was twisted delicate filo pastry integrated with little bursts of chocolate. It was a much lighter alternative to a pain au chocolate. The apple tart was simply delightful. The firm yet soft slices apple sat in a perfect sticky glacé on a bed of solid yet almost biscuity base. It teamed well with the coffee he had ordered. Along with this I chose a Pink Lemonade. This was like having a fruity mojito without the alcohol. There were full pieces of raspberry and blackberry in it.

Outstanding! Both to take out and to eat and and sit outside. Incredible cake and food and extremely friendly service. Great vibes and perfect after visiting before/after the botanical gardens.

Café 18 do Forte, located within the picturesque grounds of Copacabana Fort, offers a delightful dining experience with stunning views of Rio. The menu features a variety of options from breakfast to lunch, including brunch specialties and fresh seafood dishes. Guests can savor their meals al-fresco while enjoying the refreshing sea breeze and taking in the panoramic ocean views.
I love this place, every time I come to Rio I try to have breakfast here at least once. The view is one of a kind! This year I came for my birthday and they gave me a piece of cake with a candle!! 🎂🎉 Always recommend the breakfast for 2, it’s just great! Service is excellent, I’m allergic to nuts and they gave me two extra yogurts with fruit because the regular ones have granola with peanuts. Love it here 💛 Arrive early to get a table by the sea!
Francisca N — Google review
Café 18 do Forte exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed not only by the beautiful setting but also by the warm and attentive service. The location is absolutely unique – right by the ocean, offering one of the best views of Copacabana you could possibly imagine. Sitting at a table with the sea just a few meters away, enjoying the breeze and the sound of the waves while being served fresh, delicious food, made the entire experience unforgettable. The dishes were beautifully presented and tasted even better than they looked. Everything I ordered was full of flavor and freshness – from the starters to the main course, each bite felt thoughtfully prepared with high-quality ingredients. The salad was crisp and refreshing, the fish perfectly grilled, and the pairing with local beer was spot on. What really made it stand out, apart from the food, was the relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. It’s a place where you can take your time, enjoy every moment, and simply let the scenery do its magic. I can honestly say this was one of the most enjoyable meals I’ve had in Rio. Highly recommended for anyone looking for both amazing food and a breathtaking setting.

Came here for a light lunch while visiting the Fort. I must say that everything exceeded my expectations. The views of Copacabana Beach and Sugarloaf Mountain were slightly obscured by mist, but the food and service made up for it. Both the prawn and tuna salads were delicious, with good portion sizes. Also good wine by the glass and beers. Service was quick and attentive. Highly recommended.
David S — Google review
The view was breathtaking! I had a cold coconut cake and a Pavlova, both of which were very sweet, so you'll want to drink plenty of water with them. Other than that, the service was excellent, and the scenery was simply beautiful. I highly recommend visiting, especially since you can enjoy another view from the beach. A quick reminder: you can only use cash to enter the base!
Yumi N — Google review
Very beautiful view over the ocean, but the food was not it. I’m traveling solo and they were only offering brunch for only 2 people minimum so I had to pick different things from the menu. The food came cold and so was my waffle was hard as a stone. My cappuccino was also cold apart from that stunning view.
Cinzia I — Google review
The sweet food is better than the savory food. My meal was simply okay, but my iced caramel coffee was delicious and so was the waffles and French toast.
Kara M — Google review
The view is stunning, but the service is really slow. It took more than 45 minutes from the moment they took my order to when the food finally arrived and it was cold ❄️ I ordered a dessert and another drink, but the drink never arrived ❌ When it came time to pay, there were many connection problems. I highly recommend avoiding ordering here and instead trying one of the neighboring restaurants that offer the same view.
Omar S — Google review
Beautiful spot overlooking Copacabana beach. Our light lunch included a tuna melt with generous helpings of tuna and cheese between two thick slices of grilled sourdough plus a shrimp salad. The Caiprinha was perfect! Enjoyed our visit. Just mention at the gate that you’re going to the cafe to skip the entrance fees.

Best local bar/restaurant in the area. Fantastic food, even more fantastic are the owner/daughter and the atmosphere every other Sunday evenings!
Terry — Google review
The food was excellent, way better than I had expected and actually one of the best meals I had in Brazil. Quite frankly, I had expected that the positive reviews were driven by the “favela experience”. Nothing like it - you can get excellent fool for half the price, compared to what you can get in Copacabana. And if you are concerned about safety, there’s really no need to. The place is technically in the favela, but you don’t need to go through any shady areas to get there. Just go and enjoy.
Michal Z — Google review
This was absolutely amazing! From the first contact with the service until the moment we left. The best experience we had so far in Rio. So friendly stuff. The owner, David, came to say hello and had a little chat with us. Besides the warm welcome the food was outstanding. Especially the „small“ snacks - remarkable! I would highly recommend this place to everyone who wants a taste of Brazil on all levels. We will be back next week for sure.
Fabsi — Google review
Brilliant restaurant. The service was a bit slow and confused but the food made up for it. One of the best meals we had in Brazil! Please don't worry about the favella, it is super safe, arguably safer than the whole Copacabana. Funny story, we asked the waitress whether the pea soup is vegan, to which she said yes, she double checked with the kitchen to make sure there was no milk inside. Well, there may not have been any milk inside but there was a sausage, not so vegan after all :D

Food was great but the service was terrible! We had a disappointing experience at the restaurant. First, they forgot our starter, and when we received the bill, they overcharged us for the wine. When we pointed out that the wine was priced incorrectly, they claimed it wasn’t on the wine list and insisted the price was correct. Despite explaining that we ordered a French Rosé, the manager became angry and refused to discuss the issue or apologize. Although they eventually corrected the bill, they did so with a very poor attitude. As we were there to have dinner with foreign friends, the entire situation became quite embarrassing for us. What a wonderful place! I had low expectations given that there aren’t that many nice cafés around Rio, especially considering it’s a major city but this one surprised me. The place is big and spacious with very comfortable seating. They even have sockets next to tables, ideal for nomads to work in. The coffee is delicious. The cakes even better. Highly recommend the cheesecake. Staff is warm and friendly 🤗 Will definitely keep going back for some work or a simple coffee. EDIT: They play wonderful live music as well!!! In certain hours. What a wonderful place. I also decided to try their food menu. Not bad! Though the steak had some toughness to it. Mac and cheese was fantastic! Service was exemplary as usual. One of the worst tasting decaf coffees I’ve ever tasted, honestly foul. Air con wasn’t working properly so it was unbearably hot inside. They added a 10% service charge, just for a quick coffee? Teva Deli, located in Copacabana, is a unique establishment led by chef Daniel Biron. It stands out for its entirely plant-based menu, catering to both vegans and non-vegans. The deli offers a variety of surprising and flavorful items, with an emphasis on organic and freshly made products. Visitors praise the impeccable quality of the food and friendly service.
The cheese bread was yummy. So great to have a whole vegan place! Everything tastes great but the dishes that we took didn’t feel that healthy- they probably have less processed stuff too.

A cozy restaurant for vegetarian meals in Copacabana. I visited for breakfast, and it was a good experience. I tried the croissant with tofu, which was just okay for me, although it was larger than the usual size. The latte, however, was worth trying. My friend ordered the omelette, and it tasted better than the croissant. Overall, it was a nice experience in the vegetarian scene in Rio.

What can we say about this place other than it is the best vegan place we have been to ever! A huge selection of baked goods, breakfast, lunch and dinner options which tasted amazing. The ginger ale was amazing and great coffee! We came a number of times trying their vegan meatballs, vegan burger and vegan pastries and vegan desserts . The vegan cheesy seitan steak a big highlight! We wish there are more of these in the future, especially in the UK! Hats off to the chefs and staff for the top quality food and service.

Teva is hands down one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Rio de Janeiro! 🌿 It’s 100% vegan, all organic, and completely preservative free. Everything on the menu is made with care and packed with flavor. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just someone looking to eat healthy, Teva has something for you. Their menu is impressively extensive, with options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everything is delicious, creative, and beautifully presented. This time I tried their vegan churrasco, and it was amazing. The textures and flavors were so well done that you don’t miss the traditional version at all. I visited the Teva Copacabana location, which also has a bakery section where you can buy their incredible products to take home. The atmosphere is cozy and modern, with a warm and welcoming vibe that matches the restaurant’s healthy philosophy. Parking is easy with two garages nearby and some street spots, although I would recommend going by Uber for convenience. No reservations were needed; I just walked in and got a table right away. If you’re looking for a healthy, flavorful, and 100% vegan experience, Teva is the place. I fully recommend it. A true gem in Rio! 🌱

I was tipped off by my friend Renata to try the plant-based menu at Teva Deli in Rio, and thank goodness I did. Sophisticated but unpretentious. The vegan cannoli alone was so yummy. Our table shared the portobello cardoppia and caju cheese, both rich, earthy, and luxuriously satisfying. Creamy, filling, delicious, proof that vegan food can flirt with decadence. There are so many more dishes I’m coming back for!

Everything so tastey, you wouldn't believe it's vegan. We tasted the burrito, cheddar burger, veggies with rice, all delicious. The sweets are so good too.

This is one of the best vegan restaurants I’ve been too! The food is delicious and they had a DJ while I ate! So good 😊 would definitely come back!! Must try the almond croissant 🥐

Was not happy with my chickpea salad at all, it was small, and just didn’t hit the spot. Also ordered a bean soup which was good. I’m sure other items are ok but that chickpea salad

Boni's Gourmet is a charming spot in Rio known for its delightful coffee and freshly baked bread. The friendly staff, though primarily Portuguese speakers, make visitors feel welcome with their warm hospitality. The menu boasts an array of delicious options, including natural juices, cakes, and other delectable treats. Guests appreciate the opportunity to sample items before making a purchase. While communication may be challenging for English speakers, the menu features helpful visuals. Visitors praise the clean environment and helpful service at this establishment.
Amazing place! We went for breakfast and didn’t regret it! Delicious food, a big menu, fresh stuff. The place is clean, the staff is helpful. They don’t speak English though, but the menu is with pictures.

Very friendly staff. Foods are above average. Will recommend. Opens early 6am good for foreigners who like breakfast.
Jeff B — Google review
It seems to be a busy popular place, but I don't understand why. Food is subpar. I have no idea what my half loaf of bread was supposed to be. Waffle was cold. Cream-filled pastry not worth the calories. Scrambled eggs also cold and stiff.
Ndn D — Google review
The bakery goods look delicious. We purchased several items and brought them home to eat. The items tasted old and like they have been in the refrigerator for a long time. It is odd because they look fresh but the taste of stale refrigerator was overwhelming. I will not be returning

Very good breakfast options, high quality meals. Service not so good as before. Waitress rude, she wasn't patient when people don't. speak Portuguese well. But it's a good place

Spencer H — Google review
This was our spot for coffee and bread in the morning. The women who worked here were so nice and always made us feel welcomed. The language barrier in Rio is real serious but we managed with some spanish that was similar to some Portuguese words. This place had really good coffee. They grind the beans daily. They bake all the breads and make natural juices as well. They have different cakes and other sweets and when we didn't want to buy something without knowing how it tasted they gave us a sample.

Cantón is a delightful culinary gem that offers an exceptional dining experience. The restaurant serves up fresh and flavorful dishes, with unique tastes that leave a lasting impression. While the space is cozy, which may lead to a bit of waiting time, the attentive service from staff like Beatriz and Roberty makes it worthwhile. Guests rave about the noodles and Pisco sour, although some have noted mixed feelings about feeling welcomed by all staff members.
Excellent place, highly recommended. The food is super fresh, very well portioned, and tasty. The flavors were very unique. The place is on the smaller side so you may need to wait a bit, but the service was amazing, our waitress Beatriz was super attentive, and the service was prompt. The only downside was the Maracuyá juice, it was a bit on the diluted side. But the food was supreme.
Alexandra G — Google review
2/3 dishes good, service lovely, Ramen poor stock and the pork not Chashu pork bonnet in mouth or anything close, looked liked end pieces chewing and dry, ramen nearly untouched and waitress was told and still charged?

Very good food, atmosphere and service! Gabriela, our server, was attentive and very kind. Will must definitely return to this restaurant!

I’m from Singapore and was pleasantly surprised to see my country represented in the menu. I’m impressed by the food (though I can’t say it’s authentic Chinese - more inspired!). Each part of my ramen was well cooked and seasoned - our only gripe is the broth which felt like MSG and salt overload. We loved the cruyok which was battered pork with a lovely tangy sauce and comes with slightly undercooked fried rice. Now I know the taste, I will visit the outlet in São Paulo too!

All products are artisanal, with natural fermentation process and French materia-prima. There is a variety of pastries, such as croissants and baguettes, sandwiches like the Croque Monsieur and Croque Madame.
Pain Perdu opened its new place recently. Now you can seat down in a charming and cozy place and neighborhood and enjoy amazing bread, sandwiches, coffee and even drinks with coffee! The breads are outstanding and the coffee is rich and very well made. The whole grain baguette with herbed butter is rich in flavor, taste and texture. The marguerita focaccia is amazing to take home and make your own grilled cheese sandwich as well.

Unfortunately can’t recommend this place. Wi-fi was so bad even when I asked in the beginning if it’s good or not. The quality of croissant also could be better for this price. (Translated by Google) A French café located in the heart of Leblon. The menu is extensive and has several sweets on display. This time we ordered a croque monsier, which was very good, and an iced frappe, which was good, but we thought the drink was too small in the cup, since half of it was whipped cream (pictured), about 4 or so of whipped cream. Usually the drink comes all the way to the top of the cup and the whipped cream is on top, like in the cafés I've been to here in RJ, it's bad because we paid for the drink and wanted it to be full. The menu doesn't say how many ml it is, but before ordering we asked the waiter, he said more than 300 ml, but unfortunately it didn't say it was more than 200 ml at most. The strawberry croissant with cream was simply wonderful, very light and refreshing. We would go back just to eat it. The place is small, but very cute, worth the trip. (Original) Uma cafeteria francesa localizada no coração do Leblon.

(Translated by Google) I can't describe the quality of the food and service. My boyfriend and I used to walk by it all the time but had never gone in because we thought it only sold cheese bread. One day, we decided to go in to see what it was like inside... and I'm so glad we did! The menu, until a few weeks ago, was something along the lines of a very simple brunch/breakfast menu, but of undeniable quality! The first thing we tried was a slice of pizza, and it was love at first sight! Then we went for breakfast with the grilled bread, egg, cheese, and juice... everything was so delicious! And they make everything themselves! The bread is made in-house, and you can really taste the difference, just like the 100% handmade pizza! Everything is simple and beautifully made with quality ingredients. Finally, about two weeks ago, there was a lasagna dish in the window. I asked about its availability throughout the week and went back today to try it with my boyfriend... we're wondering how we hadn't tried this before?? Thinking about how to shout about the cheese bread factory to the world, hahaha. Anyway, we tried the short rib lasagna and the four-cheese lasagna, both DIVINE! Last but not least, the service is always impeccable! Everyone is very attentive, knows how to talk about the products they sell, and speaks with great affection! I wish more people discovered the cheese bread factory!

Maybe it's because I have other bakeries specializing in gluten-free as a reference, and I went to visit with expectations beyond what I should have. Hello .. It's great that you're interested in the criticism, I'll try to explain, as I hope it's constructive: The first 100% gluten-free bakery I discovered was in Jundiaí, Padoca, you can see it in my reviews. Then I discovered two different ones in Campinas, with a similar style. The one in Jundiaí became a reference for me: It smells like a bakery when you enter, it has a bakery window and has fresh products without preservatives and also without lactose. There's freshly fried pastry, chicken drumsticks, pies, fresh bread... and a shelf of large, fresh loaves of bread. All products have good durability and can also be frozen at home. There are sweets like chocolate bombs, and frozen foods like rondeli, cannelloni, pizza, etc., etc. What I mentioned about my great expectations was mainly that there are several products to be tasted, fresh and on time. Or taken home without being frozen. Like loaves of bread made with various types of dough, whole grain or not, with seeds or not... they are big, fragrant and fresh. Anyway, I hope I helped. (Original) Desculpe me os responsáveis, fiquei decepcionado.

(Translated by Google) Guys, it's not good... I ordered it at home, and it arrived a little wilted, as if it had been heated in the microwave. I was disappointed, but I decided to go to the store to give it another chance to find fresh products. Another disappointment, they sell frozen products and heat them in the microwave right away, I wasn't excited. Ok, that's the company's proposal. The only product that was fresh was the Italian bread. I decided to take it…. Horrible, I don't even know how I'm going to finish eating. Is there fennel in the dough??? I didn't expect a fragrant smell... there are some different ingredients... the dough seems raw.

(Translated by Google) I've had a few cakes and a cookie from Sin Patisserie, and after trying this Gluttony of the Week, I decided to leave my review. I'm addicted to pistachios and lost it when I first saw this flavor. Since then, I've been keeping an eye out every week for it, and it finally arrived. I found the pistachio filling very interesting because it's not as sweet as some places, with a hint of saltiness reminiscent of the seeds, giving the cake a little extra kick. The vanilla brigadeiro pairs well with the pistachio filling. It was a good choice. My only criticism is that, for better or worse, the cake batter is large. I like to take a bite from the frosting to the bottom, including all the fillings, and that's impossible here. Not to mention that the slice is very generous for one person because of the height. Even so, the batter is moist and light. I'm eager to try the other flavors I haven't tried yet.

On top of that, an average price of R$30 for a cookie seems a bit disappointing. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it. (Translated by Google) Last Monday, January 30th, I was at the Barra shopping store with my mother. I discovered late last year that I am lactose intolerant. Well, we ordered an almond bread sandwich with ham and strawberry jam (me), my mother ordered the same almond bread with cheese and ham (hot mix), accompanied by coffee. So far so good. Then I asked for a slice of the orange cake, which the girl who served us assured me was lactose-free and dairy-free. When eating the cake (and only I ate it) I noticed that something wasn't right, I couldn't identify it, but I ate it. The consistency seemed like a frozen cake because with each bite it was as if the cake had a rough consistency. I tasted lemon too. Conclusion: in the early hours of Monday to Tuesday I had uncontrollable diarrhea. I had some diarrheal episodes and I am taking medication until today (2/7/23) and will continue the medication for a few weeks. Maybe there could have been cross contamination, I don't know! I was sad because I had already had lunch at the same store and everything was great. I ask that the store pay more attention because there are people who may have more serious problems than I had. The store has products without dietary restrictions and with restrictions and these cannot come into contact with the former. This is very serious.
