Grand Central Kitchen is a small, cozy restaurant located on Stephenson Street, opposite Grand Central Station. It's known for serving classic English breakfast dishes such as full English breakfast with bacon, sausages, omelette, tomato, mushroom, baked beans and toast. In addition to their breakfast menu, they also offer a variety of sandwiches, wraps and pizzas. Despite its small size, the venue has gained an excellent reputation for its mouth-watering breakfast options and warm atmosphere.
This is a great spot for classic cafe breakfasts. We had the Full English and the house omelette and both were super tasty. The restaurant itself is simple, the tables are quite close together but it runs like clockwork! Staff are super friendly and made us feel so welcome. Portions are generous, food is delicious and turnover is fast. A great experience!

Want great tasting food, no fuss and brilliant service… then this second to none cafe is unmissable!! It would be a mistake to stay in your hotel and not venture out to this flavoursome location!! The service is rapid! Food is served hot!! But the coffee… wow!! The regular flat white is a full cup of coffee… and better tasting than your chain coffee houses!!
Charlie M — Google review
I'd give 6 stars if possible. I was seated quickly, served without fuss, my food exceeded expectations and was reasonably priced. Great coffee as well. There's no reason to go to a chain breakfast place in Birmingham over this place, in my opinion. Support independents!
Dominic I — Google review
Really enjoyed this cosy little cafe. Right behind the station which is so handy and convenient. It was also conveniently located beside the metro station. There was a queue on the Saturday morning, so beware but the queue moves quickly. Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and are more particularly friendly to wheelchair users. Would highly recommend this cafe for the staff alone!

Straight after getting off the train at Birmingham New Street yesterday, I popped into Grand Central Kitchen for some breakfast. Gotta say, I’d never had eggs and cheese like that before – absolutely delicious! The staff were so friendly too. Special shout-out to the Iranian girl who was lovely, and the bloke (can’t remember his name!) who recommended some spots for me to check out in Digbeth. Loads of cool places to explore, so thank you both for the tips! To be honest, I was a bit knackered when I came in and probably could’ve done with a nap right there and then. If I hadn’t been so tired, I’d have been even more buzzing about it all, haha. Anyway, cracking little spot – I’ll definitely swing by again next time I’m in Birmingham. Matee, I'm minging. Bloody love yaouw' 🤣

Very nice place to have a breakfast and brunch, warm atmosphere and friendly staffs. The food is also delicous.
Julyn P — Google review
Grand Central Kitchen in Birmingham was a bit of a mixed bag, landing squarely at a 3 out of 5 experience for us. It’s a fantastic location, right in the heart of the city with all the buzz of the station, making it a perfect spot for a pre-train coffee or a casual bite. The interior has a great, modern vibe that feels both stylish and welcoming. We were really impressed with the coffee, which was absolutely top-notch—rich, flavourful, and clearly made with care and quality beans. It’s the kind of drink that would easily draw you back on its own merit. The food menu is appealing and our choices were tasty and well-presented when they finally arrived. However, the service was unfortunately where things stumbled. While the staff were perfectly pleasant and apologetic, the wait for both our order to be taken and for our coffee to arrive was significantly longer than it should have been. The restaurant wasn’t at full capacity, which made the delays all the more noticeable. It didn’t ruin our visit, but it did take the shine off what should have been a quick and efficient stop. Ultimately, Grand Central Kitchen has a lot of potential. The core product is excellent, but they need to find a way to streamline their operational flow. We’d pop in again for that excellent coffee, but only if we weren’t in a particular hurry.

We tried the English breakfast (served until late in the afternoon) and it was really tasty and copious. Affordable too, I recommend it.

Bakery
Coffee shop
Located on New Street and in the Mailbox, as well as in Wolverhampton, Medicine Bakery is a unique artisan bakery-cafe-gallery that offers an authentic and unusual selection of breads and cakes. The bakery also serves as a social space by hosting independent markets and exhibitions. With its vibrant mix of musical genres, Medicine Bakery has expanded from being a swanky bar in Digbeth to become a master of all things coffee and cake.
Oh my gosh. What a find. It’s not cheap, but that’s reflected in the location, venue, presentation of food and taste. And goodness, everything was delicious! We were a party of 6; our order consisted of the Medicine and various French toasts. The only gripe is the fried chicken from one plate to another varied quite a bit in size. We don’t know whether one was more generous, or we were short changed on the other? A bit of consistency here wouldn’t go amiss. Other than that, a perfect way to start a Sunday morning. They also allowed dogs too! Service was timely, the venue was beautiful with lots of plants, and everyone of us enjoyed our meal. Can’t wait to come back. Well done!

I’m sad to report that this was a distinctly underwhelming experience. My daughter and I decided to pop in for an afternoon drink and a pastry. We normally go to EL&N, however their recent food hygiene rating has put us off, so we thought we’d try somewhere new. Firstly, the general ambience is rather grubby and downmarket: the tables were tacky, the singular a toilet an afterthought and everywhere looked like it needed a good scrub. We had to wait for a table (no problem), however it was almost impossible to catch anyone’s eye, so the whole process was unclear. When we were seated, we were given some rather tired and shabby menus which immediately adhered themselves to the surface of the table. Not to be deterred, we made our choice from the limited selection of pastries and cakes available. I chose the passionfruit cruffin which had seen better days and was still dripping in cooking fat. It was far from the light and delicate laminated pastries that I have tried at artisan bakeries and I felt rather let down. We noticed that the general atmosphere was unfriendly, I suspect that this was partly due to the staff’s fantastic ability to avoid eye contact at all times. Even my daughter noted that she had not seen a single member of waiting staff actually smile during the entirety of our visit. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.
Kate B — Google review
TLDR: I’d only recommend this place if you’re getting a pastry from the front. Long wait times (45+ mins) + no cooling system = not a great place to dine in. Came here twice and had very different experiences. When a friend and I grabbed a pastry from the front, we were served and seated right away, even moving to a booth when requested. The atmosphere was great and the interior is very aesthetic and appealing for social media. No complaints here. When I came alone a few months later to order brunch, I had a 2/5 experience. First, it took around 5-10 minutes to be seated with no acknowledgment of the long wait time, even with several moments of eye contact with staff who didn’t seem very rushed, though this can be overlooked. Second, I waited over 45 minutes for my food (not a guess or overestimate) without acknowledgment of any sort. There was a period of around 15 minutes where nothing came out of the kitchen (I had a direct view of where the food exited). During this wait time, it was increasingly apparent how uncomfortable the space was. There was no AC and the building has no windows to open. The only cooling system was a single fan, and with the many skylights, the restaurant felt like a greenhouse. Literally outside the restaurant was cooler than inside and that’s not an exaggeration. The food itself was alright. I ordered the harissa benedict and the only qualm I have with it was that the eggs were almost hard boiled and not runny at all. There was a lot of chorizo on it and the mushrooms were great, however I don’t think I’d pay £14 for it again.

A lovely brunch, but nothing special. We ordered the granola bowl, some toast and some bakes to take home. The sourdough was lovely (although the jam alongside is just a jar, not homemade), and the bowls were okay, albeit quite lacking on the fruit. The bakes we took home were really disappointing. The biscoff cruffin had no biscoff 😅 and the chocolate chip cookie was completely tasteless. The setting itself was lovely, a great spot to meet for a coffee.

I love medicine bakery so I was chuffed to find it open on new street just a walk away from the office! Lunch was delicious! I was excited to have my usual fried chicken but they ran out!!??? Shockkkkk! But hey I got to try something new and went for Turkish eggs! Delicious and very healthy. Lovely space and atmosphere! There are individual tables and sharing tables so make a note of what you want on your booking if you’re fussy!

Delicious food! Mike served us today he was a really chilled guy, was really understanding when I returned the matcha drink I didn’t like- I got the iced chai latte and it was AMAZING! Would come back again

First time here for breakfast . Very smart place in the mailbox Birmingham. Menu good with lots of lovely choices. My choice-sausage brioche with a side of hash brown. Very tasty. 😁 Rooibos tea. ☕️ Group of four. Made reservations but not really needed. Good service. Comfy seats. Nice clean space. Bakery section cakes etc looked amazing and took selection home 🤣🤣👏 There are other locations in the city 😁 Toilets nice and clean. Child friendly. Disabled friendly. Wheelchair access. Nice smart breakfast/ brunch spot. Recommended 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Been a few times and usually really enjoy, bit of a shame the food wasn't as good today. I had the vegan brunch with an added poached egg which was more water than egg. My partner had the regular brunch, both of our hash browns felt a bit undercooked. But drinks were lovely and we've been before for pastries which were delicious!

The venue overlooks Birmingham's canal side, providing a picturesque setting for enjoying endless Bloody Marys.
Recommend by a local friend during our visit to Birmingham recently. Lovely breakfast and atmosphere. We spent a good 2 hours there. We weren’t rushed as our drinks were flowing. I would return next time I’m in Birmingham.

Went for brunch on Sunday. It looked good from inside and quite aesthetic. We were excited to be here but disappointed by lack of brunch options. We had a full vegan breakfast but replaced tofu with eggs because they didn’t have a veg breakfast option. Also ordered French toast that came with ice cream and that was quite nice actually. The vegan breakfast had tater tots few of them which our server dropped on the floor next to us while keeping the plates which is alright but she looked at it and then just ignored. I think that she could have atleast apologised or acknowledged. just kept the food on the table and that behaviour was off-putting. Lack of respect for the food and your customer. The service was really slow given that the place was almost empty on Sunday morning. Had to wait more than 15 mins for someone to take our order and also 15-20 mins after we finished the food just sitting waiting for someone to come and get the bill. Coffee was mild and disappointing. The only good thing for us was the French toast and the eggs with avocado. The bread in vegan breakfast was half burnt and too hard. and the mushroom didn’t taste good. Beans were good though. Disappointing experience. So many other options in mailbox for brunch!

Lovely looking restaurant. Friendly welcoming staff and a nice selection on the menu. We ordered the chicken burger - good flavour, well cooked but quite a small portion of fries. My son ordered the bao buns and a side of fried, they were nice, well cooked, quite sweet in flavour. My daughter had the halloumi fries and onion rings which she really enjoyed and I tried the shakshuka for the first time, it was quite nice, pretty spicy and a big portion, I couldn't eat it all. It could have done with more sourdough toast with it though to soak up the tomatoes and the egg. Overall a nice meal and happy Ilto tey something new.

Waited over half an hour for our food. Waiter didn’t bother bringing over table water as requested when ordering. The coffees arrived luke warm. The food arrived cold! Overall poor service, and very slow chefs. Won’t ever go back
Rajan — Google review
I would say first off, the highlight was the service we received from Jess, even when the whole place was full she was attentive and made sure to chase up the bar staff for our drinks regularly. Had an amazing time at bottomless brunch there's a decent variety of cocktails which can be expanded for an added cost. It's best if you have a reservation as this place can get quite full, especially on a Saturday.
Javaad W — Google review
Did bottomless brunch. Have done many of these in different places and just feel there isnt much of a selection. The service was great though and they kept the drinks flowing

Yorks Cafe & Coffee Roasters is a trendy urban spot in Birmingham known for its rustic charm and carefully sourced homemade breakfast, hot lunches, and cakes. The cafe features exposed brick walls, industrial pipes, and comfortable stool seating around a large wooden bar. They roast their own coffee beans in-house and offer standout brunch items like poached eggs with cumin butter on toast, lamb kofta breakfast tagine, and Chicago honey fried chicken on a cornbread muffin.
Lovely spot for a hot drink or a quick bite. We visited on Saturday morning for a light breakfast. Their sourdough with a choice of spreads was tasty - we each got to try a combo of spreads with our sourdough (peanut butter & Jam and peanut butter and honey. Items and reasonably priced. We were lucky to get a table quickly and staff were friendly and attentive. It does get very busy here as it is a small establishment.
Harini B — Google review
It's a great new cafe in Stephenson Street, overlooking the council house. The cafe was busy when we walked in, but they did manage to find a table for the two of us. The interior has the current trend of unfinished ceilings, where the air conditioning and electrical ductwork are exposed. We had a friendly & helpful waitress who engaged with us. The meals were lovely and tasty. My only criticism is that my meal wasn't that hot, but it didn't spoil the experience
Malcolm H — Google review
Came for brunch on a Sunday. As a walk-in, our group of 3 only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. This place has a nice atmosphere and we weren’t rushed at all throughout our meal or after. The menu is interesting with interesting spins on some breakfast foods. There was some flexibility with some of the dishes, for example picking the type of egg for the house breakfast. Recommend this place for brunch, especially if you are looking for a place centrally located, near New Street station.
Nina P — Google review
Due to being a frequent travel through Birmingham, i have always been wanting to see what Yorks Cafe was offering (I only wanted something to drink since i had a huge breakfast). I was greeted with a wonderful server who asked if i had any special requests or allergies, before coming around to take my order. The atmosphere was a nice vintage look inside. Personally I do love that style of environment. Moving on, they have a large variety of food and drinks and i tried one of their special lattes which had turmeric, cinnamon and ginger. The taste was unique and i had nothing like it before. It definitely refreshed my pallet. Overall, i am very pleased with the coffee and the staff and will definitely have to revisit within the near future. Thank you so much for your service.

I was in Birmingham for a City break with a friend and we discover York’s on google when we arrived at the Train station. Last Sunday we were starving after our journey coming from London so we decided to have a brunch. The cafe was very busy but we didn’t have to wait long to get a table, we ordered a Yorks House Breakfast which was so delicious, Fried chicken & French Toast with a beautiful sauce on the side and the Masala fries which were very tasty. Staff was really lovely and friendly. Also great coffee selection and perfect atmosphere for a Café. We went back again for more coffee and Avocado smashed and Feta cheeses on Toast, so yummy! Probably one of my favourite cafes ever!
Vito M — Google review
Great venue, but get there early to avoid queues. Service was good, and I like that they take payment when you order so you can just get up and go when done. Food was good, but would not say as amazing as it looked, but that could just be my taste. The presentation was fantastic how ever! The only reason to drop one star was the coffee was not hot enough, again just my taste, but I could have finished it before my food arrived, ask for it extra hot. Well worth a visit.
Alyn A — Google review
Great food! Coffee was a bit cold to my liking - lesson for next time to ask for extra hot 😊 we ordered Turkish eggs & Arabian eggs, the dishes were flawless and the Greek yogurt was very well seasoned . Poached eggs were perfect as well as the bread was amazingly soft. Decor was quite rustic, could be improved especially with just one toilet. Although a good place in the city centre.
Lavanya P — Google review
Popped in for brunch, after getting off the train at New Street Station. Great atmosphere of people working and just meeting up. A wide range of ages in there which I think says a lot about the quality of a place. That everyone is welcome and feels comfortable, whether young or more mature. The food was very good and the staff were welcoming and friendly .

The Early Bird Bakery in Kings Heath is a popular brunch spot known for its walk-ins only policy and long queues, especially on weekends. Due to its immense popularity, the bakery expanded into the space next door after five years of operation. Founded by two men named Tim, this bright and conscientious cafe offers freshly-baked cakes and pastries made with local ingredients.
Came in for brunch with my wife and baby son. Pre-booked our table and requested space for a pushchair, to which we were kindly allocated a table with plenty of space. Service was really good, attentive and welcoming. This is our second visit and just like the first time the food was an easy 10/10. Packed full of flavour, with every ingredient and element carefully thought about, with no flavour dominating the other; a perfect balance. Really nice place to relax with a calming yet buzzing atmosphere. We were so full but couldn’t leave without grabbing a couple of the incredible looking pastries to go. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

I had the Turkish Eggs from the Early Birds Menu and they were absolutely delicious! A perfect balance of flavours – creamy poached eggs, rich and tangy yoghurt, crispy toast, warm spices, and fresh herbs. Every bite was a little explosion of taste. The service was lovely too – friendly, attentive, and relaxed. Such a great start to the day in a place with great atmosphere. Highly recommended if you're in Birmingham and looking for something special for breakfast!
Katarzyna K — Google review
I’ve come here over the years for takeaways, with friends and family and to just get admin work done. I really liked this bakery and the staff are so so nice. However, since they expanded the bakery, it’s just become chaotic. They’ve lost some nice staff due to not accommodating for the expansion. For example, they should have made a separate coffee bar so that there is space for a bigger coffee machine for at least 2x staff to focus on hot drinks. 1 poor staff member sweating over trying to make the whole bakery’s coffees and all the takeaway drinks. Freeing up space by having a separate drinks making space would allow for more space in the front for 2x tills as there are cues now. Only 1x till also means that another staff member is stuck by themselves dealing with orders, takeaways and all the online orders. The staff honestly look quite stressed, I really feel for them. Especially as they are so nice to me, and a few of the female staff I get on well with. Once this is addressed it would be back to 5 stars as a rating! Other than that, the bakery items are good quality, food is really nice, creative flavours although quite pricey these days. I would not want to pay more if the prices went up further. The coffee is also quite nice and I really like the in house creations such as the miso caramel which you can also buy in store!

After hearing so many people rave about this place, I popped in today to pick up a couple of sweet treats. I chose the cherry and almond brioche and honestly, they were absolutely amazing! The lady at the counter couldn’t have been nicer or more personable either. What a lovely little gem of a place! I’ll definitely be back soon!

I’m rarely amazed by brunch food but wow this was amazing….delicious food ! Portions were huge so 100% worth its price ! It’s definitely my favourite place right and will for sure come back. Ps. I recommend coming quite early or booking a table as bakery got full pretty quickly.

Cute little bakery I recommend grabbing some baked goods! The brunch was ok, a bit pricey for what it was. It is a nice place to try some interesting pastries. The iced matcha latte was nice, along with the caramel latte. Not halal, but they did have veg options.

The menu offers classic British food, sandwiches, and an array of cocktails presented on a unique taste map that categorizes drinks based on their characteristics.
Had a fantastic bottomless brunch with a friend who l hadn't seen for a long while here. It was the perfect setting and the drinks just kept coming! The food was delicious and the cocktails were refreshing. I will definitely be back for another visit, it was so worth every penny and I even brought a dessert after our bottomless brunch time was up !! Thank you so much guys 😄 ALSO: I don't know the waitresses name but she was witty and friendly and attentive, 10/10 staff.

Recently visited this pub, prior to a theatre show. Booking is definitely advised with this venue. It was very busy when we arrived and extremely hot inside. It was very noisy, with lots or party groups and hen party, too. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We were shown to a table and then asked to move to the one alongside, some 20 minutes later! Our food order arrived within 15 minutes. It was well cooked and presented, tasted delicious, too. Our server was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her. The building itself was a bank, so the inside was beautiful, as you would expect from an old building. However, the leaves which hand around as decoration were very dusty and definitely due to be replaced/cleaned. Also, the downstairs corridors leading to the wash rooms require attention, along with the toilets themselves. On the whole, yes I would return, staff are wonderful, decoration/toilets in need of help.

A Great Experience at Lost and Found We had a really enjoyable time at Lost and Found. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated promptly (though it was a weekday), which was a great start. The interior is beautifully done—stylish and welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. We appreciated the online ordering system, which made things very convenient. The menu had a good range of options, and I went with the fish and chips—absolutely delicious! We also took advantage of the 2-for-1 offer on selected drinks, which was a nice bonus. Overall, a great experience, and we’ll definitely be back.

Staff were lovely and accommodating from start to finish. Very helpful and friendly, the place itself was really nice. Loved the decor, the facilities were lovely. Can’t really fault anything. The only thing I would say was the private bar wasn’t in use not sure if this was due to staffing as it was a Sunday but we had to go out the private room to the main bar for drinks and we had to order pretty much soon as we arrived as the kitchen closed at 8 and my booking was at 6. Apart from that our waitress Lolita? Was AMAZING!

The venue is nicely decorated and styled and we were greeted on entry and taking to our table by a polite and friendly and attentive waitress. Unfortunately that’s where the positives ended. Myself and my partner had the beef roast, the beef had a slimy texture was seriously undercooked and very fatty. The potatoes were also undercooked. The broccoli was fit for the pin, way past its best and it was the same with my partner’s cauliflower cheese. My daughter who made the booking for Mother’s Day barely ate her fish as it was watery and very mushy. We got the attention of the waitress to complain about the food, she was apologetic and said she’d get the manager to speak to us, we waited about 45 mins and the manager never arrived so we got the attention of the waitress again and she went off to speak to the manager again. Eventually we had the meals discounted but not to the level that matched the waste of money and poorly prepared food. I would not recommend this place for food.

Met with a friend for a late lunch, catch up, natter. Perfect! We ordered 4 starters and shared as neither of us were over hungry. Food delicious! Surrounding just lovely! We then sat there chatting so long we realised the 2 for 1 cocktails had started! Not many to choose from but my! They were so good! I know we'll be back again!

We had the lunch set menu and the food was really good — well-prepared dishes and absolutely amazing desserts. The service was excellent: friendly and attentive, especially thanks to the lovely Jasmeen who made us feel very welcome. It’s a real pity about the lack of cleanliness, as the place has great potential and could be truly outstanding with a bit more care.

Food & service was first class, despite being very busy the waitress was very attentive. Giving that it was a Saturday afternoon you will find it quite boisterous and I found the music to be a touch loud (but I am old and grey!!) and we were having to chat with raised voices, still, it was lovely, I enjoyed the steak and the Mrs enjoyed her burger. Therefore if you don't mind really loud music on Saturday afternoon then this is the place for you - recommended.....👍👍

I visited here a couple of weeks ago for the Sunday roast with my mum. We both had the roast beef and it was absolutely delicious. We ordered 3 of the sides and the only thing I would say was the staff should’ve informed us that the cauliflower cheese dish handle was very hot, otherwise we have no other complaints. A lovely meal out with delicious food and a wonderful choice of cocktails 🍸

Can’t say I really enjoy the food here, they have a really good selection of dishes, but it’s too international, they tend to be a master of none. At least the baked cheese and bread was tasty. So was the crispy duck and wrap. Overall environment is really nice and relaxing. The staff are really nice and friendly. After dinner, we went downstairs for some drinks and listen to the live singing performance, which was really enjoyable.

You need a reservation to dine inside as it gets very busy. The starters we had beforehand were absolutely delicious. However, I can’t say the same for the sirloin steak, it was supposed to be medium but arrived very overcooked, most likely due to the kitchen being under heavy pressure. To make up for it, they kindly offered us dessert on the house.

We stopped in for my daughters Birthday... Had a nice meal, all of my family enjoyed the hanging kabobs but my fish and chips was not as nice as I've had in the past. May have been a bad choice seeing as their clame to fame seems to be the kabobs or the sausage and mash (that my daughter loved). Took very good care of us and my sons nut allergy... very thankful!

Went on Saturday 2pm and they had plenty of tables available indoors downstairs. Speaker system was fantastic indoors to stream the musician’s live music at the porch outside. Very lovely staff too. Food wise, I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel and my friend got a chicken burger. The schnitzel was smaller than I thought for the price and was quite dry. Had to douse it in the mint sauce which was thankfully fantastic if you love mint. My friend really enjoyed their burger and it did look fantastic. The fries have a garlic seasoning on it which was pretty decent too. I wouldn’t mind coming back again. Saw a table got the kebab which looks really good, would like to try that next time.

The Botanist at Gas Street Basin delights with its location and atmospheric interior full of greenery and light. It's a perfect spot for a daytime coffee or an evening beer by the canal. Great food and service, order from your table or go up, whichever suits. We didn't book but got a table and the food and cocktails were great. We weren't rushed; we were able to stay and chat without any pressure, which was great on a Saturday afternoon. The music was a tad on the loud side for me as we wanted to talk, but it was upbeat and complemented the positive vibe. Good views of the canal and plenty of outdoor seating as well as inside.

Ok, so.. the food we had was fantastic. I ordered a steak, medium with Sweet potato fries. The steak was cooked perfectly and was very tasty, had a beef dripping (I think) to go along with steak, that was 😋 The sweet potato fires where cooked well and crispy. Now the service, I was not impressed with the server we had at all, she couldn't crack a smile, didn't speak, and just had a very stone faced expression, now I am not sure if she has things going on, or just hates her job but something going on. I've given 1 star for service due to the person who collected our plates, she at least smiled. The actual place itself was lovely and very up market. Will i be back? not to this location in Brindley place, only because of the service. Food wise, I would but I am sure other locations will have the same food on the menu, so would rather go elsewhere.

Popped in on a weekend lunchtime for a beer. Nice location by the canal, impressive decor, mostly great, friendly service, but I will always remember this as the place where I first broke the £8 barrier for a pint! Also, we were told the coffee machine was broken, so no flat white for the wife, who settled for a Pepsi Max.

Walked here from Edgbaston with our elderly Nan, food and drinks are lovely and the staff are so caring and kind! Our Nan bless her was feeling quite cold and one of the lovely girls on the bar kindly donated an unused apron for her to cover her legs with to keep her warm.

I will certainly be frequently visiting this venue. Thank you Joanna for making it a well worth evening out.

First time visit to All Bar One at Brindley place this afternoon, lured away my usual route into the city centre by an offer on the drink and has failed to disappoint. The bar was quiet at this time of day (around 2pm), but plenty of staff to around with no waiting around to be served. Those who served were all friendly, polite, and felt unrushed to chose my drink from the wide selection available. All of the other staff also come across as happy to be there, and keeping the place tidy as go along. Sat inside for most of the visit, where the music was at a comfortable level, air conditioned and felt relaxed throughout entire visit. Modern and trendy atmosphere to the place. The outside seating area looks nice too, with the plants surrounding it to separate it from the the busy Brindley Place main area making it a little more private when sitting outside. I did not eat here, so can't comment personally on the food. But had a flick through the menu and there is plenty of choice. Others orders coming out looked pretty decent though, will consider having food sometime in the future and update the review more then. Toilets were clean, fresh smell and generally well kept. Nice touch to have a moisturiser available too at the sinks! Did spot one of the soap is missing, but the other sink had plenty so not a problem. Only issue from entire visit really is the O2 WiFi, it was so slow to load anything that I couldn't use it and had to tether laptop to mobile phone instead. Could do with it being taken a look at, as the bar was quiet so doubt many were using it. Does not impact my rating as had my mobile to hand as a fall back though. Spotted a small but tempting selection of cakes at the end of the bar - may have to try these at some point when passing for a coffee! Enjoyed my visit, and will be very happy to return!

It seamlessly combines the atmosphere of a pub with that of a restaurant, offering a diverse menu that includes pub grub favorites like pizza and classic British comfort food. The interior features bare wooden tables and brick walls, creating a contemporary and relaxed ambiance.
The atmosphere is wonderful. I recommend the outdoor sitting as there is really nice greenery around. And don’t worry about the cold, there are heaters next to each table. The food is very well cooked and I highly recommend the salad.

Came here to eat, rather than stay. We hadn't booked a table but fortunately there was space for our visit. I opted for the goats cheese pizza whilst my husband had the spicy vegan burger, which I tried and was very spicy! Our daughter enjoyed her pizza from the children's menu. All plates were emptied and we enjoyed our meals.

Really great experience, food and vibes were immaculate. Great place to just have that nostalgic afternoon with friends. Like you met your friends 10 years ago in the present. On the other hand. Tables and menus could be a bit better really. Bathrooms having lotion is a very nice touch and greatly appreciated. For those reasons really I'll give em a 5 star despite the issues. Please keep improving

The food was actually so insanely good, I celebrated with my girlfriend for my birthday and this great staff member Kristian gave respectable and kind service to us. The drinks (Lychee Martini and China Gold - 2 absolutely beautifully made drinks) were made by him and I was actually impressed. Best lowkey atmosphere and honestly made my birthday experience great. Also the Wok Fried Rib Eye in Black Bean and the Stir Fried Shredded Chicken Noodles were absolutely bangers. 10/10 would recommend to go again 🙌🏽

We celebrated my birthday over the weekend and decided to have dinner at lulu wild. The experience at best was surreal. Even though we were a few minutes late for the appointment we were taken to our table right away. The atmosphere was aesthetic and lively. Love the low lights and decor. The service was excellent with both providing high quality service. The food was incredible- this is the first time we had the wontons and were blown away by the taste. They have a wide selection of dim sums, bao and wontons. The mains were also good especially the noodles were one of the best in the city. They are very particular with their allergy specs. We made them aware of our shellfish allergy and after placing our order they came back and told us one of the wontons might have traces of shellfish and helped us choose another starter. Prices were a bit on the higher side but definitely value for money given the quantity and quality. Lulu made my birthday special with a small complimentary dessert. All in all a perfect end to a perfect day at lulu wild. Must visit! Ps. I do feel they should add more options In their mains.

The best sunday weve had in a while. A few weeks ago, I organised over instagram with TBF a group of 23 of us for sunday Roasts. They were able to assist me booking and sent over a pre-order link, all we had to do was turn up. We had our own section by the kitchen and we couldn't fault a thing. Every one of us loved the food and the atmosphere, I think our main server was Joe and he was brilliant. Attention to detail with the allergies, no notes were missed off the pre-booking form, we were all also able to pay individually at the bar. (Family friends were from Ireland so had to do it that way due to their online banking). Our mains were already being started within an hour of us being there so we all ate in very good time (worked amazingly well for the kids!) meaning we had a good couple of hours to socialise with our friends before getting the last train home at 5.30. Ive been here a few times before but our friends hadn't and they said it was the best end to their weekend with us, cant thank you enough and I'll definitely be back with the other half for a more chilled 1-1 roast next time 😂💖

A great spot to catch up with friends, grab a bite, have a meeting, or work. I visited last month for work meetings and was very satisfied with the food. Service can be a bit slow, and we often had to seek out a server or request attention. Our table also wasn’t cleared, so we ended up stacking dishes and glasses to make space. Highlights for me were the wraps, mannish, iced teas, and the Oreo milkshake -all excellent!

The atmosphere at Damascena is truly amazing — such a pleasant and welcoming vibe. Special thanks to Bardia, who is extremely helpful and supportive, always guiding with food choices — I can’t say enough about how great the service is. The food is delicious and very diverse; I’ve tried different wraps, sandwiches, and shawarmas, and really enjoyed them all. Sometimes the dishes are a bit too spicy for my taste, but overall the variety and quality are excellent. The place itself is lovely, the only downside is that the parking space is quite limited.

Beautiful locals in the center of town. You maybe lucky to find parking locally, but there's motorcycling parking right next to it. We were seated quickly with and the atmosphere is lovely inside and out. On good days there is seating outside. There's lots of drinks and food options which was a nice surprise. The menu has a fair number of vegetarian options available. Food arrived quickly and was nicer than I expected. It's a nice place to come to sadly the staff really need a moral boost. I understand it can get busy but a friendly demeanor would make the place that much more welcoming. All in all I'd be looking to pop by again. ENJOY.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the warm smells of their chai spices. We were looking for a late night hot drink and Damascena was the perfect place for a karak chai. I allowed the Waiter (Umar) to give me a recommendation of the house special, and it was one of the greatest meals I’ve had in a while. The cost was appropriate for the location and atmosphere. I absolutely love pizza – it’s one of my favourite meals. This spot is a little off the beaten track and not too far from the Mailbox, but well worth a visit. Popped in for a quick bite as we were staying at the Holiday Inn for a night and this restaurant was a brief 5 minutes walk away. We booked for 5pm and there were 3 of us. Two of us had pizzas and one had nachos. We shared garlic bread a portion of tater tots. Service was swift and server was friendly, we were seated at a long table with benches, only downside was the noise from the tables either side, totally just a me issue though. Food was really good, fresh, hot and huge portions. Cost was reasonable £14 for the pizzas and £12 for nachos. All in all I would recommend a visit.

One of the best pizza we've ever had. Watched it down with a couple if Stable IPA. Very refreshing and crispy. Staff, I couldn't fault, all were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Even thanked us for coming when we left. Would definitely visit again.
Talvir S — Google review
The pizza is tasty, thin and crispy if that's your vibe, and there's a good range of toppings options. The service was a bit chaotic as it was very busy in there! Because you have to order via QR code the food arrives at different times, and because you've paid in advance there's no time to sit and relax after you've finished your meal. Sadly I didn't get the dip I ordered, and wasn't able to ask a waiter about this because they were so rushed off their feet! A shame because if this meal was a little slower and quieter, and if there was a bit more human interaction, I'm sure I would have loved it!

Pizza was incredible. The vegan option was great for my friend. Highly recommend keeping it simple and enjoying the dough/crust. The cider sampler was fun! Great spot for our visit to the city.

I walked in here just a couple of minutes before boarding a train from Birmingham new street and was very much In the mood for pizzas. I was a little worried about how long it might take and they didn’t disappoint. I got the BFC which tasted amazing alongside a lovely drink made by Becky . The thin crust pizzas are just gorgeous and your should definitely try!

A little gem of a casual diner. We plan to use it regularly. Addendum; with apologies to the KG cafe staff, who were truly nice.. Whilst there, why not sidestep into the family run furniture showroom next door? We did , & bought a new armchair (needed 😉 !) at a fair, negotiated price. Thank you Chris & Scott. Top class service & 2 new friends as a bonus. 👌. We'll be back again soon. Tony and wife . P.S Rex, the store 'guard dog' collie, was a special old fella. He loves being patted. See you soon. T

I had my 40th Birthday party here last weekend and it was the most amazing experience. I can’t recommend this wonderful venue and their team enough. The whole process was so easy and smooth, everybody was so nice, helpful and accommodating, the food was lovely and the venue was just perfect. Thank you to Lana for helping me plan the perfect night, from our first meeting over brunch, through to all the help during the party, and to the whole team for the great service on the night too. So many of my guests said how amazing the place was. Honestly, if you’re looking for somewhere to host an event, definitely give them a visit. You won’t be disappointed. x

The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. It has such a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere that I could have happily sat there all day with a book or working on my laptop. It’s a really lovely space. That said, the service was a bit cold and not very welcoming, and the food wasn’t anything special. Still, the setting makes it worth a visit, especially if you’re looking for a quiet spot to unwind or work.

Had high expectations here, but unfortunately the breakfast wasn’t edible. Believe the reviews on here, the decor over the food with this place. Mushrooms tasted burnt, poach egg tasted like rubber and beans seemed microwaved. We arrived near the end of service so think we had the food items that had been sitting on the hot plate from the morning, Coffee was ok but that’s where the joy ended. Walked in as first time visitors, menus were not given when arrived despite questioning how to order. However, the service and mannerism from a staff member was lovely. Such a shame the food didn’t live to the standard as the venue is nice and quirky, however wouldn’t visit again.

We had our wedding at the Kitchen Garden Cafe last month and it was an absolute dream! Lana and the team were absolutely AMAZING and made our day everything we dreamed of. Lana was so helpful and was always there if we needed anything in both the run-up and on the day, she went above and beyond (especially decorating our cheesecake, I was so impressed, it looked incredible) thank you so much, we are so grateful!!! Recommend the Kitchen Garden to anyone who is looking for a quirky, friendly, welcoming, loving and fun place to have their wedding! Katie & Ikra xx
Katie H — Google review
The staff are lovely here and the ambience of the place is fabulous. However, I thought that the vegan breakfast I ordered was really poor value for what I paid - I ordered a black coffee, an extra slice of toast and a vegan brekkie which came to nearly £17 including a 10% tip - which I gave at the time of ordering before I had seen the food. The breakfast was supposed to include ‘wilted spinach’ but actually had a tiny handful of fresh spinach leaves. There was a half, a bordering on cherry-sized, tomato, and a very small amount of mushrooms. Tomatoes and mushrooms are relatively cheap ingredients so I don’t understand why they are so stingy with the portions. On the plus side the vegan sausages were very nice, as were the hash browns. The coffee was great. Looking at other customers’ plates I suspect that the meat eaters get better value for money. I enjoyed the experience but it would be nice if somewhere in South Birmingham could provide a quality English breakfast for plant-based eaters.

Saint Kitchen is a family-owned daytime spot located on the south-eastern edge of St Pauls Square in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. Formerly known as Saint Caffe, it has evolved into a charming cafe under new ownership. The owner, Will, who is also a chef, has combined excellent coffee with delectable homemade baked goods and an eclectic brunch menu that draws inspiration from various cuisines around the world.
I have been coming to Saint Kitchen for over 3 years and this is my space space. My partner and I come here on a Sunday morning, I bring my friends when they come to stay, and I come on my own whenever I have the time. It sounds cheesy but this place is honestly like a warm hug to me. The staff are lovely, the food is absolutely delicious, and the coffee is the best in Birmingham. It’s right next to Saint Paul’s Square which is one of the prettiest spots in Birmingham. You can never get bored of the food because they are always changing up the menu. You know it’s fresh as well because you can see the chefs making it in front of you. I rarely write reviews but am writing this one because this place is just amazing. I love Saint Kitchen so so much ♥️

Saints Kitchen’s food and service just makes me happy. The food is so delicious and nicely presented and the service is always friendly and efficient. My favourite place in Birmingham for a delicious brunch. The menu changes which means there is always something new to try though sometimes I feel sad because the dish I fell in love with previously is no longer available 😄. The sourdough bread is lovely and the hash brown fries currently on the menu is magical in my humble opinion. I also love the 50% dark/50% milk chocolate mocha. Hope the photos do the food justice. I have shared photos from two different visits so the menu was different.

Absolute gem of a place. Lovely location, food is just fantastic, the staff are always friendly. One of my favorite places in town. It also without doubt serves the best coffee. The coffee is something else. Most Saturday mornings in the winter me and my wife visit and have a couple of hours wondering around st pauls and a bite to eat here. Love it

Discovered this place while living in the Jewelery Quarter a few years ago and loved it. Came back today with my fiancé hoping to share a special breakfast. We were not disappointed.I had the avocado on toast with a side of delicious bacon which was good. My other half however chose the pancakes with custard buttercream, peanut butter fudge l, candied peanuts and salted caramel and I had instant food envy. The coffee was spot on and the service was excellent. Definitely a place to check out if you’re in Brum.

On an unfeasibly hot day, we were cheerfully welcomed by the wonderful staff, and sat down for the most incredible salt beef sandwiches with hash brown fries. Fluffy bread, beautifully seasoned fries and tasty fillings. Definitely seek this place out if you're in Birmingham

Felt the warm sense of welcome as soon as we walked in the entrance, being happily greeted by a member of staff. Excellent service. Homemade Chai Latte made my wife very happy. Generous helping of butter, not in a foil packet on the sourdough toast. WONDERFUL strawberry, lime and mint jam.

Wonderful place for a coffee some food and a catch up, not too loud. Gluten free options are amazing, all prepared I'm a separate part of the kitchen! The menu is mainly different types of sandwiches and they've got some delightful and rather bougie hashbrowns too. Everything on the menu can be gluten free. My only constructive criticism is that I wish they did an English breakfast, they've got the bacon, eggs, bread and hash browns on the menu, they could just add beans, ideally a sausage and they'd have it really

Nice spot right in St pauls square. Service is always great and really friendly. Small but nice menu. Food was very nice, I had pan con tomate, with burrata. Ice coffee was fine, small and not enough ice so it was not very cold and what ice there was melted very quickly making it watery. Good value, would go again.

Wow, so pleased we found this amazing place 😍 food was yummy 😋 thank you to the staff, we arrived early and they let us in. Seated in no time. Excellent service explained who everything worked. Well worth every penny

Went on a Sunday and have the Caribbean carvery. Paid £19 I believe. With £5 deposit each when booking online and that paid for drinks. I liked that we had the choice of 2 soft drinks rather than 1, for the alcoholic drinks one was allowed for each person with a paid deposit. We went for the rum punch which normally cost £8.00 something but we got it for £5 with the deposit accounting for it. The rum was definitely in it which was good as you feel you’re getting your moneys worth. I did want it weaker and so the waitress (the only one serving! Well done for that) kindly gave me a glass of orange juice which worked well for me. My partner enjoyed the original strength of his drink though. The food provided a big plate and I like that you could have meat and fish. The food was okay. For example unfortunately the plantain I had was dry. Nonetheless I enjoyed the time there and staff were friendly.

First time visit, read reviews so wasn't expecting the best experience. But it was better than expected food was lovely, filling and tasted authentic. Had some of everything apart from the Yorkshire pudding which I personally didn't think went with it. I was only expecting a soft drink for my deposit but it did cover one glass of wine, larger and rum punch or two soft drinks. On the down side didn't like feeling rushed some of our party unfortunately came late, we were prompted to get our food then told we only had an hour left, so didn't have time to finish our drinks or have a pudding or coffee or relax and let the food go down. But despite this I would try it again.
Jackie L — Google review
The tapas was absolutely delicious and the portions were a good size. I recommend the quesadillas and the cheese plate ( which was huge). The cocktails were 2 for £12 on a Friday or Saturday- we had an Old Cuban which is a cocktail with Prosecco, not too sweet or sickly. Service was quick and friendly. Lovely Latin American music makes for a great atmosphere.

Come here most weeks. Normally a good pint. Had a bad pint from upstairs, which tasted like soap, I understand that happens so we tried to alert the staff. Something might have gone wrong with the line etc… The older lady with short/no hair refused to believe us and told us to go away. It’s quite sad as this was a spot we used to love to visit!
Matt R — Google review
The manager (lady in her 40s/50s with no hair) is so unbelievably rude. I ordered a drink which tasted like soap, she told me to leave and then called me a liar. She ended up calling security all because I had a dodgy pint. Would not recommend and think she should not be hospitality.
Thomas H — Google review
Not at all what I was expecting. Firstly, the rice and peas - what an insult to the Caribbean! - Definitely not authentic - I think I counted about 3 kidney beans in my very bland white rice. Secondly, the single ‘jerk’ chicken wing was nothing to write home about I’m afraid the curry goat was mainly bones. Finally, it was disappointing to see that the portion sizes varied from customer to customer. My small plate of food was definitely not worth £20, I mean 1 chichh my en wing! While some plates had 2 - still a stingy portion, with dessert incurring an extra charge. Calling this a carvery creates a certain expectation to help yourself and be full, not to be served small portions, school dinner style. Not for me.

I am writing to express my disappointment with both the service I received during my visit and the lack of follow-up since. When we first arrived, we were left waiting while staff finished a personal conversation before seating us. There was the option to place an order online via QR code or directly with the server. I placed my order via the QR code system, but was later told by my server that it had not gone through. She reassured me that the pending amount showing in my bank would “bounce back” and advised me to place the order again. Following her advice, I placed the order again. However, after leaving, I discovered the original payment had gone through. I promptly emailed the restaurant with all the necessary information, but received no reply. I made multiple phone calls which went unanswered, and when I finally got through, I was given conflicting information. I was repeatedly told that staff would get back to me, yet no one ever did. It has now been over two weeks, and I have still not received my refund or any clear update—only false promises and vague apologies. This level of service is unacceptable.

Maison Mayci is a charming French bakery and cafe located in Birmingham, offering a delightful selection of pastries, breads, and traditional French dishes. The interior exudes a rustic charm with stone tiled flooring, white walls adorned with gold-framed mirrors and prints. Owned by David and Remi Faveau, Maison Mayci prides itself on serving high-quality French patisserie and pastries alongside a rustic lunch menu featuring daily specials.
I visited Cafe Mayson Maici and tried a few of their treats. I ordered the Apricot Blueberry Tart, and it was delicious! The base was crunchy and lightly sweet, not overpowering, complemented by the tangy blueberry and the texture of the apricot, making this tart perfectly balanced. Then, I tried the Choco Brownies Tart. The base was the same, but the chocolate was rich with a slight bitterness and a touch of milk, making this tart incredibly tasty. I also had the basic croissant, which was flaky, buttery, and absolutely perfect. For drinks, I went with a mochachino, which was just like any classic mochachino. The service was friendly, the space is nice and comfortable, ideal for working on a laptop. The toilet was clean, and the prices were quite affordable. I’ll definitely come back to try more tarts!

We stumbled across this cafe on a Saturday morning and immediately noticed how buzzing it was inside. Though a bit overwhelming, we were able to find a seat quickly. The place presents a classic French vibe, with variety of fresh bread and pastries, hot food and drinks offered. Despite the amount of customers, the food came fairly quickly in great portions. The blueberry tart is delicious and just the right balance of sweetness with a hint of sourness.

Lovely place , been there for years and also went to the smaller one that has closed. I took my friend there for her first time and she loved it , as did I . I’m going there soon to eat and buy some delicious bread from there. Definitely recommend if you want a real taste of France 🇫🇷

A very enjoyable experience whilst my car was failing its MOT just around the corner. I searched for "cafés near me" and picked the one with the highest rating. I was not disappointed. Two perfectly poached eggs on toast, bacon exactly how I ordered it, and a lovely pot of hot tea. The atmosphere was charming, and the surroundings very pleasant. It got quite busy around midday, with a mixture of eat-in customers and people popping in for pastries and bread. I would definitely visit again.

Food: especially sweet products like their tarts and pastries, are excellent. Drink: coffee seems more mediocre compared to earlier this year. Service: Maison Mayci is let down by poor staff attitude. Staff are overtly annoyed by anyone ordering food/ drinks after lunchtime. The distinct feeling is that staff just want to leave, even when they are open for another few hours.

Had a brunch here for a large party. Atmosphere was good and the singers were great, really engaged with the crowd and got everyone involved. But the booking was for quite a few people and we couldn't all fit at the table we were given, the theme music and act didn't start until 20 mins into our hour slot and the way it worked wasnt really explained to us, they were slow to "top up" the jugs and the food came out randomly. But we did enjoy the atmosphere and themed music and made the most of it anyway

Went here for the first time for the bottomless brunch with 4 friends. The service was amazing. Eleanor was our host and she kept the cocktails coming we never once had an empty glass. Any questions we had about the cocktails she was very knowledgeable about. When our food arrived it looked and tasted so good. I'm not a prawn person but even they was amazing. It was a substantial amount of food that left us all satisfied and full. Would definitely recommend and be going back!

A 10/10 time at bottomless brunch. The perfect opportunity to get boozy with mates. We were created by Victoria who brought incredible vibes, smiles and service throughout and a new member of staff, Emily, who couldn’t have been more friendly or attentive. Big up the whole team from yesterday!

We booked for bottomless brunch. Initially the table was not ready til so the bar staff gave us 2 complimentary glasses of Prosecco for the inconvenience. Once we were seated upstairs we then had a lovely waitress called Eleanor who was so lovely, friendly, smiley and had great customer service! She was fast with our drinks. Food was tasty and they catered to our needs. I told them I hate fish so they gave me a gyoza instead which I was super happy with!! The music was good vibes as well. I would definitely come back especially if Eleanor is our server!!! <3 x

We paid for cocktail brunch which was £45 for my daughter's birthday. The food was between 5 people and we only had 2 birdcages with 5 savory small items, which we felt was a poor offering. However, what we had was tasty and the flow of cocktails was definitely worth the price! The waiting staff were fabulous and very accommodating. We were booked into a booth which we felt was very hidden from the rest of the venue. Music was ok and we enjoyed using the photo booth, but apart from that there wasn't much atmosphere. I would visit the venue again as the cocktails were delicious but wouldn't eat there...

Was recently here for my sister’s hen-do bottomless brunch. It was a fabulous evening only made possible by our amazing hostess Charlotte and Lara (I believe) who was making the very generous drinks. Charlotte was so patient and attentive with us as a party of 9, helping me coordinate this hen party, as a frazzled, over-heated organiser lol. We crashed in 30 minutes early to decorate and she was fabulous from the get go. The kitchen were amazing with dietary restrictions and the nibbles were tasty. I think I accidentally at a birdcage to myself 💀💀 (it's 1 per 2 people). The drinks were awesome, with a solid variety, they definitely encouraged us to get our money's worth! Dirty Martini seriously has this process down to an art form. We almost had the place to ourselves (weekday) and it felt like we were never without a drink lol. Everyone had tons of fun and the bride-to-be was glowing. Literally couldn't have had such a successful evening without all the staff that were present the evening of 29/04/25. Thank you so much to you all, I can definitely recommend Dirty Martini Birmingham 💛💛 -Becky

Saint Pauls House is a charming hotel housed in a Georgian building, offering cozy rooms and an inviting restaurant and cocktail bar. The establishment boasts exposed brick and wood accents, creating a warm ambiance for guests to enjoy brunch. The menu features bottomless Bellinis and Bloody Marys, along with delectable dishes such as tomato bruschetta, crispy sticky beef salad, and rigatoni arrabiata. Indulge in sweet treats like fudge brownies and Eaton mess for dessert.
Service was a bit slow because there was a wedding party in last Friday but on previous visits no problem. Nice relaxing place well situated for other eateries and pubs. £15.00 for a standard, nothing fancy Gin & Tonic though, c'mon that's well pricier than other venues glad I don't drink it 😀

I stayed at Saint Pauls House for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. The location is really nice, along a charming square and it has comfortable rooms. The breakfast menu is excellent (loved the granola!). The staff is very friendly and helpful, making you feel at home. Some nights, there is noise from outside, from the bar downstairs or people at the square, but generally not too late and no worse than you would expect at a city square like this. If you are a light sleeper or sleep with the window open, bring earplugs and it is fine. Otherwise very llittle noise from inside the hotel and other rooms, even though it is an old building and there is a restaurant downstairs. I would definitely stay here again on a next visit.

Our party had a long wait for drinks (40 mins) upon arrival for a 90 min bottomless brunch and things were very tense... I raised the issue to the assistant manager and within minutes things were happening. They allowed us to order double drinks and added an hr to the brunch! (Which we didn't honour) This might be frowned upon by the actual manger however as i am a prolific reviewer this was a genius move because I will rate this experience a 5 star rating. The service was excellent and food fantastic 👌 Well done to the lady assistant manager last Saturday 👏

**⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Experience at St Paul's House – Thank You, Victor & The Piano Man!** We had the most wonderful time at St Paul's House last Saturday! A huge thank you to **Victor**, who was so kind and made our visit extra special by giving my young daughter free fruit – such a sweet and thoughtful gesture that truly brightened her day. And let’s not forget the **incredible piano man** who played between **2pm and 4pm** – he was absolutely amazing! The music created such a lovely, relaxing atmosphere, and my little one was completely mesmerized. St Paul's House is clearly a place that cares about its guests, offering not just great food and service but also those little touches of warmth that make all the difference. We’ll definitely be back! **Highly recommend** – thank you again, Victor and the team! 👏🎶🍏

High 3 at that but a few things didn’t help. The windows being thin let a lot of noise in from the bar of the hotel and neighbouring bars on the same block. The windows also had a large crack. The room was spacious and the bathroom was nice. However, the main rooms decor was quite uninspired and tired. Also the bed and pillows were quite firm affecting sleep. The location was very nice situated just outside the heart of the city and within a nice block with plenty of attractive bars, coffee shops and the like very nearby. Definitely worth considering for a trip but it depends on what you want/expect from your stay, if you’re expecting an early night maybe weigh up your options

This was the third time we visited for bottomless brunch. It is one of the best we’ve had and continues to be good quality food in nice surrounding. A good choice of beer as well if you like Cruzcampo. Abbie was our server and was polite and courteous throughout and attended to our every request.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely time at St. Paul’s House. The vibe was calm, clean, and relaxing. Huge thanks to Victor (the bartender)so friendly and polite, he truly made our day! Shivali, our server, was incredibly kind and generous. Ben(supervisor) was so polite and made sure we were looked after. Also, compliments to Chef Rohit the food was fantastic. The Ivy Temple Row offers a sophisticated dining experience with a mix of brasserie classics and Asian-inspired dishes. The restaurant overlooks St Phillip's Cathedral and features luxurious decor, including bird-themed printed wallpaper, golden light fixtures, and rich burnt orange booths. Guests can enjoy the 19.
Super Restaurant truly lives up to its name! The Ivy is a class!!! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The menu offers a perfect balance of classic brunch favorites and creative twists -perfectly poached eggs, and Salomon Avocado toast that’s as photogenic as it is delicious. The service is quick and friendly, and the staff especially Sylvia beautiful polish lady go out of her way to make us feel welcome. The ambiance strikes a great balance between cozy and modern, little posh, making it ideal for weekend catch-ups.

I travelled from Leicester to try The Ivy after hearing so much about it, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The place looks great, but the service felt rushed, our mains came out quickly after starters, which made it hard to relax and catch up with my friend. There wasn’t much variety on the menu, and while the food was decent and the drinks were okay, nothing really stood out. Staff were polite, but not as polished as I’d expected. Overall, a nice spot, but not quite a five-star experience.
REENA K — Google review
As ever the Ivy maintains its most fantastic ambience and classy service. Our food was absolutely amazing! Presentation, colour and taste was just perfect! Compliments to both the chefs and the front of house staff for their most professional and skilled efforts. I must comment on the wine mark up! We ordered a bottle of Chablis with our meal which, although a nice accompaniment, was charged at around £76. This wine can be purchased in most wine outlets for around £23! Based on how amazing the food was, I personally would rather pay more for my food than feel mugged by an overly inflated wine menu! That said, if you fancy feeling like the most special people on the planet for a cpl of hours, the staff (all of them from the front door and back) have it absolutely nailed! Thank you so very much everyone especially Klaudia. 👌😁
Andy B — Google review
Excellent service, food and environment! We both decided for the little known Summer at the Ivy set menu - excellent value for money with a glass of champagne included. My crispy duck salad was excellent, as was my minute steak. The deserts were both great, but the white chocolate vanilla cheesecake with mango sorbet was the best. Would recommend the visit - although with some remarks: the Sunday roast, which cost almost the same as the 3-course menu, looked sad and overcooked. Other menu items also seemed exorbitant expensive. Drinks have London prices (a 330ml beer costs £6.5). Is it worth going? Yes. Are the prices on the menu consonant with the experience? Not sure, unless you know what to chose.
Giovanni B — Google review
Always decent food and great service. Perfect for almost any occasion. They don’t allow decorations for celebratory events, so just bear that in mind if you’re planning something special.
Hugh P — Google review
I have to say the food was disappointing. I wanted to order the soufflé which wasn’t available so we took the waiters suggestion of their Asian salad which had the tender stem broccoli and salad was fine overall. However I would expect them to offer another starter as my main also had the same tender stem broccoli! My husband ordered the avocado dip which hardly had any avocado at all. It tasted more like a coconut/ yogurt based dip very similar to a dosa chutney! His main dish was an overcooked chicken. The only saviour was the creme brulee which was absolutely flawless. The staff were polite and the decor was beautiful. I had heard very good things about the restaurant and had high expectations but sadly won’t be going back due to the basic faults in the food especially given the price!
Lavanya P — Google review
A lovley restaurant with nice decor and great location. We really enjoyed our starters and desserts (the duck salad and the cheese souffle were both incredible!) however our main course meals were average in comparison and not of the quality we would expect for the price paid. We've had better at cheap pubs. The birthday dessert was a lovely surprise and tasted great although i wish there had been some mention of it before we ordered desserts ourselves as quite a bit of it ended up going to waste as we couldn't manage it on top of the 3 courses we'd already eaten, this is a high quality problem of course :) but i hate to see things going to waste! Service was good overall, we appreciated the call a few days before to talk through the food allergies mentioned on our booking, and in general experienced good service with friendly welcoming staff although it was difficult to get staff attention to order more drinks when our glasses were empty, the cocktails were however delicious. Overall, we enjoyed the experience but probably wouldn't return as feel its quite overpriced for the standard of food/service we received and there is room for a little improvement overall on the offering here.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Birmingham on Temple Street, The Botanist is a captivating gastropub that seamlessly blends a rustic charm with a botanical garden ambiance. Known for its iconic hanging kebabs, this delightful eatery has recently introduced festive dishes like orange and cranberry glazed turkey served with all the trimmings. Diners can also indulge in hearty options such as turkey pie topped with a giant pig in a blanket or share a gooey camembert stuffed sourdough loaf.
We came today for a Sunday Roast after a party night. AMAZING! Nice portions, good food quality. Gravy was handmade and the meat was perfectly cooked (I had pork and it was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside) Vinny has been so kind to us, checking if everything was alright and being so fast on any command needed :)

We LOVED our dinner at the Botanist and highly recommend it. First of all, the cauliflower is the best of our lives! The halloumi fries and gambas were also really good. The Peri Peri chicken was so good and dang those veggies were perfect too. We loved every drink esp the porn star martini and the lavender lemon Collins. The wait and bar staff were amazing. It was such a wonderful experience!

Stopped here for dinner and drinks after a day out in the city. The decor is unique and gives the place a lively atmosphere. Food was good, particularly the hanging kebabs which are fun and filling. Cocktails were creative and well presented. It does get noisy in the evening, but that is part of the vibe.

Came in at a very early and quiet time of day which probably didn't do it justice, as I can imagine it's probably a lot livelier as the day goes on. It was still ok in there, very nicely done up inside. I didn't have anything to eat so can't comment on the food, just had a cocktail and a beer which were both fine.

I've been to the other branch in Birmingham and loved it, so I thought I'd try this one as its alot more central location ( note gave the other branch 5/5) Foods 10/10 just like the other site, the only thing that lets this branch down is the staff. 1 out of the 3 staff who dealt with us was really good! The other two were just not very friendly.... It's worth going just for the food! But I would recommend just going to the other branch ( about 20 minutes away )

Great place with amazing atmosphere, friendly service, and fantastic food! Had a lonely dinner experience! The place is very cosy, has a great atmosphere with all the lovely decoration. It's quite big - there are tables outside, bar area, few dining rooms inside and lavatories on the lower ground floor. We were greeted at the door and asked if we had a booking, we didn't but still managed to get a table. It was Thursday night, so it wasn't that busy. The service was very friendly and fast. The food menu has interesting dishes, a variety of vegetarian options, and their famous kebabs. I definitely recommend the chicken one. It's served either with chips, couscous, or coconut rice. I went with chips, and they were so crispy. The kebab was also delicious. There is a variety of drinks as well, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. I really liked the alcohol-free Mind mojito. The deserts are out of this world! I had the most amazing Orea chocolate cookie dough! The prices are also reasonable. It was a great experience, and I definitely recommend this place!

3.5 The place is clean and nice. Their menu is simple and best value for money are their set menus. Food was good. The staff paid great attention to the person with allergies which is good. The cocktails were tasty tho we asked if the lava cocktail was looking like a lava lamp. Which was confirmed, but then came a juice looking drink because they had run out of the lava element. If you knew we ordered it for that, why not telling us? Anyway, overall good place but not outstanding in any way.

Very disappointing experience. Our first visit to this venue, server sat us down and I asked for something special as it was my wife’s birthday. Server recommended the Glitterbomb for her as he said it’s pretty cool in a test tube and smoking. For me, I ordered a Smokey Old-Fashioned. With four staff around you think this would have been quite quick to make. Server came over with the bill and thrust the card reader towards me. After paying and checking the bill saw that there is a charity payment of £1 and 10% (discretionary) service charge added. Not very appropriate if it’s just charged to your card before you’ve even seen the bill. But put that aside and who doesn’t like to support a charity and give good service a deserved tip! I paid for the drinks at 20:19. At 20:25 the same server asked if we’d ordered food! I said no but we’d like our drinks. My wife’s drink was finally made and put onto the side of the bar at 20:32 where we watched the smoke rise out of the ‘test tube’! And watched, and watched. Finally, when my drink was made at 20:36 and put on the side, the drinks were served but by that time there was nothing left to be seen of the special glitterbomb smoke spectacular! And for £12.50, you’d expect some fireworks. Staff on their phones and just disinterested made it a very poor experience. Needless to say we won’t return.

The chain prides itself on providing authentic Italian flavors and has expanded its menu to cater to vegans and vegetarians.
I had a lovely experience at Bella Italia! The lasagna was absolutely delicious rich and full of flavour. I also had the brownie sundae for dessert, and it was just as delicious. The woman who greeted and seated us was so welcoming and kind, which made the whole visit feel even more special. Great food, great service, and a really warm atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The staff were absolutely lovely and so friendly, which really made our experience special. We chose this restaurant for my daughter’s 18th because the menu offered great vegan options, especially the vegan cookie dough, which she was really looking forward to as most places only offer fruit or vegan ice cream. Unfortunately, the cookie dough wasn’t available, so she had to settle for the vegan ice cream instead. It was still nice for her, but a little disappointing as that was one of the main reasons we booked here for her big day. That said, everything else was fantastic! The atmosphere was amazing, the team were so polite, helpful, and welcoming, and the meals were hot, tasty, and served quickly. The drinks were perfect too. Overall, we had a great time and would highly recommend this place for the wonderful staff and great service.

Food was lovely, great taste, thank you to the chefs. Staff very friendly, helpful, chatty, with a smile. It was a little uncomfortable to eat as it was a hot day June 25th tables full, it was hot inside, could of done with some air conditioning, lots of iced water jugs flowing on the tables.

Me and my partner had a really positive and lovely experience at Bella Italia Birmingham today. We had two amazing waiters (Amy and Mark) who were very attentive, engaging and kind. We will definitely return. The spicy sausage pasta & pepperoni pizza was fab!

Ate here yesterday for lunch, felt really bad as we'd just got off the train and we were all tired and hungry so we were pretty quiet and awkward but the staff remained really sweet and nice. Food wise It's your typical chain price to quality you'd expect. I had the Spicy sausage pasta and all it really was, was literally just chilli cream and sausage mixed in with rigatoni for almost £17 like damn put half a stock cube in there or something. It was above okay but not great, I can appreciate it having fresh chilli, I did eat it all so there's a plus. My friend really did not enjoy his burger as it was so so greasy like plate wet, dripping kinda greasy and they put sauce on both buns causing the burger to constantly slide around and fall apart but my other friend seemed to enjoy her pizza. Obviously the pasta recipe is nothing to do with staff they prepare the recipes they're told to prepare by the chain but I just think it's another overpriced meh Italian place like prezzo.

Didn’t have the best experience here, waited 40 minutes between starter and mains (it was not busy and had asked for them together) we also ordered a desert but ended up cancelling due to the poor time management and service. The bolognaise was just pasta and water with a bit of meat - ended up leaving hungry because it was just so bland and inedible. mentioned this to our waiter (andre i think his name was) and he didn’t apologise or compensate us in anyway. instead blank stared at us for 20 seconds and came with an excuse that “the kitchen didn’t hear me ask for your mains”. There was a table that came in 5 minutes after us and had finished their dessert before we received our mains. he was more interested in cleaning and closing down the restaurant than serving customers - the restaurant didn’t close for another 1hour 30minutes. all around just very bad service from our server andre who i think was also the manager. as someone who works in a kitchen myself i am disappointed in this establishment.

Won’t be back, we were seated at the back of the restaurant, to be greeted with a sticky table and filthy glasses on the table…. Then we asked for a substitute for one of the items on a breakfast, as didn’t want mushrooms, to be told ‘No’! Food was ok, my ginger beer didn’t have much flavour. There’s a lot of choice for places to eat in Birmingham, this place needs to do better, in my view.

Went to this restaurant because I signed up for StoriBoard. It’s a platform that connects strangers together and you meet new people for the first time in a restaurant, interesting experience. So Bill’s, in terms of the food I’ve definitely had way better food. The atmosphere is chilled and calm and the crowd is decent too. I ordered the Sea Bass dish with Couscous, because I wanted a healthy option. If I ever visit there again, I’d try something else but I wasn’t the only one in the group that had something negative to say about the food tbh. Decent food but like I said I’ve had way better food dining in Bull Ring. The Pomegranate drink was okay.

This place automatically adds on a 12.5% tip to your bill and the only way to remove it is to ask a member of staff. Tips are supposed to be earned, not something a customer is strong-armed into. Also, the eggs benedict has something spicy added on top which is NOT mentioned on the menu so be warned.

I visited Bill’s this morning for breakfast and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The restaurant has such a refined and stylish atmosphere – bright, welcoming, and with that touch of elegance that makes it feel special even early in the day. The breakfast itself was superb. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. The ingredients were clearly of excellent quality, and the flavours really stood out – a perfect balance of hearty and refined. It’s rare to find a breakfast that feels this thoughtfully prepared. The service was exceptional. The team were friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. A particular mention must go to Adrian, who provided outstanding service. He was professional, warm, and went out of his way to ensure everything was just right, which made the visit all the more memorable. Overall, Bill’s delivered a breakfast that was both luxurious and inviting. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to start their day with excellent food, a lovely atmosphere, and service that genuinely stands out.

She was super helpful and kept checking we were all happy and that we had multiple drinks ! Thank you so much Bella you were amazing 10/10 !

Popped by for a quick lunch and had a great meal here! Got their lunch promo which includes a main and a drink for £10. The bacon cheeseburger was juicy and filling while the fries were crisp and salted just right. Overall a great value meal

We came all the way from Wales for a night out in Birmingham before the Lewis Capaldi show. The food and cocktails were excellent, and our personal waiter was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, the overall vibe of the place let us down. It was hard to ignore how unhappy the rest of the staff seemed — it genuinely felt like they didn’t want to be there, which dulled what should have been a lively, fun evening. Such a shame, because with amazing food, great drinks, and a brilliant waiter, this could have been a perfect night out. A little warmth and friendliness from the team would have made all the difference. Other customers we spoke with felt the same — a simple smile and welcoming attitude goes a long way.

Attended a brunch on the 12th July, with work friends (9 of us) It was such a lovely & lively atmosphere. Bella was amazing so friendly & kind her service was 10 out of 10 such a nice young lady, who made our time there even more enjoyable. Thanks Bella.

Came here for a meal with Family on a Monday night it was very busy which was unexpected for a Monday night turned out that an event was on at the local arena so always worth checking. The staff did find us a table and were friendly. The food did take a while but it was busy the food was good we had an issue with one of the meals the chicken was not cooked and we sent this back they did fix this and made an fresh dish. I would go back again but maybe when its not a busy.

Steak house
Gaucho Birmingham is a restaurant in England that offers a diverse range of cuisine options, including various international influences such as Latin American, Italian, and Japanese. Despite being known for its steak, the restaurant also celebrates events like pancake day with unique pancake recipes created by their head chefs. Additionally, Gaucho welcomes dogs in their UK restaurants during specific hours, allowing patrons to enjoy Argentinian steaks accompanied by their furry companions.
My girlfriend brought me here for my birthday and I couldn’t have been more happier. The service was brilliant, as soon as we walked in, they took care of straight away. They showed us the different types of steak and recommended us, telling us the background of Argentina explaining how they get their steaks and it was very interesting as I’m a steak lover. The food was 10/10, it was brilliant filled with different flavours and cooked to perfection. I’ve never had a steak as good as gauchos, the atmosphere was authentic and aesthetic, it just makes it so much better. The manager George was great along side his colleague Raphael were brilliant during the evening, they took care of us and made my birthday dinner special. Will definitely be back and highly recommend to everyone and steak lovers. Great work!

Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome that instantly set the tone for the evening. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel like valued guests. The food was exceptional, every bite was cooked to perfection. The steak was one of the best I've ever had, tender, juicy, and full of flavour, the sides and starter was just as impressive. The atmosphere in the restaurant was spot-on, very relaxed, stylish, and ideal for a night out. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into creating a place where people feel comfortable and well looked after. Highly recommend this place to any steak lover (or food lover in general). I’ll definitely be coming back😊 🥩

We had a fantastic time celebrating a birthday, and I can't thank George and Raffaele enough for making it so special! The food and drinks were top-notch, and the atmosphere was just perfect. The service was spot-on too; everyone was friendly and attentive, which really enhanced our experience. The knowledge was also amazing, and we thank everyone for serving us with the utmost respect! We'll definitely be back for another visit soon!

We really enjoyed our visit on Friday. Cleibe was really attentive, friendly and helpful.. really great lad. The crispy prawn starters were wonderful...a great blend of spicy, mint and lime worked really well. And with the rump steak was excellent value for money. many thanks. We will be back

Visited for dinner today with my fiancée for her birthday, and it was bloody amazing. The food was very tasty - I had the prawns for the starter and rump steak for the main course and it was very delicious, cooked to perfection. There was a big selection of drinks, which were also very tasty, and the service was amazing. Thank you Tia for being so welcoming, kind and friendly, you really made it special for us. Will definitely recommend, thank you!

The weekday lunch menu is an incredibly good deal for the quality and service at Gaucho. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the allergens on each menu item, and was accommodating of the dietary requirements in our group. Wide selection of wines, which again the waiter was able to talk us through in detail.
Archie — Google review
Fabulous steak, as you might imagine. Equally the starters were freshly prepared and delicious. My tuna tartare melted in the mouth, although I would have preferred less of the dressing applied to it. My only complaint is that the wine list starts at £40 per bottle for a very average Argentinian malbec
Bill A — Google review
I just happened to be walking past Gaucho and I only went in because of the lunch set menu sign outside. It was a Wednesday lunch time, so the place was quiet. Adriano looked after me very well. The prawn chicharron starter was very nice. The steak was lovely and the chips were ok. The rum-based pecan old fashioned was very nice.

Additionally, it's known for its cocktail bars in the city center, offering a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with a stylish vibe reminiscent of a gentleman's club.
Me and my work colleagues last minute decided to have a bite to eat at the Cosey Club. The gentleman who greeted us was so kind and courteous and had us table just like that (it was already very busy), so we appreciated you fitting in a large group at no notice. We had a mix of burgers and sharers with a good few cocktails, and I have to say the food was absolutely delicious. You must try the cauliflower wings 😍 service was quick, friendly and perfect. Thank you for your hospitality! We can’t wait to come back.

The best fish fingers in a brioche bun I've had in a while. Prices reasonable, staff lovely. Busy on a Saturday afternoon at Easter. Love the decor and ambience of Cosy Clubs. Bit of a trek to the ladies toilets down a long flight of stairs is the one downside, but one disabled/baby changing toilet is available on the the ground floor.

Attended on a Sunday morning for pancakes & bacon. The bacon was crispy and pancakes moist with maple syrup. The lady who attended too is, I didn’t get her name but she was the sweetest! So attentive and welcoming. Made us feel right at home when we were feeling a little delicate.

The food was cooked beautifully — the scrambled eggs were creamy and rich, the halloumi perfectly golden, the hash browns crisp, and the toast warm and fresh. Every bite was spot on. SIAMAIS is a trendy Thai restaurant and cocktail bar with a lively atmosphere. On weekends, it's known for its popular bottomless brunch offering two courses and unlimited drinks. The menu features dishes like crispy duck salad, massaman curry, lemon ginger cheesecake, and Thai sticky rice with mango sorbet. The restaurant also serves eye-catching cocktails alongside authentic Thai cuisine such as Tom Yum soup, Thai fish cakes, stir-fried lobster, and more.
We recently dined at Siamais restaurant and had a truly wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The atmosphere was vibrant and stylish, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. A special mention goes to our waiter, Pedro, who made our visit even more memorable. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful when it came to recommending dishes and drinks. His warm personality and excellent service added so much to our overall experience. We were thoroughly impressed and will definitely be coming back again and again. Highly recommended!

Went here for food on a Sunday afternoon, was fairly quiet at this time but service from out host was very good. Food was very tasty and presented very well, their was a lot of different options on the menu as well. The brunch here doesn't offer much in terms of cocktails so I wouldn't suggest this. But this is a lovely setting to go to as a nice date night with a partner & is located near a load of nice bars in Brindley place. The only real problem was it was pretty pricey but that is birmingham I suppose. Definitely recommend this place.

We had an early dinner before heading to Cench’s concert. The food was delicious, and the service from the waitresses was excellent. The bill included a service charge, but it was worth it for the great service. *P.S. The toilet was very clean, can’t go wrong with a clean restroom when it comes to restaurant hygiene.

The aesthetics look good. Was quiet when went in but didn’t mind it as it was lunch. The food was okay but the sauces where the star if show. I’m particular about noodles, they were good but not my cup of tea as more of a thick noodle type but that’s on me as thought try thinner noodles.

Dishoom Birmingham is located in a picturesque spot with outdoor tables facing the Town Hall, Chamberlain Memorial fountain, and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. The restaurant offers delicious Indian fare from morning naans to evening 'Ruby Murrays'. It is part of a national chain that started in 2010 and has become an iconic name with locations across the UK.
Visited midday in the middle of the week. Quieter as expected, really good ambience and the tables were distant for privacy. It was really comfortable. Food was served hot, quickly and no fuss. Menu is easy to understand, the server made a great effort in explaining and recommending various items on the menu. Every dish was flavourful. Good portion sizes, with great vegetarian selections as well. Dishoom is consistent in its standard throughout all its restaurants in England, and never fails to impress on every visit.

My first time here and certainly wont be my last. From the moment we entered we couldn't fault the service, we were given a lovely table with plenty of room. Our server Joni could not have been more helpful explaining the menu and certain dishes what goes with what etc. she could not do enough to help. The food was amazing and so well cooked, fragrant and tasty. The dessert recommended by Joni was to die for absolutely gorgeous

Indian food at it's best in my opinion. Was given the Dishoom book for a gift and have made so many dishes, so we just had to try the restaurant. The staff were amazing, efficient and knowledgeable, recommending and helping us choose by describing everything. Food intolerances were easily catered for. Food was typically glorious. Atmosphere was vibrant, busy and great to see it so busy. Definitely recommended.

World renowned Dishoom is loved by all. Hence I was so pleasantly surprised when I realised they opened a branch in Birmingham and that too at an amazing location with the views of the Birmingham Council square. We booked a table of four for lunch on the auspicious day of Rakhi and meet up with my sister. At the entrance the place was heaving with a bit of queue. The two ladies who were Hosting had a pleasant surprise and I told them that I have a reservation and was promptly brought to a round table. I would have preferred a corner table or a sofa table as it was in the middle of the gangway. It was quite busy for the afternoon. I was asked if I wanted to order and I told the lovely waiter that i am waiting for my sister. Once we were settled we ordered our meals and drinks. My meal of Chole Bhature was amazing but my sisters could have been better. Drinks and food came on time. Toilets were clean and easy to find. One of the waiters who served us was outstanding with service, smiling and happy and ready to help even when it was so busy. Will visit again.

Five Stars for Ryan at Dishoom Birmingham! We had lunch at Dishoom Birmingham yesterday and were absolutely blown away by the service — especially from our server, Ryan. From the moment we sat down, he made us feel genuinely welcome and looked after us with such warmth and attention. The food, as always, was outstanding — but it was Ryan’s thoughtful service and great energy that made our visit truly memorable. Thank you, Ryan, for making our lunch so lovely — we’ll definitely be asking for you next time we come! 💫

I went to Dishoom yesterday and we had a 50 minute wait time before we got our table since we were a walkin. Initially I thought it’s going to be really boring but from the moment we were seated there, it was a really captivating and nostalgic atmosphere being from Bombay myself. The concept behind the Irani Cafe has been brought to life and everyone working there has a certain type of enthusiasm that keep the place so lively. A special shoutout to Rohan for serving us yesterday evening and give us a spectacular evening to enjoy. It was truly evening to talk to him and we were elated to see the kind of service that was offered to us. Lastly, another special shoutout to all the chefs for serving the best food period. Definitely took me back to Bombay and now I know a place that will definitely give the taste of back home!

Went to Dishoom Birmingham for my birthday last week. The experience was great. The staff were so lovely. Shoutout to our waiter Szymon, he was really nice! Ordered 5 dishes to share which was the right amount of food for two of us. Had the chicken tikka, gunpowder potatoes, paneer curry, rice, and veggie samosas. I highly recommend the paneer curry, 10/10. Also lovely cocktails! The atmosphere was great for a Monday evening, always busy. But not too loud that you cannot hear yourself speaking. Staff were accommodating and they gave me a free desert with a candle for my birthday. This was a great little touch which I really appreciated. Will be going back again and definitely recommend to anyone who loves Indian food.

Been here a few times now and this is the worst one I've been...Invited a few friends and for some it was their first time. Not a very good experience for them and me. The DJ was brilliant but as soon as the tributes (I say that loosely) came on then it went downhill...Bryan Adams was alright although it was advertised as coming on at 5pm and came on at 4pm! Then it was advertised to be Wham...followed by Madonna and Duran Duran...then system 80s....So when wham came on it was part of system 80s! I said to my friends that this looks like it's going to be system 80s doing all the so called tributes and so it was....extremely disappointed with this...and I'm afraid to me they didn't sound the best at all...Same time last year here I saw 6 or 7 different tributes and it was brilliant day...Its a shame coz it's a great place and the vibe is tremendous...but when ur paying £20+ and £7.50 a pint thinking ur going to see a few artists and end up seeing 1 isn't good. It wouldn't have been as bad if anyone could of let us know if the tributes couldn't perform. But in my opinion it was definitely miss sold...Hopefully next time we will see separate tributes and if not we will get told and maybe a reason why. All I can do is apologise to me friends for a awful experience. Let's hope lunar springs and magic disco do the same.

Boston tea party is a medium sized chain of coffee shops in the midlands and the south west of England, from previous visits at their branches down in Bristol I expected the coffee to be good. I paid the Solihull branch of Boston tea party a visit on the 19th of September 2025. I chose to buy a takeaway flat white, whoever reads this review please note that Boston tea party have banned use of disposable takeaway cups 4 several years now, they do have reusable takeaway cups there for a fee, I anticipated this so the photograph of a flat white in this review is in my own reusable takeaway cup. They still serve a bespoke blend from @extractcoffee and it still tastes the same as it did the last time I paid a visit in 2017! A staff member said that I was in for a treat, I said I'll be the judge of that! And the judgement is it was quite good!

I visited Boston Tea Party recently and ordered The Boss Breakfast — which was delicious — but what really made my visit stand out was the incredible service from Alec. From the moment I walked in, he was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that I had a great experience. Alec struck the perfect balance between being professional and personable — checking in at just the right times, making sure everything was spot on, and even having a great sense of humor that made the morning brighter. You can tell he takes pride in what he does, and it honestly made all the difference. The food was great, but Alec’s service is what will bring me back. Wow!...wanted a hot drink and a sit down this morning. Firstly, I got the 'look' from toe to top, which made me feel I had walked into the wrong place.... I was asked to choose a place to sit. I sat, decided what I fancied and waited. Over hearing several different conversations, being looked at, etc. Not once did they say are you ready to order, we do it at the till now. So eventually I went up and said do I have to come up and order now, I thought you came to the table. No not done that for ages and you were told. Well, I'm not daft or hard of hearing and if that was the case I would of gladly approached the till. Well, I left. Just so very rude and hugely lacking in attention to detail with regards to customers, especially as there was only a handful of customers. Clearly would rather discuss fake eyelashes.. How sad in such a lovely village.

Really nice little bar/restaurant in town. Has a personal feel to it, some great beers on tap and in cans. Food is fresh and amazing. Service is great. Eat inside or experience all the madness that Birmingham has to offer outside!

really cool place, lovely interior and lots of space so never waited for a table. Good food and drinks too, albeit a little expensive but kind of expected for the uniqueness. would come again and again. bar staff super friendly too and encourage you to taste the more creative drinks before you buy 👍🏻

Food was delicious! Partner hard hearty English and I had the Benedict bagel, was lovely. Table was a little small for two people but overall would I go again? Yes!

Cherry Reds is a hidden gem! Lovely traditional Cafe Bar with nice decor and a cosy atmosphere. Menu selection is extensive and includes a wide variety of vegan/vegetarian options alongside traditional English food and drinks. The Diddy Breakfast was excellent quality and tasted delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. An added bonus is the selection of cask and keg ales available. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Birmingham!

Amazing independent cafe, perfect Sunday breakfast / brunch. Great vegan options! Even had vegan American style pancakes! Will definitely be back, and really friendly staff.

This is my favourite cafe in Birmingham. It is always friendly, is so handy for New Street Station and serves good coffee and food. There is always something of interest on the walls. There are good veggie options. If you're in Birmingham then visit.

Lovely cafe open until late. We got a brew and cake before the theatre. Brew delicious, carrot cake ok, cream not cream cheese

The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with warm lighting and comfortable seating that made it perfect for both catching up with friends or working solo. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. The menu offered a great variety of options, from freshly brewed coffee to delicious pastries and hearty brunch dishes. I tried their avocado toast and a latte, both of which were absolutely delightful—the toast was perfectly seasoned, and the coffee was rich and smooth. The prices were reasonable for the quality, and the portion sizes were just right.

Situated in the heart of Birmingham's historic Canal area, The Gin Vault is a charming independent bar and eatery catering to gin enthusiasts. Boasting an impressive selection of over 350 gins, this cozy establishment offers a relaxed atmosphere and an extensive tapas menu for patrons to enjoy. With its rustic decor complementing the canal setting, it's a popular choice for dates or casual outings. The bar is known for its eclectic drink selection, delectable tapas, and warm ambiance.
The entire place is relaxed and feels like a little home away from home and me and my partner loved it we asked for two gins kindly told they did not have them so we asked for recommendations and we both were not dissatisfied with the outcome of this. Both gins paired with there tonic were perfect and loved by both. For two drinks and there pair only paid £15 which is great.

Looked amazing. The menu was great, and there were only two other customers, so I thought it’d be perfect. But when I went to order a drink, I ended up waiting ages while the only member of staff there was too busy yapping away on the phone to even acknowledge me. How hard is it to take two seconds to acknowledge someone? I had money to spend and an evening planned there, but thanks to your staff’s complete lack of interest, I left and took my business next door. I’ve walked past countless times wanting to try it out, but after tonight, I’ll keep walking right by.

Firstly I hope when you visit here Shreya is your waitress, she's a absolute GEM and her knowledge of the gins was amazing. Always smiling and offering assistance, her customer service was 10/10. I attended here for a friend's bday and we paid £19 for 2 double gins with mixer and 3 tapas. The tapas are substantial as are the gin measures. I highly recommend the Orange and Blackcurrant Tanqueray. In all honesty I'm not a huge gin fan, but these were delicious and Shreya suggested the tonic flavour to go with them. If you're looking for a quirky, independent to spend an evening looking no further.

Lovely setting and liked the decor. Barman was the most disinterested chap I've seen working in a bar. I would have stayed for more than one drink but even taking my order seemed too much effort for the poor chap dealing with a whole three customers. I sat by the window to look at the canal but moved because all I could hear was his weird Candy Crush game on full blast followed by what I presume was only fans from the ooh ooh oohing at high octaves. Won't be back. Prices were daft too.

Absolutely brilliant bottomless brunch! I'd say the best brunch we have had in Birmingham so far. Jamie was brilliant throughout, relentless with drinks which were amazing and the food was perfect. Thank you, we will be back. 👍👍👍

Great gin bar. At the moment the bar is revamping their drinks menu so only have a small range of gins. The menu is down from 38 pages to 2 . Do not know when the new menu will be in place.

Did bottomless brunch yesterday. Have done this here several times but things have changed drastically. Cocktails were awful! The Bramble was served in one of those tiny tumblers you get to help yourself to water and was so full of lemon I had immediate indigestion and sent it back. They are usually served in large heavy based tumblers. The Bees knees just tasted of orange juice. My friend had about 4 gins and said she felt as though they were just flavoured tonic waters. We did not go to get drunk but to have a few nice cocktails. Our waitress got told off in front of us (and it was not her fault). We thought this unprofessional and awkward. She was very upset. The food was nice and hot. I would have the fried chicken next time as the grilled chicken was gone in one mouthful. It smelt a bit of vomit and we did notice a staff member going through periodically discreetly spraying air freshener. As I said we came here as it is usually very good but don’t think we will be returning.

The Blue Piano is a charming family-owned guest house located in an old Edwardian building in Edgbaston. This off-the-beaten-track gem offers 10 individually designed guest rooms, a Southeast Asian restaurant serving dishes from Singapore, Cambodia, and Malaysia, and a popular live-music bar with a blue piano as its centerpiece. The venue hosts diverse live music performances every Friday night and features a small garden for guests to enjoy.
An Unforgettable Night of Jazz at The Blue Piano – Friday, 21st March 2025 I had the absolute pleasure of visiting The Blue Piano in Edgbaston, and what an evening it was! I made the trip especially to see the incredibly talented Dr Stephen Tromans perform, and he did not disappoint. From the moment he and the other musicians took the stage, the energy in the room was electric. The music was nothing short of breathtaking—rich, soulful, and deeply moving. I found myself listening with my eyes closed, heart open, completely lost in the magic unfolding before me. Stephen Tromans plays with such passion and skill; his connection to the music is something truly special. I was absolutely blown away. The atmosphere at The Blue Piano only enhanced the experience. It’s an intimate and vibrant venue, perfect for live jazz. The warmth of the crowd, the outstanding musicianship, and the sheer beauty of the music made it an evening to remember. The venue’s commitment to showcasing top-quality jazz acts really sets it apart, making it a must-visit for any jazz lover. I travelled quite a distance just to see Stephen Tromans perform, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. His presence brought something truly special to the venue, and it was clear I wasn’t the only one who felt that way. I really hope The Blue Piano books him again soon—he and the other musicians created an unforgettable experience, and I know many would love the chance to experience it again. If you love live jazz in a welcoming and atmospheric setting, The Blue Piano is the place to be. I can’t wait to return for another fantastic evening of music!

We went to see a band outside, and half an hour prior, the heavens opened and it poured down with rain. The staff were absolutely brilliant, they couldn't do enough to help, wiping tables and chairs making sure everyone was as comfortable as possible, even supplying blankets towards the end of the night. Really great service 👏 👍 👌

I don't know where to start...I can only presume that any positive reviews or ratings of these premises must be based on the restaurant rather than the rooms. Everything in this room was filthy. There was evidence of vermin, cockroach traps under the bed, broken sink, torn curtains, the windows do not shut. Smashed windows seen on the outside of the building. The only evidence that this was the same property as the one advertised on the website was the blue piano in the entrance. No staff available after 9pm. Absolutely no way is this a 3 star property. Avoid!

Hotel review: We couldn't really enjoy our room as there was an event going on at the restaurant and gardens, with loud music directly outside single glazed windows it was very loud. Luckily it ended just before midnight so we could sleep, although since we'd had to keep the windows closed it was extremely warm. The rooms are ok but could have been cleaned in more detail, there was a spider web under the windowsill with several dead spiders in it.

Review of the food as takeaway. Shocking. The beef rendang is lightyears away from even an average version. It's a weird slow cooked BBQ beef.

The food couldn't be faulted. Lovely heartwarming dishes with great flavour, the taste was so fresh, really lovely. The only thing I would say is that the atmosphere was strange, there was no music, we were one of 5 tables in a small place but it was so quiet and as people left we felt so awkward just having a conversation. Even with 5 tables there was no buzzing chit chat it just felt so cold and hostile, which is such a shame for a place with good food in a stunning location. There were great vegan options available which was also a win! I would recommend this place for the food 100%.

I had pork scratchings for a starter, they could have been straight out of a packet. I had a Steak pie with a red wine sauce, french fries with a cheese topping and gravy. It’s that good that I’ve been twice within a few days…Friday and back again today! Lux cheese on toast is the best I’ve ever tried. Last time I had it with chips which are an unusual shape but cooked to perfection, taste lovely and great for dipping! Today I had it on its own with the sweet chilli sauce dip, as it’s still very filling. Always great service, when going on a one hour lunch break you need to make sure you can get in, order and eat and back to work again on time-the lovely lady even said we can call ahead in future to order to save even more time, although we have found we have ample time on the occasions we have been even with it being busy. Nice place to meet up with friends and catch up over a coffee and cake or lunch.

Not the first time I've been but it is the last. I've been on a couple of occasions with a friend and our two 18 month old children. Both times we were made to feel unwelcome. The first time we went we waited for 10 minutes and no one had come to the table, so we went to order and were told 'if you sit down and wait someone will be over'. This took a further 10 minutes. This seems to be the general attitude of the lady behind the counter as we experienced it both times. However, the food was good. The first time we went, the childrens scrambled egg came with toast. The second time, we were made to pay extra for the toast. We said we wouldn't go again. However, as a glutten for punishment I've been again with my husband (as I said the food had been good previously) today. It wasn't busy, plenty of free tables. Our order was taken, drinks arrived with food. I'd rather have had my drink earlier but I appreciate some like their drink with the food so that is by the by. However the food was cold. My husband had a breakfast and I had a bacon, brie and cranberry baguette with chips. All of it was cold. At no point did anyone come and ask how our food was. When I went to pay, no one asked if everything had been okay. Nothing. I got charged just short of £30 for 2 cold meals and 3 drinks. Needless to say, I definitely won't be returning again. In response to the owner: we visited today (05.04.25). I appreciate that you offer table service, however, waiting 20 minutes for said table service is not good service.

i came here with my boyfriend for a celebratory meal. the gin selection is fantastic, never seen so many options! we enjoyed all of the drinks that we tried which was a fair few! the food was okay, we got a starter each and then shared a pizza. we both agreed we should have just got a pizza each as it was a little smaller than we were expecting, but still fresh and delicious. we finished it off with a (very generous) portion of tiramisu to share, which was very good! i would definitely come back to sit in the beer garden in the sun, and get a whole pizza for myself!

Me and my friends attended on a Saturday for a bottomless brunch. I anticipated we may be slightly late so emailed to ask if we could move the brunch forward 30 minutes however no one responded. We managed to arrive at our original time and drink and food orders were taken promptly. The food was nice and the variety of drinks kept everyone happy. Service was prompt. Our brunch was due to finish at 3.30pm so the waitress came over at 3pm and said the brunch is finishing soon so can I get you some more drinks then I'll take your final order after that. Throughout the brunch we had been finishing our drinks in around 5-7 minutes. The waitress arrived at 3.15pm with our last drinks then promptly took payment for the brunch. We still had 15 minutes left of our 90 minutes, which we believed we could have easily had one more order. I have been to most of the bottomless brunches in Birmingham and also other places in the UK and usually the last order is taken at the end of the brunch. When we questioned this, we were advised that our time started from when we started drinking, so my friend stated that we placed our drinks order at 2pm and didn't start drinking til after 2pm if that was the policy and the waitress said "well I took your order at 2pm." The argument we had was that we still had 15 minutes left of our brunch and they were taking our payment trying to get us off the table before the 90 minutes was up. I feel we had a completely valid point and something that I have never come across at any other bottomless and that we asked politely, yet we were met with attitude from the waitress. Everything up until this point was great. My recommendation would be that if you want to go to a bottomless brunch where you are actually given the whole 90 minutes as promised on the t&c's then to attend elsewhere!

We had our engagement party at The Distillery Birmingham, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! From the start, the events manager Chelsea was incredible – she answered every question quickly and clearly, making the whole planning process stress-free. On the day, everything ran so smoothly. The room was emptied promptly when we needed, and being able to decorate beforehand and collect everything the next day made life so much easier. The bar staff were brilliant too – service was fast, drinks were flowing, and they kept the space spotless all night. We also booked the DJ they recommended, Jordan, and he was outstanding! His music choices catered perfectly for such a wide age range, and the dance floor was full from start to finish. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better venue or team to help us celebrate such a special occasion. Thank you to everyone at The Distillery for making our engagement party unforgettable!

A fantastic space to host private events, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful - even if they did run out of Intuition, I can forgive them for how accommodating they were throughout! Chelsea fielded numerous queries in advance, answering them all with clarity & in good time. We also made great use of the outside space, which was fantastic in the later-afternoon sun. We had numerous compliments from guests about the quality of the food - which was plentiful & managed superbly by the team on the day.

We couldn’t thank them enough! We came in today to celebrate our anniversary and were treated to an incredible afternoon tea. We had originally planned a weekend away, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to reschedule. I called Noel this morning and was assisted by Monia over the phone—she was understanding, patient, and wonderfully polite. My wife had her heart set on afternoon tea, and even though bookings usually require 24 hours’ notice, they kindly accommodated us and prepared a fantastic vegetarian afternoon tea. The venue itself is beautiful, with a lovely location, a welcoming atmosphere, excellent service, and beautifully presented, delicious food. We went on a Wednesday evening (7-10pm) so it was quite empty. We had the view of the canal which was nice. The decor is absolutely stunning as a the toilets although they could’ve done with some regular cleaning. The food was good, although it would’ve been nice to have desserts, I didn’t see any on the menu. The mocktails were really nice too. It came up to £110 for 2 of us (2 starters, 2 mains, 3 drinks). The food took a while to come out though otherwise, the staff were really nice and polite

We were seated immediately. Shout out to Laila for her fantastic service. As usual I go for the caviar, unfortunately the one I wanted wasn't available. Fortunately I had an upgrade to a better caviar of the same size. My night was made!!!! The food was stunning! Just delicious! Every single course was to die for! We were coming to a concert in Birmingham and planned somewhere to eat. Noels sounded just right; pleasant location next to the canal and the menu looked enticing. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is light and airy in a sophisticated way, the waiters were fabulously helpful and pleasant and the food was stunningly good. It was a more expensive restaurant than we might usually go to but it was worth it as an exceptional experience. While we were expecting our table to be available for an hour and a half, we were able to stay for over 2 hours. Our waiter checked when it was needed so we knew how to pace ourselves. They do charge for service (not stated as voluntary) but the service was very good. We had appetisers of olives and bruschetta followed by the best rib eye steak ever with perfectly crisp and tasty chips . My companion had rump of lamb which she declared as delicious. These were accompanied by a lovely bottle of Italian primitivo. We finished witt the most perfect puddings ever; an apple / chocolate mousse and a mixed fresh fruit tart, with coffee to conclude. If you are in Birmingham and want a stunning meal then we wholeheartedly recommend Noels.

Wayland’s Yard Coffee & Brunch is a popular spot in Birmingham, conveniently located on Bull Street. It's known for its speciality coffee and delicious homemade bakery items. They also serve a variety of food including cooked breakfast with meat or vegetarian options. The venue has undergone subtle changes over the years, but it remains a great place to stop for coffee or lunch while exploring the city.
This was such a fab find for brunch on our recent visit to Birmingham. It didn't look much from the outside but inside it's all cool, industrial vibes. Staff are really helpful and you can order at the counter or via the app. The coffee was great and the brunch menu is vast. I enjoyed the fried crumpets but my husband chose the hashbrown benedict and it was ah-mazing! Prices were fair and it's dog friendly too!

We stumbled across this breakfast place and it was a good find. Entered to a sign where you can grab menus and grab any seat. Still welcomed by someone who advised us we could order at the table or the till. Great choices on the menu and easy to order from the app. We decided to order at the till as I wanted scrambled eggs which were not on the menu. This was adapted to the dish for an extra £1.50. We ordered 2 hash brown stacks, bacon and vegetarian options. Hash browns were slightly salty but probably be perfect for hangover hunger! Both dishes were cooked well, good sizes and great flavour. It was nice to have a different dish for breakfast, especially with spinach and feta. We had an orange juice and an iced latte. Totalling our bill just under £30 which we felt was more than worth it for the food portions, quality and drinks. The atmosphere felt relaxed but many people in with the sound of conversations in the air, the staff were super friendly and accommodating.

Lovely little spot to pop in for a light lunch or brunch. We decided to go for brunch and on reflection that was probably a worse choice than the breakfasts or sandwiches but good nonetheless. Next time I'd go for a fry up instead of the fritters, which I did like but wasn't particularly filling. You order on the app or up at the desk, but when there's a queue the app proves much quicker. I liked how there were photos on the app, that was really helpful. Only one toilet, and it's accessible which is good, but might be a problem if someone was having an emergency and it is occupied. A semi industrial look so the place is fairly echoey, and no cushioning on the bench, so if you bring your grandma get her to sit on the chair! Watch out for the drinks and cakes, the prices seem a little high, but then I don't come into the city often so they could also be typical! Too much fat in the cookies for my personal taste but I know some people love them crispier too.

What a cracking find, bank holiday brunch! Really hit the spot- great menu, super delicious butchers brekkie and pancakes! They are serious about coffee- super slick kit, and expertly made. Top marks all round. Try it, you won’t be disappointed…

The breakfast was delicious. However, the order arrived with green garnish on it, even though I had requested that nothing be added to the eggs — no green onions or any green toppings. After informing them about the issue, they corrected the order, and when it came back, it was excellent and well-prepared. They were very cooperative. The tea was wonderful.

Great tasting breakfast. Had the smashed avo toast with poached eggs. Tasted really fresh and delicious. Portion was slightly on the small side for the price unfortunately.

Visited here last Sunday, with our dog. We had checked in advance, that they were a dog friendly cafe. As soon as we sat down, one of the staff brought our dog a bowl of water and a saucer with some dog treats 😍 . There's a QRcode on the table, scan this and you can place your food and drinks order, and pay. Drinks were brought swiftly, along with cutlery. We ordered 2 of the halloumi salad and 2 of the miso pork salad. All were lovely and flavourful, and a decent size.

their homemade special hash browns really outstanding with loads of different options, and first time trying egg Benedict on hash browns which is definitely a new try!

Kanteen is a cozy coffee shop located in the creative quarter of the Custard Factory in Digbeth. They offer a healthy brunch menu featuring items like fruit & grains, sourdough toast, baked eggs, muffins & filled croissants. Their signature range includes bottomless coffee on select days. The cafe also caters to vegans with options like smoked tofu served with roasted heritage tomatoes, kale, mushrooms and avocado wedges.
Delicious food, great size portions and so many vegan options.

Great place to get food and a nice coffee from. The staff is nice, atmosphere is relaxed and ideal for having a conversation. Food was great, drinks as well.

Popped in before work for an oat flat white. Great service, lovely barista who was happy to chat whilst making the coffee. Looks like a lovely cafe with lots of veggie and vegan options, so next time we'll definitely stop for some food too.
Sonya M — Google review
Lovely looking little coffee shop, but the service is a farce. Wasn’t particularly busy but waited 30 minutes for the most basic of drinks (a tea and latte) and they had clearly been sitting for a while given the temperature and how stewed the tea was. Feels like work is needed on the basics.
Megan H — Google review
They’ve recently hired more staff to cover lunchtime rush and it’s such a difference. Lady behind counter is so friendly and food/coffee is great, really pleased to have this on the doorstep at work.

Very cute place. The food looks and is amazing and there is a great tea and coffee selection. Can recommend the apple spice tea. The atmosphere is welcoming abd so are the people working there.

Been here in the evenings when it’s serving tapas so thought I would give the place a late breakfast. Really good quality produce used, ciabatta bread really nice. Good section of refrigerated drinks. And the white chocolate and raspberry cookie was out of this world.
Rickie — Google review
My wife and I recently stayed the night at the old crown pub for the night they don’t serve breakfast so we called in at the kanteen. The cafe was clean and friendly but the menu was very surreal I mean who wants martini on a breakfast menu ? Rather than a traditional breakfast there is harissa beans and chicken waffles . Really bizarre and not for us two breakfasts and two hot drinks in the custard factory is just to much at £30 💰. As we got closer to the railway station there were lots of cafes that offered much better value and I would suggest you do the same , sorry not for us 👎🏻 One star review is based on the price which was just too much for what was offered and a menu which needs to be more of a traditional one .

Urban Cafe / Bar / Kitchen in the Jewellery Quarter is a relaxed spot with floor-to-ceiling windows and pine tables, offering pastries, brunch, and free WiFi. The bright space provides an inviting seating area for smaller groups to work or relax. With three locations across Birmingham, including Harborne and Church St, Urban is perfect for studying on the go or taking a break at nearby museums and green spaces.
Delightful light lunch and coffees here, in a warm and comfy setting. The Classic Bennie bap £8.95 and the soup of the day £6.95 were delicious. The sun was shining on our faces and it was bliss. Coffees were nice but a bit dear I thought £4.10 and it's 50p extra for decaf.

Just visited this new coffee spot and I’m really impressed! • The decoration is super nice – cozy and modern, perfect for relaxing or working. • The staff are great – very friendly and welcoming. • The coffee tastes really good, especially the cappuccino. Smooth and rich! • There’s a lovely outdoor seating area too, great for sunny days. It is a bit pricier than other popular coffee chains, but honestly, the vibe and quality make it worth it. Definitely coming back!

Perfect breakfast spot, the urban vibe here is really impressive, the breakfast is an exceptional gourmet delight! Would highly recommend

The food and coffee mostly hit the mark, but inconsistent service can really affect the overall experience. That can be a bummer, especially if you’re enjoying the flavors but the wait time or attentiveness isn't quite there, there is always room for better customer service!

Really lovely and bright spot in the JQ. Great for people watching and remote working with some delicious although slightly expensive food items. Lovely friendly staff and very relaxed vibe with some cheerful dogs warming up every visit!
Jess — Google review
The food was good, the location was good, the place looked great and it was a good find. The charter said they value gig customer service, so the person who served us must have been having a bad day. Later as they were tidying another table away, they really weren't happy about it. Think they need to find another job.

This place is so lovely. It's really relaxed, welcoming and the food is great. I get anxious going out, because you don't know how each business works from place to place, but Urban cafe has clear signage and instruction; you can take a seat, and order at the till when you're ready. This was actually really helpful to me. The staff are so polite and helpful. The place is clean, the menu options are great. My poached eggs were perfect! Honestly, can't fault it.

Nestled in the vibrant Digbeth area, Cafe Lovelife is a delightful Mediterranean restaurant that embodies the essence of relaxed social dining. This charming eatery offers an array of authentic dishes, from mezze plates and grilled meats to hearty salads and freshly baked breads, all while celebrating halal cuisine. The menu also features a selection of alcohol-free beverages, including refreshing smoothies and herbal teas.
We came here for brunch before the gig and wow what a great soothing place. Lovely airy atmosphere with a great menu. We both went for a fresh juice mine was the energise one with kiwi , apple and spinach, and a matcha latte. For food we both chose the French toast with ice cream and berry compote. When everything arrived it tasted fresh and perfect. We spied other plates going out and they too looked flawless. If I had the room I would have also ordered one of their stunning cinnamon buns too. Overall highly recommended this place for breakfast/brunch .

Update Mid October Went for the sunday roast and the beef brisket and lamb were both moorishly good. Each main comes with veg and potatoes. The side dish of mashed potatos ordered was lovely and creamy. The mains were so good we all want to go back. Loved the gravy. The cauliflower cheese side dish wasn't very cheesy or something we'd get again but everything else was soooooo good. Loved the ginger brownie. Brunch (first visit) Staff are lovely providing ace service and the atmosphere relaxing. Decor has a nice vibe to it. Food was nice I was just expecting more flavour, didn't finish thinking ooh I want this again. However I do want to go back to try the sunday roast. Everything is halal. Mint tea was lovely and fresh. Layout is great for anyone with mobility difficulties.

I visited Lovelife for brunch on Saturday and absolute loved it from the second I walked in! The internet first of all is super pretty and refreshing, I especially loved the bow details on the chairs and even took pictures!! For the food I ordered the salt beef cubano, which was really delicious but I did wish it could have a little more sauce (a personal preference!). My friends also really enjoyed their dishes, like the full breakfast and the avocado toast. Everyone serving us was super friendly and welcoming, like the lady who took our order and told us we could ask for drinks not on the menu and Fatima who served us our food and told us how it was all freshly made that morning! Will definitely be back for more!! Thank you for a lovely meal and ice cream!
Ramla A — Google review
We ordered the French toast topped with raspberry jam and pistachios, served with ice cream, as well as a shakshuka with poached eggs. Both dishes were tasty. One suggestion for the restaurant would be to check for any allergies, as this wasn’t addressed during our visit. Overall, it was a great experience.

Café Lovelife – Fresh Mediterranean Flavours in the Heart of Digbeth Café Lovelife is one of Birmingham’s best spots for fresh, flavourful Mediterranean-inspired food. Every dish feels thoughtfully made — from the halloumi breakfast and lamb kofta to the vibrant mezze plates and patatas bravas, everything is packed with taste and beautifully presented. The ingredients are clearly fresh, and you can tell there’s real care in the cooking. The desserts are a must-try too — the tiramisu and date & tahini cinnamon roll are crowd favourites. Portion sizes are generous, and there are great vegetarian and vegan options as well. It can get busy during weekends, so booking or arriving early helps. Overall, it’s a warm, stylish café with amazing food that truly captures the relaxed Mediterranean vibe — definitely one of Digbeth’s dining gems.

Nestled in the bustling Minories arcade of Birmingham, Hookways is a delightful gem that specializes in informal Middle Eastern cuisine. This charming eatery offers an array of mouthwatering options, from kebabs and wraps to halloumi fries and baklava, all served in a relaxed atmosphere. Unlike typical late-night greasy fare, Hookways prides itself on high-quality lunch selections that cater to various tastes.
Best lunch spot in Brum. The wrap was absolutely delicious! Got the £10 lunch deal with a drink for reference!
Esther A — Google review
Quite pricey and the chicken and halloumi wrap didn't really have enough salad in it. It also lacked flavor really, could have done with more sauce... The chilli sauce didn't really work well with it but my friend enjoyed the chipotle sauce. The falafel were very disappointing, small and excessively crunchy, barely any filling for some of them.

Absolutely beautiful food - fresh tasty, amazing flavours. The meal I ordered was better than I expected it to be! Delicious. The only problem is - I live 100 miles from Birmingham, (here for work) and I won’t be able to have this again until I’m back!!! 💔 5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Great little shop. My order of Pita meal with chicken + fries and a drink was ready in about 15-20min. Slightly more costly than in other places, however, absolutely worth it. The pita was incredibly tasty, chips were one of the best I had in a long time, the garlic dip was amazing! Overall really glad I had a lunch here and really satisfied!

Got to book a time slot for collection and didn’t have to wait around at all when I got there. Staff is so friendly and polite. Food is always delicious and was accurate to all our adjustments and clearly labelled. 10/10 would recommend.

My second visit. Just had the best lamb wrap iv ever had, with the scotch bonnet which was absolutely spot on for me. Previously i had the chicken and halloumi salad which did not dissappint either. Also the service has been really friendly and helpful. I pass alot but never come in. So glad i tried it. Definitely will be coming in more.

Ordered a takeaway but the Lamb wrap was missing. Fries and Halloumi were freezing cold, which could be down to the Uber Eats driver but no excuses for the missing wrap, which cost nearly £15. No answer when trying to contact the shop and a pathetic £2.72 refund from Uber Eats.

Our team lunch at Flight Club in Birmingham was an excellent experience. It was my first visit, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We arrived just before they opened at noon, waited for about 3 minutes for them to open. The atmosphere was immediately welcoming and the staff helped us to our table. The venue offered a fun darts game, which added a unique touch to the experience. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. I opted for the Beyond Burger, curly fries, and salad, followed by some delicious brownies. The menu also featured a variety of burger options, while some of my colleagues enjoyed pizzas and wraps. The curly fries and brownies were personal highlights for me😊. Additionally, I tried a non-alcoholic cocktail, Spring Passion, I particularly think that was refreshing and well-prepared. The venue itself is beautifully decorated and had a warm and inviting ambiance. Overall, Flight Club is a fantastic choice for team-building activities or group lunches. I highly recommend it!

My partner booked for my birthday. We arrived slightly early and were offered to start early. The staff were really friendly and happy to help at all times. The food and drinks come quickly and at a high standard, the pizza was lovely and not greasy at all. The nachos were tasty and good portion. The darts games were fun and the whole idea is rather awesome, lots of fun for all. Staff came and gave us an extra 15 mins at the end of our session which was ace. Good value for money on the game and food, drinks seemed a little pricey but they aren’t any more expensive than other Birmingham bars etc. good experience all round.

Met some friends on a night out not knowing what to expect. What a great place. We played darts and they helped coordinate the tournament. The bar staff was extra attentive to needs. Offered great recommendations. we had a fantastic night out. Make sure you book in advance as this is a very popular venue.

We have visited here a few times in the last few years and I’ve visited with a variety of groups - work party’s with 25+ people, friends of up to 6 and just myself and my partner and they comfortably cater for it all. The food is perfect for what you want, picky items that are delicious - particularly always go for the nachos. Absolutely love that they do discounts for people in the hospitality industry on Sundays and Mondays - perfect for us. We love it here and we try and make it part of a day out when we have visitors. I wonder if you may introduce some new games in the near future - would be great to see something different

We came here for a works team day social. Not done it and initial thought was ‘darts are boring’. However, it was a lot of fun and a lot of different games to play. Whilst darts in the core of it, it really was great fun playing with and against various people. The laughter didn’t really stop and was a nice Team event. We order plenty of drinks and they came fast with great service. We didn’t have any good but other seemed to have a buffet for their events.

This was a last minute booking for 6 people and I have to say what a great choice it was. The drinks are average prices and some fantastic cocktails, the staff we had the pleasure of meeting where great and went out of there way to help. The darts was a great fun addition to the evening and was such good fun I recommend playing in couple wow does it get competitive. Great night out and a great place to visit in Birmingham

Malmaison Birmingham is a stylish hotel located in the former Royal Mail sorting office, now known as the Mailbox. The bright red exterior makes it easily recognizable. The hotel offers 193 rooms with sleek and modern décor, featuring pop-art posters and monochrome bathrooms. Its location provides easy access to luxury shopping options and the vibrant city center of Birmingham. The on-site Chez Mal Brasserie offers a vibrant atmosphere with colorful neon touches.
I only booked a night here for after the Kendrick Lamar concert. But it was an excellent stay. The rooms were amazing. I actually got a free upgrade! The room was spacious, they had all the right amenities, including free bottled water. The hotel is located right by the train station so it’s really easy to get to. The service was excellent from the front desk and the hospitality staff. The breakfast was great too, I liked that it has both a continental buffet and cooked options you can choose from. The choices are a bit limited but most people will find something they’ll like. If I come back to Birmingham, I’ll be staying again.

Located close to the Bullring and with a Q car park next door to the hotel, this hotel is ideally located. The rooms are of a very high standard, although a little dark. They are very spacious and are built to a high quality. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The bar has an extensive drinks menu and the happy hour prices are very inviting. Lastly onto the food. I rarely eat at hotel restaurants, but the food here is excellent. Easily on par with a respectable restaurant. I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Birmingham.

An Exceptional Date Night – A Must-Visit! I’d heard so much about this place but had never had the chance to experience it, so when my partner took me here for our date night, I was beyond excited. Though we had a brief wait upon arrival, the staff quickly made up for it with their impeccable service. They truly went above and beyond to make us feel like VIPs, attentive, friendly, and genuinely eager to ensure we had a wonderful evening. The food was simply phenomenal. We kicked things off with the crab tacos, and honestly, it was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully plated, it set the bar high for the rest of the meal. The steak? Perfection. Juicy, tender, and packed with incredible flavour, it was clear that a lot of care and skill went into preparing it. The atmosphere was the cherry on top, cozy, romantic, and just the right mix of relaxed elegance that made our night feel even more memorable. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience! 😊

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Went for a birthday treat and really appreciated the free cocktail. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice but to be honest, the pastries were not fresh. Would stay again Note: you need to pre book the car park if using it as the hotel no longer have a code. It cost me £25 for the night

Overall this is pretty good hotel. I've not used the gym or spa facilities. I have always visited on business trips. Rooms are generally impeccable, but I will say they are starting to show their age. However, still a very good experience. Breakfast wise, you get great service and the food is, for the most part, good. I think there's the odd chef that isn't up to the standards of the others, but to be honest, I've never thought to complain. It's pretty darn ok, ya know. If there were any complaints, it is this: please, please give complementary lip balm! The air con is very needed, but dries your lips fast. I have always left the hotel with crunchy, painful lips!!
