Coffee shop
Faculty Coffee is a charming coffee shop located near the modern New Street station in the vintage Piccadilly Arcade. The interior boasts a retro atmosphere with dark wood and rustic brick furnishings, creating a trendy and independent vibe. The cafe offers carefully sourced beans, special teas, classic snacks, delectable desserts, and now even serves brunch on select days.
I travel from Nottingham to Birmingham every week for work, and I always make sure to stop by my favourite coffee shop. Hands down the best coffee in Birmingham consistently excellent, with new beans to try from around the world. Great value for money and some seriously tasty sweet treats too. Josh is always keen to explain how each coffee is best served, which makes the experience even better. An absolute must try! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was drawn in by the lovely smell of coffee when I walked past. I just about found a table for two of us as it was quite a busy time. Service was generally good. I had a flat white which is usually my standard coffee shop order, and it was decent. Lots of lovely looking cakes and pastries but I wasn't hungry so didn't try them.
Dal — Google review
I've been here lots and have never been disappointed. This is the best coffee I have tried in Brum. I usually just snack here and find a great selection to chose from. If you are a coffee snob you will be fine here. ☕ It helps that the staff are very pleasant and helpful too.
Nat T — Google review
What a coffee (espresso)! Absolutey great and they well explained what to expect on the tasting side. All this done by really friendly and kind staff. And on top of it an awesome almond croissant! What do you need more to start your day!
André W — Google review
I recently discovered this charming little café tucked away on a quiet side street, and it has quickly become my go-to spot for a perfect afternoon escape. From the moment I walked in, the cozy ambiance enveloped me—soft lighting, rustic wooden tables, and the irresistible aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods wafting through the air. The menu is a delightful mix of classic and innovative options. I opted for their signature avocado toast on sourdough, topped with poached eggs and a sprinkle of chili flakes, paired with a velvety latte made from locally roasted beans. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced—the bread was crispy yet tender, and the coffee was rich without being overpowering. The pastries, especially the flaky croissants, are baked in-house daily and melt in your mouth. What truly sets this place apart is the exceptional service. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do—they even recommended a seasonal special that exceeded my expectations. It's clear they take pride in creating a welcoming experience for every guest. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite, working remotely with their reliable Wi-Fi, or lingering over brunch with friends, this café nails it every time. Affordable prices, high-quality ingredients, and a vibe that's equal parts relaxing and invigorating—five stars without hesitation! I'll be back soon
Jamey — Google review
A lovely little cafe with good coffee and sweet treats to accompany. Looks like they're made on site. No toilets but there are free ones across the road in the station. Also do some sofas for those who don't want to caffeinate.
Deanne J — Google review
From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warm smiles and an inviting ambiance that instantly made me feel at home. The decor is a perfect blend of cozy and chic, with soft lighting and charming details that create a welcoming atmosphere. The menu is a true gem, offering a wide variety of dishes to suit every palate. I opted for their signature [specific dish, e.g., avocado toast with poached eggs], and it was nothing short of perfection—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The coffee was equally impressive, with rich, aromatic notes that made every sip a pleasure. They clearly source high-quality ingredients, and the care put into each dish is evident. The staff deserves special praise for their attentiveness and genuine hospitality. They were knowledgeable about the menu, quick to offer recommendations, and ensured every guest felt valued. The service was prompt without feeling rushed, striking the perfect balance.
Damion — Google review
Absolutely phenomenal! This cozy little café has become my go-to spot for the perfect morning escape. The barista crafted the creamiest latte I've ever had—rich espresso with just the right foam art (a cute leaf today!). Paired it with their flaky almond croissant that literally melted in my mouth. The ambiance is spot-on: soft jazz, warm lighting, and plenty of outlets for remote work. Staff are genuinely friendly and attentive without hovering. Prices are fair for the quality, and they even have outdoor seating with heaters for chilly days. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by—you won't regret it!

Saint Kitchen is a family-owned daytime spot located on the south-eastern edge of St Pauls Square in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. Formerly known as Saint Caffe, it has evolved into a charming cafe under new ownership. The owner, Will, who is also a chef, has combined excellent coffee with delectable homemade baked goods and an eclectic brunch menu that draws inspiration from various cuisines around the world.
I have been coming to Saint Kitchen for over 3 years and this is my space space. My partner and I come here on a Sunday morning, I bring my friends when they come to stay, and I come on my own whenever I have the time. It sounds cheesy but this place is honestly like a warm hug to me. The staff are lovely, the food is absolutely delicious, and the coffee is the best in Birmingham. It’s right next to Saint Paul’s Square which is one of the prettiest spots in Birmingham. You can never get bored of the food because they are always changing up the menu. You know it’s fresh as well because you can see the chefs making it in front of you. I rarely write reviews but am writing this one because this place is just amazing. I love Saint Kitchen so so much ♥️
Meg D — Google review
Saints Kitchen’s food and service just makes me happy. The food is so delicious and nicely presented and the service is always friendly and efficient. My favourite place in Birmingham for a delicious brunch. The menu changes which means there is always something new to try though sometimes I feel sad because the dish I fell in love with previously is no longer available 😄. The sourdough bread is lovely and the hash brown fries currently on the menu is magical in my humble opinion. I also love the 50% dark/50% milk chocolate mocha. Hope the photos do the food justice. I have shared photos from two different visits so the menu was different.

Absolute gem of a place. Lovely location, food is just fantastic, the staff are always friendly. One of my favorite places in town. It also without doubt serves the best coffee. The coffee is something else. Most Saturday mornings in the winter me and my wife visit and have a couple of hours wondering around st pauls and a bite to eat here. Love it
Carl T — Google review
Discovered this place while living in the Jewelery Quarter a few years ago and loved it. Came back today with my fiancé hoping to share a special breakfast. We were not disappointed.I had the avocado on toast with a side of delicious bacon which was good. My other half however chose the pancakes with custard buttercream, peanut butter fudge l, candied peanuts and salted caramel and I had instant food envy. The coffee was spot on and the service was excellent. Definitely a place to check out if you’re in Brum.
Robbie K — Google review
On an unfeasibly hot day, we were cheerfully welcomed by the wonderful staff, and sat down for the most incredible salt beef sandwiches with hash brown fries. Fluffy bread, beautifully seasoned fries and tasty fillings. Definitely seek this place out if you're in Birmingham
Ben C — Google review
Felt the warm sense of welcome as soon as we walked in the entrance, being happily greeted by a member of staff. Excellent service. Homemade Chai Latte made my wife very happy. Generous helping of butter, not in a foil packet on the sourdough toast. WONDERFUL strawberry, lime and mint jam.
John N — Google review
Wonderful place for a coffee some food and a catch up, not too loud. Gluten free options are amazing, all prepared I'm a separate part of the kitchen! The menu is mainly different types of sandwiches and they've got some delightful and rather bougie hashbrowns too. Everything on the menu can be gluten free. My only constructive criticism is that I wish they did an English breakfast, they've got the bacon, eggs, bread and hash browns on the menu, they could just add beans, ideally a sausage and they'd have it really
Jamie L — Google review
Nice spot right in St pauls square. Service is always great and really friendly. Small but nice menu. Food was very nice, I had pan con tomate, with burrata. Ice coffee was fine, small and not enough ice so it was not very cold and what ice there was melted very quickly making it watery. Good value, would go again.

Located in Birmingham City Centre, Damascena is a local chain with multiple locations across the city. It offers a warm and traditional environment where visitors can enjoy Turkish coffee, Middle Eastern cuisine, and delectable pastries. The breakfast menu features classic avocado and egg dishes as well as unique options like the Juz-Muz, a flavorful scrambled egg dish served with chillies and tomatoes.
A great spot to catch up with friends, grab a bite, have a meeting, or work. I visited last month for work meetings and was very satisfied with the food. Service can be a bit slow, and we often had to seek out a server or request attention. Our table also wasn’t cleared, so we ended up stacking dishes and glasses to make space. Highlights for me were the wraps, mannish, iced teas, and the Oreo milkshake -all excellent!
Z R — Google review
The atmosphere at Damascena is truly amazing — such a pleasant and welcoming vibe. Special thanks to Bardia, who is extremely helpful and supportive, always guiding with food choices — I can’t say enough about how great the service is. The food is delicious and very diverse; I’ve tried different wraps, sandwiches, and shawarmas, and really enjoyed them all. Sometimes the dishes are a bit too spicy for my taste, but overall the variety and quality are excellent. The place itself is lovely, the only downside is that the parking space is quite limited.
Bahareh M — Google review
Beautiful locals in the center of town. You maybe lucky to find parking locally, but there's motorcycling parking right next to it. We were seated quickly with and the atmosphere is lovely inside and out. On good days there is seating outside. There's lots of drinks and food options which was a nice surprise. The menu has a fair number of vegetarian options available. Food arrived quickly and was nicer than I expected. It's a nice place to come to sadly the staff really need a moral boost. I understand it can get busy but a friendly demeanor would make the place that much more welcoming. All in all I'd be looking to pop by again. ENJOY.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the warm smells of their chai spices. We were looking for a late night hot drink and Damascena was the perfect place for a karak chai. Whilst enjoying our delicious hot drinks, we had a look at their food menu and knew we had to come back. The next morning, we feasted on their manakeesh and fuul that reminded us of our warm homes. Compliments to chef and the very kind staff. We will definitely return to our local, far-away coffee house on our next visit to Birmingham.

What a unique place to have dinner! Spiced Chai Latte was absolutely amazing, salad was fresh, tahini kofta and pickled veggies were very flavourful. I also tried three different pastries, all of them were very lovely. As coming from the country where there are no Middle Eastern restaurants, I’ve really enjoyed the experience and will definitely come back once I’m in the UK.
Eglė K — Google review
Cosy and friendly. Staff banter was 10/10, main menu had good selection and really tasty. Ginger, lemon and honey tea would recommend. Baklava was not to our personal taste but enjoyable still (my friend prefers it sweeter).
Ada — Google review
Nice place in a fairly central location, with reasonable prices and good quality food. There’s the option to eat outside; we were taken to a very beautiful indoor room. The menu is very rich and varied, with dishes for vegetarians and vegans. The drinks are good. The only downside was the staff, who were completely inattentive to the customers. They were certainly polite, but I had to struggle several times to get their attention.
Salvatore S — Google review
Amazing experience at Damascena! The staff were amazing — truly talented at their job, friendly, and very attentive. They made us feel welcome from the start. Maya suggested great choices from the menu, and Jagdeep made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and relaxing, and the desserts were perfect! We will definitely visit again! Jagdeep & Maya❤️

In 2013, Cafephilia opened its doors in Moseley, a suburb of Birmingham. While other cafes were thriving in the city centre, Cafephilia became a neighborhood institution. Known for its good coffee and tea, as well as delicious food that is served until late evening. The cafe has a cozy atmosphere with a sunny front area and a more relaxed seating section at the back that features comfortable sofas and soft lighting. It has gained popularity among locals for serving excellent coffee and cakes.
I have been coming here for a month as I work in the area. This coffee shop has a lovely atmosphere, great music choice and amazing coffee. Couldn’t ask for anything better. The staff began recognising me and knew my order right away. They always ask me how I’m doing and want to know what’s going on. Such a lovely coffee shop, I will definitely be coming back here more. Haven’t had food here but have seen the plates of other peoples food and looks really good. 10/10 customer service, 10/10 coffee, and 10/10 coffee shop overall. I love this place.
Bethany N — Google review
I'm a regular at Cafephilia, and it's hands down one of my favorite spots in town. Every time I come in, Will takes incredible care of me — he's not only welcoming but also consistently goes above and beyond. The food he makes is always amazing, and he often adds his own special touches that aren't even on the menu, which makes each visit feel unique and personalized. I usually come here to study, and the environment is perfect for that — cozy, calm, and friendly. It genuinely feels like a second home. If you're looking for a place with great food, a warm atmosphere, and people who really care, Cafephilia is it.
Mal — Google review
This is my favourite place but today it was very cold, so I couldn't stay very long. (Also a bit too noisy, but the place is small, so it's difficult to control the acoustics, I understand) The food selection is great and they're always very friendly and since I regularly ask for ingredient combinations which are not on the menu, they're always happy to do it. Also I love the big corner windows - when it's sunny this is the best/only place where you get so much sun coming through to the inside. Overall - my favourite place to have a drink or a bite, and work on my laptop in Moseley and King's Heath!
Teodora K — Google review
This is one of my favourite cafes in Birmingham/Moseley. Such a cosy atmosphere and vibe, the staff are always friendly and there’s a good range of choices on their menu. Prices are decent too, 10/10 spot
Ifra K — Google review
I visited this cafe today for the first time with my husband and daughter. We thought the place was fabulous , the food and coffee were delicious and the service was great, I really recommend popping in, you won’t be disappointed. My daughter is looking to move to the area so we got chatting to the owner, who was absolutely lovely and he and his friend gave us some really useful advice. Overall a really enjoyable experience, one of the best independent cafes I’ve been to.
Lindsey N — Google review
The chicken sandwich here is really nice! Other food selection looks good too. Need to try some milkshakes. Their opening hours are long, which is useful. Music sometimes played a lil loud and limited seating quite close together. Nice local place.
Aamna — Google review
Fantastic food, coffee and atmosphere. Staff are so friendly too, the staff weren't happy with the quality of the cake I chose so gave me another and my money back! So naturally it went in the charity box :)
Georgina D — Google review
Me and a couple of friends stopped in at Cafephilia over the weekend and had such a great experience! William was such a great server - friendly and accommodating and going above and beyond to take care of us, for example bringing us little samples of one of the milkshakes to try (which was seriously delicious). I haven't had such good service in a long time, and that wasn't the only good part as the food was also delicious! I had the nachos and both the salsa and the guac tasted homemade. This is now my new favourite cafe in Moseley - I highly recommend stopping in!

Hylton Cafe is a charming eatery located in the heart of Birmingham's jewelry quarter, offering a classic British menu that comes highly recommended. The breakfast options are diverse, featuring curated plates with sausages, baked beans, and fried eggs, as well as eggs Benedict and simple tea and toast combinations. For lunch, patrons can enjoy freshly made soups, jacket potatoes, burgers, salad boxes, and refreshing juices.
Fantastic little cafe; sizeable portions, prompt service, affordable prices. Always happy with my sausage, bacon, egg & mushroom sarnie on a Friday, and my missus loves their poached eggs with tomatoes on toast. A gem of a place in the heart of the jewellery quarter 💎

Wonderful visit - a really warm welcome and a menu to die for. A full Hylton was outstanding, the food was perfectly cooked and well presented. It was hot and great flavours abounded. It's a real " belly buster" and outstanding.

Located in Birmingham, 200 Degrees Coffee Shop & Barista School offers a unique and ever-changing menu in a cozy setting with dim lighting and exposed brickwork. The shop is known for its flavor-driven sandwiches, Insta-friendly latte art, and house blends roasted at their Nottingham HQ. They also host a guest bean each week and offer a Barista School where aspiring baristas can learn the tricks of the trade.
Been twice now to this location and found it to be my new favourite place in Birmingham. Really nicely decorated, clean (as a carer for someone with a low immune system im quite tough to please on this subject.) the vegan selection is lovely and the cinnamon bun was stunning. My first visit I went with a friend for tea and a catch up, my second visit I sat and read my book over a pot of tea. Being able to order to the table is brilliant as I could get settled and not worry about leaving my things to order. Toilets upstairs and downstairs, accessible and clean. Staff are friendly. A real gem of Birmingham.
Amanda B — Google review
I visited 200 Degrees Coffee Shop in Birmingham on the 8th of February 2025. As there was a social meet up via the Meetup app. But other than that I would not come here that freely, as explained below The staff at 200 Degrees Coffee were friendly and helpful. As well as the service was good. Other important notes, this place does not accept cash/coin payments, only via card. So if you’re a O.G who would like to pay by cash/coins, I would not recommend this cafe to you. Also to note this place is not a dog free place (unfortunately). So if you were to value hygiene above all else this place is not for you. So as a person who is a sceptic of dog culture in general I would not see myself coming back to this coffee shop. To the dog nutters who maybe reading this review, if you like potential dog faeces/dog urine across the floor of this cafe, bumping into dogs or getting too close to dogs (near to immoral purposes?) this place is for you!

200 Degrees Coffee in Birmingham is a true standout, offering an exceptional coffee experience that goes far beyond your average chain cafe. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of freshly roasted beans is incredible, a perfect hint of the quality to come. The space itself is cozy and inviting, with a rustic, stylish feel that makes it a perfect spot to relax or get some work done. The coffee is, without a doubt, the star of the show. Their baristas are incredibly skilled, serving up perfectly brewed espresso drinks and pour-overs with a clear passion for their craft. I've never had a bad coffee here; every cup is consistently excellent. They also have a fantastic selection of food, including delicious sandwiches and cakes that pair beautifully with their drinks. What really makes 200 Degrees special is the staff. They are always friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to help you find the perfect drink. It's clear they take pride in what they do, and that makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable. It's my go-to spot in the city for a quality coffee and a great atmosphere.

Nice coffee shop in Colmor Row. Staff were friendly & helpful. We ordered our 2 coffees & then given an order number for the table. The interior is a combination of open brick work, soft lighting, and wooden accents, which sets itself apart from other coffee shops. We waited for a couple of minutes & our coffees we're brought to the table. Nice informal atmosphere where you can meet up with friends or do some work quietly on a laptop.

This 5 stars is for Ana ⭐ I was honestly about to give 1 star because of the coffee I first got from another staff member. I asked for my drink to be made extra hot since I was freezing, but the person on the till rolled her eyes and said she’d already noted it. When my drink came, it was barely warm. I asked if they could reheat it, but they said no since I’d already sipped it. Then Ana stepped in and said she will make me a new coffee, properly hot, and told me you're the customer you're paying for your drink you can customise however you want to if it's not good enough ask them to make again. What's the point of coming to cafe when you're not satisfied enough 😅 Honestly, she’s so right. I really appreciated how gracefully she handled everything.

The food is amazing just a bit expensive I bought a pulled pork, a lemonade and 2 salted caramel brownies and a pastel de... and came out to a total of £25-32. I would tip but, for food prices I won't. Edit: We had to wait 15 minutes for a coffee I ordered and after reminding them the second time they finally got to doing it

I come here every morning before work without fail. The team are incredible and always remember my order and know where I love to sit. They’re so accommodating! I’ve been a loyal customer at this cafe for a year and I always come with my family. I even have a membership and visit often because I really liked this place. But sadly, I had another disappointing experience. This is the second time this has happened. I came with my whole family and my little brother, who is 5 years old, had his own food because he can’t eat anything else. He was the only one with food from outside the rest of the family were going to order from the cafe as usual. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t allow us to stay because of my little brother’s food. They were not helpful at all and didn’t even try to understand the situation. I felt really unwelcome and disappointed because I’ve supported this cafe for a whole year and always recommended it to others. But after this, I won’t come back again. I hope they change this policy for kids with special food needs, but for me, I won’t visit this place anymore.

Wayland’s Yard Coffee & Brunch is a popular spot in Birmingham, conveniently located on Bull Street. It's known for its speciality coffee and delicious homemade bakery items. The cafe embraces a contemporary, minimal aesthetic and offers classic hot drinks as well as some nice beer options. They also serve a variety of food including cooked breakfast with meat or vegetarian options. The venue has undergone subtle changes over the years, but it remains a great place to stop for coffee or lunch while exploring the city.
This was such a fab find for brunch on our recent visit to Birmingham. It didn't look much from the outside but inside it's all cool, industrial vibes. Staff are really helpful and you can order at the counter or via the app. The coffee was great and the brunch menu is vast. I enjoyed the fried crumpets but my husband chose the hashbrown benedict and it was ah-mazing! Prices were fair and it's dog friendly too!

We stumbled across this breakfast place and it was a good find. Entered to a sign where you can grab menus and grab any seat. Still welcomed by someone who advised us we could order at the table or the till. Great choices on the menu and easy to order from the app. We decided to order at the till as I wanted scrambled eggs which were not on the menu. This was adapted to the dish for an extra £1.50. We ordered 2 hash brown stacks, bacon and vegetarian options. Hash browns were slightly salty but probably be perfect for hangover hunger! Both dishes were cooked well, good sizes and great flavour. It was nice to have a different dish for breakfast, especially with spinach and feta. We had an orange juice and an iced latte. Totalling our bill just under £30 which we felt was more than worth it for the food portions, quality and drinks. The atmosphere felt relaxed but many people in with the sound of conversations in the air, the staff were super friendly and accommodating.

Lovely little spot to pop in for a light lunch or brunch. We decided to go for brunch and on reflection that was probably a worse choice than the breakfasts or sandwiches but good nonetheless. Next time I'd go for a fry up instead of the fritters, which I did like but wasn't particularly filling. You order on the app or up at the desk, but when there's a queue the app proves much quicker. I liked how there were photos on the app, that was really helpful. Only one toilet, and it's accessible which is good, but might be a problem if someone was having an emergency and it is occupied. A semi industrial look so the place is fairly echoey, and no cushioning on the bench, so if you bring your grandma get her to sit on the chair! Watch out for the drinks and cakes, the prices seem a little high, but then I don't come into the city often so they could also be typical! Too much fat in the cookies for my personal taste but I know some people love them crispier too.

What a cracking find, bank holiday brunch! Really hit the spot- great menu, super delicious butchers brekkie and pancakes! They are serious about coffee- super slick kit, and expertly made. Top marks all round. Try it, you won’t be disappointed…

The breakfast was delicious. However, the order arrived with green garnish on it, even though I had requested that nothing be added to the eggs — no green onions or any green toppings. After informing them about the issue, they corrected the order, and when it came back, it was excellent and well-prepared. They were very cooperative. The tea was wonderful.

Great tasting breakfast. Had the smashed avo toast with poached eggs. Tasted really fresh and delicious. Portion was slightly on the small side for the price unfortunately.

Visited here last Sunday, with our dog. We had checked in advance, that they were a dog friendly cafe. As soon as we sat down, one of the staff brought our dog a bowl of water and a saucer with some dog treats 😍 . There's a QRcode on the table, scan this and you can place your food and drinks order, and pay. Drinks were brought swiftly, along with cutlery. We ordered 2 of the halloumi salad and 2 of the miso pork salad. All were lovely and flavourful, and a decent size.

their homemade special hash browns really outstanding with loads of different options, and first time trying egg Benedict on hash browns which is definitely a new try!

Located on New Street and in the Mailbox, as well as in Wolverhampton, Medicine Bakery is a unique artisan bakery-cafe-gallery that offers an authentic and unusual selection of breads and cakes. The bakery also serves as a social space by hosting independent markets and exhibitions. With its vibrant mix of musical genres, Medicine Bakery has expanded from being a swanky bar in Digbeth to become a master of all things coffee and cake.
Oh my gosh. What a find. It’s not cheap, but that’s reflected in the location, venue, presentation of food and taste. And goodness, everything was delicious! We were a party of 6; our order consisted of the Medicine and various French toasts. The only gripe is the fried chicken from one plate to another varied quite a bit in size. We don’t know whether one was more generous, or we were short changed on the other? A bit of consistency here wouldn’t go amiss. Other than that, a perfect way to start a Sunday morning. They also allowed dogs too! Service was timely, the venue was beautiful with lots of plants, and everyone of us enjoyed our meal. Can’t wait to come back. Well done!

I’m sad to report that this was a distinctly underwhelming experience. My daughter and I decided to pop in for an afternoon drink and a pastry. We normally go to EL&N, however their recent food hygiene rating has put us off, so we thought we’d try somewhere new. Firstly, the general ambience is rather grubby and downmarket: the tables were tacky, the singular a toilet an afterthought and everywhere looked like it needed a good scrub. We had to wait for a table (no problem), however it was almost impossible to catch anyone’s eye, so the whole process was unclear. When we were seated, we were given some rather tired and shabby menus which immediately adhered themselves to the surface of the table. Not to be deterred, we made our choice from the limited selection of pastries and cakes available. I chose the passionfruit cruffin which had seen better days and was still dripping in cooking fat. It was far from the light and delicate laminated pastries that I have tried at artisan bakeries and I felt rather let down. We noticed that the general atmosphere was unfriendly, I suspect that this was partly due to the staff’s fantastic ability to avoid eye contact at all times. Even my daughter noted that she had not seen a single member of waiting staff actually smile during the entirety of our visit. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.
Kate B — Google review
TLDR: I’d only recommend this place if you’re getting a pastry from the front. Long wait times (45+ mins) + no cooling system = not a great place to dine in. Came here twice and had very different experiences. When a friend and I grabbed a pastry from the front, we were served and seated right away, even moving to a booth when requested. The atmosphere was great and the interior is very aesthetic and appealing for social media. No complaints here. When I came alone a few months later to order brunch, I had a 2/5 experience. First, it took around 5-10 minutes to be seated with no acknowledgment of the long wait time, even with several moments of eye contact with staff who didn’t seem very rushed, though this can be overlooked. Second, I waited over 45 minutes for my food (not a guess or overestimate) without acknowledgment of any sort. There was a period of around 15 minutes where nothing came out of the kitchen (I had a direct view of where the food exited). During this wait time, it was increasingly apparent how uncomfortable the space was. There was no AC and the building has no windows to open. The only cooling system was a single fan, and with the many skylights, the restaurant felt like a greenhouse. Literally outside the restaurant was cooler than inside and that’s not an exaggeration. The food itself was alright. I ordered the harissa benedict and the only qualm I have with it was that the eggs were almost hard boiled and not runny at all. There was a lot of chorizo on it and the mushrooms were great, however I don’t think I’d pay £14 for it again.

A lovely brunch, but nothing special. We ordered the granola bowl, some toast and some bakes to take home. The sourdough was lovely (although the jam alongside is just a jar, not homemade), and the bowls were okay, albeit quite lacking on the fruit. The bakes we took home were really disappointing. The biscoff cruffin had no biscoff 😅 and the chocolate chip cookie was completely tasteless. The setting itself was lovely, a great spot to meet for a coffee.

I love medicine bakery so I was chuffed to find it open on new street just a walk away from the office! Lunch was delicious! I was excited to have my usual fried chicken but they ran out!!??? Shockkkkk! But hey I got to try something new and went for Turkish eggs! Delicious and very healthy. Lovely space and atmosphere! There are individual tables and sharing tables so make a note of what you want on your booking if you’re fussy!

First time here for breakfast . Very smart place in the mailbox Birmingham. Menu good with lots of lovely choices. My choice-sausage brioche with a side of hash brown. Very tasty. 😁 Rooibos tea. ☕️ Group of four. Made reservations but not really needed. Good service. Comfy seats. Nice clean space. Bakery section cakes etc looked amazing and took selection home 🤣🤣👏 There are other locations in the city 😁 Toilets nice and clean. Child friendly. Disabled friendly. Wheelchair access. Nice smart breakfast/ brunch spot. Recommended 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The Medicine Bakery is a staple for those who brunch in Brum. The food is excellent. Well priced. Generous portions and overall delicious. From street level up the stairs you are greeted with a take away counter for loads of baked treat and bread which look and smell amazing. You then have a small hallway with bench seating where the coffee are made which did get a little congested as it’s so popular. We did book which I thoroughly recommend to not have to wait for a table. The dining room is large. Bright and airy with high ceilings, loads of green succulents and gallery walls. Current exhibition is a photography collection of black culture in the UK. Lots of bench style seating down the middle which means you may share the bench with others (something which never bothers me) The service speed is what lets the venue down. The coffee is excellent but always takes a long time to come. This has been a consistent issue with all my visits. The food is delicious. Beautifully cooked and seasoned. Though offering black pepper from a mill and not powered would be expected in a place like this. Overall it’s great with slightly nonchalant service. Book ahead and make sure you have a hearty appetite.

Grand Central Kitchen is a small, cozy restaurant located on Stephenson Street, opposite Grand Central Station. It's known for serving classic English breakfast dishes such as full English breakfast with bacon, sausages, omelette, tomato, mushroom, baked beans and toast. In addition to their breakfast menu, they also offer a variety of sandwiches, wraps and pizzas. Despite its small size, the venue has gained an excellent reputation for its mouth-watering breakfast options and warm atmosphere.
Want great tasting food, no fuss and brilliant service… then this second to none cafe is unmissable!! It would be a mistake to stay in your hotel and not venture out to this flavoursome location!! The service is rapid! Food is served hot!! But the coffee… wow!! The regular flat white is a full cup of coffee… and better tasting than your chain coffee houses!!

I'd give 6 stars if possible. I was seated quickly, served without fuss, my food exceeded expectations and was reasonably priced. Great coffee as well. There's no reason to go to a chain breakfast place in Birmingham over this place, in my opinion. Support independents!

Really enjoyed this cosy little cafe. Right behind the station which is so handy and convenient. It was also conveniently located beside the metro station. There was a queue on the Saturday morning, so beware but the queue moves quickly. Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and are more particularly friendly to wheelchair users. Would highly recommend this cafe for the staff alone!

Visited this delightful little cafe on Saturday 8th November, which is very close to New Street Station. Never have i had to queue to get in to a cafe, but the wait wasnt too long. A cosy welcoming little cafe seems family run and the staff are very nice and friendly. We opted for the Full breakfast at £14.95, with 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 poached eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans and 2 toast, you are able to have omelette instead of the poached eggs. They have an extensive menu and watching all the different food coming out, all of which looke delicious. Our breakfast certainly hit the spot before we went shopping and all the ingredients were fresh and good quality, my wife commented that her sausages were the best she had in ages. A very nice little old school cafe which is well worth a visit. Not many of these quaint cafes left. The only reason i gave 4 stars was i dont like mushrooms or tomatoes.

Straight after getting off the train at Birmingham New Street yesterday, I popped into Grand Central Kitchen for some breakfast. Gotta say, I’d never had eggs and cheese like that before – absolutely delicious! The staff were so friendly too. Special shout-out to the Iranian girl who was lovely, and the bloke (can’t remember his name!) who recommended some spots for me to check out in Digbeth. Loads of cool places to explore, so thank you both for the tips! To be honest, I was a bit knackered when I came in and probably could’ve done with a nap right there and then. If I hadn’t been so tired, I’d have been even more buzzing about it all, haha. Anyway, cracking little spot – I’ll definitely swing by again next time I’m in Birmingham. Matee, I'm minging. Bloody love yaouw' 🤣

I had a meal at Grand Central Kitchen recently, and overall it was okay. The prices were fair, especially for the central location, which I appreciated. The staff were friendly and service was quick. That said, the food itself didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The dishes looked good, but were missing a bit of flavour – just felt like they needed a bit more seasoning or something to bring them to life. I’ve definitely had better meals elsewhere in Birmingham. Still, it’s not a bad spot if you’re nearby and need a bite – clean, convenient, and decent value. I’d give it 4 stars overall, mostly for the service and price.

Nestled just south of Birmingham, Becketts Farm is a delightful destination that has been serving up fresh, locally-sourced food for over 80 years. This family-run farm in Wythall prides itself on its commitment to bringing the joys of farming and fresh produce closer to the community. With an inviting restaurant offering hearty breakfasts, comforting Ploughman’s lunches, and traditional roasts, it’s a haven for food lovers.
We went to visit the Easter Marquee at Becketts farm. At a cost of £3 per person it was a really budget friendly afternoon out. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed seeing the animals and potting her own sunflower seed. There was quite a few things to do and it was well organised. The farm shop and restaurant are also great to visit.

A great farm shop with a huge range of products, many of which are local. They even have a good range of craft beer! We had breakfast in the restaurant, which was excellent! More than i could manage to be honest. We visited when the sunflowers were in bloom so were able to walk through the sunflower field which is a great experience. Well worth the visit!

We recently visited Becketts Farm Shop and Restaurant and were thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The farm shop itself is a delight, packed with fresh produce, homemade breads, and an array of cakes that all look and taste wonderful. Everything feels authentic, high quality, and lovingly prepared. One particular highlight is their pulled pork baps, which are absolutely incredible hearty, full of flavour, and the perfect treat on a cold winter’s day. The restaurant and café are just as impressive. I often return especially for their award-winning breakfast, which really is something special. The portions are very generous, almost too big as I have never actually finished one, but every bite is delicious and well-cooked. It’s a real treat to start the day with such a high-quality meal, and I can see why so many people rave about it. What makes Becketts even better is the atmosphere. The café is warm and welcoming, the staff are consistently friendly and attentive, and the whole place has a wonderful buzz to it. Whether you’re shopping for local produce, enjoying a quick bite, or treating yourself to a full breakfast, Becketts Farm is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended but definitely book ahead!

We had heard so many good things about this place and their wonderful display of sunflowers and it didn't disappoint. The field is free to walk around and for photographers or just to enjoy is a treat. The day we visited the flower heads were hanging low perhaps as a result of all the much needed rain we had. Either way it is well worth a visit as the field is huge and packed with flowers. We also went to the restaurant and enjoyed one of their sandwiches which are stunning. They are great value as they are huge and supplied with chips and salad. The farm shop is well stocked, with in-house bakery, sandwich shop, gift shop and butchers. There is a large free car park on site and with it being easy access from junction 3 of the M42 is well worth a visit.

A little hidden gem over on the other side of the city centre. Massive portion size (loved it!) and delish. Favourite parts are the gravy and the cheese sauce. The beef was a tad dry but this is purely based on personal taste and preference. Still big thumbs up. The team is friendly and attentive; the environment is chilled. Would 10/10 come back as there's so many other dishes on the menu that I'd love to gobble up. Nom nom nom.

I don't usually rate takeaway services on Google however I thought it'd be worth doing for this little place as it's one my partner and I order from a decent amount because it's hard not to crave this place, they're warm, comforting and filling with their meals. Each thing is filled and seasoned with care and it's addictive enough to come back regularly and not get bored. The amount of vegan options this chain do really set an example for other chains as they not only do a lot but also they match up to the quality of the options offered for non-vegans instead of just throwing vegetables together and hoping it's decent. This is a chain who actually consider the dietary needs of people who are outside of the omnivorous diet alongside those within it. Would 100% reccomend going here if you have a party with different diets as everyone will leave full and satisfied.

This delightful spot boasts an elegant dining area with large windows that showcase stunning views of the rolling hills and the farm's Hereford cattle grazing peacefully. Special thanks to Ruth, Holly and the team for making sure we had a great meal and for accommodating a special dietary requirement by adapting the menu. Nothing was too much trouble. We visited The Barn one afternoon and had such a lovely experience. I ordered the fillet steak, which was perfectly cooked — tender, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. My partner chose the rolled pork belly, which was crispy on the outside, soft and juicy inside, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, and since it wasn’t too busy, we could really relax and enjoy our meal. The views from the restaurant are beautiful — a perfect backdrop for an afternoon meal. Overall, great food, friendly service, and a stunning setting. We’ll definitely be visiting again!

Absolutely beautiful location within 15 mins of the NEC. Rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable (only thing missing was a glass each in the bathroom). The staff are all very friendly and helpful, will definitely come again if we find ourselves in the area.

We absolutely love this place we come every year for our anniversary, and the food is always excellent with fantastic service to match! It’s just a shame that this visit was slightly overshadowed by a couple behind us who decided to make a scene with a wonderful supervisor named Shannon (who, I have to say, handled the situation brilliantly). As a General Manager in the same industry, I was so impressed with how she dealt with it calm, professional, and completely composed throughout. She truly went above and beyond, and I can’t compliment her enough. It’s such a shame when people feel the need to complain unnecessarily, especially when the team are clearly doing everything they can to make everyone’s experience enjoyable. Still, we’ll absolutely be back again next year this place never disappoints!

Table of 7 which all of us ordered a roast dinner. Only two sharing bowls of veg were provided which wasn’t a lot when it was spilt out. A beef had to be sent back as it was well done rather than medium rare as requested. Boston tea party is a medium sized chain of coffee shops in the midlands and the south west of England, from previous visits at their branches down in Bristol I expected the coffee to be good. I paid the Solihull branch of Boston tea party a visit on the 19th of September 2025. I chose to buy a takeaway flat white, whoever reads this review please note that Boston tea party have banned use of disposable takeaway cups 4 several years now, they do have reusable takeaway cups there for a fee, I anticipated this so the photograph of a flat white in this review is in my own reusable takeaway cup. They still serve a bespoke blend from @extractcoffee and it still tastes the same as it did the last time I paid a visit in 2017! A staff member said that I was in for a treat, I said I'll be the judge of that! And the judgement is it was quite good!

My wife and I visited Boston Tea Party for the first time and had an excellent experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made a big difference. The environment is chilled out, relaxed, and full of character—perfect for unwinding or spending quality time together. The food was absolutely amazing—fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. You can really tell they care about quality. What also stood out was how it’s a great spot to get some work done. The calm atmosphere, comfortable seating, and laid-back vibe make it ideal for focusing without feeling rushed. Highly recommended for great food, great people, and a great place to either relax or be productive. We'll definitely be back :)

I visited Boston Tea Party recently and ordered The Boss Breakfast — which was delicious — but what really made my visit stand out was the incredible service from Alec. From the moment I walked in, he was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that I had a great experience. Alec struck the perfect balance between being professional and personable — checking in at just the right times, making sure everything was spot on, and even having a great sense of humor that made the morning brighter. You can tell he takes pride in what he does, and it honestly made all the difference. The food was great, but Alec’s service is what will bring me back. Huge thanks to him for turning an ordinary breakfast into a really enjoyable start to the day!

I had a great visit to Boston Tea Party in Solihull today. The scrambled eggs and avocado on toast were excellent – fresh, tasty, and really well put together. Our server, Nyah, was brilliant – friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. I also loved the decor, the music, and the relaxed vibe of the place. All in all, a perfect spot for brunch and definitely somewhere I’d come back to.

Gourmet Food Kitchen offers a variety of dining experiences for special occasions. The al fresco supper club in FarGo Village provides a fine dining menu in an open-air setting, while the Earlsdon Supper Club just outside the city center offers tasting menus with unique dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. Coombe Abbey, located just outside the city, is perfect for afternoon tea or lunch on its terrace amidst beautiful grounds.
I feel so lucky to have experienced the magic of the Gourmet Food Kitchen in Fargo Village, Coventry. My visit in March was a belated birthday treat, and what an unforgettable gift it turned out to be! This intimate dining experience is truly one-of-a-kind, and it’s incredible to think such a culinary gem is right here in the heart of our city. The restaurant is the brainchild of Tony Davies, a local chef with a world-class pedigree, having worked in some of the best kitchens across Europe. Now settled in Fargo Village, Tony has created a unique and personal dining space where just 12 lucky guests share a chef’s table experience (bring your own alcohol— helps the wallet!). It’s an up-close and personal way to enjoy Tony’s passion for food. What made the evening even more special for me was Tony’s thoughtfulness and attention to detail. I have food allergies, which can sometimes make eating out a little daunting, but Tony took the time to accommodate my needs without compromising on flavor or the experience. It was clear he genuinely cares about his guests and wants everyone to enjoy the meal to its fullest. The tasting menu we enjoyed that evening was absolutely stunning. From the creamy Celeriac Veloute paired with Lincolnshire Poacher Rarebit to the tender Duck Breast with Cherry Sauce and the most divine White Chocolate and Vanilla Cheesecake paired with a tangy rhubarb sorbet, every bite was a revelation. Tony’s creativity and expertise shone through in every dish, blending flavors with confidence and flair. One of the most refreshing aspects of the evening was how relaxed and welcoming the atmosphere was. It’s rare to find fine dining that doesn’t feel intimidating, but Tony’s passion for great food comes through in such an honest, friendly way. Being able to watch him work and hear a little about the dishes made it all feel even more special—like you’re part of something unique. Coventry is so lucky to have Gourmet Food Kitchen. It’s a truly exceptional dining experience that rivals any top restaurant, yet it’s grounded in a way that makes you feel completely at home. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just looking for a dining adventure, this is the place to go.

Fabulous evening at Coventrys Gourmet Food Kitchen with Chef Tony & his wife Debs. It's a tasting menu with a maximum of 12 people sat a one large table. You get to chat with the other guests & with the hosts as the restaurant is lovely & intimate - like being invited to a dinner party, where you have a view of the kitchen. Bring your own booze as it's not able to provide bar facilities. This is great, as it keeps down the cost & you know you are going to enjoy the drinks - you brought them! Glasses, bottle opener & water are provided. Now to the food, each dish was delicious but I'll let the photos do most of the talking. So many processes & so much work goes into each one. As an example, the Home smoked Duck- smoked in a aged oak whisky barrel. The Duck croquettes- Confit leg of Duck with a Duck reduction. Portion sizes are generous for fine dining but luckily my son was there to help out as my appetite couldn't finish every dish. When it came to the dessert - sublime Lemon tart, with just the right amount of sharp to sweet for me, I had to concede & took home some of the Lemon tart with the Honey Tuelle & the petite fours. Far to scrumptious to let my son have, besides, he was pretty full by then too. This was my 2nd visit & I will definitely return again for the fine dining. Haven't tried the other menu's - Such as Breakfast & Fish & Chips but fully intend too.

One of the best dining experience. Loved every single dish. Well balanced flavours from start to finish. Generous portions too. Excellent service from Tony (chef) and Deb (wife). Unique dining experience unlike other establishments- you’re actually sat in a long table with other guests. You can bring your own booze/ drinks. But they do offer coffee/ tea with our last course- petit fours (chocolate made in-house by the chef). There’s lots of shops around the corner that sells liquor- so you can easily get them before your meal. Added a few more new photos from other visits. Again, the food was equally amazing! You’ll never be bored of their menu as Tony manages to come up with new menu every month! They also started bagels for morning/ brunch. The fish fingers and beef bagels were to die for! Freshly made in house!

Wow what a gourmet experience. Went here on Saturday for my birthday. Hosts were amazing everything ran like clockwork. Food was so tasty and full of flavour. The way the flavours were combined and showcased. The lamb was melt in the mouth. Can recommend a visit. We will be returning.

A must visit for their delicious bagels and coffee. Their smoked salmon bagels are amazing, curing and smoking their own salmon on site.

Wow - what a fantastic place. Recommended by a friend we went for my husbands birthday with friends and weren’t disappointed. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, oh and the food was amazing! The chef introduced each course to the 12 dinners explaining a little of the work that had gone into its prep. It tastes A-MAZ-ING! Great fun evening with fantastic food - we will be back!

Really delicious homemade food. Everything was made by hand, from scratch, and tastes great! Tony (pictured) has been a resident at Fargo from very early on, and has expanded significantly from those early days. Today I got to try his home cured bacon, smoked salmon, and pastrami, and they were honestly to die for. The flavours and the experience of eating these things was excellent. I can't recommend enough that you give this small gem of a restaurant a go, especially in the daytime when its quieter. Tony also has exclusive gourmet evening events the first Friday of each month that you can book in for, and with a specially curated set menu. Places fill up fast, and there's an example menu in my pictures. Great food, great flavour, well imagined and executed. However, not suitable for vegans really. Best for the omnivorous epicureans.

Tea house
The Edwardian Tea Rooms, located within the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, are a popular choice for both museum visitors and casual passersby looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a meal or warm beverage. The cafe's grand atmosphere, with its high ceilings and historical artwork, is balanced by comfortable seating that creates a welcoming environment. It's an ideal place to gather for afternoon tea with loved ones. The staff is known for their friendliness and willingness to accommodate special requests when possible.
Service friendly, cakes a little boring, soup good. Retro tea pots. Superlative environment.
John N — Google review
The majority of the food menu is sandwiches (or sandos, as they call them). Interesting fillings, but the doorstop bread is a Japanese milk bread. A floury odd tasting bread that ruined the experience. I ate the fillings but left the bread. As we left, I noticed that almost everyone who had sandwiches had left the bread too. There should be a choice of breads.
Martin J — Google review
Very nice venue inside Birmingham Museum and Art galleries. Nice atmosphere. Full crowded and serving most of sandwiches which is good for lunch. Very poor service. Wait up to 25 mins for just cuppa coffee. Not worth to wait that long when you can get out somewhere within 3mins. These days time is everything.

I visit Birmingham at least once a year and I couldn't wait to come back after a couple years of closure. Unfortunately I couldn't have my favorite, cream tea, as they didn't have scones, but I still enjoyed a lovely victorian sponge and pot of tea. The ambience is truly relaxing and cosy, just as I remembered it.
Paola S — Google review
Is it the best coffee place? No but it’s good enough. The room looks great and spacious. The staff and drinks are fine.
Theodora A — Google review
I love the actual area of the tea room, so light and airy but I was disappointed with the menu choice today. Only soup and 'Sandos' available and the Sando only has 5 options, only one of which is vegetarian. The bread is also a thick milk loaf which is way too thick to make a decent sandwich. A very strange choice of bread when that is the only food you offer. Not sure I'll be back with such a limited strange offering.
N F — Google review
The Edwardian Tea Room is fabulous for a warm afternoon tea with family or friends. The staff were very friendly and took our request for pescatarian sandwiches. However, keep in mind that they have a different menu of sandwiches everyday and they may not be able to entertain such a request everyday. The whole place has a semi-vintage vibe and the gallery has a roof that allows a lot of sunlight to come in which makes it a wonderful experience for a sunny day.
Ammar A — Google review
A shame to Birmingham Museum! If I can give 0 star, I would! I took my friends to Edwardian Tea Room due to the good reviews on Google and we are left feeling disgusted! With the location, I expected that it will be expensive but £8.95 for a cream is still extortion. The scones is tiny and because they have been microwaved, they are very chewy. Strawberry jam is the cheapest jelly you would find. The cake feels like standard frozen cake you get from wholesaler and not freshly made. But the worst thing is hygiene! We asked for plates and they came with butter still haven’t been washed off. We have to return the tea strainer because the tea still haven’t been washed off it (please see the photo). My cup of coffee has coffee sticking all over the plate. The metal teapot (I know that it’s the style) is rusty and has hold on it. Don’t even bother to order panini. Panini came pre-packed and the staff just throw the package all over the counter. There is no order, no hygiene & no standard and this place locates right inside Birmingham Museum. I am ashamed to bring my friends who came to Birmingham for the first time to this place. Last but not least, trust other low review because they’re all correct. You wait on the queue for 15-20mins and then wait another almost 30 minutes for your drink. I don’t blame the staff. The staff looks like they’re overworked and understaffed. whoever the manager is, they clearly should have hired more people to cope with the high volume of customers rather than providing bad customer service, low quality food with absolutely no hygiene standard while extorting you for such a ridiculous amount of money. An update: 1 hour later after we came back, we have had stomachache and I’ve thrown up. I think this place really needs to be inspected for hygiene

Laghi's Deli is a cozy Italian eatery located in the Edgbaston Village neighborhood, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere with its wooden furnishings and friendly neighborhood vibe. This award-winning deli is known for its authentic Italian cuisine made from the best ingredients sourced from Italy. Whether you're craving a traditional cappuccino or homemade Italian dishes for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Laghi's Deli has got you covered.
Dinner. For Stuart Deeley new menu launch. Stuart, who was Master ChefThe Professionals Champion 2019, has been appointed executive chef of this delightful Italian restaurant in Edgbaston. Along with head chef Patrick Huckins, they have created a whole new menu. Us being Stu's greatest fan boys,we just had to get booked in to see his latest creations. Everything was so tempting that we could have ordered the whole menu but decided to be sensible. Maybe leave something different to choose for the next time. Started with a snack Bombolone, Red onion marmalade smothered in Rachael Reserva cheese. Three small plates Courgette and ricotta Fritters with Lemon and a dip. Pig's head fritters with a Basil Aioli. Barbecued Queenie Scallops with Espelette Sauce, which were cooked perfect and absolutely delicious. You can't come to an Italian without having a pasta dish. And what a dish it was 'Nduja Campanelli. Pasta that looks like chanterelle mushrooms cooked al dente, the proper Italian way with one of the tastiest sauces we have ever eaten. Plates from the Barbecue Onglet with a Salsa Verde and Whole Plaice with warm tartare sauce, plus a side of Polenta chips, Pecorino. There was no way we were going to miss out on a dessert or two. You know it makes sense. Fried Pannetone Bread and Butter pudding ,milk gelato and what is sure to be a must for every diner, the Tirami-stu.WOW! To end a very impressive meal, we had two perfectly made liquor coffees in the bar area.As we said our goodbyes and thanks to Stu and the team for a very enjoyable evening in Brum.

This used to be my favourite Italian to dine in birmingham. However, unfortunately the new rebrand has meant there's a slight dip in the quality of food. It's still pretty good but it's no longer as exceptional as it once was. The menu has shrunk a lot and there isn't many variety to choose from and overall I didn't feel it was as good as before
Sarish M — Google review
Food overall was pretty good and tasty, only gripe is the portion sizes are very small, especially the sharing portions, pictured above. Service was really good, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes. Atmosphere is nice and would be better but I had the unlucky experience of going at the same time with tons of screaming kids, running around all over the place.

We have loved Laghi's for quite a few years now and we really loved the sound of their new venture into more of a casual fine dining approach. However, I don't think it has come together as successfully as we'd hoped. We found ourselves really missing the rustic charm of a family-led Italian restaurant at reasonable prices. We never had a bad dish at the old Laghi's, everything was always well cooked. Sadly, our experience the other night was more mixed. That's not to say it was bad, the servers were polite and friendly, the food was overall tasty, but considering the price you're paying for the small plates and 1/2 pastas, you expect a lot more. Also, it is a lot more generous with the portions than it indicates on the menu—I'm not sure who could manage the 4 recommended plates! We took the advice and struggled to finish. Our favourite dishes were the seafood tempura and smokey scallops, both were divine. The cocktail I had, Granny's Apple, was awesome. The onglet was amazingly cooked but we were too full by the time it was served. Everything is served in tapas style, being brought out when it's ready, with the snacks arriving first. The olives were delightful as was the foccacia but the balsamic vinegar in the olive oil wasn't particularly nice. The dining style meant that we were left with a plate of meat without anything on the side. I understand wanting to create a casual dining atmosphere but we didn't really enjoy it in this setting. Some dishes were served in classic fashion with broad rimmed pasta bowls while others were served like gastro pub dishes with grease paper. It just felt slightly confused. We ordered one pasta dish, the 1/2 carbonara and while it was made authentically with guanciale, the fat wasn't very well rendered and it was extremely salty. Finally, we had a raw seasonal vegetable salad with pesto. This was a great refreshing option but we found the pesto quite bland, albeit well made. We were slightly let down too because we were given a dirty plastic glass for a drink and the table was sticky when we arrived at it. I don't think we'd go again because of the price to experience ratio. We felt like it was too expensive for what it was. But again, it wasn't bad, just pales in comparison to what it used to be.
Evie J — Google review
Been here a month ago. Was informed only seafood menus will be available which is absolutely perfect for a seafood lover! Overall food was good and worth the price. The only drawback is the fact that 99% of seafood we were having that night were raw. I will definitely give it a 5 stars if I ate something different. Not to mention it might enhance the flavour of the seafood too!
Jason F — Google review
The experience felt more Italian than any other Birmingham restaurant I’ve visited. I was humbled, greeted by a smiley, nervous member of staff I was led to a little table and chair in the corner of the dining room. There the staff introduced the specials. How many items can the short term memory remember? In my case, this number was exceeded. Thankfully I was able to grasp hold of a few. Of the dishes I ordered the calamari and pasta dishes were arguably some of the best I’ve in the UK. The only issues I had, given my visits to some of the city centres finest, were the lack of “showtime”, the execution of some dishes and the high price. It is a more sociable experience at Laghi’s, given its family roots. If you are looking for drama and prestige with a nod to Italian food you have to visit Legna.

Its place with natural charm and its so hard to find these days with all these chain restaurants around. Seems its run by family with good values and food recipes. Simple but lovely atmosphere, large menu and its changes often apparently depending what fresh ingredients they can get in. Service was excellent. A must try !

Yorks Cafe & Coffee Roasters is a trendy urban spot in Birmingham known for its rustic charm and carefully sourced homemade breakfast, hot lunches, and cakes. The cafe features exposed brick walls, industrial pipes, and comfortable stool seating around a large wooden bar. They roast their own coffee beans in-house and offer standout brunch items like poached eggs with cumin butter on toast, lamb kofta breakfast tagine, and Chicago honey fried chicken on a cornbread muffin.
Lovely spot for a hot drink or a quick bite. We visited on Saturday morning for a light breakfast. Their sourdough with a choice of spreads was tasty - we each got to try a combo of spreads with our sourdough (peanut butter & Jam and peanut butter and honey. Items and reasonably priced. We were lucky to get a table quickly and staff were friendly and attentive. It does get very busy here as it is a small establishment.

It's a great new cafe in Stephenson Street, overlooking the council house. The cafe was busy when we walked in, but they did manage to find a table for the two of us. The interior has the current trend of unfinished ceilings, where the air conditioning and electrical ductwork are exposed. We had a friendly & helpful waitress who engaged with us. The meals were lovely and tasty. My only criticism is that my meal wasn't that hot, but it didn't spoil the experience

Came for brunch on a Sunday. As a walk-in, our group of 3 only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. This place has a nice atmosphere and we weren’t rushed at all throughout our meal or after. The menu is interesting with interesting spins on some breakfast foods. There was some flexibility with some of the dishes, for example picking the type of egg for the house breakfast. Recommend this place for brunch, especially if you are looking for a place centrally located, near New Street station.

Due to being a frequent travel through Birmingham, i have always been wanting to see what Yorks Cafe was offering (I only wanted something to drink since i had a huge breakfast). I was greeted with a wonderful server who asked if i had any special requests or allergies, before coming around to take my order. The atmosphere was a nice vintage look inside. Personally I do love that style of environment. Moving on, they have a large variety of food and drinks and i tried one of their special lattes which had turmeric, cinnamon and ginger. The taste was unique and i had nothing like it before. It definitely refreshed my pallet. Overall, i am very pleased with the coffee and the staff and will definitely have to revisit within the near future. Thank you so much for your service.

I was in Birmingham for a City break with a friend and we discover York’s on google when we arrived at the Train station. Last Sunday we were starving after our journey coming from London so we decided to have a brunch. The cafe was very busy but we didn’t have to wait long to get a table, we ordered a Yorks House Breakfast which was so delicious, Fried chicken & French Toast with a beautiful sauce on the side and the Masala fries which were very tasty. Staff was really lovely and friendly. Also great coffee selection and perfect atmosphere for a Café. We went back again for more coffee and Avocado smashed and Feta cheeses on Toast, so yummy! Probably one of my favourite cafes ever!

Great venue, but get there early to avoid queues. Service was good, and I like that they take payment when you order so you can just get up and go when done. Food was good, but would not say as amazing as it looked, but that could just be my taste. The presentation was fantastic how ever! The only reason to drop one star was the coffee was not hot enough, again just my taste, but I could have finished it before my food arrived, ask for it extra hot. Well worth a visit.
Alyn A — Google review
Great food! Coffee was a bit cold to my liking - lesson for next time to ask for extra hot 😊 we ordered Turkish eggs & Arabian eggs, the dishes were flawless and the Greek yogurt was very well seasoned . Poached eggs were perfect as well as the bread was amazingly soft. Decor was quite rustic, could be improved especially with just one toilet. Although a good place in the city centre.

Popped in for brunch, after getting off the train at New Street Station. Great atmosphere of people working and just meeting up. A wide range of ages in there which I think says a lot about the quality of a place. That everyone is welcome and feels comfortable, whether young or more mature. The food was very good and the staff were welcoming and friendly .

Chase Farm Cafe is a bustling establishment where one may have to wait for a table, but the friendly staff make the wait worthwhile. The food arrives promptly, although some items like the sausage and bacon could be warmer. Nonetheless, all the dishes are delicious and most importantly hot. This lovely cafe is slightly pricier than its competitors, yet it offers a delightful experience with its play area for children and opportunities to see goats and chickens.
A Hidden Gem at Chase Farm Café! Chase Farm Café is one of those places that instantly makes you feel at home. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warm smiles, a cozy atmosphere, and the kind of hospitality that’s hard to find these days. The menu is fantastic – hearty breakfasts, freshly prepared lunches, and some of the best cakes and pastries you’ll ever taste. Their coffee is spot on every single time – smooth, rich, and exactly what you need to kickstart your day. What makes this café extra special is the setting. Whether you’re dropping in after a walk around the farm or just stopping by for a quiet bite, the views and countryside feel add a lovely charm. It’s peaceful, welcoming, and perfect for families, friends, or even a solo escape with a good book. The staff deserve a special mention – attentive without being intrusive, and always going that extra mile to make sure you leave happy. It’s clear they genuinely care about their customers. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. Chase Farm Café is more than just a café – it’s an experience you’ll want to return to again and again. Highly recommended!

Delightful venue, reasonably priced, decent food, poor coffee. We stopped here for breakfast whilst in the local area after seeing good reviews. Our experience was mixed. The venue itself is nice with a lovely outdoor courtyard which feels very much like being in a farm cottage garden, great on a sunny day. The staff were friendly and the service was relatively quick. The food was good, fresh, tasty, and very reasonably priced. The eggs were well cooked, the bacon was exceptional. We weren’t too impressed by the ‘award winning sausages’ which were average at best, and the beans were below average. The coffee however was poor. Both decaf and regular Americanos were bitter, watery, and lacking in depth and flavour, a result of either bad coffee beans, or more likely poor extraction from a poor espresso machine. It was also surprising being charged a 45p surcharge for oat milk when it was around 50mls on the side of an americano. I can understand such a surcharge for say a latte which uses 300mls or so, but a surcharge for a splash of milk is not something I’ve ever seen before. All in all, I probably would stop here for food again, especially on a warm sunny day, but I’d go somewhere else for coffee beforehand and avoid the coffee here.

I have lived in Sutton for about 15 years now, and only today have I been to this quaint place based on a recommendation from a close friend. The food was outstanding, well priced and the service received was that of a Michelin style restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble when asked for and they even had honey for my coffee. Well worth a visit. Thank you team for a truly enjoyable breakfast in the sunshine.

Very busy place. Had to wait for a table but was happy to do so. Staff really couldn't have been any friendlier. Food came out reasonably quick but the sausage was only just warm enough and the bacon was almost cold. All very tasty though and the rest of the items were hot. 2nd visit. Omelette and chips very nice but didn't like the salad as it had balsamic vinegar on and it had spread to the other items on the plate. Please leave it off and let the customer decide if they want it or something else (salad cream, mayo etc) instead.

“Someone knows what they’re doing behind that espresso machine” were my thoughts when I tasted the soy milk flat white. The cafe was next to abandoned when I rocked up at closing time on a Saturday (around 5pm). There is loads of seating inside and out of the rural accoladed Chase Farm. When it’s a Beautiful summers day I bet it gets really busy. I loved the farm shop with its local produce, more suited to the meat lovers out there.

Old Dresser Cafe is a hidden gem that offers a unique dining experience. The cafe's unassuming exterior resembles a regular terraced house, adding to its charm. We have been regulars at Old Dresser Cafe in the last 2 years. It's definitely a hidden treasure outside of Birmingham city centre! The authentic Polish food is what we love most! We were looking for somewhere to have breakfast and this place had really good reviews. I can honestly say that this is the best veggie breakfast and the Mrs said the best meat breakfast we have had in a very long time. It was cooked to perfection and the herbed beans were absolutely stunning. We had polish honey mustard that really added to the experience. The owner is the perfect host and was so attentive and funny. Next time we are in Birmingham this is definitely being visited again.

Good find for a local breakfast spot. The food was very tasty, black coffee was strong and served in good china. The service was top notch and the price was reasonable for what we ordered. £34.50 for 2 people. 2 entrees and 3 cups of coffee.

What a neighbourhood treasure! We went with a Polish colleague and enjoyed the most scrumptious, authentic dinner served in such pretty crockery. We especially loved the incredible flavours from the Hunter's Stew (Bigos) and the texture of the Meat and Potato Dumplings (Zeppelins). The owner has a great sense of humour and the cosy restaurant feels homely and comfortable. No wonder it's so highly rated on TripAdvisor. It's a bit far from the City Centre but well worth the effort.

Delicious Polish food! There are plenty of options for different tastes, a mix of English, Polish and European inspired dishes. My partner had Hunter's Stew and I had Potato Pancakes with Goulash. We shared our mains so we can try both dishes. Both were very flavourful and filling! The potato pancakes are freshly made, and the goulash was nice and rich, my favourite dish.

Our first visit to this lovely gem, I’ve passed it many times and was actually born a short way down the Bearwood Road. A very warm welcome from the host who has a lovely sense of humour. The decor is very cozy and like sitting in their living room. The food is amazing, mainly Polish but other dishes too. We had the fish pate followed by Highlanders potato pancakes which was simply amazing, great flavours. Finished with choc cake with another twist. Lovely ambience with nice music. An all round authentic great experience, will definitely be back !!

Beautifully homely dining room, with a great welcome from Rich and Rob. Home made Polish dishes served in hot and plentiful portions. Home made cherry vodka a gorgeous accompaniment to the Polish cheese desert dish. Not a huge menu, but that is welcome to me. The range is broad enough for anyone imo. I will be back. Highly recommended.

What a great random find this cafe was! Just out for breakfast and we decided to visit here. The gentle man who was very helpful worked around my vegetarian diet and the food that came was tasty. Service was prompt and food tasted fresh. Great place to come and eat. Enjoy.

The café boasts a bright interior painted in yellow and provides ample seating both indoors and outdoors. Visitors have praised the establishment for its delicious coffee, friendly staff, and relaxing ambiance. It serves as a perfect retreat from the bustling city life of Birmingham.
Stopped by and sat in for a hot drink and light crepe. Very tasty. Outdoor seating is available perfect for sunny days like today. I’ve been here before for a takeaway. Really enjoyed my little drink and snack. Friendly staff and they know their regular customers names and what they like. Very sweet. I’ll try the spiced Mexican hot chocolate next time. The one in the photo is coconut syrup latte. Delicious.

A good little mom and pops spot to stop off for a hot or cold beverage and watch the world go by. Very impressed by the variety of drink options on the menu and the price is very fair. Lovely team of staff - I felt very welcomed.

Great time at this coffee place. They offer a large range or sweet/ salted crepes and drinks with some specials. The lemon crepe was alright, preferred the jam and cream one which had more filling. The Mexican hot chocolate was definitely strong 🔥. Overall the staff is really sweet and it’s a cosy place. I would recommend the place

Coffee time was one of my favourite places to come and treat myself and chill out for a bit. The service is great and so is the food. I'm so sad to hear they've shut the whole precinct, this place is such a gem I really hope they're able to keep going!

This is NOT the "Best Coffee in Birmingham". It could be, with the right barista working the espresso machine. This quality could easily be improved with a little staff training. What Coffee Time does offer is nice service and comfy seating.

Great selection of sweet and savoury crêpes! The crêpes are really thin and delicious! The coffee is strong and the prices are low! There is outdoor seating if you like! The go to place to energise your morning!

One of my favourite coffee spots in Birmingham. Never disappointed. Very fairly priced and everything tastes yummy. Coffee, cold drinks, pastries, and the best crepes I've tried in Birmingham for such a reasonable price! Sweet and savory crepes available. I love the apple and cinnamon and the tomato and mozzarella pesto. Indoor and outdoor seating. If you haven't been already you're living under a rock.

Under Pressure Espresso is a popular coffee shop located in the upscale area of Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, UK. They proudly serve Workshop Coffee beans from London using a top-notch Victoria Arduino espresso machine. The menu offers a selection of espresso-based drinks and filter options. This independent coffee shop is known for its partnership with Morgan Coffee Roasters in Gothenburg, Sweden, and also offers freshly baked pastries daily.
Some of the nicest coffee I have ever had, echoed by my partner too, who is a self-proclaimed coffee snob so it must have been good haha! We sat in and there is a pleasant but peaceful vibe in there. I wouldn’t say it’s cosy, but it’s a great place to enjoy a coffee and have a chat / get some work done. The quality of the coffee is unmatched though, and they seemingly roast their own beans? I mean they have a roaster but we forget to ask as we left. Either way, outstanding coffee, worth a visit just for that. A flat white and a black coffee did the trick for us! There is a small cabinet of cakes and treats but we didn’t sample them unfortunately, but they are there if that’s your thing! The service was lovely too, clearly very knowledgeable guys who love coffee. Effect and chatty, it was a joy to drink here.

I like this little independent, relaxed, inclusive, unpretentious, friendly. A nice change from the big chains where laptops and fancy coffee is the norm. I’m not a coffee expert so I have my usual americano which is pretty good. The chocolate chip cake thing was nice but needs more flavour, if it was banana I didn’t taste it. Will recommend.
Paul J — Google review
An awesome local independent coffee shop with their own roaster. Coffee is great and the homemade cakes and treats are delicious. The folks who run Under Pressure are lovely. I’ve joined in a communal Saturday morning crossword a number of times and it’s the perfect weekend morning activity.

Amazing spot. You come here for the coffee, that’s it, and they know what they’re doing. Prices are reasonable, and the staff is very friendly. If I’d ever open a cafe I want it to be like this.
Muis — Google review
Firstly the coffee is delightful - I can only comment on their flat white, but it's a step above any other that I've tried in the area. Velvety, revealing, consistent. Secondly, the sheer number of books I have begun reading here, that I haven't been able to start anywhere else, is testament to the atmosphere the owners have created. With a quiet library feeling too much like school, and a house being home to chores and responsibilities, the people, the music, even the seating, help make a novel feel more like a short story. 10/10 - I could go on, but I have a book to read and another coffee to order.
Jay M — Google review
Great place for coffee (tea) and cakes and we’re always happy to support small local businesses rather than sharks. Coffee and cakes are far superior than other coffee shops and this comes at a great price too. The place is always busy so that’s always a good sign. Keep it up.

Lovely local independent. My oat milk was steamed to perfection (the texture was so perfect I thought they served me cows milk!!) lovely coffee and cakes with quirky flavours (ginger and rhubarb) and great value at £2.5 each. A must if you’re in Sutton town centre.

Gorilla Coffee Cafe in Birmingham is not your typical cafe. It's a unique premium bicycle cafe that offers rich coffee, delectable bites, and crafted beers. The menu features breakfast options like bacon, gourmet sandwiches for lunch, and decadent cakes and pastries. The diverse drink selection includes curated alcoholic drinks like the Chain Reaction Ale and Birmingham Brewing Co.
Was recommended to come here through a friend, we had been looking for a good cafe for ages. This is by far the best cafe we have been to in a long time. The service was amazing and the food was really really good. The owner was really friendly and informative and just a generally nice place to get some food. They also do deserts too which we had. 10/10. Also very queer friendly 🏳️‍🌈
C C — Google review
Our experience at Gorilla Cafe fell short of expectations, unfortunately. Despite hearing positive reviews, our visit left us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. High expectations were met with confusion as it wasn't clear where to order or find seating initially, making our entrance feel quite conspicuous. The lack of clear guidance left us somewhat ignored, possibly due to not being regulars. The food, though good, took longer than anticipated to arrive, and the overall pricing seemed a bit steep compared to other local brunch options. While the quality was commendable, there was a sense that it could have been better, given the reputation. Parking added to the inconvenience, as the cafe's location wasn't the most accommodating in that regard. The overall experience didn't align with the positive reviews we had heard, and we left with a feeling of disappointment, especially considering the initial high expectations.

I really like this place! A cute little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating with a concise menu, and good value. We sat outside and the interior fills quickly, the service was lovely and prompt food. I got the veggie breakfast which was filling and delicious. I would like some veggie sausage with my breakfast but they didn't have that on the menu. Unfortunately I can't comment on the interior or atmosphere but the seating outside was fine. The coffee was okay but nothing memorable. I will be returning to eat breakfast here again.

Lovely relaxing atmosphere with an area for the kids to get creative on a giant black board. For the cyclists amongst you, a full bike service or free advice on yr bike if like me - not been on a bike in years is available. If you rock up on yr push-bike, they have locks available for u to tether yr bike to outside. Recreational bike rides take place from here, just ask James. Oh yes, free wi-fi too

What a place, what a people. I remember when 🦍 first opened and I thought to myself 'Is Brum ready for a Cycle Cafe' the answer? An emphatic YES. The cafe is great, the people are wonderful but here's a particular shout out to the lads in the workshop (yes they have a bike workshop hidden away upstairs). I had a complicated job I needed done and it requires both skill, diligence and focus. Boy did they deliver! So so grateful. A truly great place!

The cafe prides itself on using independent and local businesses as much as possible, creating a cozy and inclusive space for all customers. With its interestingly-shaped space, high ceilings, and quiet basement that doubles the available seating, Bean & Leaf exudes plenty of charm.
Best coffee selection in Coventry. If you know good coffee, this is the place to go. They offer a new guest espresso monthly and serve various brewing methods such as a pour over (v60). Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great! I’ve been multiple times and brought friends who have also enjoyed their experience here. Latte art is always on point 😍

Lovely independent coffee shop in Coventry city centre, first time visiting and won't be the last now I've discovered it! Had the chai latte which was lovely (but after reading the reviews wish I'd tried the coffee - next time!) Also had the chocolate banana loaf which was delicious but maybe a tad on the expensive side? The place is small but cute and full of atmosphere, they have seating downstairs it seemed like also.

One of the best cafes in Coventry. I like the coffee beans they use, which has a fruity and slightly sour flavor. Cakes are also tasty, not very sweet.

Good little spot, nice downstairs. Often used as a place for Christians to hang out because of the connection to St. Mark's Church, but all are welcome and inevitably the staff are very pleasant indeed. I had a nice lemon and ginger tea my friend had a barista flat white with beautiful artwork so certainly there were options and quality was assured. We didn't go for the food this time but I noticed a sign saying there were vegan options.

I asked a friend who knows cov better than me if there were any nice cafes I could sit and do work for a short while. This was their one recommendation and I was not disappointed. Nice drinks and desserts, lovely atmosphere, the music was pleasant, and not overly loud, and there were plenty of plugs for laptops. It is a small place but wasn't overly crowded, and all the other customers in the downstairs area while I was there were quietly reading/working.

This little jem, hidden in the Coventry city center, serve me a very delicious sandwich today. I was around looking for a veg full English breakfast but I decided to try here in Bean & Leaf. I ordered a pot of mint tea and then a sandwich. So delicious indeed! As well, I enjoyed the nice background music which inspired me to pay attention and feel what I eat in every bite. Unforgettable experience here 🙂

Best coffee in Coventry. Delicious espresso with the coffee rotating regularly to give you a wide tasting experience. Cake also excellent. Prices v reasonable. Always stop by whenever I'm in Coventry city centre. Filter coffees also excellent and has the option for pourover too which is a rare plus. Nice atmosphere. Staff always friendly and helpful. Sometimes hard to get a seat but this is to it's credit as it's a reflection of how popular the place is, especially on a Saturday.

I've been twice this month, once to play Blood on the Clocktower which was amazing, I was really nervous going but the group we played with were lovely and once the game got going we had a lot of fun, I'd recommend reading up about the game before you play but Dan who was the storyteller was great and so helpful to us newbies, great fun evening. Also took my son during the day, we played Uno and then just selected random games to play, there's a huge selection. The staff are really friendly and made sure we had drinks and food and we spent 3 really happy hours playing games, no screens for a change and it was fab. Highly recommend. Food is amazing too especially the dirty fries 😋
Emma P — Google review
Had a reservation and it took about half an hour for someone to come take our order for food, and even then we had to go ask them for that. Food was okay, halloumi fries were nice, and the mocktails they had were good. At other board game cafes when you haven’t been there before they’ll show you where everything is and give you some recommendations, but we were just given our table and left to ourselves. This isn’t that bad, but then I saw some other staff being really welcoming and giving recommendations to another group, so I don’t know if it was just different between members of staff. There was a good selection of board games but some of them were old and had missing pieces, which was disappointing since they looked really fun. All in all, an okay board game cafe for the price you pay, but not the best I’ve been to.
Madihah C — Google review
I love this place. I was so into the games and distracted by how much I was enjoying that I wasn’t able to take a picture better than this one! I really appreciate the pricing, service, and range of games here. It is just wonderful - I don’t have anything bad to say. Only that I wish you had more branches so I could come more often as Digbeth is a little far. But if that’s the only problem then it’s clearly a great place. Can’t recommend enough. Truly a space made for you to have fun, be yourself, and just enjoy.

Visited Chance & Counters today with my partner and kids (booked for 2 hours, left around 8pm). Sadly, this visit was extremely disappointing compared to previous times. Service: The gentleman who took our order was fantastic. I am gluten free and he was very helpful and attentive throughout. He also noticed straight away when my burger came out on a non-gluten bun and took it back without me even asking — excellent service from him. Food quality: The kids’ meals were burnt, though they ate them as they were hungry. When my burger came back with the correct gluten free bun, the bun itself was burnt on one side, the patties were also burnt, and the chips that should have come with it were missing. Accused of lying: When I raised this with another young lady server, she went to check with the kitchen and came back saying the chips had already been sent. I was stunned. I then had to argue my case and point out my plate, as if I was lying and trying to steal food. Being accused of lying and stealing over a missing portion of chips was absolutely shocking and left me feeling humiliated. Manager response: I spoke again to the original server, who was brilliant and did what he could. He explained the situation to the manager and came back to tell me they had authorised a refund for my meal and asked if I wanted a replacement. I declined as by then I was too upset. What shocked me further is that the manager never came to speak with me directly at any point, even after overhearing what had happened at the till when my partner paid. The manager did issue some game time vouchers, but still didn’t come over personally. Overall experience: We spent over £80 on what should have been a fun family evening, but instead it was appalling, disappointing, and left me feeling accused of lying and stealing. What makes it worse is that I genuinely love Chance & Counters. I’ve visited before and even a few months ago my friend’s burger came out burnt and was refunded. I assumed the kitchen issues would have been resolved by now, but sadly not. I honestly cannot believe how poor this experience was and how badly it was handled. Hugely disappointing.

I work for an environmental charity, and we were planting 1000s of trees all around Coventry. And The Pod has been our official food partners through all the events. I went to them with a request for food that can be easily eaten by really muddy volunteers, who have been planting trees, and I came back to this amazingly luxurious platter of falafels and wraps, with tantalising herb dips and sauces. The food was just amazing. They were fresh, felt so homemade, comforting and delicious. They even delivered it to all our tree planting sites. And did I mention, our volunteers absolutely loved!! The entire team (front and backend) were also so lovely. I would definitely recommend them for dine-ins, as well for all your parties and events.

Lovely looking little coffee shop, but the service is a farce. Wasn’t particularly busy but waited 30 minutes for the most basic of drinks (a tea and latte) and they had clearly been sitting for a while given the temperature and how stewed the tea was. Feels like work is needed on the basics.

My wife and I recently stayed the night at the old crown pub for the night they don’t serve breakfast so we called in at the kanteen. The cafe was clean and friendly but the menu was very surreal I mean who wants martini on a breakfast menu ? Rather than a traditional breakfast there is harissa beans and chicken waffles . Really bizarre and not for us two breakfasts and two hot drinks in the custard factory is just to much at £30 💰. As we got closer to the railway station there were lots of cafes that offered much better value and I would suggest you do the same , sorry not for us 👎🏻 One star review is based on the price which was just too much for what was offered and a menu which needs to be more of a traditional one .

Ngopi Coffee UK is a Birmingham-based coffee shop that stands out for exclusively serving single-origin Indonesian coffee, which is roasted on-site. The establishment gained recognition in 2019 after showcasing the variety and quality of Indonesian specialty coffee at the Birmingham Coffee Festival. Following a temporary closure due to COVID-19, Ngopi reopened in July with an array of light Indonesian bites and vegan options on its menu. Despite potential wait times due to its popularity, visitors are rewarded with authentic flavors and quick service.
Ngopi Coffee was a lovely brunch spot to catch up with friends. We ordered a grilled cheese, scrambled eggs on toast, and Indonesian fried rice, with a Kaya toast to share. The flavors were well-balanced, and everything tasted freshly made. The toast was sourdough, which I don’t usually go for, but it was surprisingly delicious—crispy on the outside and soft inside, complementing the creamy scrambled eggs perfectly. The Indonesian fried rice had just the right amount of spice and was packed with flavor. The atmosphere was quiet when we arrived around 10:30 AM, making it a relaxing place to enjoy our meal. By noon, the café had filled up, creating a lively and bustling vibe without feeling overcrowded. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall welcoming experience. The only thing I would say is the table legs can get in the way sometimes, and the food comes out one by one instead of altogether, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. Ngopi Coffee is definitely a spot worth visiting, whether you’re after a peaceful morning coffee or a flavorful brunch with friends. Highly recommend!

Never been to the old one checked out the food in the new venue today and the food was extremely good. Had the beef rib special which was tender and sweet fall off the bone meat. Need to come back to try the chicken. Would say the indoor setting is more suited to the vibe of the golf venue it’s attached to. Think they should try to go for a more restaurant / Indonesian cafe vibe if possible as it’s a bit dark and more of a bar atmosphere inside.

Try to avoid lunch or rush hour though. We had their mains, sides and teh tarik. 10/10! They even have cute merch if you want to support them further. Thanks for the great food and service. 🙏

My friend & I always end up at Ngopi once a week! It’s the perfect environment to sit and talk for hours. The food and drinks are also very delicious.

It has moved into the golf place. It is not well indicated and it’s just a few tables upstairs. The food stays great, offering a variety of options; light meals, desserts, mains, vegan. The service is quick and staff is friendly.Price are reasonable. Overall I am glad it still exists in Birmingham but it feels strange to be sharing it with a golf place.

Deliciously authentic Indonesian food! The spice level is perfect for anyone who enjoys a kick but doesn’t want it too hot. If you’re an Asian spice lover, can definitely ask for extra spice. The beef is scrumptiously flavoured and has a lovely bite to it.

The bright space provides an inviting seating area for smaller groups to work or relax. With three locations across Birmingham, including Harborne and Church St, Urban is perfect for studying on the go or taking a break at nearby museums and green spaces.
Delightful light lunch and coffees here, in a warm and comfy setting. The Classic Bennie bap £8.95 and the soup of the day £6.95 were delicious. The sun was shining on our faces and it was bliss. Coffees were nice but a bit dear I thought £4.10 and it's 50p extra for decaf.

Just visited this new coffee spot and I’m really impressed! • The decoration is super nice – cozy and modern, perfect for relaxing or working. • The staff are great – very friendly and welcoming. • The coffee tastes really good, especially the cappuccino. Smooth and rich! • There’s a lovely outdoor seating area too, great for sunny days. It is a bit pricier than other popular coffee chains, but honestly, the vibe and quality make it worth it. Definitely coming back!

The food and coffee mostly hit the mark, but inconsistent service can really affect the overall experience. That can be a bummer, especially if you’re enjoying the flavors but the wait time or attentiveness isn't quite there, there is always room for better customer service!

Really lovely and bright spot in the JQ. Great for people watching and remote working with some delicious although slightly expensive food items. Lovely friendly staff and very relaxed vibe with some cheerful dogs warming up every visit!

The food was good, the location was good, the place looked great and it was a good find. The charter said they value gig customer service, so the person who served us must have been having a bad day. Later as they were tidying another table away, they really weren't happy about it. Think they need to find another job.

This place is so lovely. It's really relaxed, welcoming and the food is great. I get anxious going out, because you don't know how each business works from place to place, but Urban cafe has clear signage and instruction; you can take a seat, and order at the till when you're ready. This was actually really helpful to me. The staff are so polite and helpful. The place is clean, the menu options are great. My poached eggs were perfect! Honestly, can't fault it.

The Steam Room in Harborne is a popular coffee shop known for its excellent coffee and brunch menu. Locals love the selection of special teas, coffees, sandwiches, and adorable cakes including the must-try chocolate brownies. The place also serves alcohol and stays open until 10:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. With a cozy atmosphere tucked away in Harbourn's suburbia, it's a great spot to enjoy superbly made coffee using high-quality beans.
Excellent place, the quality of the coffee never changes. I think it's the best in the Kingdom, without exaggerating. Also, the people in charge of the place are extremely wonderful and very kind.

Corrections added; I have been frequenting this establishment for about Three months now usually for a coffee and if the bakery items look tempting a slice of cake, I popped into the Steam Room today at about 14:15 and ordered a Flat White and a Raspberry and Matcha Blondie which looked amazing, the young person serving duely lifted the glass Closhe and chose the smallest and lacklustre piece with no Rasberry or Matcha in sight, I asked the young person if they were the same cake as it looked like an end piece of Sponge cake, they replied "its from the same batch"! The young person looked at me incredulous that I had asked if it was the same cake, they reluctantly asked if I wanted to change it but was shocked that this person thought it ok to offer an end piece of sponge the only piece that looked like this for £3.50 a slice!! Needless to say I left it and will not be frequenting this establishment in the future.

the coffee was above average, the staffs were super kind. should note that they don’t do sandwiches anymore (asked and told they stopped serving it two years ago, but it is hard to adjust reviews on the Google map so there are still photos of nice looking brunch menus..)

coffees are great. the barista said he puts the same amount of shots in a large cappuccino than in a regular which is weird. also i filled the stamp card and ordered my usual coffee (extra shot and syrup) and was told i’d have to pay for the extra shot and syrup. Not quite in the spirit of a “free” coffee after purchasing so many and being a regular customer.

What a great little place tucked away in the heart of Harbourn's suburbia. These guys really know their stuff & make coffee superbly - batch brew (using what looked like a Bonavita brewer), chemex & espresso. They are using the fabulous hasbean beans (single origin and blend). I also would highly recommend their breakfast/brunch which was superbly done when we visited. Apparently pancakes are now on the menu...so will be back to try those no doubt soon!!

The coffee, cakes, and food are always great. I’ve been a customer here for years, ever since the place opened, and always enjoyed it and thought highly of it. However, over the last few months, the current staff seems to have a chip on their shoulder every time we go in. Between the looks of disgust / looking up and down at us, and the short answers, the place is slowly becoming sour due to the staff’s behaviour.

Cafe Artum is a unique and vibrant spot in Birmingham that combines a love for music and food. It's a newly established record store and cafe located on Corporation Street, just a short walk from New Street Station. The shop offers an eclectic mix of musical genres, creating the perfect atmosphere to enjoy your coffee. Recently relocated to Hockley Social Club, it now shares space with Digbeth Dining Club, making it part of a thriving creative community.
It is a spacious cocktail bar, with a very vibrant environment. There were enough comfortable sitting spaces both inside and outside. The decor of the shop made it an interesting place to visit. The stuffs were helpful, kind and welcoming. There were a manageable queue. Not much interesting option for snaks. I was looking for a non-alcoholic drink and the lady behind the bar suggested me to try the grape one. I tried it, and it was super good 👌 However the drink name Karma cola & gingerella really triggered me to buy but that lady said the best one would be the grape one. I recommend it too. Enjoy 😊

It's hard to find a place to drink good tea. Good blends and brewing are hard enough, but tea is also about atmosphere. I hit up cafe Artum and I'm glad I did. It's more than a tea shop (it does coffees, sandwiches, cakes, hosts a chess and book club, and has a great collection of music records on display). My blend was brilliantly balanced and my friend said the brownie he had was "top... top quality!" One of the owners is a friend of mine. I know him to be a man of ideas, passion, and a committed artist. It shows in the quality of what he serves- they're crafted. What really struck me though was how peaceful the shop was (I loved the soft lofi-esque music playing). Time moved differently in Cafe Artum. It's the perfect space to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre and the office. An oasis. Independent shops have character- this one especially. Do check it out!

Located in the heart of Birmingham, 200 Degrees Coffee Shop is a popular choice for coffee enthusiasts. The shop has two bustling cafes on Colmore Row and Lower Temple Street, near Grand Central. Embracing a rustic yet cozy aesthetic, the interior features brick walls, warm lighting, and comfortable dark wood furnishings. Visitors praise the inviting atmosphere and commend the flavorful lattes and flat whites. The staff receives high praise for their friendly service even during busy times.
200 Degrees Café provided a genuinely delightful experience on the day of Spring Equinox. Stepping into this café feels like entering a carefully curated artistic space, filled with warm lighting, wooden accents, and vintage-inspired decorations that effortlessly blend modern charm with classic elegance. I brought my own reusable cup and was pleased with how beautifully the barista crafted my flat white—a lovely heart-shaped latte art topped off my drink. The baked goods were invitingly displayed, with a tempting variety of vegan-friendly cakes and pastries, each presented meticulously under glass. Adding to the day’s personal significance, I had brought along some of my own calligraphy pieces to photograph, and the café’s thoughtful aesthetics provided a perfect backdrop. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the overall atmosphere felt cosy, inclusive, and ideal for relaxation or quiet reflection. If you appreciate coffee culture and a visually appealing environment, 200 Degrees Café is a must-visit. It’s not just a café; it’s a little sanctuary in the city, thoughtfully designed for aesthetic pleasure and moments of tranquility.

Popped in yesterday morning (around 8.20am) for a coffee and pastry. Lady on the till was absolutely lovely. Perfect customer service and made me feel so welcome and happy in the morning. Such a nice change, as so many coffee shops nowadays seem focused on getting you out the door as soon as possible. The coffee was delicious, pastry too. Student discount means it works out much cheaper than competing coffee shops and with much higher quality coffee. Plus, so so many vegan options here! Will definitely be back soon :)

First things first, the coffee is incredible, so many years I would go to the bigger chains, thank god I found 200degrees, never switching again ! I visited the coffee shop yesterday with my friends and was lucky enough to be looked after by Elena. She was so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. She suggested I download the 200 degrees app - something I haven’t thought about it - and it was such a great idea! Not only do I get rewards and perks, but it also saves me time and even helps me skip the queue when I’m in a rush. Such a thoughtful touch that shows how much she cares about her customers. Elena really went the extra mile to make our visit special, and that personal attention makes all the difference. On top of that, the drinks and food were absolutely delicious. Cat cafe
Cafe
Kitty Café Birmingham is a haven for cats and kittens in need of care and re-homing. The facility takes in rescue cats, strays, and those with medical issues until they find their forever homes. Visitors can enjoy the company of these adorable felines while sipping on drinks and enjoying some nice food. The café has a pleasant atmosphere, with friendly staff members who ensure that guests have an enjoyable time.
To be honest, since I moved to the UK last September, I’ve hardly had the chance to see any cats at all. I’m a proper cat lover, and up in Leeds where I live, it’s really rare to come across one, let alone get to play with them. So visiting Kitty Café in Birmingham was honestly like a dream come true. I loved every moment of it – being surrounded by such cute, friendly kittens brought back all those memories of playing with them back home. The cats here are absolutely adorable, and the staff are just as lovely too. Guess it’s true what they say: people who love cats tend to be really nice/adorable, haha. And at just £8, it’s an absolute bargain for such a lovely experience. Definitely worth every penny. Next time I’m in Birmingham, I’ll be sure to pop in again for another cuddle. I really do love cats so much! 🐾
Vincent S — Google review
The cats are sweet here, there are definitely a range of personalities - some are quite playful and others are a bit less sociable, which is okay. However even if you just pet a few particular cats, they scratch you or attempt to do so... perhaps an age restriction might be good, because we noticed multiple children who made the kitties look quite frightened. Besides that the food tastes amazing and the staff are very accommodating (thanks)! There are SO many brilliant choices on the menu, it was difficult to decide🐱
Hannah — Google review
Great atmosphere, lovely staff and so many toys and climbing shelves for the cats! The cats all seemed really happy and confident (my favourite was Milk), and there was a wide range of food and drink to choose from their menu. Would also recommend to anyone who is travelling by train as its right next to the train station xx
Helena K — Google review
This was a lovely way for me and my older children to spend an hour. The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed with plenty of laid back sofa seating and arm chairs. The drinks and food menu is all very reasonably priced. The cats are just adorable. The only thing that was frustrating was a couple of younger children who persisted to run at the cats and be very overbearing whenever they appeared which was intimidating for the cats. The biggest frustration was that the parent sat scrolling through their phone oblivious, letting the children get on with it which is really not appropriate. Inevitably one of the children was scratched and they left shortly afterwards which was a relief as there was only adults and older children left and the cats seemed to be immediately more relaxed. This is no way a criticism of the cafe at all and the cats are in their home environment and I feel that parents of younger children need to be more aware of this and accompany their children around and relay the rules to them so as not to overwhelm the cats. We will definitely be visiting here again.
Samantha J — Google review
I took my niece for her birthday and we had a lovely time. The staff explained everything really well. We had some food and cocktails while we sat in the cafe too. We saw lots of different cats; some were more friendly than others. The kittens were very playful!
Alex G — Google review
Visited the Kitty Cafe today, great little spot to grab a drink and a bite to eat whilst in Birmingham. There were over 20 cats to interact with, The team were very focused on animal welfare with a set of rules in place to make sure the cats are kept safe and happy. The decor was pretty cool too & the cats had a lot of space to move around.
Mitch — Google review
Never had an hour gone by so quick. Every cat was a delight and a unique personality, the layout was funky and fun and the blackcurrant blondie was delicious! Also just when I thought I'd seen all the cats suddenly there was more I hadn't seen 😲 Any pet lovers would enjoy this!
Michael G — Google review
The cafe on a whole was a nice place, with lots of cats and plenty of places for them to go if they didn’t want fuss. However I do think this venue should have a child free policy for kids under a certain age. I understand that the kids get excited to see the cats but I found that whenever I was approached by a cat it was chased off by an unsupervised child clearly not following the rules. Because of this the cats seemed anxious. The service was also very slow, our food took almost an hour to come, I understand it was busy but we only had an hour at the table. As soon as the food finally arrived we were approached by a member of staff telling us that our time was up and as soon as we finished the food we must leave, so we ended up not even finishing it. If you want to come here, I would recommend coming in school times so it isn’t filled with children chasing cats around. But I personally wouldn’t come here again.

Nestled within the vibrant Digbeth area of Birmingham, BRIG Café at The Warehouse is a delightful independent eatery that champions organic vegetarian and vegan cuisine. Just a stone's throw from the city center and near the iconic Custard Factory, this café offers a cozy atmosphere with wooden tables and chairs, complemented by an inviting chalkboard menu. As one of Birmingham's longest-serving vegetarian spots, it boasts an extensive selection of plant-based dishes inspired by seasonal British produce.
An incredible vegan cafe! I honestly didn't think vegan food could taste this good! Went for Sunday Lunch and it was delightful. Very quick and friendly table service, food arrived swiftly and are huge portions for the price. I very much recommend this place for a nice meal or raven just a coffee in the chilled ambience.

Warehouse Cafe has been on my agenda for a long, long time! I'm not vegan but have had spells of it in the past and had heard the food here was delicious and I can honestly say I wasn't disappointed at all! Considering the pandemic and the weight of restrictions facing many places, especially independents, I was ao impressed by the quality of the food! It may just look like burger and chips but wow... thkse chips are some of the best I've had - anywhere! They are so light and crispy, and lightly seasoned with herbs, soft in the middle... I ordered more! Then you get to the burger, perfectly toasted brioche with this amazing burger which was unlike any bean-type burger I've had before... with the melted vegan cheese that ACTUALLY tasted like cheese... this wicked sauce and fresh salad... with a fantastic vegan mayo dipping sauce... absolutely brilliant 👌🏾🔥 and the vegan oreo brownie... 🤤🤤🤤 can't wait to go back!!!

This cafe/vegan restaurant is really a gem! The burger was fantastic, one of the best I’ve had around! It’s a very chill, relaxing environment with a friendly staff. They have a great menu with options for all different plant based eaters, including desserts at the counter, drinks and specials. The food tasted fresh, was very flavourful and very well presented. It was also a really good amount of food for the price. I would definitely recommend checking it out!

The Warehouse Cafe is a gem in digbeth. Their vegan style banana blossom fish and chips & Vegan Kebab burger and chips meals were fantastic! They have a great variety of craft beers available and a wonderful selection of homemade cakes too. The Cafe's interior is pretty basic; there are sofas with a bookcase at one end of the room and basic chairs and tables around the rest of the room. This creates a relaxed environment but I can see how this would people off from visiting! I am glad I overlooked this minor detail and checked our their menu; the courses look and taste delicious!

There’s a really cosy feel about this place. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the products they serve. Had a Groupon voucher for my birthday from work buddies (2 x courses and a glass of wine for 2). The food (pictured) was delicious. Had to wait a while for it to arrive as the place was busy and everything was cooked fresh, to order. The street it’s in feels a little ‘edgey’ but couldn’t recommend this place enough.

What an excellent place tucked away near Moor Street station. Easy to get to and offering a great vegetarian menu with some vegan options thrown in. My food arrived looking beautiful and I was already planning my return visit while eating. Plus their desserts! As someone who usually refrains, seeing a banana cake on the Specials board was enough to persuade me. Absolutely delightful. Bring your friends.

Went for lunch with friends, speaking as a meat lover, aware that vegetarian foods cater to different tastes. Burger was ok for being a vegetarian meal, but it's noticeably dry (would've tried a different dish but it was not available that day). The chips are especially good. Brownie was strong, but also very dry which is only partly aided by the ice cream. However the consensus is their "Fish" and chips are good.

I eaten here many times with my kids and friends also with kids. As with all BTPs, the coffee and cake is very decent - I am partial to a flat white and the lemon drizzle cake. The food is great, with plenty of options for all diets and appetites, and the staff are always accommodating for our additional requests. I've never had a visit where the staff haven't been helpful and professional - no mean feat given numerous toddlers. There is a covered outdoor area with heating in the courtyard, which is great for containing said toddlers without worrying you are subjecting everyone else to our noise. There are some retained historic bits to the building which give it a nice bit of character - such as stone stairs slightly warn with use.

I was really excited to visit here following a recommendation from my wife and her mother, and I really was not disappointed. On arrival the staff were friendly and welcoming and we were quickly seated at a table, and provided with menus for food and drinks. The menu is quite varied and everything sounded so nice, I struggled to decide as it's not a type of cuisine I'm familiar with, but I made some choices based on the clear descriptions. Drinks were served quickly, and we had to wait a little while for food (this is clearly stated on the menu). When the food arrived, it was well presented in a combination of bowls and square wooden trays and looked very appetising. Everything I ordered was lovely, and everything I tasted from the rest of the party's dishes was equally good. I particularly enjoyed the lamb soup (I forget the menu name) but I had such a depth of flavour, it made me really happy. Desserts were chosen from a cabinet near the front of the store, and we're very enjoyable, again in line with the cuisine a little different from every day fare elsewhere. Particular mention to Lerla and Ferdi who provided excellent service the whole time we were there. Would I visit again, yes, most definitely, perhaps brunch next time as the breakfast menu looks exciting.

Highly recommend :)

It was just okay. Been there 3 times. Food not that impressive, small portions and different from what we expected. Especially shakshuka which felt like eggs served on watery, tinned chopped tomatoes. I ate shakshuka in many different places in the UK and abroad and this was the first time it came in this form. I expressed my opinion and got the answer from the chef that is the way they serve it. That's fine, it's their right to make own versions and I don't criticise your choice. It's just not the taste I was expecting or liked. The exterior is lovely, nice atmosphere, good table service and attentive staff.

Ordered 2 chicken shawarma wraps as take out and first they got the order wrong and charged me over £30! Then after sorting that I went home to eat it and found the worst chicken wrap I have ever eaten. As you can see in the picture its like eating boiled chicken with no flavour, chicken shawarma is supposed to have seasoning and a grilled taste. There was none of that and to make it worse it was doused in mayonnaise. No salad in the wrap. Just boiled chicken and mayo, I actually couldn't eat it after 2 bites. So disappointing, will never be ordering from here again. Much better and cheaper places on ladypool road and Coventry that know how to do chicken shawarma properly.

Amazing afternoon tea, service was good and friendly with it. It was busy with lots of afternoon teas being served, we went on a Saturday afternoon. Food was fresh and very tasty, great sandwich fillings and variety of cake to share. Great portions, we couldn't eat it all, but a box was available to take it home! Would highly recommend!!! Thank you team Gluttons! X

Thank you so much to you and your amazing team for the incredible afternoon we had yesterday! ♥️ Everyone had such a wonderful time, and the food was absolutely delicious. From my initial enquiry to the baby shower itself, everything was seamless, and the communication was fantastic. We weren’t the easiest group to cater for—with vegans, gluten-free, and nut allergies—but you handled everything perfectly. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another special event with you again. Thank you so much! Lizzie xx

Staff are lovely and attentive. I suggest that you have to go there very hungry because you will not finish it. But they box up what you don't have to take home. I will soon be back......

The best afternoon tea 🫖 Gluttons in tettenhall village has to be hands down the best afternoon tea… This quaint little tea shop screams delicious. The fresh sandwiches with an array of fillings and the most perfect scones you can have! The service is hearty and warm, I’m probably biased as I’m a true wolves by heart. But if you haven’t tried this place… you need to!

Wow!...wanted a hot drink and a sit down this morning. Firstly, I got the 'look' from toe to top, which made me feel I had walked into the wrong place.... I was asked to choose a place to sit. I sat, decided what I fancied and waited. Over hearing several different conversations, being looked at, etc. Not once did they say are you ready to order, we do it at the till now. So eventually I went up and said do I have to come up and order now, I thought you came to the table. No not done that for ages and you were told. Well, I'm not daft or hard of hearing and if that was the case I would of gladly approached the till. Well, I left. Just so very rude and hugely lacking in attention to detail with regards to customers, especially as there was only a handful of customers. Clearly would rather discuss fake eyelashes.. How sad in such a lovely village.

Cafe Maxsim is a popular BYOB restaurant and cafe in the heart of Wolverhampton's city center, offering a diverse selection of small and sharer dishes influenced by seven Mediterranean countries. Established in 2006, this cozy eatery has garnered positive reviews from both locals and visitors for its warm hospitality and wide array of top-rated tapas. The menu boasts over 43 Mediterranean dishes originating from Italy, Spain, Greece, France, Egypt, Turkey, Cyprus, and Mexico.
I've lived in Wolves all my life and have always wanted to check this place out and I'm so glad I finally did! What a little gem! All the reviews about the people who own/ run the restaurant are absolutely spot on! I felt like I had been welcomed into the nicest, most accommodating people's home - it was all so personal and genuine their approach. Nothing was too much trouble and you can see they cared about us being comfortable! The food was delicious, can't wait to try other things off the menu! I would have given 4.5 stars, only because for me, the calamari batter was a little too thick, a bit doughy... but I'm sure the next thing I try will knock it out the park! :)

Caffè Concerto Birmingham is an elegant Italian chain offering a diverse menu of traditional dishes, salads, and baked items. Known for its mouth-watering range of cakes, this café and patisserie has expanded from its eight London locations to open its first branch outside the capital in Grand Central. Visitors can enjoy rich and flavorful coffee and hot chocolate in a satisfactory atmosphere. The self-service café also offers tempting desserts, with credit card payments being the only accepted method during certain times.
Cafe Concerto is a self-service café where you order at the front before finding a table to enjoy your meal. We ordered three drinks: the Super Berry Smoothie, Passion Fruit Iced Tea, and Passion Storm Smoothie. The Super Berry Smoothie was sweet and refreshing, just as you’d expect from a classic berry blend. The Passion Storm Smoothie had a strong pineapple flavor with a subtle hint of mango, making it a tropical and enjoyable drink. The Passion Fruit Iced Tea was light and refreshing. The café was quite busy, yet the staff remained incredibly accommodating and kind despite the high-pressure environment. Their efficiency and friendliness made the experience even better. I’d love to come back and try some of their sweet or savory dishes next time!

Waiting an hour or so for a train, could see this place from the ground floor, thought it would be perfect to spend my hour! Escalators up but, there is a lift too just not so easy to see, as I had suitcases, that’s for me. Lovely pleasant staff, found my seat next to the glass railing with a commanding view of the bull. Picked from a good menu, tasted great, plenty of it, well presented. Coffee was good too. And you aren’t stuck in a shop, the people watching is great! I didn’t know the bill performs on the hour!! A very pleasant hour, thoroughly recommend.

We had a wonderful Afternoon Tea at Café Concerto. The service was at a high standard, being well looked after by Giuseppe and the team who kept our tea topped up and their hospitality friendly and informative. The food was flavoursome, the egg mayo sandwich a must-have! The spread was colourful and well presented, offering a wide variety of textures and fillings. The scones were soft, and the little patisseries were delightful. The tea selection is great, and you have unlimited refills. Being inside Grand Central, it's easily accessible and has a relaxing atmosphere, natural light all around with comfortable seating. Would highly recommend for friends and couples alike!

I stopped by Café Concerto while passing through New Street Station. The café itself was fine – decent coffee and a light bite, though I did find it a bit on the expensive side for what it was. That said, the atmosphere was lively and the standout was definitely the moving bull statue nearby – such a cool surprise to see that in a train station! It added a really fun vibe to the visit. Overall, not a bad place for a quick stop if you're in transit, but be prepared to pay a little extra for the convenience and surroundings.

Very cozy place with very pleasant service, the breakfast was really delicious though the portion was humongous so I wasn’t able to eat all of it. ⭐ Love Visiting This Quaint Café, But My Recent Experience Was Disappointing I’ve always loved visiting Brook House Coffee Shop, a small quaint place with six maybe seven tables and lovely food. Over the years, I’ve popped in for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and takeaway sandwiches, and I’ve recommended it to friends who have also enjoyed multiple visits. Just last week, I even took my granddaughter to enjoy one of their delicious cupcakes 🧁. A recent visit, however, was disappointing. I had tried calling to place an order but couldn’t get through, so I went in person to place it. The café wasn’t particularly busy, with around 40% of the tables free, yet after waiting several minutes the staff member finally acknowledged me. When I politely asked to place my order to be collected in 30 minutes, I was met with a sigh 😔 and a curt response that a table was coming in in 10 minutes. I said “It’s fine, don’t worry” and walked away without placing the order. As I walked away she mentioned something about calling me, but I didn’t feel it was necessary to continue the conversation. Perhaps she didn’t realise she sighed, but her tone was still sharp. I expect the owners would not be happy if they knew how staff were sighing at customers. I am always polite, as I work in retail and understand how challenging customer service can be. At the time, I thought the staff member might just have been having a bad day. I hadn’t considered writing a review at that point, but seeing a Facebook post 📱 from this evening prompted me to share my experience. The post mentioned that they’ve been the busiest they’ve been in the five years they’ve been open and stated that they do not tolerate customers being rude to staff. Firstly, the owner must be thankful that they’ve been the busiest they’ve ever been, and ultimately they should be, as it helps keep the business running and staff employed. While it’s understandable to be proud of success, the post comes across more as expressing personal frustration than addressing customer experiences professionally. Secondly, I was not rude but simply walked away, which I felt was the best response in the circumstances. If the café staff find it challenging to cope with the volume of customers, perhaps they need more staff or additional support to manage busy periods. In my experience, a smile 🙂 and a little patience go a long way. Taking a short break when feeling stressed can help maintain positive interactions. Clear and calm communication ensures that loyal customers continue to enjoy the café and leaves a lasting positive impression. Finding a way to vent frustrations to a manager rather than taking them out on customers is always the better approach and helps create a more positive experience for everyone.

We were heading to a convention in the area and stopped here for breakfast. We were a little early for opening but the lady was kind enough to let us sit and wait inside. It was good that we went in when quiet as we got to explore the art on the walls which is very eclectic and makes for good viewing. There's plenty of space inside and out. Parking is found on the side road or in the back but parking in the back is limited. Food you could order through the QR code on the tables or at the counter and we did both as some of the party weren't comfortable with technology like that and they also wanted to adjust the order. There was a little delay to my food but all due respect to our server, who came to advise that there was a small error in preparing it and it would take just a little longer. The update was really appreciated. Food came and it was tasty! Drinks were nice too. All in all a good place to visit but for a cafe I did find the prices a little expensive for what you get. But the service and food can't be knocked. Enjoy your visit here.

Visited today for the 1st time and the food is DELICIOUS An interesting setup - tall ceiling, funky colours and order on your phone. The options are varied and included some mexican flavours with guacamole, lime & coriander - all which i LOVE. The hash browns are unique to Boston Tea Party & really tasty. I had the sweetcorn hash - much crispier than the signature hash browns. Super delicious. The winner was the smoked salmon hash - wow. This is one to write home about lol. Its perfectly done. It’s that good that I’ve been twice within a few days…Friday and back again today! Lux cheese on toast is the best I’ve ever tried. Last time I had it with chips which are an unusual shape but cooked to perfection, taste lovely and great for dipping! Today I had it on its own with the sweet chilli sauce dip, as it’s still very filling. Always great service, when going on a one hour lunch break you need to make sure you can get in, order and eat and back to work again on time-the lovely lady even said we can call ahead in future to order to save even more time, although we have found we have ample time on the occasions we have been even with it being busy. Not the first time I've been but it is the last. I've been on a couple of occasions with a friend and our two 18 month old children. Both times we were made to feel unwelcome. The first time we went we waited for 10 minutes and no one had come to the table, so we went to order and were told 'if you sit down and wait someone will be over'. This took a further 10 minutes. This seems to be the general attitude of the lady behind the counter as we experienced it both times. However, the food was good. The first time we went, the childrens scrambled egg came with toast. The second time, we were made to pay extra for the toast. We said we wouldn't go again. However, as a glutten for punishment I've been again with my husband (as I said the food had been good previously) today. It wasn't busy, plenty of free tables. Our order was taken, drinks arrived with food. I'd rather have had my drink earlier but I appreciate some like their drink with the food so that is by the by. However the food was cold. My husband had a breakfast and I had a bacon, brie and cranberry baguette with chips. All of it was cold. At no point did anyone come and ask how our food was. When I went to pay, no one asked if everything had been okay. Nothing. I got charged just short of £30 for 2 cold meals and 3 drinks. Needless to say, I definitely won't be returning again. In response to the owner: we visited today (05.04.25). I appreciate that you offer table service, however, waiting 20 minutes for said table service is not good service.

Good home cooking, with meals freshly prepared. The menu is imaginative and the specials board is worth checking .... As are the curiously shaped chips.

This is a lovely cafe which can get busy so make sure tou reserve a spot. They have a lovely menu with specials and great drinks selection. The smoothies were the perfect consistency and the food presented and tasted great.

Have been frequently visiting Ghales over the past yr, meeting up with a couple of friends for brunch and we always book a table, my latest visit really impressed me as the owner recognised me and also said she recognised the voice of my friend who made the call. Definitely good customer service when you're acknowledged as a regular.

Italian restaurant
Cafe
Gustami is a family-friendly Italian restaurant located by the A4540 in a down at heel estate. The food is authentic and absurdly inexpensive, and the real Italian pizza margherita baked in their wood-burning oven is highly recommendable.
Came in tonight on a date with my boyfriend (we were unsure of where to eat and tried here for the first time), the staff are super friendly and welcoming! (They made the experience super enjoyable!!) the food was fantastic too, I had the spaghetti poplette and my boyfriend had a calzone and we shared some calamari!! The food is decently priced and I will definitely be coming here again :) thank you very much! There is a young girl that works there, I’m not sure of her name but she was absolutely lovely too!
Ella B — Google review
I came to this Italian restaurant for lunch today and it pleasantly surprised me. The environment was comfortable, the food was delicious, and the staff was very professional. They explained each food in detail to the guests, and their service attitude was of the caliber of a star hotel.

My third visit here in 6 months!! Lovely food, 10/10! Authentic, affordable Italian, proper wholesome family run feel, very laidback and excellent service from all staff. Could not recommend enough!! Sat in the outdoor terrace - great ambience. They let us sit and chat for hours, excellent hospitality.
Leyha M — Google review
Ordered the specials and it was so tasty, fresh and filling. One of the best calamari I have tasted in the UK. It wasn't oily, the batter was tasty and you could actually taste the squid. Highly recommend.
Jody L — Google review
Wondered where on earth we'd come to when the taxi arrived. I needn't have been worried though. Lovely little restaurant. Proper Italian feel to it. Great choice from the menu and specials. Lady serving us was absolutely lovely.
Stimpy G — Google review
Had two course meals each, dessert and a bottle of wine for a total of £78. The portions were more than abundant and the taste authentic. Not to mention the welcoming and friendly staff. I strongly recommend going.
S K — Google review
I came here for a quick solo meal, the food is authentic, arguably on the same level as sardinia and italy itself, the service was great and the staff friendly. You can't find a better Italian restaurant for the price in Birmingham. I shall most likely return
Seto — Google review
I just visited Gustami for the first time. I've probably spent a total of three months in Italy over the years, so I knew what I was looking for. I found it all at Gustami! The home made pasta was delicious and so was the pizza - a fantastic thin, crispy base with a sauce where you can taste the freshness of the tomatoes. To top it off, the service was warm and friendly. If you ww want to try real, amazing authentic Italian food, you'll love it here! Park in Tescos and walk round to avoid the low emissions charge.

Fabulous Nursery! Most plants grown on site, and they are weed free and well cared for. It's obvious that the staff love the place and it shows in their plants! There is also a wonderful garden to visit with some outstanding rare trees and plants. There is always a queue at the café don't be put off... it moves quickly and they offer some lovely meals and cakes. Well worth the visit.

My favorite Nursery for sometime, everything you could possibly want, the gardening book section is immense, and also you can see plants growing in their production area. It's a gem of a Nursery, visit it soon you won't be disappointed.❤️❤️Love it.

We went on a Saturday to specifically visit John's Garden. This is a wonderful garden to walk around. You could spend a whole day here and glean a lot from the gardeners tending the beds. My sister tells me it is totally different in the other seasons. The Garden Centre is beautifully set out with stunning plants and ornaments. The restaurant, although busy, is well worth visiting.

Beautiful place. Lovely show gardens and plant information was great. Little bit pricey but quality very good.

Little afternoon trip for a spot of lunch. Best jacket potato ever. With lashings of cheese and beans. Sat outside in the beautiful gardens 😍 Excellent gift shop with an amazing card selection. Plants 🪴 galore left with a box full. Definitely worth a visit

Fab selection of plants BUT every single house plant we've had from the reduced section has had mould or bugs on them that became evident a few hours after we got them home. The orchids also had mealybug and the infestation was so bad that it spread to my other orchid that I'd had for years with no issues. Everything had to go. The dracaena we bought from there also had a mould problem too. Luckily, I've been able to save that one but we will never buy plants from there again.
Holly M — Google review
Pleasant place to visit and general gardens well kept. The tea room is very crowded and noisy not a relaxing place to visit. Good service but far too small, needs extending, good service. Garden centre has good selection but quite expensive. Bought a packet of seeds and when I got home found they are a year out of date. Too far to take them back.

Coffee Tales Jewellery Quarter is a beloved cafe located in Birmingham's Heritage Court. The staff is known for their warm and friendly service, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors, including dogs and children. This local favorite is renowned for its delicious cakes and quality coffee, making it the perfect spot to catch up with friends or set up a remote office for the day. Additionally, Coffee Tales offers an array of vegan-friendly options, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy.
I cannot fault this place.. The food is amazing; hot, big portions, reasonably priced and the ladies more than happily adjusted to the needs of a picky person. The customer service is flawlessly delivered with smiles. The toilets were spotlessly clean, kitted out for disabled and fully equipped for parents with babies and children with a huge area for nappy changing, a potty, soft changing matt etc. I am so impressed with the service, facilities and food!
Sarah — Google review
I had an excellent experience at Coffee Tales. The scrambled eggs on white sourdough with Cumberland sausage and back bacon were cooked perfectly, and the French toast with brioche topped with cinnamon, powdered sugar, strawberries, and blueberries was amazing. I also ordered fried eggs with bacon, which were delicious. Service was outstanding—though they said food might take 30 minutes, it only took about 10, and the drinks came out very quickly too. The staff were professional, friendly, and welcoming. The place itself is clean, quiet, and comfortable. Highly recommend!

I can honestly say that this was THE best veggie breakfast (@ 1:30 in the afternoon) we have ever been served. The attached photo is of a very empty plate, not very helpful I know 😂 fantastic coffee and tea as well. The service was super freindly and everything was freshly cooked.

We had breakfast here and it was perfect. Good and high quality coffee. The big breakfast and an avocado toast with poached eggs. Everything to the point. Thank you.

Love this easy and calming classic cafe feel. The food was simple but tasty. Not too much on the menu to confuse and baffle! The staff were sensational, kind and attentive. The toilets were very clean and is able to accommodate all (I.e. people with disabilities and parents who need to change their children) Coffee was great too! Nice full bodied and flavoursome! Love this place I will be back! Thanks you.

Quality service. For the portion you get when ordering the cakes or sandwiches, the price is extremely fair.
E M — Google review
Pleasant staff, when we ordered they made us aware of the 20 minutes wait for food, poached egg on toast and a full English was worth the wait. Delicious and freshly made. Reasonably priced, extra charge for ketchup. Could be cleaner, ketchup or something similar was on our tea pot lid and something had been spilt over the laminated number we were given.

Nestled in the heart of Solihull, Paramo Lounge is a delightful café bar that radiates warmth and inclusivity, making it an ideal spot for families and friends alike. With its rustic charm and soft lighting, the interior creates a cozy atmosphere perfect for unwinding. The menu is impressively diverse, featuring classic favorites such as pizzas and burgers alongside fresh salads and enticing vegan options.
We had a fantastic breakfast experience! We ordered the bacon triple-stacked buttermilk pancakes and a latte, and everything was absolutely delicious. The bacon was perfectly crispy, and the pancakes were incredibly fluffy and soft—just the way they should be! The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere inside was warm and inviting. A great place to start the day with a delicious meal and great service. We’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommended!

Like all the Lounges great decor, friendly staff, excellent choice of breakfasts, morning coffee, lunches, dinner. Clean toilets. I order using the QR code at the table, the drink comes quickly like the cutlery, food not long after. Staff clear your plate away, let you linger over drinks. Seen them busy cleaning vacated tables quickly & thoroughly. If there's a Lounge nearby, it's a no-brainer.
Jay G — Google review
Come here quite often with friends in the afternoon just wanted a light bite and it’s a convenient location. Straight forward ordering, not too busy so didn’t wait too long for first drink or food. Helpful server brought the food really friendly. There was a huge loud table pretty much next to us, not sure if this was staff doing tasting or something similar. Ordered an iced matcha latte, I’ve had this here before as well as in a dozen other coffee shops, you don’t blend it as a frappe, this was not made correctly but, I didn’t see a member of staff to tell for a while so just drank it. Ordered more drinks after eating and waited 14 minutes just for a lemonade because the staff were all talking to the one large table of people. Honestly we were just wanting to go at this point! No toilet paper in one of the toilets, fairly clean though. Really nice food though and large choice on the menu.
Aiesha — Google review
Lovely place to stop, I have eaten at a number of 'Lounge' chains and the food is always reliably good, especially for Vegetarians so this is why we went here on our stay over before gardeners world live the next day at the NEC. Food and wine was really nice, it wasn't very busy and we were not rushed in the slightest. Lovely evening meal.

Popped in on a Saturday for a quick snack and drink. Had walked past a number of times but hadn't gone in. Was much bigger inside than expected, plenty of seating. We visited around 4pm so found a table easily. Great decor inside and nice atmosphere. We used the QR code at the table without any issues. Service was prompt and pleasent Food was nice, we had 3 tapas dishes, the fritters would recommend. Overall a nice experience and will return

Fantastic place for food & drinks. Offers such a variety for all and has an incredible atmosphere both uplifting yet calm. A completely different ambiance in the evening which offers a unique feel. The team are impressively efficient and attentive, yet never intrusive—striking the perfect balance. I would definitely recommend.

Brilliant place for coffee or brunch. The staff were super helpful and the coffee was delicious. Didn't have good but the fresh produce was on display and it looks excellent. Certainly worth popping by! They had a selection of gluten free products too

Excellent and tasty food. The spiced mulled apple drink was perfect for a cold autumn day. The roast is ok, nothing special if you drink espresso like me but probably good for any coffee drinks. The staff is super friendly and very competent. Relaxing atmosphere and good choice of music, definitely not loud and perfect to relax and chat if you're with others. Recommended and will definitely come back.

Nice hipster coffee shop, very convenient near the centre. Had a decent sized brunch with some nice touches - halloumi, excellent veggie sausages and bread. Service was a touch slow and not convinced by the poached egg. Overall though, decent, would go back.

Awesome place for working on your laptop. Hospitable staff and two levels to sprawl yourself over whilst enjoying a nice cup of joe and feasting on some pancakes if you’re lucky enough to be there on a Tuesday. Plenty of seating and power points available to charge your devices. There’s couches, large tables and individual tables to work from with free WiFi available. Hot latte costs 2.9 pounds and there’s a bathroom on site. They also have a bottomless brunch if you’re brave enough to participate on the weekends for 22.5 all day long! #BeatTheGrind

In an honest review, the food is quite pricey for what you get. The staff are not friendly at all and the guys behind the till was kinda rude. Out of three of the staff we interacted only one was okay. I would definitely not go back there or recommend the place.

Went to Urban Cafe (Church Street) for their Bottomless Brunch, I use their venue in Jewellery Quarter so had a good idea of what to expect. Their breakfast was ace, it came out quicker than I expected based on the fact that the Cafe was full to capacity. We opted for the Mimosas which were promptly topped up a few times and had a great Juice to Prosecco ratio. Would definitely have their BB again, but would upgrade for the Pastries. Thank you Urban Cafe for making the start to my sisters birthday so awesome!

Found this place after a quick Google search and is wanting a spot of brunch whilst visiting Birmingham. Really efficient service and got a seat outside to make the most of the sunshine. We both thoroughly enjoyed the eggs Benedict, one with bacon and the other with mushrooms. I enjoyed an iced latte, really good, nice and strong! My fiance had a berry smoothie, also tasty. £23 for this lot so a great price for a tasty brunch and good service.

Well. First off, the name of this establishment should be changed to Simply Disgusting....Service was extremely slow & poor. From the outside it looks like a lovely place to eat but that is luring you into a false sense of security!. Food was cheap frozen rubbish which looked like it had been warmed through & left for a few days before being served. I had two bits of what I ordered & my lovely friend had a similar amount. We will not be returning to this place ever again

Healthy meals, soups and sandwiches served indoors and outdoors. They also have a large selection of locally sourced confectionery, honey, preserves, pickles and whatnot. Menu items have allergens and vegetarian options highlighted. Soft drink brands like Fentimans and herbal teas are available in addition to coffees and milkshakes. Afternoon tea is available and Seasonal Events are advertised on the walls. This is a lovely café to visit alone or with friends.

I have so much to say, fantastic food, friendly, wonderful local produce, santa for the little ones, Halloween themed decorations, whoever owns this has really put heart and soul into it. ill be coming in on the 23rd of October to bring my husband Darren for breakfast on his birthday, and I will be back over Christmas for the cheeses 🧀 Well done guys, from business to business Absolutely outstanding, love from Serina and the Underground Tattoo studio

Based on several reviews, I suggested to my mother in law we visit here and I’m so pleased we did as we both came away already looking to our next visit! We were greeted immediately, shown to a table, ordered from the breakfast menu and in addition enjoyed an afternoon take out cake since we couldn’t help wanting to try from the generous selection. A really delightful experience, lovely and welcoming staff and as for the food, it was just as it states on the door…Simply Delicious! We look forward to seeing you soon x
