Park Regis Birmingham is a modern and stylish hotel located just outside Birmingham city center. The hotel offers sleek rooms and suites, along with great amenities including dining options, a bar, and a spa. I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome with their warm hospitality and professional service. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-equipped, providing a comfortable environment to relax after a long day. The location was excellent, close to major attractions yet peaceful enough for rest. Breakfast offered a good variety of tasty options, and the dining area was always neat. What impressed me most was the attention to detail and genuine care. Overall, a truly memorable and pleasant experience.

I woukd say yes this is a 4 star. Parking is a rin off to start at £26 a night! Shocking The entry is a bit odd as there is no one at front desk reception then you have to go up in a lift to another reception where you actually check in. The decor was and the hotel itself was pretty decent. Nice presentation, check in was smooth and not too long of a wait. Check out was the same. Rooms were spacious ,well equipped, nice clean bathroom with large shower. Good temp.controls on thermostat on room which worked. Comfy sleep and pillows. Breakfast was good but because no one was clearing tables we had to wait and then ended up clearing the table ourselves which was annoying. I woukd definitely come again provided i can find cheaper parking!

We had a wonderful two-night stay at Park Regis Birmingham. From the moment we arrived, we received a warm and pleasant welcome at reception. Thank you, Matthew, for your kind hospitality and excellent customer service. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped with tea and coffee facilities, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with plenty of choice. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I’d happily recommend to anyone visiting Birmingham.

Fabulous hotel! The interior is beautifully designed and very welcoming. All the staff were extremely helpful and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. During our visit, the fire alarm went off, but the team handled it brilliantly – they reassured everyone, guided us calmly, and made sure we were safe. A lovely lady named Kinal kindly explained what had happened and even shared some great recommendations for places to visit nearby. This hotel truly goes above and beyond for its guests. I would 100% recommend it and would definitely stay again

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The hotel itself is luxurious and modern, with everything you could need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The location is great, with plenty of good restaurants nearby, making it convenient for both dining and exploring. What really made my stay special was the amazing staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially a lady named Kinal from Guest Relations. From the moment I checked in until the day I checked out, she went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She helped me with directions to my daughter’s university, suggested great restaurants, and even arranged taxis — her support truly made my trip easier and more enjoyable. The bar staff were also very welcoming and created such a pleasant atmosphere every evening. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I’m definitely coming back to this hotel on my next visit!

We came to Park Regis to celebrate a friend's birthday and had a really warm welcome at check-in from Matthew. The hotel has a nice, relaxed atmosphere and theseroom was clean and well-put together. I realised I had left my cufflinks at home and Matthew was kind enough to loan a pair of his. Thank you!

Worst experience ever! While the property itself is presented as a high-end hotel with clean rooms and quality amenities, the level of service we experienced was unacceptably poor and completely at odds with the standards one would expect from such an establishment. We had booked a package that included dinner for two with a glass of wine each, accommodation, and breakfast. Unfortunately, from the moment of check-in, we were treated dismissively and made to feel like second-class guests simply because we had booked a package deal. The receptionist told us, “I think you need to order at the bar because you’ve got the set menu for dinner” – a comment that set the tone for what was to come. At the bar, we were handed the wrong menu, then another menu that was dirty and stained. Our drinks order was incorrect, and while placing our food order we were rudely interrupted by another staff member who questioned what menu we were ordering from. After clarifying that we were on the package deal, he walked off without any resolution. The wines included in our package were never provided. Our mains took 1.5 hours to arrive. At one point, a staff member even asked if we were waiting for desserts when we had not yet been served our mains. While he did offer us complimentary drinks, by that time the evening was ruined. This was meant to be a special birthday dinner for my partner, yet instead it was frustrating and embarrassing. We eventually canceled dessert, as we could no longer justify the wait. The following morning’s breakfast was equally disappointing – poorly executed, with disorganized staff and a complete lack of hospitality. This experience reflects a fundamental failure in customer service, training, and guest care. For a hotel of your caliber, the service we received was wholly unacceptable and fell far below industry standards.

Stayed her on Sunday, I enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and professional was offered the higher floors which I loved the view. Room was clean bed and pillows comfy. The breakfast was a 10/10 taste fresh and made with care and love . Overall stay was 10/10 nothing to really fault them for . I will definitely be back and recommend

Nestled on the 25th floor of the iconic Cube building, Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar & Grill Birmingham offers a delightful blend of modern comfort food and stunning panoramic views of the city skyline. This chic eatery is perfect for those looking to indulge in a luxurious dining experience. The menu features an array of delectable options, including traditional Afternoon Tea served daily from noon until 5 PM.
I celebrated my 24th birthday at Marco Pierre White recently and I loved everything!! I ordered the sirloin steak (225g), it comes with chips but you can swap it for fries. I've got the peppercorn sauce, as well as mac and cheese and shared calamari with my friend. Food was great, the service was great and the restaurant is just beautiful, with elegant designs and so many nice places for pictures, not to mention the amazing rooftop views. They allow you to bring your own cake which is amazing, because some restaurants don't. They also brought me a nice little "Happy 24th birthday" plate at the end. Overall was a 10/10 experience and I will definitely go again ☺️
Adina S — Google review
Would not return nor would I recommend, there are better rooftop restaurants that provide a nice view for the same price with much better food (Orelle is an example which is only a 15 minutes walk from this restaurant) Atmosphere: Rooftop restaurant, atmosphere is nice and good songs played throughout the dinner. View is pleasant but charged £5 per person for a window seat (came to an extra £10). There is a bar section that plays different songs but this does not interfere with the dining area, seems to be quite lively with people even dancing. There is a smoking area that provides an amazing view too. Food: Halal steaks are available if you require this but it is only the fillets. Do not order the calamari below, it is extremely chewy, the batter is stale, the sauce has a weird test (I would rate this 0/10). Steaks are nicely cooked and the peppercorn sauce is good too, mushrooms had a bitter taste, spinach is okay but not reasoned well. Ordered a side of chips and onion rings to share, onion rings are huge and I ordinarily like this style but they were extremely oily, to the point it becomes uncomfortable to eat. Chips were thick cut but also very oily, I would not recommend either of the sides. The only nice thing ordered was the steak. Service: Service was professional but we had to call someone over to order which usually does not happen as waiters come over. We also had to wait a while to pay once the bill was received. Other than that the waiters were very nice.

I had a fantastic meal recently and the service was exceptional. The crispy calamari with tartar sauce was delicious, and the fillet steak was cooked to perfection. Although I wasn’t offered a second drink during the meal, the atmosphere was still enjoyable. Just a heads up, it would be great if the voucher details were clearer when booking! Overall, a lovely dining experience and I’d definitely recommend it.

I just had the best night out! The food was top-notch, especially the fillet steak – cooked perfectly and just so tender. Our server Alex was a star, making everything special and memorable. The atmosphere was lively, the drinks were kept topped up, and the cleanliness was spot-on. Can’t wait to come back for another great experience!

I had a lovely afternoon out! The food was delicious, especially the liver pâté which was outstanding. Our drinks were regularly topped up during the bottomless brunch, and the service was spot on thanks to a brilliant waitress, even though I didn't catch her name. The atmosphere was great, but there were a few cleanliness issues in the toilets. Despite that, I'll definitely be back!

We had a voucher for afternoon tea. Lovely atmosphere, paid £5 extra for seat by the window for the view. Staff are very friendly and we were served quickly. Scone was delicious (1 jam between 2) but everything else pretty average. Grateful for the voucher but wouldn’t come again.

We had a delicious 3 course dinner and a great breakfast in the morning. All food was perfectly cooked and served to high standard. Staff was attentive and atmosphere was lively and fun!
Celia R — Google review
I have to say based on the service and the cleanliness of the restaurant I was a little let down. The food was sub-par and although the waitress was a wonderful sweet young woman she clearly was new and was thrown into the deep end without any real training, not her fault at all. The cutlery had to be exchanged because of a dirty set that was on the table and the glasses had spots on them. The staff and the atmosphere was the highlight of the outing and to be fair for around 50 pounds/person (Including wine) the steak deal was not terrible. However, my sirloin had quite a bit more fat than I would have liked. We went for a friend’s birthday and the tiny corner sliver of brownie (which was comped) was laughable. We decided to get another bottle of wine and enjoy the sunset on the terrace which did provide fantastic 360 views.

Malmaison Birmingham is a stylish hotel located in the former Royal Mail sorting office, now known as the Mailbox. The bright red exterior makes it easily recognizable. The hotel offers 193 rooms with sleek and modern décor, featuring pop-art posters and monochrome bathrooms. Its location provides easy access to luxury shopping options and the vibrant city center of Birmingham. The on-site Chez Mal Brasserie offers a vibrant atmosphere with colorful neon touches.
I only booked a night here for after the Kendrick Lamar concert. But it was an excellent stay. The rooms were amazing. I actually got a free upgrade! The room was spacious, they had all the right amenities, including free bottled water. The hotel is located right by the train station so it’s really easy to get to. The service was excellent from the front desk and the hospitality staff. The breakfast was great too, I liked that it has both a continental buffet and cooked options you can choose from. The choices are a bit limited but most people will find something they’ll like. If I come back to Birmingham, I’ll be staying again.

Located close to the Bullring and with a Q car park next door to the hotel, this hotel is ideally located. The rooms are of a very high standard, although a little dark. They are very spacious and are built to a high quality. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The bar has an extensive drinks menu and the happy hour prices are very inviting. Lastly onto the food. I rarely eat at hotel restaurants, but the food here is excellent. Easily on par with a respectable restaurant. I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Birmingham.

An Exceptional Date Night – A Must-Visit! I’d heard so much about this place but had never had the chance to experience it, so when my partner took me here for our date night, I was beyond excited. Though we had a brief wait upon arrival, the staff quickly made up for it with their impeccable service. They truly went above and beyond to make us feel like VIPs, attentive, friendly, and genuinely eager to ensure we had a wonderful evening. The food was simply phenomenal. We kicked things off with the crab tacos, and honestly, it was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully plated, it set the bar high for the rest of the meal. The steak? Perfection. Juicy, tender, and packed with incredible flavour, it was clear that a lot of care and skill went into preparing it. The atmosphere was the cherry on top, cozy, romantic, and just the right mix of relaxed elegance that made our night feel even more memorable. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience! 😊

Over night stay spa was great nice and clean however bit small. Asked for change of pillows due being duck feathers which im allergic to. A member of staff gave me different pillows which was much appreciated. The breakfast was very well presented and delicious. Wish I had stayed longer enjoyed my stay.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Went for a birthday treat and really appreciated the free cocktail. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice but to be honest, the pastries were not fresh. Would stay again Note: you need to pre book the car park if using it as the hotel no longer have a code. It cost me £25 for the night

Overall this is pretty good hotel. I've not used the gym or spa facilities. I have always visited on business trips. Rooms are generally impeccable, but I will say they are starting to show their age. However, still a very good experience. Breakfast wise, you get great service and the food is, for the most part, good. I think there's the odd chef that isn't up to the standards of the others, but to be honest, I've never thought to complain. It's pretty darn ok, ya know. If there were any complaints, it is this: please, please give complementary lip balm! The air con is very needed, but dries your lips fast. I have always left the hotel with crunchy, painful lips!!

disappointing, not at the standard of other malmaisons No plug sockets next to the bed, so good luckmusing a laptop or phone double room is actually two twin beds pushed togeather. went to use the sauna after the gym, was told no, its booked for the next hour and a half went to the restaurant for the half price steak night, was told i had to buy a second course (not memtined on the add by the lifts) its a good location but for the price thats about it oh yeah i got the dissabled room too.....

Nestled in the serene countryside of Royal Sutton Coldfield, North Warwickshire, The Belfry Hotel & Resort offers a luxurious escape. This award-winning destination boasts opulent bedrooms and suites, multiple dining options, a leisure club, and The Belfry Spa where guests can indulge in rejuvenating treatments. Golf enthusiasts will be delighted by the three world-class courses including The Brabazon and PGA National.
I booked the trilogy package for my husbands birthday and our stay was amazing from start to finish. There was a good range of spa facilities. The masseuse Maddie was lovely and friendly and brilliant at her job. Alyson & Michelle at Brabazon Bar where afternoon tea was served 10/10, very attentive, welcoming and went above and beyond to adhere to our needs. Overall a lovely place and we enjoyed the whole experience.

Very disappointed. I have been to quite a few Spa days and this is by far the worst one I have been to. When you think of a Spa, you think of elegance. This unfortunately was far from elegant. If you did not know better you would think that you were in your local council leisure centre. In addition to this the ladies toilets and changing rooms were out of action so we had to use the men’s toilets and changing rooms. Unfortunately the smell in the men’s toilets was awful. In addition to this, in other Spa’s I have been to you at least normally see some of their products in the changing rooms, such as hand lotion and body lotion, not at this Spa. At previous Spa resorts I have found that one of the most relaxing places is the quiet relaxation room. Unfortunately there is not one here. There is a room where you can relax but due to the fact that it is also the room where you wait for your treatment then it is by far from quiet and relaxing as there is so many people coming and going and names are constantly being called out by staff. The lunch was adequate although nothing like any other Spa days I have had and I nearly died when they charged me £16.50 for one glass of wine!!! The only real highlight of the day, apart from enjoying my friend’s company was the treatments that I had from Candy who was excellent and a credit to the facility. I am sorry but I will definitely not be coming back.

Stayed over here on the 19th October. I was surprised at how busy it was upon arrival however getting checked in was really quick. Staff were friendly and talked us through where our meal and breakfast would be. Our room was on the 2nd floor of the Jacklin House area, easy to get to via stairs or the lift. Great size room, nice, clean and fresh. Appeared to be no air conditioning however there was a fan but that was pretty grim, I don't think it had been cleaned for a long time! Really comfy bed, good lighting, nice size TV. Bathroom was also a good size and the shower was spot on. Noise level at night was not great, we got woke up by a very loud couple or group of people at 01:30am!!! No respect for anyone else who may have been asleep. We chose the 3 course Sunday buffet which was amazing, again very busy but only had to wait a few mins to get shown to our table. Plent of variety for sure and was all very tasty. Breakfast the next day was again really busy but got our table straight away. Lots to choose from for sure, all very nice. A brilliant experience and highly recommended.

Had a lovely afternoon tea here. We had the pink afternoon tea for breast cancer awareness, such a lovely spread for a great cause! Alyson and Michelle were both so lovely and attentive, making sure to check up on us throughout the lunch. A great choice of gluten free and veggie options too! Will definitely come back again! :)

We had a really enjoyable stay at The Belfry. The spa and treatments were fantastic — very relaxing and well organised. The food was fabulous, and the new leisure centre building was a great addition. We especially loved the outdoor jacuzzi with its lovely view over the golf course — such a beautiful setting. Overall, the environment and atmosphere were excellent. One point of disappointment was that we were allocated a disabled room, which meant that an accessible room wasn’t available for someone who might have needed it. Additionally, the shower in our room was leaking quite badly. Despite that, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again.

I recently went here for a spa day having visited 4 times last year for a conference. I would agree with previous reviews on the rooms. In the old part of the hotel (haven’t experienced the new wing yet) the rooms are adequate but not 4 star. Beds I found quite uncomfortable - the rooms are quite small and dark. More 3 than 4 star. Hopefully this is different in the new wing. The Spa was a mixed experience. I agree with previous review - I saw only one private area for changing - I felt like I was back at school and don’t really enjoy getting naked in front of strangers or even friends if I’m honest. The place was very busy - we took the last 3 beds by the pool. And the Fire and Ice experience was also busy but enjoyable. There was no-one to show us around or explain it so we worked it out ourselves. Food and service in the restaurant was lovely as were the treatments. Maisie was great. Would come again.

We had an absolutely amazing afternoon tea at the Belfry, we chose the Pink Afternoon tea and was served by Alyson and Michelle. The food was fresh, warm and the tea selection was endless. The service went above and beyond, we were not rushed and nothing was too much trouble, we were made to feel so welcome. This was our first visit and we felt like we were part of the family from the moment we walked in. Would highly recommend enjoying the Pink Afternoon tea at The Belfry, we will definitely be coming back.

Had a really lovely afternoon tea today for Breast cancer awareness. The food was absolutely wonderful, and the service we received from Alyson and Michelle was amazing. They were very attentive, kept reassuring us we could stay as long as we wanted, made sure we had as many drinks refills as we wanted, and were so brilliant with my 6 year old son. Really enjoyed our afternoon, thank you.

The Hyatt Regency Birmingham is a modern high-rise hotel offering complimentary Wi-Fi and an indoor pool, along with a British bistro, bar, and spa. Indulge in the luxurious experience of their traditional or champagne afternoon tea at the Aria Restaurant, featuring delectable finger sandwiches and a variety of scones served with clotted cream and jam. The hotel's rooms boast floor-to-ceiling windows providing stunning city or canal views.
We spent two nights here to see simply red the location was perfect. The hotel was amazing the lobby was stunning are room was very clean. The staff were super friendly and answered any questions we had. Breakfast was great good selection from continental to full English constant supply of tea and coffee being served. We couldn’t fault the hotel and the wonderful staff at all. We will definitely stay here again as will are friends who stayed in a different hotel but joined us for drinks and was impressed especially with the cocktails which are delicious. The room service was really good especially the Nan chicken tikka and bbq chicken wings definitely recommend. Good size portions as well and quite reasonable priced. We’ve stayed in hotels all over the world and we found the Hyatt to be wonderful.

Hyatt Rengency Hotel Birmingham is a very nice and cozy hotel with great facilities. It offers halal food, and prayer mats are available upon request, which I really appreciated. The leisure facilities are lovely, with a heated swimming pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, and spa. However, my stay was let down by the fact that the room did not have a smart TV as mentioned on the website, which caused a lot of wasted time considering that I planned to stay in most of the times. The hotel eventually upgraded us (to a similar room just a few floors higher) after several contact made to reception and a long wait, but I’m grateful to Kenza for her assistance. On checkout, Nandini was very kind and offered support for my next visit as a gesture for the inconvenience. There's also an issue with parking, which operates on a first come first serve basis. So if you park your car on day 1 and say you're staying for 3 days, you have to pay for the parking for 3 days ahead which is £27 for 24hr. During these days if you happen to take your car out and come back with no free parking space, you lose your money. Your slot is not reserved. It would be better if they charge us for parking when we are leaving the car park rather than making us pay in advance. Overall, a comfortable hotel with excellent amenities, but clearer information on room facilities would have made the stay much smoother. I would have come better prepared.

Hyatt Regency Birmingham – Elegant Stay in the Heart of the City Hyatt Regency Birmingham is a stylish and comfortable hotel with a fantastic central location near Broad Street, Brindleyplace, and the ICC. The rooms are spacious and modern, many offering great city or canal views. Guests love the spa, pool, and well-equipped gym, perfect for relaxing after a busy day. The Aria Restaurant and Gentleman & Scholar Pub serve quality food and drinks, and the staff are generally warm and professional. It can get a bit pricey, and parking isn’t cheap, but the overall experience feels worth it for the comfort and convenience. A great choice for both business and leisure travellers looking for a touch of luxury in Birmingham.

I stayed at the hotel Friday-sunday for my friends birthday. The hotel is nice and in a good place in the city. We had to change rooms twice. The first room was cold the AC did not work despite sending the concierge to try and fix it. The second room was the same issue again. Ended up going down to reception to complain. The manager (Victor) came back up with me he adjusted the AC and said that give it an hour and the heat would kick in. After sitting in the room for over an hour and a half it was still cold. Called reception again who said they will send an engineer, at this point we were fed up and cold so went to the Spa and left it on. On our return the room was still cold. Called reception again who stated that they would send an engineer. When the engineer arrived he looked in the ceiling and said the previous occupant of the room asked for it to be cold, so switched it off. Whether that is true or not. The management should of known this!!!! Also may I add in both rooms we could not cast to the tv, despite the manager and someone else trying. On checking out on Sunday, we spoke ro Victor the manager and relayed our disappointment. His response was as we booked through Booking.com there was nothing he could do and we needed ro complain to them. Then he would agree a refund. He asked if we was planning on coming back and he would arrange an upgrade to which we said NO THANK YOU. Why would we go back after all the issues we had!! Since speaking to booking.com. Victor the manager has lied and told booking.com we were happy with our room. Despite the lengthy conversation we had about our stay This is not the behaviour of a manager. In summary I WOULD NOT recommend this hotel. You don't pay/stay in a hotel to be cold and fobbed off and moved from room to room. The only truthful person was the engineer!!

Hotel took unauthorised payments of almost £700. Looking on trip advisor this looks like a regular gig for them. Called to flag the issue they say they will look into it with the bank a week later and I’m still out of pocket. I wouldn’t stay at a Hyatt hotel again!!! Also the pool is adults only

Decent room, great views, friendly reception staff. But we were double-charged for three breakfasts, and still no refund, over a month later, despite many emails. My emails are now just being ignored - whether I contact the hotel direct or a central Hyatt address. I'm not really sure what to do next, which is why I'm leaving this review - maybe they'll stop ignoring us...?

Hotel website and booking information states parking ‘first come first served’ but absolutely no information that you can pre book with third party who operates parking. Room had no bathrobes for spa use and room telephone missing. So had to call reception from own mobile. Chose pre theatre menu but service very poor and slow . Also for price of room, choice of extras ie tea very poor.

Zindiya Streatery & Bar in Moseley, Birmingham offers a modern setting with lively interior details and a menu inspired by Indian street food. The restaurant is known for its quirky afternoon tea experience featuring flavorful treats and the specialty Wala cocktail made from prosecco, vodka, and chai blend.
We visited Zindiya as a large group for a family birthday, and had a wonderful experience. The menu is as vibrant and exciting as the décor, which takes you right back to the colourful, bustling streets of India. We had plenty to choose from, with a great choice of vegetarian options. Something that stood out was the quality of the cocktails, we loved the Indian twist of flavours, lovely, unusual soft drinks too. Service was great, and the friendly owner came over to chat to us too and made sure we were happy with everything. We appreciated the patience of the staff as we stayed after closing time to cut a birthday cake with family, and have more drinks, which was nice not to feel pressured to hurry. We are not familiar with Moseley, but had heard good things about the restaurant, so were keen to travel further to visit - we were really impressed and hope to return soon.

First time at this place. I was impressed. The decor along with the food and plating all came together superbly. Good attention to detail. Amritsari Fish was the star of the show. Butter chicken was not great but I’ve had worse. Overall great experience, well done to the owners and the staff for making this a great place to visit when I’m in Birmingham.

An atmospheric and stylish eatery not far from Moseley village. Delicious food & drink and really cool Indian street ambience. The High Chai is fantastic, with a lovely variety of tasty dishes and delicious teas. Well worth a visit.

We have found our new favourite Indian restaurant in Birmingham! Food is authentic and absolutely delicious. Definitely among the best Indian food we tried in Birmingham. Cozy ambience and reasonable prices make it a perfect spot for memorable meal. We will surely visit again.

Absolutely loved our experience at Zindiya in Moseley! The moment we stepped in, it brought back memories of Delhi — the ambiance, the aroma, everything felt so authentic and vibrant. We tried a variety of dishes, from the gunpowder aloo chaat to chole bhature, and each one was a standout in its own right — full of flavour, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. A special shoutout to the samosa filled with gajar halwa for dessert — such a creative and delicious twist that ended our meal on a high note! A big thank you to Shivam and Divyansha, who served us with such warmth and humility. Their friendly nature and attentive service truly made our visit memorable. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for real Indian flavours and heartfelt hospitality. Can’t wait to visit again!

The food was amazing, as always. The service was wonderful. Atmosphere was not as lovely as it has been on the past, but I think we went at a quiet time…. Overall we had a great time, and would definitely come again!

I visited Zindiya for dinner as I was in Birmingham for one night and they are a top 5 Indian restaurant on Time Out. I was warmly welcomed and Lavlesh gave fantastic service helping me navigate the menu and just being all round lovely. The food was amazing; full of flavour and a brilliant selection of street food. They also had a fantastic selection of drinks with craft beer on tap. The place itself has a cool atmosphere. It was quiet when I visited but it was a Sunday night. I suspect if you come on a Friday or Saturday night it will be very lively. Whilst I ate there was a very steady flow of take out orders which says a lot. All in all a fantastic restaurant. I would highly recommend and visit again. Incredibly good value too.

Housed in a grand Victorian building that was once the Birmingham Eye Hospital, this elegant hotel offers unique accommodations with high ceilings and spacious rooms. Guests can indulge in an extravagant afternoon tea experience featuring a variety of finger sandwiches, including options for both vegans and non-vegans.
Exceptional hotel!!! I have visited most hotels in Birmingham and this is far the best. It’s quiet, classy and sophisticated. I loved the bedroom and all the facilities included. I also received two complimentary glasses of wine. The hotel is located very close to the main shopping area and the museum & art gallery. The vegetarian breakfast was very good, although the vegetarian sausages need improvement. The breakfast staff were amazing, especially my main server Demitru, I can’t thank him enough. All-round superb hotel - highly recommended 😊

AVOID AT ALL COSTS WHILST WORK IS GOING ON!!!! WORKERS CAN SEE INTO BATHROOM!! They offer you one complimentary drink (for a room with two people) in exchange for zero privacy - I booked a room with a bath for relaxation - workers on scaffolding outside could see right through the blinds! I sent them a nice message to resolve this in a nice way but got zero response unfortunately. Can’t even use the bath which you pay extra for as workers can see you in the bath even with blinds closed as much as they close.

Twin room for me and my mate. Comfy beds. No noise disturbance. Good black out blinds. Clean bathroom. Great breakfast. Flexibility for late checkout at a very reasonable price. And a big thanks to Antonia at the front desk for being so friendly when we turned up. Really made us feel welcome and happy to be there. Huge recommendation.

Stayed as I was in town for a party and wanted to see the changes in the city centre. Location is great you are central and have good bars and restaurants around you. Service I have to say was great as I had the staff up the wall I didn't like the suite I booked when I got there but the staff let me pick the suite I wanted. Which was huge two room with an amazing bathroom. Shower could easily of held 8 people lovely freestanding bath. The bed was off the scale big (way bigger than a king-size) would of said two kings pushed together but it was one bedframe one mattress (yeas, I checked). Had breakfast both mornings with was really nice and spoilt for choice.

We booked an afternoon tea for 9 of us (our mum’s birthday). What an amazing afternoon we had. The afternoon tea was fabulous and plenty of tea and coffee provided. Such a beautiful hotel and location. When we had finished, there was no pressure to leave our table and we could relax and chat. Later, we headed to the hotel bar to have a few drinks - again exceptional service. Thank you to the lady who was sorting out our Wowcher codes 🙈 Also, a huge thank you to Ruban, who was brilliant and patient with our group. We had the most fabulous afternoon.

We held our wedding at Hotel du Vin in May 2025 and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we started planning to the day we checked out, the service was exceptional. Colleen was with us throughout the whole journey and was absolutely amazing. She patiently answered every single question we had (there were a lot!), always with professionalism, kindness, and a sense of calm that really helped during the stressful moments. She clearly knows her stuff and made us feel truly supported every step of the way. On the big day, Sylvi was incredible. She made sure everything ran smoothly and gave us calm, thoughtful guidance when we needed it most. We felt really taken care of, and her presence made a big difference to how smoothly the day went. The food served on the day was amazing—everyone loved it! The lunch, canapés, and wines were all delicious and beautifully presented. So many of our guests complimented the quality and flavours, and we couldn’t agree more. The rest of the team were also fantastic—professional, welcoming, and so attentive. We received so many compliments from our guests about the beautiful venue and how well everything was run. It genuinely felt like the staff cared about making our day special. We’re so grateful we chose Hotel du Vin for our wedding. Thank you to everyone who helped behind the scenes—you created a day we’ll never forget. We’ll be back soon to celebrate our one-month anniversary at the Bistro!

Located in the elegant Audley St Georges Place retirement village, Three Church Road Restaurant offers a quintessentially British afternoon tea experience in the heart of leafy Edgbaston. Guests can enjoy a selection of savories and sandwiches on the restaurant's terrace while soaking up the historic building's features and natural surroundings. The Georgian-style interior provides an elegant setting to indulge in traditional finger sandwiches, scones, and more.
Review for Three Church Road Restaurant I had an incredible dining experience at Three Church Road Restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing—each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The quality of the ingredients and attention to detail truly stood out, making every bite a delight. The service was exceptional, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere from start to finish. A special mention to Vinny, who was brilliant—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making our meal even more enjoyable. His recommendations were spot on, and his professionalism added to the overall experience. The only minor downside is that parking at the location can be a bit tricky. However, there’s plenty of parking nearby, so it’s not a major issue. Overall, Three Church Road is a fantastic place for a meal, whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying a great night out. Highly recommended!

It's been a long time since I did my last review, but I had to break the pattern because the experience in this restaurant was quite amazing - specially because of the outstanding service provided by Sónia(?). She was very thoughtful and caring the whole time, and it instantly made us feel at home. The food is also quite nice and the restaurant is located in a very charming neighbourhood; couldn't recommend more. If there's anything bad to say, I would say that the person at the reception could be more welcoming, but I guess the rest of the crew compensated her lack of sympathy.

This place is absolutely amazing. Five of us went to celebrate my 50th birthday. The food was exquisite of a very high quality. Our servers were attentive. Our every need was met. We were not rushed, and my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and we will definitely be back.

Beautiful little restaurant hidden away inside a hotel with intriguing secrets like an "owners' library" you can't enter 🤣 The food is exquisite and the price is perfect. £75 for three courses and drinks for two people. Totally recommended.

Beautiful venue, set within a retirement village (so a bit confusing when a taxi pulls up to the doors). The Three Church Road restaurant is a bit hard to access - there are main doors with a sign saying the entrance is to the left, and you walk through what I think is the reception to the retirement home? It’s not very clear but we were able to find it without too much hassle. The restaurant/bar is very beautifully designed, with lots of different rooms and areas to keep it feeling intimate and private, rather than everyone packed in one big room. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and made it a lovely occasion. We’d come for the afternoon tea, which seems to be good value at £19.95 but was rather disappointing - largely due to the pretty boring sandwich flavours (tuna, ham & mustard, cheddar & chutney, and chicken tandoori) and the fillings were absolutely tiny - I don’t think I tasted any tuna. The staff were great in tailoring the food to dietary requirements, for vegans, gluten free, and generally fussy people who just wanted an entire plate of ham sandwiches! It was just sad they’d not opted for things such as smoked salmon and cream cheese, egg and cress, and cucumber sandwiches. And the finger sandwiches came heaped in butter - a white margarine spreadable type thing. Sad. There were scones with individual pots of cream and jam, and a range of cakes though I found these to be quite dry. Particularly with the sandwiches there felt like a lot of cost-cutting had been going on, and you could barely taste any of the fillings. You can pay £5 extra to enjoy Champagne with your afternoon tea, or gin & tonics. Despite my disappointment with the food, it looked beautiful and was a lovely thing to do with friends, and we were very well looked after by the staff.

We went for afternoon tea here. Loved the tea, food was lovely and tea/coffee had refills included. Parking situation was awful. There was no spaces at the front and we had to go to reception, before parking at a barrier operated parking at the back of the premises. It was just a confusing situation. We would recommend the afternoon tea here but the parking should improve 🙂

*Updated review* After having a less than positive experience, we went back to give this restaurant another chance to show us why they are renowned for their dining experiences. We couldn’t have been more pleased at the improvement! Blane and Tasha were just two of the staff who really went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful time. The lobster brioche was an absolute highlight, highly recommended, along with the breakfast loose leaf tea. The cappuccino was among the best I’ve had; strong and creamy. Oat milk was available for the lactose intolerant member of our group. My daughter recommended the carrot cake as the best item in the afternoon tea. We were given full information on allergens and the risk of cross contamination for our gluten free daughter, and they are accredited by Coeliac UK, which gave us extra reassurance. The scones were a little hard having been over microwaved, but the staff immediately fetched fresh ones for us on request. We had a lovely table looking out on to the church and watching shoppers go by, and the table was decorated beautifully. The main menu items (burgers) were well presented and tasty. Shauna really restored our faith in Browns and we can say we had a great pre-theatre experience and could now recommend to others. The service could not have been more different to our previous visit, and we felt very welcome and comfortable this time.

The Lost & Found Birmingham is a charming bar and restaurant located in a grand Victorian building that was once the National Provisional Bank of England. Inspired by the adventures of fictional Victorian explorer Hettie G. Watson, this quirky establishment features high ceilings and an interior adorned with birdcages, butterflies, and flowers. The menu offers classic British food, sandwiches, and an array of cocktails presented on a unique taste map that categorizes drinks based on their characteristics.
Had a fantastic bottomless brunch with a friend who l hadn't seen for a long while here. It was the perfect setting and the drinks just kept coming! The food was delicious and the cocktails were refreshing. I will definitely be back for another visit, it was so worth every penny and I even brought a dessert after our bottomless brunch time was up !! Thank you so much guys 😄 ALSO: I don't know the waitresses name but she was witty and friendly and attentive, 10/10 staff.

Recently visited this pub, prior to a theatre show. Booking is definitely advised with this venue. It was very busy when we arrived and extremely hot inside. It was very noisy, with lots or party groups and hen party, too. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We were shown to a table and then asked to move to the one alongside, some 20 minutes later! Our food order arrived within 15 minutes. It was well cooked and presented, tasted delicious, too. Our server was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her. The building itself was a bank, so the inside was beautiful, as you would expect from an old building. However, the leaves which hand around as decoration were very dusty and definitely due to be replaced/cleaned. Also, the downstairs corridors leading to the wash rooms require attention, along with the toilets themselves. On the whole, yes I would return, staff are wonderful, decoration/toilets in need of help.

A Great Experience at Lost and Found We had a really enjoyable time at Lost and Found. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated promptly (though it was a weekday), which was a great start. The interior is beautifully done—stylish and welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. We appreciated the online ordering system, which made things very convenient. The menu had a good range of options, and I went with the fish and chips—absolutely delicious! We also took advantage of the 2-for-1 offer on selected drinks, which was a nice bonus. Overall, a great experience, and we’ll definitely be back.

Staff were lovely and accommodating from start to finish. Very helpful and friendly, the place itself was really nice. Loved the decor, the facilities were lovely. Can’t really fault anything. The only thing I would say was the private bar wasn’t in use not sure if this was due to staffing as it was a Sunday but we had to go out the private room to the main bar for drinks and we had to order pretty much soon as we arrived as the kitchen closed at 8 and my booking was at 6. Apart from that our waitress Lolita? Was AMAZING!
Paris S — Google review
The venue is nicely decorated and styled and we were greeted on entry and taking to our table by a polite and friendly and attentive waitress. Unfortunately that’s where the positives ended. Myself and my partner had the beef roast, the beef had a slimy texture was seriously undercooked and very fatty. The potatoes were also undercooked. The broccoli was fit for the pin, way past its best and it was the same with my partner’s cauliflower cheese. My daughter who made the booking for Mother’s Day barely ate her fish as it was watery and very mushy. We got the attention of the waitress to complain about the food, she was apologetic and said she’d get the manager to speak to us, we waited about 45 mins and the manager never arrived so we got the attention of the waitress again and she went off to speak to the manager again. Eventually we had the meals discounted but not to the level that matched the waste of money and poorly prepared food. I would not recommend this place for food.

Met with a friend for a late lunch, catch up, natter. Perfect! We ordered 4 starters and shared as neither of us were over hungry. Food delicious! Surrounding just lovely! We had the lunch set menu and the food was really good — well-prepared dishes and absolutely amazing desserts. The service was excellent: friendly and attentive, especially thanks to the lovely Jasmeen who made us feel very welcome. It’s a real pity about the lack of cleanliness, as the place has great potential and could be truly outstanding with a bit more care.

Food & service was first class, despite being very busy the waitress was very attentive. Giving that it was a Saturday afternoon you will find it quite boisterous and I found the music to be a touch loud (but I am old and grey!!) and we were having to chat with raised voices, still, it was lovely, I enjoyed the steak and the Mrs enjoyed her burger. Therefore if you don't mind really loud music on Saturday afternoon then this is the place for you - recommended.....👍👍

Very good Italian restaurant. Price is not cheap but won't let you down with food. Portion is big for pasta. It is fun to have the pasta in three which is fun that you won't know what you get. We are too full and need a walk after. It surprise me there is complimentary beard which is not common at UK.

What a truly wonderful experience! From the moment we stepped in, the cosy and intimate atmosphere set the tone for a perfect evening. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel instantly relaxed and welcome. We had pasta and risotto for our mains, and both dishes were absolutely mind-blowing, rich, authentic flavours and perfectly cooked. You can really taste the love and care that goes into the food here. The staff were equally fantastic, warm, attentive, and genuinely lovely throughout the night. It’s rare to find that kind of service paired with such exceptional food. Highly recommend for a romantic dinner or a special catch-up, can’t wait to go back with my family.

Charming restaurant with lovely decor. Friendly staff and good service. There are a number of veggie options that can be made vegan, but it's unclear which these are and the waitress needed to check with the kitchen. Would be easier to just have them marked on the menu instead. Nevertheless, we enjoyed a vegan mushroom risotto and vegan gnocchi, which tasted lovely. Our other guests enjoyed their food too. The warm chocolate pudding was lovely and not too sweet.

We had a voucher to use from our sons (Christmas gift). The food, service and atmosphere was really really good. Was quiet when we arrived at 5pm and quite busy by the time we left at 6:45pm. Recently attended a small conference at Moor Hall Hotel and had a fantastic stay. The venue is ideal for intimate meetings of around 10–15 people – quiet, professional, and well-organised. The hotel itself is full of character with comfortable, well-appointed rooms and a peaceful setting. It’s in a great location – easy to get to, yet tucked away enough to feel like a retreat. We got married at moor hall in August. The venue itself is so beautiful, but the wedding was spectacular. The weather, the venue, the staff, the food, the organisation, everything was just incredible. Heather spent a lot of time with me organising every last detail and running through everything a million times. But Troy on the day was absolutely worth his weight in gold. There was not a thing he did not do for us. From fixing my dress walking down the aisle, to distracting me so that I didn't ruin my makeup, to making sure that absolutely everything on the day went without a hitch. He was phenomenal and we're so grateful he was there. Top tip for future brides, get the prep suite, having everyone there with me and a base to get ready in was invaluable. Plus the room is BEAUTIFUL. The staff have been lovely they had remembered it was my mom's birthday and given personal gestures for her which have been such lovely attention to detail. The massage was absolutely lovely, I'd say one of the best I have had. The only slight moan were the pool side beds were full and really uncomfortable. Apart from that I'd like to thank all the staff for making the day special for me and my mom. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be back, hopefully soon!

Check for a wowcher on this little gem. What a lovely hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was clean (albeit a bit hot) The evening meal was a bit pricey but good. The swimming pool is small but luckily the times we went in the evening at around 6 was quiet enough. The breakfast was great, everything you could think of and the staff were lovely. I would definitely recommend and go again. There is also a golf course, you can see through the gym windows. The gym was good too, lots of equipment and air con was super cold.

Beautiful place. The food was delicious, staff very helpful and pleasant. Spa facilities were lovely and kept very clean. I had a leg massage which was so lovely and relaxing and the spa staff were lovely and made you feel so relaxed too. Had a walk around the grounds with the woodland walk too which was lovely . There is a golf course there too.

Lovely overnight stay here. Staff were all really polite & professional and were happy to help with any requests. Food was very tasty at both dinner and breakfast. Bed was very comfortable. Pool & spa area was nice enough, good for relaxing. Would recommend for a weekend break.

I have been waiting right in front of the bar for half an hour to place an order, but despite reminding them several times, they never paid any attention. We just wanted to have a drink, and this is our first time at this hotel. I think they don’t want to serve us because we are foreigners. I would never recommend this hotel to any foreigner.

Indian restaurant
Cocktail bar
Praza Edgbaston is an Indian restaurant located in Birmingham that offers a unique twist on the traditional English afternoon tea. Housed in a stylish Georgian building adorned with chandeliers, brass lights, and modern decor, the restaurant serves Kashmiri dishes with a touch of sophistication. Their menu includes delectable savories such as Dahi Puri and Ragda Patice Chaat, along with finger sandwiches infused with Indian flavors like Chicken Tikka.
Great indian restaurant on Hagley Road, lovely decor, and facilities (a good parking space at the back). Staff was super kind and friendly, attentive, and caring. We went in for a birthday celebration with a birthday cake. Food was delicious, served with an attention to detail and quick. Good portion size and I was pleased with the generous pani offered with my pani puris (always end up asking for more pani at other restaurants). Ordered the shared mix kebabs platter, which was tasty with good pieces of fish, lamb and chicken. We highly recommend it, a more quiet and relaxed place to eat in good company.

We booked one of the private dining rooms at this restaurant for my graduation, having used the same venue for many family occasions before (including 50th and other birthdays). Sadly, this time was very disappointing. The manager was extremely rude and unprofessional, insisting on charging us for bringing a few welcome soft drinks (Rubicon mango/guava) for the graduation party, despite the fact that we purchased many drinks from the restaurant throughout the evening and have spent a lot of money here over the years. There was a lot of unnecessary back and forth, which really dampened the celebration. In the end, he charged us an extra £30 for our own drinks, which felt unfair and unreasonable. We’ve always supported this restaurant and recommended it to others, but after this experience, I won’t be returning unless they sort out their management and customer service.

It is always a pleasant experience eat at Praza. We had dinner today. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a comfortable spot for a meal. The menu offered a wide variety of traditional Indian dishes, and I appreciated the authenticity of the flavors. I tried the Paneer Makhni and garlic naan, both of which were well-prepared and delicious. The service was attentive, and our server was knowledgeable about the menu, offering helpful suggestions. Overall, I would highly recommend Praza to anyone looking to enjoy a good Indian meal." You can’t beat Hospitality here always great experience since last ten years.

We have been trying to come here for afternoon tea for the past couple of weeks. But it was always full. So on Sunday, when we had finished shopping in Selfridges and in need of peaceful refreshment, we was delighted that a space was available for 2:30. As we arrived, there were plenty of parking spaces in a big open car park. Rare for Edgbaston. We were shown to our table straight away. We ordered the afternoon tea for two. I went with the sparkling wine, and my partner opted for the chai tea. Our waiter then brought out an eye-catching display of fancy sandwiches, savoury treats, and very nice-looking cakes. Each mouthful was a treat on the tongue. The well combined flavours were subtle and distinguishable. It's not overpowering, which i find too common in asian cuisine. But the chefs here got the balance spot on. There is only a chicken sandwich on this menu. The rest is vegetarian. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. The decor is very dark. I personally like it, but I know others that wouldn't. Especially for an afternoon tea. The staff were really friendly, smartly dressed, and were attentive to our wants and needs. We are definitely going to be coming back to sample the rest of their menu during the week.

Italian restaurant
Noel’s Bar and Restaurant is a lavish canalside establishment offering a stylish setting to enjoy cocktails, Mediterranean cuisine, and afternoon tea. The restaurant features an ever-changing bottomless set lunch with options for two or three courses, including dishes like goats cheese mousse and porcini risotto. The bottomless booze options include prosecco and a variety of cocktails.
We couldn’t thank them enough! We came in today to celebrate our anniversary and were treated to an incredible afternoon tea. We had originally planned a weekend away, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to reschedule. I called Noel this morning and was assisted by Monia over the phone—she was understanding, patient, and wonderfully polite. My wife had her heart set on afternoon tea, and even though bookings usually require 24 hours’ notice, they kindly accommodated us and prepared a fantastic vegetarian afternoon tea. The venue itself is beautiful, with a lovely location, a welcoming atmosphere, excellent service, and beautifully presented, delicious food. We are truly grateful and will definitely return with family and friends. A well-deserved 5 stars!

We went on a Wednesday evening (7-10pm) so it was quite empty. We had the view of the canal which was nice. The decor is absolutely stunning as a the toilets although they could’ve done with some regular cleaning. The food was good, although it would’ve been nice to have desserts, I didn’t see any on the menu. The mocktails were really nice too. It came up to £110 for 2 of us (2 starters, 2 mains, 3 drinks). The food took a while to come out though otherwise, the staff were really nice and polite

Absolutely blown away by this place. The decor is smart. The restaurant is warm and clean. The toilets are maintained. As soon as we walked in, the staff were so polite and friendly. We were seated immediately. Shout out to Laila for her fantastic service. As usual I go for the caviar, unfortunately the one I wanted wasn't available. Fortunately I had an upgrade to a better caviar of the same size. My night was made!!!! The food was stunning! Just delicious! Every single course was to die for! The steak, the Tartare, the oysters, the caviar, scallops, all just PERFECT. I can't rate this place enough. We will DEFINITELY be back!!!

Loved our meal at Noel's. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great! When the staff needed to move us so they could reset a table, they gave us a free drink and were so thankful, even though it was absolutely fine. The restaurant has the eelig of somewhere special that people come to celebrate special moments. Lovely location too!

Noels Bar – Best Italian Restaurant in Birmingham! Noels is hands down the best Italian fine dining spot in Birmingham. It’s a shame the location isn’t more central because I truly believe more people need to discover this hidden gem. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was elegant, and the service from Wicktoria was outstanding – she made the whole experience for my mom even more special. Highly recommend!

We were coming to a concert in Birmingham and planned somewhere to eat. Noels sounded just right; pleasant location next to the canal and the menu looked enticing. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is light and airy in a sophisticated way, the waiters were fabulously helpful and pleasant and the food was stunningly good. It was a more expensive restaurant than we might usually go to but it was worth it as an exceptional experience. While we were expecting our table to be available for an hour and a half, we were able to stay for over 2 hours. Our waiter checked when it was needed so we knew how to pace ourselves. They do charge for service (not stated as voluntary) but the service was very good. We had appetisers of olives and bruschetta followed by the best rib eye steak ever with perfectly crisp and tasty chips . My companion had rump of lamb which she declared as delicious. These were accompanied by a lovely bottle of Italian primitivo. We finished witt the most perfect puddings ever; an apple / chocolate mousse and a mixed fresh fruit tart, with coffee to conclude. If you are in Birmingham and want a stunning meal then we wholeheartedly recommend Noels.

Downstairs, the exclusive Gold Bar provides an intimate yet opulent space. Visitors can expect an electric fine dining experience with specially crafted drinks and an exceptional 8-course tasting menu.
From the moment we stepped into Baloci Hotel in Birmingham, we knew we were in for something truly special. Themed rooms add a unique charm to this exquisite stay, and we had the pleasure of experiencing the Persian Room—a stunning blend of elegance and comfort. The bed was nothing short of heavenly—sumptuously soft yet perfectly supportive, inviting us into restful nights wrapped in opulence. Every detail of the room’s presentation reflected an impeccable eye for beauty, from the intricate decor to the perfectly curated ambiance that transported us into a world of Persian luxury. One of the highlights of our stay was the deep bathtub—an absolute haven for relaxation. Its generous size and indulgent depth made for the perfect escape after a day out, allowing us to sink into tranquility with ease. Dining at Baloci was a remarkable experience in itself. We opted for the Michelin-starred taster menu, and every bite was an exquisite celebration of flavor. Each dish was beautifully crafted, bursting with creativity and precision, delivering an unforgettable culinary journey. But above all, the service was extraordinary—indescribably top-class. Every interaction was marked by professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness, making us feel truly valued and at ease throughout our stay. A Lovely Anniversary Dinner at Baloci We recently celebrated our anniversary at Baloci, and the evening turned out to be a delightful experience. The ambience was calm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a quiet celebration. The staff were friendly, courteous, and attentive, making us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in. We started our meal with the Joojeh Koftah Kebab, which was presented well but could have been better in terms of flavor. However, the rest of the dishes truly impressed us. The Sultani Lamb Chops were succulent and well-seasoned, and the Kabuli Pulav stood out with its rich aroma and perfectly balanced flavors. Each dish was plated beautifully, adding to the overall dining experience. To accompany our meal, we tried two drinks—Persian Sage and Persepolis—both of which were refreshing and paired well with the food. What made the evening even more special was the thoughtful gesture from the staff. Knowing it was our anniversary, they greeted us with a personalized card and a plate of delicious baklava. The baklava was flaky, sweet, and just the right end to our meal. Overall, Baloci provided us with a memorable evening of good food, warm hospitality, and thoughtful details.

3 guests attended for taster menus. 2 vegetarian and 1 normal. Whole experience from start to finish was excellent. Excellent first impressions being greeted on arrival. Great service throughout from very friendly staff who were very attentive without being obtrusive. The decor is beautiful. Cocktails were excellent and the food just delicious, beautifully presented. A very chilled, relaxing experience that wasn't rushed at all. The music adds to the overall ambience and was never too loud. Excellent value for a taster menu. The only negative I would say is l would love to return to experience the Al a carte menu but vegetarian options are very limited. Can't comment about the hotel because didn't stay. Highly recommended and I'm sure we will return.

Been wanting to try the afternoon tea at Baloci for a while and finally got the chance. Fantastic service, the teas are refreshing and tasty (bear in mind I normally dislike tea) and the food is excellent. We had the vegetarian option and as my wife is allergic to beetroot they adapted the food to suit. The sandwiches were really delicious, and the scones were top notch too. The deserts were good, but not as good as the sandwiches and scones. Overall though, got to give this restaurant 5 stars.

They really need to improve the overall experience if they are ambitious about being a Mitchell star Resturant. The food wasn’t anything special. The kitchen is very close to the sitting area so you get “smoked” while waiting for your food if you ask the windows / doors to be opened then you get frozen…The prices for the hat they charge isn’t reflective of the quality of the food. This is “once only” experience never to be repeated again….i get this is expensive fine Indian dinning but still a paying customer you want quality, comfort and above all exceptional service unfortunately it lacked all.

Visiting the hotel was a truly delightful experience, and I would like to share my thoughts. From the moment I arrived, the welcoming atmosphere was immediately apparent. The staff members were exceptionally kind and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The room was well-appointed, offering a perfect blend of style and functionality. The bed was incredibly comfortable, contributing to a restful night's sleep. The hotel's amenities, such as the fitness center and restaurant, added to the overall enjoyment. The quality of the food and the service in the restaurant were both impressive and memorable. Overall, my experience was outstanding, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

I am a member with Clayton hotel. As a regular guest I can say Clayton always reached my expectations. Very good staff at the reception desk. Especially the manager Mr. Andel went above and beyond to make my stay smooth and enjoyable—always kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful. when I had an issue with the AC, he solved it right away and even upgraded my room to make sure I was comfortable. Excellent service and hospitality! Really recommend. I extended my stay because I was really happy with the hotel.

It's a shame to have to rate this hotel so low but I have the same feedback that many others are sharing about this hotel.....air conditioning! Let me start with the good bits, the hotel is in a great location near the bull ring and central shopping area. The hotel is clean, modern, bright well furnished and the staff go above and beyond to ensure that the guests have a lovely stay. The room is equally as modern, well maintained and quiet from the corridor, bed is very comfortable. However the temperature of the hotel is the main problem. On arrival the temperature in the lobby and bar area was stiflingly hot to the point my party drew breath and asked the staff why it was so hot. Of course it was no better in the room and even when setting a low temperature on the control panel it did nothing to reduce the heat of the room. Of course this just leads to a very poor nights sleep and even though on the second night the hotel provided a fan is still didn't do a whole lot to reduce the heat of the room. My recommendation to his hotel is to turn the AC back on or get it repaired. This is a great hotel but because of this one issue I would choose not to stay there again when visiting Birmingham for work. It's clear from other reviews this is not a one off and many other guests complaining about the same issue. My advice, listen to your guests, read your reviews and take some appropriate action......

The hotel lobby and common areas are nice, as is the restaurant and outside patio. Our room (515) was fine, though the carpet had stains and looked a little grubby. Comfy bed. Bathroom clean and new - the shower was good. It was good to have bottles of water. Housekeeping done every day. There could have been a little more storage. It was very quiet. The breakfast choice was good and all the food tasted fresh. I would stay here again.

This is my second time staying here and it's the second time the reception staff have let the place down. They are not very welcoming. I would have gave this place five stars had the staff been friendlier. The room and bathroom were lovely. Great shower and plenty towels. The bed is king-size and very comfortable. The air-conditioning was appreciated since it was very warm outside. It was very clean, not a single thing out of place or single stain. The room had a hairdryer, iron and ironing board which is always nice.

I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, had a less-than-ideal experience. The room was uncomfortably hot, and the staff explained it was due to a climate-control system that adjusted to the outside weather. They did provide a portable fan, but it didn't fully resolve the issue. Additionally, the room lacked a fridge, which was inconvenient. On a positive note, the room itself was a good size and nicely decorated. However, the staff's demeanor could have been more welcoming, which slightly dampened the overall experience.

This modern hotel was a perfect find for us as we needed to be on Birmingham University Campus for a couple of reasons. We were welcomed warmly and were very impressed by the hotel facilities and architecture. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and air conditioned too, so perfect! En-suite and whole hotel was spotlessly clean and clearly well maintained. Evening meals in the bar were excellent, as was the service. Breakfast in the main restaurant was a buffet style, again, with excellent food and service. Really recommend and rate this hotel, and the whole experience. Overall a good stay but unfortunately we didn't sleep because the room was so hot. First impressions, the location is lovely and once you've found the secure car park it is really convenient getting to the centre. The room was lovely and well decorated. However it was so hot the thermostat said it was 27 degrees! We couldn't get the air con to circulate cold air and didn't have a fan. We left the 3 windows open which were on the ceiling as we were on the top floor. However when we got back the room had filled with leaves from the trees above making a mess everywhere! So we had to sleep with the windows partially open and extremely hot. Then in the morning the birds made a lot of noise which continued when we shut the windows. For the price I do feel it was quite expensive. But it was a lovely hotel and had a great location with parking.
Hannah C — Google review
Great location and room on the surface looks nice but number of issues that you wouldn’t expect at this price point. Walls filthy, lots of dust about, bathtub shower head leaks onto floor, Netflix and YouTube apps on TV didn’t work and no staff onsite makes all of these tricky to fix. Nice bathtub but nothing to put in it, sign on the side brags about luxurious miniatures for the bath but there was none in the room Has potential to be great but just feels like it’s been a bit neglected
Jacob B — Google review
This was a great hotel a few years back but it's very different now and I didn't feel particularly safe staying there. The only time I saw any staff was when checking in and you now have to phone a number to talk to "reception" who are off site. When my key card failed, the reception gave us the code to a keybox to obtain one of their master keys that could open any door in the hotel. It was quite unnerving knowing that any other guest could get into any room, especially as the deadbolt on the door to my room did not work. With no staff on site, other guests were also unchallenged when arguing loudly near my room. The fire alarm was also sounding on the second night of my stay and showing a fault code. When calling reception they struggled to understand the issue and said they had finished for the day and wanted me to send an email so that someone else could deal with it! Someone did come, but they only silenced it rather than sorting whatever the fault was. Whilst the rooms are still nice and the location is good, there was a skip outside the hotel and I genuinely thought it had closed down when I first arrived. There is no longer a restaurant/bar either as that is now a separate business. With a little work this could be a great hotel again but the lack of staff and resulting safety issues would really put me off staying again.

DON'T TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE! Unfortunately we didn't get to experience this hotel because we were issued extreme weather warnings from the government instructing us not to travel due to storm Derrah. We called the hotel to explain straight away. However, because we had to cancel just inside 24hrs before our stay, they refused to defer our booking to a different date and they refused a partial refund or any help whatsoever. I made several phone calls and spoke to several people over the course of a week, I was told several times they'd get someone to call me back and nobody ever did. I had to chase this matter up over and over again, before finally being told "sorry but there's nothing we can do.... company policy" This hotel clearly doesn't care about customer experience, or customer service. They'll happily take your money without trying to help or accommodate you. I run a business myself, and if my clients had to cancel their appointments due to extreme weather warnings and it not being safe to travel, I would happily reschedule their appointments without question! I'm discussed by the attitude of this hotel! The service here definitely isn't excellent! And how they have a 4.5star rating despite having lots of 1 star reviews I do not know.

We had a lovely anniversary dinner here today with Le Petit Chef. The concept works really well and is a great way to shorten the wait between courses. The food was cooked to perfection. Always wanted to be first for breakfast at an hotel, guess that's a sad ambition but it took 65 years to achieve it 😂 So, staying at the Hyatt Regency here in Birmingham, and not for the first time. Breakfast staff were excellent, thank you. Main area of concern is the plate warmer. Nothing worse than a cold breakfast, food is hot, plate is cold, back to the table and.. well, you know. Combine that with a low ambient temperature and it's such a shame because the food quality is quite good, and there is plenty of choice. Absolutely love the smoothies If the plates had been reasonably warm it would have been an excellent breakfast, but it's a shame that a decent picture is ruined by a rubbish frame.

We went for the afternoon tea which was nice, however the service was very slow, booked a table and arrived alittle early - we were seated quickly but then waited 45 minutes for the food to be brought out, we asked for more tea and again waited a long time for this. Felt like for the price and the added cost of the service charge that it should’ve been a lot quicker.

Breakfast restaurant
The Ivy Temple Row offers a sophisticated dining experience with a mix of brasserie classics and Asian-inspired dishes. The restaurant overlooks St Phillip's Cathedral and features luxurious decor, including bird-themed printed wallpaper, golden light fixtures, and rich burnt orange booths. Guests can enjoy the 19.
Super Restaurant truly lives up to its name! The Ivy is a class!!! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The menu offers a perfect balance of classic brunch favorites and creative twists -perfectly poached eggs, and Salomon Avocado toast that’s as photogenic as it is delicious. The service is quick and friendly, and the staff especially Sylvia beautiful polish lady go out of her way to make us feel welcome. The ambiance strikes a great balance between cozy and modern, little posh, making it ideal for weekend catch-ups.
Marlena W — Google review
I travelled from Leicester to try The Ivy after hearing so much about it, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The place looks great, but the service felt rushed, our mains came out quickly after starters, which made it hard to relax and catch up with my friend. There wasn’t much variety on the menu, and while the food was decent and the drinks were okay, nothing really stood out. Staff were polite, but not as polished as I’d expected. Overall, a nice spot, but not quite a five-star experience.
REENA K — Google review
As ever the Ivy maintains its most fantastic ambience and classy service. Our food was absolutely amazing! Presentation, colour and taste was just perfect! Compliments to both the chefs and the front of house staff for their most professional and skilled efforts. I must comment on the wine mark up! We ordered a bottle of Chablis with our meal which, although a nice accompaniment, was charged at around £76. This wine can be purchased in most wine outlets for around £23! Based on how amazing the food was, I personally would rather pay more for my food than feel mugged by an overly inflated wine menu! That said, if you fancy feeling like the most special people on the planet for a cpl of hours, the staff (all of them from the front door and back) have it absolutely nailed! Thank you so very much everyone especially Klaudia. 👌😁

Excellent service, food and environment! We both decided for the little known Summer at the Ivy set menu - excellent value for money with a glass of champagne included. My crispy duck salad was excellent, as was my minute steak. The deserts were both great, but the white chocolate vanilla cheesecake with mango sorbet was the best. Would recommend the visit - although with some remarks: the Sunday roast, which cost almost the same as the 3-course menu, looked sad and overcooked. Other menu items also seemed exorbitant expensive. Drinks have London prices (a 330ml beer costs £6.5). Is it worth going? Yes. Are the prices on the menu consonant with the experience? Not sure, unless you know what to chose.

Always decent food and great service. Perfect for almost any occasion. They don’t allow decorations for celebratory events, so just bear that in mind if you’re planning something special.
Hugh P — Google review
I have to say the food was disappointing. I wanted to order the soufflé which wasn’t available so we took the waiters suggestion of their Asian salad which had the tender stem broccoli and salad was fine overall. However I would expect them to offer another starter as my main also had the same tender stem broccoli! My husband ordered the avocado dip which hardly had any avocado at all. It tasted more like a coconut/ yogurt based dip very similar to a dosa chutney! His main dish was an overcooked chicken. The only saviour was the creme brulee which was absolutely flawless. The staff were polite and the decor was beautiful. I had heard very good things about the restaurant and had high expectations but sadly won’t be going back due to the basic faults in the food especially given the price!
Lavanya P — Google review
A lovley restaurant with nice decor and great location. We really enjoyed our starters and desserts (the duck salad and the cheese souffle were both incredible!) however our main course meals were average in comparison and not of the quality we would expect for the price paid. We've had better at cheap pubs. The birthday dessert was a lovely surprise and tasted great although i wish there had been some mention of it before we ordered desserts ourselves as quite a bit of it ended up going to waste as we couldn't manage it on top of the 3 courses we'd already eaten, this is a high quality problem of course :) but i hate to see things going to waste! Service was good overall, we appreciated the call a few days before to talk through the food allergies mentioned on our booking, and in general experienced good service with friendly welcoming staff although it was difficult to get staff attention to order more drinks when our glasses were empty, the cocktails were however delicious. Overall, we enjoyed the experience but probably wouldn't return as feel its quite overpriced for the standard of food/service we received and there is room for a little improvement overall on the offering here.

Indian restaurant
Cocktail bar
Asha's Indian Fine Dining Restaurant & Cocktail Bar, owned by the renowned Hindi actress Asha Bhosle, offers a contemporary take on Indian cuisine in a sophisticated setting. Located in Birmingham, known as the UK's spiritual home of Indian food, this flagship restaurant combines the simplicity of Indian street food with the opulence fit for Maharajas.
Absolutely blew me away! As far as Indian fine dining goes, this place is a total winner. The food was just incredible. Seriously, every dish was a hit, but the Gosht Yakhni Biryani was out of this world – so fragrant and the lamb was melt-in-your-mouth tender. The Prawn Shan E Nisha was packed with flavour, and the Lobster Panchphoran? Pure luxury and perfectly spiced. Beyond the fantastic food, the whole dining experience was amazing. The atmosphere was spot-on, and the service was top-notch. And a massive shoutout to Shubham! That espresso martini he made me was hands down the best I've ever had. If you're looking for an Indian meal that's a cut above the rest, Asha's is a must-visit. You won't be disappointed!

The staff were amazing, very kind and welcoming. Very professional. Decor was very nice, unfortunately the food was not amazing. It was nice. Just disappointing for the price. I was expecting some amazing Indian cuisine experience. Unfortunately we were disappointed. It had been a very nice experience, however sadly we would not return.

Nice place, atmosphere was good, service & staff was very cordial and good. Nice deco inside, well spaced. It's a pricey one though. Food was good, surprisingly despite eating non spicy Malai Paneer & roti faced GERD, not sure why. Qnty is good. Do suggest to others to try their cuisines.

Had the executive lunch. The mint chutney, rice, panner all were awesome Service is also wonderful and top notch. Only thing they should have is one veg maharashtrian dish x 365 days. That would be the right tribute to your homeland and letting the world experiance it.

Excellent lobster curry and platter with delicious large prawns. I’ve been here a few times and the food is impressive and delicious each time. Service was friendly and fast. Recommended.

I would argue one of the best restaurants close to Birmingham new street station. Service is amazing and so is the atmosphere. Ordered the butter chicken with a side of rice and naan and another chicken dish (I cannot remember the name of it but if it looks good to you ask the server as this was 10/10 highly recommended!!).
Sarah S — Google review
Great food and excellent service. The staff are really friendly and attentive. I think if I’m honest, the dishes are a little expensive for what they are. A curry shouldn’t really be edging towards £30 and rice £8 etc. I would rate the Viceroy Tandoori down the road as better than Asha’s but prefer Asha’s to the also close by Rajdoot. Overall, I would still recommend a visit.

Cat cafe
Cafe
Kitty Café Birmingham is a haven for cats and kittens in need of care and re-homing. The facility takes in rescue cats, strays, and those with medical issues until they find their forever homes. Visitors can enjoy the company of these adorable felines while sipping on drinks and enjoying some nice food. The café has a pleasant atmosphere, with friendly staff members who ensure that guests have an enjoyable time.
To be honest, since I moved to the UK last September, I’ve hardly had the chance to see any cats at all. I’m a proper cat lover, and up in Leeds where I live, it’s really rare to come across one, let alone get to play with them. So visiting Kitty Café in Birmingham was honestly like a dream come true. I loved every moment of it – being surrounded by such cute, friendly kittens brought back all those memories of playing with them back home. The cats here are absolutely adorable, and the staff are just as lovely too. Guess it’s true what they say: people who love cats tend to be really nice/adorable, haha. And at just £8, it’s an absolute bargain for such a lovely experience. Definitely worth every penny. Next time I’m in Birmingham, I’ll be sure to pop in again for another cuddle. I really do love cats so much! 🐾
Vincent S — Google review
The cats are sweet here, there are definitely a range of personalities - some are quite playful and others are a bit less sociable, which is okay. However even if you just pet a few particular cats, they scratch you or attempt to do so... perhaps an age restriction might be good, because we noticed multiple children who made the kitties look quite frightened. Besides that the food tastes amazing and the staff are very accommodating (thanks)! There are SO many brilliant choices on the menu, it was difficult to decide🐱
Hannah — Google review
Great atmosphere, lovely staff and so many toys and climbing shelves for the cats! The cats all seemed really happy and confident (my favourite was Milk), and there was a wide range of food and drink to choose from their menu. Would also recommend to anyone who is travelling by train as its right next to the train station xx
Helena K — Google review
This was a lovely way for me and my older children to spend an hour. The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed with plenty of laid back sofa seating and arm chairs. The drinks and food menu is all very reasonably priced. The cats are just adorable. The only thing that was frustrating was a couple of younger children who persisted to run at the cats and be very overbearing whenever they appeared which was intimidating for the cats. The biggest frustration was that the parent sat scrolling through their phone oblivious, letting the children get on with it which is really not appropriate. Inevitably one of the children was scratched and they left shortly afterwards which was a relief as there was only adults and older children left and the cats seemed to be immediately more relaxed. This is no way a criticism of the cafe at all and the cats are in their home environment and I feel that parents of younger children need to be more aware of this and accompany their children around and relay the rules to them so as not to overwhelm the cats. We will definitely be visiting here again.
Samantha J — Google review
I took my niece for her birthday and we had a lovely time. The staff explained everything really well. We had some food and cocktails while we sat in the cafe too. We saw lots of different cats; some were more friendly than others. The kittens were very playful!
Alex G — Google review
Visited the Kitty Cafe today, great little spot to grab a drink and a bite to eat whilst in Birmingham. There were over 20 cats to interact with, The team were very focused on animal welfare with a set of rules in place to make sure the cats are kept safe and happy. The decor was pretty cool too & the cats had a lot of space to move around.
Mitch — Google review
Never had an hour gone by so quick. Every cat was a delight and a unique personality, the layout was funky and fun and the blackcurrant blondie was delicious! Also just when I thought I'd seen all the cats suddenly there was more I hadn't seen 😲 Any pet lovers would enjoy this!
Michael G — Google review
The cafe on a whole was a nice place, with lots of cats and plenty of places for them to go if they didn’t want fuss. However I do think this venue should have a child free policy for kids under a certain age. I understand that the kids get excited to see the cats but I found that whenever I was approached by a cat it was chased off by an unsupervised child clearly not following the rules. Because of this the cats seemed anxious. The service was also very slow, our food took almost an hour to come, I understand it was busy but we only had an hour at the table. As soon as the food finally arrived we were approached by a member of staff telling us that our time was up and as soon as we finished the food we must leave, so we ended up not even finishing it. If you want to come here, I would recommend coming in school times so it isn’t filled with children chasing cats around. But I personally wouldn’t come here again.

Nestled in the picturesque Warwickshire countryside, The Barn At Berryfields is a charming independent restaurant and events venue that has garnered multiple awards for its exceptional British cuisine. This delightful spot boasts an elegant dining area with large windows that showcase stunning views of the rolling hills and the farm's Hereford cattle grazing peacefully. The ambiance combines the rustic charm of a converted barn with modern, stylish decor, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
The food and service in the restaurant was excellent. Special thanks to Ruth, Holly and the team for making sure we had a great meal and for accommodating a special dietary requirement by adapting the menu. Nothing was too much trouble. The quality of the food is excellent and it’s great to know it’s home reared and grown. Well done to all at the Barn. Definitely recommended.

This is a fantastic location, myself and my colleagues have been visiting for a couple of years now. From over 10+ visits we have never had a bad meal, it is always excellent. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is great, and importantly the food is amazing. It is set in the countryside, the restaurant has lovely views, a wander down to the tepee lets you see the piglets, pigmy goats and the allotment. The burgers are so good, and the steaks, all locally sourced food. We have even had 2 work events hiring the tepee area and having a BBQ, it's the highlight of our work social calendar. Oh, and the mocktails are fab!

Coffee really nice and good selection of cakes. Prices a bit steep but ok. Seating area really nice but additional seating downstairs by windows could do with something to dress the windows and a fresh coat of paint wouldn't do a miss.

I always love visiting The Barn (Cafe) for their almond croissants 🥐 since I’m a coffee and croissant lover. I've been to almost all the nice cafes in the UK, so I highly recommend this place. However, the only challenge is that they only make a few croissants, and whenever I've visited—whether in the early morning or the afternoon—I’ve never managed to get two from the shelf. The coffee is nice, but the almond croissants 🥐 are definitely worth trying!

Fantastic setting outside in the garden. The tepee area was closed due to private function had just finished and the staff were cleaning up. Signage asked for you to order via the QR Code on the menu, this didn’t work well as we couldn’t add extras or omit food from the order. Had to order at the bar in the end, which was much easier. I asked the server if I should take the cutlery and condiments and she said no they will be brought over with the food. When the food arrived around 40 minutes later with a different server she said you need to fetch your own cutlery and was a little rude. Salad was very large and very good. Would definitely return.

Really lovely place and nice view. I have been here twice and each time I want to return with friends or family because I know they would love it. I love how they serve, gives a fine dine vibes. The dessert 🍨 is one of the best I have ever had! Twice now and I just want to try every dessert on their menu. Surprisingly no service charge. The person that brought our starter is so friendly, the same experience we had with him last time. I will definitely get to know his name next time. Clean environment Clean restroom 🚻

My partner and I have been returning customers for the past couple of years, and tonight we decided to visit again after seeing the delightful menu presented online. Every single time we have eaten here, we’ve been pleasantly surprised, hence why we’ve kept coming back. The staff have always been lovely, especially Carys, who has consistently been attentive, helpful, and genuinely a pleasure to deal with, she makes all of our experiences so welcoming. This evening, however, we were shocked to receive the worst customer service we have ever experienced from the restaurant . We’ve celebrated birthdays at this restaurant etc and chosen to return because our past visits have always felt valued. Unfortunately, tonight left a very unpleasant taste in our mouths. We had both ordered from the menu, but sadly the dishes did not live up to their descriptions. We had to complain about our starter, as the seafood batter was undercooked and not up to the standard we’ve enjoyed previously. Our main course, advertised as a lamb shank bhuna, was disappointing and lacked flavour for a south Asian dish. If I was to describe it, I would say it tastes like brown lamb water juice with no seasoning, this dish was not a curry it was lamb shank (tender and beautiful meat) in water, absolutely no flavour! When we raised our concerns with a senior staff member (whose name I unfortunately don’t recall), we were met with sarcasm. He dismissed our complaint by saying no other customers had raised an issue and even implied that we were lying. His remarks were insulting and completely unprofessional. He also pointed out that we didn’t like either our starter or our main course, making us feel as though we weren’t entitled to voice our dissatisfaction. Overall, his attitude was dismissive and unhelpful. I rarely leave a bad review, but I feel it’s important for the restaurant to be aware of how poor the service was tonight. Sadly, I can only give three stars on this occasion. Normally, I would have given five, but this experience has tarnished my experience completely. Unless things improve, I don’t see myself returning to the restaurant anytime soon, especially if the service remains as inadequate as it was tonight. However, the drinks at the bar were so delightful and had received some very tasty recommendations from Carys!!!

Service was amazing and waiters were very accommodating to our preference. The hake and trout were delicious !! Don’t recommend the aubergine or prawn linguine unfortunately but other mains and desserts were very good!
Priya K — Google review
Loved our dining experience but there were a few things that could have been better; • husbands steak was ordered medium rare...but came medium...it might have been sat waiting and thus wasn't what it could have been - was delicious nonetheless • peppercorn sauce was sweet! I'm used to deep rich flavours and this was overshadowed by sweetness • mac n cheese lacked flavour even with the cheese topping. I didn't know this could even be the case for a classics staple like mac n cheese. We barely touched it. • drinks orders were slow due to the bar staff being busy wuth cocktail week. We managed to get two drinks each the entire meal. The restaurant staff themselves were fantastic and as helpful as they could be. Loved their take on the cob salad. I had it with buffalo wings. I ordered fried pickles expecting only fried sliced gherkins but they were actually fried various pickled veggies which was fun. Overall I would return and be mindful of business etc and try get double drinks and clear feedback on food there and then
Neet N — Google review
Service was welcoming and mostly attentive during our visit, and the drinks were tasty. Unfortunately the vegan afternoon tea was poor - the food sadly had little flavour and was unimaginative, and felt like it had been sat around for a while before being served. Being an afternoon tea, we weren't expecting a lot of food, but particularly the savoury was underwhelming with small amounts of filling, especially compared to the non-vegan table nearby.

Lovely hotel, horrible customer service We stayed here last year and loved it so much that I regularly pop in for coffee or lunch on Saturdays when my daughter is horse riding nearby. My husband booked lunch last Saturday in the bar but we had to postpone as he was unwell. They refused to allow us move the booking out by 1 week and charged us £50 cancellation fee, for a bar lunch booking, not an afternoon tea cancellation which I could understand but a bar menu???? Not a nice way to treat your regular customers. We pleaded with them to postpone the booking by 1 week but they wouldn't budge. So we won't be back. Ever again.

This hotel really know how to provide service. It’s true that I have been here a few times but what a difference the service standards of this hotel compared to the rest. From the moment you step over the door and get greeted by the concierge, then welcomed for being a diamond member by the reception team. Health club is awesome, one of the best hotel pools around and then there is the executive lounge where you get pampered to death by queen Janise and here team. Before going to bed there is still time for a visit to Brightsmith for a nightcap or 3. Special recognition goes to Janise and Sufia in the exec lounge, Andreea and Abud the guest relationship managers then Georgian, Nadia, Zack and Alex from Brightsmith .

I didn't expect to write this but I experienced excellent service from the staff at this hotel. Even the housekeeping staff were friendly & greeted you when you walked past them in the corridor. Unfortunately the only way to give a review for an employee is through google or trip advisor - I had no way to give any positive feedback to a line manager. The staff get a small reward if they are named in a review so here goes: Great team in the Lobby Bar & Lounge 17 Oct 2025. Linda, Rachel and Lee were really good at their job, checking at appropriate intervals, but not intrusively, if we needed anything, and every time it was a with a smile. My colleague and i were really impressed. Bas on concierge jumped to help when I was looking lost and went out of his way to find me information. Jovi on Reception was so welcoming I felt that he really cared about giving great customer focused service. The actual rooms are very standard corporate hotel. Room had large bed, not great quality duvet & duvet cover or good pillows, but undersheet & mattress are good quality. No overhead lighting so it's constantly low light. Bath had hair/dust from previous guest. Toiletries are Crabtree & Evelyn which I thought were very nice. The windows actually open, hurrah!

Came to a conference organised by company. Really lovely comfortable bed and great size of room. Lovely to have a little balcony we could open as well! Unfortunately the bathroom had so much hair in the plug that it struggled to drain and we only noticed once I was in the shower. Long black hairs everywhere around the shower wall… we were blonde and brunette and hadn’t touched the bathroom shower till this point. Rather disgusting. Breakfast was sensational. Really well put together and lots of selection. But the food for the event was terrible. Understandably hard to prove food for hundreds of people but they kept running out at lunch and by the time we got up there wasn’t much left and had to wait quite a while for it to be replaced. Dinner was a sit down and soup was great, very slow service but again a lot of people. But our table seemed to be continuously missed and we had to keep asking for our bread, our soup, our mains and desserts as everyone else had them but us. Bar was also tiny and staff extremely slow and didn’t seem to know what they were doing. For an event that size it needed to be a lot bigger. 35 mins in a Que for 1 drink is quite extreme.

Came for an event. Rooms very nice and in good condition. Some rooms could benefit from walk in showers rather than showers over the tub. Breakfast had a wide variety of items which tasted good. Although I would like to see more wholemeal items rather than brown bread.

Very disappointing, nowhere near Hilton standards If you think you’re staying at a Hilton, you’re mistaken, this place has none of the Hilton quality or service you’d expect. The rooms are very old and outdated, with most facilities not working properly. The air conditioning was disconnected, and they just provided a small fan and heater instead. Even the room phone didn’t work, so for every single request I had to go four floors down to reach the reception. When I arrived, I asked the front desk who would bring my luggage up, and the receptionist just said, “Go find someone at the concierge.” No one even tried to help,I had to wander around to find someone myself to carry the bags. For laundry, I had to physically carry my clothes to reception since there was no working phone in the room. The dining experience was poor too ,only two types of salad and one club sandwich available. In the evening, there’s a small café downstairs that can bring food to your room, but only if you order through their app. The app didn’t even process my order after multiple tries. On top of that, parking was another nightmare, they charge around £15 per night, but when you return late, you’ll spend 30 minutes or more searching for a space, because during exhibitions, most spots are already taken by non-guests. There’s no reserved parking for staying guests at all. Breakfast was also a mess, long queues just to get in, most dishes were empty, and the dining hall was overcrowded and chaotic. To be fair, the staff were friendly and tried their best, but overall, this hotel is far below Hilton standards in every aspect ,maintenance, organization, and management. Definitely not worth the Hilton name.

800 roomed hotel and a 8 min walk to nec via subway or past moxy. Staff lovely room was clean and adequate. We stayed 2217 executive room overlooking unfortunately a roof but with a slight view of lake so be mindful. End corridor rooms on those floors will be better Outlook. Odd mark on carpet but clean and executive lounge nice with good food selection between 5pm & 7pm but open mainly all day for light snacks and drinks. Overall definitely worth booking and breakfast was brilliant but this is a very large hotel and can get busy extremely quickly. Staff make it .

Stayed here twice for events. First time was excellent, quiet room and accomodated for my disability in an adapted room, on the 1st floor, closest to ground. Service was excellent, provided a mini fridge for my partners essential medication free of charge. Second stay one year later, I was supposed to be accomodated in a disabled adapted room and instead we were placed in a normal room with broken aircon 4 floors up which was hell for me. I struggle with vertigo which is often triggered by the acceleration of lifts, so every time I took them to get up and downstairs I was risking getting a vertigo attack that would leave me unable to see clearly or walk straight, and may have made me vomit uncontrollably. My only other option would be to walk up and down 4 floors of stairs every day with chronic musculoskeletal pain and fatigue. My key card also did not work and I had to use my partners. I want to state for transparency that I did not report these issues to the front desk because my partner had just flown in from the USA and had driven to pick me up 150 miles away from the convention so we were both exhausted. Therefore we did not give the staff a chance to rectify these issues. Again, they provided a mini fridge for my partners essential medication free of charge - wonderful! My main reason for making this review was actually that the music by the bar was absolutely blaring when we stayed in May this year. I have hearing issues including intermittent deafness and sound senitivity and genuinely could not hear a single thing while trying to order a drink, I had to have my partner order for me - I'm shocked that he or the bar staff were able to hear each other, though. The music was literally painfully loud in my case and I could feel the vibrations in my bones - is this good for service? Aside from the negatives mentioned, both of our stays were wonderful and memorable. I would visit the Hilton again. I think the prices are very reasonable for what you get, and it feels like a home away from home in most cases!

Friendly and polite staff made for an easy check-in and check-out. Breakfast service was good, with a good range of breakfast options including gluten free cereals. Bedroom was clean and comfortable but tired.

The Best Western Plough and Harrow Hotel offers a blend of Victorian charm in the original hotel building and modern accommodations in a separate wing, complete with complimentary parking. The hotel's restaurant, The Plough, is renowned for its delectable brunch offerings such as homemade baked beans on sourdough with poached eggs and an array of breakfast options including bacon and eggs prepared in various styles.
An Exceptional Venue for the My Name Is Climate Film Festival 2025: As organizers of the My Name Is Climate Film Festival 2025, we had the distinct pleasure of hosting our two-day event at The Plough & Harrow Hotel, and we couldn't be more delighted with the experience. From the moment we began planning, the staff and owner were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and genuinely supportive, making the entire process seamless and stress-free. Their warmth and professionalism created an atmosphere that was not just welcoming, but truly felt like a collaborative partnership. The hotel itself offers a wonderful mix of art and culture, providing the perfect backdrop for our film festival. The ambiance was ideal for both our screenings and the engaging discussions and networking sessions that followed. It truly enhanced the overall experience for our filmmakers, partners, and attendees alike. Our visitors, who came from all parts of the UK and Europe, loved every aspect of the venue and couldn't stop taking pictures around! We are thoroughly impressed with every aspect of our time at The Plough & Harrow Hotel. We wholeheartedly recommend it as an outstanding venue for events, and we very much look forward to hosting our future events here. Thank you to the entire team at The Plough & Harrow Hotel for helping us make the My Name Is Climate Film Festival 2025 a resounding success!

The hotel room was disappointing. For the money paid I felt it was very dated, grubby, and in need or a serious redecoration and deep clean. There was huge cobwebs in various areas, chocolate wrappers from previous guests, stains on the carpet and what looked like damp down the side of the wall next to the sofa bed. The rails down the side of the sofa bed had brown stains on it. No ventilation in the bathroom and the taps were really hard to turn. The breakfast had sufficent choices however the containers holding the food has lids which were difficult to pick and the spoons for each individual item was above which isn't very practical. The first night we stood at the bar for almost 20mins and.ended up calling the number on reception to.get someone to come.down It took us on a long trek from reception to our room. With bags and young kids that walk was not practical as we had to go up and down several stair cases, long hallways with doors you have to pull and can't push. The hotel was clearly very quiet so why we were put so far was baffling! I won't stay there again and if i did I won't have breakfast there as it wasent worth 15pounds each and would request a newly refurbished room close to reception. The staff were very friendly and accommodating which was good and the area is perfect if you want to be somewhere central. There are nicer hotels in the area with free parking and clean rooms. Would rather go back.to the Premier Inn.

The service was not too bad. But the food was terrible not impressed. Did not get what was agreed. We chose the barbecue menu for our wedding meal.. we were promised that it would be an outdoor barbecue and that is not what we got. Instead everything was oven grilled. The buns were dry the only salad there was coleslaw and the sauce was only burger sauce.. we were thoroughly disappointed to say the least.

Good food and great company are advertised except for when there is a private event when residents are not allowed to use the facilities for which there was no notice is given to residents because it has slipped there minds. No consideration for people with accessblity needs who have chosen the to stay based in facilities advertised when booking. Poor show.

This is a fabulous hotel with excellent caring and amenable staff. I cannot fault anything about this establishment. The rooms were clean, spotless in fact, fresh and cosy. The room and water temperature are perfect. The breakfast was plentiful, hearty with a lot of variety to suit most diets. Veronique Went above and beyond to make sure I was looked after. I will be returning to the plough and Harrow on the Hagley Road, many more times in the future.

This is a beautiful hotel but unfortunately they allow a wedding party to blast out noise so loud that none of the residents can sleep until midnight. My young son was in tears and they refused to ask the DJ to turn the volume down - it is a pity as it’s is such a lovely building and in a good location.

We stayed here for two nights as a family of four the 1st and 2nd August. Rooms were very clean, parking was easy, the breakfast was lovely and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Easy to get into Birmingham and walk round edgbaston, tram station just down the road. We would stay here again.

The Centenary Lounge is a cafe in Moor Street Station that features art deco styling and serves traditional afternoon tea. It is popular with tourists, as it is one of the few places in Birmingham where afternoon tea can be had in a relaxed setting. The Express Afternoon Tea menu includes savouries, scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserve, and cakes.
Eaten here recently. It is the only cafe at the Birmingham Moor Street train station. I had sausage bap and matcha latte. Definitely recommended. Good place for getting some snacks and refreshments whilst awaiting train arrival.
Peng C — Google review
Art deco ‘old world’ train station cafe with lovely staff. Think Peaky Blinders meets Brief Encounter. Great coffee and tea but the sausage sandwich was less successful, suffering probably from being ‘kept warm’ too long the brioche (why? Excess calories and sweetness not required!) bun tasted a bit pappy and spoilt the sausage.

It is a coffee shop with a historical look that takes you to way back of the clock. It may have limited space inside but every corner of it worthy of your time. Both inside and outside has a balanced environment. There were enough comfortable sitting spaces in both areas. The decor of the shop made it an interesting place to visit. The stuffs were helpful, kind and welcoming. There were a manageable queue. There is a lot of interesting option for snaks. Had one latte and croissant and I loved it. The small glass of champagne happen to be very popular here among others, must be a good experience to enjoy while waiting for your train in lazy evening. Enjoy 😊

Lovely food and a good selection of drinks available. Staff very kind and nice seating in the concourse of the station. Ideal little stop when waiting for a train

Friendly but clueless. Retro style attracted me, but precooked bacon bun kept in heated cupboard was soggy and bacon over crisp. Had to wait for coffee as they had forgotten about it and then waited behind people who arrived minutes after I had paid. They seem easily confused about service although lovely and friendly at the same time.

Cocoa by Ali is an artisan cafe founded by Great British Bake-Off contestant Ali Imdad, known for its brunch, desserts, and hot drinks. The restaurant's aesthetic is inspired by 1920s Art Deco and the British Summer, featuring a feminine charm. Located in Birmingham's Canal Wharf area, the new store offers a larger space with Instagram-worthy pink and pastel decor. Visitors can enjoy colorful lattes and beautifully presented dishes perfect for social media posts.
I don't often leave reviews but me and my friends had such a lovely time during our afternoon tea, I just had to. Our experience was topped off with amazing customer service by Hassan (aka Hannibal), he really made our afternoon and gave us a good laugh - much appreciated. The afternoon tea itself was one of the best we've had and we frequently visit different establishments throughout the UK. Highly recommend and would go back to try the rest of the menu.

Updated review 2023- was a big fan of this place until my recent visit. Not sure why but the service quality has dropped, very slow service, went for the Chicken Katsu Sando which sounded great on paper but was very average tasting, fries came late and were extremely salty, for which I was offered a replacement. Drink did not taste good too. Not sure what’s happened but was very disappointed with my recent visit. 2021- Absolutely love the location of this cafe, a true hidden gem in Birmingham. Loved the ambience, decor and the food was delicious. Loved the presentation and the flavours. Biscoff toast was delectable and makes a great lunch spot. Would definitely recommend trying this place.

I have now found the finest coffee bar in Birmingham, probably one of the best in the UK. I have been reviewing coffee bars for over 20 years in the UK, this is exceptional. Excellent customer service, wonderful cakes and deserts, one of the best I have seen in the UK. By the river front opposite the mailbox in Birmingham. Wonderful location, you can sit outside, very reasonable prices. It now opens at 12 o’clock midday, it is very small inside probably only seats about 12/14 people so you need to go early. I had 2 cappuccinos and a wonderful cake a chocolate bar with pistachio nuts it was so fresh, beautifully made, exquisite and delightful experience, also quite a large slice which is unusual. The cappuccino was one of the best I’ve had for a very long time, served in a beautiful cup and saucer, the cake and presentation was 2nd to none. Go and support this local restaurant they deserve it, try to get along this Tuesday or Wednesday to get 50% off, which is the last week. I will definitely be going at least once a week. I cannot wait to try some of those wonderful deserts I have seen on the menu. Please save a seat for me.😀😀😀 Afternoon tea is only £10 per person this Tuesday and Wednesday. You can have unlimited drinks, wonderful sandwiches, beautiful cakes and deserts for only £10 per person. You have to book this in advance. I spoke to someone coming out who had afternoon tea with her daughter, she said it was absolutely wonderful. They even give you a 🐶 bag to take the rest of it home if you have not eaten it all. Sounds good to me.👍😀😝😝-All 9 photographs are Cocoa waterfront Birmingham.

It's been four years since I've been to England and alot has changed in this lovely city of Birmingham. My husband introduced me to this delightful tea room, the service was fantastic and the food was amazing. I never though I could eat Belgium waffles without having to take a dairy-pill (recently became lactose intolerant) but they have vegan friendly options and very fancy drinks. Weather you're a resident or a tourist, I highly recommend this place if you like sweet and , surprisingly, savory meals!

Had a great time at this place! Location: It’s literally a hidden gem in Birmingham near the canal. It’s quite small but cosy. Menu: Has breakfast, brunch, desserts (little options), milkshakes and variety of other drinks. Taste nice. In my opinion, everything is reasonably priced considering how they present the food and the place. Had the desserts and it was delicious! Interior: It has a flower wall and a table with flowers in it with lights (pictures below) which are good photo ops. It also has nice decorations on the ceilings which makes the place feel more welcoming. They also have nice music playing but I sometimes found that it was quite loud and everyone was talking over one another. Staff: The staff were lovely and were able to recommend what they thought were good. They offered us a free slice of cake if we posted the food on social media in which we took them up on! Unfortunately did not get a picture of the cake (it was really tasty) but I had the chai cake. Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting this hidden gem!

Lovely little place just outside the mailbox. I booked the afternoon tea and it was a delight! The scones were warm and fresh and the cakes and sandwiches were an acquired taste but we throughly enjoyed them. The setting is very picturesque which is abit of me. Only thing I would suggest is maybe limit the amount of customers you have in at a time as the place is small and can get cramped and humid! Also the service was quite slow but there was only one person serving at the time so we understood! The custom was lovely and I will definitely be making a return. 🌸🫖☕️🍰🧁💕

Always has good customer service. Thanks Hinna for your lovely bright smile and positive attitude. Nice ambiance provided by the location, decor, staff and food of course. Surprised with English Afternoon Tea for my birthday and it was amazing!! The platter of sandwiches and cakes etc was all presented beautifully and tasted really good. Highly recommend this place! To surprise and be surprised.

Lovely place wonderfully decorated. We stopped for a quick coffee, service was very friendly although it took 20 minutes to get our coffee. Coffee was a 4/10. The cappuccino tasted a bit weird and had basically no foam, hence it wasn't a cappuccino but a flat white. Macchiato was also not done right :(

We’ve had a lovely stay at “Lea Marston” in Sutton. The reception staff were so welcoming and we were made to feel so welcome. Reception gentleman Paul was so lovely and helped us throughout our stay. A big shout out to Maya from the bar who assisted us with everything we needed throughout our visit. She really is a credit to the hotel! Thank you for a lovely stay!

Very disappointed with how this place appears to have slipped over the years. We got married here some 24 years ago. Decided to revisit for our anniversary. Planned a Sunday lunch and a nights stay for old times sake. The place is empty, like a ghost town, no ambience, skeleton staff, run down with an obvious lack of any care or consideration. No veggie lunch option despite asking when booking. Only beef available or veg and potatoes with gravy. Ended up ordering of the main menu, but food was not good. Asked to speak to a manager or supervisor twice before check in to discuss but despite two promises to come and talk to us, no one did. We decided to cut our losses and head home instead of staying. It used to be such a nice place with very warm memories for us, so sad to see what it has become. Has so much potential, but clearly lacking management or any ambition to attract and retain clients. Unless there is a major change in how this place is run, I'm afraid I would have to recommend giving it a wide berth for the foreseeable future.

Nice hotel but overpriced. Staff friendly and proficient. Breakfast dining room chairs have collapsed seats, uncomfortable. Breakfast dining room tables sticky, not clean and varnish peeling. Bedroom 12 noisy into the early morning, very close to the bar. Bedroom 12 next to a store cupboard, noisy early morning with cleaning staff accessing new linen etc. Bedroom 12, great bed but vinyl headboard peeling. Does not look good. Bedside lamps have loose connections near the bulbs. Pod coffee machine did not work. Heavy rain through the night caused the roof gutters to overflow, sounded like Niagra. Boiler vent fumes next to bedroom window. This could be a 5 star hotel, what with all the facilities they provide, if some money was invested.

Lovely location with lots of nearby lakes and walks. Facilities okay. Quite noisy on a Sunday in the spa. Staff a mixed bag, a few were very friendly and helpful, others grumpy and unpleasant. Suspect they are understaffed as most seem stressed and the communication isn’t very good. Tried to book spa treatments and they didn’t get back to my messages. Toilet broken in our room and mattress quite lumpy. No AC so quite hot in rooms & restaurant, but they provide some table fans. Food decent. Lots of kids here so seems good for a family trip.

I stayed here with my daughter (child) recently after seeing a lot of 4 start pictures online and positive reviews. We were very exited about our stay but this very quickly ended when we got to the hotel. When we went to check in a customer was sharing her disappointment of the hotel and their family room with the receptionist. The checking process was fine but when we got to the room were were very disappointed. It was outdated, smelly and dusty. I tried to open the windows and it was like they had never been open before. There is no air con in the room. We had to use the cheap fan in the room the entire stay. When I managed to open the window all you can here is noise from the shotting range which no one mentioned and this went on until late. There was a lot of noise and banging though the night. The food at the hotel was not great. I went to the bar for a hot drink and waiting ages to be served and the bar worker left for a long time and came back with milk but could use the machine so I gave up with waiting. No water is provided in the room and told to use the bathroom sink, like what the hell?. Let me not start on about the spa and the changing rooms or even the lockers? This is a very very basic hotel which is very out dated. The customer service is also basic so don’t expect much. We will not return again.
Kiran B — Google review
If you’re thinking of becoming a member here I would strongly advise against it. The facilities are basic and not well maintained. The biggest drawback is the pure filth of the place. The changing rooms have never seen a deep clean. I’d expect a deep clean at least once per week and period cleans throughout the day. £42 p/m and you can’t even use the shower. The place is a disgrace. They won’t employ a cleaner and expect the reception/spa/gym staff to do it. It’s clearly not being done and if it is it’s not even being surface cleaned. To put it bluntly the changing rooms are diabolically filthy and there’s no excuse. Happy enough to take the direct debit every month but won’t invest in a proper cleaner. Disgusting.

Booked this as a birthday break for myself and my partner, I preordered the celebration package and that did not disappoint, the staff here went above and beyond to decorate the room and on arrival we had an ice bucket with a lovely bottle of Prosecco and 2 glasses, balloons on the bed and rose petals. I worked with Paul on reception to organise the surprise for my partner and he went above and beyond and even checked the room personally before check in. The B76 bar is absolutely fantastic, the staff member behind the bar had banter with us and was more than happy to go above and beyond for us, he was fantastic (Saturday 30th August) The pub in the hotel is absolutely fantastic, also happy to go above and beyond to help, James was on the bar on Sunday and he was brilliant, very polite and attentive to customers. The spa staff are fantastic too, they are very informative and more than happy to give thorough detail about all spa packages, we opted for the mud treatment and it was brilliant and very relaxing, both me and my partner really enjoyed it. Rooms are spotless and kept that way too, tv has plenty of channels and the beds are unbelievably soft and comfortable and the showers are out of this world with jets from every direction. Me and my partner (not pros by any means) took the opportunity to play driving range golf, was such fun and even had happy hour in the morning. The breakfast was fantastic, totally fresh and cooked to perfection, plenty of choice ie cereals, full English, yogurts and they also have fresh orange, apple juice and cold water. Overall, I’d definitely return to this hotel, it’s absolutely amazing and I couldn’t be more thankful to the friendly staff who contribute in the running of it. Ps… Maya from the bar is absolutely lovely! Couldn’t find a nicer person than her, she’s amazing and literally goes way above and beyond her job role. Thank you so much Maya! Cleanliness 10/10 Friendliness 10/10 Food and drink 10/10 Rooms 10/10 It’s been perfect and I really look forward to a return stay in the future Thank you

Firstly when I arrived I was disappointed to find my room had no air-conditioning or mini bar fridge and the room smelt, it had a old mouldy smell to it, even when I opened the windows it did not dissipate. The bed was not made properly at all, linen was not ironed, and even towels were all crinkled. Not what I expected for a 4-star hotel at all. The spa was also disappointing being so small with both private members and hotel guests using the facilities. There are only 6 lounge chairs that were occupied constantly even when guests were swimming, not allowing others to sit by leaving their belongings on them. On my last day, the Jacuzzi was out of order as they were checking the chlorine levels. When trying to swim in the pool, some day, visitors were doing back stroke and seemed to bump into others and took over the pool. Despite notices saying no jumping, people were diving in and splashing about. Then a group of 6 males arrived and made so much noise with loud voices and disruptioned the peace and quiet. The one attendant started cleaning with floors in the spa at 8pm even though the spa closed at 9pm. So that was rather disruptive. I have 2 treatments at the beauty spa, and even though I had 20% discount, I found it to be rather expensive. The facial was mainly a massage with no steaming or electrical or light therapy, just basic. They did not have a treatment menu or details on the types of facials just charged per time. The deep tissue massage was good but seemed more like a Swedish massage and the lady was not very strong. The spa staff at the start of the week were lovely but at the end of the week new ones arrived who were rather rude and abrupt. Unfortunately I will not be going back. Another thing to mention is that I did ask to upgrade my room when I arrived but they said it was fully booked so no luck there. They also only change the sheets every 3rd day if you staying for a week like I did.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel for a weekend spa retreat. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I cannot fault the hotel staff, very accomodating, from reception, restaurant, and spa. I indulged in a full body massage, which proved to be worth every penny spent - I felt exceptionally relaxed. I highly recommend the lovely lady Immie for the massage; having experienced numerous massages over the years, I can confidently say that Immie's full body massage is the best I have ever received. If this hotel were located nearby, I would undoubtedly return on a weekly basis for the massage :) Additionally, our evening meal was delightful.

We had a lovely stay at New Hall Hotel and Spa. The massage was so relaxing and the spa itself was a real treat with the pool and steam room perfect for winding down. The atmosphere felt calm and welcoming which made it easy to enjoy proper family time together. The gardens and grounds were beautiful for walks and exploring which my son loved. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The only thing I would say is the food and drinks menu is not very child friendly, but otherwise it was a really enjoyable break.

Great location and awesome Staff. They were always smiling - Especially the lovely receptionist and the lady at breakfast. Asked for non feather pillows and extra water - it was done without any fuss. Room at times got a little stuffy. And pillow choice could be improved. But the fan in the room was appreciated and nice bathroom. Overall, great stay!

I’d also like to give a special mention to Sophie, who was on hand during the event and was lovely and supportive as well. The venue itself is stunning, but it was the wonderful team – especially Isobel – who made the day so special. Thank you again!

We had afternoon tea for Mother’s Day and the food was quite poor. The sandwiches had barely any filling. We ordered 2 children’s afternoon tea and yet they only brought out 1 small version of some of the cakes. It wasn’t until we told them that they went and got cakes for both children. The grounds are beautiful and the service was decent but the food was really quite poor.

A lovely hotel, we stayed in a suite as a family of four and felt very comfortable, breakfast is great too, can’t beat a traditional fry up! The pool is great the only thing they could improve is letting kids swim any time instead of 2 hours a day (it’s summer holidays after all)!

If you're looking to elevate your dining experience in Birmingham, look no further than the Lobby on Hill Street. This chic and contemporary restaurant offers an impressive array of delectable dishes, ranging from delightful afternoon teas to hearty pasta options. Be sure to try their standout offerings like the Buddha Burger, Kerala Bean Curry, or Plantamara—each dish showcases the establishment's commitment to flavor and quality.
Great food had a Peaky Blinders afternoon tea really special ,staff are so very friendly and when you have eaten all you can you still have a slice of cake to eat excellent time

Was a lovely place, but bit difficult to find. It didn't help that there was scaffolding in front of building hiding place of name. Peaky Blinders afternoon tea was nice
LESLEY I — Google review
Don’t bother with the afternoon tea. The pictures are not what was served to us. No garnish and all bought cake fancies . This was an afternoon gift and was a nightmare to make contact as the holiday staff when I phoned had no idea where the Lobby was so no help there. The booking was confirmed hours before we were due to arrive and hey ho part of the Holiday Inn!!! The most soulless place as guess we were accommodated at the last minute , even though booked weeks ahead. To top it all we were denied a doggy bag (company policy) as no food allowed to be taken off the premises. We wrapped the left overs, departed and 3 homeless were very appreciative.
JAYNE D — Google review
Really disappointed. Looked for Lobby on the hill, excited to be taking wife for afternoon tea. Couldn't find the front door, so I went into holiday Inn next door to ask for directions, only to find I was there. Waitress then proceeded to seat us in the lobby, yes lobby, how ironic, and fetch the afternoon tea. Dumped it on the table, and we never saw her again, even though there were no other customers. Only people we witnessed were people checking in and out of the hotel. Really poor atmosphere, and to top it off, part of the food was scones and cream, but not clotted cream, just some sort of slop, like whipped cream for trifle, who even does that. No bits of salad with sandwiches, overall really disappointed. This is also classed as over 18s why I can not explain.
Ray P — Google review
With a bit of work, this could be a great quiet but cheeky cocktail spot. The maple Old Fashioned was saved from being too sweet by my barman asking "strong or sweet" - latter means a bit more booze........too much ice also. Other drinks were good
Sunil M — Google review
Just spent the afternoon @ the Lobby for a Peaky Blinders afternoon tea couldn't see the relevance or PB theme apart from the fact that we had some pork scratchings. We started with a lovely refreshing cocktail, the food was stale & an odd combination but then we had some nice cake to takeaway the service was very good enjoyed our chat up so the deal was worth it.
Marian R — Google review
Really tasty tipsy afternoon tea - a choice of cocktail (served in a teapot!) to accompany our lovely chunky filled cucumber, cheese & pickle and fresh salmon sandwiches, two warm fruit scones each with plenty of clotted cream and jam and a whole selection of cakes to finish off (we had to take these home with us as we were stuffed!). Only downside was that we didn't actually have any tea!
Steve B — Google review
Disappointing. Was expecting a nice restaurant but it's just a few tables in the Holiday Inn hotel lobby, right next to the reception desk, internet cafe, and rear public entrance to the hotel which meant cold air blasting at us every time hotel guests came in and out. We'd booked a table but there was no one to greet us when we arrived. We decided to eat elsewhere in the end. The hotel bar in the lobby looks great though! I'd recommend going there for drinks as it's stylish and relaxed.

The hotel provides comfortable rooms with modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi, interactive TVs, and 24-hour in-room dining. Guests can also enjoy access to meeting spaces, a leisure club with a pool, and dining options. The hotel's friendly staff and accommodating service enhance the overall experience for travelers.
My stay at the Arden Hotel and Leisure was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I arrived, everything was geared towards comfort, relaxation, and enjoyment. The leisure facilities were a major highlight—I thoroughly enjoyed the sauna, the pool, and the spa. Each area was clean, well-maintained, and offered the perfect atmosphere to unwind and de-stress. The bar was beautifully lit, creating a warm and inviting vibe that made it a great spot to relax in the evenings. As for the room, it was cozy and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed for a pleasant stay. Overall, my experience was fantastic, and I would definitely visit again. Arden Hotel truly knows how to make guests feel at home while providing the perfect mix of relaxation and leisure.

We travelled from Dublin to attend a wedding here. I cannot recommend the hotel more. You can tell a lot about a hotel by it's staff, and the staff here were exceptional. A special mention to Lucy. At one stage I thought she might have a clone as she was everywhere, doing everything, and always with a smile and a welcoming word!! Also Josh at the bar area. Reminded me of my nephew, always willing and able to help. The food was top notch, the rooms were clean , comfortable and quiet, and every area of service was done with thought and professionalism. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We'll definitely be back!!

I recently stayed here for a work trip. Travelling from the North it was really easy to find. The car park is secure, and the outside looks incredible. The room was clean and all the facilities you'd expect. It was overly warm throughout the entire hotel. The food was ok, and the staff (pub and restaurant) were brilliant, helpful and friendly. My only complaint would be the bad planning on their part for my room. After initially booking for 1 night, I phoned them directly and requested an extension and paid there and then. Whilst at an event the day before my scheduled check out, I received a phone call from an incredibly rude receptionist asking why my possessions were still in the room. To resolve this, I was transferred to 3 different people and resulted in me being locked out of my room twice. This was all the result of an admin error and an apology would have been nice.

Here for family party. Family rooms booked well in advance but poor single bed arrangement. Only 1 bed instead of 2 provided and sheets didn’t fit. 2 girls had to top and tail. We were able to take a dog for £25 premium which was fine. The staff were all very attentive and helpful and we were able to use the pool facilities. Food was typical corporate hotel food. The location is good for the airport and access to motorways. The hotel was clean and lounge areas spacious. This is the second time we have visited due to the convenient location to Solihull.

Our stay at the Arden Hotel was very pleasant. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. One of the biggest advantages is its close proximity to Birmingham Airport, which is especially convenient for early morning flights. Overall, it was a comfortable and practical stay, and I would happily recommend it.

Stayed for 3 nights with my wife for going locally visiting some friends in midlands. Rooms not so modern, basic but clean and nice experience with a free car parking space good room service, nice bar facilities and a restaurant. Reception staff were also really cooperative and nice. Location was also great but I had difficulty during night to navigate the entry gate due to road work and blocked roads. Wish to visit again

Stayed here last week for the National Franchise Exhibition. Brought new clothes with me and left ontop of the bed forgetting to pack or double check as I was leaving. Remembered once boarding the flight back to Ireland. Called the hotel the next day as it was very late when I arrived home. Apparently housekeeping did not find anything which i hate saying this but that wpuld be a lie. Please beware when booking and double check you have everything before leaving.
Brian P — Google review
Brilliant hotel, we stayed at the start and end of our holiday around our flights. It's so easy to get to the airport. The rooms are a little dated but very comfortable, could do with being upgraded to have air conditioning but a fan was provided which helped loads in the warm weather. The staff are polite and helpful and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend.

Really excellent hotel Booked it as part of a flight package and we struck it lucky as it was excellent, I've stayed in a few Hiltons but this the best so far. From arrival the reception staff were brilliant and explained everything thoroughly and we were made feel right at home. Breakfast was also excellent and the location of the hotel is great for visiting Birmingham with everything so close. Highly recommend

Nice, quiet and clean rooms. Appreciated the sensational scented Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries available. Not as spacious as many of the other hotels available at similar rates though, staff are accommodating and friendly which can really turn things around

I feel that the bathroom, especially the shower tiles, need redoing. Bad mould. Our carpet wasn't vacuumed properly either. Bar staff helpful particularly with regard to supplying little bottles of fresh milk, etc.

A really lovely hotel right in the heart of Birmingham with easy access to all the main areas. The rooms were immaculate and well serviced. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and plenty to eat.

After explaining clearly over the phone that the payment had already left my husband’s account, my concerns were dismissed. Instead, I continued to receive repeated phone calls and emails, despite informing your colleague that I was travelling home and unable to make another payment immediately. The morning after my stay, I was shocked to discover that you had attempted to take four separate payments of different amounts from my bank account. This is completely unacceptable. After sending that email I received an email saying that I could have a room at a discounted price. I tried to book a room on Thursday and was told that the person who promised me this is no longer at the hotel and that I would need to email proof of this over what I did and I still have not heard anything back.
Amy L — Google review
Lobby, bar restaurant etc. are all very shiny, helpful staff, downstairs car park is handy but had some trouble getting in (despite pre-booking). The room was reasonably furnished, though I found the bed uncomfortable. Breakfast in the restaurant was self service buffet, well stocked with hot and cold options. For a business trip? Fine. For a holiday? Maybe not.
James S — Google review
Close to arena bed comfy, bathroom has limescale around toilet plunger, fridge was hidden at the side of the room at window. Caused confusion. Kettle not in room. Very very basic tea, no biscuits ect. When checking in did not feel welcomed at all. Breakfast finishes at 9.30 which was probably the earliest I have seen breakfast finishes at in a hotel. So missed that. Honestly would never stay again
Stephanie M — Google review
The worst night ever. Room was stuffy , air con didn’t do anything , literally had no sleep at all. The bed was uncomfortable , pillows were terrible. Parking under the hotel is the tightest to manoeuvre round, booked it and it was over capacity so ended up just leaving the car blocking others in. Service was ok. Location perfect for Utilita venue. Let’s hope breakfast is ok *update* Congratulations to the chef ! To be able to make bacon tasteless requires a certain skill, pan o chocolate and cinnamon rolls freshly baked the week prior making them as succulent as a door wedge. Although some small bits of the hotel require a refurb the standard of cleaning was high, the decor in the lounge bar and reception was nice, the staff have been very polite something the manager should be proud of.

The Macdonald Burlington Hotel is a charming Victorian establishment located in the heart of a vibrant city. With its chic rooms, steak restaurant, and afternoon tea lounge, it offers both comfort and elegance. The hotel's central location provides easy access to world-class shopping amenities, restaurants, bars, and entertainment options. Each of the 112 rooms features a comfortable bed with crisp bedding, a flat screen television, and air conditioning.
This is a lovely place to stay in a great location. The hotel itself is decorated in what I would describe as "old money" style - nice and clean and in places expensive looking but in other ways it can seem dated, but that's just a matter of opinion. Never the less, I cannot fault it. The staff were lovely and the room was immaculately clean. Our bed was very comfortable. Loads of wardrobe space. The bathroom was massive. There's a bar inside the hotel but there's also Bacchus Bar downstairs - not part of the hotel but just in the floor below. Really interesting, different bar. Parking was easy, we used the car park above Grand Central so it's literally a 2 minute walk through the station and across the road. We weren't woken up during the night by other guests, which is always a bonus! You won't need transport staying here. Everything is within walking distance.

Location is amazing if you travel by train. It's literally over the road. The Room I stayed in was very compact. However clean and comfy, the in room tea was lovely. Shower was good. I had a cooked breakfast, which was good. The coffee wasn't great, however the service was very nice.
John K — Google review
Staff were excellent, dining service was excellent. The breakfast was great. Rooms were clean. The Decor was old school with Shinning vibs which is a positive thing for me. The room had no working AC which made the room very stuffy, thankfully they did supply a fan. And the view from my 333 room was original. The Hotel is in the Centre of the city so it's perfect for a city visit I would stay again
Ashmansworth — Google review
Great location right opposite main station. Traditional hotel, large room and shower so so powerful! You could tell it caused problems as small damage to floors but bathroom was ok, not the most modern but clean. Luxury bedding & pillows were lovely for a great nights sleep. The staff on reception were very friendly, for breakfast not as. We waited a couple of minutes to be seated and four staff walked past us. They were busy but thought they could have said Good Morning and smiled to us but we were just ignored.- not great hospitality. Breakfast was included, if you had a full English but some of the others items had a supplement (see photo) which I thought was strange as products no more expensive. Maybe, they charged this so kitchen could concentrate on just a couple of items on the menu. During the day, bar service was friendly and efficient. Stayed just for one night and so very worth it for location.
Craig K — Google review
A tired hotel in a great location for exploring Birmingham. This was once a great hotel but sadly it needs a bit of TLC and some smiles from the staff. The reception staff we engaged with over our stay weren't cheerful or keen in their work. Our room was pleasant but weak water pressure and a green flashing light kept it from being special. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the pillows were amazing. Breakfast was fine but half the items incurred a surcharge which was very odd.
Sarah S — Google review
Booked a suite weeks before arrival. Temperature over 34C - given keys to suite. On arrival in room - no air conditioning. Contacted reception- was told someone would be up in 5 minutes. 15 minutes later; nobody arrived and seeing as it takes 5 minutes to get through on my phone I went down - I was told they open the windows on every room and put a fan in as well and not everyone likes air conditioning- even though listed on their website - I did book directly with the hotel. No other suite available so moved to a ‘super deluxe’ room. No window. No fridge but did have air conditioning - had to suck it up and given a 25% refund. It was a special occasion and lack lustre. One lift for everything including back of house as far as I could tell with the trolleys going up and down. Fire alarm went off just as we were departing on our last morning. Breakfast was Ok but depended on staff. I lived in Birmingham for years and always wanted to stay there; coming back to visit I thought would be a treat - it was an anniversary weekend and the hotel was a little tired and in real need of an update. What a shame!
Claire — Google review
Had to change rooms as air con not working. Next room only one available and below standard we paid for. Difference in money happily refunded by the pleasant staff but not the point.
Davey F — Google review
It was my first visit to Birmingham as I had a business meeting there at this hotel. I'd say it's a historical hotel, access to it through an elegant arcade. I didn't get to see the rooms, but the atmosphere looked relaxed. Great location, right in the city centre, minutes away from shopping centre or restaurants.

Lovely stay, great value for money. The location was perfect for our visit. The room was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. All staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Gerry who was very helpful on reception on the morning we checked out.

Excellent service from Stef,Gabbie and Mairita on reception. Very helpful and totally pleasant. A lovely greeting on entering the hotel. Room basic but clean and tidy. Only gripe is the chair was over big for the size of the room , had to do a bit of side stepping with there being 2 occupants

I arrived at the hotel early on both occasions, due to setting off earier to miss the traffic. When i arrived at the hotel i was warmly welcomed by Mairita who not only assisted me with the check in process, but also put me at ease, as i was a little anxious being somewhere new after travelling for approx 4 hours. Furthermore the first week i stayed here she allowed me an early check in time once the room was ready, and to top it off my second week of stay she did it again. I am very happy with this service and would recomend. Great customer care skills. 😀

Facilities were not the newest but gave me everything I need during my stay. The staff, however, went above and beyond - Aruna at the fitness center reception was SO kind and helpful and made a swim and sauna possible for me when I'd forgotten my gear at home. She really made my morning and my stay at the hotel great!

A warm friendly welcome. Only stayed for one night but room was adequate with tea/coffee in the room, bed really comfortable and a good night sleep was had. Only had breakfast which was fresh, plentiful and hot. On checking out Mairita was on hand to ensure your checkout was as smooth as your check in. Nothing was too much trouble.

Nice big hotel located on Hagley road, outer rooms on the curve are lovely big and have plenty of space. However the internal rooms on the inside of the curve are remarkably smaller and feel much less inviting. However regardless, staff are lovely and the bar/restaurant are good but a little pricey.
Adam L — Google review
The hotel doesn't look up to much from the outside as it's in much need of some TLC but the reception area was a pleasant surprise & the lady in the desk was lovely. The room was small but very nice & did the job for the night at a very good price. We had a full English breakfast in the morning for an additional £10 and it was an all you can buffet style and was good.
Liam P — Google review
For the price the hotel was perfect. There was some noise in the middle of the night as it didn't seem like the walls was thick enough but it was also due to noisy people. Otherwise it was pet friendly, service was good and the protected parking was a bonus. The check-in process was smooth as was the check out. The rooms are a bit dated and small but its great if you need a place to just lay down for a night and budget friendly.
Amo O — Google review
I had a 1 night stay while my son was recovering from an operation. Free parking was a massive plus point. On arrival to reception the lady was very helpful. Lobby and bar area very nice. Corridors on 5th floor are a bit dark and in need of redecoration but it was very clean. I had a small double room and yes the room was very small but it was ideal for my needs. Comfy, clean bed. Rest of the room was clean and tidy. While using the bar and checking out the following day the staff were as equally friendly and helpful. All in all a pleasant visit.
Steven M — Google review
Additional - no hot water in morning. Nothing. Ran taps for 10 minutes and nothing so no shower. Skipping breakfast and getting out of this tip. Business trip. £80 a night. Tiny room and in a mess. This is not good enough for 2022. Threadbare carpets, broken glass on floor, mould in bathroom and finger prints everywhere. After showing the pictures to reception, she booked me into a larger room where the carpet was just intact. She was pleasant and polite and understanding. The new room was still very dated though with finger prints in switches and doors and nose prints on windows. The place makes you want to disinfect yourself when you leave. Better off in a Travelodge for half the price. This place needs some serious TLC but the staff were wonderful. Pity the cleaners aren't.
Simon P — Google review
Quite surprised at how small the room was, but nothing wrong with it. Lovely deep bath. Breakfast was what you expected. Did love the mugs (proper cuppa tea needed in the morning). Only down side to the hotel was that our floor (4)smelled of weed really badly, very over powering and felt it sticking to my clothes. No I didn't complain as I am sure they already knew about it as the smell been there before I booked in.
J S — Google review
The hotel is a cylinder as such the rooms come in bizarre shapes many pizza slice shaped. My booking saw me use 2 different rooms. The smaller rooms are quirky and fun but adults can roll off single beds be careful.... Breakfast was fantastic i cheerish the time i had with their sausages, their mushrooms & beans were spot on too. Hash browns could probably do with another minute. The bar is a bit pricey, i wish it stayed open longer though.
C4Darkmane — Google review
We stayed in this hotel to explore Birmingham, art galleries, go for music gig in O2rena. It looks dated a bit from outside ,but we had nice, clean room. I will not leave review with moaning about carpet or cold floor in bathroom. It was clean, warm, bed was comfy, breakfast was good, and it was great price to stay for this occasion. Staff was friendly and professional. Really nothing to complain.

I recently stayed at the Marriott and had an excellent experience. The hotel is modern, clean, and very comfortable, but what truly made my stay outstanding was the service. Francis and Rogerta were fantastic — professional, friendly, and always willing to help. They made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. I also want to give special recognition to the overnight staff at the Marriott, who were just as attentive and supportive. Their patience and kindness, even at the late hours, showed real dedication and made me feel well cared for throughout my stay. It’s rare to find a team that consistently goes above and beyond, but the staff here truly do. I’ll absolutely be recommending this Marriott to others and will look forward to returning myself.

Absolutely fantastic stay here. Great location and warm welcoming staff. Room was perfect. Clean, (credit to the cleaning team here) spacious and well stocked with water, tea and coffee. Bathroom was great, plenty of strong hot water and space to put your wash kit. 100% coming back here next time.

Room was very spacious and had good facilities (fridge, safe, kettle, ironing board and iron, hairdryer). You can connect to the TV quite easily with your phone. We had a comfortable stay, the aircon helped as we couldn’t open the doors in the room. Bed was comfortable and showers were nice. What really stood out is that he even let me get behind the bar and make my own passion fruit margarita , which made the night unforgettable. His energy and hospitality are unmatched – if you’re looking for a great time and top-notch service, Cosmo is definitely the one to see!

I asked for a recommendation for a shot. This man cosmo, went over to the strawberry fields, picked some fresh strawberries and whipped up some cream and made me a strawberries and cream shot. Tasted so fresh and tasty. Kalum is such a brilliant cocktail teacher.

Amazing food. Really great, personable and hospitable service. Would love to go there again. We struggled at the beginning to figure out where to go. But that gave us an excuse to walk around the gardens and explore the surroundings. This was a great experience. They gave us a loaf of bread at the end to take home. Loved it! Thank you amazong chefs. See you soon :)

We enjoyed a very relaxing stay in lovely surroundings both inside our room, the hotel generally, the restaurant and outside around the estate. The food was of a very high order and the service was professional, courteous and friendly throughout. The pre-dinner cocktails provided a flavour experience we had not enjoyed before. We would both like to return.

We stopped in a feature room, great size and superbly equipped. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Loved the themed rooms on the ground floor, games room, bar lounge and a relaxed seating area. Also a great outdoor seating area. Worth noting that sat nav (Waze) directed us to the delivery entrance and not the main drive way!

I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful wedding at Hampton Manor this summer and absolutely loved it! The venue is elegant, full of charm and surrounded by stunning gardens where they had an outdoor ceremony. The team were kind, professional and made the day run seamlessly. It’s such an inspiring location for photography and I’d love to return again soon ❤️

We were at a family wedding and stayed at Hampton Manor for the night having driven from near York. The hotel has stunning decor, beautiful rooms, to top it all the staff were very polite and very helpful. The food at the wedding was superb. We would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to our friends and family. Joanne, Mark, Ben and Harry

Our stay at Hampton Manor was part of our businesses 10 year celebration. It was an opportunity to get together, have some fun and enjoy ourselves. Hampton Manor did not disappoint. From the welcome at reception by Tee, the cooking class with Chris, the wine tasting with James, walks around the grounds, the rooms and the evening dinner, again by Chris and colleagues providing great service with outstanding food, we all had a fabulous time. Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you again soon, Andy

French restaurant
Café Rouge - Birmingham Brindley Place is a chain bistro known for serving French classics in a retro Parisian setting. While some customers found the food to be good but not exceptional, others enjoyed dishes like the French onion soup and vegan chickpea burger. The atmosphere was described as comfortable and inviting, with friendly staff providing attentive service despite potential understaffing issues. Prices were considered reasonable and portion sizes generous, making it a worthwhile dining experience overall.
Great food. Friendly staff and good atmosphere in the restaurant. Prices very reasonable and portion sizes good.
Keith B — Google review
We are only giving 1 star because zero is not an option. It is impossible to put into words how bad this was from start to finish. First off we were greeted by a rude staff member who made us walk 10 steps to a different door for no real reason. We then waited 25 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Starters came but 1 of 4 missing. Main courses arrived after more than 30 mins and after asking and being given a rude response. What turned up was supposedly risotto however more resembled a mix between baby food and porridge and was totally inedible. The manager came to speak To us and was also extremely rude. We asked for our desserts which eventually came (wrong) and what was supposedly vanilla ice cream turned out to be some kind of cheese. The only positive was 1 lovely and very embarrassed front of house person. Cafe Rouge you have lost 4 customers. Everyone else we have warned you.
Nina C — Google review
Food was ok but the service was very slow and staff not very friendly. Much better places to eat nearby.
John S — Google review
It wasn't a bad place to eat, but I probably wouldn't go again. It's expensive and didn't feel French. I went with friends and we were talking and a waiter rudely interupted us. We weren't ready to order and struggled to get the attention of someone when we were ready, it seemed as though we were being ignored as the place was really quiet yet the staff didn't look over to see if we were ready. The food was nice, but I doubt the desert was made by them as it tasted shop bought instead of home made. I've tasted fresh French deserts and this didn't come close.
Joanne C — Google review
The staff were lovely and inviting. The atmosphere was comfy. The negatives that we had were the food wasn't top notch. Don't het me wrong it was good. Just not 5 star good. 4 star good definitely. Word of advice, the creme brule is not supposed to have burnt marshmallow flavoured sugar on top. Made the whole dessert taste burnt. The tulle was perfect. The French onion soup as authentically done as well. Lack of veggie sides was the negative as well but they make up for it in portion size!
Elizabeth C — Google review
Atmosphere is a delight but spoilt with the presentation and taste of the food. Eggs Benedict the eggs were hard. The full breakfast was warmed till dry Sour dough bread was hard and te eggs was unappealing. Not a nice experience.
Lourn F — Google review
Nice and cosy restaurant, but the food was decent. There was not a good variation of choices, I had roast chicken supreme and chocolate tarte, which tasted good but did not excite me or my tongue!
Naomi A — Google review
Was warned upon entering that there was an unusually long wait for food or even drinks. I think they were understaffed. However, I was set on this place and wasn’t on a strict timeline so decided to stay. It was worth it. I had the vegan chickpea burger and it was one of the best vegan sandwiches I had. My server was very sweet and attentive despite being very busy. Great atmosphere.

At The Woods is a woodland-themed restaurant located in the Mailbox. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience with its bird cage and tree house decor. The menu features a variety of options for both adults and kids, including lesser-seen ingredients like stinging nettles and quail, as well as small plates, salads, burgers, chicken tenders, and nachos. Despite some limitations on the menu due to busy days, the food and service are highly praised by visitors.
We absolutely love this place, our first visit yesterday 17/5 but it certainly won't be our last. We arrived half an hour earlier than our reservation time,I was apologetic but the guy who was at front of house seated us with no drama,we had a great window seat and a nice quiet private table for 2. We ordered from the brunch menu, it all sounded amazing but we ordered the bubble and squeak fritters and the seeded bagel accompanied by coffee. Our coffees were brought promptly, and our food followed 10 minutes later. The food was delicious, hot, tasty and a generous serving.the fritters were amazing,I'm still thinking about them now! We ordered a couple more drinks, ice tea was superb, ice cold and super sweet and in a cool glass. At the woods is beautifully decorated, lots of flora and bird song, but very tastefully done. People were stopping to take pictures as the walked past,it's quite an enchanting place to be. Staff were lovely, friendly and polite and very welcoming. And a big thankyou for the lovely touch at the end of our meal,it was very sweet of you. We look forward to visiting again soon.

What an experience. Lily our waitress went above and beyond to make my sisters and mine special day out wonderful. We all chose different salads with different sides. The presentation was outstanding and wonderful flavours. We chose our cocktails by which glass they would arrive in, which made us chuckle. But the bit we enjoyed the most was dessert. Mine came in a garden trowel, whomever makes their puds must have great fun. The atmosphere was very carm and relaxed for a Saturday afternoon in Birmingham. We will return

Exceptional Sunday late breakfast. A great welcome and a lovely looking room. The table-light to tell your server when you’re ready is a brilliant idea. The food was freshly cooked and great quality and was piping hot. The portion-sizes were generous too. Coffee was delicious and we were enjoying ourselves so much that we had a second cup. Radwan, our server, was friendly and very helpful. The team dealt with my wife’s chilli allergy perfectly and the whole experience was one f the best we’ve had anywhere.

Enjoyed my meal and thought it was so well presented. Staff was lovely, and thanks to the light system which signalled if you needed them, they weren't hoovering which can be annoying but staff were perfectly helpful. Had the duck dinner which was lovely and fresh, not tart but sweet and succulent and so well presented. Staff were wonderful about allergies and so quick with drink service. Had the lost in the woods which was sweet and creamy as well as a brain shot which was perfect for a pallet cleanser. The creme brulee was the highlight with a perfect crust and the biscuits were good for off setting the sugar. Hot chocolate was wonderful and full of marshmallows. Perfect meal 10 out 10. Note the terrarium dessert is very rich so make sure you have a drink ready or something to off set as difficult to eat otherwise.

Wwooowww this place is a must one of the best places I've ever been for a meal, the light ordering system is brilliant one colour for u wanting to order the other light that you're fine. I had the venison puddings for starter and duck for main and it was absolutely delicious, my partner had the cola wings for starter and the burger in the woods (venison burger) for main he said it was absolutely lovely. Would highly recommend it

We called in for drinks whilst staying in the mailbox. It’s an independent restaurant in a city where there are a lot of chains We were greeted by luke who introduced us to the concept of how things worked and was very pleasant and professional We ordered a large red wine and a Hugo, we got two Hugo as apparently before 7pm it’s 2 for 1 We had the same in a nearby place the night before and the cocktails were small and, we felt, watered down, here at the woods, the Hugo cocktails were perfect, we know as we also serve Hugo in our own restaurant - thanks to barman Curtis! Delicious drinks Love the decor, very cool but cozy, would have liked to try the food but only in the country one day. Wishing them the best of success Thanks Luke and guys Ps good playlist at the right level too

Overall, they need to make alot of improvements. Room services, décoration and cleaning; the bathrooms are smelly and the outside is indésirable just awful and it doesn't look as a hotel, instead it looks as an industrial or a manufacturer. It has an event venue on ground floor. There's an opportunity now for them to make the most of it. The BBC is building an studio just adjacent it.

Amazing room, wonderful staff and free pizza!! They run this hotel with pride and make every guest feel special! Ive been meaning to leave a review for this hotel for some time but hadn't got round to it. We arrived early to the hotel but this didn't matter, we were given a beautiful, clean, huge room, I can honestly say I don't think the suite I was given on my wedding day was even as beautiful and grand. We were on a girl's weekend , had been out all day shopping, when got back to get ready to go out again, we were feeling absolutely starving, we rang the room service and requested pizza, it was made and sent up in no time, what a scrumptious pizza it was too. More about the room, the 2 bathrooms, yes I said 2 bathrooms were huge so could get ready separately, the decor so beautiful, lighting great, had a sofa and grand furniture, lots of complimentary items in the room. Once ready, we decided to have a drink at the bar, in the most amazing lobby, staff were so welcoming. After our night out on the town which we really enjoyed, it was time for bed, what a comfortable bed! there wasn't enough pillows for my friend, but even though was late, gave reception a ring and was provided with more instantly, we had the best sleep ever. In the morning, went down for breakfast, was served a huge full English breakfast with toast and tea, was perfectly cooked, just what we needed. We went to pay for our room and we questioned we hadn't paid for the pizza, the manager said don't worry it's on the house to our surprise :) two very happy ladies indeed. Thank you, for the best stay and making us feel like princesses, we will be back very soon and can I say what a bargain this hotel is.
REBECCA W — Google review
It is situated very close to city centre. It's a nice place but it requires some modernisation. Hotel lobby is small but comfortable. Staff is welcoming and helpful. They have sufficient parking for their guests. There is a function hall in the basement for Seminars or conferences or Receptions The disabled toilet in the basement needs some attention. It's door lock is broken since many months but management has a novel idea , they have provided a wooden chair in the disabled toilet. When you want to use it, place wooden chair to block the door. Central heating is fine inside lobby or in rooms but not that great in the basement hall. Overall experience was satisfactory
MUHAMMAD S — Google review
Would love to give 5 stars as the staff were lovely, so helpful and accommodating. The location is very handy for the city centre but unfortunately not in the most glamorous of areas. The whole hotel needs a refurb but downstairs is clean and comfortable and serves great coffee. It's a dog-friendly hotel in central Birmingham, so a tick for us.
Cookie C — Google review
The staff were nice and helpful but I can't give the hotel more than one star. The Ladbrooke is the West Midlands answer to Faulty Towers!! There were so many issues with the hotel I don't know where to start. There was a shower curtain over the window in the bathroom and the window frame was rotten. The taps in the bathroom wobbled and due to the strange design of them we got soaked every time we washed our hands. The ironing board was broken and nothing worked properly including lights. The beds seemed unstable and I felt that I was going to fall when I turned. To top it off the room smelt awful. The cleanliness of the hotel wasn't good either. I nearly went back home. The area where the hotel is seemed a bit dodgy and there is a club nearby so if you want to go to sleep you have no chance. We didn't stay for breakfast as we didn't want to risk it. Wouldn't stay again. No way.

🌟 Hidden Gem in Kings Heath Park! 🌟 Took the kids to Cartlands Tea Rooms over the weekend and what a lovely experience it was! We had a delicious cream tea – fresh scones, jam and clotted cream, all served with a proper pot of tea in this beautifully kept, high-quality tearoom. The kids absolutely loved their ice cream and enjoyed the warm, welcoming atmosphere. It’s such a peaceful spot tucked away in the heart of Kings Heath Park – a real hidden gem! Perfect for a relaxing treat after a walk or play in the park. Highly recommend for families or anyone wanting a traditional tearoom experience with charm and friendly service.

As we are not from the area, we found this beautiful place online as me, my mum and sisters were visiting. We were a bit worried after reading some of the reviews, but what a lovely time we had. The afternoon tea was perfect, plenty of food and cups of tea and the staff were brilliant, the young lady who we didn’t get her name and Lewis both looked after us. Will definitely revisit when next in the area. Thank you for making our day special.

I went to Cartlands Tea room after spending a lovely day at the park, the staff were really friendly and talkative they had a lovely conversation with me. Looking around they have various different clubs/ activities which is amazing for our community. I ordered an apple pie and a latte, the apple pie was perfectly warm and was served with custard it was delicious, the latte was equally as good as well as this the service was amazing. I highly recommend.

I’ve visited Kings Heath park for over 50 years, the setting is beautiful but it’s such a shame that the Cartland tea rooms is so over priced! Their pricing is misleading, no menus and when we queried what we thought was an over charge we were told that the prices on the board were take away prices! They don’t display the eat in costs! We paid over £18 for a coffee, tea and two cream scones! The coffee wasn’t great and it certainly doesn’t get sold with a smile! The owners just seem miserable which surprises me as they are marking their prices so high! This place could be so much more, it just needs new managers who enjoy there jobs, and love their beautiful surroundings! I love supporting independent cafes but we won’t be returning to Cartlands!
Justine C — Google review
I go to the tea rooms frequently when walking the dog. (The dog always runs up to go in when we go past). I often go with family members or friends. It is a welcoming and relaxing place and the food is lovely. Last year they organised a surprise birthday party for my son which went brilliantly and they easily provided vegan options. Vegan birthday cake was so delicious.

This is the best afternoon tea in Birmingham hands down! We booked last minute and the staff were very accommodating. Everything is very unique, and the scones are huge and warm. Great selection of drinks with free refills of tea, and the service was super friendly. The ingredients are locally sourced and the savoury items were delicious, way better than standard boring sandwiches! The sweet items were the perfect amount of sweetness, and not sickly sweet. Was also pleasantly surprised that the scones were an entire separate “course”, but it wasn’t too much portion wise, which was great. I would come back here again for sure.

Best afternoon we have had ❤️ I booked and afternoon tea for me and my mum, we turned off and were seated then all of the menu and extras were explained to us. The afternoon tea itself was so yummy, nothing like the usual sandwiches, pastries were warm and flavourful. The scones came out after, they were warm and pre-cut for us so no mess (the small things!) and came with clotted cream and jam. We didn't feel rushed and enjoyed a glass of wine after. Staff were lovely, very chilled atmosphere. Will certainly go back!

We celebrated our wedding party in Kilo Zero, and I would say our experience was incredibly amazing. The place is indeed beautiful, so we didn't get stressed with the set-up. It is truly a good venue for special events, and the most important thing is that they have the nicest and most helpful staff. Kudos to Jamie and Mark, who've been very nice and helpful. We really appreciate you two. Thank you so much for staying with us from the start to the end of our party.

22 of us attended KiloZiro for our friend’s 50th birthday celebrations. We had the most amazing time! The booking process was easy, the owner Jeanette was very accommodating and was contactable, which when organising an event for that many people when you’re not used to it, it’s very reassuring. The Signature afternoon tea was delicious, very in sync with the season and venue. It was a nice touch that the servers kindly explained where our food was sourced and how this contributes to sustainability. The servers were always available and checked on us multiple times, no one was without a drink or waiting for anyone to come over. It was a beautiful afternoon and a perfect setting for a catch up with friends and an opportunity to celebrate a special day. Thank you so much :)

Really delicious afternoon tea for a special occasion, the choices are something a bit different to what you might usually get (no finger sandwiches!) but it was super tasty and a good talking point. Very generous as well for the price including a drink. Service was great and very flexible dealing with us as a larger group.

Hosted a private party at Kilo Ziro and they were absolutely amazing. The bar is so tastefully decorated and stylish. The owners couldn’t be any more accommodating helping us sort out catering, decor and a saxophonist! In the run up to the event the team were great answering questions and getting all the information they needed. On the night they were amazing - friendly bar staff, bespoke delicious cocktails and a really good vibe. Would really recommend for private hire but also look forward to returning to try some of their delicious cocktails! We had the best night ever - thank you Kilo Ziro

I visited here on a recent visit to Birmingham. I'd heard about their vegan, Christmas, afternoon tea menu via Birmingham Vegans fb group. The servers were v.friendly and met all of our needs, checking if there were any allergies. We ate mini bites with tea and alcoholic beverages, too. In the bathroom, it advertises special events occurring throughout the week. I'd revisit this restaurant.

Delicious cocktails lovingly crafted by the extremely knowledgeable and friendly bar staff. It also boasts a wide selection of craft beer and wine. The cheeseboard was phenomenal, the olives were to die for, and the artisan truffles were probably the most pleasurable things I've ever put in my mouth. There's a lot of passion in this place, and it certainly shows. Can't recommend it enough. Happy birthday, guys!

Very pleased that before we ordered or paid, we were told there would be a wait on the food of 20min. This was very helpful as we then ordered and walked around the garden and came back. Food came when they told us it would. Vegan curry and chips were lovely. Also had vegan kitkat, vegan orange chocolate cake, which was very delicious and vegan oat milk with the tea. Nice having free tap water with ice available. More tables and a better layout than years ago. Prices are reasonable.

Paid over £3 for this "cup" of vanilla latte which came half empty, when I questioned this I was advised that's how it comes. So want to share this review to let everyone else know as not really what I'd expect from a regular coffee.

Never eat here. The food is very poor. Tasteless and obviously cheap ingredients. Cheese didn’t even taste of cheese, was just gross. I gave verbal feedback to the staff who didn’t seem interested and no apology.

The food is ok, just average cafe grub really, but I’m giving 5 stars as it’s great to see so many veggie & vegan options in a small cafe. Some plant-based things on the menu: - Vegan cheese and tomato baguette - Quorn nuggets and chips - Vegan Cakes - falafel salad with hummus - Jacket potato with vegan toppings - vg cheese, beans, vg coleslaw - Soy milk for coffee The fryer was broken when we visited but the staff were helpful finding out if they could use vegan cheese on the jacket spuds so we could still have a hot meal. The portions were very filling - I had a large potato, lots of beans, a homemade lovely vegan coleslaw and a side salad. Nice to look out across the park and the bandstand whilst having something to eat and drink.

Shocked at the bad reviews for this place, granted they were a while ago though so hopefully they've really improved this place of late. Loads of vegan options which was great to see. Is on the expensive side which is why I couldn't give that 5th star but everything else was lovely, including the staff

This is the worst place I’ve ever been to! Have been served with the worst manner possible! Asked them to warm my scone and they refused . However I bought one in hope it will be okay... it was rock solid ! Have showed to a man at the till and been treated again very rude ! I have got a refund for the scone (3.10) but that doesn’t change the fact that staff where unprofessional especially the man ( I think he was some sort of manager ) and I felt as they where racist too! I will not gonna go there ever again! I wish I wouldn’t have stepped in there in first place !!!!

Terrible. Not very good at all. Coffee terrible. Over extracted, undrinkable. Thinking of taking it back. Lady at counter abrupt. Music I would say isn't very suited to surroundings at all. For the staff instead of the customers perhaps? Not impressed. Lovely view however and cake is decent

Unhelpful staff, terrible service. Asked for a proper cup as opposed to a plastic one for my tea only to be told they don't do them - yet I'd had to clear used teapots and cups and saucers from my table before I could sit down. No plates out to serve yourself cake and when we pointed it out we were given a stack to take over for them! It's a nice location but that's meaningless when the experience is so substandard.

The afternoon tea includes a delightful spread of pastries, sandwiches, cakes, and various teas with the option of unlimited coffee or squash. This family-run cafe within a church center is highly recommended for its excellent food cooked to order and served piping hot. Visitors praise the warm and cozy environment as well as the top-notch service provided by the friendly staff.
Popped in to this family run café within a church centre. Excellent food cooked fresh to order. My partner had the hunger buster breakfast which is insanely cheap! I had scrambled egg, mushrooms and tomaties on toast. All cooked to perfection and piping hot. Highly recommended.

If you're a chocolate enthusiast, the Cadbury World Cafe is an absolute must-visit! This delightful spot offers a unique afternoon tea experience that beautifully marries traditional elements like salmon and cream cheese sandwiches with an array of decadent Cadbury chocolate desserts. During my visit, I found it to be the perfect place to take a break from exploring. The atmosphere was vibrant and family-friendly, complete with ample seating and views overlooking the gift shop area.
Booked the afternoon tea experience for my grandaughter's birthday. We were put in a reserved area that was much warmer than the main cafe and a lot quieter. The service was brilliant, a very attentive young man who couldn't do enough to help, even when my grandson dropped a plate and it smashed. There were loads of choices of goodies to eat and drinks refills for an amazing price. I'd thoroughly recommend booking this in advance as part of the day trip. 👍🏼

Visited the Cadbury World Café during our tour and it was the perfect stop to recharge. The atmosphere is fun and family-friendly, with plenty of seating and a great view of the gift shop area. The hot chocolate was amazing—rich, creamy, and probably one of the best I've ever had. The themed desserts and cakes were just as indulgent and beautifully presented. Prices were reasonable considering it's part of a tourist attraction, and the staff were friendly and efficient even though it was busy. Definitely worth stopping by during your Cadbury World visit—don’t miss the hot chocolate!

A good range of food options for different dietary needs but overpriced.

I had a baked potato and beans. It was OK, but rather expensive and a bit dry. I'd have liked some real cutlery instead of a wooden knife and fork.
