Egyptian restaurant
Izakaya restaurant
Abou El Sid Restaurant is a popular choice for those seeking authentic Egyptian cuisine. With multiple locations in Zamalek, Maadi, and Dokki, this quality chain restaurant offers delicious koshary and other traditional dishes. While some may prefer homemade koshary at an Egyptian Aazooma, Abou El Sid provides a great dining experience with interesting variations like whole-wheat koshary.
One of the finest and oldest Egyptian restaurants in Cairo that is specialized in traditional Egyptian food. They have a diverse menu of soups, salads, starters, main dishes, barbecues, desserts, and drinks. They serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Their non-vegetarian meals come with chicken, lamb, beef, pigeon, and rabbits. Their food portions are quite filling (Egyptian food in general comes quite heavy). They accept both cash and card payment. They have indoor seating. Service is good especially when the restaurant isn’t very crowded. They have branches elsewhere in Cairo.

Hidden behind an unassuming door is this absolute gem of a restaurant. My partner and I arrived without booking and enjoyed one of the best meals we've had! The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the staff amazing. We had the stuffed pigeon and Veal about el sid style with a couple of side dishes. The meatballs were fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely visit again. Can't recommend highly enough. Many thanks to all the staff
Robin M — Google review
A true Egyptian cuisine experience in the heart of Zamalik. Food is complemented by a nice ambience and good service. Make sure to book and to check the surrounding shops. There are many great finds in the neighbourhood.
Ahmad H — Google review
The bad reviews don’t do this restaurant justice! Extensive Egyptian menu. Excellent service and an atmospheric setting. Food came out very quickly. Some of the dishes could have been hotter. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Zamalek. Booking essential.
Effie R — Google review
Delicious Egyptian cuisine and atmosphere that transports you back 100 years! I’d eaten here 3-4 times ten years ago, and just returned for dinner last week. It holds up & it great to see both local business people dining alongside tourists :) I love the meseka’a (eggplant in tomato sauce) dish!
Andrew M — Google review
Inside the old building, it feels old with the old music you feel you are in the okd days like 75 years ago, My wife went to the toilet and was disappointed with how dirty it is, and then I went to gent toilet and it was clean, so they better concentrate on the cleanliness of the women toilet I will review the foid after eating the stuffed pigeons. the kushary was huge and tasty, the musakaa was excellent the abu sid salad was great, unfortunately the stuffed pigeon was almost meatles so don't consider it as your protein, it was an excellent meal. just before leaving a nearby table, a woman started smoking a cigarette

We had two very great experiences there! Food was delicious, atmosphere great. We went there twice during our 4 days stay in Cairo. Very recommendable!

Japanese restaurant
Makino Japanese Restaurant, located in the Hilton Zamalek, is a hidden gem known among Japanese expats but not widely recognized by Egyptian locals and tourists. The restaurant's kitchen is run by Japanese chefs who serve up authentic dishes like sushi, sashimi, makimono, bento boxes, udon, and ramen. Occasionally, they also offer dishes with an Egyptian twist.
The food is great, and the service is excellent. They help you discover items you haven’t tried before. The food is very delicious, but the prices are quite high. Honestly, I will definitely come back again. The meal cost me 2,100 EGP. The service is really wonderful, and the food comes out quickly. Thank you!
AHmed A — Google review
I must say it is a very good Japanese restaurant, run by a Japanese man who suggests daily dishes and guide you on the selection with honesty. I recommend. It is inside the hilton hotel, ground floor. When entering the hotel hall, go left and walk to the corridor. You will see it on your ́left hand side.
Marco V — Google review
One of the best spots for sushi in Cairo, Sashimi was great and fresh as usual, hoso maki rolls were on point. Shrimp tempura roll was one of my favs. No options for dessert except ice cream.
Fayrouz A — Google review
I visited this restaurant for lunch because I heard that I can eat really delicious Japanese food here. It is located on the ground floor of the Marriott. I wanted to eat tonkatsu, but they didn't have any thick meat for tonkatsu that day, which was very disappointing. I ordered agedashi tofu, tempura moriawase, sushi, pork shogayaki, and soy sauce ramen, and they were really delicious. I often get disappointed when I eat sushi overseas, but this place was different. And above all, the pork shogayaki was especially delicious. The total cost was about 2,500 EGP. This is a very satisfying restaurant. If you want to eat really delicious Japanese food in Egypt, you should definitely go here. I'm a Japanese person, so I can say this for sure. There were also staff members who could speak Japanese.
R M — Google review
Very authentic Japanese food. But the service is absolutely terrible and basic, and I would never go back. Eg. We ordered a bento box with a variety of items and it arrived missing several pieces. After we noticed, they informed us that the menu was outdated and these items were no longer included in the bento box. It took an argument to get the items/replacements added to our order.
Miriam E — Google review
absolute disgarce and disappointment ... the order at least took 1hr and the service was the worse of all. We ordered pork katshu and unagidon, pork katshu meat was jerkey and hard to chew and unagidon didn't came out due to poor service. The staff wasn't helpful at all and the rice and other dishes was low quailty. I will never ever come back to this failure. 0/10
박세은 — Google review
The restaurant locates inside Hilton, hotel. Service and environment were good. Eel was well grilled but too much sauce makes it taste salty.
Sangho K — Google review
One of the best Japanese restaurants you can find in Cairo. The Chef is Japanese and makes good sushi and other dishes too. I will definitely go there again. It’s a bit pricey but definitely worth the money. ごちそうさまでした🙂

Nestled within the luxurious Semiramis Intercontinental hotel, this restaurant has been a culinary gem for over two decades. Renowned for its vibrant flavors, Birdcage offers an exquisite menu featuring spicy lemongrass dishes and creamy coconut milk delights that are sure to satisfy your cravings. The ambiance is elegant yet inviting, making it perfect for both casual dining and special occasions.
Listen! This food is amazing. The hotel is beautiful. The restaurant is beautiful. The wait staff was great and again that food was amazing. Everyone loved their meal. It was 7 of us here on vacation from the US. I ordered the green curry with the chocolate milkshake and the fried bananas for dessert. Other people ordered the pad thai, beef, salmon and the duck.
Mari C — Google review
Vanessa and the whole staff gave more than their best to ensure the perfect experience and meal for us. The food was absolutely amazing, from appetizers to noodles that definetely stole my heart. The attention to any detail was impressive. Lots of vegetarian and gluten free options as well and fair prices. Highly recommended!!
Giorgia Z — Google review
I really like the Tom Yum soup - super tasty! The crispy fried duck was a bit overcooked and dry, and both the fried banana ice cream and banana piña colada were too sweet for my taste. Loved the hibiscus-ginger welcome drink tho, and they even refilled it for me. Atmosphere and service were great, but note that menu prices are before VAT and service charge.

Beautiful place, quiet atmosphere and the service was really great. Sayed was very nice and help us at the moment we have to choose the dishes. You must come to know this place!

The quality of the food was amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious. We had chicken and shrimp dishes as well as noodles and rice and even a soup. Everything was delicious and well presented. The service and attention of the staff was incredible. So kind and careful and doing everything to make our experience great! 100% recommended

Yum yum yum!! ✨✨ Every bite I did was plenty of explosions to my taste. On my last day in Cairo, this was heaven when I got my lunch. I am happy to had it over there. Next time I came back, this will be my first option for sure 😊 👌🏻

Great Egyptians services with the attentive staff. Thai food was one of best outside of Thailand with the local and Thai ingredients. If one is looking for an Asian fix during trip to Cairo, highly recommend visit to Bridcage.

The BIRDCAGE is located inside the Intercontinental Semiramis in Cario, Egypt. It is a lovely Thai restaurant. The restaurant is very nice. The service was top Notch by Mohamed Lesayed, and I forgot the name of the lovely young lady who suggested great dishes. Mr Mohamed was attentive and helpful. He was quite nice to speak with, being that we're visiting. Our food was magnificent. The shrimped were wrapped in a delicious crunchy cage. 😋 the chicken minced salad had the perfect amount of heat. Everything we ate was good.

Maison Thomas in Zamalek, Cairo has been a go-to spot for delicious pizza since 1912. This renowned restaurant offers a variety of thin-crust pizzas, including favorites like funghi, pastrami, four-cheese, and the beloved Margherita. What sets Maison Thomas apart is its blend of Italian and American pizza with an Egyptian twist, resulting in a unique and unforgettable flavor experience.
The best everrrrrr... This is better than the pizza i got in Italy! ...some of the best pasta plates I have ever tasted...I have only tried the Zamalek branch for the past 24 years ...I don't think I will try other branches honestly ...original is usually the best ...
Karim A — Google review
I must admit, I had high expectations for this pizza place, but it fell short of my expectations. The pizza was bland and the crust was thick and unappealing. It was a complete disappointment. On the bright side, the service was excellent. The waiter, with white hair and a thoughtful demeanor, took care of everything except for the pizza. The lasagna was okay, but not as good as the pasta at the nearby O’s. The salad was average, with a small portion and a high price. Despite these shortcomings, there’s still a chance I’ll visit again.
夏召汉 — Google review
One of the best pizzas in Egypt. To be honest the toppings are much better than the dough. But overall the food is tasty. The personnel are very gentle and welcoming. For sure, a place that I certainly would like to come over again with pleasure.
Samir C — Google review
Found this beautiful quaint little place today. Founded in 1922 with art deco lights. Plenty of vegetarian options. Ordered the Capriossca pizza (my first ever pizza with boiled egg!) and Margherita and cheese garlic bread. Simple, flavorful but delicious. Friendly service and quite popular with the locals. Their molten chocolate cake was also nice Open 24hrs for delivery. Shut only from 2am to 5am! Definitely a place to visit again.
Karthik M — Google review
The food was amazing delicious and special. I really recommended for anyone loved pizza or pasta.
Saeed A — Google review
The food is delicious, but there are definitely better pizzas and pastas elsewhere. The pizza crust is very, very thin. The price is overpriced; you can eat much more elsewhere for less. It's only good to try once, no more. The place is cramped, and sometimes sitting with a moderate number of people is uncomfortable.
WA'EL M — Google review
I loved the place and its vibe. The staff is friendly and your order comes fast. The pizza is amazing! I’m not a pizza loving person. But this vegetarian pizza made me fall in love with it. It was filled with toppings and the dough is thin so I can enjoy the toppings even more! I also liked the alfredo pizza, but vegetarian is my favorite. Highly recommend if you like veggies! You can also add cheese to it. The prices are very affordable and they include tax(not service). And by the way, don’t order garlic bread you’ll be disappointed. Focus on the delicious pizza!
Nada M — Google review
April 2024: been here more than 10 years ago.quality has changed for the worse. It was the best quality cheese and soft thin Napolitano dough. This is a product place, it should reflect on quality of ingredients. We got 2 medium pizzas. The dough is thin and dry, gauging from -my pizza making days-I think this is a ready-made dough. It was dry and not tasty. The cheese quality is best there is in this high cost market but it is not like before. The tomato sauce is not represented in the taste group of the pizza. The 3 stars are for the dry dough and for that the place has no bathroom 😲 . I'm sure it was not possible to put one for whatever reason, but it is not acceptable to have a sit-down restaurant without a bathroom.

Yeah, nah - don’t bother. There are far too many restaurants in Cairo offering better food and service. It’s a definite NO ‼️ That arancini was literally burnt.
Gavin R — Google review
Came in at 11:15am, food arrived at around 12. Two staff members. 3 other tables were occupied. I went up to ask for the menu, then later asked for his attention to take our order. Ordered the lemon curd pancake, shakshuka eggs, and matcha latte. They didn't have matcha. I walked up to the counter multiple times since they didn't seem to pay much attention to our table. Pros: location and atmosphere. The place is clean, well decorated with large windows. Cons: serving time and food delivery took about an hour. The eggs were undercooked, the pancakes were dry, and the toast was stale and hard as a rock. We asked to exchange it. He brought another 2 pieces that were rotten (green spots/mold was visible). He brought another piece of bread to make it up, but by then we were done with the experience. We left. I went up to the counter and asked to charge me only for the water. They charge 29 Egyptian pounds for a small bottle of water. One of the worst experiences I have ever had in a supposedly upscale restaurant! Will never step foot in there again. It's so sad that it has such great potential, but is left to the hands of employees who don't care much to see it succeed!
Eman K — Google review
We went there a little bit late but noone was there in the cafe, we sat down either way. Nothing was tasting great, specialy the ravioli was so bad, it was cold and just minty. The pastas were better. The vegetable sandwich or calzone, it was so bland. Maybe you can have pasta...

Went for lunch there, surprisingly quiet but overall a decent place for lunch. The restaurant felt a bit dated but the food was nice. The waiters were helpful as well.

Tasty food, with decent prices and good ambience. Went when there was not much crowd and the service is good. There are several vegan options (we ordered the vegan risotto, vegan spaghetti with "meatballs" and tomato soup) in the menu, most of which are clearly labelled. Payment with card is allowed. Only downside is there is no aircon but luckily it was not too hot outside today

Mori Sushi - Al Gabalayah has been a trailblazer in Egypt's sushi landscape since its inception in 2006, quickly establishing itself as a leader with thirteen locations, including seasonal and grill menu options. This vibrant eatery brings a fresh twist to Japanese cuisine, combining international standards with innovative dining experiences. Its been several time that we come and we are never disappointed. The bonbon is a super appetiser. The salmon poke bowl is always delicious and the combos are very appealing. I have been always a loyal customer to Mori Sushi, but it's been a while since I last tried it and I never been to this particular branch before. I got the 40 pieces menu which you had a bunch of rolls to choose from. The price of this menu is very decent, hence it's popularity. To be honest, I left disappointed, the quality of the fish definitely deteriorated over the years, and most of the fried rolls just kind of tasted the same really. You couldn't tell what were they made of. I can't say anymore than Mori Sushi is my favorite, especially with so much competition with other restaurants.
Loay — Google review
Worst ramen i've ever tasted in my life, the noodles tastes like egyptian boiled maccaroni, and the soup is just tastless water. Seriously regreted every pound🤢. Sushi is not bad, better than other mediocre places.but i'd rather put a little more money and spend it on a real sushi experience.
Yara S — Google review
Cozy little place with a huge waiting list in rush hours. Comfortable setting with good hygiene. I love the new plates, bright colour showing off the great colours of the roll, it might take a while to prepare your order but trust me the quality worth the waiting. Go on mondays and Tuesdays for more mori sushi menu with better prices yet not so limited options.

Le Pacha 1901 is a renowned dining complex located in the prestigious Le Pacha complex in Zamalek. It offers a variety of upscale dining experiences set aboard a floating boat on the Nile, providing stunning views and an elegant setting.
Piccolo mondo , you get in and find some italian decorations and names of people carved on the walls all around you , you get seated by helpful staff (but you need to have a reservation) , the menu has a wide selection of drinks and Italian cuisine dishes. I ordered seafood pasta and salmon fettuccine and both were very tasty , the best thing about this place is the view by the nile which makes the whole experience blends in together nicely. If you want a break from the city lights this place is highly recommended .
John S — Google review
Piccolo Mondo, nestled in the basement of Le Pasha boat, offers a cozy setting with pseudo "Italian specialties". The ambiance is charming and the service is decent, making it a pleasant spot for a casual meal. The food itself is middle-of-the-road — nothing extraordinary but passable. The biggest letdown was the bread buns, which tasted like they were defrosted in the microwave and lacked freshness. Overall, it's an acceptable choice if you're not seeking culinary perfection but just a relaxed meal by the Nile.
Marwan R — Google review
What a great place! We kicked off our Egypt holiday here and finished it here because Carlo Le Pacha 1901 does everything we wanted. Good beer? Check. Tasty cocktails? Check. Excellent food (both Egyptian and other choices)? Check. The real winner for us was the combination of all that with a solid shisha/hookah menu and live sports on TV. It's the complete package you struggle to find elsewhere. The vibe is upscale but comfortable. We'll be back on our next trip for sure!

Le Pacha is an absolute gem in Cairo! The food was delicious — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, perfect for a memorable evening. But what really made the experience unforgettable was the stunning view of the Nile! This place is a must-try. Highly recommended!

Amir was a great host. We had so much fun. The food was great. Drinks are beyond amazing. Great vibes all around.

Le Pacha was definitely a great experience in Cairo! The staff was very helpful and friendly, the food amazing and the environment very well organised. The portions were big and fulfilling, and the flavours incredible. Try out the Steak with roquefort sauce, it is a wonderful dish, accompanied with excellent fries! Also, do not forget to take a look around and visit the terrace, as the view of the Nile is beautiful. Keep in mind there is a big staircase to reach the restaurant with no ramps, so it's not for people with reduced mobility.

Disappointing experience. Le Pacha group is recognized for upscale dining, specialy, Carlos. However, piccolo mondo was a disappointment. In a basic Italian themed restaurant, you are served high quality EVOO and a fine balsamic vinegar, paired with good quality bread, while waiting for the meal. That was not provided until we asked for it. We received a bowl of stale olive oil, and low quality balsamic vinegar. Compared to other lower caliber Italian themed restaurants in heliopolis, piccolo mondo failed. Pizza ingredients were good, the expected quality, but the dough was more of chewy bread. In the end, that was not the anticipated quality while dining in le pacha

Better make a reservation. It was a very pleasant experience with loads of Italian vibes. As if you are sitting inside an old pizzeria in Italy. The menu is varied and the quality of the food is worth the price. We enjoyed a selection of Italian salads, Salami pizza, and Penne Le Pacha. We were quite full and we had no room for dessert after this delicious load of carbs. You get to enjoy a very nice and close view of the Nile since it is located in the bottom floor of the boat. Fit for a date and a casual dining experience.

Teppanyaki restaurant
Sapporo Japanese Restaurant is a chic culinary haven in Cairo, where the essence of Japanese cuisine comes alive. This stylish spot specializes in an array of delectable sushi and other traditional dishes, complemented by a selection of refreshing cocktails and fine wines. Guests rave about the warm hospitality from Chef Komatsu and his team, who are eager to recommend their favorites. The ambiance is inviting, making it perfect for both intimate dinners or lively gatherings.
Great sushi and good quality ingredients. Suitable for private events, business drivers, dates and friendly gatherings. We went in Ramadan so it wasn't super crowded, and didn't require reservations. I would think it would on normal days. Pricy but good quality foods. Lemon grass Brule is a hit or miss, but they do make their own ice cream.

A Truly Authentic Japanese Culinary Experience this might just be the best sushi I've ever had. Every piece was fresh, expertly prepared, and bursting with flavor. If you're a lover of authentic Japanese cuisine or just looking for a peaceful, high-quality dining experience, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended

We had a nice dinner at Sapporro. The fried chicken was really tasty – crispy and flavourful – but it could’ve used a dipping sauce to take it to the next level. The sushi was okay, fresh enough, but not the best I’ve had. That said, the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, and the service was warm and attentive throughout. We also enjoyed a lovely bottle of Egyptian Chardonnay, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, a good experience with a few small areas for improvement.

We had Teppanyaki at Sapporo. It offers a chill vibe with electronic music softly playing in the background. The food was very decent, the portion was good and not oversized. We had beef and chicken set menu for E£1000 per person. The shrimp tempura was very well made too. I would prefer the skin of the gyoza thinner but the filling tasted good. Our waiter Abdel-Rahman was attentive and wanted to make sure we had a great experience.

High-end sushi experience. Flawless atmosphere, and Abdul Rahman provided an exceptional service throughout. Will visit again.

Very nice, serene restaurant with some of everything Japanese. Excellent service of our waiter AbdelRahman, who was prompt, courteous, and never left us waiting for anything - almost read our minds. We had two good sushi rolls (the crispy tempura roll was particularly good), gyoza and a big bowl of their specialty Ramen noodle soup, which he kindly split for us without even having to ask! All in all a great choice for dinner even though we initially had some doubts about eating Japanese food in Egypt!

Seafood restaurant
Pasta shop
Pomodoro is a popular restaurant in Downtown Cairo that has gained a loyal following among locals and expats. Despite its unassuming appearance, this no-frills eatery is known for its specialty: seafood pasta. The menu mainly revolves around this dish, making it a go-to spot for seafood pasta enthusiasts. While not the most upscale or traditional pasta joint, Pomodoro impresses with its flavorful offerings, generously loaded with an abundance of seafood.
Very recommended Restaurant The house salad was fresh and flavorful, and the pasta was superb—authentic Italian style. The clams were especially tasty and delicious. Prices are very reasonable, and the portion sizes are generous. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, will come back again for sure.

Very good restaurant with great Italian pasta cooked by the shrimp sauce. 😍 I liked the dish with 300 LE, enough portion and very delicious shrimps I have ever tasted in Egypt. 😋 #italianfood #shrimppasta #delicious #foodie
Ahmed K — Google review
This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had during my travels. I visited Pomodoro because of recommendations, but it turned out to be a major disappointment. First of all, the prices were unreasonably high — even more expensive than some fine dining seafood restaurants located inside clean and modern malls. Yet the restaurant itself was quite small and not particularly clean. We ordered the largest portion of their mixed seafood pasta. The platter we received included shrimp, some shellfish, and two very small crabs — each barely the size of a tablespoon. One of them had no meat at all, completely hollow, which likely means it had been dead for a long time before cooking. The other crab had a small amount of meat, but the taste was not fresh at all. Meanwhile, the table next to us (local customers) ordered what seemed to be the same mixed platter and received much larger crabs — one of their crab claws was bigger than our entire crab. We called the owner to ask about this, and he pointed to the empty shell and said, “That’s the meat.” We didn’t argue further because we were in a rush, but we left hungry and ended up buying fried chicken elsewhere to actually eat. If you’re not a local Arabic speaker, I strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant. From pricing to portion size, it felt like clear discrimination between tourists and locals.
Yomi — Google review
The best specialist shrimp and pasta in Egypt, the oldest one that offering that kind of delicious food, with some of muscles and calamari, and gandofli. Price are good, location is great, staff are perfect, the owner is smiley and helpful, the salad and pickles are tasty, I like it so much and tired it many times
Dr. O — Google review
It's a very simple seafood 🐟 restaurant without any complications. You just sit down and make your order from 3 main dishes, 1- Shrimp 🦐 or 2- Seafood (Shrimp 🦐, Crab 🦀 , Squid 🐙 , Oyster) 3- Lobster 🦞 In addition to Fettuccine Pasta 🍝 The waiters are nice and they really know what they're doing. It's a very good experience 🙂 Note: they don't accept credit cards Update: We visited it today and the food quality was not the best, the Shrimps 🦐🍤 was not cleaned and was somewhat not okay. There wasn't any of the menu items available except the shrimp and the clams. The place was also very busy and we waited a long time to get in.
Ahmad N — Google review
Limited menu but they have perfected their dishes. We ordered a shrimp spaghetti and mixed seafood spaghetti. We highly enjoyed our dinner and will return. Price was very reasonable.
Gilda Y — Google review
Their pasta is really yummy.. I recommend ordering tgh shrimp pasta not the seafood as it was full of empty mussels. Honestly, I think renovating the place would make it a much better experience.

Thai restaurant
Nestled within the somewhat unkempt Metro Market building in Zamalek, Sabai Sabai is a hidden gem that offers an authentic taste of Thailand. Owned by a dynamic Egyptian-Thai couple, this restaurant may not boast the most glamorous surroundings, but it more than compensates with its vibrant flavors and generous portions. The atmosphere has a quirky charm that adds to its character, making it feel like a cozy escape into Far Eastern cuisine.
Came for lunch around 2pm. Service was great. English is spoken here so easy communication. Food came out perfectly with robust flavors and great presentation. The Sum Tum Thai (papaya salad) had a wonderful citrus tang and plentiful peanuts. Just the perfect sweet/sour and crunch to excite the taste buds. The Pad Krapow Neua (stir-fried beef with basil) was perfectly tender and had a wonderful mix of hot and sweet peppers along with the basil. 10/10 for the food.
Stefan B — Google review
A Thai restaurant located on the second floor of the building. It really captures the authentic taste of Bangkok. The morning glory could use a bit less water, but the som tam was excellent. The fried rice used crab stick instead of real crab, which wasn’t as good as expected, so next time I’ll probably go for the shrimp fried rice instead. The stir-fried noodles with shrimp were absolutely the best. Overall, it was much better than the Citystars branch.
Sangho K — Google review
We had a lovely, authentic lunch experience at sabai sabai ! I took my asian friend here for yummy asian food and it was a hit. We tried the beef stir fry and the duck curry accompanied with the pineapple fried rice. The portions were great and we would definitely come back to try other things on the menu 🥰

This place has been always one of my favourite spots in Zamalek , whenever I crave Thai food Sabai Sabai is always the place to go. Also the staff there are always great and welcoming however the place this time was full of flies and the AC wasn’t working at all As for the food the papaya salad lacked that strong acid flavour but it was not bad the fried fish was yummy but again the flavours were very mild but over all it’s a good meal and I wouldn’t mind going back agin

Its a completely hidden asian restaurant above closed papa jones. Getting to it is a bit tricky on the first floor but easily reachable. Food overall was good specially the Pud Thai and they have good green curry, mango sticky rice. My disappointment was the cleanliness of the food as i found a hair in my dish. Also in this heat the place is too hot and ac is not very effective.

Really good Thai food in Zamalek!! If you're looking for good Thai food, definitely recommend to go here. It is pretty hidden in a building and it's a bit difficult to find, you might even be shocked at the building conditions when you're walking up to it as it looks pretty run down but inside the restaurant it is very much fine! We ordered the satay as our appetizer and this had a delicious grilled taste to it. For our mains we got shrimp fried rice (our favorite!), sweet and sour chicken, pad thai and cashew chicken. They all tasted amazing and freshly made (they are also safe options if you're not familiar to Thai food yet). Definitely recommend getting the Thai milk tea as well because it tasted so authentic 😋. As dessert we got the mango sticky rice of course (delicious but the mango was bit sour to my liking). Service was amazing and they are very kind. We were the only customers at around 8PM on a Sunday so not sure how busy it can get sometimes.

Korean barbecue restaurant
Hana Barbecue is a Korean restaurant known for its barbecue, but it also offers an impressive selection of noodles, including fried noodles, silvered noodles, and spicy cold noodles. The diverse menu and friendly owner create a welcoming atmosphere. The food is flavorful and the portions are satisfying, with plenty of vegetarian options available. While service can be slow during peak hours, the delicious Korean pancake and fried rice make it worth the wait.
IF YOU DIDN’T GO HERE, YOU HAVE TO! My favorite Korean Restaurant in Cairo and I barely have any photos to show for it because we devour the food every time 😭 The food here speaks for itself, it just is the most comforting, warm hug of a meal you can have. The food is always seasoned perfectly, and always tastes incredible. The portion sizes are very good too (we order one kimchi soup for two people and we’re absolutely stuffed). It is an incredible culinary experience that I always keep coming back to. What we order here: - KIMCHI SOUP: so spicy, and comforting with deliciously seasoned tofu, beef, glass noodles and of course, kimchi. So deliciously spicy and silky smooth. It’s served with rice, and I crave this soup everyday. 10000/10 - Complimentary Korean side dishes: every single dish tastes SO good, from the kimchi, to the potatoes, seaweed and even zucchini and eggplants.. everything tastes so good and fresh every time, and every time we went we got new side dishes. 10000/10 - Tteokkbokki: so deliciously spicy and perfectly chewy and the sauce is just so rich and creamy and I’m just salivating typing this! 10000/10 - Kimchi fried rice: it was very good, I liked it, but I had better fried rice (it was a little soggy so the texture threw me off), but the flavors were 100% there! 8/10 - Sweet and sour chicken: it was good sweet and sour chicken, but I’ve been there multiple times after and never felt the need to order it again. Good to try, but I don’t go out of my way to order it, they just have MUCH better food 7/10 - Spring rolls: they were okay, nothing stands out to me about them. You get four pieces, and they’re quite small. 6/10 for the portion size specifically. Overall, you come here for the food. The food is absolutely incredible and I cannot recommend the Kimchi soup and tteokkbokki enough!!! The staff is always incredibly welcoming to us every time we go, and the atmosphere is very authentic Korean restaurant style. I highly recommend you come here if you enjoy Korean food!
Emmy — Google review
For atmosphere- the place was beautifully decorated and had the Eastern vibe down perfectly. The only points off for me were because it felt stuffy and hot to sit in there, as well as not smelling the best. For food: It doesn't get any more authentic than this! But bear in mind, Korean & Eastern food can be an acquired taste. I wasn't particularly impressed with a lot of the dishes I tried here, but I can definitely recommend a couple of things: 1- The beef bulgogi: the classic korean bbq experience, flavorful with every bite. Great marinade & amazingly tender beef. 2- The tteok-bokki: If you generally like the spicy samyang noodles, you will love these! Same exact flavor but with a little bit of a chew. 3- The appetizers that come in at the start are lovely. Avoid at all costs: Kimchi fried rice. This dish single-handedly dropped my rating from a 5 to a 4. Hit or miss: Bibimbap!
Mohamed S — Google review
This was my first time there, I enjoyed everything. The place, the service and definitely the food. It was all amazing! Only fried dumplings weren’t up to my expectations. But kimbap was AMAZING! As it should be. I would go again.
Maha S — Google review
As a years-long patron of this restaurant, I'm really saddened to see the steep decline in quality. This was the second time in one month where I received these dry, leftover shredded cuts as supposedly premium, medium rare "beef bulgogi." Tonight I had to wait over for 40 minutes for this dish, although there were only a few tables occupied and three servers. You used to be able to grill these cuts at your own table, now they insist on making it themselves in the kitchen. This restaurant used to be great, one of Cairo's evergreen dinner locales, but now you get less than the bare minimum.
Alex S — Google review
My first experience with the Korean food .. And I like it .. the most I liked 1. Kimbap looks like sushi rolls 😋😋😋 2.Tteokpoki it is rice cake with special sauce little spicy but lovely 😍 😋😋😋 3. Kimchi salad cabbage spicy side dish 😋😋😋 4.Dumblings 😋😋 5. Vegetables noodles 🍜 6. Cucumber salad spicy (oi muchim) side dish😋😋😋 7. Korean baby potatoes and sweet side dish 8. Watercress salad spicy side dish 9.korean spinach side dish I don't like but my friend like it 10.green beans side dish The side dishes were 6 small and was free 🥰😍😋 I think I would love to go again
Joséphine F — Google review
One of my first choices whenever i go to Zamalek. It doesn't serve only noodles, fried rice and spicy food as you think. It serves many varieties of traditional korean food. The taste is very good. Most of the dishes aren't so spicy that you can't taste anything else that's why I like this place. The prices are reasonable and the place is comfortable specially because the waiters and owner are friendly. I just keep coming back to their restaurant because I miss the taste of their food. I love this place.

Mr. Wok is a popular spot in Zamalek known for its delicious Asian cuisine, particularly Chinese food. The restaurant offers a variety of noodles such as udon, longevity, and soba, along with options like pasta and rice dishes featuring beef and chicken prepared in hot, normal, or super spicy styles. While the restaurant's small size may lead to limited seating options at times, the authentic taste of their freshly made dishes makes it worth a visit. Additionally, Mr.

The waiters and chef very good but unfortunately the taste not good. I asian and it not like asian taste. If you go to asians real resto, more delicious. I give 3/10 to sweet sour noodle chicken and 5/10 to seafood noodle.
Siti J — Google review
Mr Wok is a popular chain for Asian-inspired fast food, and it’s a great option if you’re craving something tasty, quick, and affordable. The menu offers a wide selection of stir-fried noodles, rice dishes, and different protein choices like chicken, beef, shrimp, or vegetarian options. One of the best parts is that you can customize your order — choosing your base, sauce, and toppings — so every meal feels fresh and tailored to your taste. The food is consistently flavorful, portions are generous, and everything is usually served hot and freshly prepared. The sauces are rich and authentic, especially the sweet chili and teriyaki. For a fast-food chain, the quality is impressive. The restaurants are clean and casual, with a simple modern design that makes it easy to dine in, but they’re also very convenient for takeaway or delivery. Service is usually quick and efficient, even during busy hours. Prices are reasonable compared to other Asian food chains, and the value for money is very good considering the portion size and taste. Overall, Mr Wok is a reliable choice if you want quick, satisfying Asian cuisine without spending too much time or money. Perfect for lunch breaks, casual dinners, or grabbing something tasty on the go.
Attia A — Google review
The service is quick. That's all what is positive. The food is not tasty, not comparable with real Asian food. The ingredients are not fresh, were taken out of a can. The food is totally overpriced, not only for Egypt, even for Asia or Europe. At least the place. Usually it's crowded, you only can sit outside on the predestrian walk. It's extremely noisy due to the crazy traffic in Cairo and it's dirty, air polluted. Not relaxable.

I tried this place twice and it’s super super nice located in Talaat Harb mall in the basement. The servers are extremely nice and helpful and the food didn’t take much time to come out. The place is in the basement floor of the mall. I ordered beef noodles. The taste of the beef isnt the best but the noodles and veggies went along well. The amount of beef included in the meal was little tbh. I think they are cutting costs. The portion is fair for what you pay for. The place is clean but the decorations are outdated and need some work. I would recommend going there if you are looking for Chinese food.

The Chinese Muslim Restaurant, located in Abbaseya, is a cozy little eatery owned by a friendly Chinese couple. Despite its small seating area, the restaurant offers authentic and delicious Chinese cuisine. The chicken fried noodles are particularly noteworthy for their generous portion size and flavorful mix of vegetables. We came here by chance as another shop was closed. Seating is very tight inside but outside there’s some seating. Food portions was very generous. Freshly pulled noodle. It was nice but every dish was too salty and I found the amount of meat or chicken in the food was very little. Maybe due to it being a day after Eid, service was very slow. The food came 1 1/2 hours later and even that was staggered. Someone who comes regular did mention normally it’s quicker.

A very lowkey chinese restaurant, their main seating area is small so you might be seated outside. The staff is friendly too which is a plus. As for the food, I ordered the chicken fried noodles and the dumplings. The noodles was great, huge portion and full of flavours and veggies. As for the dumplings, the wrapping was so thick and the filling was so little, I personally didn't like it, the filling did taste good though.

It is worth noting that the prices at Peking Gezira club are less than any other branch. Something to enjoy too! Oh and the views from the outside terrace is very green. Which is rare to find in Cairo.

I love Peking restaurant chain, the nostalgia I get from eating there reminds me when my parents used to take me out with most of my cousins. Not only it is a nice nostalgia I do believe it is the only restaurant in Egypt that has evolved , improved and still serving quality food from my childhood. I do recommend Shandon & spring rolls as starters And sizzling chicken, oyster dishes and five spices, I dont like their meat as it sticky, so I usually order chicken or shrimps. I also recommend their signature fried banana for dessert. I avoid Chinese soups as it is different then my taste.

Needs an Asian chef to make it more authentic. Was a good try for Egypt.
David F — Google review
The food is very amazing the service is very slow and the atmosphere is very loud there are 2 kids sitting all the way at the back and they are very loud please tell them to stop
Momo S — Google review
Very nice food and great service... no matter what your main course is, I strongly advise starting by the vegetable spring rolls... make sure there are enough sauces with it -- sweet and sour, and soy
Sherif I — Google review
I love the spicy appetizer Chandong. Soup wasn’t tasty. Chicken with barbecue sauce was good but always need to have extra sauce. Fried Rice with vegetables was as usual. My friend took the duck plate but he didn’t like it.

With its diverse menu and focus on quality ingredients, Manchow Wok stands out as a go-to spot in the noodle scene!
Very bad quality, food is cold , staff are rude, not clean . There was insects as an extra addition from the restaurant.
Mohamed S — Google review
Food quality was so bad!!! Never ate something like that in my whole life! Most of the menu items were not available and the available items were so bad... the noodles was cold and not fresh though we waited too long as we have been told “ it’s coming out now” several times! I ordered Schezwan chicken and it was nothing like Schezwan, basically it was chicken with catchup and some veggies and the meat was tasteless! The only good thing was the only spring roll I had! Very very bad experience and I wouldn’t recommend this place to any one!
Hagar A — Google review
Very bad quality, too much salt , food is cold , cashier don't know system or menu , ugly food presentation, If this the last restaurant to eat, i won't do it.

Well , this is the nearest Chinese food I can get from where I am staying .....I had the beef combo noodles ....it taste far from Chinese cooking .....more like Arabic food .
Joseph D — Google review
One of the worst food experiences...you get very little amount of beef and chicken... All what you get is vegetables.... Disappointed
