Cake Cafe, a beloved spot in Cairo, has expanded to multiple branches across the city since its humble beginnings in Zamalek in 2013. This cozy cafe is a favorite among locals for its sweet treats and personalized service. While it's best known for its delicious cakes, Cake Cafe also offers a compact yet delectable menu featuring breakfast and lunch options, sandwiches, fresh juices, and hot drinks.
Well, in the beginning, it's not my first time there, but it's my private one. I have ordered macchiato and honey cake, and actually, i went there for studying, so i looked for cozy and quiet place with a good view.
Absolutely, i have found it on their second floor.
Macchiato was very optimal and has a good taste in addition to the high quality of its ingredients. You can taste their quailty easily from your first sip.
Although i'm not a honey cake's lover, i found it great!. Thus, i think it will be my cup of tea there if i go again.
Finally, they have 3 parts. The outdoor's one, and it's the best for chilling out with your friends, especially if you are a smoker.
The first floor indoor, i don't like this area because it's very close to their kitchen and the cashier.
The third one and my favorite one. The second floor. It forms a long sofa and 4 tables. In addition to high bar table. Moreover, they also have one isolated table with two chairs.
They were great, and i'm happy with this experience, i'm going to go there again to brush up my attention.

This place is soo nice, the stuff is friendly the food, the coffee, and the drinks were all good I highly recommend this place.
It was very nice and had a very nice sandwiches I defo reckon the chocolate cake. The only problem was that the music was a bit weird
We had a great savoury breakfast with coffee from portafilter machine and finished with home made carrot cake and Lotus cheesecake. Ahmedsaad, our waiter, was absolutely lovely and very attentive. Absolutely recommend
Three milk cake is the perfect cake every the stuff is over friendly, the indoor setting not to big the average size in Zamalik coffee shops. Perfect for coffee and talks , working and studying no music in background I love it
I wanted something on the lighter side so I chose the Tiramisu cake which was nice. It was definitely tasty rendition of the dessert but it didn't taste very coffee-y.
My pet peeve was honestly the cappuccino I ordered in the paper cup which was already so small but the cup came half full of just foam so I'd recommend sticking with the glass cups because the people across seemed to have a normal amount of coffee, unlike mine.
The upstairs seating area is comfortable but could get stuffy quickly eventhough there was a really good AC.
We paid 220 which felt like a bit much.
I thought going to a specialty cake place would mean top notch cakes. But that's the thing: a. This isnt a specialty cake place cuz they surve a lot of other things, and b. Not all of their cakes are top notch. We had a carrot cake which was 4/5 so acceptable, and an apple cinnamon cake which was 2/5 at best: the cake kept crumbling as soon as my fork touched it, my guess is it wasn't fresh, and the sauce was watery with zero consistency. Not to mention how thin my slice was compared to the carrot cake slice i was so jealouse! Only good thing about it was the cinnamon infused apples on top.
Atmosphere was okayish but not my personal fav because it was crowded and at times i couldnt hear my friend talk!

A lovely place for coffee in the heart of the market after a walk.
This café has a long history and tradition—you truly feel the local culture 100%.
The coffee was quite good.
The only downside is the constant street vendors, who can be very persistent.
At one point, a musician expected to be paid just for playing on his own, but the café staff intervened and resolved the issue.

The atmosphere was great! We went there in the night after dinner for some local beverage. Unfortunately couldn’t try the famous coffee instead local tea we had as it was late in the night. There was live music and service was good. Staff were very friendly. Definitely you should visit this place if you are in Khan El Khalili
I recently visited Fishawy Cafe in Khan El Khalili, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. Right when I arrived, I noticed that some people sat down at my table and started singing. At first, I thought they were part of the cafe staff, but it turned out they were just customers like me.
When I asked for the menu, they told me there was no printed menu available. This made it hard for me to know what food or drinks I could order.
At the end of my visit, I was surprised to find out that I had to pay a large amount of money because one of the singers decided how much I should pay. To make things worse, these singers then asked for money for their performance. They didn’t mention this when they first started singing, which felt quite unfair.
Additionally, the noise from street vendors outside made it really hard to enjoy my drink. They were so loud that I couldn’t relax or focus on my time at the cafe.
I do not recommend visiting Fishawy Cafe. You might end up feeling scammed, and it’s unlikely you will have a good time there.
What a vibe. Food is amazing too. Must visit when in this neighbourhood for a quick bite and a break from the shopping spree. We tried their Falafel and beans sandwich and they were amazing.
I’ve been there twice, and it’s a nice place to enjoy a classic aesthetic. However, they don’t have a menu or fixed prices, so you might get charged differently each time. Also, avoid talking to anyone who tries to approach you. If you don’t see staff wearing the brand’s red and blue logo, it’s best not to go in
Tripped over this cool cafe in the bazaar. Stopped for a coffee (Turkish coffee) only LE 65 and to refresh with water. A few customers were smoking shisha, so I had a grape one for LE 175. Comfy chairs lined along the alley facing the mob, so you get lots of hawkers, but it’s part of the fun. Didn’t eat here. Waiters have a bitnof a Parisian stiffness- they don‘t take mucking about. Very atmospheric and recommended
They insist you come in and sit down. We ordered three Cokes. When we went to pay, they didn't accept card payments and we were charged 550. There are also people who want to sing to you at your table, even if you say no, they don't stop and ask for money the whole time. Definitely a terrible experience. I don't recommend it.
I heard about this place a lot. It is the most famous Ahwa (traditional coffee shop) in Cairo. It is very historical and has been visited by many celebrities and politicians. Pictures are there. Service was great. There were 2 guys who played Oud and tambourine and sang classic Arabic songs. This was really great experience. Thank you!

Loved the place so much. Artificial decoration with a nice music in background. The food is so delicious and have good Italian cousine. Make sure to have enough cash and there is no payment in credit. Its also hard to find car parking around.
Calm, quiet environment, dimly lit with a lot of wood trimmings and plenty of art. Nat King Cole and Sinatra playing at a perfect volume in the background as to not be distracting. Antique is the perfect name.
The food is great too. The 4 of us ordered:
Foul, omelet, calamari, mixed cheese platter, falafel, tea, Turkish coffee and a cappuccino. Finished it off with pancakes and honey. They're served in great portions, but taste more like a cake than a pancake, unexpected but still delicious.

Sufi Cafe & Bookstore is a unique establishment located on the first floor of a residential building in Zamalek, Cairo. By day, it serves as a bookstore, cafe, and workspace, while at night it transforms into a live entertainment space. Additionally, visitors can check out the schedule for events at its sister yoga and meditation space called Mudra Yoga Studio on the second floor of the same building.
This place has a nice and calm ambience. Great place to work or read a book and relax. Recommend visiting this place if you are in Zamalek.
They also have restrooms for customers to use.

This is without a doubt my favorite cafe in Cairo. It has a genuinely authentic feel, is pretty low key and quiet, and the staff are very sweet and welcoming.
Loved the place, but I'm giving it 5 stars specifically because I found a Zelda's Triforce looking earrings only for E£50. 😁

Café Riche, located in Downtown Cairo, is a renowned restaurant and bar with a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1908. It has been a popular meeting place for intellectuals, revolutionaries, and prominent figures in modern Egyptian history.
This iconic placed opened in 1908 and has some attached Foreign Press Association drinking den. You can get Egyptian fare from a friendly blue-costumed waiter. Prices OK- mid-range 200-400 mains. Tasty chips. Inordered roast chicken and veg- tasty. The atmosphere is perfect if your love is 19th century timewarp cafes where you can even smoke at the table. Wunderbar!

Super friendly and accommodating staff.
The musaka is excellent and is now probably my favorite dish in Egypt although I certainly lack experience with Egyptian cuisine.
They maintained good service despite a huge group of 20 showing up without a reservation while I was there.
Definitely would recommend serving the lemon artichoke with salt and olive oil though. It drastically enhanced it. Honestly would put it on it before sending it out.

Café Riche is probably a century-old iconic café, once a gathering spot for many literati and intellectuals. We ordered three kinds of pasta and roasted chicken. The pasta was affordable and came in generous portions. -9/1/25
I don’t understand why such a wonderful, traditional café is so poorly managed. They should keep it cleaner and create a more organized atmosphere. They don’t accept cards, only cash. The waiters were friendly, but the manager or owner was not. A bottle of local Egyptian beer costs 160 pounds, which is about 3 dollars. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

This is a beautiful promenade. Perfect for warm sunny winter morning. However the service doesn't match the rest of the experience. The beer is barely cold, no draft beer available plus the service is extremely slow for unknown reasons. We had to wait almost 20 minutes for the check. This totally ruins the experience!
I'm usually very easy going and chill with places but this was genuinely one of the worst hotels I ever dined at. Ordered an all american breakfast and it was mid as hell, the eggs were overcooked, the hash browns were undercooked and the bagels are just baked dough. Everything was all over the place and the service was ridiculous. I had to ask for each little thing atleast three times, like my coffee which still hasn't arrived as I write this. If you're planning on having breakfast here, go somewhere else unless you like bland eggs and uncooked hash browns 😊
Worst Experience Ever.
As a Marriott member, never been to a hotel cafe with such poor service. Staff is unfriendly and not helpful. The quality of food is not acceptable. We ordered one creamy chicken soup and one Lasagna. Staff just gave us one set of tableware and placemat, without any confirmation with the customer. When we ask for one more set of tableware, staff is impatient and we feel uncomfortable.
As an international brand, it will be better to provide better training to staff.
The place has a gorgeous garden. It is a nice place for a lovely dinner experience with its luxory atmosfere. Foods are really delicious and the service is beyond excellent. Speacial thanks to Ayman and Mohamad! They were so helpful and smiling. Definietly recommend!!
It saddens me to leave such a review for what used to be my favourite place. Unfortunately, the experience has changed. The staff seemed overwhelmed and under pressure, which affected the level of service. The food quality was disappointing, small portions, lacking in flavour, and overall poor value for money. Even the coffee, which I used to love, was bitter. It’s truly disheartening to see this decline.
The breakfast was wonderful. Great options, and helpful staff, especially Mr Tarek and Ms Sahar. Will definitely return.
The hamburger was very good, club sandwich was average, the fries were great, service is slow.

It's classy, the staff are nice and welcoming, and the food is great, but it is pricey as it seems, with no minimum charges.
However, the atmosphere is good to finalize some work on your computer, but not that quiet for phone calls!
I ordered the frequently ordered sandwich as per the chief-(club sandwich) & it was good, orange juice, pasty dessert, and a hot latte; ended up paying 530 EGP.

Not so cozy of an environment since it's inside a hotel lobby and no Nile view. Turkish coffee came with two pieces of Turkish delight which was nice, but ended up costing 300 LE ($6??!!!) which is outrageous in a country where you can grab a coffee for 20 LE elsewhere. No problem with the service, just the price and atmosphere.
I would like to extend a special greeting to Coffee Corniche and a special thank you to the employee (Sama) for her good treatment and reception. The food was very delicious.

Known for its delicious baked goods and coffee, Holm is an ideal spot to start your day with a light cake and newspaper.
The service is always friendly, being a regular customer I always order cappuccino. It comes with a small cookie, sometimes it’s chewy & sometimes crunchy. I believe it’s usually chewy when freshly baked, this is how I prefer it. They also have some delicious desserts, like the chocolate fudge cake. The outdoors area is refreshing, the indoor area is very limited.

It was a beautiful experience. The place is a bit small but beautiful. They had 2 floors. The first floor is all tables, and the second floor is more like chill study cafe vibes, additionally they have many books that you can enjoy in addition to a space that's bed-like were you can takeoff your shoe and chill. The coffee is delicious. I had a Spanish latte, and it was a pleasant experience. The food thou is not their best. We tried different croissants, but it was a solid 6/10 given the prices we paid. Overall, the vibes are immaculate, and you can take a nice walk outside and enjoy the view. They have a toilet and free wifi too, so make sure to ask the staff if you need anything. Nice place for a date or friends meet-up or a simple solo outing🤍✨️
I went there at about 8:30am it was quiet and chill, i ordered a hot Spanish latte and it was really good. The atmosphere in the outdoor is sooo peaceful around this time too. The toilet was pretty tidy and clean.

I came here to take a meeting and have lunch. Very nice staff and cute interior. The pistachio latte was delicious and so was the potato salad. It was a little more expensive than I expected- 550 pounds for a drink and salad.. but it was yummy and cute. WiFi didn’t work, maybe too many people using it.
Very cozy spot with a nice view. I recommend it if you have some work or studying to get done, they let me stay as long as I needed. Their food and coffee are spot on and the staff is very friendly.
Nice little gem in beautiful Zamalek area … the coffee shop is situated in a nice quite street close to Gezira club … it has couple of tables outside and inside seating has an upstairs option … the decor is simple and nice … very suitable for working outside … their menu options are varied … I loved their update drink and the croissant was freshly baked and delicious … this is the place to go for a quick bite and drink in Zamalek

Nice atmosphere, good to try. It has variety of cake. It has also variety of coffee, V60 has one kind of bean.
Highly recommend this GREAT spot to grab a burst of caffeine and even took some sandwiches and a cappuccino to go! Very cool and comfy seating inside but we took in the breeze and shade of the morning and watched the street life outside! Very affordable too for the quality of items!

Both are nice and very Egyptian food.
Kofta is sausage like made with minced beef and spices. Serve together with Egyptian salad and rice
Molokhia is thick soup. Made with a plant called jute mallow, sesame and oil. Pair with chicken, rice and marinated tomato.
Zooba tastes good, but the service was slow and unorganized. There was a waiting queue and the people at the tables were also waiting. They got our order wrong twice. We didn't ask to correct it the second time. They don't provide tissues or wet wipes or eating utensils. Overall, it's good taste, cleanliness in the kitchen, which is important for the customers, not necessarily in the eating area. Would visit again, but it's overrated.
We’re hardcore foodies and this was the best food we had in all of Egypt over 3 weeks. Must go!

The waiters were traditionally dressed and super friendly, adding to the authentic vibe. There are two main areas: one for dining, which isn’t too loud, and another perfect for grabbing a drink and soaking in the music. It’s definitely a place to visit, with such a historical feel. Highly recommend!

A hidden gem in the middle of Khan El Khalili bazar. The atmosphere is very authentic and the staff adds that extra notch to really make you feel welcomed. The food is traditional Egyptian food. The service is fast and efficient. They will always try and accommodate and changes to the meal, in case there is something you do not like. In our case they replaced the rabbit for chicken and changed the green sauce to a nice traditional tomato dish. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Two staff members. 3 other tables were occupied. I went up to ask for the menu, then later asked for his attention to take our order.
Ordered the lemon curd pancake, shakshuka eggs, and matcha latte. They didn't have matcha. I walked up to the counter multiple times since they didn't seem to pay much attention to our table.
Pros: location and atmosphere. The place is clean, well decorated with large windows.
Cons: serving time and food delivery took about an hour. The eggs were undercooked, the pancakes were dry, and the toast was stale and hard as a rock. We asked to exchange it. He brought another 2 pieces that were rotten (green spots/mold was visible). He brought another piece of bread to make it up, but by then we were done with the experience.
We left. I went up to the counter and asked to charge me only for the water. They charge 29 Egyptian pounds for a small bottle of water.
One of the worst experiences I have ever had in a supposedly upscale restaurant!

60 EGP / £1/$1.20 PER 500ml BEER. They DO NOT serve food. Just beer. If you're a tourist and want a nice, safe and local way to spend a part of your evening I can't recommend this place higher. Just beware the area where you can drink beer is smoking ONLY. (You can't drink beer in the non-smoking section). As these are the rules you can choose to visit or not to visit but if you do decide to go just bear this in mind.
You will be shown to seats when you arrive which may feel jarring as you don't get a choice but as seats and tables open up you can move.
Inside are locals and tourists enjoying beer for as long or as little time as you like. The waiter is very friendly and regularly walks around carry beers and tapping on then for more rounds, just raise your finger and you'll get another beer.
When you're done, just signal to pay and he'll show you the total on a calculator. Just make sure you keep track of your beers but there are no tourist prices here.
Overall a great time and place I would gladly recommend.

We loved the down to earth reality of this local pub. Here everyone is treated equally, and kindly. You can drink beer only in the smoking area but doors are open so it is generally well aired. When you finish, the waiter comes around with beers at hand and shows you the bottle and opens it only if you hold your hand towards it or nod.
You can get food from the next door restaurant (we got aubergine, fries and falafel and they were all tasty) or chips from the buffet, or bring along a snack and it will be fine.

Ideal place to work, its like a co working space most people go their for meetings and work. Upstairs is much quieter with superb views of cozy trees, downstairs is more with noise. Waiters are always smiling at you, many seatings choices. I ordered pistachio cookie it was delicious specially its melted chocolate filling. Matcha is average. Prices are reasonable.

30 North Iconia in Zamalek falls short as a specialty coffee stop. The Kenyan siphon I ordered was clearly under-extracted, leaving the cup flat and unsatisfying. The staff lacked warmth, which made the experience less welcoming. While the outdoor seating area is pleasant, the overall atmosphere feels more about the space than the coffee or service.

At first glance it is looking nice. Then I detect that I am sitting next to Plastic trees! Then I ordered a Cheese Cake ( 180 EGP + 14% TAX).
The CHEESE CAKE hasn't a taste of CHEESE. But it has a taste of buttered cream.
The " Hot Chocolate" (110 EGP + 14% VAT) was so hot, that I have burned my throat.
They pretend to care about environment with forks out of wood. The cake is packed in plastic! The cutlery is packed in plastic as well.

Lovely view and atmosphere next to the water. Get a gorgeous view of the Ottoman mosque in the background as well. The food was fantastic definitely one of the best in Cairo. Great choice for a lazy breakfast. It’s located in Al Azhar Park, a heaven on earth. Right next to extremely-crowded Khan Al Khalili and Al Azhar Mosque, it’s a perfect spot for an exotic break.
All tastes were great, the breakfast platter doesn’t offer so much choices but whatever they serve, it’s delicious.
The place is decorated very well. It’s not a must see, but if you have time you can try.

April 2024: been here more than 10 years ago.quality has changed for the worse. It was the best quality cheese and soft thin Napolitano dough. This is a product place, it should reflect on quality of ingredients. We got 2 medium pizzas. The dough is thin and dry, gauging from -my pizza making days-I think this is a ready-made dough. It was dry and not tasty. The cheese quality is best there is in this high cost market but it is not like before. The tomato sauce is not represented in the taste group of the pizza. The 3 stars are for the dry dough and for that the place has no bathroom 😲 . I'm sure it was not possible to put one for whatever reason, but it is not acceptable to have a sit-down restaurant without a bathroom.

There is a good man there found me confused regarding a desert and offered me a compliment mini muffin to taste it and it was very delicious..

Beautiful ambient hidden gem of a place , my only complaint is that the tables are a little small , over all food rated 8.5/10 cus it can be juicier and more flavourful , chicken quesadilla crepe 8/10 cus the crepe dough can be improved , spinach pasta 9/10 because the dish is too big the chicken is kinda little , and also my taste buds got tired of the same flavour while trying to finish that dish , but it's still a 9/10 cus holy moly that's by far the best pasta I've tried , chicken Alfredo gets an 8/10 cus the pasta was a tinsy bit undercooked , classic burger 8/10 if they add more sauce it'll get a 9 , if they make the patty heavier it'll get a 10 , but also I have to add that with sandwich meals they give you some sort of condimental salad with vinaigrette dressing that tastes better than any salad I've ever tried and is in fact tastier than the classic burger itself too , Im gonna frequent this place more since it has a nicer vibe than most other places around here , it's unique and beautiful .

My family and I came to Vinny for breakfast on a quiet Friday morning. The place was pretty empty, so the staff was super attentive to us. I ordered their Special Breakfast (Shown in the pictures), and it was simply delicious. The way they presented the food, and the variety they offered was exactly what I was looking for.
I’m not a resident of Dokki, but I would definitely come here again just for how good the food is.

There was a notice at the entrance saying that Wi-Fi was available, but I couldn't use it. And there was loud music playing so it was very noisy. It was very cold, the desk was rickety, but the food and drinks were good and reasonably priced.

Be aware you will be over charged. We bought 2 kilo baklava 2 separate containers 1 kilo ( 1000 g ) each. As I arrived home and weighed them to find out there were about 900 gram each box short of 100 gram ( over 3 oz ) in each kilo of baklava. They charged us for one kilo 35 USD dollars..

This is an updated to my previous review after visiting the same branch for the second time hoping for the same delicious Kunafa, the one we got this time was a bit cold, not close to the taste of the one we ate the first time.
The place is still recommended but make sure to order Kunafa if it is fresh out of the oven otherwise it is going to be not so great.
Everything was perfect and u can taste before buying. I recommend going early because it can be out of stock after 4 pm I highly recommend it and totally worth it

Avoid this place if you are from out of town. We tried ice cream and cappuccino and had an immediate upset stomach... we suspect the milk they used was not fresh. The service was mediocre I had to chase them to get my receipt. The cakes do not look appetizing either... They look almost plastic. We ordered some Arabic sweets to go and these were unfortunately terrible too. This was a one and done type of place.

The service here is always quite friendly and prompt. They usually have an offer on so ask when you go in. Usually you'll receive a few free boxes of capsules or accessories if you buy a certain number of boxes so I generally buy a lot at once to take advantage. It's also nice that they'll make you a free drink when you pop in which is consistent with Nespresso shops globally. While the prices in EGP have skyrocketed since the float, in dollar terms they're one of the less expensive places to buy original Nespresso capsules globally.

Location is good. Crozonie chicken pesto was fresh and very good. The mixed nuts were also good though the portion is small for the price. Iced Spanish Matcha and Cinnamon Vanilla Latte were too sweet so I didn't really like them. Prices are the same as any café nowadays. The branch gets very crowded at 11 am. Staff were quick and polite.

Place has enough seatings with MANY power outlets (at least 4 per booth), BUT the problem arises when there’s a high usage of electricity/above minimal usage, then the store has to cut off all of the power outlets’ electricity - which isn’t the best situation if you need to charge your devices - ESPECIALLY when you’re working and using a mifi (that needs power) or your phone as a hotspot to your laptop.. as the store does NOT have WIFI... What really does not make sense is the lack of restrooms.. just a sanitiser hung on the wall..

Coffee was definitely the worst. Iced latte had so much milk that you can barely taste coffee. Iced Spanish latte was way too sweet and it has too much milk as well. Unfortunately I was on a very busy schedule so I couldn't stop by the cashier again to complain about this. Felfela is considered an upscale restaurant, and even the basic dishes here are of excellent quality. We all agreed that their flatbread was the best we had ever eaten, and it was here that we truly fell in love with falafel, the classic Middle Eastern delight.
We ordered:
• Foul Eskandaryany – In Egypt, foul refers to stewed fava beans, seasoned with cumin, lemon juice, and olive oil.
• Mixed Grilled Platter – A perfect combination of beef, lamb, and chicken, grilled to perfection: tender, juicy, and full of flavor.
• Grilled Pigeons – Almost every article about Egyptian cuisine recommends trying this dish, so of course we had to give it a shot. But at the end of the day, it’s still pigeon — little meat, lots of bones, somewhat tricky to eat, and the flavor was just average. I doubt even a Michelin-starred chef could make it taste amazing.
We wanted to order desserts — Om Ali and homemade yoghurt. The waiter suggested we order them after finishing the main courses. When we finally did, we waited a long time only to be told they were out. That definitely deserved a “frog face” from us.
As I mentioned earlier, both the basic dishes and the meat sauces we tried were above standard, and pairing them with the flatbread or white rice was pure enjoyment. In fact, even eating just Felfela’s flatbread or rice on their own would not disappoint.
Egyptian restaurants seem to have an unspoken rule: everything ordered at a table is served at the same time. Even if the first dish is ready, they won’t bring it out until everything is done, which means every meal involves a long wait. Another quirk is that each table must be served by a single waiter, probably because of how tips are handled. This can be quite inconvenient — if you ask another waiter for something, they will say “one moment” and then disappear, while your original waiter also mysteriously vanishes. -27/12/24

This place converted me to a falafel fan or as the Egyptians call it Ta’ameya, recipe being also a bit different and in my novice opinion the best I have tasted. It was super crunchy on the outside, bright with ground spices and soft on the inside. Perfectly spiced and packed full of flavor. The other stand out were the Veal chops. Food overall really tasty. Fit out a bit eclectic, with fish tanks, bird houses, murals and eclectic lamps. All a little dusty, mysterious and giving off just the Cairo vibes a tourist is after. Where the place falls done is Service. Friendly faces standing around, forgetting items, missing cutlery and taking forever to bring a drink.

Feels like Felfela used to be a Cairo classic… but the version I got was definitely from a parallel universe. Bread? Dry. Omelette? Cold. Baba ganoush? Tasted like it heard of aubergine once.

Final twist: they slapped VAT and service on the bill even though the menu says it’s included. When I mentioned it, I got a “your choice” smile.
In short: Felfela is now more museum of old reputation than restaurant.

Piccolo mondo , you get in and find some italian decorations and names of people carved on the walls all around you , you get seated by helpful staff (but you need to have a reservation) , the menu has a wide selection of drinks and Italian cuisine dishes. I ordered seafood pasta and salmon fettuccine and both were very tasty , the best thing about this place is the view by the nile which makes the whole experience blends in together nicely.
If you want a break from the city lights this place is highly recommended .

The real winner for us was the combination of all that with a solid shisha/hookah menu and live sports on TV. It's the complete package you struggle to find elsewhere. The vibe is upscale but comfortable. We'll be back on our next trip for sure!

However, piccolo mondo was a disappointment. In a basic Italian themed restaurant, you are served high quality EVOO and a fine balsamic vinegar, paired with good quality bread, while waiting for the meal. That was not provided until we asked for it. We received a bowl of stale olive oil, and low quality balsamic vinegar. Compared to other lower caliber Italian themed restaurants in heliopolis, piccolo mondo failed.
Pizza ingredients were good, the expected quality, but the dough was more of chewy bread.
In the end, that was not the anticipated quality while dining in le pacha
Better make a reservation. It was a very pleasant experience with loads of Italian vibes. As if you are sitting inside an old pizzeria in Italy. The menu is varied and the quality of the food is worth the price. We enjoyed a selection of Italian salads, Salami pizza, and Penne Le Pacha. We were quite full and we had no room for dessert after this delicious load of carbs. You get to enjoy a very nice and close view of the Nile since it is located in the bottom floor of the boat. Fit for a date and a casual dining experience.

It’s a fancy rooftop restaurant with a amazing view of the Nile. The ambience and service is great. We visited the place to experience their Egyptian breakfast which was beautifully served. The taste was really good and would definitely visit again. Generally for breakfast, prior reservation is not required but for dinner it’s recommend.

Whatever you decide to try on your visit, you cannot go wrong with their variety collection of delicious appetisers, Fillet oyster sauce, Chicken Schnitzel Gratin, Cajun shrimp pasta or the mouth watering dessert like their molten chocolate cake. CRAVE’s food is beyond exquisite, tasty and to die for! 10/10 Recommend! ✨

A pleasant discovery by accident and convenience, as Crave is located next to our hotel. The restaurant provided a tranquil space on public holiday where I would spend time enjoying their Shaksouka with a nice flat white. Had a very bad experience. I came in ask for a menu, “sorry we don’t have paper menus only QR code”, really don’t know why, food was too bad and price doesn’t match what we got, we were 3 people none of us ate half the portion, it’s below standard.. sorry guys I came from abroad and tried to come to the crave I remember, but this is too faraway. I really like crave and specially Zamalek branch. Their food is really good and staff are very attentive and super nice. Unfortunately the stakes are not available. They used to import the meat and was delicious but because of the financial crisis in Egypt they are no longer offering it. Their chocolate fondant is the best I had in cairo and a must to try.

After taking my order, the waiter didn’t even print out the ticket. By the time I finished all my food, the guava juice I ordered earlier still hadn’t arrived. The Japanese couple at the next table waited for almost an hour and still didn’t get their food,completely forgotten. If the staff don’t have a good memory, please just use pen and paper to jot things down 😅
🍗 Shish Taouk – The grilled chicken skewers were fragrant, flavorful, and tender. But only two small sticks, served with fries and rice (you can choose two sides).
🍝 Chicken Alfredo – Rich, creamy, and cheesy. Big portion and really tasty! 🤤 Perfect comfort food on a windy day.
🥙 Hawawshi – Crispy on the outside, packed with juicy minced beef inside. Very satisfying.
Excellent food. Nice Ambiance. Went there twice. On both occasion, they have been consistent in delivering quality service.
If they can provide a designated smoking and non smoking area for the airconditioned rooms, that would be great.

Cozy spot. Came here yesterday for a quick dinner. The Chicken Cream soup was simple, yet delicious. The Om Ali was amazing. After being disappointed at B Laban, I really wanted to find some good Om Ali before leaving Cairo and the one at Oldish did not disappoint. Our server Adham was great as well, very kind, attentive and quick, which came in handy as we were in a bit of a rush. Would definitely come back again.
I discovered Oldish Restaurant from one of the travel vlogs in Cairo I watched. I opted for the outdoor dining area on a fine November day enjoying the traditional ambiance that complemented my entire breakfast experience with the restaurant. The staff were all nice and friendly. Food is served in less than 10 minutes. I ordered shakshouka, falafel and hot chocolate. Honestly, they are all up to the standard however I prefer the same foods on small cafeterias around the area which taste better and cheaper but I have to say that the overall vibe, the professionalism of staff, the freshly soft bread, speed of service and wonderful presentation render another good mark on my memory on my visit to Cairo.
Great place to start your day in Cairo. Located in downtown, an outdoor patio has a nice ambiance and is pretty quiet. Food is good and you will def find some options if you’re looking at more European style dishes. Good service, nice people (waitress Jasmine tough me some Arabic words which was a pleasant touch), great price. Both locals and tourists come here, saw a few people working on their laptops. $8 for the food on the picture

Amazing traditional patisserie in Zamalak with excellent quality, variety, service, and prices. After trying many of the well-known competitors, I can say that Mandarine Koueider had some of the best versions of most of the desserts offered. I was also pleasantly surprised by their walnut malban, which I did not expect to find there (having only ever seen it in Ali Muhiddin Haci Bekir in Istanbul). Highly recommend loading up on boxes and boxes from Mandarine Koueider!

Hands down the best ice cream in Zamalek—maybe in all of Cairo. I tried the mesteka (fragrant, not overly sweet) and dark chocolate (deep, silky, clean finish): 10/10. Portions are generous, service is quick, and the price was 140 EGP for two scoops—worth every pound.
My number 1 to go for Basbosa in Egypt. I love to buy it Sada (no nuts) and if you can get it with fresh Eshta (fresh cream) it will be sooooo good. Eid Kaak is really good as well (my favorite is Malban) I got also malban with eshta and it was really good. You can get it wrapped really well for luggage but I prefer to carry it by hand. Highly recommended.
Sweets are very good, taste very nice 😊 i asked the price for mixed boxes, they told me 500 each I bought 4 and I end up paying more than 2500 😂😂 whatever you do in Cairo, the minute the buyers figure out that you are foreigner you are finished 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Incompetent and rude. We ordered a custom made cake, they delivered it late and it looked ugly and nothing like what we requested and the guy on the phone was very rude telling me I think it looks great and if you don’t like it give it back. He said you either pay the guy or give him the cake, such a rude response. We ended up taking the cake just because it was too late to come up with a backup plan. I wouldn’t trust batterhalf with any occasion again.
Tried the Nutella mug with caramel, not worth the price, tasted like a microwaved 5-minute cake at home. No signs of caramel.
The chocolate fudge is amazing, the cake is fresh, and the handling of the cream is amazing and very tasteful.

Café Frais is a rooftop restaurant located on top of the Novotel in Zamalek, right next to the Cairo Tower. It offers a stunning view of the Nile, Qasr el Nil Bridge, Cairo Museum, and Tahrir Square. The restaurant serves a variety of Lebanese MEZZE dishes from the Levant as well as Egyptian and international cuisine. Visitors can enjoy their time sipping coffee while taking in the beautiful views.
I stayed in Novotel on my solo trip to Cairo and went up to dear dinner three nights out of 4 simply because it was convenient, food was good and service was amazing. Views are great but I think in summer it would be lovely to sit up there. Shawarma and mango juice were amazing.

Beautiful rooftop with great potential, but the experience was mediocre.
The place looks really nice and has a great vibe, but unfortunately the overall experience didn’t live up to the expectations. The menu is extremely simple, and not in a good way. It lacked variety and creativity.
We only ordered drinks, yet it took about 30 minutes for them to arrive, even though the place was almost empty. The service was slow and not very attentive, which was disappointing.
With some improvements and better attention to detail, this rooftop could easily become a great spot. Hopefully things will get better in the future.
A unique experience. It was very hot in the Cairo summer. But sitting in the roof was nice and the food was delicious. Some of the best charcoal-grilled chicken I've tasted in Cairo.
I can't imagine how a place like this isn't famous and doesn't appear at the top of Google search results when searching for a café on the Nile. It’s one of the best places in terms of service, hospitality, and food. Everything is beyond excellent and extraordinary. Even the prices are very comparable to any café in New Cairo or any hotel. It's one of the places I've visited that has truly left an impression on me, and I hope to come back as soon as possible.

A fine restaurant on the roof of the Novotel Cairo ElBorg Hotel in downtown Cairo. What makes this place special is the breathtaking views to the Nile river and Downtown Cairo.
The menu consists of a relatively diverse list of food items such as soups, salads, starters, pizzas, pastas, steaks and barbecues, sandwiches, dessert, and drinks.
The food portions are extremely large and filling, and the food tastes well. The pricing is slightly above average, and service is great. They accept card or cash payment.
Lovely place for all kind of occasions. The view is magnificent and breathtaking specially around sunset. The food is good. Not very special but good portions. The staff were very helpful and hospital and helped me with a birthday surprise. Not my first visit and definitely won’t be the last as it’s a wonderful place
The most in professional place I have ever dealt with. I was planning my sister’s birthday and called them to make a reservation and I choose like 5 tables to reserve on of it because this is the view she would like to set on and on the phone they insists on not specifying the table and have a Nile table view which means that it could be on the other side of the restaurant but (With a view). A really bad experience and not recommended at all. And not to mention that their attitude is so rude on the calls.
Magnificent nile view, wonderful surroundings, very good and delicious food and staff is professional and helpful, and taking photos there will look very cool.
Concerning cons, Bathrooms need to more cleaner, food is a bit overpriced , and need to find a solution for the Chironomus الهاموش insects that fly around and are very annoying and may pollute the food.

Nice cafe. Hookah is good. Biggest downside is their vents are weak and you cant play board games. Otherwise staff is receptive and overall I would still go but not my favorite cafe.

Absolutely loved it! ❤️ Dining on a Lebanese restaurant boat cruising the Nile felt like a dream. Delicious food, warm and friendly service, and such a magical atmosphere with the city lights dancing on the water. Honestly, can’t find a single fault it was perfect from start to finish!
Don’t go here, tourist watch out! The view is nice but you should definitely not visit the place. Today my wife visited Cavo with her friend, after being treated badly she recorded the incident with the camera facing the ground. When the manager noticed this he ASSAULTED her, which she recorded as well. Instead of apologizing he started to falsely accuse her of cursing him when the police arrived. The recording that she took clearly shows this didn’t happen. He has no right to assault a woman and insult her dignity, what kind of man is this? And what kind of employer would hire such person as a manager.
Later at the police station the lawyer of the company is asking us to forgive him, but he doesn’t show any sign of remorse so we will handle it by the Egyptian legal system.

There’s something magical about the view, the atmosphere, and the gentle breeze by the Nile. Whether I’m having coffee, a meal, or just watching the water, it never fails to calm my soul and lift my mood. A perfect escape right in the heart of Cairo.

They have these cute grill boxes that they use to serve the grilled meats keeping it hot throughout. The lemon drink appetizer was so good we kept requesting more. The tea was so good!!! Our desert was outright sinful we couldn't even finish it.

Cairo Jazz Club is a cozy venue known for its live jazz performances by both local and international artists, creating a laid-back atmosphere. The club has become a popular spot for night-out parties in Egypt, especially after the 2011 revolution which led to the emergence of many underground bands. Despite its name, Cairo Jazz Club offers a diverse range of music genres from indie rock to hip-hop.
So we didn't have a reservation, we went there and we entered normally, we paid 300EGP per person (drink included) and everything was great. There was live music with 3 different bands, we could dance and feel free , alcohol was also served there. It was one of the best nights at Cairo

Atmosphere was decent until I got charged $45 for three minuscule shots of the cheapest Tequila in the world.
Literally the biggest ripoff I have seen in Egypt so far. That comes on top of the $8 for cover. That much money buys you a suite à the Ritz in Egypt. Avoid.
Not to mentionned the gangs doing organized racketeering for parking outside.
This place is dope — the music is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is full of energy. They do have quite a few rules to enter, which can feel a bit much at first, but once you’re inside, it’s totally worth it.
Definitely a spot you should come check out and enjoy if you’re in the area!
Lovely place, but my white ass got scammed and I paid $45 for 3 drinks by card, also gave tip on top. Anyway; probably looked liked I didn’t care, and I still don’t, had a fun evening. Still I think it’s not appropriate. But then again, a good jazz bar should be a bit shady!
Cairo Jazz Club has an electric atmosphere and great music — it’s definitely one of the liveliest spots in Cairo for a night out. The DJs and live bands bring serious energy, and the crowd is usually fun and diverse. Drinks are decent, and the space feels intimate without being too cramped.
However, one major downside to my experience was dealing with a bouncer who was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. It really put a damper on the night — it’s one thing to enforce the rules, but the attitude felt uncalled for and completely out of sync with the otherwise welcoming vibe inside.
I’d still recommend going, especially for the music, but be prepared for a mixed experience at the door.
I thbk its a cool place in cairo for hippies i mean ofc for all but i could find most hippies there which I liked. Its for sure overpriced but that ensures safety and the drinks are meh haven’t tried food. Overall cool and nice music.

Considering the immediate surrounding with noisy roads and cars. The restaurant is a nice relieve. For 1st timer it can be a little intimidating but they allow you inside to view and are polite when some tourist chose to go elsewhere.
The place has a”garden”are, a high chair area and normal dinning area. Furnishing is dated.
Service is very good! Waiters speak enough English to make good recommendations and conversations. Always coming to check if we are enjoying ourselves. All of them are very nice and took good care of us.
Food. Very decent and nice. We enjoyed it. It can be more refined but overall not bad.

If you have some weird rules then write them outside fro everyone to see and then choose to come in or not, but for u to act as if we had been drinking in ur own personal home, thats just stupid! Learn to mind ur own business! We came and drank with our own money in a public BAR. Its not ur mosque or ur mama's house and u did not pay for us, so respect personal freedoms or stay home and dont work!! 👎👎👎
There's nothing fine dining about this, well, apart from the extortionate bill.
The positives were; lamb ribs being tasty, the waiting service was good, and I got given free appetisers.
The downsides were: cold chips, dry chicken, and the service and the tax charges.
It's not a "tourist scam" as the service charge was clearly stated on the menu, although they don't highlight it to you and they leave it you to notice the text on the menu.
At this price range, there are other options that give better value for money. Therefore, I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Something between a restaurant and sisha lounge; could use an update and improve its format, quality and atmosphere. Many people are smoking cigarettes and sisha inside, not great. The waiter speaks good English but his humor is undecipherable and not professional. There are two types of additions added to the bill each over 10%, besides the tip that is asked explicitly by the waiter, to be paid in cash. My daughter became ill after eating the chicken. Price/quality is therefore poor, there are better indoor alternatives in the neighborhood.
I don't know how this place got 4 star raiting. Very bad service, heavily overpriced for what they serve. Got the worst steak ever, hell even I can cook far better myself. They had the card reader but wanted cash payment only with unnecessary service charge when there was hardly any service.

Mori Sushi - Al Gabalayah has been a trailblazer in Egypt's sushi landscape since its inception in 2006, quickly establishing itself as a leader with thirteen locations, including seasonal and grill menu options. This vibrant eatery brings a fresh twist to Japanese cuisine, combining international standards with innovative dining experiences. Guests can indulge in an array of vegetarian and vegan offerings like the Mori Vegetable Combo or Ura Maki filled with avocado and dried tomatoes.
Its been several time that we come and we are never disappointed. The bonbon is a super appetiser. The salmon poke bowl is always delicious and the combos are very appealing. We trying this new dessert ice cream cheesecake and love it. Mohamed was our waiter and he was very helpful and polite, and giving good advices. We really felt like VVIPs !

I have been always a loyal customer to Mori Sushi, but it's been a while since I last tried it and I never been to this particular branch before.
I got the 40 pieces menu which you had a bunch of rolls to choose from. The price of this menu is very decent, hence it's popularity. To be honest, I left disappointed, the quality of the fish definitely deteriorated over the years, and most of the fried rolls just kind of tasted the same really. You couldn't tell what were they made of. I can't say anymore than Mori Sushi is my favorite, especially with so much competition with other restaurants.
Worst ramen i've ever tasted in my life, the noodles tastes like egyptian boiled maccaroni, and the soup is just tastless water. Seriously regreted every pound🤢.
Sushi is not bad,better than other mediocre places.but i'd rather put a little more money and spend it on a real sushi experience.
Cozy little place with a huge waiting list in rush hours. Comfortable setting with good hygiene. I love the new plates, bright colour showing off the great colours of the roll, it might take a while to prepare your order but trust me the quality worth the waiting.
Go on mondays and Tuesdays for more mori sushi menu with better prices yet not so limited options.

Old Cairo Restaurant & Cafe is a charming neighborhood spot with a clean and inviting atmosphere. The friendly English-speaking staff and picture menu make for a welcoming experience. It's conveniently located near the Hanging Church and the Coptic area, making it an ideal stop during your explorations. The food is highly praised, with standout dishes like the Kofta meal, falafel sandwich, and traditional Koshary served with tangy tomato sauce, chili oil, and garlic coriander sauce.
Try their lentil soup, it's simply amazing. Falafel sandwiches were so yummy too. Also the koshary dish which has rice, veggies and noodles mixed with different dressings on it. Amazing place for a meal. Just do not miss.

Located near by Hanging Church, this is definitely a tourist favored eatery. Due to its visitors being tourists, the prices are quite high. I tried Koshari an Egyptian food and it tasted very good. I loved the service of the restaurateur staff. They have all varieties of food ranging from Pizza, sandwiches and local Egyptian food. Removing 1 star for the over priced food. Overall, a nice place to grab lunch or coffee while touring the hanging church.
Located just minutes walk to the churches in old Cairo, the food is nice and wasn't as busy when we came around 2pm for a late lunch. Hubby got the grilled chicken Sharwama wrap with fries set, I ordered the mix grill set. Turkish coffee wasn't that good unfortunately. Both were delicious and I can see why the google reviews were so good. Plenty of seating outside as well as inside. Very nice decor. Definitely recommended if you are in the area and after browsing the Hanging Church, Fortress and St George's Church.
Everything was good. Friendly people with delicious food and reasonable prices. I’ve been told this was the best place in that area.
Services were great and fast and they didn’t overcharge me like other places.
Amazing place! We were 4 people and had different meals. The meals were awesome, each one with one main and some side dishes. I am vegetarian, so I had the Falafel meal with hummus. It was delicious!!
Crowded lunch place but food was yummy. Grilled chicken and beef kofta plus falafels were good.
We visited the restaurant/café with our guides today and it was tastewise much better than the food in our Hotel in Hurghada, haha. Absolutely worth it and friendly service.
It was an unexpected place to find great food and atmosphere .. Family owed and operated. Nice to see generational family working. But to see how much the son enjoyed what he does. The food was out of this world. Never expected to find Great food in a whole in the wall place!!
Hard to find good food let alone GREAT FOOD!! Awesome!
