Koshari restaurant

Restaurant
Koshary Abou Tarek is a must-visit for both first-time visitors and locals seeking comfort food in the city. The restaurant has been serving its specialty, koshari, since 1935. This modern Egyptian staple combines rice, lentils, chickpeas, macaroni, and vermicelli noodles topped with a flavorful tomato sauce seasoned with lemon, vinegar, and chili.
A nice experience from the restaurant itself to the excellent service and somewhat the food. Everything was great and food was good. I felt there is more pasta that lentils therefore if you like lentils dont shy off asking for more. Highly recommend local restaurant
Dee A — Google review
Amazing food, and amazing service. They don't overcharge you because you are a foreigner. They only have kosheri, but this is the go-to place for it. It was crowded, we had to walk up several floors. This was the first dish we had in Egypt. We had no stomach bug after it. It tastes AMAZING.
Viktor K — Google review
Koshary Abou Tarek is a must-visit when you’re in Cairo! The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and the service is truly outstanding. Every single waiter was extremely friendly, helpful, and full of good energy. The staff made the experience really fun and memorable. You don’t just come here for the food – which is also great – but for the great mood and warm hospitality. Highly recommended!
Senad G — Google review
I've been here to try the traditional Egyptian dish "koshary." It was pretty good, and you can adjust the sauces according to your preferences . This restaurant has its own festive song that kept being played all along. We sat outside, and it was lovely seeing the people walking while enjoying the meal.
Randa K — Google review
A small and tight place for maybe 20-25 people. Great service. Amazing local Egyptian food. 10/10
Alex A — Google review
Might be a very touristy place, but the koshary was good and the vibes are great, people were literally dancing in the streets. I got the smallest size but it was a big enough portion.
SA A — Google review
You must go for the authentic experience... I had a lot of amazing food/meals in Egypt and this was my absolute favorite in downtown Cairo.
Keith M — Google review
A true Egyptian food experience. Only one dish is served here and therefore the food arrives quickly. Also ask for a dessert. Good value for money

Fast food restaurant
Zööba is a popular spot in Cairo that offers a gourmet twist on traditional Egyptian street food using fresh, local ingredients. The menu features dishes like whole-grain koshari, chicken liver hawashi, and sakalans sandwiches served with freshly baked bread. The restaurant's vibrant decor and casual outdoor setting create a lively atmosphere for diners to enjoy healthy cuisine.
Definitely one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had in Egypt.. specially that I’m on a high protein diet, their eggs shakshoka with cheese, chicken shawarma dish were so delicious and clean.. it’s definitely gonna be my routine to visit Zooba and recommend it for my friends.
Abdullah A — Google review
I don’t understand why it is so famous. Taste normal. And the classic beef sandwich is extremely spicy, I would not have ordered that if I knew.
Zhang P — Google review
Amazing. Must visit in Zamalek. Had a couple of lunches here - super quick, great quality, v flavoursome and incredibly budget friendly! Highly recommend.
Effie R — Google review
The food is fresh, the falafel salad was so delicious and tasty. We had a very good time, we had to wait a little to be seated but it wasn’t too long. It was a nice vibe inside with lots of tourists just like us. Although we wish the portion were bigger, we definitely recommend !
Lazaar B — Google review
The best place in Kairo Zamalek for breakfast - service & people are amazing. The service is excellent, the waiters welcome you with open arms and you feel completely at ease here. The location is small and doesn't invite you to linger for long, but that doesn't detract from the excellent quality of the food. If you are in Cairo, you absolutely have to eat here. Thanks to the Zööba team
J. S — Google review
Great local eatery with traditional dishes. Fast service and friendly staff. We went back few time during our week traveling in Cairo.
Lorena G — Google review
Zooba tastes good, but the service was slow and unorganized. There was a waiting queue and the people at the tables were also waiting. They got our order wrong twice. We didn't ask to correct it the second time. They don't provide tissues or wet wipes or eating utensils. Overall, it's good taste, cleanliness in the kitchen, which is important for the customers, not necessarily in the eating area. Would visit again, but it's overrated.

Cafe
Nestled in the heart of Khan El Khalili, Cairo's renowned bazaar, the Khan El Khalili Restaurant et Naguib Mahfouz Coffee Shop offers a captivating experience that transports visitors to ancient Egypt. Named after the esteemed Egyptian writer Naguib Mahfouz, this establishment has been serving guests since 1989 and is celebrated for its exceptional hospitality.
I recently visited Naguib Mahfouz Restaurant at Khan El Khalili and had a pretty great experience! The food was really good, but there’s a minimum charge of 600 pounds. The highlight for me was the live music, especially the electric violin—I'm not usually into Arabic music, but it was really enjoyable. The waiters were traditionally dressed and super friendly, adding to the authentic vibe. There are two main areas: one for dining, which isn’t too loud, and another perfect for grabbing a drink and soaking in the music. It’s definitely a place to visit, with such a historical feel. Highly recommend!
Anastasia T — Google review
The atmosphere at Naguib Mahfouz Restaurant is truly charming — rich with traditional Egyptian decor and a warm, nostalgic vibe that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into history. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming experience. However, the food itself is average Portions are decent, but the flavors felt a bit underwhelming for the price. Oriental desserts are not good at all, kofta seem to be pre-cooked and stored on the fridge and then coocked. Overall, it’s a nice spot to visit for the ambiance, but don’t set your expectations too high on the food.
Mohamed H — Google review
The atmosphere is fantastic, it gives you a magical feeling coming from Egypt past 🪄 very clean. Bad service, we asked many times for napkins, soft drinks in the cans were expired, there was a delay with food and couldn’t figure out which orders they delivered , definitely not the place to visit when is busy. Communication with personnel was challenging 🤣 and they were trying to overcharge at the payment. Better not to visit. They offered us a course at €60 each person which when we asked around the charge should be €20 😅😅😂
Mike — Google review
A hidden gem in the middle of Khan El Khalili bazar. The atmosphere is very authentic and the staff adds that extra notch to really make you feel welcomed. The food is traditional Egyptian food. The service is fast and efficient. They will always try and accommodate and changes to the meal, in case there is something you do not like. In our case they replaced the rabbit for chicken and changed the green sauce to a nice traditional tomato dish. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Stiliyan S — Google review
A Magical Egyptian Evening at Khan El Khalili Stepping into Khan El Khalili Restaurant – Naguib Mahfouz Cafe feels like entering another world. The live Egyptian music and rich ambiance instantly immerse you in Cairo’s cultural soul. We had a late dinner featuring Egyptian-Lebanese starters, followed by bıldırcın dolması (stuffed quail) and grilled chicken — both flavorful and well-prepared. The highlight was dessert: Om Ali. A must-try! Crispy pastry, warm milk, nuts — baked to perfection. Easily a 10/10. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to feel the true spirit of Egypt.
Hakan D — Google review
As someone born and raised in Cairo, nothing compares to the timeless charm of Khan El Khalili—and the Naguib Mahfouz Café and Restaurant truly capture the soul of this magical place. Every time I visit, it feels like coming home. The ambiance is absolutely mesmerizing. The handmade wooden chairs and tables are rich with authentic Egyptian craftsmanship, and the live Arabic band playing beloved Egyptian classics fills the air with nostalgia and beauty. Sitting there, enjoying a delicious dinner, chatting with one of the kind-hearted staff members, and soaking in the music—it was an unforgettable experience we all loved. Khan El Khalili never fails to enchant, with its vibrant market full of treasures—from jewelry and antiques to spices and unique handmade gifts. And being just steps away from Al-Azhar and Al-Hussein Mosques adds a spiritual and historical depth that makes the area even more special. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning to your roots like I often do, this place is truly a gem of Cairo. A must-visit, not just for tourists—but for anyone who loves Egypt.

The food here is delicious. The chicken liver dish is amazing, ox tail stew is also nice, and you should try lentil soup and ox leg soup, there are very soft and umami.

Abou El Sid Restaurant is a popular choice for those seeking authentic Egyptian cuisine. With multiple locations in Zamalek, Maadi, and Dokki, this quality chain restaurant offers delicious koshary and other traditional dishes. While some may prefer homemade koshary at an Egyptian Aazooma, Abou El Sid provides a great dining experience with interesting variations like whole-wheat koshary.
One of the finest and oldest Egyptian restaurants in Cairo that is specialized in traditional Egyptian food. They have a diverse menu of soups, salads, starters, main dishes, barbecues, desserts, and drinks. They serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Their non-vegetarian meals come with chicken, lamb, beef, pigeon, and rabbits. Their food portions are quite filling (Egyptian food in general comes quite heavy). They accept both cash and card payment. They have indoor seating. Service is good especially when the restaurant isn’t very crowded. They have branches elsewhere in Cairo.
Fahd ب — Google review
Hidden behind an unassuming door is this absolute gem of a restaurant. My partner and I arrived without booking and enjoyed one of the best meals we've had! The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the staff amazing. We had the stuffed pigeon and Veal about el sid style with a couple of side dishes. The meatballs were fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely visit again. Can't recommend highly enough. Many thanks to all the staff

A true Egyptian cuisine experience in the heart of Zamalik. Food is complemented by a nice ambience and good service. Make sure to book and to check the surrounding shops. There are many great finds in the neighbourhood.
Ahmad H — Google review
The bad reviews don’t do this restaurant justice! Extensive Egyptian menu. Excellent service and an atmospheric setting. Food came out very quickly. Some of the dishes could have been hotter. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Zamalek. Booking essential.
Effie R — Google review
Delicious Egyptian cuisine and atmosphere that transports you back 100 years! I’d eaten here 3-4 times ten years ago, and just returned for dinner last week. It holds up & it great to see both local business people dining alongside tourists :) I love the meseka’a (eggplant in tomato sauce) dish!
Andrew M — Google review
Inside the old building, it feels old with the old music you feel you are in the okd days like 75 years ago, My wife went to the toilet and was disappointed with how dirty it is, and then I went to gent toilet and it was clean, so they better concentrate on the cleanliness of the women toilet I will review the foid after eating the stuffed pigeons. the kushary was huge and tasty, the musakaa was excellent the abu sid salad was great, unfortunately the stuffed pigeon was almost meatles so don't consider it as your protein, it was an excellent meal. just before leaving a nearby table, a woman started smoking a cigarette

We had two very great experiences there! Food was delicious, atmosphere great. We went there twice during our 4 days stay in Cairo. Very recommendable!

I loved the place and the food Quality for food is really good and clean but they need to add more varieties for food Desserts was amazing and delicious View is nice Staff are really helpful and polite It will not be my last time for sure

We had a lovely dining experience at Zitouni. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with beautiful views that added to the overall charm. Service was attentive throughout our meal. The food was good – smooth, flavourful hummus and a deliciously spiced Hawawshi really stood out. The mixed grill was also tasty and well-prepared. While the desserts were a bit underwhelming overall, the chocolate knafe was a standout and absolutely worth trying. A solid spot for a refined Egyptian meal with great service and ambiance!

For Egyptian food lovers ..this is an amazing breakfast place as well. Great traditional Egyptian food like “foul, taameya, feteer meshaltet, baladi bread” All served in a beautiful atmosphere with a unique Nile view. Service is warm and friendly and very attentive.

You get up to choose the salad Then again to choose main dish and again to choose dessert It’s a buffet but much more private, it felt like they made the food just for us The dishes are like Egyptian homemade food. The vegetables in tomato sauce بسلة وجزر بالدمعة and red meat cooked in ways I never dared to try. All tasty made with love and the chefs are happy to serve you, they explain the dishes and encourage you to try the food. The Nile view completed the experience. You can take smoke breaks at the bar next door same floor, where there is live piano music.
Noha O — Google review
We had the ala carte instead of the buffet which we found to be more appealing. The chicken shawarma and lamb was cooked perfectly and the complimentary dessert Om Ali was delicious.

Meat dish restaurant
Nestled close to the iconic Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Fasahet Somaya is a charming eatery that feels like stepping into a warm family gathering. The inviting bright blue door beckons visitors inside, where the decor—painted in soothing white and blue hues—evokes a hint of the Greek Isles while remaining distinctly Egyptian. Here, chef and owner Somaya Al Asyoty serves up authentic homemade dishes that have garnered admiration over her decade-long journey as a local favorite.
Very cozy restaurant, tourist friendly, authentic homemade egyptian food. Only opens for 2 hours from 5-7pm with a daily delicious set-menu, so make sure to queue up at least 10 mins ahead! Food is served once ordered since it is already prepared. As an Egyptian, I have to say this is one of the best authentic homemade Egyptian experiences.
Amr D — Google review
I read a lot about this place and seen videos. I was very curious to try it. I ordered three dishes, I liked the stuffed vegetables the most, although some pieces were a bit dry. I ordered beef in cumin sauce, which was good, but nothing too crazy. The molokhia is served without rice, as a soup. I didn't like it that much.
Elias C — Google review
My favorite restaurant in Cairo. Loved it so much I came here twice and cried that I didn’t discover it earlier to have every single dinner here. While the dishes may not be photogenic, I guarantee you they are very tender, juicy, flavorful, and generous. I especially appreciated the knuckle soup, the different liver dishes, and the bean soup (the best bean soup I’ve ever had, bold claim I know). They change the menu daily so you can always come back for more. Run don’t walk to Fasahet Somaya!

I visited this restaurant evening. I ordered the beef piccata, green salad, glass noodle rice, and rice pudding. All were excellent. It was delicious. The rice pudding and beef piccata were some of the most delicious meals I have ever had in my life. I will visit you again when I come to Cairo.

The place is small in the most charming and cozy way, with colorful walls and a warm homely atmosphere. The staff and Chef Somaya are wonderful, welcoming, and make you feel at home. We had the Chicken stew with mixture and the Kebab Hilla (slow-cooked beef stew)—both were excellent, flavorful, and felt authentically homemade. The Molokhia and Vermicelli rice were simple but comforting. Overall, I truly enjoyed the experience—it felt like dining with family.

Home cooked market fresh meals! You won’t be disappointed. Skip places like Felfela (for the tourists) and spend your money here instead. Go early at 17h because when the food is gone, the restaurant closes. Absolutely worth it. We got everything that was on the menu and it was delicious.

Located within the Kempinski Hotel, Osmanly Restaurant offers a fine dining experience with classic Turkish cuisine and drinks. The restaurant presents a blend of Ottoman, Lebanese, and Egyptian culinary influences, offering a flavorful menu with traditional Turkish dishes. Despite being on the pricier side, Osmanly is recommended for various occasions such as family gatherings or romantic dinners. The cozy and vibrant ambiance is complemented by colorful decor featuring whirling dervish paintings and Iznik pottery.
Excellently served by Ahmad and Adam. Quick and efficient service for a delicious cuisine. I was amazed by the french fries not too much fried in appearance but well cooked. It deserves me crossing the whole earth to come to Cairo.

The first restaurant we ate at in Egypt, the food was absolutely delicious and the service first rate. The kebab served on a table side spit was a high point, and the Beyti kebab gave a savoury baklava vibe. Highly recommended!

This Turkish Restaurant belongs to the Hotel Kempinski NILE. We got invited for a meal from the Restaurant Manager, Mr. Ahmed Ragab, whom I have informed about some negative experiences in the Lounge and Blue Restaurant. The ambiance of the Restaurant is nice but not luxury, what I have expected from a 5 Star Hotel. We were sitting in a separate room. Fast we got the Menu. We ordered Mezze ( 6 different were served), the Jumbo Prawns and mixed Seafood baked in the oven. The presentation could have done better. All of the fresh fish was swimming in the deep sauce on a small fish plate. It was difficult to find the fish due to be covered and swimming in the brown sauce. The taste of the mixed fish ( white fish and Salmon, Prawns and Mussels was good except the two Mussels. It was difficult to eat from this plate. If I wouldn't have done it slowly and carefully all would have landed on the table cloth. Opposite the Mezze was perfectly prepared and of an unbeatable good taste. What a pity that nobody has cared about us sitting in a separate room. In general I can recommend this Restaurant.

Outstanding service from Ahmed Nasser and Essam. Food taste, ingredients and presentation are amazing. We enjoyed every single plate and the fine dining experience. Highly recommend restaurant. It's located inside Kempinski Nile hotel.

This is a lovely restaurant by the Nile. This was a last-minute stop as another place we looked at was closed. The menu is more than comprehensive and it would be very hard to decide on the things you want to eat. Definitely get one of the starters and a main, if there is room left a dessert will do it just right. We had a few different things and we loved it all. We loved the experience from the start to the end and will repeat it on our next stay. Our waiter Oman was very kind, and friendly and this experience was special.

Egyptian restaurant
Mediterranean restaurant
Felfela is a popular vegan restaurant in Cairo, offering a diverse range of cuisines including Fast food, Middle Eastern, Egyptian, and vegan options. With multiple outlets, it's known for its street food eatery serving dishes like Tamiya, Humus, Besara, Foul, Tahini, Babaganouch and grilled eggplant. The restaurant also boasts a wide selection of drinks and an authentic setting that provides an extraordinary experience amidst the grand Islamic structures in old Cairo.
Felfela is considered an upscale restaurant, and even the basic dishes here are of excellent quality. We all agreed that their flatbread was the best we had ever eaten, and it was here that we truly fell in love with falafel, the classic Middle Eastern delight. We ordered: • Foul Eskandaryany – In Egypt, foul refers to stewed fava beans, seasoned with cumin, lemon juice, and olive oil. • Mixed Grilled Platter – A perfect combination of beef, lamb, and chicken, grilled to perfection: tender, juicy, and full of flavor. • Grilled Pigeons – Almost every article about Egyptian cuisine recommends trying this dish, so of course we had to give it a shot. But at the end of the day, it’s still pigeon — little meat, lots of bones, somewhat tricky to eat, and the flavor was just average. I doubt even a Michelin-starred chef could make it taste amazing. We wanted to order desserts — Om Ali and homemade yoghurt. The waiter suggested we order them after finishing the main courses. When we finally did, we waited a long time only to be told they were out. That definitely deserved a “frog face” from us. As I mentioned earlier, both the basic dishes and the meat sauces we tried were above standard, and pairing them with the flatbread or white rice was pure enjoyment. In fact, even eating just Felfela’s flatbread or rice on their own would not disappoint. Egyptian restaurants seem to have an unspoken rule: everything ordered at a table is served at the same time. Even if the first dish is ready, they won’t bring it out until everything is done, which means every meal involves a long wait. Another quirk is that each table must be served by a single waiter, probably because of how tips are handled. This can be quite inconvenient — if you ask another waiter for something, they will say “one moment” and then disappear, while your original waiter also mysteriously vanishes. -27/12/24

This place converted me to a falafel fan or as the Egyptians call it Ta’ameya, recipe being also a bit different and in my novice opinion the best I have tasted. It was super crunchy on the outside, bright with ground spices and soft on the inside. Perfectly spiced and packed full of flavor. The other stand out were the Veal chops. Food overall really tasty. Fit out a bit eclectic, with fish tanks, bird houses, murals and eclectic lamps. All a little dusty, mysterious and giving off just the Cairo vibes a tourist is after. Where the place falls done is Service. Friendly faces standing around, forgetting items, missing cutlery and taking forever to bring a drink.

Very good food in an amazing building. Tourist vibe does not take away from the experience. Falafel was excellent although lacked seasoning. Tourists should be aware that credit cards are not accepted and the service charge does not include a tip. Typical Egypt…

Stopped here for a final lunch at the end of our holiday. Without doubt the best falafel we have had (apparently the secret is fava beans instead of lentils). Service very good: friendly and helpful. We Recommend !

Everything was good except service. I waited 5 mins for menu and 15 mins fot dessert. It came from fridge but it feels like they are doing it again. They accept only cash and i didnt know that. I told the waiter who is in suit and he came to atm with me after i got the cash he told me you must give 100egp it is not written on the receipt. And i told him of course i know that is not written there. He kept asking me while im keeping to say no. If he didnt say anything i’ll give some but after that big no

Listen! This food is amazing. The hotel is beautiful. The restaurant is beautiful. The wait staff was great and again that food was amazing. Everyone loved their meal. It was 7 of us here on vacation from the US. I ordered the green curry with the chocolate milkshake and the fried bananas for dessert. Other people ordered the pad thai, beef, salmon and the duck.

Vanessa and the whole staff gave more than their best to ensure the perfect experience and meal for us. The food was absolutely amazing, from appetizers to noodles that definetely stole my heart. The attention to any detail was impressive. Lots of vegetarian and gluten free options as well and fair prices. Highly recommended!!

I really like the Tom Yum soup - super tasty! The crispy fried duck was a bit overcooked and dry, and both the fried banana ice cream and banana piña colada were too sweet for my taste. Loved the hibiscus-ginger welcome drink tho, and they even refilled it for me. Atmosphere and service were great, but note that menu prices are before VAT and service charge.

The BIRDCAGE is located inside the Intercontinental Semiramis in Cario, Egypt. It is a lovely Thai restaurant. The restaurant is very nice. The service was top Notch by Mohamed Lesayed, and I forgot the name of the lovely young lady who suggested great dishes. Mr Mohamed was attentive and helpful. He was quite nice to speak with, being that we're visiting. Our food was magnificent. The shrimped were wrapped in a delicious crunchy cage. 😋 the chicken minced salad had the perfect amount of heat. Le Pacha 1901 is a renowned dining complex located in the prestigious Le Pacha complex in Zamalek. It offers a variety of upscale dining experiences set aboard a floating boat on the Nile, providing stunning views and an elegant setting.
Piccolo mondo , you get in and find some italian decorations and names of people carved on the walls all around you , you get seated by helpful staff (but you need to have a reservation) , the menu has a wide selection of drinks and Italian cuisine dishes. I ordered seafood pasta and salmon fettuccine and both were very tasty , the best thing about this place is the view by the nile which makes the whole experience blends in together nicely. If you want a break from the city lights this place is highly recommended .
John S — Google review
Piccolo Mondo, nestled in the basement of Le Pasha boat, offers a cozy setting with pseudo "Italian specialties". The ambiance is charming and the service is decent, making it a pleasant spot for a casual meal. The food itself is middle-of-the-road — nothing extraordinary but passable. The biggest letdown was the bread buns, which tasted like they were defrosted in the microwave and lacked freshness. Overall, it's an acceptable choice if you're not seeking culinary perfection but just a relaxed meal by the Nile.
Marwan R — Google review
What a great place! We kicked off our Egypt holiday here and finished it here because Carlo Le Pacha 1901 does everything we wanted. Good beer? Check. Tasty cocktails? Check. Excellent food (both Egyptian and other choices)? Check. The real winner for us was the combination of all that with a solid shisha/hookah menu and live sports on TV. It's the complete package you struggle to find elsewhere. The vibe is upscale but comfortable. We'll be back on our next trip for sure!

Le Pacha is an absolute gem in Cairo! The food was delicious — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, perfect for a memorable evening. But what really made the experience unforgettable was the stunning view of the Nile! This place is a must-try. Highly recommended!

Amir was a great host. We had so much fun. The food was great. Drinks are beyond amazing. Great vibes all around.

Le Pacha was definitely a great experience in Cairo! The staff was very helpful and friendly, the food amazing and the environment very well organised. The portions were big and fulfilling, and the flavours incredible. Try out the Steak with roquefort sauce, it is a wonderful dish, accompanied with excellent fries! Also, do not forget to take a look around and visit the terrace, as the view of the Nile is beautiful. Keep in mind there is a big staircase to reach the restaurant with no ramps, so it's not for people with reduced mobility.
Σάντυ M — Google review
Disappointing experience. Le Pacha group is recognized for upscale dining, specialy, Carlos. However, piccolo mondo was a disappointment. In a basic Italian themed restaurant, you are served high quality EVOO and a fine balsamic vinegar, paired with good quality bread, while waiting for the meal. That was not provided until we asked for it. We received a bowl of stale olive oil, and low quality balsamic vinegar. Compared to other lower caliber Italian themed restaurants in heliopolis, piccolo mondo failed. Pizza ingredients were good, the expected quality, but the dough was more of chewy bread. In the end, that was not the anticipated quality while dining in le pacha
Salam G — Google review
Better make a reservation. It was a very pleasant experience with loads of Italian vibes. As if you are sitting inside an old pizzeria in Italy. The menu is varied and the quality of the food is worth the price. We enjoyed a selection of Italian salads, Salami pizza, and Penne Le Pacha. We were quite full and we had no room for dessert after this delicious load of carbs. You get to enjoy a very nice and close view of the Nile since it is located in the bottom floor of the boat. Fit for a date and a casual dining experience.

Maison Thomas in Zamalek, Cairo has been a go-to spot for delicious pizza since 1912. This renowned restaurant offers a variety of thin-crust pizzas, including favorites like funghi, pastrami, four-cheese, and the beloved Margherita. What sets Maison Thomas apart is its blend of Italian and American pizza with an Egyptian twist, resulting in a unique and unforgettable flavor experience.
The best everrrrrr... This is better than the pizza i got in Italy! ...some of the best pasta plates I have ever tasted...I have only tried the Zamalek branch for the past 24 years ...I don't think I will try other branches honestly ...original is usually the best ...
Karim A — Google review
I must admit, I had high expectations for this pizza place, but it fell short of my expectations. The pizza was bland and the crust was thick and unappealing. It was a complete disappointment. On the bright side, the service was excellent. The waiter, with white hair and a thoughtful demeanor, took care of everything except for the pizza. The lasagna was okay, but not as good as the pasta at the nearby O’s. The salad was average, with a small portion and a high price. Despite these shortcomings, there’s still a chance I’ll visit again.
夏召汉 — Google review
One of the best pizzas in Egypt. To be honest the toppings are much better than the dough. But overall the food is tasty. The personnel are very gentle and welcoming. For sure, a place that I certainly would like to come over again with pleasure.
Samir C — Google review
Found this beautiful quaint little place today. Founded in 1922 with art deco lights. Plenty of vegetarian options. Ordered the Capriossca pizza (my first ever pizza with boiled egg!) and Margherita and cheese garlic bread. Simple, flavorful but delicious. Friendly service and quite popular with the locals. Their molten chocolate cake was also nice Open 24hrs for delivery. Shut only from 2am to 5am! Definitely a place to visit again.
Karthik M — Google review
The food was amazing delicious and special. I really recommended for anyone loved pizza or pasta.
Saeed A — Google review
The food is delicious, but there are definitely better pizzas and pastas elsewhere. The pizza crust is very, very thin. The price is overpriced; you can eat much more elsewhere for less. It's only good to try once, no more. The place is cramped, and sometimes sitting with a moderate number of people is uncomfortable.
WA'EL M — Google review
I loved the place and its vibe. The staff is friendly and your order comes fast. The pizza is amazing! I’m not a pizza loving person. But this vegetarian pizza made me fall in love with it. It was filled with toppings and the dough is thin so I can enjoy the toppings even more! I also liked the alfredo pizza, but vegetarian is my favorite. Highly recommend if you like veggies! You can also add cheese to it. The prices are very affordable and they include tax(not service). And by the way, don’t order garlic bread you’ll be disappointed. Focus on the delicious pizza!

April 2024: been here more than 10 years ago.quality has changed for the worse. It was the best quality cheese and soft thin Napolitano dough. This is a product place, it should reflect on quality of ingredients. We got 2 medium pizzas. The dough is thin and dry, gauging from -my pizza making days-I think this is a ready-made dough. It was dry and not tasty. The cheese quality is best there is in this high cost market but it is not like before. The tomato sauce is not represented in the taste group of the pizza. The 3 stars are for the dry dough and for that the place has no bathroom 😲 . I'm sure it was not possible to put one for whatever reason, but it is not acceptable to have a sit-down restaurant without a bathroom.

Wow this restaurant served the best food and wine. The staff were so friendly and funny. They made sure we had everything we needed. The view is great directly in front of the Nile. It was a lovely fine dine experience without the extra formalities. They gave us recommendations that did not disappoint. The steaks were my favourite. The elevator broke down tho and we had no other option of going down and the manager refused to give me a free glass of wine which was sad. Would definitely recommend the restaurant and definitely planning on coming again in my next trip to Egypt.

Pros: The Egyptian dishes here are authentic and full of flavor—perfect if you’re craving real local food. The cozy decor and friendly staff make it a really welcoming spot. I'm fine with all the dishes my meal was nice and unique touch. Location in Zamalek is super convenient, surrounded by other cool places to explore. Overall rating is 07/10. Cons: It's not to find parking nearby!. And it gets pretty crowded during peak hours, so you might have to wait a bit for a table. Service can be slow when it’s busy, which can be a bit frustrating. Prices are slightly on the higher side, but the quality of the food helps justify it. Otherwise can't complain.

Food was great, the koshari and spicy potatoes were delicious. When we arrived it was empty except for one other person (around 6:30). Service was a bit lacking and not overly friendly, but not rude at all. Food came out very quickly. The restaurant itself was a bit cheap feeling, more like a budget diner.

Was a terrible experience. 0 cleanliness. I found in the rice a peace of steel wire those we use to clean dishes with, thank god I saw it and showed it to them, it would have destroyed my stomach. And again found hair in the found, and ended up with a disaster finding insect in the food. The manager suddenly disappeared and left the place and I kept waiting for him. Until even the Chef was the one had to touch with his hands the Visa card machine so I can finally pay for the disgusting food. Toilet is very dirty and no toilet papers nowhere. Absolutely disgusting experience. Don’t recommend it, the food itself tasted old and not that delicious at all

Came in at 11:15am, food arrived at around 12. Two staff members. 3 other tables were occupied. I went up to ask for the menu, then later asked for his attention to take our order. Ordered the lemon curd pancake, shakshuka eggs, and matcha latte. They didn't have matcha. I walked up to the counter multiple times since they didn't seem to pay much attention to our table. Pros: location and atmosphere. The place is clean, well decorated with large windows. Cons: serving time and food delivery took about an hour. The eggs were undercooked, the pancakes were dry, and the toast was stale and hard as a rock. We asked to exchange it. He brought another 2 pieces that were rotten (green spots/mold was visible). He brought another piece of bread to make it up, but by then we were done with the experience. We left. I went up to the counter and asked to charge me only for the water. They charge 29 Egyptian pounds for a small bottle of water. One of the worst experiences I have ever had in a supposedly upscale restaurant! Will never step foot in there again. It's so sad that it has such great potential, but is left to the hands of employees who don't care much to see it succeed!

Zeeyara Restaurant is a hidden gem located on the roof terrace of Le Riad Hotel de Charme Cairo, offering a stunning view of the old town. Visitors have raved about the authentic Egyptian food and excellent service, with particular highlights being the camel meatballs and refreshing Egyptian tea with mint. The restaurant provides a peaceful atmosphere to enjoy delicious meals and relax while surrounded by friendly and attentive staff.
Quite pricey, but definitely a good place. Unfortunately the breakfast ends way too soon. We arrived a little after 11 and it was already over. Anyway the food was really good. The place is on the roof, so there is a nice view over the streets.

I loved this place. When we entered we were told it is fully booked although most tables were empty. When we were about to leave they kindly offered a table outside which is what we wanted. Entire night most tables outside were empty but may be this is normal in Egypt . Food was great and delicious. I had the minced meat and my wife had lamb with rice. Service was ok. Views were stunning and overall a pleasant experience

Located in the heart of old town bazaar Khan il Khalil. The area is hectic but this place is beautiful with a nice rooftop garden overlooking the old town. The food was good and their smoothies are delicious!

We had an excellent time at Zeeyara! The food was delicious- our favourites were the bulgur camel meatballs, Auzy Zeeyara and the sahlab drink. A special thanks to Mohammed Yasir, who made our visit even better with his helpful suggestions, great sense of humour and professional service. He even helped us choose the menu and took lovely photos. Truly impressive hospitality and superb views from the terrace seating area- highly recommended!

Nestled in the vibrant Khan El Khalili bazaar, Farahat Grill is a must-visit for anyone exploring this bustling area. Renowned for its delectable hamam mahshy, or stuffed pigeon, this charming eatery offers an authentic taste of Egyptian cuisine that many claim to be the best in the country. The atmosphere is lively and filled with local charm, complete with friendly cats that roam around—an endearing part of Egypt's culture.
The pigeon with stuffed rice was delicious and at a wonderful price. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended 😀

Local grill place, not touristic, more locals eating here. Cash only. Looks and ambiance is not tempting but the lamb, fries, rice and stuffed pigeon were tasty. Recommend the place for a really local experience.
Tolga S — Google review
They are famous for their pigeons, grilled or stuffed with rice and is really tasty. They are not known for their service, cleanness, or generally for tourists that used to western service or expectations. Our restaurant was in an alley space, many cats at your feet, some are fighting. The waiters are wise guys, not really interested in serving tourists, they know you won’t be repeating customers. Keep an eye on your bill they do make “mistakes” by overcharging, funny never make a mistake of making undercharging 🤣 You come for the pigeons and experience the real local life, if you aren’t up to that don’t come here. Go to your hotel restaurant 😄 FYI, they have other cleaner locations. Good luck of getting a taxi into or finding a taxi going home. Ask how we know🙄
Jesse L — Google review
Food: stuffed pigeon, Kofta & Trab. It is nice, I am no expert in Egyptian cuisine, but this food is up to my liking! Service: staff didn’t really going to take care of you, and doesn’t speak English well. We are lucky to meet a kind English speaking Egyptian couple who eating there to recommend and help us with our order. And the waiter still ask for tips and I think the shop overly charged me. Atmosphere: the shop is located at one end of alley, not easy to find I would say. Not spacious, not very clean. But as a tourist, have to have reasonable expectations visit where you are at.
HY L — Google review
The ambiance is very raw. You have to sit in the alley or the chairs in small makeshift shops, used as dining area. Food is good and prices are very economical. They do give complimentary unlimited bread along with green tomato salad and hummus and pickles. Menu is simple. They serve grilled meat items as their specialty. You get lots of cats near you when you dine in.

One of my favorites.this is the first place that comes to my mind after I finish visiting Al-Azhar and the other mosques. The taste is always delicious. Prices are reasonable for Kebab. It's crowded but you won't wait too long to sit which is really good. I took my friends there and they were very happy and amazed by the taste of pigeons and tarb. Can't wait to go there again.
Nora S — Google review
I enjoy this resturant, the food is delicious, I really like the pigeons and tarp. The place is just a little local outside resturant, on the street, it's full of local activity and cats, cats are a part of Egypt and they enjoy roasted meats like we do. The resturant works at keeping the cats away, I don't mind the kitties and even feed them, I eat here everytime I am back in Egypt.
Skye W — Google review
The quality of the food is 4 of 10 All food was full of fat Very expensive and over priced the restaurant tables almost on the street with an enormous number of cats, so it is not a suitable place if you have a cat phobia all the salads, water and bread are added to the bill without your request The service was okay.

Seafood restaurant
Asmak Restaurant is a hidden gem for seafood lovers seeking an authentic Egyptian dining experience without the need to travel to the coast. Here, you can indulge in a variety of fresh seafood dishes, all priced by weight and cooked just the way you like it—whether fried, baked, grilled, or simmered in a traditional clay tagine. The ordering process is simple: choose your desired catch from the display and select your preferred cooking method before settling at your table to await your meal.
The food was delicious, fresh seafood, the atmosphere is not the best
Lina G — Google review
The experience at the seafood restaurant was very enjoyable. There was a wide variety of fresh fish and shrimp on display. We chose the sea bass and grilled shrimp with butterfly sauce. The restaurant was very clean and the service was fast. The average dinner cost for two people was around 3,700 EGP. I recommend it as a dedicated seafood restaurant.

Great staff that’s both friendly and attentive. They present a great selection of high quality seafood, cooking each dish to perfection. I highly recommend their Aroos fish, it was the highlight of our dinner.

Tasty food and fair price. ***** I came to this restaurant in 2022 FEB again. New decorations, new price and new rules. Compare to last year I went, I have to change my review. It’s more expensive than before but the cleaning was bad and staffs were pretty cold. The most important thing was the meals were not so tasty.
Lillian H — Google review
Thank you for the experience—it was overall enjoyable. However, I had a few concerns: the butterfly shrimp lacked its usual flavor and tasted mostly of lemon, and the tahini was overly sour with a dominant lemon taste. The other dishes were decent, though not exceptional. The rice was good, and the fried calamari stood out as the highlight of the meal. Baba ghanog salad 10/10 Tahini salad 2/10 Rice 9/10 Calamari 10/10 Clams 0/10 Butterfly shrimp 4/10 Lemon mint drink 10/10 very good stuff and manger they gave us a milk pudding as a compliment was nice Thank you

Lebanese restaurant
Restaurant
Taboula is a charming restaurant located in Cairo, known for its warm hospitality and diverse Middle Eastern cuisine. With branches in various neighborhoods, including Zamalek, Mohandessin, Garden City, Sheikh Zayed and Heliopolis, it offers an authentic taste of Lebanese food. The menu features a variety of dishes from Egypt and the Levant region, including mezze, grilled meats, and vegetarian options.
We visited Taboula twice. The first time, the service was impeccable — very welcoming and friendly. The second visit, however, was quite the opposite, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the food was great on both occasions. We ordered a variety of mezes, and every single one was delicious. The only dish I didn’t enjoy was the tabbouleh–fattoush combo. It felt more like a basic salad with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and a hint of honey. The only element that resembled fattoush was the fried bread pieces. The real highlight of the meal was the bread — absolutely amazing. Because of how filling it is, I’d recommend either enjoying it with the mezes or skipping straight to a main dish. Otherwise, you might find yourself too full to truly enjoy everything. Despite the inconsistent service, we loved the food enough to come back again. Taboula is definitely one of the nicest spots in the area.
Aya B — Google review
Very French/Lebanese style restaurant for tourists but tasteful. A little pricey but food was good, staff speak good English and French - they allow smoking at tables which is disappointing these days. Nice cosy atmosphere though in Garden City area.

We just explored the restaurant on Google maps and gave chance to try Lebanese & Egyptian cuisine. We really enjoyed the food which was so delicious, especially mango juice was so pure and fresh. The staff was kind and very friendly which made our dinner more enjoyable. As lastly ambience was so chill with arabesque music.

Cafe
El Fishawy Cafe, a historic establishment dating back to 1797, is a beloved spot in Cairo's bustling Khan El Khalili market. Its classic decor, featuring ornate lanterns and arabesque furniture against yellow ochre walls, creates an ambiance that harks back to earlier times. This family-owned cafe offers an authentic Egyptian experience with its 24/7 availability for socializing over sweet mint tea and a variety of fruit-flavored shisha.
A lovely place for coffee in the heart of the market after a walk. This café has a long history and tradition—you truly feel the local culture 100%. The coffee was quite good. The only downside is the constant street vendors, who can be very persistent. At one point, a musician expected to be paid just for playing on his own, but the café staff intervened and resolved the issue.
Konstantinos G — Google review
The atmosphere was great! We went there in the night after dinner for some local beverage. Unfortunately couldn’t try the famous coffee instead local tea we had as it was late in the night. There was live music and service was good. Staff were very friendly. Definitely you should visit this place if you are in Khan El Khalili
Halide V — Google review
I recently visited Fishawy Cafe in Khan El Khalili, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. Right when I arrived, I noticed that some people sat down at my table and started singing. At first, I thought they were part of the cafe staff, but it turned out they were just customers like me. When I asked for the menu, they told me there was no printed menu available. This made it hard for me to know what food or drinks I could order. At the end of my visit, I was surprised to find out that I had to pay a large amount of money because one of the singers decided how much I should pay. To make things worse, these singers then asked for money for their performance. They didn’t mention this when they first started singing, which felt quite unfair. Additionally, the noise from street vendors outside made it really hard to enjoy my drink. They were so loud that I couldn’t relax or focus on my time at the cafe. I do not recommend visiting Fishawy Cafe. You might end up feeling scammed, and it’s unlikely you will have a good time there.
Walaa A — Google review
What a vibe. Food is amazing too. Must visit when in this neighbourhood for a quick bite and a break from the shopping spree. We tried their Falafel and beans sandwich and they were amazing.
Abhy N — Google review
I’ve been there twice, and it’s a nice place to enjoy a classic aesthetic. However, they don’t have a menu or fixed prices, so you might get charged differently each time. Also, avoid talking to anyone who tries to approach you. If you don’t see staff wearing the brand’s red and blue logo, it’s best not to go in
Lujeyn A — Google review
Tripped over this cool cafe in the bazaar. Stopped for a coffee (Turkish coffee) only LE 65 and to refresh with water. A few customers were smoking shisha, so I had a grape one for LE 175. Comfy chairs lined along the alley facing the mob, so you get lots of hawkers, but it’s part of the fun. Didn’t eat here. Waiters have a bitnof a Parisian stiffness- they don‘t take mucking about. Very atmospheric and recommended
Colin R — Google review
They insist you come in and sit down. We ordered three Cokes. When we went to pay, they didn't accept card payments and we were charged 550. There are also people who want to sing to you at your table, even if you say no, they don't stop and ask for money the whole time. Definitely a terrible experience. I don't recommend it.

I had a wonderful experience at the Grill Restaurant. The food was excellent and full of flavor, and the view of the Nile made the atmosphere truly special. We celebrated my wife’s birthday there, and I had asked for a cake in advance — they delivered it beautifully and made the celebration unforgettable. Everything tasted fantastic and the lamb chops were one of the best one I have eaten. Thank you for making our trip even better with this place.

This is a local Egyptian restaurant. I have been to Cairo third time, and first time here. We were the only foreigners there, and the staff was very friendly and clean. (It seems they use disposable utensils for cleanliness and efficiency, but it would be nice if they had more forks and knives.) The grilled food is wrapped in foil, which at first I thought was a delivery service I know. I think it's for heat preservation and cleanliness. The lamb ribs are JMT! The flavor goes well with soju or wine. (They don't serve alcohol)

Crave is a popular restaurant known for its diverse menu and consistent high quality. The Steak & Mushroom Pasta is a standout dish, featuring expertly cooked steak and mushroom pieces with a complementing sauce. In addition to their legendary Shrimp Konafa and Turkey Scallopini, Crave offers healthier options like the Grilled Shrimp Guacamole and Taco Salad. Five Bells is a charming restaurant and bar that offers an authentic Egyptian dining experience with a touch of old-world elegance. The venue features lush outdoor seating, live piano music, and impeccably dressed servers. It caters to both families and expats, providing a serene atmosphere for enjoying music, food, and drinks. The restaurant manager was very nice and friendly, we made a reservation before we arrived. Probably you can’t call it a restaurant it’s a bar with dining tables, where smoking permeates the air, like most Egyptian restaurants. There is a delay in responding to your inquiries from the waiters. We find the food quality to be average or less, the prices are too high, and other services are being overcharged! I have attached the bills and the menu. The purpose of my review is to help others decide if it's right for them or not!

Nice restaurant and bar, where you can enjoy music, food and drinks. Pianist playing outside are creating a nice warming atmosphere, not cold in chilling night. Alcoholic beverages and liquor served, as well as soft drinks. Food is great and tasty, however was too spicy, not an option. Our order was delayed for quite long enough. In a busy night, there were few dessert dishes not available. Waiters and staff were really nice. A highly recommended place.

Japanese restaurant
Makino Japanese Restaurant, located in the Hilton Zamalek, is a hidden gem known among Japanese expats but not widely recognized by Egyptian locals and tourists. The restaurant's kitchen is run by Japanese chefs who serve up authentic dishes like sushi, sashimi, makimono, bento boxes, udon, and ramen. Occasionally, they also offer dishes with an Egyptian twist.
The food is great, and the service is excellent. They help you discover items you haven’t tried before. The food is very delicious, but the prices are quite high. Honestly, I will definitely come back again. The meal cost me 2,100 EGP. The service is really wonderful, and the food comes out quickly. Thank you!

I must say it is a very good Japanese restaurant, run by a Japanese man who suggests daily dishes and guide you on the selection with honesty. I recommend. It is inside the hilton hotel, ground floor. When entering the hotel hall, go left and walk to the corridor. You will see it on your ́left hand side.

One of the best spots for sushi in Cairo, Sashimi was great and fresh as usual, hoso maki rolls were on point. Shrimp tempura roll was one of my favs. No options for dessert except ice cream.

I visited this restaurant for lunch because I heard that I can eat really delicious Japanese food here. It is located on the ground floor of the Marriott. I wanted to eat tonkatsu, but they didn't have any thick meat for tonkatsu that day, which was very disappointing. I ordered agedashi tofu, tempura moriawase, sushi, pork shogayaki, and soy sauce ramen, and they were really delicious. I often get disappointed when I eat sushi overseas, but this place was different. And above all, the pork shogayaki was especially delicious. The total cost was about 2,500 EGP. This is a very satisfying restaurant. If you want to eat really delicious Japanese food in Egypt, you should definitely go here. I'm a Japanese person, so I can say this for sure. There were also staff members who could speak Japanese.

Very authentic Japanese food. But the service is absolutely terrible and basic, and I would never go back. Eg. We ordered a bento box with a variety of items and it arrived missing several pieces. After we noticed, they informed us that the menu was outdated and these items were no longer included in the bento box. It took an argument to get the items/replacements added to our order.

absolute disgarce and disappointment ... the order at least took 1hr and the service was the worse of all. We ordered pork katshu and unagidon, pork katshu meat was jerkey and hard to chew and unagidon didn't came out due to poor service. The staff wasn't helpful at all and the rice and other dishes was low quailty. I will never ever come back to this failure. 0/10

Mandarine Koueider is a renowned patisserie and dessert brand that has been a fixture in Cairo since 1928. This prestigious establishment offers an impressive selection of local desserts and freshly made ice creams, with flavors ranging from traditional options like chocolate and pistachio to more adventurous choices such as tiramisu and passion fruit. With over 90 years of history, Mandarine Koueider is celebrated for its high-quality pastries, chocolates, and gourmet desserts.
Amazing traditional patisserie in Zamalak with excellent quality, variety, service, and prices. After trying many of the well-known competitors, I can say that Mandarine Koueider had some of the best versions of most of the desserts offered. I was also pleasantly surprised by their walnut malban, which I did not expect to find there (having only ever seen it in Ali Muhiddin Haci Bekir in Istanbul). Highly recommend loading up on boxes and boxes from Mandarine Koueider!

Great ice cream. Pistachio was awesome! Only one ice cream server for the long queue 🤷🏻‍♂️ Fantastic cakes too!

The ice cream here is amazing! I tried the mango flavor, and it was absolutely delicious. Mango ice cream often tastes artificial, but this one was perfectly fresh and authentic. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more flavors!

Hands down the best ice cream in Zamalek—maybe in all of Cairo. I tried the mesteka (fragrant, not overly sweet) and dark chocolate (deep, silky, clean finish): 10/10. Portions are generous, service is quick, and the price was 140 EGP for two scoops—worth every pound.

My number 1 to go for Basbosa in Egypt. I love to buy it Sada (no nuts) and if you can get it with fresh Eshta (fresh cream) it will be sooooo good. Eid Kaak is really good as well (my favorite is Malban) I got also malban with eshta and it was really good. You can get it wrapped really well for luggage but I prefer to carry it by hand. Highly recommended.

Sweets are very good, taste very nice 😊 i asked the price for mixed boxes, they told me 500 each I bought 4 and I end up paying more than 2500 😂😂 whatever you do in Cairo, the minute the buyers figure out that you are foreigner you are finished 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nestled in the upscale district of Zamalek, the Garden Promenade Café is a delightful gem within the Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar El Khayyam Casino. This café stands out as an ideal spot for breakfast enthusiasts, boasting an extensive menu that includes everything from hearty breakfasts to delectable seafood platters. The ambiance is simply enchanting; with its stunning garden setting adorned with authentic oriental decor, it’s perfect for capturing those Instagram-worthy morning moments.
It’s hard to find an empty table. We came in the evening, we drank hot chocolate it was made the traditional way, old is gold, the way our mum used to do when we were kids :’) For the Black Forest cake its taste was light and the cherry sauce added to it!

This is a beautiful promenade. Perfect for warm sunny winter morning. However the service doesn't match the rest of the experience. The beer is barely cold, no draft beer available plus the service is extremely slow for unknown reasons. We had to wait almost 20 minutes for the check. This totally ruins the experience!
Ahmed H — Google review
I'm usually very easy going and chill with places but this was genuinely one of the worst hotels I ever dined at. Ordered an all american breakfast and it was mid as hell, the eggs were overcooked, the hash browns were undercooked and the bagels are just baked dough. Everything was all over the place and the service was ridiculous. I had to ask for each little thing atleast three times, like my coffee which still hasn't arrived as I write this. If you're planning on having breakfast here, go somewhere else unless you like bland eggs and uncooked hash browns 😊
Lola — Google review
Worst Experience Ever. As a Marriott member, never been to a hotel cafe with such poor service. Staff is unfriendly and not helpful. The quality of food is not acceptable. We ordered one creamy chicken soup and one Lasagna. Staff just gave us one set of tableware and placemat, without any confirmation with the customer. When we ask for one more set of tableware, staff is impatient and we feel uncomfortable. As an international brand, it will be better to provide better training to staff.

The place has a gorgeous garden. It is a nice place for a lovely dinner experience with its luxory atmosfere. Foods are really delicious and the service is beyond excellent. Speacial thanks to Ayman and Mohamad! They were so helpful and smiling. Definietly recommend!!

It saddens me to leave such a review for what used to be my favourite place. Unfortunately, the experience has changed. The staff seemed overwhelmed and under pressure, which affected the level of service. The food quality was disappointing, small portions, lacking in flavour, and overall poor value for money. Even the coffee, which I used to love, was bitter. It’s truly disheartening to see this decline.

Cafeteria
Granita Cairo is a charming "concept cafeteria" located near the All Saints Cathedral in Zamalek, paying homage to the grand cafes of Egypt from the 1930s and 1940s. The cafe offers both indoor and outdoor seating, making it ideal for brunches, work meetings, or simply enjoying coffee and pastries. Their menu includes breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, Greek pizzas, appetizers, main dishes, and homemade desserts.
Located inside a church complex with no sign, a literal hidden gem. From the beginning, I was blown away with the interior concept and decorations; tons of greens make the atmosphere refreshing and tranquil. The service was top-notch, adding to the exceptional hospitality. Fast-paced and attentive. The foods were good, I had the best brunch. But the cake? Hands-down my favourite one. Super flavourful, not too sweet and I loved the lime taste makes it more splendid. Jazz music played background adding to the wonderfulness, make me want to come again.

Very good place with awesome views in the middle of Zamalik city in Cairo. The place equipped with old staff and furniture trying to let you go back with time hundred years ago. Service is good and fast and staff are friendly. The place inside a big church. Food quality is under average but atmosphere is good. Convenient for couples, friends and businesses but not suitable for families and kids. Car parking is not available in the location

it was such a lovely experience! I tried the Egg Mushroom and the Halloumi Cheese dishes — both were super tasty and satisfying. The place has a nice vibe, especially in the morning. ⚠️*It was a bit hot and there were some flies*⚠️ The mixed berries & hibiscus drink was incredibly refreshing — definitely a must-try!💙 If you’re visiting, I highly recommend going for breakfast and trying that drink!

Wonderful, its located inside of the all saints church , vibes were so exciting, the place itself gets a bit crowded in the weekends but you’ll find a place nonetheless, it has outdoor and indoor areas both with different types of seating, staff is helpful, welcoming and very friendly yet very professional at what they do. Food was exceptional and the cheese quality was top notch , drinks are fine. Like the Arkan branch here also offers live music. Worth a try even if its just for the aesthetics

A traditional, clean restaurant with polite and attentive service. I visited twice during my 2-day stay. Tried the hummus with pickled lemon, ruccola salad, falafel, and pigeon rice—all excellent and made with quality ingredients. The hummus and falafel, in particular, were outstanding.

This was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. We came as a group with foreign guests, and it turned into a complete embarrassment. The food was disgusting — tasteless, ugly, and served in ridiculously tiny portions that were outrageously overpriced. To make it worse, half of us ended up with food poisoning afterward. The service was just as bad: the staff were rude and inflexible, even disrespectful to one of our important guests. The atmosphere and decorations are nothing special, just average, and definitely not enough to make up for the horrible food and service. We strongly advise everyone — Egyptians or foreigners — to avoid this place completely.

SAIGON RESTAURANT & LOUNGE at Fairmont Nile City offers stunning panoramic views of Cairo and the Nile, with a backdrop of the Pyramids. The restaurant boasts an elegant Art Deco interior and serves delectable pan-Asian cuisine along with expertly crafted cocktails.
Over all experience was excellent, we had the Beijing ducks and pad Thai for main course and they were both so good May be the only enhancement I would suggest if the hotel would offer to roll the ducks in the pancakes for you and would offer grounded peanuts. Nigiri and sushi specialty were top notch too! Coconut mango cake for dessert exceeded our expectations and was better than the avocado ice cream.

Dining at Saigon was one of the true highlights of our stay at the Fairmont Nile City. From the very first moment, the atmosphere struck a perfect balance between elegance and comfort. A place where every detail, from lighting to music, creates a sense of calm sophistication. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Melve, who once again set the standard for what exceptional service truly means. Her warmth, attentiveness, and effortless grace turned dinner into an experience that felt both personal and refined. The way she anticipates guests’ needs with quiet precision is something rarely found, even in the finest restaurants around the world. The food itself was outstanding. Each dish beautifully presented and full of vibrant, balanced flavors. From the first bite to the last, it was clear that the kitchen team takes immense pride in their craft. Our compliments to the chefs for creating such an extraordinary culinary experience. And then, the dessert - simply perfect. A sweet finale that captured the same harmony of flavor and artistry that defines the entire restaurant. Saigon is not just a place to dine; it’s a place to linger, to enjoy, and to be reminded how genuine hospitality and great food can turn an evening into a memory. Our sincere thanks to Mrs. Melve and the entire Saigon team for a truly wonderful evening. We can’t wait to return.

The place is amazing, high quality ingredients are used and the chef knows how to use them well! Tried the prawns gyoza and it was spectacular. The Philadelphia roll is exceptional as the salmon was very fresh. Also the Norwegian salmon plate was well-marinated and I liked it a lot. Ordered salmon, tuna and octopus sashimi; the tuna was very good but the others were average. Glass noodles tasted good but was a bit sticky. Didn’t like the dynamite roll that much, but generally fried sushi is not my cup of tea. The highlight of the table was the avocado dessert! I’m speechless about that plate! The mix of ingredients, freshness, tastiness is unbelievable! A mustttttt.. I wish I could have tried the Peking duck but it wasn’t available, would have preferred to be informed about this upon booking, as by default all items on the menu should be available, especially a signature one. However, the service is exceptional, they care a lot and are observative about your needs before asking, thanks Maged! Book before you go, and if you want a table on the view mention it, but they moved us once it became available. Price was 5.7k for two persons, you can easily spend less/more depending on the plates you are choosing.

I had the pleasure of dining at Bab El-Sharq inside The Nile Ritz-Carlton, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food is absolutely delicious — full of authentic flavors and beautifully presented. Everything from the fresh mezze to the main dishes was prepared with great care, and you can really taste the quality. It’s not just a meal, it’s a cultural experience! The service was also excellent — attentive, welcoming, and professional throughout the evening. If you’re staying at the hotel (or even if you’re not), I highly recommend Bab El-Sharq for both the amazing food and the unique entertainment. And my waiter recommended an excellent glass of red Egyptian wine which paired very well. Overall, an excellent experience, meal, and set the tone for the rest of my trip! Would definitely return!

The only good thing about this place was the atmosphere, everything else is not worth the money. Starting with how horrible the customer service is at this restaurant. I would have imagined that a restaurant at a prestigious hotel like the ritz Carlton would aim to provide a service that went above and beyond but that is far far from the case. The waiters don’t seem to care to provide good customer service. I had to flag the waiter to just put my order in because they had forgotten about us, and it wasn’t because they were busy he was just on his cell phone. Then, when I told the server to come back to take my drink order he never came back. Appetizers came and I had nothing to eat my meal with. The server was no where to be found. We wanted to make an order for a main meal and again no server. Eventually I had to ask for the manager to come and help out which they sent the assistant manager. It did help get things going a bit but by this point I was already upset. They gave us a dessert, without asking if we wanted one, as a way to make things better but honestly by this point I just wanted to go back to my room to sleep. I would say considering the amount of money we spent the food was just okay. Again, I imagined better. The only thing this place has going for it is the evening shows and entertainment, but once the bad service and mid food comes in you’ll likely start to forget about it. Not sure I would come back.

Fantastic Revolving Restaurant First of all the whole experience is superb, they deliver more than promised. The main point of seeing 360° of the Nile worth every penny! The service is top class and it's not some soulless service that is looking for a tip, they cared about how the food was and what we needed to make our last night in Egypt the best one! As said, the price is what they promised, we spent €80 for two people without alcohol (they don't sell it) which of course was the most we paid here but the food was soo tasty that we loved it. Special mention to Mohamed Adel for the fantastic service 👏👏

Dinner With a View AND a Vibe! Eating at the revolving restaurant was such a unique and unforgettable experience. It’s not just a meal—it’s a full-on event. The 360-degree view while dining is absolutely stunning. Watching the city slowly rotate around you while enjoying your food? Unreal. Perfect for dates, celebrations, or just treating yourself. The food matched the views—high quality, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. From appetizers to dessert, everything felt premium. The menu had great variety too, so there’s something for everyone, whether you’re into meats, seafood, or veggie dishes. Service was top-notch. The staff was friendly, professional, and really added to the upscale feel without being snobby or cold. We never felt rushed, and they were super attentive with drink refills and checking in. It’s was an unforgettable experience, with extravagant views and food, the rotating dining hall is creative and fun, could have made so many interesting videos. The middle part of the building which includes open kitchen, elevators and simple bathroom(unexpectedly low-key, not match the environment actually) are fixed while the well decorated hallway and the dinner table are continuously circling but the edge of it including the glass and a small space between it are fixed too. The speed is very slow barely perceptible. So most of the time I just felt we were static because of illusion. We ordered two four course meals and it’s was more than abundant, the portion of the appetizers was bigger than I expected, plus the delicious little bit sweets of bread, I was almost full after it cause I was addicted to the bread! (I cannot believe that in the end the bread was the most delicious part🤣🤣🤣.) The soup were smaller portions and they put the solid part first and then the liquid part in front of you. It was funny but cute. When the two parts were not cooked together means the soul of the meal was separated. Furthermore the lamb shank was also giant with juicy sauce and milky mashed potatoes. But I could feel the slightly special smell of the lamp which I mind but most people don’t. I expected it to be seasoned better and stewed more thoroughly, in order to cover the smell. The sand&sea include shrimps beef which my company really enjoyed but I considered normal, and some vegetables to keep it look various and healthy. They deserts were so normal for me just like any other stores probably because we were already bloated in the end, kind of too heave after such a feast, so maybe we should have ordered some ice-cream or fruits if they provide. Overall, most of the time we had very good time with correspondingly high quality of service and attentive staff. However I don’t really understand about the bill except extra service fee and taxes not included in the menu, seems they charge a bit more than I should pay. It was 4373 pounds 89.42 dollars according to the rate of the day. But they directly charged 94.46. In whatever case they should explain or notify the difference while it was not a big deal. But seems they chose to do it hiddenly. Decency and honesty were so fundamental but still lacked in this high level occasion.

Hello, We ordered a 4-course menu. My main course was a beef steak, but unfortunately, it was served cold! The waiter, of course, acknowledged the issue and had it reheated. However, the dessert was moldy! (See photos!) So, out of four courses, two were disappointing. I was very impressed by the restaurant, the waiter, and the staff’s behavior—very nice and extremely friendly. But unfortunately, the food was not up to standard! Especially for a Hilton hotel, I expected better.

The revolving restaurant offers a unique experience, slowly turning to provide breathtaking 360-degree views. It completes a full rotation in about 1.5 hours, making for a captivating dining experience. While the food is average and doesn’t quite stand out, the stunning views make it a worthwhile visit. Perfect for those who want to enjoy a meal with a spectacular backdrop. To dine here, you’ll need to book one of the designated time slots, and be aware that there’s a dress code—dresses are required for ladies.

Nestled just off 26th July Street, O's Pasta is a charming Italian eatery that embodies the essence of home-cooked meals. This cozy spot may be easy to overlook, but it’s worth seeking out for its impressive selection of around 20 pasta dishes. From Southeast Asian-inspired flavors to delightful Red Sea seafood options, every dish is crafted with fresh, homemade pasta and sauces prepared right before your eyes.
My go-to place for a nice, cozy hangout with friends. Prices are reasonable considering there’s no service added. Would highly recommend the Scampioni & White Summer Garden pasta!
Rawan A — Google review
This is my first time going there, I’ve always heard about O’s pasta and thought it was overrated but when I tried it I felt like it was ok, it is a bit overhyped in my opinion. It tasted okay but something about it just wasn’t right to me. I couldn’t really put my finger on it but it’s something with the essence of the pasta that I did not like, however, I’m assuming it was a bit oily for my liking. We ordered Sun-kissed Cream Pasta and Pasta Limone, both with chicken. Both had the same taste, they were both average to me honestly and I feel like I could have better pasta somewhere else. On the other hand, my friend really loved it and she has been there multiple times already. I’ve always heard mixed reviews about the place, so it pretty much depends on your taste in food. It’s one of those places that you have to try and make up your own mind about it. I’d love to note that, the staff were super nice and polite! They were super nice and had this welcoming energy with their smiles!

The place is so cozy and small, even though it would be considered a con for some people but it feels like home there. Food is always served hot and nicely made! I love their rosemary pasta and Alfredo pasta so much The waiters and chefs are very friendly and polite, always greeting you with a warm smile Overall a 4/5 experience :)

Arrived there with no reservation but luckily we managed to find a table, the waiter tried to explain to us the pastas and sauces and when we ordered scampioni he said it has no sauce, but when we got it there was sauce it was just more of a lighter sauce with no cream so maybe they need a more thorough understanding of the pastas? He didn't ask also which type of pasta would we like. we ordered scampioni pasta and mushroom white sauce pasta, the scampioni pasta was to die for. Very light and fresh, the place was buzzing with people and the atmosphere was really nice, the portions are huge. The caprese salad was VERY bland though, and we had to take the rest home, the waiter just left it on the front counter without even mentioning that this bag was ours, i stood there waiting for anything until i asked and he just nodded which was very odd, other than that great food, okay service and decent experience.

I have been going to O’s for eight years now and the quality has remained the same… Fresh, flavorful and delicious! I make sure to stop by for a plate of my favorite, the sun kissed cream pasta, whenever I’m back in Cairo :)

THE BEST PASTA I HAVE TASTED EVER! i have been going to this place since 2018 it’s my one and only destination when am really craving pasta. I highly recommend the SIX and Pasta Limone when it comes to white sauce chicken options

+ Food and atmosphere were excellent + Friendly staff + Exceptional service time (food was served fresh and hot within 10 minutes) + We ordered a Shrimp Olé, a Sun Kissed Cream Pasta ana a Shrimp La Vie En Rose, all of which were rich and unique + The parmesan cup was a nice touch Note: The mushroom soup was good but it's not a creamy mushroom soup. It's really different. Another note: Shrimp Olé is typically served with garlic slices. If you want it minced just let the waiter know.

I like the taste, but I think they should put more shrimp for the order .. I ordered La Vie en Rose , if there was enough shrimp compare with the price I will give it 5/5

Nairu is a Pan-Asian restaurant located on the First Nile Boat at the Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence. It offers a mix of Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and Indian cuisine in an elegant setting with a sushi bar and robatayaki grill station. Guests can enjoy panoramic views of the Nile while savoring exotic Asian dishes. The restaurant also features an open-air pizzeria and bar serving brick-oven pizzas and cocktails.
A superb restaurant, located at the second floor in the new Four Seasons boat at the Nile.. The whole experience was awesome, starting from the superior Nile view, going through the very delicious food and topped by the excellent service! The Mongolian beef is definitely the most delicious but other dishes were so good too. We were celebrating a friend's birthday where they also prepared a special cake labeled with our friend's name and the cake was very good! I strongly recommend not to miss dining there, it is going to be an evening to remember and enjoy.
Rafik S — Google review
The restaurant has some positives but also room for improvement. While the ingredients used in the dishes are high quality, the food itself was quite average and didn’t fully meet my expectations. Indian food was much better than the Thai food. The service was good, but considering it’s managed by Four Seasons, I anticipated a higher level of quality of service. One major drawback is that the restaurant isn’t stroller-friendly, which made it challenging to navigate with our kids.

Very underrated. The food was delicious quantities were good and the prices were suitable. Highly recommend it We ordered the bao buns & corn robatayaki for starters. And we got the Mongolian beef & coriander chicken, they both come with steamed rice but we ordered noodles & fried rice with them.

Let me talk about professionalism and hospitality. I visited Bab el Nile twice the first one was around 2019 and the second visit was in July 2024. On the second visit, we ordered chicken liver with pomegranate sauce, a Mix grill, Fatoush salad, and Egyptian Fattah with Moza meat. All the food was delicious and amazing except the rice of the fattah was very bad and wasn't up to the level. The responsible asked us about our opinion and I shared honestly my comment with him about the rice. For them, they took it seriously and acted professionally and they gave us a saffron cake as a compliment to apologize for the low quality of the rice. The saffron cake was amazing and delicious without extra sweetness. For what happened I still recommend this restaurant, especially since the view is very good and the vibes are amazing and cozy. All the personnel working there are friendly and professional. Thank you for your service, kindness, and professionalism.

We had a 10/10 experience at this restaurant! Our waiter, Taher, went above and beyond for me and ensured my nut allergy was well looked after. He even called the chef (Alaa) and manger (Adel) over for me. Thank you to Taher, Alaa and Adel for your incredible service and for taking such great care of me. The food, entertainment and service was top notch - they even brought me a sealed, new blanket because they heard me say I was cold. We had such a fun night and will definitely be back. Pier88 Nile River is a high-end restaurant known for its Italian cuisine and cocktails, offering stunning views of the Nile River. The restaurant is famous for its flamboyant events, such as their upcoming Valentine's Day mingle, where guests are grouped based on a questionnaire and can enjoy games and mingling activities. Situated on the top deck of a boat, Pier88 offers modern interiors with tall glass windows, creating a luxurious dining experience.
We were told that we would be having lunch by the Nile, but we had no idea of how amazing it would be. The entrance is reached a series of gangways, ramps and steps. A little bit awkward for those with mobility issues, but certainly not insurmountable. Once inside, we were astonished at the decor, which was very upmarket, one of the best we had seen in Egypt. Apart from the sumptuous decorations, it was pure white cotton tablecloths & napkins, with silver service cutlery. The food was impressive, lots of choice, very well presented, a good mixture of cuisine, and lots of it. They were slightly slow at topping up some items, but I think that was because they had a few customers than they expected, and were having to cook up some additional food. We had an all inclusive package for the food, so could eat as much as we liked; but drinks including water were extra. However, a large glass of wine and a bottle of beer was less than £4 each, so I didn't consider it too expensive. The view was really good, looking at various boats moving about the river. The service was good, and they were very attentive. Really could not fault it in any way. Not at all what we expected, a really nice addition to the trip to Cairo.

Pier 88 is so amazing that we made dinner reservations two nights in a row!! The food and the ambiance is incredible!! The filet had the depth of smoke that one can only dream of. The risotto was so creamy and tender, it was so good that it was to die for. The calamari was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of seasoning. The atmosphere is amazing and it makes it so easy for you to get comfortable and caught up in it. Spicy meatballs were probably the best I’ve ever had. The ravioli were absolutely beautiful. Our server George and Mena were great, keeping perfect timing and a perfect table for us… if you have not been to Pier 88 in Cairo, it is hands down an absolute must go place for the best food in Egypt!

The venue features both indoor and outdoor seating, with the brick-lined courtyard providing a secluded and pleasant space reminiscent of an artsy vintage house.
What a great spot! Choose between sitting in the courtyard or outside. Either is great although if the weather is good, sit outside. Every dish was tasty and well presented. Service was efficient and quick. In an area dominated by fast food options, this place stands out from the rest. Highly recommended for a delicious meal.

Had dinner here last night. After taking my order, the waiter didn’t even print out the ticket. By the time I finished all my food, the guava juice I ordered earlier still hadn’t arrived. The Japanese couple at the next table waited for almost an hour and still didn’t get their food, completely forgotten. If the staff don’t have a good memory, please just use pen and paper to jot things down 😅 🍗 Shish Taouk – The grilled chicken skewers were fragrant, flavorful, and tender. But only two small sticks, served with fries and rice (you can choose two sides). 🍝 Chicken Alfredo – Rich, creamy, and cheesy. Big portion and really tasty! 🤤 Perfect comfort food on a windy day. 🥙 Hawawshi – Crispy on the outside, packed with juicy minced beef inside. Very satisfying.

Very tasty dishes and fairly priced. The mozzarella stick / samosa / chicken share starter was superb and loved the minced beef samosa. Had mossaka minced beef and was super tomatoey and flavoursome. The waiters were friendly and dunno why others noted otherwise - just be polite and respectful to them. Only annoyance are 1-2 flies in the outdoor area. Highly recommended

The service is fast, and the food is absolutely delicious — it feels like prices from the good old days! The staff are incredibly friendly and respectful, always welcoming with a smile. I’ve gotten used to eating here every day for all my meals. Breakfast and lunch are both great, with very reasonable prices, especially considering it’s located in a tourist area in Downtown Cairo. What makes the place even more special is the beautiful touch of nostalgia — the background music is filled with authentic oriental melodies that instantly transport you to the charm of old Egypt. It’s more than just a restaurant; it’s a place of memories, warmth, and timeless Egyptian spirit. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for good food, kind people, and an atmosphere that truly feels like home. 🌿✨

Nestled along the picturesque Nile Corniche, Sabaya by the Nile is a delightful Lebanese restaurant that brings the rich flavors of Lebanese cuisine to Cairo. Located within the InterContinental Cairo Semiramis, this dining gem offers an extensive menu featuring not only beloved Lebanese dishes but also popular Egyptian fare and a selection of European and Asian options to cater to diverse palates.
The Nile Terrace is a magnificent restaurant inside the IHG Intercontinental Semiramis. We had a great time dining here last night. And the views from this terrace restaurant sitting next to the hotel swimming pool are perfect! The DJ played the best songs too - very upbeat and feel-good stuff. The food tasted superb, especially the Om Ali!

The food was tasteless and not fresh. Batata harra normally should have spices and minced parsley on it. It had no spices and was just fried potato cubes. Shish tawook was dry and not seasoned. The bread was egyptian balady bread ( should be lebanese bread as this is supposed to be a lebanese restaurant) and was not fresh, it was microwaved and they admitted to it and changed it. The view is great and the place has so much potential. Such a shame the food was so bad. I am giving this review 2 stars only because of the nice staff who insisted on removing the shish tawook from the bill.

Every dish we tried was fresh and thoughtfully prepared, making it a memorable culinary journey. A special thank you to Mr. Ahmed Salah, whose kind service and genuinely friendly attitude made our visit even more enjoyable. Lovely location to eat delicious local food. Ahmed and his colleagues were very attentive and helped to make this our favourite place in the hotel to relax. The food was excellent and it was nice to be able to finish off a meal with a shisha while watching the River Nile glide by.

The location of this restaurant is undeniably beautiful, with great views of the Nile and the Cairo Tower. I really wish the experience had matched the scenery. Unfortunately, the food, drinks, and overall service were incredibly disappointing. It took an unreasonably long time just for someone to take our order, and an even longer wait for our drinks to arrive. When they finally did, the drinks were flavorless, especially the alcoholic ones. Our food order arrived incorrect, and what we did receive was bland and definitely overpriced for the quality. What made things even worse was the attitude from the staff. They came across as rude and seemed annoyed that I, a foreigner, was dining with local friends. It made my friends uncomfortable and really put a damper on the evening. This was genuinely the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. The view may be nice, but nothing else is worth it.

Expensive, as you should imagine, restaurant. The images of the menu are really old, now it's that price multiplied 6 times. Beautiful sight of the Nile. Huge tv screen that if you are not watching it bothers. And the food ok. Small portion. We only had beetroot hummus and okra, as there are only a few cold mezze vegan options.

Amazing views but not a great place to have dinner. The photos online looked liked a full-on prepared restaurant, however when we got there it was more like a swimming pool restaurant. U Bistro & Bar is a stylish and sophisticated establishment located on 26th July Street in Zamalek. Despite its unassuming exterior, the interior offers multiple areas with different ambiances, exuding chic sophistication and trendy elegance. This venue has replaced the beloved La Bodega and has managed to maintain the nostalgic sophistication of its predecessor while carving out its own identity. The European kitchen menu is considered one of the finest outside of Cairo's grand hotels.
U bistro & bar - a diamond hidden in the heart of Cairo. Entering the bistro, you find yourself in the atmosphere of colonial Egypt. Subdued lighting and stylish interior add a special ambience. Haute cuisine with a view of the majestic Nile. Large menu and excellent cocktail list. I would especially like to note the foie gras and sour whiskey. Friendly and attentive staff.

The place vibes and decor is really nice. Very elegant and clean with amazing view. Food is as expected in a decent restaurant , good taste and good quality. However very limited menu selection and prices are at the higher average. Service was the disappointment. One waiter for the whole place, no professional hospitality service that u would expect with such vibes and orders came missing items beside stuff members walking around in casual outfits that would cause confusion. Overall it is a place with great potential but management needs to revisit its vision and process

Well... ! U Bistro is kind of one of the expensive dine-outs "European Prices" spots in Cairo. During my stay I'd say one of the best 10 places i have eaten at in Cairo. The place has its own vibe the wine is great, they have indoor smoking too and they have their own bar for drinkes or tables for a proper meal. Booking in advance is recommended. The view is good the decorations and music all good.... Its a great place if you're hanging out in a date. Their service is great overall, Professional. No fussing with clients. They're presentable and decent people. I recommend that place for a proper dinner out for 2 or a small group of 4 people

Upmarket restaurant with a dress code. Great service and tasty menu at a price. We were the only guests when we arrived unknowing of the dresscode. My husband wore shorts and we were both wearing tshirts. It could be our ignorance for not checking the standards but we were the only guests, of course it would be bad business to turn us away. Albeit we were hidden away from all roving eyes. The good thing about being furthest away from everyone else is that we were not bothered by smoke, ashtrays are on every table. Great quality food with a pricetag to boot. As nondrinkers we were surprised to be given a bill for the equivalent of $75 USD. Can't complain the service was excellent and the food was great. They charged us a cover charge, service charge of 12% and a VAT of 14%. It all adds up. As service charge is included we didn't tip. Is this normal?

I didn’t like this restaurant at all. It’s a waste of time and money. For what you get the food is pricey and standard. That comes on top of the $8 for cover. That much money buys you a suite à the Ritz in Egypt. Avoid. Not to mentionned the gangs doing organized racketeering for parking outside.

This place is dope — the music is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is full of energy. They do have quite a few rules to enter, which can feel a bit much at first, but once you’re inside, it’s totally worth it. Definitely a spot you should come check out and enjoy if you’re in the area!

Cairo Jazz Club has an electric atmosphere and great music — it’s definitely one of the liveliest spots in Cairo for a night out. The DJs and live bands bring serious energy, and the crowd is usually fun and diverse. Drinks are decent, and the space feels intimate without being too cramped. However, one major downside to my experience was dealing with a bouncer who was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. It really put a damper on the night — it’s one thing to enforce the rules, but the attitude felt uncalled for and completely out of sync with the otherwise welcoming vibe inside. I’d still recommend going, especially for the music, but be prepared for a mixed experience at the door.

I thbk its a cool place in cairo for hippies i mean ofc for all but i could find most hippies there which I liked. Its for sure overpriced but that ensures safety and the drinks are meh haven’t tried food. Overall cool and nice music.
Maria W — Google review
We never seen the color of that club due to the bouncer who is an absolute joke. Never seen a such an unpleasant, nonchalant and ungrateful person with foreigners wishing to come to the club. We went twice with reservation and both find a pretext to not let us enter. One tip: escape that club who is considered by the bouncer as a luxury too of the range club Europe club, avoiding foreigners to enter by ego

I love the vibes of this place, It’s a bit on the pricey side, but totally worth it for the amazing service. Huge shoutout to Kareem for his warm welcome and friendly attitude, he really made the experience even better.

Mori Sushi - Al Gabalayah has been a trailblazer in Egypt's sushi landscape since its inception in 2006, quickly establishing itself as a leader with thirteen locations, including seasonal and grill menu options. This vibrant eatery brings a fresh twist to Japanese cuisine, combining international standards with innovative dining experiences. Guests can indulge in an array of vegetarian and vegan offerings like the Mori Vegetable Combo or Ura Maki filled with avocado and dried tomatoes.
Its been several time that we come and we are never disappointed. The bonbon is a super appetiser. The salmon poke bowl is always delicious and the combos are very appealing. We trying this new dessert ice cream cheesecake and love it. Mohamed was our waiter and he was very helpful and polite, and giving good advices. We really felt like VVIPs !

I have been always a loyal customer to Mori Sushi, but it's been a while since I last tried it and I never been to this particular branch before. I got the 40 pieces menu which you had a bunch of rolls to choose from. The price of this menu is very decent, hence it's popularity. To be honest, I left disappointed, the quality of the fish definitely deteriorated over the years, and most of the fried rolls just kind of tasted the same really. You couldn't tell what were they made of. I can't say anymore than Mori Sushi is my favorite, especially with so much competition with other restaurants.
Loay — Google review
Worst ramen i've ever tasted in my life, the noodles tastes like egyptian boiled maccaroni, and the soup is just tastless water. Seriously regreted every pound🤢. Sushi is not bad, better than other mediocre places.but i'd rather put a little more money and spend it on a real sushi experience.
Yara S — Google review
Cozy little place with a huge waiting list in rush hours. Comfortable setting with good hygiene. I love the new plates, bright colour showing off the great colours of the roll, it might take a while to prepare your order but trust me the quality worth the waiting. Go on mondays and Tuesdays for more mori sushi menu with better prices yet not so limited options.

Pizza restaurant
Olivo Pizzeria & Bar in Zamalek is a cozy and intimate spot perfect for a romantic night out or a couples' dinner. Despite its small size, the pizzeria offers excellent service and delicious pizza. The place is known for its sumptuous Sangria cocktails that set the mood for a lovely evening. If you're an adventurous foodie, Olivo offers an authentic Italian culinary experience with mouthwatering pizzas crafted amid a classy ambience.
Cozy vibes and excellent service. Their pizzas are so good too and are always fresh and full of flavor. They don’t have cocktails on the menu, but they can make a few of them upon request.
Noha D — Google review
Olivo is a small Pizza & Bar which I discovered years ago. It’s next to two hotels in the disttict Zamalek of Cairo. Olivo has two spaces, a dimly lighted indoor space with bar, high tables and chairs sitting and an outdoor space with an outdoor bar, a long bench & chairs. The menu have small plates, salads, pizzas, cakes and dessert options. There is also a wide selection of alcoholic beverages besides soft drinks. I usually prefer to order pizza and salad and I can attest that they are really successful with pizza. At the first bite you will instantly taste that quality and tasty ingredients are used at Olivo. The taste of the salad could be enhance by using a more delicious x-tra virgin olive oil. My favorite pizza is '4 Stagioni' with mozzarella, olives, mushroom, artichokes, smoked turkey and olives, which I remove because personally I prefer olives soaked in olive oil to olives soaked in brine. Judging by the price segment and location next to hotels with international audience the service leaves much to be desired. Olivo did not leave the impression that customer dialogue, customer service and customer satisfaction were a priority. Yes, taste good, but is it done? I cannot say that there is the 'indispensable' customer communication which is common in the service sector. This approach is unfortunately not available at Olivo, which tells me personally a lot about Olivo's approach to its customers: Come-eat-pay-bye bye 👋🏻 The net prices are already in a higher price level, plus 14% taxes and 12% service, It is a small, cozy place aimed mainly at international travelers and hotel guests. With this awareness, I recommend that you make your choice pro or contra Olivo.
Şengül A — Google review
I recently visited Olivo in Zamalek while on a trip from London , and it truly exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere has that perfect balance of chic and cozy, making it an ideal spot whether you’re going for a casual evening or a special night out. What stood out most was the impeccable service. Ahmed, our waiter, was outstanding – warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable without being overbearing. He anticipated our needs, offered great recommendations, and made us feel welcome throughout. His professionalism and friendly attitude added so much to the overall experience, and you could tell he genuinely cares about guests enjoying their time.
Sherif E — Google review
This was not our first time at this nice little restaurant and we had the same great experience… the place specializes in pizza and they have perfected it … their pizza is thin and large enough for sharing … but I wouldn’t suggest that cause you will definitely want to keep every piece to yourself 😊

A beautiful open air pizzeria, hidden by tropical plants, with great local wines on the menu! Much enjoyed by this South African!
Seth D — Google review
Hands down the best pizza I’ve had in Cairo so far. Made fresh inside and you can watch the magic happen. Thin crust, good quality cheese, light tomato sauce that isn’t too acidic. Really great flavor combinations on the menu. Finding this place is a little hard bc it’s inside the entrance to the New President Hotel, and just past a sign for a French bakery. Seating indoor or outside. Indoor seating has a nice intimate feeling. Bar offers drinks specials including white, red and pink sangrias with fresh fruits. It’s always a good night for a tasty pizza and beverage. Thanks O.Liv.O!

Unfortunately i used to love this place and was looking forward to go today till the unfortunate unprofessional person that was there We entered Olivo at 4pm the security welcomed us and never mentioned that the place is closed the garden was empty and no one even noticed we were there had to call call the waiter. And here the shock started we said the place is closed for equipment maintenance we asked how come then he said this is how it is, we were still talking but he left us talking to our selves And went to get a huge ladder and started to do nonsense with the plantes then he removed the Cushions and water the plants while were still seated then he said can you move from here coz I’m working This person looked weird and definitely not sober unfortunately this happened in one of my favourite places in zamalek I will sure not visit again I have attached all the pictures to see the unprofessional attitude

Mezcal is an upscale lounge and restaurant located in Zamalek, offering a chill vibe and decadent Japanese-Peruvian cuisine. The restaurant has an elegant decor and is perfect for special occasions or a treat. The menu features dishes like miso black cod tacos, unagi foie gras tostadas, and exotic cocktails that showcase fusion food at its best. While the prices are higher compared to other establishments in Cairo, the experience is worth it.
Be prepared for an explosion of flavors in a charming and elegant atmosphere. The food here is excellent and so are the cocktails. I loved the beef tacos but literally everything we had was fantastic. The service was very attentive and the music was a little on the loud side.
Ken W — Google review
The fish that I tried was fruity, refreshing in hot weather. Very nice tasting, nothing overpowering. The service was amazing, waiters catered to our requests. Very dark, I guess the setting is supposed to be inconspicuous. Decor is brilliant and spacious. The culture of smoking is a problem for us, as people smoke indoors. Expect to pay around $40 per head.

Excellent spot for fine dining, they keep updating their menu and adding new dishes, I loved the Guacamole and ceviche! super fresh and tasty! The shrimp toastada was super good and the goat cheese beetroot salad was fresh and light.. Highly recommended for a relaxing weekend dinner!

Dishonest service and bad food: The waiters tried to scam us when paying the bill. We were a big group and when part of us wanted to leave, they just came and informed us the bill. The water came around the first time and asked me to pay 1,800. I told him to give me a receipt cause that sounds too high. He went and came back asking for 1,500, no bill. I asked for the menu again and calculated my own bill. It was 1,100 all inclusive. The waiter was trying to scam me out of an additional 700, almost 70% of my total bill. My friend got suspicious about the bill she paid and she was scammed out of 250, which they brought back after we told them. Extremely shady and dishonest behavior As for the food, it was mediocre at best. The beef slices were slightly overcooked (asked for medium but they were well done). The sides were nothing special. The gnocchi was half frozen half warm. Terrible
Dina E — Google review
We came here after reading good reviews. I ordered the moussaka which was still frozen inside. It was also quite expensive here compared to surrounding restaurants.
TEA: A — Google review
Was really looking forward to dining here and left disappointed. We came in mid afternoon and it was quiet (we were the only customers). Only having ordered 4 mezzo dishes, it took rather long for any dishes to come out. Food was very pricey relative to other restaurants and was very mediocre. Will say that owner was friendly though and had suggested beef liver which ended up being my favourite dish out of everything we ordered.
Leanne N — Google review
Had the night of our lives in l'Aubergine. Came here with a large group of 20+ people with no reservation, impressed that they managed to deal with all the orders so well! The food was really good, especially the aubergine mousakka and the pastas, reasonably priced too. They also serve alcohol if you're looking for that. Nobody was sick after the food which is a big plus compared to a lot of other restaurants we went to on our trip. By the end of the night the restaurant was a dance floor and the staff were dancing with us, such a funny experience!
Ailbhe R — Google review
So disappointing! The menu seems to be greatly reduced compared to the images online and the drink selection was very limited. Although the crepe was lovely I don’t appreciate being charged for a ‘cover’ I didn’t want and I really expected more vegetarian options. I might give it another go but not in a hurry.
Matthew S — Google review
Pros: nice virgin mojito Cons: - the food is subpar. Vegan burger was very dry and pretty bland, it really lacked some sauce - I asked for vegan pasta, they brought it with cheese, moreover, it wasn’t very tasty even after they had recooked it To crown it all, we were stunned to see that although the total price of our meal including drinks was around 700 EGP, they also added “cover” (40EGP), 12% service and 10% tax on top of that all, so the overall sum was 944EGP Keep that in mind

The Citadel Restaurant is a historic Islamic fortress built by Ayyubid ruler Salah al-Din in the 12th century to defend Cairo from crusaders. Over the centuries, it served as the seat of power for Egypt and boasts impressive architectural features such as the Ayyubid walls and Youssef Well. The iconic Muhammad Ali Mosque, reflecting Ottoman influence, overlooks Cairo from within the citadel.
Went there with some friends after visiting the park. There’s a stunning view of the greenery. Food is good, but nothing exceptional. Good to hang out after a long day exploring.
Pau M — Google review
The place is known for its quite upscale scenery, a peaceful park with lots of greens and grass, a good place to chill and enjoy the sunset. A group of us had dinner here, and tried several dishes. They were quite decent, not the best, but not bad either. The BBQ plate was quite well done, starter set was a nice variety of appetizers - we particularly liked the yogurt cream dip, the desserts were too sweet, but I guess that’s local’s preference. Staff were friendly, and we didn’t wait too long like others mentioned.
Jelly B — Google review
Have been to the restaurants at Azhar Park before and typically you do this just for the views and the atmosphere. If you go in expecting high quality food, you will be disappointed; if you go expecting a nice vibe with a step above okay food, you’ll have a great time. That said, our favorite item was the Tabbouleh, it was objectively good. The chicken dish was bland, the meat and hummus was alright. As for the service, they took a long time to take our orders, and get us the bill. I noticed we had asked our waiter for the bill, waited over ten to fifteen minutes, while the table next to us, openly speaking in English (I assume) non-Muslim foreigners (where as my group were also foreigners, all of us speaking English, but one was a niqabi and two were hijabis so I imagine they assumed we were Arab), were immediately given good service and given the bill by the waiter. It could be a mistake, the servers could be overworked, or it can be a continuation of a pattern that views seeming westerners and easterners differently. Regardless, we had a nice time relaxing and the view was wonderful.

This is a restaurant inside the Hilton Ramses. We found the food to be good here. The portions are large and plentiful to get you full. I would recommend the salmon along with the vegetables. Our sever was attentive and friendly. I would recommend this place.
Julio F — Google review
The location of this restaurant is fantastic and has beautiful views of the citadel and the park. We had tagines which were good but the moussaka was a bit disappointing. The service was also rather slow - for somewhere with higher prices (relative for Egypt) we would expect better.
Georgina W — Google review
By far the worst service and food I had on my trip. The servers were dismissive every time I asked for something and it took forever to get our water, then appetizers, then food. The pita was stale. The chicken was dry. There was even a hair in my food. Don’t waste your time! Although the view is amazing and the park is lovely. You’re better off packing a picnic

The dining experience at Al-Qalaa Restaurant in Al-Azhar Park was truly exceptional. Firstly, the food surpassed all expectations with its exquisite taste and quality. From the savory main courses to the delightful desserts, every dish was expertly prepared and left a lasting impression on our taste buds. Furthermore, the staff exhibited a high level of professionalism and were incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout our visit. Their attentive service enhanced our dining experience and made us feel welcomed and valued as guests. The highlight of our meal, however, was undoubtedly the breathtaking view of the Saladin Citadel. The restaurant's strategic location offered a panoramic vista of this iconic historical landmark, creating a truly memorable backdrop for our dining experience. The combination of delicious food, exceptional service, and stunning scenery made our visit to Al-Qalaa Restaurant an unforgettable one.
