Heritage building
BrijRama Palace, Varanasi - By the Ganges is a heritage hotel located near the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. This 18th-century palace offers opulent accommodations with air-conditioned rooms, private bathrooms, complimentary yoga sessions, and two dining options. Overlooking the Ganges, it provides exemplary amenities including a rooftop terrace and spa services such as massages and facials. The resort's historical theme in rajas-maharajas style attracts tourists seeking an extravagant experience.
Left Brij Rama knowing it would hold a special place in our hearts... because 1. Most genuine and helpful hotel staff, who goes beyond the extra miles. From those managing our luggage on arrival and departure, drivers, front desk, restaurant team, the head chef, building engineer and the list goes on. They r the star of brijrama honestly! 2. Special mention to Rudresh, Sanjana and Imran for whtv we needed help with n making us feel extra special. What a privileged it was. **RUDRESH we sincerely thank you for extending us warmth of family rather than guest** 3. Brijrama Is not just a stay but a whole experience. The complimentary daily activities is a joy and created many beautiful take aways through tradition and culture. 3. The spectacular view and layout brings out the best of the heritage palace. Amazing lighting, music, furnishings and deco. 4. It may be a ancient palace but the rooms r refurbished with touch of mordern technology, u would be pleasantly surprised. 5. Food was top class! Even the simplest meal is prepared to taste world class. We really enjoyed every meal, from breakfast to dinner! compliments to the chef! We visited during monsoon season. yes boat services wasnt available, ganges ghat weren't visible but it didnt spoil anything for us. The staff took precious care of us to ensure we n our bags dont get wet. Was a humbling experience. Only area to improve, would be the inhouse saree boutique, service and products r quite frankly awful. Thanks for hosting us! Till we meet again.

I went to Varanasi for a trip and I stayed at this hotel. The service and food is spectacular and the greetings are great. But I have some complaints, Firstly it is very overpriced, 10,000₹ for a massage??? As is the room and food. Also the rooms look absolutely nothing like the picture. In the pictures it shows a grand palace with rooms that make you feel like you're in heaven but it is just average.
Madhui K — Google review
The BrijRama Palace in Varanasi offers a truly memorable experience, combining heritage, luxury, and impeccable hospitality right on the banks of the sacred Ganges. The palace’s architecture and decor are impressive, steeped in Maratha-era elegance, while the rooms are beautifully furnished—many with sweeping river views and touches of Banarasi silk. Location and AmbienceThe location is perfect for exploring Varanasi, just steps away from Dashashwamedh Ghat and other historic sites. The vibrant ambiance, filled with traditional music, dance, and activities like henna and pottery, immerses guests in the city’s rich culture.Food and ServiceThe food was delicious, especially chef specialties like Gulab Jamun and the set Thali menu. High tea and breakfast on the terrace with serene river views are delightful. The staff is extremely attentive, going above and beyond for guests—whether providing wheelchair assistance, helping families with young children, or offering personalized culinary experiences. Amenities and Activities Rooms are air-conditioned with all premium amenities: tea/coffee makers, Wi-Fi, and luxurious bathrooms. The spa is excellent for relaxation, and guests enjoy complimentary boat rides, traditional performances, yoga, and wellness services throughout their stay.Overall ExperienceStaying at BrijRama Palace is like traveling back in time with royal comfort and warmth. The combination of culture, location, service, and luxury makes it one of the best choices for anyone looking to experience the spiritual essence and history of Varanasi in unmatched style.

This is a beautiful heritage property which is a palace converted into a hotel situated literally on the ghats. The Maharaja built the Darbhanga Ghat on which the hotel is built. This is a great location because the Ganga Arti and Kashi Vishwanath Mandir are walking distance. The staff is very polite, courteous and helpful. The activities (like yoga, dance, etc) within the hotel are added bonuses. We took the pickup and drop service (paid) from the airport as well as boat ride tour (also paid) and it was very helpful for us, the drivers and boat staff were also very courteous. The hotel is a great experience. Just one tip: do your homework (especially for darshan at temples and Ganga Arti) and understand the location before you land.

Visited Hotel BrijRama during a business trip. Stopped by for a cup of coffee and explored the rooms, though I didn’t stay overnight. The property has a beautiful heritage design and a peaceful ambience. Staff was polite and welcoming. A charming place worth considering for a full stay. You’re welcome.

While wandering around Varanasi, we walked into the hotel and had a coffee, which was very delicious. Then we moved to the main restaurant for lunch and ate there. Everything was truly tasty, and in the end, when they brought the bill, they told us that the coffee we had earlier was a complimentary treat. The hotel is located in a beautiful old building and in a really great area.

luxurious, history soaked, 5 star hotel, directly on the Ganges. Fine linens, above and beyond service..( special mention to the Concierge who managed to fetch a Dr. for me for a forgotten prescription, to our 2 very competent and warm Servers, Sourav Singh and Raphul.) a magical old Palace hotel, perfectly maintained, with all of the grace notes that make a fine hotel. Memorable.

Taj Nadesar Palace in Varanasi is a luxurious hotel with elegant rooms and suites offering stunning river views. The property boasts a rich legacy, unique and spacious suites, and exceptional hospitality from the staff. Managed by the Taj Group, this palace exudes grandeur and elegance, dating back to 1835. It is renowned as the ultimate choice for a royal experience in Varanasi.
Wow, what an amazing stay at the magical Taj Nadesar Palace! When we arrived we got a beautiful, traditional necklace and it was a very warm welcome. They were throwing fresh flowers all over us and we felt very special. The lady directly told me this palace for the next days was ‘our home away from home’, very well said if you ask me. I remembered bacause all the staff really felt like family during the short amount of time that we were there, wich was very unfortunate. I can only recommend this place. If you want to do the horse ride tour in the gardens it was really nice because the guy was very very sweet and he knew a lot of the history since his family worked there for generations long. Our stay was all about visiting the busy city Varanasi and coming home at a very peaceful and relaxing place. The whole property was covered with little white boxes which were playing really calming, relaxing music. Every morning at the breakfast there was a very nice lady playing an ancient instrument. The staff really felt like family since they were so true to themselves. The rooms were spectacular cause there was hanging lots of historical photographs on the big walls and we got many many sweets, fruits, nuts, desserts…At the end we even received a gift to remember our magical stay at the Taj Nadesar Palace, but this one I won’t spoil for you ;) Thank you so much again to all for this wonderful experience, and especially a very very big thanks to Navneet and Padmini !!! 🧡🤍💚

“Our stay at Taj Nadesar was simply unforgettable. Everything felt like true luxury — the beautiful rooms, spotless cleanliness, and the warm, courteous staff who made us feel so cared for. The food was the freshest and most authentic we’ve ever had, with Chefs Richik, Abhishek and Vikas, Subash taking care of all. From the quick and smooth check-in to the thoughtful service throughout, every detail was perfect. A genuine 5-star experience we’ll always treasure. Each and every caretaker person created luxury in his or her own way. Thanks Taj for the amazing experience!!

Rooms were nice, the suites are comfortable and spacious but regular room was slightly small, service and hospitality meets the Taj Standard, and the yoga class and gym provide a very good experience and are a good start to the day. Food could be improved.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Taj Palace Varanasi, and it was a truly memorable experience. What stood out the most was the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the moment I arrived, every interaction was warm, attentive, and thoughtful. The team went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and well looked after, creating a genuine sense of hospitality that is hard to find. The property itself is elegant and serene, offering the perfect balance between comfort and traditional charm. But it was really the people who made my stay so special — their professionalism, kindness, and personal touches turned my visit into something unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Varanasi. Thank you to the entire team at Taj Palace for making my stay so fabulous! Thanks to the entire team: Manya, Prachi, Vikas, Vivek, Vinod, Ganesh. Everyone

Very beautiful hotel with limited numbers of rooms. Food was delicious and service was excellent. I enjoyed my stay.

The property is palatial with an extense of landscaping that makes u feel like u r living with the nature and the hospitality is no less than what makes u the king of the palace. If u want to get soaked or i wud say drowned in pampering, this is the place to be. The property and the people there make u feel nothing short of Royalty. Special mentions to Miss Anuradha, Prachi and Shubham (I am surely missing quite some names though). The food adds to the Royalty even more. Do try the mouth watering Nimona.

Hotel Surya, Kaiser Palace in Varanasi Cantt is a heritage palace turned hotel that offers a tranquil escape from the bustling ghats of Varanasi. Originally built by King Kaiser of Nepal in 1818, it underwent renovations in 2005 to restore its former glory. The hotel features an outdoor pool, spa, restaurants, bar, and cafe on-site.
I don’t know where to start this review… Everything and everyone was amazing and I cannot thank them enough for the service they provide to us. We had a very late check in and they provided us some fantastic food. The room was big but welcoming and very very clean. The house keeper was very friendly and very professional. The reception staff were very helpful and professional and took care of everything that we needed! And the hotel restaurant… what an amazing food! With fair prices. The staff of the restaurant were very good! The hotel itself is a luxury, clean and well maintained place, but the cherry on top is the staff!

I stayed at Hotel Surya, Varanasi, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The rooms were clean, and comfortable, especially considering the price point, definitely great value for money. (Tip: book online for better deals.) The food taste was good, and we enjoyed our meals there. However, the breakfast buffet could be improved – it felt quite limited, with no fresh juice options and the coffee wasn’t up to the mark.

I like this Hotel I am impressed from this hotel. But this time when I visited OCTOBER 2025 I am little surprised from charges which I have paid over the counter for Bed Runner, which I haven't used at all and was kept over chair for whole stay. And while billing over counterI was asked to pay for bed runner 500/- as per them I have used badly ,but actually I haven't used and was kept over the chair only. Although I am happy with the Hotel service but little shock from such charges ,I haven't paid earlier these type of charges.

This is shown as a 3-star hotel but it’s far nicer than even some 4-star hotels I’ve stayed in while in India. Lovely hotel with a heritage feel, and beautiful grounds. The rooms are clean and well appointed, even with hair dryers. And the breakfast buffet is very good. We also celebrated Diwali here with dinner, which was excellent!
Jennifer F — Google review
I recently had a wonderful experience at Surya in Cantonment, Varanasi. This place is more than just a hotel — it feels like a home created with love. The moment you enter, you can feel the care, attention, and emotion that has been lovingly put into every corner — from the rooms to the garden. The property has a serene and refreshing environment with lots of trees, open spaces, and a beautiful garden full of birds, butterflies, and even bats at dusk — which makes the place feel alive with nature. It’s rare to find such a peaceful green atmosphere in the heart of the city. There is a spacious parking area, and the café here is cozy, relaxed, and perfect for spending time with friends or enjoying quiet moments. The food is light, healthy, and thoughtfully prepared — you can feel the purity in every bite. Foreign travelers from the US, UK, Europe, and many other countries also choose this hotel, which adds to its warm global atmosphere. Yet, what makes Surya truly special is the sense of sincerity and soulfulness that you feel throughout the place. A perfect destination for anyone seeking comfort, peace, nature, and a touch of luxury — all in one place. A place you don’t just stay in — you feel it. 🌿✨

Hotel Surya in Varanasi is an old property but well-maintained and clean. The rooms are spacious, and the overall ambience retains a classic charm. One of its main highlights is the large marriage halls, which are ideal for weddings and social gatherings. Despite its age, the hotel offers good service and comfortable accommodation. Suitable for family functions and stays near the city center.
Aman D — Google review
Rooms were poorly maintained. Staffs service is very very poor. They do not give a damn on your request. Food quality was good. With the same price, Marriott or Hyatt will be a better option! Suggestion: Avoid.

I have booked for two rooms for 1 night Rooms in ground floor was stinky and smelly, dusty rooms and beds. I would suggest to provide All Out for mosquitoes. I asked for few plates to room service one of the order taker denied. Vaishnavi was polite and very helpful to us she is very well known about hospitality.

Ramada Plaza by Wyndham JHV Varanasi is a luxurious hotel located in Varanasi, offering upscale accommodation with an outdoor pool, three restaurants, and two bars. Situated near the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Dasaswamedh ghat, this hotel provides easy access to popular attractions. Guests can enjoy various amenities including a health club, spa tub, complimentary WiFi, and concierge services.
Had a pleasant 2 night stay with my family. The rooms were aesthetic, neat & tidy, bathrooms well maintained & clean, and the breakfast buffet was delicious with a good variety. The overall hotel ambience is great and it doesn't seem like a 15+ year old property at all. The best part is the location; with such close proximity to Varanasi Jn., it hardly took me 10 mins. to reach by cab from PF9 exit. You also get transportation right from the gate itself to travel to major tourist attractions and ghats!
Bhrigu P — Google review
I had three rooms booked at this property in the month of July 2025. This has undoubtedly been my worst hotel experience to date. I generally have modest expectations when staying at a hotel, but this property significantly tarnished the Ramada brand for me—I’m unlikely to choose Ramada again after this stay. Right from check-in, the experience was unwelcoming. Instead of a warm greeting, I was presented with a list of strict rules—no outside food, no guests after 10pm, and more—making it feel more like checking into a hostel than a five-star hotel. The primary issue was the ongoing redevelopment (which the hotel refers to as "renovation") from the fourth floor upwards. The noise from hammering and drilling was relentless and extremely disruptive—I’ve even uploaded videos as evidence. Frankly, the hotel should not be open to guests during such major construction. When I complained and requested a refund so I could move to another hotel, the staff simply pointed to the small print on my booking, which mentioned the renovations, and refused to offer any compensation. I noticed other guests were also voicing similar complaints, but the staff seemed unconcerned. Additionally, the beds were infested with bed bugs, leaving us with bites all over our legs and bodies—something I’ve never encountered at a branded hotel. I have attached photos as proof. To make matters worse, there were cockroaches in the room’s coffee area. When I reported this to the staff, their only solution was to offer a room change in the middle of the night, which was not practical. This speaks volumes about the hotel’s hygiene standards. I requested to speak with a senior staff member, but was told he was unavailable due to meetings and sales calls outside the hotel, and he never followed up. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing on multiple levels.
Rahul B — Google review
The hotel and rooms are good, but the staff need serious training on how to treat guests. From the moment we checked in, the experience was disappointing. Right after arriving, they asked, “How do you like the hotel?” — which is not how hospitality works. When I mentioned this, the response was, “We have worked in many hotels and this is how it is done.” Feedback should be taken after a proper stay, not immediately upon arrival. The restaurant service was also very poor. As soon as I took the very first bite, the waiter immediately asked, “How is the food?” instead of allowing me to actually finish and experience the meal. The food quality itself was also very low. The behavior of the waiters was unprofessional, and the female guests did not feel safe around them. This is extremely concerning. Because of these issues, I had to check out after just one day, even though I had booked for three days — and I didn’t even ask for a refund. The only positive part of the stay was Aryan, who was polite and professional. The management should seriously consider training the staff, perhaps by learning from the service standards of Taj or Marriott hotels.
Pradeep D — Google review
I had a disastrous stay at this Ramada, which was far from my expectations. Initially, the staff seemed friendly, but their service deteriorated over time. Here's a breakdown of my experience: Accommodation The rooms were unclean, with a noticeable smell. Seemed to have bed bugs too. The washrooms were in a deplorable state, with issues like overflowing toilets, leaky bidets, potential water leakage from the bathtub, and extremely high water pressure that made it uncomfortable to even wash hands. Atmosphere Ongoing construction work on the 5th floor caused significant disruptions, despite being assured it wouldn't affect us on the 3rd floor. The noise was unbearable. Amenities - Hair dryer: Ineffective in both our original and newly renovated rooms. - Gym: The only redeeming feature, but the washroom had a faulty latch that locked my roommate out. - Pool: The outdoor pool was unusable due to cleanliness concerns and high heat. - Breakfast: The china wasn't provided; one had to ask for it multiple times. Limited options, average food and service, and a disturbing sight of cockroaches in the bakery area. Room Change and Towel Incident Due to the persistent bathroom issues, we were relocated to a different floor. However, the problems followed us, and the new room's bathroom still had water leakage, was dirty, and had overflowing sewage. To add insult to injury, the staff didn't even bother to inspect the room while I was checking out. It wasn't until I was already seated in my cab that they came running, claiming that a hand towel was missing and demanding payment. I told them to check my bag but they didn't and since I was already traumatized and just wanted to end the ordeal, I paid for this also without protest. Overall Experience The stay was marred by poor service, uncleanliness, and a general lack of attention to detail. Unless significant improvements are made, I would advise against staying here. I would give them a 0 if I could. Please look for other options.

Breakfast- below average taste wise and limited option. Property overall- it is more a corporate hotel. Staff- worst especially front desk special mention to Ankita (worse). Cleanliness- cleaning of occupied room including the refilling of water bottles happens post 2 pm they don’t care if you asking for water bottles, I had to Blinkit the water bottles. here special shout out to Ankita at front desk who follows the principal of I don’t care and will address selectively. Room service- food was better

Hotel Ramada Varanasi offers an excellent stay experience at a prime location in the city. The property is spacious, well-organized, and beautifully maintained. The sitting arrangement throughout the premises is truly impressive, providing comfort and style for guests. The staff are exceptionally courteous and professional, ensuring every need is promptly met with a smile. The on-site restaurant deserves special mention—it's elegantly designed and serves delicious food with remarkable presentation and taste. The hotel also features large and well-equipped marriage halls, making it an ideal choice for weddings or grand events.Overall, Hotel Ramada Varanasi combines great hospitality, fine dining, and elegant spaces, making it one of the best places to stay or celebrate in the city.
Aman D — Google review
We were not pleased with the food. We had 3 breakfasts here and on all 3 occasions there was quite a bit of repetition, so much so that one felt it was stale food being served. Never imagined a 5 star hotel would serve Jalebi and Dhokla every day. Many items were repeated everyday. The quality of fruits was average. The South Indian food was not up to the mark. We also had 2 lunches. The taste was just average or below. And the prices are extremely high. I have yet to experience a hotel serving rather small sized Tandoori Roti for Rs150 each. Overall, not good value for money.
Vijay K — Google review
Paid extra to get an upgraded room. The previous room was ghastly and from the 90s. In the upgraded refurbished rooms, I was advised to let the tap run for 10 min for warm water. The water would not drain. It took 2 days to convince them there was no internet connection in the room. It was either very slow 3 mbps or didn't work. Staff attitude was poor.

Amritara Suryauday Haveli in Varanasi is a beautifully refurbished 20th-century fort-style mansion located on Shivala ghat. The hotel offers elegant rooms, some with stunning views of the Ganges River. Guests can enjoy a vegetarian restaurant and music in the evenings, as well as a rooftop terrace providing panoramic views of the river and sunrise. The hotel also provides amenities such as complimentary wireless internet access, concierge services, and babysitting.
A Soulful Retreat at Amritara Varanasi Our stay at Amritara Varanasi was both delightful and deeply rejuvenating. The ambience of this humble abode radiates peace and serenity. At the heart of the courtyard stands a beautiful Shivling, surrounded by Parijat trees that gently shower blossoms each morning — a sight that feels truly divine. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and love. Uday Ji’s wisdom and kind words were truly heart-touching, and his attention to detail, along with his dedicated team, made us feel completely at home. The food was fresh, wholesome, and comforting — home-style cooking that was light on spices and ideal for both Indian and international guests. We especially cherished the high tea and the complimentary evening boat ride, which was breathtaking and soul-nourishing. At night, sitting on the terrace under the mystic moonlight with the cool breeze from the Ganga was pure bliss. The team also arranged an unforgettable early morning boat ride to witness the Subah-e-Banaras aarti at Assi Ghat and the sunrise over the river — a magical and memorable experience. The property offers direct access to the ghat, making it easy to take a holy dip in the Ganga. It’s also within walking distance of Hanuman Mandir and Gauri Kedar Mandir, both must-visit temples in Varanasi. As we departed, our final conversation with Uday Ji was deeply moving — filled with insight and love that stirred something within the soul. It was a moment of quiet transformation, one that brought tears of gratitude. If I were to describe this place in a single word, it would be “Sukoon” — a peace that transcends the mind and touches the spirit. We leave Amritara Varanasi with hearts full and spirits renewed, grateful for the love, care, and divine energy that this blessed place embodies.

Everything is excellent. It is a 5 star level home run in a very boutique personalized style. The staff is extremely polite, the views are amazing, the food is out of this world. Recommended stay in Kashi. I had a brilliant stay.

I recently had the chance to visit a friend staying at Amritara Suryoday Haveli in Varanasi, and while the property itself is charming, we had quite an odd experiencei during our visit. We had planned a boat ride to explore the ghats, which we had booked independently at ₹2500. However, the hotel staff insisted that we only use their services, which were priced at ₹3500. When we proceeded with our original booking, the hotel personnel actually stopped our boat ride, which was both frustrating and hilarious at the same time. It was disappointing to see the hotel push such a commission-driven agenda, especially since we recommended this place to our friends in good faith. While the haveli itself is beautiful, the unnecessary pressure on booking boats and auto-rickshaws through the hotel is something I think the management really needs to rethink. To sum up: the location and atmosphere are great, but the customer service, particularly regarding travel arrangements, leaves much to be desired. I hope they reconsider their approach to external services and focus more on providing a seamless, hassle-free experience for guests.

We had a lovely stay here! Great staff, good food, good location down a quiet alleyway yet just 10 mins walk to all the action. They helped us with a fantasy guide (Sanjay) who really made our trip super special. Would highly recommend this accommodation

This place is situated on Shivala Ghat and the heritage property is well maintained and the food is very good. The whole team from reception Mr Hasan, housekeeping by Shiva and Faiyaz and Resturant by Brijesh Sandeep and boat and guide services by Sanjay(Vishal) was exceptional ! Would definitely recommend this place to stay and had great experience of banaras. The property Manager Mr Uday is a gem of person ! We would come back soon! Thank you guys 😊

An amazing heritage haveli stay situated right at the ganges. I was apprehensive before booking, butnit turned out to be a an amazing stay. Booked for two nights. The hospitality was great, recieved us at Assi ghat, had a boat ride to the hotel. My parents were happy with this experience. It is situated right at the ghat. Commute isnt much of a hassle, though the main entrance is situated in narrow lanes, typical of varanasi. Rooms were good, toilet lacked an exhaust. Service was very good. All in all a great experience

Taj Ganges in Varanasi is a grand hotel known for its refined rooms and suites, surrounded by 12 acres of landscaped greens. It offers an experience of urbane luxury with all the amenities for a seamless vacation. The hotel's fine dining options serve international cuisines and thalis inspired by their own organic garden.
One of the best properties of Taj in India. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels but the service and behavior of the staff is commendable and at par to any top hotels in the country. Must try food is definitely their Sole fish in lemon sauce(sry I forgot the exact name mentioned in the menu). Special thanks to Chef Nishant, Miss Pal and Miss Muskan for wonderful experience. Although it was a kind of pitstop on the way to my home town. But I am definitely planning to stay at the same hotel on my way back.

TAJ GANGES truly exceeded our expectations! This was our first trip to Varanasi (Kashi) and our first stay at this beautiful property. The staff were extremely friendly, courteous, and always ready to help. The buffet at Chowk was excellent — special thanks to the restaurant manager, Ajay Singh, for his outstanding service. I would highly recommend dining at Chowk! Overall, our stay was comfortable, memorable, and filled with warmth. A big thank you to every staff member for going above and beyond to make our visit so special. We look forward to returning soon!

On arrival, the Taj Ganges looked very luxurious and modern, and check in was smooth and efficient. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, the only issue we had was that the room overlooked an area of the hotel that was being renovated. We were unaware that the hotel is being extensively extended and this did impact on our stay. The staff are amazing, and the hotel did compensate our inconvenience, so we were satisfied on the whole. Breakfast is buffet style and served in the Chowk restaurant, and was fresh, tasty and varied. In the evening, we chose to eat in the specialist Indian Varuna restaurant, which had amazing food and staff were attentive and friendly. We would especially like to mention and thank two of the staff that would come to our room after dinner and offer a complimentary foot spa. Both of the men were so friendly and kind to us, and we thoroughly enjoyed the foot spa and their company for the 20 mins or so. (Photo attached)

Nice cozy place with some old world charm. Excellent place. Stayed here after many years, and was awestruck by the standards. Nicely appointed rooms, welcoming staff, and quick to call service. One wonderful and humanly warm gesture is staffing differently able persons ( deaf and mute) in staff and that too in customer service. While it is applaudable on the part of management, the staff is also very good, and efficient inspite of their disabilities. One Mr Vishal, so energetic and ever smiling person, will go extra miles to serve you. Overall a very comfortable and heart warming stay.

Had a wonderful stay at Taj Ganges! After a long day exploring Varanasi, the team — Shivangi, Prerna, Prateek, Prachi ,this team — made sure we were well looked after. Their warmth and energy truly stood out. The “foot soak” they offered after our tiring day was such a thoughtful touch — pure bliss! The buffet at “The Chowk” was excellent, and Mr. Ajay,Jitender ,Tanu and the team went the extra mile to serve us even beyond regular hours. A special thanks to Vijendra for the lovely buggy ride around the property and palace — a beautiful experience overall. Heartfelt hospitality and genuine care make this stay truly memorable. Highly recommended! 🌸

Had a wonderful stay during my business trip which I combined with Kashi Darshan. The hotel staff were polite and attentive throughout. I booked a car and driver through the hotel for my whole trip — the coordination and service were excellent, making travel around Varanasi completely hassle-free. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food, especially the breakfast spread, was outstanding. Overall, Taj Ganges truly lived up to its name — peaceful, premium, and perfectly located for both business and spiritual travel.

Always a pleasure staying at the Taj Ganges especially due to the warmth and hospitality extended by their amazing staff like Pem who make the experience seamless and relaxing. Mr Anand by the pool is a great life guard on duty and helped me better my swimming skills with his witty advise! Overall the best place to stay in the oldest and rich in heritage city.

My husband and I stayed at multiple Taj properties while traveling recently throughout India. We were impressed with all of them. However, Taj Ganges, Varanasi was the last one we stopped at. It was a real let-down from the previous Taj properties. Our room had some sort of artificial cloying floral fragrance being pumped throughout. I spoke to two staff members about it separately, and neither could get it taken care of. And our room also overlooked a rather depressing looking construction sight. The breakfast room was in a rather grim, fluorescent-lit basement. The people working there were lovely, but the facilities and rooms were not in keeping with the other stellar Taj properties we had stayed at. Varanasi itself is worth seeing for a multitude of reasons, but I hope that the Taj Ganges does a MAJOR overhaul of its facility.

Manikarnika Ghat, also known as Manikarnika Mahashamshan Ghat, is one of the oldest and most iconic ghats in Varanasi. It holds great religious and historical significance as it is the primary site for traditional Hindu cremations. This ghat serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the ultimate truth of mortality.
Manikarnika Ghat, a sacred site in Varanasi, holds immense spiritual significance in Hinduism. Spiritual Significance - "Manikarnika Ghat is more than a cremation site; it's a place of inner awakening, where one reflects on the impermanence of life and the essence of the soul." - "Kashi is the Light of Liberation. Even after a thousand cycles of life and death, one is not sure if one gets salvation or not. This is attainable in a single birth in Kashi (Varanasi)". - "The waves of the River of Heaven are the wine of immortality. What can these three not provide?" Poetic Reflections - "शाम होते ही आसमां पे नज़र नुकती कर के बैठ गई. किनारों पे जिस कदर थकी हुई ये मणिकर्णिका के बगैर बनारस हो जैसे." ("As the evening sets in, the sky is dotted with stars. The banks of Manikarnika Ghat are tired, like Varanasi without its essence.") - "मेरा मन, मेरे ख़्याल का कोई ख़्याल नहीं करता, मैं क्यूँ मौत चाहती हूँ, वो कोई सवाल नहीं करता." ("My mind doesn't consider my thoughts, it doesn't question why I desire death.") Philosophical Insights - "Manikarnika Ghat is a reminder of life's impermanence. The constant presence of fire, ash, and chanting stirs contemplation, not just of death, but of how we live, what we leave behind, and where we go next." - "The city of Varanasi illuminates truth, and it doesn’t bring new wonders into vision but allows people to see what is already there".

Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi is one of the most spiritually powerful and historically rich places I have ever visited. Known as the main cremation ghat, it beautifully reflects the deep connection between life and death in Hindu beliefs. The constant sacred fire, the chants of priests, and the flowing Ganga together create an atmosphere that feels divine and eternal. Watching the rituals here reminds you of the cycle of life and the peace that follows. Despite being intense, it’s a must-visit for understanding Varanasi’s true soul — raw, sacred, and timeless. Truly a place beyond words.
Sankalp A — Google review
Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi is one of the oldest and most sacred ghats on the Ganga, known for cremations and the ancient belief that anyone cremated here attains moksha, or liberation from the cycle of life and death. Watching the burning pyres can feel strangely calming, and breathing in the faint smoke of the ashes can give a deep sense of letting go of maya, the illusions and attachments of the world. The ghat is always active with rituals, priests, and devotees, creating an intense but profoundly spiritual atmosphere that reflects Varanasi’s timeless connection with life, death, and the holy river.
Sagar S — Google review
Manikarnika Ghat is the most sacred cremation ghat on the banks of the River Ganga in Varanasi, known as the Mahashmashan—the Great Cremation Ground. According to Hindu belief, it is the place where the cycle of life and death ends, granting moksha (liberation from rebirth) to those who are cremated here. The ghat’s name, Manikarnika, means “jeweled earring,” and is linked to a divine legend involving Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. According to legend, when Lord Vishnu dug a pit here to welcome Lord Shiva and Parvati, a precious earring (manikarnika) of Goddess Parvati fell into it—thus giving the ghat its name. It is also believed that Lord Shiva himself whispers the Taraka Mantra (mantra of liberation) into the ears of the departed souls at this ghat, guiding them to salvation. For Hindus, death at Kashi and cremation at Manikarnika signify the end of the cycle of life and rebirth—a direct path to moksha. Manikarnika Ghat is eternally active — funeral pyres burn here 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Despite the constant presence of death, the ghat embodies a profound sense of peace, acceptance, and spiritual balance. The air is filled with the chanting of mantras, the crackling of wood, and the sound of the flowing Ganga, reminding visitors of life’s impermanence and the deep spiritual philosophy of Hinduism. Photographers, pilgrims, and seekers often describe their visit as transformative — confronting yet deeply enlightening. Manikarnika Ghat is not merely a cremation ground; it is a symbol of liberation and continuity. It also features ancient temples, including the Manikarnika Kund (sacred pond), believed to have been created by Vishnu’s Sudarshan Chakra. The Manikarnika Temple, dedicated to Goddess Parvati, and the Tarakeshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, add to the ghat’s sanctity. It stands as a timeless reminder of the Hindu philosophy of life, death, and salvation.

The Eternal Ghat of Liberation — Manikarnika Ghat Manikarnika Ghat is one of the oldest and most sacred ghats in Varanasi, known as the Mahashmashan (great cremation ground) where life and death meet in divine balance. According to legend, Goddess Parvati’s earring (Manikarnika) fell here, and Lord Shiva himself grants moksha (liberation) to souls cremated on this sacred ground. The sight may feel intense, but it carries a deep spiritual meaning — reminding us of life’s truth and the eternal cycle of existence. Standing here, you don’t just witness rituals; you feel the timeless soul of Kashi. A deeply humbling and powerful experience. 🕉️🙏

Manikarnika Ghat is one of the most spiritual and historically significant places in Varanasi. The atmosphere here is unique — a mix of deep silence, rituals, and centuries-old traditions. This ghat is known as the main cremation ghat, and witnessing the rituals reminds you of the true essence of life and death. The surroundings are busy with priests, locals, and visitors, yet everything moves in perfect harmony. It’s not a tourist spot in the usual sense, but a sacred place where the cycle of life continues 24×7. If you visit, come with respect and an open mind. Lighting, boats, and the nearby lanes give a classic Varanasi vibe. The energy of this place stays with you long after you leave.
Harthik T — Google review
Manikarnika Ghat is a place where cremations take place continuously. I walked through the narrow galis to reach the ghat, and as I got closer, I noticed a lot of firewood everywhere. At first I didn’t understand why — but soon realized that cremations were happening all around. I saw people bringing bodies to the Ganga, performing the last rites, and offering the sacred Ganga water. Even the rooftops nearby were covered with ashes from the burned bodies. I visited in October 2024, shortly after the flood. At that time, most places were still being cleaned and covered with mud. Visiting the ghat in person and viewing it from a boat offer two completely different experiences. The walk through the galis to Manikarnika was also a unique experience — filled with local markets, street food stalls, and beautiful paintings that showed the vibrant life surrounding this deeply spiritual place.
Nishil J — Google review
Having holy dip🌊 in this Manikarnika Ghat🙏🏻 is very special, and, even having holy dip while 12PM-1PM is believed that the 🙏🏻Devi Devatas🙏🏻 and Divine Rishis🙏🏻 have their holy dip at that time in invisible manner. Story: Manikarnika Ghat's story is rooted in Hindu mythology, with the most popular legend being that Goddess Parvati's "manikarna" (jeweled earring) fell into a kund (pond) here while she was with Lord Shiva. The name "Manikarnika" means "jeweled earring," and this spot is believed to be one of the most sacred cremation grounds in India, where the fire has reportedly burned continuously for centuries. Hindus believe that cremating a loved one at Manikarnika Ghat can provide them with liberation from the cycle of rebirth and death (moksha). It is also believed that Lord Shiva himself whispers the "Tarak Mantra" in the ears of those who die at Kashi, granting them salvation.

Rooms are good and the service is ok. Did not have a good experience with the service. First, we had issues with the checking in process, we called and checked with reception for early check in and were told that we can come in early but we had to wait for one hour to get the room. Reception gave excuses for the promise made over phone. When we finally got the keys to the room, no one came to show us the room (this is a courtesy service followed by most hotels). Had high expectations from this hotel but we are a bit disappointed with the experience.

Positives: • Spacious Rooms: The rooms are large, well-planned, and comfortable. Plenty of space to relax, and the overall cleanliness is well-maintained. • Good Bathrooms: Bathrooms are modern, clean, and equipped with good fittings. • Great Restaurant Food: The in-house restaurant serves tasty and well-prepared dishes, worth trying during your stay. • Beautiful Reception Area: The aquarium in the reception area adds a lovely touch and makes the space welcoming and unique. • Rooftop Pool: The rooftop pool is fabulous – clean, well-kept, and offers a great spot to unwind with nice views. What Could Be Better: • Not Very Baby-Friendly: The hotel lacks amenities or conveniences specifically for babies or toddlers. One time staff entered without permission family member didn’t open when he knocked. • Food Service Delay: Food tends to take longer than expected to arrive, which can be inconvenient. • Limited Indian Options: The menu seems designed more for foreign travelers, with many items catering to them. Indian guests may find fewer local or traditional options. • Staff Courtesy: The staff, while professional, are not as warm or friendly compared to typical five-star properties. Overall 4.5/5

We stayed at Madin for three nights with expectations aligned to a 5-star hotel experience. Unfortunately, our stay fell short, particularly in terms of the food quality and hospitality at the café. The buffet breakfast included with the room was disappointing — it lacked variety, presentation, and overall quality. The bakery items were underwhelming, and the spread did not reflect the standards expected of a premium breakfast offering. Moreover, the staff appeared untrained and ill-equipped to cater to guests accustomed to high-end service. I would strongly recommend that management undertake a comprehensive review of the breakfast menu and its presentation. Additionally, investing in staff training would greatly enhance the overall guest experience and better align with the expectations of elite clientele. Thank you.

The experience was an absolute blast, rooms were best and the food was a delight. One point that needs to be pointed out is the behavior of that one employee, that Mishra in Jaw Restaurant He is so arrogant and mis-behaved, that it seems like he's being forced to work, him alone defames the hotel very much, highly advisable to the concern team to take care of this matter, that's why a three star in service. Staff is extremely disrespectful. I mean itna batamiz h that literally manager said pehle kabhi hotel me nahi gye ho. He literally yelled saying this for something i was discussing moreover requesting to provide facility that was already mentioned on the site. Incompetent, not at all hospitable. You don’t feel comfy and welcomed but you should as after paying a hefty amount at such big hotels. Completely disappointed. Nowhere near expectations set by them with their commitments on their own websites and across booking platforms. Pathetic

Palace on Ganges in Varanasi is a heritage hotel located on the banks of the sacred River Ganges. The hotel's architecture resembles a palace and it offers 32 comfortable rooms, each uniquely themed to represent different aspects of Indian culture. Guests can enjoy facilities such as parking, a bar, and WiFi. The property is strategically situated at Assi Ghat, providing easy access to one of Varanasi's major religious sites.
If you're someone who's new to India's many cultural landscapes, this hotel should be a must for you. Every room's design is based on an Indian state, and that's why they seem to have a flavour that's missing from most hotels around. The place is also perfectly located - right next to a ghat, which makes it easier for you to travel around. The service is superb too. Whatever you need and whenever you need it, the staff will help you out. My only complaint has been with the noise due to the renovations going on, but that shouldn't be a problem by the time you're reading this review.
Tanay S — Google review
Our stay at Palace on Ganges has been an absolute nightmare. We booked their most expensive rooms for ₹10,000 a night after confirming on the phone that we would get Ganges-view rooms on the upper floors. When we arrived at midnight, we were told those rooms were not available. And on cross questioning they said that all rooms are of same category with only theme based decor differences. And then they changed the room rates on MakeMyTrip. What followed was over an hour of chaos as the staff kept changing their explanations and behaved with extreme hostility, raising their voices, arguing, and showing zero respect or professionalism. After all that, they handed us three pathetic rooms in disgraceful condition. The walls are damp and damaged, the floor is badly scratched and worn out, and the sheets are stained. These rooms are not even worth ₹1,500 a night, let alone ₹10,000. This property is completely misleading and dishonest. The pictures online are fake compared to what you actually get. The management is rude to the point of aggression, and the atmosphere is tense and unpleasant. We are spending a miserable night here and deeply regret booking this place. Avoid Palace on Ganges at all costs as no guest deserves to be treated with such extreme hostility. I will try to share the room photos and screenshots of our booking.

1 - this hotel has a fake misleading modern building photo in its business google site. It's really an old colonial building. 2 - the "upper level" room I reserved is not "up" either in hight or in quality. "Upper" means only that it's not on ground level beneath the entrance / reception. 3 - upon arrival late at night we were assigned to the worst possible room: Three meters from reception; windows right next to honking cars. I had reserved four months in advance, paid in full, and booked for seven nights. One would expect some kind of better treatment. 4 - upon my demand the next morning we were assigned a room on the 2nd floor. My request to speak with the manager was ignored. 5 - four out of seven nights there was no hot water. It comes and goes. 6 - one day we returned at 9:00 pm, to find that the room had not been cleaned. By way of 'apology', they added a third water bottle to the two daily complimentry ones... 7 - I then asked the reception manager for the 2nd time to speak with the manager. He promised to arrange it; nothing happened. 8 - I also told him I have a bitter negative feeling about this hotel. He wasnt impressed. 9 - the next day I told him I expect some kind of compensation. Again he wasnt impressed. 10 - on our final day the receptionist forgot a 4:00 am wakeup call. 11 - at checkout, my two credit cards (no prblms all over india and varanasi) were rejected by the hotel's three charging instruments. Location: 100 meters from Assi Ghat. For immediate face2face interaction most of the staff are VRRY service oriented.

wonderful hotel with very unique rooms. all the rooms are themed after an Indian state with very good attention to detail. the manager is very sweet and gave us a tour of all the rooms as we were curious. the location of the hotel is very good with Assi ghat just a stone’s throw away. food here is also delicious and has a lot of variety. overall highly recommend the place!

Worst ₹10,000 per room I’ve Ever Spent I'm writing this review while still stuck in this so-called Palace on Ganges and it is honestly one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. We booked their most expensive rooms (₹10,000 per night each) after calling them directly to confirm availability of Ganges-view rooms on the upper floors. They assured us those rooms would be given if we booked the highest category. We arrived at 12 midnight only to be told that the rooms we booked were not available. From midnight to 1 a.m. we were fed one excuse after another: first they said the rates were different, then that all rooms cost the same, then that the rate was actually ₹8,000, and finally that they would give us proper rooms in the morning. In the end, we were dumped into horrible rooms nothing like the online pictures. Right now we are trying to sleep in damp, musty rooms with stained sheets, tiny space, and walls reeking of moisture. These are in no way worth even half of what we paid. For ₹10,000 per night, this is nothing short of a scam. The staff were unapologetic, dismissive, and kept changing their story. The entire experience feels like a bait and switch. Strong warning: do not waste your money here. This place is misleading, dishonest, and the condition of the rooms is appalling. Varanasi has many better options and Palace on Ganges is not one of them.

⚠️ Warning for Travel Agents & Guests ⚠️ DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL They work with wrong intentions – only focused on taking your money. Had a horrible experience with their sales person Mr. Vikas, who showed no flexibility even during natural calamities. Highly unprofessional and not trustworthy. Not at all advisable.

PATHETIC is probably extremely modest word to describe the hotel. EXTREMELY DIRTY, rooms are like potholes , window in the lower rooms open to a DUSTBIN , rodents roam around freely with a FOUL SMELLING RODENT STATION placed outside the room. Tapestry , lamps extremely dirty. Staff RUDE AND EXTREMELY NON COPERATIVE. Very bad experience !! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY AVOIDABLE!!!!!!!! If it was possible to rate in negative or share the photos I would have done to validate my opinion

Ganpati Guest House is a charming and colorful accommodation option located in a quiet corner near Meer Ghat, offering comfortable rooms with the option of river views. The guesthouse features an in-house restaurant known for its Italian cuisine, including a signature dish of spaghetti alle vongole. With a peaceful ambiance near the Dasaswamedh Ghat, this boutique hotel provides a budget-friendly stay while being conveniently situated between two important ghats along the Ganges River.
We stayed here 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is fantastic - right in the middle of all the action. The balconies (Rooms 12 and 13 especially) are awesome, and provide great views up and down river. The rooms are big, well furnished, and air-conditioned (it does take a bit to figure out all the switches). The rooftop restaurant was great. Awesome food, service and views. Eat on the roof, under cover in the courtyard, or in your room or balcony. All the staff is so respectful and friendly. They will arrange taxis, laundry, tours, etc. The only downside was the WiFi which was horrible.

We had a good experience staying at Ganapati Guest House. Our room offered a great view of the river and the ghats. The staff was also quite helpful and friendly. Food served at the restaurant is simple and delicious.

Good place to stay and very near to meer ghat.. Accessible to boat ride and just few mins away from kashi vishwanath temple, ganga aarti ghat and vishalakshi mata temple too. Rooms are good and food here is amazing. Also they helped us early morning as we requested that we have to check out early and dropped out luggage to taxi too and fro. Safe place with a rooftop view of sunrise from ganga river. 🙏

Wow, what an amazing guest house. We arranged for a pick up from the airport and the car and driver were there to meet us. Cars can’t come right to the guest house so we were met by 2 porters to carry our bags the last 10 minutes. And what an experience that walk was. This place is incredible and so glad we didn’t need to navigate it in our own. The property is right on the Ganges and a 5 minute walk from the Aarti Ceremony. We booked a superior room with balcony overlooking the Ganges. Incredible. I’ve never stayed at a property so immersive in the culture. We are here in June and it’s 40 degrees. Thank goodness the rooms are air conditioned plus there’s a fan. The staff are so welcoming and helpful and the tours they offer are well priced. We did a sunset cruise with ceremony, sunrise tour plus a walking tour. Loved them all. Don’t waste time looking for anything better. You must stay here. It ticks all the boxes but don’t expect a 5 star hotel. You are paying for the location and experiences.

Great experience! Loved the ambience, people, view and rooms. The location is perfect and close to all the prime temples. You have to walk about 800 meters from the last drop point for an auto or rickshaw. Call the hotel beforehand, and they will send someone to assist you with your luggage and guide you to the location. The team will also answer all your queries about the place. Disclaimer: While the hotel is neat and clean, the approach lanes are not very comfortable, as this is a prime market area and part of the main temple route. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this place.
T R — Google review
So the wifi is horrible but it ain't that bad other than that. Light randomly goes off but you can just ask for assistance and usually they come very fast. Food up at the restaurant is great and also the view is great, but there are lot of bugs. But that's normal here so I can't really blame them. Shower is cold too. Sometimes in the night there are lot of noise outside but they can't really do anything about that. Overall if you are willing to deal with some small problem and a little expensive pricing it's a good place to stay at.
Minato G — Google review
My room here was booked here by an acquaintance without advance payment. She failed to show up for the trip, leaving me with 2 booked rooms to pay for. I arrived at midnight , manager was kind and understanding enough to book me a new room. It is situated on Ganga bank, about 2 km from Kaal Bhairav temple. All major temples are walking distance here. It is not accessible by car. The entire staff here is always smiling and helpful. Food is hygienic and can be made to custom order. I was introduced to a guide Mr. Sunil Yadav, who took it upon himself to make my trip as comfortable as possible. As a solo female traveler, he helped me avoid scams, attend rituals, took shopping and even ran errands so that I don't have to go out alone. Upon learning that my train leaves at midnight, he offered to drop me, he only left after settling me in my seat. Their entire staff is committed to providing a memorable service.

Stayed at The Amayaa during a solo office tour and had a really smooth and pleasant experience. The hotel has a calm atmosphere—perfect to unwind after a long day of work. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. Staff was professional, courteous, and quick to respond to any requests. The food was also impressive, especially the breakfast. Overall, a hassle-free and comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend for business travelers.

Nice hotel in this location. Overall good, currently reception area is under renovation. Staff behaviour is very good. Nice n clean pool area. Restaurant is good. Hotel need some upgradation in their room specifically bathrooms. Property is 10 to 12 years old, but looks more than 20 years old. Overall one of the best in this region.

As expensive as this hotel is, the service is not that good. I had dinner and lunch here. Actually, I got my sister married from this place, so their service is not that special to me. Everything was good. The decorations were good and all the other things were good, but I did not like the food at all. I felt that it would be better if I eat street food outside.

Rivatas By Ideal is an elegant hotel in Varanasi offering luxurious rooms and suites, two restaurants, a bar, outdoor pool, and a spa. The spacious suites provide stunning views and all necessary amenities. The hotel features air-conditioned banquet halls with a 400-person capacity, making it perfect for hosting events. Centrally located in Varanasi, it's just a short drive from major attractions like Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Dasaswamedh ghat.
We recently stayed at Hotel Rivatas in Varanasi, and it was a wonderful experience overall. The service was prompt and the staff were extremely cooperative and friendly, always ready to assist with a smile. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained, offering a comfortable atmosphere throughout our stay. Both the housekeeping and dining staff were courteous and efficient, adding to the pleasant experience. The food was delicious with generous portions, and we appreciated the variety offered during meals. While the view from our room was a slight letdown—overlooking another building with no natural sunlight—this was the only drawback in an otherwise superb stay. We would definitely recommend Hotel Rivatas to anyone visiting Varanasi who’s looking for a comfortable stay with excellent service and hospitality.

The food was delicious. The staff was very helpful, polite and considerate. Room service or any service was on point. But the rooms look old. Very dark theme. We had 2 suites, both were spacious and clean but lacked in modernity and especially the colors. So I will give it 4 stars.

Service 10/10 Food at The Ocean restaurant - great options , variety of dishes at the buffet, I couldn't help but overeat every single time. Location - safe , in cantonment area The rooms were homely, modern and comfortable. Thank you for the service.

The price what they are charging doesn't match with the facilty they give. Rooms are big but minimal furnished because of that it felt like hall. Rooms were clean n properly maintained but there was bad smell coming from a.c They dont have proper parking facility u have to park on road in front of hotel. Room service was good but food rate was very high per dish average cost was 750 n taste was very average. Service staffs are polite but reception people don't give much damn about customers needs n satisfaction(1 star) for them. Breakfast buffet was good.

The Hotel Ganges View, Assi Ghat B1/163 is a beautiful colonial-style haveli (traditional, ornately decorated residence) with stunning views of the River Ganges. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated with antique furniture, and the hosts are welcoming and hospitable. This is a great place to stay if you're looking for a relaxing atmosphere with excellent views of the river.
We recently stayed at this lovely traditional hotel and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, with a beautiful touch of tradition in its decor and hospitality. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help, making our stay even more enjoyable. One of the biggest surprises for us was the food. The hotel serves pure vegetarian meals without onion and garlic, something we don’t usually prefer. However, to our surprise, the food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, flavorful, and satisfying. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. If you’re looking for a peaceful and authentic stay with amazing service and great food, this is the perfect place! We would definitely love to visit again.

We were a group of 5 women staying here over the 31Oct25 weekend for our first ever trip to Varanasi. The location is fabulous, right by Assi Ghat. Local transport, eateries and shops were all nearby. The rooms were well-equipped and spacious. The sit out is a very pretty place with beautiful flowering plants all over. We spent 2 womderful evenings on the terrace that offered breathtaking views of Assi Ghat and the Ganges. Service was great. Check-in and check-out were seamless. Both breakfast and dinner were very comforting. Shashank was a great help at the reception. We had a very memorable stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel Ganges View is a gem. Perched immediately above the teeming river it is in the thick of the action but an oasis of calm. Set in an old family palace, and run still by the family member who inherited it, the hotel is a real piece of the history of the city. The food is excellent, and the rooms clean and elegant, with attached porch sitting rooms rooms full of plants. But the most extraordinary aspect of the hotel is the enormous collection of Indian art of all periods on every wall and table. One can spend hours soaking up the deep art history of India, and hours discussing it with the erudite and very well connected Mr, Singh, who holds court in the reception area with the many fascinating guests: spiritualists, diplomats and writers. Under Mr Singh’s thoughtful guidance we visited the university art museum and ordered the definitive introduction to Indian art history. All in all a fantastic stay, even before counting the wild magic of Varanasi…

Amazing hotel in an incredible position a few meters from the Ganges at the Assi Ghat. The rooms are small but comfortable. The terrace is beautiful with an amazing view over the river and nice to chill after the busy streets of Varanasi. Delicious vegan dinner, friendly staff and fascinating owner with his story of the hotel. Recommended!

What an unpretentious yet classy and classic place. Staff and service were amazing and the rooms were as charming and comfortable as you can imagine (we stayed in two). The lobby and dining room are filled with impressive art, and the veranda overlooking Assi Ghat is a special feature. The dining room was also where we enjoyed one of the better meals we had during our 8 day Varanasi visit. One of our all-time favorite hotels.

We stayed at Hotel Ganges View in April. The hotel is wonderful. Very tastefully decorated and we felt we were in an hystorical place. The rooms are nice and clean, unfortunately there is not so much sun light in the rooms but there is plenty in the porch close to the rooms. The hotel is located near the ASSI GHat and is also easily accessible on foot. The location is absolutely strategic. The hospitality we received was very friendly. We felt like being at home. The breakfast was tasty. The last day we discovered it was the hotel where a vary famosu Italian writer used to stay when he was in Varanasi. His name is TIZIANO TERZANI. Thank you!!!

Nice place with friendly people. Room is wonderful decorated, but poor shower loosing litres of waters in the bathroom while showering. Hotel is beautiful with many hidden places. Service quite good with friendly staff. Location is pretty good, very close to the river and to Assi ghat. That means that is also very noise from river banks. Loud prayers start at 5am, need for ear plugs essentiel. Did not like breakfast/dinner very much. Vegi hotel, not my taste, even breakfast was no good for me. After second dinner I felt sick in the night and during next day. Recommend it for maximum 2 nights, not longer!

Rashmi Guest House is a charming and modest hotel that offers guests a delightful experience with its inviting restaurant, serene terrace, and rejuvenating Ayurvedic massages. Nestled along the banks of the river at Tripura Bhairav Ghat, this guest house provides stunning views and easy access to local attractions like the revered Man Mandir Ghat and nearby temples such as Someshwara Temple.
Best location if you are visiting Vishwanth temple. Within a few minutes of the temple and Dashaswamed Ghat. There are rooms overlooking the Ganges which are slightly more expensive . The rooms have AC, wireless and importantly an electric kettle for morning tea. Maybe a little small but good enough for a couple. Staff are super helpful. The manager Mr Sanjeev is a wonderful person and goes all out to make sure that guests are comfortable. The hotel has a restaurant-Dolphin - that serves a variety of dishes, both Indian and Western. Food is very tasty and reasonably priced. The restaurant staff are also very helpful. View from the restaurant overlooks the Ganges. The boats are anchored just outside and below the restaurant. Don’t be put off by the narrow bylanes one has to walk through to get to the hotel. This is a very ancient part of the town and if you want to experience the flavours of the city then this too is part of it. One thing to be aware of is that taxis are not allowed into this part of the city. One has to get off at PDR mall and take a rickshaw. In our case the manager sent his staff to guide us from the taxi drop off point to the hotel. They also helped with the luggage. Traveling with too much luggage isn’t recommended since there is some 15 min walking required. We saw many foreign guests at the hotel. Overall I’d recommend this highly for location accessibility to major attractions and for helpful staff and room views.

If you are game for navigating the narrow by lanes, sadhus & cows of Varanasi to reach this hotel on the bank of Ganges right on Manmandir ghat, you will be greeted with the most amazing view of the river with idyllic boat cruisers, the many faithful taking a holy dip and the many temples that underline the century old saga of Varanasi as the holy city for Hindus. We had stayed at their best room on the 4th floor (my 2nd time) and this has become my preferred place of stay especially after they installed an elevator. The food @ Dolphin restaurant is very good and the staff attentive and cordial - I need to specially call out Mr. Sanjeev for his hospitality and personal tour of several temples as well as shops for the iconic banarasi saree. Recommend to every kind of traveller for a fulfilling experience!

Great stay right at Dashashwamedh Ghat! Safe for solo women travellers, lean and hygienic rooms, and a very helpful staff. Though a bit inside the lanes, it is peaceful compared to the chaos of Godowlia and still walking distance to all major temples and ghats. Perfect spot to explore the real Banaras!

Location is unique. Right on the bank of Ganga. We stayed in Room 203 for 3 days and enjoyed sunrise through super large window. The Ganga was coloured with the morning glory of sun. The approach from motorable road is through slim typical Varanashi Gali but through these Galis people travelled 3000 years ago. Amazing. You don’t have to travel anywhere to see Ganga. She is just 70 steps down from hotel. Dining place is unique and food was tasty. Staff were helpful. Manager-Faizan was excellent.

Just fabulous a 10/10 I was travelling solo and everyone out there made me feel that I am home. Exceptional service at any point... I guess everyone in this hotel works 24/7 for their customers. Everything here is so well connected like all the ghats, the temple, the spot where Ganga mata's Aarti is organised everyday. The place is so beautiful I have taken a lot of memories from there. Uncle - Manager comes with amazing experience and he is very knowledgeable. He shared a lot of information on the origination and power the temple holds. Baiju is a classic example for being fantastic customer service specialist. He always ensured if I was comfortable with the stay. He gave lot of ideas on the eatables the hotel had to offer. He also gave multiple options and details for me to step out and move around. Time and again he checked on me if I was fine or if any medication is required. People here are very grounded and humble. Hotel has amazing food. Mix vegetable fried rice is a must try and a ghee ka tadka wala daal. OMG overall for me it was a 10/10 experience. My second home.

The location is superb and has river view rooms and restaurant. Beautiful location, it's a gem to be discovered. Has lift and service is also commendable. The only downsize is that since the location is just above the ghat hence the road is not motorable but they provide service for pick up and drop so its not big of an issue but still thats a 300m walk within conjusted Benaras galiyan. The restaurant is another gem which has a picturesque location and has roof top dining too which has mesmerizing view from lower deck as well as roof top.

Dashashwamedh Ghat is a vibrant and bustling riverside step leading down to the Ganges River, where daily religious rituals take place. It's known as one of the most lively ghats in the town and offers a spiritual experience.
Dashashwamedh Ghat is one of the most vibrant and spiritually charged places in Varanasi. The atmosphere here is truly magical, especially during the Ganga Aarti in the evening. The sound of the bells, chanting of mantras, and the sight of hundreds of diyas glowing on the river create a divine ambiance that stays in your heart. The ghat is always bustling with pilgrims, sadhus, and tourists, giving a true glimpse of Varanasi’s culture. Boat rides from this ghat at sunrise and sunset are a must-do for a beautiful view of the river and ghats. It can get crowded and a bit chaotic at times, and there are many vendors around, but that’s part of the local charm. If you want a good view of the Aarti, it’s better to reach early. Overall, Dashashwamedh Ghat is a soulful experience and a must-visit for anyone coming to Varanasi.
Manoram S — Google review
Dashashwamedh Ghat is one place you definitely shouldn’t miss. It’s one of the oldest and most active ghats on the Ganga River, and the moment you reach there, you feel the energy of the place. The ghat is always full of life — pilgrims taking dips, priests performing rituals, boatmen offering rides, and vendors selling flowers, diyas, and snacks. It gives you a true experience of Varanasi’s daily culture. The biggest highlight is the evening Ganga Aarti. It’s a beautiful ceremony with lamps, chants, and music. It gets crowded, so reaching at least 30–40 minutes early helps you find a good spot. Watching the Aarti from a boat is also a great option if you want a peaceful view. The steps are wide, the river view is amazing, and there are historic temples around the ghat that add to its charm. It can be busy and noisy at times, but that’s part of the authentic Varanasi experience. Overall: A must-visit spot for spiritual vibes, photography, and understanding the real soul of Varanasi.
Yaduveer S — Google review
Dashashwamedh Ghat is arguably Varanasi's most famous and lively ghat, known for its spectacular Ganga Aarti. The ghat is illuminated each evening by fire-lit lamps, with priests performing rituals that captivate locals and visitors. The aarti, accompanied by chants and hymns, creates an unforgettable atmosphere of devotion. This ghat is a spiritual centre where the essence of Varanasi's rich cultural and religious traditions can be experienced in full splendour. The Aarti starts soon after sunset and lasts for 45 minutes. The timings during summers are 7 PM because of late sunsets and in winters it started around 6 PM. The Ganga Aarti (ritual of offering prayer to the Ganges river) is held daily at dusk. Several priests perform this ritual by carrying deepam and moving it up and down in a rhythmic tune of bhajans. Special aartis are held on Tuesdays and on religious festivals. Dashashwamedh Ghat is a main ghat in Varanasi located on the Ganges River in Uttar Pradesh, India. It is located close to Vishwanath Temple. There are two Hindu legends associated with the ghat: according to one, Brahma created it to welcome Shiva, and in another, Brahma performed 10 Ashwamegha Yajna, Dasa-Ashwamedha yajna. Construction was started by the Raja Dushasan Shah, raja of Dhaudharh (bihar) in 1569 and then by the Maratha kings , the present ghat was built by Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao in 1748. A few decades later, Ahilyabahi Holkar, the Queen of Indore, rebuilt the ghat in 1774.

Dashashwamedh Ghat in Kashi is one of the most spiritual and lively places in India. The atmosphere is filled with devotion and peace, especially during the evening Ganga Aarti — a truly divine experience. Boating on the Ganga is also available here, offering a beautiful view of the ghats and temples. The place is usually crowded during festivals, adding to its vibrant and festive charm. The area is clean, well-maintained, and rich with culture and tradition. A must-visit spot in Varanasi! ⭐️⭐️⭐⭐🌟

Review on Dashashwamedh Ghat, Varanasi Dashashwamedh Ghat is one of the most vibrant and sacred ghats in Varanasi. The atmosphere here is truly divine — filled with the sound of temple bells, chanting of mantras, and the sight of devotees taking holy dips in the Ganga. The ghat is always alive with energy, especially during the famous Ganga Aarti in the evening, which is a mesmerizing spiritual experience everyone should witness at least once in their life. Early mornings are equally beautiful, with sunrise over the river and boats floating peacefully. The view is breathtaking, and you can feel a deep spiritual connection with the place. The cleanliness has also improved, and local vendors and priests are helpful. Overall, Dashashwamedh Ghat is the heart of Varanasi, where faith, devotion, and the timeless beauty of the Ganga meet. A must-visit for anyone seeking peace and divine energy.

This is the most popular Ganga Aarti but sadly due to high water levels, it had been moved to balcony. Because of that I couldn’t witness the grandeur of this aarti. It is recommended to come like an hour ago atleast to get one of the best spots. The aarti starts around 6 PM. There are special paid seats at boats for better views of aarti. I personally liked attending Assi Ghaat aartis more because of this reason. So I would recommend checking out what’s the situation. Visit only if it is happening on ghat and not in balcony.

Must visit place in Varanasi. It is the most prominent and bustling ghat of Varanasi, located close to the sacred Kashi Vishwanath Temple. The name of the ghat is rooted in mythology—“Dash” means ten, “Ashwa” means horse, and “Medh” means sacrifice. It is believed that Lord Brahma performed a yajna (sacrifice) of ten horses here to welcome Lord Shiva to Kashi. This mythological association makes it one of the holiest and most revered ghats in India. The ghat is world-famous for hosting the grand Ganga Aarti every evening, which draws thousands of devotees and tourists. A group of priests, dressed in traditional attire, perform the synchronized ritual with large lamps, incense, flowers, and the sound of conch shells. The sight of rows of golden flames reflecting on the Ganga, accompanied by chants and bells, creates a spiritual atmosphere that is considered the highlight of a visit to Varanasi.

This is my second visit to this sacred place. I have participated in the evening Aarti at Dashaswamedh Ghat. Aarti well organised with large number of devotees participating in this one hour pooja. Devotees sat on the boats, on the steps and available buildings . It is really s very nice dharshan with bhajans and finally with Aarti.

Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple is a renowned riverside temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, featuring an impressive 18th-century gold-plated spire and a sacred well. It's also the only Jyotirlinga in Uttar Pradesh.
Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi is one of the most sacred places in India, known for its golden dome, deep spiritual energy, and connection to the holy river Ganga. The renovated corridor beautifully links the temple to the nearby ghats, making the walk to the river calm and devotional. The surrounding gallis are narrow but full of life, with shops selling flowers, sweets, and spiritual items, creating a vibrant old-world charm. The nearby Dashashwamedh Ghat hosts the famous Ganga Aarti every evening, where priests perform rituals with lamps and chants that fill the air with divine energy. Though crowded and noisy at times, the combination of the temple, ghats, gallis, and the Ganga Aarti makes the experience unforgettable and truly spiritual.

Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the holiest shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, was a spiritually enriching and unforgettable experience. Located in the heart of Varanasi, the temple stands as a beacon of faith and devotion for millions of Hindus. From the moment I stepped into the narrow lanes leading to the temple, the air felt charged with spiritual energy. The aroma of incense, the chanting of mantras, and the constant ringing of temple bells created an atmosphere that was both intense and peaceful. The temple itself, with its majestic golden spire, is a blend of rich history and deep religious significance. Though often crowded, the darshan process was surprisingly well-managed. The Gyanvapi Corridor, part of the new Kashi Vishwanath Dham project, added to the experience by providing open, clean, and aesthetically pleasing access to the temple. Security was tight but well-organized, and the cleanliness of the temple premises was impressive considering the massive daily footfall. The presence of helpful volunteers and the availability of lockers, guides, and prasad counters made the visit more convenient. What touched me most was the palpable faith of the devotees. People from across the country, and even the world, stood in line with folded hands, eyes closed in prayer, completely immersed in devotion. Highlights: Spiritual atmosphere like no other Historical and cultural significance Clean and well-managed temple complex Efficient darshan system despite crowds The newly developed Kashi Vishwanath Corridor adds grandeur and comfort Tips for Visitors: Visit early in the morning (especially for the Mangala Aarti) to avoid large crowds Dress modestly and be prepared to walk through narrow, bustling alleys Mobile phones and cameras aren’t allowed inside, so plan accordingly Booking special darshan online can save time

It is the desire of every Hindu to visit Kashi at least once in their lives. There is a tradition in our country to spend the last days of life in Kashi. It is believed that Lord Shiva recites the name of Rama, in the ears of every living being who is about to die here. Vishwanath appears as a self-contained Jyothir Lingam in a tank-like structure measuring three by three feet. Devotees can pour Ganga water with their hands and sprinkle flowers and touch it to worship from 4.00 to 5.00 am and also from 4.00 to 5.00 pm. We obtained tickets through online (one month ago) for Sugam Dharshan at 2.00 pm batch by paying Rs.300/- per head. We had our Dharshan within seven minutes. Then we purchased tickets for Rudra abishekam by paying Rs. 450/- and a priest came with us and performed all the abhishekams for the Lingam. We paid another Rs. 250/- towards the cost of milk for performing Milk abhishekams. By 2.30 Rudra abishekam was also performed. Then we stood in the queue meant for free Dharshan and worshiped Lord Viswanathar within 30 minutes. We kept all our important belongings such as mobiles, bags etc in a locker outside the temple and left our chappals there . We could never forget that vibrations which we felt while we were doing the Rudra abishekam.

Kashi Vishwanath Temple is the spiritual heart of Varanasi and a must-visit for every devotee of Lord Shiva. The temple feels truly divine, and the newly developed corridor offers a grand and peaceful view leading towards the Ganga. One of the best times to visit is early in the morning between 4 AM to 5 AM, when Sparsha Darshan (touch darshan) is allowed even in the general/free line. The atmosphere at that hour is calm, less crowded, and filled with pure devotion—an experience that feels truly special. Security arrangements are strict, and the management is much more organized now. Though the temple can get crowded later in the day, the early morning visit gives a peaceful and memorable darshan of Baba Vishwanath. Despite the rush during peak hours, the divine energy of the temple makes the journey completely worth it. A visit here leaves you with a deep sense of peace and devotion.

One of the most beautiful temples in India. This is the 9th Jyotirlinga in the world. There are 4 entry gates. Power bank and charger is not allowed inside the gate, we can submit our mobile inside the temple. I went by evening time. Temple timing -3am- 11 pm

Excellent pilgrim centre. Once in a life time visit as considered by Hindus all over the world. Evening Saptha Rishi Arathi and midnight puja are to be reserved well in advance. Otherwise 12 noon and 9 PM Sambho by Nattukottai Nagarathars is very special. Tight security. No mobile, footwear, watch / Pen or purse or handbag and so just basic decent clothing and some cash to offer. Spiritual experience

If you're looking for a vibrant and visually pleasing gallery to explore while in Varanasi, look no further than Ruchika Art Gallery. Owner Ruchika Mehrotra is an artist herself, and her collection reflects the vibrant energy of the city and its ghats in all their colorful glory. While some of the larger works might require shipping, many of the paintings are small enough to take home as souvenirs.
Visiting the gallery and experiencing Ruchika’s artwork was truly a wonderful experience. Each piece is incredibly captivating and carries a deep, meaningful story. Ruchika personally shared the inspiration behind her work, which made the visit even more special. From the moment I entered the gallery, I felt a wave of positive energy. As she guided me through her collection, I was so moved that I couldn't resist commissioning a piece of my own. This will be my first personal art souvenir, and I’m thrilled to have something so meaningful created just for me. I genuinely love this place and will definitely be coming back again.

Beautiful paintings and eye opener of self introspection as I listened to the explanation of each painting. I reached after following the signboards along the way for the first time but I went through that way for 15 days. Each day I did a workshop to complete the art I had chosen. My work with ruchika ji guidance came out as a therapy for my mind! Brought peace!

My husband and I wanted a beautiful painting of Varanasi and struggled to find the right place—until we discovered Ruchika Art Gallery on TripAdvisor. The gallery itself is charming and easy to find, with clear signs leading the way. Ruchika ma’am’s art is truly captivating. She patiently took the time to explain the meaning and story behind each piece, helping us discover exactly what we were looking for. After understanding our preferences, she even customized a painting for us—and despite it being Diwali, she made sure it was shipped to us on time. When the painting arrived, it was even more stunning than we had imagined—absolutely perfect and full of soul. We highly recommend visiting Ruchika Art Gallery, whether you’re looking for a beautiful painting for your home, creative inspiration, or simply wish to experience the rich art and culture of Banaras.

Went to Ruchika Art Gallery recently, because I was bored and had free time, and honestly, it felt like a pause button on the full chaos. The place was full of new and unique creations and full of soul. Ruchika ma'am was kind, humble and fast-spoken yet thoughtful. She put her thoughts in art, and I loved that ngl. Knowing she’s a gold medalist makes sense, you can feel the professionalism in every detail, but there’s no ego, just pure passion and grace. Thank you for holding a space that’s both artistic and humanistic.

Visited Ruchika Art Gallery during my trip to Varanasi after I saw the reviews online. But seeing the paintings with naked eye is like a feast to the eyes. The paintings just transport you to another level. They were just mesmerising. Like one of the reviewers said it's like seeing Varanasi through art. All the paintings are beautiful and each painting has a story. Ghat paintings are just another level. Lord Shiva paintings are just awesome. You can relate to the paintings more if you visit the gallery after the Ghat visit. Artist Ruchika is so patient in showing the paintings and she also explains the idea behind each painting. Got some paintings as souveniers from my Varanasi trip. I can never forget my trip to Varanasi as long as I can see the beautiful paintings on my wall.

We had visited Ruchika's art gallery at her home in August. Her exquisite art collection captures the heart and soul of Varanasi. We especially loved her work capturing the ghats of Kashi, but ended up getting a painting of Sankatmochan Hanuman Ji which just spoke to us immediately! The painting looks exactly like Hanuman Ji as he is virajman in the Sankat Mochan temple of Varanasi. I recommend anyone traveling to Kashi to visit her studio once.

The hotel was having big and clean rooms and the food was delicious aswell. The restaurant service is quick but the waiters do NOT pay attention to your dietary preference or any requests you may have. They just prepare the food as the way they prefer. The prices are high but the quantity is also big. All the other places are close by and at a walkable distance. The room service and room is very good and well maintained but the restaurant servers need to be improved.

Darbhanga Ghat is a visually appealing and architecturally impressive sandstone palace with towering Greek pillars and turrets, featuring a Shiva temple and a hotel. It is considered one of the most fascinating spots along the ghats in Varanasi. The area offers stunning photo opportunities, especially with the ultra-luxurious BrijRama Palace overlooking the riverbank.
I visited Darbhanga Ghat in Varanasi, and it is truly one of the most beautiful and majestic ghats in the city. What makes it stand out is the stunning architecture of the old Darbhanga Palace (now part of the BrijRama Palace hotel) that rises right beside the ghat. The grand structure, with its royal design and intricate stonework, gives the ghat a regal charm and makes it one of the most photogenic spots along the Ganga. The ghat itself is peaceful compared to some of the busier ones, which makes it a perfect place to sit quietly, watch the river flow, and soak in the spiritual atmosphere. In the morning, the view of the sunrise from Darbhanga Ghat is absolutely mesmerizing, while in the evening you can witness the beautiful Ganga aarti at the nearby Dashashwamedh Ghat. It’s also a great spot for photography, boating, and simply enjoying the heritage and culture of Varanasi. Walking along the steps and seeing the grand palace up close feels like stepping back in time. Overall, Darbhanga Ghat is a must-visit if you want to experience a mix of history, architecture, and serenity in Varanasi.* 🌅🏰✨

Darbhanga Ghat is among the most architecturally stunning and serene ghats along the sacred River Ganga in Varanasi. It was built in the early 1900s by the royal family of Darbhanga, a princely state in Bihar, from whom the ghat takes its name. The Darbhanga royals also constructed the grand Darbhanga Palace—a magnificent sandstone structure that still dominates the skyline above the ghat. Located between Munshi Ghat and Chausatti Ghat, it stands as a symbol of royal heritage, cultural devotion, and timeless beauty.

Darbhanga Ghat was built by the royal family of Darbhanga, Bihar, in the early 20th century. Known for its majestic architecture and grand sandstone palace, the ghat reflects regal elegance and devotion. The Darbhanga kings constructed it near the Kashi Vishwanath Temple for performing sacred rituals and to offer a peaceful stay for pilgrims. Today, its towering structure and artistic beauty stand as a reminder of royal legacy, devotion, and the timeless charm of Varanasi’s ghats.

The divine experience in worshiping Lord Hanuman🙏🏻. Temple has lot of space to pray Lord Hanuman🙏🏻 and Lord Sri Ram🙏🏻. They are providing lot of Hanuman Chalisa books inside. Locker facility is available over there, mobiles are not🚫 allowed inside the temple. Story: The Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple🙏🏻 in Varanasi was founded by the poet and saint Goswami Tulsidas in the 16th century, built on the exact spot where he had a vision of Lord Hanuman. Tulsidas, the author of the Ramcharitmanas and Hanuman Chalisa, believed that regular visitors to the temple would receive Hanuman's special favor. The temple is named for its purpose: "Sankat Mochan" means "remover of difficulties," and it's a popular pilgrimage site for devotees seeking relief from their troubles. Jai Sri Ram 🙏🏻

The property itself is a visual delight — meticulously maintained with beautifully landscaped gardens and architecture that reflects the cultural essence of the region. Our rooms (cottage) was impressively spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully equipped with all modern comforts, ensuring a truly restful stay. What truly elevated our experience was the warmth and professionalism of the staff. From the moment we arrived, every member of the team extended genuine hospitality, always ready to assist with a cheerful attitude. The in-house dining deserves special mention — each meal was a culinary delight, prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and presented with care. Om Vilas also offers a variety of engaging activities, but what stood out the most was the overall ambiance — calm, personalized, and thoughtfully curated. It provided a rejuvenating escape from the bustle of daily life. A heartfelt thank you goes to Bipasha, whose outstanding hospitality added a personal touch to our stay. Her attentiveness, warmth, and dedication to guest comfort made a meaningful impact and contributed significantly to the overall experience. We leave with full hearts and look forward to returning again.

We celebrated our Dad's birthday and it was superb. Hotel management Mr Shagird arranged for a tasty Cake and table setup for the party. The food was awesome and overall we had a great time celebrating and clicking pictures.

This was my second-worst stay in over 20 years. The rooms are basically tents covering a bed and bathroom — dimly lit, with a smelly pond right in front. Service is slow. On the first night, a Halloween party with extremely loud music went on late into the night. Despite several requests, it wasn’t stopped; the manager apologized and offered a nearby room, but it wouldn’t have helped much. I had to wake up early for a conference and spent the next day exhausted with a headache. The second night wasn’t any better — loud music from the next room and a noisy religious procession early in the morning meant no proper sleep again. On the positive side, the rooms were clean, the porch was nice, the staff polite, and the property itself beautiful.

I had high expectations from a 5-star property, but the experience was disappointing. The room had an unpleasant smell, and the bathroom had water leakage, turning the floor into a pool of water. The shower pressure was very low, making it uncomfortable to use. To make matters worse, I found an insect in the dessert at the restaurant — completely unacceptable for a property claiming 5-star standards. Waiting 10–15 minutes every time for a cart to move around the resort was another inconvenience. The location itself isn’t great either — quite isolated and not easily accessible. Overall, this hotel fails to meet even basic expectations of a 5-star stay and is definitely not worth the money.

rooms are ok, super luxury rooms are over priced a/c the rooms. the machan restaurant has very bad service also manager amit misbehave with us they didn't pack our left over which we want to take to our rooms during breakfast... overall need to increase the items in breakfast less options are there..for non-vegetarian also they didn't provide swimming costume for free as other five star resorts do.. it's a shame when you pay them 15 thousand bucks for rooms and there service is like two star standard...also the swimming pool is not upto the mark cleaned, there purifier is not working and they cleaned it manually with the net. only good thing is there cart system they provide you cart for too and fro for resorts rooms and food is good and tasty. yes they have big pub but it's also not linked with property..you can't order from pub to your rooms..only reception team is well mannered...and they have big lawn to watch which is filled with greenary only good for marriage purposes but very overpriced for staying purposes need to improve the service very much.

Located in Varanasi, Alka Hotel offers basic yet comfortable rooms with some featuring balconies and river views. The hotel is known for its vegetarian dining options and is a sought-after wedding venue. Situated on the bank of the Ganges, it provides easy access to the river and main temples, making it an ideal choice for travelers looking to explore Varanasi's ghats.
# Outstanding Stay at Alka Hotel, Varanasi - Exceeded All Expectations! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **5/5 Stars** I recently stayed at Alka Hotel in Varanasi and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. From the moment we reached out for booking to our departure, every aspect of our experience was handled with exceptional care and professionalism. ## Exceptional Service from Start to Finish What truly sets Alka Hotel apart is their incredible flexibility and customer service. When we needed to make last-minute changes to our room preferences, the team went above and beyond to accommodate our requests without any hesitation. The entire booking process was seamless, with excellent communication via WhatsApp that made everything convenient and transparent. ## Thoughtful Arrival Experience The attention to detail began even before we reached the hotel. They arranged our airport pickup cab and ensured we had proper guidance throughout our journey. What impressed me most was how they sent porters to assist us during the walking portion from Chouraha to Meer Ghat - a thoughtful touch that made our arrival stress-free, especially when navigating the narrow lanes of old Varanasi. ## Culinary Excellence The restaurant at Alka Hotel serves what can only be described as exceptional home-cooked meals. Every dish felt authentic and was prepared with genuine care. The main restaurant host deserves special mention - an absolutely amazing person who made our dining experience memorable with warm hospitality and excellent recommendations. ## Unbeatable Location The hotel’s location is simply perfect. Being so close to the main temple and other significant places in Varanasi, we could easily access all the important sites without any hassle. For anyone visiting Varanasi for spiritual or cultural experiences, you couldn’t ask for a better base. ## Special Arrangements When we needed a boat ride for a ceremony, the hotel team arranged everything smoothly. Their local knowledge and connections really showed, making our spiritual journey complete and meaningful. ## Outstanding Management Pandey ji and Trivedi ji, the key people managing this establishment, are truly exceptional. Their personal attention and genuine care for guests creates an atmosphere where you know you’re in great hands. It’s no wonder this hotel is preferred by my father - the consistent quality and service speak for themselves. Final Thoughts Alka Hotel offers more than just accommodation; they provide a complete Varanasi experience with warmth, authenticity, and professionalism. Every aspect of our stay was handled with such care that we felt like honored guests rather than just customers. I recommend this hotel without any reservations whatsoever. Whether you’re visiting Varanasi for the first time or returning like we do, Alka Hotel will ensure your stay is comfortable, convenient, and truly memorable. Would I stay here again? : Absolutely, and I’ll be recommending it to everyone I know who plans to visit this holy city.

I had booked this Hotel online through cleartrip. It is near to ghats but you’ll have to reach there by human rickshaw till nandi chauk and then WALKING at least 700m with your luggage in jammed streets. Hotel won’t provide any support for this. Also, I had booked a room with attached washroom mentioned in amenities but there I got the room with common washroom. And the washroom if the smallest possible you will see in your life.
Yitendra K — Google review
The hotel is located right next to the ghats, so it’s very easy to get anywhere. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the main road, which means guests arriving with luggage will need to walk a bit since there is no vehicle access. However, it has one of the best terraces overlooking the Ganges River. I stayed here twice, in 2020 and 2024. We experienced a few issues with insects, but despite that, I would still choose this place on my third visit because the terrace, the location, and the price–performance are excellent.

Pros - 1. Good proximity to the Ganges and the key temples - Bade Hanumanji, Vishaalakshi and Kashi Viswanath temples. 2. Calm and serene view of the Ganga river. 3. Close to Dashashwameda ghat where the evening aarti occurs. Improvement areas - 1. The food service speed at the restaurant here. 2. Located remote from the city with no travel access via cars or tempos. We had to walk with aged people and kids. Not an option with the rains, and crowded people bargaining for multiple services. 3. Hygiene - Expect a lot of dirty things on the way from garbage, and flies to whatever worst you can imagine!

Good location, just a short walk to Dashashwamedh Ghat for the Ganga Aarti and Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Stayed 1 night in a river-view room — peaceful and scenic. Rooms were simple but fine for a short stay. Staff was helpful in guiding us for temple visits. No meals included, but plenty of eateries nearby. Parking available.

All good, the location is a boon in terms of excellent river view however you have to walk from the main Chawk through narrow bylanes to reach the hotel.

I had a very bad experience with the hotel. I asked for a hotel pick, all was booked I arrived at airport, I was asked to go in Ola. Taxi drop.us 3 km away from hotel. Not knowing how to get to the hotel, we spent 2 and half hours trying to find our way. When we arrive hotel room without basic facility, I was totally annoyed, very tired. Rajneesh is the extremely helpful and friendly manager of both the hotel and restaurant at Hotel Stay Banaras. We were very fortunate to book a stay at this hotel. It is somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle of the “ ghat” area , and offers a much needed place to relax and refresh after a busy day of sightseeing. The hotel is “quirky” in all the best ways/ each room has its own vibe and character, but all are immaculately clean, comfortable and well appointed . The service couldn’t be better. The employees were always available and anxious to assist , and the most pleasant I have ever accounted. There is a restaurant named Behind the Yellow Door, attached to the hotel. The menu is extensive , with generous portions, tasty dishes, excellent service and very well priced. All in all, I can highly recommend a stay and dine at Stay Banares. You won’t be disappointed.

Avoid. Overrated and hyped. You will get better premium hotels at the same price..... Pros & Cons: The staff is courteous and helpful. The hotel is nestled in a slummy alley dotted with doggy poo and garbage on the main road. No Car Parking on the hotel premises. On Day-1, we stayed in Room 103. It was infested with mosquitoes, moths and the water heater in the WC was defunct. Also, there was loud music from their garden restaurant below. After complaining, they shifted us to Room 211 the next day. #211 is a decent room, but the sliding toilet door latch was not working. It was fastened with a cheap white sticky tape (see photo). The lift to the 2nd floor was kept shut frequently when it rained. Rainwater made the 2nd-floor passage area very slippery. A guest staying on the 3rd floor slipped one morning while climbing down the wet slippery stairs. The breakfast area had two 4-seater round tables. One table top was leaning precariously. After several reminders (read: complaints), they finally moved the table out and put up two square tables inside on the last day, when we checked out. Regards Neil

Very peaceful hotel, located well away from the hustle and bustle of the main Ghat and temple area. This has both pluses and minuses, the plus being that it is quiet and relaxing, and the minus that you need a 30 minute autorickshaw ride through dense and stationary traffic to get to the Central areas. The staff were very helpful. Rohit helped organise taxis and boat rides, Dimple is an excellent batista, and the manager, Rajneesh, was helpful with organising my visit.

I had a wonderful experience staying at Stay Banaras! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the peaceful and beautifully maintained surroundings—it truly gives you a calm, authentic vibe while still being modern and clean. The food here was absolutely outstanding—easily one of the best parts of my stay. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and presented with care. Whether you're enjoying a traditional Indian or something like Pizza or Tacos , their kitchen knows how to impress! The infrastructure and overall design of the hotel is also worth appreciating. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and well-equipped with all modern amenities. You can tell a lot of thought went into creating a space that feels both comfortable and culturally rich. Highly recommend Stay Banaras if you're visiting Varanasi—whether it's for a spiritual journey, leisure, or just to unwind. Will definitely come back again! A special appreciation to the staff—always smiling, warm, and ready to help. Whether it was serving food, guiding us around, or just being available, their hospitality truly made a difference. It felt like home away from home.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ I had a pleasant stay overall! The food was really delicious, and the hospitality from the staff was excellent — they were polite, attentive, and always ready to help. However, the rooms didn’t have proper ventilation as there were no windows, which made them feel a bit closed in. Also, the swimming pool was under construction during my visit, which was a bit disappointing. Other than that, everything else was great and comfortable regards Gururaj and family

To the ones reading this, a geniune tourist this side urges you to think twice before you get your holidays spoiled..... The hotel charges a lot more than its actual worth. Talking about services first-we had booked a banquet hall seperate for our cook ,but the staff denied them basic facilities and we had to indulge in a row with them to get our cooks a bedding and a proper aerated place . Secondly , the management staff doesn't stick to their words. They assured us pool in the evening and Dj till 1 at night earlier but refused to provide it later Our whole program got ruined because of their poor management. Third ,the MAKE MY ROOM SERVICE is again a failure , out of 12 rooms booked, some of them weren't cleaned properly and the soaps etc. Weren't restored. So this was my review. These things are injustice to the peace we long at our stay place. One can't just argue with the staff for every thing. One can't pay a fair amount to ruin his mental peace. So just don't get smitten away by the pictures posted instead think twice before booking it.... Thanks I appreciate your management considered replying to this ( which I thought would otherwise be unbothered!!!) But still our program got ruined because of your management. But in case if the management feels to work on this issue all they can do is arrange a get -to -gather for the same 35 people at the FERN'S Udaipur branch!!

The service and hospitality of the hotel is amazing. The food was super delicious, everything that we tried was good. The staff is also amicable and polite. The only drawback could be the location of the hotel. It is quite away from the ghats and main temple area.

The worst management of the hotel. They denied all the things which they agreed toh provide us while booking the hotel. They stopped the DJ party in midway. They didn't provide us the pool at the time they agreed toh provide. Excellent Stay – Truly Heartwarming Hospitality Our experience at Shree Ganesha Palace was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and genuine care. The entire place was extremely neat, clean, and well-maintained, which made our stay very comfortable. What stood out the most was the attitude of the staff and reception team — they were polite, attentive, and always willing to help with a smile. I booked a premium room at this hotel in hopes of a comfortable, relaxing stay, but my experience was extremely disappointing. The room I received was congested, with no window and no exhaust, making it feel suffocating and nothing like the premium experience I paid for. After staying just four hours, I went to reception to request a room change, especially since rooms were available on other floors. However, the staff denied my request without any valid explanation and showed no concern for my comfort or well-being. Feeling trapped and unable to breathe, I had no choice but to check out early and book another hotel. This hotel failed completely in providing a premium experience and did not treat guest discomfort seriously. I would strongly advise against booking here if you value your health, comfort, or customer service

I had a very comfortable stay at Shree Ganesha Palace in Varanasi. The location is excellent and made it extremely easy for us to visit all the major temples. The hotel arranged visits to Kala Bairava Temple, Annapoorni Temple, and even organized the Ganga Aarthi for us. They had deputed a person to guide us through all these activities, which made the experience smooth and hassle-free.There was a small miscommunication regarding the payment with the deputed guide, but once we brought it to the attention of the reception staff, they acted immediately. The issue was resolved on the spot, and the disputed amount was settled without any hesitation. I truly appreciate their commitment to honouring their guests and maintaining trust. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend Shree Ganesha Palace for anyone visiting Varanasi.

Very decent hotel with amazing staff Pragya, Sonu and Santosh Tiwari. They arranged excellent Maa Ganga Aarti experience as well as Baba Vishwanath Darshan for us. They also have a nice saree shop on premises. Very supportive staff. Also helped us with Taxi booking for airport at a reasonable rate. Rooms were clean, good bathroom with enough water pressure. Only negative for me and my family was road work and muddy roads making it difficult to reach to. Its close to Mandir and Ghat but recommend wheelchair or rickshaw for old people as this part of town is super crowded. Would love to return here again once Baba Vishwanath Mandir is built where it's supposed to be. Jai Bholenath.

We had a brilliant stay at Shree Ganesha Palace. First: The staff is so cordial, cooperative and always eager to ensure your comfort and convenience - particularly Mr Pushkar. He is a gem. He is gentle, positive, fluent with all necessary information and eager to help. These guys really know well how to care for the customers. Second: Excellent location. 5 mins walk from Dashashwamedh ghat. All other ghats nearby. Third: Very good value for money, as these are excellent rooms, good wi-fi and a very good restaurant called 1916. The property could have been better as it is part of a chain of hotels They currently have renovation work going on hence the front and back is covered with bamboos and even the hotel board is removed. I stayed in the king suite, while the room interiors were ok, the balcony that faces the river was covered in bamboos and nets. Overall a disappointing stay vs what was expected from a hospitality name like 'comfort inn'

Booked 2 rooms for my stay on the night September 4. The hotel is at the cantonment area outside the hustle and bustle of the temple area. The staffs were courteous. The prices of food on the menu were very high. The cost of vegetarian buffet was 900 plus tax, which had very few items. We went for A la carte and the food was tasty. The breakfast items were adequate and tasty. But what turned me off was the cleanliness issue. The standard of cleanliness is not expected from a hotel which claims to be 4 star. The lobby area was not clean and the floors of the rooms were dusty. The towels were not anything near sparkling white and few spots on pillow cover. The property is on the side of Varuna river although it did not make much attempt to capitalise on it.

Nestled in the heart of Varanasi, Rivera Palace is a charming budget hotel that offers an inviting blend of comfort and convenience. With just 12 elegantly furnished rooms, each equipped with air conditioning and kitchenettes, guests can enjoy a cozy atmosphere that feels like home. The hotel's location near Mata Anandmayi Ghat makes it easy to explore the city's famous ghats, although it's slightly tucked away from the main road requiring a short walk.
I had a fantastic experience staying at this hotel. The location is perfect just a short walk or a small rickshaw ride from the main temple, which made it very convenient for darshan and early morning visits. The food was delicious and had a good variety of options, both in terms of taste and hygiene. What truly made the stay memorable was the staff extremely courteous, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. Their hospitality added a personal touch to the entire experience. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. You can tell that cleanliness and guest comfort are a top priority here. Overall, a great place to stay for anyone visiting the temple. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it to others

If you're looking for a hotel with fantastic service and an unbeatable location close to the ghats, look no further than Hotel Riveria! Seriously, the staff and room service here are an absolute dream—they are super nice, attentive, and incredibly efficient! Whatever we needed, they delivered with a smile and brisk efficiency. Top marks for the wonderful, welcoming people who make this hotel shine! The location is a real treat for those who want to be close to the action! Yes, it's a little bit of a walk back from the main road, but honestly, that bit of peace is totally worth it because you are right there near the magnificent ghats! Perfect for those early morning dips or sunset views! Just a little heads-up: The Wi-Fi wasn't cooperating during our stay, so if you absolutely need a strong connection for work or streaming, be sure to have a backup plan!

“Very bad ” Rude and unprofessional .....many times i have told the receptionist but room was not cleaned . I said many times ,then complementary water was given at night .... Extra food charged(approx 2500)aaded at checkout time , when I told him(manager sonu kumar) and explained it nicely, he didn't even say sorry. And look at me with very cold face expression. I paid 8500 per night for one room... Do you want this type of service by paying so much? Very bad experience

Extremely Unprofessional and Unsafe Experience I stayed at Rivera Palace recently, and had a very disturbing and unacceptable experience. In the afternoon, while I was asleep in my room with my wife, a hotel staff member entered our room without any permission. This was a complete breach of privacy and security. Despite immediately filing a complaint, the hotel took no action whatsoever. There was no apology, no explanation, and absolutely no sense of responsibility from the management. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional but deeply unsafe, especially for couples and families. I strongly advise others to reconsider staying at Rivera Palace if they value their privacy and security.

Hotel Temple On Ganges is a popular choice near Varanasi Railway Station, offering a peaceful atmosphere and stunning views of the ancient ghats. The hotel features warm rooms, some with river views, and an international restaurant serving Indian and continental dishes. Guests can enjoy free yoga lessons and access to a spa and wellness center.
Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely welcoming, polite, and always ready to help. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The location is perfect — very close to Assi ghat. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I look forward to coming back again❣️❣️😊😊.

I recently stayed at the Temple on Ganges hotel in Assi Ghat, Varanasi, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. This boutique hotel offers stunning views of the sacred Ganges River and is perfectly located for exploring the spiritual heart of Varanasi. The hotel's rooms are beautifully appointed, clean, and comfortable, with the views of the Ganges. The staff are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about local attractions and experiences. Overall, I'd highly recommend the Temple on Ganges hotel for its location, beautiful rooms, and warm hospitality. It's an ideal choice for travellers seeking a spiritual and peaceful stay in Varanasi.

Pros: - The location is fantastic, right on Assi Ghat. - The sunrise view of the Ganga is breathtaking. - The staff were good and the rooms were pleasant. Cons: - Felt overpriced for the quality of the room and amenities. A solid choice, but be prepared to pay for the prime location. For the better price, book your stay directly with them.

We booked a city view room. It had a common balcony, a window in the room opened on it. The food and room service was great. The bathroom was clean and large enough for one person to use very comfortably. It had a working AC, Room heater, mini fridge and TV. They have a very beautiful terrace garden open to everyone. Only thing missing was that they don't have any lifts, only stairs.

First of all thanks to Shri Ashutosh Pandey ji. He is extremely polite, cordial and helpful person and treated me like his younger brother. This beautiful hotel is located right next to Assi Ghat with a big parking space . The rooms are spotless, the air conditioning runs smoothly, and the food is excellent to be honest. It is a strictly vegetarian hotel with a charming heritage ambience, and you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Ganga from the balcony or the rooftop. I always prefer this hotel when I am with my family or friends.

⸻ I stayed at this hotel for three nights during my solo trip. I booked a single room, which was quite small but sufficient for one person. The room was clean and well-maintained, which I appreciated. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location — very convenient to Assi Ghat, making it easy to explore Varanasi. However, the surroundings of the hotel are quite dirty, which was disappointing. Overall, if your main focus is exploring the city and you don’t mind basic rooms, this hotel is a good option.

We had a good time in this hotel. the rooms were completely and workers are very polite. It can be noisy in the morning because of morning aarti on Assi ghat, but also, we were happy that it was very close to Assi ghat and we can enjoy the show and mornings boat ride

Nestled in the heart of Varanasi, Pristine Hotel offers a central location with easy access to popular attractions such as Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Dasaswamedh ghat. The hotel provides convenient amenities including complimentary Wi-Fi and concierge services. Guests can enjoy dining at Tea of Life restaurant or grab snacks at the on-site coffee shop/cafe. The hotel also hosts a daily complimentary reception for guests to mingle.
We recently stayed at Hotel Pristine, we are a family of 4 from South Africa and spent a week in Varanasi. Hotel Pristine went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. We had a gluten free traveler with us and Pristine ensured that they met all our dietary requirements. Umesh, the manager was very receptive towards our special needs and requests. Umesh is a true asset to the hotel. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. We have plans of returning to Varanasi in the near future and would (without a doubt) be staying at Hotel Pristine. Thanks Hotel Pristine for the unforgettable experience!

Guests have praised the spacious and clean rooms, as well as the supportive and helpful staff. The location offers easy access to local attractions and transport centers. While some found the location not ideal, others appreciated ample parking space and polite staff. Overall, guests enjoyed the delightful experience at this hotel with great hospitality, comfortable rooms, delicious food, and clean surroundings.
Amazing experience, everything here was perfect. Stayed there for two days, and had a wonderful time including a room upgrade. Rooms are good, clean and spacious. Not only the place offers you a peaceful stay but their services are great. All staffs are polite and helpful, room service is always on time. Good quality food, reasonable pricing. The parking is on the road just outside the facility but they have a 24 hour security. The property in close to bus stand and railway station so you have access to all the market nearby and you can get everything within walking distance. Temple is a little over 3KM so you can take auto as Varanasi has a big traffic problem and you do not find parking that easily.

I had hosted a function in this hotel as the location was good and the Infra was good. However, the service in the hotel is wretched, these guys don’t know the meaning of hospitality. If we go out for a party, the main thing a guest want is a good service. Here the hospitality team has no idea what a good service means, they are very depraved in this area, and they should at least learn something to be in market. NOTE- If anyone want poor service and spoil their function, I recommend this is the best place in city.

Hotel Four Season is a low-key accommodation option located near the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi. The rooms are simply decorated and spacious, featuring amenities such as TVs, sitting areas, and kettles. While the hotel's restaurant is not operational, they offer room service from external partners at reasonable rates. Guests have praised the cooperative and courteous staff who go above and beyond to assist with requests, even going so far as to courier forgotten items to guests' addresses.
Enjoyed 3 nights and 4 days with family in Hotel Four Season. Nice hotel. Clean Room. Room service is also very good. Proximity of Dashasamedh Ghat & Shri Kashi Viswanath Temple from hotel are good. Both places are very near to the Hotel. Just walking distance. Staff behaviour is also very good. Special mention Mr Anand Gupta Manager who is extremely cooperative. Last but not the list, fantastic parking space which is very rare in Varanasi city and that too also near to Viswanath temple.

To the owner; the guy at reception you have hired is not just rude but with lowest respect for guests. He doesn’t know how to respond positively and very rude. We took two rooms and stayed for two days, he denied car parking claiming it’s for online people and in night we saw no one had occupied. Later got to know that he sells those parking on rent. Secondly, he charged us extra for half day a whopping amount of 1500 till 6pm. And when asked for UPI payment, he denied and was adamant on cash only (we all know cash always goes in personal pocket not in owner’s account).

Rooms were dirty, bed sheets and towels were so dirty can’t use. I felt sick after check out from hotel as it was dusty, can’t walk without slippers in room even. The only basic thing they provided was hot water and AC.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location from the temple and ghats. Shree Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Dashashwamedh ghat, Manikarnika ghat, etc The rooms are very much ok, lift not working, no room service. We had a unpleasant experience during our stay in 1st week of April 2025. We were just given 2 towels & a small soap being a 3 star hotel. No dental kit, even the towels were not changed. We stayed there for 2 nights 3 days. Totally unprofessional staff. If you ask them about any place they will say no idea about any local place. They don't serve breakfast or anything.

One of the worst hotel in Varanasi. Should give -5 stars. Full payment was done before checkin. The sockets were out. Rooms were not clean. Receptionist was very very rude. No politeness. Worst behaviour. They dont have buffet breakfast. They get breakfast from some cheap place and give. That food was also not at all edible. They wont even refund. When asked, they are shouting at us we cant give refund. Pathetic receptionist. Never ever book this hotel

Poshtel VNS by Minimalist Hotels is a 3-star hotel located in the Varanasi Cantt district, just 3 km from Varanasi Junction Railway Station. The hotel offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and a restaurant on-site. Guests can enjoy room service, a 24-hour front desk, and currency exchange services. Its prime location makes it convenient for exploring nearby attractions like Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Dasaswamedh Ghat.
I recently stayed at Poshtel VNS in Varanasi and had a pleasant experience. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful, making the stay comfortable. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, though slightly smaller than expected. The food was delicious, and breakfast had a good variety. The location is peaceful, but a bit far from the main attractions, so travel arrangements might be needed. While the pricing felt a little high for the room size, the overall experience was positive. If you’re looking for a stylish and clean boutique stay with great service, this is a solid choice!

Manager is unprofessional and ruined our stay though property is good. Can avoid this property as many other good options are available in the same locality. The manager asks for money every hour and asks us to leave the property if not paying him as per his demand. That evening manager is the one with specs ON. Sitting in a locality of more than 30 hotels and expecting such unprofessional behaviour from a manager is a sign to simply not opt for this property and go for an alternative. Worst customer service encountered in a tourist place like Varanasi.

Shiva Ganges View is a serene hotel in Varanasi that offers laid-back suites with balconies and a rooftop providing stunning river views. For authentic Indian cuisine, guests can inquire about dining options at nearby restaurants like Dolphin, Rashmi Guest House, Ganges View Guesthouse, or Keshari. Additionally, visitors can experience the iconic Bread of Life Bakery & Restaurant established by an American interior designer and German flight attendant.
Lovely family ran hotel, clean with lots of hot water, perfect location right on the Ganges so close to everything you need to see. Staff are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Try to get a room with a terrace it's worth it. Roof top terrace has amazing views. We had their local guide Vikash for a day, it was well worth it, he got us to the places we needed to and was so knowledgable. The food is all cooked to order and everything we had was lovely. Taxi or Tuktuk can't access the hotel , it's an approx 6 minute walk, we used Google maps, if you call them they will send someone to assist with your luggage.

The accommodation is situated in a strategic aerea but very difficult to find arriving for the airport. Highly suggest to arrange with the the transport, cheap and very efficient, they will come to pick your luggage’s since the road is pedestrian and no cars are allowed. If AC not working, please complain and they will come to switch it on. Bedroom was quite big, as big was the bathroom.

It's a very shady place. From the main road you have to walk atleast for 500 meters of narrow & dirty lanes which has gobar, nalis full of stench, human faeces, stray dogs, cows......there are many good hotels in the city which are much cheaper. Finally we shifted the next day to coco cabana. They provided us with a suite( living room & bed room), welcome drink, cookies in the room, clean washroom with a shower cubical & very good service at much cheaper rate than than Shiv view ganges.

the hotel is in a great place and the view from there is beautiful. the rooms are also great. however, the owner reassured us that the food eaten there would be safe (and the cleanest in the city), and after I exclusively ate there for two days I developed a nasty intestinal flu that pinned me to bed for two days straight. I wouldn't trust the food there, especially the lassi.

Overall a great stay. Will surely visit again

Battle the small laneways to get to hotel, but great views and hosts, food genuine. Ganges River is busy and riverbanks easy access, warning 150 steps from River to the hotel.
Steven R — Google review
Location is very unsafe for solo travellers and old people as no direct access. We had to walk about 600 m through very narrow and dirty lanes. Lanes are occupied by stray animals and shit is everywhere. Vicinity to Ganges is useless as whole time the Ghat is crowded by half naked people and seems unsafe. Overly priced , not worth at all.
Asha R — Google review
#1. Rooms: old rooms with a view of ganges but extremely tiny bathrooms and wcs in bad condition #2. Service: staff is extremely helpful and well mannered and take care guests needs nicely #3. Location: Horrible approach to the location as it's located in ghats. Narrow dirty lanes, houseflies, garbage lying all over the lanes is not acceptable!! And the most painful thing is, there is no vehicle access to the stay!! We have to walk a km or two through the dirty narrow lanes to reach the roads to get a vehicle!! Impossible for aged and small kids!! Please don't book this stay if you are hygiene concerned!

Their exceptional hospitality made our stay memorable. The hotel boasts clean and spacious rooms that provide comfort after a day of exploring nearby temples and ghats.

Stayed for two nights . Overpriced. Size of rooms is not in line with the kinda money being charged. They charge you Rs 50 for a small bisleri bottle. The lid of the electric kettle was broken. Why was it not checked b4 the check in? The so called breakfast is a sham with very limited options and unpalatable food. No eggs. The tea was like as if it was boiled repeatedly . Yuck !! House keeping was not up to the mark. Steer clear of this hotel . You can find better options at this price. Disaster, Distasteful. Felt cheated

We had booked 5 rooms and 11 people,we stayed here for 4 nights Firstly we stayed for 2 nights, then again we stayed for 2 nights,2 rooms were big enough But 3 rooms were very small,we keep 2 suitcases it’s very difficult, the reception staff at night shift were very rude,I spoke to GM regarding change of room of 3 rooms,he denied immediately telling me its full. But some rooms were empty, where I had booked the rooms 4 months in advance and informed them to give good rooms ,inspite of that they gave us very small rooms,no point in booking in advance,it was very disappointing. The person and GM don’t value their customers.we had 5 senior citizens, But food was awesome,it was really good. But service was poor,we had to wait for 1 hour.

I had high hopes for Vedangum Restaurant, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfying. The food lacked freshness and flavor — what was supposed to be a traditional and rich meal felt bland and poorly prepared. The service was slow and inattentive, and the staff seemed disorganized, which only added to the frustration. The Paneer Lababdar and baby corn was a complete disaster — bland, oily, and the paneer itself was rubbery and clearly not fresh. It lacked the richness and flavor that this dish is known for. Honestly, I’ve had better versions at small dhabas. As for the Fruit Custard, it was even worse — watery, overly sweet, and filled with tasteless canned fruits. It felt more like a rushed afterthought than an actual dessert.

The Sahi River View Guest House is a friendly and affordable place to stay in the city of Varanasi. The rooms are good and clean, despite the beaten-up appearance of the building, and the view from the balcony is excellent. The guest house is a good budget hotel.
We had a lovely stay at Sahi River View Guest House. The location, the staff, the cleanliness and the food , all are top notch. The guest house is at just 2 minutes walk from Assi Ghat, where the Gangaji Aarti and Subah-e-Banaras musical programme can be enjoyed every morning. The Manager, Mr. Jitender, is a very courteous, supportive and helpful person. He accommodated our requests as regards booking our room on phone, providing the room with a beautiful view, arranging a late night dinner when we landed and arranging our transport to Prayagraj. The chef Ms.Shikha cooks awesome, finger licking food, which can be enjoyed on the well managed terrace with the stunning views of Gangaji. The helping staff Ravi and one more guy are always there to help with the luggage and cheerfully opening the house at early and late hours. In all, we had a wonderful stay at the property. Would love to come back.

We had a great time at the Sahi River View Guest House. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and clean, and the air conditioning was very welcome. The location is close to the Assi Ghat, and we had a balcony outside our two rooms over looking the river. Jitendra (the owner) and the rest of the staff were very helpful, and they even popped out to a pharmacist for us when we needed some medication. The breakfasts were also excellent. Highly recommended.

We had an excellent 4 night stay in this guesthouse! The best parts are the location and the kind help of the staff. There is always someone in reception and they are glad to help with everything. The room we took was pretty standard. The hotel has a nice terrace and serves food and drinks.

Excellent location. Morning arati is just 2 min walk on Assi Ghat! Service and manager is top notch . It is a guest house so please don't expect five tar amenities but for ac, tv, hot water everything is just there. Rooms are not quiet due to busy traffic area. Management is very knowledgeable about the local area and helped us to get a taxi as well as a local guide for saree shopping!

The main USP of this hotel is location and Its best when it comes to Value for Money .Its just in front of Assi Ghat . This hotel has a very old charm which I liked very much . Many rooms have balconies from where one can enjoy Arati and good view of Ma Ganga.. Dont expect any room service as its a very budget hotel .Food was good , if ask in time they will prepare diner lunch breakfast . Rooms are clean newly renovated with false ceilling and all . But i think bed sheets should have been better same goes for towels. Also they dont provide any dental kits and all , so traveller will have to buy those by themselves. As i mentioned it is a good value for money stay in a fantastic location with old days charm.

Excellent location Cleanliness above expectations Spacious room with balcony and proper AC Very polite & helpful manager Jitendra ji. Budget friendly. Morning Arati of Assi Ghat can be witnessed from terrace garden. Location, space &. Budget is a rare combination in Varanasi. This was luckily turned out to be an exception for me.

I loved this place, the lovely helpful staff, the view from the big balcony (the Ganga !!!) with the large bed and comfy and the huge bathroom. The old style house, and the savoury breakfast. Nothing was wrong. Including the price ! And very very close to Assi Ghat where so many amazing things happen

Jitendra the manager is the best ! Helpful kind and knowledgeable. The onsite cook is brilliant, her kitchen is spotless and the home made yogurt is delicious. Between them they made my six week stay more than just comfortable. I felt safe and cared for whilst being right on the Ganga and able to walk into the heart of Assi Ghat and return to the peaceful front veranda of the Sahi River Guest House. The building once belonged to the King of a nearby principality, take a good look around for the quirky architecture and additions or modifications over the many years. This one is a gem.

Monuments & Statues
Dhamekh Stupa, situated in Sarnath near Varanasi, India, is a significant ancient Buddhist monument dating back to 500 CE. Originally built by Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE, it has undergone various renovations over time. The stupa stands at 43 meters tall and features intricate carvings depicting birds and scripts from the Gupta period. This cylindrical structure is believed to mark the location where Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment.
The entry ticket to this place is only Rs. 25 for the Indians. Its a little ahead of the Sarnath temple. We hired a guide but he was only interested to take us to local village so that he could sell us the benarasi sarees. When we refused to go to the village, he simply left us outside Sarnath. He didn't even tell where is Dhamek Stupa located. We started walking ahead, there were no proper directions given through signboards. I had to ask around. There was a queue for tickets, you could skip it by scanning the QR code near the entry gate. Once inside, the view is lovely. The ruins sprawl in a gigantic area. Its very well maintained, very picturesque. Every corner is a photo zone. There are proper ASI boards inside to tell about the significance of the ruins.

This is one of sacred place where buddha gave his 1st sermon or discourse. The discourse of middle path, the eight fold noble path , the 4 Noble Truth to the 5 monks. Dhammachakra pabattana sutra. Very nice place with vibration of buddha. 🧘‍♀️ ting for few minutes or more is advised here to feel the actual place and pay homage to buddha.

A truly peaceful and spiritually powerful place! The Dhamek Stupa stands as one of the most significant Buddhist monuments in India — marking the very spot where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon after enlightenment. The moment you enter the complex, you can feel a deep sense of calm and sacred energy in the air. The stupa itself is massive and beautifully constructed — even after so many centuries, its carvings and symmetry are awe-inspiring. The surrounding garden is well maintained, clean, and ideal for a slow walk or meditation. The Archaeological Survey of India has done a good job preserving the site, and the information boards help visitors understand the historical importance. There are also ruins of ancient monasteries nearby and a museum just outside the main gate that houses relics, including the famous Ashokan Lion Capital, India’s national emblem. Local guides are available (for a small charge) and are worth hiring if you want to truly understand the history and symbolism. Tickets: ₹25 for Indians (₹20 online via ASI portal) and ₹300 for foreigners. No Camera fee . Tickets are available both offline and online at the entrance. I reached here easily by shared auto from Varanasi, costing just ₹60 per head 10–12 km ride. The nearby museum with the Ashokan Lion Capital is also worth visiting(ticket included with it). Overall, Dhamek Stupa is not just a tourist spot — it’s a timeless reminder of peace, mindfulness, and human compassion. A must-visit for anyone coming to Varanasi.
Manoram S — Google review
Visiting Dhamek Stupa in Sarnath was a truly spiritual and peaceful experience. The place holds great historical and religious significance, being one of the most important Buddhist sites where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. The architecture is stunning, and the surrounding garden area is well maintained, adding to the serenity of the location. The vibe here feels calm and divine, perfect for meditation or quiet reflection. The guides explain the history beautifully, and the nearby museum is worth visiting too. Overall, a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Varanasi or interested in India’s ancient heritage.

The Dhamek Stupa in Sarnath is one of the most revered and impressive Buddhist monuments in India. Built initially by Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE and later enlarged, it marks the sacred spot where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon to his five disciples after attaining enlightenment. The massive cylindrical structure, made of stone and brick, stands about 43.6 meters high and 28 meters in diameter. Intricate carvings of flowers, human figures, and geometric designs on the lower portion reflect the fine craftsmanship of ancient India. The site radiates a deep sense of peace and spirituality, attracting pilgrims and history lovers from all over the world. Surrounded by lush gardens and other ruins of monasteries, the Dhamek Stupa remains a timeless symbol of the Buddha’s teachings and India’s spiritual heritage.
Sankalp A — Google review
Stupa is good. BUT BE WARY OF GUIDES here. He said in ₹100 he will show us all the sites in this complex. But he took us to the main temple, spent hardly 7 minutes. And took us to some handloom dress shop nearby. His main interest was commission from the shop. We didn't buy anything and the guide lost all interest in us. Forced us to give him ₹ 100 and he disappeared. Some suitable action should be taken to prevent such activities.
Alok — Google review
A wonderful place for all. If you are in Varanasi and don't visit this place, you will miss a lot about an Indian historical place. The most I love was the Ashoka Pillar with four lion head, which is the emblem of India. For Buddhists, it is obviously the great place of pilgrimage.

The Dhamek Stupa in Sarnath is a large and impressive structure that marks the spot where Buddha gave his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Built with intricate stone and brick carvings, the stupa reflects ancient Indian architecture and craftsmanship. The area around the stupa is peaceful, with open space to walk and admire the monument. Visiting Dhamek Stupa gives a strong sense of history, spirituality, and the deep roots of Buddhism in Sarnath.

The residency at Kriti became my second home. In a city bustling with people and vehicles, the residency certainly is a wonderful respite amidst all the greens and the space that it provides. It was wonderful to be a part of the creative people that were staying there at that time. Both Navneet and Petra are the most gracious hosts and go out of their way to make you feel at home. I will always cherish all the wonderful times that I spent there. It definitely gives you much more than expected. And to be amongst creative people in such a beautiful space definitely leaves you inspired. I cannot wait for an opportunity to go back there again.

A great platform for learning and exchange of art. I have lived in Varanasi for more than 20 years from late 60`s to late 80`s and have watched and attended many art exhibitions. But after visiting this `Kriti`s setup I found it amazing. A world class setup for preserving Art and an Art Gallery keeping all the art lover alive and engaged through versatile true art exhibitions of world class which was not possible for the locals , Indians and foreign visitors to see the work of world class artists. The setup to stay there and work in such a beautiful green and natural environment really keeps you like living in a crowded city still away from the noise and having the best surroundings to keep your art excelling.

I had an amazing experience at the Kriti Residency, Varanasi. I spent a month for an Artist-In-Residence Programme there, and was welcomed and helped in the process of creation of my photography project. Navneet Raman & Petra Manefeld, the Raman family and all the staff were exquisitely kind and helpful. The studios are clean and big, fully equipped and comfortable. The "knowledge of the city" of all the staff was precious for me in order to get contacts inside the city. The Gallery itself is a great and quiet space in busy city, probably the best Art Gallery in Varanasi. Plus, the food is amazing!

Wander Station Varanasi is a casual hostel with streamlined dorms and funky rooms, featuring a rooftop restaurant. The staff are helpful and can assist in booking tours, such as the popular sunrise tour. The location is in the heart of small backstreets, offering an authentic experience for first-time Varanasi travelers. While some minor cleanliness issues were noted, the hostel overall was clean and organized with communicative and responsible staff.
Best Place for Backpackers in Varanasi They've got one of the best staffers. They were so generous that they get anything done. When my bike couldn't get in, the staff helped me park my bike in a safe location and carry my luggage to hostel. They also helped me with timings of temples, local sightseeing, etc The rooms were pretty neat and we'll maintained. The bathrooms were clean and sufficient for entire 14 bed dorm. That was an amazing setup. The owner was very friendly too. He suggested me various places to visit and the timings too. The vibe of this hostel is different too. The terrace is the party place and you could sit there all night talking to new people. I had a great time at this hostel and would definitely visit them again.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms are very neat and clean, and the rooftop food was excellent. The location is perfect just walking distance from the temples and the ghats. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Overall, I enjoyed my stay in Varanasi a lot. Highly recommended

We highly recommend staying at Wander Station Varanasi. The location is great because you are in the heart of the city where you can FEEL how life is in Varanasi. The room and toilet were very clean. The staff was really nice and helped us giving us the best advice to enjoy Varanasi as much as possible in just one day. We did the morning boat tour, the walking tour in the northern part of the city and we finished the day at the Ganga Aarti. 5/5!!! Don't doubt, stay at Wander Station Varanasi!
Florencia F — Google review
Located a short walk from Dashashwamedh ghat, and quite in the middle of the famous galis of Banaras, this hostel is difficult to reach as there is no road commutable by auto or four wheeler that reaches upto the hostel. Two wheelers can get you the closest, if at all they are willing to traverse the galis. The stay and the facilities are satisfactory. However, they have a ridiculous check out time of 10 AM in the morning, which felt like a rip-off. The maintenance is okay and the dorms were continuously cleaned. There's a common area on the ground floor anda restaurant in the rooftop which gives you a wide angle view of Kashi. The food was decent. All in all, I believe that the location makes up for a lot of its shortcomings. Ideal for backpackers and solo travellers.
Youkayvee — Google review
Truly a weird stay at Wander Station. 1. Getting here in the evening is quite difficult, the hostel is in a random alleyway in the ghatts and there is almost no signage outside, dog excrement everywhere, no lighting. Maybe a video showing how to get through the ghatts or even some more signage from the main streets could be improved. Maybe an escort from the street when arriving in the evening would be useful instead of try to navigate on google maps. 2. Cleanliness outside is just horrendous. The hostel could at least clean the street right in front of the hostel so travellers don’t have to step in excrement and garbage on the final stretch there. It stinks and it’s poorly lit. 3. I didn’t have any hot water throughout my 2 night stay, I asked reception 5 times (not an exaggeration)to adress this issue, they kept telling me they would send someone, no one ever came to help. I eventually gave up after waiting for so long. 4. Airport drop off was a joke. I paid 1200 for the taxi to show up 20mins late, I left hostel at 8:40, the taxi didn’t show up until 9am. Then the taxi driver had the audacity to ask me for a parking charge of 60 rupee at the airport, 1. He had no change on him, and 2. I already payed 1200!! 5. People in the dorms were constantly loud, had no regard for switching on the lights in the middle of the night, having loud conversations early in the morning or late at night, maybe having some rules on display in the room would help. And a contact for the caretakers would be an improvement. Overall I would not recommend this hostel to anyone.

Really, we had a wonderful time while staying. The interior decoration is one of the reason this is going to be memorable and the rooms are very nice , we have really loved the bed, the food from the rooftop café is amazing and their hospitality too... Thank you for these sweet three days.
Pritam S — Google review
The place is well maintained but the location sucks ! It is intricately inside the alleys are super dirty and difficult to trace if you are coming by yourself, while they do promise to send someone to guide I wasn’t fortunate. The roof top restaurant is nice with music and views but misses the mark in maintenance, quick service sort of a 3/5. The rooms are kept clean and the bathrooms too.. As a summary of you are looking for a backpackers hostel low on budget ..for 2days the package is Ok. A Tip: Avoid it in case of a viral spread is in news. The air ventilation is nil with the only slot the AC.

One of the best hostel for backpackers in Banaras , I had a pleasent stay in there , staff were helpful ,rooms were clean . They had a common area where one could wait for sometime after check out or before check in . So all in all its a complete value for money .

We stayed at goSTOPS for 2 nights in a private room and had a great experience overall. We arrived late at night, and the staff were very accommodating and welcoming. Initially, we were given a room where the AC wasn’t working, but upon request, they promptly shifted us to a better room without any hassle. Really appreciated how responsive they were. The food service is decent—perfect for a quick bite when you don’t want to step out. The only minor inconvenience is that room access is via mobile phone, which can be a bit tricky at times. The staff were helpful throughout our stay and even guided us on places to visit in the city. The location is excellent—just about 15 minutes from the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and surrounded by good restaurants. Definitely worth every penny, and I’d happily stay here again!

The rooms are more spacious the average rooms. Location is perfect as it is not in the middle of hustle but still close to all the touristy spots. The service is really not great. I requested to help with my luggage twice but ended up dragging it the floors myself. Once it was raining so ordered some snacks from the cafe like nachos and burgers only to be delivered in more than 1.5 hours and not even tasted good. Expected better service in the price we paid.

Terrible Experience! We booked 2 private rooms for one night but were allotted rooms on the ground floor, where heavy construction was going on in nearby rooms and on other floors. The constant construction noise made it impossible to rest properly. On top of that, there was water leaking right outside our room from an AC or similar source, and despite repeated complaints, no action was taken. Even in the common area, the foosball table was poorly maintained, with a missing black handle on one of the rods.
Neha A — Google review
Used to be My Go to Place of stay when in Varanasi. But the place is too old now and needs a revamp. At least need a repaint. The common area was not even usable during My stay. Had to be careful while using the common washroom. When the heater is on, all taps gives a zap. Very Risky !

I had a wonderful stay here. The location is away from the crowd and peaceful. The also have an in house cafe where you can order through their app. To be honest the food and beverages are not great. They have a small common area as well. If you're coming on your own vehicle, then you need to park on the street cause they don't have a separate parking area.
Aswin R — Google review
1. Electrical and Maintenance Issues: There were a few open wires around the premises, which felt unsafe and poorly maintained. The walls also seemed damp (wall dampness) in some areas, giving an impression that proper upkeep and ventilation are missing. 2. Smell and Cleanliness: There was a noticeable smell in certain parts of the hostel, possibly due to poor ventilation or cleaning. This affected the overall comfort level during the stay. 3. Common Area: The common area was not very well-maintained. It lacked a welcoming or clean atmosphere, which is disappointing because this space is usually where guests relax or socialize. 4. Common Washroom Facilities: The common washroom could use a lot of improvement — the lighting was poor, and there were no basic amenities like shower gel or shampoo. Additionally, there was no proper changing area, which made using the facilities inconvenient.

A true example of excellent hospitality. Without doubt one of the favouritej hotels I stayed during my time in Varanasi Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by manager RAJ, our names were mentioned on the board and we were given rooms. The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant very flexible (appreciate this!) and the cafe on top floor is fabulous and the guy who made masala tea deserves a special thanks. We had four great evenings here, which obviously also added up to the experience. Raj is always available and provides what all you need like travel plans, better places to eat.

I stayed with my four friends in zostel Varanasi for two days. It was my first time staying in a hostel type atmosphere and also first trip with my friends. The stay was very eventful and pleasant. The staff are very helpful and friendly, special mention to Mr Raj (bhaiya), the property manager, he helped us a lot and what a gem of a person he is. Thanks to him our trip went smoothly. He arranged boat ride for us early morning at 4:40am in Ganges, we boated for 2hrs saw the sunrise, morning aarti, etc. Also the food in the Zostel is super good. I caught a cold before coming here so I was finding it difficult to have local delicacy like Thandai, Chat etc mostly made of curd or milk. I ate dinner for two days in Zostel and food prepared was great not to mention the fantastic vibe the rooftop cafe has, a person (sorry i am bad with names) from Nainital who used to live in Delhi hosted us on behalf of Zostel staff. Also fellow travellers here are very friendly and warm. I would strongly recommend everyone to experience living in Zostel at least once in their lifetime. Ending with happiness and good memories to cherish forever. Cheers

Also had a great time with Shiva, he took us around and knows the city on the back of his hand! We had a great time here, highly recommend. :)

We've had an amazing experience in Zostel Varanasi. The rooms are clean and the food is just delicious. But the thing that really made it great - was the staff. Very helpful, cheerful and friendly - it really felt like home. Every day they organized some kind of activity - whether it was movie night, live concert or photo tours - it was a lot of fun. Really recommend this place and if we'll be back to Varanasi - definitely visit it again.

I spent the lock down totate of India in this hostel, 1 whole month, I got to know the owners and the guys of the stuff they were very nice and helpful people. Very spacious place with large room to meet and exchange stories and travel adventures with other travelers. room for watching TV, films, documentaries, and some Hindi lessons ... well-equipped rooms and bunk beds. generally well cleaned and tidy. you can spend nice evenings before going to sleep. appetizing

The good part about this place is the person managing the place, Raj was very helpful and trying his best to make your stay memorable. Free Wi-Fi with excellent strength. Common area was good with creative wall paintings. They have a locker room so in case you have evening train ot flight, you need not worry about your baggage and also you can use the common area even after check-out. About the property - the bed was not so clean, uncomfortable mattres, dirty blankets, dirty dormitory walls, the bed lamp did not work, the washroom shower was leaking so the washroom was wet all the time. No option for a separate female dormitory and they won't care whom they tie you up with so females please be cautious because it's UP after all. Don't bother to reach early before the check in time because they will make you wait till 12pm even if the hostel is all empty and they will charge INR 100 for every half hr or so for late check-out. Carry your own locks because you will have to buy one from them for a small amount of INR 30. They have a cafeteria with very limited options and the taste is just okay. Location is a few kms from the ghats so you might have to take an auto or uber, you can prefer staying in a cleaner hostels near the Ghats with no transport cost at all. The surroundings/ streets are not clean in either of the places.
