Food is amazingly good. Owner is very kind and the restaurant has a very charming decoration. We tried chicken tandoori and it was delicious. Aloo dum baranasi, malai kofta and kadai paneer were fantastic too. All is prepared fresh in the kitchen. The cheesecake is nice as well!

This charming cafe has been running for 30 years, and the owner was incredibly sweet and welcoming. The apple pie was absolutely to die for-the crust just melted in my mouth! The cheesecake was light and delicious, and the masala tea was perfect. We discovered this gem on our last day but loved it so much that we made sure to visit twice

I had breakfast here with my mother m. We’re from the Netherlands and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and the cozy atmosphere. The cheese omelette was perfectly cooked, light and full of flavor. And the yoghurt is real, fresh yoghurt absolutely delicious! The staff is also incredibly kind and welcoming. A friendly little place with a mighty menu. New Bread of Life was recommended by our hotel a few doors down. We thought, “Why not?” since we could almost fall out of our hotel’s lobby into the restaurant, and we were feeling particularly lazy about battling scooters for walking space to anywhere much farther. I wasn’t looking for the best paneer butter masala I’ve ever had, but I found it here. Perhaps this is blasphemous, considering the dish’s Delhi origins. I did have it at one of the places in Delhi that is believed to have invented it; theirs was good, but not as good as this, in my opinion. New Bread of Life’s chef is definitely their secret weapon. His fried rice is excellent. We had the corn soup flavored with ginger—also excellent. We tried the fresh-baked apple pie—excellent. We liked everything enough to return multiple times over the course of our week in Varanasi. The owner and staff really give you the feeling they’re happy to have you as their guest—this is while you’re sitting there eating, for a pittance, some of the best-tasting dishes anyone has possibly ever prepared for you.

The best Cheesecake in India! Happened to just enter this establishment as I was walking towards Assi, as the name Bread of Life reminded me of a wonderful bakery in Manali. I'm glad that I did. It was the best cheesecake that I had in India, the owner was so polite, the ambience was old school. I totally recommend this establishment.

This restaurant was so good that I had to revisit this place multiple times. The food here was amazing, economically priced and the portions were enough to satisfy 1 person. The best part about this restaurant is their staff, very friendly and professional. I really enjoyed talking with them. And the owner was an absolute gem person. After having some chat with the wonderful owner, I got to know that his family lived in Bangladesh (East Pakistan) and moved to India post or pre partition. Quite a fascinating story it was. And regarding the food, I tried their Chinese dishes, chana masala and roti, apple pie and hot chocolate & lemon tea (not available on the menu, but owner customised it personally for me), and their fish fry. All of them were excellent. The food is freshly cooked, so there is a big wait time, so you gotta have patience. And the old wooden chair and table ambience gave me the vibes as if I'm sitting in a Parsi or Irani cafe.

IG: whereiswendy Went to visit this bakery a few times for breakfast and brunch. It’s a cozy old place that looks like it’s an old house converted into a bakery/restaurant. The menu is simple. We ordered a vegetarian dishes, fried rice and tandoori roti. It was really tasty! The food itself was delicious, but the portion was very small for the price point. If you come here starving, you’ll have to order two or maybe three dishes. The bakery part of this shop had very few options, not sure if they bake on a different day of the week, but they only had brownies cupcakes, cookies and the apple pie. I ordered the chocolate cupcake and again, super! They even warm it for you. The owners were really sweet, helpful and cheerful. Always had a big smile on their faces. Very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, I would recommend this and would love to visit again.

Good food with breathtaking views of the Ganges. We had a pizza and a pasta and both tasted nice. However, we found a hair in the apple pie which they promptly replaced. The second time too, same story, after which we dropped the idea of having apple pie altogether. The whatever little portion we had before the hair, tasted delicious though. Finding a seat during peak hours can be difficult, but we didn't have to wait long as two sweet English ladies agreed to share their table with us.

Nice place to hangout with friends & family. Would not recommended for senior citizens or any one having walking problem, reaching there is difficult. Place is really good for food. There is limited seating area, that's why one has to wait for 10-20 mins for getting a table. Behavior of staffs is really good, well managed. Liked there pizzas & mainly Apple Pie with Ice-cream. Price is OK. No parking available. Situated just beside Assi Ghat. Follow google map or ask anyone to reach. One can visit this place just after Assi Ghat evening aarti. Highly recommended.

We went for breakfast . It was not crowded, mind you it gets pretty crowded in the evening. One has to wait for 2-3 hours. Food was very tasty. We ordered special their famous Apple pie with icecream. It was freshly baked, very soft with little hint of cinnamon. We also tried there homemade ravioli pasta which I personally didn’t like It was worst & quantity was also less compared toprice Only issue we found and also discussed it with the owner was cleanliness and more maintenance of the property. Totally worth all the buzz - this cafe did not disappoint! Their wood-fired pizzas were baked to perfection, but their apple pie with ice cream - it's seriously to die for - a must try dessert here. The ambience is calm and cozy, the staff were super nice and quick too. But the cherry on top is the view - sitting by the Ganga and enjoying pizza and apple pie makes it a complete experience. Definitely recommended - no second thoughts!

If you're at Varanasi and find yourself near Assi Ghat, Pizzeria Vatika Cafe is an absolute must visit. Nestled right on the Ghats with a serene view of the Ganges, the atmosphere here is both peaceful and vibrant a perfect blend of traditional charm and relaxed cafe vibes. While their pizzas are quite popular, the real standout for me was their Apple pie with vanilla ice cream. It's honesty one of the best I've ever had. The pie is freshly baked with a butterly, flaky crustand warm spiced apples that taste homemade and comforting. Paired with a generous scoop of smooth vanilla ice cream, it's a dessert that hits every note: warm, cold, sweet and slightly tart. Note- The waiting time is a lot(20-30min) so be prepared for that. Overall 5/5 for everything Highly recommend- especially for dessert lovers ❤️

The best pizza I had in Varanasi. I loved their Fresh Ginger Punch, everyone must try. The cafe is near the Assi Ghat, which gives a mesmerizing view of Ganga Ghat.

Food was really nice but the first time I went the service was painfully slow. Second time it was very quick so maybe they were having an off day. The chili Gouda sandwich was so nice. Also the crepes are unreal - I had the lemon sugar and it was so good.

Visited this cafe for good vibes and food but had a terrible experience, so dont waste your time. The food was legit inedible for humans maybe animals also. Ordered burgers which had stale bread and were deep fried. The burger tasted like it was expired. Tried pasta which was even worse. No taste no flavour just tomato puree. Lastly tried pancake which had diluted watery nutella and was undercooked looked like aata dough. In short dont visit for food. The rooftop view is still fine crawling with lizards. Even the washroom’s had no working flush or basic hygiene.

Loved the vibe here with nice background coffee shop music. Sat downstairs but they have a rooftop as well. Baked goods (particularly cinnamon rolls) are great, good coffee, plus their mains are great too! Good spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Plus their profits go to supporting a school for disadvantaged children, which makes everything even better.

Aim cafe was a good breakfast spot. The coffee (cappuccino) was a let down but the chocolate banana pancake made up for it. It's chocolate chip pancake topped with chocolate syrup, bananas and a sweet very creamy meringue style cream, which was tasty. Also had a fruit salad to get some freshness. Would recommend for breakfast!

A cozy little terrace converted into a sitting area with limited seats just behind Assi Ghat. Variety of veg/vegan menus, lovely cakes, bun makes this place very unique. Every item served here are prepared by them. Very clean and well trained staff. I ordered a white sauce vegetable pasta. It was good, but was quite blond, very less spicy. The owner tried to help me with some additional home made tomato sauce. Unfortunately, I could not consume as I was used to spicy gravy pasta. The owner refused to charge me since I did not enjoy the pasta. She was so kind and made me to understand that all her food items are targeted to serve western customers and hence less spicy. But the cake, bun, bread served were out of the world. I need to visit again to taste their food. Strongly recommended Aum Cafe for anyone visiting Assi ghat.

We absolutely love this place! We ate here two days in a row and ordered almost everything on the menu, the lassi was amazing. The Chai, the pancake and vegan eggs. The menu was so cool with lots of tips and fun facts. We will probably go back again before we leave, thank you Shivani! So kind and lovely 🥰

Amazing place. Everything was on point! Many American/European options are available and well prepared. Food is tasty and I highly recommend it for someone who wants a little break from Indian food ;). Service speaks English and is very polite and helpful. Whole place is situated ona quiet road so it’s comfy and quiet here. Oatmeal and fruit salad was exactly what I needed and I’m completely satisfied with portion, price and taste :)

Cozy little cafe on 2nd floor of a quiet lane in the winding streets of Varanasi run exclusively by women serving the most amazing atypical food. They aren’t open late but when in the town, do stop by for a lunch and u won’t regret. It’s all vegetarian but you won’t miss out on good food here. The cafe is located In a small side street close to Assi Ghat. We can highly recommend it for anybody wishing to have a western type breakfast. We had great pancakes, granola and fruit salad. The Cappuccino was good and the Lemon Lassi a dream! the food and dishes are all washed with filtered water!) We came back twice and also re-met other travellers who did the same. There are many more vegan and non vegan food and tea options available! … and we even got the „free hugs“ from the lovely (American) owner, as promised on the sign in front of the cafe. 😁 In summary: A wonderful experience and „Must go to place“ in Varanasi!

It’s a home stay very near to Ghat. The rooms are newly built, neat and clean. It’s right on the ghat so reaching there by any vehicle is not possible. But they support a lot to bring you there. All religious activities are at walking distance and their key person Rinku is there to guide you. Rinku not only guide you to all religious places nearby like Kashi Bishwanath Temple, Aarti on boat ride, Kal Bhairav temple etc but also saves your money by giving right advise. The food they make is homely and delicious. If you want to experience the old traditions of Varanasi must stay there.

Highly recommend booking a cooking class with Samtha! She lets you pick 4 dishes from the menu - we made paneer butter masala, dal makni, biriyani and aloo paratha. All were super tasty and it was fascinating to learn and see the cooking process. You can sit and eat in the cafe afterwards or take the food you made away with you. Samtha was lovely & welcoming and a great teacher. Thank u so much!! ✨

Varanasi Cafe is fantastic! The food is amazing and the owners are so kind. I was lucky enough to get to take a cooking class with the lovely chef-owner Samta. She asked me to choose items from her menu to make, so we made Garlic Naan, Daal Fry, Veg Biryani and Veg Paneer Curry. She was so kind and welcoming and her kitchen was very clean and sanitary. She taught me how to work with Indian spices like tumeric, cardamom, cumin seeds, coriander & her very special homemade masala (she roasts and grinds 21 spices to make it). She make working with the spices and flavors very easy. We even made naan from scratch!! The dishes were all flavorful, but not too spicy. She was happy to work just with me, or she would have let my husband join if he wanted to.. he was happy just to get to eat the delicious food! I was very excited to learn that I could purchase some of her homemade masala to bring back to California. Whether you are going for breakfast, lunch or dinner, this place is sooo good! If you are looking for a fun, special activity, take the cooking class! It was very reasonably priced and you get to eat your delicious meal when you’re done.

I stumbled into Varanasi Cafe & Bakery for some chai and stayed for the company. The cafe is a lovely place to sip tea and watch the foot traffic —the quietest place I’ve found in town since the only access is by stairs, no scooters or motorcycles. The coffee here is the best I’ve had since coming to India (I highly recommend the French Coffee served in a bowl). Samta, the owner, is lovely. She teaches cooking classes in the evenings and she runs a tidy kitchen. Her Indian dishes are a fantastic range of flavors and styles. She’s a full on chef! Prasiddha Chachi Ki Kachori is one of those timeless Banarasi gems where food is served with both flavor and love. Started in 1915, this humble spot has been feeding generations, and the warmth of the owners is as memorable as the food itself. What immediately stands out is the creativity in its setting. Old oil tins are cleverly repurposed into seats and tables, neatly covered with mats. It adds a rustic charm and makes the experience feel uniquely local. We had kachori with aloo sabzi and hot jalebis, all of which were excellent. The kachoris were crisp and hearty, the sabzi full of flavor, and the jalebis fresh and perfectly sweet. Everything is reasonably priced, making it as accessible as it is delicious. Located just near the famous Pahalwan Lassi, this place is a must try if you want a taste of Banaras beyond the tourist trail. It is not just about eating, it is about being part of a tradition that has carried on for more than a century.

They are well-known for their kachori sabji with jalebi. The quantity is good. The kachoris are too tasty, crispy endings and the sabji is made of pumpkin and aloo with hing ka tadka. You will get jalebis as well-you need not ask for jelebis seperately-you are automatically served the plate. The kachori sabji and jalebi are freshly served-all are garam garam. Superb experience. Have it with kulhad chai-it will taste heavenly. Outdoor seating is their main highlight.

The place lacks hygiene and basic seating—visitors are made to sit on makeshift setups using empty oil containers. If you’re concerned about cleanliness, it’s best to skip it. Traditional Varanasi food seems to be losing its charm, replaced by commercialization and inflated prices. Even popular spots like Fine dining serve only average foods now. This place reflects the broader disappointment one might face in Varanasi’s once-celebrated street food scene. A visit here might leave you more frustrated than fulfilled. Varanasi deserves better, and so do its visitors. Not recommended for those seeking quality, hygiene, or authenticity.

Samosa, loung Lata, boondi, bread pakoda, cutlet available in the evening. Rates are as follows Kachaudi 4pcs Rs 60 Jalebi Rs 200 per kg Other snacks are rs 15 Samosa is Rs 10 Here no sitting facilities, in morning they Make limited temporary arrangement. Taste is average , one can get such taste many places in Varanasi. This place is overhyped. Hygeine is comprised here. Parking is always a problem here.

The famous Chachi ki kachori shop shifted to new location very next to old location. The owner is very humble and ready to provide good service to customers. You have to seat outside on bench to eat. The seating arrangement is available till 10 am till neighbour shops are closed. The hot kachori and subji are very good and testy. You can a avoid Jaldbi.

The kachori here is delicious, especially with the great hing flavor. However, I wasn't a fan of the jalebi. For better jalebi, I recommend going to Pahalwan Lassi shop, which is directly across from this place.

Om Sri Ram Bhandar is a popular sweet and snack shop in Varanasi. They sell many different sweets and snacks. Jalebi and Rasmalai are their most popular sweets. They also sell Sabji-Kachori, different types of chaat, Dahi-bada, and Golgappa. The shop is small with very little seating. A few tables are put outside when it's busy. The food is tasty, spicy, and reasonably priced. Vehicles can be parked on the street for free. The shop is not wheelchair accessible. They accept cash and digital payments. It's a good place to try the flavours of Varanasi.

One of the famous outlets in the city offering the famous Kachori (Puri) baaji, choti kachori, Jalebi and a variety of sweets. The outlet is filled with people all the time and the service here is very quick. The dishes are pretty tasty and not too heavy on your tummy. The jamoon here was good with a very soft texture on the inside and easily melts in the mouth.

Overhyped for local food items. In ₹50, I got two puris with sabzi. While I ordered two plates, I didn't feel it deserved a total of ₹100. I am not complaining about taste. To be honest, the sabzi has really been delicious and looked good in taste and color. But as a local, it is three times of what I pay just close to the shops at its neighborhood in Nadesar. I hope they will charge fair price for locals. Only then, I can hold courage to come again and again.

We tried the pani puri, priced at ₹50 for just 5 pieces—which felt like a rip-off, especially given the underwhelming taste. You’ll find far better at half the price from local thelas. The papdi chaat was decent, with the papdi being the standout element, but nothing memorable. I’ve had better ones for under ₹50. Lastly, we tried the malai puri rabdi, which the shopkeeper claimed is a Varanasi specialty. The flavors were interesting and it was fairly enjoyable, but again, overpriced at ₹90. Overall, not a great experience—especially for a spot that seems to thrive on hype more than flavor.

Had fantastic food here at Om Shree Ram Bhandar. We had Aloo Kachori and puri. We also had aloo bonda separately without the curry part, our experience was very good.

Its a busy shop filled with customers for the food. People are buying kachori to eat in the shop or for parcel. Kachori jalebi are all made fresh, in ghee. The sabji is also very tasty. Its a nice Banarasi Sweet shop with lots of different items to check for. Though cleanliness is a problem.

Cute little cafe located upstairs. The cold coffee is absolutely delish, I ordered two in one sitting. The food was not the best, maybe I chose the wrong items. I had the Paratha for breakfast then the tomato cream pasta later for dinner. Paratha filling was yummy but the dough was a bit thick, and the pasta sauce tasted slightly off so I didn't finish it. The cafe has nice outdoor rooftop seating.

Good cafe close to the bustling tourist area on a quiet side street. Large menu, good food but very slow service (there were 2 other people in the restaurant and it took them 45-60mins to serve a pretty basic order). The setup is nice and comfortable with both indoor and outdoor seating.

A small cafe in Assi Ghat road accessible from rest of the city by Totos, auto and rickshaw. Walking distance from Assi Ghat. The food is decent. We had tried steamed vegetables, crepes, Spanish omelette, coffee and ginger tea. Highly recommend the ginger turmeric tea. Downside: the service is very slow, waiting period is quite high. Also, the cafe could do with some cleaning- the open sitting is extremely dusty. Also, don’t know if people like street dogs sitting beside their tables where food is being served, but I certainly didn’t like it. The street dogs come up on the first floor and make their way into the cafe.

Very nice spot. Cool interior also. I sat in the terrace which was very cool even in a sunny day. The food is amazing and the people friendly. I REALLY recommend it.

A nice cafe near Assi ghat. Has a good variety on the menu. An amazing choice of coffee and breakfasts offered. Some items were unavailable at that time though. The seating is versatile The view from the balcony is a little chaotic since it’s right beside the busy street with lots of honking.

Easily one of the best places for South Indian and Chola Bhatura in Varanasi. Even if you go in for South Indian, do try the Chola Bhatura. Loved the lemon rice and the filter coffee too. Dosa and Idli are again top notch! Service can be a bit slow at times but zero compromise on food quality.

We ordered: 1) Upma - was hard and didn't meet the expectations of a proper south indian dish. 2) Rava Onion Dosa - it was tasty but it clearly lacked a little bit of salt. 3) Chole Bature was tasty and fluffy. The chole was tasty and good for one/ two people. 4) Filter coffee and butter milk were good. But the latter stole the show. In this scorching heat a glass of butter milk is all one needs to calm their minds.

We had a delightful experience at Kerala Café, a restaurant with a rich legacy dating back to 1962. The food truly reflects the charm of traditional South Indian vegetarian cuisine, and we were impressed by both the flavours and the affordability. We tried the Masala Dosa, Onion Uttappa, Idly, Medu Vada, Cold Coffee, and Filter Coffee. Each dish was served hot, fresh, and packed with authentic taste. The Masala Dosa was crisp and perfectly spiced, while the Idly and Medu Vada were soft, fluffy, and comforting. The Onion Uttappa had that ideal golden crust and rich onion flavor. Both the Cold Coffee and Filter Coffee were excellent, smooth, refreshing, and a perfect finish to the meal. The prices are very reasonable, making it a great value for the quality and portion size. If there’s one small area for improvement, it would be the coconut chutney as the flavour seemed slightly different, possibly because the coconuts are sourced from outside Kerala. Still, it paired well with the dishes overall. In short, Kerala Café offers great food at great prices with a sense of tradition and warmth that’s very rare nowadays. We left fully satisfied and happy to have experienced a restaurant that has been serving delicious vegetarian food since 1962. We will definitely visit again when we come to Varanasi for the next Holi.

A popular South Indian spot in Bhelupur, Varanasi, known for its dosas, idlis, and filter coffee. We tried the rava masala dosa (crispy and tasty), mixed uthappam (average), and sambar rice (a must-try). That said, the place is always crowded, especially on weekends. We had to wait around 10 minutes for seating, and the food took quite a while to arrive. Service is quick, the waiter waits to give you more sambar 🥰 Rates are easy on the pocket, and ambiance is great. 10/10 recommended if you’re in Varanasi.

Went to Ashish for afternoon snack and masala chai. We had the chocolate ball and ice cream and the pot of masala chai. The chocolate ball was excellent, and surely unexpected. Chocolate and coconut ball, between a soft cake and a crumble, the taste was perfectly chocolatey! Highly recommend. Table seating slightly right and uncomfortable but the food takes over and you don't care anymore

We stayed here for two weeks, the rooms were really clean and comfortable with excellent value for money compared to the surrounding places. The food was really delicious, well prepared, and cheap; we ate in Ashish cafe every day and were able to have great western style breakfasts. The owner Pawan and his helpers are honest and big-hearted people, they helped us in various circumstances and we are very grateful to them because we felt at home. Highly recommended!

Don’t miss the opportunity to visit Ashish Cafe. Location is perfect, very close to Assi Ghat. The bread is all handmade and the prices are very affordable for tourist pockets. We highly recommend the French Toast and the Nutella pancake for breakfast.

Absolutely delicious food in an amazing spot!! The location makes it so that both days we went there were tourists, however, the prices were really good and the dishes were genuinely delicious. Only talking about the pizza, Varanasi was our last stop after a trip that went through Pune, Jaipur, Udaipur and Delhi, and I think this was the best pizza we had in all of these places. Mind blowing!! The chili paneer made us ecstatic as well. I told the chef that I wanted it really spicy, and the guy followed my word and put NINE chilis on the dish. I'd say, again, it was one of the best chili paneer that I had on all the trip. Absolutely delicious.

Okayish place - nothing great. Quantity of the food is good but NOT the quality. Situated very near to the Vishwanath temple , the restaurant is always crowded. Service is fine but the food is not. We ordered kadai paneer and garlic kulcha. Kulcha was good but sabzi was okay. Ambience is alrighty. Good seating space available. No parking available Situated on a very busy street. Somewhat recommended

Phulwari Restaurant & Sami Cafe was an extremely disappointing experience in every way. The food was pathetic — tasteless, stale, and served cold. It felt like no care was taken in preparation or hygiene. The dishes lacked freshness, and the presentation was equally poor. The service was shockingly bad, with untrained and careless staff who showed no interest in attending to customers. The seating area was dirty, and the overall environment was unhygienic and uncomfortable. For the price they charge, the quality is nowhere close to acceptable. Definitely one of the worst dining experiences I've had — not recommended at all. Avoid this place if you care about your health and time.

Food~ We tried their Dimsums,Country Drink and Country Special Pizza. The Mocktail Country Drink was actually a blend of two different flavours and was really refreshing in this hot weather outside.The Pizza was perfectly cooked and it's quantity was perfect too. Ambience and Service~ They have a cosy and relaxing ambience.You can chill out with your buddies or can even spend some lovable time with your partner here! The Service was satisfying and the Staff were very responsive and helpful.

A place carrying different Japanese dishes in their menu along with Indian and thai meals to suit the local palette...Went to try their Japanese stuffs...Proper description of different Japanese dishes has been done by them in their menu so as to enable the public choose easily...Tried Miso soup {one of the two basic soup of Japanese cuisine made using miso paste} ...It lacked veggies , only carrots were there , moreover flavour was not that nice and will not suit the taste bud of natives of kashi...Gyoza {Japanese dumplings} served with soy based sauce was nice in taste...Stuffings primarily consisted of boiled soyabean crumbs along with veggies....Will soon be visiting again to explore more from Japanese cuisine...

A hidden gem in Shivala . The restaurant serves great Japanese food and some good Thai curry as well. The cheese cake served here is quite good as well.

Quaint restaurant serving Japanese, continental and Indian choices. I loved the music and furniture. Serving was quick and courteous. I had the tempura udon and momos and they were delicious. My husband had the Teriyakadon: a mutton and rice dish that he enjoyed. His came wth a side of shaved radish and a bowl of miso soup. Highly recommend. Be forewarned, they only have squat toilets... though they are clean and sanitary.

Don’t recommend at all, ordered four quick dishes it took an hour for the guy to make it. Cold coffee was watery, club sandwich for rs 250 was not even worth it. Hardly had any vegetables and were just two small pieces of bread. Pancake was so eggy. All of this took more than an hour for the guy to make. There were not many people. Just three tables including us. Still took so much time. And all of this costed us somewhere around 850. There are better places. Please avoid to save your time and money.

I had a cappuccino and the banana honey pancakes for breakfast. Both were decent but not worth the price of ₹500. I was a little bit shocked it cost that much, and the quality didn't meet the expectation unfortunately. Cappuccino tasted ok but was a bit watery and the pancakes could do with more flavour. It was doused in syrup which didn't actually add much flavour. Atmosphere was non existent when I was there, maybe it's busier on other days? The shop attendant was pleasant and lovely though.

A small quaint cafe located at assi crossing, usually filled with foreigners. We tried cappuccino and vegetable sandwich. Cappuccino was really great, however the sandwich portion was very small, I'll advice the owners/manager to use larger sandwich breads. If you're looking to have a nice coffee near assi Ghat , then cafe cafe is the place to go. However there are better options nearby to fulfill your food cravings.

This cafe is amazing! Great quality coffee (the best I’ve had in India so far) and great atmosphere. I had the banana honey pancakes and they were great as well. Such a nice spot would highly recommend. Enjoyed it so much we came back twice!

We visited this cafe twice while in Varanasi! My husband got a egg sandwich and I got scrambled eggs, toast and Americano the first day. The second day we got French toast, egg sandwiches and iced Americano. We are visiting from America so it was nice to taste something that reminded us of home. The staff was very attentive and polite. The dining area is a little tight, the first day we shared a table(didn't bother us)but the second day we had the place to our selves. We visited around noon both days. To save someone the trouble: We went to this cafe AFTER stopping at terracotta cafe (short walk away) Terracotta Cafes espresso machine was not working and they only had 3 breakfast items, that were not customizable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND CAFE CAFE VARANASI!!

What’s not to love about Café Café Varanasi!? The ambience, hospitality, and quality of the food/drink is seriously outstanding. Manish’s warm smile and genuine kindness was unmatched in comparison to every other Café that we have visited in our 3 weeks being here. Not to mention the coffee beans are sourced from top-quality growers vs. the generic Nescafe used by the majority of other spots in the area. Lastly, as a western tourist, any shop that opens prior to 10AM in India is a major win. 100/100 experience at Café Café Varanasi and definitely recommend to anyone thinking about it.

This restaurant is at chausatthi ghat, Dasaswmedh. This restaurant is a part of sita hotel. The best part of this restaurant is the view of ganga from its rooftop. That is awesome. Otherwise food quality is average. Service is Pathetic. During my visit on 16th March I found their service was below average. In fact the Sanjay yadav restaurant manager's attitude was very pathetic. He was not interested in serving. (May be the lack of workers due to Holi). But over all service not good. Food quality was average. They charge clear 1 litre mineral water for rs 30, and for a small cold drink worth rs 15, they charge rs 30 just double. One can visit this restaurant if they want to have an excellent ganga view. Which I find really worth. They charge for their location.

We stayed in Hotel Sita and we tried breakfast and dinner at this place, on the roof top restaurant. Our group who had breakfast said every dish was homely and delicious. For dinner we ordered manchow soup, veg spring rolls, spinach pakoda, alu palak, roti, chowmein. Every dish was tasty and well made. We saw a cat (probably stray) jump onto the table where breakfast dishes are kept in the morning, we hope they watch out.

The view from the restaurant is good. But that couldn't be taken as a reason to visit the place. The menu is limited and the items we tried were quite over-priced yet very ordinary. The coffee and hot chocolate were just like hot water. Even I can make better sandwich than here's. The mosquitoes hovering over your head will give some company while evening snacks for sure, if you wish to sit outside for a view. All in all, if you saw some pictures of the restaurant found it to be a romantic getaway, please avoid it. Not sure about the morning options.

I’ve had lunch here a couple of times and the food is just not up to par. The Caesar salad is not authentic - rotten iceberg lettuce with some kind of creamy mayo and stale, soggy croutons, the veg sizzler only had a baby naan that was incredibly hard, cauliflower instead of broccoli (which is what the waiter told), paneer, dal makhani and a very weird tasting roll. When I asked for the leftovers to be packaged they said they couldn’t give the kathora of dal makhani because they didn’t have any small containers remaining…the alfredo pasta is so so. The buffet has a good selection but the food is still mediocre. Staff is pleasant but they need training. Ambiance is nice.

We went for a dinner on a Friday evening and it was just perfect. Beautiful ambience, delicious food and such quick and helpful staff. We loved the dahi kababs and bamboo biryani both of which are a must try!! We celebrated 67th birthday of our mother and the staff arranged everything on a very short notice.

We ordered mutton bamboo biryani which was real gooood. The desert was amazing as well. Starter was fine. The only disappointment was the slow service. Only 1 or 2 staff were there. They couldn't attend the customers properly. Rest everything was noice. The food plus the ambience.

Ramada needs no introduction in Varanasi..Everybody is well aware of the aura it has among the city people...Lavish dine-in areas, thrilling ambience , trained staff and quick service offers you an amazing experience...The Palate is a dine-in space of Ramada with ample seating area, co-ordinated furnitures, buffet space and live counter...We tried: Cranberry Delight: It was a welcome drink served to us and it was thick and rich in flavour...Cherries inserted in small skewer was used as a means of presentation... Subtle presentation with great taste.. Malaysian luksa noodle soup soup: it was prepared live in front of us in wok by the Chef and tasted amazing...Along with different veggies it carried noodles,coconut milk and different thai herbs and spices... Chef's choice Pasta : They used fettuccine {variety of pasta} in this and the sauce tasted like arrabiata...Topped with shredded cheese, green and black olives and parsley and carrying apt amount of spices and sauce , it was worth trying... Thai green curry {veg}: prepared live in front of us by the chef in steaming hot wok and came loaded with lots of veggies ...Taste was really nice though the consistency can be improved and made a bit thick.. Thai Red Curry {Chicken}: Chicken chunks used in were big , tender and had properly absorbed the curry flavor in them...In this also I found a mismatch between herbs and coconut milk that made it taste a bit bland in few bite spoons... Teppanyaki Prawns: prepared on Teppan {flat hot metal surface} live in from of us...teppanyaki is style of preparation used in Japanese cuisine.....The prawns turned out to be so Damn Delicious...It got properly cooked from inside and we're so tender and juicy.. Teppanyaki Noodles : Japanese noodles tossed with veggies on Teppan...A bit oily but tasted delicious... Green Tea with White chocolate {Mousse}: Ended our meal with this delicacy...There wasn't any flavour of green tea in it as per the name but it was nice in taste though.... They have got a lot in store for you, so guys go and check them out ...Totally accept the prices are on a higher end but believe me the Vibes, the ambience, the service and food , all these makes it a worth visiting place...

This was literally the BEST INDIAN FOOD I’ve ever had in my life. We arrived in Varanasi and headed straight here after friend recommendation. We got the following for 2 ppl 1. Lemon rice 2. Palaak daal 3. Butter chicken 4. Poha 5. Masakali halwa 6. Roti 7. Paratha Everything was made so fresh and from scratch. The service was amazing and we had a really nice chat with the owner and people who work here.

Found the cafe on Google during my visit to Varanasi. The place is very close to Assi Ghat and the moment we entered the cafe we liked it instantly especially because of the sitting arrangement which is super cozy and comfortable and gives you the feeling of home. The staff is polite . The view from the window of the cafe is lively especially in the evening or night. I liked the handwritten menu card 😊 yes the food taste can be improved and adding a few non vegetarian items to the menu would be an added advantage. Also if a corner can be arranged for hand wash or a small basin in the toilet itself could be very helpful. Overall a great place to chill out. 👍

This was my favorite place in my month in Varanasi, a beautiful space, decorated and taken care of to the smallest detail, the staff super kind, helpful and friendly, I felt always welcomed as if by family and the food! Very nice mid-class hotel, with everything you need. The rooms are normal size, spacious, silent and with airconditioning. The rooms are simple but clean, qnd the guest house provides everything needed. Great location - 10 minutes away from the center, which is perfect to be outside the noise and pollution. And perfect entrance to the Ghat. Very good breakfast. Owner is very friendly, helped us also with the bus ticket and a couple of things in the city. I will for sure go back!

The best maintenance of rooms. Service is too fast & quick. The hotel staff makes u feel like at home. From this hotel location which is golden river b & b , all the places of Kashi will be nearby to you. The food here is stomach satisfying. Highly recommended !!! Best stay , best experience.

I stayed at Golden River during Kumbh Mela 2025. Neeraj was very helpful and knowledgeable of Varanasi and made my stay much better. Neeraj and his staff, especially Manaj, were all kind, friendly and willing to help. They even looked after me by getting me food and supplies when I was sick. I hope to stay at Golden River for the next Kumbh Mela and maybe before.

We stayed for 10 days after Mahakumbh before Shivaratri. Kashi was very busy at that time and most hotels were charging super high prices for a night, but Golden River kept their prices reasonable. Neeraj, owner/manager of Golden River was welcoming & very easy going. Whatever was wanted or needed he assured could be arranged. We stayed on 2nd floor in a small standard room that was adequate & the bed was very comfortable. All staff are very nice, helpfull and very good - keeping the place very clean at all times. Breakfast was ok but very limited and they made excellent honey lemon ginger chai whenever we asked. Location is excellent - no real view but very convenient between Shivala and Assi Ghat close to Ganga Maa and very quiet neighborhood. Excellent chai shop across the street and laundry wallah next door. When it came time to leave Neeraj assisted in getting me to the bus station outside the city and was available by phone if needed. I felt safe & well cared for in the Golden River Homestay 🙏🏾💗🙏🏾

Sally and I stayed in hotels across India but this Guest House was the best experience. Neeraj, Radha and the kids were just great with Neeraj a mine of information. Manos and VJ were consistently respectful, friendly and helpful and the lemon ginger tea was superb. The kitchen and the cooking was simple and wonderful. The room was comfortable and clean, the bathroom and hot water was better than the hotels and the location in the heart of ‘old’ Varanasi was (4mins from the ghats) a busy, noisy and delightful experience. With the hugely busy and crowded condition because of Maha Kumbh Mela and the Shivatatri occasions, the Golden River and its rooftop were an ideal ‘home away from home’.

Somit, the owner of this place is an amazing human. I would recommend people to go visit this place just to have a chat with him see the incredible work he is doing with children and the stay dogs of Varanasi. He has a wide range of activities anything from yoga classes, cooking classes and tours. Most of his profit all goes to this organizations. Truly, a man of God. If you want to be a different kind of tourist come here and leave your mark by helping a good cause and getting exceptional experiences in return. Myself and my partner booked a spiritual temple tour with him and a river boat. The temples he showed us we would have never been able to find ourselves and the boat tour was at a great price also. He took care of the tuk tuk charges and also treated us to the best chai in all of India! An experience we will treasure for sure. I stayed 1 week with Somit and his team and it has been such a great experience. I could stay with the children of the school and I tought them spanish. It was so nice to be with them and share good moments. I also enjoyed the food from Bowl of Compassion and it was really tasty, natural and made with love. They have a nice terrasse where you can enjoy a delicious and calmed dinner. I would recommend everybody that comes to Varanasi to experience not only Somit yoga's training but also their food and what is more important, the school. I was really impressed about this project and I wish them all the best for the future.

Myself and my partner met Somit while staying in Varanasi. We booked a tour with him around the temples where he took us to some lesser visited temples including an aghori temple which was amazing as well as the best chai shop in india. He had so much patience and was so happy to show us and explain everything. He also helped us organize a boat tour which he didn't have to do but he is a very kind soul. We really enjoyed being around him and our only regret is that we didn't stay there. But next time we're in this magical city he will be the first person we call. One more thing - he is running an organisation for children which is very inspiring. To see a person clearly trying to do good in the world gives us so much hope for the future 🙏🏽

We came for the roof top terrace and for a quick snack. We stayed for the nice chat with the owner who supports a local volunteering organization. But also because we almost waited 1h for drinks, a naan bread and spinach kofta. The roof top terrace needs some upgrades, it's not the most relaxing place. The food was good.

Food is very good! I usually never eat twice at the same place but I came back to Bowl of compassion, the palak paneer and ayurveda tea was the best I have had! Truly authentic real homecooked Indian food. And bonus your hosts are amazing human beings, ask them about their social project with street kids and the many classes they give ;)

Somit has created a beautiful place here. I came to eat lunch and learned of the reason for bowl of compassion and what is offered. The food was incredible, but aside from that the love and gratitude given to guests and students alike is bountiful. You can feel the energy and love immensely. I highly recommend visiting. Very first thing is this is must do place in Varanasi come here in bowl of compassion here is more than foods here is activities Yoga , Art , Volunteerism and Somit and his mother doing very good and hard work everyday. Somit is great person ruin lots of things and work here .

My fav dining place in Varanasi (2 visits, total nearly 1 month). In Spicy bites you find a big diverse menu (veg, non veg, indian, international), real bean coffee, delicious meals and warm welcoming atmosphere. For those concerned about health and cleaniness - you can trust this place 100%.

Had good recommendations from friends for this place and can easily get how it can offer a great experience. nevertheless, the experience we had was average at best: the butter used for the butter nan had passed its due date, the orange juices were ok, but definitely nothing more. the banana-dates shake I had, was basically a banana shake with some chunks of date on the bottom of the glass. got rice in stead of the ordered nan, waiter couldn't explain what ingredients were in their recommended drinks, service took long (but to be fair, thats common here). I had the tikka masala and it was quite good. my dining partner had egg curry and was not that convinced.

Three of us ate here and all enjoyed our meals. We had Japanese, Indian and Korean food all of which were great. The staff were really friendly and jokey. They put on music when requested and even did some dancing! One of the members of staff has an art studio upstairs and his work is really amazing. Definitely recommend eating here good food, good atmosphere.

We visited Aadha Aadha Café a number of times during our stay in Varanasi with our two young children, and it quickly became a favourite. The food, both Indian and Western, has been consistently delicious, the staff are incredibly warm and attentive, and the relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to unwind. Highly recommend for families and travellers alike.

Lovely cafe in a great location! Rooftop views of the Ganges and monkeys walking past. Chill vibes inside, shoes-off policy, staff speak good English, and have a menu with plenty of local and western variety. Had one of their traditional milk drinks (Kesar Badam) which was very nice. Plus a palok paneer with chapati which was good, with simple flavours.

Loved the ambience and food here! Tough to locate as it is hidden in the famous gallis (streets) of Banaras! It’s got a great view of the Ganga river from here!

I was there in the last week of March and the place is cosy. It's a lil difficult to navigate because of the lanes of Banaras. It's near the Dashashwamedh ghat so the view is nice. With regards to the food, it was decent. We had arrabiata pasta, aalo parantha, cold coffee, ginger lemon iced tea and some bakery thing make of coconut.

Both hot chocolate and cold milk chocolate are way too diluted. I think it’s water with boost or chocolate flavour. I would rather have plain water. The other food was way too oily. Spice level was ok for an Indian palette. Crispy baby corn was the worst. I could sense the staleness of the oil baby corn was fried in. Chow mein and fried rice would have good if they have used less oil.

Negatively surprised by this overhyped placed. Staff is very grumpy and unfriendly. Service is very slow and food is even worse. Cannot believe people love this place… P.S. you have to take your shoes off while staff is walking with dirty shoes. So after a bad experience you’ll walk away with dirty feet. 1/10

The ambiance and view was so nice. Hotel and food are also best here. Rates are a bit high but worth it. After eating here, we were passing time for a long time, but no one stopped us. A good view of the Ganga river can be seen from here. Ganga Aarti can also be seen from far away.

We are staying at Ganpati Guest House and thought we would eat dinner here after our sunset cruise with Aarti ceremony. The food is delicious. Staff are wonderful and everything was super tasty. Although my husband was a little taken back that it was vegetarian, he survived. At least it had beer!We found out today that all restaurants along the Ganges in Varanasi need to be vegetarian. So if you want a restaurant with great atmosphere, excellent views and are happy to forego meat, this is the place I would recommend. Accommodation is amazing too. We have a superior room with a balcony overlooking the Ganges.

Yes, beautiful view during Aarti, HOWEVER : food was average (probably the saddest looking Naan I've seen in my life and oiliest palak paneer), special thali comes without dessert... And all of this wasn't a big deal per se until they told us the water filter in the kitchen DOESN'T WORK.. Which pretty much means unhygienic, dangerous food, especially for us westerners. So thanks, Ganpati Restaurant, but no thanks!!! We are never coming back due to your negligence!!!

location is good. but food quality is worst. they dont know any difference between chowmein and spegatti. we orderd butter masroom spegetti. but we got tomatto flavored chowmein with so much oil in it. so much unhealthy and tasteless food they provide.

We just had a lovely meal here this evening at Santos & Rita's place. They also have a lovely fluffy white dog. It's either a Samoyed or a Pomeranian? Anyway, delicious food especially the Paratha & the Malai Kofta 😋

I discovered this small, honest, family-run restaurant two years ago, and it's one of those spots that I keep going to again and again. Santos prepares all the food from scratch, and you feel truly welcomed, like a friend. Don’t miss the eggplant with potatoes! :)

This is a lovely little spot, a surprise find. We were served super fresh food, and very tasty. The fried aubergine in ggarlic and ginger was simple but beautifully cooked. The paneer butter masala and kofta malai were delicious. The owners were friendly down to earth people who also know how to cook very well.

Really good Indian food, had the paneer butter masala, malai kofta and eggplant+potato curry and they had very good taste, also freshly made. The plain rice and nan were ok. The portions were a bit small but the price was really cheap, so really worth place to eat Indian food.

Here you can relish global cuisines ranging from Israeli to Japanese to Korean to Italian and hence it has become the premier hangout destination for foreigners. I tried out a Mango 🥭 Cake and an Apple Pie. The mango cake tasted good, but nothing special and the same can be said for Apple Pie as well. They had overbaked the Apple Pie, making the crust too hard to bite. Although the taste wasn't unpalatable but it certainly lacked that touch of quality. Recommended for one time visit.❤️

One of the more popular cafes in Varanasi, this place was always busy when we walked by! We ended up sharing a table with someone else as it was so busy which was fine. Plenty of options on the menu, including bakery goods as well as various international cuisine (Israeli, American, French). Food was okay, though nothing special. The pancake was very good though! Service was a little slow and they said some of the food didn’t have nuts when it did (think that was lost in translation).

It’s a real gem!!! We ate there everyday during our stay in Varanasi and loved every single thing we tried! They have amazing cakes and coffee, their chai is also excellent. Mona Lisa was amazing! Great coffee, of course not the same as western cafes, but some of the best I’ve had in India. Apple crumble was very nice! On the sweeter side, which I enjoyed. Owner was very sweet and gave me bread to feed the cow.

Its a very famous and upmarket place situated at godowliya. This place has two sections, one is the chat corner and upstairs is the multi cuisine restaurant, its a very crowded place. We tried many things here. We had crispy baby corn, chowmin, paneer chilli dry, and different types of thalis here. The food was nice and tasty and freshly prepared. The thali has nice and different types of curries, pulao etc. We liked thali much. Didn't like tomato soup here was sweet in taste it was disappointing, otherwise the food was nice.

Firstly I thought that the first floor AC area of the restaurant also serves chaats, but after entering the restaurant I understood that chaats are not served there. On the ground floor you need to buy tokens from the cash counter to receive your food. They don't provide any tables, but there is plenty of sitting space. The food prices are on the higher side and the taste was average at best. Recommended only for last-option dining near Dashashwamedh Ghat of Varanasi.💛

Oh this small Katori chaat from Keshari restaurant packed such a powerful I honestly didn't expect it to be this amazing. Awesomeness reveals itself when you least expect it, and I wasn't even hungry. There were so many pure and exotic tastes blended into this Raj - kachori mutant (better version of it), I am unable to explain. It was at par or even better than the papdi chaat of Vaishnav dhaba in Delhi Kamla Nagar.

Amazing Breakfast! I had pancakes and a cappuccino, and everything was absolutely delicious with very generous portions. I sat at a table on the veranda, which had such a lively and pleasant atmosphere. I also had a lovely conversation with the owner—she was so nice and friendly! If you’re in Varanasi, I totally recommend this place.

I recently visited this cafe with a friend, and it turned out to be a cozy little spot that gave off very comforting, homely vibes. The menu was decent—not too overwhelming, with a good selection of options. I ordered the Ginger Lemon Honey Tea, which was soothing and nicely balanced in flavor. However, I did feel that the service could use a bit more attention to detail. My tea was served without a tray or coaster—just the cup placed directly on the table. While it’s a small thing, these tiny touches do matter when it comes to overall presentation and experience.

After two years travelling along India, this is one of my favourite places. Not expensive at all. Owners are very kind. Food was of first quality.

Roma's cafe is my go to place. It's one of the places that you shouldn't miss if you go to Varanasi. I even brought my friends, they loved it too... This is that place which you never get bored of. I would recommend trying international cuisine over Indian.

The food was very delicious , the service was amazing but there was no discount it was only for BHU students we had sushi , dim-sums , kung pao and white sauce pasta which was very tasty

I had a Madrasi thali and before pao bhaji.. The owner is indeed friendly, and you can meet his wife and son. So it's a family place, clean enough, with wifi if you need (ask). The price was good value with quality, the taste was like home.. Quantity right. I guess it's mostly for wester tourists, but i saw also indians.

Easy 5 stars, for real skip other near places, this is the BEST ONE, Babu it’s an amazing guy along three months in India it was the first person to ask us if we want the food spicy or not. This is home made food so don’t expect short time, it’s going to take the enough time to try your best food in INDIA.

Delicious food, family ambient that have attention for the client! We tried good pasta with abundant portion , simple but nice burger, home made fries, chinese noodle also very good. Another day we had indian food, it was delicious and made with love! The paratha was insanely good! Little price for simple and good food! Don’t esitate to go there :)

abu owns this colourful restaurant that is decorated with paintings of his children. Visitors made the decorations here, because they love Babu. He is always smiling, interested, and ready to help or chat. Luckily he is also a great cook, his Indian food is some of the best I've had in the country, balancing flavours just right! Besides, nice restaurant has some incredibly cheap and tasty burgers, as well cheap porridge and curd breakfast. Even ask for something that's not on the menu, like kichdi for the stomach, and Babu will often make it.

Walk around the corner from the Main Street and come downstairs. You will find the friendliest staff, so engaging, perfect English. This all vegetarian restaurant is delicious. We are heavy meat eaters and did not miss it. Huge selection. Best garlic naan we ever ate. Ask for Raju and Kopi, they’re the best.

A good place to eat. They have a variety of international cuisine. Such as Japanese, Korean, Israeli, etc. The food is good quality and the prices are quite reasonable.

Not so Fancy cafe or restaurant. The hotel have a wide variety of Japanese cuisine and Bengali cuisine. The only place I found chicken. Moderate pricing and right in the hippie lane. Food tastes good and Indian food is recommended. Don't try the pizza at all.

It was a great experience on this restaurant. Food tastes like home made. They are taking some time to create fresh food because of that the waiting time period for food adds some value. They offer various types dishes. The food range is a little bit high but during the peak season of mahakumbh it is affordable. Their veg thali cost around 180 rupees. They provide vat, dal, one sabji, 2 roti or aluvaja, salad, papad, curd. We loved this thali. Nice experience. This is a bengali resturant.

Tbh i will say if you have self respect then don’t visit this place ,there is an old guy basically the owner who disrespects everyone and his tone of speaking to the guest is very rude,as a hotelier i feel guests are like god .But for him guests are like dog .If you understand this ,then im sure you will avoid this place.The worst thing was while i was eating there was some food left on my plate and he suddenly came and cleared our table and then as i told him he replied(if you wanna talk while eating then leave )

Probably the best chai I had in Banaras is at this cafe. A small place located on the way to Assi Ghat. They do serve coffee and other things as well, but since I was fasting I could just have chai here. Definitely a recommended place for chai lovers.

Nice place for the tea lovers. Average quality of tea. Located near Assi Ghat. Must try their adrak tea with the beautiful view of the ghats of Varanasi. Recommended for family and Friends. The quality of tea is also good. Overall it is value for money.

The coffee here is any day better than the tea. People do love the chai here, but I would rather recommend the coffee. I don't know which coffee they use, but the coffee here is just excellent. I have never found such a fine taste even in any renowned cafes. They serve it in a kullhad, and it is only Rs.30. Just give it a try and you'll never be able to forget the taste of the coffee. So unique! Definitely must try in Varanasi.

Had our afternoon tea here and quite enjoyed the cheese tomato toast. However, the green salad didn’t look so green. The view of Ganges/Ganga river was great even though the fog was pretty thick. Staff was friendly and informative. Price was pretty affordable, too!

This is a good restaurant easily accessible inside Hotel Alka. Good view of river Ganga, and a great photo spot. Only area to improve is that the staff demands cash payment, or to order from the hotel. Best part, hotel Alka does not have phones to order.

Excellent ambience, we had a great view of Ganga river with the morning sunlight. Food was delicious. We ordered mix veg and onion raita along with plain chapatis. We reached early in the morning so food preparation took time but all in all a great place.

Beautiful location, unfortunately the iced coffee was undrinkable, the rice was very oily and they did not have any oranges or papaya (asked for an orange papaya juice)

Great place to relax and people watch (especially on the side balcony) and good food too. The malai kofta and chili paneer here are my favorites.

If there was a chance to give zero stars I would definitely give it. This place is a total mess and compromised when it comes to hygiene and taste. There is no point going and eating at this joint because nothing is clean and totally cramped place! This is an overhyped placed by some sections of the media and I highly recommend people not to go here and waste your time energy and money 🤮

Located very close to Kashi Vishwanath Gate no.1 and towards Dashwamedh Ghat. They could do so much to improve the quality of their food. Puri/Kachodi have black charcoal from kadhai. Can't you clean it? In potato curry, they put nutrela. Why? Jalebi is yuck. Only good thing is location.

Paneer parantha with butter is absolutely recommended. Idli sambhar was not so good. But parantha was really awesome. Fresh and smoky with melted butter. The service is fine. It is a simple place to have a quick bite, so ambience is out of box here. Our small dog was allowed inside.

Only good thing about this restaurant is it's location. It's very near to the Dashashwamedh Ghat. It's an eatery and there was no proper cleanliness. There was some flying insects around the lights, which were falling on the table, and may try to taste your food too🙂. Place was very crowded too. Regarding the food quality, we ordered Masala Dosa. It costed us ₹ 80. The stuffing in the Dosa wasn't even properly cooked. And the onion in the stuffing was completely raw. They just chopped the onion and sprinkled it in the stuffing. You can find far better Dosa in Varanasi lot cheaper. Overall...highly not recomended.

Very tasty food. Exceptional value. While traveling in India we try to look for restaurants that are busy. I figure if it’s busy the food is better and hopefully safer to eat. We went here twice in 2 days. They have a lot of seats and they were really full. The thali was more than I could eat. 300 INR is a very fair price for what you get. Other reviews say they got sick but we didn’t. While in India it is important to find safe places to eat, I believe this is a safe place. Tables are close together and we met a nice family.

We tried this place during lunch hours , it seems like a cozy place. We sat and waited till 45 minutes to get food that was also okK. But even after waiting 45 minutes I was expecting fresh food as the chef told us that he will prepare fresh. And what we got is butter roti half cooked and the dough used was also not fresh. Daal wasn't hot, Rice was also not good as it seems it is not a regular rice , a little hard to chew. Tomato cheese toast was ok. And yes price is at little higher side. Place is just near to assi ghat at rooftop, if food quality can be improvised than it would be a good choice to hang out.

Yesterday me and my friends had a wonderful experience, and the food was delicious. The Varanasi Thali was especially good. The owner of the restaurant was very kind and humble. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also awesome. I recommend it. For the best food and a relaxing place, this is it.

After experiencing the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Assi Ghat, we stumbled upon this trendy cafe for a quick bite. The cafe is beautifully designed with images of Lord Shiva and other wall paintings, creating a surreal ambiance. We noticed many foreigners dining there during our visit. The menu offers a variety of Italian and Chinese options. We tried the Veg Thupka, which was decent in taste, and the portion size was adequate. However, there's room for improvement in restroom. Also, The entry and stairs leading to the cafe were not aesthetically pleasing. Overall, I recommend this cafe for a quick bite, especially if you're in the area after witnessing the diving Ganga Aarti.

Really lovely rooftop away from the busy street below. They serve beer which isn’t easy to find here. We had pasta and ravioli both good maybe a bit too much sauce but the flavours were great.

Cool atmosphere, very tasty food. Unfortunately, the staff worked very slowly, we waited 40 minutes for drinks and almost two hours for food.

BEER - yes, after walking around for ages looking for somewhere to have a meal with at least a beer, we stumbled across Karki, mainly because of it’s great open rooftop but then discovered they served beer ….winner!!

Karki's is a rooftop cafe located at Assi Ghat. It is a place which is mostly preferred by foreign tourists and hippies. But anyone who wants to have a pleasant and peaceful time away from the city chaos, he/she must give it a try. The ambience is cozy with dim lighting, the wall is decorated with paintings and plants, the whole space is airy. I ordered Karki special Pizza. The quantity was huge and the taste was good. The service can be definitely improved as it was a bit delayed. If you are seeking to spend a calm and soothing evening with some Italian and Chinese food then Karki's can be an appropriate option.

Just overhyped and overpriced tried the badi kachori sabzi and jalebi. The jalebi was good but the kachori sabzi did not like it. The shop opens from 7:30 to 11 am in the morning when you will get the kachori.The place is overcrowded as it is hyped you have to stand in a queue to take the token number and place your order they have a sitting area but only 4 to 5 people can sit and rest have to find your own space on the street. There is a wash basin and water dispenser. Would not recommend to anyone.

This is the original The Ram bhandar at thatheri bazar, chowk. It's an old shop. Badi Kachauri , choti kachauri, jalebi , gulab jamun etc. are available here. Kachauri sabji and jalebi is most famous here. Kachauri sajbi costing Ra 70 for 2 pieces ,and jalebi Ra 600 per kg. Everything over here is of pure desi ghee. Extra sabji are given on request. In my opinion this place is over rated or over hyped. This place is overcrowded. Other alternatives are available at an economical price. Limited seating arrangement only four to six people. Parking is big issue here. Here tourist are more than local. No glass available for drinking water. Means lots of area of improvement. This place is over rated.

I visited Shri Ram Bhandar and tried their poori sabji (badi kachori). The taste was nice..the sabji was flavorful and well-cooked, and the pooris were thin, light, and not too oily, which made the whole meal feel satisfying without being too heavy... The service was and the staff was polite. One thing to keep in mind that the place is usually crowded, so it took around 10 or more minutes to get my order..But considering the rush, the service was still quite okay and the staff handled it well.. Overall, it was a good experience..definitely worth trying if you’re in this area of Varanasi and looking for a tasty, filling breakfast…

Crazy crowd. Overhyped a bit. At the level of some of the other vendors serving Kachori plate in the area. More than that, Jalebi is what I found good here. Had to wait a good 30 mins for getting one plate. Was it worth it. Probably not when similar serving I would have got to some of the near places that also allowed me to sit in peace and eat. They are good in taste too but it's just the crowd kills the craving.

Well I visited this place after all the good reviews by the Youtubers but to my dismay, the food wasn't good. I didn't like the taste of the Kachodi. Its difficult to hold the food and eat as the place is overcrowded all the time, located in a narrow lane with bikes and cycles passing by. There are few seats inside. I don't understand the hype of this place though but may be its just not suitable for my taste palate.

Totally worth the hype! I never had such a great Kachodi-Sabji 🤩 The taste is magical. Jalebi was also good. It was very crowded when we went there but it was totally worth!

Badi kachori is good the sabzi they serve along with it is awesome, choti kachori of aloo is also nice ,jalebi is ok ok . You have to pay first and then come out of the shop they will call your name ...u have to be real hungry to do all this and the place can be reached only on foot ideal time before 9.30 in the morning no sitting

Restaurant was good but limited options were available like in main course 2 to 3 dishes available and for starter 1 to 2 variety available. Same for desert and salads. Although food was good and service was good. If you know how to be happy in limited resources then you I'll be fine their.

I’ve had their alfredo pasta, apple pie and margarita pizza. All were so so. The pizza at Radisson Ayodhya was delicious but the pizza here was made on regular commercial pre made pizza bread that you can buy at any general store. Disappointing. Asked for the remaining pizza to be packed to go and it was done so messily. Should do better!

No .. i would not prefer it next, just because of brand it’s preferred but taste is missing in eastwest. Service is slow, not attentive staff. Disappointed. Kabab factory is good in all aspect from welcome to food.

The drinks were still ok, but going by the standards of "Radisson" , it was disaster cause , 1. there was a cockroach in the sizzler and a hair on my grilled chicken, they replaced it, and brought a rubber hard microwaved chicken which the knife couldn't break and the cottage cheese sizzler had 3 times the salt in it. Funny how most of the waiters were so under trained, that none could tell me what their speciality dishes were.

Where do I start? The food is not worth your money or time, the pan fried noodle was horrible and bland, the Greek salad was as tangy as it could be and the cucumbers were diced in a very lazy way and the feta cheese was used so sparingly, is it my fault to expect more from an establishment that is upscale and charged as such? . Maybe it's time to change the chef because the area has wonderful hotels with great restaurants and this is not one of them.

Yesterday visited east west restaurant for lunch ..after 6 hour getting loose motion .ordered mushroom vegetable ..vegetable smell was bad ..

We stayed in Raddison and were eating Buffet at the East-West restaurant. Lot of variety and nice ambience. Most importantly we had 4 children with us and M.P. Singh and his team went out of their way to arrange customised food-items as we requested. I can only recommend!!

I came at 1pm and had a pleasant hour on the couch here. Cosy, quiet, view of the top of the Shiva temple. I asked for spinach instead of potato in the Spanish omelette and they were accommodating. Nice simple food and honey lemon ginger tea at affordable price. My meal took some time so relax and enjoy the atmosphere. I hope to be back for the steamed vegetables which I haven’t seen on any other menu.

The best pancakes with banana and honey in town, very friendly lady who cooks with hear heart.

Maya is such a pleasant and gracious host. She helped me when I was in need of support! I feel so grateful for having met her and to be able to enjoy the aesthetically pleasing ambience of her cafe. I really enjoyed eating the homemade phulka (bread) and dal (both vegan!).

Very expensive food they claim that they prepare fresh food but they served stale foods. Also they were very rude. totally disappointing. would not recommend anyone.

Owner is Tamil Iyer he will speak nicely and explain food items. Hygiene is most priority for them. Running more than 98 years. Filter Coffee taste is really good. Coffee self made by owner. Must try and Rs 40 per Coffee is worth to pay.

Dine In was excellent super taste and super service, Price was little higher but it was okay for the taste and other state. Please do not take train parcels at this place packing was worst and weight is not as mentioned in the menu, I repeat do not take train parcels from this place. You can see pics of my parcel from below in menu it is mentioned as box packaging but in real it was roadside paper packing.

One of the oldest cafe’s in Varanasi. When Cafe was not a famous word, the Ayyar’s came into picture. Originally founded and started by South Indian. It’s origin is older than 1953(date mentioned) . Best known for South Indian foods and filter coffee. Friendly staff and owners. The quality of food needs an upgrade & it lacks a little freshness. Cost is still not as high as other South Indian joints but be sure to spend around 200 for 2 person. Sharing some pictures, I have liked the place as it still gives you an old feel. In the midst of such crowded place you find this calm place.

I went, i saw, i returned. I expected a great Tamilian food available there. But after entering the place I placed upon what people were eating there made me to return without bothering to check the menu. This place is for tirth yatries and not for foodies.

The village in the town cafe is at assi Ghat. It's an assi nagwa road. Ambience: it's ok, better to visit in the evening, when all lights on. Indoor and outdoor seating are available. Private cabin seating is also available. They try to maintain greenery with wooden cabin seating. Which is not too much maintained. This place is specially for foreigners who want to have natural feelings. Actually this place looks like a restaurant cum dhaba. Which is their theme. Food is normal. Indian, chinese and Italian foods are available. Thali is also available. Menu is all vegetarian. Parking is free along the road side. Overall an ok restaurant where dhaba kind of things are maintained.

The atmosphere is Great but I ordered there spl. Thali and Regular Thali, The roti was so thick and uncooked after getting them changed they gave me tawa roti instead of tandoori roti as promised and tawa roti was baasi and was given to microwaved. Horrible Experience.

Go for one of your worst dine in experience. Visit the place if you are in a mood of charity, order food pay bill and dine in at some other good restaurant. Tasteless paneer butter masala, worst spring rolls. Raita was very poor, poured literally in a soup bowl served with a soup spoon😂. Quite surprised how can you make raita taste bad.

It's good for private meet up, good for hangout with friends, there is more space in sitting area that u can even dance there, since music goes on continuously, Dishes are availaible at very affordable price. Almost all kinda dishes are there. Seeing the place firstly u will not like it but after spending time there u will get used to it. Sometimes do visit such restro also, if we will then only it will be highlighted. Good sevice, though it takes time. ☺☺ U can have ur birthday celebration here. And those jhopadi will give u village vibes. 👍

I told to the owner that I just wanted something to drink, I needed to refresh from a hot summer day. The place was empty. He was nice at the beginning but after he asked if I will order something to eat also (I was no hungry at 5pm) I say that I just wanted soft drinks and he didn't like it. 10 minutes later he told be rudely that the waiter gonna bring me the bill, breafly I was kicked out 🤣 even if I was the only costumer. My advice, won't go there.

It's better for couple , but A old man of this caffe came rapidly in front of couple and it's like feeling harassment to the couple , and his behavior is so bad , food taste is average .

Wow I was very surprised after eating here. The food here was so good that I could not believe it. The chef here has really great skills. If you want to eat South Indian food somewhere in Banaras, then definitely come to Anjani cafe , it is made very well, visit once.

When traveling around India the dosa is always my go-to snack. This tiny restaurant may look simple and the dosa may look ordinary but the filling is excellent, so tasty and way above the average. Best I've had in Varanasi by far (and what a deal at just 50 rupees). Yum yum!

A small shop that you can search and find from Dasaswamedh Ghat. You have to walk through few narrow streets from there to find it. Best place to have a good variety of dosa and other snacks. Try coconuct banana chocolate dosa here

This restaurant has two salons: a traditional and a garden. I recommend the garden with a lot of bicycles ornaments. Lasi and food are great. You will spend a great time.

Great lassi shop right after you come out of Kashi Vishwanath Dham from gate 4. The owner is very friendly who makes sure that you get what you want.

The best lassi. The shop owner makes it in front of you. He uses fresh fruits and dry fruits. I have never tasted a better Lassi than the Coconut Mix Fruit Lassi available in this shop. If you ever plan to visit Varanasi DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE. And the best part is this shop is less costly than the other famous shops.

If you’re in Varanasi and you want to have something refreshing, go with Baba for some Lassi. It was very tasty and hygienic. He has a wall where many tourists have left pics, reviews, and a piece of their countries. Today I left my Mexican print on his wall. Dhanyavad Babaji!

Wow wow wow WOW! Lassi made with love, fresh fruit, homemade curd over a natural fire. This was such a nice treat. I didn't want it to end. The banana is simple and my favorite as it's topped with some pistachios and pomegranate seeds. Don't miss it!

Delicious Lassis!! kind owner with a huge beautiful smile. You can tell he makes them with love. The best idea after walking around Varanasi is to refresh the day with these traditional lassis.

It’s so cool restaurant cafe with Aircon and fan, cozy and clean, so comfortable, we found it on map and so happy to get in ( in very small alley), we felt so hot after a day going around, this place give us back energy after good rest, we can lay down and sleep while wait for food and after lunch. Food so deliciou, the noodles is must try, I can not stop eating it, yummy yummy. Chicken is excellent. We talk with the owner, she is very gentle and polite and lovely , flexible, let us rest for a while, she was taught to cook by a Korean chef, that’s why the tast is so good. I want to come back and would like to recommend to friends, outside very hot and inside is cool and quiet you can rest, so clean compare to street and others, 5 stars.

We were so lucky to find this place on our first day because we went back three times. We really enjoyed eating Korean food, especially the kimchi pancake and potato pancake. We also loooved the eggplant fried rice. More importantly though we also just really enjoyed talking with the family owners and their puppy. It felt very special for us to feel so comfortable there, particularly in Varanasi, as the busyness of the city took us by suprise.

Korean Bibimbab was perfect. You should try if you feel soul of korean countryside. Staff can speak korean, and the price is reasonable. Bibimbab served with egg soup 계란국. tastes are very nice. But serving time is too late.

Seriously amazing. Best Korean food we've had in India by FAR and definitely the best international food in Varanasi. Wonderfully nice owners, and the food was just perfect. We had the bibimbap and the Korean fried chicken, and the meal was so great that we're planning to go again for dinner tonight (our first trip was last night).

Delicious authentic Korean food, friendly service and a great location. Had a wonderful time in my 2 visits to Ondo. Highly recommended if you're visiting Varanasi and looking for a specialty kitchen and some excellent tea in a calm sitting.

One of the best secret places in Varanasi!! The atmosphere of this place is just amazing. Really nice music, impeccable clean and really nice service. The food was amazing, the portions were generous and the prices are just perfect for what it is. And if you want to fall in love try the chocolate cake dessert!! Something for other world!!!
