Botanical garden
Villa Carlotta is a stunning 17th-century villa located on the shores of Lake Como, near the Grand Hotel Tremezzo. The villa boasts beautiful gardens and a remarkable botanical park with an impressive variety of rhododendrons and azaleas. Commissioned by Marquis Giorgio II Clerici, it features a neoclassical style with works by renowned artists such as Canova, Tiepolo, and Hayez.
Took the train to Varenna, then the boat and got off at Lenno. From Lenno we hiked to the villa following the lake shore (approx 4 km) This is a great hike, easy to make and not exhaustive. The only caveat is that there is a section of the hike that follows the road. Visited on Monday. Started with the gardens as there was a storm cloud on the lake and wanted to cover the gardens and move inside if the rain moved onto the place. The gardens are extensive and beautiful. The rhododendrons were in peak bloom (mid May). The Villa itself is also impressive, well curated and maintained. Overall a great small museum as a time capsule ot a different era. The cafeteria has gelato, panini and excellent beer. What else do you need beyond that. We entered the museum at 3:00 pm and left just after 6:pm. The combined ticket for the gardens and the villa is €15/p. Good value.

Nice museum with several exhibits. Also has gorgeous views of lake como. There is also a restaurant to grab some lunch. It was not crowded when we visited also there was no line to buy tickets. Worthwhile visiting the villa.
Jayasimha N — Google review
An absolute architectural, botanical and historical marvel of the last 500 years. The grounds of the villa are absolutely gorgeous - fountains sculptures, and perfectly manicured floral heaven. The garden is truly remarkable with how much variety of plants there are and also the way it's been maintained. For the building itself, nothing short of extraordinary - the design and architecture is impressive. There is so much history and craftsmanship behind this place.
Alexander M — Google review
Inside and out Villa Carlotta was a joy to visit. We loved the art work inside the villa. Be sure o look up as many of the rooms are adorned with frescos and or reliefs. The grounds are a botanical wonder with species brought in from around the world.
John V — Google review
I have no words. Grand, classy, green. Bamboo plants, very tropical. The great beauty of a sea of over 150 species of plants. All this is combined with the view of Lake Como, which is open from almost every point of Villa Carlotta. Very good restaurant.
Vladimir G — Google review
Must see! Great place to visit, beatiful inside, many sculpture, paintings few rooms with furniture with very great conditions. Amaizing garden around, it takes 2-3 hours to visit and see all villa and garden. Beautyful view from balcony for Como lake.
Arkadiusz K — Google review
Villa Carlotta was beautiful (the villa, gardens, and views) and informative. I decided to get the audio guide as well and I'm very happy I did. It made walking through the gardens more immersive and, at some points, even had me emotional. The gardens can be strenuous in certain points from multiple steps and steeper climbs but the shade provided a lot of nice cover from the hot Italian sun. Additionally, the property has three different routes available: whole, quick, and wheelchair accessible. The Villa itself is full of history and allows you to see artworks and historical preservation. Will be a historical place I visit again next time I am in Lake Como.
Sam H — Google review
Great place to visite. We even met a nice photographer who offer us free service. The villa is very BIG. Take your time to visit. Maybe 3 hours for everything. Most of the visit part is in the garden. They also have absolutely nice views.

Villa del Balbianello is a captivating 18th-century villa located in Lenno, on the picturesque Lake Como. Originally built by Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini, it has been home to various wealthy families and notable figures throughout history. The villa boasts a splendid loggia offering enchanting views and is adorned with breathtaking frescoes and charming gardens. Its former owner, adventurer Guido Monzino, enriched it with an exclusive art collection and artifacts from his global expeditions.
Famous from Hollywood-movies this gorgeous villa and surrounding gardens are a must visit when visiting Lake Como. We took the guides tour inside the Villa which was very fascinating. It was very hot and crowded in gardens however, so would recommend to visit off-season and make sure to buy your tickets in advance.
Victor B — Google review
A beautiful estate with a fascinating walk to and from the site. Definitely touristy but absolutely worth the visit. Be aware: Google’s “mostly flat” description is misleading—you’ll need to tackle some uphill sections, so bring good shoes.
Alexander S — Google review
Very beautiful and pristine villa. Everything is very manicured and clean. It is about a 2km walk from the Leno ferry terminal. Definitely some gradients so wear comfortable shoes. This villa is home to famous scenes in Star Wars and also James Bond Casino Royale.
Falene C — Google review
We’ve photographed several pre-wedding shoots at Villa del Balbianello, and every single time it feels like a dream. The views over Lake Como are breathtaking, and the villa itself is pure magic. In spring, the wisteria blooms beautifully across the villa, creating an even more enchanting atmosphere. Every corner is photogenic, from the iconic terrace overlooking the lake to the lush gardens. It’s truly one of the most incredible locations in Italy for a photoshoot.
Peter P — Google review
Such an incredible place to visit if you are going to Lago di Como, I would suggest buying the tickets in advance so you can skip the wait, bring comfortable shoes, I wouldn’t recommend heels or anything like that if you do want to enjoy the most hidden places here. Very clean, it takes about 2-3 hours so see and enjoy most of the villa! Is a must!
Karen A — Google review
One word – magnificent. I recommend buying tickets in advance to avoid waiting. We arrived at 10 a.m. and waited about 20 minutes in line. The villa opens at 10:00 a.m. They allow only a limited number of visitors inside, which is great because it’s not overcrowded. The ticket costs €14.

Beautiful Villa... Looked stunning in Casino Royale! In person so much more!!! Tour is a must do to understand the last owner.. ended up buying the book about him. A must visit if in the area.
Paul J — Google review
Magnificent experience. No words to describe the views here! Do not miss this on your visit to Como. There is about a 25 min walk of up and down driveway (some paved & some gravel), might be hard for some who are not able to walk far distances. The walk is well worth the work however!

Villa Monastero is a historic waterfront mansion located in the Province of Lecco, boasting terraced gardens adorned with statues. The villa is a major attraction due to its rich history, picturesque landscape, and various services offered on the premises. The House Museum within the estate showcases opulent 1800s decor across 14 fully furnished rooms, providing visitors with an immersive experience. Additionally, the villa houses a renowned Conference Centre that has hosted physics lessons by Nobel Prize winner Enrico Fermi.
Beautiful villa with awesome picture opportunities along the lakeside. The garden is very beautiful. Staff is great. We had tickets and were standing in the line, upon showing them to staff they let us through the side. The staff at the museum was also great, showing us what the best route was etc. parking on the other side of the street is good (for Lake Como standards :))
Nick — Google review
The gardens are absolutely stunning and the views of Lake Como are unreal — definitely a must-visit for photo lovers! Dress cute, this place is made for dreamy pics. We bought tickets online and skipped the line. The villa interior isn’t super impressive, but the outdoor beauty makes it 100% worth it.
Gabriella G — Google review
Easily one of the most beautiful places I've been. There was a crowd (we visited in September), but it was manageable and didn't bother us too much. Entry was quick and efficient and for 7 euro (13 for regular entry but still) you get access to arguably the most gorgeous views you would have seen in your life.
Teo N — Google review
This is truely a lovely villa. The setting on the north end of Varenna is perfectly quiet. Property is between the road and Lake Como allowing for a magical stroll along the water. The property seemed a little worn. After a couple of days of train the paths suffered from large puddles making passage distracting on some portions. Other features were closed for repairs. The house was a treat and more intimate than some of the other villas we visited. Be sure to visit the exhibit room under the where you'll get your tickets and enter property. They have a fine audio and visual show that allows you to chose topics on the family and property history of the villa as well as the garden and it's flora. We visited in the second half of September but I can imagine Villa Monastero in blume is just amazing.
John V — Google review
nice place. if you want to walk through the garden, it is worth spending 2 hours. there is a queue at the popular places to take pictures and you can't even look at it if you don't wait. difficult with a stroller. It's worth going in the morning, there's no line, there are fewer people

This is the most beautiful place I have ever been on Earth and I mean that. Wow just wow. The gardens are incredibly stunning and well kept and I probably took hundreds of photos here. Do not skip this place if you are in Varenna and spend some time here I promise it’s worth it!!! So much gorgeous scenery it felt like I was inside a pinterest board. If you are walking here from where the ferry drops you off make sure to walk along the path right next to the water with the red fence for some of the best views of the lake and then at the end head up one of the streets/stairs to get to the villa entrance.
Eleanor H — Google review
We had a fabulous day at Villa Monastero, where every inch felt intentionally designed and beautifully maintained. The atmosphere was serene and tranquil, with stunning architecture all around—the elegant pillars, soaring arches, and vibrant flower displays made it a feast for the eyes. We visited in mid-June, when the temperature reached 34°C, yet there were plenty of shaded spots to pause and enjoy the scenery. One of our favourite moments was sitting at a picnic bench under the shade, having some snacks while taking in the spectacular lake views. The café on site offers refreshments, and there is one toilet for each gender. Both were beautifully prepared and spotless, which was a welcome detail. The combination of breathtaking views, peaceful atmosphere, and architectural beauty made Villa Monastero a truly memorable experience. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, breathe, and simply enjoy the beauty of Lake Como. Kids go free

Villa Melzi D'Eril is a must-visit attraction in Bellagio, known for its stunning gardens designed in the early 1800s by architect Luigi Canonica and botanist Luigi Villoresi. The English-style gardens boast exotic trees, camellias, rhododendrons, and azaleas, as well as a picturesque Japanese pond with water lilies and cedar trees.
📍 Villa Melzi d’Eril – Bellagio, Lake Como, Italy 🇮🇹 A beautiful historic villa with elegant lakeside gardens 🌿🌸 stretching along Lake Como’s shore. While the villa itself isn’t open to visitors, the gardens are the main highlight—perfect for a relaxing walk 🚶‍♂️ among exotic trees, statues, and flowers with stunning lake and mountain views 🌊🏔️. Peaceful, well-maintained, and less crowded than central Bellagio, it feels like a serene escape. A must-visit for garden and nature lovers. 🙌
Quing_刘妈妈 — Google review
Great place with only one mixed toilet facility. For the ticket prices you only see the gardens, the museums are a stretch. You pay for the views of the lake which you can see everywhere. Of all the villas we've visited this one is the least i liked. Gardens 5/5 Views 5/5 Toilet Facilities 0/5 Museums 1/5 Villa ( Not Accessible )
Michael S — Google review
The gardens are beautiful. Keep in mind that you cannot enter the villa itself, however when visiting Bellagio, and would like a quiet change of pace, this is the place to go. The ferry's leaving Bellagio to Menaggio or Varenna are very long (at least it was in mid/end of May so who knows how much more busier in July- Aug), long, so plan accordingly if you need to get to another place for a specific time.
G ( — Google review
One of the most beautiful gardens I've ever visited, with interesting and well-maintained botanical species. Perfect for watching the sunset over Lake Como. It was a shame we couldn’t visit the villa inside.
Javier Q — Google review
We photographed a pre-wedding shoot at Villa Melzi on Lake Como, and it was absolutely magical. The gardens are full of history and charm, with stunning views over the lake and mountains. The SUNSET light there is just incredible : soft, romantic, and perfect for capturing timeless moments. Villa Melzi is truly one of the most beautiful spots on Lake Como for a photoshoot.
Peter P — Google review
The views here are spectacular, with the lake’s shimmering waters, elegant villas, and the Alps rising dramatically in the background. The private boat ride across the lake added a special touch, gliding past historic estates and vibrant gardens, making the experience feel timeless and romantic :) More than just a scenic destination, this place is perfect for milestone moments or peaceful escapes. We can’t wait to return!

Villa Melzi" the perfect canvas for wedding memories Having photographed weddings in many countries, I can confidently say that Villa Melzi is exceptional. sadly when we visited the villa was being renovated, but the gardens are beautiful, there are ample benches overlooking the lake and honestly the views up the lake are worth going for alone! look out for the water-planes taking off right in front of the villa, they're brilliant!!

A beautiful villa right in front of the lake. Didn't go to the villa but just sightseeing the park and the lake. The park is wide and beautiful, suitable to picnic or just to stroll around. It's suitable to got there on one-day trip from Milan, to experience different ambience. There is public toilet too, it's moderately clean but smelly.

I should give 5 stars, but unfortunately we found the Villa Olmo under construction. But the garden outside is still really worth the visit. Very beautiful place.

Extended stay hotel
Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni is a luxurious hotel located in Bellagio, Italy. The hotel offers elegant rooms and a range of upscale amenities including a spa, bars, and two restaurants. Guests can also enjoy the hotel's pools and access to a private beach on the lake. The property has an interesting history and is currently owned by the Rockefeller Foundation, serving as a creative retreat for artists, writers, and scientists.
Our stay at this magnificent villa on Lake Como was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the impeccable service and the dedication of the entire staff. The interiors are absolutely stunning — refined, elegant, and perfectly in line with the timeless charm of the villa. The restaurant deserves special mention: the cuisine was exquisite, every dish a delight, and the cocktail menu in the bar was both creative and sophisticated. We were also touched by the thoughtful birthday celebration, which made our experience even more memorable. The service was flawless throughout the day. The waiters, dressed in white stockings and bow ties from morning until evening, brought an exceptional sense of refinement and harmony that perfectly matched the villa’s interiors and atmosphere. If there was one slight disappointment, it was the attitude of some fellow guests. Unfortunately, many did not follow the dress code recommendations that had been clearly communicated at the time of booking. It was a shame, as this lack of consideration diminished the otherwise consistent sense of elegance and exclusivity of the place. Overall, however, our experience at this villa was absolutely outstanding — a true example of luxury hospitality at the highest level.
Marina N — Google review
I had such high expectations staying at Villa Serbelloni, but unfortunately the experience was very underwhelming. The one thing that is truly outstanding is the location, it is absolutely beautiful and cannot be faulted. However, for a five-star property, the service and staff experience fell far short. Coming from a five-star hotel in Switzerland just before this stay, the contrast was stark. At Villa Serbelloni, there was no real sense of welcome or warmth, often no greeting, no effort to make you feel special. For example, when sitting by the pool, not even being offered complimentary water when towels are handed out felt surprising and completely unacceptable for a hotel of this level. The staff were not rude, but they were also far from attentive, polished, or genuinely welcoming. And that’s what makes the difference between a hotel simply having five-star facilities versus delivering a true five-star experience. I had been looking forward to this as one of the highlights of our European trip, but sadly it ended up being one of the most disappointing. If what you want from a five-star stay is to feel valued, wowed, and taken care of, this is not the place.

We had an amazing two-day stay at Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni for our honeymoon, and it was truly unforgettable! ❤️ Everything was perfect — the warm hospitality, the breathtaking lake view, and the elegant atmosphere. The hotel beautifully combines classic charm with modern comfort, making it a magical and romantic experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an exceptional stay in Lake Como! ✨

My wife and I recently completed a five-night stay at the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni as part of our honeymoon and could not be happier with the experience. The property is stunning, pictures and descriptions simply do not do it justice, and the staff could not have been kinder or more attentive. While Bellagio itself can feel crowded with visitors during the day, the hotel is a serene oasis, allowing guests to enjoy the town at its best in the calm of the mornings and evenings. Our stay was flawless, and we are already looking forward to returning.

By far the best hotel in Bellagio. From the Michelin-starred Mistral restaurant to the elegant rooms, private beach club, and even the famous diving board, every detail is exceptional. The privacy of the property makes it feel truly exclusive, as only guests can enter past the gate. Service was outstanding — Claudio and Luca were especially memorable, and the young gentleman (Claudio’s friend) at Mistral made our dining experience even more special. An unforgettable stay.
Julian S — Google review
We had an amazing time at this hotel. We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday and the hotel provided some special touches for the occasion. The lake view rooms are breathtaking, the location stunning and eating in the Mistral restaurant on site is a must. This hotel is spectacular and the staff and service was impeccable. Thank you for making our stay so special

On July 27th I had the pleasure of visiting the Grand Hotel in Bellagio — beautifully located, with wonderful hospitality and excellent ceviche. As I was leaving Bellagio, I was unfortunately in a hurry and didn’t have the chance to thank in person the gentlemen at the entrance, whose kindness and warm conversation added an unexpectedly human touch to my visit. Please extend my sincere appreciation to them.

The Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni: Redefining hospitality and comfort As a hotel with 5 stars, it shouldn’t surprise you that the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni is known for its high quality dining, pool and lakeside amenities, and beautiful estate. But the reason this hotel is number one on our list in every category is the people who elevate your experience day in and day out. Over the two weeks our family stayed at the Grand Hotel Villa, the high standard set and met by the dedicated and hard working staff was prevalent each and every day. From the concierge, to the waiters, to the pool staff, to the cleaners, the kindness and commitment of this staff team to create a comfortable and welcoming environment made our experience a 10/10. We became especially close with and Annabel, Giuseppe, Samuele, Anna, Emilio, and Oumo, whose hospitality and service made our days on the lake unforgettable. Whether it’s food, facilities, or people, this hotel gets all high marks. Thank you to the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni staff for the lifelong memories.

Villa d'Este is a luxurious lakeside hotel that dates back to the 16th century. Originally commissioned by Cardinal Ptolemy Gallio, it was designed by architect Pellegrino Tibaldi and was once a female convent. Over the centuries, it passed through the hands of noble families and even housed a dancer from La Scala. In 1873, it was transformed into a luxury hotel and became a popular destination for the glamorous jet set.
Excellence. This hotel and the stay here was my best hotel experience ever. The general vibe and feeling of the hotel is superior. The room was big and welcoming. The view from the room was not the best - but nevertheless it was clean, true to its style and had an exquisite bathroom and bed. The dinner at the Grill restaurant was amazing and the wine list inspired a truly unforgettable night. The piano bar with joyful music and a mingle between all the guests was simply amazing - and added to that «old money»-vibe in a beautiful manner. The surroundings are also astonishing and provides the very best atmosphere and enjoyment you can find. All of these amenities and beautiful surrounding would, however, not be as meaningful if it weren’t for the excellent staff and their attention to detail and ability to adapt to the guests. I find the ability to adapt to the guests as the most important thing and at that this was world class. We were a group of four friends which had an incredible and extremely successful experience with Villa d’Este. Keep doing what you are doing - I will be back.

We stayed here during our honeymoon for three nights. The service was excellent, the concierge was very helpful with setting up taxis. My husband loved their coffee, and enjoyed sitting outside near the lake during the afternoons. We loved their Sundeck during the day, the pasta and club sandwich were delicious! We also liked the hotel's breakfast. We did have dinner at the Grill and the Veranda, and while we enjoyed our meals, our options were limited since we do not eat seafood. We did use their laundry service and there were no issues. I really appreciated the hot water for my shower or bath. Our room had a great view of the lake, and we will miss waking up to it.

Villa d’Este Dreamlike Escape on Lake Como – Perfection in Every Detail From the moment we arrived at this breathtaking Lake Como hotel, we knew we were somewhere extraordinary. The hotel’s setting is nothing short of cinematic—nestled between lush green hills and the shimmering waters of the lake, every view feels like a postcard brought to life. The staff welcomed us as if we were lifelong friends, offering warm smiles while our luggage magically disappeared to our suite. The attention to detail was impeccable—fresh flowers in the room with personalized welcome notes. Our suite was a masterpiece of design: soaring windows framing a magic garden, a marble bathroom with a deep soaking tub that felt like a spa on its own. The bed was the kind of cloud you never want to leave. Breakfast by the Lake featured just-baked pastries and cappuccinos so perfect they could ruin all others for you. The floating pool overlooking the lake was pure serenity. Even small touches, like the live piano music created an atmosphere of timeless elegance.

Went for dinner to the Grill. Service was exceptional and so was the food. We loved the olive oil and balsamic so much that we bought the pair to take home. We got a glass of wine, an appetizer, 3 entrees, a dessert. Total bill for everything was 530 euros - perfect for a special occasion or a treat! The hotel and the grounds are stunning - hoping we can stay there one day!

From the moment you arrive you know you’ve been transported to someplace special. Villa d’Este is pure luxury at its finest. The grounds are immaculate. Worthy of every photo on social media platforms. Photos alone do not represent the true beauty of the hotel. The grounds, the lobby, the floating pool, the restaurants, and the residences are visually stunning. Oh, the view of Lake Como. Every photo you take is postcard deserving. The entire staff was professional, warm, friendly, and genuine. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was the best possible. Special thank you to Roberto. Our suite was a Junior Suite Lake View. Spacious and well appointed in the Cardinal’s Building. We had a corner suite overlooking both Lake Como and the hotel’s grounds. The hotel refers to them as residences, we never felt more at home. Our dinner at Veranda was a taste of elegance. Delectable with every savory bite. Overlooking the immaculate gardens and Lake Como. The views are breathtaking. A truly magnificent dining experience. Our stay was exemplary! One has to experience the pinnacle of endless hospitality and true beauty. A must stay. We look forward to our return.

Villa d’Este isn’t just a hotel; it’s an unforgettable escape. This historic 5-star hotel, nestled in lush gardens overlooking the shimmering lake, feels like stepping into a gilded era of Italian elegance. If you’re seeking opulence, serenity, and service that feels like family, book it—you won’t regret it. Highly recommend for couples or anyone craving timeless Italian glamour.

Beautiful hotel and grounds but what sets this hotel apart is the exquisite service provided by the whole team- from the lovely driver who picked us up from the airport all the way through to the fabulous breakfast staff, bar staff, housekeeping, reception and concierge. Every single staff person we encountered went above and beyond to make sure we felt well cared for . Truly some of the BEST!!

The care taken in cleaning the windows in the lake-view room is a good representation of the overall experience, unfortunately the small details simply fail to deliver making what could be an amazing experience fall short. Window cleaning is just a representation of a bunch of small details that each in its own is not dramatic but that adds up and does not meet expectations… Nice hotel and staff but quality simply does not match the pricetag.

Hotel Villa Cipressi, by R Collection Hotels, is a historic lakefront hotel that dates back to the 1300s. It offers beautiful gardens, a spa area for relaxation, and a bar with a terrace where guests can enjoy stunning views of the surroundings. The hotel has been carefully maintained and restored to preserve its architectural features. With its authentic new look unveiled recently, it now boasts upgraded facilities including Pulitzers Bar and the new restaurant Jansz.
My husband and I had such a lovely stay at Villa Cipressi. The views from our room were incredible and the hotel itself is beautiful. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was a nice addition. And the access to the gardens / views from the gardens made it even more worth it. We will definitely be back!
Rachel U — Google review
We visited Hotel Villa Cipressi to explore the gardens, and it was absolutely worth the €10 entry fee. The views of Lake Como were stunning – peaceful, romantic, and perfect for photos. The gardens are well kept and offer a lovely walk through nature with gorgeous backdrops. We queued at the famous gate for a photo, but the line was quite hectic and we ended up waiting over an hour. Some people took their time, which is understandable, but it did slow things down a lot. It would be great if the hotel added a staff member to help manage the queue, maybe allowing around 2 minutes per person. That small change could make the experience smoother for everyone. After finally getting our photo, we enjoyed a drink by the bar. We didn’t check the price in advance, and a glass of Aperol Spritz came to €18 – definitely on the pricey side, but with that view, it's somewhat understandable. All in all, it was a lovely experience and we’ll definitely be back. Just a few improvements could make it perfect!

A Magical Stay by Lake Como! We stayed at Hotel Villa Cipressi for a wedding, and it was absolutely unforgettable. The location is breathtaking surrounded by stunning gardens and panoramic views of Lake Como that feel straight out of a dream. The staff was kind and professional, always ready to help with a smile. The rooms are charming and elegant, perfectly blending history with comfort. Everything was beautifully organized for the wedding from the ceremony overlooking the lake to the dinner under the stars. It’s one of those places that truly captures the magic of Italy.

Famous Gates of Heaven at Lake Como (Varenna). We came on a Monday morning at 10am, not many people in the garden. There were 2 other couples at the gate and once they left, we had the place to ourselves for 15 minutes! The area behind the gate is very shallow so make sure to have a wide angle lens for your photos! Very beautiful area, granted, we did not have to wait in line.

I shot a wedding at Hotel Villa Cipressi on Lake Como and the views are just unreal - every direction you look is a postcard. The light, the mountains, the water, it’s all just so dreamy! Beautiful gardens, winding little paths, and the prettiest spots for photos everywhere, overlooking the lake. One of my favourite places in the world!
Siobhan F — Google review
Save your money and buy a pass to the gardens but definitely don’t stay here. The worst customer service. Check in was awful and the night reception was incredibly rude. The day staff kept forgetting we were guests and kept yelling at us to pay to get in. I left 2 jackets in the closet upon check out and emailed to see if I could get them back somehow, Still no response a week later. Now I have lost the jackets completely as I am home now. The room was bare and felt like a hospital room. The blankets were terrible. Everything about this place is awful except the terrace views & the gardens.Do not recommend to anyone to stay here ever! Considering this was my first stop on our Italy travels I am disgusted and saddened I chose this place to be so important on my list of travels. Huge disappointment.
Tabanda F — Google review
This is only for anyone visiting the villa for photos. The ladies at the entrance were extremely rude — they immediately charged us €19 per person, and we later found out the tickets were actually €10. They weren’t willing to answer my questions and kept talking among themselves while I was waiting, which felt very unprofessional. Definitely poor customer service. Also, be prepared for a queue when entering, and note that your photos will depend heavily on the lighting. We went around 12 PM, and the light was harsh, so I was quite disappointed with how the photos turned out. However, the villa itself was beautiful — worth seeing if you go at a better time of day.

This is the first time in Lake Como and staying at Hotel Villa Cipressi was the best choice. Staying on the Eastern Coast is a great idea because you get views of the sunset. The rooms were comfortable, the overall hotel is lovely but the biggest seller here are the views. Simply breathtaking. Super romantic at all and every hour. Will definitely be coming back. The staff were super helpful and attentive. The breakfast was delicious. The drinks were great and the overall location is nicely situated close to the town square. Great place.

Villa Erba is an ornate 19th-century lakeside villa located in Cernobbio, on the shores of Lake Como. Built by Luigi Erba, it served as a summer residence for various famous personalities and has been featured in films, photo shoots, and music videos. The villa boasts extravagant interiors with ancient frescoes and precious inlaid ceilings. It is also known for its prime lakefront location and surrounding botanical park.
A beautiful villa located next to the Como lake. A large park together with the lavish interior makes it A perfect spot for an corporate or family event. We had the occasion to be part of an unforgettable wedding and the villa was perfect.

Beautiful venue for a wedding. Large, various rooms, and a beautiful water backdrop. For weddings it’s a bit hard to find everybody into a room so people are spread out. The rocks around the area make it slightly difficult for walking, and temperatures inside can reach 90+. There’s no WiFi for the venue and the bathroom is on the second floor so for those who need accessibility, it might be difficult. Still a beautiful and stunning venue for a banquet or wedding.

A fantastic venue for any MICE program. I attended a business event here and was impressed by the modern and spacious rooms, abundance of natural light, and variety of spaces suitable for any type of event. There were two separate large business events happening simultaneously, yet there was no overlap of attendees. The original Villa is an ideal location for photo shoots, weddings, and gala dinners. I can envision hosting a conference followed by a gala dinner conveniently in the same venue. The rooms are rich in history and beautifully decorated, conductive for a memorable experience. Even the surrounding grounds and the stunning views of the lake just a few steps away would enhance any MICE program and ensure its success. Highly recommended to the MICE planner.

Not open to public, unless there is a conference or exhibiton. But it is recommended as a must-go in this area on Internet. It should be marked as private so we don't waste time.
Banu — Google review
I feel it’s important to share my recent experience at Villa Erba, which unfortunately was very negative. As an international visitor, I had always heard of Villa Erba’s reputation as a beautiful and prestigious location, well known for weddings and events. My partner and I were genuinely looking forward to seeing it in person. We arrived through the main entrance, which was open and had no clear signage suggesting restricted access. Believing in good faith that it was acceptable to step in for a brief look, we entered. That’s when we encountered a staff member named Alex. We explained politely that we did not have a reservation and were ready to leave. Due to the entrance layout, we needed to move slightly forward before exiting. Instead of handling the situation with professionalism or courtesy, Alex’s reaction was extremely aggressive. He was smoking, speaking in a hostile tone, and making insulting remarks toward both myself and my partner. What could have been a simple, respectful exchange quickly turned into outright harassment. This left us shocked and deeply uncomfortable, particularly my partner, who found the encounter quite upsetting. Given Villa Erba’s status and reputation, this behavior came as a complete surprise. Rather than feeling welcome or respected, we felt humiliated and intimidated — the exact opposite of what one would expect from such a historic and elegant venue. We documented the incident here, including a photograph of the staff member, and are considering further reporting to local authorities if necessary. No visitor should ever leave an encounter at Villa Erba feeling this way. It’s a real shame, because Villa Erba is stunning and carries so much history. But unfortunately, the lack of hospitality and the unprofessional way we were treated by a staff member has overshadowed its beauty for us. I truly hope the management takes this matter seriously, as no future guest or curious visitor should ever experience the same kind of hostility we did.
Ismail Z — Google review
In 2012, I had the distinct pleasure of visiting Villa Erba, an iconic gem nestled on the serene shores of Lake Como. This venue embodies the pinnacle of luxury, set against a backdrop of breathtaking beauty and architectural grandeur. Every aspect of Villa Erba exudes elegance, from its meticulously landscaped gardens to the opulent interiors that speak volumes of its storied past. The location itself is unparalleled, offering tranquil lake views that captivate and inspire. Whether for events or a personal getaway, Villa Erba does not just meet expectations; it transcends them. During my visit, there was not a single detail amiss. The staff performed their roles with a professionalism and courtesy that enhanced the overall experience, making it truly unforgettable. Villa Erba represents the essence of Italian luxury and charm, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking a venue that is both visually stunning and rich in comfort. I can wholeheartedly recommend this magnificent villa for any prestigious event or a peaceful retreat in the lap of luxury.

Villa Lario is an elegant hotel with 18 suites, all offering stunning views of Lake Como. The property is situated on a private and secluded high point along the lake, providing guests with a sense of exclusivity. Once owned by the Lombardi family, it boasts a unique feature - a private pontoon for guests to swim directly in the lake.
Our favorite escape – time and time again. We’ve had the joy of staying at Villa Lario four times now, and with each visit, it only gets more magical. There’s a reason we keep coming back: the perfect blend of luxury, intimacy, and well-being that this place offers is simply unmatched. The location is stunning — right on the edge of Lake Como, with peaceful views and an atmosphere of total serenity. The suites are exquisite and everything is designed for comfort and elegance. The restaurant is also truly exceptional — every meal is a refined, delicious experience that perfectly complements the setting. But what truly makes Villa Lario unforgettable is the people. The staff is exceptionally kind and attentive, always going above and beyond with warmth and discretion. A very special thank you to Raffaele, whose professionalism and personal touch elevate every stay. He has become part of what we cherish most about this place. Villa Lario is our home away from home, we already look forward to our next visit.

Unfortunately my only good thing to talk about was the food and the staff. The rooms, mainly the Pavillion is directly next to a massive construction project that NO ONE mentioned. Every morning at 6:50am we were rattled by jackhammering - it was like it was coming through the walls! One of our guests staying in another villa experienced zero air conditioning for their entire 3 day stay. The property management didn't seem to care, or shall i say they didn't care at all - not about the absurd amount of construction and the no air. In fact, the front desk lied and never had anyone contact us or offer any adjustments to our final bill. I would highly recommend to whoever reads this to NOT STAY at Villa Lario unless they have the construction completed. It looks like a 5 year build to me - make sure you ask, or you will regret it when you try and get some sleep on a beautiful Lake Como vacation! The food was amazing! The servers were amazing! That's all that was good and unfortunately didn't outweigh the entire experience that was ruined by construction and guests that were not attended to appropriately.

My husband and I just stayed here for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it! The service was fantastic (we asked for a couple more bottles of water and within 2 mins we had 6 bottles of water delivered to our room) and the staff were so kind! They did an outstanding job making sure we were taken care of and felt at home. It was also one of the most stunning places we have ever stayed and you can tell it is kept up very well. Great place to stay, I was there for a few nights on my honeymoon! The view from the rooms are absolutely spectacular and that alone could give it 5 stars. The staff were very accommodating, professional and kind. The cocktails were amazing and we loved having after dinner drinks by the fire! It was a great end to the evening. Villa Lario is a vibe and I would absolutely recommend this hotel!

I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights. During the process of moving my luggage, my tablet PC was completely destroyed—it no longer turns on—and a cherished bottle of wine, which was a gift from a close friend, was broken. As a result, my clothes and bag were also damaged. However, I have yet to receive any response or offer of compensation from the hotel. The hotel is composed of multiple buildings connected by elevators, making luggage transport quite difficult. Despite this, only one staff member was assigned to handle all of my belongings—unacceptable for a long-term traveler carrying multiple bags. This likely increases the risk of damage, and yet the hotel seems completely indifferent to such incidents. In addition, compared to other hotels in the same price range, this hotel appears to be severely understaffed. At the restaurant, it took an unreasonably long time just to place an order, and the staff were clearly overwhelmed throughout the entire mealtime, making it impossible to enjoy a relaxed dining experience. To make matters worse, when we ordered the same pasta dish we had enjoyed the night before, it arrived tasting completely different—so much so that all four of us at the table were genuinely shocked.

We had a dinner reservation at Villa Bianca restaurant a few days ago (21/4), and the food was great, the atmosphere was very nice, the view was exceptional, and the staff were very helpful and very kind. It was our first time in Como, so it was also our first time in your restaurant, but we will definitely make a new reservation not just for the restaurant but for the hotel as well, when we visit again!

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The room was wonderful (corner terrace suite), and service at the main restaurant and pool restaurant was good. I docked two stars because the service at the lobby outside bar was absolutely horrible. We experienced this two nights in a row, and then did not attempt to go back after that. Also the spa was great in terms of facilities, however we were not offered towels, robes, or a locker which we felt was very odd. Unfortunately overall the service was a miss for us. When paying this much for a hotel you want to feel like a valued guest.

It was the most thoughtful gesture. The staff goes ABOVE and BEYOND every moment the stay and it is truly extraordinary. Every minute we spent at the hotel was heaven. The suite, view, amenities, pools, spa, gardens, etc were absolutely stunning, luxe, and we couldn't get enough. Everything was personalized and we felt extremely well cared for. Nestled on the picturesque shores of Lake Como, Passalacqua is a historic private villa that has been transformed into one of the region's most stunning hotels since its unveiling in 2022. Originally built in 1787, this elegant retreat boasts an impressive size and exquisite attention to detail, featuring hand-blown Murano chandeliers and suites adorned with original frescoes. Each of its 24 luxurious suites pays homage to Bellini heroines, reflecting classical elegance and Italian craftsmanship.
A truly unforgettable stay. We got engaged at Passalacqua, on their Riva, and couldn’t have chosen a more magical place. I will forever treasure the days I spent at Passalacqua. A place of timeless beauty, charm and elegance leaving you with memories that last a lifetime. The villa itself is enchanting, but what makes it unforgettable are the people and the moments they create. Every morning began with a breakfast experience that felt luxurious, and our wedding dinner was nothing short of extraordinary—a feast that family and friends spoke about constantly in the days afterwardss. Housekeeping and room service went beyond care; they reflected thoughtfulness in the smallest of details. The service staff are of the highest standard—poised, impeccably dressed, and trained to a standard that rivals the finest three-Michelin-star establishments. Yet beyond their professionalism lies genuine warmth: each member of the Passalacqua family made us feel not just welcome, but truly at home. A big thank you to Gregory, Claudia, Carla, Martina, Alberto, Carlotta, Nicolas, Cristina, Chef Viviana, and every member of the Passalacqua family that exemplify the artistry of hospitality. Passalacqua, despite what others may say, is the number one hotel in the world—not just for its beauty, but for the heart behind it. I cannot wait to return, especially to celebrate our anniversary in a place that now feels like part of our story.

Less than an hour’s drive from Milan, Passalacqua is a truly exclusive property above Lake Como. Every view feels like a postcard with the spectacular scenery of Lake Como combined with Passalaqua’s immaculate gardens and landscape. The overall atmosphere here just radiates peace and beauty. The level of detail and devotion to decoration is dazzling; Carrara marble, chandeliers, antiques and paintings. Touches like the in-house florist who gathers blooms daily from the gardens for guests really make Passalaqua feel like a very special place. ROOMS: We stayed in Casa al Lago, a private villa with four rooms. It offers an indoor lounge, a covered terrace, outdoor dining, and our room had its own private garden. There is a separate reception and kitchen located in Casa al Lago. You can enjoy breakfast right outside your room instead of the main restaurant. The room itself was luxurious in every sense. The bed linens might be the best of any hotel we’ve stayed at. The bathroom had three Dyson products (hair dryer, flat iron, and Airwrap). There is a complimentary fully stocked minibar and each night, housekeeping surprised us with thoughtful treats. DINING: The food was easily among the best we’ve enjoyed across multiple trips to Italy. Breakfast is available a la carte accompanied by an impressive breakfast buffet spilling across two rooms, an open kitchen and a welcome stand of fresh pastries. SERVICE throughout the property is excellent, attentive, professional, and polished. While it’s not as personalized as some other ultra-luxury hotels (where staff might remember your name or your personal preferences or you have a single point of contact during your stay), the Passalaqua staff still manage to make you feel valued and important. The overall experience is warm and gracious without being over the top. GYM is set in a restored greenhouse with indoor and outdoor equipment and panoramic views of Lake Como. The indoor space is small but functional to accommodate the 24 rooms at Passalaqua.

The property itself is breathtaking — the gardens are among the most beautiful I have ever seen, perfectly manicured yet full of soul and character. What truly sets Pasalacqua apart, however, is the staff. Their warmth, professionalism, and intuition elevate the entire experience to something beyond expectation. Every interaction feels personal, thoughtful, and sincere — a rare quality that transforms a stay into a memory. We loved the mixology masterclass!! The cocktail master Andrea was amazing. Isola Comacina is a lush piece of land that extends from Lake Como in the municipality of Tremezzina. This small gem holds an archaeological heritage and a millennia-old history dating back to Roman times. The island was once part of the defensive system of Isola Comacina, an ally of Milan, and was destroyed in 1169 by the Comaschi.
The only island of Lake Como. It played an essential role in the military history of the region. Valued for its exceptional nature and splendid views, Isola Comacina is an excellent location for walking and a lovely beach.

The island is beautiful, but in my opinion is €6 entrance per person to much for what you get. The church was closed and the old ruins where not accessible even if information signs where inside. Some parts of the old church are behind iron bars which is a pity.

Villa Bernasconi is a remarkable example of Art Nouveau architecture located on Lake Como. Designed by architect Alfredo Campanini, it was originally built as a fashion house for engineer Davide Bernasconi, the founder of a silk weaving company in Cernobbio. The villa's design features asymmetrical and dynamic forms, showcasing the artistic value of decorations typical of the liberty style. Visitors can explore interactive exhibits and enjoy music performances within this grand turn-of-the-century villa.
Exquisite and delicate liberty style villa. Very well preserved. Book in advance to get a very instructive guided tour !

nice villa but there is not much to see or learn. There are few nice stories about the former owner of the villa and entrepreneur Bernasconi as well as his personal objects. I was expecting more history and explanations about the silk industry he helped creating

A beautiful example of a Stile Liberty building. It is fortunate it was saved from further destruction. Although incomplete the remains of the interior are a joy to behold.

Beautiful art deco palace near Cernobbia. Watch for seasonal opening times, generally only open from Friday to Monday. €10 entry fee and well worth it. Nice cafe adjacent too

A really nice villa at the beginning of Cernobbio. The tour allows you to interact with the different installations to try to relive what the villa was like when it was still inhabited. Recommended visit for children, as well as the stop at the garden view bar: very nice atmosphere! On weekends you can park at the school parking lot a short walk away.

I stumbled across Villa Bernasconi by chance. I was taken in by the artistic design of the building and paid my €8,00. I was lucky, as the museum was very quiet and I had time to appreciate the building and learn about it's history and what it brought to the local area. Although relatively simple, the way the history of the building and stories from the factory workers were shown, they really brought the place to life. I hoped to listen to the Italian recordings from the drawers online and improve my Italian skills. However when I asked the lady (unfortunately I didn't catch her name), sadly this was not possible. However, she did the next best thing and brought me a leaflet about the house in both Italian and English, so I can learn from that. Great customer service and it was a nice touch to an enjoyable visit.

Nestled in the picturesque Blevio, the Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como is a stunning retreat that seamlessly blends luxury with tranquility. This exquisite hotel occupies a beautifully restored 19th-century villa and features contemporary design elements alongside elegant Italian decor. With only 21 rooms and 52 suites, each accommodation serves as a peaceful haven for guests seeking relaxation. The resort is set within lush botanical gardens and comprises nine distinct buildings, showcasing an enchanting mix of Italian and Chinese influences in its decor.
The setting takes your breath away, the property itself is impeccable, and the service and food are highly memorable/amazing. The staff are brilliantly trained and warm. English is no problem. The Spa is super clean and peaceful; and the lakeside pool is a whole experience as well and quite unique. Loved it all.

Mirko,Adriano,Valentina, Virginia, Isabel, and Gigi — this is without question the most beautiful hotel I have ever had the chance to visit. From the moment we stepped inside, there was a warm and genuine feeling that immediately set this place apart from anywhere else. The staff didn’t just provide service, they truly treated us like family. Every interaction was filled with kindness, care, and authenticity, making us feel at home while still surrounded by luxury. We shared laughter with the team, enjoyed unforgettable conversations, and created some of the most special memories of our lives here. The atmosphere of the hotel is full of life and positive energy, something you simply cannot compare to any other property. Every corner seems designed not just for comfort, but to uplift your spirit and leave you with a sense of joy. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who contributed to making this experience so meaningful for us. From the small thoughtful details to the larger gestures, it was clear that everything was done with love and dedication. This is not just a hotel stay — it is an experience that stays with you long after you leave. You truly must visit to understand what I mean. Highly, highly recommended.

AMAZING!! My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights in August. Everything about this hotel was spectacular from the moment you drive down their windy driveway to the welcome lobby which boasts incredible high ceilings with stunning views of the lake. I also can’t forget the glass of champagne offered at check in. We got there early and they let us use the spa area to change and hangout at the pool, I think it’s the best pool on the Lake. Our room was breath taking, they said they upgraded us based on availability which I thought was so kind of them. I can’t thank The Mandarin Oriental enough for such a memorable experience. Truly a dream.

This hotel is in a stratosphere of its own, paired with a stunning location in an area of outstanding natural beauty. I have been throughly spoilt and nothing else will compare now. Service was always attentive, prompt and sincere without being suffocating. Food was made with the highest quality ingredients, and cooked to remarkable perfection. A shuttle runs guests to Como Town. A perfect paradise and definitely the sort of hotel that you’d only see in movies.

My wife and I had the most amazing honeymoon. The staff was so incredible, they took great care of us. They were available for anything we needed, and very helpful with everything. The concierge gave some great recommendations for things to do in Como, and even helped book some things. They were very accommodating with setting up the hotel car or taxis for us to get around. The restaurants are all amazing, and the spa is so relaxing. Such a great experience there. I can’t say enough good things about the team working at the hotel. They truly went above and beyond. The rooms themselves are so comfortable. Very clean, modern, honestly you could lay in them all day.

Il Sereno Hotel is a contemporary lakeside retreat located in Torno, offering a blend of sleek design and tranquil surroundings amidst the historic Neoclassical villas of Lake Como. The hotel features an infinity pool that extends to the edge of the lake, a spa housed in a century-old boathouse, and luxurious suites with modern amenities. Guests can indulge in quality dining options offering both local and international cuisine while enjoying stunning views from private balconies.
A masterpiece of modern tranquility on the edge of Lake Como. Our stay at Il Sereno was nothing short of extraordinary. The architecture, the views, and the atmosphere are unlike anything else on the lake — minimalist, refined, and deeply serene. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had stepped into a curated dream. A very special thank you to Georgios, whose warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail truly elevated our experience. He ensured every part of our stay — from property exploration to our day-to-day plans — was executed smoothly and always right on time. His genuine hospitality and deep knowledge of the property made us feel at ease and completely taken care of. Il Sereno is more than a hotel — it’s an experience in design, peace, and precision. We’ll return in a heartbeat.
Hasan M — Google review
Overall, our stay was wonderful—the property is stunning, the views are breathtaking, and the service was generally very good. Don’t get me wrong—my lower rating is not because the hotel lacks cleanliness or beauty. However, when you’re paying a premium to stay at a property of this caliber, your expectations naturally rise to meet that level. Unfortunately, the housekeeping fell short of those expectations. On two consecutive days, the bed linens had visible stains, and on one occasion, there appeared to be a bloodstain. This was not only disappointing but also unsettling, and it genuinely impacted the overall experience. For a hotel of this standard, such lapses simply shouldn’t happen. I hope this feedback is taken constructively and leads to improvements, as the hotel has so much potential to deliver a truly flawless experience.
Reza H — Google review
We travel a lot for work and pleasure, and I can confidently say it is one of our favorite hotels in the world! From the moment you step onto the property you receive the most thoughtful, attentive yet not overbearing service. We enjoyed the pool and restaurant (had both lunch and dinner!) and enjoyed the walk to the town to take the ferry around the lake. We enjoyed breakfast in our room both days (included in our Amex booking) overlooking the stunning view. The hotel’s secluded but accessible location and modern design make it a must visit. We will absolutely be back!
Kimberly D — Google review
The hotel offers a wonderful view, and the rooms are spacious with good features. However, the outdoor spa and swimming pool can be a drawback in cold or rainy weather. On the plus side, the spa is private, allowing you to reserve it for yourself for an hour. Unfortunately, the hotel lacks a hair salon, which would be a valuable amenity given its distance from the city. While the food tastes good, the portions are somewhat small.
Sumaia A — Google review
Stayed 6 nights at Il Sereno, beautiful rooms and good service. The food menu and presentation were nice, but the food lacked flavor. Unfortunately, the robes and towels were often not clean, and even after I reported it twice, they still arrived dirty. I also had a massage the therapist was excellent, but the massage bed was poor quality and noisy, making it hard to relax.
H A — Google review
Had a wonderful experience having dinner here at Il Sereno. Roberto and Chiara were excellent servers in explaining each dish, and we had a lot of fun with them! We also had a lot of fun on the balcony ordering drinks and a cigar with the bartender upstairs. Fantastic experience, would love to stay here someday!
Sean K — Google review
From the moment I arrived at Il Sereno, I knew I was somewhere extraordinary. The view of Lake Como from my suite was as impressive. Every detail of my stay felt intentional and seamless. The staff struck that perfect balance of warmth and discretion, always one step ahead without ever intruding. Everything invited me to slow down and simply be. Il Sereno didn’t just meet expectations; it gave me a sense of peace I didn’t know I needed. Coming back as soon as possible!

We stayed at Il Sereno for 3 nights in July and had an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The hotel service is truly 5-star, with incredibly attentive and friendly staff. Even though the hotel was fully booked during our stay, it still felt personal, intimate and private. Many times, you hardly noticed any other guests. The pool and spa were great! The staff were outstanding and helped with all transportation, boating, and dinner arrangements. With respect to the restaurant, we had seen mixed reviews but decided to have dinner at the hotel restaurant for one of our nights in Torno. We were so happy we did! The food was fantastic quality, service was top, and it really was a great experience overall. Thank you for such a great stay. We hope to return some time in the future.

Palazzo Albricci Peregrini luxury hotel is a refined and upscale accommodation located in the heart of Como's old town. Guests can enjoy a legendary breakfast served in a romantic garden surrounded by flowers and candles. The boutique hotel's serene ambience, Italian classicism, and artful minimalism create an oasis-like courtyard for relaxation.
Absolutely beautiful property. Large and spacious room overlooking the garden. Felt very quiet and private. Staff could not have been more welcoming. I was so impressed by the attention to detail (design, decor as well as service). The breakfast was spectacular! The array of food and the fact every morsel was homemade and exquisitely presented... utterly wonderful. I thoroughly loved my stay.

Stayed in the Palazzo Albricci Peregrini while in town for a wedding. The hotel is located in the old town and used to be the home of an Abbott. The rooms are nice and cozy and retain really cool details. It an older place so the A/C, water etc function accordingly. The hotel does provide bicycles with which to explore the town and the breakfast, the breakfast is the standout of the experience. Just an amazing, healthy, delicious courses breakfast every morning on a really cute patio. The owner is a really delightful woman and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to stay on the old town of the lake.

High recommend Palozzo Albricci Peregrini. The hotel is privately owned and very cozy. The service is bespoke and also location is amazing, just at the centre of Como town. Very happy that room was ready for us when we arrived in the morning after a long haul flight. We also got an upgrade, which was so amazing. The room is spacious and thoughtfully designed. Despite it being a historic building, nothing feels old, everything is very well maintained, including flushing power of toilet, water pressure. The breakfast was so amazing and it’s probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had, with so many options served to be step by step, instead of a buffet. Everything is so fresh! The staff are all very hospitable, kind and caring. I will definitely come back!

The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room spacious and thoughtfully designed, and the amenities were everything you could hope for in a boutique hotel. The staff was perfection—truly above and beyond. From helping me book a restaurant reservation to sending clear, detailed instructions on how to find the check-in desk, they made every part of my stay effortless. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a welcome drink and helpful local recommendations that added so much to my trip. And the breakfast—wow. It’s a full-on experience! You’re served multiple courses, each presented beautifully with the option to choose what you like. Every bite was fresh, homemade, and sourced locally. It felt luxurious yet only took about 30 minutes, so you can still get out early and explore the area. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Staying at Palazzo Albricci was a truly unforgettable experience. Five stars, without hesitation!

Elena and Julie at this hotel were extremely welcoming and helpful. They made the stay extra perfect. The whole place feels like a fairytale location, 14th century, only 10 rooms, very beautiful and boutique feeling. Right in the centre of the old town in Como. Close walk to all shops and the lake. The meals were exceptional, served in seemingly endless stages, both breakfast and dinner. Couldn’t stop taking pictures of all the meal stages. The meals are eaten along a picturesque garden pathway with slow jazz music playing. You have to try the cave bar - tiny, old, curved ceiling spot for two, looking out over the garden. We loved everything about the stay and the people who helped us throughout. Oh, and we ate at a number of places in Como and this was by far the best restaurant we found. Super service, outstanding food, enchanted setting. We stayed 4 nights - wished we could have stayed longer. Can’t wait to go back to this hotel. Superb!!!

Luxury Villa Torno Como Lake offers a range of stylish rooms with soothing neutral decor and stunning lake views. For those looking for minimalist lodging, Casa Olea in Cremia provides a chic yet spartan experience in a restored 18th-century vicarage.
Villa Torno is one of the most beautiful places to spend holiday or weekends near Milan. The house is very well curated, the attention to details is amazing. I loved the mix between the original old part of the house and the design of the new part. The spa area is a true experience, loved it. Also the whole garden was packed with amazing pieces of art. Erika was a perfect host, very nice and helpful! We will be back for sure! Highly recommend!

This house is very special and unique. Part of the house is a renovated quarry that is over 400 years old. The rest of the house is an addition that includes a sauna in the basement. The views are spectacular! The house has so many big windows that bring the outside in. The owner is wonderful, and Jenny, who manages the house, is extremely responsive to any questions or issues. We had a great stay!

I am beyond happy with our stay at Villa Torno by Lake Como and it exceeded my highest expectations! Erika is so friendly and kind and from the start to the end of our stay she and the people she's working with are there if you need anything. The villa is top renovated and modern while still being so unique. Everything worked perfectly, from the kitchen to the bathrooms to TV and fireplace. Just hanging out in the villa was truly a highlight of our trip. The view from the villa is breathtaking and in my opinion one of the best you can get around the area. I can't recommend Villa Torno enough for anyone who wants to have the best possible stay by Lake Como!

I usually shy away from staying at AIrbnb properties especially when I travel with my family because I worry about the risks of not finding the property or service as advertised. With Villa Torno, the villa was immaculate, modern yet perfectly suited for Como aesthetically, beautifully decorated, stocked with the necessary amenities, and just an overall beautiful place. I would not hesitate to go back there! Erika the host was also more than professional, accommodating and courteous. An overall perfect experience.

Erika is probably the most amazing host we have ever met. From pre-booking until check out, she was beyond flawless. Jenny who helped check us in was one of the nicest assistants we've met as well. The whole stay was truly amazing, zero complaints. Hot water, shower pressure, all the basic stuff was GREAT. Every little detail in the house -- from the big objets down to the kitchen pans -- have been selected with great love and care, you can literally feel it. Erika's own artwork adorn the place beautifully here and there - what a surprise to know that it was her who created them! I am truly speechless about this Airbnb -- 5 nights blew by, I could have stayed for 2 weeks easily. The private chef Gio & Simona were probably the best chef and dinner experience we've ever had as well. I really hope I'll be back next month and every year!!

If you decide to relax in VillaTorno, you will never regret it and will be happy to remember the days lived in this beautiful house. Erika, the owner of the villa, is always in touch, and her assistants will help with any question.️ To buy food in advance, if you come on weekends, to organise a romantic dinner with the chef in your kitchen, a boat trip on the lake. As well as amazing sunrises and sunsets, clean air and many interesting living things for little explorers. Dear Erika, as soon as possible, our family will definitely come back to visit❤️

Villa Torno was truly the epitome of luxury and calm. The grounds and villa and interior are truly stunning. The villa was even better than the photos suggested and flowed perfectly in harmony with a stunning view over Lake Como. Relaxing and rejuvenating beyond our expectations. We had planned multiple day trips, but our entire family of five simply loved soaking in the atmosphere. The greeting and responsiveness of the owner were five star with all questions and concerns addressed immediately. Highly recommend this villa as it is absolutely breathtaking and we will be back very soon. Thank you for a family memory that will last a lifetime.

This place is even more magical than the photos. Perched above the town of Torno with uninterrupted views of Lake Como on the site of an old limestone quarry from which the original structure was built. The Villa itself seamlessly blends the ancient stone architecture with modern elements of glass and steel to create ample space to both relax and entertain. Rooms are decorated with beautiful modern mixed-media art pieces, many of which were created by the owner herself. The grounds feature a variety of amenities including a hot tub, stone picnic area, large lawn, and a wooded "sanctuary" for meditation. Highly recommend this place!

I Giardini di Villa Melzi, located in Bellagio, Italy, is a stunning botanical garden surrounding the 19th-century neo-classical mansion of Villa Melzi d'Eril. The garden features picturesque trails, statues, pavilions, and breathtaking views of Lake Como. While the villa itself is not open to the public, visitors can explore the serene botanical gardens and capture its beauty through leisurely strolls or specialized tours.
This place is mesmerizing. Happy by just walking around the garden and taking few pictures. There are two exits. You can go out and return by asking the staff to stamp on your wrist. There’s entrance near the port, very easy to walk to this place. We did not buy the ticket in advance since we saw the notice in the booking website that we need to be in line to get ticket anyway. Luckily, there was no queue, I believe because we visited during weekday in the afternoon (Oct 6). Not too many people there. Recommend!

It’s a very beautiful garden right on the lake. I don’t mind paying 10€ just to walk through the park because it does take some work to maintain the garden. It’s a nice place, there’s a museum too. However you cannot enter the main villa and it’s just not that amazing overall. It’s still a great place to be away from the touristy centro of Bellagio

Nice place to stroll in Bellagio! The garden is super well-kept and even has tropical plants like banana trees 🍌🍌🍌 Great for photos, an afternoon walk, or just to chill after lunch. Worth a visit if you’re around!

Beautiful place for a 45-60 minute walk, to have the full experience. Nice walking paths along the garden with various plants and trees. All this goes along the Como lake waterfront.

Opening hours are daily 10 am to 6:30 pm. The gardens are closed in the winter time. In 2025 it will close on Oct 31st and will reopen in March 2026. Cost is 10€ you buy tickets at the gates. 2 gates entry one on each side. Located in the town of Bellagio on lake como. Parking is limited as the town of Bellagio is very popular in the summer.

The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and so well cared for. Everywhere you look, there’s beautiful greenery and an incredible variety of trees. It’s such a peaceful, stunning place to walk through. If you’re visiting Bellagio, this is a must see. I highly recommend making time for a visit.

Gorgeous gardens with different small hiding places and paths. Beautiful scenery, amazing views, you can really unwind and soothe your soul here. If you're into gardens you can't miss this one. If you're not so much into gardens, you should still visit this one.

Villa Melzi is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. The gardens are immaculate, peaceful, and filled with stunning colors, especially in spring. Every path reveals something new—ancient trees, vibrant flowers, classical statues, and breathtaking views of the lake. The atmosphere is serene and elegant, perfect for a relaxing stroll or quiet reflection. The neoclassical villa adds a timeless charm, and the small museum and chapel offer fascinating historical insight. The combination of nature, art, and history is truly unique. It felt like walking through a living painting.

Villa Sola Cabiati is the embodiment of Italianità—a place where heritage, artistry, and romance are seamlessly woven into its magnificent walls. While the villa itself is a masterpiece of elegance, what truly sets it apart is its impeccable staff. Their dedication to preserving and sharing the villa’s legacy is remarkable; they operate at the highest levels of luxury hospitality, yet with a warmth and passion that make every guest feel truly welcome. The Stucco Room is among the most breathtaking spaces I have ever stepped into—an exquisite showcase of intricate craftsmanship and timeless beauty. Having visited many Italian villas, I can confidently say that Villa Sola Cabiati is one of my absolute favorites. It is grand yet intimate, majestic yet deeply inviting. From the very moment you step onto the grounds, you are transported into another world—a world of refined beauty, history, and la dolce vita. Every corner of this storied villa is a tribute to artistry, heritage, luxury, and the effortless charm of Italy. Here I photographed S&D’s wedding, which was an unforgettable experience. To this day, their gallery remains one of my all-time favorites—a testament to the magic that unfolds within these walls.

The original stuccoes, floral frescoes, and wooden floors have been preserved to maintain the old-school Italian glamour.
To start, this was a wonderful beautiful hotel. Easy to get to from Milan. The staff is very helpful , kind and accommodating. Our flight was delayed a day and they senselessly moved our reservation to accommodate an extra day on the end, working with our third party booking site. We had a beautiful balcony room and loved that upon check in a bottle of champagne was waiting in our room for us. The restaurant in the hotel is delicious with great gluten free options. The breakfast buffet is delicious and huge. Very nice dock on the hotel where are boat was easily able to pick us up. We will definitely be back!! This hotel is so stunning it felt like the next white lotus should be filmed here.

I fell in love with every single detail and the rich history of this beautiful location. The hotel’s position right on Lake Como is simply magnificent — waking up to that view is unforgettable. The food and drinks were exceptional, perfectly complementing the magical setting. The staff truly made our stay special. A heartfelt thank you to Mattia Pizzagalli and Katerina, who were fantastic from start to finish. They showed us every charming corner of the villa and were incredibly knowledgeable about all the attractions around the lake. From boat rides to seaplane tours and restaurant bookings, they arranged everything with care and professionalism. Hotel Villa Flori is a perfect blend of history, luxury, and warm Italian hospitality. Highly recommended!

The Grand Hotel Victoria concept & spa, by R Collection Hotels, is a luxurious 5-star boutique hotel located in Menaggio on the shores of Lake Como. Housed in an elegant late 19th-century mansion with Liberty Neoclassic style, the hotel has been meticulously restored and offers enchanting gardens and breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. The Art-Nouveau design and elegant furnishings exude charm and sophistication, complemented by indoor and outdoor pools for relaxation.
We stayed at Hotel Grand Victoria for a few nights during our Lake Como trip and had a wonderful experience overall. The hotel is in a perfect location, right by the lake and close to shops, restaurants, and the ferry. Our room was beautiful and very spacious, with a large balcony overlooking the pool. We really enjoyed sitting out there and relaxing. The room was spotless, the bed was super comfortable, and everything felt elegant and well taken care of. Most of the staff were warm and helpful. The front desk and concierge were especially great, offering helpful recommendations and making us feel welcome. Breakfast on the terrace was another highlight, with plenty of fresh options and a view that was truly stunning. The only issue we had was with the service in the dining area. While the server was polite, communication was very limited. Responses were often just “yes” with no explanation, even when we asked a question. It made things a little confusing and felt a bit impersonal compared to the rest of the experience. That said, everything else was lovely. The hotel is peaceful, stylish, and a great place to enjoy the beauty of Lake Como. We would definitely come back.
Sid G — Google review
We stayed at the Grand Hotel Victoria in July 2025. The hotel was renovated recently, and they spared no expense. Our room had a mountain, pool, and lake view. It was modest in size, but not small and very clean and well appointed. The spa is fantastic with incredible steam rooms, a large pool, different saunas, showers, cold room and cold immersion areas. It's a massive spa area that you can use even without booking spa services. I had a wonderful deep tissue massage, so don't skip it if you like a relaxing massage or facial. The outdoor pool is beautiful and we had no issue getting a bed or chairs each day. The restaurant is phenomenal, with excellent food and service and indoor and outdoor seating all with a view of Lake Como. In fact it was one of the better dining experiences we had in Italy. The service is incredible across the board. I wouldn't hesitate to come back, especially if you want

Absolutely fabulous place! The staff was amazing and went above and beyond. Room was spacious with two bathrooms and a terrace, plus some lovely treats left in our room on a daily basis. Breakfast was so delicious and abundant - fresh juice and fruits, hot buffet, cheeses, meats and breads. And the view! Stunning. I didn’t want to leave!
Our F — Google review
The staff truly made our stay exceptional. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine sense of hospitality were evident at every moment, creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. A special mention goes to Mrs Speziale, who graciously upgraded us to a room with a better view as soon as it became available during our stay, a thoughtful gesture that we greatly appreciated. The concierge team was also outstanding, managing to secure tables in fully booked restaurants and arranging a driver for us even at the very last minute. The spa was another highlight: impressively spacious and perfectly designed for complete relaxation. We also loved the various areas dedicated to rest and leisure, including the swimming pool and the beach club. Everything seems carefully planned to ensure that guests can fully enjoy themselves, even over several days. Breakfast was remarkable, generous, varied, and delicious. Fresh watermelon juice, chocolate fondants, focaccia, and many other options made every morning a real pleasure. The only minor drawback was the payment policy: the room had to be prepaid by card over the phone to confirm the booking, unlike other hotels where paying on-site is possible. Still, this small inconvenience was far outweighed by the overall quality of the service and the thoughtful touches that made our stay so enjoyable.

As Wedding photographers, we love to work at Villa Balbiano because it offers numerous opportunities to create fairytale Wedding pictures. The villa has incredible views from every angle and beautiful architecture of the Baroque era. Getting ready takes mostly place at the Villa itself or the hotel nearby, like Grand Hotel Tremezzo. You can arrive at the venue by boat. The ceremony can be held behind the Villa with the lake view or in front of the Villa in the French garden. For the dinner, you can choose between a glasshouse (for an extra charge), in the garden or inside the villa (for smaller Wedding societies). The villa has lots of rules and restrictions - as it has lots of original objects of art - so it's recommended to hire professionals (Wedding planners, photographers, florists, videographers, musicians etc.) who already have experience working there. We wish an unforgettable experience to everyone who is getting married there! Mila & Stephan from Vivid Symphony Photography.

Villa Regina Teodolinda, located in Laglio on Lake Como, has a rich history dating back to the 6th century. Once a favored retreat for Milan's elite, it now offers six renovated suites with views of the lake and a traditional courtyard adorned with lights. The venue is known for hosting weddings and can accommodate up to 70 people for ceremonies and receptions. With its rustic charm and premium lakeside location, this exclusive hotel provides a relaxing ambiance for guests.
Villa Regina Teodolinda is an absolute jewel on Lake Como – the perfect venue for a romantic and elegant destination wedding in Italy. I had the honor of photographing an elopement and was blown away by the charm of the villa, the breathtaking lakefront views, and the intimate, fairytale atmosphere it creates. The lush garden, private dock, and historic interiors offer stunning photo opportunities at every turn. It is not a very big location but for a small group of guests totally enough. This venue is ideal for couples looking for an exclusive and truly unforgettable wedding experience on Lake Como. I would be thrilled to return and capture more beautiful love stories in this magical place. Julia Löffler

We had our dream wedding at Villa Regina Teodolinda – and it truly exceeded every expectation. From the stunning lakefront views to the elegance of the villa itself, everything felt like a fairytale. But what made it absolutely exceptional was Beatrice. She did more than she supposed to do. Her attention to detail, warmth, and ability to handle every little request with calm and grace made us feel completely taken care of. Our guests are still talking about the atmosphere, the food, the setting… and of course, the incredible staff. Beatrice made planning from abroad easy and stress-free. We trusted her, and she delivered beyond words. If you’re considering a destination wedding or a special event on Lake Como, look no further. This place is magic – and Beatrice is the reason it works so flawlessly. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We’ll never forget it.

The people were great. The parking was a bit difficult. I was told that is how the whole area is like with parking. Just a cultural thing. Being American I am just use to ample parking. No tv’s. No in room refrigerator. No desks. Just a place to sleep.

The setting of Villa Regina Teodolinda is beautiful, but unfortunately the overall experience does not match the location. The villa itself is in need of updating, and both the food and services fell below expectations for a venue in this price category. The management company also applies extremely high charges for basic services that are not delivered at a professional standard. For example, a sound system valued at only a few thousand euros was rented out for more than €13,000 per night, and even then it was unreliable. For any event, this can be a serious issue. Additionally, there is an ongoing dispute regarding the return of the security deposit, which has added unnecessary stress to the newlyweds’ honeymoon. As professionals in the event industry, we recommend future clients carefully review what is being promised versus what is actually provided. The location is charming, but the service, costs, and management practices leave much to be desired.

nice place, photographs well. However the communications and organization was very sub par for this kind of place. Inconsistency of regulations, hidden charges and mistakes in the invoices that the wedding party need to correct multiple times. no choice of entertainment agency (one has exclusivity with the venue) Wedding party the day before call the cops because their gifts were stolen.

The villa looks very dreamy and romantic from the outside, and the interior style perfectly matches that charm. There’s also convenient parking available. The rooms and common areas are very outdated, and the entire villa is in need of a full renovation. We had mold in the bathroom, on the walls, and around the windows. Other elements—like the furniture and window blinds—were literally falling apart. Unfortunately, the staff were not polite, and we didn’t feel welcomed at all. I was genuinely surprised this place is used as a wedding venue, considering the poor condition of the interior.

We rented this villa for a wedding, but the staff working inside were extremely rude and inconsiderate. The listing said breakfast was included for the next morning, but the breakfast was terribly poor. There were barely any options, not even eggs, and what was there was so low in quality. For the price we paid, this was a huge disappointment.

Villa Regina Teodolinda is pure romance on Lake Como. We've photographed multiple weddings here, and every time, we’re reminded why this villa is so special. With its stunning lakefront location, elegant architecture, and intimate charm, it feels like stepping into a fairytale. One of the most magical moments is arriving by boat—there’s nothing quite like gliding across the lake and seeing the villa’s beauty unfold before you. The gardens, the charming terraces, and the serene waters make every wedding here feel effortlessly elegant. Beyond the beauty, the service is always impeccable, ensuring that every couple has a stress-free and unforgettable experience. If you’re dreaming of a Lake Como wedding with timeless elegance and breathtaking views, Villa Regina Teodolinda is simply perfect. — Peter & Veronika

Villa Marina is an elegant bed and breakfast housed in a restored Art Nouveau building from the early 1900s, located in Bellano, Lombardy. The property boasts a private beach area, two lake-view terraces, and a charming garden overlooking the lake. The air-conditioned rooms feature wood-panelled ceilings, travertine floors, and modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs, minibars, and safes.
Stayed for two nights & this was exactly what we were looking for. On the lake, good breakfast spread and super helpful staff. We also enjoyed the hot tub! This is truly a 20 min walk from the train station, so I do suggest a taxi with luggage (€15) but 10 minutes to the ferry. The staff helped us book taxis, gave great dinner recs along with making reservations & helped answer any & all questions. Worth noting, do download WhatsApp as they are not available 24/7! Would stay again.

My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Villa Marina during our first visit to Lake Como, and it truly exceeded every expectation. The beauty of the lake is undeniable, but what made our experience truly unforgettable was the care and hospitality we received from Alissa and her mom, Manuela. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel completely at home. Their warmth, kindness, and attention to detail are unmatched—this was by far one of the best customer service experiences we’ve ever had. You can tell they genuinely care about every guest and go above and beyond to make your stay special. The villa itself is stunning—immaculately clean, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by peaceful gardens and breathtaking views. It was the perfect place to relax, recharge, and soak in the charm of Lake Como. We are so grateful to Alissa and Manuela for making our stay so memorable. If you’re thinking of visiting Lake Como, staying at Villa Marina is an experience you won’t want to miss. To Alissa and Manuela—thank you both, sincerely. You made our trip one we’ll remember dearly.

A MUST. I would go back tomorrow if I could. Highly recommend this bed & breakfast! Alice, Manuela, and Marco were all wonderful. Breakfast was incredible! The views were spectacular. It was so nice getting away from the crowds too! Still easy walking distance to the ferry. The hot tub is a major plus. They took such great care of us! Highly recommend.

WOW! This was an incredible stay: very helpful and attentive staff, beautiful accommodations, and stellar location. The breakfast was buffet style, and upon asking for gluten-free to accommodate my allergy, Manuella had a dedicated gluten free area set up for me. Francesca was so kind and helped us with several things through our stay. We hope to come back!

What an incredible stay!! We stayed at Villa Marina about 2 weeks ago and had such a wonderful stay. Angelo helped us with EVERYTHING. We adore him and his attention to detail and ability to answer all our questions. The Villa is gorgeous and on the water. We were able to enjoy a delicious breakfast, kayaking, beautiful sunset from the room, the jacuzzi was fantastic. We will definitely stay here again. Angelo gets an A+ and the Villa as well. We loved our stay in Bellano.

Perfect stay! The emplacement directly at the lake. Lovely garden, nice private beach. Small hotel with beautiful details and historic rooms with perfect decorations. Warm welcome - also with icecold prosecco in the room. Wonderful jacuzzi. Good breakfast - which can also be enjoyed on the terrace. Secured parking available for a charge. The villa is the perfect starting point for excursions on and round Lake Como area as it is in walking distance to Bellano port. Special thanks to Angelo, he is a great host and made everything for us to have a memorable stay.

I can’t say enough about our experience here! My wife and I were on a month-long honeymoon throughout Italy, Switzerland and France, and this was our absolute favorite place that we stayed! Marco and his wife Tanya were as good as it gets when it comes to managing hotels! Truly, they were that good! Only 6 rooms so you get such personalized service that I can’t decide which we enjoyed more, the idyllic vistas or the service! Trust me, if you’re visiting Lake Como book this place now!

Villa Mojana Deluxe Lodging and Private Winery is an upscale collection of lakeview suites near Bellagio, situated at the point where Lake Como splits in two. The villa features a privately-owned winery, Cantine Radino, offering seven wine options for sampling on a romantic terrace overlooking the lake. Guests can enjoy breakfast and light bites made from quality local produce and participate in cooking courses held in the ground-floor kitchen.
Beautiful Rooms, stunning view of the lake, great breakfast, excellent service and most important: amazing staff. The staff really made this experience absolutely incredible. Every single person was truly amazing and you could feel that everybody was passionate about their job. Thanks for the beautiful stay!

My husband and I had the most amazing stay at this hidden gem! Away from the hustle and overcrowded Bellagio, this precious B&B was peaceful and a complete 5 star experience! We stayed for 4 nights in late September of 2024 and loved every moment. The room was cozy, always clean and had the most amazing view of the lake and the small creek/ waterfall running alongside the hotel. The property itself was like a picture out of a magazine offering scenic views of the lake and a peaceful oasis away from tourists. Even though the room was perfect, the views were breath taking - the 5 star achievement was earned by every member on staff. From the receptionists, the onsite chef, the grounds manager, and our wonderful waiter: they were the kindest staff we’ve ever encountered at a hotel. Each and every one of them went above and beyond for our requests (taxi arrangements, amazing personalized dinners, even sincere conversations) and so much more. My husband and I always stay on the outskirts of touristy cities where ever we travel and this B&B was more than what we had hoped for! I will forever recommend this hotel and I plan to make it my only hotel when I return to Lake Como in the future! *if you are planning to frequent Bellagio, email the sweet receptionists before your travel dates to book taxis in advance! During busy months, the few car services get booked up, but the staff got us taken care of! The bus was VERY easy to take from Bellagio to the B&B. The bus stop is a few steps from the hotel and about a 8 minute ride in total. Very easy to navigate!*

From the moment my wife and I arrived at Villa Mojana, we knew we were in for a special treat. The villa’s breathtaking views are truly to die for, providing a serene escape just a short 7-minute drive from downtown Bellagio. It’s the perfect balance: close enough to enjoy the vibrant city center, yet far enough to offer complete tranquility. One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible culinary experience. The private chefs created amazing breakfasts and dinners, delighting us with delicious, gourmet meals that added a touch of luxury to each day. The villa itself is a haven of peace and luxury. We spent countless hours by the stunning infinity pool, soaking in the panoramic views and enjoying the serene atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, making sure we felt at peace at every moment of our stay. Villa Mojana provided the perfect getaway for us. For a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and convenience, we highly recommend Villa Mojana. It made our stay unforgettable.

We rented Villa Mojana for our wedding weekend and it was absolutely amazing! The views are breathtaking - each room has its own amazing view. The landscape is gorgeous and beautifully maintained. The heated infinity pool overlooking the lake and mountainside is perfect. Breakfast every morning on the outdoor terrace was phenomenal. We held our ceremony on the terrace & continued into the night with beautiful drinks and snacks. The Villas private chef made us a delicious 3-course dinner, which included one of the best things we ate while in Italy - slow cooked beef ragu with homemade pasta. The staff at Villa Mojana are extremely accommodating and hardworking. All I can say is WOW & thank you so much to Villa Mojana and their staff. We had the most amazing time here with our family and friends. If you’re looking to rent a private villa for an intimate event on Lake Como - this is your place!
Kiley M — Google review
Villa Mojana is a small cute boutique hotel. It’s very quiet and private but I would not stay here again due to location. Pros: The villa is very clean and modern with helpful staff. Wonderful lake views with a great pool looking over the lake. The restaurant had a nice included breakfast each morning. Dinner was very good where you could watch the exec chef cook your food from your table. Cons: Location was terrible. You can’t walk to anything, there is not even a sidewalk in front of the hotel. For how small the property is with a very very limited restaurant menu, it’s a huge con to not have any other restaurant options in walking distance. The restaurant was nice but you could only eat here one night - there were 2 appetizers, 2 pastas, 2 entrees and 2 desserts on the entire menu and it did not change, it was the same each night. Another thing I wish we would have known is how challenging taxis are. They are by no means guaranteed and you have to work with the front desk to secure them in advance every single time you want to go in and out of town. Plus the reception closes at 9pm so if you need a taxi after that, you may have a problem. On top of that, the taxis are minimum 30euro each way for the 10 min drive to the town of Bellagio. Generic taxis like other cities in Italy do not exist here. We arrived via the Lecco train station and opted to take the bus to the stop the hotel had said (limonta) which was 20 feet from the villa entrance but again, NO sidewalk. We had to sprint across the windy busy road with our luggage praying to not be hit by a car while walking the side of the road. You CANNOT stay at this property without renting a car and even with that, I’m not sure it’s worth it since it seemed pretty challenging to find parking in downtown Bellagio. It’s a shame because the property is very beautiful but the location was really horrible. My husband and I both agreed we would not stay here again and would opt to stay in one of the towns like Bellagio or Varenna with walkability.

Villa Mojana is an absolute gem of a place! All the hotel staff are super helpful, and kind. The views from the rooms are stunning, beds are super comfortable for a good night sleep, and the interior design of the place is modern yet relaxing. The daily breakfast was really nourishing. We loved our stay and wished we could’ve stayed longer!
Charmian W — Google review
I feel so lucky we had the opportunity to stay here! What an absolutely stunning place! I wanted to stay forever. The staff is so warm, friendly and helpful. The views are next level. The style of the Villa is exactly the vibe you would imagine while staying on Lake Como. The room (rustic with balcony) was so cozy. I love that there are only a few rooms on the property, it makes it more intimate. Throughout our stay, we tried the breakfast, lunch and dinner; which were all very simple, but delicious meals. It’s very nice to have the option of swimming in the pool or at the beach which is a 7 minute walk (don’t forget your water shoes!). We didn’t end up renting a car in Italy, so we arrived by ferry and getting to the hotel was very easy. (Keep in mind that the whole area is mountainous and you will have to be walking up stairs or hills wherever you go.) The location in Limonta was also perfect for us. We travelled by ferry to all of the places we wanted to see and had a great time. Thanks to everyone at Villa Mojana!

Ronco Dell'Abate is a charming four-room B&B located in a quiet part of Como, converted from a villa with an authentic and opulent design. The interiors feature ornate parquet flooring, wood paneling, and beautiful tiles that exude charm and history. Guests can also enjoy tours of the magnificent villas that once hosted Italian and European nobility, writers, and artists by the lake.
I spent 3 days here and ut was an absolute dream. The entire location and the room was superb. Susanna was also very friendly and always there if I needed help. I will come back for sure and I recommend this place to anyone who appreciates some quiet time and aesthetic interiors from the 60s and later. Breakfast options are classics and always fresh and good.

Definitely a beautiful location and worthy of a high recommendation - but short comings are the location is away from Como shopping and dining and shore front. Taxis aren’t reliable and are expensive. Needed to catch the local bus. Transport advice from staff was vague. Breakfast was lovely.

Beautiful place, like a palace, comfortable beds, but..... WC sewage doesn't function, only after 3 or 4 flushes. There was no water, just some drips.... there a problem and I must say the reception girl solved everything, booked room in another place and gave back what we had paid for the 1st night. Pity all these problems because the hotel is really beautiful
Ana A — Google review
My experience at this hotel was extremely negative, and the main reason was the behavior of Susanna, the receptionist. From the very beginning, my Booking.com reservation clearly stated: a suite with two bedrooms, each with a double bed. However, upon check-in, I was shocked to find that the suite had only one bedroom, which was completely different from what was stated in the booking. When I tried to discuss the issue with Susanna, she was always angry, did not speak proper English, and constantly interrupted me — sometimes even using Italian words that I could not understand. We arrived at the hotel at 2:00 PM, but we were greeted in an unfriendly manner. Susanna insisted that, according to Booking.com and their messages, check-in was at 3:00 PM. In most hotels, even if check-in is later, guests are at least allowed to enter the property and wait, but here the situation was handled in a very unpleasant way. The biggest shock came at check-out: ten minutes before the official time, at 10:50 AM, I had already returned the room and went downstairs to have a cup of coffee before leaving. Susanna approached me and demanded that I leave the premises immediately, claiming that check-out was at 11:00 AM — even though in every other hotel I’ve stayed at, I was always allowed to use the common areas both before check-in and after check-out. Conclusion: A very negative experience, with unprofessional behavior from the receptionist that completely ruined all my expectations before arriving.

We had great few days at Ronco Dell'Abate this October. The house is something out of this world, beautiful, full of history and a bit quirky thanks to the combination of the styles that somehow work very well together. In addition, we had a great host, Silvano, who was helpful and accommodating before and during our stay. Being close but a bit outside of the Como's downtown, tucked in this house and its beautiful garden, worked very well for us. Thank you for the good times, we are looking forward to coming back here!

Fantastico. A beautiful early 20th C villa and gardens in a great spot above Como town. It's a bit of a walk from the centre but they will order you a taxi if you prefer. All the staff are super, very kind. A special mention to Lucia one of the managers and storied cook. Her book is fantastic, if you are interested in Italian Vegetarian cooking (who isnt !?? ) - "La Cucina Verde" by Lucia Papponi. The suites are wonderfully authentic, but with comfortable beds and aircon. Our lemon yellow and parquet period bathroom was incredible. Looking forward to returning one day soon. Grazie a voi.

An absolutely fantastic stay! We stayed in Tulip, which was comfortable and well-stocked. The views from the private balcony are amazing! Sofa bed was comfortable and very easy to fold up when needed. Both property managers were so incredibly kind and helpful - they offered to help book taxis for arrival/departure (which I’d highly recommend), allowed us to store luggage before checkin and after checkout, and even gave access to pool facilities during those 2 times! An easy walk to the main area of Varenna too. Grazie!!

Thanks Christian and MG for a fabulous stay. The Villa's Primrose apartment was great for our family of four. Adults had their own room, and the kids had their space. Plus a living room/dining room to hang out in our have meals. We found it very relaxing that the Villa was a few hundred yards from Varenna proper...at times it was very busy in town. The small pool deck was great for a dip in the pool or sunning. The table at the deck hosted two dinners for us...I think this is the best dinner view of Lake Como. I recommend buying your beverages and groceries at the Imperal about 15 minutes south in Mandello del Lario. The shops in Varenna are small selections and very spendy.
