Mediterranean restaurant
Il Gatto Nero is a charming restaurant located above Cernobbio, offering a traditional dining room and terrace with stunning views of the lake. Recommended by local photographer Lilly Red, this hillside spot serves up elevated regional dishes and Italian wines. The menu features rich, meaty options such as crispy Milanese cutlet and tortellini filled with braised meat in a Barolo-butter-Parmesan bath.
Always special, I love returning here! Pearched high on the hillside w/ a magnificent view of the lake, Il Gatto Nero maintains it charm over the years. This cozy romantic restaurant goes unspoiled even after countless seasons of being a local and a traveler's valued spot. The service is always genuinely warm and engaging. Their cuisine is exquisite and artful presented. A perfect SPECIAL experience.

We had such a fabulous dinner at Gatto Nero! From start to finish, the experience was exceptional!! The food was absolutely delicious, and the wine selection was perfect. Our waiter gave us excellent recommendations, and each dish was better than the last. The atmosphere was charming, and the view made it all even more memorable. We highly recommend Gatto Nero to anyone visiting Lake Como it’s a must-visit for an unforgettable meal! (The perfect date night spot if you’re traveling with your significant other!!)

Food: bland is the best review I can give. It was okay-ish. Absolutely not worth the price tag. Service: the service was adequate. Friendly enough. Big problem - I had told them it was our honeymoon and ask we be seated (IF POSSIBLE) by the window or the edge. They had said to get an earlier reservation and ask for it. Which I did. When we arrived, we were the first people there. They sat us in the very BACK. The furthest away from the view possible. They said they had reservations for the tables close to the view. That’s fine, if someone already got it - totally fine. BUT nobody came for those seats the entire time. There was actually only one other table there the whole time we were there. Huge let down on the service. For the price tag, I would have expected more attention to our accommodation. Really crappy to do. Right before we finished, an hour later, one couple showed up and took one of the 6 view-tables. I read the reviews but thought I would give them a chance - bad idea. Believe the reviews. There are so many better places for the money. Just go somewhere else.

Our best night in Cernobbio! The evening in Gatto Nero felt like a dream from the fairytale! From the first moment we had full attention from staff, great sommelier advices us perfect wine and the food was divine. Entire staff made us feel welcomed and home and took lovely pictures of us and gave us a tour of the entire restaurant, even tho some areas were closed. We were treated like VIP’s. Can’t wait to be back!
Ludmila S — Google review
Good food with a stunning view! I went there with my family and had an amazing time. I love their asparagus creme Brule and the pumpkin soup. Their price is on the higher side, but giving the location it is understandable. If you're not on a tight budget definitely give it a try! Also, if you're traveling in a group, I suggest you book in advance.
S T — Google review
The views are unmatched…but the food comes close. We were grateful to eat here when we couldn’t find parking in Como Town and this restaurant had parking AND availability for a last minute reservation request. We all enjoyed our pasta with views of Lake Como, would def go again!
Tammy V — Google review
We were genuinely excited to dine here, especially after hearing such great things about the view—which, to be fair, was absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, that ended up being the only redeeming part of our evening. We don’t typically write negative reviews or criticize service, but our experience from start to finish was deeply disappointing. We sat for over 30 minutes with menus before our server came over to ask if we had questions. When our server finally arrived, he didn’t introduce himself or even greet us. The first things he said was "Yes, I'm ready". When a member of our party tried to ask a question about a dish, he shouted (over the extremely loud music), “Decide because I can’t hear you.” We placed our entire order at once—cocktails, wine, and all courses—and the server walked off, dropping our menus loudly on a nearby table as he left. A short while later, he returned with cold bread and oil and vinegar, but we weren’t given any plates, so we had no way to eat it. We assumed he was waiting to serve the wine with the first course, but even once our food arrived, we didn’t have wine glasses. We had to ask for the bottle ourselves, and despite finishing it during the first course, we received no wine service at all—no refills, no check-in, and no offer of a second bottle. After the first course, we saw another server bring out our entrees, only to turn around and head back into the kitchen when he noticed we still had dirty plates on the table. Our main courses didn’t arrive for another seven minutes, and unfortunately, every plate was cold. My steak, ordered medium rare (see photo below), was served nearly well done, and the chicken dish was very dry and clearly overcooked. Throughout the meal, our server made several rude and sarcastic remarks, and we had to ask three separate times for bottled water before another staff member finally brought it. At the end of the evening, no one—our server, the host, or even the manager we spoke to while arranging our car—checked in to ask how our experience was. Overall, we were extremely disappointed. This was, unfortunately, an abysmal experience from start to finish. We had really hoped for a memorable dining experience, but sadly, it was memorable for all the wrong reasons.
Kallan H — Google review
We had a really lovely dinner, service by Luca was very good. I don’t give out five stars too often, think a solid four was the right outcome. The food was good, but not unforgettable, but the views - nestled as the restaurant is up in the hills above Cernobbio - were amazing. Just make sure you call and ask for a table on the terrace, or near the window on the top floor (we were tucked away on the lower floor, still enjoyed the environment, but diluted the view for us a wee bit). Had the tagliatelle with burrata, the chicken, the vitello tonnato and the tiramisu. Again, all were pretty good. Will defo come back.

Ristorante Materia is a charming bistro-style restaurant adorned with modern art, attracting a local crowd for its innovative cuisine in Como. Chef Davide Caranchini's expertise and passion for vegetables, cultivated in his own greenhouse, are evident in the elegant presentations and unusual flavor combinations. The menu features imaginative Asian-inspired dishes using local ingredients like lake fish, paired with natural wines.
We enjoyed the meal ! We love what we ordered , the flavors are very unique ! We have the business 2 courses meal which is super worth it ! They are also very flexible with the dish as I can’t take dairy . The service is really good !!

So… With a bunch of Michelin-starred places visited around the world I have to concude that this one I wouldn’t really recommend to everyone I know. Only to those who go to Michelin-starred places and want to visit all of them. I noticed that most attention is paid to people ordering sets, which is not really fair. The wine selection is a nice one, with a focus on biodynamic, natural or rare wines. By-glass Sauvignon is not for everyone, it will have a different taste. I am in wine industry so to me it was understandable as a wine. The food was great, but great as experimental. The pigeon is served not fully cooked and even me loving pigeons…I couldn’t eat it. Fresh bird meat is a bit too much. The sweet compliment they bring in the end is delicious. We took it home and enjoyed every single piece.

Unforgettable experience. The food is absolutely delicious and the flavors are uniquely inspired. Treat yourself with good food and great service. Special thanks go Ambra and her colleagues for the special treatment.

Very tasty tasting menu, both for non veg and veggie. Loved the mackerel The atmosphere is a little stark and quite for my liking but the food makes up.for it all

We had the business lunch at 25€ for a two course meal, water and coffee included. For a Michelin star restaurant, it's quite affordable. Unfortunately, the overall experience was not at the level you can expect from a One Star restaurant. We were seated at the back of the restaurant, the room had no window and the atmosphere was sad and not welcoming. The food was ok I guess, but you come with much higher expectation for a Michelin star. Not only the taste was just average, but the duck confit was too dry and the pasta with short rib ragu was too salty. We figured it's because we took the business lunch, so we decided to order the chef signature desert which is a safran mousse with bone marrow ice and some other stuffs with bone marrow. It was "ok" but not well balanced as we tasted mainly the safran and not the bone marrow at all or ever so sligthly that it's a bit useless. The service was average. The waiters were nice, but I had to ask twice for the beverages menu and so I only had water for my starter. Later on I ordered a coffee to go with the desert and I did not get it as well. To be honest, I also forgot about it up until we were leaving. I told the waitress that I did not get the coffee, she was surprised and propose me to have it, but we were already leaving... Maybe it was a bad day for the restaurant, but compared to other Michelin Star restaurant, it's a bit underwhelming.
Quan N — Google review
It was good until we got plastic in one of the dishes. They were very apologetic but I don't think this is acceptable from a michelin star restaurant. The service was good and the atmosphere was good but the food was very disappointing. We even got their special momentum course so we had high hopes. They discounted us from paying for the long course and we ended up paying for the short course. The food was alright but once you see big plastic on the plate it just makes everything go down hill.
Rachel — Google review
A stunning experience! I dined here solo for lunch. I was the first to arrive during their lunch service and got to pick my table. Everything was prepared impeccably and the courses were inventive. I particularly enjoyed the tender veal tongue with the tangy rosehip sauce. The dessert "Memories from a trip to Columbia" was excellent too, delicious and so playful with all the different textures. Don't pass up the espresso & treats - I would go back just for them. However, I was not a fan of the pike perch. It was my first time trying this type of fish. It was prepared perfectly so it is a matter of personal preference. The service was very attentive and quick, always standing by ready to assist and letting me enjoy the meal at my own pace. They clearly explained each course as it arrived. It is very clear that everyone there takes pride in their work - their passion translated into every aspect of the experience. It was a treat to witness such art. Well deserving of their Michelin star! I took the ferry from Como and walked over to the restaurant. It was easy to get to and Cernobbio was nice to explore with benches that have a great view of the lake.

The food was top notch, as was the service. But the restaurant really won me over with their attention to detail. They even brought out surprises to sample. When we couldn’t find a taxi home, they personally called us one that arrived immediately. Overall an amazing experience.

Takeout Restaurant

La Fagurida is a family-run Italian restaurant located on the lakes western shore in Tremezzo. The rustic atmosphere and locally sourced food make it a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. During the colder months, expect roast rabbit with rosemary and polenta, while in summer dishes featuring lake fish are popular. Reservations are recommended, but seating is available on a first come, first serve basis. Alcohol is served here, as well as credit cards and table service.
The view from the restaurant is beautiful. Friendly and attentive staff. We had some delicious starters of buffalo mozzarella with prosciutto and bruschetta. The steak here is a must! All the food is excellently prepared.
Samuel T — Google review
Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Gorgeous views, wonderful food, and warm service. Everything we had was spectacular - the bruschetta might be our favorite dish of Italy, second only to the delicious tiramisu for dessert. Would recommend to anyone going to Tremezzo - thank you!!
Madison W — Google review
La Fagurida was hands down the best restaurant we visited in Tremezzo. The food was absolutely amazing—authentic, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The warm, rustic atmosphere paired with stunning lake views made the experience unforgettable. It was the perfect setting for a relaxed yet special evening, and truly the highlight of our trip to Lake Como. A must-visit!
Jessica O — Google review
The view from this restaurant is truly spectacular. It is quite mesmerising to look down on lake como surrounded by these rolling hills and seeing how beautifully every building has been built on such steep slopes. Our waitor was fantastic too. He was very helpful in explaining the menu to us and even teaching us some Italian! Unfortunately we were left a little disappointed with the food, especially since we had read such great reviews online about this place. We came here in September, the perfect time for Italian tomatoes but felt that both our caprese salad and out bruscetta could have done with some better tomatoes. The mozzarella was delicious! My rabbit ragu was quite dry. I understand that this is the texture of rabbit since it is quite a lean meat, however, this specific pasta was particularly lacking in my opinion. The fish was delicious too but we felt that the salad could have done with a little more dressing. The grilled vegetables were great. We also enjoyed our Tiramisu
G. L — Google review
Ristorante La Fagurida is an absolute gem perched above Lake Como- rustic, warm, and full of character. As soon as you sit down (especially if you get a terrace table), the view of the lake and hills sets the tone for a truly memorable meal! We tried the roasted rabbit with polenta, and it was outstanding. The rabbit was tender, perfectly seasoned, with a subtle aroma of herbs and grill, while the polenta beside it was creamy, rich, comforting, just what you want to soak up all the flavors! Everything felt homemade: the starters, the fresh antipasti... The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience feel personal, not just another dinner out. If you’re anywhere near Tremezzo, this is one of those places you shouldn’t miss La Fagurida delivers both heart and taste!
Eldar B — Google review
Excellent food with incredible views. Would highly recommend if visiting Como!
Arnab B — Google review
Very cute cozy restaurant with homey food. Some dishes on point others not so much
Nadine A — Google review
Local kitchen heaven! If you want to eat where the locals do, then book early and enjoy the best Italian cooking. Make the effort, it’s worth it and eat the specials. If you’re here for porcini season, then you’re in for a treat. And the rabbit is to die for. This is what Italian food is all about. Enjoy!

Feel Como is a small and well-maintained restaurant located in the historic center of Como. The elegant space features rustic-chic decor and a summer garden, offering refined set menus that highlight local produce. Chef Federico Beretta's cuisine focuses on exalting lake fish with dishes like sturgeon tonne, rice and perch, carp with white celery, and more. The restaurant also offers modern cuisine with options like elderberry pie with salted caramel.
For those looking for a fine dining experience experience, this restaurant does the trick. It’s not inexpensive but it is an enjoyable experience with great food - presentation and taste) and excellent, attentive service. Heater is very knowledgeable and manages to give personal attention to all of the tables. We had a lovely evening there. Thank you.
Roberta B — Google review
We had a lovely dining experience here during our trip to Como. The service was exceptional, with the staff providing great insight into the history of the wines paired with each meal. The complimentary starters were a delightful touch, bursting with amazing flavours. For our entrée, we chose the gnocchi and ravioli. While the starters set a high standard, the pasta dishes didn’t quite meet our expectations in terms of flavour. My partner’s main course, the beef cheek, was delicious, but unfortunately, my duck breast was a bit tough, and the flavour didn’t quite come through. However, the apple pie we both had for dessert was absolutely incredible and the perfect end to our meal.
Ellie — Google review
Spent a week on Bellagio, Lake Como and went into Como town once to eat here specifically. Such a special restaurant and experience. They made the tasting menu special for me because of my dietary preferences. The waiter was very attentive and the chef an artist. Definitely a special experience as the photos show the beautiful and delicious food.
Kevin S — Google review
Came on a friend’s recommendation and left satisfied. We did the Forest dinner tasting menu at 130 euros. I am gluten intolerant and they accommodated very well including a nice bread served warm. Aside from the mushroom amuse bouche the rest were good. My favorites dishes were the tempura and the hare which was a wonderful texture. The service was excellent and the chef also kindly came out to say hello. It was a nice cozy place with comfortable chairs and lighting where the table spacing makes it easy to have a conversation.
Patricia T — Google review
This place is INCREDIBLE! It is a perfect hidden gem with six tables and definitely Michelin star quality. We dined here for my 40th birthday and it was absolutely perfect! We did the autumn tasting menu with the wine pairing, which was perfect! The server was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. Chef made his appearance many times bringing out dishes. The attention to every detail was stunning. This was by far one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. ❤️
Cassie N — Google review
This establishment truly epitomizes the pinnacle of our culinary journey. My wife and I experienced a romantic yet delectable evening here last night. Opting for two courses each, rather than samplers, we were delighted by the exceptional taste of every dish. The restaurant’s mastery in utilizing local produce and cuisine transported us to an idyllic hillside village, offering a truly unique experience that is quintessentially Como Lake.
Denis N — Google review
The Only Thing Worth Tasting Here Was the Bread. TLDR: Come here if you want to food that looks expensive. Avoid if you want food that tastes good. Below is a breakdown of what I ordered along with pictures and my thoughts on each element of the meal. Amuse-Bouche • Visually striking—I’ll give them that. But the cherries? All show, zero flavor. The “rice cracker with white dollops”? Supposed to be crunchy, but instead, flop and soggy, stale—so not good. And the mushroom concoction? Tasted like mushroom powder—dry, earthy, dirt-like. Definitely not appetizing. Main Courses • Faux Gras Ravioli: Served cold and the pasta was hard—not al dente, just unpleasantly rigid. Flavor? Like vomit, thanks to a bizarre strawberry pairing. • Sturgeon Dish: That gray cylinder looked neat—but tasted overly fishy, not fresh. And that green oil—maybe basil? Way too overpowering, just ruined it. • Red Pepper “Spaghetti” with Peppercorn Ash: Clearly not house-made—boiled-from-a-box quality pasta with acidic red pepper sauce reminiscent of jarred paste. Peppercorn ash? Visually interesting, but overall, just three flavors: red pepper sauce, plain pasta, and ash. Home-cookable in five minutes. • Duck Egg with Green Oil: The duck egg itself was actually decent. But that wasn’t made by the chef - it was thanks to the farmer who raised the duck. The chef strikes again with an intense celery-heavy green oil (basil? coriander?)—the balance was just off. Overpowering celery clashed with everything. Cheese Platter • Four out of five cheeses tasted like they’d gone bad (or maybe they were just too much rind?). The jam pairings? Random and nonsensical. Even if the cheese had actually been good, 30 euros for such a small quantity of cheese was way overpriced even for a “fancy” restaurant like this one tries to be. I didn’t take a picture of this but each piece of cheese was 2 inches by 0.5 inches by 0.5 inches. The Bread • The only redeeming moment: fresh bread studded with basil, tomato, and olives. Flavorful, satisfying, actual craftsmanship. It should have been the center of the menu—honestly. Not sure if it was made at this restaurant, more likely they purchased it from a nearby bakery. Service and Atmosphere • Service: Surprisingly decent. The waiter was actually funny. He was slurring his words and dropping things on the ground while walking around, but still a charming guy. • Atmosphere: Upscale but stuffy—overly dramatic spotlight lighting on food, total Instagram-bait. Tables are too close; you could hear every word from neighbors. Everyone whispered awkwardly. Chairs were not comfortable. They did provide a little hook for my wife’s purse which I thought was thoughtful.
Krish K — Google review
We celebrated our anniversary with a private, intimate lunch here and it was truly unforgettable. The seasonal menu captured the essence of autumn perfectly — each dish layered with earthy flavors that transported us to a cozy campfire and a crisp picnic in the forest. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it feel personal and special from start to finish. Every detail, from presentation to service, was thoughtfully done. We left with full hearts and happy palates. They also took a polaroid photo of us as a memento. Will definitely come again.

Crotto Isidoro is a charming restaurant located in a converted cellar within a cave on the rocky hills above Dongo, offering a rustic ambiance with wooden furniture and stone accents. The panoramic terrace provides stunning views of Lake Como. The menu features flavorful cuisine from the alpine hinterland, including traditional dishes like polenta, local cheese, sausages, and meat. Guests can enjoy set menus that include starters, main dishes, wine, dessert, coffee, and grappa.
Amazing food, huge portions, very kind service and local atmosphere. We took a menu for 29€ per person and we weren’t even able to finish some of it, because we were so full. Blueberry grappa at the end was delicious. I can recommend this place 100%.

Let's start with the epic view. Well that's all there is to say about the view. It's epic. You'll love it. This place serves traditional, basic food. So if you're a vegan this probably won't be for you, everybody else will find something. The service was great and very friendly you feel instantly at home. Food is good, people are nice, views are...epic.

Crotto Isidoro is a pearl with traditional kitchen of northern Italy: polenta (cornmeal like a hot porridge, take Polenta Uncia - it’s amazing!), local unbelievable cheese, salsiccia (sausages), meat. Take set menu for 28.5€ including starters, main dish, wine, dessert, coffee and grappe and enjoy your traditional italian dinner. The restaurant is also a perfect view point. You will enjoy your food watching the best landscape of Como lake in front of you. Inside you can see also their own wine storage. Staff is super nice and helpful. Highly recommend!

Crotto del Sergente is a charming restaurant located in Lake Como, known for its romantic ambiance and delicious cuisine. The stone-walled dining room and vaulted wine cellar provide a unique setting to enjoy homemade pasta, lake fish, and well-thought-out meat dishes. The menu embraces the authentic flavors of the region with a touch of fine dining, offering shareable pastas and desserts.
Found this restaurant on Google map with good reviews while driving back from lake Como, so decided to give it a try… totally amazed and delighted us!!! We were greeted with very friendly and welcoming staff, introducing and explaining to us their menu. The homemade beef tagliatelle was cooked to perfection with tagliatelle infused with the beef flavor and the beef chunks were so tender. The pumpkin dumplings was full of flavour, melt in the mouth! The desert was interesting with many layers of surprises as we dig into it! Not forgetting the place itself is a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle. Highly recommended if you are around there to try it yourself 😁

We were celebrating my partner's birthday and the service took that into account by bringing a little candle on my partner's dessert which was cute. The restaurant is beautiful, loved the peaceful atmosphere. It's a bit up a hill, we took a bus there that was around 5-10 minutes from Como centre and cost 1,5€. Even though some of the foods on the tasting menu weren't my personal favourite, I overall enjoyed the dishes. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

I went on a Monday with a few customers from the US. The ambience is incredibile, the food was spectacular and the service on point. They even accommodated one of our customer that wanted a cappuccino (which is illegal to order in Italy after 11am). For the amount of food and wine that we ordered the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended!!

Grate food and hospitality! From the entrance you see that this is a special place - very beautiful location and nice decor. The food was very nice, and special- Starting from the bread , very tasty veration of breads. The chease plate was good with nice verity of cheeses. The pasta with the fish was salty and spicy and coocked to perfection!! The meat was soft and tasty! I really suggest to try the pasta never tasted something like this The only issue it's hard to get there without a car , probably best to take a taxi

Enoteca Cantina Follie is a top-rated restaurant in Tremezzo, Italy. This cozy wine bar offers a small but delicious food menu and an excellent selection of wines. It's known for its charming outdoor patio and unique interior dining room, making it a great spot to enjoy the Italian version of happy hour, known as aperitivo.
Enoteca’s staff provide the kind of service you would expect at a top-tier winery without the inflated prices. Reasonably priced meat and cheese platters with an exceptional assortment of wines. I forgot who our waiter was but he brought the wine flight to life.

Lots of photos already submitted show the food and wine experience here. Unfortunately, my meat and cheese dish had been started before I could take a photo :o) We had the three wines taster, which were all explained for us. Slight issue here was the size of glass involved was not made clear, perhaps a misunderstanding. It's a shame that the service level dropped in that we were not offered desserts for quite some time after finishing our meat and cheese. Careful if you are seated against the wall as my wife's top was marked. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and seemed to be multi-lingual. Overall, the bar is a place worth a visit.

We were staying down the street and decided to pop in our first night and had a great time!! It seems you need to make reservations if you want to sit outside. But we were totally fine staying downstairs in the cellar. It was so good we went back a second night. The service was great, wine was great and affordable, and the cheese plate was delicious! 10/10 will be back if I ever get the please of visiting Lake Como again.

This place was absolutely incredible! A must-visit if you’re in the area. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. A table with a view of Lake Como became available, and they kindly prepared it for us. The cheese and carpaccio were outstanding — full of flavor and beautifully presented. This bar and the manager truly made our evening unforgettable. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our time at Cantina Follie. It’s tucked up between buildings along the main strip in Tremezzo. My husband and I shared two wine tasting flights - one whites and one reds. We let the server pick which wines went in the tastings and we were very pleased. We also had a mixed cheese board and really enjoyed it. While we were there, we chatted it up with the server (Leo?) and had such a good time, as he is quite funny. We chatted with the owner as well, Joost, which was quite nice. We followed the flights of tastings with a glass of our favorite one each and it was just perfect. We highly recommend stopping in. Delicious and very personalized service.

Osteria del Gallo, located near the Cathedral of Santa Maria in Como, has been run by the di Toma family for 37 years. The cozy restaurant features a rooster motif in its decor and offers traditional Italian cuisine. The owner personally recommends dishes from the daily menu, which typically includes four or five options. Despite the slow-paced kitchen, visitors can enjoy down-home cooking made with fresh local ingredients.
Great quality food in a really nice place with a history. The service was really nice and helpful. You do need to reserve a place before coming because it’s usually booked. We had ravioli and fettuccine with tiramisu.

Greetings fellow travelers. Stop reading this review and come here right away for lunch or dinner. This establishment gets packed out quickly, so arrive early. The menu changes daily. The selection is always inviting. Order your heart's content. You will be surprised how fabulous it is. I tried their house wine, both the red and the white none disappointed, In fact it exceeded my expectations. The cuisine here is local and with local ingredients. Take note of their polenta. It is like nothing you've ever had before outside this area. I had to purchase several packages to take home. They also sell wine and other provisions at this trattoria. When I come back to Como this is the first place I will come to eat. The owner, Paola and her staff treat you with a warm welcome and serve you like your family. Praise is all I have for this trattoria.

I really loved this place! The staff is genuinely sweet, welcoming, and makes you feel right at home. One of the things I appreciated most is that their menu changes daily, which keeps things fresh and exciting. But the best part is — it truly surprises you in the best way possible. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented. It’s one of those places that leaves you with a warm, happy feeling. Totally worth trying — I’d highly recommend it if you’re in the area!

We were blessed to meet the owners and staff of this boutique restaurant. They are such a tight knit family where they even dine together. Don’t miss this gem !!!

A very rustic menu that was a welcome change from the burrata and pomodori you seem to find on every menu. Make a reservation as this place gets packed. Go in and let the owners guide you on what is the best of the day. Highlights for us were the gazpacho and the stuffed focaccia.

pretty local restaurant, we ate the rotisserie chicken (low in salt) 6/10, bolognese pasta (it was very salty) 3/10, and the flourless chocolate with nuts cake (tasted healthy) 4/10. ATMOSPHERE was beautiful either way and the service was very kind

La Vista is a hotel that offers a relaxing retreat with various types of rooms and apartments. It's an ideal place to unwind and savor life at a leisurely pace. The hotel provides gourmet dining experiences with diverse cuisine options, including vegan and vegetarian dishes. The wine cellar is well-stocked with a focus on regional wines, organic options, and craft beers. The service is known for being quick and friendly, making it a great choice for those seeking a pleasant dining experience.
Had a great experience! Good food in an unbeatable atmosphere. I would improve the service though which was lacking for us. It was hard to get our server’s attention. The Ragu was good and so was the ravioli. The lamb chops were super tender and good. Ask of the good was great. You do pay extra for the view. They could get a perfect score with better service although it is still a great restaurant
Pat Z — Google review
If you are staying multiple nights in Varena, then La Vista should be on your list as the view at sunset is unparalleled! Like most nice restaurants in Italy, make sure you have a reservation for dinner no matter what day of the week it is. The service here was slow and they seemed to continually assist other tables over our own. We sat with not even wine or bread for almost 30 minutes. The food was hit or miss for us. The risotto was by far the most tasty dish and all of us enjoyed the main courses; however, the desserts all fell short. The tiramisu was dry in the middle and the crème brûlée had split. All in all, we would still go back for the breathtaking view of Lake Como!
Sarah K — Google review
La Vista delivered an absolutely stunning experience—both on the plate and beyond it. The food was exquisite, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. But what truly elevated the evening were the breathtaking lake views that framed every bite. The ambiance was romantic and serene, perfect for a special night out. Service was attentive without being intrusive, making us feel welcomed and relaxed. If you're in Varenna, this is a must-visit spot for a memorable meal with an amazing view.

We showed up at the perfect time as someone was just leaving and so we were seated within a few minutes for dinner without a reservation. We were seated right by the window and enjoyed a beautiful view for a few minutes while the sun set. I got the risotto special which was perfectly cooked and incredible flavor. My husband got the mushroom ravioli which he really liked. I also got the dessert special of the day which was caramelized peaches with a cream and crumble and it was amazing!! My husband got the chocolate mousse which he said was so chocolatey and paired perfectly with the raspberry sauce they give you.

After a challenging journey to Italy, dinner at La Vista Ristorante was exactly what we needed — a perfect evening that made all the travel troubles worthwhile. The restaurant’s renowned sunset views over the mountains live up to their reputation. The lighting creates a magical atmosphere, and the peaceful lakeside setting is truly breathtaking. Beyond the spectacular views, the food is outstanding. Standout dishes included the cod ravioli with yogurt wasabi, the salmon confit, and the chocolate mousse — each expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The service was exceptional. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our meal, and they graciously accommodated our request to modify our reservation when we were delayed getting into town. I highly recommend La Vista Ristorante for anyone visiting Lake Como. It’s an essential dining experience that perfectly complements a weekend on the lake.

Lovely restaurant with very lovely and accommodating staff! We arrived upon opening time with no reservation and they were so lovely to fit us in. I don’t eat much so my husband and I usually order a meal to share and they so graciously split the meal onto two plates which has never happened to us before! Was our first stop in Como: very nice quite location right near the lake Food is amazing, service is amazing too. We said that we want to share and they brought all dishes in different place for us. We tried steak, ravioli with lemon, shrimps and deserts - all was delicious, recommend. And also nice thing - how we got here. We stopped car at the Main Street and then one guy on bike was guiding us through tiny streets

One of my favorite spots on earth. Cannot recommend enough. Get the lemon ravioli! Non-negotiable. Then enjoy the trout and any of the other wonderful dishes but get the ravioli. The sample dessert is perfect as well. A taste of so many goodies. Wonderful view, perfect atmosphere, impeccable service, and the ravioli. Oh my goodness. Until we meet again…

Bucket‑list checked, five‑star magic. Seated lakeside in a gentle, warm rain, every moment felt cinematic. We savored impeccable sea bass in citrus‑kissed sauce, melt‑in‑your‑mouth lamb chops with mint, and the refreshing, subtle presence of gin. The service was attentive yet relaxed, letting us linger over each exquisite dish. Words fail me. I’ve never experienced something so harmonious, so lovingly crafted. This isn’t just dining; it’s an emotion. Thank you for an evening that transformed a birthday into a memory for the ages.

La Colombetta is a renowned restaurant located in the heart of Como, offering traditional Italian cuisine served in an old-world venue with wood accents. The restaurant is split into five dining areas, providing plenty of candlelit corners for couples to enjoy intimate moments while taking in the beautiful lake views. Established over 25 years ago and run by three delightful sisters, Mariana, Silvana, and Lina Peddoni, La Colombetta is frequented by celebrities like George Clooney and Mick Jagger.
Truly the best restaurant in Como. Such a lovely experience from start to finish. First the Beautiful art on the walls. Service was exceptional. The food was exquisite. Best pasta we have had and the most wonderful fish. Don't waste time at Gato nerro, eat here for real food and experience, you will not be disappointed!! If this were not our last night in lake como, we would come back to eat tomorrow 😋
Everett U — Google review
The atmosphere was great… old house with a bit modern feel… The restaurant decor and design is beautiful. Very impressive. But stiff. The food was well cooked but a bit boring… and a bit overpriced (€40) for what we received… we ordered two different types of fish, they came with just fish filets, some chunks of potatoes, some olives with stones inside… The food was colorless. Tasted great. But you eat with your eyes first. Very little garnish and no color coordination on the plate. One really bad notice. The olives used on both courses had stones in them. That’s a big NO NO. The appetizer we ordered (Red Prawns) was fine but a bit overpriced as well (€40) for only a few prawns with asparagus…. There was a copero charge of €10 per person, most restaurants we have been to in Milan were about €3-5…. But that’s not the deal breaker because they offered us free bread and sparkling wine to start.. We planned to order and share two appetizers but we ended up ordering just one for the birthday boy.. Because they want to charge a minimum of 20% for any shared dishes.. we don’t even know what it means for“a minimum”… Would they charge 50% or 100% depending on what? We don’t know and we don’t want to know… We’ve traveled to different parts of the world and this was the first time we saw that… We always like to order 2-3 appetizers to share and taste different local cuisines… And at the end, we would also like to share a dessert…NOT EVERYBODY LIKES TO FINSIH ONE BIG DESSERT BY THEMSELVES… sweets are fat….sharing a dessert is enjoyable and very common.. Some pros of the restaurant cannot be denied: the staff were very friendly and polite… they greeted us, took our coats and saw us off at the end…

If you’re in Como and want the real Italian experience, this restaurant is an absolute must. Hands down, it was the best food I had in all of Italy and that’s saying a lot! Every bite was full of flavor, tradition, and love. You can feel that the recipes have been passed down through generations, and every dish is made with care. What makes it even more special is that it’s owned and run by a local Italian family, and their warmth truly makes the entire experience unforgettable. The service was amazing so kind, attentive, and welcoming. You don’t just feel like a customer; you feel like a guest in their home. From the moment you sit down, to the last spoon of dessert or sip of wine, you’re wrapped in authentic Italian hospitality. It’s not just a meal it’s a memory. This is the kind of place you’ll dream about going back to. If you’re looking for that “nonna is cooking in the kitchen” type of experience with heartfelt service and unforgettable food this is it. If I could give it more stars I would give it infinity, this place deserves the world.

Absolutely lovely experience at Ristorante La Colombetta! We had a variety of delicious fish dishes paired with great wine. The ambiance is charming, and the sisters running the place are warm and wonderfully entertaining. Highly recommend!
David W — Google review
I dine out frequently and I have to say this was one of the finest culinary experiences I can remember. La Colombetta was an absolute smash hit from the minute we arrived, it’s located in what was once a 13th century church, but completely renovated with a modern chic vibe, all that remains of the church is some of the original ceiling graphics which remain visible. This is family owned and operated, run by three sisters and their brother, also on hand were identical twin daughters, who provided service with 5 star excellence. We were warmly greeted by one of the sisters and provided with a complimentary glass of prosecco and some very tasty thin pita chips with a drizzle of evoo. Followed by their house red wine that was fantastic. We literally wanted to order everything on the menu, but we went with some favorites. Started with the Buratta served with sweet cherry tomatoes, evoo and a balsamic glaze drizzle, very artistically presented, it was excellent, cheese was rich and creamy. For our next course we went with pasta (of course) Tagliolini with Lobster for two, and the Spinach Ravioli with Tomato Sauce and Basil, both were excellent. Then on to the Grilled Lamb chops, again excellent. As much as we wanted to order more, we were stuffed and wanted to leave room for the homemade desserts. We ordered the Crème Brûlée and Lemon & Mandarin Sorbet. I inquired what was taking a few minutes, I was told it’s not ready, we’re making it fresh. This was by far the absolute best Crème Brûlée I had ever had, right out of the oven, even the plate was still hot. Same for the Lemon Sorbet, best I’ve ever had. Everything here is freshly homemade to order. Best restaurant in Como, possibly all of Italy, if you’re there, this is a must! Dining here is like dining with your family, they make you feel right at home. You never know who you might see here, every celebrity that visited Como has dined here, I’m told it’s Clooneys favorite restaurant, De Niro, Sandler, Jagger and many others dine here. When I shared my enthusiasm over the meal, I was invited into the kitchen to meet the rest of the family, this may be the cleanest kitchen I’ve ever seen. Reservations strongly recommended. Please note, as this is an intimate spot, I limited my interior pics as not to disturb or invade the other guests. It really is very beautiful.

From the moment my wife and I stepped into Ristorante La Columbetta, we were swept into an unforgettable dining experience that stands as the finest we’ve ever had. The evening began with the festive pop of a complimentary prosecco, setting a warm, celebratory tone. The staff’s attentive, yet unobtrusive, service made us feel like honored guests, with every need anticipated and met with genuine warmth. Each dish was a masterpiece—bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and crafted with evident care. What truly astonished us was the bill, which felt remarkably reasonable for such an extraordinary experience. The owners have created a gem that delivers not just a meal, but a memory to cherish. Do yourself a favor and book a table—you won’t be disappointed.

The young chef Andrea Casali curates two tasting menus, Green and L'Italia secondo noi, as well as an à la carte menu featuring surf and turf options such as red prawn crudo, duck breast, and spaghetti with saffron and raw scallops.

Lunch at Kitchen, the Michelin-starred restaurant at Sheraton Lake Como, is an elegant journey through contemporary Italian cuisine, elevated by tranquil outdoor seating beneath vibrant red umbrellas and lush trees. The surroundings set a tone of refined relaxation, offering an immersive connection to the garden and alpine scenery. From the start, the experience feels special. The amuse-bouches, presented with modern ceramics, engage both sight and taste—each bite is artfully composed and bursts with fresh, local flavors. Dishes reveal meticulous attention to detail: vibrant tomatoes, edible flowers, and perfect quenelles reflect Kitchen’s commitment to seasonality and biodynamic produce. It was reasonably priced for lunch and managed to get a last minute table without reservations.

What an extraordinary experience in a kaleidoscope of flavors. We recommend these chefs tasting menu paired with the regions wines.
Dan D — Google review
As an Italian with experience in Michelin stars restaurants, I would say Kitchen is an overpriced average Michelin star one that focuses on cashing in from tourists. The location is great as well as the atmosphere, the staff is very nice and welcoming, but it’s definitely overpriced. We’ve been welcomed with a caviar menu without any explanation, just a mere list of caviars with high prices. I did not like it at all. Then we got a “welcome” champagne with very little explanation of what it could have been paired with and why. We realized only once we had to pay that it was not a “welcome” champagne (i.e. on the house) but we had to pay for it (30€ a glass). This was not clear at all and I felt tricked. For the experience + menu with wine pairing I personally believe the choice of wines was based on price rather than pairing, the explanation was always “very fresh, the wine is very fresh” and it came always before the dish. The sommelier never explained the relationship wine-dish and why it was a perfect pairing, but always said “it’s a very fresh wine and it combines perfectly with the next dish”. This repeated for 7 dishes. Overall it was an ok experience, but for 300€ each I am expecting a superb one.

Sublime. On point in every way. Impeccable service, servers were beautifully timed, elegant and highly professional. I ordered the 5 course vegetarian option, my wife had the same with meat option. We shared each dish. Top notch across the board. Had a lovely regional red to top it off. Excellent value. Run don’t walk to this Como gem near the Sheraton Hotel. Highly recommend!

Possibly the best flavor combinations I’ve ever tasted in my life. This place definitely did not disappoint. I had the Experience tasting menu and was pleasantly surprised at the various combinations. I can’t pick one favorite as they were all delightful. The restaurant itself isn’t as picturesque as some of the other restaurants across the Lake, but the food makes up for it. I also added on the wine pairing, which was extremely reasonably priced. The wines come from smaller local and regional vineyards across Italy and France.
Justin K — Google review
We had a wonderful experience here. To be honest the prices are on the higher side and the portions on the lower in compare with other Michelin star restaurants we visited but the creations were (more) outstanding. Wine pairing was done properly and the wines you get are in the top ranges. And all of that in a nice, peaceful green setting. Although we had the bad luck of being the only one to eat inside. No more free tables outside unless our reservation was from months ago. The service was absolutely on star level. Decent explaining of the wines and dishes. Very polite but not stiff. Our compliments to the team. We enjoyed the dessert and ravioli the most.

Located at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo in the picturesque lakeside town of Tremezzina, Ristorante La Terrazza Gualtiero Marchesi pays homage to the late renowned chef Gualtiero Marchesi. Known as the "founder of modern Italian cuisine," Marchesi's legacy is honored through an exceptional dining experience at this top-tier restaurant.
Wonderful culinary experience, we tried several plates from the tasting menu. Service was great and attentive to details, the location is wonderful with a view on the lake, the food was yummy from starter till dessert. Denny and Jogo are super friendly.

Views are great, especially if you’re seated closest to the windows overlooking the lake. Service was so slow and food was not worth it. Food lacked flavor. Our steak was supposed to be crusted but ended up with a green veggie mush on top. We were recommended this place by our hotel concierge and was highly disappointed.
Nikita G — Google review
Big expectations, big disappointment! Beautiful views and exquisite food, but we were disappointed with the service overall. This was supposed to be a memorable night celebrating our 17th anniversary, but it turned out not special because of the poor and snobby service. The hostes couldn’t find our reservation and had an attitude about it, like if we were lying. Not friendly, not welcoming at all! The sommelier didn’t offer any suggestions on wine and when we told him what we had chosen he was very rude grabbing the menu from my husband’s hand and just walking away like if we had offended him. He apologized later after we complained he gave us a glass of champagne, but still with the same bad attitude, not sincere. Our waiter Diogo was very nice and attentive, I think the manager should hire him to train others. I would say the whole experience felt too touristy and not personal. I would go back for drinks at the hotel bar with the same views, not to La Terazza. The hotel is beautiful with the most beautiful gardens!

This was my first time dining at La Terrazza Gualtiero Marchesi at the Tremezzo 5 star hotel by Lake Como. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is beautifully and luxuriously decorated, and the restaurant itself is equally impressive in terms of layout and design, making you feel special from the very first step (congratulations for the candles at the entrance). We were 4 and ordered the 5-course tasting menu, and every dish was excellent, especially: • Astice alla crema di peperoni (1978) The lobster was perfectly sweet and tender, paired with a smooth sweet pepper sauce. The flavors were perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. • Riso, oro e zafferano (1981) The staff explained the story behind this dish wonderfully, helping me appreciate its uniqueness. The saffron risotto with gold flakes was delicate, and every bite was a true feast for both the eyes and the palate. The other courses were equally delightful, the seabass more than the veal. In addition to the food, I also had the opportunity to visit the kitchen, which was spectacular and very clean. The executive chef greeted me warmly, making me feel welcomed and giving insight into the professional kitchen management. Other highlights: • Some staff were cheerful, friendly, and provided excellent guidance about the dishes and wine pairings, making the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. • The plating and wine pairings were well thought out, enhancing the flavors of the dishes. Areas for improvement: • Some team members seemed unenthusiastic, which slightly affected the overall dining experience. • The bread served was somewhat stale, as if it had been stored for a while, and lacked freshness. - The dessert, Millefoglie, was good to see but really nothing special, not the grand final that you expect from such a unique (and expensive!) restaurant! Overall, this was a highly impressive experience in terms of food, decor, and atmosphere, though there are many points that in my opinion should be improved, to fully satisfy the expectations of a particularly attentive client, like my husband and I.

The views and ambiance are absolutely dreamy but what lacked was the food + service. The food lacked flavor - it felt like something was almost forgotten in the dishes we had. And the service was slow and felt disinterested in helping ensure our experience was pleasant. It also felt like the staff was annoyed we did not order the tasting menu. The sommelier also seemed annoyed we did not order a bottle and instead ordered a 40 EUR glass of wine (each) - lol. Also did not give any explanation of the wine we were drinking, the vineyard etc. For the price you pay to dine here, do not recommend it. On Instagram: @lexandthecity____ (4 underscores)

Nice atmosphere and views for dinner, but otherwise the whole experience is outdated and gimmicky - like fine dining in the 90s. The food itself was not remarkable, very hit or miss. Not entirely bad but we expected more given Gualtiero Marchesi’s legendary reputation. Several dishes were bland and lacked any depth of flavour, and some served lukewarm. If this were in any other location than Grand Hotel Tremezzo, there would be no appeal. Go for the setting more than the food, and only if you can get a table on the edge.

We visited this place this summer and left quite disappointed. It had been highly recommended, so my expectations were very high. Unfortunately, the only friendly person we encountered was the hostess – and that was it. It took a very long time before a waiter came to our table, and when I mentioned that I was hungry and asked if I could finally get a menu, the head waiter replied that he was very hungry too and walked away. Such a “joke” was absolutely inappropriate for a restaurant of this level. The service overall was unpleasant, and it felt like we were being treated differently compared to other tables. With the tables where ladies were accompanied by men, the staff seemed warm and welcoming, but with my friend and me the attitude was completely different. The food itself was not particularly tasty, and I didn’t enjoy it. My mood had already been spoiled by the poor hospitality. Of course, the atmosphere and the views were beautiful – that was the only thing that saved the evening. It would be wonderful if the staff could treat all guests with the same friendliness and smiles, whether they spend €1,000 or €250.

First an foremost, a big thank you for accommodating us in the room, because my wife was ill and not in anyways able to get ready for a nice restaurant like this. We had every course delivered to our room in outstanding quality; the caviar spaghetti are a most as well as the lobster macaroni. The two filets (veal and beef) were good as well. The tiramisu was great: not to sweet but full of flavour. As a wine enthusiast I also appreciate the wines by the glass (as I was the only drinker), with lynch moussas 2010 and a lovely puligny montrachet i didnt miss out on anything!

Italian restaurant
Crotto Valdurino is a charming and traditional restaurant located in Moltrasio, offering a truly authentic experience of the local cuisine. The name "crotto" refers to a cave, as the tavern is partially built inside one. Dating back to 1882, this family-run establishment exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of dining at grandma's house. With its picturesque terrace overlooking Lake Como towards Torno, guests can savor typical dishes from the region while enjoying breathtaking views.
I was lucky to stumble upon this hidden gem—a family-run treasure nestled in the hills of Cernobbio—not long after I moved here. Words can hardly do justice to an experience of dining on the terrace in summer months, basking in the sunlight, with the awe-inspiring views of Lake Como as your backdrop. Pair that with a Negroni and an array of local fish dishes (think marinated smoked perch, risotto, and perfectly grilled fish), and you’re in for something truly special. In the colder months, the cozy table by the fireplace sets the scene for a different kind of magic. After a meal of exquisite meats—braised beef, homemade pasta, or roasted veal with polenta—a café corretto with grappa is the perfect way to end the evening. I absolutely love this place. It’s as authentic and local as it gets, yet the culinary delights are anything but simple. Don’t just take my word for it—skip the center of Como, take a quick 7-minute drive, and see for yourself.

A very nice quiet restaurant to enjoy your meal in lake Como. The atmosphere is absolutely stunning and delight, no doubt about that. The food is good but not great imo. The veal is very nice to try, the fish is good, the cake is bit too hard but the taste is good. Overall if you gonna go here for the atmosphere and the experience it is a good choice.

Amazing!! It is situated in a quiet area of lake como and has views of the lake from the tables outside. The food is the best authentic Italian food I have had. Felt nothing but home made and was soulful food. Definitely a must try restaurant.

Superb service - thank you for looking after us today Amazing food. Thank you for reminding me of great Italian dishes I used to eat as a child. The quality of the ingredients is the best you can get locally! What a view! The lake never lets you down. I recommend Casseouela… traditional Milanese dish… it comes with polenta (artisanal) … And if you’re a true foodie you got to try Tripoa con fagioli. I wished I had more room to try the lake fish….

Nestled in the picturesque commune of Torno, Il Sereno Al Lago Restaurant offers a luxurious dining experience with stunning views of Lake Como. The modern interior and outdoor terrace provide an elegant setting to savor contemporary Italian cuisine, showcasing locally sourced ingredients such as freshly caught fish from the lake and wine from the nearby Valtellina mountains.
I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. From the food to the service, the entire experience was impeccable. The property is also stunning. We came for dinner and then lunch the next day. Already dreaming of coming back next year. I scrolled down to read some of the bad reviews and many of them seem to be out of pure snobbery. While I think there are tiny hints of truth to some of them, this place does not deserve a bad review by any means.

The atmosphere, cuisine and especially the service were all magnificent! The staff are trained well and very kind. We had drinks also at the bar before and from beginning with the valet parking to the end was a wonderful experience.

Every visit to Il Sereno Al Lago feels like coming home to a very special place. The view over Lake Como is pure magic, but what truly makes it unforgettable is the atmosphere — elegant yet relaxed, where you can feel the passion behind every detail. The team greets you with genuine warmth, the service is flawless without ever feeling formal, and the food… simply outstanding. Each dish is a work of art, both in flavor and presentation. A place I will always return to, with a full heart and a happy palate.

Superb experience at this amazing restaurant. The service was impeccable and the food was scrumptious, inventive, and sophisticated. Special shoutout to the fantastic sommelier, who was highly knowledgeable and served us some truly amazing northern Italian vintages. We were staying at the hotel (which we can’t recommend enough btw, truly incredible) and decided to eat at the restaurant one evening. The position of the restaurant is under the hotel with lovely arches which give great views of the lake. Unfortunately that’s the best thing about the experience. We sat and waited, then given some water and waited. We asked for a drinks menu but it took ages to come (we had a glass of wine 35 minutes after sitting down), they tried taking our food order before we had even ordered a drink, which we found a bit odd. We ordered the vegetarian tasting menu which sounded good. The courses came out and we were given a nice explanation about what each dish was. Unfortunately the food was just very average, with the exception of the tomato desert (which would have been a great starter) and the selection of deserts. We found the spaghetti too salty, and then shocked that the dish after was just a spoon of the same salty sauce. In total we had bread at 3 different points of the night throughout the menu. The staff, while polite, did not make anything particularly special about the evening, no real engagement. The tables looked the same as what you have during breakfast, perhaps it would be nicer to add a table cloth over them for the evening. Would not recommend and have no idea how this got a Michelin star.
Matt R — Google review
The ambiance and service is absolutely excellent. The employees were definitely very caring and kind. However, the taste of the food was pretty standard. Even our plates were not served very hot. However, the plate presentations were quite elegant. It was a pleasant experience by the lake, but not a restaurant we would choose to eat again. Again, we would like to thank everyone🙏🏾

Ristorante La Punta is a charming restaurant located at the northernmost point of Bellagio, offering a scenic 10-minute walk from the town center and stunning views of Varenna and Tremezzo. The menu focuses on freshwater fish, featuring dishes like antipasto di lago and pate di pesce as excellent starters, while the baked lasagna and gnocchi with cream and Gorgonzola sauce receive high praise among the main courses.
Food was great and service was amazing! Glad I brought my family there during our quick stop at Bellagio. We ordered the beef fillet, spaghetti with tomato sauce, fish with rice, and I forgot the name of the salad. I had a local white wine they offered and my folks got the local rose. Very refreshing for a summer lunch drink, and the place is very spacious and bright. Staff were very friendly and helpful, too. So accommodating. 10/10 would come back again! :)

Nice ambience with the view of lake Como.service was very good. I have Rice with small fried fish, with butter and sage. It was beautifully plated. Rice is perfect. Although there were only few pieces of fish, it was delicious. We also order 1/2 bottle of chianti. My friend ordered ravioli and soup. A little pricey restaurant but its worth it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A must-visit in Bellagio! Ristorante La Punta offers not only incredible views of Lake Como, but also a truly unforgettable dining experience. The setting is absolutely magical — perched right at the tip of Bellagio, surrounded by water and mountains. The food was outstanding. We had homemade pasta, and a perfectly paired bottle of local wine. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The service was warm, attentive, and professional — the staff made us feel truly welcome. Whether you’re coming for a romantic dinner, a family lunch, or just to enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine, this place is simply perfect. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be back!

For the atmosphere alone, this is a worth while stop. The food was decent and the service was decent, however, the views from the lake are absolutely spectacular and truly deserve at least to stop for lunch. The menu was much less authentic than some other places in town and catered more to the tourism however, it was still a lovely meal with an even lovely view.

The food is okay, the charge is 4 Euros per person, water is 5 Euros per bottle. If you’re coming for the view only, can consider taking away food and chilling in the same area with some benches. Or just walking here to see the view only. Ordered the lasagne, Tiramisu and Pasta

I have this restaurant on my list. Could not book for dinner to enjoy the sunset so we booked for lunch. The booking process and our arrival was all well. For the food it was ok but in general below expectations in some dishes especially the local lake fish plate and some others are just ok. Maybe our expectations were high regarding the food which was not met to full satisfaction. The view is fantastic and service is ok. I was surprised for such restaurant to offer us discount of 10% if we pay in cash ?!

Trattoria San Giacomo is a quintessential Italian restaurant located in Bellagio, offering a wide selection of local dishes in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Whether you choose to dine indoors with its charming wood-beamed ceiling or outdoors, you can savor classic Italian cuisine paired with Tuscan wines. The trattoria is renowned for its delicious pasta dishes, including fettuccine with meat ragu and beef stew with polenta.
We stumbled on this place in Bellagio for lunch and realized shortly thereafter that it’s pretty high in demand and they don’t take reservations. I think we were an exception to most people having to wait a long time, as we sat after about 10 minutes. It was the best food we ate in northern Italy during our 8 day stay. The ravioli were excellent and the pasta special was also fantastic. We were recommended to order the tiramisu by someone who was finishing their meal and it absolutely did not disappoint.
Sydney F — Google review
Waited 2 hours for our table because sadly they only take walk in and you’ll need to sit by the steps in case your name is being called. Staff were all pretty rude at the start (maybe because they’re busy). But they became friendlier once you’re seated inside. Saw a lot of mixed reviews before coming here, and I have to say the negative reviews were right about the bland food and not worth the wait…. I have no idea why is their pasta so bland especially when it’s their signature. They have great wine list though! The salad was quite alright too… but no not the pastas unfortunately ☹
Xiao Q — Google review
We waited in line 45 minutes before they opened as you have to or you won’t get a spot, no reservations accepted. They have cushions you can crab and sit on the steps. Inside they play older American music loudly. Wish they had Italian music, would make for a better ambiance. After we were seated inside a little after 7pm it took 15 minutes to take our drink orders then another 15-20 minutes to get our water and coke delivered. We ordered the salad and soup of the day which were fine after we doused them with salt. We ordered the Osso Buco di Vitelo and the Tagliolini with meat sauce. Both were very bland and had no taste, had to douse them with salt. The beef shank was soft and tasted good after seasoning. The pasta was below average even after seasoning, barely any sauce or meat. Over all disappointed with the experience-this is a very hyped up place and not worth the hoops you have to jump through and time to get in here. We hoped for a better experience, but will not be coming back.
Sarah S — Google review
First off.. the caprese salad was the worst we have ever had. The buffalo mozzarella was hard and old and the tomatoes were not ripe. Not a great start. I have to say the burger wasn't that bad for Italy. The grilled fish was pretty good too. Missing on the caprese gets the three stars. They also messed up our order and brought my wife the wrong dish.
Pete H — Google review
Trattoria San Giacomo is the place you find yourself at after you’ve failed to make dinner reservations elsewhere. The wait isn’t too bad. You are in the prettiest part of Bellagio and they offer pillows that you can sit down on as you wait on the stairs. They try their best to accommodate everyone and the staff is very communicative about timing. The food is not great. Perhaps some dishes are good, but overall not great. I decided to keep it simple—I ordered the pasta dish of the day which was a mushroom pasta and the fresh ricotta and spinach ravioli in sage and butter sauce. The pasta dish with mushrooms was so bad that I had them replace it, which they were kind enough to do with no charge. The mushrooms were boiled, tasteless and soggy. The pasta was served with the boiling water it came with, or that’s what I’m assuming as it was clear and bland. The ricotta ravioli on the other hand was good. Good, but not great. This is definitely a restaurant catered to tourists, which is fine. You’re just not going to have a fantastic meal here.
KJ J — Google review
We arrived early to secure a spot at this popular trattoria, joining several other diners already waiting on the restaurant’s steps (complete with thoughtfully provided cushions). Many guests, ourselves included, grabbed wine from across the street to enjoy while waiting, a pleasant way to pass the time. The wait proved absolutely worthwhile. We were lucky enough to snag an outdoor table beside the charming stone steps on a perfect evening. The couple seated next to us had dined here the previous night and returned immediately, a telling endorsement we soon understood. The osso buco was exceptional: incredibly tender and flavorful. Even my wife, who typically avoids veal, thoroughly enjoyed it. The fettuccine with meat sauce was equally impressive, with both pasta and sauce clearly made fresh in-house. Our service throughout the evening was outstanding. Arrive early, as this restaurant fills up incredibly fast. They operate limited evening hours and we watched them turn away disappointed diners later in the night. If you don’t make it into the first seating, expect at least an hour-long wait. However, the exceptional food and atmosphere make any wait worthwhile, we would have absolutely returned if we’d had another evening in Bellagio. This is destination dining that justifies the crowds and the wait time.

Pleasant experience at Trattoria San Giacomo in Bellagio. We had a salad with parmesan, rocket, and tomatoes, grilled fish of the day, homemade fettuccine with tomato sauce, and risotto with filet of perch. Everything was delicious and the service was great.
Clemente P — Google review
Unfortunately, our experience here was quite underwhelming. The service staff were rather rude and the loud American rock music felt out of place in what was meant to be a quaint Italian restaurant. The real disappointment, however, was the food. Our meals took an unusually long time to arrive while guests who came after us were already enjoying their mains while we were still waiting for our appetizers. When I politely asked the waiter about our order, his curt reply “it takes time to cook”, came across as unnecessarily rude. When the food finally arrived, it didn’t live up to expectations. The soup was bland and needed plenty of salt, and my dish of boiled rice with breaded fish consisted of a mount of plain rice topped with just four small pieces of fried fish, something more fitting for a cafeteria than a restaurant in Bellagio. My friend’s pork ribs with polenta were equally disappointing, the meat was so tough it couldn’t be cut easily, let alone fall off the bone. After two wonderful weeks of dining across Italy, this was unfortunately the worst meal of our trip. A real shame, as we were hoping for a memorable lunch on our only day in Bellagio. Sadly, we wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

I had the steak with truffle mushrooms - cooked medium, but it turned out a bit dry. Just okay. I’d rate it 6,5/10. My wife had the beef cheeks - lots of fat, not really enjoyable. 6/10. They charge for service, bread, and water (and the waiter’s smile felt like something from the 15th century crooked teeth and cavities included). That didn’t help the atmosphere. The view is truly stunning, no doubt. But with a small starter, a bottle of cheaper wine, two dishes and bread - I would’ve been happy to pay around 70€, not 113€. At that price, you start expecting fine dining, not average food. Final verdict: 3/5. Beautiful view, average food. Not quite worth it.

The atmosphere was rigid right from the start. We were taken to the terrace, which was completely empty, and placed in a corner. The waiters’ attitude was indifferent and rather phlegmatic. We had already had dinner at another restaurant, as we wanted to try as many places as possible during our two days here. So we only ordered dessert, which was good, but nothing extraordinary. When making the reservation, I specifically asked to sit downstairs on the terrace, which was half empty at the time, but this request was denied. All in all: • Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ • Staff attitude: ⭐ • Table/location: ⭐ • Value for money: ⭐ This brings the overall experience to 2 stars. NB: There are plenty of places in the area with a much nicer view, equally good (or even better) food, fair prices, and warm service. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

We stumbled upon this restaurant as we were driving along Lake Como. We only had a couple of appetizers and a small bottle of wine because the kitchen was going to be closing for them to get ready for dinner, so we didn't have a larger entre. However, the appetizers and the dessert we had, were absolutely delicious and we wish we could have ordered a full meal. If you have a chance to dine here, take the opportunity to do so. You won't be disappointed.

Took my parents and my girlfriend for a lovely dusk dinner. Cant fault the views: it’s nestled in a little depression beside the Via Statale, totally on its own there, has its own pier (we chose to take a boat to the restaurant), as do most other guests, and has broad views looking north up Como. Pretty staggering. The service (Marko) was exceptional - thoughtful, friendly and attentive without being overbearing (and just enough flirting with my mum…). The food was good, local, game and lake-fish heavy - but the only area they fell at all short. My mushroom tart was pretty soft and squishy (technical terms), and the tagliata di manzo was a little tough. The pasta (we had the crab ragú and duck papardelle) was absolutely delicious, however.

We sat by the water on the terrace and ordered the white fish tartare, fois gras, porcini baked potato with cheese fondue for starters. For the main course, we had the balsamic glazed fish and ravioli. For dessert, the crème brûlée, blackcurrant cheesecake and apple crumble. The food was exquisite and the view of the lake and mountains felt like a perfect escape. The waiters were knowledgeable and helpful. I recommend this place. Thank you!

Polentoteca Chalet Gabriele offers a unique dining experience in a wood-lined space overlooking Lake Como. Located in the hamlet of Piano Rancio, this mountain hut serves up traditional Alpine specialties, with polenta as the star dish. Guests can partake in the Toc ritual, where a communal cauldron of cornmeal mush polenta is served with missoltini lake shads, homegrown hens, and salami for an authentic peasant food experience.
The history of the place stands out with the ancient mountain decor. Despite being busy the place is family run and has a homely feel with an extensive menu with warm mountain food to suit the hospitality. There is an open terrace upstairs for people to sit for a cold beer in the sun or a warm downstairs dining area with fantastic service. The rooms are cosy and have one of the most beautiful views from their balconies. Worth every cent. Easy access to Lecco down beautiful winding roads.

Fantastic experience and authentic north Italian cuisine. Great service and food came out fast. They were extremely attentive to a nut allergy and made sure to accommodate us. If you have a car in Bellagio it would be a shame if you didn’t stop in here. We went in at opening without a reservation and had no trouble getting a table for 4. We ordered polenta with mushrooms, polenta with braised beef, gnocchi with a pork cream sauce and a gnocchi with butter and sage all of which tasted exceptional and distinct. Enjoyed our dinner here! Food was great and service was outstanding! Great selection of wine as well. The more extensive menu for dinner that you see on other reviews is no longer offered which we weren’t aware of until we arrived.

The service was great and the food awesome. Had the specials: Amberjack tartare, black truffle pasta, and fried pork chop. All very good. Ordered a second order of pasta shamelessly. Did the tiramisu and wine takeaway. Our server Giovanni was amazing. Gave us some historical information around the area. And the location is perfect next to the gardens and water.

After a walk through Villa Melzi, we came across this restaurant for lunch. The service was outstanding, since we wanted to share a main dish, they thoughtfully split it onto two plates. We ordered the veal with tuna sauce, steak tartare with burrata, and pomodoro pasta. Everything was delicious and made with high-quality ingredients. Our favorite was the steak tartare, the combination with the burrata was perfect.

We had our first lunch in Bellagio at Darsene di Loppia. We enjoyed a warm welcome; they took care of our luggage upon arrival and let us choose the table we wanted (we took one with a lovely view of the street and the lake). The service has been excellent. We had several waiters who made sure we had everything we needed, and they were all very smiling and sympathetic. The food was great; we shared an octopus as the starter and took the fish (a perfectly cooked hake) and the lamb (that tasted wonderful) as main courses. We succumbed to a delicious tiramisu for the desert. Everything went very well, and we're looking forward to coming visit again :)

The comments about the owner are fair, although she is very professional and nice at times. The reason I stayed after an initial incident was because of the extremely professional older gentleman waiting our table. And we came back for the food as well as his service. Food is very fresh, I recommend the off-menu items as well as the cheese selection.

We had a really wonderful afternoon enjoying our meal and sipping our wine. The staff really looked after us and were extremely attentive. The food was exceptional and the restaurant is away from the very busy Bellagio centre which meant we had a very chilled experience. Would highly recommend!

Ristorante Rifugio Martina is a charming mountainside locale above Lezzeno, offering stunning views of Lake Como. This veteran restaurant has been a favorite among locals for almost a century, serving up an array of polenta dishes that are sure to satisfy any appetite. Located just an hour away from the summit of Monte San Primo, it's the perfect spot to relax and refuel during a trek.
Incredible! Way way way off the beaten path, there is really no experience quite this immersive when it comes to Lombardian cuisine. I’m convinced that the Refugio is actually a Nonna’s house, and all of the shockingly simple yet perfectly satisfying polenta meals are from her and her family. The variety of polenta with astonishingly fresh meat is the perfect comfort food after a long cool day on the lake. I imagine in autumn and in winter this place even exceeds this glowing review with its picture backdrop of the southern Alps and a clear shot of the entire North Lake. Unbelievable and one of a kind; I cannot wait to go back!

Ristorante Refugio Martina is definitely one of the most unique places I have ever been to (in a good way)! The walk is definitely the hardest part, as you are prompted to walk 1 kilometer uphill, no easy task even if you pride in your stamina. However, the food is amazing! This place is known for its delicious polenta options, and we really enjoyed having this classic Italian dish. The service is amazing and they’re very nice and friendly. We were surrounded by locals all who were also welcoming. Finally, the view is simply stunning! We got to watch the sunset and it felt that the hike was really worth it! Overall, if you are able to make the difficult hike, you should definitely come here! Also for any disabled/aged people, they do provide a service to take you up there, but I personally don’t know how.
Sreyash H — Google review
The view is truly breathtaking and definitely the highlight of the place. The venue itself is fairly average, with no particularly distinctive features. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of vegan options—there were only a couple of vegetarian dishes on the whole menu, and nothing for vegans. Also, the Sunday crowd was quite large, making the atmosphere rather chaotic.

Very nice place with typical foods and stunning view of Como lake. It is a must stop when you are climbing to Monte San Primo. Service very fast, friendly staff. Strongly suggest to book a table, especially during the summer season and weekends! For the trekking lovers: this place is located 1H far from Monte San Primo top.

We went to celebrate a birthday. The place is so beautiful and the panaorama is amazing. Unfortunately the food is not the best we were expecting. It’s ok but in that kind of places you really expect something more. Thay are very strict about the timing, we eat in about one hour so obviously the food is already precooked and it came to table not very warm.

Super nice people and great Polenta! The view is also great and it is a nice stop on the way. We noticed only one woman talked English so you may need to wait a bit longer (not a big deal at all)

Il Cavatappi is a charming trattoria located in an alley near the main square of Varenna, Lombardy. The restaurant offers a variety of European, Italian, and Mediterranean dishes including pasta, seafood, and vegetarian options. With its modest ambiance and creatively plated regional dishes, Il Cavatappi provides an authentic taste of Italian cuisine. Visitors can also enjoy outdoor seating along the water while savoring their meals.
We sat in the covered alleyway just outside the restaurant, enjoying a delicious dinner accompanied by the warm breeze from the lake. The food was both flavourful and beautifully presented, and the service was attentive and genuinely pleasant. I had made the reservation the day before by visiting the restaurant in person and leaving an €80 cash deposit — a practice that seems fairly common in Varenna. For a restaurant of this quality, I wouldn’t hesitate to put cash down again.

Food was good and tasty, quick to come out as well. Didn’t wait long for a table but there were 2 hairs in my food, the waitress immediately ordered another one for me. Had to order a drink though, wouldn’t let me just order food. Atmosphere 3 due to no view. Nice menu, has wifi and toilet.

Incredible food! Lunch / dinner slots fill up fast! Food here was very good. The octopus starter was to die for. One of my favorite starters I’ve ever had. Best octopus dish. It was cooked perfect and tasted amazing. Went well with the chickpea purée underneath. So delicious. The gnocchi was delicious as well. Cooked perfect. The lamb shank was huge and great. Service was good as well. The guy was very nice and friendly! Super great server to have

My wife and I went to Il Cavatappi on our very first night in Italy as part of our honeymoon, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable meals we’ve ever had. We did all four courses and stayed for about two and a half hours—it was perfect. The servers were so kind, fun, and welcoming, which made the evening even more special. We arrived early without a reservation and were lucky to get a table outside, but I highly recommend making a reservation. Don’t be fooled by the line at the neighboring spot—this is where you want to eat. The food was outstanding: the creamiest, freshest burrata, incredible pasta, and perfectly cooked lamb. We shared a bottle of delicious wine from Cascina Chicco, and everything paired beautifully. The atmosphere outside in the center of Varenna was magical—great for people-watching and just soaking in the town. Il Cavatappi is truly a gem, and we can’t wait to return on our next trip to Varenna. Absolutely unforgettable.

My wife and I ate here when we stayed in Varenna this past May. We had the meat and cheese board followed by the pasta with Duck Ragu accomplices by a lovely Barolo. We were in Italy for 23 days and this one of our highlights. The food was fresh and flavourful and the location with the tables set right along the narrow street is magical. I will be chasing that Duck Ragu flavour for a while.

Me and my wife had our honeymoon meal in Il Cavatappi. We were welcomed without a reservation and the service from the moment you enter is impeccable. We decided to have the Caprese salad to start which was wonderful. The stand out of the evening however was the highly recommended lamb shank with berries. It falls off the bone and is the best meal I've had since being in Italy. My wife had the lemon ravioli which was bursting with lemon flavour and obviously skillfully made. I felt like every place I'd been to in Varenna and Belaggio up until that point was a little tourist trap, however Il Cavatappi felt different. It felt as if we were somewhere special, somewhere we'd been looking for. It really was worth the hype.

Il Pinzimonio is a modern restaurant in Northern Italy known for its traditional dishes and wood-fired pizzas. The venue features exposed-stone walls and a casual, two-level space with a simple Mondrian color aesthetic. Specializing in cutlets served with various cheese or truffle sauces, the restaurant also offers delicious renditions of Italian classics like risotto and mixed seafood pasta.
While in Lago di Como for a few days we ate at this restaurant twice for lunch, and both times were exceptional. From the start we were seated immediately, and a moment later our drink orders were taken. As soon as we set down our menus, a staff person came by to take our dining order. While waiting on our meals, we noticed the staff always scanning the room, looking for something to do, or someone to attend to. As for the atmosphere, very comfortable, spacious, and clean. As for the food: perfect. Our dishes looked amazing and tasted even better (very flavorful) The food is on the more expensive side, but given the high quality and city, we consider it reasonable. When we return to Como, we will definitely eat here again.

Excellent fast service in a beautiful restaurant in Como. Had lunch and dinner here, both times great. Service was welcoming, fast and attentive. Good came out quickly and tasted great. Lovely location in a quiet area in Como. Best gluten free pizza and pasta I have ever eaten 😊

I am so glad we found this gem in Como. The food is amazing, we ordered about 5 dishes and all of them were made fresh and with high quality ingredients. Bit to mention the flavors were so good! Also, the service was fantastic. The waiters were so nice and accommodating, and they treated us very well. I will definitely come back here when I’m in Como again.

We ate here twice, and both times it was spectacular! The menu had great variety and a creative flare! The pizza Cinque Terre is an example - goat cheese pesto and olives. And the pizza Frutti de Mare was loaded with fresh seafood! It’s a must try. Super friendly staff. And I even got an Italian lesson.

If you're a tourist, order your meal from the menu and don't rely on the waiter or the restaurant manager recommendation. At least check the price of each dish before paying. This way, you don't have to pay double the price, as happened to me at this restaurant, which ruined its delicious food and beautiful setting with fraud and deception.
Mohammad A — Google review
It's a terrible place. Of all the restaurants in Como this is the worst. It takes too long to get your order, water, food. Due to my allergies, I can't eat certain foods, so I asked for a substitute and they offered to pay for the side dish, which I've never seen done before (please eat the bad-quality crackers yourself). This place doesn't have bad service, it just doesn't have any. I've never encountered anything like this. It's terrifying. And this place full of tourists, and I assume it's a standard tourist destination. This is the first and last time I'll visit it.

La Tana dei Pescatori is a charming restaurant located near the historic center of Como, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere. Situated on the lakeside promenade, it's an ideal spot for a romantic dinner with its softly lit, vaulted room. The menu features a wide variety of seafood dishes including tartares, fritto misto, grilled fish, and pasta alle vongole. The restaurant is known for its accommodating service and extensive wine list.
We had grilled squid, Sicilian shrimp, oyster, and raw red shrimp. Squid was grilled terrifically. It was juicy and tender. Sicilian shrimp was also grilled faultlessly. It was sweet and juicy. Oysters were very fresh and had a very smooth taste. Raw red shrimps were ok. The service was impeccable.

We went to this restaurant in hope to have a nice seafood meal. The contorni for 8€ each (mixed salad and tomatosalad) were way to expensive for the amount you get. The spaghetti alle vongole were delicious and well seasoned and a decent portion. Unfortunately the fritto misto of different seafood still had the fishbones inside them and i wasn‘t used to having them not removed before frying and especially serving the guest. Tiramisu and panna cotta were okay but nothing special, we had way more delicious counterparts at other restaurants. The ambiance was nice though. Service was decent. Overall, if you like seafood and wanna spend a bit too much money, go to this restaurant. If you wanna eat something better with fair prices, don‘t come here. Best Regards Dze & E

I don’t understand why this restaurant has 4.1 stars Deserve more stars 1st day of Como’s food was bit disappointing except gelato every pizza, pasta etc was bit boring. Second evening I had best fruit de mer in my life. So many varieties of fresh shell fish. Perfect cooking spaghetti. They don’t serve you those bawl of water with lemon floating. But after all those shell fish peelings with your fingers, your fingers doesn’t smell of fish. Those shell fish is that fresh!! Just loved it.

We’ve been coming to La Tana del Pescatore even before COVID, and it always feels like coming home. This time I returned again and took my friends with me and everything was just as warm and welcoming as before. The atmosphere is cozy, the food is authentic, and the service truly makes the experience special. A big thank you to the staff — not only were they attentive and kind, but one of them even helped us communicate with our Uber driver in Italian, which we really appreciated. It’s these small gestures that make us love this place even more. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Como!

If you are a seafood lover then this is a must visit! The fish was super fresh and the dishes were delicious but more on the “expensive” side (depending on what you order) One of our starters were 28€ and our main was 55€ (the main was for 2 people) Only downside was the service The service was slow and a bit lacking. Our server also messed up our order but fixed it right away after we told them. We felt that we were forgotten many times and it was difficult to get in touch with the staff But the food was very good so would still visit again

When looking for a fish restaurant in Como, not so many different options with such a variety of fresh fish and choices (row or cooked fish). On the other hand, I was not impressed. I was there for dinner. Found place without reservation, but strongly suggested to book in advance. We order 2 different tartares as starters (shrimps only and mixed) and we were served pretty fast. Tartares were good and well served, interestingly served on top of fresh chopped cucumbers that made the taste of fish even more delicate. We then had the big plate of mix of gratin seafood (min 2 pax); we were served a quite impressing quantity of seafood, scampi and shrimps on a big plate. Unfortunately the fish ended up in a bit of disappointment. The early bites were showing a pretty “flat” taste (bread crumbles and oil in the gratin were covering the taste of mussels and shrimps) and ended-up with the same repetitive bites regardless the type of seafood we were eating, in spite of having pretty high quality seafood in. We were surrounded by people tasting a similar raw version of our plate, and had the impression it was appreciated more. I could suggest to take these big plates and share in a bigger group as a starter (share plate in 4 people) and then taste other things. I have to go back to have a more complete opinion. We finished with 2 desserts, one creme brûlée and one profiteroles (all other desserts were of good quality -from brand Sal de Riso- but not freshly made in the restaurant. Our choice was ok-ish, but not impressing. We accompanied with water only, but the wine choice is pretty broad. Bill was at the level of the freshness of the fish, so 60+ per persons (nb: with no wine)

We waited for almost 2 hours, and the food still did not arrive. For such prices and small portions, you'd think the food would at least arrive in a timely manner. Do not recommend!

If I could give a place higher than 5 stars, I would. This place was absolutely amazing. The best seafood I've ever had, and I've been to many restaurants so this says a lot. Aside from the delicious taste, the options are plentiful. Definitely something there for everyone. We kind of got spoiled when we went, because it was mum's birthday, so we got some freebies from the generous owner 😇 Can't wait to come here again next time I'm in Como! ❤️ 100% recommend!

The restaurant takes pride in providing an authentic culinary experience that reflects the essence of Lombardy, featuring traditional dishes like casoncelli and polenta with a creative twist.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. We got married in Lake Como and had a welcome dinner here for our entire group. It is an absolutely magical place - no other way to describe it!!! The outside patio is stunning and the lights that are up twinkle right above you. There is a lake view as well. You can’t ask for more ambiance wise! And the food!!!! The food was unbelievable. We had two types of risotto (a black truffle and a lake cheese), lasagna, and a type of broccoli sauce gnocchi, as well as zucchini flowers, prosciutto, and tiramisu. Everyone raved about the food. The lasagna is the best we’ve ever had!!! This is definitely a top spot in the area. Several people told us it was so wonderful we could have called that night our wedding instead! So, so grateful to the wonderful staff. Everyone was so kind and gracious to us!

The place is nice (very nice view if you get a table on the terrasse), but the portion was extremely small. My girlfriend ordered a sea bass and got 2 tiny pieces with no sides and a small ridiculous amount of sauce. After that we had no appetite to order anything else so we left.

I’ve been to Trattoria del Glicine a few times now and it never disappoints. The food is consistently excellent—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service is always warm and attentive. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Everything from the food, wine, atmosphere, and staff. We’ve found service varies tremendously in Europe, however Trattoria del Glicine is the exception. They strive for top notch service from start to finish. Bea & Francesco are true gems. This was the best dining experience we had during our time in Como, so much so we are having our Wedding Welcome Party on their terrace this month.

The owner and chef, Momi, infuses passion and creativity into the cuisine, offering a special menu that showcases traditional dishes in a new and lighter way alongside inventive recipes. I was lucky enough to visit Momi thanks to an introduction from my Airbnb host, and what a gift it turned out to be. He made sure we were well looked after and even secured the best seat inside (a blessing on a chilly evening). From the moment we sat down, everything was exceptional. The food was beyond delicious, easily one of the highlights of my time in Italy. Every bite felt like a love letter to the region. The service was warm, attentive, and truly second to none. Wonderful venue with a stunning View on the Lake. Food on the Other Hand was, My First experience there, Not at the Same Level. Menu is fairly Rich, with good options for Appetizers and Main courses. We were a table of 6, and tried many of the options . Appetizers (sformatino di verdure and Variation of vitel tonnee with missoltino) were good and peculiar (unfortunately octopus was already over even if we were pretty early). Main courses with up and downs: tagliolini with River Shrimps were delicious, paccheri with ragù of ossobuco were a Full disappointment -dry and tasteless-; sweets fairly good. Maybe it was a wrong day to Taste the very well known kitchen of this Place. It deserves a Next Chance, maybe in low Season with less tourists in the place . Service can be improved (Running out of Appetizers is Not an Option for such a Good Place)

I’m glad that I found this place, amazing atmosphere with unique design. There is a bistro and osteria with different menu’s. We made a reservation in the osteria, where the menu is more traditional, easy to share. They have big portions for two and even a whole chicken so it’s perfect place for dinner with family or friends. We really enjoyed the food and the whole experience with their staff. Great Ambiance and Wine, but a Catastrophic Menu Error Led to Total Service Failure We chose this restaurant based on a highly reliable recommendation from a close friend. Upon arrival, the beauty of the setting and the friendliness of the staff and the excellent wine list immediately made us hopeful for a wonderful evening. This is what makes the final result so disappointing. The issue began with a critical error on the English menu. I ordered a pasta dish described as containing " egg tagalini with red tuna batarga ." When the dish arrived, the flavor was overwhelmingly intense, tasting very salty and distinctly of gone-off fish. We immediately stopped eating it. We then took the time to translate the original Italian description ourselves, only to discover the dish was not "egg pasta with tuna," but fermented tuna eggs (bottarga). This is a massive, inexcusable translation mistake, as the actual ingredient is an acquired taste and vastly different from the palatable description we read. Furthermore, even accepting what it was, the quality was poor. (Our other dish, the beef skewers, was simply okay—nothing special.) When we politely explained the situation to the waiter and manager—pointing out that we were served a dish we couldn't eat due to their error on the menu—the response was shocking. The manager refused to offer an alternative, stating that the kitchen had already closed. He offered a quick apology but insisted on charging full price for the entirely inedible, mistranslated dish. The willingness to let a customer leave dissatisfied and pay for a meal they did not order, simply because the restaurant made a menu error and could not be bothered to correct it, demonstrates a profound failure in customer service. Final Verdict: Go for the atmosphere and the wine, but be extremely wary of the English menu translations, and know that if something goes wrong, management will not prioritize your experience. A real letdown after such a strong recommendation.

Found this place randomly when searching google maps and did not disappoint. We’re sat upstairs in the flower room which was a bit hot but fine. Burrata and the steak were divine and extensive wine list for all palates. Service was exceptional and prices are those expected of Como, we paid more for a lot worse in the centre of town!

Loved eating here. Felt like a very authentic Italian eating experience. Fresh pasta, daily new choices, great food, and there’s two and three course special prices. The risotto was especially delicious. Highly recommend

A hidden gem. We found this place by accident as we were walking from Villa Balbianello. Thank god we did. One of our best eats in Lake Como. Very aunthentic Italian cuisine. Food was great. Staff were excellent. Would highly recommend. Ciao

This was one of the best meals we had at Lake Como. We ordered the blueberry risotto to share as a starter - unique flavor we both enjoyed. Then we had the duck and lamb - great flavor and would go back. They also serve several types of bread with amazing olive oil to start. Friendly service as well.

Amazing food. Typical of the area. We were very happy to have booked in this restaurant. There were also options for kids. We had a great time. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great. We hope we will go again someday.

We went here for dinner our last night in the area and were very impressed! The staff, atmosphere, and food were all great. The restaurant had a warm, cozy feel which was the perfect way to end our stay in Azzano. We loved all the food but especially our pastas, tiramisu, and affogato. Highly recommend!

I recently dined in this Italian restaurant around Lake Como area, and I must say it was an superb culinary experience. The food was simply amazing, with every dish bursting with flavors. The fish was very fresh and delicious, and the risotto was a delight. The ambiance was equally delightful, in an almost 600 years old house that added to the overall experience. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, wine selections in their menu complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, this Italian restaurant in Lake Como left a lasting impression with its exceptional food. I highly recommend this place if you are looking something other than pasta and pizza while enjoying the Lake Como area

Incredible food and great service! We came here for lunch at opening time to find room (can be quite busy even for lunch), and had a delicious meal. The waiter was super friendly and helpful with recommendations, pairing the wine/prosecco with the food we ordered. And everything, especially the complimentary homemade bread with olive oil was delicious! Even the desserts were special, we had a drowned rum and espresso in ice cream. Highly recommend this place :)

La Cava dei Sapori Como is a remarkable restaurant located on the outskirts of Como. It's known for its exceptional attention to detail in creating delicious dishes, using fresh seasonal ingredients that rotate every four months. The open kitchen provides an entertaining experience for guests, especially children who are given the opportunity to wear a chef's hat and explore the kitchen. The staff is friendly and accommodating, offering great service and recommendations on food and drinks.
La Cava dei Sapori in Como is a hidden gem that I’m so glad I discovered! From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is warm and inviting, with an authentic Italian charm. The service is impeccable—staff are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is absolutely incredible! Every dish is made with the freshest ingredients, and the flavors are perfectly balanced. The pizza was like, just perfect! We can especially recommend the “la Cava” pizza. And trying their house specialties especially the dessert! The local wines paired wonderfully with our meal. What really sets La Cava apart, though, is the cozy, intimate atmosphere. It’s perfect for a romantic dinner or a special gatherings with friends and family. I can’t wait to return on my next visit to Como!

The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside and also has a lovely terrace. It strikes the perfect balance between elegance and a cozy atmosphere, perhaps thanks to the incredibly friendly and welcoming staff, who are always ready to offer the best recommendations for a memorable dining experience (special thanks to Alexandra, who made our evening truly complete). The food was absolutely delicious, you could really taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients, and everything was prepared with great skill and care. You can even watch the chefs at work as they prepare your meal, which adds a special touch to the experience. We all thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate, but what truly blew me away were the carbonara pasta. I’ve never had pasta that good before! Every dish we tried was simply top-notch. This place seems to be mostly frequented by locals, which might explain the consistently high quality. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

Found by chance on our way to Modena, we were lucky to stumble on this slow food jewel. The menu was truly beautiful but limited by time we opted for the pizza. Great sourdough crust, airy and delicious. Tiramisu was also a delight. Setting / atmosphere is lovely. Worth the detour from Como.

The food was absolutely amazing. One of the best pizzas we’ve ever had. The desserts, especially the bonet, were also a delightful surprise. What stood out even more was the exceptional service. The waiter was super friendly, gave us great recommendations, and could answer all our questions. The atmosphere felt very welcoming and overall it was just a fantastic evening. If we are ever back in Como, we will definitely come again.

Excellent food and friendly service. Nice decor as well. definitely recommendable! Try for sure one of their signature pizza’s my favourite is the “48 slow”, followed by the Australiana. One small comment: the plates should have been preheated as the pizzas turned cold quite quickly. Desserts were also good. Reserve in advance!

Hosteria Del Platano is a restaurant in Varenna, Italy that serves fantastic Mediterranean food. The zucchini flowers were the best part of our meal, and the staff was very friendly. The pasta dishes we had were perfect, and we would definitely return here in the future!
Our dining experience at this restaurant was outstanding. We visited twice—once for lunch and once for dinner. The service was exceptional, with Norma as our host. She was knowledgeable, polite, and hospitable. The wine list featured a wide variety of local selections. The zucchini blossoms were delightful, and the tagliatelle with Puccini mushrooms was authentically prepared. The local lake fish was a unique and memorable experience. My wife ordered the beef tartar and the local steak, both of which were absolutely stunning. We highly recommend this restaurant in every way possible

We stumbled upon this restaurant on a day strolling along the lake on Varenna. The restaurant was set in a secluded area of the town where there’s not much going on. However, we had the honour to be the only table in the restaurant for lunch that afternoon sitting at the patio overlooking the lake. I can echo the other reviewer that this should be a Michelin starred restaurant quality food! We had the two course lunch ordering smoke trout and smoked duck, and lamb chop as well as pappardelle ragu for entree and finished off with a berries and gelato dessert. Everything was beyond this world delicious. Hopefully I’ll have the chance to visit again soon!

We were here in July and we had a wonderful evening. I would describe the cuisine as classic Italian but particularly high quality, all the courses were incredibly delicious. The small wine list consists almost exclusively of Italian wines, we drank a tasty Riesling from Piedmont. Particularly noteworthy is the very friendly and professional service, also in English. We would love to come back!

We had a wonderful lunch. Service was welcoming and on point. Food was excellent, perfect quality of seasonal local products. A visit is highly recommended. Prices are reasonable, everything is produced in the restaurant. We had 7 different dishes - each was excellent and rich in flavor. The chef understands to highlight the taste of each ingredient and compose them well to balanced dishes. Thank you for having us!

We stayed in the air bnb attached to this restaurant which is also awesome. The food here was great, the service was warm and attentive when needed. The quality of the food was top tier and if you’re in the area and want a nice romantic dinner in a 17th century building I would highly recommend.

Stayed across the street at a really nice Airbnb. Figured we’d give the restaurant a try. Walk up and some elderly waitress abruptly swings open the door and says they’re all booked up despite the numerous open seats outside. I then walk back up to the door to inquire about reservations and she says “use the website” and shuts the door lol They need to fire this old dingbat, it’s not a good look. Especially for a run-down place without a view. Go a bit further down the street to a place like Bar Il Molo. Friendly staff and great view. Other great places in Varenna too. No need to visit this rude establishment. Instead, I just order from Varenna and get a better view from my accommodation than this place can provide, without a rude old lady 🤣

Da Luciano - Bottega e Caffe' is a charming family-run restaurant situated in Laglio, offering authentic Italian cuisine and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The establishment was originally an old family butcher shop that has been transformed into a cozy bistro by two brothers, Andrea and Alessandro. Here, guests can savor a variety of appetizers paired with delicious snacks while also having the opportunity to purchase a selection of local ingredients and specialties from neighboring regions.
Best recommendation we received during our time at Como! Family run establishment and a favorite for locals. Excellent butcher products (get the meatballs!) and homemade gelato.
Alysabeth M — Google review
Found this place while driving around the lake… beautiful lakeside setting. A small parking is adjacent so it made for an easy place to visit, fortunately not too crowded when we arrived. Seating right on the lake in addition to tables just outside the butcher shop. Food and drinks were great, and service friendly. A brief 20 minute wait for a table, but it’s a nice place to hang in the meantime. 😎
Kirk R — Google review
They have a very limited number of dishes to choose from, and you have to choose and pay for the side dish separately. The plating of the dishes is very good for sharing. The food itself was pretty good, the chickens was so soft and coated with delicious olive oil. The meatballs were a little surprising, they had a very strong meat flavour but no sauce or anything like that. The staff was extremely polite and friendly.

A very memorable dining experience in Italy from Da Luciano. The weather was perfect when we visited so the view added to the great experience. Food is tasty, not the best but worth to try. They served warm, soft bread, yummy cheese and meat. We ordered the rabbit: flavor is good but the meat was not as tender as expected. They also serve good coffee and wine. Highly recommended place in the Como area.

Such a beautiful view! Great small bites, drinks, and amazing gelato! Not really a restaurant per se but if you want something f heavier the steak was excellent as was green salad. Ridiculously good value as well. Expect a 20-30min wait at minimum.

Most places that have an amazing view usually have lackluster food but this restaurant is the exception. The food was phenomenal! We shared the T-bone steak, Caprese salad, Hugo Spritz, Strawberry and Lemon gelato and an espresso and we somehow only paid €60. They also give you a meat and cheese board complimentary. Highly recommend this restaurant!

This is a must visit bar in Laglio. Amazing food, super friendly and beautiful lakeside views. A real gem! Excellent "small plate" menu. Everything is excellent. My personal favourite is the Meatballs. Family owned and run and, you can tell how good it is as it is frequented by locals! Ristorante Mistral is an upscale dining venue located within the luxurious Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni, offering a creative and elevated Italian-inspired cuisine. With its breathtaking views of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains, this Michelin-starred restaurant provides a unique dining experience. Directed by Chef Ettore Bocchia, known for his expertise in molecular cuisine, Mistral presents a diverse menu that combines traditional and innovative recipes using seasonal ingredients.
My husband and I went here for our 20th wedding anniversary and it was the most spectacular meal. We’ve been to a number of Michelin rated restaurants and this one surpasses them all. The service was impeccable the second we walked in and the views were absolutely breathtaking. The meal itself was extremely memorable. My husband had a shellfish appetizer that was a piece of art and also delicate and delicious. The peacock tortellini was otherworldly and the veal loin presentation was perfection. Service was responsive but not overbearing. It will be a meal I remember for the rest of my life.

This place has a very good menu selection and the food is great. Not sure why people are posting prices to be very expensive because it is not. Appetizer, main course, drink and water was about €39. The manager and the wait staff were marvelous, very attentive and helpful. Definitely recommend it.

We had the pleasure of dining at Ristorante Mistral and it was a fantastic experience. The tasting menu was full of creativity and flavour, beautifully presented from start to finish. The service was on another level – attentive, professional and genuinely warm, which made the evening feel even more special. It’s not an everyday place as it comes with a Michelin price tag, but for a memorable occasion it’s absolutely worth it. The atmosphere has a unique charm that stays with you long after you leave.

Ristorante Mistral is one of the best restaurants you’ll find in Bellagio. We opted for the seven course tasting menu which was modified to accommodate my dietary restrictions without diminishing the gastronomy experience. I tried everything from fois gras to peacock. The signature dessert was a nice treat at the end of service—liquid nitrogen ice cream made right in front of you! Overall, the menu was creative and packed with flavor, the service was white glove and ambiance was beautiful. The views of the lake were breathtaking and I loved the live piano performance you can hear from the hotel lounge area. If you’re in Lake Como for a special occasion, I highly recommend making a reservation here.

This place was amazing. This review is about the hotel bar and Mistral the restaurant. The bar - the attention was fabulous. My husband ordered a gin and tonic. They said there is an experience with it. So they sprayed aromas and added floral pieces into his drink. He said it was delicious. They brought us some aperitif to have while we ate. Mistral. Worth every penny. Every course is explained to you. Our food and fishes were delicious. You can. Goose a preset 5 course meal or do it ala cart. They changed our napkins 3 times. They would refill our water as soon as we put it down. If I left they would put my napkin back in my lap. There were no gaps in service. Ur all flowed well. It was a few hours with the most spectacular view of Lake Como and 5 star food. If I ever return, I will definitely return.
Jenny R — Google review
A little about the tasting menu (€250 per person) and related service if you are curious. Overall had a great time, but I have to mention the key points for people: The tartar with caviar (1st course) was on point. The peacock was not able to be tasted because it was drenched in seasoning and broth, which made it taste like pork. The grouper fish was overcooked making the texture squeaky rather than softly melting. The chef or the assistant needs to regain tastebud because their salting is way off. The waitress is very nice, the one with M tattoo on her neck behind ear, but had trouble explaining all the food in detail and her pronunciation was hard to understand as if she wanted to get away with saying it fast. The table experience was off as stains were not immediately covered and breadcrumbs were not removed in a timely manner. The pigeon was also on point and salted correctly. They shouldn’t have fried the gnocco with greens for the welcoming menu, because this is cheap taste. Let’s hear other people out and see if they deserve to maintain the one Michelin star. I think they need to be inspected. Important 💔: The manager who is tall and bald had claimed that the two corner tables in the forefront of lakeview were booked six months in advance, but it was discovered that this was an exaggeration according to guests. This small lie made me mistrust the peacock and the related explanation. Overall, satisfied with the ambience and the view and the mood. Not so much the excellence of the food. It is possible the chef was absent and the manager is too egotistical as a result.
Nicholas P — Google review
Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. Friendly and professional staff. Beautiful piano music. Fabulous somaliere. Strongly recommended.
Line M — Google review
This place is so overrated. Our waitress was clearly annoyed she had a table of 2 women and not a 60+ year old man with a 25 year old girlfriend. The whole place is super stuffy but not even in a classic cool way. The food was very mediocre considering what you pay. Quality seemed low compared to any other place in the area and the vibe was comparable to a funeral. The wine is actually decently priced for good bottles which was the only upside. The view is nice but we were seated behind the front row (maybe because we were two women and no men but I don’t want to make assumptions). Although there were 3 empty tables on the front row for an hour after we were seated. If you want to pay $300+ for a below average meal to show off then this is your spot. If you actually want a good dinner and experience then would not recommend.

(Translated by Google) Honestly I was disappointed I had heard good things about it... Very, very spartan environment, covered in paper, very basic service... I wouldn't have judged this if I hadn't spent the significant sum I shelled out for dinner. Dinner 3 people six appetizers (called cicchetti) 2 second courses 1 Polenta 3 pastry desserts (BAD) 1 bottle of still wine... €158 of course I don't expect them to offer me the digestive but it wouldn't have been bad given that they were supermarket liqueurs at reasonable prices. In my opinion, I honestly didn't have a bad meal, but the quality, price, service combined, I find it very expensive. I tried it, I judged it personally, I don't recommend it, or I don't recommend it... everyone has their own opinion. (Original) Sinceramente sono rimasta delusa ne avevo sentito parlare bene... My husband and I shared one of their beautiful salads. Then I ordered the risotto with fried perch and my husband had the veal milanese. Oh my goodness!! Everything was fresh and melted in our mouths! Our server was helpful and wonderful. A absolutely perfect remembrance.

Italian restaurant
Trattoria del Porto, located in Careno di Nesso on Lake Como, has been owned by the Zambra family for many years. The restaurant offers a picturesque lakeside setting and specializes in dishes made with local lake fish. Accessible by boat or car followed by a walk through the charming alleys of Careno, the restaurant's terrace provides priceless views. Visitors praise the hidden gem for its beautiful garden, delectable food including vegetarian options, and excellent service.
Wow, wow, WOW! If you’re looking to avoid the tourist traps around Lake Como and experience truly local Lombardian fare, this must be at the top of your list. With exquisite fish dishes, incredible views, and the warmth of the very best of Italian hospitality, Trattoria del Porto exceeds the mark in every aspect. This is THE PLACE to eat the local dish “Riso e Pesce” or Rice and Fish. Reservations are highly recommended and the place is truly an adventure to find, but it’s so worth it in every aspect. I cannot wait to go back!

It's not ordinary pizza or pasta - it's a historically correct traditional food common for Como region back then. The owner and all the staff were highly pleasant and attentive. We had a great experience 🤌🏻💗

Such an authentic and welcoming restaurant. Very local atmosphere and food selection. Totally recommend!

Such an amazing place to relax with a beautiful view of Lake Como. We started with two fish-based appetizers paired with white wine, followed by a delicious main course, cheese, dessert, and a local wine. I especially loved the main course, fried fish with risotto which was absolutely delicious!

Challenging to get there but totally worth the effort. We had a really nice evening at this lovely restaurant. The service is very welcoming and attentive. The menu might seem to be a bit expensive, but it includes everything and you won't pay any extras. The wine served with the dinner was great and in a generous amount, the food was very local, so no pasta, obviously no pizza and it's based on the local fish. We had a lovely evening and had a great experience.

Best restaurant within the radius of 100km. You get a very good value 5 course local fish treat. The wine suggestion was spot on. You can have access by boat or road. But please try the road because it was exceptionally beautiful. The owner was super friendly, he gave us a list of must-visit places. We didn’t have time to finish all of them but his advices were very good. So thank you if you are reading this review 🙏
Hanh L — Google review
Amazing place with a great view! The staff is very nice and helpful. The menu is fixed and takes you through a number of carefully prepared dishes, all with fresh fish from the lake. It is very well balanced, both in regards to taste and in regards to quantity. As a bonus, don't drive there, their wine and limoncello are great. If you travel to Lake Como it's definitely an experience worth checking out at least once. Make sure to call and make a reservation in advance, as some days it can get pretty easily crowded.

Wow, what a unique experience. First you walk down 300 steps, and discover a quaint and beautifully rustic restaurant overlooking the lake. We enjoyed every course and the ambience made the experience even better. The dishes take you through a gastronomical history lesson of Lake Como.

Italian restaurant
Al Prato Restaurant is a delightful dining spot nestled in the picturesque village of Varenna on Lake Como. The restaurant boasts a menu featuring authentic Italian dishes crafted from locally sourced, fresh ingredients and lake fish. Its inviting ambiance includes outdoor seating for enjoying meals during pleasant weather. Guests can savor delectable offerings such as pumpkin ravioli, sea bass, and rack of lamb, all expertly prepared.
This restaurant doesn’t accept reservations online or by phone. So upon arriving in the enchanting town of Varenna, I immediately left a €100 cash deposit in person to secure a dinner reservation for three nights later. When the evening finally arrived, we were completely blown away by the presentation and flavor of every dish. Service was friendly and attentive. The entire experience exceeded my already high expectations and was easily one of the finest Italian dining experiences I’ve ever had.

Got a table towards the end of lunch without a reservation and it was one of the best (if not best) meals of the trip. The pasta was amazing, with the flavors of the cheese perfectly shining through. Eggplant Parmesan was incredible; everything about it felt elevated. Affogato was a delicious end to the meal. While we didn't need to put down a 100 Euro deposit for a reservation, I wouldn't hesitate to do it. This place is definitely worth it!

I was super nervous that I wouldn’t be able to get a table as they don’t accept reservations online or by phone. For dinner, you can secure a reservation for a €100+ cash deposit. I arrived at exactly noon for lunch and despite their signage stating that they were full and stanchions blocking entry, I called over the host and asked for a table for two. He sat us immediately. Despite the restaurant being rather empty, the host did cherry pick who he allowed to dine there. I couldn’t really tell what the requirements were but he seemed to choose tourists that weren’t dressed like tourists, those that greeted him, and those with small parties. If a crowd formed, he would deny everyone lined up. Despite the reviews about the host and staff, they treated us incredibly well, stopping by multiple times to check in and ensure we were enjoying our meals. The food was also good! I got the lamp chops which i’d recommend. If you can’t get in for dinner, try lunch! I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re visiting Varenna.

In over 4 decades of travelling to Italy, this is, without doubt, my absolute favourite restaurant in all of Italy. We leave each time with wonderful memories, and when we return the meal surpasses those memories. It’s that good. Every single bite. Great host and staff, whose job I’m sure is made so very easy by the magnificent kitchen. Do yourself a favour. If at all possible eat here once before you die 😀

Sublime and spectacular. We shared the piping-hot melted tomme cheese and grilled vegetable starter. My husband devoured his gorgeous rib-eye steak while I had the sea bass. For dessert? A shared cheesecake topped with crumbled crisp meringue and perfect raspberries. We feel so well fed and cared for.

The lamb chops were sooo good!! The bread they served was also fresh and delicious — I especially loved the green one, maybe it had pistachio in it. I’ll definitely visit this restaurant again if I come back to Varenna!

Great on all aspects, the food Is local, well prepared and properly explained when served. Everything was byeond good, you could feel a special touch on both the tagliatelle and the lasagna. A good wine and very nice service makes this place the one not to miss in Varenna. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

One of the best meals we had in Italy, everything we ordered was a standout dish. Highly recommend the lake fish mains or the tasting platter which came with fish pâté, grilled fish and their smoked local speciality. We also enjoyed the lamb chops and porcini beef lasagna, which were plated wonderfully and packed full of flavour — even the sautéed veggies, potato gratin and small fruits on the side were top-notch! The pavlova and warmed peach cake with ice cream were the perfect sweet notes to end our meal. Really appreciate the service here too. The staff were so kind to seat us even though we arrived 30min before their closing time for lunch, and never rushed us through the meal even past their lunch opening hours. They remained friendly and attentive throughout! Thank you for a great meal here.

Nestled on the shores of Lake Como, Grand Hotel Tremezzo offers a luxurious retreat with a private beach, marina, and upscale dining options. This family-run hotel exudes old-world charm and hospitality, providing personalized service by a young and dynamic team. Guests can indulge in various experiences such as wine tasting, water sports, sailing tours, vintage car rentals, and more.
This is a beautiful lake hotel with absolutely stunning views of Lake Como and Bellagio that never get old. The property is impeccably maintained and you can tell they take pride in keeping everything in excellent condition. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between elegant and relaxing - you feel pampered without any stuffiness. The food throughout our stay was consistently good, whether at breakfast or dinner, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and staff seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a great experience. The setting is just magical - waking up to those lake views and being able to enjoy them throughout the day from various spots on the property. Everything about the place encourages you to slow down and enjoy the moment. This is exactly what a luxury lake hotel should be - beautiful, comfortable, and memorable.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The room was wonderful (corner terrace suite), and service at the main restaurant and pool restaurant was good. I docked two stars because the service at the lobby outside bar was absolutely horrible. We experienced this two nights in a row, and then did not attempt to go back after that. Also the spa was great in terms of facilities, however we were not offered towels, robes, or a locker which we felt was very odd. Unfortunately overall the service was a miss for us. When paying this much for a hotel you want to feel like a valued guest.

An Unforgettable Experience at Grand Hotel Tremezzo Staying at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo is nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment you arrive, you are enveloped in an atmosphere of timeless elegance and genuine warmth. The property itself is stunning—perched on the shores of Lake Como with breathtaking views—but what truly sets this hotel apart is its impeccable service. Every interaction with the staff reflects a level of attentiveness and professionalism that is rare to find. They anticipate your needs before you even articulate them, creating a seamless and personalized experience throughout your stay. Whether it’s arranging a private boat tour, recommending a hidden gem for dining, or simply greeting you with a smile that feels sincere, the team goes above and beyond in every possible way. The attention to detail is remarkable: from the beautifully curated rooms to the exquisite dining options and the immaculate grounds. It’s clear that the staff takes immense pride in ensuring every guest feels not just welcomed, but truly cared for. If you are looking for a destination that combines luxury, history, and world-class hospitality, Grand Hotel Tremezzo is in a league of its own. It’s not just a hotel stay—it’s an experience you will cherish forever.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable experience. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a Suite as it was our honeymoon. The concierge team warmly welcomed us, and when we opened our room door, they had our wedding song playing, accompanied by champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, sweets, a framed picture of us, and hand-written notes. It was the most thoughtful gesture. The staff goes ABOVE and BEYOND every moment the stay and it is truly extraordinary. Every minute we spent at the hotel was heaven. The suite, view, amenities, pools, spa, gardens, etc were absolutely stunning, luxe, and we couldn't get enough. Everything was personalized and we felt extremely well cared for. We had an OUTSTANDING dinner (tip: get the risotto and beef wellington!) and the most incredible breakfast buffet we had ever seen. Our server, Diogo, blew us away with his elegance, knowledge and care - he made our dining experiences magical. We are so grateful to our travel advisor, Mo and the hotel team - we are counting the days down until we can come back to the GHT!!! N&S

We had an amazing time visiting Grand Hotel Tremezzo. We watched sunset from the bar and enjoyed delicious cocktails before heading to dinner at La Terazza. It was a very elegant experience. My husband and I shared the beef wellington which was perfect! The saffron risotto was also exceptional. We will be back!

An Unforgettable Stay at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo We just finished our stay at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo and could not have been happier. Everything about this hotel is pure perfection — from the breathtaking views of Lake Como to the world-class service that makes you feel completely at home. Every staff member we encountered was warm, professional, and genuinely eager to make our stay special. The standout for us was Carolina at the front desk, who went above and beyond in every way. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and thoughtful truly the embodiment of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo’s five-star experience. The property itself is stunning, classic elegance meets modern luxury. The pools, the gardens, the restaurants every detail feels curated and timeless. It’s one of those rare places where you can relax completely and still feel inspired by the surroundings. We’re already planning our return.

A bucket list location that lived up to the hype! Courteous staff that greets you by name throughout the property, unmatched views, and a consistent immersion in luxury & hospitality. The breakfast buffet is unparalleled and the bars & restaurants have enough options to feel content staying on property for the majority of the stay. We can’t wait to find a way back!

Our dining experience at the Restaurant was absolutely exceptional. The cuisine was refined and delicious, each dish prepared with great attention to detail. The service was impeccable — attentive, professional, yet warm and welcoming. The atmosphere, enhanced by the stunning interiors and beautiful view, created a truly memorable setting. Everything came together perfectly — from the ambiance to the culinary experience — making this restaurant a place we would gladly return to and highly recommend
