Restaurant
Mama's Fish House, located on Maui's north shore, is a renowned local landmark offering a seafood-driven Hawaiian menu and stunning ocean views. The restaurant has received accolades such as being a semi-finalist for the 2018 James Beard Foundation Awards and ranking as the second most popular restaurant in the U.S. on OpenTable. With daily farm-to-table deliveries, their menus constantly change to showcase fresh, locally caught fish as the star of the show.
Can’t recommend enough! No wonder they start booking 6 months in advance! Amazing experience start to finish! Our server Eli was above and beyond! He made our dining experience 5⭐️. He had such a good understanding of the flavor palette of each meal and described it in detail, knew the history of the restaurant and was attentive and kind. The views were breathtaking and the drinks were on point. The food was to die for!!! Especially that short rib! Would definitely recommend for a nice dinner out for a special occasion!

We had a wonderful experience at Mama‘s Fish House. Have been here before years ago. The view is unbeatable. Although we did not have reservations, we were able to easily walk in and only waited 10 minutes for a seat at the bar. Our bartenders Tom and Jordan made the best Mai tais and gin based cocktail. We shared crabcakes which were full of a large amount of delicious crab and served with roe on top. We also had the shrimp wontons with a macadamia nut dipping sauce. The lobster bisque had plenty of lobster chunks within it. The Hawaiian Onaga and ahi sashimi dish was amazing. So fresh and flavorful. Do not miss this. For dessert, we opted for the island fruit sorbet which was great, but next time I will definitely order the chocolate Polynesian black pearl. The only thing that could use some improvement is better Wi-Fi service within the restaurant. Overall, a great experience and something everyone should try if their budget and time allows. Try making a reservation in advanced here for sunset.

Mamma’s Fish House truly delivers on the experience — the food is fresh and beautifully prepared, the drinks are excellent, and the service is warm and attentive. Everything feels polished and full of aloha spirit. That said, the price point doesn’t quite match up — it’s definitely on the higher end, and some of the dishes feel a bit overpriced, which makes it seem more about the hype than pure value. Still, the overall experience, atmosphere, and views make it worth visiting at least once. It’s a Maui classic and a must-do spot on the island for anyone who wants to enjoy a memorable meal in a stunning setting.

Just finished a 5 day trip to Maui w my wife and this was an absolute highlight. One of the tougher reservations to get, booked ours far in advance, expectations were high — i was worried. After eating here & experiencing the service, I now understand what the hype is about. You can see this isn’t just a restaurant , it’s an institution & has this refined confidence about them — been here for years, they have perfected the service & food offering. Complimentary valet, a beautiful private beach, and a great ratio of staff to guests. My wife, 25 weeks pregnant & eats plant based, had many options curated for her & i can genuinely say, being from California where vegan food is plentiful, she’s never had more options at a traditionally seafood heavy restaurant than she did at mamas. 3 different entree’s, custom & thoughtful adjustments — our server maile made us feel comfortable from the minute we sat down. The Maui onion tomato salad w/ the 18 year balsamic is something I’ll be making in the future as it was just simple & executed perfectly — again, refined confidence. I also got the octopus dish that was well seasoned and had bright flavors to it - would recommend. There was a hiccup in my wife’s entree & it was handled superbly — immediately took the dish back, expedited a new dish, and when it came out, they gave me a sauce to rewarm my meal as they saw i waited for my wife’s food to come out. Just awareness you don’t see that often. I got the stuffed amberjack w crab & lobster w macadamia hit crust and it just blew me away — simply the best. We had such a good time we bought a t shirt !

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Best Dining Experience of the Year From the moment we arrived at Mama’s Fish House, everything felt special. Valet parking was seamless, we were warmly greeted, and our hostess led us to a beautiful booth with a stunning ocean view. To celebrate our honeymoon, the restaurant even placed a personalized placard at our table — such a thoughtful touch. Despite being one of the busiest restaurants on the island, the atmosphere at our table was calm, relaxed, and perfectly timed. Drinks never sat empty, dishes arrived with precision, and if the staff felt rushed, we would have never known it. The service was flawless — warm, attentive, and truly seamless. The food? Absolutely spectacular. Every bite was fresh, creative, and perfectly prepared. From start to finish, you could tell this was fine dining at its peak, but still carried that casual, beachside warmth that makes it feel authentically Maui. Reservations are a must — we booked three months in advance, and it was more than worth it. Even though it took us an hour to drive there from where we were staying, I would happily make that drive every day if it meant dining here again. If you’re visiting Maui or have something special to celebrate, Mama’s Fish House is the place. This is the pinnacle of what dining should be: thoughtful, welcoming, delicious, and unforgettable. It’s not just a meal, it’s an experience I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

We had multiple friends recommend Mama’s when we said we were going to Maui. I was a little worried it might be overrated after seeing some comments on Facebook, but it was not overrated. I was contacted a couple days before the reservation to ask my husband’s name (so they could put it on the card on our table). There is mandatory valet parking. Every person that greeted us after valet congratulated us for our honeymoon. We were given a table right by the window with a stunning view. You are given bread & soup shot. For an appetizer, we ordered the crispy kanpachi collar. For entrees, we ordered the Mama's Ahi And Mahi-Mahi Curry & Hawaiian Kanpachi With Lobster And Crab In A Macadamia Nut Crust. We did not have any room for dessert. No, the food was not cheap, but it was absolutely delicious & is a lot of food. The waiter was so nice to take a few photos of us. The restaurant is also by a cute beach & we were able to see a sea turtle! I definitely would recommend Mama’s to anyone coming to Maui!

Spectacular on all levels. The views, the walk into the restaurant, the decor inside and of course the food and service was top notch. It was a meal of a lifetime and definitely an expensive but well worth it endeavor. Thank you for one of the best meals we have ever had.
Rosie Q — Google review
I have no idea why this restaurant isn’t rated five stars already. What caught my attention right away was the incredible service—warm, friendly, and attentive to every detail. The staff made us feel welcomed like family. And then the food… absolutely out of this world. The Mahi Mahi curry and the Ahi with Charred pineapple was truly chef’s kiss. Easily the best meal I’ve had in Maui—flavorful, perfectly prepared, and unforgettable. After our meal, they surprised us with refreshing cold towels, which felt amazing, and even offered complimentary valet parking. What more can you ask for? This restaurant truly goes above and beyond.

Restaurant
Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman in Wailea, Maui is a farm-to-table restaurant and bar that offers Hawaiian cuisine, beer, and cocktails in a laid-back setting. It's a hit with both tourists and locals, especially the Whalers Village location which is always bustling. The signature Monkeypod Mai Tai made with two types of rum, lime, macadamia nut orgeat, orange curacao, and honey-lilikoi foam is not to be missed.
We had a great experience here recently. The place was busy, but even as a party of 6 we were seated quickly. Most of us indulged in their famous Mai Tais, delicious. The gluten-free options are limited, but our server was knowledgeable about gluten and said the kitchen could support a variety of options. We got the roast chicken wings and fish tacos. Both were very good. While we didn't indulge in cream pie for dessert, our gluten eating friends had slices of the banana and strawberry cream pies. They said they were delicious.

We dined here on our honeymoon and we loved the experience! The ambiance of the restaurant was really fun and it was cool to see all the various cocktails and things on the menu. We got truffle fries and some type of ravioli to start… loved the fries but would not recommend the ravioli. It was a weird texture and overpoweringly cheesy. The drinks and margaritas pizza were great, too! We came for happy hour and our waiter was great! We did feel a little forgotten about at the end of our meal, but it was starting to pick up a ton by that time as it transitioned to dinner time.

A beautiful restaurant with delicious locally themed dishes and a staff that is efficient, friendly, and attentive. The restaurant is comfortably decorated in a modern tropical theme. Tables and booths are available and are spaced so that you're not on top of other visitors. A large bar offers comfortable counter service. Tables are also available on an outside patio. We have never needed to make reservations. However, during busier times of the year and for large groups it would probably be smart to make arrangements. A free parking lot is available adjacent to the restaurant.

Awesome! The food and drinks were very very good. Sydney was our bartender and she couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The drinks were great and unique, including a house made vanilla cream on the espresso martini. Food was outstanding and the unexpected amazing corn bread. Must try if you are in this area or within striking distance.

My husband and I were in Maui last week for our honeymoon and we came to Monkeypod twice during our stay. The first night I got the famous mai tai and it was delicious. I’m not even really a fan of sour/sweet cocktails, but the foam on this one really made it special and more decadent. We tried several items, but we especially loved the sashimi tacos, beef bulgogi tacos, and the gyoza. All were exceptional! If we are ever back in Maui we will definitely come back again!
Kelsey P — Google review
Great foodie spot in Maui for anyone wanting a solid, flavor packed meal! I had many fiends recommend trying Monkeypod on top of the local reputation this place carries. I highly encourage everyone to make a reservation as this place gets booked up very quickly, even on a weekday. For those without a reservation, I heard the hostess tell someone it would be over an hour before getting seated. (Just a heads up!) The food was very good, overall! The entrees in particular. I had the bulgogi beef tacos and my partner ordered the gnocchi. Both were exceptional! The tacos were drizzled in a chile aioli, a fresh chile, and some crunchy veg. Truly one of the best tacos I’ve had in a really long time. At first I thought the dish was small for the price, but they’re packed and I left very full. My mouth still waters thinking about this meal! My partner who orders the gnocchi feels the same way. His dish was rich, filling, and balanced by the addition of veg. He said to me “oh, so this is how gnocchi are supposed to taste!” Once you’ve had these light, fluffy pillows you can’t go back to the rubbery version most restaurants serve. My partner also remarked he enjoyed this dish so much he’d be hard pressed to order or try anything else! However, we both felt the same about the tortilla soup - it was underwhelming. It was too spicy and not balanced by anything. It wasn’t super hot when severed and I’d not order it again. Given how great the entrees were this appetizer should be reconsidered or removed from the menu. The atmosphere is laid back, feels casual, and very loud. The evening we dined inside it was packed and I could barely hear my partner talk. If this bothers you then you walk may want to ask about outdoor dining. Also, due to how busy the night was, the staff tried turning tables over very quickly which lead to small missteps in service. For example, the guys busing the tables wiped food onto the seats and left it there for the next diner to clean or possibly sit on. On a brighter note, when I used the restroom I did witness a staff member wash their hands for a full minute and avoid touching the door handle upon exit! 🎉👏 Love seeing good hygiene practices! The service was great the entire evening. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, described the dishes in great detail, which was very helpful in making our menu selections. Overall, I’d highly recommend making a reservation and making Monkeypod part of your Maui visit! It was easily one of my favorite meals during the whole trip and I’d absolutely go back!
Justin M — Google review
Overall good review. They will tell you to come on in without a reservation but expect a 30 min wait. When you go to buy a drink at the bar while you’re waiting the bartender will abruptly direct you to a line to order a drink which felt strange. I had the fish and chips which was very good. My wife had a pizza which was very limp and wet and wasn’t great but not horrible. Our waiter was outstanding once we got to our table. Their prices are very fair for the food, the drinks are a little pricey. And the Mai Tai is as good as rumored.

Great place! Just the kind of place we were looking for on our honeymoon that wasn’t going to kill us. We went during happy hour and it was so fun. Great service, great drinks and good food! No reservation (on a Monday) and got in after about 5 minute wait.

We had the most lovely sunset dinner here! The girl singing with her guitar was amazing!! We really enjoyed ourselves and had a great meal. We will be back when we come back! Great bar and cocktail service on their deck out front as well. Really pretty place to watch the sunset.
Alyssa A — Google review
We had the pleasure of dining at Merriman’s in Maui during our honeymoon, and it was an unforgettable experience. The food was absolutely amazing — the macadamia nut crusted fish was out of this world, and the freshly baked bread with tomato and oil was such a delicious start to the meal. What really made our experience special, though, was the outstanding service. Our server, Ben, was fantastic — so friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the menu to us. After dinner, we went down to the outdoor area where we met Nolan, the bartender, who was not only great at what he does but also a pleasure to talk with. On our last night in Maui, we returned for late-night drinks and were taken care of by Viola, who was just as wonderful and friendly. Thank you, Merriman’s, for helping make our honeymoon so memorable. We can’t wait to come back!

Everything was perfection! We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and so glad we did. The macadamia crusted catch of the day was excellent and so fresh. The dessert and other plates were so good too. Not to mention the ambiance and the amazing service - our server was so nice, attentive and passionate about the food. Highly recommend!

Spot on for fine dining. We had our kids with us and they were accommodating for children which I appreciate. The service was immaculate. There is a happy hour bar that does not accept reservations, but if you want to dine, I’d recommend reservations. The adults ordered: ahi sashimi (10/10) with fresh wasabi (holy moly) Oysters (off menu) (10/10) Caesar salad (8/10) Macadamia nut crusted fresh catch (7/10) Filet mignon (10/10) My kids ordered steak and pasta and everyone was very happy with their meal. We also got icecream and crème brûlée (off menu) which was immaculate.

What an amazing place! We had never been during our previous visits to Maui, now we'll be sure not to miss it! Absolutely stunning views during an outstanding dinner! Andy, our Server, was fantastic and attentive, yet didn't rush us at all. We had a table on the railing, which is as good as it gets! Before the sunset, all shades were raised so the entire restaurant could experience it! Now the food and drinks, perfect. The Mai Tais were delicious. We had the Sashimi Special for an appetizer which was uber fresh, the Ceviche which was delicious, and then dinner consisted of the Scallop and Clam option, along with the Ono and seared Ahi option. Everything was super flavorful and delicious. Dessert was the bread pudding with Macadamia and carmel... unreal. It's a MUST to end your evening with that! All in all a perfect dinner at one of the best restaurants with one amazing view. Thank you, and we can't wait to visit again!

We had a wonderful dinner at Merrimans on our honeymoon! The views were stunning, service was 10/10, and food was phenomenal. It’s a must-try spot for a romantic dinner. We had the crusted mahi mahi, filet, poke, and quesadillas. The bread pudding was incredible well! They also brought out a lovely dessert to congratulate us. We will be back here soon!

Celebrated our honeymoon in Maui about a month ago and had reserved about 3 months in advance at Merriman’s. One of the best decisions we made for this trip. From the moment we entered to the moment we left, the staff made us feel beyond welcome. They offered us small drinks to toast our honeymoon, the food was AMAZING, our waiter Robert was very knowledgeable and friendly, and they showed a lot of carefulness to our food intolerances/preferences and made sure every detail was well thought of. The hostess Sam made sure were happy and comfortable and even offered to take pictures of us with the sunset which we so much appreciated. My husband and I were so happy that we decided it would be one of the places we’d happily go back to every time we visit Maui. Huge thanks to everyone who participated in making our experience so enjoyable!!

Kimo's Maui is a renowned seafood restaurant with stunning harbor views, offering classic Hawaiian dishes and tropical craft cocktails. The open-air dining experience provides incredible ocean vistas, making it one of the best places to eat in Lahaina. The menu features local seafood, prime rib, and their famous Hula Pie dessert. Visitors can also enjoy the signature Mai Tai cocktail made with a fresh house juice blend at the lanai bar while taking in the beauty of Maui.
The food here was absolutely incredible. Pricey, but fresh and flavoured well! The fish was melt-in-your-mouth good. The hula pie was delicious. The staff was attentive and friendly to us. The view was also nice, overlooking the ocean. Would definitely go back here!

This was one of my fav restaurant in Maui, love the ocean front view. The breeze, the ocean water. It’s located in Lahaina town. We were there before the fire broke out. Not sure if they rebuild it or not. Food was great. Love the view. Can walk around burn some calories after lunch or dinner. Staffs were wonderful.

We had an excellent meal at Kimo’s . We both had fish dishes, which were delicious. We were there for the sunset, which was amazing. The views from the patio deck are terrific. They had two musicians playing for the sunset hour, which was charming! Our server was attentive and informative. I would highly recommend!

Amazing food. Amazing scenery. This place is an absolute must while on the island! We called ahead and made reservations for 4, and we're able to get right in on time. It is right on the beach, so you get a great view of the ocean! Make sure to bring some sunglasses if you go during sunset because that sun gets brutal as it sets in the evening. Best fish and chips I have ever had (honestly). Also, the hula pie is an absolute must-have for dessert. It most definitely lives up to the hype! Parking is best if you go to the free parking at the shopping center just north 2 block. It's an easy walk, and you can stop at a few gift shops along the way.
Tyson S — Google review
Definitely should get the hula pie! I was happy with the cheeseburger and fries. The fish wasn't bad but tasted bland. Enjoyed the beachfront and even looking over the balcony, we found some nails and crabs on the rocks below which the kids loved! The staff was attentive and friendly. They have an interactive packet for the kids to color and then if they play bingo (find things around them) then they got a free Frisbee! It helped to keep them distracted and in their seats.

Sadly, this is one of those restaurants that used to be really good, great food, great service, etc. But now they just hustle you in and hustle you out. It has become so popular because of the amazing ocean and sunset views. I have always enjoyed the prime rib here, but it was so disappointing this time. Very dry and tasteless. The seafood special was good but not outstanding as it should be based on the pricing and the caliber of restaurant they are trying to be. Don't bother showing up without a reservation, the hostess will be rude and make it very clear she will not have room for you. I'm sorry to say, it's not worth a return trip for me.
David B — Google review
The fish tacos are exceptional, maybe the best I've had. Paired with a draft craft beer IPA made it even better. The Kimo's Baked fish with rice and macaroni salad was also excellent. And to top it off the Hula Pie was super yummy too. The hostess who seated us and our server were friendly and professional. Truly a 5 star experience.
Mark G — Google review
This restaurant is situated on the popular Front Street, right on the water. Unfortunately, we got there after sunset and weren’t able to take in the views. At the time, the live vocalist was finishing up, around 8pm. He was very talented and showed real affection for the crowd. Not sure if that was just that night or if he’s always like that, but it was quite endearing. Our server was fun and friendly. The food was fresh. Taste wise, it was ok. Not great, just good, hence the 4 stars. The vibe was the most significant part here. With the waves crashing beside us, the beautiful music, the mix of customers, and outgoing staff, it’s a great spot to visit while on vacation. Try to get there while the sun is still up!

Nestled in the historic town of Lahaina, Lahaina Grill has been a top dining destination for over two decades. This elegant restaurant offers a blend of locally sourced ingredients and international cooking methods to craft innovative New American cuisine. The ambiance is equally impressive, with fine china and crystal adorning the tables, vibrant paintings by renowned artist Jan Kasprzycki gracing the walls, and charming pressed tin ceilings adding to the overall inviting atmosphere.
Lovely vibe, incredible food, and great service! A lot of options are gluten free. I got the seared lion paw scallops, and they were some of the best scallops I’ve ever had! So soft and creamy with a delicious sauce. The truffle oil really made the dish! Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive, and the bartenders had a great time on Halloween.

Very nice experience. The food was incredibly flavorful, the ambiance was classy. We enjoyed the excellent wagyu ravioli with the warm fresh bread. The French onion soup and seafood chowder were great. We split the daily special Opakapaka with amazing risotto. They notified us of the extra charge to split and we were happy with did it when we saw how beautifully it was plated. Every dish was super rich and delicious. A very nice touch when they brought my husband a birthday card, dessert and took our photo. I read reviews of how incredible service was, so I think I was expecting a lot. While our server was friendly, we didn’t find it very attentive. It was busy, so I understand he had his hands full. It was a lovely fine dining experience!

An absolute must-visit fine dining restaurant. If you are in Maui, you must dine here. The atmosphere is inviting and intimate. The staff is knowledgeable of the entire menu and very polite. Their wine list is second to none. They have their own sommelier who procures vino from around the world, so you have a tremendous amount of bottled options ranging from $60 per bottle to over $10K. They have many gluten-free options or can make some options gluten-free with a chefs tweak here or there. The bowl of fish chowder was to die for and is a must-try. Lastly, the owner will stop by and introduce himself and chat with you. He provides the highest level of concierge service, which, besides the amazing food and atmosphere, is why this place consistently ranks among the very, very best in the world and deserves the reputation it has most assuredly earned.

Honestly, best service we have had in a very long time. Thank you Lisa and Eric for being so attentive. The little special touches go a long way in our book. The food matched the service and was spectacular. We were celebrating our anniversary and they took a picture of us, gave us a card, and a desert. My husband is Gluten Free and they paid very special attention to his dietary restrictions. They made sure he could still try the seafood special of the day and dessert. Even the doggy bag hanger was a nice touch.

Excellent dinner. The food was amazing. Everything sounded great so it was hard to decide what to get. The drinks we got were delicious too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The owner of the restaurant even came around and thanked us for dining there. Great experience all around.

Had a wonderful experience. Food was excellent. Service was exceptional! Only thing I didn’t really care for was the fish chowder. We really enjoyed the bufala tomato salad. Although it’s a bit pricey for what you get but it’s worth a try. The Osso Buco tasted amazing and they leave the bone marrow intact. Seared Ahi Tuna was cooked perfectly. The flavor is well balanced.

Absolutely phenomenal food and was one of the highlights of our trip. I went with my fiance for an anniversary dinner and had incredible service and complimentary dessert. Highly recommend the rack of lamb and the steak. The soups were fantastic as well. Make sure to reserve in advance because it's all worth it!

We went there to celebrate both of my parents’ 60th birthday. It was a phenomenal place! From the tequila shrimp to the slow braised boneless short ribs to the mushroom ravioli to the salmon filet, all of it was incredibly delicious and flavorful! They even surprised us with birthday cards and a beautiful dessert. Our server Mike was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu! Overall, we all had a great experience!

Seafood restaurant
Paia Fish Market Restaurant is a popular eatery located at the corner of Hana Hwy. and Baldwin Ave. It's known for its casual nautical theme and focus on delicious seafood, plate lunches, and fish burgers. The restaurant offers about 6 fresh fish varieties daily, prepared in various ways until they run out. Some favorites include blackened Ahi sashimi and Cajun-style Opah burger with wasabi butter and cheese fries.
The food is great and you will love your food. The fish is fresh and reasonably priced for such a popular tourist spot. I ordered the red snapper sandwich and the homemade tartar sauce was so good, I could have drank it! My husband got the fish tacos and he said they were awesome! Mahalo! However, regardless of what time you come, expect to wait in line at least 20 minutes before being able to place your order. Also, with the windows open and no AC, it can get very hot inside the restaurant. Overall I give it 4.5/5 stars. Highly recommend 👌

Tried Paia Fish Market on our way back from Hāna — arrived Sunday around lunchtime and, while the line was long, it moved surprisingly fast. They run a tight operation: after ordering, food was served within 5–6 minutes. We ordered the catch of the day (Mahi Mahi) — Cajun-style and blackened — along with rice, Caesar salad, and fried calamari. The fish was undeniably fresh and seasoned to perfection — flavorful and satisfying. However, considering the portion size and pricing, it felt a bit overpriced. Staff were attentive, but not particularly warm — perhaps due to the rush of tourist traffic. Just a heads up: this isn’t your typical laid-back, no-frills island shack — it’s a fast-moving, high-volume operation. Overall, I’d recommend it for the quality of the fish, just set your expectations accordingly when it comes to vibe and price.

The literal best fish sandwich I've ever had in my entire life. Great menu to choose from. Many options on how you want your fish. Everything was fresh. Homemade tartar sauce. You're gonna wish you could take a bucket of it with you. The staff is SO nice. They will take care of you. Also get the local fruit drink. Get it. It's so good. The place is very comfortable. Great stools that actually fit your butt and very clean. Sit at the window bar and you can people watch. We will be going back, definitely. Update: we went back almost every day of our stay.

Really delicious fresh fish. Gets busy but they serve quickly. Perfect for a quick lunch. They serve each fish a variety of ways and both that we had (blackened and char boiled) were lovely. Big portions too

Considering there aren’t many places where you can get something actually bearable to eat (for a non-American belly), this spot really stands out. Fresh food, real (not frozen) fries, and a surprisingly not-sweet-as-hell iced tea make it absolutely worth a visit in Paia. Especially since Mama’s Fish House is so overhyped it’s impossible to get in. Eat here instead :)

Great place to get fish at very reasonable prices. Went with the mahi-mahi cajun spices and cajun rice. The coleslaw is sooo good, caught me off guard. The fish was super fresh and delicious. There is always a line, but the seating comes up fast. The service is counter and everyone is friendly. Super happy we stopped in here. You should too!

This place was actually recommended by a store guy! Glad we decided to try it. As usual you order at the counter and then find a table to sit. The food was actually bought out fast. Mainly seafood options but they did have chicken dishes. It tasted really good too. Very very generous portions. We had leftovers!! Definitely recommend this place. It does get busy.

Hula Grill Kaanapali is a beachside eatery and bar that offers a relaxed atmosphere with pupu, fish tacos, tropical drinks, and live music. The restaurant features an authentic Hawaiian menu made with local ingredients and freshly caught seafood. Guests can enjoy the outdoor barefoot bar while taking in views of Molokai and Lanai beaches. The renowned Aloha Hour offers drink specials and a pupu menu with options like beef poke lettuce wraps and tandoori roasted shrimp.
Absolutely the best restaurant at Whaler’s Village. Great selection of fish and pork but the lobster is mouth watering delicious. We also had the focaccia bread and the spinach which made a fantastic meal. Great live music as well as a hula dancer on stage. Wonderful ocean views and lovely sunsets. Enjoy!!!

Stopped by Hula Grill Kāʻanapali to catch the sunset and enjoy a drink and a bite. The vibe here is great — a big, lively restaurant that’s clearly very popular on the west shore of Maui. I ordered the ceviche and the fish & chips. The ceviche was fresh and tasty, but it’s a small portion, really just enough for one person. The fish & chips were okay, nothing particularly memorable. Overall, it’s a fun spot to grab a drink and some food while watching the sunset, but don’t come expecting an outstanding dining experience — the atmosphere is the main highlight here.

Service was quick and friendly. Our server was nice and we talked about our tattoos. No wait to get in. We had the kapulu joe which was a sweet pulled pork sandwhich and ahi poke bowl. Both were delicious. Prices were pretty reasonable. It is located at whaler's village so the area is pretty happening during the day. It was pretty relaxed vibe with live music playing cover songs on the ukulele. It is definately a good spot to stop and grab lunch if you are shopping in the village or coming g back from a fishing or snorkeling outing.

This is my fourth visit to Maui and each time I've made a trip to the Hula Grill for great meals either by myself or without others. This time I'm visiting while attending a women's conference close to the Hula Grill. We arrived in Maui on late Friday morning and headed over to the restaurant from the airport. I had a reservation for five, we had a wonderful lunch and lucky us, we were comped a wonderful Alaskan style dessert, delicious. This evening our group had grown to 10 and I booked the 5p time slot before realizing we would need an additional :30 - :45 minutes. So on our lunch break I drove over and spoke to the hostess re a later arrival and she said yes, we might have a short wait but ok. Around 5:15 p I received a text, then a call to confirm and I let them know we were on our way. A group of 5 in each car, our first group arrived about 5:30p and the others in our party were following. Our waiter Matty, appeared and took our order for drinks, then expressed concern about the other 5 in our group. His attitude became more edgy as the minutes went by, after :15 minutes 4 more arrived and Matty appeared relieved. Our remaining member arrived and full on service finally was underway. However the waiter attitude situation never really improved, such a disappointment. He needs to be consistent in his behavior as a server. Our final bill was over $1000 including tax and tip. The food was great, the atmosphere was excellent especially since most were first time diners @Hula Grill they were very happy. Maybe Matty was having an off-night because as we were taking photos he offered to take our group shots.

Great atmosphere! A little loud , but there is a lot going on! Service was good , order a filet mignon which was good , the mashed potatoes were just okay , shrimp was perfect ! Overall we had a great experience! Probably would have order the fish next time !

I tried everything on the table so here’s my extensive opinion 😂 Drinks: go for the mango mezcal cocktail, it’s the best. The lychee martini was very sweet so if you don’t like sweet go for something else! Very solid Caesar salad 👌 like a remarkably good Caesar salad. Seafood potstickers were better than the pork ones, both good but if you’re deciding between them go with the seafood ones. Pork was shredded just fyi! The salmon sashimi was melt in your mouth. Ahi steak was fantastic, as was the pork shank. Didn’t love the macadamia nut mahi mahi. Great atmosphere and always a good time!

As you see from one of my pictures there’s half cheeseburger, our waitress know what we was planning we picked one entree and one appetizer to share, I personally can’t eat much so I don’t like the feeling of overeating. So she asked us if we wanted the burger to be cuts in half and of course I said yes if that’s possible. I told our waitress that I don’t want cheese on the burger but it’s served with cheese but luckily I can scraped out pretty good from my burger, I’m not allergic to it I just don’t like the taste of the cheese. The Hula burger was really tasty.. we both really liked it, it was perfect! Coconut calamari was so so, not really a fan of it. Then we tried the Hula Pie, the Hula Pie was amazing! Our waitress was Amber F, at first impression she seems cold and a bit unfriendly but at the halfway through the end on our late lunch I found her she’s a sweetheart! Turns out I really happy and like her personality 🤙🏼

Overall: 2.5 Subpar, overpriced food. Solid service and atmosphere. Went twice since it was very close to where we were staying and that was plenty. Won't be back on our visit; too many other better places. Food: 2 stars. During our first visit, we had the lobster tails and broccolini, then had the hula pie. Lobster was good. Not a fan of the Hawaiian-style rice but was pretty standard. Broccolini had too much lemon flavor. Hula pie was 3.5 stars but not big on sweets, just had to try. In the 2nd visit, we tried the Thai chicken flatbread. It was very sweet and the chicken tasted like canned chicken with some fish flavor. Maybe fish was cooked along with canned chicken... not sure, but we sent back. Had cheeseburger with Caesar salad. Salad was actually very good. The crunchy stuff on top and their Caesar dressing was unique and very tasty. Burger tasted like spam and was very subpar. Drinks: 2 stars. Weak cocktails. Below average flavor. OK beer selection- lavaman was solid; one of Maui Brewing's best beers. Service: 4 stars. Waitress was on top of things. Didn't wait too long for anything. She was likeable and respectful. When we returned pizza in 2nd visit, they were very nice and understanding. Atmosphere: 4 stars. Live music was great first night: soothing classic songs, good voice and vibe; had a hula dancer. Music in 2nd visit was ok. Sunset over beach was very nice. They lit tiki torches around sunset also. Great vibe. Had bar and barefoot sand area. Didn't sit in main dining area. Not a lot of TVs to watch sports outside but not sure about in main dining area. Price: 2 stars. Overpriced even a bit for Hawaii.

Restaurant
Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop is a charming counter-serve cafe located in Lahaina, offering farm-fresh American cuisine and delectable handmade baked goods. The restaurant boasts a cozy atmosphere inspired by Hawaiian plantations, where guests can indulge in a variety of savory and sweet dishes. From fresh tuna salad sandwiches to house-baked breads and locally sourced ingredients, the menu showcases an array of 'grandma comfort food' favorites.
JUST GO! It is worth it! Don’t be scared of how busy it might be. The line moves fast and wow that banana cream pie I will have dreams of!!! Loved my club sandwich and the Ruben! All of the pies were good but I’m a sucker for banana cream. Food trucks are next store if you want pizza or something else.
Hartley L — Google review
Stopped by Leoda’s Pie Shop and tried a few of their mini pies: banana cream, strawberry no-bake cheesecake, and the lemon/lime pie. The banana cream pie is definitely a must-try really flavorful banana base and great crust. My only note is that it had way too much cream on top. If they balanced that out a bit more, it would’ve been perfect. The strawberry cheesecake was a miss for me. It was mostly just whipped cream and glaze, with barely any cheesecake texture or flavor. It looked nice but tasted overly sweet and didn’t have much depth. Wouldn’t get that one again. The lime pie was just too sour for my taste. If you don’t like very tart desserts, this one probably isn’t for you but that’s more of a personal preference. I’d definitely come back to try the coconut pie next time, and I’d 100% get the banana cream again maybe just scrape off some of that cream!

Absolutely Divine Apple Crumble Pie I just had a slice of the apple crumble pie, and I can confidently say this is one of the best desserts I've ever tasted! The flavor profile is an absolute masterclass in balance. The filling is perfectly sweet, with a deep, caramelized apple flavor that is utterly satisfying. But what elevates this pie is the unexpected, delightful touch of a slight saltiness that cuts through the sweetness just enough to keep it from being cloying, enhancing the fruit's natural sugars. And then there's the bright, zesty hint of lemon. It provides a refreshing tang that brightens the entire experience, making each bite feel vibrant and fresh. The crumble topping deserves a special mention, too—it's wonderfully buttery, crisp, and crunchy, providing a fantastic textural contrast to the soft, tender apple slices beneath. If you're looking for an apple pie that goes beyond the ordinary, offering a complex and utterly delicious blend of sweet, salty, and lemony flavors, look no further. Highly, highly recommend!

Great food, great atmosphere and great service. We noticed this place on the way to our hotel in Lahaina and so glad we stopped. Such a cool little unassuming place with great food. Under the long canopies of Monkey pod trees this place is definitely worth stopping for lunch and desert. Get there earlier if you want the full selection of pies, they’ll sell out by the afternoon so get there an hour or two after they open for their full menu.

Great local place to grab lunch or a quick dinner. Food was fantastic! The cucumber/avocado sandwich was huge. It was stacked with other veggies also. I took half to my accomodation with me for later. The pineapple coleslaw was also wonderful. The pies are good also.

While traveling down the Honoapiilani Highway from the South side of the Island to Napili Bay, we decided to make a stop at the local store for a cold drink and a sweet treat at the adjacent pie shop. Having visited Maui over 35 times, I can’t believe I have never stopped here having driven by at least 100 times. And boy am I glad I finally did! Welcome to Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop. Tucked in right along the main coastal highway, in the Lahaina Area, this place is a hidden Gem! They have loads of food offerings and amazing pies, fresh baked bread and even banana bread. There is a nice long table with stools for outdoor seating as well as a large number of tables for seating indoors. We luckily landed in between waves of customers and were able to pop right up to the register without delay. We were greeted by super friendly staff, ready to take our order and answer any questions we had. At the ordering station you can clearly see into the clean kitchen, offering a nice glimpse of the delicious food they are preparing and staging to bring to the tables. Today was pie day since we wanted to take something to go to enjoy while we were on the beach. They have a wide variety of pies and even a no bake strawberry pie that another guest reported to us, was super delicious. If you’re looking for a nice spot to enjoy a lunch or dinner, or just a sweet treat along your way around the island, I highly recommend a visit to Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop. I promise you won’t regret it. Thank you for taking the time to read my review and hope you have a lovely time on the island of Maui. Mahalo and Happy Eating! 🤙👍

It has to be for the pies. He got a turkey sandwich I got a club, no fries bc they were an additional $8, he got a bottled coke and I got a glass of unsweet tea and it was $45. I understand Hawaii prices but .....we went flatbread company and got two small pizzas a lemonade and a brownie with two scoops of ice cream, that was enough for us to split, for $56. Way better value and food. The sandwiches were mostly bread. No flavor. I wish I took a pic of what was left on plate. Pile of crust and hard tomato. I gave up and took my lettuce and made a wrap with the meat. I am still three days later pissed about that place. and again it isn't about the price bc we don't care to spend money on food I mean we went to cowboy star and loved it but it was good and it had value. Maybe everyone should start stopping at the food trucks around it and stop letting them get by on what they used to be. Thank goodness I don't get the fries bc even though I am still pissed I might be over it by Jan bad fries would have kept me mad until April.

American restaurant
Mala Ocean Tavern is a charming beachfront restaurant that offers a blend of Pacific Rim and Mediterranean cuisine along with an extensive selection of wines. Chef Mark Ellman, a pioneer of the Hawaii Regional Cuisine movement, presents a menu featuring dishes such as ahi bruschetta, wok-fried Hawaiian fish, and vegan mushroom Bolognese pasta made with local shiitakes. The restaurant also serves signature cocktails like the Spa Day and the LBC.
What a pleasant surprise find near the old Mala Wharf. Apparently this place somehow survived the Lahaina fire. We came at around 3 pm, so only Happy Hour menu was available, which wasn’t bad at all. We had the taro burger (vegetarian), butter lettuce and deep fried calamari. The taro burger came with Swiss cheese and tasted very good (yes, even without any meat in it) and the fries were crispy and seasoned very well. The salad was really fresh and the dressing was on the sweet side, but acceptable. The calamari was excellent paired with artichoke tartar sauce. The service was excellent from the entire team and our server, China, was friendly and helpful. Now, the seating area was the highlight as the waves were splashing our table while we dine. An added bonus, sea turtle would come to the rocky shore below restaurant m’a windows to munch on the algae. We saw a couple of young ones while we were there. Parking spaces were limited rat the restaurant, but there’s a huge lot across the street where Safeway and the ABC Store are located. The drinks were good as well.

Mala Ocean Tavern completely exceeded our expectations! The food and service were absolutely top-notch. I had the filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My fiancé ordered the scallops, and they were perfectly seared and bursting with flavor. To top it all off, we finished with the affogato, which was the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal. The atmosphere and ocean views made the experience even more special. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an incredible dining experience in Maui!

My partner and I have been to most restaurants in and around Lahaina, and we were so happy to have found Mala! We’re both gluten-free and total foodies, and it’s rare to find a place that delivers on both flavor and service — but Mala absolutely did. Our server Thomas was the BEST — friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. He knew all the specials, kept our glasses full, and made sure our table was always clean without hovering. The food was outstanding, and Thomas went above and beyond by helping us secure Mother’s Day / birthday reservations seven months in advance! He even introduced us to Sergio, the manager, who took amazing care of us as well. Everything about our experience was perfect — the food, the service, the vibe. If you’re anywhere near Lahaina, do yourself a favor and pull up to Mala for a fantastic meal and some of the best service you’ll find anywhere.

Came here on a Saturday night , day after Halloween, place was half full. I’ve heard a lot about Mala from family & friends , knew i was in for a treat. My wife, 25 weeks pregnant , eats plant based and there were several options for her. Our server, Carlos, was soft spoken but confident & gave us great pointers - he’s someone you just know you can trust. I got the ceviche w the sweet potato Chips , my wife got the Brussel sprouts to start, both were just fantastic! The brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection & the ceviche i got was in this rich coconut broth that i ended up drinking. Really refined and confident flavors. For our main dish, my wife got the vegan curry & i was stuck between the pork shank (Carlos said it falls off the bone) and the pan seared mahi mahi (which i ended up getting). While the portion size of the mahi mahi was on the smaller side, the actual dish was huge — Yukon potatoes and a great ginger sauce with mushrooms and carrots - just really full flavor. Id like to note that i got their version of a Mai tai as well as a gin drink that were some of the best cocktails I had during our trip. Pricing was fair and the food quality was just superb - couple that with Carlos service and the incredible waterfront views — you got yourself a fantastic meal . Would RUN back. Also, their sambal was SPICY!

Enjoyed our ocean front breakfast. The pork belly eggs Benedict was delicious but it had a little too much fat. The classic eggs Benedict was good. Big portion so come hungry. French toast was good with a twist of purple yam gellato. Aloha!

Would not come back here. We had dinner here last night for my husband’s birthday, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Our server was wonderful—warm, attentive, and accommodating—and our table by the ocean was beautiful. However, the food quality and flavor fell far short of expectations, especially for a restaurant so highly rated. It honestly ruined what was meant to be a special evening; we didn’t even feel like ordering dessert to celebrate. For starters, we ordered the Ube bread and the Poisson Cru. The bread arrived cold in the middle, suggesting it had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. The Poisson Cru lacked the salt, lime, and chili flavor described on the menu—it tasted mostly like fish in plain coconut milk. We then ordered the Caesar salad and the Surf & Turf. The salad was decent, though overly dressed. The Surf & Turf, however, was the most disappointing dish of the night. The filet mignon had no seasoning or flavor, the octopus was bland, and the potatoes on the side resembled unseasoned breakfast potatoes rather than a dinner accompaniment. Given the restaurant’s reputation and glowing reviews, we expected a refined, flavorful dining experience. Unfortunately, the dishes lacked balance and care in execution. The service and setting were excellent, but the food was simply not up to par—especially for a special occasion.

🌊 Pure Magic at Mala Ocean Tavern, Maui 🌴 I’m still in awe of the experience we had at Mala Ocean Tavern — it was absolute perfection from start to finish. I went for the surf and turf (and couldn’t resist adding scallops 😋), while my wife had the green curry with seafood, and every bite was pure heaven. What made it even more unforgettable was the ocean view, just steps away — the sound of the waves, the warm breeze, and that Maui sunset painting the sky. 🌅 The staff went above and beyond — so kind, attentive, and full of great recommendations that made the meal even more special. It’s one of those rare moments where everything just clicks — incredible food, an amazing team, and the beauty of nature all around you. Feeling so grateful to have experienced it. 💙

Like the name suggests, this place is immediately next to the ocean. The sprays up on the windows often. It's great to watch during dinner. Located in a plantation-style building, the restaurant is known for its contemporary atmosphere and innovative dishes. The menu features a variety of options, including panko-crusted ahi sashimi, the famous Kapalua Butterfly roll, shrimp dynamite, crab ramen, and Asian shrimp cake.
Great place for good sushi and seafood. The Grilled Hawaiian Ahi and Shrimp Cake plate was unbelievable and to drink, the Kai Tai was perfect. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful with the menu regarding what our kids can/can't eat. Even talked to the chef to cater to our kids food needs.

Came here last night as recommended by a friend’s friend & it did not disappoint! We made a reservation a couple hours beforehand but I’m not sure if it was really needed. Our server, Sonny, was the best! For small plates ordered the panko crusted ahi as recommended by Sonny, & also the lobster crab ravioli which were both delicious. For rolls we did the Hawaiian, scallop & cucumber, spicy hamachi, takah, & unagi rolls which were all tasty. The prices seemed reasonable & weren’t significantly more than what I would pay for sushi at home. I would definitely come again & recommend to friends & family. (For pictures, I didn’t take one of the lobster crab ravioli or I think the unagi roll)

Sansei is more than just a sushi spot—it’s a Hawaiian culinary experience that masterfully fuses Japanese tradition with bold Pacific Rim creativity. Whether you're dining in Honolulu, Waikoloa, Kapalua, or Kihei, expect a lively atmosphere, exceptional service, and a menu that surprises and delights. The food? Fresh, flavorful, and adventurous. The Asian Rock Shrimp Cake is a must-try appetizer: crispy on the outside, tender inside, and rich in umami. The Mango Crab Salad Hand Roll is a tropical dream—sweet, creamy, and perfectly balanced. And the Panko-Crusted Ahi? A standout dish with a golden crunch that gives way to silky, seared tuna. The vibe is upbeat yet casual, perfect for everything from romantic dates to group dinners. The staff are warm and attentive, adding a touch of aloha to every interaction. Sansei manages to be both a local favorite and a tourist treasure. It’s the kind of place you remember long after the vacation ends—and the kind of food you wish you could bring home with you. Rating: 9/10 – A flavor-packed must-visit

Our only regret is we discovered this place the 2nd to last night of our trip but we did make it two nights in a row! If you’re staying at the Ritz, do yourself a favor and make the 7 minute walk here for dinner. Having come back from my first trip to Japan 2 months ago, my standards for sushi were high. However, the melt in your mouth butterfish nigiri along with a tuna crunch roll, was the perfect marriage of US style rolls and Japanese fresh fish. Service was phenomenal both times we were there. We hope to come back soon!
Cate K — Google review
I’m doing another sushi review—with the disclaimer that I usually stick to sushi rolls—but this place is an absolute must-visit. It’s like a culinary theme park for sushi lovers. The rolls and dishes coming out of the kitchen are visually stunning, packed with flavor, and made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The staff is outstanding—knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Even during the off-season, the restaurant drew a steady crowd, which says a lot about its reputation. I can only imagine how packed it gets during peak season. If you plan to visit, I highly recommend making a reservation to secure a seat or at least reduce your wait time. —- 4 days later. Unfortunately, our second visit was a letdown. While the menu still features some great options, it was clear a different chef was behind the counter this time. The sushi rolls were underwhelming—more like small samples than full rolls. To be fair, I’m not a huge sushi fan and usually stick to a familiar category, but even by those standards, these just didn’t measure up.

Wow!! You absolutely must try the butterfish. It is hands down one of the best fish dishes I have ever had. The sauce was perfection and it just melts in your mouth. All of the food was excellent, we ordered so much! Nothing disappointed. Us and we had a great time. We went on Monday and showed up around 4:45 to a big line of people waiting for the happy hour. Nestled on the picturesque slopes of Haleakala in Maui's Upcountry region, Hali'imaile General Store is a renowned culinary destination offering a modern twist on Hawaiian regional cuisine. Originally a plantation store dating back to 1925, it was transformed into a restaurant in 1988 by Chef Bev Gannon and has since gained international acclaim. The restaurant prides itself on its farm-to-table dining experience, featuring locally sourced ingredients in an idyllic Upcountry setting.
This place was really good. The burger was absolutely delicious and the fries were crispy. The iced tea was really good as well. Amazing service too! I've come here a number of times over the years with family. It was awesome to visit again.

Loved this place. Great stop if you're waiting for a tour of the Maui Gold Plantation (and make sure to ask for a coupon there and you'll get a discount). Loved the ahi with udon noodles, and the pineapple upside down cake was delicious, but the pineapple burger (with perfectly cooked fries) was incredible.

I recently visited Hali’i Maile General Store, where we ordered the loco moco and the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. For dessert, we chose the lilikoi crème brûlée, and I must say, the food was delicious! The loco moco's gravy was flavorful, and the chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked not over fried. The lilikoi crème brûlée was the perfect sweet ending to our meal. Our server, Mai, was fabulous, attentive and very welcoming. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking out Hali’i Maile General Store.

Quite possibly the best meal we’ve had on Maui! The sashimi salad is a must and we really enjoyed the pork wontons. For mains, my husband had the fried chicken sandwich and I had the local fish curry (best I’ve had). We both ordered Baja margaritas — the parsley was such a surprisingly delicious touch!!! We’ve tried a lot of restaurants on Maui, and this one is a gem! The staff were incredibly nice; the setting and vibes were perfect; and the food very high quality. We will certainly come back any time we are on the island. Note: We made a reservation, but I don’t think it’s required - they were busy though (for obvious reasons!) so if you want to ensure you get a table, would recommend reserving. Also, they close 2:30-4:30 between lunch and dinner (Google doesn’t list that).

I can't recommend this place enough. We had a little hiccups but the assistant manager called us to ask us to return. We usually dont but she was extremely sweet on the phone some took the chance. We are extremely glad we did. I ordered the macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi and my husband ordered the Ribeye. But food we have ever eaten. My husband is very picky and for him to recommend is beyond the 5 stars we can give. He never eats green beans and he loved those also. (I need your secret on those so I can make them now at home. Lol.) It was my birthday so we ordered pineapple upside down cake and oh my taste buds.... AMAZING!! I wish we could take this place back with us. The assistant manager was absolutely amazing. She is the sweetest and cares for her customers. I highly recommend this place beyond anything else on the island.

We had the most amazing dinner here! The team went above and beyond for us — they stayed open late and treated us with such kindness and warmth. A huge thank you to the chefs for the incredible meal, to Matt our server for his attentive and friendly service, and to Michelle the hostess for welcoming us so graciously. You all made our trip even more memorable. We can’t wait to come back and celebrate an anniversary here one day!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had one of the best meals of our entire trip to Hawaiʻi at Haliʻimaile General Store. The restaurant itself is charming, tucked right next to a pineapple plantation and gin distillery, with a cozy, welcoming vibe that immediately sets the tone. We started with a seasonal cocktail and shared the Chinese chicken salad, which was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. For entrées, my spouse ordered the mahi mahi fish and chips and I had the coconut fish curry, which might have been the single best dish I ate in Hawaiʻi. Rich, layered, and absolutely delicious. Every bite was a standout. Our server, Jennifer, gave us excellent service from start to finish, striking the perfect balance of friendly and professional. The whole experience felt thoughtful and elevated without being pretentious. This was such an unexpected highlight of our time in Maui. If you’re visiting the island, make the drive; you’ll be glad you did. Highly recommend!

If you want great fresh local island food with a pan Pacific twist you must stop by for dinner one night. What used to be a drive out to the middle of the pineapple fields halfway up to Makawao has now turned into a hip and fun location with still some old Maui upcountry charm. Our server, Hezekiah was a local charm. Professional, funny and just excellent. His recommendations were spot on and fantastic, like the Lillikoi Mai Tai. So different and refreshing . The coconut seafood curry was flavorful with a combination of fresh local ahi and shrimp with Kula veggies galore in a beautiful curry. Since it was my wife’s birthday Hezekiah also recommended the incredible and decadent pineapple upside down cake, hot out of the oven with Roselani ice cream. It really topped off the evening. Great service and fantastic food in a historic building in a pineapple field.it made for a special dinner. The real deal. Plan on having dinner there soon. Like now!

Japanese restaurant
Morimoto Maui offers beachfront dining featuring a variety of stylish Japanese creations by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. The restaurant showcases a blend of Japanese and Western-inspired cuisine, highlighting the bountiful produce of Hawaii. Situated at the Andaz Maui resort, the modern architecture takes inspiration from traditional Japanese beach houses, providing an open and airy ambiance with stunning views of the beach and ocean. In addition to sushi, the menu also features dishes prepared with fresh local ingredients.
My husband and I recently dined at Morimoto Restaurant in Hawaii and had an absolutely exceptional experience, thanks to our server and bar manager, Michael. From the moment we were seated, Michael's expertise and genuine passion for sushi and sake truly elevated our visit. He took the time to explain the nuances of each dish, recommended perfect sake pairings, and shared insights that made our meal not just delicious, but educational as well. The food itself was outstanding—each dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Dessert was the perfect ending, perfectly crafted and incredibly delicious. Michael’s friendly demeanor, professionalism, and deep knowledge made our dining experience unforgettable. It's rare to encounter someone who is not only skilled but genuinely passionate about what they do. If you're visiting Morimoto in Hawaii, definitely ask for Michael—you won't be disappointed. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed their appetizers more than entrees. Ribs, carpaccio, and gyoza were all delicious. For main, we ordered spicy hotate roll, duck fried rice, and kushiyaki set. Kushiyaki set was a miss for us - didn’t like that super sweet sauce was smothered on every single one of the skewers and vegetables. Because of that everything just tasted sweet with no other flavors. The black pan that was used for serving those skewers was for presentation only, it didn’t keep the food warm at all. Ended the night with ube cheesecake, enjoyed that too. Given the reviews and the brand, I expected more.

Great ambiance. The staff was kind and friendly [0] Unfortunately, food quality was very disappointing. So their sticky bbq was great. However, 1. their sushi tasted a bit stale. Their Sake ( salmon ) and Sabe ( makarel ) in parituclar tasted like they were left in the sun for too long and just turned a bit bad. 2. Their cocktail, moritale(?), tasted like they forgot to add ingredients. It tasted straight up vodka with a hint of sake. This was our babymoon dinner, and didnt want to ruin it, so I didnt make any complaints. But sushi was too disappointing. [0] There was a small mishap for my order of 20 nigiri x 2 maki set. They mistakenly thought I ordered 10 nigiri set. When they brought it out, I told them about their original order and they brought another 10 nigiri set.

Appetizers were not bad but rather ordinary - we had the poke tacos, fish carpaccio, and rock shrimp tempura. The 14 oz wagyu steak was way too salty that we could not even finish. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes but everything was pretty underwhelming. Also, I was surprised that the appetizer plates were not switched out with dinner plates before the main dish, given that it was an upscale restaurant. The sunset views were nice.
Claire K — Google review
We were a bit late and they were very accommodating. Greeted by very kind staff and seated on the patio to enjoy the ocean breeze. Mike was our waiter. Described everything and was so professional. Very low key vibe. Started with sticky ribs and cocktails. There was a minor issue with one of our orders and it was quickly and smoothly resolved. When we return to Maui we will certainly eat here again!
Larry M — Google review
Food is generally wonderful like all other Morimoto locations we've been to. Ribs are always a fan favorite. Steak was delicious. The duck rice and shishito peppers were bland in flavor. Desert was great. Drinks were pricey and lacked punch, which should never be the case for such a classy place. Especially after dropping over $180 per person.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant! The view of the ocean is amazing, especially at sunset. And the food is beyond praise! We tried the chef's choice and everything was delicious and exquisite.

Holy Smokes! What an amazing meal/night! Everything was spot on. From the drinks to the main course to dessert. This place hit all the right notes and left us wanting more. Definitely get the shrimp tempura - the biggest reason I wanted to come back when we visited Maui again. But the short rib appitizer was spectacular and a MUST. I’m telling you! The Yellowtail is heaven, the Surf and Turf was second to none (the lobster was easily my most favorite I’ve ever had). The Cheesecake was to die for! And the malasadas and cream sauce were like clouds of magic. And AARON was our fantastic server. He was like a friendly next door neighbor. What a friendly, informative, and attentive waiter. What a great experience!

The Plantation House is a Hawaiian eatery located on the Plantation Golf Course, offering stunning views from the 19th hole and serving elegant island fare. The restaurant is renowned for its panoramic sunset vistas overlooking the lush fairways of the golf course and the neighboring islands of Molokai. Executive Chef Jojo Vasquez has curated menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that showcase locally sourced and inspired dishes, along with signature menu items.
Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. Fries were delicious. Excellent espresso martini. Banana bread was so soft and flavorful. Fruit plate was wonderfully presented and all the fruit was perfectly ripe. Wonderful views from everywhere in the restaurant. The price of the food was actually not terrible for the amount and quality of everything that was presented. I was very pleasantly surprised with everything about this restaurant. Highly recommend!!!

We had such a phenomenal experience at Plantation House for our honeymoon. The food, atmosphere and service were top tier. Lauren was such an attentive and pleasant server. She had great recommendations and made sure our night was special. The chef that curated this menu has a gift. Thank you for such an amazing night, one of the best meals we have had. Highly recommend the Lavender Whale (i substituted vodka for the gin it was amazing), scallops with added the lobster tail, my husband had the two fish special, then we both had dessert, creme brulee and cheesecake. Everything was spectacular! Not to mention the beautiful views! If you got to only one restaurant during your stay, go here.

We had a wonderful first experience tonight at The Plantation House. We were seated promptly at our reserved time. The decor is so clean and airy and comfortable. There really isn't a bad seat in the restaurant. Our server was very warm and helpful, and she checked on us often. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. The seafood was all fresh, and the lamb chops were decadently tender and juicy. Parking was valet only.

All of the food that we had was great! All of the servers were very nice and respectful. We had our reservations around 4:30pm and not many people were there when we first arrived but it got very busy as the night went on. This restaurant os a perfect place to watch the sunset and have a dinner. The price of the food is on the higher side but all of the food was fantastic. We would recommend going if you are in the area!

Plantation House has one of the greatest sunset views! It is so hard to beat and the food is phenomenal! Get a view looking out towards the sunset, and pro tip: you can walk downstairs and get an unobstructed view on the golf course. All the food was top notch. Don’t forget to the dessert.

Such a wonderful restaurant to eat and watch the sunset. We had salads, calamari, and several fish dishes. All of them were delicious. The service was great and the views were stunning. It’s a great place to sit and enjoy an evening.

Whilst staying locally the wife and I drove up to watch the sunset with cocktail in hand. We didn't have dinner reservations, but there is a bar area with a restricted view. The actual golf course was closed (water problems), but the restaurant was quite full and the food looked good. The front of house was friendly and helpful, but the barman was a little surly. We would probably dine there if we went back to Maui, but I think the restaurant closes at 8pm so book early and hit the circa 6pm sunset!

What a great place for a very nice dinner. Escargot was rich and yummy. Poke with the avocado wasabi was delicious. I had the duo fish plate with butter fish and a sea bass. That was a nice combo. Fiance had the filet mignon, pretty good cut of beef. Creme Brulee was excellent. Great golf course and ocean views. Hope to play next time.

Down the Hatch Maui is a casual seafood eatery located in The Wharf Shopping Center on Maui. Despite its unassuming location, it has gained popularity and was even featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives. The restaurant offers a lively atmosphere with an open-air courtyard patio and serves cocktails, shave ice, and tasty fried dishes. Happy hour at Down the Hatch Maui is particularly popular from 3 to 7 p.m.
Amazing food in a chill, casual atmosphere. Come at Happy Hour and dinner for live music. Order at the counter and the wait staff will bring your food to you. The sign on the stairs to enter the restaurant lets you know how long the wait will be for a table. All dishes have fun presentation- This is a great spot to hit for happy hour! The POG Foam Mai Tai, Lava Lava Shrimp, and the Lobster & Crab Mac & Cheese were the best! Parking note: Park on the street for free if you can, or in a side parking lot (for a fee)

Seriously not worth the hype & wait!! This restaurant came well recommended in many social media platforms and reviews and SO….we went & were very excited but was very disappointed. Restaurant is mostly open air & most shaded areas were full that day. Despite telling my host that we would like a more shaded seating area away from the sun, he left us at a seat sun tanning under the sun when there were still some sheltered seats inside the building. We had to move ourselves to find a better shaded seat. We tried the Lobster & Crab Stuffed Grilled Cheese that everybody was raving about & I don’t understand why it has such good reviews. The bread was good, creamy sauce was okay but where is the lobster & crab? I can barely see or taste it! Fish & Chips was fresh but the batter was so poorly made, they were thick and soft. Chips were okay but we were not there for the chips. Lastly, we had the Crispy Coconut Shrimp which was nothing to shout about. Shrimp was fresh but small & it doesn't have the fragrant coconut crispy batter that I have tasted in other places & it was over-powered by the sweet Thai chili & mango salsa. Overall, Down the Hatch didn’t deliver & I will gladly bring my money elsewhere with better service & food anytime. Don't waste your time!

Our group had lunch at Down the Hatch - Maui one afternoon after doing a submarine tour in the area. We saw an order of the Lobster & Crab Stuffed Grilled Cheese going to anther table and knew we had to try it.. and we're so glad we did! It was so very tasty! We also ordered the shrimp tacos, calamari, loaded fries and bacon brussel sprouts.. everything was delicious! Even though it was a hot afternoon, we found a table in the shade overlooking the koi fish pond.. and had the best time!

Times Visited: 1 I came for the fish tacos and they did not disappoint! Crispy, with some really excellent 'melt in your mouth' fish, topped with a bunch of awesome ingredients made for really delightful fish tacos. Probably the best I've ever had! Though there is a part of me that thinks the ingredient ratio is a bit off... Tacos kept leaking ingredients when I would take a bite. But overall, excellent. I am mildly disappointed with the chips and salsa... Chips aren't much to write home about, they're quite hard and while they might be made fresh, they definitely weren't hot when they came to me so that magic is kind of lost. The salsa is also not much to write home about, and desperately needs a change to make the flavor a bit more BOLD. It's such a weak flavor it's hard to notice what it's even made of. But I'm glad it's included with the meal, and would rather have free weak chips and salsa rather than no free side. The Coconut Crystal Shrimp appetizer though? Heavenly PERFECTION. They could not have made a more perfect dish. Sweet, sour, fresh, fruity, tangy, crunchy... Excellent. No notes on that! The staff were helpful, and I liked how hands off the experience was, just ordering from the front (and thank goodness, you can get your own unlimited soda refills), and while the atmosphere was maybe a notch or two too loud, I like how it was a local musician and I'm overall happy with the experience.

I went there fully expecting a tourist trap. NOT! Phenomenal food, very friendly servers, helpful order taker, great vibes, pleasant live music, prompt service. Prices were right and did I say the food was awesome! A “must do” in Maui. Lava lava shrimp with rice and veggies is fantastic! Tacos were fresh and delicious and so was the sampler. I would encourage them to umph-up their drinks though. Cocktails were weak and left a lot to be desired. Stick to beer and standard stuff and your experience will be perfect!

The line of people waiting says it all 😋 The food was great great. We asked direction to the guy at the information booth and gave us a free lava lava shrimp cocktail ticket 🎟 and that lava shrimp was onolicious. The foods are all so delicious. Price is just right. Service is great as they put us in a lower table because we have a small kid with us. Our server was 👌 awesome.

We tried Coconuts based on a recommendation from a server at another restaurant. Went here because Paia Fish Market was too packed. Coconuts was full, too, but we got in much faster. Super friendly people, but good lord it was so hot in there. The AC they had was either off or. It working well. Once the sun went down, it cooled down a bit. Food was great. I had the pork tacos and my fish had the fish tacos. Both were delicious, and honestly, a little hard to eat as they were piled so high. Atmosphere was good. TVs were easily visible around the restaurant.

A Hidden Culinary Gem Don't let the unassuming location fool you—this spot is a must-try. Recommended by a restaurateur friend of my wife's, it completely won me over, despite my usual aversion to counter-service on vacation. From the moment we walked in, Peter, the owner/manager, greeted us with such warmth and hospitality that it set the tone for an amazing meal. I initially thought it was solely a fish taco joint, but I couldn't have been more wrong. While their fish tacos are indeed spectacular, they offer so much more. The coconut shrimp is some of the best we've ever had, especially when paired with the Thai-chili pineapple sauce. Seriously, ask for two sides of that sauce—it's incredible! My wife's fish tacos were a revelation. Each order comes with two tacos, but here's the genius part: each taco has an extra white corn tortilla. This means you can either keep all that delicious filling in one super-stuffed taco or easily split it into two separate ones. Her tacos were loaded with perfectly grilled fish, cheese, tomato salsa, and coconut milk, all finished with a vibrant mango salsa. She opted to tackle hers as a single, epic taco, and every bite was pure bliss. The fish was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. Her only minor critique was that the slaw could have been a bit finer and slightly less abundant, but even as someone not usually keen on slaw, she was thrilled we made the trip. I went for the Mahi Mahi Fish & Chips, and it was equally impressive. The Mahi Mahi was cooked to perfection, with a light, crispy crust that wasn't greasy at all. It came with a delicious tartar sauce, a generous portion of fries, and a side of coconut milk coleslaw. This place is definitely getting a strong recommendation to all our friends visiting the area, and we're already hoping to squeeze in another visit before heading back to Texas.

We ended up going here twice. The first time was we had reservations for dinner and they ended up getting us an early. It was the best steak I have ever had highly recommend. They gave us a sweet card celebrating our belated honeymoon. The service was outstanding. everybody was so kind and loving the music was incredible and to watch the sunset was absolutely spectacular. We went back a few days later and had breakfast the banana macadamia nut pancakes were incredible. My husband had a burrito and said it was amazing. It looked good too, but most importantly, I loved our servers. They did such a wonderful job. I was just blown away. Here’s a few pictures of those experiences. I love this place and cannot wait to go back. Her server was absolutely extraordinary. Make sure this is one of your stops along the way it’s worth going and I will go every single time I go back.

Great atmosphere. Definitely loud, but the tiki torch lighting is lovely and restful, and the service (our waiter was Michael) is excellent. Food was pretty good. My husband loved his seafood risotto (plenty of scallops, a small lobster tail, and one big shrimp). My macadamia crusted fish was a bit dry, but the rice, veg, and butter caper sauce were tasty. The portion was on the smaller side for mine, although the risotto was plentiful. Delicious hula pie and coffee. Glad we ate here!

Beautiful ocean view and some pretty good grub. Started with Calamari and Macadamia Humas. Calamari was thick sticks, with an excellent aioli. Humas included carrots zucchini and pita bread, excellent. Bacon cheese burger with avocado was chared nicely with some crunchy beer battered fries. Little woman had Maui Caesar salad with sunflower seeds, kale, mixed greens and a light dressing (a little underwhelming on the dressing flavor). Our dining guest had the fish tacos (2 in soft tortilla) & said they were excellent. Make a reservation as they are busy during peak eating times.

Delicious, fresh seafood at the cost you would expect for a seafood restaurant on a Maui resort. Service was very efficient and nice. Bar area has 5 tables and bar seating all first come first serve otherwise reservations are needed for the rest of the seating. Live music on a Sunday at 3P. Nestled in the heart of Kihei, Cafe O'Lei Kihei is a delightful dining destination that captures the essence of Hawaiian hospitality. Whether you're indulging in their famous blackened mahi-mahi or enjoying a refreshing cocktail after a day of adventure, this casual eatery provides the perfect backdrop for relaxation.
We went to Cafe O’Lei to celebrate our daughter’s birthday while on vacation in Maui and we absolutely loved it! The food was truly outstanding, the lobster risotto was one of the best meals I’ve had anywhere. The service was wonderful, and the atmosphere was beautiful. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, and we had a lovely evening. Highly recommend!

Cafe O’Lei in Kihei is such a gem! We stopped in for lunch and left completely satisfied. I ordered the steak tip sandwich, and let me tell you — the fries were absolute perfection. Crispy, golden, and somehow stayed crunchy until the very last bite (seriously, how do they do that?). The sandwich itself was solid — juicy steak tips, melty cheese, and a horseradish aioli that added just the right amount of zing. I only wish it had a little more heat, but that’s just the spice-lover in me talking. The bread had a slightly bitter aftertaste, but it was still hearty enough to hold everything together without falling apart — points for that. My partner went for the fish of the day, which was fresh, perfectly cooked, and had that just-caught Hawaiian flavor you can’t fake. The sides were just as thoughtfully prepared, and everything on the plate felt fresh and well-balanced. On top of that, the service was genuinely amazing — warm, friendly, and attentive without hovering. The place is spotless, too, which always makes me feel like the kitchen is running just as smoothly as the dining room. If you’re in Kihei and looking for a spot with great food, super clean vibes, and service that makes you feel taken care of, this is a must-try. Pro tip: get the steak tip sandwich and a side of fries, and don’t be afraid to ask for extra aioli — you’ll thank me later.

Make a reservation! This is a highly popular restaurant any night of the week and it’s worth it to plan ahead. Everyone comes here for the Maui Onion Soup En Croute and they are right to do so. Cooked in a wood fire oven and delivered fresh and hot to your table. Delicious drinks made expertly, friendly and professional staff, chill and beautiful atmosphere. We ended up staying for a full meal instead of our original plan for soup and a cocktail. Everything was delectable. Make sure to make time to catch the sunset on Kihei beach before dinner.

This restaurant is located in the center Kihei and is an excellent restaurant for local dishes and flavors. It has a casual atmosphere with comfortable tables. The staff is friendly and very efficient. The food is excellent, on par with popular fine dining restaurants. It's known for its mahi mahi. Anything you order will be delicious. Large windows surround the Hawaiian themed dining room. A full bar and counter anchor the center of the dining room.

It is a truly extraordinary experience where you get to know your food: especially as a newbie on Maui! Funny and knowledgeable waiter - a true slam poet! Mahi Mahi fish blackened or as fish and chips are tasty with perfect batter and crunchy French fries. But when it is on the menu, you have to have the Ono fish with Cocos curry on rice. And try Hale Kapena and Maui wowie! And when you still have place in your happy belly try the deserts! We will be back!! Slam poetry of the day: „the ocean is our cooler, the mountains are our ice house“.

It was our last day in Maui and we decided to have dinner in here. After couple of the bad experiences with the food and mostly customer service we didn’t expect anything miraculous, but everything starting with the wonderful hostess, bartender and ending with the marvellous food and cocktails - was gorgeous!!!Thank you for a wonderful last day on Maui. We really enjoyed each bite and sip!

Fantastic!!! We wandered off the resorts to try something local and this place was in the top favorites! The outside first appears to be less than top quality but once you make it upstairs and into the restaurant ans try the food and drinks, you'll want to go back. Our sever was on top of his game and we can't find one thing to complain about. We'll make this a must go to spot everytime we visit maui.

We made reservations for a party of four and naively requested a table with an ocean view. There’s a thin sliver of an ocean view behind the high rise resorts located across the street. The service was rushed. If they had not tried to rush us…. we would have been able to enjoy ourselves. Overall we had less than an hour for dinner. The cocktails were alright. Our appetizers were delicious. If the food had been hot (not room temperature) it would have been good. Overall we were disappointed.

Nestled in the vibrant Shops at Wailea, Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Bar & Store is a delightful destination that perfectly blends island-inspired dining with a casual shopping experience. This popular eatery showcases an array of dishes crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, making it a must-visit for food lovers. Indulge in favorites like Coconut Crusted Crab Cakes or Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi while sipping on refreshing tropical cocktails such as the Rum Babalu or classic Mai Tai.
Most amazing happy hour we've been to in Maui. The mahi fish tacos are delicious. Poki stack was amazing. If you like scallops, the scallop sliders are amazing. Cucumber smash cocktail was perfect. Our waitress Cori was AMAZING! Bubbly personality and so good at recommending different dishes. Overall we had an amazing experience. Would definitely recommend if your near Grand Wailea.

We went for Happy Hour and as always the food was spectacular! Happy Hour is our favorite time to go because we get to try a larger variety of things, and still respect our budget. Our service was really not great, the waiter kept taking everyone's plates with food still on it without asking if anyone was finished. I had to get my son's meal replaced because he took half his lunch. We didn't have a long wait but it was also because we had reservations for our group.

Had a wonderful experience with Ethan, as my waiter. He was attentive but didn't hover. The Spaghetti squash entree with shrimp, was fresh, delicious and so unique from most menus. And then I spotted my favorite dessert when I visit Maui, but hadn't located so far this visit. The pineapple creme brulee was beautiful to look at and absolutely delicious. So thankful for my spontaneous lunch at Tommy Bahamas. Thanks Ethan for the friendly, personal service that made my lunch even nicer.

Our first time at a Tommy Bahama during our stay in Wailea. Located within the Shops at Wailea, in walking distance from major resorts. Plenty of parking in the free parking lot. Fully handicap accessible via ramps and/or elevator. Friendly and attentive front desk staff and ushers. We were seated immediately, had a reservation but the restaurant wasn't very busy at dinner time. Observation: unable to book through Open Table, but no issue to get a reservation when calling in. The lady looked up my profile from my cell#. Strange business practice... Nice table indoors, next to open tall doors to the terrace/patio. Good music in the background, noise level was rather low, easy to talk. The waitress gave us time to choose our orders. Excellent cocktails, shared a good starter followed by steaks. Almost perfectly cooked, slight too much for my taste (my filet was more medium than medium rare). Good quality and flavors. Great maybe not excellent though. Service speed seemed rushed and not well timed between starter and mains. Steaks were consequently warm but not hot anymore. I certainly get the american approach of a typical fast dinner, nevertheless this is a major vacation destination and the place wasn't too busy. Minus two stars for the service overall. Recommended with limits, open to sample another Tommy Bahama location.

Adam our server was absolutely a delight to get to know and help us with recommendations. We loved every bite of food. We got to know each other a little bit and mentioned it was our last day on the island, we were here for an anniversary. As kind and generous and welcoming as possible, our server Adam treated us with a yummy dessert to celebrate us! What wonderful hospitality and Experience! We couldn’t be more happy with our dinner at Tommy’s.

The food was delicious! The prices, even during happy hour, were a little ridiculous. The location wasn’t great. Not much of a view and squished in the corner of a high end shopping mall with terrible parking. Saying the service was Sub Par doesn’t quite cover it. My kids waited over an hour to get their food. Tons of other food was brought to the table and we had to ask specifically for the them to bring out our kids food because they were starving. Then while other food was being brought out, half of both of my kids meals was bussed from the table without asking if we wanted to take the very expensive food home with us. My kids weren’t even done eating. We complained about the food being taken, and it happened again to other appetizers that people were still eating, but again didn’t realize we’re being taken until they were gone. The drinks were ok, but again way too expensive, even during happy hour. Our waiter was not very friendly and would not have gotten a tip if it were not included due to the size of our group.

This was a nice little place. A tad difficult to find. Service was excellent. Food was okay. I had the crab cakes which were a little too fishy for my taste. I had the pineapple brûlée and it was delicious!

Wonderfully curated menu and great cocktails. The atmosphere was high end casual as per normal Tommy Bahama style. Deserts were great. My only issue was that they seemed understaffed on wait staff and overstaffed on buss people.

Paia Fishmarket Front Street Restaurant is a delightful and laid-back dining spot located just a short stroll from Lahaina Beach. This casual eatery offers an inviting atmosphere where families can enjoy fresh fish, burgers, and tasty snacks on their charming terrace. The menu caters to all ages, featuring kid-friendly options like shrimp and quesadillas alongside delicious seafood dishes that highlight the local catch.
I just love this place overall. It’s located right across the famous banyan tree in Lahaina. It’s very easy to get a table don’t be scared with the people waiting in the line. The service is pretty easy they have limited menu easy to choose grab a table and food is delivered. The fish or shrimp is super fresh everything we tried there were amazing. Do try Paia sauce. This is a place where you get good fresh quality food for a low price. I would recommend anyone who loves fish or shrimp to give a try to any of their locations

As Google says this place is a laid-back serving GREAT fish, i mean really great. Location is good cuz it's right on Front Street so after dinner you can walk down and get some ice cream or shaved ice for dessert but back to the restaurant. Amazing fresh fish. We started with the fried calamari which was super delicious. Tinder nicely battered and a great start to a great dinner I had the blackened Ono. Mind blowing experience. Spiced nicely and Ono was full of flavor. Fish tacos were very delicious, they did not short you on the amount of fish that was in there.

Had heard such good things we had to try it out and we were not disappointed. Ahi Tuna prepared Cajun style with potatoes and rice was a winner! Huge portion of Tuna..was expecting a portion about half as big. Potatoes were seasoned and tasty treats. The salmon was also very good when paired with the rice. Kids quesadilla was decent but they have no sour cream and the salsa was lacking. It's a small place with limited seating, some liquor and beer is available. Coke products are featured. It is not fancy but is very good.

Super reasonably priced with excellent service. Was very busy and got food quickly. Food was a big under seasoned but for the cost and how busy great time. The secret sauce was sweet and slightly spicy. Fun times.
Steven J — Google review
The fish and chips were very well seasoned and fried super well. Had a ton of flavor and crisp. The chicken pasta was in a sea of butter, but can you ask for more out of an Alfredo dish?! The ahi burger was great and not overcooked at all. The downside of the meal were the fish tacos which felt like a big salad and lacked some flavor. This was a top meal for us at Maui but the Hana ranch was still the best yet.
Dan S — Google review
So fresh, their magic sauce is amazing, the staff is super friendly and basically as soon as you take a sit the dishes are served. What is more, the prices are very reasonable for Hawaii. We've been here twice during our 3-days stay in Lahaina, that should be enough of a recommendation.
Dorota A — Google review
Delicious food. My husband had the chicken teriyaki with fries and I had the red snapper Cajun style with red potatoes. We also ordered calamari and a salad. The mai tais were good too.
Kayla R — Google review
We found this little quaint place by accident after paying to park nearby. Front Street has limited parking so pay lots are really the only way to go. We stopped in for lunch after seeing a large crowd here. Wow. We were not disappointed at all! I had the fish and chips which were lightly coated with a firm batter. My wife had the seafood pasta that was amazing. It was full of various seafood items such as fish, shrimp, and scallops. The sauce was rich and tasty. We also got a bowl of the New England Clam Chowder which contained a lot of clams and potato chunks. It was really good and with the $5 bowl price. We also tried the onion rings which are homemade. The fries are frozen but we’re good. This is a great little spot if you have a craving for seafood. They also have tacos and fajitas on the menu.

NICKS FISHMARKET is an upscale seafood restaurant located in the Fairmont Kealani Maui, offering a lush garden setting and a seafood-driven menu. The restaurant features a curved granite bar, glass wine display, and Mediterranean-inspired details that exude elegance. However, the interior decor with ocean-themed fabric upholstery and shell-shaped lighting fixtures may appear slightly outdated. One of the prominent attractions is an 800-gallon fish tank that adds to the ambiance.
The restaurant is set in a beautiful hotel garden right next to a small, peaceful beach. I recommend coming around sunset, it’s the perfect time to enjoy the view. The cocktails and food were amazing, especially the Nick’s Sunset, a tropical fruit juice and rum blend. The seafood tower was also great, with a nice variety of fresh seafood. I wouldn’t recommend the scallops, they were overly salty. The strawberries Panzin dessert didn’t stand out in flavor, but it was creative and visually impressive, perfect for a date night.

Nick's Fish Restaurant provided the perfect backdrop for our anniversary celebration. We were so happy with our experience! The atmosphere was lovely, and we were seated at a fantastic table. The service was outstanding; our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel truly special throughout the evening. And the food! Everything we ordered was fresh, expertly prepared, and delicious. The 'Diver Scallop & Shrimp Scampi' and 'Moroccan Spiced Salmon' were a highlight. Not to forget the Crème Brûlée! Overall, we had an awesome anniversary night thanks to the wonderful staff, great food, and beautiful setting. A five-star dining experience we wholeheartedly recommend for any special occasion.

Excellent seafood and even the Filet Mignon was great. The steak had great flavor and was very tender. Staff had no issues substituting side dishes. The atmosphere is great and most seats have a view of the pool area and ocean.
Peter E — Google review
I would say I’m a little disappointed in this place based on how much the bill was. The lamb chops were absolutely phenomenal, however, the filet was a little disappointing. The filet was a bit dry and simply nothing special. Also, the service was a bit too slow for my tastes. It was around 15 mins after we were seated that our server came over to greet us and there was a noticeable wait for food and drinks to arrive at the table. It’s not our servers fault as it seemed that he was running around all night with all of his different tables. But my last impression of this place was their macadamia nut brownie sunday and let me tell you that it made it all worth it!

My husband and I came to Nick's twice on our Trip to Maui. Everything we ordered was great - Mahi Mahi, waygu beef, crab cakes, potstickers. The first night, our server forgot us a few times, but the second time we went, our server was amazing. She took the time to chat with us and recommended some great spots on the Island (I think her name was Kiara). Would recommend!

Nestled within the stunning Maui Tropical Plantation, The Mill House Restaurant + Bar offers a sophisticated dining experience that celebrates New American cuisine with a farm-to-table philosophy. Under the expert guidance of Executive Chef Jeff Scheer, this culinary gem crafts menus that change twice daily, showcasing the freshest local produce. Diners can indulge in an array of delightful vegetarian dishes like root vegetables paired with carrot puree or Chickpea Panisse complemented by corn puree and harissa.
I LOVED The Mill House!!! My family of 5 had lunch here and wish we could have gone back a second time to try more on their menu. The food was all local farm-to-table fresh, flavorful and delicious. The VIEWS while dining on their outdoor patio was INCREDIBLE. Our server Jamie - was friendly, genuine and passionate about what she does. She truly made our visit very special and we tried everything she recommended and loved it all. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who travels to Maui. Amazing experience all around!

Lovely atmosphere, delicious fresh food, warm service. You can taste the freshness of vegetables in salad. Some dishes are a little on the salty side, even the fresh bread, but generally very tasty and delicious. Definitely try to sit in the plantation side instead of in the theater. A little pricey for $$ ($115 for lunch for 4), but worth it.

Absolutely fantastic. We only got the small bites and chef's plates to share, but we got a lot! The surroundings and decor are also lovely. We'd hiked the sliding sands trail earlier that day and it was good to sit and enjoy the greenery with the food. It was refreshing to find a place that did such good fresh vegetarian food. Neither my husband nor I are veggie. Our server was Daniel and he was very amiable and provided a lot of insight and tips. Would definitely go back if we'd had more time to try the larger dishes.

Such a beautiful place to dine and enjoy the company of my sweetheart ❤ The setting is as amazingly beautiful on a different level, as Mamas Fish House. We ordered one dish each from Bite, Small Plate, Pasta and Entree, all were fabulously delicious, we savored every morsel! Portions are small, so take your time to taste each flavorful bite. We didn't have time to tour the plantation but will definitely return. The grounds are impeccable and quirky fun, there's plentiful parking and immaculately clean restrooms! We made lunch reservations, but it wasn't necessary, they weren't busy at all, but, I would highly recommend reservations for dinner! This is another must do while on Maui.

Had dinner here for my sister in laws wedding reception. The scenery is very pleasant and made for some nice pictures! The food I had was very good and my wife liked her food a lot as well. We all felt that the server was a bit pushy with us on ordering more food or drinks and was a bit of a turn off. I had said I was good with just ice water and got asked a couple times if I wanted a drink, seemed to be frustrated with people when they didn't want to look at a desert menu because we were all so stuffed. I'm not sure if this is restaurant policy or what but just seemed like it could be cut back a bit.
Matt B — Google review
Outstanding location and exquisite food. Look for outdoor seating by the lagoon for the best experience. The menu changes daily, and everything is cooked to perfection. I found the sauces to be a little heavy for the fish items - since the fish themselves are so fresh and tasty that they don’t need a sauce really. Also, you must try any vegetable dish, as they are mostly from the estate’s gardens, and so so tasty. The restaurant offers kama’aina discount. Updated: so we were back two years later and the food is still exquisite. Service was a little slow this time, maybe due to a busy Friday evening, but overall a great experience.
Konstantinos R — Google review
Lovely views of the valley and mountains. Large patio with shade. The indoor seating is spacious with large doors that open to the patio. The staff are very friendly and make good recommendations. The ahi nachos, prime rib dip, and hamachi Kama are delicious. The cocktails are also fantastic—interesting flavor profiles and very well balanced. Highly recommend.
Kaley K — Google review
The restaurant had a fascinating decor with historical features added into the layout of the dining area. The ambiance was enhanced with the open air setting. The entrees and appetizers were equally beautiful in preparation, however the favor profiles did not match the presentation. The entrees tasted good, but did not have the wow quality that was present in every other aspect of the restaurant.

Nestled in the heart of Kihei, Coconuts Fish Cafe is a laid-back eatery that has become a beloved destination for seafood lovers. This charming spot offers an array of fresh Hawaiian fish served in tacos, sandwiches, plates, and even pasta. The menu boasts local favorites like Ahi poke and coconut shrimp as appetizers, while the main courses feature mouthwatering options such as their renowned seven-layer fish tacos filled with mahi-mahi and ono.
Great place to grab takeout tacos and fries for dinner at Charlie Young Beach. The fries were fantastic, small McDonald's size but so much more flavorful... Nice little dusting of paprika. Pork tacos were tasty. Wish there was a smaller size available. Large indoor seating area, but also a popular spot to grab takeout. Located on the second floor, up a set of stairs. Large shared free parking lot.

Wow, this place has so many reviews, thanks mainly to the tourist folk. ATMOSPHERE: The always-packed eatery is located in the Azeka Shopping Center next to Peggy Sue's. All indoor & outdoor seating on cool surfboard-shaped tables are communal with posted signs encouraging the sharing of personal bubble space. Thankfully we did takeout as I love my space, especially when eating lol. MENU: Seafood apps, salads, chowder, tacos, sandwiches, rice plates, fish/shrimp & chips, pasta. FOOD: Shrimp & Chips My request of doing half shrimp and half fish with chips was denied. The seven pieces of breaded shrimp were on the smallish side, possibly even frozen, but deep fried perfectly and not oily, with a generous portion of shoestring fries, a cup of coleslaw, and cocktail sauce & ketchup for dipping. Very mainstream but good. SERVICE: Friendly and helpful gal was taking orders. Our takeout order took about 20 minutes as they were pumping even at 2 in the afternoon. A friendly guy brought our package out to us, double checked the order, and thanked us. Very good service! OVERALL: The words "coconut" and "fish" definitely riles up the tourist folk, LOL.

Wanted to try the « Famous Fish tacos » : it was the best I ever ate ! We ate at the restaurant but people seems to order and pick up more then sit in even though there are many tables :you pay first and you get your cutlery and wait for your order .The employee who takes the order is very friendly . We tried also their Poké ahi and salmon ( choice of shoyu, spicy or teriyaki ) and there were good .

The best fish tacos. If you are in Kihei, you have to try this place. We ordered fish tacos and shrimp tacos. Both of them are delicious, but the shrimp tacos are perfect.

I wasn’t planning on leaving a review until I noticed another review mentioning wasabi in the coleslaw. Our server assured us multiple times that no wasabi was used in anything we ordered — but there definitely was! It was very obvious once we tasted it. I feel a bit better now after reading Ruth’s review confirming the same thing. Not bad food or service overall, but it seems like there’s a lack of awareness about some of the ingredients being used, which could be a concern for anyone with allergies or sensitivities.

Nestled within the stunning Grand Wailea Resort, Humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa is a captivating beachfront eatery that immerses guests in a Polynesian paradise. This enchanting restaurant features a charming thatched roof and overlooks a serene saltwater lagoon teeming with vibrant tropical fish. Named after Hawaii's beloved state fish, it offers diners the unique experience of selecting their own lobster from the lagoon or indulging in an array of delectable Hawaiian and Polynesian meat and seafood dishes.
We visited this restaurant twice for dinner during our week stay & it was wonderful! The staff were extremely kind from the hostesses to every interaction throughout our dinner. The views were immaculate! Our server DIANE was lovely, so lovely we requested her the second time we visited! She was very knowledgeable of the menu, and was extremely attentive. Her suggestions were excellent & we had an amazing experience both times. 100/10!!

My fiancé made a reservation here after our proposal and the service and food here was impeccable. The hostesses were soo excited for us and had me show off the ring and take pictures. They were so sweet. They provided free prosecco and a small amuse-Bouche for us to try as well. Overall the servers were very attentive and gave us recommendations according to what we liked and also what they liked. We had a table side view of the water which was nice. Our food was very good. I believe I had bass and my fiancé had filet mignon. We also ordered Brussel sprouts which were very good. Overall, everybody here at humuhumunukunukuapua’a made our special day even more memorable

We had an incredible dinner at Humuhumunukunukuāpua‘a! The service was outstanding — honestly some of the best we’ve ever experienced anywhere. Our server was friendly, attentive, and had our drinks out almost immediately. We started with the crab cakes, which were absolutely delicious — crisp on the outside, tender inside, and full of flavor. For our entrées, we had the salmon and the catch of the day, both beautifully prepared and perfectly cooked. My wife felt the dishes were a little on the salty side, but that was really the only minor complaint from an otherwise fantastic meal. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with excellent service, great food, and a beautiful setting. Highly recommend.

This food was fantastic. The only draw back was the price. It was so incredibly expensive that it caught us off gaurd but it was so wonderful. I got the scallops which were cooked to perfection. My husband got the pork which was dynamite. Had the prices been a little more affordable, we likely wouldv'e tried the steak. The ambiance was beautiful and our server, Michael, was wonderful.

A review of breakfast only** This restaurant is the self described best place for breakfast here at the Waldorf Astoria and the food selection and atmosphere does not disappoint. Being a part of Hilton, the hostess knew we were on our honeymoon and congratulated us, definitely a nice touch. As she walked us to our table, she explained what foods were where, as this buffet style breakfast was all over the restaurant. It is very clear that the space was not designed for buffet style. Where things took an odd turn was our server, who seemed quite flustered and pulled in many directions. The one speciality drink we ordered was an iced Chai latte, which was incorrectly made hot. We let our server know that it was wrong but there was no need to fix it (not a huge deal for us), but what was odd was the hot Chai came in the same wine style glass which the water came in. Therefore, my wife needed to use a napkin to hold the glass as it was too hot. Finally, you are definitely paying resort prices by going here. Breakfast is a wopping $62 per person, not including the Chai latte, with a tip on top. Needless to say, those with hilton gold or diamond status will not have their food and beverage credit get very far here.
Nathan C — Google review
The last time I dined here was when the lobster & crab fishing baskets were in use (2000's?). You'll still see it on display in the middle of the restaurant just past the bar on your way to the back. You could choose your crustacean from the pool below and it'd be hoisted up to you before heading for death row. ATMOSPHERE: It's still a beautiful open air restaurant, with high thatched roofs, warm lighting & woods, surrounded by a manmade lagoon and gorgeous sunset views. Be sure to check out the renovated bar with a built-in salt water aquarium countertop. I'd hate to be the one to clean that thing! Low top chair back cushions were uncomfortably thin. RESERVATIONS: Recommended as they're busy especially for dinner. PARKING: Valet is your only option and the restaurant is far from the lobby, so plan accordingly. MENU: American surf & turf with an extensive wine list. BEVERAGE: One Island Wish Vodka-based cocktail that's mildly sweet, a bit tart and sported some heat. FOOD: Kona Crab Cake (1 pc.) Honestly, THE best crab cake I've ever eaten. Simplicity at its best with a breaded crust, loads of finely shredded crab meat and no fillers. Tasted even better with the included crunchy greens. Everyone at the table agreed, highly recommended! But at $32 for a small-sized piece... Daily Catch Swordfish was the offering. Adequately-sized tender & moist filet, nicely seasoned. You won't miss having a starch as the chunky chickpeas mixed into the creamy sauce provided for a great low carb alternative. Some steamed or sautéed veggies would've been a nice accompaniment rather than the topping of slivered bell pepper. DESSERT: Espresso Martini Sometimes, you just gotta drink your dessert. Delish, textbook recipe. SERVICE: We had a small hiccup with our party's count but it was remedied. Male server went above & beyond when explaining the menu, with good overall service. We finished up around 10pm with multiple servers congregating at a nearby table, talking amongst themselves with obvious glances at us to leave. Even the overhead music stopped. Funny thing is, there was still another party dining in another corner of the restaurant as we left. Hopefully they didn't get an evening-ruining send off as we did. OVERALL: An otherwise 5-star experience was humbled by inflated pricing and the unprofessional feeling of being rushed out by staff members at the end of our dinner.

The kids steak was the best part. Everything seemed over thought or not quite thought through enough. The scallops which are already sweet were paired with a sweet sauce and pea shoots which are sweet too and the textural contrast wasn't there with the potato medallion underneath it. The petite seafood tower was supposed to come with ceviche but it came with poke instead and again there was no textual contrast between the items on the petite seafood tower.

Great place to celebrate a birthday. Wonderful meal, wonderful service, and a great time. All the dished were delicious. Thank you for an amazing dinner! 🤗

We loved our server here. Not only was he great, but the entire staff seemed awesome and made the experience fabulous. We got two different streaks, and the winner was definitely the filet mignon. Both were good and had some pretty good sides. However, I did think it was a little pricey for what we got. The cheesecake was creamy and a perfect blend of ube and vanilla cheesecake.
Megan W — Google review
Roy's Kaanapali served us hostility masked by politeness. Arriving 15 minutes early for our reservation, we found the waiting area sparse but adequate for us all to sit once another party was seated. The restroom was clean and stocked. However, the hostess—a dismissive blonde woman with a bun—tried seating us, including our minor children, in the bar. When we requested another table, she curtly insisted none were available by the window. After clarifying that we hadn’t requested one by a window, she led us to a table near the kitchen—a few feet from a four-top table by the window sitting empty. That set the tone for the night. Service remained unwelcoming and rude. Our waiter, Michael, was mostly absent and brusque when present, cutting us off mid-sentence. Only one server, Sarah, showed any warmth and responded to us when we requested something. The food was mostly good but flawed. The mai tais came garnished with limes that were brown. My husband enjoyed his steak, though they were out of the lobster tail he wanted to add to it. My grilled au and shrimp duo arrived lukewarm, the fish dried out. Our daughter found her honey mustard short rib just "okay," while our son's ribeye was well-prepared but the plate presentation was clunky and lazy. The calamari was a hit, but the Caesar salad wasn’t worth the price, nor was the beet salad, which seemed to feature canned, diced beets. Service was slow—our entrées took over 20 minutes. Empty dishes and glasses gathered on the table because Michael was too busy standing at the pass to bother checking on us. In the open kitchen, cooks lacked proper equipment like a salamander, resorting to makeshift methods like holding food up to the broiler, leading to unevenly/improperly cooked dishes like my au. The final straw? Watching a party of two get seated at the once "unavailable" window table. We paid over $400 for average food and inhospitable service, spending the meal pointing out disparities in how we were treated. Lesson learned: we won’t return and I don't recommend it.

Just what you'd expect of the legendary Ray's. We've been to Poipu Grill and several on the mainland as well, and this location did not disappoint. We asked the server for a recommendation which he provided, but when we said, "we are thinking about the cioppino," he immediately responded, "get the cioppino." Cocktails - delicious (expensive $28/each!) Asian ribs appetizer - delicious Cioppino - delicious

The food was outstanding! Great selection to choose from as well. Our server was very attentive and super fun! Great place for a date night for sure!

Every single thing about Roy’s is perfection. The customer service is top notch, the timing of each dish is excellent, and above all, the flavors are immaculate. Each and every bite of all the dishes we ordered were wiped clean- way too difficult to even choose what to order because it all sounded amazing.

Ray’s is typical of most golf course restaurants no matter where you travel! Nice atmosphere, good service and good “pub” food. These places are designed to cater to golfers who just finished their round and are looking for a quick bite to eat and some drinks. It’s great to have dinner at these restaurants because you can see the beautiful golf courses while you eat! The food at Rays was very good. The fish was fresh as were the vegetables. The cocktails were very good & reasonably priced. While the atmosphere is nice, it is not a “fancy” restaurant atmosphere. It’s a golf clubhouse which is fine!

Birthday dinner bombed. No pastry chef meant no souffle or upside down cake available. Food was not great. 2 out of six orders sent back for under cooked salmon. 2 out of six orders sent back because augratain potatoes were terribly oversalted. Server was very attentive and embarressed for the poor quality. I have been coming here for years every time we come to one of the Islands that have a Roy's. Terribly dissapointing experience for my 63rd Birthday. My daughter and her husband said they will never come back and made reservations the following night at Honu two nights later to make up for our terrible experience at Roys. Honu's was 100% better environment, better food, overall better experience.

Matteo's Osteria is a charming trattoria known for its modern Italian cuisine and extensive wine selection. Since 2013, chef Matteo Mistura has been delighting guests with scratch-made pastas, fresh fish dishes, and an impressive wine room. The restaurant offers a globally influenced wine list featuring bottles from Italy and California to complement the local catch. With over 60 wines by the glass, it boasts one of the largest selections on Maui.
A Hidden Gem in Maui! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a cozy, upscale vibe that still feels relaxed. I ordered the lasagna and was completely blown away, easily one of the best I’ve ever had. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly layered with just the right balance of cheese, sauce, and pasta. You can really tell it’s made from scratch with high-quality ingredients and a lot of care. The service was also top-notch, friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, I highly recommend stopping by Matteo’s. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in town!

Last night we enjoyed another outstanding dinner at Matteo’s in Wailea! This place never disappoints. The service from Suki was excellent. He was warm and attentive. I began with my favorite blood orange Italian soda and Suki recommended to add fresh mint, which was a delightful touch. We always start with our favorite meatball appetizer, it’s the perfect way to begin the meal. The Cesar salad was fresh and full of flavor. Chicken parm is our go-to entrée, and we love that you can swap out the pasta to suit your taste (a small detail that makes a big difference!). We also ordered our other favorite dish, the baked lasagna. Warning, this dish comes out piping hot and packed with rich, comforting flavors, it’s definitely a dish to enjoy at a mindful pace. Consistently delicious food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere make Matteo’s a favorite we return to again and again!

Came to make a visit to Matteo Osterio after seeing a clip of Guy Fieri eating here. Ordered Fettuccine frutti di mare squid ink pasta with crab, clams, shrimp, with tomato, garlic, white wine, lobster veloute sauce. Ordered Bolognese which is made with tagliatelle pasta with maui co beef and Italian sausage with tomato and Parmigiano-Reggiano. The fettucine frutti di mare and the bolognese were probably some of the best I have ever had. I know they are known for the Bolognese and lasagna but I highly recommend trying the fettucine frutti di mare if you make a visit here. Also ordered the tiramisu for dessert. The mascarpone cream was a little too sweet for my liking but overall it was a great and to a phenomenal dinner. Reservations are highly recommended. Parking is free and adequate spots located in plaza parking lot.

Brought the whole family out for disappointing, bland pasta. We tried the squid ink pasta, bolognese, and the chicken parm, but the best tasting entree was butter noodles… This was overpriced and a major misstep during our Maui vacation. The chicken was overcooked. The seafood was under-seasoned. The appetizers were fine, but not exceptional. The wait staff and venue are lovely. We just didn’t enjoy any of the food.

This place is a gem! The food was wonderful and if you’re gluten free they offer pasta options. We went on a girls trip and were all impressed! The eggplant appetizer was to die for but everything was soooo good. I am a foodie and I highly recommend!

We had the chance to visit Matteo’s while visiting Maui and it was by far our favorite restaurant of our trip! They have authentic Italian cuisine with a great variety of dishes ranging from pastas to seafood to chicken entrees. They are very celiac aware and offer great gluten free options including gluten free bread and most of their dishes can be made gluten free. Service was great and food came out very fast and was delicious. They have a wonderful wine selection as well! Beautiful atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor dining areas. Definitely recommended this place!

Oh, how the years keep piling on. My gang took me out for my birthday dinner here. It was the first time for all of us and definitely won't be our last. LOCATION: They're within the Wailea Town Center, a small strip mall located behind the new Residence Inn Marriott. Parking at night was plentiful due to the other businesses being closed. ATMOSPHERE: They've done a great job with transforming the space into a very warm, inviting and chic eatery. Seating is a mix of in and out, with a small bar, all-glass wine "cellar" and open-view kitchen. MENU: Italian fare including apps, salads, pastas, pizzas, fish, steak, kids menu, happy hour. BEVERAGE: Sicilian Rose This Ketel One martini included prosecco which gave it a nice fizz and sweetened with a white peach nectar. Absolutely delish. So much so, I had four of them!? Or was it five? I wasn't driving so I didn't care, lol! FOOD: House Bread My dislike for focaccia is slowly fading as I loved this. Instead of butter, it came with a healthier hummus spread. Caesar Salad The chunky-cut Romaine leaves were fresh and well-coated in a creamy-tangy caesar dressing and sprinkled with shaved parmesan. Very good version. Bruschetta Al Tonno Because we were a party of four, we added an additional bruschetta so we could each have one. The raw ahi was utmost fresh and teamed with a mix of fresh tomatoes, salty capers, garlic and basil. Crunchy, savory, sweet; the best of three worlds. Bruschetta slices were a bit small but the wonderful flavors made up for their petiteness. Filetto I was torn between the bolognese pasta and this dish but after seeing pics of this, I was sold due to its mouth-watering dark brown sauce. The tenderloin was amazingly tender. I asked for medium rare but it came out more medium; no biggie. Flavor and moisture were strengths of this dish as it was doused in a savory, dark brown demi mushroom sauce. Total heaven. Stewed cherry tomatoes added a nice acidic balance. I failed to comprehend that the lumpy (a positive to me) mashed potatoes were infused with chunks of gorgonzola cheese, a variety I'm not fond of due to its boldness, and was the only downfall. DESSERT: I was treated to a decadent tiramisu in a cup, topped with a sole birthday candle. So sweet of them! One of my friends opted for the affogato which looked divine and must've been as it was devoured in a snap! SERVICE: Absolutely professional, friendly and took great care of us the entire night. Thank you! OVERALL: I'm being more austere with my five star ratings but Matteo's truly deserves it.

This was an unforgettable dinner experience, from service to food- everything was of superior quality. Our special occasion, honeymoon, was acknowledged by all staff members which I thought was so sweet. While very expensive, dinner here is a lovely experience. Our server, I believe his name was Shane, was top notch. The food was so good, our steaks were cooked perfectly, and the drinks were absolutely phenomenal. We will always remember our dinner here! Thank you!

My wife and I stayed at the Four Seasons on our honeymoon and were fortunate enough to have a few fantastic restaurants on property, including Duo. We came in later in the night without any reservations and they were very accommodating seating us very quickly. Our server Beau was awesome he was giving us the low down on the menu, what’s popular for food and drink selections. My wife and I got the King Crab legs, Curry, crab cake, oysters, filet with the peppercorn cause (must try), and the catch of the day. He coursed it out perfectly for us to enjoy an unforgettable dining experience. Sitting outside under the patio with the fountains from the pool and the tiki torches setting an unforgettable atmosphere. To top everything off the gave us a chocolate desert to celebrate our special occasion. Thank you Beau and the rest of the staff at Duo, truly at 5 star experience I’d highly recommend stopping in, we will be back next time we’re in Maui!

DUO Steakhouse at the Four Seasons hands down the best restaurant I visited during my trip to Maui. From the food to the views and service, everything was a 10/10 so good I had to come back a second time. To start, I highly recommend the DUO wedge salad great flavor and a perfect appetizer. The crispy Brussels sprouts and roasted mushrooms were also solid sides to share. On my first visit, I had the dry-aged bone-in ribeye (rare). Personally not my type of cut , it was mostly fat and pretty chewy, so not my favorite cut. The wagyu truffle burger was ok. But on my second visit… I had the Australian Wagyu and the Snake River Farms American Wagyu Flat Iron, and both were incredible tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend those if you’re going for steak. Also the Roasted Shallot Jus is a must sauce for the steak. For sides, the garlic truffle fries provably my favorite thing crispy, rich, and great with the steaks. As for dessert, the soufflé cheesecake was my favorite light, fluffy, and just sweet enough. I also tried the Chocolate Macadamia Torte, which was good too, though a bit too chocolatey (if you’re not into rich chocolate, maybe go for something lighter). Overall, DUO is a must-visit if you’re staying in Wailea or nearby. Great food and amazing Four Seasons service. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip.

We ordered the tomahawk which was delicious and cooked to perfection/ seasoned well. The only dissappointment is frozen lobster being used.service is fine dining. Servers attentive. King crab leg was a teaser but yummy and fresh. Spent over 200$ but everything was flavorful woth no issues with meal we ordered.

Duo for our anniversary was an incredible place to dine. The experience starts from the entrance to your exit. Everyone will genuinely greet you. Our waitress was amazing and took excellent care of us without interrupting my wife and my conversations. We had looked at the menu before arriving and had a general idea of what we wanted, but their whisky list was chocked full of unicorns. This gave me a chance to try the Parker series limited release. The bartender and our waitress kindly allowed me to photo the bottle for my tasting list. The food was seasoned well and exquisitely prepared. Beet Carpaccio was flavorful with burrata cheese and candied walnuts. The King crab legs were huge and we could have them warm or cold (we chose cold, but with warm butter), the ribeye and tuna were well seasoned giving them some amazing depth of flavor worthy of any high end restaurant (our compliments to the chef), and desert was special. With most restaurants being of equal billing in the resorts of Wailea, Duo stands out for the highest quality, greatest of service, and worth the expense! We will definitely be back on our next visit

Ruth's Chris Steak House is a premier destination for steak lovers, boasting two stunning locations at The Shops at Wailea and Lahaina's Front Street. This upscale chain has earned its reputation over the years by serving sizzling, butter-topped steaks in an elegant atmosphere that’s perfect for special occasions. Diners can indulge in their favorite cuts like the Filet, complemented by delectable sides such as Crab Stuffed Mushrooms and Potatoes au Gratin.
Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse is a wonderful restaurant tucked away in the back of the Wailea Shopping Center. You can enjoy some relaxing music before heading in for a delicious meal. Although we didn’t have a reservation, we were fortunate to find a spot right away and were seated promptly. They offer early bird specials between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m., so I made it just in time—only a few minutes before the steak special ended! I ordered the steak with shrimp, which came with a salad and dessert. It’s such a great deal if the timing works out for you. All their dinners are Al La Carte, but this deal comes with a side so I did the garlic mashed potatoes and they were delicious . Our server, Jared, was fantastic—very attentive and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. His kindness made the experience even better. We were seated near the window, and it turned out to be the perfect time to enjoy the sunset. It was truly a memorable evening.

A high end steakhouse, slightly more casual than other Ruth's Chris on the mainland. Intimate atmosphere. The professional and friendly staff are excellent. The steaks are delicious. Various cuts are prepared to order on extremely hot plates. Aged appropriately and meticulously prepared, they're the best. Side dishes are a large carte. Each are the perfect accompaniment to the entrees. If you're not sure what you'd like, ask your server for suggestions. A full bar area is available. There is plenty of free parking adjacent to the restaurant.

A birthday dinner brought me and my gang to Maui's second Ruth's Chris, located in the Shops at Wailea. BRIEF HISTORY: The original Chris Steak House was founded in 1927 in New Orleans by entrepreneur Chris Matulich. The business was sold to single mother Ruth Fertel in 1965, who had no experience in the steakhouse biz. She was self-taught on the fundamentals of butchery and utilized her brother's restaurant space and family recipes to start up her new venture. After a fire destroyed the original building in 1976, she moved to another location but the sales agreement prevented her from utilizing the same name at a different address, so hence the new name of Ruth's Chris was born. ATMOSPHERE: I'm pretty sure the restaurant had a nice ocean view years ago before an empty parcel that backs up to the restaurant developed a hotel/condo that rudely took away their entire view. The inside is simple yet elegantly decorated. Seating is a mix of low tops and huge booths. The vibe was a bit dreary as the place wasn't that crowded, but we did dine at 8:30pm which could be the reason why. Americans eat so early compared to the rest of the world. MENU: Seafood-based apps, salads, soups, steak, fish, lamb, chicken, shrimp, desserts. FOOD: Escargot Five pieces came to a dish. Not many places on Maui serve this, so when available, I have to order it! Ruth's version was surprisingly good. The shelled snails were moist, buttery, cheesy and served hot. Louisiana Seafood Gumbo Thank you to those who posted pics of this as you're the reason why I ordered it! I absolutely love gumbo and had many-a-bowl in the motherland just last year. If I didn't know better, I'd have thought I was back in Naw'lins. Seriously that good. Savory, flavorful and I didn't share one spoonful! Highly recommended. Petite Filet & Lobster Tail (special) The steak was very good, the lobster tail not so much. It was moist but mushy for the most part. Was it under or over cooked? Old? Should've stuck with shrimp. Baked Potato I'm glad our server informed us that the sides are big enough for two to share. The menu description listed this spud as a whole pound, so my friend and I thankfully split it as it was huge! The potato was done nice and firm, moist and topped generously with cheese, sour cream and bacon (I nixed the chives). Roasted Brussels Sprouts This was a great veggie dish to split between the four of us. The flavors and texture were spot-on. Cremini Mushrooms I'm a mushroom freak and probably could've eaten the whole thing by myself. Whole mushrooms were done in a savory, buttery sauce and went well with everything! SERVICE: Host greeting was immediate and friendly. Jared (2019) took exceptional care of us. He has a great personality and sense of humor that made our evening that much more enjoyable. Thanks! OVERALL: Very good food, sans for my lobster tail. The prices are high but well worth it.

This place is expensive, but definitely worth it! It's the best place I've gone to for steak here on Maui. Until my dad and I ate here tonight, I thought I knew a good steak. Thank you for making me realize I've been eating steak wrong for 40+ years. 😂😂😂 The service is excellent, the atmosphere is calm and quiet. It's a dining experience definitely worth the cost! Oh, and a word of advice; when they tell you a side dish/dessert is big, take their word for it. I barely finished my apple pie a la mode! Anyway, go check them out at the Shops At Wailea!

Came here to celebrate my honeymoon and im going to be completely honest. The service was in point, my server was very nice and professional, however the food wasn’t.. i didnt like my steak at all, it literally tasted like the steak from Chilis. I was gonna go to Spago’s at the Four seasons but i didn’t feel like catching an uber out there so ended up here.. they really need to make their food better because they claim to be prime meat but i dont think so. The day before i went to DUO and their steak was excellent. I asked for my steak to be medium rare but they didn’t really know how to cook it. I spent $250 dls and left feeling disappointed because I didn’t think the food was going to be that bad.
Oli C — Google review
At first, this restaurant seemed like a top-tier steakhouse, but it didn’t live up to expectations. Our server, Blaine, was friendly and did his best, but he was clearly overworked, resulting in long wait times and inconsistent service. The appetizers and sides, especially the lamb chops, were excellent. However, the main courses were disappointing. We ordered three medium-well New York strip steaks—all arrived undercooked. Even after sending them back, two were still not right. We ended up cooking them ourselves on the 500-degree plates, but by then, we were already full. To top it off, it took a long time to receive the check. This was our first time leaving a premium steakhouse feeling frustrated and like we overpaid.

Food was perfect! Starting with the sweet corn agnolotti with lobster, followed by fish of the moment (mahi mahi) and 48-hour wagyu short rib. We asked if we could order one glass of wine per course and split it for a paired tasting - “yes of course”! View and setting was amazing. Service was spotty. Asked for water a few times before getting it. Food was good. Tempura snapper was incredible. I would not get the baked Hawaiian next time. Unlike baked Alaska, the different components of the dessert don't really go well together.

Honestly, we were very surprised by how reasonable this restaurant was for breakfast. We tried to get into another local business but couldn't find parking. Cane and Canoe was right down the road and had plenty of room, complimentary valet parking, and a gorgeous view. It is tricky to find because it's inside the Montage Kapalua Bay resort on their lower level. You'll see signs for "reservations required" but that only applies to dinner service. We were seated right away without delay when we visited for breakfast and only a few tables were occupied when we arrived. It did slowly fill up though as we enjoyed our stay. The food was delicious. You won't be disappointed. Our server was nice enough but at one point all of the staff disappeared for quite a while and it was noticeable. It felt strange for a few moment but when they returned everything was back to normal. Overall a wonderful experience.

Gorgeous resteraunt that has indoor and outdoor at the same time. Fantastic service. The scallop on marscapone corn puree was pure bliss. The sweet corn lobster agnoletti was delectable. The filet mignon might have been the best I've had. The crust was amazing and cooked perfect. 48 hour wagyu short rib was packed with flavor and tender. Cocktails on point and the nice birthday dessert was rich and decadent. Worth the trip. Going back for sure.

Had an amazing breakfast here. We have eaten all over the world and this was hands down the best egg free waffle I’ve ever eaten. It was flaky crispy and tasty, not the dense dry waffle normally get when vegan. Literally the best ever. Chef Men is amazing. Our avacado toast was equally amazing, modified for our special diet. Thanks Chef and staff for a great breakfast. Btw, the fruit plate is amazing.

This restaurant turned out to be the culinary highlight of our anniversary trip to Maui. The service, food, and atmosphere were all at the highest level of fine-dining excellence. We were greeted warmly at the reception and, once seated, received outstanding service. The welcome taro bread bites with olive oil, butter, and honey set a perfect tone. Our starters — Ahi poke and octopus — were cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with flavor. For the mains, we had the chicken and the catch of the day — snapper. Both dishes impressed us with their complex textures and beautifully layered flavors, exceeding our expectations. Dessert was a delightful finish: coconut and pineapple creations that were simply amazing. It was pricey, but absolutely worth every dollar.

We did the $35 3 course meal offered when buying our aquarium tickets and it was really great food. I didn't know what to expect but the dish we had was top notch, one of the best meals we have had here. I think the value for what we paid was really good! Had the fresh catch of the day fish sandwich, it was absolutely incredible! Also, the purple rain adult beverage was delicious and came in a really cute tiki cup! Sitting outside right by the water it was Soo good! Definitely will go there again when I'm back on Maui!

Was recommended after our helicopter tours. Stop at the Maui Ocean Center. It is attached to the aquarium. Ordered rhe Canada's (Cathch of the day) which was Onaga (snapper) with shrimp and taro potatoes. It was amazing. We also ordered the tempura lobster tail. Different but still excellent. All the food was cooked to perfection! I'm not a shrimp fan but these were cooked perfectly! Our server Caysha was extremely nice and helpful. Food came out quick. It is outdoor seating so you have to deal with flies and birds and an occasional chicken but it did not take away from the experience. Decently priced for the quality of the food. We really enjoyed everything about this place! Highly recommended for service, taste, and view!

Food service and atmosphere was excellent, was a bit on the warm side since the restaurant is outdoors. The fish and chips were excellent and highly recommend.

The view was incredible and the menu offers a wide variety of plates. I ordered the poke bowl on the waitress’s recommendation. The bowl arrived and was a beautiful thing to behold. I picked up a fork and poked it into a square piece of tender fish covered in a spicy sauce. Then I made the mistake and put the bite in my mouth...now and forever more I will be seeking to repeat that experience. The bite was so beautiful, so subtle, so sublime, if it was my last meal; that would have been better….the taste was such perfection that I literally cried. I have never yet in all my sixty years experienced such an emotional reaction to a bite of food, but before that bite I had never known food could be such an orgasmic experience. The curried peas and the six minute egg….the beautiful and perfectly dressed salad…the sticky rice…all of it….a food-gasm I had never imagined possible. The bowl was $30…who could pontificate that such an experience would cost so little. It stopped all conversation and each person at the table focused on the bowl or plate of pleasure before them. They had different things. None of us shared bites of dinner as we devoured in a blessed ritual the wonder before us. Run, don’t walk. You don’t want to live another day without experiencing this food. Bowing down to the chef and the magic hands that put this together for us.

I had the Friday special with pork and Auahi so good my wife had the plantation burger.

The food was good, and the view was great. The staff was friendly. What surprised me the most, and why I can't give it five stars, is the lack of services for kids. They have a high chair, but that's about all. There are no special water cups with lids and straws for children, and nothing to keep them occupied while we wait for food. I would expect more from a restaurant in an aquarium where the target audience is families with kids.
Andrii S — Google review
What a disappointment. Someone at our hotel highly recommended it. My husband liked his fish and chips. I ordered the fish taco special, which the waitress said was mahi mahi. Took one bite and the fish was raw inside. Finally flagged down the waitress, who apologized and brought it to the kitchen. Then she returned and said the kitchen ran out of mahi so they gave me ahi instead. Hmm, not feeling very trusting now so I ordered the veg burger instead. It’s listed on the menu as being “served with coconut luau taro sauce. This secret, signature sauce combines the sweetness of coconut & the flavor of rich taro.” I get the burger after my husband has finished and it’s just the burger with lettuce, tomato and avocado. Dry bun. No sauce. I asked the waitress and she said it doesn’t come with sauce. Whatever. I ate and we left. Should have gone to the pizza place in the little shopping strip next door.

Japanese restaurant
Nuka is a sleek Japanese venue offering a diverse menu of small plates, sushi, specialty rolls, and a variety of drinks. Located in the sleepy North Shore town of Haiku, it's popular among locals for its seriously fresh sushi and izakaya-style eats. The restaurant serves unique twists on traditional rolls like the Lollipop roll and offers Asian-inspired dishes such as wasabi fries.
As we went to the Road of Hana to explore the Twin Falls we discovered this Japanese restaurant was on the way there. Food was excellent. Cute little place. Staffs were wonderful. Sashimi was fresh. Our tummy satisfied.
Amenita T — Google review
Nuka in Haiku offers a cozy, stylish setting with a menu that leans into Japanese classics. While the sushi and rolls were just okay — fresh but not particularly memorable — the meat skewers really stood out. Perfectly grilled and full of flavor, they were a great surprise and easily one of the best parts of the meal. The real highlight, though, was the miso cod - buttery, tender, and deeply satisfying. It alone is worth coming for. Service was solid and the space has a nice ambiance, making it a good choice if you’re in the area and looking for a relaxed dinner with some standout bites.

Delicious sushi spot upcountry. My first time dining at Nuka was outstanding. The highly quality of the fish was noticeable. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. We sat at the sushi bar and the sushi chefs were very warm and friendly. The service from our waitress was okay- she wasn’t the friendliest. Our food came out quickly after placing our order which was awesome because we were hungry! We didn’t have a reservation upon arrival and waited about 15 minutes for a party of two. Its indoor dining only and the space is on the smaller side. There is sushi bar seating as well (about 10 spots). We enjoyed the ceviche and mocktails from their evening specials menu, along with the dragonfly roll, maguro nigiri and ahi salad from their regular menu. We’ll definitely be back.

Dined here many many times. The food was always amazing, some of my favorite cocktails, and there has almost always been high quality fish. The waitlist operation is inconvenient, but if you’re willing to get through that then bear in mind you will be treated unkindly by the servers. On multiple occasions I have had horrible service. It’s hard to say how many times i’ve actually enjoyed any service i’ve received here aside from the people that ran the food. Servers are miserable, rude, stuck up, and they do not have any sense of recovery after being rude. It’s unfortunate that I don’t have it in me to leave a bad tip so i’ll always leave 20%, but after my last negative interaction, I will never be returning. It’s unfortunate as the food and drinks are great, sushi chefs are talented, the food runners are nice and friendly, but your server staff is consistently rude and ruins the entire experience. Don’t come here if you want decent service.

Before Nuka, this place used to be a Napa store and before that a mini market store. ATMOSPHERE: They're located in a free-standing building on Haiku Road just across the street from the Haiku Cannery mall with lots of free parking. The Asian decor fits the restaurant perfect. It's a small open-air room that fits maybe 50 people max, with regular tables and sushi bar seating. RESERVATIONS: They don't take reservations so be prepared to wait during peak dinner hours especially on the weekend. FAVE FOODS: Karaage Chicken Very small portion but very really good. The chicken was very tender and the light karaage batter was delish. Chicken Katsu Donburi I am a fan of this place after eating this dish! The rice is laced with a sweet/salty soy flavor, topped with a over-hard fried egg cooked in the same sauce, topped with deep fried & super tender chicken katsu strips and finished off with thinly sliced nori. DEELISH! Tempura Shrimp Udon I simply love noodles, so this was an easy decision for my second time here. The broth is a bit sweet but very good (I am NOT a fan of sweet broths but this was an exception). Accompanied by a generous amount of shrimp, green bean, onion and mushroom tempura. Ahi Katsu Donburi Delicious rice dish flavored with a sweet-soy seasoning which is topped with an over-hard fried egg, and chunks of breaded and seared ahi. I personally would've liked to have the ahi cooked all the way through which would make the dish more visually pleasing, though it's still very good overall. Portion size is perfect. SERVICE: Everyone has been great all these years. OVERALL: Maui's best Japanese restaurant.

Food is always delicious, definitely my favorite restaurant on Maui… Our service last night went above and beyond, had a great time and enjoyed every bit of it.

I've been to Nuka twice. Once a few years ago (it was excellent), and this past weekend (it was not). Service: We showed up a few minutes after they opened and scored one of the few open tables. We sat for 10-15 minutes waiting to place a drink order. What we later learned was our server was busy with a table seated after us. I had to ask a different employee for our server. She eventually arrived and didn't apologize for the delay. The service from this point was ok...clumsy, not horrible, but def. not gracious. Cocktails were delivered with no napkin to absorb the sweat off the glass. I've worked the front of the house in fine dining and It felt like the staff receive minimal training, and are delivering food as they would bowls of cereal to their children. Lots of staff only carrying 1-2 items at a time - ie a lack of efficiency. Food: This was better. We tried the miso butterfish, a tempura appetizer on the specials menu, and a variety of sashimi and sushi. These were well prepared, and made up for feeling like they didn't care if we were there or not. Salmon sashimi was not fresh, and remained on the platter after it was sampled. The remainder was fresh and tasty. Summary: Due to it's location and status as the only sushi restaurant for miles, I think management has decided they are busy and customer service doesn't need to be prioritized. That's true until it isn't, and competition appears. Our bill for two came to nearly $250. Did we feel like we got our money's worth and look forward to returning? No.

La Provence is a charming spot in Maui that offers a delightful culinary experience. From indulging in lemon-cream crepes and breve lattes for breakfast to savoring French pastries like buttery croissants and fruit tarts, this place is a haven for food enthusiasts. The outdoor setup adds to the ambiance, making it an ideal location for enjoying bistro classics during dinner.
Would love it if the crêpes had fresh fruit too. The eggs Benedict was still delicious, eggs poached well. Need more hollandaise. Beautiful atmosphere!

The very very slow service was all forgiven by the most delicious food. Chicken with garlic confit and mushroom sauce and the veggie crepe entrees were super delicious and well executed. The chicken was served in shreds and was succulent, moist and tasty. The crepe looked like a dark flour was used, and was hot and a tiny bit crispy. However, the most epic thing I ate there was the chocolate mousse. Hands down, one of the best, if not the best, mousess I've ever had! All in all, it was a most delicious meal! I have a definite yearn to return to La Provence in Kula.

Pastries were good but the cashier was not friendly at all. It’s all bad energy. You can tell she doesn’t want to be there. I spent $53 for 8 pastries so I asked her to put it in the box, she did but she charged me $5 for the box. After spending $53 for the pastries I didn’t feel like paying $5 for the box. I guess it’s okay if they tell you or at least “BE NICE, BE FRIENDLY, BE CONSIDERATE to the customers or at least smile and say thank you. Last thing, I regret TIPPING her.

On my first visit to this little bakery I wanted to try everything!! My bf and I thoroughly enjoyed a gorgeously crafted croissant and a perfectly baked mango scone. We are locals that decided to stop in at la Provence for breakfast /early lunch. My peach almond pastry was hard to cut even using a knife. Maybe old? Idk, but the coffee was good. The woman at the counter was rather demonstrative of what the French call Ennui / Boredom or perhaps tired & in need of her own Java Jolt. Overall I’d say missable. Oh but the outdoor seating was nice:)

Brigit & Bernard's Garden Cafe is a lively restaurant located in an unexpected industrial area, boasting a surf and turf menu with authentic German food. The restaurant gained recognition after being featured on Guy Fieri's show 'Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.' They take pride in serving authentic German cuisine and are particularly known for their Oktoberfest celebrations. What sets them apart is their commitment to preparing everything from scratch, including sauces and dressings.
Just found this place before an appointment I had in the area and so glad I stopped in! Such a hidden gem! I haven't had such authentic tasting German food in such a long time and to find it on Maui was awesome. Absolutely everything on my plate was delicious. I didn't think I'd be able to eat it all because the portion was generous but I finished everything. Even took some homemade apple strudel home. Service was extremely friendly and fast. I am definitely coming back and bringing friends and family and highly recommend this place!

This is an enchanting little hideaway with an interior filled with a thousand treasures hanging overhead. The chef did such a phenomenal job on the food. I enjoyed every single bite. The red cabbage was very flavorful but I do wish the portion had been larger on that. The salad dressing was zesty and the gravy had a brandy or cognac flavor to it. I definitely recommend ordering the gravy on the schnitzel. It made the dish! The apple strudel is made in house and topped the foodie fest off beautifully. Thanks to our great waiter who really personalized the experience.

Amazing. We were there in a Thursday afternoon and Elise was incredible. She was the only wait staff covering the restaurant and she was a superstar! Food is to die for. Portions are large, we could have easily shared an entree. Side salad was killer with one of the best vinaigrette dressings I have ever had. Will be back every time we visit Maui.

Our dining experience at Bridget and Bernard was a solid 10 out of 10! Everything about this place is exemplary, from the scrumptious food to the enchanting ambiance. The food is a culinary masterpiece. Each dish is crafted with care, bursting with flavors that delight every taste bud. The schnitzel, in particular, is top-notch, crispy yet tender, while the creamy potatoes are the perfect accompaniment. The atmosphere is charming and nostalgic, with an inviting outdoor setting that transports you back in time with its delightful old music. It conjures fond memories and adds a touch of elegance to any dining experience. The service elevates the entire evening, with staff who are both attentive and friendly. Damion, in particular, took exceptional care of us, ensuring every need was met with a warm smile. Bridget and Bernard isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience, a perfect spot for meetings and gatherings. I wholeheartedly recommend this gem to anyone looking to savor delicious food in a beautiful setting. It’s a must-visit for everyone in the area!

What a hidden gem. Our first time here, certainly not the last. Delicious homemade food. We had Rouladen, and the Schnitzel. Both were cooked to perfection. The Schnitzel came with a nice side of mushroom gravy. Topped everything off with Apple Strudel! Thank you Brigit and Bernard for creating such good food.

I've passed this place numerous times and finally went in. ATMOSPHERE: They're located in the Kahului Industrial Park, which means zero views. The inside is small and quaint and charmingly decorated, even on the ceiling. Table only seating is for about 20 max. The outdoor deck seats about the same amount of people and is shaded by trees and umbrellas. MENU: It's a mashup of Italian, German, Swiss, and American apps and entrees. FOOD: Chicken Cordon Bleu I really liked it! The breaded chicken breast was tender and stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese and then I believe deep fried. It came with au gratin potatoes, not my favorite style of starch but it was good and lightly creamy, and the sauteed veggie medley of onions, mushrooms, carrots, zucchini, yellow peppers, and carrots were cooked perfect and had a great savory flavor which enhanced the potatoes and chicken. Great job! Generous portion for $18. Carbonara My friend's dish. She and I absolutely love pastas so I trust her judgment. Unfortunately the dish lacked salt. The toppings of bacon and mushrooms were a bit skimpy and didn't include any peas. She took her leftovers home and doctored it up with more cheese which made it better. Again, another generous portion for $16. RESERVATIONS: Not needed. We walked in on a Monday around noon and the place was dead. Within a half hour or so a few more peeps came in. I thought they'd have more takeout orders being in an industrial area but not so. I guess the food doesn't appeal to the takeout crowd. SERVICE: The lone female server was friendly and professional. OVERALL: Mainstream pricing, good portion sizes, very good chicken cordon bleu.
Maui T — Google review
An unassuming little bistro tucked away in an industrial area, this is a local favorite. A menu that boasts Bolognese, souvlaki and Jagersnitzel is a place you have to try. The beer is limited to a few German beers on tap and some typical bottled name brands. The service is extremely slow, albeit very friendly and kind. Reservations and patience are required, but well worth the wait.

Greeted by Brigit as I entered the quaint, wonderful decorated European restaurant. I had a wonderful experience here, the first time I had ever tried true German food. Enjoyed brunch and coffee here at a quiet Maui town, Makawao. Wait staff, mainly cashier there was friendly even my party took bit of long time to decide and order food. All menu items are on a wall, difficult to explore and decide at first. Like all other Hawaiian restaurants, the price tag does not always justify the quality and content of foods. But here at Freahies, most of omelets and drinks my family ordered were decent and nicely presented. Outside courtyard area next to big trees was perfect for enjoying Hawaiian breeze.

The food was great and came out quickly.. And that’s what we came for.. so all worth it! Service.. meh.. wouldn’t say anyone was hospitable.. The only thing we heard was.. are you ready to order? (Restaurant Tip) I would always start with a welcome in at least.. It’s just too easy to not greet people on vacation. They do ask for a tip when you pay, but you will not get any service beyond the counter.. No coffee or tea refills. Atmosphere.. The greeting set the tone, tables were dirty, ppl were just standing around waiting to order while others held tables..

This was my second visit to Haven’s, and once again, I had a great experience. On my first visit, I had the Smashburger — easily one of the best I’ve had. On our return, we went for the Tomahawk steak and scallops. Both were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is a standout, with a beautiful view of the harbor at sunset that really elevates the experience. Service was excellent — the staff is friendly and attentive, checking in often. The only small suggestion there is to give guests a bit more space between check-ins, as too many can interrupt the flow of conversation between guests. The drink selection was solid. Cocktails and wines were well chosen, and I really liked the beer selection — a nice change from the usual big-brand lineup. I’d still love to see more non-alcoholic options added down the line. If I had one other note, it’s that prices feel a bit high for a newer restaurant, especially compared to some well-established spots on Maui. That said, the quality is clear, and Haven’s has real potential. Wishing the team all the best — I’m looking forward to seeing how they grow.

We didn't have any reservations to this beautiful restaurant, but we're able to be assisted as walk in guests. The ambience is outstanding. The view can't beat overlooking the harbor, South Kihei and of course beautiful Haleakala. The food is beyond Ono (delicious.) The flavors, food presentation as we locals like to say, "Broke the Mouth!" The friendly services from the hostess, our waiter Scott, the manager 100% extraordinary. I truly recommend this establishment a must try. ❤️🤙

Great spot in Maalaea Bay! Nice big patio overlooking the marina with stylish decor without being pretentious. We stopped in for happy hour (3-4:30pm daily) and enjoyed beers and mai tais (dare I say better than the Monkeypod mai tai) and fish tacos which were up there in the top fish tacos of all time (huge chunk of fish, made with pacific blue marlin). Our server Tim was very attentive and could sell sand to the beach, which was why we stayed for a second drink. Vibe was nice and relaxed, Maalaea can be such a ghost town but the restaurant was maybe like 1/3 full on a Saturday around 4pm.

We chose to have an early Mother’s Day dinner here before returning home to Molokaʻi and we are more than happy we did. Austin was our server and Lance was the Manager that evening and all the staff were so kind, professional, and answered all our questions lol. Us locals get plenty questions. The food was mean! We had the short ribs that you could cut with a fork! Lobster mac and cheese, scallops, super soft steak, and the oyster shooters was the best I ever had, hands down!! I not even kidding. I recommend Haven’s and cannot wait til I go back to Maui to eat there again. Go, you won’t regret it!!

Haven’s Harborside was a great choice, as Google suggested! It’s located in front of the marina, which gives it a very different vibe from the other restaurants we visited in Maui. Our server, Mick, was simply spectacular, recommending wine, dishes, and desserts. Honestly, we didn’t have to see the menu and could’ve gone with his suggestions. Every dish was delicious and beautifully plated. Notable mentions are the crispy Kanpachi Roll (Mick’s reco), the bone-in New York Steak, the Diver Scallops, and the Malasadas. If you haven’t tried them, don’t miss the chance. They’re some kind of a donut with guava jelly injected as they come from the drier. Simply delicious. We had an absolute blast.

One of our BEST meals of the entire trip! If you have the opportunity to dine here, do yourself a favor and make it happen! Riley was our server, and he was great! We shared the Caesar salad, wagyu croquettes and rice cake to start which was all 10 out of 10! For the main dishes my husband got the Bucket, I got the smash burger and we split the truffle rissoto. Probably best rissoto I've ever tasted! I do want to mention during our time in Maui we also stayed on the Wailea side at the Grand Wailea Waldorf Astoria and dined at some of the top restaurants over there and at the Four Seasons. Havens beats any of those fancy hotel restaurants by a long shot! Quality food, quality people, quality place!

Class Act is the name of the dining room of the Maui Culinary Academy, the culinary program at the University of Hawaii Maui College campus. The students learn both back and front-of-the-house skills over 16 weeks, and also get to experience working in a real world restaurant setting with paying guests, which is Class Act. We attended a semester finale 6-course dinner complete with wine pairings. ATMOSPHERE: The dining room and kitchen are located on the second level of the Pa'ina Building on the UHMC campus, which also houses the school's diverse cafeteria on the lower level. The dining room is modeled like a traditional restaurant with host stand, configurable table seating, bar, and kitchen. High ceilings and big windows bestow airiness. Courses included ,Salmon Tartar, Seared Diver Scallop & Kauai Prawns, Hickory Smoked Duck Breast, Herb & Mustard Crusted Lamb Rack, Morbier & Compressed Persimmon and dessert. Everything was phenomenal! SERVICE: The front-of-house students looked sharp in their black uniforms, and provided excellent and professional table service. Our waters and wines were always filled, and dishes explained when placed. The kitchen students did a great job during the garde manger kitchen mingling and hors d'oeuvers, answering questions and kept up with our demanding appetites. Dinner food was amazingly prepared and expertly presented. The sommelier was friendly, knowledgable and introduced each course's pairing with a little bit of the wine area's history. OVERALL: World-class food and service, and a great start for the chef's and restaurant proprietors of tomorrow. Highly recommended!

Food court
Honoapiilani Food Truck Park is a popular spot located between Kaanapali and Napili, featuring around 8 different food trucks offering a variety of cuisines. The park provides ample free parking and restrooms, making it convenient for visitors. Guests can enjoy their meals at picnic tables on-site or take their food to nearby beaches like Kaanapali Beach or Airport Beach (Kahekili Beach Park).
Great food truck spot in West Maui with lots of options—Thai, Vietnamese, Mexican, Hawaiian, and sushi. I tried the drunken noodles, which were amazing, the pineapple fried rice, which was okay, and the shrimp taco plate, which was pretty good. Seating is limited, but it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!

The atmosphere wasn't great because there were a couple of trucks playing some aggressive music kind of loudly that were splashing over each other and some with crude and vulgar language. I'm wearing sandals or flip-flops and the stones were quite sharp and large and uncomfortable to walk on. So the atmosphere was not great the selection was interesting if not to my liking completely lots of things I wouldn't eat but it may cater to others tastes l. I ate at the Chunky Paniolo Hawaiian food truck. The value I have to say was excellent I got the prime rib dinner which came with 6 oz of prime rib look like more to me and two sides I chose the Greek salad and the macaroni salad. The macaroni salad was average at best the Greek salad wasn't actually Greek salad it was like a cucumber salad with Greek dressing and feta cheese but it was tasty. But the coup de gras was the prime rib it was cooked perfectly tender delicious with a good au jus sauce everything was fabulous because of that.

If you are visiting Maui and staying near Whaler Village/Lahaina- this food truck park is a serious must stop for dinner place! Most trucks open at 5 pm, and the park is always busy by 7 pm. We tried every truck during our 8 night stay next door to the park, and not one meal disappointed! Hooked was a favorite and the Poke was so fresh and amazing! The Sushi truck was a daily hit for our kids who loved the rolls and starters. I would suggest having cash but most trucks take Venmo and cards too. It saved us a lot on groceries by making this our dinner spot, and we had so many options that it never disappointed! The people working are so friendly and the portions are fantastic! Most loved: Pineapple Fried Rice from the Thai truck!

Great spot with a good variety of food trucks to choose from! We tried the smash burger truck, and the food was delicious and freshly made. The overall vibe is really cool and laid-back — perfect for grabbing a casual bite and enjoying the island atmosphere. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area and want something local and fun.

I opted for chicken pad Thai and my husband got smash burger and fries from get loaded in paradise. For dessert I got malasadas and he got chocolate ice cream from Aloha sweets. Pad Thai had a really good sauce. Burger and fries were okay. Ice cream was good and malasadas were delicious. Lots of choices. Lots of seating. Because sometimes you just don't want to cook and you just don't want to sit in a restaurant.

This place is SUPER COOL! It’s a fun vibe with lots of choices. They have a temporary tattoo vendor and hair braiding too. We parked across the street. It’s about $25 per meal.

Local food truck gathering with a variety of cuisines. Some take cards but cash is preferred. It’s family friendly and all outdoors. There is free parking available. My boyfriend had a burger while I opted for Thai food. Vibes were super casual and chill.

Nestled along the stunning coastline of Maui, the Old Lahaina Luau has been a cherished tradition since 1986. This iconic luau offers guests an authentic Hawaiian experience, complete with traditional cuisine that reflects the rich culinary heritage of the islands. The enchanting setting features a stage surrounded by swaying coconut trees and glowing tiki torches, creating a magical atmosphere for diners.
It’s been almost a year since our family visited and looking back it was one of the highlights of our trip! 5 adults attended (one vegetarian) and I can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience. The vegetarian member had been to the excellent Lele on their honeymoon, and we had reservations for the prior year trip which we postponed. Pleasantly surprised Old Lahaina was just as good! We had an amazing table off to the right of the stage, just behind the traditional low seating (not recommend for the older generation unless you are in very good physical condition). The dance and story was outstanding. The views incredible. The food delicious and plentiful. Drinks were not watered down as some other place’s reviews mentioned. Vegetarian option was extremely well done-all dishes were very similar to the non-veg dishes but made with a veg-friendly base. I called a couple of times to insure the vegetarian guest was noted and they were beyond friendly and accommodating and even left a voicemail a day or two before to confirm everything. The weather was gorgeous and the audience participation dancing was fun to watch! Cannot wait to go back-highly recommend Old Lahaina Luau!

Hands down my husband and I’s favorite thing we did on the trip. I had watched a lot of videos from Jordan and Erica on Hawaii Vacation guide on their list for best luaus in Maui. I’m so glad we went with Old Lahaina Luau! The drinks I had here were the best I’ve ever tasted! I’m a picky eater, and Im sometimes hesitant to try new things. I ended up trying everything and I loved all the food! The food was my husbands favorite on the island! I believe our server was David and our busser was Esau, they were both very friendly and provided wonderful service. The luau itself was very impressive! The singers and dancers were just incredible. We loved learning more about the history of Hawaii and really appreciated being able to see and hear their story. I would recommend everyone do this luau at least once, it was awesome and worth the money!

We had an amazing time! They greeted us with orchid lei's and a mai Tai and told us to wonder around and enjoy the sunset. We got to watch the pig being pulled out of the ground and they entertained us all evening. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. A great experience overall and the food was decent also.

Food for me was just ok. Pre-selected menu where the food options are not flexible. But this place is all about the atmosphere, culture and the performances by the locals. Me and the wifey had a fun time. The performances were spectacular. Alcohol could be better. Location is beautiful and has a good view of the Old Lahaina sunset.
Saugat P — Google review
Is it expensive? Yes. My wife and I only thought of that going into that but once we left we realized you are getting so much for your money actually. We went here for part of our 23rd wedding anniversary and we are very glad we did. Although the parking was a bit nutty, every single person we encountered was so very nice and helpful. The food was fresh and delicious. The presentations were insightful as were the dances and also beautiful to watch. HUGE shoutout to our server for recommendations on food and taking the time to explain every food stage to us in detail. Even the bussers kept our glasses topped off without fail. What else could you ask for during a beautiful starry Maui night? We haven't quit talking about our 10/10 luau experience since arriving back home. The night at OLL will be in our hearts and minds for a long time to come. Thank you.
Ken R — Google review
My overall ranking is only reduced due to exorbitant cost to attend. The cost is VERY high. We paid $460 for 2 people. Our waiters were excellent. The Hawaiian vibe is off the charts great. The performances were wonderful but lacked an eye-popping finale. Alcoholic drinks are included. The food is authentic and tasted good, but I think my expectations escalated tremendously based on the cost and as such, I was disappointed with the flavor of the fresh catch and the solitary option for desert. Starts around 5p for seating and ended around 8/8:30.

We weren’t sure which luau we wanted to do, but we are so glad we chose this one. It is not apart of a hotel which makes it more authentic of an experience. The food was AMAZING! We were so full afterwards and it’s all you can drink so you definitely get your moneys worth. They also have demonstrations prior to the show and dinner where you learn about Hawaiian customs. Our server was very attentive and friendly as well as all of the staff. You also get to take home banana bread at the end which was delicious. Great luau and great experience.

I thought it was overpriced but it was well worth it from beginning to end Easy to locate.get to venue a little earlier as parking soon fills up Greeter lovely .on going in received lay. Everything moves smoothly and on time with a smile from servers. You do not feel rushed. The Everything was fantastic from Food drinks and entertainment..especially the dancing all while the sun going down and being told of the history of Hawaii. We were seated on the cushions front view.but it seemed wherever you sat the view was good. Service was excellent all the way through yo the end of the night. We'll worth $$$$paid. A night to remember and the kids that were there seemed to enjoy the atmosphere too.

French restaurant
Gerard's Restaurant, located in the Plantation Inn on Maui, offers a unique dining experience with its locally inspired French cuisine served in a romantic indoor-outdoor setting. Despite any preconceived notions about 'snooty French food,' the restaurant provides a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere for guests to savor each classic dish from the thoughtfully curated menu. Chef Gerard Reversade incorporates Hawaiian ingredients into traditional French dishes, staying true to his roots while embracing local flavors.
Amazing service and food. We wanted to seat outside and it was lovely. Food was so flavorful. I tried the Papio and to be honest I'm not a fish person but this dish was amazing! Son many different flavors, fish was mild and just delicious. Everyone was exceptional and so cordial. A great experience. Quiet and chill place too so perfect for couples that are trying to stay away from loud crowds. Fantastique!

Perfect place to enjoy Thanksgiving. E was a little bummed that they had a special menu because she was looking forward to having Escargot, but she kinda got over it with her meal. We started with the chilled cucumber soup with goat cheese and frozen tomato puree which was something we enjoyed but probably wouldn't think to order. It definitely cooled us down. E got the duck with cannellini beans with ham which she ate to the bone, grandpa had the pink snapper, which he said was a bland fish, however he liked how the capers added such beautiful flavor with the spinach and the rest of his dish, and I had the beef filet which was more medium then medium rare, but was good because of how it was sauced and the sweet potato mash was a winner, so much so that E ate half of it and then asked is this sweet potato? Normally she avoids sweet potatoes at home. And dessert... Creme Caramel and Gateau Chocolate (sp?) were perfect. I loved that the chocolate cake had macadamia nuts in it with the coconut ice cream and raspberry puree. E loved the meringue shavings on her creme Caramel. Patio was nice too...

Can't stop thinking about all the great food we had. It was one of our favorites from our week long stay in Maui. The Escargot, Catch of the Day, and the Dusty Road Dessert was some of the best food we ever had. Have to make a reservation and is very limited so reserve in advance!

Amazing food here. They're booked out for months but we were able to grab a table due to a last minute cancellation. Can't believe how lucky we were!

Set in the romantic Plantation Inn in Lahaina that gives a classic colonial atmosphere to your evening meal. The balcony is a perfect place to watch the sun set with that special person in your life. Gerard’s offers up an exquisite selection of fresh seafood dishes such as classic like escargot. You’ll be tempted to dip the fresh bread in all the rich sauces. All of the dishes are easy to wash down with a beautiful rose wine from Provence. No French meal is complete without trying their amazing desserts such as the profiteroles!

Fantastic, authentic French food right on the shore in Lahaina. About a block off of Front Street. The cuisine is very good, service was impeccable and the setting beautiful. One of the highlights of my meal was the French Onion Soup.
Heath E — Google review
Incredibly delicious. I appreciated everything about this restaurant. We wanted to eat quality food vs scenery. Still, this was a romantic setting with the most exquisite food. We had the mushroom pastry, French onion soup, fresh catch, and chicken cordon bleu, dessert and wine. We will be going back even though we are on a short trip, yes it was that good!

food was delicious, well after the weird cheese ball .... it was loud like a pig sty at feeding time.....waiter forgot about kids drinks and dessert....after pouring the first glass of wine for the 4 adults, we didnt see him again and was left pouring and waiting our own table.....this would be ok at low priced places....but when your coughing up 125 bucks per person (with limited menu) you expect service of which there was none. because we where 6 they auto added 20% tip, i think 10% is more appropriate for the service received , the waiter did less than minimal, and instead of feeling like a nice relaxed dinner, where you can talk to each other, we where left yelling across the table cause they couldnt keep the noise levels down from the two drunk tables behind us.....food was good, the tartar and ahi tasted great, and the beef was ultra tender but taste less....total bill for 6 ppl was $750 before tips....would have gladly payed if the service matched and it was an exceptional experience....but no. this felt like a 400-500 would be more appropriate....ohh i forgot about the kids menu....its not kids friendly at all
