Kihei Caffe is a popular breakfast spot located in the Kihei Kalama Village, offering a variety of delicious and filling breakfast options at reasonable prices. The menu features Hawaiian favorites like Loco Moco and Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, as well as classic dishes such as omelets and cinnamon rolls. The cafe has a cozy interior with a spacious patio for outdoor dining, making it an ideal place to enjoy freshly roasted Hawaiian coffee and hearty breakfast plates.
Good food! Get there early to avoid any long line. Had to try the loco moco. Maybe next time I would order with just steamed rice. I would order the fried rice for a separate meal.Order inside and then get seated. Bring cash so you can avoid the 14% credit card fee.

Kehei Cafe: A Must-Try for Breakfast on Maui Kehei Cafe is definitely doing something right! I visited this morning with my daughter and was thrilled that we were able to get a table pretty quickly—a great start to the day. The staff was fun and helpful, making for a really pleasant atmosphere. For our meal, we decided to indulge, and every dish was a winner. We started with a classic cinnamon roll, but the real stars of the show were the savory and sweet mains. The breakfast burrito was awesome! It was big and tasty and got an extra layer of deliciousness from the addition of fried rice inside—a truly inspired combination. The French toast was equally impressive. It was wonderfully thick and perfectly prepared. The topping was what set it apart: they used bananas that were kinda fried and absolutely incredible, all topped with a unique and delicious coconut syrup. Between the quick seating, the great service, and the truly delicious and hearty food, Kehei Cafe is a must-try for anyone looking for an excellent breakfast spot. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito and the French toast!

The food choices are awesome. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is delicious 😋. The servings are plentiful. You order at the counter and they give you a number and you seat yourself inside or in the outside patio area. The servers bring your food out to you. There is a self serve station where you can get cold water and condiments. It is located inside the Lahaina Gateway Shopping Center across from Ross. There is plenty of parking.
Blanca R — Google review
We were debating between this and Bacon & Blossom we went for Kihei Caffe bc it’s more of a landmark but it’s definitely like an overpriced Dennys breakfast. You have to wait in line first to order, only one cashier so line can get long, then you get your drinks and look for a table. If you’re lucky you won’t be surrounded by chickens who want to eat your food. They even came up to our table it was a bit scary. There is no restroom so you have to go across the street to the beach restroom or at the outdoor market next door. If you want to go for the experience, cool it’s nice in front of the beach but food definitely didn’t wow me.
Nancy R — Google review
I’ve come here over 10 times just for their coffee alone. It’s the best best Macnut coffee I’ve had on the island so far and nothing comes close. The food options are very solid as well and quite large. The only food I didn’t like was the omelet. Everything else from Loco moco, ube panacakes, and french toast was 10/10.
Vasu B — Google review
The food was okay. I mean large portions with a Denny’s type of flavor. It was good but no wow factor and then the chickens roaming around outside are becoming rogue. You cant blame them but ya know they stole the show instead of allowing me to enjoy conversation and breakfast.
Jeannette A — Google review
Probably the best catfish I've ever had. The guy that took my order was very upbeat and helpful. He actually suggested the catfish and boy was he right. I have to plan another trip to Maui just to eat here again!
Jonathan C — Google review
The food is excellent. The staff is warm and friendly. Excellent patio seating might be a bit noisy for some. Some might also find the caffe a bit pricey. If you're planning to enjoy your meal on the patio tables, ORDER FIRST then find a table. Don't save tables before ordering. This is very helpful for guests who have already ordered find a table. The staff will bring your order to you. Also, while waiting in line, look over the handheld menu so that you have an idea what you'd like when it's your turn to order. Over the years (decades), this local style caffe has become very popular with regular visitors to Maui...for good reason. The food is excellent and the portions are large. As such, we strongly suggest visiting as early as possible. Each of the plates includes a local flair. There are a large selection of dishes, each is delicious. Various coffees and juices are available. The later guests arrive, the more challenging parking can be. Limited parking is available in the street. A large parking lot is available adjacent to the caffe. Restrooms are a short walk away.

The Gazebo is a popular dining spot located in the Napili Shores condo complex, offering American cuisine with a focus on breakfast. Despite its somewhat hidden location behind the resort's pool, the restaurant draws large crowds, often forming long lines even before its 7:30 am opening time. Guests waiting in line are offered fresh coffee and are rewarded with stunning ocean views and a relaxed beach-hut atmosphere upon being seated.
Worth the wait! Come early or plan for a late brunch. We were told to arrive at 6:30am because seating is very limited. When we arrived, there were 2-3 other people in line but the line was very long by opening time. Another perk to arriving early: you get to choose your table! We had a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. Tables seat up to 4 people, so if you come in a large group, you will have to split up. Our food was served soon after we ordered which was a pleasant surprise. I recommend the Mac nut pancakes and the eggs Benedict although our waitress said the omelettes are outstanding. Speaking of our waitress, she was awesome, spunky, and so friendly! Homemade coconut syrup and maple syrup made our pancakes even better. The atmosphere is open-air with a nice ocean breeze and lots of little birds flying in and out of the space. If you enjoy breakfast with a view, check out this place but be prepared to wait in line for a while or wake up early to get a good spot.
Melia — Google review
You’re coming here for the incredible ocean and beach views whilst enjoying a decent breakfast. Seriously, it’s the atmosphere that is the selling point. But you’ll pay the price, not so much in dollars but time. People in line said it would take an hour and came previous days where it was even longer. For pancakes and eggs? Yeah. So a pro tip: order by phone and it takes 25-20 minutes. Grab a table or lounger right next to the restaurant outside by the hotel pool. Same incredible view but much faster! But they’re super nice. They have umbrellas to shade from the sun. They gave cups of ice water too. Food: Pancakes were average. Not particularly fluffy or special quality. And they gave a huge platter of cream which of course made them better. The omelette with Swiss cheese (forgot the official name) was pretty good but ya gotta like cheese. Portuguese sausages were the best item IMO. Breakfast potatoes pretty good too. But the toast wasn’t very toasty.
G L — Google review
Really nice spot for breakfast. Great views of the ocean and relatively affordable for the quantity provided. I would highly recommend the omelettes. We also ordered a shrimp sandwich which was really fresh and tasty. There is ample parking available and don’t miss out on the fresh fruit! Highly recommended.
Yashonandan M — Google review
We got the scrambled eggs and the combo pancakes. They were delicious and amazing and the servings here are huge. Definitely recommend coming here as it opens so you don't have to wait in line. If you come later, just know you can do takeout and that will be way way faster.
Minal S — Google review
Popular breakfast spot with beach views. We read other reviews that recommended arriving here earlier than the 7:30am opening time. We arrived at 7am and it was 35 minute wait after opening. The line moved slowly because there’s limited seating and people don’t rush but it’s a vacation vibe, so what do you expect. We ordered the combo pancakes and the half order of fried rice. The half order portion was huge - I still had leftovers after the meal. Cash and credit cards accepted but it’s more expensive to use credit cards. The view of the water was great and our waitress was efficient. Everyone was chilling and assuming that you’re not in a rush, it is a good place to stop by.
Shanelle S — Google review
An outdoor seating restaurant with superior service and food. We waited 30 minutes for a table and when left there were at least that many people in line for a table. When my sandwich got soggy because I hadn't eaten it fast enough, the waitress volunteered to return it to the cook to be regrilled. Many of the sides, sauces, and condiments are made in house. A great experience.
Clayton B — Google review
Listen, the food here is absolutely delicious and the staff were so quick and friendly. My husband and I split the pancakes and fried rice but we still couldn’t finish it all so just know the portions are huge! If it weren’t for the outrageous wait times with no organization around waiting to be seated (putting a name down), then I would’ve ranked this a 5/5. We got there right at open and there was a long line waiting already, which we expected but thought it would move faster than it did. It took us nearly an hour of standing in line to be seated, which at some point just isn’t worth it to me. My husband didn’t seem to mind, so to each his own, but I was absolutely drained and just wanted to rest. There was only one provided bench and pool loungers from the hotel that’s next to it, but the loungers were covered in water from the rain and bird poop, so you’re more than likely going to have to stand the whole time. Once again, not the biggest deal to some people, but it was nearly a deal breaker for me. If you can get around that, it’s absolutely worth the hype!
Emmy I — Google review
This is a not-so-hidden “Gem” spot.. that should most definitely be on your “must eat” Maui list! Go early in your trip, as you will have leftovers for days — portions are THAT generous! Be prepared to wait in line - but soooo worth it. ENJOY🌊

The Plantation House is a Hawaiian eatery located on the Plantation Golf Course, offering stunning views from the 19th hole and serving elegant island fare. The restaurant is renowned for its panoramic sunset vistas overlooking the lush fairways of the golf course and the neighboring islands of Molokai. Executive Chef Jojo Vasquez has curated menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that showcase locally sourced and inspired dishes, along with signature menu items.
Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. Fries were delicious. Excellent espresso martini. Banana bread was so soft and flavorful. Fruit plate was wonderfully presented and all the fruit was perfectly ripe. Wonderful views from everywhere in the restaurant. The price of the food was actually not terrible for the amount and quality of everything that was presented. I was very pleasantly surprised with everything about this restaurant. Highly recommend!!!

We had such a phenomenal experience at Plantation House for our honeymoon. The food, atmosphere and service were top tier. Lauren was such an attentive and pleasant server. She had great recommendations and made sure our night was special. The chef that curated this menu has a gift. Thank you for such an amazing night, one of the best meals we have had. Highly recommend the Lavender Whale (i substituted vodka for the gin it was amazing), scallops with added the lobster tail, my husband had the two fish special, then we both had dessert, creme brulee and cheesecake. Everything was spectacular! Not to mention the beautiful views! If you got to only one restaurant during your stay, go here.

We had a wonderful first experience tonight at The Plantation House. We were seated promptly at our reserved time. The decor is so clean and airy and comfortable. There really isn't a bad seat in the restaurant. Our server was very warm and helpful, and she checked on us often. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. The seafood was all fresh, and the lamb chops were decadently tender and juicy. Parking was valet only.
HAI C — Google review
All of the food that we had was great! All of the servers were very nice and respectful. We had our reservations around 4:30pm and not many people were there when we first arrived but it got very busy as the night went on. This restaurant os a perfect place to watch the sunset and have a dinner. The price of the food is on the higher side but all of the food was fantastic. We would recommend going if you are in the area!
Katelyn K — Google review
Plantation House has one of the greatest sunset views! It is so hard to beat and the food is phenomenal! Get a view looking out towards the sunset, and pro tip: you can walk downstairs and get an unobstructed view on the golf course. All the food was top notch. Don’t forget to the dessert.
Ali S — Google review
Such a wonderful restaurant to eat and watch the sunset. We had salads, calamari, and several fish dishes. All of them were delicious. The service was great and the views were stunning. It’s a great place to sit and enjoy an evening.
K — Google review
Whilst staying locally the wife and I drove up to watch the sunset with cocktail in hand. We didn't have dinner reservations, but there is a bar area with a restricted view. The actual golf course was closed (water problems), but the restaurant was quite full and the food looked good. The front of house was friendly and helpful, but the barman was a little surly. We would probably dine there if we went back to Maui, but I think the restaurant closes at 8pm so book early and hit the circa 6pm sunset!
Ian — Google review
What a great place for a very nice dinner. Escargot was rich and yummy. Poke with the avocado wasabi was delicious. I had the duo fish plate with butter fish and a sea bass. That was a nice combo. Fiance had the filet mignon, pretty good cut of beef. Creme Brulee was excellent. Great golf course and ocean views. Hope to play next time.

Nestled in the lush green country of Kula, 808 Bistro is a casual all-day cafe that offers a delightful mix of local dishes and breakfast staples. The restaurant's location provides easy access to various attractions such as Ho'okipa Beach for windsurfing, the artsy town of Paia, and the cowboy town of Makawao.
What a surprise! We were on the loop back from Hana, and Kula Bistro appeared to be one of our first options for food. Reviews and others' photos looked great so we decided to stop. We were not disappointed. The flavors were rich, and the portions were large. Be sure to stop! Pro tip: they're BYOB so be sure to swing into the market across the street if you want a beer or wine.

This place was fantastic. The service was personal and world class. All of the workers there clearly had personal interest in making sure our experience was fantastic and that we loved the food. They even took extra special care to ask what we were doing next what we have already done our vacation and gave us a list of things that we should check out that were local before we left the island. We will absolutely go out of our way to come back to this place again.
Jon D — Google review
We stopped at Kula Bistro for breakfast after watching the sunrise at Haleakalā while on our honeymoon, and it was the best decision! We ordered the corned beef hash eggs benedict and the steak and eggs—hands down the best breakfast we had on the island. Everything was cooked perfectly and so flavorful. The service was wonderful too, super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this spot if you’re in Maui!
Matthew H — Google review
This a hard review, the place is cute and the food is fresh and really good with huge portions. I did however find a thin metal wire in my mouth from my spaghetti, I first thought it was a rosemary stem or somethingbut when I took it out it was definitely metal ....they said it was from the brush they clean the grill with...they offered half off my plate as a sorry. I didn't care to make a stink or anything but the more I thought about it ..thats pretty dangerous and their reaction was pretty non chalant lol ..... Otherwise the food was really good and portions are huge

A bit away from the tourists. Is a awesome tip for a amazing foodtour!! Great service, super cool menu, delicious food! The size is hammerd👌💪! Kaipo, congratulations!! Super good job from your stuff!

We stopped in after visiting the botanical gardens and had an amazing meal here. Great vegetarian options and unique flavor combos. It felt like a high end restaurant off the beaten path. Our servers were so helpful and attentive. We had the cheese curds, caprese salad and coconut shrimp. The highlight was the garlic butter served with the warm bread basket. Don’t miss their unique frozen desserts and pastries. We took some back for later

I was visiting friends in Maui from Chicago and this is one of their favorite restaurants. It is now my favorite too! The location is beautiful, food menu and options are amazing. Portion sizes are very generous. Service is fast. Bakery is absolutely yummy. Staff is attentive, warm, and welcoming. Our server Janice clearly enjoyed her job and people. She made us feel like family.
J L — Google review
The food is some of the best I have had in this trip, price is reasonable for the quality. If you went to Haleakalā national park, stop by here for lunch. It’s a little bit of the drive from the park, but trust me it’s worth it. The food here is on par to New York City restaurants.

Nestled in the heart of Wailuku, Tasty Crust Restaurant is a beloved diner that has been delighting locals and visitors alike for over 50 years. This charming eatery offers a cozy, no-frills atmosphere where you can savor homestyle American-Hawaiian breakfasts and dinners.
We love this spot. Such great service, the gals up front are just the sweetest! Every time my hubby and I show back up, they're like " Hiiiii! You're back!" The atmosphere is warming and relaxed, like a good ol local spot. Not fancy, at all... and thats why we love it. The food tastes good and its out quick! I don't care where you are on the island, Tasty crust is worth the drive! 10/10 ☆☆☆☆☆ ❤️👌🏼🥰

Iconic restaurant that I hope never closes! We go there from time to time mostly to eat breakfast items - hotcakes, waffles, biscuits and also for items that are hard to find at other places - luncheon meat and beef liver. Workers are pleasant and quick.Very no frills kind of place, but kept clean.

Great diner and amazing service. My wife was undecided and our amazing hosts recommendation absolutely hit the spot. We will be back before we head home. Seems like a wonderful spot for locals as we saw plenty of hugs and smiles.

This place was recommended to me by a friend. I got the loco moco and a short stack of the banana mac nut pancakes. I wish I'd gotten a full stack because that pancake was very tasty.
Emily Y — Google review
Local diner with classic American and Hawaiian options. Came here for a late lunch prior to going to Haleakala. I ordered the saimin with veggies and my friend had a tuna melt. We split a Kona mud pie as well. Credit cards are accepted as well as cash. You pay at the register once you’ve received your check. This felt like a homey, local spot. We enjoyed our meal and its cool to see that places with reasonably priced food still exists. There was free parking in the front and back.
Shanelle S — Google review
Sweet restaurant. There are tourists but imma gonna say it’s a locals place cuz there were won’t of them and the vibe was that way. It’s old but it’s clean. Food was yum. They have a parking lot which makes it even easier. What staff super friendly and fairly quick. Order st the table with waitress, get a tab, then pay st the register; like diner style. So if you want to leave a tip but pay by credit card, they ask you how much tip and add it to the bill they ring up, then clip the cash to the check. Interesting. Good prices for amount of food! Fried rice with an egg. Egg was good. Fried rice kinda bland. Overall together was good. Loco Moco. Good! Two scoop rice and one scoop Mac salad. Chicken katsu. Very good! Seemed like big portion. Boneless Korean rib. Not great. I was expecting more flavor like Kalbi. And it loses something without the bone. Mac nut pancake. Average. Liver with onions and bacon. I was told this was very good. I didn’t try cuz I’m not a fan of liver.
G L — Google review
As local as they come and as good as they get, Tasty Crust Cafe is a no frills restaurant serving local Hawaaian eats and at a cheap(er) price than most. Parking is a bit tight as there’s not too much space around so beware of that. Once you enter, you immediately know you’re in a local spot. The place itself is a bit older but it has a charm that you won’t find amongst the over-tourism of Western Maui. We were seated for a party of 5 promptly and service was good. The food was pretty good, we expected a more homemade/traditional meal and that’s what we got. We got orders of the Loco Moco and chicken katsu, the menu is a bit small so prepare for that. The Loco Moco was the best we had on the trip. Savory and well balanced, the hamburger tasty, the rice delicious, the gravy savory. The mac salad was also good, just a hit all around. The chicken katsu was good but not great, lightly breaded and juicy but not too flavorful. Still a good meal regardless of anything and it is great to support a local spot and feel like you’re part of the island and not someone just visiting. If you’re in the Wailuku/Kahului area, definitely consider stopping by for a quick and delicious meal.
Amber L — Google review
Not what tourists might think of being fancy, but very good food at very fair prices. Mostly visited by locals, staff was friendly and attentive, food was delicious and portions big. A place to go when you’re in the area!

Paia Bowls is a charming outdoor cafe in Hawaii that offers top-notch acai bowls with unique toppings like coconut, ashwagandha, papaya, and peanut butter. The vibrant place is a bit hard to spot but has free parking across the street. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the presentation of the bowls is amazing. Visitors recommend trying the Acai Blend Bowl and Blue Majik Bowl for their great ingredients and decent portion sizes.
This place is a little hard to spot if you drive. There a free parking lot cross the street. It's in a little alley. The place look so vibrant. The tables were all in the open and you order at the window. The staff was helpful and Friendly. We picked the Acai Blend Bowl & Blue Majik Bowl. Both had some great ingredients and the portions were a decent size. The presentation was amazing and the taste was good. My favorite has to be the Acai Bowl. Definitely recommend this spot

Best açaí bowls in Maui! Lots of granola and toppings as well! I loved the option that had more of a sorbet/frozen base since I feel like the smoothie texture melts so quickly. It ended up being the perfect texture at the end instead of liquid :) highly recommend!

Amazing!!! We heard about this place from A+K travel bloggers and checked it out on our way to Road to Hana. We arrived before they opened and were the first to order. Sooooo yummy. We drove there from Wailea beach the next day again. My 12-year old son hates anything natural or fruity but he loved it too due to granola content and just being overall super yummy. The only negative is the crazy homeless dude across the street who is constantly there screaming profanities. But it is in some private land so the business cannot do anything about it. They tried. I need to make these in my house in mainland. I can’t stop thinking about these açaí bowls. I ordered the first one in menu plus raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries on top.

They made amazing food! We liked it so much we went back a couple of times! Good place to get something cold to eat, and the berries are sweet and delicious! Try their bowls! Well worth the try!

Great açaí bowls! They have 2 versions, get the Surf Bowl as this one is more like a normal açaí bowl. The other is way too much like a smoothie. The location is just off the road but the have some parking onsite. If that small lot is full there is a larger one across the street. They also have a pretty large seating area but beware of mosquitos, we got attacked instantly. The pricing is fair at $8 for a small and $11 for a large.

Great fresh fruit and reasonable prices for acai bowls. Outdoor seating only but a cute little porch. Great honey and granola. Good coffee as well. All the ingredients are weighed or measured so all bowls are the same.
Cole S — Google review
Love, love, love!!! We got the blue majik and açaí surf and they were both deliciously fresh. Love the fresh shaved coconut and the blue majik became a favorite. Big serving even for a small size. Wish it was closer to Wailea ‘cause we would have gone daily. Must when you’re in Maui - it’s on your way to Road to Hana, or make a special trip. It’s worth it! The service was very friendly, too.

I got the Blue Majik bowl with extra banana and it was sooo good. I've had many bowls from all over and never have I had one with Blue Spirulina, and it was amazing. The local honey tops it off. I got a size small, but the large gets a little more pricey.

Down the Hatch Maui is a casual seafood eatery located in The Wharf Shopping Center on Maui. Despite its unassuming location, it has gained popularity and was even featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives. The restaurant offers a lively atmosphere with an open-air courtyard patio and serves cocktails, shave ice, and tasty fried dishes. Happy hour at Down the Hatch Maui is particularly popular from 3 to 7 p.m.
Amazing food in a chill, casual atmosphere. Come at Happy Hour and dinner for live music. Order at the counter and the wait staff will bring your food to you. The sign on the stairs to enter the restaurant lets you know how long the wait will be for a table. All dishes have fun presentation- This is a great spot to hit for happy hour! The POG Foam Mai Tai, Lava Lava Shrimp, and the Lobster & Crab Mac & Cheese were the best! Parking note: Park on the street for free if you can, or in a side parking lot (for a fee)

Seriously not worth the hype & wait!! This restaurant came well recommended in many social media platforms and reviews and SO….we went & were very excited but was very disappointed. Restaurant is mostly open air & most shaded areas were full that day. Despite telling my host that we would like a more shaded seating area away from the sun, he left us at a seat sun tanning under the sun when there were still some sheltered seats inside the building. We had to move ourselves to find a better shaded seat. We tried the Lobster & Crab Stuffed Grilled Cheese that everybody was raving about & I don’t understand why it has such good reviews. The bread was good, creamy sauce was okay but where is the lobster & crab? I can barely see or taste it! Fish & Chips was fresh but the batter was so poorly made, they were thick and soft. Chips were okay but we were not there for the chips. Lastly, we had the Crispy Coconut Shrimp which was nothing to shout about. Shrimp was fresh but small & it doesn't have the fragrant coconut crispy batter that I have tasted in other places & it was over-powered by the sweet Thai chili & mango salsa. Overall, Down the Hatch didn’t deliver & I will gladly bring my money elsewhere with better service & food anytime. Don't waste your time!

Our group had lunch at Down the Hatch - Maui one afternoon after doing a submarine tour in the area. We saw an order of the Lobster & Crab Stuffed Grilled Cheese going to anther table and knew we had to try it.. and we're so glad we did! It was so very tasty! We also ordered the shrimp tacos, calamari, loaded fries and bacon brussel sprouts.. everything was delicious! Even though it was a hot afternoon, we found a table in the shade overlooking the koi fish pond.. and had the best time!

Times Visited: 1 I came for the fish tacos and they did not disappoint! Crispy, with some really excellent 'melt in your mouth' fish, topped with a bunch of awesome ingredients made for really delightful fish tacos. Probably the best I've ever had! Though there is a part of me that thinks the ingredient ratio is a bit off... Tacos kept leaking ingredients when I would take a bite. But overall, excellent. I am mildly disappointed with the chips and salsa... Chips aren't much to write home about, they're quite hard and while they might be made fresh, they definitely weren't hot when they came to me so that magic is kind of lost. The salsa is also not much to write home about, and desperately needs a change to make the flavor a bit more BOLD. It's such a weak flavor it's hard to notice what it's even made of. But I'm glad it's included with the meal, and would rather have free weak chips and salsa rather than no free side. The Coconut Crystal Shrimp appetizer though? Heavenly PERFECTION. They could not have made a more perfect dish. Sweet, sour, fresh, fruity, tangy, crunchy... Excellent. No notes on that! The staff were helpful, and I liked how hands off the experience was, just ordering from the front (and thank goodness, you can get your own unlimited soda refills), and while the atmosphere was maybe a notch or two too loud, I like how it was a local musician and I'm overall happy with the experience.

I went there fully expecting a tourist trap. NOT! Phenomenal food, very friendly servers, helpful order taker, great vibes, pleasant live music, prompt service. Prices were right and did I say the food was awesome! A “must do” in Maui. Lava lava shrimp with rice and veggies is fantastic! Tacos were fresh and delicious and so was the sampler. I would encourage them to umph-up their drinks though. Cocktails were weak and left a lot to be desired. Stick to beer and standard stuff and your experience will be perfect!
Rakesh G — Google review
The line of people waiting says it all 😋 The food was great great. We asked direction to the guy at the information booth and gave us a free lava lava shrimp cocktail ticket 🎟 and that lava shrimp was onolicious. The foods are all so delicious. Price is just right. Service is great as they put us in a lower table because we have a small kid with us. Our server was 👌 awesome.

Arrived at 10:20am. Before the lunch menu switch and I didn’t want to wait so we ordered breakfast. You have to order at the counter and then find a table. We all found suitable items. The women ordered a mimosa flight and enjoyed it to the end. The food came out quick and hot. Everyone finished their plate no problem. Happy hour here starts from 2-5 with entertainment. Definitely work the visit.

A great place for a meal! The food was great. We had the pork and grilled cheese and crab sandwiches. Definitely try the grilled cheese! Plenty of shops to explore after your meal. Update: came back a second time for breakfast. Food is still super delicious! Definitely go for breakfast as well!

Honolua Store #89, located in Kapalua, Maui, is a one-stop shop offering a variety of conveniences. The store features a barista and full deli along with an array of items such as snorkel gear, beer/wine, musubi, souvenirs, beach towels, and banana bread. It's known for its friendly service and aloha spirit.
Loved this place! We ate here every day for lunch while staying at the Ritz Carlton up the road. Not only was it extremely affordable compared to everything else in the area, it was fantastic. You can get high quality sashimi and sushi for ridiculously low prices, and they have plenty of other Hawaiian snacks and entrees to choose from. Also would be a good spot to grab souvenirs or sunscreen if you need it!

The ube pancakes are a must. We got them two days in a row. Ube pancake with ube syrup made them really tasty. Prices are significantly lower than sit down restaurants and the food quality is the same. We also tried the Deluxe Island Breakfast with Portuguese sausage and potatoes. Excellent food, reasonable prices, beer, drinks, souvenirs, and nicotine products.

I highly recommend stopping by the grocery store if you’re looking for simple souvenirs or basic items. One absolute treat for just five dollars is the pineapple soft-serve Dole Whip—a perfect evening dessert to share while listening to the roosters and enjoying the peaceful scenery.

This place is a daily stop for the guests at the near by hotel. They have food, drinks, snacks, souvenirs all for sale. The banana bread is very tasty. I did not try any of their hot food selection but they offer plenty.

Great grocery store with a drinks counter that has boba and hot food. Came here after hiking the Kapalua Coastal Trail and we availed of the cold drinks they had. We ordered honey green tea and a mango green tea with boba. They have groceries and souvenirs as well; we grabbed some aloe vera for our sunburns. There’s outdoor seating and a parking lot so everything was very convenient.

This is a fantastic all-in-one stop, featuring a grocery store, gift shop, and even a deli for quick bites. The store is well-stocked with essentials, gifts, and fresh deli options, making it perfect for both locals and visitors. It’s clean, organized, and the friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.

Ritz Carlton is awesome and food was decent/good but lunch at the poolside cost an arm and a leg! So glad this spot is literally 5 min walk away and the food was delicious and prices comparatively was Heaven on Earth. Life saver! So many choices!

We stopped here to pickup some beach grinds. ATMOSPHERE: If you haven't been here in a while, you definitely need to go back and check them out. They've done yet another re-transformation into ultra modernness. Entry is now from the side along Office Rd. The perimeter still boasts covered outdoor seating with nice views of the green Kapalua Resort. The inside has totally shifted into a very visually-inviting experience and draws you back towards the takeout counter & coffee bar which is reminiscent of a modern city eatery complete with big & bright electronic menu screens. THE STORE: It's a mix of coffee bar, deli, sundries, groceries, produce, clothing, and wine/beer/alcohol. F&B: Coffee bar, breakfast foods, hot dogs, burgers, chicken wings, sandwiches & salads. FOOD: Honolua Swiss Mushroom Burger If this is offered on any menu, I HAVE to try it! This one did not disappoint. I'd consider it a medium-sized burger which was just right for me. The homemade patty was juicy, the bun soft, and the overall flavor delicious. Off to the side were lettuce, tomatoes and a big quartered dill pickle. Fries came with it (a very generous amount no less,) and I opted for seasoned curly fries which shot this sucker to 5 shiny stars. All this for just over $9? Thank you for that. Saimin Not bad at all, and a good portion size to boot. The dark broth had that traditional saimin-flavor of pork and veggies and came loaded with way too much luncheon meat, sliced scrambled eggs and green onions. The noodles were thick and cooked nicely. My only complaint is that it was difficult to spoon the broth from the tall container. In addition to the usual snack items, I also was introduced to Chic Naturals, a local company selling chick peas in a variety of flavors. Maui Onion? Yes please! Tasty and healthy. SERVICE: For deli service, you order and pickup at the counter then pay at the front of the store. The male employee taking orders was friendly and repeated back orders to assure accuracy. The female cashier was friendly and quick. OVERALL: A one-stop-shop for odds and ends complete with a mouth-watering eatery.

Nestled in Lahaina, Hawaii, 808 Grindz Cafe is a must-visit for those craving homemade Hawaiian-inspired breakfast and brunch. This casual and laid-back cafe offers an array of local favorites, from Macadamia Nut Pancakes to Kalua-Pork Hash and Seafood Omelettes.
The best breakfast in Lahaina! 💯 The mac nut pancakes with vanilla mac nut sauce are life changing - doooooo it! We're also huge fans of the 808 Grinz Moco & 808 Grinz Attack 🤤. Everything is delicious, 10/10 would recommend.

Best breakfast in Lahaina. Thanks Maka! - You can pay cash or Venmo. - There are about five spots to park right in front or you can pull in around the corner, into the food truck area. - We came for breakfast twice and only had one group ahead of us in line once, so don’t expect a huge line. - There are three picnic tables (two under shade) to sit at or one bench.

Unfortunately, I stopped here on my last morning on Maui but I wish I would have found it sooner! Amazing food from kind people. Loco moco with fried rice was one of the best meals I had in Maui. Be patient, everything is cooked to order but it is well worth the time.

This place is the best place hands down. My husband and I discovered then back in 2018 when on our honeymoon and every day if we could we would come back and the lines were long, but definitely worth the wait. Since the fire, we are so glad to see their food still touching lives. Best service, best breakfast hands down. Doesn't matter what you pick, it is all delicious, quick and made with love. Looking forward to seeing them again next year.

So glad we goin this food truck and stop while on Maui. Best breakfast we had the entire trip. Moco was delicious but I will dream if that mac-nilla sauce for ever. The pancakes were perfectly made and that sauce made it next level. Don’t sleep on this place.

"Ono"loco moco. Sooooo good. Thank you for the aloha you shared in your smile and the food. Get it with the fried rice. It is to die for and a healthy helping for one person. We were easily able to split it and still be full and ready for the day. The gravy is flowing and the beef is delicious. Well worth the stop. We took a photo but unfortunately the meal didn't last long enough for my phone to boot up the camera app. So no photo of it as it served but I did spare you a photo of the empty box it came in LOL.

We had to try the loco moco here and it did not disappoint. My husband said it’s the best food he’s eaten since we’ve been here. We subbed in the fried rice & got our eggs over medium. Perfection. One order was enough for us to share since we planned to go to a fruit truck shortly after our visit. We’re dreaming of when we get to come back for more.

Nestled in the Keokea enclave of Kula on the serene slopes of Haleakala, Grandma's Coffee House is a beloved island institution with a rich history. Named after Minnie Franco, who traded hand-picked Maui beans in 1918, this family-operated venue offers a charming atmosphere and delectable baked goods amidst breathtaking views at its 3,000-foot elevation.
Small bakery / coffee shop / breakfast spot on our travels to Haleakalā NP. We tried it all too. A small coffee, a latte, two entrees, bread to go and a day old crisp for the table. The service was kind and quick. Order at the counter and find yourself a seat. They’ll bring out your food to your table. Spent about $55 on everything listed above. Delicious food, great coffee.

Truly great place for breakfast!! Another guest told us to get the eggs Benedict, glad we did, since they were truly the best we ever had! Really cute local vibes coffee shop with counter service serving a full breakfast. They have espresso drinks and a case of house made baked goods as well. Breakfast was outstanding. A bit of a wait to get our food out but it was worth it. There is seating inside and on a covered patio. We visited in October around 9 am on a Tuesday and found parking l, stood in line to order for a few minutes and sat at a table right away-it was moderately busy. Definitely recommend this spot for the food and atmosphere!!!

After a morning visit to Haleakala, this spot is a MUST visit. Nonetheless, the drive here is gorgeous which is part of Mauis upcountry area! I think we had a little too much to eat, but I do not regret it. I had the Tropi-Mango Muffin, Ice Coffee, Berry Waffle, and two breakfast dishes that really hit the spot. Please be patient when waiting in line. There a are plenty of tourists and the options of food and delicious sweets make it difficult to decide on what to get. Though I didn't have everything on the menu, I did speak to a local and she told me she visits 1-2 times a week and has had everything on the menu. This speaks volume! Go-go-go! Enjoy and Mahalo for reading this. 🤙🏾

Spent a great deal of time reading menus online looking for a good veggie burger and finally gave up and just started walking around reading menus as we passed by. Was recommended and praised for their espresso Martini from another local shop, so we decided to stop in and try. Wow! I loved this place so much. The vibe was great super relaxed. Football was on the TV's. Very comfy chairs that will actually fit your butt. Also the best macha latte I've had on the island so far. Our waitress, Jade, 😍😍😍🖤🖤🖤! Amazing. So nice. So helpful. Just the best. The food was phenomenal. Great breakfast. Just enough to be stuffed. Great variety as well including vegan and gluten free options. It seems they have something going on every night as well! Bingo on Tuesdays, trivia on Wednesdays, and karaoke on Thursdays! So much fun. 🖤

Cool open air bar near the end of the Paia downtown area. Great spot to catch a mainland game. We had the pork nachos. The meat is very sweet and they could be more generous with the toppings. Not very crowded at lunch on a weekday. Perhaps fewer tourists walk down to eat here and stay closer to the center of town?? Large open space with some outdoor seating around the edges. The town is great. There are 2 scooped ice cream shops in town, 1 Gelato spot and 1 shaved ice place. Visited Paia 3 times during our 6 day visit.

After a day at Baldwin beach and being ripped off by an unscrupulous taxi service….my group was hesitant in deciding where to go. After being cursed at crossing the street by some dodgers fan transplant we decided to split groups and come on over here. Due to the groups hesitation..I rallied 3 to come inside this place. Man I was awestruck by the spaciousness of the interior. We had rapid service and waters poured after being parched walking about. Our server was a gentleman from New Jersey originally who treated us kindly and was attentive to our requests. The coffee here was superb along with the varied culinary options offered. I ordered a special pork sandwich with spam that was just the correct amount of heat spice! This place is rocking and the servers were so polite! Staff was welcoming and food scrumptious! I could give 10 stars honestly! Well worth it!

Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice in Kihei and Lahaina is a must-visit spot for shave ice enthusiasts. They are known for their exotic flavors like pickled mango, lychee, and passion fruit. The shave ice is made with gourmet Maui-made ice cream at the bottom, extra fine shaved ice, and topped with their delicious local favorite juices and other optional toppings.
We have tried a few shaved ice places on the island and this is easily the best one! There is plenty of flavors to choose from and they also have something called snow cap which is a condensed sweeten milk for an additional $1. I added this to my grape/ orange ice and it was good. My son got the cotton candy and it tastes just like it. My wife got the mango coconut and she said it was good as well. The only issue is the long lines, this is worth it as they do not skimp on anything. We got the keiki (kids) which was plenty for each of us. This is a must go place if you have about an hour to kill. From the photos you will see from where it was taken it was about 35 minutes of a wait. Don't pass this place up just cause the lines are long. The parking is terrible but get past that and you will enjoy.
Jus C — Google review
What a great local spot! You can tell how popular it is because even on a Wednesday afternoon the place was packed. If you’re looking for an authentic Hawaiian shaved ice experience, this is the quintessential place to go. I’ll admit, I’m not usually a huge fan of shaved ice, but the flavor combinations here were fantastic and the toppings were really unique. You even have the option to add ice cream, which makes it extra fun. The vibe is beachy, laid-back, and full of local charm. Yes, there was a long line, but it was absolutely worth the wait. The shaved ice itself was perfection—generous portions, bold flavors, and plenty of toppings. They definitely don’t skimp here. If you’re in Maui, this is a must-visit treat spot.

Popular shaved ice spot with multiple locations. Came here for an afternoon sweet treat and ordered the Local Motion with the snow cap and macadamia nut ice cream. The Ulu size was good for two and we really enjoyed the mixture of the condensed milk with the shaved snow. You pay and order first before receiving your order. They have a free parking lot. Be careful with the birds because they are aggressive in trying to steal a bite of your dessert.

Best shave ice I’ve had during my vacation! Their ice is fluffy and holds its shape and the syrups are concentrated and flavorful. We ordered the Jem’s jam which had strawberry, guava and pickled mango, with the hi ling mui drizzle. It’s sweet and tangy, absolutely delicious!
Caitlin L — Google review
One of the best shaved ice! Got it with mochi and vanilla ice cream. There is chicken roaming around so be careful friendly but they do like to nibble on shaved ice cream too! Popular with tourist!
Jennifer K — Google review
Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice is hands down the best shave ice I’ve had in Hawaii — and I’ve tried four different places! The texture is unbelievably soft and fluffy, and the flavors taste so fresh and vibrant. You can really tell they use high-quality syrups and ingredients. The service was friendly, and everything was made perfectly. If you’re going to try shave ice anywhere in Hawaii, make sure it’s here. Nothing else compares — 10/10 recommend and will definitely be going back before departure.

Slappy Cakes is a lively diner in Lahaina that offers a unique dining experience where patrons can create their own pancakes at the table. The restaurant provides a range of fixings such as blueberries, bacon, chocolate, and cheddar, along with various syrups for guests to unleash their inner chefs. In addition to its all-day American comfort food menu, including make-your-own pancakes, Slappy Cakes also caters to gluten-free and vegan dietary preferences.
Slappy Cakes is a large family friendly breakfast/brunch only restaurant. Opens at 7am, closes at 12pm noon. Located just before the Aston Ka'anapali Shores Resort, right off the highway. The first visit, my husband ordered the Slappy Moco, a beef patty, 2 over easy eggs, rice n house made mushroom gravy. I ordered the Brekky hash, a tall formed circle of soft potato chunks, peppers, onions, spinach, n zucchini, topped with 2 poached eggs and micro greens. We also shared the pancakes with generous portion of fresh blueberries and house made lemon curd. I also had the pineapple juice. Second visit, we took advantage of the $10 value off of the pancake batter bottle. There is a non-stick grill in the middle of the table, that you squeeze batter out of the bottle n grill your own pancakes at the table. A fun interactive activity for the family. Numerous choices of pancake add on toppings. The coconut syrup was exceptionally delicious You can also order pancakes the kitchen makes for you We also shared the mushroom egg scramble w/onions, spinach n goat cheese, w/potatoes ,the wheat toast is exceptionally delicious, and a side of Portuguese sausage. We also got a side of sausage gravy, which was perfect on top of the potatoes. They have morning cocktails n mimosas. I got a virgin pineapple, coconut whip drink. Our server Juampi, was friendly, attentive and reminded us to use the $10 off pancake coupon. I highly recommend this place 5 out of 5 stars

The place is kind of rundown but they have some tables with griddles in them so you can make your own pancakes so that’s fun. Food was ok. Our server was nice and the drinks were good. A bit overpriced for what you get. I got the slappy moco. Husband got biscuit and gravy. We weren’t impressed.

If you're in Maui, a visit to this local favorite breakfast spot is a must. The food was delicious and bursting with flavor, truly showcasing the island’s fresh ingredients. The friendly service made the experience even better. Although there was a long line when I arrived, the host did an excellent job seating everyone efficiently. Prices are reasonable for Maui, and the standout was the refreshing dragonfruit lemonade absolutely fabulous. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to enjoy a hearty breakfast with a charming, rustic Maui vibe.

Great place for breakfast, however it is expensive for eggs and bacon. There is also a kitchen fee that I have never encountered before. They have a really fun option if you want a pancake breakfast, you can grill them yourself at your table. The tables have a built in griddle in the middle. Our server Britney was awesome, friendly and attentive. The food was great too.

Was recommended this place by a friend. We came here twice during our stay in Ka’anapali. We walked both times since it is so close to where we’re staying, but the parking lot seemed to have plenty of parking spots. We were seated immediately both times. Our server today was great but unfortunately I don’t remember our name. I really enjoyed making my own pancakes the 1st visit. The 2nd time I got strawberry pancakes & eggs. My husband got the grand slap both times. While the food was tasty, I’m not giving 5 stars due to concerns of cleanliness. Both visits my husband was given dirty utensils. Today, my plate of eggs had a small green piece on it even though none of our food had anything green in it. And today, my husband’s pancakes had a hair IN it. They did take off his food from our bill which was nice, but cleanliness is super important when it comes to a restaurant

So good, we went there for breakfast and they give nice sized portions. You can also make your own pancakes but we didn't choose that option. But very good, 10/10 would recommend!

Slappy Cakes is such a fun and unique breakfast spot—but a quick tip: get here early or be ready for a bit of a wait, especially on weekends. It’s totally worth it though. The big draw? You get to make your own pancakes right at the table, which is a blast whether you're with friends, family, or just feeling creative. Highly recommend trying all the batter flavors—they each bring something different and tasty to the griddle. Don’t skip the specials either; the menu rotates some gems that are well worth exploring. The loco moco is just okay, but honestly, everything else is solid. If you're into avocado toast, theirs is next level—fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Overall, Slappy Cakes delivers a memorable and delicious DIY breakfast experience you’ll want to come back for.

How could you not want to check out a place with a name like this? Don't fret if you're not a fan of self-cooking as you can order pancakes made via the kitchen. ATMOSPHERE: Remember the restaurant A Pacific Cafe? This was their former digs. The place is huge! An immense central bar greets you, with a mix of spacious seating that includes tables with built-in griddles. MENU: Pancakes, eggs, benedicts, cocktails. BEVERAGE: POG Mimosa POG stands for Passion Orange Guava, the infamous blend of juices created by Maui's former Haleakala Dairy, now operating as Meadow Gold. The juices blend nicely with some bubbly to create a tastier concoction than plain old OJ. FOOD: Buttermilk & Chocolate Pancake Batters For the do-it-yourself griddle chefs, you receive an 8 oz. squeeze bottle of batter in which you can create works of art, should you please. The buttermilk batter was surprisingly creamy and flavorful; the chocolate version too chocolatey for me. SERVICE: We walked in without reservations on a Sunday morning around 11am and had a short 5-minute wait. Female server was very professional and checked on us often. OVERALL: Fun concept. Not as pricey as the word-of-mouth news was reporting. Good food and service.

Café Des Amis, located in Paia Maui, is a charming eatery that offers a unique blend of Mediterranean and Indian cuisine. The restaurant's relaxed atmosphere and courtyard with live music create a delightful dining experience. Known for its authentic French and Mediterranean crepes as well as flavorful Indian curries, Café Des Amis also serves Italian lattes and an assortment of breakfast options.
Very lovely experience. Owner is very sweet and friendly too! Good was amazing and very soothing. Many vegetarian options. We loved the Curry bowl with Butternut Squash, Garbanzo Beans and spinach in coconut milk. The strawberry crepe was big every crispy but nicely made.

We had a good lunch in the restaurant which had a very relaxed and amazing vibe. The greenery around is very calming. We chose this place since it had quite a few vegetarian options compared to other restaurants. We had a savory margarita pancake with the buckwheat and chia base and butternut squash and chickpea curry with mango chutney. The pancake was a little bland and the curry was flavorful but low on salt ( which we added on top). The service was amazing. The restroom for the place however is very tiny.

Open air restaurant with very cool atmosphere and decor. Tasty flatbread and curries. The only negative was the service. We hardly saw our server because she was too busy talking and sitting at another table. She took our order, gave us our food, and the bill (only after we got up and looked for her). She never checked on us or came to refill our water once.

AMAZING FOOD and equally impressive aesthetics. Service was also top-notch. My wife and I found this place while walking around Paia Market! We wish we had found it sooner! They do Indian food better than ALL the other Indian restaurants you’ll find on Maui. Highly recommend that you visit them 🙌

Friends of mine have been here before so I knew I'd be in good hands. ATMOSPHERE: The indoor portion is pretty tiny and open-air. The outdoor courtyard with gravel floor is pretty spacious and protected from the elements by the building walls, eaves, and umbrellas. MENU: Savory and sweet crepes, and different curries. FOOD: Ham & Aged Cheddar Cheese Crepe I really liked it. I never associated crepes as savory, only sweet. Now I'm a total fan! The crepe was just right in thickness and the ham & cheese had great flavor. It came with a leafy green salad with a balsamic dressing. Hummus and Pita Bread On paper this sounds boring, but man, the hummus was absolutely delish! Some kind of tasty oil sat atop the hummus and made it even easier to spread. The pita bread was fresh and moist. Chicken Avocado Crepe I loved it! The crepe was perfectly cooked and filled with fresh avocado, moist chicken and other subtle seasonings with sour cream to the side. The small side of green leaf salad (my favorite veggie) went well with the crepe. It's also an ideal portion size. Banana and Chocolate Crepe We all shared this for dessert. I was a bit put-off that it came with a thin caramel sauce pooled at the bottom of the plate as it's not my favorite sweetener. I had just a few bites as it was too sugary for me. SERVICE: Our female server was friendly and professional. OVERALL: Good food, good prices and good service.

This place is a hidden gem. Their indian food is better than many restaurants in India. I ordered mixed vegetable curry and it was finger licking good. It came with complimentary chutney of choice. Highly recommended.

Nestled in the heart of Central Maui, Farmacy Health Bar Wailuku is a delightful spot that embodies the essence of healthy eating with a tropical twist. This no-frills counter-service eatery shines particularly bright with its acai bowls, which can be customized with an array of island-grown fruits like bananas, papayas, and lilikoi.
I got the BBQ jackfruit sandwich on focaccia with cheese, and lentil potato soup. They were both absolutely delicious. I was actually heading to a different sandwich spot down the road when I walked past this place. It smelt so enticing, I ended up eating here instead. The person at the counter was pleasant and helpful. I asked him what he recommended and he suggested the BBQ jackfruit sandwich. It was a little pricey but it's pandemic times and small restaurants are going out of business so I think the price is appropriate to keep places like this afloat. It was also very filling so it lasted two meals which made it a lot more bang for my buck (and I have a large appetite!). I was only in town for a shopping trip so I'm sad I won't be able to buy food from here more often but if you're in the area, it's definitely worth a try! Healthy and delicious.

If you think eating healthy means sacrificing flavor, Farmacy Health Bar in Wailuku is here to change your mind—and possibly your entire outlook on life. This little gem is serving up fresh, local, and organic goodness. Speaking of açai bowls, let’s get into it. The Da Cove Bowl? A masterpiece. The açai is thick, creamy, and blended to perfection—none of that watered-down smoothie nonsense. Topped with local honey, granola, fresh fruit, and a sprinkle of magic (probably), it’s the kind of bowl that makes you wonder if you should start eating like this every day. But don’t stop there—the Poi Bowl is an absolute must-try. It’s a delicious nod to Hawaiian culture, with fresh poi, banana, and coconut, bringing a unique twist to the usual açai lineup. And if you’re more of a savory person, their health wraps and sandwiches are loaded with fresh, local ingredients that actually make kale exciting. The vibe? Chill, friendly, and very Maui. The kind of place where everyone is on island time, and nobody is rushing you out the door. Whether you’re fueling up for an adventure or just need a guilt-free treat after too many mai tais, Farmacy Health Bar is a no-brainer.

This Farmacy Club is the best vegan sandwich on the island. However, it's much better than the other options I've tried on their menu, including a smoothie, juice, and another carrot-based sandwich. I will go out of my way to just get this sandwich again.

We were highly suggested this place from some friends because they said they had some really solid açaí bowls... and I am always looking for some really good açaí bowls! From all the past places we have visited for açaí in Hawaii, I have been pretty disappointed, but we were told that the açaí here was some good stuff. At first, it was very confusing on how to order, and what was available, but the super pleasant and nice gent behind the counter helped us through everything. We got a wai side bowl with mango, pineapple, and bananas, and then a cacao bowl with pineapple, blueberries, and bananas. The amount you get for the price is really good, and they really pack in a lot of amazingly tasty, juicy, and big pieces of fruit! The fruit was also insanely fresh, and I could eat the fresh fruit all day any day. The other fixings in the bowl were also really fresh and really solid. Now, the actual açaí, the star of the dish was not bad at all. I've had a few açaí bowls prior to coming here, and I was highly disappointed in those, but the açaí here completely blows out the past açaí I have had on the islands. The açaí has a pretty good consistency, even though it was more on the watery side, it was still somewhat thick and has that sorbet consistency that I love. The taste itself was pretty good too, and I could definetly taste a little açaí in the mix. Overall, I wasn't disappointed, and this was by far the best açaí we had on Maui. I love the quantity of what you get, and I love the amazing fruit on it. Definetly if you are in the area, you should give this place a shot, because they also have a wide variety of other meals as well.
Kalen G — Google review
It is a wonderful intention to have more healthy food options, but there has been an issue here almost every time I go. There is one ordering area so if the person ordering is having trouble, asking questions, or taking a while to order the line just backs up out the door and they do nothing. Smoothies are very thin, not thick. Portions are small. If you have food allergies, like dairy, beware. They have put cheese on items when I told them I was allergic and they took some off the top and gave it back to me to eat with cheese still in the salad. I think the one in Pukalani is a little better than the one in Wailuku, but if you can, you are better off eating at home.

we had a very delicious soup and creative acai bowl. the smoothie was very good as well. good atmoshpere inside but no possibity sitting outside. prices rather hight. but 5 stars for the food quality.
Dominique F — Google review
Note: Bring your own spoon because they use cheap wooden shave ice style spoons. I came here on my daily search for Acai Bowls because they have good reviews online and were the closest place to me on this beautiful and hot Wailuku morning. Parking is a bit hard to get around Main Street so I parked a few blocks away and burnt some calories in anticipation of breakfast. Walking in I thought the place had a very healthy vibe and was looking forward to my acai bowl. The bowl was just average to me, not hating on it or anything, I just expected more....The search for the perfect Acai bowl continues!

Choice Health Bar Paia is an acclaimed health food restaurant and juice bar situated in the heart of Paia town. The establishment offers a variety of options for those seeking a healthy lifestyle, including fresh juices, smoothies, acai bowls, kale salads, and snacks.
Clean, healthy food tucked into this little surf town like it belongs—sincere, sun-drenched, maybe a bit smug, but it earns it. You walk in and you're greeted by the kind of people who actually enjoy kale. Everything here is raw, organic, alive—but in that good way, not the expensive LA nonsense way. It’s not cheap—don’t fool yourself—but compared to what the resorts charge for a sad banana and watery green juice, it’s a steal. Load up: smoothies, bowls, juices, grab everything that catches your eye, then toss it all in the mini fridge back at your hotel. Suddenly you’ve got breakfast and lunch sorted for days, and your gut will thank you. If you’re trying to do Maui on a ramen-noodle budget, this place might hurt. But if you want real food that actually makes you feel good—and you’re okay spending a little more than the grocery store—this is where you go.
Winston C — Google review
I was so delighted when I spotted a café sign promoting a healthy lifestyle — of course I had to step inside. I ordered my favorite dish: açaí with liliko‘i (passion fruit). First of all, the portion of açaí was literally tiny. And the liliko‘i? Not a single piece in sight. As a vegetarian with a very fine-tuned sense of taste, I noticed right away. The staff tried to explain that the fruit was “hidden” somewhere in the branded açaí mix 🙂 — but let’s be honest, such excuses don’t work on seasoned California tourists who’ve been to Hawaii more than once. The granola portion, on the other hand, was enormous — probably a horse would’ve been thrilled about it. In short, if you go to Island Vintage Coffee at Whalers Village and try their açaí liliko’i moana bowl, you’ll understand exactly what I mean. 🌺

Charley's Restaurant & Saloon is a beloved Maui establishment that has been serving up American comfort food and hosting live music since 1969. The cozy, old-timey restaurant is adorned with photos of famous musicians like Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson, who is known to make occasional appearances. The spot exudes a laid-back vibe that attracts both locals and visitors alike.
Before we headed up to the road to Hana we stopped of at Charley's, in Paia, and it turned out to be a great idea. The portions are a good size for the prices. The pancakes are incredible, I had the macadamia one, plan on sharing though because there huge. That Moco Loco was ridiculously delicious and the build yourself omelette rocked. Plan on stopping by and treating yourself, family and friends to and amazing meal.

Great little place full of awesome art and memorabilia from Willie Nelson and friends! Breakfast was nice and the prices are fair. Decent portion sizes made it easy for us to manage the Road to Hana without having to stop for snacks along the way. I stopped here for breakfast before hitting the road to Hana. Charley’s was really unique and I enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. I ordered Charley’s World Famous Pancake and wow, it was not what I expected. The pancake was HUGE 😱😂 and it was sooooo good. No lie, probably the best pancake I’ve ever had lol. There’s lots of interesting art around the restaurant and even a giant replica of Willie Nelson’s guitar, so that’s a plus. If I were to do the Road to Hana one more time, I’d definitely stop here for breakfast again. Highly recommend 👍🏼

Charley's ROCKS! Outstanding service, fresh and delicious food, great ambiance! In Maui for a few weeks of September to get married, we spent a four day weekend in Pa'ia and ate at Charley's every day... sometimes twice. Not for lack of other places to eat in the area (*ahem* don't really wanna dig on the competition but....) Anyway! We did the road to Hana a week later, and yup, we just had to randomly stop at Charley's for breakfast, this time with a party of 12! They handled us with such ease and grace, every, single, time. We basically tried everything on the menu ... original party of 2 went to 4 went to 6 then 8 and well, just trust me on this one... everything we all collectively ate over the course of those five days was surprisingly great, even in rush hour crowds! And absolutely reasonably priced - you're in Maui - don't fret over a bit more than you're used to, just be happy to support the local economy. Can't go wrong here, Charley's will be our first stop next time we visit!

What a fantastic place to stop. Owned by Willie Nelson and has some of his memorabilia hanging on the walls along with some cool paintings of him and other celebrities who have visited. Nalu's South Shore Grill is an open-air eatery in Kihei, Maui that offers a delightful dining experience. The restaurant prides itself on serving seasonal, locally sourced Hawaiian recipes and occasionally features live music. Their breakfast menu boasts hearty comfort food like the loco moco made with local eggs and grass-fed beef, as well as the Black and Blue ahi Benedict and fluffy pineapple-banana pancakes.
Stopped by on a Wednesday evening around 8pm and although it was quite busy, we only had to wait about 10 minutes in line to place our orders and we were able to find a table that suited us best. Overall, we were quite impressed with the quality of service and food served at this popular local restaurant. All staff here are kept quite busy but are friendly and helpful and seemed happy to be working there. Crab Cake & Greens was good with and a nothing special crab cake but with a very fresh and tasty organic salad. Pacific Mahi Mahi was excellent with very tasty Wild caught Pacific Mahi Mahi, sautéed with lilikoi-piccata vinaigrette. Fish & Green Bean Fries with the beer battered Pacific Mahi Mahi, served golden brown was the best deep-fried fish I've had in a long time. Green bean fries were interesting but not that interesting. Roasted Beets & Goat Cheese was excellent with very fresh and tasty roasted beets, organic greens, goat cheese, etc. Ahi Club was exceptional with fresh island yellow fin tuna seared rare, topped with applewood smoked bacon over crisp sourdough. Nalu’s Raw Salad was fresh and tasty. The Straight Up Burger was perfectly cooked medium rare with swiss cheese and bacon and the Korean Bulgogi Burger were both delicious and filling. The toasted brioche bun was perfect for these burgers. With reasonably priced delicious local food, service with a smile and very good live music (although a bit too loud for my tastes), this was our favorite place to dine in Maui. We will be back if we have a chance again.

First time at Nalu’s .I have been reading about it for years and today we checked it out! We Went for Happy Hour and it was great! The Mai Tai’s for $8 is a great price and you can taste the rum! Really good and a fabulous price! We had the happy hour ahi which was really good and worth $7.00. The calamari was good but probably wouldn’t get it again. The ribs were outstanding but for 3 small pieces for happy hour I would skip the happy hour ribs and go for the full order of ribs with rice, Mac salad and kimchi! We ended up ordering a full rib meal to share after the happy hour order because they are that good! Had two Mai Tai’s each because they are that good and such a great price! Not watered down or weak! Really good! Staff is friendly and attentive! No dishes left on the table and everyone is so friendly!

It was one of the only non-hotel affiliated breakfast places we could find on this side of the island and I'm glad we did. Many great breakfast options. We had the pancakes, french toast, Portuguese sausage side, and vegetarian Benedict between the 3 of us. Everything was very tasty. We liked the open air setup. Would definitely return for another meal.

Nice bar/restaurant located in a shopping center. Line up and preorder your food and a server brings it to your tip. Ate indoors (no air conditioning). There’s outdoor seating. The menu was fairly priced and didn’t seem marked up. We had the crab cakes, chicken and waffles, vegetarian bowl and poke bowl. Everything was decent but nothing to rave about. Looks like a nice spot for happy hour.

Nalu’s is such a unique spot where everything comes together: delicious food, generous portions, fast service, happy hours, and live music. The atmosphere feels both casual and vibrant, making it one of the must-visit places on Maui. A quick tip: check the menu in advance! Here you order and pay first, then grab a table. Don’t be scared off by the long line at the entrance — it moves really fast thanks to this system. Overall: tasty food, great vibes, and a true island experience. Highly recommended!

Nalu’s is one of my go-to spots in Kihei! The staff is always friendly, upbeat, and makes you feel right at home. The location is perfect — easy to get to, with a relaxed open-air vibe that really captures the Maui lifestyle. I stopped in for happy hour and everything was on point. I had the seared ahi, Hawaiian short ribs, and ahi tacos — all absolutely delicious and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The portions are generous for the price, and you can really taste the care that goes into their food. Their happy hour is one of the best around — great prices, generous portions, and awesome drinks. The cocktails are fresh, creative, and the perfect pairing to the food and island atmosphere. If you’re looking for a spot that’s got amazing food, great people, and good vibes all around, Nalu’s is it.

Had a great breakfast here. Danny the manager of the day checked in to see if we needed anything. He brought over a small glass so we could try their house made hot sauce. Wow, you know i loved this place as I just spent 45 minutes writing a review and it didnt post. Ugh. Bit You need this one. From the staff to the food Nalu's South Shore Grill is amazing. First off. Here is how it works. You walk up to the hostess and order there. then you will be given and number and you can find your seat. They will bring g you your food order. They have 3 varieties of flavored water. Im not sure if they change but I went with strawberry filled water with fresh berries and mint. Yummy. We went with the grilled cheese and fries with a bowl of fresh fruit for the kid. The apple brie burger with kettle cooked chips perfect blend of savory and seret with a little crisp from the apple, the mahi mahi special with the lilikoi, ginger, caper sauce.... let me tell you this one steals the show. I will attach pics. Beautiful fresh colorful entree with a flavor profile I've seen in high end fine dining restaurants. But at real people prices and fantastic portion size. The sauce was a blend of flavors that take you in a real trip. You will want to go back every chance you can. The rice had some pink ginger on top and the greens had a vinaigretteband it wasnt drowned in it oerfectly done. This dish is a must try. Fish cooked to perfection no "fishy" taste just a perfectly blended medley of deliciousness. We added a beet and goat cheese salad and the surprising addition of pine nuts and some secrets leads me to say that while I've had this salad at many different restaurants this was by far the best I've had to date. EVER. There is a bar with seating and it looked social and fun. It is a safe environment and ladies that is important. Nalu's wins my heart as a musician because they ahve live artists performing nightly and wonderful happy hour specials. This would be a great place on a date or single. Casual seating for the restaurant and kid friendly. The hostess to the servers will make you feel like family. Everything was explained to us newbies and I was impressed with how cheerful and fun everyone was that was on staff. They clearly treat their people well and it shows. I can not wait to go again. We grabbed a couple t shirts on the way out. Plenty of free parking. Casual seating (we had a chicken run through) so cute. No problem hearing each other as we sat and talked avout the insane flavors of the food. The kettle chips... Best ever and clearly made fresh there. Every time my sister turned her head i stole her chips lol. My niece loved her grilled cheese and the child is picky. The fruit bowl was beautiful and fresh fresh fresh. As was every dish. Do yourself a favor and go to Nalu's NOW. Tell them Meek sent you and you need to try the lilikoi fresh fish pronto. Perfect for a date and or family outing.

Amazing view overlooking pool and beach during sunset, Hawaiian/asian fusion with super interesting and thought out flavors and combinations. Type of place where you just trust the menu and the chefs to give you the best bites of your life. Every single part of this meal, from the drinks to the apps to the main course was absolutely divine. Heaven on earth.

Our server John provided exceptional service helping us understand the menu. He was very tentative, ensuring we always had water and drinks filled. The food was delicious, the farm to table concept came alive here, offering fresh and local ingredients from around the island. Between the four of us who dined, we shared our food, having the chance to taste more than what we ordered. Highly recommend sharing and here are some highlighted menu options: Grilled Octopus Salad, Coconut Clams, Waygu Hanger, Watermelon Salad (Apps), Risotto, Seared Scallops, Maui Caught Fish (Entrees). I wanted to extend a special thank you to John and Mike for an enjoyable dinner service and experience, the live music from below provide a special touch to an amazing dinner.

Came here for a special dinner and weren’t disappointed. The server was helpful and knowledgeable and the food was impressive. It’s expensive but can understand why!

A perfect night at the Chef's Table! Service from sommelier, Tia, was stellar, and the entire team in the kitchen took great care of us! The food was all amazing, we loved every dish. Outstanding wine list! Chef's Table or just regular dining, don't miss this place!

We experienced the chefs table here. Which was very cool. Sit at bar table off the chefs area. Watch them work and pre pare the food. They are a very well-oiled machine. The head chef came over numerous times to check on us chat and was super friendly. We had a six course meal that the head chef set up. You can opt to pair wines. The food was amazing. Definitely give this a try for something a little more personal or intimate.

Excellent dinner and we received good service from David. Food was served promptly and plates removed as we finished. Eclectic menu and a good wine selection. Beet salad was sweet with crispy kale. The wagyu striploin was good but not extraordinary. The moonfish was in a slightly spicy sauce.

Excellent! Been coming to Maui for years and always a bit disappointed with the food, but this place was the one! Yes, it’s on the pricey side, but with the setting and location, I expect that. Food, drinks, service all worth the 5 stars! We will be back next time on the island!

Nestled in a former pineapple cannery, Colleen's At the Cannery is a hidden gem in Haiku-Pauwela, Maui. This cozy spot offers organic New American cuisine with three hearty meals daily and a popular happy hour. Despite its unassuming exterior, it transforms into an intimate setting at night, perfect for enjoying martinis and fresh fish dishes.
It was my first time having lunch here, and we picked a good time. We got there at 1:00 and got a corner "booth". Sarah and Josie both helped us out with taking our food and drink orders and bringing them out to us. Miles made us a delicious grilled Mahi salad, the best chicken salad sandwich I can remember having, and a grilled chicken sandwich. Oh, and the ginger mint tea was absolutely refreshing. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and it was a very nice time.

This is the perfect spot to fuel your adventures off of the road to Hana. It provides good eats for breakfast (served until 11:30 AM) and lunch. I've had both. You can't go wrong with a breakfast sandwich or a hamburger. The portions are generous so it's a good way to energize either before or after hitting the trails or just exhausted after the winding road. Seating is limited and everything is made to order so you'll want to be patient. Enjoy an iced coffee and company while you wait.

Nice place with good burgers, especially the fries were amazing! Veggie options available too. Friendly service

Tucked in 'downtown' Haiku (Country vibe), this restaurant is a locals' favourite but visitors are certainly welcome because the entire staff is friendly, cheerful and welcoming. The food is solid, it has everything one can ask for. Bar area is comfy and lively. If you happen to cruise by the town of Haiku, make sure to stop by for a meal (breakfast, dinner) or great Happy Hour.

We stopped in to see the area and found this place. Very quaint and friendly. We ordered a tuna melt and the upcountry beef burger. Both were perfectly prepared and fresh. We shared an order of fries as the portion was very generous. Love the crispy battered fries. We picked up a couple of pastries for the road as they looked great and tasted just as great for breakfast the next day. Highly recommended.

Simply great. The service was super funny and the burgers were amazing. I’ve never had fries this good. We’ll definitely be back :)

Located in Whalers Village, Island Vintage Coffee is a must-visit spot for coffee enthusiasts and health-conscious travelers alike. This cafe offers farm-fresh 100% Kona coffee and a variety of healthy breakfast options, including popular acai bowls packed with protein and energy-boosting nutrients. In addition to its delicious menu, the cafe also sells merchandise such as graphic t-shirts and tote bags, making it an ideal place to grab souvenirs from your West Maui adventure.
Best açaí bowl I’ve had — I loved the chocolate and peanut butter açaí bowl with homemade peanut butter, sweet raw honey and cacao nibs. The Island Latte (macadamia nut with hint of coconut) was the best creamiest latte I’ve had since visiting Italy. My go-to for breakfast and coffee on this side of the island.
Brooklynn M — Google review
Island Vintage Coffee is a small, cute coffee shop in Whalers Village on the lower level. The shop has a few seating options and seemed pretty popular as there was a decent amount of people inside. The menu is quite large with a lot of food and drink options from acai bowls to smoothies and milkshakes. We got a Double Kona Mocha which was solid, better than expected. The price was a bit high for the coffee but it’s Whalers Village so that’s understandable. The shop is also card only so make sure to have your card on you before going in as there’s no cash options. This place is a very good option for those looking for a quick wake up ahead of a day on the beach or by the pool.
Amber L — Google review
At 8 AM on a Monday, this place is hoppin’! It’s known for its great açai bowls and coffee. The island style plate with sprouted five grain rice was excellent, with fresh papaya. We ordered the frozen vintage Kona mocha with whipped cream on top as well as the double Kona mocha with whipped cream on top. Both delicious. The atmosphere could use a little improvement. Very basic seating area. In order to get your parking ticket validated for two hours free parking, you must purchase over $20.

We had a great breakfast at this place, tried their Huapia acai bowl — absolutely delicious! The bowl was super satisfying, and the fresh fruits really stood out, especially the papaya. Their matcha is amazing, smooth and flavorful, and the bagel was surprisingly good too. You can definitely get a hearty breakfast here; everything feels fresh and fulfilling. The vibe is casual and welcoming, making it a great spot to start your day. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone craving a tasty, satisfying breakfast.

Definitely the prettiest açaí bowls I’ve ever seen! Since we stayed around the Kaanapali area, we stopped by here multiples times for a quick breakfast and coffee. The line can be a bit long sometimes so don’t expect to have your order ready quickly. But the servers are kind and efficient! The coffee is good. Their strawberry matcha is decent and comes in a large size!
Christine V — Google review
Good location and interesting menu. I tried the island latte and taro bagel. I wanted to try the other special menu item (I think it was a waffle), but they were out. Both items were good, but the bagel gor kinda messy because the ube cream cheese was very thin and runny. Coupled with the coconut cream, I needed a copious amount of napkins. Good flavor though! Real good bagel.
Emily Y — Google review
excellent service and food: ordered coffee, Liliko’i Moana bowl and taro ube bagel. seems bagel is not on regular menu. it comes toasted with ube and coconut cream cheese. so yummy! long lines but it moves fast as shop is fully staffed. definitely worth the wait and price.

Sam Sato's Inc is a classic counter-service restaurant located in Wailuku, Maui. Since the 1930s, it has been a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The restaurant is known for its affordable and hearty breakfast options, cheeseburgers, saimin, chow fun, loco moco, and plate lunches.
After all these years, Sam Sato is still a favorite of mine. Try to pay a visit every time we visit Maui and it never disappoints. Saimin and Teri beef bun is the way to go. Enjoy! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

First time eating Hawaiian dry noodles. They were as fantastic as the service. Our server made sure we were well taken care of.
Austin W — Google review
Got the dry noodles and they were good, wished I'd gotten the saimin as I like more broth. Beef sticks were flavorful but a little tough. Got 2 cheeseburgers and the boys scarfed them down. Fries were meh though, skip them. Friendly service, good experience near closing time.

This is clearly a local favorite, and deservingly so. Everything was very good and inexpensive. It was busy but wait wasn’t too long.

Down to earth place with fantastic food. Their dry saimin noodles are out of this world. The yakitori chicken is also very delicious. The staff are very friendly and the service is super fast once you get seated. There is often a wait for seats but it is quite worth it. For a 4-5 days trip, we ended up dining here twice. Goes to show great this place is.

Delicious food in a local spot that reminds me of HK cha can ting. Everything was homey and comforting. Especially loved the wonton noodles. The wontons tasted handmade with a thick, chewy wrapper, and a juicy, chewy meat filling. Would go back if I visit again!
Liyan — Google review
They are usually very busy so we ordered take out, but were pleasantly surprised to find out there was only a very short wait if we wanted to dine in. The parking lot is small, so it helps to have someone wait in the car and another person run out to pick up the food. Service was quick and friendly! The Dry Noodles are highly recommended so we ordered some other items to try. The Teriyaki Plate Lunch came with a large scoop of rice, scoop of mac salad, and generous portion of teriyaki beef. Although it doesn’t look pretty, the beef was so tender and flavorful! Definitely an underrated dish here. The Lima (Butter Bean) and Azuki (Red Bean) Manju were also nice little treats to have after our meal. Soft and subtly sweet. The best local manju we’ve had!
Ketty N — Google review
Got there half an hour before closing. Packed house with quite a lot of people waiting for a table. I was alone, so I got seated at the counter almost immediately. Saimin menu is pretty simple. I ordered large saimin. Flavor was all there, portions were about right relative to price point, and quality of ingredients was on point. Service was fast and friendly. $12 for a quick meal. A must visit for simple local fare.

A cozy and nice place with good pokes, tasty shaved ice, and nice coffees. They have their own parking for clients. Some times there are 5-10 people in queue, but it moves fast and most people order to go.

This is a great little stop coming back from the Twin Falls hike, especially if it’s later in the evening! (The other shave ice place in town closes at 5 pm) We stopped for shave ice but ended up getting some food also. The shave ice with the natural flavors (and dole whip!) was pretty good! Not the best on the island but still a yummy, refreshing treat. My son got one of the regular flavors (grape) and it definitely tasted like a fake syrup. I also got the hurricane poke nachos and they were so good! Definitely could be split between 2 people and there was a good amount of poke for the price. There is free parking around back!
Kelli D — Google review
After wrapping up our hike at Twin Falls Trail, we were definitely ready for a good meal—and Tobi’s Poke & Shaved Ice turned out to be the perfect post-hike spot. We were craving something fresh and filling, and this place absolutely hit the spot. I ordered the Tobi’s Poke Plate Tsunami, and wow—every bite was bursting with flavor. The fish was incredibly fresh, the seasoning was spot on, and the portions were generous. You could really tell that quality ingredients and care go into their food. I finished every last bite and was seriously tempted to go back up and order more. The vibe of the place is super chill and casual, which made it a great place to unwind after being out on the trail. Service was quick and friendly too—even though they were fairly busy when we arrived, we got our food in no time. Also, a helpful tip: there’s free customer parking behind the building, which we didn’t realize at first. It’s super convenient and saves you from hunting for street parking. All in all, this was a fantastic find and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area—especially after a hike or beach day. Fresh, delicious, and satisfying—what more could you ask for

Ended up at Tobi’s three times during my week in Paia. Poke is a must! So so good and very filling- tuna was amazing. I got the Samoa iced coffee a different day per an employee’s recommendation and it was fantastic. My last full day in Paia I got the Kalua pork plate, as well as the High Surf (?) shave ice. The pork was so tender and delicious (also a very filling portion) and the shave ice was the best I’ve ever had. The ice is so smooth and creamy- not like a Kona ice on the mainland. Definitely a must try place! Friendly service, clean.
Danielle W — Google review
Sitting outside this establishment as i write this honest review, after seeing tons of reviews and photos of other poke I’m confused with what i was given? Every photo I’ve seen reviews of the rice is far more seasoned and ALOT more poke than what i received, which was about 14 small pieces of poke total which is crazy when i saw how much everyone else got and mainly tons of greens the flavor itself of the poke was good the rice had very little to no seasoning wasn’t great, but definitely not worth $21 i feel like we just got scammed.

Stillwell's Bakery & Cafe, located in Wailuku, is a renowned coffee house celebrated for its delectable pastries, breads, sandwiches, and salads. The bakery offers an array of classic and adventurous flavors to cater to every palate. Visitors are drawn in by the enticing aroma of freshly baked goods. This establishment is highly regarded for its exceptional breakfast and lunch options, including gourmet sandwiches on house-made bread and mouthwatering pancakes.
Stillwell’s is such a gem! I absolutely loved their breakfast, especially the breakfast beef corned hash, it’s packed with amazing flavor and cooked perfectly. You can really tell they put care into their food. I also love their apricot pecan butterballs cookies, it’s got the perfect crunch, just the right amount of sweetness, and such a beautiful, buttery flavor. This is the third time visiting here. Everything feels homemade. Will be back again for sure 🌈
Carrie H — Google review
Stillwell's is thankfully under new ownership from its founders. MENU: Breakfast items, sandwiches, soups, salads, noodles, desserts. FOOD: Reuben Hefty portion of toasted whole grain with generous amounts of filling and a caesar salad to the side. Highly recommended. Pastrami & Crab Cake Sandwiches The bread wasn't toasted but both came thickly-stuffed with fresh ingredients. DESSERT: Coconut and Banana Cream Pies I'm far from having a sweet tooth, but I've always loved banana cream pies. At a recent party, a whole pie was divvied up and I scored a slice. Oh my goodness. Why did their filling have to be so delectable and creamy? Why did the bananas have to be so fresh and flavorful? Is it to make up for their sucky service? Is this yin & yang? I'll never know. The crust on the other hand, wasn't the greatest in terms of texture and taste. Cream Horn Every time a box of these are brought to the office, one woman in particular squeals with joy. Her food mating call is warranted though, as these are really good. The airy, cloud-like puff pastry is filled with a perfectly-sweetened cream filling, dipped in chocolate and dusted with powdered sugar. But, don't inhale through your mouth as you devour it as the powdered sugar will inconvenience your gluttony with a cough, LOL. SERVICE: A whole lot better with the new owners that took over years ago. FUN FACT: The building once housed Wailuku's Kentucky Fried Chicken and Little Caesars. OVERALL: Very good sandwiches, salads and desserts.

Instead of having the traditional big wedding cake for our wedding reception, we elected to coordinate with Matt and his team to create a dessert bar that featured three of their iconic pastry desserts. The combination of the tantalizing personal Lilikoi Cheesecakes, the decadence of the Fresh Fruit Tarts, and the legendary Chocolate Covered Cream Horns gave a fun and delicious experience for all who attended the wedding and reception. With excellence, Stillwell’s displayed why they are one of the premier bakery restaurants on Maui. Do yourself and your taste buds a favor and stop by the shop.

First time having brunch here after living in Maui 20 years!!! I never knew about this place and I'm huge pastry lovers ( I usually drive all way to Kula Bistro and now I can say from my own experience this bakery is actually better and prices are much more responsible!!) I could buy much more!! Really enjoyed almost every item...check out photos..we shared huge Greek Salad ( had to take home it was so generous!!) Excellent customer service. Also. Highly highly recommend. I'm sure they get busy since not many tables to sit so may want to order take out!!

Good food, great bakery. Ordered a fried egg sandwich on toasted white bread. Bread was only lightly toasted and soft, so the sandwich started falling apart as soon as I started eating it, but it was incredibly tasty, nonetheless. The bakery items were outstanding. We had several. It's definitely a recommended stop, if only for the bakery. Only place to eat was outside, which was very nice, despite the birds and chicken trying to get your leftovers. 😄

Da Kitchen, located in Kihei and Kahului, is a popular restaurant on Maui known for its generous portions of classic Hawaiian food. Despite its suburban strip-mall location, it attracts both locals and tourists with its island soul food, including signature dishes like chicken katsu and teriyaki beef. The airport location offers a wider selection, featuring traditional plate-lunch-style fare as well as burgers and sandwiches.
One of the best places to eat in Maui. We came in a Tuesday for lunch and the inside was packed so we ordered to-go and ate outside. Every single bite of every item on our plate was perfection. The Musubi was heavy on the nori flavor, which I love, but my husband doesn’t so I mostly got to have that all to myself. The meats were tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Many weeks later and we’re still talking about how this is one of the best meals we ate. On our Maui go-to list now forever! Oh, and the staff were all so freaking nice!!
Chelsea W — Google review
The food was good but not great. Deep fried spam musubi had a thin sliver of spam and the rest was rice. $31 for garlic noodles with 1 piece of chicken (picture below), way overpriced for the amount of chicken you get. We waited an hour to order and get our food.
Jennifer T — Google review
I came here based on the reviews. While you do get a lot of food for your money, I’m not sure I’m convinced that it was as great as some of these reviews. We ordered the mixed plate and the loco moco. Both were ok. The mixed plate came with katsu chicken and mahi as well as a piece of chicken thigh and a piece of sliced beef plus rice and mac salad. The loco moco came with a burger patty, egg, topped with sautéed onions, rice and mac and cheese. It’s a very heavy meal. The dishes didn’t have a lot of flavor. Our server was nice and friendly.
Geeky C — Google review
Loco Moco was good but not great. Standouts were the fried spam musubi and the guava cheesecake (a must-order. Not overly sweet). Prices for portion size were good. My husband and I split the Loco Moco and had leftovers.

Epic Hawaiian Plate Lunch at Da Kitchen — massive portions, bold flavors, zero regrets! Summary of Experience: My partner and I dropped in at Da Kitchen in Kihei for lunch, craving something local and hearty. We each went for combo/mixed-plate style – I ordered the Chicken Katsu + Kalua Pork combo; my partner got the Mixed Plate (teriyaki chicken, teriyaki beef, chicken katsu, breaded mahi mahi). The restaurant was clean, service friendly, atmosphere relaxed. The food: generous (seriously), full of flavor, a great sampler of Hawaiian classics all in one meal. Overall Opinion & Recommendation: If you’re anywhere near Kihei and want to dive into Hawaiian comfort food, Da Kitchen is absolutely worth your lunch hour (or dinner, for that matter). The food hits the sweet spot between comforting and exciting. The katsu was crispy in all the right ways, the kalua pork tender, smoky, perfect balance of salt without being overwhelming. The mixed plate — you get a little something from each favorite: mahi-mahi brought crisp fish flavor, the teriyaki meats offered sweet/umami uplift, and the chicken katsu brought that crunchy texture. Add rice, macaroni salad etc., and you’ve got a feast. Portions are huge — you might end up taking home leftovers. The vibe: casual Hawaiian plate lunch, no pretenses, just solid local eats. Clean space, good service makes it even better. Recommendation: Highly recommend. Go if you want to try multiple Hawaiian classics in one go, especially if you’re hungry. It’s ideal for sharing, sampling, or just if you want something filling and tasty without fancy fuss. If I come back, I’ll continue trying more combos/mixed plates—this is the kind of spot you visit not just once, but multiple times.

Island salad is my run away favorite here. It’s been a while since I was in Hawaii and had plate lunch. So long ago that prices have ga-gillioned? $35 for the Hawaiian? Sheesh. Used to be plate lunch was the affordable way to eat. Food was good though. Lau lau was good. Kilua pork was salty but delicious. Rice was rice. And a very little itty bitty salmon teaser. Won’t be back but happy we went. Can’t recommend at these prices.

Breakfast restaurant
Coffee shop
The Vanta Coffee Hub is a local spot that serves great food and coffee. The owner is friendly, and the pancakes are delicious. It's a great stop before or after travelling to the airport.
This was the perfect breakfast place before flying out to Kauai. The banana pancakes were perfect! Large, fluffy, and stuffed with bananas. My hazelnut latte was also very flavorful. The couple that runs this place was very sweet. It is small, so there could be a wait but definitely worth it! Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back the next time we come to Maui!

Vanta Coffee Hub is such a cozy little spot with Hawaiian-American breakfast diner vibes. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and I loved that they welcomed us with a plate of fresh fruit—that was such a sweet touch! Definitely a place I’d come back to for a chill breakfast or brunch.

Great food, easy parking in a partially shaded parking lot. The atmosphere was very nice and quiet. By far the best part of Vanta Coffee Hub is the couple the runs the place. They are incredibly nice and attentive. We will be going back just to chat with them. Portuguese sausage and rice was great.

We stopped by here on our way out to the airport and wow oh wow!!! It’s was delicious. Very attentive staff and very homey vibes. Auntie always making sure we had everything and uncle brought over bananas after we finished our HUGE breakfast. They are very generous almost like you’re eating at your grandparents home. It’s very tiny; but also felt like we eating together as Ohana. The inside is very cool, they have maps to pin where you’re visiting from as well as a wall full of other people’s currency, you can trade anything less than $20 and they pin your country on the wall. Still craving my pancakes, so fluffy and had actual banana inside them! Will definitely recommend 10/10!

Wonderful breakfast at Vanta! You can tell each of our food items were made with love. It felt like your mom and dad were serving you a perfect breakfast. The mixed fruit smoothie was very well made. The iced lattes were flavorful with the perfect amount of sweetness. The breakfast sandwich on the croissant was hearty and packed with sausage and bacon. Glad we stopped by!

It's a cute little restaurant. We ordered coffee, Eggs Benedict, and a good old American breakfast with eggs and pancakes. The pancakes were so fluffy. Breakfast was yummy 😋

Very nice place . I had eggs with pancakes 🥞 😋. 20 bucks can not go wrong . Place has alot of character even the coffee mug is from Colorado.

Our boys day out adventure started with brunch. I swayed my friends away from a buffet which I'm not fond of, and figured it was the perfect time to try this place that has a 5-star average rating with over 100 reviews. I tried to pick up lunch from here a few months ago but my lunch time was not jiving with their lunch schedule. ATMOSPHERE: They're located in a dinky strip mall, the Hookahi Business Center, in the Wailuku Industrial Park. The inside is clean and inviting but small, with seating for only 14 people max. We came in around 11am on a Sunday and luckily grabbed the sole 4-top table. Tables were constantly occupied. MENU: Coffees, breakfast selections, ramen. Because I feel I can easily make breakfast at home, and they were out of their local plate lunches, I took a chance on their "ramen". I'm not sure whether to laugh from disbelief or be mad with insult from what I received. You be the judge. FOOD: Ramen Noodle Soup I thought the price was abnormally cheap for ramenl. What the heck, take a chance. It took a good maybe 10 minutes for it to come out, so I had high hopes of a homemade dashi, chewy noodles, and delectable toppings, especially being that the chef/owner is a Japanese national. What came to the table floored me. I thought to myself, no way, it can't be. Sure enough, as soon as I took my first bite of noodles and dashi, I was shocked. It was instant saimin, straight out of the package!? Sapporo Ichiban-brand in the shrimp flavor to be exact. I know because I eat this at home! To add insult to injury, the noodles were overcooked. He did doctor-up the dish with scrambled egg slices, white onions, and a few slices of fresh mushrooms, but come on... In reality, this dish was marked up 171% if you do the math. SERVICE: The man running the front of the house was friendly in a sushi bar sort of way. You get the greeting and thank you, but nothing in the middle. TIP: They're open for breakfast & lunch only, with lunch served at 11am. OVERALL: When and if they ever bring back the local plates is when I'll return. If not, I can make breakfast and instant saimin at home.

Great portions, cute presentation, overpriced but everywhere is. Loved the atmosphere and outdoor seating. I got a crepe and it was amazing - I couldn’t finish it all! The chai latte also exceeded my standards.

Secret find. Delicious food, cool atmosphere. beautiful hostess and servers. savory crepe: salmon, spinach and more sweet crepe with nutella + strawberries and bananas gave them complex order with things on the side. they got it ALL right. very nice people. Healthy salad.

Fun and quirky place. I got the Acai bowl and a large hot coffee! Super filling and refreshingly cold!! Staff were quick to clean everything and we super helpful

LOVED this place. In a (still lovely) touristy area off Front Street, Belle Surf Cafe gives you a nice, chill respite away from it all. A lovely little escape to enjoy some avocado toast and an iced chai in the shaded sunshine. PLUS I love all the local products they’ve brought into their shop wall - great mugs to bring home! ☕️

It’s a Jolie lovely cafe shop. The hot and ice latte was so good and the bagel 🥯 sandwich was yummy too. Staffs are nice and friendly. I will come back again. P/s: i love the music too 🌸

Quiet little almost hidden coffee cafe fifteen steps deep-in off Front St right next to popular Pai Fish restaurant. Wonderful tasting lattes (we went back 6 times as most others were lacking elsewhere). Lots of snacks and custom made delicious foods but unfotunately no banana bread's (they are considering it).

The place was clean Good shade and sunlight The service was good but did take a while I ordered -Rainbow Bowl and Rio Bowl small but it was too melted, but it was good -The papaya Bowl was good Peanut butter pairing was not it for me but it was delicious for my mother -cinnamon banana bun was delicious

Hawaiian restaurant
Restaurant
Aloha Mixed Plate offers a relaxed, beachside setting with open-air patio seating and stunning oceanfront views. The restaurant serves traditional Hawaiian platters in generous portions, inspired by the old plantation days when diverse cultures gathered with their simple lunches. The menu reflects the history of various dishes and cultures, featuring flavors like teriyaki beef, chicken adobo, kalbi, rice noodles, and the signature Ali Plate with Lau Lau royal lunch.
I am usually skeptical about hotel recommendations for restaurants but this time I am glad we went with it. The views of sunset were spectacular. The food was all pretty good and good portions. But the service is what made this place great. I very much liked the lau lau for my plate. Would definitely come again
Scott P — Google review
Best experience was the food. I got the Ceasar salad with fish and the fish that day was swordfish. The swordfish was grilled I believe, and it tasted pretty meaty which was great. The salad was prepared very well and tasted refreshing especially since it was a very bright day. The price for this was reasonable. The atmosphere wasnt bad, sitting outside but with shade. The service was not bad, just wished we got our waters sooner since it was a scorching day. Wouldn't mind coming back.
Joe T — Google review
My recent dinner at Aloha Mixed Plate was absolutely outstanding. From start to finish, everything delivered — and the highlight has to be the swordfish special. It was cooked to perfection and quite literally melted in my mouth. I’ve had many fish dishes, but this one stood out. My wife ordered the Ali‘i plate and raved about the lū lū — rich, savory, and perfectly seasoned. Meanwhile, my buddy went with the mixed plate and demolished it before I could even ask how it was. The portions were generous, the flavors bold yet balanced, and the overall vibe of the place was relaxed and authentically Hawaiian. Service was friendly and efficient, and the setting on Front Street adds that breezy island charm without sacrificing comfort. If you find the swordfish special on the menu, do yourself a favor and go for it — you won’t regret it. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Lahaina who wants a meal that feels both local and top-tier. Five stars without hesitation.

There’s parking in front. As soon as you walk in, you feel the island vibes. Beautiful surroundings with a direct ocean view. Very clean. Friendly staff. The drinks are beautiful and well-made. Recommend the mai tai. For food, recommend the aloha mixed plate Which has a little bit of everything, including short rib, pork, chicken, fish, macaroni, rice. We also got the fish plate of the day, which was a bunch of swordfish fillets, and a delicious pineapple salsa on top.
Ap V — Google review
👏🏼 Cute spot with delicious food! The kalbi ribs were fantastic as was the fish plate. Everyone loved everything, the mixed plate seemed like a great way to try a mix ⭐️ Go for the coconut shrimp and chicken wings to start if you’re hungry and you can’t go wrong with the Mai Tai! And if it’s not busy you might be able to sneak a peak at the luau next door
Jackie G — Google review
Laidback Hawaiian spot with a happy hour next to the beach. Came here for a late lunch and we were able to get seated immediately. I had the aloha mixed plate while my boyfriend had a burger with the furikake fries. The view was really nice, as we overlooked the ocean and could hear the luau next door gearing up. They have a parking lot and credit cards are accepted. The restrooms are located around the corner of the restaurant. It’s kid friendly and very chill.
Shanelle S — Google review
The outdoor seating with a view of the ocean was the first thing we noticed when we arrived. We had to wait nearly 5 minutes for the hostess to return before we could be seated. All the staff we interacted with seemed rather crabby. When I asked the bartender if there was a hostess, he quickly replied "Just wait." When the hostess arrived, she asked if we had reservations. We politely replied, we did not and were shown to our table. The waiter arrived and started arguing with us about a dish. Not sure why that was necessary. However, we settled on our order and brushed it off. Meals came out and had a lovely presentation. The flower on the plate was a nice touch. The sauces used to season the proteins on both our dishes was quite good. However, all the proteins we had were way over cooked and quite dry. Perhaps we just came on and off night for the staff. There are many other Hawaiian cuisine restaurants to try.

Food and drink was phenomenal except the Mac salad was sort of too simple. I was expecting something else. On our first day in Maui we ate at one place and they had Mac salad that I was hooked since then everywhere we got Hawaiian foods with side of Mac salad I was thought I’ll have the same but actually this one was missing tuna salad in it. Jennifer our waitress was friendly and helpful. At the time we were there (Saturday), they had live music and make it even nicer to ending the evening.

A hidden little gem you must find on the other side of the bikini store! The cashier was so nice and friendly! Very welcoming! The savory crepes are so fresh and fulfilling without the weight of filling full. They come with a great mix green salad with balsamic on it. I got the Paia, oh my so tasty. I also got a beef empanada and it came with an intriguing sauce that was soooo yummy. I'm not going to tell you what it is so you can come taste it yourself!

We were visiting the historic town Paia and spontaneously stopped by for a delicious cup of flat white and an amazingly yummy nutella crêpe. This lovely decorated restaurant is like an oasis. Certainly a must-stop location when visiting Paia and/or driving on the scenic Road to Hana.

Fantastic spot to catch up with friends, do some work or just to get away from the tourist crowds. Coffee and espresso selections are tasty and strong. I love the dessert crepes and their espresso martini for a late afternoon or early evening break. The decor makes you feel relaxed.

Went here for Breakfast and Dinner. Great iced caramel macchiato and acai bowls. Sushi night was awesome. Second to best sushi I've ever had! 👌🏻Cocktails here are most preferable to others in Paia.

This was a stop we made on our way back from Hana to the airport and boy are we glad we did! This a cute place tucked away in Paia. Great coffee options, the food menu was larger than we anticipated and it was great selection! The Açai bowls are delicious and the sweet crepes lived up to the name! Overall great service, food, and atmosphere; highly recommend stopping here on your way to Hana or before you get to the airport!

Came for breakfast before road to Hana. I got steak sandwich which was SO GOOD and gave me the energy i needed for the day. My wife got the breakfast platter of eggs and sausage etc. She liked it. The lattes were also amazing and the 2 girls working there were very nice. The place has good vibes highly recommend to come here.

Great ambiance and bites ! Their warmed banana bread with butter is heavenly. I’m also obsessed with their pink la marzocco. This is the type of place I totally would hang out at for a couple hours working. It’s a little obscured since it is behind the swim shop.

Family restaurant
Plate Lunch Market Place, formerly located at the harbor, can now be found across the road from Costco Gas Station in Kahului. It offers a variety of food trucks serving up local staples like kalua pork, Korean barbecue, chicken katsu, beef teriyaki, and mahimahi. The market provides a well-organized food truck court with covered tables and live music on Thursday nights.
As soon as you get off the plane there’s a food truck spot right around the corner with about 12-15 food trucks with flavors all over the island. A must stop if your hungry and don’t want to have airport food.

Great set up, shade/rain protection. Very clean and comfortable setting. Grilled prawns on a skewer nice, a bit too salty. Would return

Delicious and fresh foods to choose from. Service was great!

Awesome set up and great variety of food. This is a very well organized food truck court near the airport with lots of covered tables and several food trucks to choose from. We went on a Thursday night when they have live music (Three to Five - great local band!) and enjoyed a few different dishes from Thai Mee Up and Havens. All was delicious, fairly priced and ready in a reasonable time. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back for sure - lots more to try!

Love eating here. Nice variety, but DO NOT eat at small Taco stand in corner. Worst quality tacos and bland taste. Shameful! Unfortunately, the Taco stand brings down the Food Truck market place.
