Bakery
Coffee shop
The SconeWitch is a beloved bakery with three locations in Ottawa, including one near Parliament Hill. It offers a wide selection of freshly baked scones in sweet, savory, and wheat-free varieties, perfect for a light breakfast before exploring the city. Additionally, they serve sconewiches and egg-based dishes for those seeking heartier options. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it an ideal spot for a delightful breakfast or satisfying lunch.
So at first you might be surprised if the reviews really are true to the place, on arrival you would enter and first it would be a tick box ✅ for atmosphere Then tick ✅ for the service, really kind and helpful staff. The food we ordered the Breakfast scone Back & Cheddar at 8.50 + tax for 11.30$ Bonus: Has Low-gluten options and opens at 6:30am YES - perfect for morning people. A short walk from anywhere this place is worth a visit for a snack breakfast or just coffee.

If you like scones like I do then this is the place to go for in Ottawa. The scones are good and fresh. My favorites for the sweet ones are lemon-poppyseeds and dates&fennel. For the savoury ones I go for herbs&onions or Feta. For the scone sandwiches, I recommend poached salmon or smoked turkey. They have also good brunch options on the weekends. The stuff are friendly and the service always great.
Youssef S — Google review
Having breakfast here for three days in a row! I like the simplicity of the menu - the scones are really delicious - the smell of baked scones never fails! Good choice for a light yet fulfilling meal. I always visit when in town
Noura A — Google review
Went here for the first time. Had a great experience. There’s not much parking around would recommend maybe biking or walking to get there. They have some seating outside in front of the store. They have some really cook scone witch art throughout the store which is really cool to see. The place was bumping! Lots of seating inside could probably sit 20-30 people. Service was quick and staff were friendly. They sell a couple breakfast options/ 5-6 scone sandwiches and just scones on the side. They also have a coffees, and other types of coffee type drinks available to help that sweet scone travel down that bod of yours. I went there for breakfast and got a dark roast coffee and a eggwitch sandwich and would recommend them both. I was visiting from afar but would definitely return for another visit. Adds a little spice compared to your average Tim’s or Starbucks experience.
Justin N — Google review
Opens at 6:30 AM – perfect for early risers. Tried two savory breakfast scones (herb & onion, and cheddar) – both were decent. For the sweet options, I’d recommend the oatmeal over the orange cranberry. Coffee was better than expected, making this a nice spot to start the morning.
Wei ( — Google review
Creative scone sandwiches and scone flavors! But disappointed by the lack of clotted cream. The space was chic and comfortable, overall, and the service was efficient. Would recommend to anyone visiting Ottawa!
Carson W — Google review
I cannot recommend this place highly enough! The scones are the best I've ever had. Savory herb one and the sweet vanilla cream (despite not being a vanilla fan) were so flavorful and good. Such a great price and a cute little place to have coffee as well! 100/10 would recommend to anyone nearby
Yeva M — Google review
I expected more from this place, but honestly, I was disappointed. The service was slow and a bit confusing—we weren’t sure where we were allowed to sit, and the menu wasn’t very clear either. For the price, I was expecting better quality and portion sizes, but it didn’t meet those expectations. The vanilla scone, unfortunately, was also quite flavorless.

Cafe
Coffee shop
Cafe Cristal is a charming and beautiful spot in Barrhaven, inspired by the neighborhood cafes of France. The Victorian-inspired decor adds a lot of charm to this cafe, making it a favorite spot for locals who come for premium tea, coffee, crepes, and pastries. It's also known for its high tea experience with traditional sandwiches and homemade lavender blueberry butter paired with delicious scones.
My first visit here, I was not disappointed. The decorations were beautiful, very impressive. This place is quaint, charming and homey. We had high tea, a nice presentation, and the food was delicious. It was a bit pricey, but I understood that we were paying for a fancy experience. Got a take out order as well.
Jenny L — Google review
Aesthetically super pleasing!! The service was great as well! Its the noise from a group of >10 ladies that took two stars off for me. A couple friends from my group were here for second time today and confirmed this was their experience last time as well. Not sure if there’s much the management can do here but the noise from this big group was so much so that other people had to speak loudly as well to converse. Gave me a literal headache ngl. We ordered a blueberry lavender tea, a strawberry pistachio croissant and a cardamom latte. Couldn’t taste the cardamom in latte at all but tea and croissant were amazing!!
Tamanna V — Google review
It's one of me, my husband and friends' favorite cafes. Their chicken sandwiches are both filling and delicious. The strawberry milk cake is also amazing 🤩 The lemonade wasn't bad. Their coffee is generally good. I haven't used the restrooms, so I don't know about that. If you can find a seat at this cafe, especially on weekends or weekday evenings, you're very lucky. Enjoy.
Chef F — Google review
It doesn't get any better than a French inspired Jordanian cafe. The decor, the lights, the vintage pieces, the dainty sofas, the perfectly curated menu, the lattes, the pastry and to top it off, great service. I absolutely loved everything about this quaint but somehow modern café. The perfect mix of both worlds.
J'Belle — Google review
My husband and I had high tea at the café this morning, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The atmosphere was perfect and homey, the service was outstanding, and the food and tea were out of this world delicious. We plan on making this a tradition every year. An extra shout out to Sophie for being such a great host for us this morning. Can’t wait to be back!
Stephanie B — Google review
What a lovely spot for breakfast. We were greeted with a sweet smile by the owner who is an absolute delight. The cappuccino is velvety smooth, the omelettes are delicious, and their chocolate chip cookies are amazingly flavourful. The café is warm and inviting. If we lived in the area, we would visit several times a week. Highly recommend. We will be back.
Robyn H — Google review
We visited this café with a friend and absolutely loved it! The interior is beautiful, the atmosphere is cozy, and the service was excellent. We’ll definitely be coming back! 😊
Наталія Б — Google review
The food looked fantastic, the coffee was delicious. Service impeccable and atmosphere was calm. Although the drinks took a while to be made they were worth the wait. Unfortunately they didn’t have any dairy free sweet treats, so we just had the coffee. Will absolutely return.

Restaurant
ZOE'S is a luxurious and opulent spot located within the Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, Canada. It offers a traditional high tea experience with classic sandwiches, scones, cookies, macarons, and a selection of over 30 fresh teas. The venue is adorned with chandeliers and provides impeccable service for an indulgent afternoon tea.
We had a really lovely time for High Tea. Our waiters Chantal and Hensel were absolutely lovely and accomodating. The menu gives regular, vegetarian and vegan options and they let you swap individual items without fuss. We got a vegan and a regular and everything was tasty. The tea selection is varied and my earl gray was so good I asked for more water. The atmosphere is just right : with enough background noise that conversations can remain private, yet there is no need to speak louder than normal to be heard by your friend. An overall great experience!
Marjorie — Google review
Very charming bar. The cocktail was well made with a fair selection of vodkas. The red wine was chilled which was a disappointment. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Our table and chairs were quite low which made dining at bit awkward. The service was excellent! We enjoyed our mains but the tomato tartare was quite boring and expensive. The presentation while cute, made eating it a challenge. The tuna was perfectly cooked and my partner enjoyed the pork belly. Very limited menu.
Erica B — Google review
Beautiful! Delicious! Those two words would describe very well this place. The decor is superbly executed. The style, colours, mood. It’s one of those place where the restaurant itself looks as good as the plates and the food tastes as good as the plates look. I had the tuna and my spouse had the pasta with vegetables. Both were very well played and perfectly cooked. We got the bread as appetizer and it was good. Nothing special but good. Deserts looked really good but were both was a little too sweet for my taste. We relaxed with some mint herbal with it. The waitress was really nice and so was the hostess. On The pricey side but with the experience.
Hoan-Vu L — Google review
We recently had a delightful lunch at the restaurant part of the Zoe’s lounge at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier. Our waitress, Nathalie, was an absolute gem. Her delicate, professional, and gentle demeanor made every interaction with her a pleasure. Not only was she incredibly talented, but she also spoke three languages! Her impeccable sense of hospitality truly shone through. The restaurant itself was beautifully designed in a powder-colored setting, creating a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. However, we did feel a bit overwhelmed by the noise level from other guests, and the dress code wasn’t strictly enforced. The food was a Canadian fair in a home-style setting, which was great, but it lacked the refinement we would expect from such an elevated establishment. Overall, we had a wonderful time at the restaurant. The evening before, we had a relaxing time at the bar side, which offered a completely different atmosphere. It was a bit colder and less intimate, with an open view of the lobby. The drinks were great, but nothing exceptional. To improve the experience, a few small changes would be beneficial. Closing the wall to the lobby would create a more intimate setting, adding candlelight to every table would enhance the ambiance, and lowering the overall lighting in the room at night would create a more cozy atmosphere.
Nicolas A — Google review
Went there for a quiet, solo afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday. Service was unbelievably good from the lovely who served my table (her name is completely escaping me, but truly made my day special). The tea tower could have been better, as the toasts felt a bit stale, but the scones and tea were exceptional. The ambience was perfect, sunny with soft jazz. All in all, a lovely start to my day, and definitely looking forward to making this an annual visit!
Nafisa — Google review
We had the pleasure of celebrating a birthday with the Princess Afternoon Tea at Zoe’s Restaurant, and the experience was nothing short of enchanting. This is located inside Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel. From the moment we were seated, the atmosphere felt refined yet inviting. Our server, Garrett, provided gracious and attentive service that elevated the occasion and left a lasting impression. The afternoon tea was presented in a beautiful three-tier arrangement, featuring a thoughtfully curated selection of savory and sweet offerings. Complementing this was an extensive tea menu, ensuring a perfect pairing for every palate. Altogether, it was a memorable and elegant celebration.
Prashant A — Google review
I have been to several Fairmont’s globally and this location has the same luxurious feel. I stopped in at Zoe’s today for a hot cuppa coffee and was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service provided by the staff here. Notably, the host Kathryn and my server Jeanette who must be recognized for her client service excellence! Please ensure she is recognized amongst her peers… Her laugh is contagious and her friendly service was the cherry on top! Lastly, a point worth noting, although I didn’t have much of an appetite very happy to hear all the meat options are Halal! Will be back for sure!

Very romantic with nice seating. The atmosphere is lovely. The presentation of the high tea is remarquable. The food and tea are exquisite. Highly recommended to everyone.

The Vanitea Room, A Tea Salon & Eatery is an elegant spot on Somerset St. offering English-style afternoon tea and brunch. The place is known for its fine loose-leaf teas from around the world and a variety of sweet and savory nibbles presented on tiered trays. You can enjoy delicious treats from various local patisseries and bakeries, including vegan options.
This is a splendid place that makes for a special outing. The decor is pretty and unique. The food was delicious. The tea was great. The menu is fully halal ❤️ and Ghislaine was lovely. Look forward to returning

If you want to feel boujie (not on a budget) this is the place to be. We reserved a table for 4 which came with bottomless mimosas and 3 course set menu, $69 per person including tip. The service was amazing; they accommodated a last minute gluten allergy and my friends were late to the reservation. The server was super understanding and didn’t rush us, so we definitely appreciated all of this. We started with scones (they were tiny - pictured in the cage) with a very modest serving of preserves for 4 people. The second course you could choose one of two options from the set menu, both are pictured. We got 3 eggs Benny at our table and everyone’s poached eggs were hard (we wanted runny yolk, maybe ask for that specifically if that’s what you want as the server didn’t ask). My partner also had a tiny serving of preserves with his meal (as seen in the photo). We asked for more preserves for my partners extra scones that came with his meal and they allowed that- so thank you! Overall we were expecting more bang for our buck. We found that the cost for the amount and quality of food didn’t add up, however the atmosphere and bottomless mimosas was exactly what we needed. We will be returning for the vibes and nibbles but eating a meal elsewhere as the cost for value didn’t make sense.

Dearest gentle reader, it is only right to report that the fare at The Vanitea Room was nothing short of a Bridgerton-worthy feast. Each dish arrived with the kind of elegance that would make even Queen Charlotte raise an approving brow. 👑✨ The cream & lavender latte was smooth and fragrant, with floral notes as delicate as Daphne’s gowns, while the London Fog offered that familiar comfort — like a warm embrace after a waltz. The Turkish eggs were rich and indulgent, their velvety sauce adding layers of flavour that felt every bit as dramatic as a ballroom scandal. And then, the sweets — oh, the sweets! The Heavenly Cream Tea lived up to its name, a luscious blend of cream and indulgence that demanded centre stage. The dessert platters sparkled with variety: dainty pastries, chocolates, and treats that looked like they’d been plucked from a royal banquet. Each bite was refined, decadent, and impossible to resist. The Vanitea Room didn’t just serve food: it staged a Regency-era fantasy, complete with the kind of staff whose warmth and grace made us feel like esteemed guests of the ton. For those seeking high tea with flavour as dramatic as a Bridgerton plot twist, this is the address. 💌 To hear more about this review, follow us @eatinontario on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, & Facebook. ✨🤩🙏

Came for a visit as a trio to give brunch a try. It has been since before the pandemic that I came here for brunch. Not much has changed, and that was very pleasant. The decor atmosphere are simply fantastic. The space has a really great vibe. We each tried a different dish and I have to say they were all quite solid. The shakshuka was an interesting trust using greens instead of tomatoes. The only real complaint I have is that the drinks seemed a little watered down but maybe I was off this morning. If you come, give some of the more extravagant offerings a try. You owe it to yourself to splurge a bit
Jon R — Google review
What a beautiful experience Vanitea Room is. My daughters and I enjoyed a Sunday brunch in amongst what felt like a step into a space away from daily life. We enjoyed a fantastic meal filled with flavour and the most amazing home baked bread. The music was spot on A nostalgic 90’s vibe. Excellent service
Joules02 — Google review
While the service was great! The deserts for the afternoon tea were evidently all purchased from the grocery store down the street and had a flower placed on top to make it more presentable. The store bought muffins, two bite brownie, and slice of a sheet cake were not what I was expected when paying over $50 for afternoon tea. I would also not recommend going in the summer with the located having only a few fans to combat the no AC.
Cassidy L — Google review
Service was polite and lovely however the food wasn’t very good. The eggs were rubbery, and the potatoes were small and almost too chewy/hard. The bread was very thinly sliced and toasted too much for the thinness of it. I like the decor but it’s not reason enough to go back.
Maya — Google review
Went for a drag brunch and have very mixed reviews, despite a wonderful Queen and very warm front of house staff. My review is based on the food, value and overall experience, which regrettably did not live up to the excitement I had while booking. I’ll sing the praise first. The Queen we had for this drag brunch was stunning. So beautiful and entertaining, despite being the only host. I don’t believe this was the plan - it was mentioned that another Queen had cancelled last minute, which was a little disappointing. It would have been nice to see the banter and dynamics of a duo, which is what we had anticipated. The wait staff was also very warm and genuinely seemed happy to be present. Our disappointment stemmed from the food and timing of the event. The drag brunch was scheduled for 11:30 am, so naturally we arrived slightly early and were seated and delivered drinks right away. The drag brunch is a set menu, which is understandable from a service perspective, but unfortunate if you don’t like what is being offered. This was the case for us. This could have been the normal procedure of the event (this was my first time going so I’m not sure) but it took 45 minutes for any table to receive food. When we received ours most items were cold including a potato hash, while the mini waffles were also quite soggy and underwhelming. What would have been considered the staple of the meal, kidney beans on toast, was almost indelible for me. In addition to the breakfast, I ordered a coffee, which is not included in the meal. Unfortunately the last swig of my coffee was nothing but grounds. Although this was very evident by the teaspoon of grounds left in my cup and all over the saucer, the waitstaff did not acknowledge this, offer a new coffee or offer to take the item off our bill. Nothing in the brunch felt or tasted luxury and sadly, myself and company left more than half the food behind. The drag performance was a welcome distraction from the food, although this part of the event started at 12:30 - 12:45 pm, which meant that the entertainment portion of the brunch lasted less than an hour. In short, we left brunch pretty hungry and very underwhelmed considering the experience cost us more than $200 for two people. I wouldn’t return to this establishment, despite the few good workers we encountered. Sadly, I would recommend anyone else considering a high end brunch to look elsewhere too.

Billings Estate National Historic Site is a heritage museum located in Ottawa, Ontario. It preserves the early 19th-century residence of the prosperous settler, Billings family. The oldest wooden home dating back to the 1820s offers a glimpse into history and showcases a massive art collection along with thousands of artifacts. The site embodies the pioneering spirit of Ottawa's early days and provides insight into the determination and resilience of its earliest settlers.
Christmas tea service was amazing! The estate was beautifully decorated and created such a festive environment. The tea and food were absolutely delicious! My family and I are already discussing visiting again next year. Also - the staff members provided top quality customer service! Highly recommend visiting.

Had a lovely time here for Tea on the Lawn! They served up some delicious tea, chosen from many tempting flavours. Also had finger sandwiches, scones, Devon fresh cream and jam, also other delectable chocolate desserts. Just delicious! Great service and overall a very enjoyable guest experience 😃. Highly recommend for a sophisticated experience.

I recently had tea at the estate. I was very disappointed. It would help if the hostess was appropriate dressed and could give a welcome and a little bit of history honouring the wonderful people that lived there. The tent curtains were ripped, the cups and saucers didn’t match and the food was not fresh and tasty. I will not bring guests again. Carol

Bread By Us is a cozy bakery in Ottawa's Wellington West neighborhood that specializes in crafting gourmet sourdough breads using high-quality unbleached and untreated flours. Their daily offerings include focaccia, ciabatta buns, country sourdough, and whole wheat loaves, with additional specialty breads available each day. In addition to their bread selection, the bakery also offers sweet treats like butter croissants and cinnamon snails.
Always so friendly and hospitable here! The items I love: veggie focaccia, featured scone, and the jam bun! Nice bakery in Hintonburg to quickly drop by for bread or a sweet treat

A hidden gem! Don't let the size of this place fool you, the flavours are BIG and it is one of the best bakeries in Ottawa. There is so much to like about this place, their breakfast croissant sandwiches are one of the top favorites in Ottawa. The lunch pizza focaccia are to die for with usually 3 options, a vegetarian, meat and a vegan choice - my favorite is the vegetarian. And don't get me started on the scones and sweets, we haven't had one yet that we were disappointed with. My favorite is the Apple Granola Scone.

The person who served me was really friendly and made my morning. The blueberry Danish I got is crispy and fresh.
Andraya M — Google review
Oh my goodness... The pastries were DELICIOUS! (*chef kiss*). They were fresh and flakey and buttery! That blueberry danish was huge! And those blueberries were so fresh even though it was not blueberry season! The banana muffin was dense and MOIST (most important quality in a muffin). Not too sweet, so the banana flavour was very present. I highly recommend taking the jam bun! It's like a pastry roll filled with a fruity jam YUMMY. The cheese and almond/maple croissants didn't taste much in their flavours but they do respect their categories of sweet and savoury in comparison to the original butter croissant.

I bought sourdough bread and it was good but I think what really shines are the drinks. I love the hazelnut latte because it’s not made with the traditional syrup.

Best pastries (sweet or savory) in the Ottawa areas BY FAR. Its like if you wrapped love with joy, brushed it with unconditional acceptance, and then baked it. Worth going out of your way for.

Best bakery in the city. Love everything about it: the bread, the staff, the community mindedness, the commitment to social causes and being human in late-stage capitalism. 10/10. No notes.

Life of Pie is a charming, family-owned bakery that takes pride in offering a variety of hand-made sweet and savory pies, bread, and cakes made with locally sourced ingredients. Their freshly baked pies are known to sell out quickly, but they also offer frozen options for those who want to bake at home. In addition to their delicious pies, they are also famous for their build-your-own grilled cheese sandwiches.
Came here for a bit of a snack after work. I ended up buying way too many things because everything looked phenomenal. Their glazed sour dough doughnut is easily the best donut I’ve ever had! I was surprised to see that they have homemade pop tarts on their menu, I HAD to try this since I love pop tarts! While this item isn’t anything out of this world, it was still very good and it definitely scratched the itch! Very nice dining room with beautiful oak tables (I think it’s oak, idk wood). The coffee is average, but this place doesn’t seem to be about coffee. You come here for pastries! Very much recommend, service was fine, atmosphere is nice although the loud fridge buzzing at the entrance keeps me from writing 5 stars! I’ll definitely be back! Fantastic job to everyone who works here!
Nik L — Google review
The service is great, the employees are super nice and chill, and the cookies were really good, but if I'm paying $35 for a pie it shouldn't taste like someone dumped unseasoned frozen ground meat into a pie shell. Come for the small baked goods and the chill seating area!! But DON'T buy any of the savory pies, they're way overpriced.
Niko G — Google review
2025-10-02-Stopped in for a break this morning & tried the Very Berry Scone. It was fresh, not too sweet and quite tasty. I like scones made with minimal sugar, or savory, that are not dry. I was told the coffee is good here, may try that the next time.
E W — Google review
Google said they still served breakfast but sadly no. And Easter weekend was too busy with selling pies to make a breakfast sandwich (only fare left from breakfast menu). Our group had scones instead.

I called ahead to ask if they could make a traditional key lime pie for my husbands birthday dinner. Paid $26 for cheap crisco pie crust and a filing that was 90% whip cream and 10% I have no idea - didn’t taste at all like what I asked for. I would have been better off buying a homemade pie for $13 from the Parkdale market - the pies at the big busy veggie stand are unreal. My advice to the team here is just say no if you can’t make a custom pie when people call in. Traditional key lime pie has a graham cracker crust and tastes like lime, for the record.

I used to love Life of Pie quiches but not lately and not just because the price has increased! Much better quiches at Red Apron and 3 Tarts for less $$.

Out of this world fabulousness! Everything is delicious, even the crust. The Sweet Potato & Goat Cheese Quiche is the best I've ever tasted. It was 3:14pm when I was eating their Blueberry Crisp Pie, right on time for pie time! 10/5 stars!

The shop also serves savory crepes like the flavorful caprese crepe.
Fantastic experience!! The staff was super attentive, made accommodations for allergies ahead of time and everything was brought out promptly 👏🏿 I would highly recommend coming here for high tea, especially if you’ve never done it before. There were enough options for everyone to have something they liked Scones were 10/10 Note the group gratuity fee if you’re over 7 people - 20%

I guess the days of pretty tea cups, dollies, cloth napkins & tablecloth, etc are done?! Cold stoneware just doesn't offer the ssme "high tea" vibe/feeling. The pots of tea were small in size, no ambiance whatsoever, service, sandwiches were just ok. Macaroons, amazing!! Towards end of our tea, the amount of noise coming from the the staff cleaning up was incredibly loud!! Price for experience; not worth it. I would only come back for the macaroons!

I have been visiting this gorgeous little cafe for about a month now, I haven't had a chance to share my experience until now. WOW! Service and food are all 5 Star. There signature macaroons are absolutely amazing! Delightful flavors and packaging sure to surprise and please the most discerning palate. The decor is so sweetly done, beautiful antiques and a variety of table sizes and styles tucked into the perfectly private nook or a sunlit spot in the front to watch the world go by. The dark haired young lady who has served me several times greets me by name. Highly recommend you drop by on a visit to Westboro. Finally got in for sit in breakfast! Had the spinach, egg and cheese crape, mouthwatering!

Great experience here. Went with 3 adults and 2 kids - I really liked how there were tailored food options for the kids. The teas were amazing and the macarons were so fresh and flavourful. I could rave about the food all day long. If you're looking for a more casual "high tea" experience, I definitely recommend coming here.

This afternoon my friend and I came to this cozy cafe for Classic Afternoon tea service. Marisol quickly seated us in a quiet corner of the cafe. She explained our choices very well and made some recommendations. I was very pleased with the variety of choice I had for high tea. The tea was delicious - so was the petite sandwiches. The clotted cream was heavenly (my favourite) with my blueberry scone. Overall, we had a relaxing delicious lunch and didn't feel rushed. I finished my meal with my personal highlight: the outrageously delicious salted caramel brownie! We were too full to have the macaroons, which we brought home to enjoy later. I highly recommend Quelque Chose. Next time, I'll plan to visit on Wednesday afternoon for bogo 50% -- what a deal!! My only regrete is I failed to take a photo of our tower of goodies - Next time!
Veronica T — Google review
Best I’ve tried in ages. Girlfriend bought a pack and I ended up taking most of her pack. Each flavour of Macaron clearly has a true flavour. Something like their lavender tastes like they got the real flower to crush into their mix. The right balance of sweet and delicate. 10/10

3.5/5 overall. We came for afternoon tea as part of a birthday celebration. Waited about 50 minutes for our tower of food to come, by that time our teapots were lukewarm. Cafe wasn't busy, only two other tables for lunch, it seemed like they didn't have enough staff to do tea service and keep up with walks ins and UberEats orders. We were happy with the food and tea, but didn't think it was worth $48/person plus tax and tip. Thankfully they have a bogo 50% deal on Wednesdays.

We had a nice Afternoon Tea for two guests earlier this month. The savoury sandwiches were on fresh bread and tasted good. The scone tasted VERY good, very buttery and flaky but there was no clotted cream for the scone. A croissant was also served. I also enjoyed the two cakes that were served with the Afternoon Tea. This is a very casual simple tea experience (it's not a fancy venue) but worth a visit.

We ordered from Quelque Chose for our baby shower and were very happy with the level of service we received and how delicious the food was (croissant sandwiches, wraps, beet salad, macarons and the chocolate lava cakes in particular were a hit). Would definitely recommend Quelque Chose as a great catering option in Ottawa!

I ordered a cake made of raspberries, white chocolate and pistachios and it was absolutely delicious and beautiful. Tout est bon ici (croissants, scones, sandwich, crêpes etc). Ce n’est pas juste des macarons.

actually one of the better cafe's in this area. everytime i've came in, the staff are always informative and friendly. i see people comllaining about the prices, but i feel like it's reasonable for a place that handcrafts their drinks and bakes their own food. i love getting iced latte's with the caramel syrup, it never disappoints. i also love their scones and crossionts. the only downside is their macarons. the flavors are okay, but their consistency seems very store-bought. overall its a decent place and i recommend at least trying it once.

I finally got to try what good macarons are supposed to taste like 😋 Michelle was super nice and very helpful. My FAVOURITES were: - brownie - tiramisu - Nutella Also good: - pumpkin spice Not bad: - salted caramel (a bit salty for my taste) - cherry Their Americano was good as well. The macarons are pricey, but tasty. I enjoyed this place! Definitely try them out 😊

I really enjoyed the croissants and pastries — I think they’re some of the best in Ottawa. However, the interior could use a bit of an update. For example, the wobbly table by the window near the couch needs fixing, and the carpet at the entrance seems to be over 20 years old — it would be nice to replace it. It would also be great if the place was cleaned more often: remove trash and vacuum regularly. Dear owners, if you don’t have the time to take care of this, I’d be happy to help — just invite me!
Natalie — Google review
Stopped in for a cappuccino and a tea and both hit the spot. The tea is a loose leaf so not a crummy regular tea bag. There were lots of pasteries and sandwiches to choose from, staff were friendly and the service was great. Lots of space to sit down and even a quiet zone to study away from the main seating area.
Team T — Google review
We went here as we saw that they had a lot of food selection. We chose the breakfast croissant that comes with a free brewed coffee. Their croissants are huge by the way, what you can see on the photo is a croissant cut in half. Croissant was airy and flaky, not dense at all. I ordered a pistachio iced latte, it wasn't bad but there was just an after taste that I couldn't really tell what it was from. Definitely deserves another visit so we can try more!

employees were lovely. Service was lovely. food And drink though miss the mark a little bit for me. Got a latte it was kind of watery and didn’t taste like my flavour shots. I added. Got a chocolate croissant and it didn’t have very much chocolate in it besides being a really big pastry. otherwise great atmosphere though. Would definitely give it another shot to try something else.

The cake was delicious but expensive. I paid $16 for a piece of cake and one cookie. But more importantly, the cafe was filthy, as it was when I went 8 years ago. I decided to try again this past weekend and will not return. There should be a food inspection of this place; tables were dirty and dirty dishes were piled up in boxes. While the service was fine, management needs to be much better.

Art-Is-In Bakery is a trendy and modern bakery-cafe that offers a variety of bread, pastries, and baguettes, as well as breakfast and sandwiches. The cafe gained popularity for its take on the cronut, a croissant-donut hybrid invented in New York City. Each day, they freshly prepare different flavors of this irresistible treat such as Cherry Pistachio, Chai, and Peanut Butter and Jelly O-Towner.
Art-Is-In Bakery is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the smell of freshly baked bread fills the air, making it impossible not to get excited about what’s to come. The vibe is modern yet cozy, with a welcoming atmosphere perfect for a casual breakfast, brunch, or a quick coffee break. The croissants are next-level—flaky, buttery, and perfectly crisp on the outside with a soft, airy interior. I also tried their sourdough bread, and it was phenomenal—chewy, flavorful, and with just the right amount of tang. Their brunch menu is equally impressive; the breakfast sandwich on a fresh-baked bun was absolutely delicious, and the pastries were beautifully made and full of flavor. The coffee was great, the service was friendly, and despite being busy, everything was well-organized. Whether you’re a bread lover, a pastry enthusiast, or just looking for a fantastic spot to grab a bite, Art-Is-In Bakery is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!

Too expensive. Food good but not great. No one checked on us. My drink didn't taste like cherry or vanilla. Was disappointed as it was recommended drink. Felt strange giving a tip when no one had even served us yet. Had to order and pay at counter. Coffee, soda, cookie, two breakfast sandwiches and one side for 74 dollars and we had to get our own water..not very impressed. Staff was nice though, just wish someone would have come by and asked how things were. Seems to be a popular place!

Show them this picture and order this(forgot the name of it) but it was the yummiest brunch i had in a while. They also have homemade tomato sauce that tastes nothing like i have ever tasted before very flavourful. The service is ok and atmosphere doesn’t have much to offer but the food was yummy.

Best breakfast, best pizza, best cronuts, best bread - especially Kevin's buttermilk. The ingredients are of high quality. Love the atmosphere. There's free parking if you scan the QR code when you first walk in.

Expensive but butter and chocolate croissants are really good. Nice and crispy outside and so flaky. So buttery inside. The crazy grain bread is really good! Yum! Outside seating is a parking lot that’s fenced in so not the greatest atmosphere. Inside is loud and has a disorganized feeling. I got stuff to takeaway instead of staying. No way am I paying the price they wanted for a breakfast lol. But glad I tried the pastry. 🥐

We’ve always wanted to try Art-Is-In for breakfast because of all the great reviews, and we’ve visited twice before to try their pastries, which are absolutely amazing! You can tell they’re super professional when it comes to baked goods—this time, the hazelnut-chocolate-coffee pastry was fantastic. That said, our breakfast experience was a bit of a letdown. We ordered the Egg Benny and The Breakfast Plate, but both were just average and nothing special. The bun on the Benny was soaked in oil, which made it unpleasant. As for the coffee, it tasted burnt, and even when I asked for a replacement, it was burnt again. I also ordered an Americano but was served filter coffee instead. The mocha was decent, but at $8 for a medium size, it felt overpriced. On a positive note, the staff here are super nice and friendly, which made the experience more enjoyable despite the issues. We’ll definitely come back for the pastries—they’re worth it! We also noticed a lot of people ordering their pizza, and it looked amazing, so that’s on our list to try next time.

It was my first time trying Art is in bakery and I came specifically to try a cronut for the first time. It my have been an off day but the ones I purchased have a bitter/burnt taste. I thought the colour was due to it being chocolate but it wasn't. For the price of one of those these overcooked/ burnt ones should not have been sold. The atmosphere while waiting to purchase was great, everyone was really friendly but the end experience was negative.

If you're looking for a fun brunch spot in Ottawa, this cute little eatery is a must-visit! It’s bustling and compact, so we did wait about 30 minutes for a table, but it was totally worth it—especially since they’ll notify you when your table's ready! I indulged in the delicious Blackstone Egg Benny with a refreshing mimosa, while my friend savored the avocado toast. Both dishes were generous and fairly priced, too! The friendly and attentive staff made our experience even better. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on this gem!

We were lucky enough to grab a spot at this popular breakfast spot one busy morning, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Went here for brunch with the family. Great atmosphere with friendly staff. We had the poutine, Eggs Benedict, burger and French Toast and Tostadas. Everything was delicious. It's a little on the pricier side, but we could tell the quality of the ingredients, so we thought the extra cost was well worth it. This restaurant was very busy when we went (afternoon) so we had to wait about 30 mins for a table. Unfortunately, they do not take reservations and they do not have their own parking lot so we had to find street parking. The food was so delicious and the staff were so friendly that we will definitely come again for another meal!

Tried Wilf and Ada’s on the recommendation of my brother who lives nearby and we wanted something within walking distance. It was quite busy already 11:00am on a Thursday but we still had a choice of seats. Went for a table along the back wall for a little more quiet. Staff was great and patient with someone like me who has eating challenges. I went for the avacado egg which was delicious as was the eggs Benedict my husband opted for. Staff was all fabulous. Meal was quick and tasty and delivered quickly. Brothers recommendation was bang on!

We managed to get a table here for 4 on a pretty busy Friday brunch time. It's a small place, with a very cozy neighborhood feel. We had today's special, which was a pastrami sandwich and an order of French toast. We wanted to share plates amongst ourselves and the staff went out of their way to portion the plates themselves for each of us! That's remarkable service - deserving of a tip. Will definitely consider revisiting in the future.

I was quite happy with or brunch at Wilf & Ada's. Service was attentive but I was surprised that the sugar was whisked off my table when it was. Do they not have enough sugar bowls?? The coffee was good and replenished when needed. We had to wait a bit as it is very popular. (30 minutes) My only issue was in going to the bathrooms there. The bathrooms are at the back and you had to get past the open kitchen. What surprised me was someone doing food prep in that aisle. Not only was I surprised that it was located next to the bathrooms but it was outside of the kitchen!! The floor was noticeably greasy and a little tricky to walk on. This issue should be addressed given the number of customers that this highly popular restaurant serves.

Tavern On The Hill, also known as Tavern at the Hill, is a seasonal outdoor restaurant located in Majors Hill Park in Ottawa, ON. It offers stunning views of the National Gallery of Canada and Parliament Hill. The location provides a picturesque backdrop for enjoying gourmet hot dogs with unique toppings and refreshing drinks while listening to live jazz music. This dog-friendly establishment has outdoor tables where visitors can dine with their furry companions.
Very cool setting, like an outdoor living room at the top of a hill, with actual couches and beanbag chairs on a wooden patio with beautiful foliage all around, overlooking the river. This place is so cool and unique! Perfect for a chill hangout!

I really like the outdoor area here—the view is fantastic. The only issue I have with both branches of this bar is the time it takes to get food or drinks. I think this time I waited about 25 minutes just to buy a beer. It might be necessary to hire more staff. Also, if you need something and want to ask for help, you have to wait quite a while until someone from the staff passes by. Considering the large space and the number of people that come here, there definitely aren't enough staff members. However, the staff are very kind and friendly, and they even offer blankets if you feel cold. On the positive side, this location is open until 2 AM, the music was great, the weather was perfect, and I was enjoying my favorite drink and having a good time.

A really nice atmosphere. Food is pretty mid and in small portions. My hotdog order was lost somewhere in between orders so it took abt an hour to get it but it tasted ok. The Kimchi caesar was nice though

Stopped here for dinner. The setup is a little strange - you have to get in line to order food and then find a table (it’s open seating). They give you a number and bring your food to your table. If you want to order an alcoholic drink, you need to go to the bar to order (you can’t order it with your food). Hot dogs were okay, not bad but nothing special. However, the seating was comfortable, the atmosphere was relaxed and the views were great.
Miranda B — Google review
Spent a wonderful evening at Tavern on the hill. Great views of the river and beautiful tree to sit under. You have to go order drinks and food, they give you a number and bring your food when it's ready.

This is exactly what needs to exist in this very spot. Just having a place to chill and grab drinks right by the river and Kiweki point is so prime. Super open and chill vibe with live music, some food, and drinks. I really like that you go up and order your food and drinks rather than ording at the table. It adds to the open, almost beach-y vibe. The staff are all quite friendly and helpful, and the live band was great. Big ups to having live music in a spot like this. As other reviews have mentioned, the food isn't going to change your life, but it's decent. Same with the drinks. I would say they are all fine, and priced very reasonably, especially given the location. It feels like they are really striking a good balance here. $7.25 for a pint (as of 2025) is perfectly reasonable and I'm happy to see it. I hope this never changes because this is the kind of stuff downtown needs! Really bringing life to downtown. I'm excited to see how this place moves and improves, especially given that it seems the owners are following the reviews here and taking criticism well! A few notes: The washrooms nearby are very limited so on a busy day there can be LINES. Also I do think there is some room for improvement on some aspects of the food. And I think itnis possible that there was a blown speaker or something somewhere on the patio while we were there. But not 100% sure.

I recently had the opportunity to try ALE - Amberwood Lounge & Eatery and was impressed by their vegan menu. The setting on the patio, which overlooks a golf course, provides a pleasant escape from the city. The service was exceptional, and the food itself was outstanding. I started with a delightful mojito made with peach and mango flavors before indulging in cauliflower wings as an appetizer. My boyfriend enjoyed the trio tacos and tried their vegan fish and chips.
Not only is ALE a great restaurant, it’s a great place for weddings and events! Ben at ALE is the perfect person to help you with your upcoming wedding! He has all the perfect contacts for vendors and makes the sometimes stressful process of planning a wedding a breeze. Ben was so accommodating to us and our guests! Not only is the space beautiful at ALE but the food and drinks at your wedding will truly be remembered. With impeccable service and gorgeous views don’t hesitate to check out ALE for yourself!

We got married at ALE in September 2024, and we can't thank this venue enough for making our day absolutely perfect! From start to finish, the team went above and beyond to ensure everything ran seamlessly. First off, Ben is an absolute ALL-STAR when it comes to every little detail on your big day. He’s there every step of the way—holding your dress, fetching water, assisting with photos, answering questions, directing guests—you name it, he does it. His dedication made such a difference, and we truly couldn’t have asked for better support. The entire ALE team was an absolute pleasure to work with—attentive, kind, and incredibly organized. They handled everything, from the stunning decor to the delicious food, making the entire planning process stress-free. Our wedding had about 80 guests for dinner, plus 20 more in the evening, and the venue was the perfect size for our group. A huge bonus is that it’s located on a gorgeous golf course—they even close off a hole so you can take sunset photos! The garden ceremony space was equally stunning, creating the most beautiful backdrop for our vows. If you’re looking for a venue that truly takes care of everything and makes your wedding day magical, ALE is the place. We couldn’t be happier with our experience!

A pleasant venue for an evening meal. We went for dinner during the evening in January. We guessed that the view would have been impressive had it been during the daytime or summer. It was unfortunately dark when we attended. The food was flavourful, and the service was friendly. They looked after us well. One of our friend's chicken wings was a little undercooked, but on the whole, it was a good meal. I would recommend the beer. The fish and chips were just OK....a little heavy on the batter, but compared to other restaurants that offer it, it was still decent. The green Thai chicken dish was excellent. The salmon that our friends ordered was flavourful too (from their feedback).

ALE is an amazing restaurant, and also a wonderful wedding venue. My spouse and I had our wedding in October 2024, and the experience was everything we could have hoped for. As vegans something we valued was a completely vegan wedding, but even our non vegan guests had a blast! We would highly recommend for a night out or for a special event!

My husband and I just had our wedding at ALE this past weekend. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect- and that was all thanks to Ben and the staff at ALE. We chose ALE as our wedding venue after meeting with Ben because of how thorough, knowledgeable and approachable he was. We were also extremely impressed with how much ALE includes in their wedding packages from decor setup and takedown, assistance with DJ booking, chair and linen rental, day-of-coordination, etc. they do it all! The atmosphere throughout the day was perfect from the outdoor ceremony space to the indoor reception area, especially the added bonus of a covered patio. Our guests have been raving non-stop about the food, the cocktails, and most of all the staff at ALE. Even external vendors commended the dedication of the ALE staff, specifically Ben for his hands-on coordination. He helped us every step of the way in our planning and was our right-hand man on the day of doing everything from organizing the wedding party, setting up the first look, helping set up our photos with our photographers and even helping with my veil and dress. We cannot recommended ALE enough for a wedding or any other event- I wish we could do it all over again! We will certainly be back in the future.

Great experience! The venue is beautiful and the food is fantastic! They have a great variety for food and drink. There is a full regular menu and a full plant based. I got the Lavender gin fizz, plant based portobello taco flight and the plant based poutine. I tried the drink with and without gin and they were both really freshening. The food was fantastic. The poutine was so good I thought they made a mistake and gave me the regular kind. The tacos are really really good! I’m not strictly plant based and I would choose those over a lot of meat tacos. Thank you to Shannon you make damn fine drinks! Thanks for checking in on us and making sure we had everything we needed. Emily was our server she was fun and had a great energy! She checked in on us regularly and was such a joy to be around!

We dined on the deck around 5:30 and the noise was deafening. We had to practically scream at one another to be heard. Indoors, it was nice and quiet but such a shame to have to dine inside on a lovely spring evening. People were enjoying themselves at a fever pitch. This is my only complaint. Otherwise, food and service are great.
Dawn V — Google review
A great place for dinner, especially for vegan food! I had the Buddha bowl and it was hearty and fresh, and a good size, as well as a side of sweet potato fries, which was good but there weren't all that many. Other orders at my group were equally tasty: the falafel bowl, vegan tacos, and black bean burger with fries. The standard fries looked a lot better than the sweet potato fries, so it would have been nice to have larger crispier sweet potato fries too. Only other complaint is that one cup came with a lipstick stain, but the waiter was quick to change it. Despite these, the atmosphere and food were great so 5 stars!

The bakery La Maison du Kouign-Amann offers a wide variety of the most exquisite French recipes to please the finest palate. Their pistachio pastries are especially heavenly and allow dine in.
This is a cute café in Kanata that offers extensive selection and wide variety of sweet and savory freshly-prepared and frozen baked goods, meals and desserts. There is literally something for everyone ... from croissant, cookies and esclaires to other pastry, full cakes and slices, as well as crepes, coffees, juices, etc. not to mention a big selection of jams, spreads, breads and frozen meals. There's something to satisfy every craving and please every taste bud. The service is genuinely friendly and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. La Maison du Kouign-Amann is a unique café in the sense that it makes you want to visit multiple times, to try something new every time, knowing that the next choice will likely top the one before it.

Today was our first visit at the bakery but won't be our last! The staff were wonderful, the food was PHENOMENAL! You have to go and give them a try! They have a little something for everyone! Hot fresh crepes, sausage rolls that were amazing I might add, I tried the strawberry cream croissant which was so rich and I couldn't stop eating it, my husband got the strawberry cheesecake and was loving every forkful! We brought home some cinnamon rolls and a caramel cream croissant for later! There were so many choices though!

I drove all the way to Kanata about 30 minutes from where I live. Excited cause I thought there’s a new local French bakery in town. Oh, I’m very much disappointed. The place doesn’t have that warm ambience, as you walk in, there is one or two staff. People are waiting in queue holding their Panini or baguette for takeout. Standing like a sore thumb. They don’t know how to accommodate their customers, they are not organized, in other words they have no proper system! I felt like I’m eating in a food court actually food court is better! Their food is tasteless! And I agree with the other previous comments, that their pastries are previously frozen cause what I bought was not fresh at all. The place is also surrounded with clear refrigerators and freezers. Think of it like walking in M&M meet Shops without Brand name. Except M&M has a better service.

I heard about this place @ CBC radio show a while ago and I finally had an opportunity to check this place out. Eat in cafe and take out food options. There were a lot of frozen meal options to purchase, like pie, tarts, cheesecake, scones, dainish, quiche, pasta, lasagna, and such. They all looked amazing. A bit pricy though. Variety of cakes and tarts in the display fridge. They all looked pretty and delicious . I bought a few to try. The cakes were overly too sweet for our liking unfortunately. The mango chocolate cake was too dry and disappointing. I bought some frozen meals and I am looking forward to trying them later.

What a great place! Get our family cakes there all the time and have really enjoyed their blueberry lemon tart too – to die for. Met new owner today and she seems like a really nice person. Have also noticed that the store has a much better supply of products since the ownership change. Can’t wait to go in this week for my weekly treat! Would recommend for sure!
Tom F — Google review
I was very excited to find this little French Bakery online, the desserts looked fantastic. I bought 3 pretty ones and brought them home for my daughter and I to try. There wasn't a single one that was any good. The only edible one was a pistachio-raspberry tart. And even that was disappointing. They reminded me of frozen cakes that had been thawed out, and there also wasn't much flavour. The worst of them was the lemon meringue cheesecake. Also while we were there, we noticed the owner sitting down at a table having a coffee, while 2 young employees were running back and forth trying to take care of a huge lineup of customers, he could have at least run the cash for them. Or boxed some cakes for customers. I do understand that people need to take breaks during the day, but, as the owner of a business you shouldn't sit and not only make your customers wait, but also watch your young employees struggle to keep up with a line.

Visited for Saturday brunch and had B6 and B9 from their Crepe menu - both delicious and quite enjoyable. Cappuccino had the perfect amount of milk froth and whatever coffee beans they use are sure of good quality, for the cappuccino is a sure winner in their otherwise small hot coffee offerings. We also had the Raspberry Chocolate Ganache Tart and the Mango Shortcake - and no surprises they were both good with the mango Shortcake the preferred and more favoured by our party for its freshness and taste. But that being said the tart was really good too. Giving it 4 stars and a little less on the service for I had an offer through their Facebook promotion which had no t&c attached but when I tried redeeming it at the till out came all sorts of rules - really disappointed by the lack of transparency. Did I walk out without purchase - no. But did that mar the experience - absolutely yes! I dislike businesses/ brands that try and be sneaky or are not transparent with their customers - not acceptable! Would I visit again - probably yes, for the food is good but would I shout about them from the rooftops - definitely no!
Prashant M — Google review
Had the Black Forest cake last time and it was delicious. However, today I went in and got the strawberry breeze cake and it was wet and dense inside. It’s not fresh at all and probably days if not weeks old or thawed from frozen. It was inedible and I had to throw it away. For $7.99 plus tax, it is unacceptable and a complete waste of money. I will never be back again.

Three Tarts is a charming bakeshop located in downtown Ottawa, serving customers since 1996. The bakery prides itself on its traditional methods, handcrafting everything from scratch. Their menu features a variety of delectable treats such as holiday cookies, squares, pies, and cakes. With options like white chocolate cranberry and toasted pistachio tart or apple blueberry pecan crisp crumble pie, there's something for every palate.
Every bite tastes like it was crafted with care and top-quality ingredients. The tarts are perfectly balanced—flaky, buttery crusts with just the right amount of sweetness in the fillings. If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out.

I couldn’t recommend this place more. They spent time on the phone with me describing their desserts and delivery process. They wrote a hand written note and added customisation on top of the cake. It was beautifully gift wrapped too. When they weren’t going to have something in time they promptly notified me and added something else instead without an extra charge. So delicious and pretty! The delivery came at night the next day.

This bakery across the street is a true hidden gem. Everything is handmade with care, and the attention to detail comes through in every bite. Their tarts are especially impressive — beautifully made, balanced in flavor, and always fresh. There’s a great mix of sweet options, and some savory treats too. It’s clear they take pride in their craft. Perfect for a mid-day pick-me-up or a treat to bring back to the office. We’re lucky to have them so close!

I would highly recommend purchasing your baked goods from Three Tarts! I'm not from Ottawa, but I wanted to send some surprise goodies to a family member on an important day. Emily was super responsive and helped coordinate a seamless delivery, going out of her way to help me out. On top of that, the Aidan's cake and the Savoury Tart were delicious per my family!

Great selection of tarts and cakes. Tried the classic cheesecake and French chocolate mousse (this one was a little too sweet for my taste, but still delicious). My go-to when craving something decadent and rich!

Three Tarts is a lovely bakery that offers a selection of wonderful, beautiful, delicious desserts. The carrot cake is delightful and moist. The lemon meringue tart is delicious, tart and light while the lemon cheese cake steals the show. Thus far, we have sampled many of their selections and have been satisfied every single time. We highly recommend.

Bread & Sons is a cozy bakery and cafe that offers a variety of sweet and savory items, including deli sandwiches and pizza. The bakery is known for its impeccable pastries, such as the hazelnut espresso cream-filled croissant. In addition to their pastries, they also serve delicious sandwiches and pizzas during lunchtime. Their focaccia and pizza crust are particularly noteworthy, as they are a testament to their mastery of dough.
One of those 'I want to try everything because everything looks great' spots that actually lives up to how good the food looks. I spent a good 5 minutes trying to find this place as there's no signs outside, but boy am I happy I found it. Pizza with the roasted garlic and onion is sublime. Both cookies are to die for, and the FETA thing (not pictured) was my favorite of the bunch. Loved everything there.
Tarek E — Google review
I went to try Bread and Sons for lunch today for the first time. I wanted to try it based on all the great reviews. I ordered the gouda sandwich which was supposed to be "life changing". The gouda wasn't melted at all after asking for it to be grilled and there was no arugula on it which was detailed in the description. Instead they used romaine lettuce. Kinda disappointed. The many capers mixed with olive compote is quite overpowering and the focaccia bread is so hard! No idea why this sandwich gets such a great review. I found it expensive at $10.62 plus tax. I tried the butter croissant as well to see if it was as good as people say. It was very nice to be fair. 👍🏼 Edit: just to say thanks a lot to the owner for the refund. I will go in hopefully soon to try something else. I truly appreciate the contact from the owner and the effort to fix the issues. I have upped the service to a 5 star as client service is really good :). update will follow Add: I did go back and got the breakfast sandwich and the feta boreka. The boreka was super crunchy and the sesame crusted top was delicious. It was a bit salty, but that's because it's filled with feta cheese. Really nice! The breakfast croissant is unbelievable. I want to get this again actually. Two poached eggs on a croissant with cheese and warmed up. Mmmmm. The eggs were still a bit soft which was really nice. The cheese was lovely as well. Really had a European feel to it. Yum! I want to try all the croissants now. 😋

Easily the best spot I've found for donuts that are both gluten free and vegan! Make sure to check out their fridge too, they carry lots of unique local vegan grocery items

Great vegan bakery in the Westboro area. They currently have a max capacity of 2 customers due to the COVID restrictions. The store is small but very clean. Also, the decor is simple yet tasteful. The service was good. The worker welcomed us and answered all the questions we had. I was really glad to see that they offered not only vegan options but gluten free ones as well. Their desserts are very creative and are aesthetically pleasing. We got a blueberry scone, peanut butter and strawberry Twinkie, double chocolate cookie sandwich, vanilla doughnut, whipped berry spritz and cherry spritz. All the desserts were delicious and the spritz were very tasty. We will definitely return again and try more of their options.

Mamie Clafoutis Ottawa is a pastry shop that specializes in traditional French cakes and pastries as well as sweet treats inspired by the cuisine of France. The shop is large and open with exposed brick walls, making it a popular spot for coffee or dessert after a day of shopping.
We went to Mamie Clafoutis because we saw the baked goods in the window and were excited to try them. It’s a French bakery so you can find a variety of baked goods, sandwiches, and soups. We tried three items to share - almond croissant, chocolatine, and the cheese bread and they were all delicious. Prices are reasonable for the baked goods (around $5) and you order at the glass displays and pay at the end. There are also cafe drinks available.

Best bakery in Ottawa and always consistent. They now offer different catering services and they are very reasonable considering they actually make everything! There's also a high tea menu that requires 1 or 2 days in advance but also seems great!

I am usually very happy with everything from here, but that was all the tomato you could afford to put on my sandwich? Don't bother next time, and you can see the two pieces of lettuce i took off as well! Another time, we ordered pistachio croissants to go, and they were over baked and dry like sawdust. Don't cover your over baked croissants in icing sugar, and try to pass them off as servable!

I got an apple danish, the sliced apples were nice and fresh and the pastry was soft and crispy edges. A bit pricey but not bad for treating yourself lol

Unfortunately the pastries and more of a miss than a hit these days. Mami Kouign was dry and tasted like old butter and cookies were all dried out. The bread still beats Cobb down the road.

Got an almond croissant, kouing and raspberry cookie. They were dry and low on flavour, tasted more like bread than a pastery. Icing sugar doesn't make it better. I'd call this an "americanized" version of a French bakery. Staff was very kind and service was quick. Try Oddo right accross the bridge, it's in a league above.

ThimbleCakes is a charming bakery located on 369 Bank St. that specializes in creative vegan cupcakes and cakes without nuts, gluten, and eggs. The vintage-meets-modern interior creates an inviting atmosphere where the star of the show is the display of confections with dainty decorations and swirls of pastel frosting. Their menu features a variety of dessert classics including cupcakes, cakes, brownies, macaroons, and cookies with many vegan options available.
After many "not so good" cake tasting we were overjoyed when we found Thimble Cakes for our wedding. The cake was fluffy, "moist" and perfectly sweet. We chose the "cookie dough" cake and I still dream about it 6 months later. They offer gluten free and vegan options which are amazing. Communication was easy via email or phone and they executed my requests perfectly. I ultimately went with a very simple design but its exactly what I wanted. I definitely will be stopping by the bakery very soon to help with these cookie dough cupcake dreams.

Thimble cake is a cute little bakery on bank street. I am gluten free and I had to get a smaller cake for myself for a party. The mini rose cake was perfect. They even gave us a cute little personalized sugar disk. The cake itself was beautiful, very fluffy but was just a tad too sweet for my liking. Other than that I will definitely return and try some of their other desserts!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Thimble Cakes. Discovered them when my daughter had peanut allergies and never stopped going. Cupcakes are delicious but also check out their vegan ice cream. It is so delicious (and I'm not vegan, so i remember what ice cream is suppose to taste like) you will not be disappointed!

As vegans, I am a bit particular about a good vegan dessert, but Thimblecakes has NEVER disappointed. All our wedding guests, vegan, non-vegan, and some gluten free, were over the moon for these deserts. I highly recommend the quality and taste of Thimblecakes desserts. Our cake was a lemon cake with lemon curd (we added the dried citrus ourselves). We had an assortment of (all vegan) cookie dough (a favourite), vanilla love, lemon love, and gluten free carrot cupcakes. Also prior to ordering for the wedding we received a complementary tasting box to help us choose which flavours of cake and fillings we enjoyed best. Photos by: Shawn Kerr

Super cute bakery serving up gluten free and vegan baked goodies! I tried their cupcakes in the black forest, lemon love, and raspberry puff flavors. I enjoyed the cake’s moist and deep chocolate flavor. I didnt love the frosting because dairy-free buttercream isn’t my cup of tea (I prefer the flavor from dairy butter and eggs in swiss meringue) but I still enjoyed the cupcakes! Le Boulanger Français, also known as The French Baker, is a unique bakery that offers a delightful selection of French pastries and bread. With a team mostly comprised of personnel from France, the bakery prides itself on creating authentic products reminiscent of a boulangerie de quartier. Using fresh and natural ingredients, they craft bread and pastries that are high in fiber while being low in fat and sugars.
Such a gem! Cannot pass by without popping for a little treat! Great selection of all.sorts of baked goods from breads to tarts to rolls. Definitely recommended, definitely worth visiting!

I had to get the woman's attention from her phone to service us. There's no labels on anything. I got a croissant and apple turnover. The pastry was tough and not flaky (poor lamination). The tarts in the display case were likely not made that day.. annoying there was no place to sit inside despite having the space for a table or two.
Amanda — Google review
I recently visited this charming French bakery and was delighted by the quality of their pastries—especially the éclair, which was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. The choux pastry was light and perfectly baked, with a rich, silky filling and a glossy chocolate glaze that struck just the right balance between sweet and indulgent. However, I was surprised (and admittedly a bit disappointed) to find that they don’t offer croissants. For a French bakery, this felt like a notable omission. It would’ve been nice to enjoy a classic buttery croissant alongside my coffee. That said, what they do offer is clearly made with care and expertise. If you’re an éclair enthusiast or simply looking for a well-crafted treat, this place is worth the visit. Just don’t come in expecting the full spectrum of French staples.

This place has gone downhill since the pandemic. Used to make the best success cake. Nowadays they don’t include almonds on it and doesn’t taste as good. Suspect the baker has changed. Costs over $40 too. Overrated

I love the wonderful smell of this place! They have the best baguettes and the best chocolate mousse cake! 😌 However croissants and some sweet baked treats are a bit too heavy for my taste and miss some fluffiness. I still highly recommend it.

Very good croissant and breads. As several have mentioned, the service isn't the best and the man at the cash makes yo you feel like you're inconveniencing him. I haven't tried the pastries, but their croissants and breads are very good. I've been coming here for years, and if you can get over the mediocre service, you'll enjoy the baked goods.

The service killed this establishment for us. First of all, no seating, dirty exterior and above all the lady that was at the counter. When we walked in she was playing with a customer’s dog. I respect that you love dogs; but when serving peoples food, maybe reconsider. After she played with the dog, she went to wash her hand(plus pointa) but then when we was back, I saw her scratching her belly under her shirt!!! Here’s a croissant with a side of eczema?!! Come on. Get your act together!

Small bakery just a couple of streets away from the bustling Byward Market. They have a variety of French pastries that are made fresh on site and it smelled amazing. We ended up grabbing breakfast pastries and coffee here twice on our trip to Ottawa, service was very friendly, pastries were delicious and safety protocols were in place. Will definitely visit again next time we come to Ottawa.

Bread & Roses Bakery is a delightful haven for food lovers, where every visit feels like a special occasion. On a sunny Saturday morning, the baristas greeted guests with warmth and efficiency, making the experience even more enjoyable. Their strawberry matcha was elevated by the suggestion of oat milk, creating a deliciously creamy treat. Guests can savor samples of their fantastic sourdough while enjoying cheesecake and drinks in an adorably organized space that makes browsing easy and fun.
The baristas working the saturday July 5 2025 opening shift were amazing. They were both super kind, efficient, and helpful. My strawberry matcha was excellent and the barista recommended oat milk, which made it even better. I was offered a sample of great sourdough and sat outside with my cheesecake and drink. Inside is super cute and well organized, it’s really easy to see all the prices and names etc. Super happy with my experience! Thanks!

I really like this place and we've been there a dozen times before as they usually are great but today it was a disaster. They have hot air blasting on the only three small tables; bakeries are understandably too hot to begin with why blast hot air right onto the customers? We order samosas and sausage rolls to eat in. I asked to have them heated up, but I was told to use the microwave behind us. The microwave was filthy inside with foods leftover from whomever used it last. I asked for a plate but was told they didn't have any. So, I heated them up in the paper bags. How do you eat a samosa without a plate, with your hands? Samosas are hot and they break apart so are not a "finger food". Then I asked for spoons for the soup; and I was told they were were beside the microwave, but I said they were out of spoons and was told a second time that they were by the microwave. I had to ask a third time, pointing at the empty spoon tray before someone got us spoons. After we ate, we tried putting our trash in the only garbage can we could find but the opening of the garbage can was too small for the soup bowls (see photos). Lastly, there is no formal ordering counter and all counter tops between the staff and the clients have stuff piled on to about 4-5 feet so you have to peer left or right to be able to see the staff; I know this is a small, independently-owned business that cannot afford elaborate renovations, but even a sign that said, "ORDER HERE" would help. We will go back because the food is usually very good, but we will never plan to eat inside again.

I went to pick up my order today which was a Strawberry shortcake (whole cake) for my late birthday celebration with my family. I've been very happy with Bread & Roses, even recommend this bakery shop to my family, friends and even my neighbours. The staff were excellent, very friendly. I moved 45 mins away from the bakery shop, still I had my heart for this cake. But after 6 years ordering the same cake for my birthday, this time the quality and the taste is not the same anymore. The sponge cake tastes like cheap, the icing is not the same, the strawberry on top of the cake is disappointing. The price went up, but the quality of the cake, changed. First picture of the cake is how it used to be, the second picture is what we got today. I hope in the future the cake will go back to the same quality again.

I’m really disappointed with my experience. The pastry tastes stale, and the texture is quite unpleasant. I ordered a lemon meringue pie, but it tastes like an old cake. I’ve been trying to convince myself that it’s good, but I can’t even finish it.

Stopped for a treat during my bike ride. It was the best apple turnover over I've ever had. I drove back later that day to get more for my family. They all liked it too. Will stop by again when I'm in the area.

Ordered a 4 layer cake - it tasted amazinggg and looked beautiful. Buttery, tender and moist - perfectly balanced with just the right amount of richness and airiness. The icing was the perfect amount of sweet and the salted caramel was the cherry on top! Will Def be back!

This cafe was exceptionally inviting and delicious. We fell upon it by chance looking for a place in Hintonburg for a fab espresso! Oh my gosh you have to try this location as the staff are super friendly and committed to a great experience. I tried the Ganache Mocha and it was yummy! Thanks for a great vibe and easy good Friday destination to chill! Cheers, Spicy Jan

Cute spot for sandwiches and bakery items! Came here with my family on a Sunday morning to have a simple breakfast + coffee + treats. We ordered a grilled cheese, breakfast croissants, scones, an apple well, and a muffin. The sandwiches were more than satisfactory, the scones were to die for, and the desserts were okay. Overall I’m quite pleased with the food. The service was friendly, the place was clean, and the vibe was great. Definitely coming back.

Lovely coffee shop and bakery with friendly staff, alternative milks, good coffee selection and great pastries. Warm, welcoming, cosy and unpretentious inside. Seats at the window were a good place to just watch the world go by. Coffee was really good (and I had decaf which isn't always a great choice at coffee shops).

The bakery Voila Gluten Free Bakeree Kanata specializes in gluten free goodness, with a wide variety of baked goods to choose from. They use certified gluten-free ingredients and natural sweeteners, making sure their goodies are safe for those with allergies to wheat, barley, rye, dairy, eggs, peanuts, nuts and tree nuts.
Ive recently developed a rather aggressive intolerance to gluten and with my birthday coming up was pretty bummed about not being able to have a decent cake. My husband ordered this for me and oh my god. Not only was it one of the best gluten free desserts I've had so far, but it may be the best birthday cake I've ever had in general. Not too sweet, actually moist, no intense artificial or sweet taste. As an avid sweet treat consumer this was incredible.

Large order of treats delivered as a birthday surprise from my daughter. Would have preferred a list of items. Was unsure about dough and rye bread as I’m highly allergic. Had to call to find out. It was “mock” rye which was great. Even better flavour the following day. Eclairs are my favourite. So soft and delicious. Lemon pie, cinnamon bun with cream cheese icing also top notch. Everything was good! Courteous delivery staff who confirmed order was for me. Every item was well packaged. Curious about delivery costs as I’d like to make another order. Did not see on website.

We had a wonderful GF birthday cake made to order. The owner was very accommodating with my request for a lemon cake and it was sooo awesome to get such a gaint gf cake! The sweets are very good! The blueberry cheesecake is awesome! But the most important thing no matter how good the food is, customer service :) Welcoming, not-rude and non-condescending approach to a customer is very much appreciated. I highly recommend this place to people with allergies like me. They’re not just gluten-free they’re also soy-free. I will surely come back for more! 😉

Voila Bakeree is fantastic, I bought a full selection of sweets from the bakery and I was very happy. My husband and I particularly loved the coconut cream pie. Everything that I tasted was very good to excellent quality. I felt like the home cooking I had missed since becoming gluten free in 1997 had finally caught up with me. I'll be going back soon for more chocolate chip cookies and a pie or cake if they have one. Thank you, Ryan, for making such good stuff.

Their gluten-free food, baked goods and pies are amazing and the staff recognize you. For me they know my allergies and make sure to take that into account and always have lots of delicious treats and food, even spring rolls! Following the COVID rules set out by the government of Ontario, while still maintaining their wonderful atmosphere. They even have paper menu copies you can pick up in store! Best gluten-free bakery in Ottawa. Wonderful prices as well, fresh food, and it’s usually equal or cheaper than the grocery store foods. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ They even ask about your pets health, since there’s a vet in the same plaza. I have never had a bad experience at this store.

Overall: Well-priced and plenty of options. 1000 times better than the other gluten-free bakery in Kanata where everything just tastes like sugar Carrot Cake: Amazing, better than many cakes with gluten. Chocolate macaroon: Too much sugar for my liking, couldn't force myself to eat more than half Tried other options on other occasions: Coconut cream tart: Fantastic, not too tart & not too sweet Butter tart: Good & not too sweet Chocolate buttercream cupcake: This was out of stock twice when I went there in the late afternoon, but it was good when I came early enough to get one Vanilla buttercream cupcake & dairy-free chocolate cupcake(not buttercream): Good - the chocolate buttercream is the best one though

Ordered a french chocolate cake last month for a very special person's birthday with some detailing on it. The cake was scrumptious and the details I had asked were done so perfectly. Amazing people, wonderful bakery. I would especially note their raisin bread (Thursdays only) is the best ever, if you like it dense and chewy. The chocolate croissants are to die for. Strongly recommend getting both fresh out of the oven at opening time - chocolate will be molten. Yum!

Hands down the best chocolate chip cookie in Ottawa and so far that I have ever tasted. Extremely rich and buttery I suspect which makes this my special treat. Breads are incredibly as well and you really can not go wrong with any of the baked choices. Add that to their very friendly service, you have a recipe for success.

My wife and I stopped here while in the area visiting and we each had a cupcake. They were the BEST cupcakes I have ever had. I had a lemon buttercream cupcake, and I was very impressed. It was not too sweet, but very flavorful. I will definitely return next time I in Ottawa.

Great service and value. We recently ordered some squares for an event and asked them to be cut up in bite sized pieces. They were delicious and well presented each in their own paper and convenient to pick up in pizza boxes for us to put out on trays at our venue. They were recommended from a friend and I would recommend them for your self catered events too!
Jess I — Google review
Best croissants I've had and very good cupcakes. My only complaint is that I find the icing on the cupcakes insanely sweet and can never finish one without a sugar overload. It's unfortunate because I love the flavours.
Julia R — Google review
Had a chocolate cupcake that was very heavy and filled with too much dense chocolate in the middle, if you like a kind of weird overly heavy cupcake then it is decent but I would consider for most people that it is not really the ideal texture for a cupcake. The bread is heavy as well, however in this case is works well, and for their bread I will be coming back. **Edit** I have gone back a few times when getting bread which still remains to always be delicious, and I got tempted by the sweets a few times so I bought a few. They were always weird, I don't quite know how they are messing up their sweets. For instance their lemon square which tasted meh at best, had kind of terrible presentation/texture with the curd not really setting and so when they put the square into a bag the square completely fell apart with most of the curd separating from the base. I have also tried a few other sweets, but they were very bland, and to be honest I am not quite sure why... maybe shortening instead of butter? Or forgetting to add salt? Really too bad as I really do like their bread and especially so as it isn't very expensive. So 5 stars for bread, 1 star for sweets, average it out and it is a 3 star experience. Oh, I should also add that they have been very nice to me which really makes me want to like their sweets. **Update #2 **: I actually quite like their cookies (I still buy a lot of bread there so I am tempted time to time). They are not a normal chocolate chip cookie, but more of a flat crisp cookie. I have adjusted my rating accordingly (to 4 stars).

Tartelette Bakery & Cafe is a delightful spot that offers an array of delicious baked goods and sweets. The cozy atmosphere, both inside the cafe and on the comfortable patio, provides a warm and welcoming experience. Situated off Main Street, it overlooks beautiful greenery and mature trees, creating a serene setting for visitors to enjoy. The bakery display is visually appealing, showcasing an assortment of tempting treats that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the palate.
Knew from the online presence that this place was the real deal - it was basically the whole reason I wanted to come to Ottawa - and it did not disappoint. Great skill and taste meet to make delectable pastries and treats :) The whole family picked something to fit their tastes (5&3 year old included!) and we all had to share everything because it was so good. Service was great, the cashier was super friendly. Atmosphere is cute. Outdoor seating is cute. Would 1000% visit again to try new things if we were closer. Would recommend!!

This Saturday I finally decided to head to Main St to try Tartelette after it kept popping up on my feed. It is a busy and vibrant bakery and coffee shop. Service is good. Although small, the place is clean and welcoming. Pastries look so good they seem fake: I've rarely seen croissants look this perfect. They are tasty too. I tried the plain croissant and the Smoked Salmon and cream cheese croissant and they were both excellent. The cinnamon and honey latte with almond milk was a delight. I will be going back soon for afternoon tea with my girls.

Came here with locals who highly recommended it and can see why. The pastries are not only amazing to look at but taste amazing too. They serve espresso drinks as well and use equator coffee. Staff is friendly and while things don’t move quickly they do good work. The indoor space is tiny and was completely full when we were there on a Sunday morning. I’m guessing it’s often that way so I downgraded the atmosphere a star. In warmer months there is outdoor seating so capacity is better. I had a double chocolate pain au chocolat and really enjoyed it along with a flat white. Definitely recommend!
Karl P — Google review
Tartelette is a visually pleasing cafe. The interior is lovely, and the pastries in the display case look like works of art. The quality is there but not the best I’ve ever had of the same items elsewhere. However, it is VERY expensive. While the items are high-quality, the cost feels significantly higher than at other comparable bakeries, putting it in a bracket that not everyone can comfortably afford, especially for a casual pastry. There's a real art to making something that is both tasty and affordable, and I hope they can adjust their selection so this can be a more regular destination. If you plan to visit, be prepared for the prices. Also, be warned that it gets extremely busy on the weekends, so you'll likely be dealing with a crowd. Overall, it's a nice place for a special, one-time treat, but the high cost makes it difficult to justify as a regular spot.
E. C — Google review
Nice and clean spot! Prices are reasonable, but what really stood out was the excellent service and amazing food. I was pleasantly surprised to see several pistachio options on the menu including a cheesecake infused with Mediterranean spices (rose, saffron, and cardamom), as well as a pistachio tart and croissant. I tried the cheesecake and the pistachio croissant with rose and both were delicious. Even though the croissant had sugar on top, it wasn’t overly sweet, which I really appreciated. I also ordered a matcha latte with almond milk. The matcha was strong and pleasantly bitter, just the way it should be. Individual desserts (cakes and tarts) were priced between $8.50 and $10 CAD. The ambiance was lovely, perfect for a coffee outing with friends or a casual date.

I received a trio of tarts from Tartellette as a gift from my cousin, and wow—I was so impressed with the quality and presentation! This bakery clearly puts incredible care into their work. I tried the Tiramisu Tart, the rich Chocolate Tart (with that delicious caramel center), and the beautiful, floral-looking Raspberry Tart. Every tart was flawless: the shells were perfectly crisp and buttery, and the fillings were decadent yet balanced. The Raspberry Tart was particularly light and fresh, while the Tiramisu delivered a perfect coffee punch. Even though I didn't visit the store myself, the fact that these pastries held up beautifully and tasted this good proves they are masters of their craft. And i would love to go visit the store someday…

I was really looking forward to visiting Tartelette after seeing all the posts about their delicious offerings. Maybe we were unlucky with the timing, but when we arrived the queue was out the door and from when we started to wait, until when we received our order, was over 30 minutes. We understand there are limits to how efficient a business can be, and we weren't in a rush, so no big deal right? Unfortunately I consider what we received, combined with the price we paid, to not be worth the wait. We ordered an iced dirty chai, the lemon meringue tart, and the Shirazi cheesecake. Since Tartelette doesn't serve drinks with lids (presumably for hygienic reasons; easier for consumers to choose if they want a lid and pop it on themselves - no problem), when the barista set the drink down at the collection area, she was in such a rush that she spilled a decent amount of the drink all over the counter and consequently up/down the sides of the cup. She was in such a rush that it went unnoticed and unacknowledged. I dried the cup myself and we went outside to eat. My husband described the Shirazi cheesecake as bland, and the crust was so hard that the to-go spoon wasn't able to cut through it. The lemon meringue tart was more crust and marshmallow meringue than lemon, and the lemon curd itself was more on the sweet side than tart, making the taste on the whole rather one-dimensional. The café itself is very cute and the pastry case well-presented - a feast for the eyes. We live in Northern Europe and are not strangers to paying a higher price for a café visit, but for $27, we sadly did not feel that the experience was worth it.

This place is one of my favorite spots in the city. There aren’t too many tables, but it’s definitely worth visiting and sitting down for a while. Their pistachio croissant is absolutely delicious flaky, buttery, and filled with just the right amount of flavor. It’s one of those treats you’ll want to come back for again and again. The coffee is also great and goes perfectly with the pastries. Even though the place is small, the cozy atmosphere and friendly service make it one of the best little cafés around. Totally worth a visit!

The Fairmont Château Laurier is a luxurious and historically significant hotel located in a grand limestone property. Situated alongside the Rideau Canal, this iconic castle-like structure dates back to 1912 and is considered one of Canada's most remarkable architectural landmarks. Originally commissioned by the Grand Trunk Railway, it has since become a UNESCO heritage property and a National Historic Site of Canada. The hotel offers elegant rooms, impeccable guest services, and upscale dining options.
We had our wedding at the Fairmont Château Laurier, and it was truly a magical experience! From start to finish, everything was handled with such care and professionalism. A special thank you to Mukarram, our event manager, who was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly prompt, patient, and accommodating — even with all the changes along the way. Thanks to her dedication, our wedding vision came to life perfectly. We also want to highlight Chef Hong, our banquet chef. The food was absolutely phenomenal — beautifully presented, full of flavor, and thoughtfully curated. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about it, and we’re still craving those dishes to this day! The Château Laurier itself was breathtaking. The interior and grounds were impeccably maintained, offering endless stunning backdrops for our photos. We had such a wonderful time celebrating and capturing memories around the castle. We couldn’t recommend the Château Laurier team enough — Thank you for making our wedding truly unforgettable!

We stayed here for one night while visiting Ottawa, and it turned out to be one of the most relaxing and luxurious experiences we’ve had. The room was beautifully designed, and I especially appreciated the high ceiling, which added to the sense of space and comfort. The service was excellent—attention to detail was evident throughout. Nothing felt rushed or overlooked. We were provided with plush bathrobes, including a child-sized robe, which was pretty cute. The hotel features an Olympic-sized swimming pool, where we spent a good portion of our stay. The presence of a lifeguard on duty further enhanced our sense of safety. The only drawback was the parking arrangement. Parking is valet-only, which in itself is fine, but it is not clearly advertised. Many guests, ourselves included, approached the parking lot entrance expecting a self-park option, only to find the ticket system unresponsive. Clearer communication on this policy would certainly improve the overall experience. Overall, however, this property combines luxury, comfort, and excellent amenities, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ottawa.

The hotel combines the charm of being oldish with modern furnishings in an excellent location right in the heart of city. From here, museums, top restaurants, and galleries are within easy reach, providing great starting points for exploration. Behind the hotel, there is a beautiful park with a pleasant walking path along the canal. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with bathrooms equipped with a bathtub. However, it is worth noting that there was no shampoo in the rooms, which, despite daily cleaning, was not replenished—a minor detail that could be improved. The breakfast is of good quality but quite overpriced considering the cost, slightly lowering the value for money. Suprised that the waiter takes the tip on their own, although some might find it unusual.

We spent one night at Fairmont Chateau Laurier. The check-in process involved a long queue, and we had to return because they initially assigned us a basic room on the 2nd floor which wasn’t great. But, as platinum guests, we were upgraded to a deluxe room with two baths on the 3rd floor, offering castle views. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed, Le Labo toiletries, and marble showers / bath. The restaurant and bar lounge have both been renovated. The food and drinks are fine but lack refinement. The pool and gym area are nice. Overall, the hotel has a historic feel and resembles more of a castle attraction than a true luxury hotel. Despite these points, we had a great stay, and exploring Ottawa was very convenient on foot. I would return, but I prefer the hotel to further renovate its common areas and hope for a better room. I think the hotel is more business-oriented, which might be a bit inconvenient for leisure guests. Additionally, at check-in, they did not mention that our rate included breakfast, which we only found out at checkout. I posted a detailed review about ZOE’s restaurant and bar for those interested.

Stunning historic hotel with excellent service and elegant rooms, the castle-like architecture is iconic. Location is very central, right by Parliament Hill and the canal, which makes it convenient for everything. The downside is it's quite busy being downtown, so expect some traffic noise and crowds. But if you want to be in the heart of Ottawa, this is the place. Would stay again.
Adam E — Google review
I’ve been at this hotel several times over the years, and unfortunately, the experience has declined since the pandemic. The interior now feels quite dated and worn out, especially considering the room prices. What’s more concerning is the overall atmosphere. There seems to have been a major change in the kitchen, and the food has lost much of its taste and flavour since the pandemic. After speaking with a few people, I learned that the work environment has become tense, toxic, and unpleasant. High staff turnover has driven away the competent, kind, and caring employees who took pride in their work, and made this place special. There’s a noticeable lack of morale and respect among the management and remaining staff, and this ultimately affects the guest experience, leaving a rather bitter impression. It’s very disappointing to see how much things have changed, with profits seemingly valued over the customer experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place until the owners take steps to improve the quality of food and services, and how both guests and staff are treated.

As a Wedding Planner I highly recommend the Chateau Laurier for your wedding. There are so many fabulous rooms to choose from for both your ceremony and your reception. As Ottawa's "Castle in the city" its really the most luxurious place to host your wedding. Guests can enjoy an overnight stay and come to your wedding right from their guest room which is fabulous for your out of towners. The location is perfect for all your wedding photos too. The team though is what is exceptional. From sales, to coordination, to your tasting to your actual wedding day the team wants your wedding to be perfect. When custom requests come in they do their best to accommodate, always striving to make each wedding unique. The food is also exceptional. As a wedding vendor we eat at a lot of weddings but we always look forward to a wedding dinner at Chateau Laurier. Highly recommend for your wedding, its a wonderful place to WOW your guests!

Hotel is brilliantly located and looks fantastic from the outside the majesty of the public areas reflects the history of the hotel. On check in we were told 'we used to offer buffet breakfast but now its individual items, so you can only pick one item from the menu and you will need to book'. We went to our room and had been checked in to a disabled room so we went back to reception to request a room move which was duly accommodated. The new room was nice, though the desk chair was tatty, ripped and well worn which did not match the other furniture in the room. The bathroom lacked additional amenities you would expect in a hotel of this standard such as a shower cap. The bathroom as you would expect for the age of the hotel. The room an bathroom were spotlessly clean. We then went straight to the concierge desk and a very helpful guy explained about the city and immediately booked us on to the interactive Parliament experience - exactly the service you expect from this type of hotel. Breakfast the next morning was not great. We had breakfast included in our room rate which I would not have booked had I known what breakfast entailed. We were escorted to our table, asked if we had dined there before and we said no. Again we were told 'we used to do buffet breakfast but now its individual items'. We have never been before so why tell us about the buffet? The choice of breakfast items - we were only allowed one - was limited and pretentious. The waiter was apologetic that we could only have one item and was clearly embarrassed - a lack of training I suspect or complaints that the buffet was no longer available. The food was not great, the hot food not very hot. We stayed 2 nights and breakfast the next morning we had a similar experience with a different waiter - embarrassed that we could only pick one item. My smoked salmon bagel arrived with normal salmon which was not good. I did complain and it was changed. We checked out and I explained to the receptionist how disappointed we were with the overall experience. For a hotel that is the equivalent of staying in London at a Park Lane hotel overall the Fairmont is disappointing. We really felt we were in for a special treat whilst in Ottawa but the hotel turned out to be just another hotel, lacking the flair and sparkle such a prestigious, institution like Chateau Laurier should exude.

Citizen is a stylish restaurant in Ottawa, affiliated with the well-known Town. The cocktail menu offers unique twists on classic drinks and features creative combinations, including cocktails incorporating red wine. The restaurant has a casual Nordic-inspired ambiance and serves beer, wine, cocktails, and small plates until late. It's a great place for a full meal or to enjoy obscure wines paired with an eclectic menu of small plates.
This was a very cozy restaurant with great service. We had a very friendly and knowledgeable server. The house made focaccia should not be missed. Loved the vegetarian options and large selection of NA cocktails. The presentation of the food was like art. It was a very enjoyable dinner.

Fresh ingredients , exceptional service, great dinner venue to relax and enjoy conversation. We celebrated our anniversary with dinner at Citizen. Service really set the mood. Our server was very welcoming, answered all our questions and was very attentive throughout our dinner. The vibe was laid back and the flavours were wonderful. We particularly enjoyed the ratatouille and the summer berries. It was a very lovely dinner experience. We’ll surely be back again soon.

Excellent place to enjoy great food, service and drinks. Staff is super friendly, very lively and very helpful selecting right dish or drinks. Good collection of wine. A must visit place if you are in Ottawa
Arpit M — Google review
Recently dined at this restaurant for a family-style dinner, and it was a delightful experience. The food was exceptional, and I had the pleasure of trying a variety of their unique dishes. Among all the options, the meatballs and the chocolate cake stood out as my personal favorites. The flavors were rich, and the presentation was impeccable. However, it's worth noting that the prices are on the higher side. Yet, I can confidently say that the quality of the food justifies the cost. It's a place where you truly get what you pay for in terms of taste and quality. The only minor downside was that the space is a bit cramped. Even though our group was big (15 people) the staff managed to accommodate us comfortably, and we enjoyed our meal without feeling crowded.

Hands down our favourite restaurant in Ottawa. We’ve eaten at 3 Michelin star places, etc, and I’d rather come here every time. To describe it - just delicious well balanced food. Consistent, never disappoints. The menu changes often and there is usually a mix of various cuisines represented. Prices are always fair. Their rotation of 4 cocktails is consistently delicious, balanced. Great wine menu. The customer service is always fantastic. Highly recommend checking it out! Only potential feedback is chairs are a bit firm for large male to sit in for 2 hours. Super small detail but would make 5.5/5 stars
Justin G — Google review
Nice Casual atmosphere. Cocktails were great and fun, although a bit on the pricey side. We ordered the white fish appetizer which my girlfriend found delicious and I just thought it was missing a little something more. We ordered the trout main and the pot pie special. The pot pie was delicious, however we were disappointed with the trout, especially at that price point. The trout itself was good, and the pasta with chorizo was good, but it just didn’t work together. The pasta was too spicy and it took away from the fish. Extremely disappointed with that considering it’s also the most expensive thing on the menu. With all that said the service was fantastic. Couldn’t have had a better waitress.

Really adorable spot right off Britannia Beach. Super cozy and usually quite busy in the summer time and during weekends. Great coffee, nice sandwhiches and a really great team who go above and beyond to show kindness for their customers. Love the atmosphere and that they feature local art.

Britannia Coffeehouse is my go-to spot after a wild, windy walk by the lake. There’s nothing better than stepping into the cozy warmth, grabbing a rich coffee, and just unwinding. I’ve met friends here plenty of times—it’s that kind of place. The scones are always fresh, the coffee smooth, and the whole vibe just feels easy and welcoming. Whether we’re catching up, warming up, or just enjoying the quiet, it never disappoints. Locals love it for a reason. It’s got heart, great service, and that perfect mix of comfort and community. Definitely worth a stop!

Cozy coffeehouse just beside the beachconers. Great place to dine-in, relax, work and catchup with friends. Beautiful ambience with with Indore and ourdoor setting available. High chairs indoors facing outside, and large chair outdoor for more relaxed sitting. I usually take a walk to this coffee house for some a cup of cappuccino and some scones. You should try it; A cup of cappuccino here is about $5.25 (plus tax). Beautiful artwork done inside makes it great for pictures.

We stubbled upon this cute little bike style cafe shop on our ride yesterday and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The affogato was to die for!! My first time having affogato and I don’t think I can go any other way now! The ice cream made from scratch was exceptional, a must try forshure!

Nestled in an excellent location, Britannia Coffee House is a perfect stop whether you're hopping off the pathway or seeking a quiet retreat for your morning espresso. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, complemented by friendly staff who make every visit enjoyable. Their coffee is consistently good, and the scones are a delicious treat worth going out of your way for. A great spot for a peaceful break or a casual meet-up.

We came across this small but pleasant coffee shop by accident. However, it was a good find due to the quality of the coffee and food. The coffee is good, as is the food. We ordered 2 grilled sandwiches: they were simple but flavourful. The scones are yum, too. The outdoor seating allows you to see the world go by. Lots of cyclists, walkers, and joggers going to the park and the waterfront. They have a nice ice cream store connected to them. It's definitely worth a visit.

Ichiban Bakery, a family-owned establishment in Ottawa, has been delighting customers with its delectable breads, cakes, and pastries for the past 15 years. The bakery is known for its fantastic Japanese cheesecakes that are puffy and bouncy, available in various flavors including matcha and plain. Customers also rave about the soy sesame cake in a box.
The best croissants and chocolate croissants can be found at Ichiban. So flaky and delicious. Wonderful staff too. A great place to grab some things for the perfect Saturday breakfast. Tip: their croissants are always best the day-of, but their danishes are great the next day.
Kevin D — Google review
Small nice shop. On Sunday, the tables weren't cleared or cleaned, there was a kid just standing over there. Got the cream cheese bun, just ok, some rice pudding thing - didn't like that much. They have more french bakery items than Japanese items. Got coffee icecream, that was fine. Small place with 4 tables or so. Service is poor. Food sub par. Costly too for the fare offered.
Saravana P — Google review
Cozy shop. Smooth jazz. Got a regular cheese bun on a summer weekend evening with friends. Costed around $8-9. It was yummmm! Not too sweet and not heavy, left me craving for more.
Manoj G — Google review
Fantastic, puffy and bouncy Japanese cheesecakes, I can’t recommend them enough. I loved their matcha and plain flavors but they have a bunch of variety to try. Loved their soy sesame cake in a box too! I love that their desserts weren’t overly sweet and you can actually taste the flavors and the delicate fluff of the cake without being overpowered by the sweetness. They have a bunch of other bakery items that we didn’t get to try but based on the cheesecake, I assume they will be good too. They take debit or cash or p2p transfer so be prepared to figure it out if you don’t have those or are visiting from outside Canada. They will take credit through square but you gotta push them because they have the app installed but maybe don’t use that too frequently. Overall highly recommended for Japanese cheesecakes in Ottawa.

My favourite bakery in Ottawa for fruit cakes! Also their cream cheese buns are superior. Don’t be fooled by how they look because they taste absolutely amazing! The original flavour is my personal favourite.

Best little bakery! Scones are soft and fluffy! Friendly staff. Excellent place!
Diana W — Google review
I walked in because I saw a sign saying Japanese/French baked goods... I didn't see any Japanese baked goods there. So I bought a $10 shortcake. It wasn't that good. The lady serving me was not friendly, got impatient. Chinese staffed, Chinese style baked, goods (I'm Chinese, just found it misleading to go to a Japanese bakery to find no Japanese baked goods) I'm sure they have some good pastries there, but it's not Japanese. My experience wasn't enjoyable, the name is misleading, and I felt I paid more than what I got...

Bakery
True Loaf Bread Company is a bakery in downtown Ottawa that takes great pride in its fresh breads, dedicated to baking with only natural ingredients and creating amazing flavors for customers to enjoy.
Favorite bakery in town! The sourdough is amazing - miche and seed bread take the win for me. Their buns - especially the cocoa chili one is also delicious and pairs well with some nut butter. I also love the oat coconut cookie - nice balance between crispy and soft.
Shireen B — Google review
I always get their baguettes which are the best i have ever eaten. Crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle and the flavour of the dough completes the hat trick. Their coconut cookies are also amazing. Everything is delicious!
Carol G — Google review
Incredible quality sourdough bread, if you can get it. Their hours are limited, so I called multiple times before going (over an hour before close), but they do not answer. I biked all the way there to be told that every bread that I wanted was sold out. I ended up having to go to another business to purchase True Loaf bread at a marked up price due to them not having their own breads. And on top of that, the bread I was able to find was not the type I was looking to purchase either, but it is still very good. EDIT: I emailed in advance to reserve bread cor pick up and was able to get the types of bread I wanted. Everything is amazing quality as usual!
Chaz Z — Google review
The seed bread is my favourite. I make a special trip to the bakery every few weeks to pick it up. Freezes well. Wonderful, high quality breads and service … get there early : )
Phoebe W — Google review
For many years, True Loaf has been the best bakery in the city. Their original decadent bun was one of the best buns I’ve ever had. The original coco chilli bun was so good we would bring it as a gift to friends. Sadly the quality of all their breads has degraded substantially. Gone are the crispy exteriors with perfect chew, I don’t know what has changed but the products have all changed for the worse and they are quickly becoming just another bakery. The prices have also been increasing regularly, which would be fine if the quality wasn’t going in the other direction. My visit last week is probably my last.
Richard — Google review
When I was in my 2nd year of undergraduate studies, I would come here early in the morning for a baguette and have it as a breakfast before my first class once a week. I still like to drop by for bread and cookies and chocolate chip brioches. Wonderful place with delicious breads and great service. I wish they were open a little longer but I also get that its a bakery and they tend to have different hours. Overall, a lovely spot.

Very nice first impression of this place. I stopped in soon after the store opened at 8am and there were already quite a few people inside. I was looking to takeout a coffee; but after seeing the menu which had a lot of options I decided on a brown sugar cinnamon latte with oat milk and a vegetarian breakfast sandwich with vegan cheese. Both were delicious! I would definitely come out here again when in the area, there was a nice patio outside as well as many seats available inside.

Super cute coffee/breakfast spot in Stittsville. First time checking it out today, and the cookies were amazing. Coffee and hot chocolate was good too. There was a lot of people sitting on the porch outside so I didn't want to take too many pics of it, cause I felt like it's an invasive of their privacy, but they have some really nice picnic tables / patio furniture which is perfect for summer! Definitely consider this a hidden gem that you should check out!

Willys Pizza is amazing. The quality of the food is outstanding and the customer service is exceptional. Because we were too far for delivery we ordered on Uber and made a mistake on our order. Willys actually called us to let us know and super sized everything to make up for the price difference.

I wish I could give an outstanding review, but on several occasions, I’ve encountered green olive pits in my pizza, which is incredibly unpleasant—biting into one feels like you’re crushing your teeth. On two separate occasions, I’ve found large pieces of hair in my pizza, which is absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. As a loyal customer, I would expect more care to be put into the preparation and serving of the food, but sadly, that hasn’t been the case. While I’ve always loved Willies and never had an issue at the Stittsville location, the Merivale location has been a completely different experience.
Thomas W — Google review
Since last year I’ve heard of Willy’s pizza, I happened to come get my lashes done and Willy’s pizza was right next to it. I was starving so I say let me go in and get something light. I ordered the club sandwich with no fries. After 10min he said my order was ready. Looking at the box I’m thinking wow this must be a big sandwich 🥪 I opened it to my surprise to see a side of hot fries, gravy and a beautiful squared club sandwich. I was like aww 🥰 idk if it’s because I looked like I was starving 😂 but that was so thoughtful. I took a video to upload on social media but I could not find the Merivale location so I decided to write a review. Thank you so much! You now have a customer 🥰

Tgis was a great experience! We called a head of time because we had two extra large pizzas, one Hawaiian one simple pepperoni, and both tasted amazing! Extremely and very cheesy, kids absolutely loved it! We were all very impressed by the dough. It was very tasty! Although I loved the pizza itself and the service I had a massive laugh! Why? Because the way they cut it was hilarious! I've never seen a pizza cut this way and it made me laugh!

All the desserts came out so nice, everyone was raving about it at the party. Jamie-Lynn was so easy to communicate with and pricing was reasonable. I wanted decorated sugar cookies for my daughter's birthday and Batter Up Bakery didn't disappoint. I submitted a request online and got a prompt response. I shared my theme and ideas for the cookies - I didn't give a ton of direction since, as a baker myself, I know sometimes you have to give some artistic freedom - and Jamie-Lynn said it wouldn't be a problem. I confirmed pick-up time close to the date to make sure all was in order - no issues. Pick-up took no time at all and I had the pleasure of being surprised by the design. All the guests that tried the cookies said they were amazing and loved them. I would definitely go back for out next event.

I recently placed an order for decorated cookies for an engagement party. Batter Up Bakery had been recommended to me and they didn't disappoint. Dealing with Jamie-Lynn leading up to the party was seamless, she quickly responded to any inquiries I had by email and the price was very reasonable. Will definitely order again.

Although I had to follow up with a confirmed pick up time, everything else was phenomenal. When I picked up the cake I ordered ( very last minute) they were practically emptied out moving into a new location ( whoch is why i gave them a 4/5 rating. Im sure the new place will be amazing!). Congratulations in the next chapter of Batter Up Bakery!! Even through all the motions they've been going through I was still able to place a last minute order and it was exactly what I wanted! A stunning cake for my mother's 70th birthday not only beautiful but also very delicious. It was a major hit with all the adults and children! I got a salted caramel chocolate- salted caramel filling(which was a real caramel filling, and a chocolate flavored cake. Outstanding! I highly recommend Batter Up Bakery!

Batter Up Bakery was a dream to work with. Jamie-Lynn's communication was quick and clear. She responded promptly and was very direct with her pricing and availability, which was a massive breath of fresh air for us. The tasting was so much fun and so delicious, it was hard picking flavors for our cake! We chose chocolate and cookies and cream. The day of the wedding, the cake was delivered as previously agreed upon and on time. The cake itself was stunning, and she worked with our florist to add flowers as decor to the cake. We couldn't be happier with our experience with Batter Up Bakery and would recommend her to anyone.

My dad and I came in on the 24th of January to pick up some bakery items and snacks for a get-together we were hosting. We found everything easily, but I was most impressed by the customer service. I wish I had gotten their names, but the two employees helping us were so kind and helpful. It’s refreshing to see people who are passionate about their jobs and the service they provide. It’s hard to find nowadays. Great service, great atmosphere, and great food!

Was happy to find British packaged treats and foods, but many items were more expensive than at another shop in town. The baked goods were hit and miss: The bakewell and fern tarts and Scotch eggs were good, but I would give the pastys a miss and the sausage roll had too little filling. The employees behind the counter were kind. Beware of the surcharge for payment by credit card.

Visitors rave about the generous size of the cookies—about the size of your palm—and their incredible freshness even days after purchase.
Amazing cookies, we tried 6 different flavours and they were all great!! The portions are enormous (bigger than some other popular cookie brand), I recommend this bakery a lot! The picture is just what was left by the time I thought to take one, but so worth it!

Cookies are really good and big. Even after days of getting them the cookies were still soft and moist. It can be easily shared on how big the cookies are, approximately the size of my palm. Some of the flavours are really sweet tho, I am personally not a big fan of sweets so for me it was abit too much. It's better to go pick up some cookies way before closing because if not you won't have all the flavours left. We got 6 cookies for 24$.

Great service. We got there only 10-20 minutes after opening and plain chocolate chips cookies were already sold out! Our favourite was the smoker doodle and mini eggs.

Decent place. The cookie was very large and almost the size of my palm. I ordered the old fashioned chocolate chip cookie. It’s crunchy and a bit dry on the outside and soft inside. I expected it to be more sweet and also there were less chocolate chips. I have had better chocolate chip cookies. I am interested to try red velvet cookie if I am around this area.

WOW! I've been wanting to go to Chippers for months ever since I heard of it and it did not disappoint! Breaking those cookies in half literally made my week. The bakery is a cute lil space with room for just those massive cookies and a couple customers. I'd just like to say the value for money for these cookies is unbeatable! You are getting SO much cookie for only $3.50 each. They have walk in discounts for dozen and half dozen cookies too! When I picked up my box it sure was hefty and it was fun to share and try all the flavours. One cookie is more than enough to keep me satisfied and just keep in mind the cookies are quite sweet which is understandable since that's the tradeoff for that cakey, soft, gooey texture. I can't wait to be back to try more flavours and other desserts!
Nammi N — Google review
Simple little bakery, with a max of two customers aloud in at once and no seating. They had a wide variety of cookies and some brownies/ cakes. We got the toffee and red velvet cookies. They were $3.50 each and very big/thick. Aesthetically they both looked very delicious. Taste wise the toffee was very good and moist but also a little too sweet. The red velvet was good, but wished it could have been as moist as the toffee. Overall good experience and I will return to try some of the other flavours.

Forgot to take a picture before I chomped into a cookie lol. The lady there was really nice, unfortunately when I went they didn’t have any oatmeal raisin cookies or their brookies but no problem because the other cookies are still really tasty! My favourite out of the batch is the carrot & cream cheese one. The store is a bit small which isn’t an issue to me at all

Frys Guys is a popular spot known for its Korean-style fried chicken in various flavors like green onion, soy garlic, spicy, and cheese. They also offer unique sides such as garlic fries and cheesy corn, along with soju. The place is closed from November to March and operates on a cash-only basis with no delivery service. Customers praise the delicious homemade bacon cheeseburgers and poutine made with hand-pressed russet potatoes.
Superb quality, fresh and tasty. Fast and friendly service. Parking. Tables

Club sandwich and poutine are very good. I was very happy with my order.
TheAudio1 — Google review
Best and most reasonably priced poutine out there!
Adam B — Google review
Amazing place, great food and excellent prices. Fish and chips on Friday. Better to call ahead to make sure you get it. Hamburgers and Club Sandwiches are worth the trip to the truck. Shame that Frys Guys is closed from November to March. Interesting to see how they can get a 1 out of 5 rating, when they are closed for the winter season. Also, it is a cash based business and only has one staff (Owner). So there is no delivery.

Delicious hot dog and fries a sweet price of 10 bucks plus a drink. Definitely worth a visit. Lots of options. Super friendly owner. Stop by you won't be disappointed
Robert A — Google review
Best poutine in town, fries are hand pressed russet potatoes. Always served with a smile. Great prices. Each fryshack has a unique style and Fryz guyz has been our #1 go to fry shack for years now.

Amazing chip wagon! Best homemade bacon cheeseburgers I've ever had😃😃 and I consider myself a connoisseur lol. Poutine is delicious and filling. 2 layers of curds and tasty gravy. Price was right and service even better. My go to place from now on 👍👍

Nestled in a vibrant atmosphere, Bistro Ambrosia Ristorante is a delightful haven for lovers of Italian cuisine. This bustling eatery specializes in housemade pasta and other classic dishes that transport your taste buds straight to Italy. While the ambiance can get lively, which may lead to slightly slower service at times, patrons agree that the exceptional food makes any wait worthwhile.
Reasonably priced fine dining restaurant with great food and atmosphere.

Love love love this place! The food is always amazing. The place can be tad busy at time so don't expect to chat with waiters and the service can be little slow on the side so i would advice people to expect a bit of a wait...but for that food...it s well worth it!
Alexandre V — Google review
My wife and I went to the restaurant this Friday, we were heasetant to go knowing that the last time we went the service was very slow. This time we were lucky and was seated immediately at the bar. We placed an order for a bottle of wine, two entrees and one main course. The entrees and the wine came within 10 minutes but after 30 minutes later we asked the waiter what was happening with the main course and he brings out the wrong table order, we then wait some more time and finally my wife goes to see the waiter to tell them that it is too late we are no longer hungry and would like the bill. The waiter brings the bill and did not include the main course. At this point the owner of the restaurant comes to our table upset and says I do not know what happened with your plate, and I simply put the money on the table and informed him that I just wanted to pay and leave. For some sort of reason he seemed to think that I threw him the money (my wife as a witness confirms that it was not the case) he steps back tells to go outside and will fight it out. He instead several times and this in a full reastaurant in front of other guest. Wow good service. By the way we were in front of the kitchen door and saw more than 10 clients go in and out of the kitchen. Finally left the restaurant called the police and put charges against him.

Good desserts, coffee and friendly staff.

Friendly service & nouveau decor. A little pricey. To be honest, Nestlé should stick to what they know best; chocolate, not coffee.

With an array of intriguing flavors to choose from, you can find them at various farmer's markets throughout the area. While enjoying these delicious and fresh pastries, you'll appreciate their unique recipes that keep things interesting.
My favorite scones in the city - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, great flavors. I get them at every farmer's market!
L M — Google review
Tried the scones at Carp Market. I bought 3 Strawberry Rhubarb. They were hard on the outside, crunchy. Next to no taste of strawberry or rhubarb, terrible taste. They charged 4.00 each! Was a waste of our money
Kim K — Google review
Not very fresh or tasty. I tried the white chocolate and raspberry scone at the Westboro farmer's market and was disappointed because there was no chocolate and just a single piece of raspberry. Perhaps I just got one from a bad batch.

Nestled in the vibrant Byward Market, the Bubble Tea Shop is a delightful gem that offers an array of scrumptious scones. As someone with British roots, I can assure you that these treats are truly exceptional and not to be taken lightly! Whether you're a local or just passing through, indulging in their freshly baked scones is an experience you won't want to miss.
Worst bubble tea I have ever had. I don’t think the server was trained on how to make it. Probably my fault for ordering bubble tea in February though. Maybe they will improve.

The selection is quite small and not tasty enough to justify the high price and very long wait. I probably will not be going back.
