Three Tarts is a charming bakeshop located in downtown Ottawa, serving customers since 1996. The bakery prides itself on its traditional methods, handcrafting everything from scratch. Their menu features a variety of delectable treats such as holiday cookies, squares, pies, and cakes. With options like white chocolate cranberry and toasted pistachio tart or apple blueberry pecan crisp crumble pie, there's something for every palate.
Every bite tastes like it was crafted with care and top-quality ingredients. The tarts are perfectly balanced—flaky, buttery crusts with just the right amount of sweetness in the fillings. If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out.

I couldn’t recommend this place more. They spent time on the phone with me describing their desserts and delivery process. They wrote a hand written note and added customisation on top of the cake. It was beautifully gift wrapped too. When they weren’t going to have something in time they promptly notified me and added something else instead without an extra charge. So delicious and pretty! The delivery came at night the next day.
Jenna W — Google review
I would highly recommend purchasing your baked goods from Three Tarts! I'm not from Ottawa, but I wanted to send some surprise goodies to a family member on an important day. Emily was super responsive and helped coordinate a seamless delivery, going out of her way to help me out. On top of that, the Aidan's cake and the Savoury Tart were delicious per my family!
Chloe P — Google review
Great selection of tarts and cakes. Tried the classic cheesecake and French chocolate mousse (this one was a little too sweet for my taste, but still delicious). My go-to when craving something decadent and rich!
Sher Y — Google review
Great Place for Pies & Cookies. However the last apple pecan crisp crumble pie I ordered was a bit too sweet. Last Order: Apple Pecan Crisp Crumble Pie & Chocolate Almond fudge cake.

When in Ottawa visiting, 3 tarts is an iconic destination to buy incredible desserts. Dinner invitations will continue by bringing their pies and cakes.
N K — Google review
Three Tarts is a lovely bakery that offers a selection of wonderful, beautiful, delicious desserts. The carrot cake is delightful and moist. The lemon meringue tart is delicious, tart and light while the lemon cheese cake steals the show. Thus far, we have sampled many of their selections and have been satisfied every single time. We highly recommend.
Marie-Eve G — Google review
One of my absolute favourite Ottawa stores to get treats. You can tell that they use quality ingredients and everything tastes fresh and homemade. Have tried most of their desserts by now and would highly recommend the lemon cheesecake, lemon/milk tarts, blueberry sour cream tart, high jinx cookies, sticky buns and their dream bars. But honestly everything is so good you can’t go wrong!

Bakery
Strawberry Blonde Bakery is a delightful haven for those with food allergies and alternative diets, offering an impressive array of indulgent treats that are both vegan and free from gluten, eggs, dairy, and nuts. With multiple locations to choose from, this quirky bakery has mastered the art of creating delicious baked goods without compromising on flavor or safety.
The Cold brew was sadly unavailable when I arrived, however, they were quite pleasant about making a substitution. Their service was prompt and friendly and I would expect a good experience if I ordered their products. I ended up ordering their special "Orange Truffle Mocha." It was good. My companion enjoyed their standard coffee.
Janessa M — Google review
I was so happy to find a fully vegan bakery in Ottawa, I never would've guessed that it was gluten free :) and kosher and nut free. I stopped here for brunch and got a cinnamon roll, a banana chocolate muffin and a berry iced tea slushie. All DELICIOUS!
Hippy H — Google review
I got a slice of the coffee cake at $1.84 only as it was on the 50% off tray. For being gluten free, it was a great pastry at a great price. However, the cake was very dry and not very fluffy. I would’ve been fooled in thinking it was a regular cake if not for the dryness. Or maybe it was just because it was not fresh from the day.
Chloé V — Google review
We had our wedding cake and cookies done by strawberry blonde and they were amazing! We got lots of compliments and our guest really enjoyed. I couldn’t ask for better!! Love Steven and Isabelle
Isabelle D — Google review
We had Strawberry Blonde make our wedding cake & cupcakes and they were beautiful and delicious! The groom has a nut allergy and a few guests have celiac disease or are vegan so it was the perfect way to ensure everyone felt safe and could enjoy a treat without worry! We aren’t huge dessert people, but the cupcakes especially were a huge hit. I think people thought the cake was too beautiful to eat - so we enjoyed some after the fact and have frozen some to enjoy on anniversaries to come :)

I visited to purchase an allergy free dessert for my niece. I visited on a Friday afternoon-the person at the counter simply said they didn't have what I was looking for-no further discussion/options offered. I had seen their cakes at another store, and was able to find the item I had requested at that location. My niece and her friend didn't care for the cake, saying it was dense and they didn't like the taste. They only had a bite each before it was discarded.
Juniper J — Google review
Nice and cozy bakery on Richmond Road. The staff was welcoming and ready to assist during my visit. I had questions and the staff member went the extra mile to look for the answer to provide me with tailored answers. The place looked well lit due to the large windows, the very high ceiling and the spacious venue. An option to sit in is available. Some cakes are available for immediate purchase and they offer a selection of cold and hot drinks. The prices are okay, not cheap and there’s also a selection of breads. Parking is on the street and is not free. Overall nice location and nice service.
Henri S — Google review
I usually love this bakery—the desserts are always delicious and beautifully made. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was disappointing due to the service. The staff member who helped us was cold and impatient, which made me feel unwelcome, as though I was bothering them simply by asking a question. Since the cupcake flavours weren’t displayed, I asked what they were, but the worker rolled their eyes, sighed, and rushed through the list. I ended up just taking the first one they mentioned because it was clear my question was an inconvenience. I hope this was just an off day.

Batter Up Bakery began as a small venture in 2011, but it truly took off in 2018, establishing itself as a formidable player in Ottawa's baking scene. This charming bakery specializes in creating customized treats that cater to your every whim—be it cakes, cookies, or even bespoke cookie cutters! The beauty of Batter Up lies in its ability to let you design your own cake; whether you want intricate decorations or a blank canvas for creativity at events, they have you covered.
The cake we ordered was absolutely amazing!!! Everyone was blown away at the detail attention. And the flavour was superb 👌 We couldn't have asked for better service and the cake wasstop notch. I'm still get requests for the name of the bakery a month later.

We bought our wedding cake from Batter Up Bakery. A two-tiered cake of lemon and chocolate with simple white buttercream frosting. It was exactly what we wanted: elegant, beautiful, and delicious! Jamie-Lynn was great to work with throughout and hand-delivered it to our wedding venue the day of. We, and our guests, loved it!
Jeremy K — Google review
We hired batterup bakery to do our son’s first birthday party. Cake and dessert table. It was a circus themed party, and boy did she deliver! The cake was stunning! And delicious! All the desserts came out so nice, everyone was raving about it at the party. Jamie-Lynn was so easy to communicate with and pricing was reasonable. I emailed over a few inspiration photos and she did her magic. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. Thank you for making my little guy’s birthday special!
Adoumi F — Google review
Everytime I order cookies from batter up I am blown away. We ordered cookies for my daughter’s 6th birthday and they were stunning. The new storefront is lovely and the coffee was really good! Will be coming back with the kiddos to spend more time!
Gabrielle C — Google review
I wanted decorated sugar cookies for my daughter's birthday and Batter Up Bakery didn't disappoint. I submitted a request online and got a prompt response. I shared my theme and ideas for the cookies - I didn't give a ton of direction since, as a baker myself, I know sometimes you have to give some artistic freedom - and Jamie-Lynn said it wouldn't be a problem. I confirmed pick-up time close to the date to make sure all was in order - no issues. Pick-up took no time at all and I had the pleasure of being surprised by the design. All the guests that tried the cookies said they were amazing and loved them. I would definitely go back for out next event.
Heloise B — Google review
I recently placed an order for decorated cookies for an engagement party. Batter Up Bakery had been recommended to me and they didn't disappoint. The cookies were absolutely spectacular, everyone at the party was blown away. Dealing with Jamie-Lynn leading up to the party was seamless, she quickly responded to any inquiries I had by email and the price was very reasonable. Will definitely order again.
Jane P — Google review
Although I had to follow up with a confirmed pick up time, everything else was phenomenal. When I picked up the cake I ordered ( very last minute) they were practically emptied out moving into a new location ( whoch is why i gave them a 4/5 rating. Im sure the new place will be amazing!). Congratulations in the next chapter of Batter Up Bakery!! Even through all the motions they've been going through I was still able to place a last minute order and it was exactly what I wanted! A stunning cake for my mother's 70th birthday not only beautiful but also very delicious. It was a major hit with all the adults and children! I got a salted caramel chocolate- salted caramel filling(which was a real caramel filling, and a chocolate flavored cake. Outstanding! I highly recommend Batter Up Bakery!
Rosamaria U — Google review
Batter Up Bakery was a dream to work with. Jamie-Lynn's communication was quick and clear. She responded promptly and was very direct with her pricing and availability, which was a massive breath of fresh air for us. The tasting was so much fun and so delicious, it was hard picking flavors for our cake! We chose chocolate and cookies and cream. The day of the wedding, the cake was delivered as previously agreed upon and on time. The cake itself was stunning, and she worked with our florist to add flowers as decor to the cake. We couldn't be happier with our experience with Batter Up Bakery and would recommend her to anyone.

Take Another Bite is a well-established catering service in Ottawa, offering a variety of delicious home-cooked options that can be easily prepared at home. They provide an array of choices including vegetarian platters, beef bourguignon, hot and cold appetizers, and more. With two locations in Manotick and Nepean, they also offer baked goods and savory pies such as steak mushroom pie and chicken pot pie. Additionally, Take Another Bite provides baking classes for those interested in learning their techniques.
A very cute and cozy cafe, with excellent coffee and desserts. Their scones are amazing, and cinnamon rolls are heavenly. I was also impressed by how friendly, helpful, and polite staff were.

Cute little place, excellent coffee. I had a very yummy lemon tart with berries and it was delicious. Triple chocolate brownie was delicious as well. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of treats.

I love Manotick, it always has some gems to offer and “Take another bite” is definitely one of those. If enjoy a clean place to sit and enjoy your tea, while reading a book or talking to a dear one, if you enjoy delicious goodies, please try this place. This once house turned into a store will be very welcoming. It still has the home atmosphere and foods.
Amir A — Google review
Ordered these cupcakes, first off there was mold on all the raspberries on the 3 cupcakes that had raspberries on them, the cupcakes were extremely dry and I ate them on the day I ordered them, very flavourless as well, and the icing also very flavourless, for 45 dollars for 12 cupcakes I expected slightly better quality I’ve had better cupcakes from the grocery store taste better then these. I’ve included photo of the mold!
Jessica D — Google review
The decor is mediocre and cold, especially if one is looking to sit and enjoy a hot drink with their partner, I wouldn't recommend it. However the cappuccino was a great blend and the cheese cake cherry dessert was delicious! The quiche was okay. I want to try other favourites they have. I must also mention that I appreciated the efficient service.
Rose G — Google review
We were driving through Manotick and decided to stop here. Super cute little place, bought a few baked goods but our favourite was the crack cookie and the fresh cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon rolls were soft without feeling too chewy like undercooked and not dry at all. Will definitely be back! They have lots of goodies and gluten free dessert options too.
Brenna B — Google review
I have not eaten in person but have bought numerous cakes and deserts. The cakes as they are 3 layers are not spongy soft as they need structure but omg they are delicious. I buy these cakes exclusively to bring to events and the single serve deserts like cookies, brownies, tarts are devine. This is my go to for any occasion that I want to impress. I have bought both customized and off the shelf, never disappointed. My staff at work are always looking for a reason for me to bring cake to a staff meeting. My sister had a Beetlejuice themed wedding on Halloween and they made a very cute custom/standard cake for me, it was fantastic. You will regret not eating cake from Take Another Bite. See you soon!

Good selection of treats and food. The bakery items we got were well made and delicious. The inside was small and nice. Places to sit as well which is nice. Great spot to visit when in Manotick * note that there is a HUGE pothole at the entrance of the parking lot

Bread & Sons is a cozy bakery and cafe that offers a variety of sweet and savory items, including deli sandwiches and pizza. The bakery is known for its impeccable pastries, such as the hazelnut espresso cream-filled croissant. In addition to their pastries, they also serve delicious sandwiches and pizzas during lunchtime. Their focaccia and pizza crust are particularly noteworthy, as they are a testament to their mastery of dough.
One of those 'I want to try everything because everything looks great' spots that actually lives up to how good the food looks. I spent a good 5 minutes trying to find this place as there's no signs outside, but boy am I happy I found it. Pizza with the roasted garlic and onion is sublime. Both cookies are to die for, and the FETA thing (not pictured) was my favorite of the bunch. Loved everything there.
Tarek E — Google review
I went to try Bread and Sons for lunch today for the first time. I wanted to try it based on all the great reviews. I ordered the gouda sandwich which was supposed to be "life changing". The gouda wasn't melted at all after asking for it to be grilled and there was no arugula on it which was detailed in the description. Instead they used romaine lettuce. Kinda disappointed. The many capers mixed with olive compote is quite overpowering and the focaccia bread is so hard! No idea why this sandwich gets such a great review. I found it expensive at $10.62 plus tax. I tried the butter croissant as well to see if it was as good as people say. It was very nice to be fair. 👍🏼 Edit: just to say thanks a lot to the owner for the refund. I will go in hopefully soon to try something else. I truly appreciate the contact from the owner and the effort to fix the issues. I have upped the service to a 5 star as client service is really good :). update will follow Add: I did go back and got the breakfast sandwich and the feta boreka. The boreka was super crunchy and the sesame crusted top was delicious. It was a bit salty, but that's because it's filled with feta cheese. Really nice! The breakfast croissant is unbelievable. I want to get this again actually. Two poached eggs on a croissant with cheese and warmed up. Mmmmm. The eggs were still a bit soft which was really nice. The cheese was lovely as well. Really had a European feel to it. Yum! I want to try all the croissants now. 😋

Gouda sandwich , 2 slices of pizza and chocolate macadamia cookies. The pizza was ok. The sandwich was amazing. The cookies also tasty. An expensive place but good for treating yourself. Definitely the sandwiches are their best in my opinion. Will go back.

Cute spot for sandwiches and bakery items! Came here with my family on a Sunday morning to have a simple breakfast + coffee + treats. We ordered a grilled cheese, breakfast croissants, scones, an apple well, and a muffin. The sandwiches were more than satisfactory, the scones were to die for, and the desserts were okay. Overall I’m quite pleased with the food. The service was friendly, the place was clean, and the vibe was great. Definitely coming back.

Lovely coffee shop and bakery with friendly staff, alternative milks, good coffee selection and great pastries. Warm, welcoming, cosy and unpretentious inside. Seats at the window were a good place to just watch the world go by. Coffee was really good (and I had decaf which isn't always a great choice at coffee shops).

Chippers Bakery is a delightful haven for cookie lovers, where each specialty cookie is crafted from scratch and baked to perfection. With a chewy center and crispy exterior, these cookies are made fresh daily, ensuring that every bite is a treat. The charming little bakery offers an array of flavors that cater to all tastes, making it hard not to find one you adore! Visitors rave about the generous size of the cookies—about the size of your palm—and their incredible freshness even days after purchase.
Amazing cookies, we tried 6 different flavours and they were all great!! The portions are enormous (bigger than some other popular cookie brand), I recommend this bakery a lot! The picture is just what was left by the time I thought to take one, but so worth it!
Marianne G — Google review
Cookies are really good and big. Even after days of getting them the cookies were still soft and moist. It can be easily shared on how big the cookies are, approximately the size of my palm. Some of the flavours are really sweet tho, I am personally not a big fan of sweets so for me it was abit too much. It's better to go pick up some cookies way before closing because if not you won't have all the flavours left. We got 6 cookies for 24$.
Tamar T — Google review
Great service. We got there only 10-20 minutes after opening and plain chocolate chips cookies were already sold out! Our favourite was the smoker doodle and mini eggs.

Decent place. The cookie was very large and almost the size of my palm. I ordered the old fashioned chocolate chip cookie. It’s crunchy and a bit dry on the outside and soft inside. I expected it to be more sweet and also there were less chocolate chips. I have had better chocolate chip cookies. I am interested to try red velvet cookie if I am around this area.

Half a dozen and it was the heaviest half dozen I’ve ever felt! Options were amazing and they were not too sweet! Definitely will be coming back

WOW! I've been wanting to go to Chippers for months ever since I heard of it and it did not disappoint! Breaking those cookies in half literally made my week. The bakery is a cute lil space with room for just those massive cookies and a couple customers. I'd just like to say the value for money for these cookies is unbeatable! You are getting SO much cookie for only $3.50 each. They have walk in discounts for dozen and half dozen cookies too! When I picked up my box it sure was hefty and it was fun to share and try all the flavours. One cookie is more than enough to keep me satisfied and just keep in mind the cookies are quite sweet which is understandable since that's the tradeoff for that cakey, soft, gooey texture. I can't wait to be back to try more flavours and other desserts!
Nammi N — Google review
Simple little bakery, with a max of two customers aloud in at once and no seating. They had a wide variety of cookies and some brownies/ cakes. We got the toffee and red velvet cookies. They were $3.50 each and very big/thick. Aesthetically they both looked very delicious. Taste wise the toffee was very good and moist but also a little too sweet. The red velvet was good, but wished it could have been as moist as the toffee. Overall good experience and I will return to try some of the other flavours.

Forgot to take a picture before I chomped into a cookie lol. The lady there was really nice, unfortunately when I went they didn’t have any oatmeal raisin cookies or their brookies but no problem because the other cookies are still really tasty! My favourite out of the batch is the carrot & cream cheese one. The store is a bit small which isn’t an issue to me at all

Le Moulin de Provence KD METCALFE & QUEEN is a modern cafe and eatery located in Ottawa, Ontario. The spacious dining area offers a wide variety of French-style baked goods, sandwiches, and desserts. Visitors can enjoy high tea service and indulge in decadent treats like lavender white hot chocolate, candy cane hot chocolate, and cookie dough latte. While the cafe excels in its tea offerings, some patrons have found the coffee to be lacking at times.
On Sunday, it was the perfect place for me to enjoy my coffee with delicious chocolate cookies and get some work done on my laptop. All the staff were respectful and kind. 100% recommended!

I really enjoyed the croissants and pastries — I think they’re some of the best in Ottawa. However, the interior could use a bit of an update. For example, the wobbly table by the window near the couch needs fixing, and the carpet at the entrance seems to be over 20 years old — it would be nice to replace it. It would also be great if the place was cleaned more often: remove trash and vacuum regularly. Dear owners, if you don’t have the time to take care of this, I’d be happy to help — just invite me!
Natalie — Google review
Stopped in for a cappuccino and a tea and both hit the spot. The tea is a loose leaf so not a crummy regular tea bag. There were lots of pasteries and sandwiches to choose from, staff were friendly and the service was great. Lots of space to sit down and even a quiet zone to study away from the main seating area.
Team T — Google review
We went here as we saw that they had a lot of food selection. We chose the breakfast croissant that comes with a free brewed coffee. Their croissants are huge by the way, what you can see on the photo is a croissant cut in half. Croissant was airy and flaky, not dense at all. I ordered a pistachio iced latte, it wasn't bad but there was just an after taste that I couldn't really tell what it was from. Definitely deserves another visit so we can try more!

employees were lovely. Service was lovely. food And drink though miss the mark a little bit for me. Got a latte it was kind of watery and didn’t taste like my flavour shots. I added. Got a chocolate croissant and it didn’t have very much chocolate in it besides being a really big pastry. otherwise great atmosphere though. Would definitely give it another shot to try something else.

An instant favorite spot in town. We visited on a hot summer day, their homemade lemonade was a very welcome surprise. We had the mix berries and mint lemonade 👌 The custard napoleon was so delicious.

I ordered this cake (I forgot its name) and it was absolutely delicious! All their cakes were fresh and tasty. The café has a clean, cozy atmosphere that gives such a nice vibe. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Really recommend it for everyone who is in Ottawa.
Nasi M — Google review
The cake was delicious but expensive. I paid $16 for a piece of cake and one cookie. But more importantly, the cafe was filthy, as it was when I went 8 years ago. I decided to try again this past weekend and will not return. There should be a food inspection of this place; tables were dirty and dirty dishes were piled up in boxes. While the service was fine, management needs to be much better.

The takeout restaurant Thyme & Again offers fresh, homemade meals for those celebrating Mothers day or any other special occasion. There are plenty of options to choose from, including a brunch box that includes skillet sausages, scones with rose honey, a vegetable frittata, sweet potato hash browns and fruit salad. Thyme & Again has maintained quality over the years. Have to say this time around, the Easter cake stole show – it actually tasted like a Cadbury chocolate. The breakfast sandwiches were on point as usual. The lattes lacked depth and flavour, but were fine.

We served Thyme and Again pies at our casual wedding, alongside some homemade salads, and they were a huge hit! Bakery
The Cake Shop is a nut-free bakery located on Wellington Street West that offers a wide variety of custom-made cakes, cupcakes, cookies, muffins, cinnamon buns, donuts and pies. They cater to various dietary restrictions with options such as vegan, gluten-free and sugar-free treats. Their wedding cakes are beautifully crafted and completely nut-free. Customers praise the decorative and stylish designs of their custom and ready-made cakes which include trendy options like emoji cakes.
Service was wonderful. Very clear, direct and efficient communication via email, on the phone and in-person. Responds within the same day or next few business days. Very willing to discuss details (pricing, flavours, designs, etc.) in-depth to make sure I got the custom cake I was looking for. Miraculously, they had already done my cake style before, which made things even more efficient. Also very kind, patient and understanding staff. I had many questions but they wouldn't hesitate to answer or clarify. The cake itself was heavenly. Designs were exactly as I wanted them. Although they've done my cake style before, I asked for minor adjustments and they followed through flawlessly. The flavours and textures were perfect and just as I asked. Cake was silky-smooth, soft, fruity and overall pretty rich. Only thing I can pick at was that the pearl sprinkles were a little tough to bite, but I think it was because the cake was refrigerated. The cake was important as the joke on it was for a milestone birthday, and they totally delivered. Price is fair for the degree of detail I asked for and the flavour profile. The cake had many designs, colours and decoration on it. I asked for lemon cake, vanilla frosting, and strawberry filling. A lot of what I asked for was extra. My cake was $245 and served about 8 people plus a lot of cake leftover--so about $30 per serving. I think it's a fair price especially for a special occasion custom cake, so I was already expecting to pay slightly more. Completely exceeded my expectations. Knowing how reliable this shop is, I'll likely come back for more custom cakes in the future.
Althea M — Google review
Lovely place to buy cakes, cookies, cupcakes and more. This is my second stunning cake from here and it was the perfect amount of sweetness from the most beautiful icing flowers. The three layers of different flavoured cakes were delish. I had flower cookies last year that were the best I've ever tasted so was excited to buy more. The 1 less star is because of the cookies which were a disappointment this time. Pretty, but too hard to eat.

If you're looking for an unforgettable cake experience, The Cake Shop is where you need to go. Julie and the owner go above and beyond to make sure every detail is perfect. Their level of customer service is simply unmatched—truly perfectionist in every sense. From the moment you walk in, you’re treated like family, and they take the time to listen to exactly what you want, offering expert advice and suggestions along the way. Whether you're ordering for a special event or just treating yourself, you can count on them to deliver not only on taste but also on presentation. Every cake is a work of art, and it's clear that Julie and everyone working pour their heart and soul into each creation. They are genuinely passionate about what they do, and it shows in every bite. In short, if you want top-tier customer service, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and cakes that taste as good as they look, The Cake Shop is the place to be. Julie and the owner are simply amazing, and I’ll definitely be back for all my future cake needs! Highly recommended!

We have been getting our cakes from here for a while. It’s nut free which helps for family with not allergies. And they make gluten free cupcakes when you order in advance, which taste great! They are as moist as a regular cupcake, they are not crumbly or dry. We recently got cakes and GF cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday, they did the design exactly as my daughter wanted, and they tasted great! Good balance between the icing and cake so it’s not too sweet. Cake 1: 6inch, chocolate with vanilla cream, and light chocolate icing, with wavy sprinkles on side, with balloons and mini ice cream decoration Cake 2: 6inch, vanilla with raspberry cream, and vanilla icing with sprinkles all along the side, with Peppa pig image GF cupcakes with Peppa pig decorations

I like their cakes. Their cakes are the best. I love them. If you nice cakes, visit this place. There is one dislike I have for this place, there is one lady who works there and her customer service to me is not very nice at all. I have visited twice and it happened both times with the same person. The other lady was so nice, very willing to help, I loved her customer service. The other one, I am not sure if she is the boss somehow but her attitude is not nice. It feels like you are wasting her time, she doesn't want to be bothered, even when I was talking to the nicer one, she would interrupt and takeover like I am wasting their time I must just read what the prices are. I told her they are a bit confusing for me and she kept saying, they are very clear, its easy to understand. I like their cakes but I think twice before I go there because of the customer service from one of the ladies there. The first time it happened, I ignored it and didn't bother writing a review. But now it happened again, I thought let me write something. My heart sank when I got in the second time and saw her there again. I think there is need for improvement on your customer service. Treat customers with respect, and patience. What you think is clear labels might not be clear to everyone, explain with politeness not rude or anger.

Life of Pie is a charming, family-owned bakery that takes pride in offering a variety of hand-made sweet and savory pies, bread, and cakes made with locally sourced ingredients. Their freshly baked pies are known to sell out quickly, but they also offer frozen options for those who want to bake at home. In addition to their delicious pies, they are also famous for their build-your-own grilled cheese sandwiches.
Came here for a bit of a snack after work. I ended up buying way too many things because everything looked phenomenal. Their glazed sour dough doughnut is easily the best donut I’ve ever had! I was surprised to see that they have homemade pop tarts on their menu, I HAD to try this since I love pop tarts! While this item isn’t anything out of this world, it was still very good and it definitely scratched the itch! Very nice dining room with beautiful oak tables (I think it’s oak, idk wood). The coffee is average, but this place doesn’t seem to be about coffee. You come here for pastries! Very much recommend, service was fine, atmosphere is nice although the loud fridge buzzing at the entrance keeps me from writing 5 stars! I’ll definitely be back! Fantastic job to everyone who works here!

The service is great, the employees are super nice and chill, and the cookies were really good, but if I'm paying $35 for a pie it shouldn't taste like someone dumped unseasoned frozen ground meat into a pie shell. Come for the small baked goods and the chill seating area!! But DON'T buy any of the savory pies, they're way overpriced.
Niko G — Google review
2025-10-02-Stopped in for a break this morning & tried the Very Berry Scone. It was fresh, not too sweet and quite tasty. I like scones made with minimal sugar, or savory, that are not dry. I was told the coffee is good here, may try that the next time.

Google said they still served breakfast but sadly no. And Easter weekend was too busy with selling pies to make a breakfast sandwich (only fare left from breakfast menu). Our group had scones instead.

I called ahead to ask if they could make a traditional key lime pie for my husbands birthday dinner. Paid $26 for cheap crisco pie crust and a filing that was 90% whip cream and 10% I have no idea - didn’t taste at all like what I asked for. I would have been better off buying a homemade pie for $13 from the Parkdale market - the pies at the big busy veggie stand are unreal. My advice to the team here is just say no if you can’t make a custom pie when people call in. Traditional key lime pie has a graham cracker crust and tastes like lime, for the record.

We ordered our cupcakes and cutting cake from The Cupcake Lounge for our wedding on June 26th and they were a huge hit! We had lemon, apple, chocolate, and vanilla cupcakes, and every single flavour was delicious. There was lots of variety for our guests to choose from and the icing colours matched our decor perfectly. They looked beautiful and tasted even better. We noticed how quickly our guests were grabbing them throughout the night and how everyone hoped they could take some home at the end. The whole experience was easy. Laura and the rest of the team we interacted with was professional, friendly, and communicated everything clearly. Pickup and timing were smooth and stress free. The price was very reasonable for the quality and presentation. We were so impressed every step of the way! We will definitely be stopping by The Cupcake Lounge for sweet treats again and again. All my wife wanted for her birthday was a lemon cheesecake. I called the Cupcake Lounge and inquired if they were able to accommodate. They quickly took my order, on Friday afternoon for a Sunday pickup. This cheesecake was hands down the very BEST cheesecake we have ever had. The lemon curd on top was next level, the cheesecake was fluffy and just the right sweetness and the crust - I don’t even have words to describe how incredibly delicious it was. The presentation was absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for making my wife’s birthday complete with this perfect dessert.

We had Cupcake Lounge provide the wedding cake and cupcakes for our recent wedding and couldn't be happier with the process, execution and quality of the product. The tasting was fun and informative, and Laura was super kind, helpful and organized. She and her team did a fantastic job bringing our vision to life, accomodating all our special requests and delivering a delicious experience to us and all our guests. They rocked the aviation design we were looking for, and were even able to create cute custom toppers. We wouldn't have done anything different and would definitely recommend Cupcake Lounge to anyone looking for a unique wedding cake/treat option.

Atmosphere is great, there’s lots of available seating, it’s very cozy and smells absolutely phenomenal. I came here to get a coffee and check out the place but was surprised to see gluten free options available, so I had to give them a shot, and they were pretty solid! Although it wasn’t among the best coffees I’ve had, the atmosphere and service are next level.

First of all, the cupcakes are a lot smaller than I expected for $5 each, but oh well. As others here have said, they were rather dry, which was surprising given that I picked them up in the morning. They kind of crumbled when my mom (who was celebrating her 90th birthday) tried to eat them with a fork. I got a 4 pack, which comes in this box that basically makes it impossible to get the cupcakes out without either destroying them or getting icing all over your fingers. Anyways, seems like a nice place and friendly people, but I don't think I'll go back.

Anytime I emailed her she was fast to respond & had no problem making a few changes. She also coordinated the fresh flowers that are on top of the cake (initial topper purchased elsewhere). There was also a delivery option for a very reasonable price. The cake was not only beautiful, but delicious. I highly recommend getting your wedding cake from here.

Both family style and brunch servings are available in two sizes.

My family ordered the Easter ham dinner, first time purchasing food from here. The dinner was scalloped potatoes, mixture of vegetables, and ham. We also added on the Chocolate Ganache Cake. Here is the good, not so good, and the really good. The scalloped potatoes were very tasty, and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. They were a mixture of carrots, parsnip, asparagus and snow peas. We all thought both dishes were great. The ham, however, was not that good. It was basically a processed ham cut up in slices, nothing special. Some of the pieces had gristle, very unpleasant to eat. Now the really good was the cake. Absolutely amazing!! The cake was fresh and the chocolate ganache was decedent. Wouldn’t order the ham dinner again, but might go back for the cake.

Edit: I'm a big fan of the less sweet muffins they've introduced!! I do wish they'd switch to PFAS free packaging for their entrees. PP would be a huge improvement and recyclable. I love the assorted muffins, the fresh donut is to die for, salads especially carrot, soups and wraps. The ginger chocolate chip shortbread at the holidays are an essential. My only BEEF, is the heavy meat/seafood focus to their entrees and the vegetarian ones are often pasta or parsnip. More vegetarian options would be great for me and the planet! ok... and I wish the dominant flavour of the soup wasn't SALT, could be 1/4 of what's used.

Cute cafe hidden in the corner, beside The Works. Great place to quickly pop in and out after yoga or for lunch. Although, I don't recall a seating area. I grabbed a few macarons and an Asian pork sandwich. Quality ingredients and great combination of flavours. They had a good variety available - salads, sandwiches, baked goods. I'd recommend to anyone who is looking for a quick meal or snack.

I always stop by when I'm in the area to check out which characters are on the cookies this time. Their special candy bar cookies are excellent. Chocolate croissants are a fav too. There is usually some kind of deal like buy 6 get one free. Cash and debit only.
Sarah F — Google review
The most adorably-decorated sugar cookies, and great-tasting, too! They have a wide variety of cookies (chocolate bar-themed, jam-filled and more traditional ones) and also offer savoury pastries and breads. The staff is super great and they even offer a buy-6-get-one-free deal on their cookies and croissants. A bit higher-priced, so not an everyday indulgence, but well worth it for a special occasion or on a day you want to treat yourself!
Lia W — Google review
Amazing sugar cookies; tastes great and has a variety of cute designs. Their breads are also very reasonably priced and delicious. Their other cookies are quite good, however they are nothing you couldn't get at another bakery and a bit more expensive.
Beck B — Google review
One of my absolute FAVOURITE places in Ottawa. I always buy box of cookies and bring home with me every time I visit. My favourite is the s‘ more cookie and any of their sugar cookies are amazing! It’s definitely a must-try. I will update with a photo next time because I already finished all my cookies!
Debbie L — Google review
Tiny hole-in-the-way bakery with a nice selection of fresh goods. I did not find the cornbread I had hoped for (to be fair, a bit of a specialty item), but I did pick up a tasty cookie. They have tons of cute cookies that would make great gifts... Simpsons, Angry Birds, cute animals, holiday themed... I bought a zombie teddy bear as a snack. The cookie tasted fresh and was well made. The building appeared clean and well maintained. The service was quick and friendly. I will be stopping here again before I leave to grab some fun cookies for friends and family!

What a great little bakery. The sign out front is very cute. " cookie or no cookie" I am glad I decided on cookie. The Mom and daughter were so nice. I will definatley go back just because of the service. On top of the service. The best ginger molasses cookie!!

It is with sadness that I’m writing this review, after 36 YEARS of baking, Boko Bakery will be closing its doors on Elgin Street at the end of this month. If you haven’t had the opportunity to savour the quality of this bakery, it is simply a must to add to your Fabulous Food Finds list or just run in to get a snack to go with your daily coffee. This quaint Japanese family took a delicious French traditional bakery and transformed it into an artistic and flavourful masterpiece. Being raised in a French family, I have had the opportunity to sample many croissants over the years... Yoko, without a doubt, makes THE BEST croissants in the Ottawa area. Her son Jun and wife Rieko are also marvellously talented with producing original sugar cookies of your favorite seasonal icon or video game characters with flavor, style and attention to detail. These delicious and beautiful deserts are a pleasant treat for a simple pleasure or indulgence. Thank you to Yoko and her family for bringing us your delicious breads and desserts.
Chef M — Google review
Love this bakery!!! They always have really fun and cook cookies like different Pokemon like Pikachu or even Rick and Morty from the famous Rick and Morty TV show. Their baked goods are also very delicious as well. A must visit when you are in the Elgin area.

Yummy Cookies is a popular treat found at Ottawa's Farmers Market, where they are freshly baked every day using authentic Belgian chocolate. The owner, Colleen, is known for her warm welcome and the delightful aroma of fresh-baked goods in her shop. Customers rave about favorites like gingerbread, snickerdoodle, and white macadamia nut cookies. Additionally, the red velvet cheesecake brownie bars and lemon bars have received high praise from visitors who can't resist coming back for more.
Discovered this spot at the landsdowne farmers market and went back 2 weeks in a row to get their red velvet and white chocolate chip and macadamia nuts cookies. Me and my bf devoured 6 cookies within the same afternoon. The cookies were tender and just so soft. Definitely a must try if you're craving something sweet.

I hate to give such a terrible review to this company because I have used them in the past and had a good experience but this past experience was so bad that I had to share. I was looking to order some custom cookies for my grandfathers celebration of life. I wanted some tractors, my grandpas business logo and cats. The owner of the company, Colleen, whipped up a design on Canva for the tractors that would be on a round cookie. I was really hoping for a tractor cut out so I was pretty disappointed. The design on canva was also so bad. It looked very amateur and lazy. Honestly, this was so weird because the cookies I ordered before for my daughter’s birthday were so amazing and cute and perfect so I have no idea what went wrong here. The business logo was also really bad and I was just so unhappy with it all. My dad had the great idea of also including a cat cookie but Colleen just never responded when the event was days away. I think because it was for a funeral it was even more disappointing but either way, I had to pivot and go with another company and I’m very happy I did! I got the most beautiful and delicious cookies for this special occasion. Definitely give yourself time to speak with the company well in advance and ask for samples before you buy!!

Shhhh .... I found this secret cookie place hidden behind some industrial businesses. Colleen and her amazing team are talented and amazing people! Their little shop is located behind the McDonald's on St-laurent blvd, on Gladwin cres is called Yummy Cookies. They have been open for many years mostly focused on orders and farmer's markets but in the past year they decided to open their shop to the public, being that it's so close to work, why haven't I been here sooner!! From beautifully decorated sugar cookies to different delicious looking squares, this little shop packs a big punch! Colleen was so sweet and was very happy to answer any questions I asked (because I'm so nosy lol) OK now let's talk cookies!! Look how darn cute these dress cookies I got for Mother's Day, and the adorable tulips and daisies are perfection. According to everyone who got one, they were delicious! And the squares were so big that I was able to cute them into 4 mini squares to make a dessert board. The lemon was my favourite, tart and sweet. I look forward to seeing her and her team at the Landsdown farmer's market this summer! #supportlocal #ottawafoodiestalker

I absolutely LOVE the desserts here. They taste absolutely delicious and look so amazing. You can tell hard work is put into everything they make here. Another bonus when visiting this shop is the customer service you receive; they truly always make you feel special and cared about. I would recommend this place a billion times; if you have not tried it definitely go as soon as you can! In the picture is a cheesecake brownie, butter tart square and a Nanaimo square 😍🤤.

I recently came across yummy cookies at the farmers market in Orleans and purchased M&Ms cookies - chocolate and white mixed and red velvet cookies as well as a chocolate brownie and red velvet brownie/square. The total came to $33.50 which was a lot for 1 doz cookies and two squares but I thought as long as they are good, who cares. But unfortunately they were not. They were all dry and stale, no idea when they had been baked but definitely not fresh. The brownies were awful and dry. I do not recommend. I’m a baker myself so don’t usually buy baked goods as I don’t find they taste that great compared to home baked but these looked very good. But alas, I was very disappointed.
Louise F — Google review
These cookies live up to their name. You can find them at many farmer's markets around the city, as well. The ginger cookies are my personal favorite.
Ryan H — Google review
I've been purchasing loafs from this vendor for years until they sold me old, dry, stale lemon poppyseed loaf at the westboro farmers market (purchased on May 24th). Such a disappointing experience and I won't be buying from them again as I no longer trust their quality.
Wendy S — Google review
I had their cinnamon buns at the market this past weekend. Easily the best cinnamon bun I ever had. Delicious!!

Nestled in the vibrant Hintonburg neighborhood, Hello Dolly Pastries is a delightful haven for dessert lovers. This queer-owned and neurodivergent-operated bakery specializes in custom cookie designs, cakes, and meringues that not only satisfy your sweet cravings but also tell a story of diversity and creativity through collaborations with local artists.
While I've been a casual customer of Hello Dolly's over the last few years (picking up cookies, stationary, and accessories at ComicCons, and in store) I feel that posting a review has been long overdue! The owner and staff are always so friendly and kind, and the cookies are delicious! And their cookie advent calendars are so much fun - highly recommend ordering one! I adore ScienceCobs designs and stationery and I have several pieces of hair accessories from Angelita & Co. Most recently I placed a custom cookie order for the first time for an event (Bridal Shower - Sailor Moon themed) and the outcome blew me away! They turned out so incredible, I love/loved them so so so much. I can't thank you enough. I could feel the love and effort that was put into designing and making them. In addition, I needed a few of the cookies to be vegan/gluten free and they were able to accommodate for that as well. They were a hit at the event too :) THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Daphne O — Google review
One of my absolute favourite local businesses! Excellent place to get a cute gift or a little treat for yourself. Hello Dolly also made the cookies for our wedding, which were absolutely perfect! They were great to communicate with throughout the process and accommodated allergies. Thank you!
Rachelle D — Google review
I recently came across this amazing shop after having a terrible experience with another coming when ordering custom cookies for my grandfathers celebration of life. It was literally down to the wire but I had to pivot, fire the previous company, and regroup which was so stressful BUT I definitely had my grandpa looking down on me because I randomly found a hello dolly’s. They not only took the project on, we’re super friendly and confident that they could get it done, they also completely exceeded our expectations on the cookies themselves! I cannot thank them enough for the amazing work they did. Most of my family couldn’t eat them, they were so beautiful and so sentimental. Hands down the best experience ever!! Thank you all so much!!
Sarah C — Google review
terrible, dry as a rock, STALE, price was not displayed on the cookie, a single one costed me 7 WHOLE DOLLARS!!! for 7 dollars why am i getting artificial flavoured cookies? if you have braces or retainers it’s over. save your cash DO NOT COME HERE. no best before date either. how do i know if it’s a year old hm? absolutely atrocious do not waste your money!!!!!! also look at the picture— is that grey icing or mold?
Savini — Google review
This place is amazing! I have been waiting 2 years to come here, and it was worth the wait. The cookies are ABSOLUTELY adorable and delicious! Not only that, but their entire kitchen is NUT-FREE. Which, for someone like me who has a life threatening nut allergy, is a god send. They also sell a lot of cute merch (tote bags, keychains, badge pins etc) and I LOVE that they’re queer friendly, and pay their employees a liveable wage. The owners and staff are so kind, friendly, and welcoming. They are wonderful people, and definitely deserve ALL your business! Go go go go go!!!! I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Ottawa. :)
Stephanie M — Google review
Super cute shop and cookie store! Love the assortment of goodies and sugar cookies, as well as the products from Science Cobs and other local vendors on the side. Love how cute the store is! The cookies taste delicious and are hand decorated so beautifully.
Audrey T — Google review
I recently ordered a mini red velvet cake from Hello Dolly Pastries for my mother’s birthday after reading positive reviews online. While beautifully decorated, the cake was lacklustre— bland, with an overwhelmingly buttery frosting that lacked the cream cheese flavour expected in a classic red velvet. Adding insult to injury, my mother, who is a red velvet enthusiast, could not even tell what kind of cake it was- talk about a birthday disappointment. When I shared my experience with the bakery, they initially asked how they could make it right. However, after testing the cake themselves, they decided it was up to personal preference and withdrew their offer to rectify the situation. While I can’t speak for their other products (even though I’m convinced their other cakes are similarly pedestrian), this experience coupled with the opinion that there is an abundance of superior bakeries in the city, ensures I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

Adorable little shop with fun colours and a very inviting vibe. Purchased a paintable sugar cookie which my son loved painting. The taste was delicious and the perfect texture. I got 2 mini cakes 🎂 raspberry white chocolate and chocolate ganache. The chocolate was by far my fav, and I loved the beautifully decorated top.

Courage Cookies Ottawa has recently opened its doors in the former Sharpfle Waffle location, sharing space with Sutton Group Realty. This delightful cookie shop offers a variety of treats, including a gluten-free chocolate chunk cookie that is both crispy and flavorful. While some may find the prices on the higher side, many agree that these cookies are worth every penny for their quality and taste. The selection includes unique flavors like birthday cake and brown butter rice krispies, catering to diverse preferences among cookie lovers.
I was really excited when I found out a cookie bakery was coming to Hintonburg, and I'm so glad they're even better than I hoped. The two workers I met with were also incredibly kind and friendly. My favourite so far is the brown butter rice krispies cookie, but I'll have to go back to try the rest to know for sure.
Haider R — Google review
They are open! The location is where Sharpfle Waffle used to be. Co-located with the Sutton Group Realty office. I tried the gluten-free chocolate chunk cookie. Was $4.12 with taxes. A bit pricey (but what isn't these days? 🙃), but it was good. It's a smaller more crispier cookie, as opposed to Chippers down the road, which is bigger and softer. I like both. Happy to have more options in the neighbourhood.
Jennifer V — Google review
Honestly, this fancy cookie craze needs to die down because $20 for 6 cookies is insane. On top of that, most of them didn't taste anything special. They are loaded with goodies which I guess justify their price, but it made them overly sweet - the Oreo, Mini Egg, and Triple Chocolate ones especially. I'm glad I got two of the peanut butter one because the saltiness balanced out the sweetness. It also had actual peanut pieces in the cookie which made the texture interesting. The whisky pecan one was also good. But good the problem is that the whisky pecan and the peanut butter ones are not always on the menu. So you don't know if they will be available that specific week. When I asked if they post their weekly offerings online, I got told they prefer to keep it a surprise for when people walk in. I find that overly pretentious and inconvenient. They are cookies, not the Declaration of Independence.
Stella C — Google review
Even though they are pricey, they are actually delicious. If you're looking for a low volume high quality treat, then this fits that niche. Each cookie I found to be very soft, which I prefer, and flavorful. I wish I had more selection, but it was late in the day when I went into the store, so if there is a specific cookie you want, you probably need to go early or call ahead and ask.
TheBicycleSpoke — Google review
I bought an Oreo cookie and Velvet at 11 in the morning: crisp, fresh, warm. I was so shock at the velvet cookie, it has marshmallows stuffing inside and it was soooo good. I'll come back and try another, best cookie I have so far. The price is very reasonable for such a delights

These are the best cookies I’ve tried in Ottawa. Perfectly chewy and hold up for days afterwards. The flavours always impress me too. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a sweet little treat.

All my son wanted for his Birthday was a cake that looked like a hamburger. This was amazing. Taste and appearance above the 5star rating available. Definitely recommend.

We ordered a birthday cake in a specific style and flavours, and it was perfect! The cake was moist and held beautifully when we cut it. Service was friendly and professional.

Treats looked and tasted delicious. Only complaint is with the tarts which were quite small and very runny as if the liquid was not cooked enough.
