When exploring the charming streets of Malacca, take a break from the sun and discover The Daily Fix cafe nestled within a souvenir shop selling Nyonya items. This hidden gem offers a warm and relaxing atmosphere with its scenic plants and nostalgic decor. Indulge in a variety of delectable Western dishes and desserts, including their renowned fluffy pancakes available in flavors like Durian and Kaya.
We had a really lovely experience at this spot in Malacca. I ordered a smoothie bowl that was absolutely excellent – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We also tried the cheesy sandwich with eggs, and the eggs were especially impressive: perfectly cooked and very well seasoned. The hazelnut coffee was incredible, and I really appreciated the fact that they offer a variety of milk options. The atmosphere is another highlight – very relaxed, surrounded by greenery and vintage decor, with great background music at just the right volume. The only small detail we’d suggest is serving the coffee a bit hotter, but overall the place is charming and definitely worth a visit

Actually the food quality worth more than 1 star and overall definitely more than 2 starts. Unfortunately, the cold brew coffee is contaminated and 3rd party delivery not willing for refund. Sorry but the 3rd party delivery makes me feel the cafe is not apologetic at all regarding their non fresh food quality. Do not order their cold brew for takeaway. Or rather order anything that can be freshly made. Pandan pancake indeed very good. Gula Melaka fillings makes the entire pancake taste so delicious. With or without the shredded coconuts are good. Risotto with black ink above average but definitely not something I will wow having it. Drinks is no no to me specially for takeaway. Contaminated coffee and salted ice chocolate tasted weird and not strong chocolate is taste. In housing dining is always crowded that’s why we chosen 3rd party delivery option to try the food and drinks. Ambience is good, one of the few nicely renovated and photographic cafes at jonker street. Please take note of your cold brew and ensure it’s good or rather consumable before handling to consumers. Kinda disappointed thou.

Started the morning at The Daily Fix Café and it was such a lovely way to begin the day. The cozy, photo-worthy space tucked behind a gelato shop was packed but worth the wait. The Local Pandan Pancake was crisp on the outside and soft inside with rich gula melaka syrup and coconut that we wished came in an extra scoop. The Fish and Chips were golden, crunchy, and perfectly paired with garlicky tartar sauce. The Signature Salted Gula Melaka Coffee was smooth and balanced, while the TDF Dirty Latte with earl grey milk and ristretto was outstanding. A must-visit every Melaka trip. 📸 Follow @ayaalan.foodie for more foodie reviews!

Went there to grab a quick dinner. Ordered smoked duck aglio olio pasta and onde-onde cake. The meal came quickly and freshly-made. The pasta was very flavorful, and the cake was light, not overly sweet and delicious. The cafe has a very nostalgic and rustic vibes. The restroom was comfortable. This is a great option in Jonker Walk area after a long walk, especially since a lot of other cafes close earlier. The services were nice and warm.

The queue was long, but manageable bcs you get to shop around first and get a scoop of gelato like me! The souvenirs were so cuteee too, it’ll easily keep you occupied while waiting. Gelatos were chef’s kiss!! Then we had big breakfast and no-meat spaghetti. Portion was enourmous, good for sharing. Taste wise — its was pretty nice. Amazing ambiance, definitely instagram worthy. Should check it out if you have time.

This is kind of like the IT spot in town right now. So, especially if you’re coming on a weekends, be prepare to queue. I went there on a Sunday for brunch, and the wait was around 1 hour. They have seating area on 2 floors, but if possible, ask for the one on the ground floor. Because once you got a table, you need to order at the cashier which is only available on the ground floor. Also the stairs were a bit steep. For the food, we got the Eggs Benedict, Onion Rings, and Pandan Pancake. The Eggs Benedict was ok but the egg is slightly overcooked for this style. Pancake was nice, it was fluffy and got that coconut gula melaka filling. Onion rings were as expected. For the drink, got juice, latte, and iced chocolate. Iced chocolate was a bit bland for my preference, as it has more milk with a slight taste of cocoa powder. As for the other 2, both were ok. The staff was welcoming & kind. Food came rather slow but understandable due to the number of guests they have. — do check their opening hours before coming. They closes early on Friday-Sunday (5.30pm)

Looking for a Yummylicious, shockalingam, slurpylicious fix for breakfast? If you are in Melaka, check out the tantalizing big breakfast and the pancakes at The Daily Fix. The breakfast options here is huge in variety and is super delicious and will make your mouth water like it has not watered before. Wash all of it down with a delicious mug of coffee served hot or cold.
Fr K — Google review
A friend told me that the coffee here is very good, thus I must try. The Flat White in Daily Fix cafe is truly good, coffee taste just right at perfect temperature. The staff recommended Club Sandwich and it’s HUGE! Good delicious toast chicken, chicken ham and salads, it would have been even better if it’s warmer. Nevertheless sitting at a sewing machine for breakfast is very enjoyable.

Dim sum restaurant
Chinese restaurant
Restaurant
Low Yong Moh Restaurant, also known as Restoran Rong Mao, has been a bustling dim sum eatery since 1963 and is situated across from the historic Kampung Kling Mosque in Melaka. As one of the oldest dim sum restaurants in Malacca, it holds its own charm. The interior exudes Chinese cultural influences with banquet tables, red plastic chairs, paper lanterns, and Chinese inscriptions adorning the walls.
Low Yong Moh Restaurant is one of Melaka’s oldest dim sum shops, now managed by its third generation. Located right in the UNESCO Heritage area, it’s surrounded by landmarks that reflect Melaka’s multicultural heritage — a mosque just opposite, a Hindu temple on the left, and the famous Cheng Hoon Teng Temple on the right. Because of its location, the prices are slightly above average, but the experience is truly unique. I especially enjoyed their Lotus Leaf Rice, which had a wonderful fragrance from the lotus leaf and a rich, savory flavor. It’s soft, aromatic, and perfectly cooked — one of the must-try items here. This time, I also tried the Braised Pork Bun (Kau Yuk Bao). The portion was generous — a big piece of tender pork belly wrapped in a soft steamed bun. The pork had distinct layers of lean and fat at each end, creating a satisfying texture. The staff were friendly and attentive, maintaining the warmth of a family-run restaurant. If you love history and want to experience the charm of Melaka’s three religions coexisting on one street, Low Yong Moh is the perfect place to enjoy authentic dim sum with a sense of nostalgia.
Lina P — Google review
Lovely old school dimsum place, service is good and efficient (and speak in English). The steamed dimsums are better in taste, each having its own flavor. Opens mainly for breakfast till 11:30 am. For tourists like me, this hit the spot. Oh, also spotlessly clean!
Rinita S — Google review
Went to eat super early in the morning thinking there's a crowd to beat. It's our 2nd time back after a long time. The food is pretty typical dim sum fare, nothing exceptional. I've had better dim sum fare. Spent RM 132 for 4a and 1c.
K L — Google review
Homemade dimsum served here. We found the dimsum to be hit or miss depending on which you got. We came over a long weekend so the situation was very chaotic when we visited. We ordered the lotus leaf rice (5/5), charsiew bao (4/5), xiaolongbao (3/5), lau sha bao (4/5), siewmai (4/5), yam pork (3/5), fried prawn dumpling (4/5), fried tofu (3/5). We noted quite a few of their dimsum looked different from the standard look, so be sure to ask what everything is :) we found the pricing a little steep but it’s acceptable for the area. RM78 for 4 pax.
CW W — Google review
People are friendly there, service is good and attentive The Dimsum are look like in-house made, (not frozen one from the factory) Lotus leaf rice and prawn Siumai are very nice!!!! We ordered 11 Dimsum + chrysanthemum drink+ a pot of tea (1pax) only RM 58.8. There’s slightly hot in the shop even sitting outdoor. It’s the only drawback part. But it’s ok, jz go there in a less-sunny day or early morning. ☺️
BT — Google review
According to my local friend, locals in Melaka don’t usually eat dim sum for lunch — the latest they’ll have it is around 10am. True enough, we arrived at 12 noon and there were only 3 occupied tables, including ours. By then, the food selection was quite limited — the congee was sold out, and only some dim sum items and remaining baos were available. That said, it didn’t stop us from staying for a quick meal. We still enjoyed a few dim sum dishes. Portions are small but well done. The har gow skin was on the thicker side, but the flavour was still good. The lor mai gai was the highlight for my husband — fragrant, comforting, and filling. Payment was made in cash, though I did spot a QR code, so e-payment might be accepted too.
Tan. W — Google review
Traditional dim sum shop with a wide selection of dim sum. Dim sum filling is nice and tasty but some dishes were a miss. Bao(bun) skin was too thick and doughy not allowing the flavours of the filling to shine through.
Y S — Google review
I will make sure to drop by this place for breakfast every time I visit Malacca. Although its dim sum is not the best I have tasted anywhere outside Hong Kong, the vibes feel very authentic just like a traditional Cantonese family-run dim sum restaurant.

Lung Ann Refreshments, situated along Lorong Hang Jebat in Melaka, is a beloved breakfast spot known for its traditional Hainanese breakfast offerings. Despite its unassuming interior, the comfort and nostalgia it evokes make it a popular choice among locals and travelers alike. The menu features classic items such as Half Boiled Eggs and Toast paired with their signature thick black coffee that isn't overly sweetened. The lightly toasted bread adds to the appeal of this simple yet satisfying breakfast experience.
Traditional kopitiam. Repeat customer whenever visiting Melacca even my daughter would request me for a light breakfast there. Kaya is with lemongrass flavour, the main point.
Cheon Y — Google review
☕️Nestled in the charming streets of Malacca, Malaysia, Lung Ann Refreshments beckons coffee enthusiasts and foodies alike for an unforgettable dining experience. My first visit for a cup of their aromatic coffee turned into a delightful journey of flavors when I tried their heavenly egg and toast set. The half-boiled egg was perfectly executed, providing a creamy and yolky indulgence that paired flawlessly with the crisp toast. On subsequent visits, I couldn't resist delving into their noodles, which were cooked to perfection and left me craving for more. The combination of the aromatic coffee, heavenly egg, and flavorful noodles at Lung Ann Refreshments truly sets the bar high for a satisfying breakfast experience.
Moses - — Google review
My favourite Hainanese kopitiam near Jonker has a new noodle stall! Great addition for people who are keen for some warm comfort food early in the morning, this couple sells laksa and yeekiawmee at Lung Ann! The laksa is not creamy santan-ish like the typical nyonya laksa, but more of those traditional wet market kind, I love it! The aroma is fragrant, not too lemak. Yeekiawmee, as usual I ordered white sauce with no taugeh, surprisingly the gravy is not heavy on sesame oil/soy sauce, it's quite "chng", mix with the sambal, it's quite settling especially as a first meal in the morning, not too savoury! Do drop by for some hot piping noodles if you're round the corner! Sometimes boss can be quite overwhelmed with the orders so the preparation may take time, don't come with a hungry tummy! Or maybe you can indulge in traditional Hainanese coffee, toast and nasi lemak while you're waiting! If you like coffee or tea that is gao, this is a good place for some chit chat (like all the old uncle aunties with newspaper early morning).. However, as they are severely lacked of hands (boss and ladyboss are old), please be patient!

i so wanted to gatekeep this place from the public but i guess not. we stumbled upon this place while walking to another kopitiam. decided to give this place a try and indeed, there were no regrets. nasi lemak sedap, roti bakar sedap, half boiled eggs sedap, kopi sedap. and murah!

Small kopitiam near Jonker. Simple and relatively cheap makan. $9.50 for ice coffee, kaya toast and half boiled eggs. Most customers are local aunties and uncles living and working nearby. Authentic.

Very old timey place, with pretty good toast and steamed bread, half boiled eggs were perfection. Teow chew noodles seems a lot like koay chap and the curry mee is very tasty too. The kopi o ice is good too.

We went here for a culture and heritage. If you go to Malacca without visiting Jonker, then you are not really visiting Malacca. The market is quite long and have a lot of items available from foods, souvenirs and clothes. Beside hawker stall, few shops are also open. The vibe here is very nice, lot of people, crowded but it's good tho. Parking can be struggle around this area so make sure to plan your arrival well. From here you also can walk to others historical spots like afamosa, makam hang kasturi, museum, menara jam and stadhuys. Some items here are quite rare too. The view are also very nice, classic architecture and wonderful experience

Only active from Friday to Sunday, from morning until late night, but absolutely worth planning around. I had the pleasure of experiencing the place both during the day and at night, and it was incredible each time. It’s a wonderful place and a fantastic experience — an absolute must if you’re in Melaka. There’s so much to see, eat, drink, and shop. It’s a shopper’s paradise with unique goods, amazing food, and incredibly low prices. Overwhelming in the best way possible, with endless options and choices.

Jonker Street (Jalan Hang Jebat, Melaka) Located in the heart of Melaka’s Chinatown, Malaysia Jonker Street, officially known as Jalan Hang Jebat, is the vibrant soul of Melaka’s Chinatown — a lively stretch famous for its night market, heritage shophouses, antique stores, cafés, and street food. Once home to wealthy Peranakan (Straits Chinese) families, the street’s architecture reflects centuries of cultural fusion — Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese, and British influences all intertwined in ornate façades and wooden shutters. By day, Jonker Street is a charming lane of antique dealers, art galleries, craft shops, and traditional bakeries, selling everything from vintage cameras and porcelain to pineapple tarts and handmade jewelry. When night falls, the entire street transforms into one of Malaysia’s most beloved night markets — buzzing with food stalls, music, and lights. Visitors can savour local favourites like chicken rice balls, cendol, Nyonya laksa, satay celup, and fried radish cake, while browsing through rows of souvenirs and handmade crafts. The air is filled with laughter, the aroma of grilled skewers, and the rhythm of buskers performing under lanterns. Beyond its food and fun, Jonker Street is also a living museum — a place where heritage, commerce, and community coexist. Nearby attractions include Cheng Hoon Teng Temple (Malaysia’s oldest Chinese temple), Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum, and Kampung Kling Mosque, all within walking distance. Today, Jonker Street remains the beating heart of Melaka’s old town — a symbol of multicultural Malaysia and a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience its historic charm, creative energy, and timeless street life.

Jonker Street, officially known as Jalan Hang Jebat, sits at the heart of Malacca’s historic Chinatown a lively blend of heritage, culture, and chaos in the best possible way. By day, its narrow lanes reveal rows of centuries-old shophouses, once home to Peranakan merchants, now transformed into cafés, antique stores, and quirky boutiques. By night, Jonker Street transforms into a vibrant night market where the air fills with the scent of grilled satay, chicken rice balls, and the sweet smoke of coconut pancakes.

Nestled within a small valley, this cafe stands out among the thirteen states of Malaysia. Its beach-themed design features pebble-filled flooring and wooden pathways, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a leisurely stroll along the seashore while enjoying a cup of coffee.
Calanthe Art Cafe in Malacca is a truly charming spot that beautifully blends character, comfort, and flavor. The ambience is warm, artistic, and inviting—perfect for relaxing or spending time with family & friends. Their coffee is outstanding, offering rich flavors and great variety. The food menu is equally impressive, with the Laksa standing out as one of the best in Malacca—creamy, aromatic, and packed with authentic taste. From the unique decor to the attentive service, everything about this café makes it a memorable experience. A must-visit for anyone exploring Malacca.

Mmm. The service is ok only given they use QR scan for customers to take their own order. Only service is when they bring the food to the customers. Nostalgic deco and warm atmosphere, but the seating is not comfortable. Table is too close to the cabin stool. Food - nasi lemak is ok and I quite like it. However, the chicken chop is pretty bad on the meat. It’s not fresh. The sauce is too sweet… Drink - I ordered a state coffee but the taste of it doesn’t taste too local and very thin flavour. I’ll reserve my stomach space for other restaurants that offer way better food than here.
Bridget H — Google review
Stumbled across this cafe late evening and thought let’s sit down for a coffee. I was shown to a table by a very polite slim handsome young man who gestured for me to use the QR thingy….as I’m not that good with these modern ways I asked if he had a normal menu and hay presto he popped one on my table. After much debate I chose a strong dark coffee K03 and gestured to him I was ready to order. He easily took my order via his hand held device and within a short while the coffee arrived. To say I absolutely love coffee would be an understatement and this one was absolutely stunning, lush strong flavours but no bitterness. I will be back for another and enjoy some food to go with it in the next few days.

Unexpectedly Charming for a Non-Coffee Drinker! I'm usually not a coffee aficionado, but this cafe and its ambiance converted me for a moment! I had a perfectly relaxing and restful time here. Instead of my usual order, I opted for their Kopi Pulau Pinang, and truly savored every sip — it was smooth, aromatic, and just what I needed. The staff are exceptionally warm and engaging. They took the time to chat with me and were generous enough to offer a free sample of their recommended Kopi of the Day — Kopi Kelantan, a special they change daily, which is a wonderful touch! It felt like I was being hosted, not just served. A Fun Challenge: While you're enjoying your drink, try spotting the fascinating, old photograph-like face across the road near CAC! It's a unique little visual quirk that adds to the charm of the location. The answer is in one of the pictures.

What's good for dinner? This place packs some real good dishes, be it enjoyed individually or by sharing. Ordered the Calanthe Laksa Noodle Soup, Curry Laksa, Signature Laksa, Creamy Curry Butter Chicken, Tom yum. Also a Western meal to add to our degustation. Interesting 13 States Coffee for your preferential enjoyment. Good ambience and apt for those who likes to photograph and share online.

Unique experience to try coffee from 13 states of Malaysia. While each has its own distinctive taste, I like the one from Penang, Melaka, Johor and Kelantan. Best part it comes with a take home cup from the place. Nice.

An excellent place for a coffee break in the hot afternoon near Jonker Walk. We parked at a nearby open parking space and walked here easily. I enjoyed the cold homemade sour plum drink since I’m not into coffee and it was too hot for trying out hot chocolate myself. Family enjoyed our time relaxing here, which has a small indoor fish pond and plenty of retro kitchenware hanging on the wall. The crepe cake was fine while the waffle was small and unimpressive. Overall, a recommended cafe around Jonker area.

Went there during a weekday and didn’t have to wait at all. Tried their Laksa and it was good. Ordered the Kelantan coffee too and was aromatic and quite good. Our coffee and Laksa took some time to arrive though. But overall a great place for food and great ambience with antiques and old decos.

Locahouz, a charming cafe in Malacca, was established by two sisters who sought comfort and contentment after one of them returned from a stressful stint in Kuala Lumpur. The cafe is located near one of Malaysia's oldest Chinese temples and is adorned with personal items such as their late grandfather's 80-year-old bicycle and their mother's sewing machine. Locahouz offers traditional local favorites like loh mai kai alongside international cuisine such as ciabatta sandwiches.
Street and paid parking available. Relatively quiet street a stone's throw from bukit cina. Very well preserved and tastefully decorated cafe serving both, a curated selection of local and western cuisine. Nice lofi music and a home garden with a water feature bring calming vibes. Interesting local variation of malaccan coffee. We had the spicy pork rib rice, aglio olio and pumpkin mantou teriyaki pork burger - each, exceeding expectations. If i rate this with an extra star, i would. Classy, down-to-earth. Must visit!

For those who have dogs or travelling with dog, this place is a must stop. Beautiful cozy ambiance, with soothing piped- in music to calm your pup down. We fell in love with this place the minute we stepped into this restaurant. Friendly staff, good range of food selection from the menu. However, the taste can be improved. Highly recommend this place for those with pets.

The atmosphere was fantastic ,extra points for being pet-friendly. Staff was incredibly warm and attentive, making sure we felt taken care of throughout our visit. Carbonara was abit on the watery side, could have make it creamier. The texture of pork ribs is well cooked but there’s a porky taste to it which I think could had been handled well. The ciabatta with the satay chicken was made really well, great fusion effort done there.

Nice ambience. Likely family business with informal service. Food fusion. Chili garam pork with fettuccine. Deconstructed cheesecake. Prices above average

Came in on a week day wanting an all day breakfast, and this was exactly what i wanted! Bih Portion, cooked well to request! The sweetened granola on the salad was the highlight! Such a good combo! Pork sausage was crunchy, prefectly cooked! The atmosphere is always so devinely calming here... they have nice mautau bun burgers which are super yummy too!

We came to this restaurant that is housed in a heritage building for lunch. The decor is very interesting and the place quiet and relaxing. Staff were friendly and approachable. They serve western food and some local coffee. There are many photo worthy spots here. The teriyaki burger was good as was the sourdough egg dish. They have many paintings here so it's a relaxing place to appreciate some art.

Was there with the family on 5 Oct Sun for brunch. Short walk from our hotel Ibis Melaka. Agree with earlier reviews, food was very good and the portions generous. We had the ribs, smoked duck, chicken chop and pork belly pasta and french toast. Ambience was cosy indeed. Great place to while away a sun morning. Highly recommend this place.

Heng Huat Coffee Shop, a modest cafe in Melaka, has been serving food since 1955 and is known for its unchanged menu. Tucked away from the tourist crowds near Jonker Walk, this family-run kopitiam offers rock-bottom prices for Hainanese dishes and refreshing iced drinks. The shop is popular for its wan tan pork noodles and dumpling soup at affordable prices. While the service may not be spectacular, the cleanliness is well-maintained.
Had wan tan mee & cham. Very reasonable price. Wan tan mee was old school flavour and cham was nice. Low profile coffee shop at jonker street but definitely will come back again

Very good traditional wanton mee- old school flavor. The toast and coffee are acceptable. Local pricing as the coffee shop front age is nondescript and doesn't attract the tourists.

Actually we wanted to eat the restaurant opposite, Ah Ma Ho Liao, but the restaurant was tore down for renovation. This coffee shop is right opposite, they serve traditional breakfast set and wanton mee. A normal breakfast set, with a garlic bread and Kaya butter toast, with a beverage is about RM 14.50. The tea not as fantastic, the garlic bread like missing something. But can feel a lot of effort put into preparing the food. Wanton mee was okay, but would love it if the noodles is abit more bouncy.

This is a place where the local and tourist patron for breakfast and coffee. The authentic local flavour Wan Tan Mee reminded me of my childhood. I ordered a small portion at RM6 each. The coffee is good. There is a stall selling local nyonya kuih and nasi lemak in the front. You can top it up if the Wan Tan Mee is not enough. I saw other people ordered toasted bread and half boiled eggs etc. The service is good, and the cleanliness is good as well. You have a choice to sit inside the shop or the outdoor space overlooking Jonker street and the side road.

Heng Huat Coffee Shop is one of those old-school neighbourhood spots that carries a quiet nostalgia — the kind of place your dad went to, and somehow it still looks and feels the same decades later. It has that classic kopitiam atmosphere: unpretentious, familiar, and gently buzzing with regulars who’ve been coming for years. There’s a simplicity to it that makes the experience feel grounded and honest. The wantan mee here is decent and dependable, delivering the comforting flavours you’d expect without trying to be anything more. Springy noodles, a light but flavourful sauce, and straightforward char siu make it an easy, satisfying choice if you’re already nearby. It’s not a destination meal, but it’s a slice of local familiarity — the kind of bowl that tastes a bit better because of the memories attached to it.

Kedai Kopi Kheng Juan Hin is a quaint coffee shop that has retained its traditional Chinese style. The coffees are of high quality and the toast and eggs perfect for breakfast. The only downside is the lack of wifi, but this can easily be overlooked in favour of a delicious cup of coffee.
This is my regular breakfast place whenever I visit Melaka. Love the charcoal toasted Kaya Butter Bread and the Coffee served here. The chicken rice ball is also good and the packet Nasi Lemak has a traditional taste to it which I like too.
Alwin T — Google review
Easily the best breakfast spot we’ve had so far — clearly a local favourite! According to my friend who’s from Melaka town, folks from the town area usually don’t travel here for breakfast since they already have plenty of options. Still, this place was packed with locals from the surrounding area — always a good sign! We had the local toast and a small packet of nasi lemak. The kaya and butter spread on the toast was so generous that I actually had to scrape some off — a little too sweet for my taste, but still delicious if you have a sweet tooth. The nasi lemak came in a small paper packet, and to my surprise, it had kangkong in it — possibly a Melaka specialty? Definitely recommend this spot if you want to dine like the locals and escape the usual tourist crowd. Note: Payment is made only after all the food is served, and it’s cash only.

High time I review this place after patronising here for 4-5 times. Typical Melaka local style kopitiam with typical local style service. Loved the white chicken rice, much better and more value than those at jonker street. Run by a young chap supported by a female assistant. Loved the kopi gao xiu dai, charcoal toasted Kaya butter toast and Nasi lemak. Park along the road.

Best best best kaya butter toast ever! You could tell that the kaya was homemade as it was smooth, no clumps, and was a neutral colour. Eggs were cooked to perfection, toast was crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The nanyang coffee was sooooo aromatic and thick! I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

We’ve discovered the restaurant while wandering around the old streets of Melaka and we decided to have our brunch here. The food options is limited to normal kopitiam such as coffee, toasts and half boiled eggs. And main dishes are mee hun kueh and other noodle dish. The food were okay and the portion is adequate, price considered fair in tourist area. It may feel hot during noon as the place were not aor conditioned.

Came across this coffee shop during my morning walk and decided to try as it seemed very popular. When I went to the place at 8am+ the following day, it was as busy as it can get. Really amazing to see so many people finding their way to this place. You pay your drinks and the food separately. Food wise, the noodles are fairly ordinary, at least for me it would not be something I would recommend highly as a must try place. More for novelty and if you close by, good to try. The coffee is nice - flavourful grounded coffee of the old days.

Fantastic, the best noodles we have eaten in a year or probably EVER. actually we were on our way to another place nearby , but got magically drawn to this interesting old school looking place. Mods Cafe, Artisan Hand Roasted Coffee 精品碳烤咖啡 is a unique and trendy coffee shop located near the Cheng Hoon Teng temple in Melaka. The cafe's interior is adorned with a music theme, featuring a large VW campervan as the centerpiece, vinyl records on the walls, and vintage decor reminiscent of the 1960s mod culture.
I stumbled upon this café years ago and have made it a must-visit whenever I’m in Malacca. It’s one of those spots that feels like home. Their coffee never failed me. My last visit was definitely pre-MCO, and coming back now was such a treat. They’ve added a super friendly staff member who shared some great coffee knowledge with us. I even had a quick chat with the owners—it’s heartwarming to see how their family has grown (two kids now!) and that the café is open daily except Wednesdays (back then, it was a bit of a lucky draw to catch them open!). The Tiramisu was as amazing as I remembered, and I’ve heard the scones are a must-try for my next visit. Can’t wait to come back! Note: I’ve always loved this café, but I get that some might find their house rules a bit unconventional. Honestly, that’s part of what makes them so unique. It’s a charm only true fans can appreciate—once you get it, you really get it.
Jessie Y — Google review
If you're a coffee lover visiting Melaka, Mods Cafe is a must-visit. The coffee here is absolutely top-notch — they roast their own beans, process their own milk, and the bean selection is impressive. You can really taste the passion in every cup. What made the visit even better was the owner. Super humble and easy to talk to, a genuine love for coffee and sharing knowledge. Our conversation flowed effortlessly, and it was refreshing to chat with someone so open and passionate. Take note that their house rules might not suit everyone — but that’s part of their charm. It’s clear they take their craft seriously and we will definitely appreciated that. This place is not just about good coffee — it’s about the whole experience!
Syarif S — Google review
This is truly one of the best coffees I’ve ever had. I tried all three types of beans offered, and each one had its own unique flavour profile that was exceptionally well-balanced and enjoyable. However, the Columbia Gomez stood out as my personal favourite — rich, smooth, and incredibly satisfying. This café is an absolute must-visit when you’re in Melaka. The quality of the coffee, the cozy ambiance, and the dedication to their craft make the experience genuinely memorable. You’d really be missing out if you visited Melaka without stopping by for a cup here. The owner is also very friendly and welcoming, which adds an extra touch of warmth to the whole experience. Highly recommended for coffee lovers and anyone looking for a great café in town.

Satisfactory service, great ambience for you to enjoy your coffee. Was introduced with their SOE beans that they claim to be roasted with binjhotan charcoal (pardon my spelling) and price ranging from rm45-60 per cup. Frankly speaking was quite shocked with their price since normally SOE price (especially competition beans) that is usually sold with that price. I ordered one flat white and one colombia beans total up to around rm58. This is my take on their drinks (my personal opinion). Flat white with brazil blend served on a ~200ml cup with no latte art, they basically just pour the milk in, dissapointed on the first look. First sip tasted milky, with nutty and chocolatey hints came afterwards but very mild. Told the barista about it, but they somehow discuss only among them in mandarin which they agree the coffee a bit underwhelming (my friend understands mandarin thankfully haha). 3/10 for the flat white, atleast have some art so it look presentable and rectify with us back why. For the colombia, it was nice, the complex flavour from the beans were highlited quickly on the first sip, got hints of the fruity notes and balanced acidity. Clean cup of coffee. I did asked the staffs about the binjhotan charcoal but they asked me to just google about it. Another lady did tried to explain about it since i’m eagerly curious on wanting to know how does this kind of roasting method might influence the bean’s taste but somehow she’s a bit reluctant to share it with us. I ended up googling to understand better haha. 7/10. Read at vulcan post that the owner Mr Abert doesn’t really care about the negative reviews since all of them is not true “coffee lover” but hear this. As a coffee consumer, I understand that the cost i paid including the beans, equipment, service and the place itself since im dining in, but would greatly appreciate if your staffs could provide clever details on the binjhotan charcoal in coffee roastery for the next asking customer, and provide justification on the milk you’re using if you feel that the coffee you serve will taste underwhelming, or maybe its just my tastebuds. P/s: Took pic of the drinks just as an evidence

After 10 years or so, I am back to this cafe that introduced me to specialty coffee. This is a hidden gem of specialty coffee in Melaka. If I only have time for one cafe, it's this one. I tried their latte with milk reduction (milk with reduced water). It tasted like a creamy salted caramel creme brulee. I also had a filter with notes of peaches, then citrus and lemon and finishing with floral notes, very well balanced and sweet. A must visit place. Please skip this cafe if you are only there for Instagram, leave the seats for those who are serious about coffee.

it’s an accidental finding on Google map, need a coffee break while walking along Jonker Street. My first in rating for a 5 stars, the only things to improve are the external factor (quieter street) and hope to have more coffee-lover to visit. Humble and friendly owner and family. We didn’t chat much but could feel their passion for making authentic coffee and memorable visit for anyone who’ve been there. I love their coffee.Tiramisu. Atmosphere. Sin See Tai is a charming bistro located in Malacca, known for its relaxed backstreet vibes and cozy atmosphere. Housed in a repurposed back alley shophouse, the little bistro exudes a laid-back ambiance with lush plants adorning its entrance. Ascending the narrow stairs leads to a cozy attic space with well-appointed nooks, adding to the unique charm of the place.
It's a very cozy Café. The seats are upstairs and they have different chairs, cozy couches and bean bags. The music matches the vibe. The coffee was good. I had the granola bowl and the portion was good. The Focaccia was also amazing. It was warm. The choices of Croissants and little cakes is huge so it's not an easy decision what to order. It's a bit pricey (still not comparable to general Berlin coffee prices) but definitely worth a visit. I'd highly recommend!

We were so excited to try this top-notched cafe in town and it was up to our expectation. We tried cold brew (black coffee), latte, miso dirty latte and pistachio dirty latte. They all taste good, very strong coffee taste to our liking. My favourite to go is pistachio one.

Food = 3 / 3 stars Service & Ambience = 1 / 1 star Value = 0.5 / 1 star We came at 12pm+ on Sunday. The shop is small, and the sitting area is upstairs. We ordered a filter coffee (Ethiopian beans), flat white (house blend), and pistachio lemon croissant. Total price RM53.90. The croissant is very delicious, perfect score for this alone. Coffee is good too, but I would value it at RM2 less per cup. The ambience has character. We like the varied seating styles, and the green plants around. The stairs are steep, so thread carefully. Good selection of background music, not intrusive. 4.5 stars overall. 5 stars for the croissant.

I'm OBSESSED with the osmanthus coffee at this cafe! The moment I took a sip, I was hooked. The aroma was incredible - floral and fragrant, with just the right hint of sweetness. And the taste? Absolutely divine. The osmanthus flavor was perfectly balanced with the coffee, creating a unique and delicious experience. But what really made my visit stand out was the barista's expertise and friendly service. They were knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and made sure I felt welcome. I've found my new favorite coffee spot - can't wait to go back and try more flavors!

A charming little café tucked away on the street — the kind of spot that makes you want to linger. The coffee was excellent, with a wide range of beans for filter brews. The staff were super helpful, guiding me through the flavor profiles until I found “the one.” Pastries didn’t disappoint either — the sausage roll was a standout (so good I actually came back the very next day!). It does get busy, so if you’re coming with a bigger group, the upstairs seating can be a bit tight. But there’s always the outdoor area if you don’t mind the heat — perfect for people-watching with your cup of coffee.

Such a cozy little café hidden in the small lanes of Kampung Jawa. The seating’s upstairs and the stairs are a bit steep, so go slow. Came on Monday morning n quite many diners r already present. Plenty of tables. Have to queue n pay first while stating which table number to order the many choices available. However, in my case, many of the 'other' vendors hav yet to set up shop. I selected the Roti Sardin n yes, quite like this one. Soft n portion big though wished it was a bit more crispy. Father loved the plain roti canai while wife was able to finish-off her roti doll. We all loved the cekodok n lempeng kelapa. Drinks too was tasty. Service was fast but I was told weekend crowds r huge so I guess they're used to working fast. Parking is limited yet I recommend to come here to try their unique roti canai kayu arang n others.

Stopped by Roti Canai Kayu Arang to try out their Bird’s Nest Roti Canai with toppings, and I must say—it did not disappoint. I came alone, so I only had the chance to try one dish, but even that was enough to leave a lasting impression. The roti was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, shaped beautifully into a bird’s nest that looked as good as it tasted. The topping was savoury and flavourful, with just the right balance of spice and richness. The curry and sambal on the side were bold and perfectly matched the roti. The café atmosphere was also very relaxed and customer-friendly. Although I only sampled one dish during this solo visit, I’m confident the rest of the menu holds equally impressive gems. Overall? Excellent! Thumbs up!

If this is a first time you come to eat here, it will be overwhelming to you. They have their own system where you need to line up before you can grab a table. Then while you line up with your family members, do look around for their huge and long list of food and drinks. Then when its your turn to order, the cashier will ask how many people of your party and she will assign a table to you. But before you can sit, all your family members must order right there at the cashier. All food and drinks and paid there. Then you can go to your assign table and waiting for your food. Their nasi lemak come with kangkung, their nasi goreng kampung and nasi goreng daging also good. Nasi lemak ayam and soto not bad. Roti canai also good. There is stall selling ayam gunting which is also good and crispy. Tips : if you want to add order after you paid and sit, just go straight to cashier and tell the cashier. No need to que.

The place has both outdoor and indoor seating aread. It is lively with a rustic vibes. The menu is quite extensive with dishes and snacks for breakfast and lunch. My wife ordered a chicken chop set with toasted Hainaese bread. I opted for a plate of spaghetti Bolognese. Both dishes are tasty and above average. The service was good and prompt. Noodles and rice items are prepared in various styles. The place can fill up fast during lunchtime. The service is excellent, and food is brought in relatively fast in spite of the crowd. The food tastes great. Mee mamak can be spicy for some if they have sensitive tongue. A couple of vege options are there. There are plenty of toasts to supplement it. The payment can be done by cash or QR code. Parking during lunch time might be slightly challenging.

Foods average, pricing on the higher end. Small cup of traditional coffee costs RM4.

A place where you can get toast and heavy meals all day long. Air conditioned. Coffee is okay. Toast is okay. Ayam pongteh approved. Btw, i think the eggs can be served in the teacup as well for aesthetic value and to maximise the usage of the whole teacup set instead of using the saucers all the time. Keep it up!

Ok for toast and food quality, you cannot say it is excellent. It is just average. The tomato chicken rice (Ayam Masak Merah) is tasty, the source is a bit spicyand sour and it is just fine to me. But the size is just a bit small. Not recommend you to try milo dinosaur, it is a healthy one. The cinnamon toast is worthy to try, but the kaya toast is a bit disappointed. you should adjust your expectation and eat something, enjoy the environment. Overall, it is not bad.

Chinese noodle restaurant
Oriental Cafe is a small coffee shop that has preserved its traditional Kopitiam ambiance, featuring tiled flooring and half-tiled walls. The locals highly recommend trying the popiah and fishball noodles, also known as Hee Kiaw Mee, available in soup or soy-based sauce with various noodle options like kuey teow, bee hoon, or yellow noodles.
Every state in Malaysia has its own variant of Chinese dry/soup noodle, and the definitive one in Malacca has to be yee kiaw. It's really hard to point a finger at the greatest-influencing ingredient of yee kiaw's soup or sauce base, though if pressed, I will have to say it is more fishy than meaty, with a really mild hint of vinegary sourness. Even the chilli sauce is hot and sour, without any hint of sweetness. Being a Malacca boy, visiting my homestate again only once a year or so, I feel a great compunction to tuck in because I feel the Malacca version of soup/dry noodles is truly unique; can't find the same flavour anywhere else in Malaysia. This old shop still carries the decades-old flavours, and I liberally splash the chilli sauce onto my bowl (pic), though not everyone does it that way.

It is not easy to park your car over here before going into this hidden traditional Chinese coffee shop. Can see six to seven tables seated with local customers early morning around 7am. There are 2 food stalls, one with the fish ball noodles, the other is the pork lard popiah. Ordered fish ball noodle, Popiah and a cup of tea. Popiah is normal and so simple so good. Fish noodles is firm and rich with source flavours. Both foods work well together and made my day. Well do come over for those looking for simple and early breakfast.

Popiah and fish paste noodles are famous local delicacies here. It is hard to grab an empty seat early in the morning. Kue Tiau is a must try. The size of it is small. The texture is just super smooth and not salty. Char Siew is full of aromatic chacoal smell. Fish paste and beancurd are served in thick version. Traditional coffee shop is spacious yet looks bright and clean. Off on every Monday and Tuesday.

came here after seeing the Google reviews, but was disappointed. The fishball wasn’t fresh, the noodles were undercooked, and the sauce was quite ordinary. Tried the popiah as well — it was average, but the skin was too thick, which really affected the overall taste.

Access car parking behind the stall from jln Laksmana 11 on Waze or Google map.... you will park on the "centre courtyard" of a Chinese neighbourhood surrounded by houses. Picture of kopitiam backdoor in pic attached There is 2 stalls here. 1) Fish skin dumpling noodles 2) Poh pian stall The fish dumpling noodles are EXCELLENT. Old fashion tasting, simple and clean. Soup is tasty and clean tasting. Many locals opt for the dry version. But would encourage to have the beehoon soup *tip-ordersmall bowl & add extra ingredients* for less carbs and more goodness! The poh pian here is different from what you would get in Singapore. Old style, simple homemade. You will have fried eggs, pork lard pcs for the crunch👍🏻 And Prawn Paste!🤗(aka hay-ko). Ask for slight spicy to alleviate the taste It is also a nice dish to be shared among friends as appetiser before noodles come.

First time visit here for Fishball noodles and popiah, the portions is big and affordable price. Small one Rm7 and big one RM8. The popiah one is RM5. The parking must go from behind of shop since their shop at main road side.

A Simple Breakfast, A Quiet Reminder Some mornings feed more than hunger. . *Oriental* is one of the oldest kopitiams in Malacca. We locals go there not just for the food — but for the memories it holds. . That morning, we ordered two bowls of noodles — one dried, one kuey teow soup. Two rolls of popiah. Some drinks. The kind of order that feels ordinary — until it isn’t. . I asked my brother, “Why two popiah? We can barely finish one.” He grinned and said, “The hawker barely earns much. Might as well order more.” . Of course, it came with a price. We struggled to finish everything. Three of us, full to the brim — both stomach and heart. 。 The noodles no longer taste like childhood, but they’re still good. The popiah, though, is generous and fairly priced. . Then came a small moment that stayed with me. When we asked for a glass of plain water (60cents) for our father, the kopitiam owner paused — then reached for the leftover coins (30cents) on our table. “That’s enough,” he said gently, when he realized it was for our dad. . It felt odd at first. But then, warm. Like the universe had noticed our small act, and decided to return it in the same quiet language. . To my future self: Keep giving, even when no one is watching. . To you: When was the last time kindness caught you off guard? . . JSE@20251101

Situated in the Jonker Street area along Jalan Hang Jebat, Geographer Café is a laid-back spot offering Malaysian pub eats like spring rolls and pizza. The café boasts a well-designed tropical-themed decor with outdoor seating for patrons to enjoy the cool night breeze. Known for its extensive selection of vegetarian and vegan-friendly dishes, it's highly recommended to try their Geographer Vegetarian Curry Rice.
Lovely place to people watch. Very good location. Drinks well priced for the area. Right on Jonker street. Sitting there from 6 to 7 it changes from a traffic jam to a market before your eyes. Good music played here, you like Cat Stevens era music.

My wife and I were so happy to see that this place was still there! The last time we sat down to have drinks there was back in 2016. Shout out to Mr Anthony (I think he’s the manager) and his crew. They were welcoming, fast and efficient with our orders. Shout out also to Mr Luke Suhaimi, resident guitarist and vocalist who churned out a wide repertoire of hits for us. A really great place to chill, sit back and relax. If you’re ever in Malacca, Jonker Walk, you must visit! You won’t regret it! 5 stars guys!

Quite disappointed my Alfredo had no "isi" like chicken, beef, salami, bacon, ham etc. Just plain noodles and gravy, for RM17 (before tax) is a bit much. The gravy was just too watery and tastes more like they poured too much milk into the mix. I hope they improve this during my next visit here. Overheard a waiter ask the table next to me "how is the wine?" When the customer had beer.

A Must-Visit Gem in the Heart of Jonker Walk! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Geographer Café is, without question, one of the brightest highlights of Jonker Walk and an essential stop every time I return to Malacca. Nestled in a beautifully preserved British-era heritage building, the café captures the soul of the city, historic charm on the outside, vibrant energy on the inside. The warm lighting, rustic walls, and nostalgic décor make it the perfect place to unwind and watch the world drift by on this iconic street. The menu never disappoints, great food with rich flavors, a fantastic range of drinks, and an impressive liquor selection that keeps the night alive. Whether you’re here for a casual meal, a fun night out, or just to sip something chilled while soaking up the atmosphere, you’ll find exactly what you need. The live band adds a wonderful touch, filling the café with good vibes and a lively rhythm that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. With its prime location, amazing ambiance, friendly service, and unforgettable atmosphere, Geographer Café is a place that keeps calling you back. Highly recommended for tourists and locals alike this is Jonker Walk at its absolute best. 🌟

I grew up eating tempeh since I was little, so I know that the tempeh you served us wasn’t fresh anymore. Pizza and satay was great, but not with the organic tempeh and their signature curry.

Authentic local flavours with gluten-free menu! Some dishes listed on their gluten-free menu actually contain gluten (e.g. light soy sauce is used on satay and fried rice). The servers are knowledgeable and very helpful in pointing out which dishes are not truly gluten-free. We loved the nasi lemak, lontong and curry vermicelli!

Jonker 88 is a renowned dining spot in Melaka, situated on the lively Jonker Street. It's celebrated for serving traditional Peranakan delicacies such as Nyonya Laksa and Baba Laksa, along with an assortment of cendol, including the popular durian cendol. This eatery is a favorite among locals and tourists alike who seek authentic local cuisine in a bustling historical setting.
Stopped by for a bowl of cendol after a hot day walking around jonker. Managed to snag seats right at the storefront with fans blasting on our backs. Order at the counter, ~RM7 per bowl. Each bowl that came out looked consistent. Nice cendol!

I had to deliberate a fair bit before deciding on a rating here as I had two completely different opinions on the two food items I tried here: Nyonya Asam Laksa and Baba Cendol. The Nyonya Asam Laksa was great, it was really tasty and the sourness was just nice. The standard still remained equally good compared to ten over years back when I first tried it. However, the Cendol was a huge disappointment. It had no fragrance from the coconut milk or gula melaka at all. The standard of this was a far cry from that of the past. Seats are limited so expect to queue during peak hours. Ordering and collection is done via self service. Prices are honestly quite steep for the portion and ambience here. Overall, I wouldn't make the effort to queue but I may still return for their asam laksa if there is no wait.
GG K — Google review
Taste: 3/5 (Overall rating, Chendol + Laksa) - 5/5 for Chendol itself Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Affordability: 5/5 Would I come back: Yes! It a self-service ordering system. Queue for seats and go to the counter to order & pickup your food. Probably the best Chendol I tried at Jonker Street. I tried a few places nearby(iykyk). Their gula melaka is so rich and thick and their green worms had a bite to it! The coconut milk was decent as well! Would come back and eat this again and try their Assam Laksa. I am not a fan of Laksa, to me their Laksa was too spicy, no lemak taste at all. And they did not use the thick beehoon but used thin beehoon itself, which I feel, does not go well with the Laksa. But their fried toppings were crispy and hot!

This is one famous shop in Jonkers. No matter what time you visit, there will always be a queue. They’re know for Laksa and their Ais Kachang. Since the queue was long that day, the staff asked whether we came for Laksa or Ais. Once we said Ais, we were immediately told to go inside as we were allowed to sit on the bench. If you opted for Laksa, you will get seated at a table. Chose to get the Ais Kachang Mangga to beat the heat that day. The dish consists of shaved ice, red bean, coconut jelly, corn, some syrup, and sliced mango. It was so refreshing!! The portion was also quite hefty & can easily be shared between 2 people.
Maharani — Google review
The restaurant is always packed whenever we visit. This time, we arrived around 6 p.m. and, thankfully, there was no queue — but our laksa turned out to be the last bowl of the day. It was a memorable meal, with everything being absolutely satisfying. We’ll definitely be back for more.

Perfect environment to eat and feel the authentic of Baba Nyonya Asam Laksa Kahwin. Pretty damn good food i should say!! Worth the money. Just one thing, if they could add more fans so that we could get some breathe from the heat. Alsooo.. do not miss the taste of baba ais kacang. So good lei. Sedapp nak mampuiihhh!

Food = 2 / 3 stars Service & Ambience = 0.5 / 1 star Value = 0.5 / 1 star We came here before many years ago. A man welcomed us in, and mentioned that it's last order. According to the sign inside the shop, they are open until 6:30pm, but seems like that was extended, at least for today, or the sign was outdated. I ordered cendol (RM7), while my wife ordered asam laksa with fried fu chuk (RM15). Cendol was OK, but asam laksa not so nice. Spicy but not fragrant. The fried fu chuk was good. There is not much service to talk about, since it's mostly self-service. Place order at the counter, and bring the food to tables by ourselves too. Prices too expensive for the quality of the food presented. 3 stars.
Alshane — Google review
Don't come to this place. I ordered the chendol ice kacang and for a RM7 small bowl with red beans that I could actually count it was very expensive. Asked for extra bowl as I want to share the lady said no bowl. Asked for extra spoon and she looked annoyed. This place is tourist trap with lousy service and bad food.

Kedai Kopi Chung Wah is a must-visit spot in Melaka, known for its innovative Chicken Rice Balls, a delightful variation of the traditional Hainanese chicken rice. Situated on Jonker Street, this eatery attracts both locals and tourists seeking to savor a staple of Melakan cuisine in a vibrant and historic setting.
This is the famous chicken rice ball shop in melaka. According to the local here, this is one of the longer history and more real chicken rice ball. We came here around 11.30 am and wait for around 10 min to enter the shop. I recommended the shop owner can put a temporary shelter outside, so that the customer wait outside the shop at least have some place to hide under the super hot sun. The chicken rice ball is just a chicken rice make into a ball size. The chicken taste is nice and recommended you to try. 4 of us have half chicken and 3 plates of chicken rice ball. With 2 cup of batley. Cost us around RM 40+
William T — Google review
They have prime location, at the entrance of Jonker Street but that's really it. Chicken was tender and not fat-laden but taste was underwhelming (they got only boiled chicken, no roasted). The rice balls were pretty solid, you could go for 5s instead of 10s each and be full. Rice balls were too powdery for my liking and again not much taste. Chilli sauce was too light and absolutely not spicy. Service crews were friendly and food & drinks were served quickly. If you visit because of Mark Wiens, watch his expression first after first bite, I'm warning you...
Pianized — Google review
Quite disappointed - the chicken rice balls were not tasty and is not springy. The chicken is nicely steamed, quite tender. The portion is decent for 17.50rm for one pax. Place is decent, no queue on a Monday afternoon.
Han L — Google review
I would rate the chicken and rice ball as average. Whether it is because my taste bud has become more picky in terms of food expectation or the standard had indeed dropped, the quality is nothing to shout at. I ate it for novelty sake because while the place is crowded, there are seats when we walked in. Perhaps worth to try if you have not tried chicken rice ball.
GL — Google review
Don’t know what’s the hype over this chicken rice ball place. Managed to try after 3 attempts as they closed as early as near 2pm. To play safe, better reach before 1pm. Rice ball is indeed soft but not that fragrant. Chicken itself is pretty smooth and soft but definitely not one of the best I had. Only serve light soya sauce upon request else only goes with their chicken rice chilli. Homemade drinks very average. Entire place very authentic kind of eating place that have been managed for decades. Once seated, will ask you to order which set menu depending on your number of pax. Ask but not suggest. Everything is served quickly, if you are hungry this is the place. Overall, my pov I preferred the one across the street.
TNJ L — Google review
The flavour of the chicken and rice balls are not as good as before. The rice balls weren't that fragrant and taste bland, the chicken not that tender compared to few years back. Maybe our taste bud became more picky after trying a few other chicken rice balls restaurants in Melaka. Open on Thursday to Sunday only, often long queue outside under the hot sun and sold out around 12pm+
Avelynn — Google review
The chicken was rather dry and rice ball not much flavour and feels dry too. Not the best that I’ve tasted, will pass. I ordered half chicken good for 2-4ppl at 30rm. The price is ok so generous amount. Rice ball is separate order at 2.50rm per plate (5pcs).
Scarlett — Google review
Kedai Kopi Chung Wah is one of Malacca’s most famous stops for chicken rice balls, drawing long queues of tourists from morning till afternoon. It has that old-school charm and heritage aura that makes it feel like a must-visit at least once. The chicken itself is tender and flavourful enough, the rice balls are passable, and the overall meal is pleasant in a simple, familiar way. That said, the hype often exceeds the experience. The food tastes okay — certainly not bad — but probably not worth the long wait if you’re short on time or patience. It’s a classic tourist stop rather than a life-changing discovery, but if you’re already nearby and the queue is manageable, it’s still a decent, nostalgic bite of Malaccan history.

Bica & Co Courtyard Cafe is a delightful lifestyle destination situated on the first floor of the Rosa Malacca Hotel, where elegance meets comfort. This Halal-certified cafe boasts an Instagram-worthy ambiance that invites guests to indulge in a diverse buffet featuring Western, fusion, and local dishes. The chic design combines rustic industrial elements with large glass walls that allow natural light to pour in during the day, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. As evening falls, carefully curated lighting adds to its cozy charm.
Great food, mostly Italian fare though. Had the spaghetti aglio olio which was spot on exactly what I'd expect in a legit Italian restaurant. The mushroom soup was great. Not from the can like I've had in other restaurants. The spaghetti malaka was a great fusion of a light bechemel and sambal. Even the garlic bread was exactly as I would have had at a high end restaurant. The home made sodas were refreshing. Service was great, very attentive staff.

Worth every bite, big flavours, great vibes and food that's finger licking good.. We've tried 3 dishes that were too tempting to resist.. Smoked Chicken Spaghetti and Beef Steak Sandwich with Avocado Spread and Bread Butter Pudding.. The spaghetti hits all the right notes.. Smoky, tangy, slightly spicy, and loaded with flavour. A real comfort dish done right. The Beef Steak Sandwich? Absolutely finger-licking good. Tender sous vide steak, melty cheese, creamy avocado, sunny-side egg, and caramelized onions packed into crispy ciabatta, with golden wedges on the side. Pure satisfaction. How about our dessert? Guys.. let me tell you.. The Bread Butter Pudding was absolutely scrumptious. Its soft, warm, and just the right amount of sweetness. Comfort in every spoonful. Delicious!! The service was spot-on, the waiter was friendly and attentive throughout.

The taste is good overall, very well crafted. We are satisfied with the recommendation from the service crew for the dessert instead of ready-made cake in display fridge, and accept with customised message for Happy Birthday with name!! The aircon is good 😊 and environment is comfortable. Good place for romantic dinner as well.

The food was decent, though it took a while to arrive. That said, I really appreciated how quiet and peaceful the café was—perfect for a relaxed meal or catch-up. If you’re not great with spicy food, a heads-up: the Whoppsie Messy Spicy Chicken might be a bit much! I was thankful they could remove the cheese and cheese sauce upon request, as I don’t take cheese. Tried the grilled beef steak too—it was alright, though slightly on the tough side.

Backlane Coffee is a charming café nestled in the back lane of Jonker Street, offering a cozy atmosphere with exposed brick walls and rustic décor. Patrons can savor a variety of coffee and espresso options along with delectable cakes and pastries. Noteworthy items on their menu include the Mr Owl Iced Latte, featuring owl-shaped coffee ice cubes, and the White Surprise, a white chocolate mousse cake shaped like a Twiggie.
One of many cafes I visited while in Malacca is this cafe! This cafe is located quite hidden in the back of some clothes / souvenirs shops. I ordered a Dirty Coffee and Tornado Fries for coffee break. The The Dirty Coffee was OK, but the Tornado Fries were so good! I like the crispiness of those potato fries and the truffle dipping sauce! The ambience of the cafe is so relaxing and not too crowded. The services also a top notch. It is a nice place to chill.

We finally got to try their coffee. Unfortunately, the beautiful “owl coffee”wasn’t available at that time. We tried the latte and mocha (with ice cream). The coffee had an excellent aftertaste, and the sweetness of the mocha was acceptable. Their pastry choices might be limited. I love cakes or pastries with a lot of cream and runny drizzles, but unfortunately, those weren’t available here. The surrounding area is cozy and has plenty of seating. toilet is available.

Located in the vibrant Jonker Street, Mamee Jonker House is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The bright yellow buildings adorned with prominent Mamee signage make it hard to miss. This family-friendly establishment offers various attractions such as a cafe, a small museum, and a souvenir corner where visitors can purchase Mamee-themed handicrafts. One of the highlights is the opportunity to customize your own Mamee cup noodles in their kitchen.
Today, I took my children, nieces, and nephews to the shop and had a great time. Each cup costs RM15, and you have to pay for one adult and one child (above 5 years old). The process is fun—you get to choose your flavor, pick four toppings, and watch them pack it fresh in front of you. Overall, it was a good experience, though by the end, it did feel a bit pricey. But since it’s a one-time experience and only available in Melaka, it was worth trying. I especially liked the coloring part, as they provide good quality markers 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 One downside, though—their kitchen is under renovation, so there was no hot water available to try our mamee cup on the spot. I mean, it’s just hot water, and they couldn’t provide it, which was a bit disappointing. That’s definitely a minus point for the service.

Brought the kids here as my son heard about it from a friend. I was interested to find out what the place had to offer,of course. It is a neat place along Jonker Walk/Jalan Hang Jebat that houses many different snacks/tidbits. Great place to take photos of your kids roaming around as well. There is a section dedicated to Mamee cup decorating at a fee but I decided to pass on that due to time constraints. There is an in-house cafe as well. Managed to buy Mamee keychains/fridge magnets etc as they are hard to find elsewhere. Families with young kids, you can definitely consider swinging by this place if you've not done so before.

Plenty of Mamee products sold here. But i think can get cheaper price at the local supermarket. The DIY cup noodle is RM15/cup. If you buy for your child only, you cannot accompany them when they are decorating the cup. Can join them during the packaging process afterwards. Great fun experience for my daughter.

When Henry Golding appeared on LADbible’s Snack Wars, it didn’t take long before something deeply familiar appeared on screen: the unmistakable blue packet of Mamee Monster noodles. The moment he tore it open, crushed the contents in his hands, sprinkled the seasoning, and ate it straight from the pack—like every Malaysian kid instinctively knows how to—I smiled. “These are amazing,” he said, eyes lighting up. And just like that, it wasn’t just Henry on screen anymore. It was all of us. Growing up in the 80s and early 90s, Mamee was the cheapest snack around—just 5 sen. No fancy flavours, no extra powder. Just crispy instant noodles, straight from the packet. And that was all it needed to be. When everything else felt out of reach, that little blue packet gave me something small but meaningful: a sense of belonging. With just a coin in my pocket, I could sit with my friends, break off bits of noodles, share a laugh, and feel like I was part of the moment. Decades later, I found myself at Mamee Jonker House, tucked into Melaka’s iconic Jonker Street—a place bursting with nostalgia, colour, and creativity. It’s part museum, part café, part joyful playground. And right at the heart of it is Noodle Doodle—a space where you can decorate your own Mamee cup noodles. That day, I went with my mum. We decided to make a cup for my niece, who was still a little too young to do it herself. Now, my mum isn’t the artsy type. She doesn’t spend her time drawing or crafting—but she absolutely loves her granddaughter. And that was enough to get her sitting down, pen in hand, determined to make something meaningful. We took a blank noodle cup, picked up the colourful markers, and gave it our best shot. I doodled a cheerful Mamee Monster, and my mum added a slightly wonky heart. We laughed, teased each other about our drawing skills, and wrote a simple message on the cup to make it hers. Once we were done decorating, we handed it over to be filled. We picked her flavours and toppings—corn, cabbage, a little bit of chilli for fun. The staff packed it with real noodles, sealed the lid, and shrink-wrapped it like an actual store-bought product. A complete, edible souvenir—made with love. Before we left, we wandered into the merchandise section, which was filled with exclusive Mamee Monster-themed goodies—plushies, capes, mugs, stationery, and more. That’s when we decided to customise something special: a white t-shirt featuring Mamee Monster and her name, printed across the front. It was a small touch, but it felt meaningful. The decorated cup and that little t-shirt are now kept safe—reminders of one playful afternoon spent between generations, doing something simple and thoughtful. My niece is turning four this month, and hopefully by next year, she’ll be sitting at that same Noodle Doodle table, markers in hand, making her own memories. That’s what Mamee Jonker House does so well. It turns something familiar—something as ordinary as a noodle snack—into a gateway to the past and a space for new stories. It’s where nostalgia meets imagination, and love gets tucked inside a cup. Because sometimes, a snack is more than just a snack. It’s a thread that ties generations together - with laughter, colour, and care.

Fun experience for couples to draw and custom the mamee noodles cup for each other! Even if you are married, get a pair of cups and display at home for the memories. The video is so satisfying seeing the machine sealing your noodles in-place.

Heesan Kopi is a popular spot in Melaka known for its relaxing atmosphere, great food, and warm service. It's an Instagram-worthy cafe with art on the walls resembling the street arts found around Melaka city. The cafe offers freshly baked goods, an all-day breakfast menu, espresso-based brews, and inventive concoctions like burnt latte caramel.
The environment is relaxing and traditional. You can take many precious photos there. The food is delicious. We recommend the pizza as it is very crispy! Heesan chips are also one of the must-try options. The Chinese tea (Oolong) is great too!

Good place to have some rest. I ordered cafe latte with ice cream, and I do love it. The coffee has rich aroma and is so tasty. Also the combination with vanilla ice cream is so nice. I like the atmosphere of the cafe, too. They sell cite goodies like mag cups. You can visit them only for shopping, I think.

Stopped by for a quick break while exploring Jonker street. The staff were nice and the place was very clean. The iced latte was refreshing and the pizza hit the spot. Worth a visit!

Wanted to try a new coffee spot on a Friday and stumbled upon Heesan Kopi. I was pleasantly surprised to find it spacious, airy, and quiet — with no queue at all! The vibe is super chilled, and there’s plenty of room for strollers, which makes it a great place for parents with kids. The coffee? Absolutely awesome. Strong, fragrant, and full-bodied — totally worth it. Can't believe such a comfy and relaxing café isn’t more crowded. A hidden gem for sure. Will definitely be back!

Lovely airy spot Beautifully decorated. Someone definately placed a lot of heart here initially. Service is friendly and calm. The let down? The place could use some better meal choices for light meals.

Definitely an ig worthy place. Nice interior. Lots of handy craft on sale. But the food is really not worth a single star. Chance upon it as the cafe next door was fully packed didn’t wanna wait as it was lunch timing. Ice coffee is blend and does not have enough ice to even be called ice. Piccolo is served with a room temperature. Mushroom soup was pathetically diluted. With a thin slice of bread(biscotti kind of size). Not worth the RM13. Salty af carbonara, only passable thing was the croissant’s tater tots.

Nyonya restaurant
Breakfast restaurant
BESS Kopitiam is a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts, especially those craving authentic Malaysian flavors. Renowned for its award-winning Nyonya Laksa Melaka, this pork-free restaurant serves up a delightful bowl of curry soup that strikes the perfect balance in consistency. Packed with an array of ingredients like cockles, dried tofu, fish cake, and garnished with julienned cucumber and hard-boiled egg slices, each spoonful is elevated by their special sambal.
At first, I thought that the older a restaurant looked, the food always tastes better. This restaurant proved me wrong. The interior looks brand new, but their food are superb. The laksa were creamy and tasty, but the soup was not too thick, the consistency & flavor were perfect. The toast was the best i've tasted during our Malaysian trip. It's was a thick toast, a slight crispy on the outside, but still moist on the inside. Definitely not the dry type which has to be followed with a drink afterwards. The butter & kaya were hitting my spots in terms of the flavors & quantity. The restaurant can be hot during sunny day, because it's open and there's no air-condition. Lucky it was rainy, so the weather was just right.
Karina A — Google review
My cousin brought me here, and my late uncle always said this place had the best Nyonya food. I heard this Peranakan food comes from Sumatra. It's a bit outside the city, but parking was easy, which was great. The food came out pretty fast after we ordered. I got the nasi lemak with an egg. The rice was so good and flavorful, and the sambal belacan gave it a nice kick. I also got cendol, but it could use more gula melaka. You should totally try this place, both if you live here or are just visiting. Get there early if you want a good seat. Hey, it'd be great if the owner could get some toilet paper in the bathroom, you know?
BC M — Google review
Had late lunch here. Tried their mee Siam. They served it with sauce so it’s the wet version. Would prefer it to be more sour taste. Overall taste ok. France toast was good. Nyonya curry reasoned with good amount of santan but the kerang are so tiny and hardly taste it. I prefer curry mee with some meat, maybe chicken instead of only fish paste slices. Sea coconut drink not too sweet so I liked it. Cendol is good too. Nothing really stands out for me so it’s just reasonable good only.
Chin Y — Google review
This is just like average kopitiam where you can find at every corner of market. But the pricing of beverage price is at least 50% higher as compared to local kopitiam due to the portion/bigger glass. Curry laksa is good/lemak and price at Rm9.50 which is fine. The cheese toast at Rm4.50 looks not appetising. The place looks dirty in my opinion, perhaps due to cemented floor. I wouldnt recommend as place to get local foods for breakfast.
CP G — Google review
One of the very popular kopitiam in Melaka. The place is very clean, spacious and well set up. Good crowds and good vibes. The signature kari laksa here is superb. Its beehun is also not bad. Kopi C is so so only. Staffs are very friendly and polite. A great kopitiam, highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It's in a new township. Free parking and because we were there on a weekday loads of parking. Nice set up. Service was fast. Airy place. We had nyonya laksa. Nice and thick and flavourful. Mee siam was mediocre. The black coffee was lovely.

Great little place right next door to our hotel. Went there for breakfast and had the vegi Nasi Lemak, delicious. Had the lemon honey tea as well, which was good. My husband had the smoothie bowl, which he liked. Someone else had the chicken rendang plate. They both highly rated the coffee ( cappuccino). Big menu, comfortable atmosphere and good service

A café located at Melaka Raya. Foods there are quite nice actually. What makes it special is that when you order the "Mains", you will get to choose 2 side dishes, which other restaurants doesn't let you to. You can choose from the normal fries and wedges, salad, to rice. Prices are same as most café. Atmosphere is quite relaxing. Staffs are friendly as well. Overall, a nice place to come and eat.

Came for breakfast on our last day in Melaka, near our Airbnb 1. Char kway teow tasted good, abit spicy but quite a lot of ingredients 2. Baked rice seafood: didn’t really hit the spot. Very normal 3. Chicky bun: didn’t try but looks good 4. Kids meal: nothing much to comment, processed food for kids Overall a nice place with good environment for breakfast.
CK W — Google review
Nice cosy little cafe, I think it is suitable for people who wanna read or work. Food wise, it is cafe food so if you wanna try more of melacca local flavours, this is not quite the place. Though you can find char kuay teow here and that's pretty much it. I find the food generally is average but decent. The kids meal was rather sad looking so I think it is probably more for very young kiddos with little appetite.
Sparklin77 — Google review
visited this restaurant at Melaka Raya recently and unfortunately, it was quite a disappointing experience. The grilled chicken was overcooked and partially burnt, which gave it a bitter taste and made it hard to enjoy. To make things worse, the utensils provided were incomplete — only knives were given, with no forks or spoons in sight. I had to request them separately, which shouldn’t happen in a dine-in setting. The service was also below expectations. Staff were inattentive and seemed uninterested in assisting customers. There was no greeting, no smile, and no apology for the missing items or poorly prepared food. For the price paid, I expected much better quality and service. Sadly, I won’t be returning or recommending this place to others unless major improvements are made.

Really really love the ambience.. i sat on the corner near the bookshelf.. it so instagrammable, the light, the set, the music, all is perfect 👍👍👍 For the food almost all is delicious, except the nasi lemak.. sorry but the rice too soft (lembek) for us. The other is good. I love the fried konjac and the toast 👍 So many option. Ill be back if go to melacca again.

At Dim Sum Garden, you can indulge in a wide variety of traditional dim sum dishes served from steaming trolleys. The menu includes popular items like Char Siew buns, Siew Mai, and Chee Cheong Fun with prawn or char siew fillings. While there are no vegetarian options available, the restaurant offers a good range of both fried and steamed dim sum that is tasty and reasonably priced.
High quality dim sum! Good and attentive service with Old school dim sum style where they will bring you whatever is available and you pick the dishes off the steam tray. You will need to bring your attention to the wait staff if you want a second helping. Very crowded on weekends and very family friendly place. Highly recommend.

Went for Sunday breakfast around 8.30am. able to get seats when we reached, ample parking lots right in front of the shop. Good service with friendly staff. Didn't order a lot since there's only 2 of us. Highlight of our meal was the fried carrot/radish cake.
Bryan Y — Google review
The restaurant is surprisingly quiet, maybe it's Monday. Few dishes worth trying - fried carrot cake, century egg porridge, yong tau foo, fried beancurd roll. The chee cheong fun which was highly rated is not up to our liking. The cheese dumpling & jade siew mai were both a disappointment. Overall experience is good as the place is clean & the lady boss is friendly. Very clean and efficient restaurant. Service was good and fast. They have a great variety of offerings. Heavy on pork but adequate other choices. Their jasmine tea was quite good with a light touch of jasmine unlike other places which a quite heavy with artificial jasmine smell. Very reasonably priced. Will visit again with family to try other items on the menu.

Good refreshing breakfast. Downside is fried carrot cake looks overnight. And custard bun not flowing lava type. Most food not piping hot. But overall still not bad la. Biz is picking up. Keep it up.
Jason E — Google review
Good range of fried and steam dimsums available. Dimsums are tasty and staff would bring trays of piping hot dimsums to your table to be selected. Family loves the century egg dumpling, beancurd skin rolls, Portuguese egg tarts, Nonya dumpling (authentic, traditional taste) and the almond jelly dessert. We’re definitely spoilt for choice and pricing is fair for this quality of dimsum. They are opened till 2pm.
Crystal A — Google review
This restaurant closes latest among all dim sum outlets in melaka. Most closed about one-ish. The food is ok, the dimsum is only preheated, probably made earlier. However, the cooked stuff like lobak cake and porridge is not bad. We like the loh mai kai and chee chrong fun best. The rest are soso as mentioned earlier, could have been just preheated. Not pricey and not many customers too 😄😄😄 Maybe its a weekday and quite late when we reached around 3 pm. Thats how i know it closes the latest 😂😂😂

Cozy little coffee shop tucked away in a street with bars and pubs. They served really good coffee! Tried the ondeh ondeh cheesecake, its different and actually good. Very lovely space, a quiet respite from the malacca heat. Cosy & homely space helmed by a dedicated and warm owner. Tiramisu was delicious and home made! coffee was strong and matcha was authentic. The affectionate munchkin cat 🐱 was definitely the highlight, cosied up to us and was such a delight. Definitely highly recommend you to stop by here for a delicious drink break / cat therapy / or to simply enjoy the slower pace in life.

Found this really chill café with amazing coffee. Tried the homemade tiramisù — soft, moist, and absolutely delicious. We also ordered the kaya toast bread - the kaya was also homemade. The owner was super friendly, and we had a great chat. Plus, there’s an adorable orange munchkin who’s so cute and affectionate. The whole place has such a cozy, relaxed vibe — definitely coming back again. Coffee and cats - cant go wrong with this mix.

Visiting from 🇸🇬 to this cozy little café with the sweetest munchkin cat welcoming guests! ☕🐈 Had their coffee, homemade tiramisu, and toast (with homemade kaya) — simple yet satisfying. The tiramisu was light and creamy, and the coffee paired perfectly with it. A lovely spot to slow down and enjoy some quiet moments (and cat company!). Nothing fancy, just the kind of comfort that warms both the heart and the stomach, and the connection with the owner and his cat. A perfect spot for a slow afternoon :)

Love the food and service here! The place is small but somehow it feels so homey. Ordered orange americano and hojicha latte for the drinks and they both taste so goood. For the food we order kaya toast and matcha cheesecake, it tastes beyond our expectation. Their kaya toast is my favorite!

Finally a place in Melaka where the Cappuccino tastes of real coffee and a mean Tiramisu that is drenched in whisky?? and which leaves no room for doubt. Cafe extremism at its finest - for those who can accept nothing less; this is the definitive cafe experience. For a cold drink, the shakerato makes a sense-tingling pleasant alternative.

A really hidden gem in the heart of Melaka town. The food is so delicious and feels like homemade being made with mother’s love. One in a kind restaurant. Recommended to come super early in the morning around 7.30am

Pros 1. Friendly staffs 2. Tasty sardine roll & cucur ikan bilis. 3. Beautiful antiques Cons 1. Parking was a big issue to go to the cafe. 2. Melaka Nyonya Laksa tastes too turmeric. 3. Most food was not hot/warm. Overall, I wouldn’t go here again. Everything was just average, nothing special other than the antiques.

Finally managed to come here. With new location. I crave for soto. We ordered soto nasi and nyonya laksa. Soto nasi is good 7.8/10. Literally good soto taste in Melaka. Love it. Nyonya laksa so goood. Got cucur bilis taste like home cooking. Overall experience here so good. Feels like eating at home. Staff here friendly and good too. Spaces quite limited, need to come early. Recommended people to come and try food here 😇

Honest review: Pros- It’s easy to walk to if you’re staying anywhere at the river area. Nice antique surrounding and items for a historical city. Everything on the menu is quite cheap compared to surrounding cafes. Cons- Kuah laksa and lontong are soo diluted. Lontong’s gravy is served COLD. Nasi impit is mushy. Ayam goreng so small for rm5. Teh tarik tastes like 3 in 1. Soto is however decent.

Cool antique shop that have breakfast menus around Jonker Walk area. Food like mom cooks at home. Cozy. If u want to look and buy cool vintage items also available here. Limited tables as the shop lot is small but very nicely arranged. They have an old-schooled sewing machine turned into a table facing the road for 2.

This should be one of the go-to place for breakfast in Melaka! Clean. Price is good. Short waiting time. Yay! Food is good. I recommend the soto. 🤓 I wish there was kuih but what they are serving is adequate. Good enough for breakfast. :) We topped up our roti bakar and half boiled eggs. 🤗 Be there early if you want better chance at getting tables. I was there on a Sunday morning before 10am. Parking is by the roadside. You’ll get one near the shop if you are lucky. If you go by foot, then you’ll not worry about parking. 😅 Premise is small and jam packed with antiques. Love them all. Brought my mum along and she did use some of the items before. The cabinet right behind us had hair creams and face creams (still in its original plastic!). Woot woot! They are not kidding about the word antique in their shop name. That’s for sure.

I tried the laksa. It’s a must try here. Pro tip ask them to mix both small and big noodles. I kind of like it that way. Ofcourse the interior is so well done. Gives a vintage look to the place.

Tengkera Duck Noodles is a beloved gem in Malacca's vibrant street food scene, renowned for its mouthwatering crispy duck drumstick noodles. This signature dish features tender rice vermicelli paired with a rich, flavorful gravy and garnished with zesty herbs that elevate the experience.
Very nice duck noodles, plenty of parking space and they serve the food quite fast. I ordered the duck leg but they unfortunately ran out of stock for that moment, had.to settle with duck breast meat instead.

My family and I were disappointed last Friday cause it was closed. This morning, as early as 7am, I was excited to see it finally opened for business. No hassle to find roadside parking in front of the shop, and I could see already some customers having breakfast in it. This duck noodle eatery is run by couple and the setting is spacious and clean. Menu listed both duck and pork noodle/rice may be served dry or in soup. We could add on duck feet, duck wing, braised egg and bean curd. Noodles and braised ducks portion are generous, broth is rich and aromatic blended with flavourful herbs and spices. Soon ended and left with satisfaction, empty plate. Thumbs up and definitely a choice for those who looking for local twist.
Sheah W — Google review
Run by a couple and sons, seems to be 🤣 the broth is supposedly herbal and surprisingly, it’s good. The hor fun is smooth and the duck slices are noticeably too little. Lots of spring onion added, and if you are not a big fan, can ask to reduce them while ordering at the stall. The side dishes ordered are braised tofu and 🥚, nice. Some wait required as only the main is cooking and with quite a crowd, be patient. 😉 great meal to start the morning. 🌅

Visit date: 19 Oct 2025 Actual rating: 3.5 Supposedly one of the popular makan places (for tourists?! 🤔) to visit in Melaka... While the duck meat was flattened and chopped into bits, the meat didn't taste as tender as expected! Everything was salty, especially the noodles doused in their braised gravy :( The taukwa was good though; so was the hard boiled egg. All in, a decent meal for a first timer. But not really worth the 20 minute wait; thus a return visit is unlikely.

If you’re in Melaka and looking to try something truly local and unique, Tengkera Duck Noodle is a must-visit. This humble eatery, nestled in the Tengkera area, is known for its deliciously rich duck noodle soup, drawing locals and travelers alike for decades. Ambiance and Setting The setting at Tengkera Duck Noodle is simple and unpretentious, with a classic kopitiam vibe. It’s an old-school, no-frills spot where you’re more focused on the food than on ambiance. The seating is straightforward, with plastic tables and chairs that give a true hawker-style feel. The whole atmosphere is authentic, casual, and welcoming, giving you a real taste of local dining culture. Food and Specialties The star of the menu is, of course, the duck noodles. You can order it with different types of noodles, including mee, mee hoon (vermicelli), and kway teow (flat rice noodles). The broth is rich and flavorful, slowly simmered with a mix of herbs and spices that give it a deep, savory taste with a hint of herbal notes. The duck meat is tender, slightly fatty, and falls off the bone easily, making each bite satisfying and flavorful. For those who prefer a dry version, they offer a “dry” duck noodle, where the noodles are tossed in a flavorful soy-based sauce and served with the duck on the side. It’s equally delicious and allows you to taste the natural flavors of the noodles and duck. The noodles are usually topped with spring onions, crispy shallots, and a sprinkle of fried garlic, which adds a nice crunch and aroma. They also serve sides like braised tofu, duck eggs, and even gizzard, which pair wonderfully with the noodles and add a variety of textures to the meal. For spice lovers, a small side of sambal chili is served, adding a kick to the already flavorful dish. Service Since this is a classic hawker-style setup, the service is straightforward and efficient. Orders are taken quickly, and the food arrives in a timely manner. The staff, though often busy, are friendly and helpful, especially if you’re new to duck noodles or need some recommendations. Pricing The prices here are very reasonable, especially considering the rich flavors and quality of the food. A bowl of duck noodles is affordably priced, making it accessible to everyone and a great value for such a satisfying meal. Overall Experience Tengkera Duck Noodle is a place where food speaks louder than any fancy decor or modern plating. It’s an authentic taste of Melaka and a must-try for anyone visiting the city. The hearty flavors of the duck broth and tender meat make this a memorable and comforting meal. If you’re in Melaka, be sure to make a stop here—you won’t be disappointed!

Nestled across from the Kampung Kling Mosque in Malacca, Limau Limau Cafe is a charming spot adorned with an eclectic mix of decor, including vintage photo frames, artwork, and books. The cafe's cozy ambiance offers a welcome respite from Malaysia's hot weather. Guests can savor refreshing exotic fruit juices and indulge in a healthy breakfast menu featuring wholemeal sandwiches and artisan breads.
Our favorite place to hang out for coffee and tea. We ordered their signature Gula Melaka latte. Egg tart are tarste good as well. The owner is very kind and outspoken lady. She is able to provide good tips about Jonker street.

Limau-Limau absolutely changed our frequency! We had smoked salmon panini (smoked salmon and focaccia are homemade btw) and kombucha with a kick of tequila, what about that huh?! Had a good time hanging around with Sam and other customers. Such a chill vibe! Definitely a must visit place when in Melaka!

Such a lovely hidden gem right in the middle of the hectic Jonker Street! It’s tucked away just enough to escape the crowds, perfect for a relaxing break. The food was amazing, and both the coffee and gelato were top-notch! The owner was so friendly and it really made our day with her great service. This place has such a charming, classic vibe. Make sure to come visit whenever you’re around, its definitely worth a visit. We absolutely loved it! Thank you Samantha 😍 ♎️

An amazing local owner with sooo much charisma and passion for good and Malaysia. One of my favourite places to go to. The restaurant is in a 350 year old building in the historic area of melaka. The owner a well travelled individual offers traditional iaian cuisine along with a Malay twist. The desserts, sandwiches and pasta is DELICIOUS! My first time trying a chicken lasagna and boy I was not disappointed!!!! The traditional Italian dessert I took to go but unfortunately I took a detour or several.... And it tipped over before it got to the fridge but even 2 days after it was just as fresh as the day I got it. The second floor is newly renovated with quiet area looking out. Just a block away from the night market A must experience in melaka

Had the best mango gelato, lasagna, and coffee— everything hit just right! We ended up chatting with the capricorn 😉 and had such a fun conversation about life. The second level has so much potential too — can already see it becoming such a cozy spot. Definitely our new favourite café to visit every time we’re back in Melaka! xoxo gemini

Beyond expectation- this is more than a cafe, it is a place to connect to local community, the owner is so friendly and full of energy, she really made my day and because of her, I already want to come back to Malacca and visit the cafe again. Of course food is awesome too, especially the airy fluffy egg tarts and well seasoned avocado. Highly recommend if you hope to meet local cafe owner, hear story and have a nice chat while enjoy hearty food😋

Food was lovely, tasted authentic. Portion was fair and owner was nice too. Coffee was not the best but decent. However, PLEASE beware of pricing. There was a lack of price transparency from the owner. I got charged RM16, for half an avocado. Insane.

Cofeology Cafe & Restaurant is a unique and popular spot in Malacca, offering a relaxed hipster atmosphere that attracts many young customers. The owner, a certified professional barista, ensures that the coffee served here is top-notch. The menu features a variety of options including spaghetti, sandwiches, burgers, waffles, cakes, chicken chop, and lamb chop.
Visited Cofeology Melaka and I can say the experience was really enjoyable. The café has a cozy yet modern vibe, perfect for hanging out with friends or just spending some me-time. Their menu is quite impressive with a mix of coffee, cakes, and hearty meals to choose from. I tried their food and drinks – everything was well-prepared, flavorful, and beautifully served. Staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole visit even better. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and the ambience is comfortable enough to stay for hours. Definitely a place worth visiting when in Melaka, and for sure I’ll come back soon!

First time trying this place. Tried their waffles and fish and chips. Also tried their cold chocolate and tiramisu drink. The waffles are good, crispy on edges and fluffy overall. The fish and chip is okay, but they used sweet potatoes for the chips and it wasn’t good and was hard. The drinks are not that good and overpriced for the portion. Service is fair and environment is nice.

It’s been a while since my last visit, and I was really looking forward to dining here again. However, I was quite disappointed with my recent experience. I ordered the Pandan Gula Melaka Cake and Egg Tart for dessert, but unfortunately, both items did not meet my expectations. The cake’s texture was rather hard and dry, as though it might have been on display for some time. I also noticed that shortly after my order was served, the remaining cakes were taken back into the kitchen, which made me wonder if there were freshness issues. As for the egg tart, the pastry was a bit too hard and lacked the light, flaky texture I usually enjoy. As someone who really loves egg tarts, this was quite disappointing. I truly appreciate the restaurant’s effort and warm service, and I hope this feedback can help improve the quality of your desserts. I’ve always enjoyed visiting this place, and I would love to continue coming back in the future.

The atmosphere is amazing but there's a lack in the menu. The menu is a file instead of a normal website?... and im pretty sure they use Ai for the photos on the menu since it doesn't look accurate to what I ordered. Supposedly, should use real photos so customers will be satisfied. There's also little options for non-coffee drinks. Even so, food is average, it's plated nicely, everything is clean and pleasing to look at. (I added 2 screenshots from the menu, please ignore the fact that it's blurry.....I ordered the katsudon Buttermilk and in the photos it looked like those chicken popcorn bites and even in the description it said it was "crispy" but what arrived was a grilled chicken?......plus in the nasi lemak photo, you can clearly see its Ai generated, I hope to see some improvement in the future.)

Absolutely love this cafe! 💛 The food is delicious and freshly prepared — every dish tastes amazing and beautifully presented. The staff are super friendly, attentive, and always serve with a smile 😊. The atmosphere is cozy, clean, and relaxing — perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a peaceful meal. Definitely one of my favorite spots to unwind and enjoy good food with great vibes. Highly recommended! 🌟✨

I was genuinely excited to come back here, especially after having such a great experience last year. I even recommended this place to my friends, telling them how delicious the food was and how it used to be one of my favorites. Unfortunately, this visit turned out to be really disappointing. The food quality has dropped a lot. the taste was bland and nothing like how I remembered it. It didn’t meet my expectations at all. On top of that, the prices felt very overrated for what was served. I ordered potato fries, but what came out was sweet potatoes instead, so more not even crunchy but its mushy which was quite frustrating since that wasn’t what I asked for. Overall, it was an unsatisfying experience, both in terms of taste and value for money. I honestly hope the restaurant can improve and bring back the same quality they had before. Rating: 2/10

For me, the ambience is satisfactory. They provide card games if u want. Food wise, id say im dissapointed. roasted chicken(?) rm30 - portion is ok but tadte is bland.. the seasoning tak masuk sampai dalam so makan ayam xde rasa. blackpepper sauce is nice. matcha latte also nice.

Dine in Brownie bang with melted ice cream I wouldn’t recommend their brownies. The brownie is very hard, like chunky. beforehand already requested to reheat but received hard. I remember my first time, it was warm, easy to break and blend so well with ice cream. Now..The taste, brownie texture all gone. Tasted like very dense moist cake - hard version. Regret . Not worth for money. Not gonna order again..

This 5-star hotel features modern and spacious rooms with river views, as well as two pools and a gym. The hotel's attached shopping mall is perfect for relaxing after exploring the city or indulging in some retail therapy.
Swiss-Garden Hotel Melaka Review (3D2N Stay) ⭐ I had a 3 days 2 nights stay at Swiss-Garden Hotel Melaka, and overall it was a great experience. 🏞️ View & Location The hotel has a very nice concept with rooms facing Sungai Melaka. Both day and night views are beautiful in the day you can see the town, and at night the lighting and boat cruises passing by create a stunning scene. The location is also very strategic; Jonker Street is nearby. You can either take a Grab or even walk, as driving your own car in town can be stressful due to the parking problem. At night, you can also enjoy the river cruise along Sungai Melaka, which conveniently stops near the hotel. 🍽️ Breakfast The buffet breakfast is quite nice. So much variety and the highlight is definitely the curry laksa, which is really delicious and a must try. 🚗 Parking Parking is a bit challenging during school holidays since the car park gets crowded. Most of the time, you may need to park at level 7 or 8. The good thing is that parking is free of charge for hotel guests. 🏊 Facilities The hotel has a small water play area and swimming pool for families, which is perfect if you’re bringing kids. They also provide warm towels after swimming, which was a thoughtful touch. ✅ Overall Swiss-Garden Hotel Melaka is a comfortable and family-friendly place with beautiful river views, delicious curry laksa for breakfast, and a convenient location close to Jonker Street. The only downside is parking during peak season, but aside from that, it’s definitely worth staying.

Staying 3 day and 2 night here, the hotel located just near the river, and view from my hotel balcony is wonderful. The room Is spacious the bed is comfy, smell fresh. Toiletries like soap, shampoo and toothbrush provided. The room and toilet were very clean. The Aircond is centralised type realy cool and responsive to the controller. Hot shower also working well. The breakfast is great with many food choices available from western cuisine or local favourites like nasi lemak, and what I like so much is the coffee machine where I enjoy getting Coffee latte or cappuccino. I having wonderful time Staying here.

I stayed at the hotel from Thursday to Saturday and booked the King Premium Room with breakfast included. While the room was clean, it appeared rather dated, especially the bathroom and balcony. The hotel would benefit from improved maintenance. As for the breakfast, it was quite disappointing for a hotel of this size. The selection was very limited, and despite being in Melaka, there was only one local dish offered—Nyonya Laksa. It would have been nice to see more of Melaka’s signature cuisines. Overall, the food tasted very average. Although breakfast is available until 12pm, which is convenient, the spread is so limited that after two plates, there’s hardly anything left to try. However, the staff and overall service were commendable. All the staff members were very friendly, and the hotel’s location is excellent.

27th floor end of the hall room. PROS: Excellent staff and service. Good location. Spacious, clean, well furnished room with small sofa, desk and plenty of counter space, drawers, large closet, mini refrigerator and small combination safe. Good shower. CONS: Bad lighting in bathroom. Rooms overlooking the pool are very noisy with screaming children 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekends. You can hear people in adjoining rooms as if they were in the same room with you. The WORST MATTRESS we've ever slept on, extremely hard and lumpy. 3 nights sleeping on it was a struggle.

Hotel Review: Swiss-Garden – A Disappointing Stay I recently stayed at Swiss-Garden, which claims to be a 5-star hotel, but unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations. 🍽️ Food & Breakfast Experience Nyonya Laksa: Barely passable. I'd rate it a 5/10 – lacked depth and authenticity. Bihun Sup: Not recommended at all. Bland and forgettable. Nasi Lemak: A serious letdown. The sambal was uninspired, and the overall dish felt like a wasted opportunity. Breakfast Variety: Very limited. For a hotel of this supposed caliber, the spread was shockingly basic and uninspired. We came all the way from KL hoping to enjoy a relaxing breakfast, but the mood was completely ruined. 🛏️ Room & Cleanliness View: The only redeeming feature – scenic and pleasant. Room Condition: Upon entering, we were hit with a strong, unpleasant smell resembling urine (bau kencing). The air felt sticky and unhygienic. Toilet: The entrance toilet had visible dirty stains around the walls. It was unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that markets itself as luxury. Executive Room: Not worth the price. The overall condition and amenities did not match the premium label. 😞 Overall Impression Swiss-Garden may advertise itself as a 5-star destination, but our experience was far from luxurious. Between the disappointing food, poor hygiene, and lackluster room quality, it felt like a wasted trip. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable or enjoyable stay.
Sathya D — Google review
I booked directly via Swiss Garden’s own website for RM560 per night. This is a premium rate, so I expected a high standard of service and facilities — especially since my stay was on a regular weekend (not during any school or public holidays). I arrived at around 2:15 pm and had to wait 40 minutes before my room was ready. While I understand this may be slightly early for check-in, what disappointed me was seeing my friend — who booked via Booking.com for only RM350 — check in just before me without delay. Even more surprising, my friend’s room was far superior: an end unit with a TV, two bathrooms, and a dining hall. In contrast, despite paying significantly more, I received only a standard room. This raises concerns about how room allocation is prioritised — it feels like higher-paying guests should at least receive equal, if not better, treatment. The room itself was just okay — nothing remarkable for the price. Breakfast was underwhelming (“meh” at best) and did not match the quality I’d expect at this price point. But I would add that the hotel has strong and reliable Wi-Fi connection. Breakfast service extended until 12 pm, which helps avoid crowding. At RM560 per night, the value simply wasn’t there. I left feeling disappointed, especially after directly comparing my experience to a friend who paid much less yet received a significantly better room. If this is how room allocation works, it makes me wonder how many other guests end up in a similar situation.

This was a last minute substitute for a room we had booked at the Aava Malacca Hotel which was absolutely terrible. We were in that room literally 2 minutes and left. It was dank and moldy with our throats burning from the mold within minutes of arriving. We demanded our money back and immediately booked a room at Swiss Garden Hotel. It was a bit overpriced but worth every penny. The room was great as was the location. If we can get a room at a better price next time, we would not hesitate to stay there again. Stay away from Aava Malacca Hotel. It’s a pit.
Richard G — Google review
We stayed here on 24th October, and unfortunately, our experience was quite DISSAPOINTING!!. The Front Office staff (a Malay lady on duty around 7 PM) was not friendly at all — no smile, no greeting. A simple smile doesn’t cost anything and really makes a difference in customer service. With so many hotels around, attitude and hospitality are what set one apart. It’s a shame because this kind of experience really affects the image of the establishment. The air conditioner in our room was also very noisy. We had to switch it off and ended up sleeping without air conditioning. A few minutes after turning it off, a weird, sharp sound kept coming from the ventilation, making it hard to sleep. We tried calling the operator and Front Office for help, but no one picked up the phone. SADLY we couldn’t sleep the whole night. The bedsheet didn’t feel fresh either — it caused some itchiness. The only positive part of our stay was the café staff during breakfast. They greeted and served us with warm smiles even though the café was busy. Thumbs up to them for their great attitude and service! Overall, we’re quite DISSAPOINTED and, UNFORTUNATELY, WOULD NOT CHOOSE TO STAY HERE AGAIN. WE WILL NOT RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERS TOO..

Kedai minuman Siang Chiang is a traditional coffee shop in Melaka that offers a variety of local breakfast and lunch options. Despite being crowded, the efficient queue system ensures that diners are seated quickly. The kaya butter toast is a standout item, with well-toasted bread and sweet kaya contrasting perfectly with slightly melted salted butter. The prawn noodles are flavorful and have a springy texture, while the Sarawak Mee is described as delicious.
Kedai Minuman Siang Chiang offers a delightful array of local dishes, making it a perfect spot for those seeking variety in their morning meal. From the rich and spicy Nyonya laksa to the flavorful Sarawak kolo mee, each stall presents its own specialty that doesn’t disappoint. The kaya butter toast stands out with its generous slab of butter, providing a satisfying crunch and sweetness in every bite. The prawn mee boasts a springy texture and is complemented by a flavorful broth. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this kopitiam provides a genuine taste of Melaka’s culinary offerings.

There is Q when we reached around 930am but the boss will arrange the seat for you which is quite good, at least no need worry to grab seat or stand beside ppls to wait for table. You will need to go counter and order drinks and bread which I feel very systematic as well. The food just normal for me which not worth for the Q, chicken rice is not bad, prawn mee soup is quite light if you are the one who don't like too thick or oil soup you will like it. If no need to Q too long, it's worth to come over.

Morning crowds but they have a queue system that works fine. We ordered our drinks and snacks ie nasi lemak packs, local Kuih muih, toasted bread, eggs and snacks at the counter while for food you just go to the respective stores to order. Chicken rice, prawn noodle and curry noodles are good. Toasted bread and soft boiled eggs didn’t disappoint. Drinks are good too. Overall a good place to eat local hawker food. Only gets a bit noisy and crowded in the morning and less crowded later on.,

A traditional Chinese coffee shop for breakfast and able to look for parking along left and right of the street. A short queue in front of us, manage to cleared within 5 minutes time and staff lead us to our table. 3 main food stalls including Sarawak Kolo mee, with some noodle list, another stall is Nyonya laksa, last stall offering chicken rice, “lobak”, stuffed beancurd which looks nice to me. We could order drinks, Nyonya Kuih, Chinese dumpling, kaya butter toast, half boiled egg at counter and paid at the same time. Foods and drinks served fast within 10 minutes time which is efficient and agile. Kolo noodles simply tasty with additional flavours from the minced meat and pork lard, whereas laksa enriched with coconut and spice with mouth watering broth. Prawn noodle is flavoursome and with generous portions of prawns. Angku Nyonya kuih is good but the tea is not up to normal standard. Nevertheless we did enjoy the breakfast and will come again to try on other menu. Revisiting this place and had updated few photos, food is still awesome as before.

I enjoyed their local kaya butter toast, laksa, prawn noodles and coffee. The rest were just average if you’re only looking to try or having a no-frills breakfast. I was disappointed with their yong tau foo 👎🏼 — hopefully the stall owner can improve the soup recipe and keep the ingredients fresher. Their homemade pineapple tarts were very sweet and quite generous with the topping. Not the best I’ve had, but I’m sure they’d go well with a hot cup of tea or coffee—preferably without sugar 😅. P.S. Be prepared to wait a bit for the toasts.
Monda S — Google review
A great local breakfast spot, it indeed attracts lot of tourist, so expect to queue. The food overall was ok not fantastic, the popular one are nyonya laksa, kolo mee. But what I like the most was the packed of Nasi lemak. Drinks were ok too.

A long time go-to place for breakkie and brunch for many locals and tourists alike within the heart of Malacca. There's now even more choices and variety within the few stalls located here which is really welcomed. Of particular noteworthy mention includes the nyonya styled curry laksa, and the chicken rice balls. There's also a stuffed tofu (yong tofu) stall at the back end which has a good selection to pick from provided you get here early. The freshly hand brewed kopitiam styled coffee and tea drinks are pretty much up to snuff and something to look forward to here as well. Pair these drinks with the toasted bread with kaya and butter for a snack worthy of deities! All in all a fantastic breakfast place and highly recommended.

Eating here feel a bit rushed, maybe come before 9am. After that, more people come and starting a queue. the food especially chicken rice, taste less fragrant, and the chili falls into more sour side. Could be improved. The tea is very good. Thick and fragrant Still a good place to have a breakfast. Definitely will try other menu someday

Well you want to eat with the locals and experience the life of a local this place is where you go. With a mix of maybe 15-20 independent cooks each with their own kitchen set up this place is fantastic. It may look chaotic to the average tourist, but just walk around and look and you will instinctively understand how it works. Great food, mostly traditional and good sized plates it's half the price as KL and just as delicious. If you are wanting a beer with your meal be warned it's a little dearer than most. Nonetheless, sitting on a corner and just a 10 minute walk from that main tourist area of Malacca it's half the price and every bit as good. Enjoy, cheers.

Restoran Kok Keong is a family-owned eatery that has been serving up their famous bak kee for over seventy years. The current owners, the granddaughter and grandson of the original proprietor, continue to uphold the tradition of quality and flavor. Their signature dish features flour-coated pork slices cooked with belly, intestine, liver, and beancurd skin in a flavorful meat soup reminiscent of Bah Kut Teh but with its own unique twist.

Came about 2PM on Saturday. Still quite crowded. Ordered the combination set for 2 pax. Came with lean meat, belly meat, liver, intestines & tofu. Ordered extra veggie & bursting meatball. Refillable broth; though it was just ok for me. Could be stronger & more flavorful. But the meat were done perfectly; the bursting meatball were especially delicious! Yam rice also very flavorful & delectable. Overall, a good meal.

Ready to be queued on a weekend. The shop isn't big and the tables are very packly arranged. I would say the food isn't worth the long queue kind cause it isn't extraordinary but if you have time and u want something alittle different from typical melaka food, I guess still okay la.

The meatball is better than the pork belly and pork meat. The soup is sweet based, tasted somewhat similar to Singapore kway chap (sweet version).

Heard about this restaurant, so give it a try. Very thoughtful they have different varieties of combinations for you to choose. Yam rice is well cooked and aromatic. Fresh ingredients. The lean meat texture is good, and i think a coat of corn flour is coated on the meat before cooking it, thats why its silky smooth on the outside and tender inside. The soup is aromatic and flavourful. Friendly stall owner. Reasonable pricing. Definitely worth eating.

Nestled in the nostalgic Kampung Jawa district of Melaka, Vintage Green Cafe @ The Daughter is a delightful vintage-themed haven that perfectly encapsulates the charm of yesteryears. This family-run establishment, managed by the warm-hearted Ling and her father, invites you to step into a world adorned with antique furniture, yellowed books, and quirky knick-knacks that tell stories of the past.
Quirky cafe with plenty of antiques, old books, and trinkets plus some superb coffee, drinks, and food. We loved the old-world vibe of this place and the relaxed pace at which things are done. The Kopi C was awesome, as was the butter, egg, and cheese toasted sandwich. My wife loved her healthy mixed fruit juice. Such places are dying out, and some of them are pretentious and expensive. This one is down to earth and good fun if you like this kind of thing.

The place owned by a family so it feels like you visit a relative house, their served variety of meals and drinks. Expect a slow service on the full houses because they short staffed. Overall its worth to visit!

Perched atop 1-Altitude Melaka, Wildseed Cafe & Bistro offers a delightful escape with its panoramic views of the Melaka Straits. The rooftop garden setting provides a charming backdrop for savoring freshly-roasted artisanal coffees, floral-themed pastries, hearty brunches, and local-inspired dishes.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We celebrated our anniversary at Wildseed Melaka today (11 September 2025), and it was truly a memorable experience! The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. We were especially impressed by the friendly and helpful staff. They kindly helped us take photos, and even assisted in moving our food when it looked like it was about to rain. The atmosphere was simply stunning — with a very charming and relaxing view, perfect for celebrating a special moment. Thank you, Wildseed Melaka, for making our anniversary so meaningful. We will definitely come again!

We came here for our anniversary and honestly, it was such a letdown. The ambience is really nice — cozy and romantic — but that’s about the only good thing we can say. For the price (over RM150 per person), we definitely expected more. We couldn’t even choose our own drinks or desserts. They just served us two kinds without asking, and the drinks were really watered down and didn’t taste premium at all. We don't even know what drinks we would get. The food was another disappointment. All four courses came almost at the same time, so by the time we got to the mains, they were already lukewarm. The lamb flap barely had any gravy and became jelak really quickly, while the mango smoked duck was okay but way too salty towards the end. The sup tulang was okay, but not amazing. The only dish we actually enjoyed was the tiramisu. To top it off, the waiter promised us a “Happy Anniversary” message on our desert plate, but even that didn’t happen. Overall, great ambience but bad food, below-par drinks, and so-so service. Not worth the price at all.

Great breakfast place near our Airbnb. Nestled in an almost deserted elements mall, it’s quite surprising to find a well maintained bistro and cafe on the top floors. Food was great and service was better. There was a heavy thunderstorm the night before and disrupted quite a bit of the kitchen and seating equipment, so the staff were quite apologetic about delay in serving food. Surprised to hear that the cafe is owned by a Singapore entity. Price wise, it would have been quite expensive but after an Eatigo discount the prices became much more reasonable.

Stepped inside the Bistro outdoor dining area. View was indeed superb. I asked for the menu but was instead told that u scan the qr code no menu. Food was normal with the exception of the Chicken Berempah Burger but it was only served after we went into the indoor dining area to ask for it. The drinks we ordered were served to another table with guests whom did not order amything and was left there for a good 25 minutes, when we asked for our drinks to be served, the waiter practically went to the table and brought the drinks over to us just telling us that the order was wrongly sent. It was only changed when we asked for it to be changed. The staff at the venue wasnt interested serving us at all and i felt that the aunty serving us at coffeeshop this morning offered better customer service. Overall.assessment of the venue - service was 2/10 , Food was 5/10 ,Atmosphere 8/10.

No doubts, Its a bad experience with wild seed cafe! We ordered a big breakfast cost around RM 58 and it looks like this! Simple and tasteless! The scrambled eggs and beef are way too salty yet no flavor and not fresh! I really dunno what the chef is cooking! Dry chicken wings! Coffee 2/5 stars, using cheap oat milk and instead of coffee it tasted like drinking milk! Some more, they do roof cleaning beside us while we are dining,Terrible! Only one floor crew serving, foods are all serving slow! Wouldn’t come back no more! Dont get mislead by the rating! It’s an honest review! The only good things is the well manner from the only serving crew!

I recently visited 1 Altitude- Wild Seed with high expectations based on online reviews, but my experience was a complete letdown. Despite the hype, the dishes fell flat and the slow service meant I had to chase down cutlery, hot water for the baby, and even clear plates myself! The service was incredibly slow, with a significant wait time for our food. When it finally arrived, the burger chicken was over cooked and appeared excessively tanned and meat tasted bland as it wasn’t marinated properly. The curl fries tasted so salty, and the accompanying the volcano curry prawn noodles does not meet up to the standard curry noodles, the prawns look big but not fresh. The server was also inattentive, making it difficult to get refills or ask for anything else. I would not recommend this restaurant. Lesson learned: Money goes for the skyline, not the meal.

8 Oct 2025 Today, tried lunch special, nasi lemak. And Oct special, Chinese herbal chicken claypot. Nasi lemak, rice was fragrant but only ikan bilis, an eggs, peanuts.... Chicken claypot highly recommended, serve size was good, chicken cubes well fried, coated with spicyness and herbs. 7 Oct 2025 At 44 flr, it has magnificent 360 Bird eye view of Melaka. Foods were good, carrot cake nice too. Staff were friendly and attentive. Next time, wanted to try lunch set.

Had dinner at Wildseed and really enjoyed it! The environment was nice and relaxing. Food was awesome! The soup with sourdough was the highlight; the bread was perfectly done and freshly made. Chicken satay was tender, and the seafood linguine was really yummy too. Service was friendly, and prices were reasonable (plus 10% off for 1-Altitude members!). We walked in without a reservation on a weekday and didn’t have to wait, but it’s definitely best to book ahead, especially on weekends or holidays. Didn’t expect much at first, so we didn’t even take photos of the food, but it turned out way better than expected. It was our first visit, but we’ll definitely be back!

Famosa Kopitiam is a delightful eatery that captures the essence of traditional Malaysian coffee shops. This charming spot offers a cozy atmosphere where visitors can savor authentic local dishes alongside aromatic brews. The menu features an array of favorites, from rich Nasi Lemak to delectable Kaya Toast, making it a perfect destination for breakfast or brunch.
I look for cheap food in this area. So Famosa Kopitiam is one of the choice, and they have a familiar menu. I ordered seafood laksa and Hainanese chicken rice. Actually the food taste is good. No problem with the food. But the service is bad. When I arrived, the tables were dirty and still scattered with plates from previous customers. Nobody cleaned the table, until I had to call and ask for it to be cleaned. The place is not fancy, because it's just like an old Chinese house in a Kungfu movie. The condition isn't maintained. The tiles and walls are worn out. The tables and chairs are also old. The restaurant atmosphere is a bit dirty. But fortunately the food is normal and delicious.

Mistake of mine that I was tired and didn't research before walking into this shop. To trust that how bad can one be to have a good shop location in Jonker bearing the famous AFarmosa name. Murphy law. Maybe the owner should seriously consider changing to other business, like selling souvenirs instead.

The place looks shabby…the service is super bad…rude servers…they don’t even give the menu carte….cooked prawns were not deveined…chicken was tasteless…pleas do not walk in by mistake

We noticed the shop looks decent from be outside and thought what the heck, try some cendol la as the photos look enticing. The service staff seem to take orders only if you order dishes. As we wanted only cendol, have to order at yhe cashier counter 🤔 whats the difference leh??? Same shop same owner??? Unless they ain’t??? 🤔 we ordered 2 each of a normal cendol and durian cendol. Initially, it tasted good but soon we find the gula melaka seems to taste sourish. We stopped eating immediately. 🤪 lucky nothing untoward happens later in the 🚽 🤪

Bitter tasting Yang taufu ....inedible.. not fresh. French Fries were oily because oil was not pre heated and the sausage in a roll was destroyed by copious amounts of mayonnaise. Service was unfriendly...get your own menu, no serviettes available at table. Kindergarten cooks!

I seldom give review like this, but it really disappointed me The kopitiam looks good from outside, so I give it a try (I should check reviews first) Order something to try before lunch time, so I ordered 1 pcs of chicken rice ball, a steamed chicken leg, and hot white coffee Hotel white coffee- tasteless Chicken rice ball and chicken- normal The reason why I give this restaurant 1 star, in fact will give Negative if I can, is I saw cockroach on my table, I feedback to the staff, and the staff tried to catch, but he could not make it, then he just walked away, lols, then the cockroach just crawl around the table again Is normal to see cockroach in restaurant too be honest, but the attitude of the staff really shocked me I can't imagine how the kitchen look like

Worst place I’ve eaten chicken rice! Service don’t even deserve 1 star!! We walked in, not even greeted by the staffs. Not to mention that they’re all foreign workers!! We ordered our food and it was serve quite fast. When we asked for tissues, they told us need to purchase ourselves, but they’re so many empty tissue boxes laying around. We found a strand of hair in the rice. Food is ок but it’s not very hygienic, as shown in the pictures. The coffee was 3 in 1 too. Service is very very bad. Honestly, we didn’t read the reviews prior entering! Huge huge mistake!!

This was not a good choice. We were with kids and were hungry. We decided to have dinner here. Food was so mediocre; it was cold and so tasty. I have tasted much better chicken rice. Waiters and waitresses were not very friendly. Hygiene is a big issue here. Not coming back.

Rumah Kechik, also known as Small House, is a charming cafe located on Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, just a short walk from the bustling Jonker Street. Nestled next to the Baba House hotel, this hidden gem offers a peaceful escape from the crowds with its modern and chic design. The cafe opens early in the morning to cater to early risers and serves breakfast dishes until late afternoon.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had a wonderful time at Rumah Kechil Cafe! The new pasta dishes were flavorful, the drinks were spot-on, and the ambiance is so warm and cozy. Loved discovering this hidden gem with great coffee and friendly staff. Definitely coming back!

I heard about this amazing dining spot and decided to give it a try. After trying it out, I can confidently say that this is the best pasta I’ve ever had! The pasta is super aromatic and has a perfect balance of flavors. It really hits the spot in your mouth. For the Bolognese Chicken Spaghetti, the sourness from the tomato and the spice kick from the black pepper were just right. And the Parmesan Cheese really brought out the unique flavors of the dish. For the Smoked Duck Spaghetti Carbonara, it’s not the creamy kind, but it’s definitely more in line with the traditional Italian style, which I absolutely love! You can really taste the aroma of the cheese and egg! It was so good that we ended up ordering the brownies too. They were incredible! Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. And the orange chocolate ice cream paired perfectly with the brownies. One of the staff members was especially friendly and welcoming. Thanks a bunch for the detailed explanation of the food! I’ll definitely be back! Sorry for the quality of the photo 🤣 used a old school filter for it 🤣

Hidden gem in Melaka! ❤️ Small House Café really impressed me — not just with the food, but also the cozy atmosphere. The café has this warm, rustic interior with wooden beams and a cute spiral staircase filled with books and plants 🌿📚 It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel calm and happy. Perfect spot to chill, chat, or take some nice photos! Really love how everything feels homemade yet refined. Staff were friendly and attentive too — definitely one of the must-visit cafe at jonker walk! Cozy vibes, great food, and beautiful decor — 10/10 recommend 😍

Hidden gem in jonker! The space is cozy, well-designed, and super chill, perfect for spending a lazy afternoon with coffee and good food. Loved the French toast and their homemade granola. A bit on the pricier side for Malacca, but the quality and vibes are totally worth it.

Chanced upon this place while strolling along Jonker and decided to give it a try after checking the reviews. It did not disappoint—the food and drinks were great, the ambience was lovely, and the staff were friendly. They also have long tables that can easily accommodate big families and children. I’d definitely come back again to try more of their dishes.

I discovered a hidden cafe near Jonker Street! The cozy and comfortable environment, beautiful design, and relaxed atmosphere make it perfect for a leisurely meal. The food is fusion-inspired. I absolutely love their pasta and karaage fried chicken. While the prices are a bit high for Malacca, the quality and atmosphere are definitely worth it. It's a cafe I'll definitely visit again.

Kopi 434, a beloved traditional kopitiam in Muar, is a haven for coffee enthusiasts and food lovers alike. Renowned for its rich and aromatic Elephant coffee, this spot offers a unique twist on classic flavors with its premium beans that deliver a bold yet smooth taste. The menu features delightful dishes like mee Bandung with thick noodles and umami goodness, alongside crispy charcoal toast slathered in butter and kaya—perfectly complementing the coffee experience.

One of famous local coffee brand that people should try it. Especially if you are a coffee lover and like the taste of local coffee (it really your cup of tea or in this case coffee). Even their iced coffee is amazing. Their food also not bad.
Faris L — Google review
Visited Kopi 434 Muar for a late lunch and decided to keep it light. We ordered the iced coffee, kaya & butter toast, and the otah bun — a simple but satisfying spread. The coffee was the highlight: interesting, different from the usual kopi elsewhere, with a distinct aroma and flavour profile that makes Kopi 434 famous. Smooth, bold, and very enjoyable. The kaya butter toast was classic and comforting, while the otah bun added a nice local touch. It’s a great place to experience authentic Muar coffee culture, especially if you enjoy traditional kopitiam flavours with a slight twist.

The food was mediocre, egg was cold. But the otar was amazing - flavourful and served hot. Coffee was very average - not sure what the hype was all about. Atmosphere was great, and gives the old town vibes. Would not recommend this place, unless you are nearby.

Very lucky to try the queens coffee during the coffee tree flower blossom time. When the waitress recommended that it’s the season for the particular coffee, just order it. No regrets. The queens coffee came with a flower and when it blended with the coffee, the fragrant is very unique. The Durian ball dessert is also quite nice.

Nothing special on the menu that we have tried, just so so. Service was so bad, have to pay first before you get your ordered food but took about 20 minutes to get your food served. Hope they will improve.

Their “Elephant Kopi O” is authentic, thick and exactly the kind of taste that hits the spot. And the otak bun… omg, definitely a must-try! 🥟🔥 If you are ever passing by Muar, make sure to drop by and have a try of the local delights!

Food is normal, nothing excited. Kaya is own made, taste fine ~ available to buy also. Coffee is fine, only normal signature coffee available not queen coffee and others premium coffee cost RM 30+ not yet try. Queue is commonly 👀 here at cashier counter, many people buying their coffee, kaya, roti kok etc. Variety of Dilmah tea available besides their own brand tea, except their premium tea is available to drink but not for purchase

Kopi 434 - Melaka Branch is a charming cafe in Melaka with a slightly upscale atmosphere and decor. While it can get noisy, it's not ideal for gatherings or long chats. The menu mainly focuses on breakfast, brunch, and lunch items, with tasty options like otak-otak/chicken nasi lemak and mee Bandung. The cafe offers a wide variety of coffee choices, including the unique grass jelly coffee.
A Divine Culinary Experience – Coffee & Local Delights That Will Ruin All Others For You! Step aside, ordinary breakfasts—Kopi 434 in Melaka serves a gastronomic masterpiece that will make your taste buds sing with joy and your heart weep with satisfaction! Let’s start with their Nasi Lemak—an absolute flavour bomb. The fragrant coconut rice, fluffy and decadent, is paired with a mind-blowingly good sambal that strikes the perfect balance between sweet, spicy, and savoury. Every bite is a heavenly explosion of textures—crispy anchovies, perfectly roasted peanuts, and that golden, creamy boiled egg that rounds everything off like a chef’s kiss. Then, there’s the Beehoon—a dish so deceptively simple yet so insanely delicious, you’ll wonder what kind of wizardry they infused into it. Each strand is delicately coated with umami-rich seasoning, with just the right amount of wok hei that makes you close your eyes and let out a satisfied sigh after every bite. But the showstopper? The fried bread sticks with Gula Melaka-infused kaya. OH. MY. WORD. This is pure breakfast ecstasy. The crispy, golden sticks shatter in your mouth, revealing their pillowy soft center, while the kaya—a luscious, velvety nectar of coconut and palm sugar perfection—coats your tongue in pure, sinful indulgence. The Gula Melaka infusion takes it to another level, adding a deep, caramelised richness that will haunt your cravings for days. Paired with their legendary Kopi Muar 434, this is not just breakfast—it’s a soul-nourishing, life-changing food experience that will make you question everything you knew about local Malaysian cuisine. Do yourself a favour—run, don’t walk, to Kopi 434. You can thank me later. 🔥☕🍽️ Absolute PERFECTION! 🍽️☕🔥

A coffee brand originating from Muar that has opened many restaurants. I haven’t visited in a long time, so I dropped by for a cup of coffee while passing through. Honestly, their Kopi O Kosong is extremely bitter and hard to drink without sugar—this seems to be a common issue with local coffee brands. I also ordered a miso ramen, which tasted like instant noodles in MSG soup. Apart from vegetables and eggs, the other ingredients were mostly processed foods. It seems that the bigger their business grows, the lower the quality of their food becomes.
Sean Y — Google review
Just had brunch at Kopi 434, Melaka branch. The food was generally good — I had nasi lemak with chicken rendang. While the rendang didn’t quite have that authentic kampung (village-style) flavour I was hoping for, it was still tasty. What really stood out for me was their variety of toasted bread – delicious and nicely done! The atmosphere inside was quite lively, a bit noisy as all tables were occupied and many customers were dining in. It has a cozy, upgraded kampung-style vibe, with comfortable seating and unique wall decorations. You can choose to sit indoors with air-conditioning or enjoy the outdoor seating area if you prefer fresh air. Parking is convenient with plenty of spaces around, though some may require MBMB parking payment on weekdays (free on public holidays). The wait for food took about 20 minutes, so some patience is needed during busy hours. Overall, a nice spot for brunch in Melaka if you’re into local food in a slightly more stylish setting.

Discover KIN by The Daily Fix, a charming addition to the Daily Fix family located in Kota Laksamana. Unlike its bustling Jonker Walk counterparts, this spot offers convenient parking and serves a delightful fusion of Western and Eastern cuisine, featuring their famous fluffy pancakes. Visitors praise the consistent food quality and improved service at this sister cafe. Some recommend trying the matcha burnt cheesecake for its surprising taste and texture.
I saw the reviews and all comments about this cafe is aesthetic. Truthfully, but it is not only the decoration; it is also the food presentation and innovation. The caramelized duck on toast, is actually crispy sambal sauce duck, with the creamy omelette on sourdough. Is tasty! The souffle pretty good too. Worth a visit!

I would recommend anyone to try if they never tried before. One of my fav place at Melaka. Let's talk about the food: - Favorite would be Mac n Cheese (one of my fav place for Mac n Cheese) - Other than that, the Mentaiko Fries is a great snacks for light food for hangout Now on to the next will be the service: - Got to order at the counter so gotta prepare a list before ordering - The menu could be more organized maybe...not bad but just a bit clustered - Staff are so friendly and cheerful when attending you Atmosphere: - Love the relax & Cozy kinda vibe with a little natural light in the middle of the place - Would recommend come out during evening where it make extra cozy - There's also outside area if u prefer One thing I would like to recommend is to make more of big glass drinks...for the size...the drink are kinda pricey for some of em

First time we went to this place last few years back, we were star-struck with their carrot cake. Sampai tahap, whenever we got chances to buy or taste any other carrot cakes, me and my wife strongly agreed that no one can beat theirs. But that is as per apa yang kami dah pernah rasa lah. Anyone else might got different views. So today we got our chances and went again after few years back, arrived around 2pm, but the cakes just not there. Just at this particular branch. Even theres only two slice of burnt cheesecake left in the whole big display. Summore, i purposely booked a stay nearby just to make sure our trips to kin easier hahah In addition, me and my wife ordered the same dish as per our last visit, roasted duck rice bowl and carbonara with duck bacon. All good. Just like old times. But our son beef fried rice, lower parts of the rice kinda soggy and too oily. I can't really tell wether sesame oil or tiram oil that is in excess. Other than that is good and delici I dunno why im writing this and kinda feel bad but we went south with hundreds kilometre of driving just to reminiscing our memories back and its just heartbreaking hahah Anyway keep up the good work and sure will call for confirmation first after this whenever we got the chances to come back again

Housed in a vintage shophouse, this delightful spot offers air-conditioned relief from the heat and ample space between tables for a relaxed dining experience. Known for its local Chinese dishes infused with Malay flavors, Juan Kee serves generous portions at reasonable prices.
We really enjoyed the laksa here and such a plus point for someone that doesn’t take seafood as they have chicken laksa. Really creamy fragrant and packed with flavour. Also really like the entrance of the kopitiam, just made the experience so much more memorable. Would definitely visit again, highly recommend this place to tourists and even locals!

Good breakfast spot serving the usual dishes such as kaya toast, wonton mee and nasi lemak. Will also be suitable to lunch. When we were there, we got bitten by mosquitoes so it is advisable to bring repellent if you want a peaceful meal. Nothing too special about most dishes but what stood out most was the nasi lemak which was so fragrant and flavourful. Right when it was served we could already smell the coconut, and the taste of it was even better. The kaya toast doesn’t seem to use pure kaya though, it’s probably a mixture with cream to make it light green in colour and is also not sweet. Kopi peng is also more bitter than usual, and lacks the creaminess I’m looking for.

The environment here is really nice — cozy, clean, and welcoming. It’s a great place to relax or catch up with friends. The food was okay, nothing bad but nothing that really stood out either. Portions were decent and everything came out on time. Overall, a pleasant spot mostly for the atmosphere rather than the food itself.

Very average food, but prices are extremely reasonable. Portions are big and ambience is aesthetic. We tried the following dishes: • Wanton Mee: This was alright, nothing fantastic. • Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken: The rice was not bad, but the curry wasn't tasty. It was lacking both salt and spice. • Mee Sian with Rendang Chicken: The mee siam tasted like fried beehoon, not bad-tasting, but definitely not like fried mee siam. The chicken was really salty and tasted like frozen chicken. • Kaya Butter Toast: This was not bad, the kaya was rather fragrant and not overly sweet. We came early in the morning soon after they opened on a weekday and the place had plenty of seats. Overall, I wouldn't be back as the food was really average so I'd rather eat other options. It may be worth a try for those who are just looking for somewhere to fill their stomachs.

Today, November 13 (Wednesday), I ordered two servings of wonton charsiew noodles and some drinks. The drinks and noodles were good, but the wontons had already gone bad and smelled sour. I’m not sure if they used leftover wontons from yesterday. I immediately gave them feedback about it. Here’s how they handled the situation: They said they would make fresh wontons on the spot and replace the dish (though I’m wondering — aren’t the wontons supposed to be freshly made every day?). They also offered a 10% discount as an apology. I hope they will pay more attention to the freshness of their food in the future.

初心咖啡馆 马六甲 SOLO CAFE is a cozy spot that offers a diverse menu catering to various dietary preferences, including vegetarian and keto options. The cafe is recommended for hanging out with friends as it has something for everyone. Some popular dishes include the portobello mushroom burger, cauliflower fried rice, broccoli fried rice, and vegetarian pizza with a cauliflower base.
I’m an adult but came here for the ducks hahaha, the ducks so cute! Just ordered drinks here, coffee was good. Environment is kid friendly.

Concept café with a mini petting zoo in an A/C glass enclosure - it's well maintained with a couple of ducks and birds. Food was decent but nothing out of the ordinary.
Adeline Y — Google review
I recently revisited Solo Cafe in Melaka and was quite disappointed with how much the place has changed over time. When I first discovered this cafe, it had a certain charm, but unfortunately, it seems there hasn't been much maintenance or improvement since then. The food was a letdown — I ordered the waffle ice cream, which tasted like instant or pre-packaged food. The chocolate ice drink also lacked any real cocoa flavor, making it feel watered down and unmemorable. One major issue was the hygiene and cleanliness of the environment. The cafe keeps ducks and birds inside a closed room, but the smell was quite strong and unpleasant. This seriously affected the overall dining atmosphere. The place itself felt messy and poorly kept, which was surprising considering how it started. That said, one bright spot in the experience was the assistant kakak, who was friendly and helpful throughout. Overall, Solo Cafe seems to have lost the quality and care it once had. With some much-needed upkeep and focus on food quality, it could become a pleasant spot again — but for now, it falls short.
Dido A — Google review
Food are just average but freshly cooked. Fruit drinks can be quite sweet. Environment is good but can be noisy with all the birds chirping.

Nice shop with very cute birds and ducks!!!!!! Drink also nice with reasonable price. Recommend to family or friends gathering. Will come back again👍
Shu L — Google review
Solo Cafe is a very special and cozy place in Melaka, filled with lots of cute parrots and a few adorable ducks. The birds are kept in an air-conditioned room, which makes the café feel clean and comfortable — hygiene is really well-maintained here! The parrots and ducks walk around and bring a lot of joy and life to the space. It's such a fun and relaxing experience, especially if you love animals. The food is okay, but the coffee is really good! Staff are super friendly and helpful, which adds to the pleasant vibe of the place. Yes, there’s a minimum order (each person needs to order at least one item), but it’s totally reasonable — they need support to take care of all the lovely birds and keep the place nice and clean. I’m happy to support that! A great place for families, kids, or even a cute date. Highly recommend dropping by if you’re in Melaka!
Marlapan B — Google review
After my visit to the place, I discovered that while the cake was enjoyable, the overall food quality did not meet my expectations. Despite this, the experience of interacting with and playing with the duck added a unique and memorable element to the visit. I believe that for the opportunity to engage with the duck, it is still worth giving the place a try.
OXRYSTALo O — Google review
Staff were super friendly. There was 2 adult ducks and 3 babies. The baby ducks can be placed in your lap to accompany you. Food was quite basic. Nothing to shout about but I was able to clear my plate. Overall, this place is a nice hang out to play with cute lil ducks.

Tan Kim Hock @ Jonker Walk is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Melaka. This charming souvenir center showcases an impressive array of local delicacies, including Kuih Dodol, various pies like pineapple and durian, as well as ginger candy and coffee. The newly renovated space boasts a stunning vintage design that beautifully reflects the Peranakan culture, making it not only a shopping haven but also a picturesque spot for memorable photos.
Tan Kim Hock is a souvenir centre at Jonker Street. It has numerous choices of local snacks, chilli paste, coffee, tea, candies, pie, crackers, etc. They offer local food at the ground floor. Inside the building, there are also some beautiful backgrounds which visitors may take memories. Products pricing was reasonable. Payment could be made by cash and electronic modes.

Nice local dessert souvenir spot. Great for artistic photo taking. Many tourists dressed up with Peranakan traditional clothings and take unique photos at all corners

If you’re planning to visit Tan Kim Hock Souvenir Shop, I recommend taking a Grab or taxi since parking around Jonker Street is always packed and can be time consuming. I really love the concept and interior of this shop the heritage architecture is stunning, beautifully designed, elegant, and very clean. It also feels comfortable and even has a dining area, making it a great spot to relax and also perfect for OOTD photos. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and provide good service. Their products are localmade, high quality, and worth checking out. Honestly, this might be one of the most aesthetically pleasing shops I’ve ever visited in Jonker. Definitely a place I’d come back to again.

Awesome place to get all the souvenirs you'll ever need from Malacca! They have everything you are looking for and more - from the traditional Malaysian biscuits like ear biscuits and tapioca chips, chicken biscuits (鸡仔饼) to Malaccan favourites like Sambal Nyonya, White Coffee with Gula Melaka, Coconut Biscuits and all sorts of Gula Melaka. The place is so so inviting and so easy to shop with everything arranged in a way that is easy to see and select. Ended up buying way more than I needed and should have bought 😅 Wanted to go to Tan Kim Hock but found it was closed when I wanted to visit, so visited San Shu Gong instead. When I was there I realised that they were carrying Tan Kim Hock products as well. I initially thought it was strange that they were carrying competitor products, but was afterwards told by the auntie working there that they are family and are relate. Which explains everything! Anyway, do visit and get all the souvenirs you need. Just be careful not to overspend like me! 😝 PS. When I was submitting this review I realised that the San Shu Gong Google page and Tan Kim Hock Google page are exactly the same. Which further proves that they are really the same. San Shu Gong is located at the corner of the street (most visible); Tan Kim Hock is located a little more inside. In my opinion, it is easier to shop in San Shu Gong than Tan Kim Hock (ie, easier to overspend at SSG haha)

An oasis amidst the bustle of Jonker walk, with space to take a breather (and clean toilets!). Lots of souvenirs and snacks to peruse here, and samples of the sambal were good so I bought a bottle of dried shrimp sambal. Not bad!

Tan Kim Hock at Jonker Walk is a charming blend of heritage architecture and modern retail, perfect for food lovers and souvenir seekers alike. The restored colonial-style façade—with arched windows and wooden beams—sets the tone the moment you arrive. Inside, you’ll find a well-curated selection of local treats: coconut biscuits, pineapple tarts, dodol, mandarin peel drinks, and the signature gula melaka. Everything is neatly displayed, with prices clearly marked and generous samples available. The white coffee here is a standout and comes paired with a slice of gula melaka biscotti toast—an unexpected, delightful touch. The staff are welcoming and helpful, offering guidance and background on the products without being pushy. Many visitors rate this stop as a must-do on Jonker Walk, highlighting both the food quality and the aesthetically appealing décor, including photogenic corners and even surprisingly elegant restrooms.

A great souvenir shop where you can find a wide variety of local snacks and food items, all in one place. Besides shopping, there’s also a nice photo spot right next to the shop. This two-story cafe is known for its Instagram-worthy decor featuring neon signs and vintage touches. Patrons can indulge in an array of Western cuisine including steaks, pastas, pizzas, and delectable desserts like cakes and brownies.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) The food here is amazing! I had the Aglio Olio and it was absolutely delicious. But what I loved the most was my drink – the Mango Passion. It was super yummy, perfectly sweet, and had a strong mango flavor that I really enjoyed. The place itself is nice, though it was a bit warm, probably due to the hot weather. Hopefully, the air conditioning can be improved or the temperature adjusted for more comfort. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. If you're visiting for the first time, I definitely recommend checking this place out!
Syafiqah A — Google review
The food here is superb! The pesto pasta is nice, but the prawns were not as fresh as expected. The honey mustard chicken is delicious and highly recommended. However, the seating is not very comfortable for dining in, and they don’t provide baby chairs or baby cutlery, so if you're bringing young children, be sure to prepare ahead. Additionally, avoid visiting on weekends as parking can be quite challenging. While the food is excellent, a few improvements in other areas would enhance the overall experience.

Food was great and portions very generous, especially loved the aglio olio, and the hamburg rice was very unique too! The boss was spot on with his recommendations and we enjoyed our meal very much! Plus point was the prices are very reasonable :) They were also very accommodating when a drink we requested wasn't on the menu anymore, and still offered to make it for my daughter. Overall, our family of 5 had a great dining experience there!

Kacang Phool Hajijie is a unique spot that offers a variety of dishes, including their signature Kacang Phool, which, while not quite on par with the famous version from Johor, still delivers a satisfying taste. The café also features other options like Mee Bandung Muar and Mee Soup. Located conveniently beside a busy road, it can get crowded during peak hours, making parking somewhat tricky.
Having here for breakfast with my husband.. total spent is RM24 (incl 1 set of half boiled egg) .. kinda cheap and affordable.. its our first time trying the kacang phool, niceeee flavour.. definitely good experience.. thankyou for the good experience 🫶🏻

Even though not nearly as good as Kacang Phool Haji from Johor, to me, they really made an adequately tasty Kacang Phool. They even had Kacang Phool MRE (Meal READY TO EAT) PACK too. They also had several dishes such as Mee Bandung Muar, Mee Soup, ala cart fried dishes etc. The cafe sit just beside the main road especially busy in the weekdays morning... so be careful when looked for parking.
Azrul N — Google review
Was here on weekdays so most tables were empty. No waiting time. Parked on the right side of the stall infront of someone’s house. I bet the parking is a nightmare if the stall is in full capacity. Ordered whatever on the menu. The only most delicious was roti bakar medan. Others are okay. But i really love the pricings. The staffs were super unfriendly or some might say that’s the malacca hospitality. Talked in rude tones. But other states in Malaysia would interpret that as tone deaf. Could improve on kacang pool taste, a bit bland.
Nahnee A — Google review
Located beside main road. Necessary to park beside the road or beside the shop if not many people come. The environment is almost good since its not hot maybe due to have big trees surrounding the shop. But a little bit noise due to just beside the main roads & a lot of vehicle past thru. Base on menus suitables for medium to heavy breakfast. I choose to orders the Kacang Phools because its quite to find this dish elsewhere... 😎 Since only few peoples at time arrive, staff almost immediate take the orders 👍🏼. Few minutes later, received the orders 👍🏼. Presentation quite good. Taste almost good. Price almost reasonable. Hopefully to try other menus in future... 😎

Most lunchtime people are office goers. It's an ideal place as the food is served very fast. Hence, one can quickly finish their lunch during the stipulated office time and return back soon as well. The noodle (and its components) is very ordinary. The portion of the noodle is not enough. The amount of pig offal is small, just several very small pieces. Will have to find extra food elsewhere just to get full. The tea is a bit wishy-washy. Will never come again.

Hock Kee Bakes @ Jonker Walk is a delightful stop for anyone exploring the vibrant streets of Malacca. Nestled conveniently next to Mixue, this popular spot often sees eager patrons lining up, especially on weekends. The atmosphere is welcoming, with friendly staff ready to assist you as you navigate their tempting array of treats. While the waffle biscuits have garnered attention online, opinions vary; some find them merely average compared to the standout offerings like their signature pastries.
Hock Kee Confectionery (Jonker Walk, Melaka): Freshly Baked Treats with a Long History (4.5/5 Stars) Rating: • Food Quality: 4.5/5 (Delicious and fresh "tai yang bing" or sun cake, with a balanced flavor) • Ambience: 4/5 (Lively and bustling, with a traditional bakery atmosphere) • Value: 4/5 (Reasonably priced, with the option to buy individual pieces or a whole box) Overall: 4.5/5 Donkey and I, along with a group of friends, stumbled upon Hock Kee Confectionery while exploring Jonker Walk in Melaka. Our friends raved about this place, emphasizing its popularity and long history. They mentioned that this stall is very famous for their pastry and it has been around for decades. We decided to give it a try, and we were lucky to catch it during a less busy moment (usually, it's packed!). We ordered the "tai yang bing," or sun cake, which caught our eye. It was fresh and warm, and the flavors were less sweet, but still delicious. The price of 3 RM per piece was reasonable, and we could buy a piece or a whole box. The best part? All of their pastries are baked fresh on the spot. We could see them being made right in front of us, and it was clear that quality and freshness were top priorities. My friends also tried other varieties of pastry and loved them. They were so impressed that they bought a whole box of treats for their family. Overall, we were incredibly impressed with Hock Kee. It's a popular spot with good reason. The pastries are fresh, the atmosphere is lively, and the prices are fair. It's definitely worth a visit if you're exploring Jonker Walk.

Visited this local biscuit and souvenir shop after seeing their waffle biscuits featured on XiaoHongShu. The staff was friendly and responsive—though it could be because I was the first customer of the day. The waffle biscuit was crispy as expected, but the chocolate and peanut sauces tasted like poor quality and didn’t go well with the biscuit. However, their signature 太阳饼 really surprised me—in a good way! The pastry was light and layered, and the filling was well-balanced and flavorful. The durian version, on the other hand, was overly sweet and tasted artificial to me. I haven’t tried the pineapple tarts yet, but the packaging looks good and says it can last for up to two months. Overall, I’d say the 太阳饼 is worth trying, but the waffle biscuits aren’t a must.

Hock Kee Waffle We saw many people recommending Hock Kee Waffle. So of course, we had to try it! Hock Kee offers a variety of traditional snacks, but the star of the show is definitely the waffle. We tried both the peanut and chocolate flavours, both were delicious! The peanut one had a nice savoury touch, while the chocolate was rich and satisfying. The waffle itself Super duper crispy, just the way we like it. I ended up going back three times in two days! The friendly sales lady even recognised us. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Malacca. We’ll be back for sure! RM3.50!

Good to get classic local pastries here. ✅️ Pineapple Tarts: Really yummy, one of the best I've had. The exterior is crisp, but the pastry isn't too dry and is buttery with a melt-in-mouth texture. The filling is very pure, tastes like minimum sugar is used which is great, allowing it to retain a slight tanginess. I tried all three flavours: original, charcoal, green tea. I'd say the original is the best. ✅️ Heong Peah: Very fragrant, texture of the skin is good, crumbly and crisp. 🆗️ Egg Tart: Slightly above average but nothing special. 🆗️ Lao Po Bing: Not bad, but not the best I've had. The exterior is very different from the ones in Taiwan, the ones here have a firmer pastry with a harder exterior but I appreciate that it is less sweet. The filling doesn't taste as fragrant as the Taiwanese ones too. Still, it's worth a try if you're here. 🆗️ Shao Bao: The shao bao here uses chicken, which was a bit disappointing. Flavour wise, it was still not bad though. ❌️ Waffle Biscuit: This outlet seems to constantly have a shortage of these. We went on two occasions, once at 10.30am on a weekday and they had just sold the last piece. However, the staff informed us that there were still chocolate waffle biscuits in the packets available, which we bought to try. Unfortunately, it was a letdown. It just tasted like a normal cookie with some cheap chocolate spread inside. I believe this is similar to the kueh kapit (folded love letter biscuits with chocolate/peanut filling) that's popular during Chinese New Year, except that I would rather take the kueh kapit over these as they taste much nicer. Staff at this outlet are very patient and friendly, this is commendable given the long queues and throngs of customers they have to deal with! The shop space is a bit small, so it can get very crammed and hot when queueing up. An alternative would be to visit other outlets instead, the queue is usually less scary. Overall, this is a good place to get the classic pastries: pineapple tarts and heong piah, I'd definitely recommend trying it out if you're in Malacca!

To call it Yong Tau Fu is really kinda stretch with only two varieties - fried fishball and fried tofu skin wrapped with fish meat. Its fish ball and paste is soft yet with a bit of crunch more like agar-agar or cincau/grass jelly. Noodles wise you have mee hoon, kuey tiew and mee. The mee is springy and doesn't have an aftertaste. I recommend you try it even if you usually don't take mee. Don't sit outside near the drain though if you are not used to the smell.

Noodle is really good. Simply mix with pork lard oil & light soy sauce, it can be enjoyed as it is. Really fragrant & smooth, the noodle easily slide into your mouth just by sucking lightly. If you like normal Hokkien style, there's a caramel sauce dispenser provided. If you like it the Melaka-style, squeeze the chili sauce dispenser & mix thoroughly. You'll have a bowl of delicious noodle with yong taufu. The yong taufu is just normal tasting. Restaurant is really clean & manage by foreign workers. Parking at this area is limited, roads are small & it's near a busy intersection & roundabout

The place is clean and tidy plus very systematically organised seatings - typical coffeeshop setting - not congested and quite stuffy and hot.👍👏 The chef is cooking efficiently, every cooking cycle is repeating perfectly with very simplify and efficiently...skill ley. The price is value for money or very worth it. The services are good and appropriate.

What happened? Used to be so good. But then someone messed with the soup stock Everything else is still ok but the stock tastes like it was made with plain water, soy sauce and sugar

Great Yong Tau Fu. Good, tasty fish paste fillings. Popular and most items sold out by 11am..

Nestled away from the bustling main street of Jonker Street, Hong Bee Kopitiam offers a delightful escape into the world of traditional Nanyang cuisine. This charming eatery is perfect for those seeking a nostalgic dining experience reminiscent of simpler times. The friendly atmosphere and welcoming owner create an inviting space where locals gather to enjoy their morning rituals.
True to the glowing reviews, very nice breakfast spot with great value. Breakfast for 2 cost us only RM13 but was definitely enough to last us till lunch. Any1 new to this place, get the kaya butter toast; crunchy on the outside, fluffy in the inside, but absolutely solid/filling enough.

Found a local kopitiam at a quiet street away from the main street of Jonker Street. Friendly boss and chill environment. Enjoyed the traditional breakfast set (a cup of Kopi, 2 soft boiled eggs and toasted bun with Kaya butter). Had their fishball and braised pork kueytiao mee which was delicious too! Braised pork is tender and flavourful. I like their spicy version, the sambal chilli is good. Recommend to come try if you are nearby Jonker Street for breakfast!

This was our regular breakfast spot during our stay in malakka. The price was amazing for what you get. It was never over 15RM for two people. Its a one man show but the service is fast and simple. There are not a lot of items on the menu but you dont need more than the ones offered. Its a traditional type of breakfast so if you are in search of a sandwich you got the wrong spot.

only 7.50 for full set of butter honey bread, half boiled eggs and milk coffee. the vibes so good, I can not expect more melaka than this, so chill and peace. the guests almost locals

Honest food - simple, tasty and unpretentious! 2 noodles, 2 coffee, 1 ice Milo, 1 set of soft boiled eggs and kaya butter bun for Rm 22.

Had duck egg kaya buns. It was ok, I prefer toast but my family liked the buns. The kopi was made old style and was excellent! The teh tarik too with lots of foam and good flavour! Came again another day for more kopi ais. So much better than many other shops!

Nice, really recommended if you want a slow morning and just immerse what the locals do in the morning 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 The stall is quite small and quite hidden, but there are lots of locals here. Many of them enjoying the mee or toast with egg and coffee. It is my first time having mee pork but with kwetiaw but it was delicious! I ordered the mee pok. The pork is tender, and there are some fishballs also (in the diagonal shape), the noodles is quite bouncy but has soft texture. The soup is thin but packed with flavours. The owner of the stall is nice. The price was good too. I was out of cash, and there are no nearby ATM in the area, the owner of the stall saw me looking confused, and I asked whether I could pay by QR Code or anything, because I only have 10 RM in my pocket. He suggested that the meepok is only 6 RM. what a good deal, so I just entered the stall and bought it without second thought (because all the other food around the area will cost me around 10-15 RM without drinks). But it's not disappointing. Good place!
