Cendol Kampung Hulu in Melaka is a must-visit for those seeking an authentic and satisfying cendol experience. The cendol here stands out with its rich and creamy coconut milk base, made using a special Korean bingsu ice machine. What sets it apart is the use of frozen coconut milk as the foundation, giving it a unique and indulgent flavor.
Located near river banks with old vibes of Melaka. Their Cendol Durian has authentic taste and savory. If their portion was too big, u can share with your friend or couple while eating here. Their service was so good and friendly.

In the blistering heat, what better way to cool off than a fine bowl of Chendol? I am not a professional food reviewer, but trust me when I say this, the Chendol here was worth the hype. Got the Chendol Biasa and was pleasantly surprised when it came with a scoop of ice cream on top! The ice quality was amazing (finely shaved ice) which made the experience all the more sweeter. One bowl is never enough! Do swing by Cendol Kampung Hulu if you are in Malacca and have the opportunity.
Imran M — Google review
First time trying food around this tourist area. Expecting delay in service (was a bit delay because they need to cater so many people at one time because it’s like a hall room that offer different and variety of meals) food quality probably doesn’t reach my standard (a bit of for me) tasteless nasi lemak…! (doesn’t kick or giving at all) Char Kuey Teow taste so so, so… satay doesn’t cook well (raw part spotted) but the kuah kacang taste so good… other than that, I’m not sure… the view wasn’t really good though…
Mohd A — Google review
Find a comfortable table next to the river and wait for waiters bringing their wide variety of menu to you The chendol is a new experience for me as they used shredded ice but the taste is almost the same as the mamak chendol nearby "the red house" but a bit pricey to be honest Overall 8/10 for the chendol plus the beautiful atmosphere
Raden S — Google review
Melaka Cendol Surprise me is the difference of shave ice & mix with coconut milk santan, taste refreshing! Gula Melaka is a bit sweet to me. Maybe I can ask for less sweet next time. Regular Cendol has a scoop of ice cream. Looks really appetizing. RM9.90 per serving. Steep price with bigger serving. Allocated along riverside. May sit in or outside tables. Easy to takeaway off to go.

hi, sorry , but i need to be honest to all food reviewers out theres. this place culture was okay, but the food was reall bad, especially on cendol, this was no original cendol in melaka, they mix it with all of things that they thinks good, but that mix will make cendol taste really bad, sorry fellas, cause im from melaka people and come from this place. but this place was really nice on riverside, but your food taste was really unacceptable. thanks for this first and last.
Shaifuldin M — Google review
The cendol was quite ordinary with very little cendol despite being the main item on the menu. During our visit, their system was having issues—which we were perfectly fine with. But then, what were all the staff there for? Instead of assisting customers, they just acted as if nothing was wrong. Even when we looked at them, they pretended not to notice. There were plenty of staff laughing and chatting among themselves but only one female staff member attended to our table and even then, when I called her once, she simply nodded and went back to her conversation with friends. At the very least, they could have approached us first. We still had to pay a service charge, but the service was hardly there. The food also did not match what was shown on the menu. There are plenty of better places in Melaka—no need to waste time at overhyped spots like this.
Fya P — Google review
Under the blazing Malaysian sun, few things hit the spot like a cold bowl of cendol. And when it comes to satisfying that sweet craving, Cendol Kampung Hulu doesn’t just deliver—it pours happiness into a bowl, adds a mountain of shaved ice, and drizzles it with legendary gula Melaka. Located near the scenic Melaka River, this place isn’t just a dessert stop—it’s a full-on cendol pilgrimage. Locals swear by it, tourists find it by accident and never forget it, and if your GPS leads you here, thank your lucky stars (and Waze). The gula Melaka - thick, dark, aromatic—this isn’t your average syrup; this is the Beyoncé of palm sugar. It makes every spoonful sing. Pair that with soft red beans, perfectly chewy green jelly (which totally counts as a vegetable, right?), and creamy coconut milk, and you've got yourself a bowl of nostalgia and national pride. The green worm-like jelly in cendol is made from rice flour and pandan juice, so technically you’re having something plant-based. Healthier than it looks? We’ll go with yes. Try the durian cendol if you’re feeling bold (or just want to test your travel buddy’s limits). It’s creamy, rich, and absolutely unashamed of its smell. Love it or hate it, it’s a full-on tropical adventure in a bowl. The ambience was rustic charm meets riverside vibes. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, cool off, and watch the world (and boats full of tourists) float by. The prices Super reasonable. You’ll get change back from a tenner and still feel like you just experienced a five-star dessert. If you’re in Melaka and you don’t try Cendol Kampung Hulu, did you even go to Melaka? Swing by, grab a bowl, and let the gula Melaka do its magic. Warning: may cause spontaneous happy dancing and brain freeze.

Jonker 88 is a renowned dining spot in Melaka, situated on the lively Jonker Street. It's celebrated for serving traditional Peranakan delicacies such as Nyonya Laksa and Baba Laksa, along with an assortment of cendol, including the popular durian cendol. This eatery is a favorite among locals and tourists alike who seek authentic local cuisine in a bustling historical setting.
Stopped by for a bowl of cendol after a hot day walking around jonker. Managed to snag seats right at the storefront with fans blasting on our backs. Order at the counter, ~RM7 per bowl. Each bowl that came out looked consistent. Nice cendol!
Dq — Google review
I had to deliberate a fair bit before deciding on a rating here as I had two completely different opinions on the two food items I tried here: Nyonya Asam Laksa and Baba Cendol. The Nyonya Asam Laksa was great, it was really tasty and the sourness was just nice. The standard still remained equally good compared to ten over years back when I first tried it. However, the Cendol was a huge disappointment. It had no fragrance from the coconut milk or gula melaka at all. The standard of this was a far cry from that of the past. Seats are limited so expect to queue during peak hours. Ordering and collection is done via self service. Prices are honestly quite steep for the portion and ambience here. Overall, I wouldn't make the effort to queue but I may still return for their asam laksa if there is no wait.
GG K — Google review
Taste: 3/5 (Overall rating, Chendol + Laksa) - 5/5 for Chendol itself Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Affordability: 5/5 Would I come back: Yes! It a self-service ordering system. Queue for seats and go to the counter to order & pickup your food. Probably the best Chendol I tried at Jonker Street. I tried a few places nearby(iykyk). Their gula melaka is so rich and thick and their green worms had a bite to it! The coconut milk was decent as well! Would come back and eat this again and try their Assam Laksa. I am not a fan of Laksa, to me their Laksa was too spicy, no lemak taste at all. And they did not use the thick beehoon but used thin beehoon itself, which I feel, does not go well with the Laksa. But their fried toppings were crispy and hot!
Reina T — Google review
This is one famous shop in Jonkers. No matter what time you visit, there will always be a queue. They’re know for Laksa and their Ais Kachang. Since the queue was long that day, the staff asked whether we came for Laksa or Ais. Once we said Ais, we were immediately told to go inside as we were allowed to sit on the bench. If you opted for Laksa, you will get seated at a table. Chose to get the Ais Kachang Mangga to beat the heat that day. The dish consists of shaved ice, red bean, coconut jelly, corn, some syrup, and sliced mango. It was so refreshing!! The portion was also quite hefty & can easily be shared between 2 people.
Maharani — Google review
The restaurant is always packed whenever we visit. This time, we arrived around 6 p.m. and, thankfully, there was no queue — but our laksa turned out to be the last bowl of the day. It was a memorable meal, with everything being absolutely satisfying. We’ll definitely be back for more.
Leng S — Google review
Visited Jonker 88 because Kopi Harian was closing around 5pm. The place has a charming retro vibe, with old currency notes displayed in cabinets, adding to its nostalgic feel. I ordered their cendol and asam laksa. The cendol was quite normal — gula melaka was present, but it lacked the richness of coconut milk. The asam laksa, on the other hand, is the Nyonya style rather than the Penang version. The first sip gave a bright, appetising sour kick, and the savoury-sour broth really makes you want to go in for a second mouthful. Overall, a decent stop if you’re nearby and craving something refreshing and tangy.
Chia L — Google review
Perfect environment to eat and feel the authentic of Baba Nyonya Asam Laksa Kahwin. Pretty damn good food i should say!! Worth the money. Just one thing, if they could add more fans so that we could get some breathe from the heat. Alsooo.. do not miss the taste of baba ais kacang. So good lei. Sedapp nak mampuiihhh!

Food = 2 / 3 stars Service & Ambience = 0.5 / 1 star Value = 0.5 / 1 star We came here before many years ago. A man welcomed us in, and mentioned that it's last order. According to the sign inside the shop, they are open until 6:30pm, but seems like that was extended, at least for today, or the sign was outdated. I ordered cendol (RM7), while my wife ordered asam laksa with fried fu chuk (RM15). Cendol was OK, but asam laksa not so nice. Spicy but not fragrant. The fried fu chuk was good. There is not much service to talk about, since it's mostly self-service. Place order at the counter, and bring the food to tables by ourselves too. Prices too expensive for the quality of the food presented. 3 stars.

Bibik House Chendol is a dessert shop that specializes in Nyonya cendol and durian cendol. They use Gula Melaka syrup to enhance the flavour of their cendols, and they also have a good presentation with homemade cendol strands. The durian version is especially flavourful with a generous amount of gooey durian paste in the middle.
If you had only tried the famous chendol at Jonker Street, this is another Chendol place you want to check out. Love the thick and fragrant gula Melaka. You get to pour in your own portiin of chendol. I think putting in a bit at a time helps prevent the chendol from getting frozen all at the same time.
Freddy K — Google review
The gula melaka is concentrated and very nicely blended into the ice cendol. Really worth the try. They sell the gula melaka too, by weight about RM 28 per kg.
是无名 — Google review
I got the original chendol at 10rm, they also sell with the durian puree at 12rm if I remember correctly. The brown sugar in the chendol is really good. It’s been so long since I taste chendol that taste good and melts in my mouth. I’m sure to be back again! Thank you boss for making it so well 🙏🏼
Scarlett — Google review
Finally tracked down one of Malacca’s locally recommended Cendol spots in town. While it came highly praised, our experience was just average—the portion was modest for the price at RM10 per bowl. That said, the place is clean, and the boss was genuinely friendly, which added a nice touch to the visit. As a proud Penangite, I’ve got to say—nothing quite beats the nostalgic flavors of my hometown’s famous Cendol. Still, it was fun to give Malacca’s version a try 😋😜
DannyMah — Google review
Recently had a short break in Melaka and enjoyed a good durian cendol at Bibik House Chendol on Jonker Street. The place is very clean and tidy with friendly service by an elderly couple. The cendol is incredibly authentic with fresh coconut milk and aromatic gula melaka. The durian pulp made the cendol more refreshing and flavourful. I would consider Bibik House cendol the best due to its fresh ingredients.
Ms C — Google review
Highly recommended! This is the best cendol I’ve ever tasted. The homemade ingredients are superb, and the thick, aromatic gula melaka adds incredible depth of flavour. You can even taste the subtle fragrance of pandan leaves in the green jelly topping. Don’t miss the blue pea glutinous rice cake either. It’s wonderfully fresh with the delicate scent of blue pea flowers, and the drizzle of rich gula melaka makes it absolutely delicious.
Katong P — Google review
Monday, 18Jun2025 We had a free evening, hence we explored some interesting eateries in Jonker Street. Walked into Bibik House to try their famous Nonya Chendol. The shaved ice was very fine and the coconut milk seemed to be freshly pressed and stall holder was generous when she poured into the shaved ice. Sufficient gula malaka was poured into each bowl as well. And we were “encouraged” to help ourselves with more gula malaka placed on each table. We were tempted but none of us added any more as the dessert was already sweet. We must say the chendol was one of the best we had eaten so far during this trip to Malacca. The cost of MYR10 each bowl appeared on the high side but we felt the dessert was worth it as products used were mostly natural and fresh. We ordered another of the stall’s specialty - the glutinous rice ball; which was flavored with blue pea flowers, also dipped into free flow gula malaka. We only consumed a small ball each as we didn’t want more carbohydrates 😂. It was pretty good though. There were two versions of Chendol with Durian - one with Durian Puree (cost MYR18) and another with fresh Durian pulp (MYR38). But we didn’t want to try these.
Alan T — Google review
My family and I stumbled upon Bibik House Chendol, and it was a delightful find! Their chendol is incredibly authentic, with perfectly pandan-infused green jellies and a rich, creamy coconut milk. The gula melaka wasn't overly sweet, striking a great balance. It truly felt like a taste of tradition, a perfect refreshing treat on a hot day. Highly recommend for a real chendol experience!

Christina EE is a must-visit spot in Melaka, Malaysia for its delectable Nyonya Cendol. This refreshing treat features pandan rice noodles and kidney beans drizzled with gula Melaka (palm sugar syrup) and sweet coconut milk, making it the perfect escape from the heat. The coconut ice and finely shaved ice drenched in pure gula melaka provide a blissful taste of rich palm sugar.
Underrated shophouse for authentic Melaka chendol. You can add your own hula Melaka is you fancy more. Each censor is RM7. The bosses are very friendly & prices are reasonable. We were offered samples of homemade pineapple tarts which are less sweet & have the traditional taste. Will definitely recommend this place.
Pepperonipretzel — Google review
Can't really understand why the rating is so high as I found the cendol and pineapple tarts quite disappointing. The gula melaka here is very obviously diluted and mixed with sugar. It was really sweet, of a thinner consistency, and lacked fragrance. It honestly didn't taste very nice. The portion was also really tiny compared to other places at the same price. Pineapple tarts here were average, they weren't bad, but there are other better options. Overall, I wouldn't come back as the food was disappointing and not value for money.
GG K — Google review
Came for the pineapple tarts but the lady boss confidently sold her chendol and said she only sells desserts, so I bought the last bowl. It was indeed good and you can add more gula melaka if u want sweeter and more fragrant. Tried the double butter pineapple tarts and bought 1 box back. As we are near to CNY period, she also proudly and confidently sell their love letters who claimed all who tried will definitely re-order, again I was sold and bought 1 tin back.
JJ T — Google review
Plenty of stalls in the area selling chendol, but my husband insisted on this one — he swears by Google Reviews. Honestly, I wouldn’t have known this shop sold chendol if not for Google Maps. It’s a bit of a hidden gem, tucked away and not obvious at first glance. We dropped by for a bowl of durian chendol. Musang King wasn’t available, so we went with the alternative durian at a single scoop. It hit the spot, especially in the sweltering heat. A little on the sweet side for both of us, but perfect for sharing between two. Since the shop is also known for its pineapple tarts, we grabbed a box of their square-shaped ones. They have a rich, buttery flavour — definitely one of the more fragrant versions I’ve tried. Shelf life is about 3 weeks, which gives you time to savour (or gift) them!
Tan. W — Google review
Perfect for students to buy if they’re craving some authentic pineapple tarts. It tastes buttery and it’s not too dry. One of the best tarts I’ve ever tasted and the owner was super friendly so we would definitely go there again.

We were told that we should try Christina Ee's cendol and that we did. We came around 1.30pm on Sunday. They ran out of ice kacang but thankfully the famous Durian Cendol and Nyonya Cendol was still available. The Durian Cendol was already sweet even without additional Gula Melaka. I poured some Gula Melaka on the normal Nyonya Cendol. You can taste that they use fresh ingredients for the cendol and not frozen ones. I liked seeing the bottle of Gula Melaka in front me, giving me the option to put as much as I want (of course I wasn't that greedy!). Oh we also bought the pineapple tarts, and they are delicious (buttery yums). I kept them in the fridge (they should last 3 weeks according to the instructions on the packaging).
Emily C — Google review
Dropped by here for Nyonya Cendol and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The cendol is soft like cotton. Not too sweet, they provided us with the gula melaka to add more sweetness if desired. I didn’t add any gula melaka and found the sweetness perfect. However we found the shaved ice a little hard and chunky. The shop itself sells other local produce and delicacies. They specialise in pineapple tarts which are simply delicious.

The Kappan House Restaurant, situated on Jalan Tukang Emas near Jonker Walk, is a popular Chinese eatery offering a variety of dishes such as Kappan Cendol, Special Fried Noodle/Bihun/Rice, and Hakka Yong Tau Foo. The restaurant's cendol made from natural pandan leaves is highly recommended. Visitors praise the delicious and fragrant cendol and ABC dessert.
On the adjacent street from the tourist traps, and not one of the endless copycat restaurants serving chicken rice balls or nonya food. The menu seems Hakka inspired, and the Kappan Special Fried Mee Hoon was something special, floating in rice wine sauce. Kappan Special Otak Fried Egg was full of flavor, and everyone in the restaurant including us ordered the house special Kappan Cendol. Don't miss this hidden gem.

The Kappan House Restaurant in Malacca offers excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. The food is enjoyable, but the highlight is definitely their Kappan Cendol—rich, refreshing, and a must-try when visiting. A great spot to experience local flavors with friendly hospitality.
Velmurugan M — Google review
Was recommended by the lady from hahahusky! She said the cendol was a must try and if I liked rice wine — the Kappan special fried mee hoon would be delicious. It was definitely delicious with hints of ginger taste to it. Was tasty even if it was hot. The cendol photo speaks for itself and for the price — the size was perfect for me to try. I spoke with the guy for a bit (super friendly), but I am a little shy so i might of been awkward — delicious dish for sure! Thank you!

Small, old-school eatery famed for their special fried beehoon and chendol. Tried both and they were indeed good, especially the beehoon which had a strong huadiao jiu (chinese wine) taste. Chendol was good for its price. Altogether with a cold herbal drink, it was only RM23! They also serve a fried rice version of the beehoon, as well as an interesting otak fried egg which I would definitely want to try the next time I come by.

Very friendly owner and looking this homey simple restoran with some unique food items! I really enjoyed their rice wine fried rice and mee huon. Both are nice in their own way! I would come back for more next time we Cendol was alright though while their nyonya Zhang is really big in size with alot of fillings

My first meal in Melaka at The Kappan House Restaurant was a delightful start! After arriving at Melaka Sentral, I savored the Nyonya Style Stewed Pork Rice (MYR 9.50), Dumpling Mee Hoon Soup (MYR 6.50), and Honey Lime Juice (MYR 3.50), a total of MYR 19.50 paid in cash. The rich pork, light soup, and refreshing drink blended perfectly, offering a warm introduction to local flavors. Service was quick, and the cozy vibe set the tone for my trip. Highly recommend for first-timers

Kappan Cendol. Best Cendol I’ve had in Jonker area! Well balanced coconut milk, green Cendol, kidney beans and importantly the gula Melaka! Just Awesome. And the price RM4.50 is simply modest. Great friendly service. Must try!

The Raja Cendol Taming Sari is a dessert shop located in the Bandar Hilir area in Kuala Lumpur that specializes in durian cendol. They have a large variety of durians to choose from, as well as other Fresh Seafood on Ice dishes like heirloom tomato with whipped cream. Locals who enjoy durian cendols are sure to love this spot.
18.11.2019 At 1st I though this is just an average overprice durian cendol that I frequently taste around Malaysia. I was wrong.. this is really good and delicious above average. Cendol was not too sweet & lots of toppings inside. Loved it! The staff also quite nice and friendly.. will come here again for sure

We were literally hunting for cendol and then finally came to discover this place. They have a variety of cendols. We tried the mango cendol. The durian lovers would definitely like the durian flavored cendol. The taste was fantastic, and the portion was very generous. If you are going post dinner, do share one portion by 2 persons. The service was good, and the person at the counter was polite and efficient. The sitting arrangement is very ordinary and open air. The place is very touristy and as the name suggested, near Taming Sari, Melaka. Payment can be made by MBB QR or cash. Parking is a nightmare. Park a little away and walk around and to the place.

🐣 Refreshing Treats at Raja Cendol Taming Sari – A Must-Visit Spot in Melaka! 🐣 If you’re visiting the iconic Taming Sari area in Melaka — yes, the one with the revolving tower and surrounded by souvenir shops and other attractions — there’s one local delight you definitely shouldn’t miss: **Raja Cendol Taming Sari**! 🐣 This little spot is perfect for a refreshing break after sightseeing, especially when the Malaysia sun is out in full force. While Melaka is famous for its spicy and tangy *asam pedas*, cendol is another local gem that deserves your attention (and taste buds!). Loads of Cendol Options (Including Durian Lovers’ Heaven) 🐣 At Raja Cendol Taming Sari, you’ll find a wide range of cendol variations, especially for those who love durian. They’ve got different types of durian toppings available which, let’s be honest, can get quite pricey depending on the variety. 🐣 But for us? We decided to keep it classic and go for the **original cendol**, without any durian, to enjoy the pure taste without the strong aroma. Ordering system is straightforward: just head to the cashier, place your order, and pick it up yourself when it’s ready. More Than Just Cendol 🐣 Besides cendol, they also serve curry puff with different fillings like sardine, chicken, beef, and lamb. We tried them too and they were served warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Surprisingly, they go really well with a cold bowl of cendol! A Cool Escape in the Midday Heat 🐣 Eating cendol here during a hot Melaka afternoon is honestly one of the best ways to cool down. The sweet aroma of *gula Melaka* (palm sugar) hits you with the first spoonful. It’s rich and fragrant, but not overly sweet just right. One bowl comes generously filled with soft cendol and red beans. Paired with a gentle breeze? Bliss. 🐣 If you’re ever in Melaka and exploring Taming Sari area, make sure to drop by Raja Cendol Taming Sari. It’s a simple stop, but one that’ll definitely leave your taste buds (and maybe your Instagram feed) happy.

Delicious but expensive. "durian cendol" Durian cendol D24 & Durian cendol IOI (D101), Rm22.00 each (Rm44.00) two.

Cendol taste like "biasa je nyah" and over price. Staff not focus for order and bnyk "main²" but they do a good job...

took my mom n dad strolling around melaka. came about this cendol place years ago, so thought about having cendol again. D24 durian is OK. ample and generous amount.

This cendol does not even near the taste of authentic cendol like they usually sells on roadside. Everything inside this cendol tastes underwhelming so much it makes me sad.
Lisa R — Google review
I ordered normal cendol and it was 11 ringgit something then I add on longan fruit for 2 ringgit, to be honest the cendol doesn’t even taste like cendol for that price, normal 5 ringgit cendol beside roadside taste damn good then this 🙂 but i enjoyed the longan fruit , and the table also was made by plastic when u put ur hand it’s will bending, feel uncomfortable to eat .

Dumpling restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant streets of Jonker, East & West Rendezvous by Auntie Grace is a culinary gem that beckons food lovers with its renowned Nyonya rice dumplings, or Nyonya Zhang. Celebrated as the finest in Malacca, these dumplings are visually stunning thanks to their natural blue hue derived from blue pea flowers. Each bite reveals perfectly cooked glutinous rice enveloping delicious fillings that have made them a hot favorite among locals and visitors alike.
This ba Zhang is even better than those made by my grandma. OOPS, don’t tell her I said that! Tip: You can even ask them to heat up the ba zhang so you can eat it on the spot — and then, like me, completely lose control and end up buying more and more. I got the one with the brown rice and it was so flavourful! The fillings was also generous as each was filled w a fatty piece of pork.
Sandra T — Google review
Bought a Nyonya & Pork Dumpling takeaway. Pork dumpling was a good size with the usual ingredients like chestnut & pork (fat too). Nyonya was smaller with a unique taste from the usual. Preferred the Nyonya. Dumplings here were a little pricey from other joints. Also tried the shrimp dumpling, not bad.
Mike Y — Google review
Have been patronising this shop for many years. The Nonya version (@RM11) is full of ingredients and tastes delicious. The meat and salted egg version (RM17) is a bit too oily and salty for my taste. Overall, my family enjoys the yummy dumplings but they are indeed more expensive than other stalls.
Jacqi L — Google review
Recommend to try their cendol. The Melaka palm sugar was so fragrant. The cendol has a good texture to my preference, a bit crunchy, but also smooth. Portion was a bit small to me. Service was good. Owner was nice, and friendly. Price was reasonable. However, not much seating area.
Herin — Google review
23/5/25 Brought a few Nyonya dumping from this store.(Then price had increased just one day I brought for another 50 cents Xtra each ! )And a few Nyonya dumping (Homemade) from a push cart Auntie in front of Tan Kim Hock store. End up I preferred the taste from the push cart Auntie. Both quality and look almost similar but the tastes and favour was much difference.
Nicho T — Google review
Neighbour gifted me two regular dumplings from this store. Ate one. The tastes is there but the chunks of fats (chockfull of them) was overwhelming. Even though I removed the visible ones, I felt rather sick (fat overload kind of sick) after wards.

Very yummy 🤤! Bought 20, kept inside freezer, heated up two weeks later still very delicious and tasty 😋!

Justberrys Dessert House is a popular spot in Melaka known for its wide range of local, Taiwanese, and Hong Kong fruit desserts. Their specialty lies in creating delicate and refreshing treats using the 'king of fruits,' with their Durian Kanten with Fresh Pomelo being a top favorite. The generous portion sizes make it perfect for sharing after a day of exploring the city.
The desserts here are divine but the indoor seating is a bit limited, so we decided to enjoy our treats outdoors. We ordered through the QR code provided on our table and it was easy to pay too! The toast and waffles were freshly made and still steaming hot when they’re served. Yum!
AlifDW — Google review
Premium price for mediocre foods. Seasalt Yam Cheese Fountain (RM29.90) was a-okay. Got yam chunks inside. It’s probably because of yam is not that sweet in the first place; you can taste the sweetness of the yam but it was almost bland. I personally think that the cheese is not a good match since the saltiness kinda overpowered the already less-sweet-bland yam. Korean Spicy Sauce Seafood Rojak (RM28.90) truly left me speechless. I really don’t know where is the Korean or spicy in this. I was expecting something like special signature spicy sauce or at least buldak/samyang sauce but all I got is just a normal chili sauce. The food itself was just basically a yong tau foo stuffs (fish cakes, fish balls, bean curd skin etc.) in a bowl thrown with some peanuts, soy(?) sauce, drizzle with mayo and chili sauce, salad as decorations and done. I was truly stunned considering the price. The foods not worth a dime but the place itself was nice and cozy. Love the song choices too.
Ann — Google review
Food was very good and delicious. Varieties of interesting menu that you can choose. But I had to say, your staff services pissed me off a bit. I asked for the ice plain water which were not in the QR menu and the waiter said has to order manually then I did. First, he gives me warm water. I asked for ice plain water again. Secondly, he did give me ice plain water. Third time, my dad asked for ice cubes only. The waiter repeatedly said, 'mineral water???' , my dad replied 'no, ice only' then he returned with TAP WATER? My dad sees he did filled the cup with tap water and it does taste like tap water. Then we asked for ice cubes again , only then he gives us ice cubes with annoyed face. I mean, if you want us to pay the ice water, we will be gladly pays for it. Just hoping that you can fix this. It's such a pity to have an experience like this at a cafe that sells delicious food. Have a good day 🤍

Visited this restaurant recently and was pleasantly surprised by the durian cendol, which was rich, creamy, and absolutely delightful. The bingsu was also refreshing and enjoyable. However, the chicken karaage/popcorn chicken and fish finger were rather underwhelming — the chicken, in particular, was quite dry with minimal meat, making it tough and less satisfying. On a positive note, the ambiance was pleasant and cozy, food was served promptly, and parking was convenient. Arriving early around 12pm helped avoid any long waiting time. One important point to note: the restaurant does not have a halal certification, which may raise some concerns for Muslim diners.
Ieyla F — Google review
I’ve been here for so many times. Whenever I crave for sweets desserts, definitely come here. I have tried few types of bingsu. All delicious. The portion is quite big and can share for 2-3 people. My fav bingsu here so far is cendol and cheese fountain mango! So yummy! Service here also okay. The cafe environment is nice, good for photos. Recommended for people who craves bingsu to come here!

If you want come here, just come for the dessert, bingsu. But dont come here for the food. Ive ordered nasi lemak ayam merah, the sambal ayam is too spicy, the chillies not cooked properly. And Nasi lemak sotong spicy, the sotong is salty. Overall dont recommend for food.

Nancy's Kitchen is a must-visit in Malacca for an authentic Peranakan dining experience. The restaurant offers traditional Nyonya-style cuisine, including chicken candlenut, assam pedas fish, popiah, pie tee, Nyonya desserts, and cendol. With its intimate atmosphere and rich heritage of Peranakan cooking, this spot is beloved by culture enthusiasts.
Absolutely delicious. Managed to only take pics of 2 items we ordered coz forgot to take pics of the rest. Their pie tie and pongteh were amazing! The other dishes we ordered were also great.
Caitlyn L — Google review
We had Ayam Buah Keluak, Pai Tee, Itik sioh, Ba Wan Bebolah, and dessert cendol and durian mochi. The Ayam Buah Keluah was good though we didn’t order the buak keluak. Pai Tee has huge turnip but the fillings was dropping outside the plate while being served. Itik Sioh or duck with corriander spices was the worst I had eaten, meat was very tough and almost all bones and impossible to eat with utensils. It feels like left over parts and not cooked long enough. I was quite disappointed, since I expected it to be good from a highly rated restaurant. My hubby likes the durian mochi.
Patricia C — Google review
Overhyped, disappointed. Our first meal in Melaka was a let down as the serving looks like sad. There were flies flying around our food in this air conditioned restaurant… its a bit annoying. Kueh pie tee was the best! Salted Vege Duck Soup with wine - too much alcohol that it overpowers the taste of the soup. For the price, the portion is too little. Fried rice and fish was just normal… Can give it a pass.
Abby T — Google review
Pretty average local restaurant with good atmosphere - Pie Tee and Ngoh Hiang are rather ordinary, nothing really special. Duck Soup had a unique wine taste but it’s too heavy and out-shadowed the duck and salt-veg. A Medium serving was enough for 4 small bowls of soup. Ayam Buah had a flavourful chicken curry and the steamed fish with signature sambal/chilli sauce was unique (rather spicy). Felt like the highlight was the chendol; not too sweet, the gula melaka was well portioned with the beans and green… jelly(?).
Chris J — Google review
A popular Peranakan spot. Booking ahead is recommended. Service was fast, but flavours leaned salty and lacked depth. Starters: – Pai Tee: Crunchy tart shells with turnip, cucumber, and chilli—standard fare. – Otak-Otak Stim: Fish paste with coconut milk; likely frozen. – Telur Cincaluk: Briny omelette with fermented shrimp. – Nyonya Chap Chai: Soft veggie mix; overly sweet. – Sayur Keledek Sambal Belacan: Crunchy sweet potato leaves with shrimp paste chilli. Mains: – Ayam Buah Keluak (+ nut): Rich nut, but chicken was aged and gravy lacked punch. Nut charge separately. – Babi Pongteh: Lean pork, faint garlic, starchy gravy. – Itik Sioh 😋: Tender duck in tamarind-coriander sauce—surprisingly delicious. – Sambal Udang Petai: Sweet sambal, frozen shrimp, mild bitter bean. – Nasi Goreng: Looked good, tasted plain; no wok hei. Condiment: – Sambal Belacan: Spicy, salty chilli; good with rice. Drinks & Desserts: – Jus Kedondong Assam Boi 😋: Tart, refreshing sour plum juice. – Cendol 😋: Coconut milk, gula melaka, red bean, pandan jelly. – ABC 😋: Ice Kachang with corn, peanuts, jellies, rose syrup, and milk. – Gula Melaka Santan Durian Mochi: Shaved ice with durian mochi. Overall: Nostalgic but commercialised. A few hits, several misses. Chef’s passion didn’t quite come through.

First and last time at this place. Walked in for 2pax and was immediately told to go to the second floor. First impressions, no welcome and lighting is too dark - perhaps the food is good. From start to end, we were served by foreign looking male staff. That’s perfectly fine unless you are trying to position yourself as a nonya cuisine restaurant. Food was unexpectedly.. bad. Most of the dishes arrived room temperature. Only the soup was hot, but the plastic bowl was extremely hot too, meaning it was microwaved. Everything was bland, though not terrible tasting. Just below average. 0 hospitality as well. Kue pie tee- average Ayam buah keluak- the gravy was watery and lacked spices. The nuts were good though Fish curry with pineapple - bland but edible. Porkball with Crabmeat soup - the bamboo shoots had a strong unpleasant smell and were too large Kangkang sambal - OK Fish otak - tasted like store bought instant otak Rice - cold and hard
Kai — Google review
Atmosphere is good. Service is ok, food is… not as tasty as it is said. Most are plain flavored dishes. Good for foreign tourists to try but not good enough for local people?
Y S — Google review
Arrived here famished during a regular weekend lunch, no queue, plenty of tables. Ordered a variety of non-spicy dishes. Pie tee presentation is too crowded on a small plate, the sauce overflowing on the pieces. We especially enjoyed the ngor hiang and otak.

One of the best cendol that i ever have in Melaka. One of the special cendol is, cendol durian. The cendol taste also very nice. And the other food also not that bad. The service also very nice, I just love the environment inside the restaurant. Not many people coming for their food, but many people coming for their cendol, and I can understand why. Recommended to come there and try the cendol.

Homely little restaurant serving delicious authentic Nyonya Laksa (spicy but gooood). Do try their cendol too! (with Durian or plain) Come early as most of their signature dishes would be finished by lunch time. Uncle was so kind to recommend good place to buy Nyonya kueh :)

The cendol lives up to its hype at Jeta Groves! Gula Melaka was very rich and flavorful and combined beautifully with the coconut milk. Toppings were very generous. The servings are individually sized and a little bit too small to share so buy one each per person...at least!! 😋

Nyonya laksa and chicken roll (similar to lor bak) is pretty decent. The crown jewel is probably the durian cendol, but I can only wish there is more durian!

Try everything here but expect to wait. It is worth it. Lontong, mee jawa and mee siam are must-tries. Don't overlook the cendol. The best sifus of peranakan food reign in the kitchen and not foreign cooks.

Located in a spacious shoplot in a kampung area, it offers plenty of seating and self-service ordering. Alongside Nyonya cuisine, the place also serves traditional nyonya delicacies and ice products like durian cendol and ABC.
Super underrated nyonya snacks.must come and try. Cendol. Paitee is good. Better than those Big name franchise in the mall if you know.

Relaxing spot but somehow everyone here doesn't seem to smile or respond when I say thank you. Karipap too sweet for my liking. Mee goreng bungkus not bad. Paitee could be a bit more flavourful. Cendol noodles were good but gula melaka lacks oomph. Santan was fresh but ice needs work.
Kelvin T — Google review
Like durian cendol @ RM 9.90 nett & Ice white coffee @ RM 3.50. Laksa @ RM 8.90, Pai Tee (6 pcs) RM 7.90, Cold herbal Tea @ RM 2.80 tasted average.

Small little place that is located in one of the shops in this area. Specialises mainly in cendol (3 types) but have good assortment of nyonya delicacies. Service is pretty fast and parking, on the roadside, is plentiful. It's a self service place, prices quite affordable as well. Not much atmosphere, just like any coffee shop. But then, you are here for the good food, aren't you?
ES T — Google review
I would say this isn't the place you should travel far for. It isn't bad but not worth the distance. If you are near the hood and want to try different shop, why not. The cendol is alright but gula melaka isn't the most fragrant compared to other shops. The nyonya laksa is extremely lemak kind and strong flavour so I think that depends on your personal taste
Pui L — Google review
Delicious, wholesome, mouth watering Nyonya cuisine that is reasonably priced. The restaurant is also very clean. The durian cendol was definitely the highlight of the meal!
AW C — Google review
Ordered Chendol, laksa, mee rebus and rojak. Sorry to say I only like the laksa while the rest taste meh~. Chendol overly sweet, gravy of mee rebus is curry ( almost similar as the laksa one, just lighter in color), err isn’t it supposedly sweet potato gravy? Rojak sauce is not nice, lack flavor and little peanuts. The fried char kuey on it is not crispy at all. Self service which I like because can just take utensils by urself and no need to pay for service charge. Hope they can revise on the recipe.

It is highly regarded for its traditional flavors and home-style cooking, making it a popular choice for both locals and tourists eager to savor the rich heritage of Peranakan food. Due to its popularity, be prepared for potential wait times as it tends to draw large crowds, particularly during peak hours.
I came here on a Friday afternoon after the lunch crowd. Parking was quite easy to get. So there were seats available. The ambience is cosy, feels like you’re at your grandma’s house with the furniture that they used, green marble tables and antique wooden chairs. Was welcomed by the lovely ladies who were working there. I felt the sincerity of their hospitality. The food were all good. I came to eat with my partner and we ordered quite a few dishes- udang lemak nanas, ikan goreng cili garam, sambal sotong petai, puck paku belacan, bendi cili, cencalok omelette with the side of iced Chinese teas. All of their dishes were so delicious. They all came quickly. Prawn was huge, juicy and sweet, the dishes were not so spicy which is good for me, the fish was crispy, the portions were big. Our total came at RM225.00 which is very reasonable for me. I’d love to come here again next time.

Ordered chicken pongteh (a bit below my expectation, I prefer a thicker gravy), sambal sotong petai (tasty), cincalok egg was excellent and kerabu bendih was done just nice. Dishes are not spicy at all. For those who cannot eat spicy food, I think will be tolerable. Saw a lot of people ordered the fried chicken, but we didn't because of the pongteh and didn't want to over eat. Dessert had to be cendol which was OK. A nice family styled restaurant with friendly staff and fast service. Recommended for families with kids.

Nyonya restaurant
Amy Heritage Nyonya Cuisine, located at 75 Jalan Melaka Raya 24, is a must-visit for those seeking an authentic Peranakan dining experience. Headed by renowned chef Amy Koh, the restaurant offers a delectable array of dishes such as ikan gerang asam, ayam pongteh, and udang lemak nenas. The cozy atmosphere and meticulously prepared food with rich flavors make it a popular choice among locals and tourists alike.
Remembered having a meal at Amy Heritage Nonya Cuisine in Malacca some years ago, so when we drove pass that restaurant yesterday afternoon, we told ourselves we must make another visit (remembered it was good but somewhat forgotten the taste of dishes we ate). So this morning I sent a short message to the restaurant reservation number to make a reservation for lunch. Within 5 minutes, Oliver (son of Amy) replied to accept my booking. Great! Wifey and I arrived the restaurant just before 1pm. The external was a little run down (as should be since they had been operating for many years), the furnitures were old but everything was neat and tidy. Same old restaurant we knew. Oliver greeted us and led us to our table. Placed our orders quickly: Ikan Gerang Asam Udang Lemak Nenas Kangkung Belacan White Rice It was a pretty long wait for our orders to be ready. We kept ourselves occupied by browsing their accolades and watching activities within the restaurant. Oliver and the other serving staff were busy serving, meticulously clearing and cleaning used tables. Hmm…very hygienic. Our orders started to stream out after half an hour. Oliver apologized for the slow delivery of food. The Udang Lemak Nenas was uniquely wonderful. The gravy was so lemak yet not overpowering, in fact very appetizing. Six good size prawns with eight pieces of pineapple cubes in the rich but light gravy which I added to my rice “like soup”. I was literally spooning the gravy to drink. The Ikan Gerang was sourish and delicious. I normally don’t like sour food but this dish was so delicious. Three good slices of “steak cut” snapper fish (Ang Go Li) was used and it was so fresh! The Kangkung Belacan was just satisfactory (we later found out from Amy herself that her assistant cook probably didn’t follow her recipe strictly). Must say that our long wait for food was well worth it. Food served were authentically Nonya. Amy was very nice, she came out later to speak to diners and we had a long conversation with her. This 82 year old chef had kept herself well and very willing to share her recipes. We enjoyed our simple meal thoroughly and will surely patronize again whenever we’re in Malacca.

Love every dish especially the Ayam Pongteh and Lemak Ikan Asam. You can order all dishes which suitable for every taste. And the special thing is, we never see a huge bowl of cendol before 😂 The cendol is creamy with gula Melaka !

Came back to this awesome place for their food. Crunchy and delicious pie tee, we love the fried fish also. A must-try - crispy on the oitside but soft and flaky flesh , goes well with the dried chilli garam.

Came here to have dinner today for the first time and immediately when I walked in I was greeted warmly, this is what a good family-run restaurant should feel like, familiar and friendly even though it is your first visit. We had the pongteh chicken, chap chye and telur dadar cincaluk, and of course pie tee. The food was wonderful, very homely, just like the restaurant. Take a look at the pictures. The portions are quite generous so for small eaters like me, you're going to be very full by the end of the meal. I will return on my next visit to Melaka. I need to sample their curry chicken. The only down side of this place is that they only accept cash so head to the atm beforehand.

High recommend for those family with kids or senior citizens because the food is delicious and yummy. Their portion quite big although it mentioned as medium. For those spicy lover not so recommend as their food overall are less or no spicy and a little big sweet

Food is nice and tasty. Take note, they don’t have pork. The chap chai is nice. The ayam pontei also nice. Chendol was too sweet. And the ice too rough. Lady was rather impatient when we were doing payment.

Restoran Aunty Lee, a renowned Peranakan restaurant in Melaka, has been serving authentic Nyonya cuisine since 1997. Located in Ujong Pasir, this establishment is popular among locals and tourists alike. Chef Anthony de Costa, of Eurasian heritage, now leads the kitchen with the aim of preserving Aunty Lee's spirit by offering simple and genuine Peranakan dishes.
Auntie Lee is an excellent restaurant with authentic Peranakan cuisine, rich flavors, and beautifully prepared dishes. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the service is attentive, and every meal feels homemade and full of tradition — a must-visit for a memorable dining experience.

Lunch here was arranged by the travel agency. We had a good range of nonya food. My favorite food were the nonya sauce steamed fish, otah otah, ayam Ponteh and beef rendsng. The achar was refreshing with amazing sweet pineapple. Chendol desert was served in a big bowl and then distributed into small bowls at our table. Service was ok.

Nice! was recommended by a colleague and food was indeed very yummy! surprisingly not too spicy and just enough flavour to make you feel like having a second helping. 😋 completed with their chef recommended chendol which was very creamy with coconut milk and you can choose how much gula melaka to add based on your personal liking. 👍

Food is delicious. There were only two of us, so we ordered pai tee, beef rendang and ayam limau purut. All highly recommended. Dessert was ice kacang. The coconut milk was fresh and very fragrant, and the gula melaka is the real deal. Staff are very friendly. Aunty Lee moved from Ujung Pasir where parking was a problem. Now at this current location, parking is a breeze.

Food was amazing, atmosphere was nice and quiet at level 2. What shocked me the most was the extremely awesome and friendly staff, they were super amazing and kind. The Manager is a one of a kind man need more people like him, so wholesome and great service from him! In my opinion, the fried sotong, the egg and the cincalok and kangkong and the fishes they serve extremely fresh and amazing.

Our 3rd visit over a span of 10 years - food is consistently good. The egg sambal belachan udang and Ayam buak Keluak are so good! Authentic and delicious Peranakan cuisine.

Restoran Aunty Lee in Melaka is exactly the kind of spot you want to stumble into when you’re craving soulful Peranakan food. The environment is cozy and welcoming, tucked away from the touristy hustle—think simple décor, family-style seating, attentive service, and an unmistakable homely vibe. You’ll see generations of diners—local regulars and curious foodies—sharing tables and stories, with elderly staff adding a genuinely warm touch to the whole experience. It feels more like eating at a friend’s place than a formal restaurant, and that’s part of the charm. The menu is a playground for anyone who loves the flavors of true Nyonya fare. Lemak Kangkong is a must-have: water spinach simmered in a creamy coconut gravy, subtly spiced and studded with fresh prawns and slices of sweet potato—it’s comforting, rich, and the kind of dish that gets you spooning up every last drop. The Otak Otak here is served as a plump, savory slab, combining fresh fish paste with chili, lemongrass, and coconut milk, all wrapped and steamed into something fragrant and just spicy enough to keep you reaching for more. For a flavour bomb, don’t miss the Sambal Petai Sotong. This dish mixes tender squid with petai beans (those funky, crunchy bites foodies love!), all bathed in a fiery, aromatic sambal. It’s punchy, deeply savory, and perfect with rice. Then there’s Sotong Goreng Tepong—golden, bouncy fried calamari coated in spiced flour that’s impressively light and crisp, not greasy at all. Easy to polish off in minutes! And the absolute standout: their signature Cili Garam deep-fried fish. The fish arrives expertly fried, tender inside and crackling outside, topped with Aunty Lee’s own blend of salted chili paste. It’s a revelation—the paste is hand-pounded, packed with heat and fragrance, and complements the fish beautifully. Every bite is spicy, tangy, and totally addictive. Between the vibrant food and the easy-going atmosphere, you’ll find yourself lingering longer than you planned—and probably thinking about what you’ll order next time.

Food is good but nothing to shout. A bit Yes the pongteh a bit too sweet for me. Rendang beef quite good but not the best. Unfortunately the brinjal is tasteless and bitter I think burnt caramel sauce. Eggs omelette the best of all. The butterfly blue pea teh is unique.

Nyonya restaurant
Cottage Spices Nyonya Restaurant offers a cozy and authentic dining experience in Melaka. The restaurant is adorned with charming tiles and floral tablecloths, creating a warm atmosphere. Known for its Muslim-friendly Nyonya cuisine, the establishment's assam fish dish has received high praise from diners. Despite a relatively simple menu with smaller portions, the flavors are bold and satisfying.
This was my second visit to Cottage Spices Nyonya Restaurant in Melaka, and once again, it was a wonderful experience. We went during dinner time, and although it wasn’t very crowded, the atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. My husband and I decided to try some dishes we hadn’t tried on our first visit, and everything we ordered was delicious. The food was flavorful and authentically Nyonya. We also appreciated the personal touch from the lady boss, who came over to interact with us. She even offered us a new dessert to try, which was a lovely surprise — and it tasted great! We definitely plan to come back again whenever we’re in Melaka. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a warm, homey place to enjoy tasty Nyonya cuisine!

Cottage Spices is a home-run small business that is a must-visit if you prefer home-cooked Peranakan food. Their Telur Dadar Cincalok, Taufoo Kukus Bawang, Asam Pedas, and their Sambal Belachan, and their made on-the-spot Cendol Gula Melaka are simply out-of-this-world delicious! The restaurant setting is cosy, homely, nostalgic, and very relaxing. Every dish is made individually, so do expect to wait for a bit for your meals—but the wait is more than worth it once the food is in your mouth! Even the music is specially selected to create the utmost dining experience—the keroncong asli and langgam jawa tunes make for a wonderful lunch break or evening out! Staff are very friendly, helpful, and responsive, and create a beautiful dining experience for everyone! Will definitely return to try all the other dishes! Thank you so much!

Our must-go spot in Melaka—simple place, but the food never fails to impress. Lady’s finger with sambal belacan – first bite = (wish they sold the sambal in jars!) Ayam pongteh – always on our table. This time we also had prawns with petai + buah keluak ayam. A sweet aunty (staff) came over & taught us the “ultimate way” to enjoy it. Before heading home, we dabao’ed ayam pongteh & ayam kapitan (non spicy & kid-friendly). Guess what? Ayam kapitan is the new family fave. Pointed added - No “after-meal thirst” despite the rich flavors.

Had a great lunch. The restaurant is small but cozy. The servers are attentive yet not intrusive. Food taste is great, better than the so-called famous ones. Worth your trip here. Note, no reservation so be prepared to q or wait if you are coming during peak hours.

Every dish was delicious - we exceptionally liked the omelette and the ayam ponteh. The otak was the least impressive, in my opinion. Unfortunately we couldnt try any spicy dishes since we came with kids. Dishes are quite pricey by Malaysian standards, but can be stomached by the Singaporean wallet.
Melanie L — Google review
Came here on account of the high reviews but our meal here was just decent. The Udang Lemak Nenas (RM48) was five prawns served in a spicy-sour assam gravy, atop a bed of pineapple. Great with rice, though the prawns weren't too fresh. The Telur Dadar Cincalok (RM15) was disappointing, just salty omelette with veggie bits. The chendol (RM8) was pretty good though. Overall, can't say I would be excited to return the next time I'm here.
Darren — Google review
We came to Cottage Spicies Nyonya on Puri & Sue's recommendation. Pineapple was my favourite so I ordered the Udang Lemak Nenas (fried prawn with pineapple and coconut) and I love the mix of taste. We also tried their Daging Rendang. The beef was tender and rendang has a strong spice flavouring yet not too spicy. We completed our meal with a vege and a dessert - Terung Sambal (chilli egg plant) and chendol (what else to eat in Melaka right?). I recommend you to try their Passion Fruit Juice also, which has a soury and refreshing taste. Roadside parking is available directly outside the restoran (Malay spelling of restaurant) but we walked over since it was just a stone throw away from our hotel - Imperial Heritage Hotel.

Came here for lunch: 1) Udang lemak nenas 2) Otak-otak (personal fav) 3) Kang-kong belacan 4) Sotong sambal petai (i love the petai!) 5) Cendol (not too sweet, must try) My first LEGIT nyonya experience and would definitely come back at this place and will try other dishes next time. Price is reasonable and serving is good enough. Come visit this place, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Nyonya restaurant
Restoran Baba Ang is a must-visit in Melaka for those craving authentic Peranakan cuisine. Run by a husband-and-wife team, this restaurant offers home-cooked Peranakan dishes alongside local favorites like Chicken Kurma and Ayam Masak Merah. The menu features flavorful specialties such as Ayam Pongteh, Ayam Buah Keluak, and Ikan Cili Garam.
As far as food and service goes, Baba Ang is a 5-star experience. I can't speak to it's authenticity (I'm not Peranakan myself) but I can attest to the flavor. We ordered the pongteh dish, asam pedas and telor cincalok. While it may seem like a travesty that we didn't order the chendol (we aren't fans), the food was absolutely delicious. The pongteh offered a sweeter, thick gravy flavor and the asam pedas was great, (more asam, less pedas), as it was not as spicy as some other restaurants like to make it. It was also not as oily as we thought it'd be which is great. Telur was a nice addition with the two above with the rice to top it all off. Great experience, and we appreciate that the place was air-conditioned. Food was reasonably priced and the portions were very generous. (They will reduce the portion size and price accordingly depending on the number of diners so don't worry) DO message the friendly folk at Baba Ang for a reservation as this place can get pretty popular. We also like that the restaurant was situated in a home, added to that "home-cooked" feel. Don't be afraid to bring friends who are afraid of spice here. It won't kill them.

I loved everything here, very authentic and delicious nyonya dishes!! My favourites: ayam goreng berlada, pineapple curry shrimp, and pongteh. The cendol is also probably the best one I’ve tasted so far. The food is served very slowly though, and most of the staff don’t really understand English/Malay (?). Still, I want to come back and try more dishes for sure.

Tried this Nyonya restaurant in November 2025 during a weekend dinner hour. I called beforehand to make a reservation, but was told that for two pax, there’s no need to book — just walk in. I arrived around 6:45 p.m. and was seated immediately in a section for smaller groups, with no waiting time. It was my first visit after seeing some highly recommended posts on XHS. However, I would say the food was mediocre and didn’t really suit my taste. The Lemak Udang wasn’t to my liking — it had coconut milk but lacked the rich fragrance I expected. The Chap Chai (mixed vegetables), one of the chef’s recommendations, was okay but not impressive. The Baba Signature Ayam Goreng Berlada was the most flavorful dish, with bold spices and strong lemongrass and sambal chili which was not bad. I also tried their cendol, but again, it wasn’t my kind of dessert. The gula Melaka was served generously but had a very thick, sticky texture, which felt a bit jelak and too sweet. Overall, the food didn’t quite match my preferences, and the prices are slightly above average.

Babi chilli garam and the cincalok fried egg was good. Assam fish not that flavourful personally and salted grill prawns was okay. Cendol is okay. Orders taken and served by well trained foreigners. Plenty parking available.

Recommended by a fellow colleague of my spouse based in the historical town, this by-reservation-only traditional nyonya restaurant in the heart of Malacca represents one of the best kept cuisine traditions in true Malaysian fashion. And this also extends to the warm and welcoming interior that also serves as a mini museum of sorts in a nod to the nyonya culture which anchors the dishes on the menu. And oh lordy, the dishes ordered were as genuinely authentic as you can get. All the dishes are a literal labour of love, sweat and dedication. The highlight was undoubtedly the Lemak Udang Nenas which in many ways represents the heart of nyonya cuisine. All in all the rest of the other dishes were stellar as well and do come in a group if you want to sample more than a few of their dishes on the menu. Highly recommended.

Visited Melaka last weekend with my wife’s family and finally tried Baba Ang after hearing so much about it. We tried to reserve for either Saturday or Sunday, but were only lucky to get a table on Sunday at 11 am. When we arrived, the staff greeted us warmly, but it took a little while to find our reservation slip due to the busy crowd. Luckily, a friend recommended a dish not on the menu, which we pre-ordered—once we mentioned it, the owner quickly found our reservation, and we were promptly seated. We ordered three main dishes, including the pre-order dish: Rendang Chicken, Ikan Chili Garam, and Bak Goreng Tauge (pork with fermented red bean curd). Portions were generous—enough for 5–6 people depending on how many dishes you order. The Rendang Chicken was fantastic—the santan (coconut milk) was fresh and fragrant, creamy but light, and the chicken was moist with a lovely aftertaste. The Bak Goreng Tauge had a subtle fermented red bean curd flavor that complemented the pork perfectly. The pre-order dish was the highlight—fresh, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The Ikan Chili Garam was fried just right, with fresh fish and a fresh chili mix that added just the right amount of kick without being too spicy. We also tried their Cendol, which reminded us a lot of Auntie Koh’s version. The santan was smooth and fresh, though here the gula melaka was stronger and red bean was added, giving it a richer twist. There are still one or two more pre-order dishes not on the menu that we’re excited to try next time. Overall, a fantastic meal! I’d highly recommend making a reservation—weekday, weekend, or public holiday—as getting a table by walking in can be quite tricky.

10/25/2025 - Lunch Entering the premises, feel's good, feel's relax. Everything is fine until the food served, food texture, colour, smell all good but the taste. For our order, asam shrimp is dry, stir fry vege is acceptable, asam fish lack of spicy and sour, buah keluak ayam + bak is lack of taste. Anyway the Cendol quite good.

15/7/2025 #说走就走 (676) - BABA Nyonya Cuisine Vaba Ang Nyonya Restaurant is the pinnacle of Malacca’s Peranakan cuisine, renowned for serving the finest Baba and Nyonya dishes. This restaurant is well-loved for its authentic flavours and is situated at a corner of Bandar Hilir. The entrance is located at the back of the building, and there is free parking within its compound, to ensuring convenience for all guests. As soon as you step into the restaurant, you will be attracted by the charming Peranakan-themed design of the interior. (Remember, it is safe to make a reservation before coming) We ordered some of their signature dishes. Nyonya meals are inseparable from pongteh chicken and meat, which is one of the key dishes in a Nyonya restaurant. The soft potatoes and chicken, as well as the sauce, are a must-order Nyonya dish if you have enough people. (Due to the fiid portion is big)The sambal shrimp, fresh shrimp, and the fragrant Nyonya chili recipe are appetizing. Nyonya curry fish, the fresh fish meat is cooked in thick Nyonya curry, which makes people's taste buds so delicious that they have to add rice. In order to neutralize all the spiciness, we ordered stir-fried sweet potato leaves, which were large in portion and soft in leaves, and did not disappoint. Another cincalok fried egg, which is salty and provides protein, is a good side dish. Nyonya braised pork, a meat marinated in traditional Nyonya marinade, but the meat was not elastic enough that night, and it would be better if it could be softer. Overall, it is a traditional Nyonya food that is worth eating.

We went here for a culture and heritage. If you go to Malacca without visiting Jonker, then you are not really visiting Malacca. The market is quite long and have a lot of items available from foods, souvenirs and clothes. Beside hawker stall, few shops are also open. The vibe here is very nice, lot of people, crowded but it's good tho. Parking can be struggle around this area so make sure to plan your arrival well. From here you also can walk to others historical spots like afamosa, makam hang kasturi, museum, menara jam and stadhuys. Some items here are quite rare too. The view are also very nice, classic architecture and wonderful experience

Jonker Street (Jalan Hang Jebat, Melaka) Located in the heart of Melaka’s Chinatown, Malaysia Jonker Street, officially known as Jalan Hang Jebat, is the vibrant soul of Melaka’s Chinatown — a lively stretch famous for its night market, heritage shophouses, antique stores, cafés, and street food. Once home to wealthy Peranakan (Straits Chinese) families, the street’s architecture reflects centuries of cultural fusion — Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese, and British influences all intertwined in ornate façades and wooden shutters. By day, Jonker Street is a charming lane of antique dealers, art galleries, craft shops, and traditional bakeries, selling everything from vintage cameras and porcelain to pineapple tarts and handmade jewelry. When night falls, the entire street transforms into one of Malaysia’s most beloved night markets — buzzing with food stalls, music, and lights. Visitors can savour local favourites like chicken rice balls, cendol, Nyonya laksa, satay celup, and fried radish cake, while browsing through rows of souvenirs and handmade crafts. The air is filled with laughter, the aroma of grilled skewers, and the rhythm of buskers performing under lanterns. Beyond its food and fun, Jonker Street is also a living museum — a place where heritage, commerce, and community coexist. Nearby attractions include Cheng Hoon Teng Temple (Malaysia’s oldest Chinese temple), Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum, and Kampung Kling Mosque, all within walking distance. Today, Jonker Street remains the beating heart of Melaka’s old town — a symbol of multicultural Malaysia and a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience its historic charm, creative energy, and timeless street life.

This hidden gem offers a warm and relaxing atmosphere with its scenic plants and nostalgic decor. Indulge in a variety of delectable Western dishes and desserts, including their renowned fluffy pancakes available in flavors like Durian and Kaya.
We had a really lovely experience at this spot in Malacca. I ordered a smoothie bowl that was absolutely excellent – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We also tried the cheesy sandwich with eggs, and the eggs were especially impressive: perfectly cooked and very well seasoned. The hazelnut coffee was incredible, and I really appreciated the fact that they offer a variety of milk options. The atmosphere is another highlight – very relaxed, surrounded by greenery and vintage decor, with great background music at just the right volume. The only small detail we’d suggest is serving the coffee a bit hotter, but overall the place is charming and definitely worth a visit

Actually the food quality worth more than 1 star and overall definitely more than 2 starts. Unfortunately, the cold brew coffee is contaminated and 3rd party delivery not willing for refund. Sorry but the 3rd party delivery makes me feel the cafe is not apologetic at all regarding their non fresh food quality. Do not order their cold brew for takeaway. Or rather order anything that can be freshly made. Pandan pancake indeed very good. Gula Melaka fillings makes the entire pancake taste so delicious. With or without the shredded coconuts are good. Risotto with black ink above average but definitely not something I will wow having it. Drinks is no no to me specially for takeaway. Contaminated coffee and salted ice chocolate tasted weird and not strong chocolate is taste. In housing dining is always crowded that’s why we chosen 3rd party delivery option to try the food and drinks. Ambience is good, one of the few nicely renovated and photographic cafes at jonker street. Please take note of your cold brew and ensure it’s good or rather consumable before handling to consumers. Kinda disappointed thou.

Started the morning at The Daily Fix Café and it was such a lovely way to begin the day. The cozy, photo-worthy space tucked behind a gelato shop was packed but worth the wait. The Local Pandan Pancake was crisp on the outside and soft inside with rich gula melaka syrup and coconut that we wished came in an extra scoop. The Fish and Chips were golden, crunchy, and perfectly paired with garlicky tartar sauce. The Signature Salted Gula Melaka Coffee was smooth and balanced, while the TDF Dirty Latte with earl grey milk and ristretto was outstanding. A must-visit every Melaka trip. 📸 Follow @ayaalan.foodie for more foodie reviews!

Went there to grab a quick dinner. Ordered smoked duck aglio olio pasta and onde-onde cake. The meal came quickly and freshly-made. The pasta was very flavorful, and the cake was light, not overly sweet and delicious. The cafe has a very nostalgic and rustic vibes. The restroom was comfortable. This is a great option in Jonker Walk area after a long walk, especially since a lot of other cafes close earlier. The services were nice and warm.

The queue was long, but manageable bcs you get to shop around first and get a scoop of gelato like me! The souvenirs were so cuteee too, it’ll easily keep you occupied while waiting. Gelatos were chef’s kiss!! Then we had big breakfast and no-meat spaghetti. Portion was enourmous, good for sharing. Taste wise — its was pretty nice. Amazing ambiance, definitely instagram worthy. Should check it out if you have time.

This is kind of like the IT spot in town right now. So, especially if you’re coming on a weekends, be prepare to queue. I went there on a Sunday for brunch, and the wait was around 1 hour. They have seating area on 2 floors, but if possible, ask for the one on the ground floor. Because once you got a table, you need to order at the cashier which is only available on the ground floor. Also the stairs were a bit steep. For the food, we got the Eggs Benedict, Onion Rings, and Pandan Pancake. The Eggs Benedict was ok but the egg is slightly overcooked for this style. Pancake was nice, it was fluffy and got that coconut gula melaka filling. Onion rings were as expected. For the drink, got juice, latte, and iced chocolate. Iced chocolate was a bit bland for my preference, as it has more milk with a slight taste of cocoa powder. As for the other 2, both were ok. The staff was welcoming & kind. Food came rather slow but understandable due to the number of guests they have. — do check their opening hours before coming. They closes early on Friday-Sunday (5.30pm)

Mmm. The service is ok only given they use QR scan for customers to take their own order. Only service is when they bring the food to the customers. Nostalgic deco and warm atmosphere, but the seating is not comfortable. Table is too close to the cabin stool. Food - nasi lemak is ok and I quite like it. However, the chicken chop is pretty bad on the meat. It’s not fresh. The sauce is too sweet… Drink - I ordered a state coffee but the taste of it doesn’t taste too local and very thin flavour. I’ll reserve my stomach space for other restaurants that offer way better food than here.

Stumbled across this cafe late evening and thought let’s sit down for a coffee. I was shown to a table by a very polite slim handsome young man who gestured for me to use the QR thingy….as I’m not that good with these modern ways I asked if he had a normal menu and hay presto he popped one on my table. After much debate I chose a strong dark coffee K03 and gestured to him I was ready to order. He easily took my order via his hand held device and within a short while the coffee arrived. To say I absolutely love coffee would be an understatement and this one was absolutely stunning, lush strong flavours but no bitterness. I will be back for another and enjoy some food to go with it in the next few days.

What's good for dinner? This place packs some real good dishes, be it enjoyed individually or by sharing. Ordered the Calanthe Laksa Noodle Soup, Curry Laksa, Signature Laksa, Creamy Curry Butter Chicken, Tom yum. Also a Western meal to add to our degustation. Interesting 13 States Coffee for your preferential enjoyment. Good ambience and apt for those who likes to photograph and share online.

Unique experience to try coffee from 13 states of Malaysia. While each has its own distinctive taste, I like the one from Penang, Melaka, Johor and Kelantan. Best part it comes with a take home cup from the place. Nice.

An excellent place for a coffee break in the hot afternoon near Jonker Walk. We parked at a nearby open parking space and walked here easily. I enjoyed the cold homemade sour plum drink since I’m not into coffee and it was too hot for trying out hot chocolate myself. Family enjoyed our time relaxing here, which has a small indoor fish pond and plenty of retro kitchenware hanging on the wall. The crepe cake was fine while the waffle was small and unimpressive. Overall, a recommended cafe around Jonker area.

We dropped by this cafe for some coffee and nyonya laksa. The decor is very creative, a mix of retro and art. Chairs were comfortable and the staff were friendly and attentive. Coffee from 13 states of Malaysia are on offer. The Selangor and Kedah coffee was good as was nyonya laksa. A nice place for local coffee around Jonker Walk.

Went there during a weekday and didn’t have to wait at all. Tried their Laksa and it was good. Ordered the Kelantan coffee too and was aromatic and quite good. Our coffee and Laksa took some time to arrive though. But overall a great place for food and great ambience with antiques and old decos.

Restaurant
Wild Coriander Melaka is a restaurant located by the Malacca River, offering a modern twist on Peranakan cuisine. It's recommended to dine outdoors after sunset when the river lights up. The pork-free establishment serves individual portions of dishes such as Laksa and Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang, along with starters like Pie Tee and Fruit Rojak for sharing.
Wild Coriander is an extremely rare gem in Malacca we called home besides the Danang Novotel Han River Square and the Novotel Nha Trang Square in Vietnam Thank you for the heavenly hospitality, delicious, scrumptious, savoury, and delightful dishes. Beautiful dining surroundings with great ambience. The best compliment goes to the F&B staff of Marco, Carson, Phyo, Khin and the entire service team and wonderful chefs in the kitchen! It was a truly enjoyable Malacca trip for the last 4 days. Started with a memorable birthday lunch for my wife at Coriander and ended with a fantastic, delicious dinner with great hospitality from the Coriander team on the final day. It's truly unforgettable!! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

Nice atmosphere, with the bright coloured walls and paintings to the relaxing background music. Marco was our waiter, who was very chatty and fun. We ordered nasi lemak with chicken curry and the beef rendang. Both very enjoyable. For desert you have to order the house specialty, chendol. Best in Malaysia !!! After your meal, you an have a walk along the river.

Come here for lunch, to avoid the crowded during dinner time, don’t have to wait for table during lunch time you can always make reservation. Nice food, big portions, Nyonya food but less spicy. Many choices for both a la carte options and set menu for large group. Ordered 2 main course 1 dessert for sharing in a group of 3 persons. And we are so full. Nasi lemak special comes with 4 different kinds of rice so we get to try different varieties and texture of the rices, they are all perfect match with rendang chicken. The Acai behind mixes is also a perfect combination of the whole meal. Nyonya laksa is good too, spicy and sour that is so appetising. Soup texture is creamy and thick, the sambal given is also an additional point of the whole meal if you’re looking for spicier dishes. Lastly, cendol is sweet and salty make it a little different from the cendol outside. Very refreshing after having heavy meals. Overall, it is tasty and will definitely come back again for other dishes too.

Beautiful and cozy restaurant with delicious food (a bit spicy for me, but amazing!). Huge thanks to Carson for his warm service and helping us take photos, which made the experience extra special. Don’t miss the “Cendol” dessert! After the meal, the riverside walk behind the restaurant was the perfect touch. Highly recommended! 🌿

Can be quite busy so it is good to make a reservation first, otherwise you may need to wait for a table. We ordered (in order of preference): 1) Prawn Sambal, 2) Curry Sea Bass, 3) Wild Coriander Special (chicken rendang), 4) Nyonya Chap Chye. All were delicious (especially the prawn sambal). We also had the Sago Pudding, it is alright but I had better. Waiters can be busy but they try their best to serve you quickly.

Restoran Tong Sheng, strategically located in Malacca Central, is a popular spot for food enthusiasts from all over Malaysia and beyond. The restaurant is renowned for its signature Milk Crab dishes, featuring a delectable blend of tangy and spicy flavors in a creamy soup base. With a minimum order of 2 crabs per table and seasonal pricing, it's ideal to visit with friends or family.
It’s my first time here and everything was so amazingly delicious! The taste was so on point! Especially the squid! It is a must order in my opinion! To avoid the queue do remember to book early through their website. The meal was so absolutely delicious, we left forgetting to pay, busy reminiscing abt the flavours of dinner 🤣🤣🤣🤣 but the restaurant was very nice they called us to check nicely if we had paid or not and not shamed us. Great service and great food. I will definitely be back!

The food was great, definitely come here for the steamed cod, very delicious. The service was great, offered us napkins when we needed it and appetisers at the start of the meal even when we didn't ask for it. The atmosphere, they were playing good music. I would rate this place 10 stars. I know I cant rate it 5 stars but read my review, I rate it 10 stars.

Be there early about 5pm or to made advance reservations. The queue is as usual long. The cheese bee Hoon was not too salty and could taste the cheese in the sauce. The prawn is fresh and mid-size. I like the gan hong shrimp is nice and tasty. Will definitely order again if get to go Tong Sheng.

There is no Q during lunch time and that surprise me. Usually it is an hour wait. After ordering our food, the serving time is long and the food standard have dropped a lot, that should explain the Q. The food is expensive and not excellent. There is only one miserable prawn for a small size cheese beehoon. Total bill for 3 dishes cost 198rm. Not a recommended place in Melaka anymore.
Wen B — Google review
Won’t recommend . First time here and ordered their cheese prawn beehoon and black pepper crab , the cheese prawn beehoon was decent however the black pepper crab is definitely not fresh , seen on photos , the meat all stuck to the shell . Confronted the staff and he said they fry the crab before cooking . Able to let me know if a crab is fresh , why is there a need to “fry” it before cooking it? There’s only one good reason when the crab meat is stuck to the shell and the restaurant fried it before cooking, it’s very likely because the crab was already dead before they started cooking. Most likely fried it to fix the texture of the crab. Terrible , and the in charge still say alot of people like their this kind of “old crab” - meat stuck to the shell kind ?? LOL JOKE.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wow, it’s been over 5 years since we last visited Tong Sheng, and coming back was so worth it! The food is still as amazing as we remembered. Every dish was full of flavor and super tasty. The famous cheese noodle is a must-try. It was so creamy and satisfying! And the suckling piglet? Absolutely delicious, crispy on the outside and tender inside. Definitely a solid 5 stars!

A very popular Chinese Seafood Restaurant in Maleka. Always has a long queue waiting outside the restaurant before it open for business daily. Our group of 9 persons pre-booked a time slot for dinner 1 week in advance so that we needn't have to join the queue. We ordered their Signature Cheesy Bee Hoon, a roasted Suckling Pig, Salted Egg Crab, Black Pepper Crab and a fried Mixed Vegetables and all were very delicious. Roti Canai Kayu Arang Melaka is a popular spot known for its unique cooking method using charcoal to heat up the griddles when making roti canai. This traditional technique has garnered attention on social media, especially for their Roti Canai Nachos.
ℹ️This place is not temporarily closed btw Great roti canai, sarang burung, and teh tarik. The atmosphere is quite smoky and hot, but the service is friendly and good. The road leading to this shop is narrow and “hidden”, definitely an interesting find!

Came on Monday morning n quite many diners r already present. Plenty of tables. Have to queue n pay first while stating which table number to order the many choices available. However, in my case, many of the 'other' vendors hav yet to set up shop. I selected the Roti Sardin n yes, quite like this one. Soft n portion big though wished it was a bit more crispy. Father loved the plain roti canai while wife was able to finish-off her roti doll. We all loved the cekodok n lempeng kelapa. Drinks too was tasty. Service was fast but I was told weekend crowds r huge so I guess they're used to working fast. Parking is limited yet I recommend to come here to try their unique roti canai kayu arang n others.

Stopped by Roti Canai Kayu Arang to try out their Bird’s Nest Roti Canai with toppings, and I must say—it did not disappoint. I came alone, so I only had the chance to try one dish, but even that was enough to leave a lasting impression. The roti was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, shaped beautifully into a bird’s nest that looked as good as it tasted. The topping was savoury and flavourful, with just the right balance of spice and richness. The curry and sambal on the side were bold and perfectly matched the roti. The café atmosphere was also very relaxed and customer-friendly. Although I only sampled one dish during this solo visit, I’m confident the rest of the menu holds equally impressive gems. Overall? Excellent! Thumbs up!

If this is a first time you come to eat here, it will be overwhelming to you. They have their own system where you need to line up before you can grab a table. Then while you line up with your family members, do look around for their huge and long list of food and drinks. Then when its your turn to order, the cashier will ask how many people of your party and she will assign a table to you. But before you can sit, all your family members must order right there at the cashier. All food and drinks and paid there. Then you can go to your assign table and waiting for your food. Their nasi lemak come with kangkung, their nasi goreng kampung and nasi goreng daging also good. Nasi lemak ayam and soto not bad. Roti canai also good. There is stall selling ayam gunting which is also good and crispy. Tips : if you want to add order after you paid and sit, just go straight to cashier and tell the cashier. No need to que.

Perhentian Kuih Kampong (Semabok) is a popular dining spot known for its wide array of traditional Malay kuihs and other local delicacies. The spacious restaurant, also referred to as Kedai Bawah Pokok due to the presence of a large angsana tree, attracts both locals and tourists with its colorful selection of kuihs from Melaka and other states.
Have been patronizing this establishment for 30+ years & the food here is still super delicious! Absolutely love their Roti Canai, Kacang Pool, Nasi Lemak, Soto Ayam, Asam Pedas, etc. They use to be at Ujong Pasir & recently moved here. It's more windy & spacious at this new place with more parking space. Love this place!
Eslina K — Google review
Tried popia basah, nasi lemak ayam, colourful kuih muih tradisional, mee goreng. And overall taste was so-so. Pros: - spacious sitting & parking. - clean - price is affordable; rm0.50 for most of the kuih - easy access as it is located next to main road. - friendly & fast service. Cons: - there is no "kick" in sambal hijau & sambal nasi lemak. - crowded during the weekend & public holidays.
Megatshamsul N — Google review
The main dishes were generally good. The Asam Pedas suited our taste well. The ayam rendam + sambal hijau was alright, though the sambal wasn’t very spicy. The keli + sambal berlado also wasn’t too spicy, we called pedas manjah. We didn’t get to try the kuih-muih as we were already full 😂 Maybe next time for a more complete review. Service, from taking orders to payment, was quite efficient. Waiting time was reasonable, around 10–15 minutes. Parking can be a bit challenging if it gets crowded.
Assaidah A — Google review
A lot of sweet and savoury selections of kuih. Including local breakfast such as nasi lemak, roti jala and roti canai. There are ample parking at the back of shop. But as it was not properly covered so probably not ideal to park when it rains or after heavy rains. Overall the food was good.

We were looking for a place for lunch when arriving on our trip to Melaka. After searching for some places, Perhentian Kuih Kampong came out as our choice to try. This places offers an assortment of Malay Kuehs, which is rare in a single shop. We say the Kueh hit the spot quite nicely without being overly priced, not too sweet, and with the right “lemak-ness”. 😅 (but of course this depends on individual taste buds lah). We ordered the Nasi kerabu with grill chicken and Nasi ayam (chicken rice) For the Nasi kerabu, Rice and the gravy and vege condiments were nice with the right spiciness, but the chicken was a bit dry. The Chicken rice was however not quite up to the palate but “alright”. It should be juicy, and the right lack the fragrance of the “chicken rice”. In conclusion, this is a reasonably acceptable place for a good lunch with the variety of options, and can be tried out on your next visit to Melaka. Quite a few patrons were seen ordering “ikan Assam pedas”… was thinking… 🤔 is this their popular dish? 😉 Note: it’s about 15 mins drive away from the city Centre in a place called Semabok.

If you're a fan of traditional Melaka kuih, this spot is worth a visit. We particularly enjoyed the karipap, with its crispy golden crust and flavorful filling, and the bingka ubi, which was perfectly sweet and rich in texture. The pulut kuning with rendang ayam was a standout—soft, fragrant rice paired with tender, flavorful chicken rendang that left us wanting more. However, the nasi lemak was average, lacking the bold flavors we were hoping for. While not every dish impressed, the overall experience was satisfying, especially for those seeking authentic kuih and hearty local fare.

We went to Restoran Perhentian Kuih Kampong in Semabok, Melaka for lunch. They had lots of local dishes, including Melaka's famous Asam Pedas and Nyonya Laksa, as well as Nasi Ayam and different kinds of soup. There were many other choices too. For the three of us, the total bill was RM 33.50. We ordered Nasi Ayam, Nyonya Laksa, and a set of Keli Sambal Berlado. We found seats easily when we arrived, and there was parking available. We didn't have to wait long for our food. The taste was pretty good, maybe a 7 out of 10 for us. The place was clean, and the environment was nice. It looks like they also serve breakfast in the morning. Overall, it was a good experience!"

Despite being crowded, the efficient queue system ensures that diners are seated quickly. The kaya butter toast is a standout item, with well-toasted bread and sweet kaya contrasting perfectly with slightly melted salted butter. The prawn noodles are flavorful and have a springy texture, while the Sarawak Mee is described as delicious.

There is Q when we reached around 930am but the boss will arrange the seat for you which is quite good, at least no need worry to grab seat or stand beside ppls to wait for table. You will need to go counter and order drinks and bread which I feel very systematic as well. The food just normal for me which not worth for the Q, chicken rice is not bad, prawn mee soup is quite light if you are the one who don't like too thick or oil soup you will like it. If no need to Q too long, it's worth to come over.

Morning crowds but they have a queue system that works fine. We ordered our drinks and snacks ie nasi lemak packs, local Kuih muih, toasted bread, eggs and snacks at the counter while for food you just go to the respective stores to order. Chicken rice, prawn noodle and curry noodles are good. Toasted bread and soft boiled eggs didn’t disappoint. Drinks are good too. Overall a good place to eat local hawker food. Only gets a bit noisy and crowded in the morning and less crowded later on.,

A traditional Chinese coffee shop for breakfast and able to look for parking along left and right of the street. A short queue in front of us, manage to cleared within 5 minutes time and staff lead us to our table. 3 main food stalls including Sarawak Kolo mee, with some noodle list, another stall is Nyonya laksa, last stall offering chicken rice, “lobak”, stuffed beancurd which looks nice to me. We could order drinks, Nyonya Kuih, Chinese dumpling, kaya butter toast, half boiled egg at counter and paid at the same time. Foods and drinks served fast within 10 minutes time which is efficient and agile. Kolo noodles simply tasty with additional flavours from the minced meat and pork lard, whereas laksa enriched with coconut and spice with mouth watering broth. Prawn noodle is flavoursome and with generous portions of prawns. Angku Nyonya kuih is good but the tea is not up to normal standard. Nevertheless we did enjoy the breakfast and will come again to try on other menu. Revisiting this place and had updated few photos, food is still awesome as before.
Sheah W — Google review
I enjoyed their local kaya butter toast, laksa, prawn noodles and coffee. The rest were just average if you’re only looking to try or having a no-frills breakfast. I was disappointed with their yong tau foo 👎🏼 — hopefully the stall owner can improve the soup recipe and keep the ingredients fresher. Their homemade pineapple tarts were very sweet and quite generous with the topping. Not the best I’ve had, but I’m sure they’d go well with a hot cup of tea or coffee—preferably without sugar 😅. P.S. Be prepared to wait a bit for the toasts.
Monda S — Google review
A great local breakfast spot, it indeed attracts lot of tourist, so expect to queue. The food overall was ok not fantastic, the popular one are nyonya laksa, kolo mee. But what I like the most was the packed of Nasi lemak. Drinks were ok too.

A long time go-to place for breakkie and brunch for many locals and tourists alike within the heart of Malacca. There's now even more choices and variety within the few stalls located here which is really welcomed. Of particular noteworthy mention includes the nyonya styled curry laksa, and the chicken rice balls. There's also a stuffed tofu (yong tofu) stall at the back end which has a good selection to pick from provided you get here early. The freshly hand brewed kopitiam styled coffee and tea drinks are pretty much up to snuff and something to look forward to here as well. Pair these drinks with the toasted bread with kaya and butter for a snack worthy of deities! All in all a fantastic breakfast place and highly recommended.

Eating here feel a bit rushed, maybe come before 9am. After that, more people come and starting a queue. the food especially chicken rice, taste less fragrant, and the chili falls into more sour side. Could be improved. The tea is very good. Restoran Kok Keong is a family-owned eatery that has been serving up their famous bak kee for over seventy years. The current owners, the granddaughter and grandson of the original proprietor, continue to uphold the tradition of quality and flavor. Their signature dish features flour-coated pork slices cooked with belly, intestine, liver, and beancurd skin in a flavorful meat soup reminiscent of Bah Kut Teh but with its own unique twist.
Eat the mix pork soup with yam rice was nice, can match nice with each other. The vegi very fresh and cooked ngam ngam thus is crunchy😍 Bursting Pork ball really bursting but taste normal, try eat with their soup then taste will be in rich flavor😍

Came about 2PM on Saturday. Still quite crowded. Ordered the combination set for 2 pax. Came with lean meat, belly meat, liver, intestines & tofu. Ordered extra veggie & bursting meatball. Refillable broth; though it was just ok for me. Could be stronger & more flavorful. But the meat were done perfectly; the bursting meatball were especially delicious! Yam rice also very flavorful & delectable. Overall, a good meal.

Ready to be queued on a weekend. The shop isn't big and the tables are very packly arranged. I would say the food isn't worth the long queue kind cause it isn't extraordinary but if you have time and u want something alittle different from typical melaka food, I guess still okay la.

The meatball is better than the pork belly and pork meat. The soup is sweet based, tasted somewhat similar to Singapore kway chap (sweet version).

Heard about this restaurant, so give it a try. Very thoughtful they have different varieties of combinations for you to choose. Yam rice is well cooked and aromatic. Fresh ingredients. The lean meat texture is good, and i think a coat of corn flour is coated on the meat before cooking it, thats why its silky smooth on the outside and tender inside. The soup is aromatic and flavourful. Friendly stall owner. Reasonable pricing. Definitely worth eating.

A well known dining place for the local.. Claimed since year 1933 The pork slices are tenderised and of good taste. The belly pork is not too fatty The soup broth which is unlimited and self help. Today, I visited Hock Kee Confectionery, but unfortunately they were closed even though Google indicated that they were open. It was disappointing because I had come a long way for their delicious confectionery. However, later in the day, I saw the staff baking their pastries and although they couldn't sell me any goods as they were closed, they kindly directed me to a nearby confectionery store where HockKee bakes for.
Had a great experience placing my order through WhatsApp, Kai, the owner, was incredibly friendly and quick to respond when I text at 9.30pm. Provided to make payment online immediately as instructed. I highly recommend their pastries! The chicken siew bao was absolutely delicious, even when consumed the next day. The famous crispy waffles and buttery milk pastry (太阳饼) were fresh and flavorful, and they could seal them upon request for gifting. I’ll definitely be back for more the next time I’m in Malacca! Thanks Kai & staff!

Much bigger outlet than the Jonker Street one, and with fewer customers. Would advise coming to this outlet to avoid the queue or if you are staying around the area. As mentioned in my other review for the Jonker Street outlet, get the pineapple tarts and heong piah! The peanut waffle biscuit was available here, which tasted nicer than the chocolate one. However, it definitely did not live up to the hype still. Would only recommend trying it if there's no queue.

Absolutely delicious biscuits! So crispy and flavorful — you can't stop at just one. They have that perfect crunch and a taste that keeps you coming back for more. If I drop by Malacca again, I’ll definitely come back to purchase more. Highly recommended!

Hock Kee Confectionery – Local Treats Worth Grabbing in Malacca A lucky early-morning visit to Hock Kee Confectionery beat the crowd and scored some standout local goodies. Known for their sun pastry, pineapple cake, and waffle biscuits, this spot is a must-visit for snack lovers. Tambun Biscuit (RM 16 for 16 pcs) – Thin crust, generously filled with smooth, savoury filling. Crumbly and melt-in-your-mouth—far better than the usual thick-crust versions. Pineapple Cake (RM 30) – Comes in original, green tea, and charcoal. Buttery, crumbly shell with chewy, sweet-tangy pineapple filling. The green tea version adds a nice earthy twist. Waffle Biscuit (RM 3.50/pc) – Available in peanut or chocolate. Super crispy with loud crunch and nostalgic flavours. Peanut version is nutty and rich; chocolate brings childhood vibes. Minimum 4 packets (RM 14). If you're in Malacca, this is a great spot for last-minute shopping and tasty souvenirs.

(Menu pricing is attached in my review.) I STRONGLY RECOMMEND the SUN PASTRY and WAFFLE BISCUIT here. We came to Melaka specifically from JB just because we were craving to buy these two items. The chicken siew bao is nice also!!! The environment is clean and location is easy to find. I used to eat sun pastry in Taiwan, but the sun pastry from this shop is definitely good as well. The taste is so good and so rich, and sweet as well. For waffle biscuits, there are chocolate and peanut flavors. Both flavors taste good and are not too sweet. I personally recommend the peanut flavor. They seal them very well; even after 5 or 6 days, the waffle is still very crispy and delicious. The sun pastry can last for 3 weeks and the waffle biscuit can last for 1 week. Both items do not require refrigeration. I will definitely visit again!!!!

Saw people buying their waffle with a dramatic amount by XiaoHongShu make me curious and wish to try. Saw the Jonker branch looks need to queue order, so I try to book through WhatsApp and they told me no need to book since amount not a lot. No choice then I have to wake early and come around the shop open 9am. Luckily just 1 customer only, but when I finished make payment and come out, there's 20+ customers at the entrance XD. I buy their signature waffle biscuit (at least need buy 4), pineapple cake, sun pastry, heong peng and egg tarts. Egg tarts just soso, sun pastry need to eat when fresh (if put 1,2 days the texture will be diff and the butter will greasy), and the heong peng is great (if want buy better buy a pack, can put longer). The waffle biscuit and pineapple cake is must ordered, waffle is crispy and won't sweet, i can eat it non-stop, while pineapple cake also wont sweet and the biscuit outside is crisp and soft, I like the texture. Any how I no regret to visit this shop, will come again.

Dear Hock Kee @Melaka Raya Team, I wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks for the wonderful experience I had this morning. Although I arrived before your official opening hours at 9am, your staff Chinese (wearing tudung) lady graciously allowed me to purchase your sun biscuits—and I’m so glad she did! Not only was the gesture incredibly kind and accommodating, but the sun biscuits themselves were absolutely delightful. The flavor, texture, and freshness were exceptional—truly a testament to your craftsmanship and dedication to quality. It’s rare to encounter such thoughtful service, and I deeply appreciate the warmth and flexibility shown. Please pass on my compliments to the kind staff lady who made it possible. You’ve certainly gained a loyal customer, and I’ll be recommending your biscuits to friends and family.

Biscuits, waffles, pastry and even snack bought were good 👍🏼. But the attitude and service from the Melaka Raya branch and staff named Tiffany really needs to improve.

Sweets and dessert buffet
Keria Antarabangsa Limbongan (Hjh. Rahmah) in Kampung Limbongan, Melaka offers delicious sweet potato donuts coated with palm sugar. The donuts are crispy on the outside and soft inside, providing a perfect balance of sweetness. Visitors praise the delectable taste and affordable prices, making it a popular choice among locals and tourists alike. The stall is recommended for those looking to satisfy their sweet cravings while exploring the charming streets of Melaka.
I can see why this place went viral. The taste of kuih keria delivers a unique, nostalgic taste that's usually made by the older generation, every bite tastes like something straight from the hands of our elders which is rich, authentic, and full of love. Even though the queue was long, the service was systematic. They even provided benches for customers to sit while waiting.
Nurul A — Google review
Price has increased from rm10/10pcs last year to rm11, but the taste is still the same for me. It’s good, soft and moist on the inside. Not sure if this is the best keria in Melaka but it’s good enough for me. Been repeating this every time i balik kampung. Usually no long queue if you come early (weekends), went there around 12pm. They accept cashless payment. Parking is a bit difficult due to the traffic but it’s manageable.
Zura S — Google review
Went there during lunch hour on a wednesday. No queue at all. We park on the roadside; not sure of parking area. The keria-we like it, still hot when we got em. The glaze sweetness is still acceptable for me.. hard shell glaze on the outside and soft sweet potato on the inside.
Auni I — Google review
Waited for more than an hour in the long queue. Each time a fresh tray came out, some buyers purchased up to three containers each — that is the most I noticed. The kuih itself is undeniably delicious, but the service was very poor. Twice while I was waiting, the seller even told those still in line to come back tomorrow instead. Imagine how disheartening that feels, almost like rejecting customers’ - tolak rezeki. On top of that, the young girl handling the packing looked stressed, with no friendliness or even a smile — the attitude wasn’t good, which made the experience less pleasant. My suggestion: limit purchases to one pack per customer. Many people travel from far just to try, so at least more customers get a fair chance and don’t leave disappointed. Please also improve by increasing production, service quality, and customer care while there’s still strong demand. It’s been years since my last visit, and this was my second time coming back — yet the same issue remains. Such a waste for something so good. On a positive note, the stall next door selling original Melaka soursop juice deserves praise. Their drinks were fresh, the service was very friendly, and the overall experience there was truly satisfying.

Ayam penyet restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Indonesian restaurant
You don't need to travel far to Indonesia to experience authentic Javanese cuisine, simply visit Wong Solo restaurant located in Taman Melaka Raya. When it comes to Javanese food, one of the standout dishes is their ayam penyet. It should be noted that this is the most special item on their menu. The overall flavor is excellent, and they have made significant improvements by implementing a self-service system similar to fast food establishments.
Value for money if you’re having set meals, which we thought that it was not enough at first but we were wrong. The set for 7 pax really filled us up and we had to pack the balance back home. Typical Indonesian cuisine, comforting food as always

Order to be made at the counter and pay directly. Staff service at counter was good. Price for food and drinks a bit high. Comfortable environment with air-conditioning.

When we entered the shop and approached the counter to order, we found several staff members present but none came forward to take our order. They were talking and using their hand phones while we waited like fools in front of the counter. I was irritated, I called the staff and said “order kat sini ke?” which means am I supposed to order here? Then the staff came and took our order. He was super slow and totally unfriendly! We ordered thigh piece for the ayam penyet, he said OK but gave us some other piece. We had to ask him to change thereafter. The food is not worth the money. The chicken was miserable. In the picture the chicken may look OK, but it had so little meat and the taste has gone down the drain. Wong Solo used to be my favourite shop, but I will never come here again. Terrible service 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

I went here for Iftar with my family of 10. We booked the table 3 hours prior arrival. No deposit needed. The staff took our order during phone booking. On arrival, our table is ready. Foods and drinks prepared prior Maghrib’s athan. I ordered Set Jakarta for my big families. It’s a lot and more than enough. We enjoyed the delicious spreads of foods. Alhamdulillah. Food extremely delicious. We take away leftover foods. Food container provided. Price is reasonable. Musolla is available at upper floor. Toilet is available too. Restaurant is clean. Staff is attentive and polite. Definitely my place to go for ayam penyet.

Wong Solo Melaka is truly a hidden gem in the world of Ayam Penyet! I recently had the pleasure of dining there and I must say, it was a delightful experience. First and foremost, the Ayam Penyet was absolutely delicious. The chicken was remarkably fresh, and the highlight for me was the tasty fried garlic. It added a unique and delightful touch to the standard Ayam Penyet I've been accustomed to in Singapore. The flavors were well-balanced, and the chicken was tender on the inside while delightfully crispy on the outside. It's evident that they take pride in the quality of their dishes. What sets Wong Solo Melaka apart, in addition to their mouthwatering food, is their exceptionally kind and friendly staff. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. They were attentive to our needs and provided excellent service throughout our meal. It's always a pleasure to dine in a place where the staff genuinely care about your dining experience. I would have loved to give Wong Solo Melaka a full 5 stars, but I'm rating it 4/5 stars for one minor reason. While the food and service were exceptional, I felt that the portion size could have been a bit more generous for the price. Nevertheless, the overall dining experience was memorable, and I would highly recommend visiting this establishment to anyone looking for a delightful twist on Ayam Penyet in Melaka. In conclusion, Wong Solo Melaka is a must-visit for food enthusiasts seeking a unique and flavorful Ayam Penyet experience with fresh ingredients, a touch of creativity, and the warmth of kind and friendly staff. Don't miss out on this culinary gem!

Authentic Indonesian food. Came with my better half and she loved it. We had ayam eenyet and fried chicken and two mango juice. Tasty and refreshing at a great price. Mango juice was 7.5. I could easily drink a few. Only downside was the flies flying around the tables.

Overall taste are so good! They improved a lot now because they using system self service like fast food. The price of ala carte ayam kampung penyet is RM 9.30 & talapia penyet cost RM 8.20 without rice. Rice cost RM 2.70 each. You can also take set if you love tempe & tauhu. We don’t eat tauhu & tempe so much. Their sambal penyet taste really good!! 😋 Recommended! My all time fave ayam penyet ✨

Food is good with reasonable price, since we have order earlier via phone call the restaurant able to serve our family right on time. The ambient is nice and have plenty of table that can accommodate large number of people. The Musolla (prayer room) is also available and clean, sufficient to cater about 20 males for congregational prayer at one time. The musolla have to separate area for male and female. The toilets was also available, clean and well maintained.

Have been going here since i was a kid, the food was really good back then and i do remember there was a big giant fish in the pond. The place was okay and they do provide wedding service. The quality of food is okay but the taste of ikan siakap 3 rasa was more to taste like ikan sambal cili merah and they didn't blend the biji or removed it which can cause sakit perut. udang celup tepung looked like jemput jemput. other than that everything is okay
Fadzreena M — Google review
Speaking from a last call customer The service is fast as expected for a restaurant with huge staff especially when there's only like 2 families left the night i arrived so the manpower goes into customer left at the time. They got surau/mosque, playground, and the most importantly, toilet. The food is okay for the price. worth giving this a try. I'm not a foodie myself, I just hungry and needed to eat kay :9 The decorations feels like I'm at a wedding feast by the choice of table and the overall deco. Closing the lights while peoples is still eating is not a great thing to do because it made the feel of unwelcoming. Hope this restaurant can fix that when last minute people came to eat. Yeah it's saving some electrics but come on... - cux

Nestled in a cozy corner, Kedai Aku & Dia is a hidden gem that offers an authentic taste of local cuisine. This charming spot specializes in spherical cakes known as onde-onde, made fresh and served hot from the pot. Each cake features Gula Melaka, or Malaccan sugar, enveloped in a soft flour shell and generously coated with grated coconut.
A shabby looking store that you would easily miss if you don't pay attention. But freshly made onde-onde! I'm in! This onde-onde is truly different from the oozing gula melaka you usually get. At RM3 for 4 biji, I'm pleasantly impressed by this soft, sweet & salty version of onde-onde, with semi-mellted gula melaka inside. There is a chunk of gula melaka in each, I find that to be the best. There's no gula melaka spiling out everywhere but that glorious chunk! I don't chew on it, but merely such on it & let it melt. Ohhh so delicious! I will definitely be back.
EL — Google review
Fresh onde onde here, still hot when we got it. RM3 for a packet of 4. The sugar inside is 1 big cube of gula melaka, not melted. Not sure if on purpose, maybe some people like it. But it was very sweet for me, and I got goose bumps all over… I’ve never had freshly made onde onde before so it was an interesting experience. If you like your onde onde super sweet with a solid cube of sugar inside then this place is for you.
CW W — Google review
Although their onde onde looks fine and cute but huge disappointment after the first bite. I thought any onde onde in Melaka will wins those from my hometown. Surprisingly, different story… They didn’t burst inside my mouth. The texture of Gula Melaka is hard like candy, you need to chew the Gula Melaka. The taste of Gula Melaka was like didn’t blend well, one bite can be salty and another one bite can be just sweet. Sorry, definitely will not go for it again
Ky W — Google review
It’s like a whole in a wall. Try this local cuisine. I call it a cake, well, spherical cakes. They make them fresh and when consumed hot from the pot, they are amazing! The cakes are Gula Melaka (Malaccan Sugar) wrapped in flour and covered with grated coconut. You make the purchase outside the shop. That’s their core product. The elderly man will complete your purchase with a nonchalant expression. I call it a ‘just pay and walk away’ service experience (LOL). Try these spherical cakes with a flatwhite. Brilliant!
Andre M — Google review
Definitely a special onde-onde compare to your ordinary onde-onde. Gula melaka filing, but it is not that will burst on your mouth. It's more of a cube that you cam bite on. Not and still a special onde-onde to try on. 4 for RM 3.
Weijie C — Google review
I understand there is mix reviews, however for my personal taste I really love the ondeh-ondeh.. it’s warm as it’s cook on the spot and the gula melaka is in cube and chewy outside and crunch inside , I really love it, the best I ever had. I am from Singapore , used to eating the liquid type of gula melaka..but this one is another level👍🏻 please support uncle..
Zion T — Google review
Sucks! Everything sucks! Not worth even 1 star. 1. In terms of food, the outer is too thick, filling is too hard (not traditional explosive sugar melaka filling, no melt or burst at all), and even do not have the ondeh fragrance although it is freshly made. 2. In terms of service, the face of the vendor and the body language that presented by the male vendor is like expired roadside little gangster 50years ago trying to scared you away. When you place order and wait patiently at the roadside, he just answer you with a very bad vibe, making you feel so discomfort. You just can't understand why must he do this way. 3. In terms of atmosphere, it is hot (can't be blame since this is Malaysia ) and dirty. A lot a junk accumulated and staggered all around. If not because the food made fresh openly (not available at other place) that attract tourist attention. I don't think he can sustain until today. This overrated, tasteless food, and bad attitude will definitely attract conflict if located at place such as Penang island.
Fongmei L — Google review
Doesn’t even deserve a single star. The gula melaka filling was rock hard instead of the rich, bursting liquid it’s supposed to be. When asked, the staff said it would only ‘melt after 3pm’ — what kind of nonsense is that? Totally disappointing.

Almost all the food here are sedap. This is my second time here order for mango float. But this time the drinks mango float taste a little bit blend compare to the first time buy. The taste of rich of mango may lose.
Afiqah A — Google review
Came here for the mango float which is RM 7, snacks for RM20 consist of mushroom and lekor with cheese. There’s lots of ice for the float and it wasn’t rich in flavour. The mango juice is kept with ice cubes in it, which eventually makes it diluted. The snacks is good especially the mushroom, but it feels heavy because it’s oily. Overall, will come for the snacks and try other food again, hope they improve the mango float.

This place called Mee Kari Sungai Putat. The set up are more like food court. Mango Float Royale I give A+, not too sweet, got ice cream vanilla and mango flesh inside their beverage. I also tried fried mushroom with cheese sauce, mushroom fresh fried in good condition oil, just it taste has no 'wow' factor. I give B+. I also ate at Laksa sarang stall, there I tried Lempeng kelapa with sambal. They serve efficient, food nice. I give A+. Lastly, I tried food at Abang Botek stall. I ate char kue teow sotong, kuih keria and ais kepal milo. Char kue teow are delish just size of squid is smaller compare in menu picture and I give B+, kuih keria is not up to my expectation in term of texture and taste, I give C-. Kedai abang botek service is F. They are not friendly, ignore their customer's order and their body language shows they don't like customer to come at their stall. So next time, I will skip Abang Botek stall and enjoy food at kedai Laksa Sarang instead 😁

Qasreena Café is a family-friendly restaurant known for its signature dish, Mee Racun Melaka, which has gained popularity due to its extreme spiciness. The café offers a buffet with a variety of Western and local dishes. Operating from Monday to Saturday in the afternoon and evening, and on Sunday until early evening, it provides a pleasant environment for dining.
I highly recommend this place for its fantastic food and inviting atmosphere. The ambiance is clean, cozy, and relaxed, complemented by soothing acoustic music that sets the perfect mood. I had the pleasure of trying several dishes: Mee Racun, Fish and Chips, Tahu Begedil, and Kueh Teow Tom Yam. The highlight was definitely the Mee Racun, which was presented with a touch of "magic"—a creative flair that made the dish not only taste great but visually impressive as well. Every bite was flavorful and satisfying. Overall, it's a delightful dining experience where the food and atmosphere blend perfectly for a memorable visit.

Served 'self-serviced' buffet breakfast only. A variety selection of local dish and english breakfast. Local dish served were fried kueyteow, fried beehoon, fried rice, fried chicken, ayam kicap, nasi lemak, lontong, mee/beehoon kari, mee/beehoon sup, soto nasi, roti bakar, half boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, french toast, salad, kopi o, teh o and plain water. I guess there'll be a rotation of dishes. There's also a coffee kiok offering a variety of coffee/latte. (not included in the buffet pricing). Personally, for the amount paid, it is value for money. The only small set back is the limited seats (indoor and outdoor) so each customer is given 1 hour, which is fair. There's no 'time keeper' but customers have to be considerate. I will definitely visit the place again.....

Breakfast is mainly served in the outside part of the cafe. The staff member was pleasant and efficient. The food came in pretty fast and is really tasty. There is black coffee and tea as much as you like to suit ur meal. Lovely breakfast experience to have. Sunday, they are closed, so many might miss the opportunity to visit there. Would rather they close on one weekday and stay open on Sunday. Payment by cash, esp in the outdoor setting.

Stumbled upon this little gem of a café and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is so cosy and inviting — perfect for a quiet coffee break or catching up with friends. The cakes were a real treat too — fresh, moist, and not overly sweet, which makes it easy to indulge without feeling heavy. My favourites were the blueberry crumble cheesecake and the tiramisu, both absolutely delightful. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to whenever I need a comfy corner and a good dose of caffeine.

Waited a long time for the most forgettable “coffee”. Looked pretty but that was it. Could not discern any coffee in the mocha. Expected better coffee for the price we paid. Few tables downstairs. Furniture wasn’t comfortable to sit on. Not my idea of a place to linger over coffee.

Good coffee! Tiramisu is mid but the blueberry cheesecake is nice! Have to wait a while for the coffee orders.

This is definitely worth a visit if you are around the area. Quiet and reflective, it’s a good place to hang out, make a journal entry or read a book. Try their Tiramisu and Tea by the Pot (small pot with a cup). Matcha Latte isn’t too bad either (have it with or without sugar).

Customers can choose from different bowl sizes - S for solo or 2 people, M for 2-3 people, and L for 3-4 people.
It was a unique experience eating here. The mee was very delicious and tasty. I really like the broth too. But what really made the broth delicious was the sup daging. Service-wise, fast and excellent. The waiter were friendly to us too. Highly recommended for people who looking for a new experience!!

Not so great but not too bad. So-so. Best thing: Ample parking (though I came around 6 pm, so maybe the place not so crowded at that time.) Big chocolate candy sedap (it's basically chocolate drink topped with choch syrup, ice cream and marshmallow) also came in regular size. Bandung Soda Float!!!!! Probably the only reason I'll bother to come back. That's it. The food is not so great. Meet besen's soup is nice but the overall taste not to distinguished. Otak-otak a bit mushy. They have satay, but I didn't try it. The western platter, nope. Just nope. The platter has oglio olio, fries, meat ball and chicken chop. It's cold. I expected it to come hot considering the time it took to be served. Tapi sejuk macam what is happening there at the kitchen? And big minus point gaisss: slow service. Like lambat. Air pun lambat. I ordered second glass of Bandung Soda when the platter arrived, and it didn't came when we have already finished the platter. And lama, I have to cancel. Major turned off la service lambat. MCM kalau nak makan pukul 6, be sure to order from 3pm. And it opens from 3.30pm.

It is a famous due to it viral as it serve the menu in a big bowl. Other than that it is just a well served menu but as a overall must be upgrade to satisfy customer taste. It is subjective issue but I must say everybody come here with high expectation. The western menu is good. The portion actually not to big for some. 😁
ELMI I — Google review
It is a nice place to gather around. Food preparation took less than expected. As I'm not a big eater, I guess the food portion is big (condition might varies) Price is affordable. Spend less than RM50 here. Enjoy!

Just an ordinary restaurant. The staff are not so friendly. I ordered mee soya (My fav) & talam western. Both menu are Ok. You May order side dish like satay, otak-otak from the stall just outside the restaurant. Ample parking & easy to find this place.

I tried their medium mee besen. Soup is flavourful. U can add sambal kicap to add the kick to the soup. And the portion is big. Enough for 4-5 people. Also tried their western dulang. Ok laa, but they can still improve the taste. Since the spaghetti and the sauce is quite bland and tasteless. Love their orange juice. And definately hate their choice of song. It was disaster.

Food ate: Western Mini Platter and Hot Caffe Latte PROS: 1) Food presentation was good. 2) Spacious restaurant. 3) The ambiance was good for having a family dinner. CONS: 1) The meatball could be improved. 2) No debit card payment. 3) I was hoping for a legit Latte but got Nescafe Latte :(

Nestled along the stunning Klebang Beach, known for its soft white sands and swaying palm trees, lies the iconic Klebang Original Coconut Shake stall. This beloved spot is a must-visit for anyone craving a refreshing treat. The signature coconut shake is a delightful blend of freshly extracted coconut water, rich coconut milk, shaved ice, and topped with creamy vanilla ice cream—perfect for cooling off in the tropical heat.
An absolute must-stop in Melaka! Klebang Original Coconut Shake lives up to the hype — refreshing, creamy, and perfectly balanced with coconut bits and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s the perfect way to cool down on a hot day. The drive-thru takeout service is super convenient, especially when it gets crowded (which it often does!). Everything moves efficiently, and you can grab your shake without having long queue and waiting. Fast, tasty, and satisfying — no wonder it’s become a local icon!

This spot serves up an original coconut milkshake that's quite sweet, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. If you love refreshingly sweet treats, this is definitely for you – it's delicious! They also have a wide variety of other menu items to choose from. You really have to come and try it for yourself; just look at the photos and videos for proof! I recommend visiting on a weekday to avoid the crowds.
Wariz G — Google review
I tried the coconut shake here, but it was quite disappointing. The drink was just average and didn’t have the rich coconut taste I expected. It tasted more like ice and milk than real coconut. Hopefully, they can improve the flavor and make it more refreshing next time.
Rickdesh K — Google review
Overall experience is good, the coconut shake is good. Suggest to seat in as plenty of seats but no conditioning! For takeaways at the outside booth, you may wait for some time as there are cars mad motorcycles parked alongside it, waiting to get their drinks to-go. The standard one is just coconut water mixed together with vanilla ice cream. The special comes with an extra vanilla ice cream scoop on top of the mixed drink. Creamy, fragrant and refreshing, a Coconut Shake Regular has minimal price difference for dine-in, and takeaway) will definitely wash away all infamous sweltering Malacca heat.
Fion — Google review
I’ve been here many times and it has become a must-stop for me every time I visit Melaka. The coconut shake taste has never changed. It is still as delicious and refreshing as ever. Parking is easy since there’s plenty of space around.

Came here with our family. The coconut shake and coconut juice was refreshing and nice- but nothing really much special, though still nice to have for a break from this hot weather. But, their Ondeh ondeh was really delicious and probably the BEST I've tried in Melaka so far. Their chicken nuggets also tastes really nice. Didn't manage to try their meals though. Place is really popular so expect a long queu. Dining area is quite huge so not much of an issue. Take note that they accept Cash ONLY.

Only tried their coconut shake. Nothing special. Just the same coconut shake as other places. Am not sure if you guys like the coconut chunks inside the drink. I personally prefer smooth drink. The price is so-so. Not so expensive and not so cheap. Kalau nak buat rasa2 feeling2, okay je. Acceptable je the taste. Nak beratur pun takda la lama sangat walaupun panjang

Nasi Ayam Baba is a must-try dish in Melaka, known for its delicious and satisfying flavors. The secret to its delectable taste lies in the tender chicken and generous portions. This popular street food can be found at Nasi Ayam Baba, a restaurant with juicy grilled chicken as its specialty. Despite the Chinese-style preparation of the dish, the owners and staff are Malay Muslims, ensuring that it is halal.
The chicken rice was prepared similar to chinese style especially the rice, chili, black sauce, all very tasty. Service was good and fast depends on availability. They have brown and white chicken (sometimes). Everything was good about this place.
ERNIE M — Google review
Their chicken rice has a moderate taste. A small portion of sambal cili, not spicy. No maintenance to the shop, as some of the tiles are broken and may cause risk of injuries. Service wise is fast, qr code to order, and with robot to serve the food.

I went here twice, and the experiences are great! Yes, the place itself may look mediocre but the price is affordable and the food are tasty as well. Well, for the food I would rate 4 out of 5 but overall rating deserved by this restaurant is 5 stars. Why? Because they provide so many payment options compared to others. Grabpay, boost, touchngoewallet, and so on. I love how this restaurant knows how to keep up with the trend. By the way, yes, their chicken rice tastes awesome and moist. Would come here again for tasty food that are affordable!

One of the best nasi campur spots in Melaka! Restoran Lot 85 truly delivers on flavor, variety, and quality. Their *ayam goreng* is incredibly tasty—crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and packed with savory goodness. The food overall is fresh and well-prepared, with a great selection of dishes to suit every craving. The best part? The prices are really reasonable, making it a fantastic place for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. Definitely worth visiting if you're in Melaka!
Shukri M — Google review
Delicious but Pricey The fish was incredibly fresh and the asam pedas was absolutely delicious, especially the jenahak fish head. The sides of tempeh, vegetables, sambal paru and rice were all well prepared and satisfying. However, for just one a hot tea and plain waters, total came up to RM92.90 which is quite steep for 3 pax ladies. While I truly appreciate the quality and taste, I do hope the pricing can be more reasonable.

Food = 3 / 3 stars Service & Ambience = 1 / 1 star Value = 1 / 1 star We arrived here at 4:30pm, 30 minutes before they close. They were already in the midst of cleaning up, but still very welcoming. We shared one rice and iced coffee, plus two pieces of fried chicken, brinjals, and some bok choy, along with sambal. Total RM21. Very delicious. Especially the fried chicken. Must try. 5 stars without a doubt.
Alshane — Google review
Whenever I crave for delicious Malay food in Melaka, I come here to get my fix. Such is their consistency that the food has never failed me in any big way. My favourites have always been the ayam goreng berempah and kari ikan kepala. The latter comes with a fresh meaty fish head and kari to "banjir" your rice! Ikan assam pedas was a new find for me. I liked it. The ikan keli came with superhot sambal cili hijau which called for more rice. Diet is a four-letter word here and we don't count our calories here. As you tuck into your delicious dishes of multi hues, your body temperature will surely rise - from the spices in the food and overall heat from the roof. But you will feel the euphoria associated with eating the spicy food here.
WH C — Google review
Great for Malay cuisine. Do try the byriani and asam pedas tetel. Deep fried lung and tempe is crunchy good.
Bob T — Google review
Good food but slightly on the pricier side compared to other eateries in Melaka. Nasi briyani with chicken was RM9 alone. Plenty of space right in front of the shop to park your car. Long tables with many seats available, suitable for big groups to dine in. During RMCO period, diners aren’t allowed to take their own dishes if they order nasi campur aka mixed rice, which I think is an excellent way to keep the food and utensils hygienic.

Asam Pedas Kak Su serves a menu of asam pedas that is suitable for anyone wanting to explore the world of asam pedas. The taste is mild and the broth is not overly oily, making it a comfortable dish to try for both children and adults. The restaurant offers various types of fish for customers to choose from. The asam pedas broth here is thick, delicious, and mildly spicy.
My husband and I tried the Asam Pedas Kepala Jenahak... MashaAllah it was really good... But the spiciness is very spicy ya. But even though it's spicy I don't mind can put some kicap🤤 ... Children eat other side dishes. So far this Asam Pedas is the best for me. Parking is very limited come at 2 or 3 and above for holidays. Weekdays are not too crowded. Overall okay... Can request heat the gravy . The price is reasonable. The shop owner is friendly 😊

Ok, i love their asam pedas!!!! And their sambal hijau (not sambal hijau padang style, but green chillies blended with vinegar and sugar) that goes really well with asam pedas. There is a lot of variety of lauks, they also have ikan bakar and veges. Im spoilt for choice. Try their sambal telur pecah. Simple but so delicious. The only downside is that there is very limited area to park your car.

My friend saw good reviews regarding this place so we decided to give it a go. This is a self-service local food stall. Tried their asam pedas ikan pari, rendang ayam, ulam with sambal and kuah gulai. I personally love their asam pedas, which is their signature dish. The taste is perfectly balanced - sour, spicy and saltiness. I love the cincalok dip and sambal dip for the ulam too. Rendang was ok but a bit too sweet for my liking.

Nasi Beriani Haji Tamby, a renowned eatery established in 1969, is a must-visit legendary spot in Melaka. What sets this place apart is that you get to enjoy complimentary rice and only pay for the side dishes. The restaurant offers delicious nasi beriani with options like chicken, beef, and lamb along with special sauces and spices. Despite the limited space and open concept without air conditioning, the food is worth it.
Nice briyani and the portion is also good but a bit pricey.

Used to be one of my favourite beriyani joints. But somehow the taste, especially the beef beriyani, has changed since its reopening after the Movement Control Order. Still prefer the previous beef beriyani to the one served presently. On top of that, the pricing has also increased since my last visit.

For the taste.. it's quite good..but for the price..i don't think it's reasonable..so pricey.. to my surprise it's rm15 for nasi beriani ayam!! Besides, the portion per serving is way too much for one person..maybe the price is high because of that..but there aren't many people could possibly finished that one serving..my suggestion is to cut down the potion n lower the price..

If you find yourself in Melaka and are tired of the usual coconut shake, make your way to Big Bowl Ice - Merdeka Permai. This unique spot offers a delightful twist on traditional desserts, presenting an array of icy treats that will leave your taste buds tingling with excitement. The experience here is unlike any other in Malaysia, featuring playful presentations that elevate the enjoyment of these cool snacks.
We visited Big Bowl Ice – Merdeka Permai again after trying it when it first opened. Located in Merdeka Permai, Melaka, the shop is clean, bright, and comfortable for dine-in. It operates from 12:30 pm to 11:00 pm, Friday to Sunday, making it a nice spot to cool down on weekends. The menu has expanded over time, offering many varieties of snow ice and desserts. It usually takes about 10 minutes for them to prepare each order, which is reasonable considering the portion size and presentation. I ordered the Soy Papa (RM14.90) because I like the chewy texture of taro balls. However, I later realised that many other snow ice options already come with small taro balls but they call mix balls. Unfortunately, the large taro balls in my order were still frozen and not properly thawed — they were hard, lacked flavour, and quite disappointing. On the bright side, there’s a wide selection of toppings, including durian. The durian topping is made from frozen durian pulp and tastes rich and creamy — definitely a highlight for durian lovers. Overall, Big Bowl Ice offers a pleasant variety of shaved ice options. It’s a nice spot for a casual treat, especially if you enjoy customising your dessert with different toppings.
Lina P — Google review
It's been a while since the last time we visit here, the choices of dessert are so overwhelming, finally I ordered the papaya shaved ice with mango and passion fruit. My thirst after walking 3km in the forest is successfully quenched after downing the sweet and sour bowl of mixed ingredients. Definitely the go to place for the coming hot days. Ambient ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Flavour ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Value ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Locality ⭐⭐⭐ Cleanliness ⭐⭐⭐ All the above is just my personal opinion, "to know what honey tastes like, you have to try it one time". Lowered ratings after recent visit, because waitress thumb was in the ice during serving.

This place, is good for a midnight snack or just a place for a nice little treat. In the menu it says that the best way to eat this type of snack is to eat from top to bottom or from the outside to the inside. The cleanliness of the restaurant is very clean. The cashiers and the waiters does not have a bad attitude nor a very welcoming one. The treat is good but when you eat it, your teeth will feel very cool. After eating, you will feel like you are a snowman, because in there there is air conditioning. On last thing, if you want to enjoy the treats that they have then eat it within 30 - 20 minutes.

Situated conveniently next to the highway, this eatery offers tender and flavorful satay accompanied by highly recommended peanut sauce. The generous portion sizes are satisfying for hungry diners. In addition to its branch in Negeri Sembilan, this restaurant is a great choice for family dinners or gatherings and allows advance bookings.

Beef satay was outstandingly tender. The chicken variant is also nice if you particularly lean meat without the fat or skin. Prices at 1.20 for chicken , 1.50 for beef per stick. The fried rice and bee hoon however were all too spicy even by default. Satay sauce also is spicy .

This restaurant is a Halal restaurant. The Satay is nice and the price is fair. They are family's in satay, but they also sell Malay stir fried. The drinks here they serve are basically Malaysian tea and coffee, they also serve fruit juice too. The only problem is that they doesn't serve can or packaged drink like isotonic drinks or chrysanthemums tea. I strongly suggest come here for their satay only.

If you find yourself in Melaka, make sure to stop by Rojak Ali Lido Kampong Jawa for a delightful culinary experience. This charming eatery offers an array of dishes, but their Rojak Mee and cendol are standout favorites among visitors.
Old school cendol store. Citarasa orang lama2. Can give a try. Love it. 4th time coming here and will come again.

My dad and I came to eat here for the first time, alhamdulillah we were satisfied in terms of price, portion and deliciousness. Quick service and friendly staff. We ordered rojak and chicken fried rice, my dad is a fan of rojak. Not everyone can be satisfied with the service and food provided, but alhamdulillah what is here suits our taste. I hope the owner should take care of cleanliness, so that they can provide comfort to customers. Thanks a million 👌🏼
Toft A — Google review
Renowned for its rojak, this restaurant excels with its deliciously tangy rojak sauce and crispy cucuk sayur, complemented by perfectly cooked yellow noodles. The flavors are a true delight. However, the experience is marred by an oily, slippery floor and a dining environment that could use significant improvement. Despite this, the food remains a highlight.
Vincent K — Google review
The food was very delicious and tasty. However, the cleanliness needs some improvement to make the overall experience better.
M.a.nagalingam N — Google review
Had rojak biasa (RM5.50) and it was good. The kuah kacang is on the darker side similar to those served with rojak buah but tasted OK regardless. Cendol jagung (RM3 for dine-in) was okay and nothing to shout about. If given a chance, would have ordered the kacang variant as the price is the same Service is okay but I wish the waiters are more attentive as they can easily miss out in spotting you to take your order (despite the restaurant isn't that busy) and the atmosphere is passable. The seating area inside is somewhat well lighted and clean. If possible, try not to sit outside as you'll breath in smogs from the passing vehicles I can only recommend this place if you're somehow in the neighborhood (like visiting the goldsmiths along Jalan Kee Ann) due to the lack of parking spots compounded by Melaka's horrible public transportation infrastructure
Eleazar J — Google review
Ordered a Rojak Mee and Cendol Kacang at around 5PM in weekday. The place was OK, enough seating tables, not too crowded because it already passed rush hour. Rojak Mee consists of beansprout (tauge), cucumber (timun), some crackers (kerupuk), fried tofu (tahu goreng), half of boiled egg (telur rebus), and yellow noodles (mie kuning) with gravy.. As an Indonesian, I found this quite similar to Rujak Juhi or Rujak Betawi. The Rojak Mee was so tasty!! I like it and booze my appetite. I think I might reorder those rojak again next time. On the other side, the Cendol Kacang was disappoint.. Just like a shaved ice with syrup and coconut milk and little but cendol and red bean..
Cynthia F — Google review
Wanted to try out Malacca's best rojak after reading reviews on them. Unfortunately it was disappointing. The gravy was thick but a bit bitter and unfavourable. But they did have various add-ons to the rojak that made it bearable. We had a tough time trying to finish off our plate. To be honest, KL has better options.

Well-known eatery: The popular Rojak Ali Lido of Jalan Kee Ann, has moved across the road and is now located next to the iconic Lam Sing Coffee building. Establish since 1971. One of my favourite place to eat mee goreng, mee rebus and rojak. Delicious. Believe or not, the price is still cheaper in the town. RM4.00 for a plate of rojak, mee goreng and mee rebus. Limited parking spot. No dine in during MCO.

Mochee Dim Sum House is a Halal, Healthy, Hearty restaurant that offers over 40 varieties of dim sum, making it a paradise for dim sum enthusiasts. In addition to an extensive dim sum selection, the restaurant also serves other enticing dishes such as babao, mochi ice cream, noodles, and buns. For those with a sweet tooth for mochi, this place offers a wide range of options from regular to premium mochi.
Great place to go if you're looking for Halal chinese food here in Melaka, the environment is actually quite nice but if you go on weekend/public holiday the parking is quite limited. Overall the food is great and the owner is friendly.
Najmi H — Google review
Clean restaurant. Easy parking in front of the place. Dim sum is nice. The most stand out is their Prawn Fried rice. Noodles soup taste too simple. Is a family affair, owner is friendly. We like the ambience of the place.
Ayesha S — Google review
Small order for snacking. But took quite a long time for me to get my order. Name of the restaurant is Mochee Dim Sum, so I ordered some dim sum and mochi. Dim sums came but the mochi didn't. After waiting for quite a while, I just lose hope and proceed to pay, only then to be informed by the staff that it's out of stock. Why didn't tell me sooner so that I didn't waste my time waiting for it? Tastewise, dim sum was very very delicious. Lots of variety, and not the typical frozen dim sum that the street hawker sells. Drinks was also very good. Price, okay. And the deco inside is quite pleasing, simple yet gives out the correct vibe. Overall, not very pleasing experience, but food was superb. Please improve the service.

Menu - Chinese Halal 1. Various dim sum 2. Various pau 3. Dumpling - soup, steam & fried 4. Hokkien style omelette 5. Various hot tea. Payment 1. QR pay 2. Cash Facilities 1. Limited table of 10 2. Food was very nice, we came on wrong time as the shop is closed on Friday, but anyhow the owner still serves us food and drinks. But it took some time for the food delivered to our table. Maybe just today. Worth trying.

Had dinner with my family of 5 and straight away got a table when we arrived. The front was serviced by a couple of kids. One of the kids was really unfriendly and had a terrible attitude. At first, we tried to be understanding but over time, it was too much. The kid served the table next to us who just came in and threw the menu on the table. A few families came in and there was some empty tables but no chair so they asked if there’s any chair and the kid just said “takde” and walked away with a sour face. There was atleast 2-3 families that walked out after that. One of the family even had a baby in a stroller and an old man with a tongkat! How outrageous. The kid even served our food by roughly putting it on out on our table. Seriously no manners that my mom had to tell him to atleast put it down nicely. I understand not smiling because you’re tired but body language is very important. The other kid who served our drinks even sighed loudly when he came out that you guys had a lot of customers. Even spilled a bit of our drinks on my special needs brother with down syndrome. Food was okay but I would not recommend coming in again due to service.
Elisya I — Google review
A Shame, Because the Food Was Good The food at Mochee Dim Sum House was genuinely tasty and the setting was nice. However, the experience was completely overshadowed by the service. We understand it's a small family business and expected things to be a bit slow, which was fine. The major issue was with the two young sons who were serving. They were quite rude, both wearing sour faces that clearly showed they were unhappy to be working there. Their attitude translated into poor service: they slammed menus, food, and drinks on our table as well as other customers. We also witnessed them turn away customers by refusing to rearrange seating to accommodate a group, even though there were unused chairs at other tables. While we wanted to support a family-run restaurant, the dismissive and unprofessional service from the staff (the sons in particular) means we will not be returning. It's a real shame because the food had so much potential.

Delicious authentic Nyonya food! Let the pictures do the talking. Plenty of parking lots by the side. Fast service too. Do try the chendol. Tasty!

Went there for authentic nyonya food. The food was delicious and the price was reasonable as well. Ordered their chili fried fish, cencaluk fried eggs, chap chai, chicken spring rolls and ponteh chicken. The environment is quite comfortable. This is a halal restaurant, so Muslim friends can enjoy the food over here as well.

I ordered assam fish, kangkung belacan, fried eggplant, otak otak and cendol when i was there. Everything was nice, i mean more than decent but assam fish was the only one that captured my heart. I mean i would definitely go there again for their fish. However, for me a small plate of kangkung for rm14 was a bit unreasonable for me though. Overall, it was good.

Nestled in the heart of Melaka, Bon Bonne Pastry Lab is a delightful haven for dessert lovers. This charming café offers an array of stunning pastries, with their Cendol Gelato standing out as a must-try treat that’s both delicious and visually appealing. The atmosphere is perfect for leisurely afternoon tea or satisfying those French dessert cravings. The owners are incredibly friendly and passionate about their craft, ensuring each pastry is made fresh from high-quality ingredients—no day-old stock here!
The pastry and soda frizzle drinks was awesome. The matcha berries was super yummy as well and I would really recommend the mango passion fruit that comes with a mango sorbet on top. The dessert pastry was really amazed us especially the pistachio the first bite was like wow! We never ate such nice texture and balance sweetness of fine pastry that make scratch from pistachio. It was not very sweet, even my mum who is very picky said that their pastry is awesome. I would really come back again if I’m in Melaka. Definitely worth the reviews given. Staff and owner was sincere and friendly, recommended us their menu as well. Environment and design space was very chill and clean ambience. They have soft music that soften the whole ambience too! Looking forward for our next trip back!

Bon Bonne Pastry Lab – A Must-Visit French-Inspired Café in Malacca During a spontaneous night visit, we sampled nearly everything left on the shelves—and it turned out to be a delightful pastry adventure. From buttery laminated classics to refined plated desserts, Bon Bonne delivers both technique and heart. The Kouign Amann stood out with its caramelised crust and chewy, buttery layers, while the Real Pistachio impressed with its rich, natural duja filling. Savoury options like the Jumbo Cheese Sausage and Cinnamon Roll offered warmth and comfort, with thoughtful service touches like reheating before serving. Among the cakes, the Grand Chocolate Tarte was a standout—intensely chocolatey yet balanced. So Matcha showcased premium Japanese matcha in layered textures, and Raspberry Queen delivered bright, sweet-tart elegance despite a raspberry topping swap (which the staff kindly explained). Citrus offered a refreshing lime-peach blend, while Flan Cheesecake felt slightly incomplete without caramel sauce. The Cendol Gelato Mont Blanc was a showstopper—pandan gelato topped with gula melaka Mont Blanc, coconut, and red beans, served over dry ice. A fusion of tradition and flair, clarified personally by the owner when I questioned the subtle flavour. Drinks like Berries Matcha and Berrylicious were vibrant and refreshing, blending matcha or sorbet with fruity fizz. The Cold Latte was a smooth, mellow finish. Service was excellent—attentive, transparent, and genuinely committed to quality. The owner’s personal response to feedback added a sincere touch that elevated the experience. If you’re in Malacca, Bon Bonne Pastry Lab is worth the detour.

Ive had a lot of pastries in my time, i would say this is one of the best ive tasted so far. I could polish off 6 pastries easily and the price is reasonable. Some places would rip you off charging RM9/10 for a plain croissant. Here its only RM7.80nett. Will def be back

A little hard to find this cafe which is located at the corner of the Swan garden hotel, directly opposite kam cheng (nyonya restaurant). Very well executed high quality cakes. A little pricey (slice cake cost rm25 to 29 each) but no regret. The taste was very delicately balanced between bringing out the flavours and giving it the sweetness. Staff were accommodating to give candle and lend lighter. Fresh bakes for the day hence the later you visit, it is whilst stock last.

Recommended by a Melaka local colleague who said the desserts here are great, but we ended up trying the pastries instead and no regrets! We had the Otak-Otak Croissant and Azuki Danish to share, along with a mocha and flat white. Both pastries were beautifully flaky and confirm plus chop (sorry!) we made a mess with all the flying flakes as we slowly savoured each bite. The Otak-Otak Croissant was savoury with just the right amount of spice, and the Azuki was huge with a generous amount of red bean. Most importantly, not too sweet! Chill spot for lunch, we almost had the whole café to ourselves. Plus point for me, they accept credit cards!

Lovely little pastry spot in Melaka! The desserts are beautifully crafted, not too sweet, and the flavors are really balanced. Cozy ambience with friendly service — definitely worth a visit if you love good pastries

We were looking for some desserts after our meal at a nearby restaurant and found that this cafe had really good google reviews with a rating of 4.9 stars. We arrived after 8 pm and was pleasantly greeted by Alvin Goh. By then, all the cakes had sold out for the day. Thankfully there was still a selection of pastries to choose from. We decided to get one Azuki and one pain au chocolate to share among the three of us. Both pastries were light, flaky and non greasy. There was also a good amount of filling and it was not overly sweet. Just right. It was perfectly paired with a cup of English breakfast tea with a dash of hot steam milk. Upon chatting further with Alvin did we realise that he was the pastry chef and all the pastries and cakes are made by him. He shared with us about his experience working in many different places including Singapore before returning to Malacca to open his own cafe. Not only were the pastries delicious, we also really enjoyed the peaceful ambience of the place and the warmth extended to us during our visit. We would love to visit again and be able to try the cakes the next time.

Restaurant
Hoo Khiew Prawn Cracker Noodles, located in Jalan Tengkera, Malacca, is a beloved spot known for its delectable prawn crackers and fish ball noodles that bring back nostalgic flavors. The stall operates from a converted house with a dining area in the front yard and an immobile pushcart where the owner prepares the dishes. This long-standing establishment has recently reopened to eager crowds, with lines forming for both dine-in and takeaway orders.
Clear n tasty broth topped with crackers. Worth the 45 min wait as it's simply so crowded. Reached at 930am and only finished eating at 1030am. It's only open on Saturday n Sunday. Located just opposite Malacca Badminton Association. Rm7.50 for a big bowl. Can add fish ball but cannot add crackers Please skip the coffee though .. very bad coffees.

Tried the popular prawn crackers noodles recently since I’ve heard so many people love coming here. Brought the family along in the morning to check it out. To be honest, it was quite average. The noodles came without any vegetables the main focus was clearly on the prawn crackers and prawn balls. While those were decent, it didn’t have that wow factor that would make me come back again. The coffee and tea were also quite tasteless, which was a letdown. Overall, it was okay for a try, but not something I’d go out of my way for next time.
Coyotito D — Google review
Returned after a few decades and the noodles are still good. A rare type where there's prawn crackers when most prawn crackers noodles elsewhere don't have fried stuff. Arrived before 8am today 26 Jan, parked illegally at the curb. Took number on the right side of the entrance, placed it on the table, a nice uncle took my order for the noodles and coffee. Coffee was served fast while noodles came after 25 mins. Coffee RM2 was great while the noodles (RM6.50 small + extra ingredients RM2) were delicious but not mind blowing. Notice on the entrance shows they'll close on 1 and 2 Feb.

This unique noodle dish is a must-try! The prawn crackers on top add a crunch and great flavor. There is also a selection of noodle variations. They only open on weekends, so be prepared for a wait. Best to come early to avoid disappointment.

✨I came across a blog recommending this place, so we decided to give it a try. They have just one menu with different sizes. 🍜 The soup is delicious and I love how the noodles, soup and prawn cracker come together—it’s definitely comfort food at its best. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This is a nostalgic food for people, like my mum who grew up eating this in her primary school days. CASH ONLY. Mum's verdict: Food: 8/10, it hits the spot. Ingredients (fried fishball, sliced fish cakes and prawn crackers) decent quantity Service: auntie's service is good (blue tshirt) . Friendly and attentive. Can't say so for the worker 😠 Environment: you get the small town shop feel Only RM6.50 for small, RM7.50 for large

Have been eating here under a big tree since 1970s. Still taste good especially after an early 6:00 am walk to here from Straits Hotel and Suites in Melaka Raya. Reasonable price too. Remember to take a number and wait patiently for them to take your order. It was closed for "special holidays" last September when I came during early morning rain. Updated: 19 April 2025. Walked from Swiss Garden at 6:45 am to enjoy my favourite prawn noodles. Wait time, 1 hour, still worth the wait.
