Jonker Street Night Market is the vibrant heart of Melaka, offering a bustling open-air market on weekend nights. The street is lined with fascinating shops and restaurants serving delectable local cuisine. Visitors can explore the Orang Utan House gallery for contemporary art and browse through the Malaqa House Museum shop for exotic collectibles, sculptures, and souvenirs.
Had a fun evening at Jonker Street Night Market. The place was packed with food stalls, souvenir vendors, and lots of energy. Tried the grilled squid – freshly made and really delicious! It gets super crowded after 7 pm, so best to come early. A bit hot and packed, but definitely worth the visit for the food and lively atmosphere. A must-see when in Melaka!

The historical city of Melaka offers a captivating glimpse into the past. Its stunning heritage sites are a testament to its rich and diverse cultural influences. Exploring the city's architecture and landmarks is an enriching experience for any visitor. Moreover, the vibrant nightlife scene provides a lively contrast to the daytime exploration. You are sure to create lasting memories in this beautiful place.
Nolan B — Google review
Jonker Street Market is definitely one of the liveliest places in Melaka. The atmosphere is colorful and energetic, with plenty of street food, souvenirs, and local crafts. It’s a great place to explore the culture and enjoy some snacks like chicken rice balls, coconut shakes, and satay. However, the market gets *extremely crowded*, especially on weekends, making it hard to move around or enjoy the stalls comfortably. Prices can also be a bit inflated due to the tourist crowd, and many items feel repetitive from one stall to the next. It’s worth visiting for the experience, but go early or on a weekday if you want to avoid the rush. A good spot for foodies and street photographers, but not the best for relaxed shopping.
Lyston F — Google review
Jonker Street (Jalan Hang Jebat, Melaka) Located in the heart of Melaka’s Chinatown, Malaysia Jonker Street, officially known as Jalan Hang Jebat, is the vibrant soul of Melaka’s Chinatown — a lively stretch famous for its night market, heritage shophouses, antique stores, cafés, and street food. Once home to wealthy Peranakan (Straits Chinese) families, the street’s architecture reflects centuries of cultural fusion — Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese, and British influences all intertwined in ornate façades and wooden shutters. By day, Jonker Street is a charming lane of antique dealers, art galleries, craft shops, and traditional bakeries, selling everything from vintage cameras and porcelain to pineapple tarts and handmade jewelry. When night falls, the entire street transforms into one of Malaysia’s most beloved night markets — buzzing with food stalls, music, and lights. Visitors can savour local favourites like chicken rice balls, cendol, Nyonya laksa, satay celup, and fried radish cake, while browsing through rows of souvenirs and handmade crafts. The air is filled with laughter, the aroma of grilled skewers, and the rhythm of buskers performing under lanterns. Beyond its food and fun, Jonker Street is also a living museum — a place where heritage, commerce, and community coexist. Nearby attractions include Cheng Hoon Teng Temple (Malaysia’s oldest Chinese temple), Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum, and Kampung Kling Mosque, all within walking distance. Today, Jonker Street remains the beating heart of Melaka’s old town — a symbol of multicultural Malaysia and a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience its historic charm, creative energy, and timeless street life.
Meng C — Google review
Jonker Street, officially known as Jalan Hang Jebat, sits at the heart of Malacca’s historic Chinatown a lively blend of heritage, culture, and chaos in the best possible way. By day, its narrow lanes reveal rows of centuries-old shophouses, once home to Peranakan merchants, now transformed into cafés, antique stores, and quirky boutiques. By night, Jonker Street transforms into a vibrant night market where the air fills with the scent of grilled satay, chicken rice balls, and the sweet smoke of coconut pancakes.
Ramesh N — Google review
Very lively place with many options to eat and shop. The best thing I loved is the fact that everything is fixed priced so no fear of being cheated. Highly recommended place..
Nelson D — Google review
Jonker Night Market was honestly the best night ever! I felt like I walked forever through the busy streets, but it was so much fun with all the lights, food, and shops around. I went on a road trip with my best friend, driving all the way from KL and staying two nights — such a memorable experience. Till this day, I still dream of coming back. I absolutely love it and would go again in a heartbeat!
Rinda H — Google review
Jonker Street Night Market is one of those must-visit places in Malacca that truly comes alive at night. It’s vibrant, buzzing with energy, and beautifully lit with lanterns and colorful lights that give the entire street a festive charm. Whether you're a tourist or a local, there's always something exciting to see, try, or buy here. Yes, it’s definitely packed and crowded, especially on weekends, but surprisingly, it still feels safe and lively rather than overwhelming. The atmosphere is energetic but not chaotic, with friendly vendors and a nice mix of people from all walks of life. There’s so much to explore; from street food and handmade crafts to quirky souvenirs, clothes, accessories, and even traditional snacks you won’t find in many other places. You'll also come across live performances, from singers and buskers to cultural dance groups, which makes walking down the street feel like a full-on experience. The street food is a major highlight; expect to see and smell everything from grilled satay, Taiwanese sausages, laksa, coconut ice cream, freshly made dim sum, and even the famous Jonker Street quail egg snacks. You’ll want to come with an empty stomach because the choices are endless. The market also has its fair share of unique and novelty items, including handmade jewelry, old-school toys, antiques, and personalized crafts. It’s the perfect place to pick up a souvenir that’s not mass-produced. Although the crowds can get intense, especially around peak hours, it’s very much part of the experience. Just take your time, soak in the lights, music, smells, and cheerful vibes. Wear comfy shoes, bring some cash, and enjoy the rich culture and local charm Jonker Street has to offer. Would definitely recommend making it a stop on your Malacca trip, it’s not just a market, it’s an experience!

Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, also known as Merciful Cloud Temple, is a historic Chinese temple in Malaysia dating back to the 1640s. It is dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy and attracts followers of Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. The temple's traditional architecture features intricate woodwork and reflects the cultural heritage brought by Chinese migrants to the region.
We visit this temple because is a interesting place to visit and learn few things about religion and costumes. Helpful staff we been thankful to the lady at the souvenir store because she explain how to light candles and incense for prayer
Mario B — Google review
Step through the gates of Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, and you’re not just entering a place of worship — you’re walking inside a living museum. Built around 1645, this is the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia, carrying more than three centuries of prayers, hopes, and history. Every dragon carving, intricate beam, and wooden pillar tells a silent story of early settlers who shaped Melaka’s heritage. Each step on its stone floor is like turning the pages of an ancient book. What you see here isn’t just decoration — it’s a priceless antique collection still standing strong today, whispering stories from the past.

Old chinese temple at malacca. Lovely place with full of positive vibes. Definitely a must visit if you are at malacca. Very well maintained. Beautiful architecture and sculptures. Fully decorated with red colour makes the place vibrant and beautiful.
Arun M — Google review
An outstanding temple to visit, when you are in Melaka, its intricate design and detail gives overall a very rich feel to the entire complex. There is no tickets required and you can walk in the day time as per your convenience. The deities were adorned with their cultural attires and surrounded with heaps of rice bags as gifts.
A R — Google review
Cheng Hoon Teng is the oldest functioning Chinese Temple in Malaysia. It was built using imported bricks, ornaments and roof tiles from China. In 2003, it was awarded as outstanding UNESCO architectural restoration and conservation.
Rajib B — Google review
Cheng Hoon Teng Temple is far more than a beautifully preserved landmark; it’s a living cultural and spiritual institution. From its architectural finesse to the rhythms of worship and community life, it truly captures the historic pulse of Malacca’s Chinese diaspora. Whether you're on a heritage trail, a spiritual quest, or an architectural tour—this is a must-visit gem.

The Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum, located in the Chinatown area of Melaka, is a must-visit attraction that offers a glimpse into the history and culture of local Chinese Malays. Housed in an ornate home that once belonged to the wealthy Chan family, this museum showcases artifacts and exhibits celebrating the Peranakan culture, which is a blend of Chinese and Malay influences.
Really great house heritage museum. Gorgeous and well curated house with great history. Also, staff is really friendly and professional. They have free English tours at 11am on Saturday and free Chinese tours at 3pm on Saturday. However, I didn’t arrive at the time. Instead, I used the free WiFi and free audio tour guide that is provided by QR codes throughout the house. There is also a place to refill water, bathrooms, and certain areas with seating and air conditioning. I would spend about 1 hour exploring here.
Gabby C — Google review
Very well maintained heritage museum. The introduction was short and simple but enough to tell the do's and don't. Staircase to the second floor for further viewing is a bit steepzl, some may not like it. I don't recommend for children less than 4 years old. At least child is able to understand and don't run around. Photography is allow, BUT NO FLASH! QR codes to scan to learn more. There's also a souvenir shop just before you exit the house.
Mei T — Google review
What a great museum! The personnel was very polite and helpful and the museum is very well kept. It wasn't very busy when we went and we could thoroughly enjoy the house. We particularly enjoyed the audio guide, which added a lot to the experience. There is even cold water available to fill up your water bottle.Highly recommended!
Nadia_mn15 M — Google review
A well preserved house turned museum in Melaka!! The place is located in the heart of the Old Town and very accessible by car or foot. And, the museum is still owned and managed by the family. The museum offers a glimpse of Baba & Nyonya life back in the old days. You can follow their story by listening to the audio guide that you can access from your mobile. Each story is short yet packed with information. The ticket costs 25RM for foreigners.
Maharani — Google review
The Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum is a treasured cultural heritage site in Malacca's heart. It authentically recreates the lives of the Peranakan Chinese, a group that emerged from the long-term integration of early Chinese immigrants with the local Malaysian community. Formerly the century-old residence of the Zeng family, the museum was converted into a museum in 1985, to systematically preserve and display their unique architecture, furnishings, clothing, and everyday items. Guided tours offer insightful explanations of the social structure, religious beliefs, and customs of the Baba and Nyonya people, providing valuable insights into and understanding Malaysia's diverse cultural landscape.
Jony — Google review
Beautiful and splendid museum exploring the local history of Peranakans in Malacca through the lens of a prominent Chan family. Adult tix costs only 25MYR and we spend a good 1h+ exploring the (surprisingly vast) museum and listening to the Audio guides. It was also a welcome reprieve from the heat!
Darren — Google review
a lovely baba nyonya heritage experience in a well maintained museum made from the furniture and old house of a rich malaccan trader. the audio tour (easy access through scan codes) is worthistening to, as it is narrated by one of the family members, giving you some insight how malaccan life was 70 years ago

A truly classic museum of Peranakan Chinese culture ❤❤❤ When I first saw the city of Malacca in a Google search and then saw this museum, I immediately dreamed of one day visiting. And when that dream came true, I was ecstatic. It was a visit I will never forget.

Observation Decks & Towers
Experience the breathtaking views of Melaka from the Taming Sari Tower (Malacca Tower), a modern structure with a rotating observation deck that rises to 80 meters. Whether you visit during the day or at night, you'll be treated to a seven-minute ride offering panoramic vistas of the city. From St. Paul's Hill to Melaka River and beyond, this experience provides an opportunity to spot numerous landmarks.
During our recent trip to Melaka, one of the highlights was experiencing the panoramic view from the top of the rotating observation ride. As we boarded, the ride began its slow, smooth ascent, gently spinning as it climbed higher and higher. The motion was calm and relaxing, allowing us to truly enjoy every moment as the city slowly unfolded beneath us. From above, Melaka offered a completely different perspective — a stunning 360-degree view of the historical city. Landmarks such as the Melaka River, the bustling Jonker Street, and the coastline came into clear view, all framed beautifully against the skyline. The experience gave us a fresh appreciation for the blend of old-world charm and modern development that defines the city. To make the experience even more enjoyable, we were offered complimentary drinks as part of the ride package. It was a small but thoughtful gesture that added a nice touch of hospitality. Overall, the ride wasn’t just about reaching the top — it was about the journey, the atmosphere, and the chance to take a quiet moment to admire the beauty of Melaka from a new angle. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a frequent traveler to this charming city, seeing Melaka from above is truly a memorable experience that adds a unique touch to any trip.
Sikin S — Google review
Initially, I was a bit scared, but once it started moving, the ride was so smooth that I didn’t even realize we had reached the top! The view from the top was absolutely stunning – a perfect blend of serene nature and beautiful buildings. You can walk around inside the sitting area and take in the full 360° view. Overall, a very calming and memorable experience. Highly recommended if you enjoy scenic views and peaceful moments above the city!
Ra J — Google review
If you want to take a panoramic view of one of Malaysia’s beautiful cities, you should definitely not miss this observatory tower. Built on the famous central street of the city, the tower takes visitors to almost 100 feet above the ground. The visitors are advised not to stand while in the observation tower. The seating deck revolves around the tower to give customers an all-around view of the city. The ride takes almost 20 minutes and binoculars are available for rent as well at the counter. The check-in process is well organized and smooth, so is the checkout process. I’d suggest taking the ride in the evening to get a really nice sunset view and the late night views of the city too. The tickets are available at the counter without any additional charge.
Sagar K — Google review
The panoramic view of Malacca from the tower was truly breathtaking. The panoramic view was unforgettable. The price per person was RM27, but I think it was more than worth it. Thank you to the tower for providing such a special experience. I would definitely visit again if I have the chance.

This is one of the main attraction in town of Melaka, please bring all of your family members here and spend a quality times together and make sweet memories as well. Please take note that one has to line up for more than 20 to 30 minutes depending on the huge crowd that visits there. Overall its a quite interesting place to spend time with!
M S — Google review
Fun little activity that you can do whilst exploring the historical site. The ride will slowly go up and you can have a beautiful view of the city.
Paul B — Google review
A good place to see the entire Malacca. The ticket to take the ride is 26 RM (non-resident price). The ride brings you to the top and stays there for about 5 minutes while it rotates to let you view Malacca in all directions. The wait was about 10 mins in total, 5 mins for the previous ride to end and 5 mins for boarding. It was a good ride as in a hot day you can relax and enjoy the view in a air-conditioned ride 😂 Visited 13 July 2025
De O — Google review
What can I say? Well, the view at up is majestic. Takes you breath away. Been on the tower 2 times. But, my recent visit was to explore the local Uptown Pahlawan Market. It's totally different from Hatyai(visited 9-11/08/2025). The state government plans has it's class of it's own. I would like to congratulate them on their efforts in lifting the state potential eco-tourism destination. We'll, there's still plenty of room for improvement. Especially, the local vendors people engagement, hospitality & cleanliness. Overall, the standards-based display so far is acceptable. Training can be provided by local state council. To enhance and maintain excellent customer service. After all, Melaka is surely a world tourism destination. 😎🤟🫰😘

The Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum is a reconstructed palace dedicated to showcasing the culture and history of Malacca. The museum's modern reconstruction was based on traditional woodworking techniques and descriptions from the Malay Annals, faithfully adhering to historical details such as being built without nails. Visitors, especially history enthusiasts, will be fascinated by tangible Malay history displayed in the golden throne room and mannequins depicting everyday life in a Malay palace.
Though completely re-built using old plans and traditional materials, both the palace, the surrounding park and the extensive two-floors museum exhibition produce really great impression, manage to vividly demonstrate traditional palace lifestyle along with Melaka Sultanate's history, and are valuable sources of information at the same time.
V K — Google review
A rich example of how the traditional Sultan’s from 1400 CE took over Melaka and the museum experience is absolutely a worth visit to understand the story in detail. The exquisite wood carving, and intricate details although a replica of the original (as it got damaged in fire) but truly depicts the rich culture and heritage of the history of Melaka. Explore the massage chair located inside, in case you are tired 😊👍.
A R — Google review
I was really looking forward to visiting the Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum because it looks amazing from the outside and is full of history about the Malacca Sultanate. The wooden architecture and traditional design are very beautiful, and the garden area around it is nice for photos. Unfortunately, the museum was closed when I visited, so I couldn’t explore inside. I would recommend checking the opening hours before coming. Still, the place is worth seeing from outside if you are around St. Paul’s Hill area!
Ali J — Google review
Pretty ok place to learn a bit of history. But some exhibits lack English translation which turned my kids off. Or the explanation were too brief and lack details befitting of a museum. Too many mannequins which creeped us out especially since there's not much people around. Paid RM90 for 4A and 1C .
K L — Google review
What can I say about this museum.. my first thought is … “well… it’s a place… and it has aircon”. While admittedly it does offer some good insights into local clothing and national hero/ warrior Hang Tuah the place overall left me quite unimpressed as a foreign visitor. Some information is only in Malay, exhibitions feel a bit lifeless and overall you can easily finish the whole thing in less than 30 min (incl taking time to read through information). If you have nothing else to do feel free to go - otherwise you’re not particularly missing out, especially if you’ve been to other parts and museums across Malaysia before
Bryan B — Google review
Special to be able to contemplate this beautiful building from the inside. Inside, there is also an exhibition with the historical story and various objects from this era. Wonderful and very educational. A must if you are in Malaysia and appreciate the culture.

Many pictures and so descriptions of Malay history that are very interesting to see

The Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum is a well-crafted replica of a 15th-century Malay palace, offering insights into the Malacca Sultanate's history. It features traditional architecture, historical artifacts, and detailed dioramas. While educational and affordable, it lacks interactivity and can get crowded. A must-visit for history enthusiasts.

Rising majestically in the Kampung Bunga Paya Pantai area, The Shore Sky Tower stands as the tallest building in Melaka. Its 43rd-floor observation deck provides awe-inspiring panoramic views that stretch up to 50 kilometers in every direction. Visitors can marvel at the stunning vistas through six telescopes and a glass deck.
This is the best tower in Melaka. Very tall and you will get a beautiful view of the city from here. You can stay for a long time and enjoy. Ticket is costly (around 35 RM per head). There is a glass top corner which they don't allow unless you pay extra money- which is bad.
Umakant M — Google review
The Shore Sky Tower in Melaka offers an exhilarating experience with its stunning 360-degree views of the city and beyond. Located on the 43rd floor, this observation deck provides breathtaking vistas up to 50 kilometers in every direction. The glass fencing allows for unobstructed views, while the glass flooring adds an element of thrill. Visiting during sunset is highly recommended, as the transition from day to night is truly magical. There is a glass floor, but its a bit rusty, so a bit scary to walk on it.

What a wonderful view to see the city especially using the telescopes. It would be nice if they maintained more though, since it's really a great place for people to visit.

Good place to get 360 degree view of City. Not very crowded.. Better to come in the evening close to sunset.. The building itself is a mall/residence with pretty much everything within the building. Food options, supermarket, apparel, pharmacy, Fitness centre, Pub, Tennis, Swimming pool. Located centrally in the city. You could even try to get an Airbnb here when you visit Malacca..
Sairam S — Google review
One of the best hotels centrally located in Malacca overlooking the river. Rooms are spacious and good. The hotel tower has 43 floors with three restaurants, swimming pool, gym, play courts on level 9. Many hotels n tourist attractions are closeby
Srinivas B — Google review
Great view from above but sad is that the building is not maintained as it should be. Looks like few years old and already all destroyed (as most of buildings in Malaysia sadly)
Nina K — Google review
There was no staff at the counter upon reaching the entrance on the 41st floor. Waited awhile and finally got someone inside the restaurant to help us scan our tickets. The views are amazing. Able to see the Malacca River, A Famosa, Red Square, etc. Place lacks maintenance though. Glass floor is sealed off, some binoculars are not working, etc. Stroll for 10 minutes and you are done. Not really worth the time and money.
Kaiishaa — Google review
This place is pretty basic: just a a 40 storey plus tall tower in the heart of Bandar Melaka. But when you come at the right time eg sunset, when the weather is clear, and at a time where there is minimal crowd (preferably on a weekday) it immediately becomes a must visit! That was the case with my wife, we came at 7pm about 10 minutes before sunset and it was lovely. Everything was perfect and we managed to get picture at every corner of the compound. The glass fence is a tad high for we Asian but I guess it’s for safety reasons. A big downside I would say is that one cannot take own photo at the glass floor platform at the end of the square which is the spot where it is most picturesque, instead you can only take pictures using the camera provided. Price is about RM 25/adult. Suggested spending time is 45 minutes to 1 hour.

The Melaka River Cruise Jeti Quayside offers both day and night cruises that take you through the city, passing by historic buildings, shops, and houses of worship. The 45-minute cruise is reasonably priced and provides recorded commentaries or a guide to explain the history behind the sites. Keep an eye out for Kampung Morten, a beautiful riverside village known as a living museum.
It reincapsulates the very essence of the presence of the Dutch and Portuguese Empire in their time in Malacca. This can be seen through the Architecture which is visible when aboard the cruise. The waiting time is very viable on weekdays and the ticket prices are also reasonable for a 35-40 minute cruise. The cruise also has a speaker which helps in the better understanding of the Melaka River's environment by exposing the sights as you cruise along the waves, lulled to sleep by the radiant afternoon sun after a nice, fulfilling lunch. Also you have chance to see LeBron James who might visit Malaysia at the same time as you.

1.Preferred come on weekday to avoid long queue and crowded people. 2.Join the river cruise at evening time for sunset and beatiful night views. 3.This is one of the most attractions place and activity when you are visiting Malacca,a must try.

The Melaka River Cruise is a nice way to see the city from a different view. The ride is about 30–45 minutes, and you can spot colorful murals, historic bridges, and riverside cafes. The night cruise looks beautiful with all the lights. However, the water is quite dirty, which can be disappointing. Still, the experience is enjoyable if you focus on the views and atmosphere. The Jeti Quayside is easy to find, and ticket prices are reasonable. I recommend going in the evening for the best experience!

The Malacca River Cruise is a delightful experience showcasing the city's rich heritage and vibrant culture. The 20-25 minute journey (though some mention 40+ minutes) offers stunning views of the riverbanks, colorful paintings, and lively river walk. Ticket Prices: - *Foreigners*: MYR 38 - *Kids*: MYR 33 Highlights: - *Vibrant Colors*: Enjoy the city's vibrant colors and artwork. - *River Walk*: Take in the lively atmosphere along the river walk. - *Cultural Experience*: Gain insights into Malacca's history and culture. Recommendation: Definitely a good experience not to be missed!

Have been coming here with our visitors for years. The river side is now gentrified and much of the life on the river have moved out for commercial purposes. Unfortunately the audio quality is poor so much of the dialogue was lost. Both day and night cruises offers different perspectives.

The Malacca River Cruise is one of the city's most popular attractions, offering a relaxing and scenic way to experience the historical charm of Malacca. The cruise takes you on a 45-minute journey along the Malacca River, passing by colonial buildings, vibrant street art, traditional Malay villages, and modern cafes that line the riverbanks. As you glide through the water, you’ll see famous landmarks like the Stadthuys, Kampung Morten (a traditional Malay village), and various historical bridges including the Tan Kim Seng Bridge. The river is beautifully lit at night, making the evening cruise especially magical with colorful reflections dancing on the water. The boats are clean, well-maintained, and equipped with narration (in English and Malay) that highlights key points of interest, adding educational value to the scenic ride. Review (4/5): The Malacca River Cruise offers a unique perspective of the city and is suitable for all ages. It’s especially enjoyable at sunset or after dark when the lights bring the riverside to life. However, during peak hours, waiting times can be long. Overall, it’s a peaceful and worthwhile experience that complements a visit to Malacca's heritage sites beautifully.

Stadthuys, a prominent attraction in Melaka, is a striking terracotta red building dating back to 1650 from the Dutch colonial era. Initially serving as the Dutch city hall, it later became an English school during British rule. Today, it houses the History and Ethnography museum, offering insights into the city's rich history. This iconic landmark is part of Melaka's colonial heritage and is a must-visit for history enthusiasts.
Visited the history museum and had a pleasant experience. The exhibits were well-organized, with detailed explanations of the artifacts and historical background. They also provided QR codes for visitors to access more information digitally, which was a nice touch. A great place to learn and explore!
Mong M — Google review
The museum is a striking and historically rich landmark that’s well worth visiting while in Malacca. Known for its bold red façade and Dutch colonial architecture, it stands as one of the oldest Dutch buildings in the East, originally built in the 1650s. Today, it houses the History and Ethnography Museum, offering an insightful look into Malacca’s past from the Malay Sultanate through Portuguese, Dutch, and British rule. The exhibits include traditional clothing, artifacts, and detailed displays that help bring history to life. Some parts of the museum could use better upkeep and more interactive features, and a few exhibits feel a bit dated. Still, the overall experience is informative and culturally rewarding.
Abdulkarim A — Google review
Visiting the Stadthuys in Melaka was an unforgettable highlight of my trip. The striking red building stands proudly as a symbol of the city’s colonial history, and walking through its halls felt like traveling back in time. The museum inside is filled with stories, artifacts, and exhibitions that beautifully showcase the Dutch influence and local heritage. The atmosphere around the square was lively yet still carried a sense of history. Truly a must-visit landmark that made me appreciate Malacca even more.

A must visit if you're in Melaka. Stunning architecture and is a tourist hotspot for photography. Explore every building that used to be built from the Dutch's colonial. But do take umbrella and apply some sunscreen for UV protection. Do drink plenty of water. As current weather is so hot. 😄

Step into the heart of Malacca’s rich colonial past with a visit to the Stadthuys. This iconic red building, built between 1641 and 1660, is a masterpiece of Dutch colonial architecture. As the oldest Dutch building in the East, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the European colonial era. Wander through its corridors and explore the historical museum inside, where the story of Malacca’s transformation from Malay Sultanate to Portuguese, Dutch and British rule is told through exhibits and artefacts....

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Zoo Melaka, also known as Melaka Zoo and Night Safari, is a sprawling 54-acre wildlife park that has been a popular attraction since its establishment in 1963. Recently privatized, the zoo is now under new management and aims to transform into an open concept animal exhibit while focusing on wildlife education, breeding programs, and conservation efforts. Visitors can explore the diverse range of animals including Malayan tigers and enjoy activities such as bird shows, keeper talks, and elephant feeding sessions.
Our trip to the zoo was absolutely fantastic! It was such a pleasant surprise to see how well-maintained the zoo has become since our last visit. We were able to spot even more animals this time around. For those traveling with children, I highly recommend taking advantage of their buggy service. The price for an 8-person cart is quite reasonable, and there are plenty of options to choose from. The buggy driver was so informative and made our journey even more enjoyable. We had a wonderful time!

Despite public's review about how well maintained the zoo is, I can't help but notice some closures have worn down and abandoned, with or without animals in them. I did enjoy the free show. It was 30 minutes long and featured birds and mammals flying and running around. I hope people continue to bring their family and friends to visit this zoo because it has potential to be a great attraction in melaka.

Had a great time at Zoo Melaka recently! The place was clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a family outing. We loved the variety of animals and the spacious layout, which was easy to navigate—even with kids. The walking paths were stroller-friendly and shaded in many areas, making it comfortable for little ones. The tram service was a fun bonus! It added excitement to the visit and made it easier to cover more ground without tiring out. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. Parking was convenient, and the overall experience was smooth and enjoyable. A great spot to spend a few hours learning and having fun. Highly recommended for families and animal lovers visiting Melaka!

Went to Zoo Melaka on Friday. Not crowded since it’s a weekday. Ticket price RM39 for adults and RM19 for kids (below 12). The place is clean and easy to walk around, quite a big zoo. There are cafes and kiosks every few meters to buy food or drinks. Not many animals, mostly birds and deer species, but still nice to visit.

Really enjoyed the day. Negative part was having to pay extra to see areas that could have just been added to the flat fee. Really great selection of animals and the enclosures looked spacious enough.

Melaka Zoo is fun! Come during the weekend but not on public holidays – it’s not too crowded. There are bird-feeding activities, and the animals are active and healthy. Around 3 hours is enough to explore the whole zoo. It's perfect for the whole family. There’s a paid tram service and a few food stalls available. Support the zoo, support the animals inside. The best times to visit: 1. Avoid public holidays. 2. Between 12 PM to 3 PM – it’s feeding time for the animals.

A Famosa, a historic remnant of a Portuguese fortress in Melaka, is an intriguing destination for history enthusiasts and families alike. Once featuring impressive ramparts and the towering A Famosa keep, which stood at 60 meters tall until its destruction by the Dutch in 1641, this site now showcases some of the oldest European architectural remains in Southeast Asia.
I visited this historical site in the morning, and it was a great experience. The old building is fascinating, and you can explore everything within 16 minutes. There is also a viewpoint where you can see a beautiful city view. If you plan to visit, avoid going during midday as the temperature can be very high, making it uncomfortable. The best times to visit are in the morning or evening. If you visit in the evening or at night, the place looks stunning with the lights. You can also take great photos here. Highly recommended for history lovers and those who enjoy scenic views!

the old ruins of the portughese fort who once held malacca as one of their strategic trading ports in the spice wars. very popular amongst chinese traveller groups, its a rather tacky experience at sunset and later at night, as the whole town lits up in colorful lights - but still the main attraction of malacca.
Platomica — Google review
I enjoyed the little climb up the hill. Beautiful view. Nice little piece of local history. But a little anticlimactic once you reach the top. The church upstairs is empty with what I believe to be tombstone just placed against the walls. Despite reading about it over and over again...didn't really understand. Were those listed buried under the church? Either way, enjoyed it. Going on a Monday is good, less crowd. What I'll change is remove those vendors up on the hill selling souvenirs and what not, I'm not trying to disrupt businesses but it really spoils the vibe when you're up there trying to enjoy an important piece of history and some guy in his tent be blasting music selling labubu and what not.

🌍 A Walk Through Melaka’s Red Square If there’s one place in Melaka that every traveler ends up at, it’s the Red Square, also known as Dutch Square. Right in the heart of the city, this iconic spot glows with a unique charm – thanks to its terracotta red buildings that have become the face of Melaka’s old town. Stepping into the square feels like stepping into a living postcard. The Stadthuys, built in 1650, stands proudly as one of the oldest Dutch buildings in Asia. Once the governor’s office during the Dutch rule, today it serves as a museum, telling stories of Melaka’s colorful past. Beside it, the Christ Church, with its giant white cross, has watched over the square since 1753. Walk inside and you’ll find Dutch tombstones and a ceiling made entirely without nails – a true masterpiece of old craftsmanship. But Red Square isn’t just about the Dutch. The Queen Victoria Fountain, built by the British in 1904, splashes a refreshing reminder of Melaka’s later colonial chapter. And just a few steps away stands the Tan Beng Swee Clock Tower from 1886, a gift from a wealthy Chinese family – showing how cultures intertwined in this little town. Interestingly, the buildings weren’t always red. During the Dutch era, they were painted white. It was only under the British that the walls turned their famous terracotta shade, creating the “Red Square” we know today. Now, the square is alive with color and sound – trishaws decked in flowers and blasting pop songs, tourists snapping photos, and the scent of local snacks drifting in from nearby stalls. It’s a place where history and modern life meet in one vibrant frame. So, whether you come for the history, the Instagram-worthy shots, or simply to soak up the atmosphere, Red Square is Melaka’s timeless stage, where centuries of stories continue to echo. --- ✨ Fun Facts & Travel Tips 📸 Best photo spot: Capture the Christ Church with the clock tower in the same frame – best taken in the morning before the crowds. 🚲 Trishaw rides: A bit touristy, but fun! Each trishaw is decorated with cartoon themes and lights, and they’ll take you around the heritage zone. 🕰 History nugget: The Stadthuys is almost 400 years old – making it the oldest surviving Dutch building in Southeast Asia. 🌅 Best time to visit: Late afternoon or sunset – when the red walls glow warmly under the golden light. 🍦 Nearby snack: Try the local coconut shake or Nyonya kuih at the small stalls close to the square.

Historical building, and a great spot for photos too. Besides photo opportunities, you’ll also find a kind of traditional carriage driven by an uncle, complete with lively music. The carriages are decorated with various ornaments — definitely a unique experience. A must-visit when you’re in Malacca, as it’s one of the city’s icons. If you’re hungry or thirsty, just cross the street and you’ll find food and beverage stalls, along with chocolate shops. For Muslims, there’s also a surau (prayer room) just across the street. It’s within walking distance of many tourist spots in Malacca, such as Jonker Walk, Malacca Jetty, and A Famosa.

Christ Church Melaka is a historic Protestant church with a striking red exterior, featuring a bell tower and a gift shop. Notably, the ceiling beams are constructed from large wooden trunks without joints, showcasing superior Dutch architectural skills. Over time, the church was modified with the addition of a porch and vestry by the British.

I really love the simple design of this church. Sadly I wasn’t able to get in because it was closed that time. Around the Church are nice old buildings that have the same color of the Church even the streets. I was walking along the area. Been to the shops beside the river. Even tried the river cruise. And been to the ruins and old cemetery. It was nice to visit in the place we’re are rich in history. Of course I love old things, history, architecture, and nature. For me Malacca was really incredible city and people are very nice. They have nice food also. Clean and fascinating buildings and nature. I will definitely go back to this City In Malaysia. I think there are too many things that I must know and discover in Malacca since it was one of the oldest and heritage city in Malaysia. It was amazing so discovered some of their historic events in the older time. I love the old buildings and until now people can see and enjoy it. I admired how olden time constructions are very durable and artistic. I feel so safe walking on the streets because people are very nice and respectful. And also I noticed how responsible they are in terms of rules and regulations on the streets. For nature wise Malacca has it all. And also I like because no concrete jungles Or let’s say skyscrapers like the biggest City in Malaysia KL.

The Shore Oceanarium, located near the sky tower, is a must-visit spot for families. Opened in 2015, it offers an educational and entertaining experience for both adults and children. The interactive touch pool allows visitors to engage with various fish species, while 'River Story' showcases piranhas. Additionally, the oceanarium features a 3D movie theatre where guests can wear special glasses to view fish in a unique way.
so fun, me and my partner came here to waste some waiting for our transport. The 4D turtle movie was very good alongside the scorpions and the fact the environment was designed differently in every room. It felt like a very long experience which was good as it’s worth the money.

Not too bad for a small aquarium in Melaka, staff were friendly and courteous. Not too sure about the conditions the animals were in though, some tanks seem too small, and the colourful lighting was enough to made me dizzy, let alone the sea animals. The management seems half-hearted in managing the place, the entrance is not welcoming, with random plastic drawers and racks haphazardly placed making it look messy. There are also some questionable decisions like: • What looked like a bunch of brinjals sticking out of the wall at the entrance. • Placing a floor piano somewhere inside the aquarium. • Having beam seating placed against the wall with a tank.
Zixiang H — Google review
Nice place to bring young kids for a fun outing! It’s a smaller oceanarium, but everything is clean, well-kept, and easy to walk through. There aren’t a ton of sea creatures, but they’ve made it pretty engaging with interactive games, touch-sensitive lights, and cool 3D animations — our kids definitely enjoyed it. Ticket price is a bit on the high side, but the staff were really friendly and helpful, which made the experience better. The mall itself is pretty quiet — hope they’re able to keep things going and even expand in the future. It’s a cute spot that’s worth a visit if you're in the area.

This place is really wonderful to see many different kinds of fish, reptiles, insects etc. They have telescopes to see the insects world, a 3D shirt movie about some sea animals, and great decorations. The place is designed in a very nice way that keeps everyone interested till the exit. It's a great place to take your kids to, also.

I would say this aquarium is not just an ordinary, boring place that you may have ever been to. Our experience there was wonderful; we had so much fun! The most impressive part is the interactive technology they use. There are so many things you can do in this place; it's so much fun for an adult, imagine if you're a kid. For only RM40, you can learn so much about sea creatures. Not only that, but you can also experience many interactive activities, from sensor-based games, VR viewing, and 3D screenings to even touching the fish yourself. Man, I can tell you the Malaysia aquarium is so engaging with its visitors. The entire aquarium was completely designed, from the layout and set build to the lighting. Melaka has done it! At least for me, this is already a worldwide standard attraction. It's worth the three-hour drive from KL to visit. If you ever have the time to visit Melaka, please don't miss it!

I thought the place was small but it was quite big! No stairs so it's easy access for wheelchairs and strollers. Surely enough the kids will love it because the adults will become like one too 😆. You can touch and feed the fish (for the selected ones only). Overall, it was a good experience for my friends and I.

I had an amazing time with my family at The Shore Oceanarium! It’s such a beautiful place, filled with so many exciting things to do and explore. We got to enjoy a 3D movie, which was such a cool experience, and one of the highlights was being able to feed the fish—it felt so interactive and fun! The atmosphere was fantastic, and it’s definitely a place that’s perfect for both kids and adults to enjoy. We will visit again someday !

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy looking at 🐠 fish and sea creatures such as seahorse, lobster 🦞, crabs, eel, etc. Kids will certainly enjoy going around this place. Ticket price isn't bad. You will also get opportunity to pet small sharks and starfish. Overall, good experience.

Performing arts theater
Encore Melaka is an impressive architectural venue that offers a vibrant neighborhood performing arts theatre experience. With a seating capacity of 1800, it features modernist architectural elements and well-equipped lighting and sound equipment. The theater hosts various events such as product launches, movie premiers, award ceremonies, seminars, and corporate gatherings. The highlight of Encore Melaka is its 70-minute show that showcases different storylines about the history and heritage of Melaka with over 200 local performers.
I really enjoyed the show! The rotating stage and moving seats were amazing and very impressive. The storytelling felt like a piece of art — and even though I’m not someone deeply into art, I still found it enjoyable. The discounted ticket price made it even more worthwhile. I’ll definitely plan to watch Show 2 next!
Tour P — Google review
Encore Melaka stands as a bold and visionary expression of storytelling, culture, and performance. Housed within a purpose-built architectural marvel along the Melaka waterfront, the building itself is a statement—minimalist, modern, and monumental. Designed to support one show and one vision, it reflects a rare commitment to immersive theatre on a scale seldom seen in Southeast Asia. The rotating auditorium, the massive LED backdrops, and seamless use of water, light, and space prepare the audience for something extraordinary even before the story begins. Directed by a renowned Chinese director, Encore Melaka transcends conventional stagecraft. This is not merely a cultural showcase; it’s a cinematic journey through time—one that weaves together the diverse strands of Melaka’s history with poetic fluidity. The choreography, lighting, and audiovisual elements are executed with such precision and emotional depth that they rival—and arguably surpass—the grand productions staged in China’s own cultural arenas. The performance evokes a deep sense of place while maintaining a global standard of artistry. What makes Encore Melaka unforgettable is not just its technical brilliance, but its emotional resonance. The show captures the spirit of Melaka’s multicultural heritage—Malay, Chinese, Indian, Portuguese, and more—with elegance and grace. It doesn’t just tell a story; it awakens a shared memory of the land and its people. For visitors, it’s an unforgettable experience. For Malaysians, it is a proud moment—a reminder that world-class creativity can emerge from our shores and offer something truly original to the world stage.

The stage is moveable, and during the show, there was an incredible raining water effect that truly impressed me. There’s also a coffee shop on-site where you can relax and enjoy a drink before the show. Before entering, there’s a security check—outside food is not allowed, except for mineral water. Additionally, the venue is located near the sea, making it a great spot to take some beautiful photos with the ocean view.

fantastic experience. Without realising, 70 minutes shows just passed like in few minutes, means I am so enjoyed and hope the show time can last longer. After show , they arranged the actors actresses to have photos session with audience which I think was a good idea. The sunset view of strait of Malacca was nice too.
Ipoh T — Google review
The technical aspects of the show like lighting, music, spinning stages, and screening are truly impressive. They create a visually stunning experience that feels very modern and well-executed. Unfortunately, the storyline falls short. The narrative feels fragmented, awkward, and poorly connected from one scene to another. At times, it seems that the production focuses too heavily on showing off its technical capabilities rather than telling a coherent story. As a Malaysian, I also feel that the story doesn’t really capture the true spirit of Melaka or the richness of Nyonya culture. The portrayal feels very surface-level, lacking the depth and authenticity that such a heritage deserves. To be honest, the smaller theatre in Penang’s Peranakan Museum did a far better job of bringing Nyonya culture to life compared to this large-scale production. The use of three languages throughout the show, while perhaps intended to highlight Malaysia’s diversity, ends up making the performance repetitive and awkward. It might have been more effective to tell the story in one main language and provide subtitles for the rest. Similarly, the repeated scripts further weakened the storytelling. If you’re attending purely to enjoy the impressive stage technology, then this show is worth experiencing. But if you’re paying RM78 expecting to be immersed in the cultural spirit of the Nyonya and Melaka, you may leave disappointed. In short: appearances are dazzling, but the content lacks substance.
LIEW X — Google review
The vibrant displays showcase a rich tapestry of cultural heritage. Each movement tells a story, echoing the historical narratives of the region. The captivating performances offer a unique glimpse into the traditions. The synchronized routines and elegant costumes create a mesmerizing experience for the audience. The artistic expression celebrates the enduring spirit of the people and their past.
GWZ85 — Google review
An experience You must have!!! Beautiful theatre... It is amazing they can perform the 3 D effect, interaction with the audience is excellent... After show taking photo with the performers is great. Last for 90 mins value for money. Just the chair is a bit too hard to sit on...
Cwyew168 — Google review
The stage setup and lightings are good. Commendable. Stage performance are so so. Synchronisation is of out of sync. There were subtitles if one of the stories are not in Bahasa and the subtitles carry some alignment and spelling issues. There are 3 MCs and each will speak 3 different languages. Same goes for the performances some are with 3 languages, so you have to wait for the flow of the stories after all languages have been translated. There are 3 stories parking building and surrounding area is a big piece of empty land. There are 2 or 3 food trucks if you want to get some food. There is a small cafeteria. The toilet is very huge and it's airconditioned.

The Kampung Kling Mosque, situated in Malacca City, Malaysia, is a captivating display of the region's diverse cultural and historical background. Constructed in 1748 by Indian Muslim traders during Dutch colonial rule, this mosque showcases a fusion of architectural styles influenced by local Malay, Indian, Chinese, Sumatran, Portuguese and Dutch cultures. Its ornate design features colorful floor tiles and a fountain that reflect the mosque's rich heritage.
One of the interesting spot that I came to during my walking tour in Melaka is this Kampung Kling Mosque that carries a strong Chinese archicture influence on Harmony Street. I was informed that this mosque was built in 1872 by Indian Muslim traders, originally built by wood but later rebuilt using bricks. The design is a fusion of Sumatran, Chinese, Indian and Malay with a Chinese style minaret, triple tiered pyramidal roof, Corinthian columns inside with English and Portugese decorative glazed tiles and a Victorian chandalier.

This Mosque is from the 19th century and is located a little hidden in a side street near the most famous and well-visited Jonker Street Night Market. The Mosque has a small cemetery and a small pool with a fountain. The entire prayer area is covered with carpets and the room is equipped with fans (both standing and hanging from the ceiling). The building is influenced by Hindu architecture and equipped with only one minaret. The mosque is still in use and is used daily.

Visiting the Kampung Kling Mosque (Masjid Kampung Kling) in Malacca was a remarkable cultural and spiritual experience. Located in the heart of the historic city, this mosque is not only a place of worship but also a living testimony to the multicultural heritage of Malaysia. What struck me first was the unique architecture. Unlike most traditional mosques, Kampung Kling combines Islamic, Chinese, and Hindu design elements in a harmonious blend. The tiered roof resembles a pagoda, the intricate woodwork reflects local craftsmanship, and the detailed motifs show the influence of multiple traditions. This fusion makes the mosque stand out as a symbol of Malacca’s diverse history. Inside, the mosque has a peaceful and intimate atmosphere. The prayer hall is simple yet graceful, with delicate carvings and antique features that give a sense of timelessness. Even as a visitor, I felt welcomed and respected, and the quiet environment encouraged reflection and calm. Equally impressive was the surrounding area, with its old cemetery and well-preserved grounds that add to the mosque’s historical depth. It is clear that this site is cherished by the community, both as a place of faith and as a heritage landmark. Overall, my visit to the Kampung Kling Mosque was inspiring. It is more than a religious site; it is a celebration of cultural harmony and a must-see for anyone exploring Malacca.

Masjid Kampung Kling in Melaka is an outstanding example of cultural and architectural heritage. Built in the 18th century, it features a unique blend of Malay, Chinese, and Sumatran design, with a striking green-tiered roof and a distinctive minaret. The mosque is well-preserved and exudes a sense of history and reverence. Its location along Jalan Tukang Emas, part of the historic core of Melaka, makes it easily accessible. A must-visit for anyone appreciating history, culture, and spiritual beauty. Five stars well deserved.

Strolling around Melaka Town and found this old mosque. Stop to pray for respect. Nice ambiance and clean toilet! Just a small mosque. Beside mosque, got small cafe. Also, stop to have snacks.
Fathin Y — Google review
Absolutely beautiful classical example of typically Malaccan Islamic architecture, hugely, nearly by 100% influenced by Chinese architectural style, yet 100% following all the classical Islamic architectural canons.
V K — Google review
I came across this lovely architecture during one of my morning strolls. I love visiting places of worship to admire their design and structure, and this is no exception. The ornate sculptures and the roof design captivated me. I came back in the evening to get some twilight shots. Update-I visited this place again recently after 4 years and noted that nothing has changed much. There were new sinages indicating visiting hours and dress code
Gevs — Google review
Beautiful mosque, but strange experience. Lovely tour guide clearly passionate about her faith, but we would have preferred if she asked permission to take pictures of us and strangely of our eyes. But again, the mosque itself is a must see.

The Melaka Butterfly & Reptile Sanctuary, also known as Taman Rama-rama dan Reptilia Melaka, is a nature facility located just outside the city at Ayer Keroh. Spanning 11 hectares of jungle, it offers open-air exhibits including a butterfly aviary, various snake species, and a serene koi pond. Visitors can immerse themselves in the diverse flora and fauna of Malaysia while supporting local butterfly conservation efforts through their visit.
Came here on Sunday. First time here and was impressed and surprised by how well this place is organised. For the price of the ticket I think it is worth it. Other than butterflies, there are many species of birds, lizards, snake, tortoises, crocodiles, fish, and more. There are indeed a lot of butterflies. I have been to some other butterfly park but the butterflies here are the most abundant and they may come and rest on you (be sure not to harm them ya). Take some time to take some nice pictures. This place is shady and well ventilated. So the experience is not so bad. The park is clean too. You can buy some foods to feed the animals. And there are some shows too. Remember to check the timing. Overall, this is a very good park to come with young kids. It is located just near the exit of the Ayer Keroh toll. Highly recommended.

Absolutely one of the best parks I’ve visited! The butterfly room was a standout — butterflies freely fly around you, sometimes even landing on your hands or shoulders. It’s a beautiful and surreal experience unlike anything I’ve seen before. The entire sanctuary has a jungle-like atmosphere, with lush greenery and well-designed enclosures. It really feels like stepping into nature. The staff were friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive vibe. Just a heads-up: there are quite a few stairs throughout the park, so it might be a bit tricky if you’re visiting with a stroller or carrying a baby. Overall, a wonderful place to explore with family — peaceful, immersive, and full of surprises!
Lazizbek E — Google review
The entrance fee for Malaysians is RM32 per adult, and there’s usually no queue. What makes this place interesting is that it features a variety of animals, almost like a mini zoo. Friendly staff are available to explain more about the animals and insects, making it a fun and educational experience. You can even feed some of the animals for an additional RM8, which covers the cost of the animal food. On average, visitors spend about 1 hour and 30 minutes exploring the entire area.

Best ever experience and worth every penny. my kids enjoyed a lot and staffs are very friendly. The place well maintained. Clean, shaded mostly and less odour compared to other zoo/farm. Quite number of interaction with animals too esp feeding the turtle, emu, parrots & fish. One of must visited place in Malacca.

The place & their animal was well taken care of 🐍 Good attitude and assist from their staff. They even explained about those animals history, giving us knowledge at the same time. Went there on monday, so no queue & really fast enter. Affordable pricing for such a good quality of place. Have varieties of animals & such a good cafes provided. Sadly i didnt get the chance to pet the snakes, but it’s ok. I get to pet the lizards is fine 🦎

Best! We took the extreme route. 35 stations. Started at 9am cus want to avoid the heat. And managed to finish it in 2 hrs. Staff was so friendly, experienced and attentive. Enjoyed very much. The place is a shared space with others so ur friends who are not interested to play can go for runs or picnics-ish. There is a small stall nearby. Not sure what they sell tho. The toilets there were so clean. Not sure if there was a shower area. Nice for day trips for Singaporeans. Bought tix on Klook!!!

This is my first time taking up this obstacle challenge. I had so much fun! I have to say the staff are very professional and put safety first. English-speaking staff are readily available if one needs them. Equipment and obstacle stations are well-built and well-maintained. Minor wear and tear are seen but still safe! The stations are built deep into the forest as I progress through the different stations because my husband actually lost sight of me from the ground. My kid, who just turned 10, had a lot of fun too. He managed to hit the 140cm height requirement to go on the same obstacle as me. He was in front of me, and when he had difficulty or got stuck on any part of the obstacles, they would promptly attend to him. I am very pleased with their attention and sense of safety to help my child who has totally no experience. We spent about 2 hours there. 10-12pm and it was not hot up there.. because we were in the tree shade most of the time. I regretted not getting a pair of gloves from them because holding those ropes and hurdles can hurt. My skin didn’t tear though, so did my kid’s. Mosquito repellent and water are a must. Cold drinks are also available at the counter area. We were given a 15% discount on the receipt for the next visit within a month. Cellular network reception could have been better because we took a Grab car and it took us about 10mins to book another Grab car back to accommodation. Overall, we had a great time there.

We took the extreme warrior course (35 obstacles) with Adzim as our guide. It was a fun experience. Lots of zip lining (flying foxes) and cable crossing throughout the course. 2 obstacles are especially difficult but with clear explanations from Adzim and demonstrations, we managed to clear the 2 obstacles as well. Adzim often reminded us to rest and pace ourselves accordingly so that we could finish the whole course with ease. Thanks skytrek adventure melaka for the fun experience.

Villa Sentosa, located in the old village of Kampong Morten along the Malacca River, is a well-preserved traditional house that now serves as a living-history museum. Built in 1920, it offers visitors a glimpse into the lifestyle of the wealthy Malay community during the early 20th century. The villa features exhibits from that period, including antique Chinese ceramics and an old Quran. Guided tours by the owners provide insights into the displayed items and allow for questions.
We felt at home. The owner was so kind and welcomed us so warmly. He was very good with children too. He took us around the house and explained everything. The visit is free but accepts donations which we left with great pleasure. Highly recommended.

A very nostalgic home located in the middle of Kampung Morten. Limited parking space. Not required fee to enter this house. Ooen from 11:00am - 5:30pm. May walk or went there via cruise as well. Located near kg. Morten bridge. Upon our arrival, we warmly welcomed by the house owner, Mr. Ibrahim. During house tour, he explained about his family lineage from his great2 grandfather until his generation which originally came from Sungai Puah, West Sumatera, Indonesia. He brought us for the house tour. He explained us the history of the house, the function of each area of the house including the origin of Kg. Morten name. Interesting visit. At here, we still able to see antique collection like records, traditional games like congkak, antique dishware and many more. Being here made me felt like back to village since the house design, the aura of home and Mr. Ibrahim himself same age as my late grandfather. Wish Mr. Ibrahim stay healthy and the house will be preserved for youngster and future generations.

Kampung Morten is a village of traditional Malay houses in Melaka. One of these houses is Villa Sentosa, which has been converted into a museum and is open to the public. However it is maintained independently by a family, so please do check in with them if you are going in too early to after five in the evening. The family are really sweet and one kindly old man of the family gave us a tour even though we arrived after five in the evening. There are ticket charges, but would definitely recommend leaving donations as it is out of the UNESCO buffer zone so they receive no funding for maintenance of this.
Chhanda B — Google review
We struggled to find the right house as there is no sign, but actually Google map is correct. If the owner is busy, you just go inside and walk around until he is free. We had a nice chat with him, and knowing about the history of the house, the village and the family is interesting. We haven't seen such Malay houses anywhere else, so totally recommend it. We left a small donation at the end.
Didier L — Google review
It may be a little bit biased here because I'm the family member who owned the villa. Generally the villa is the main house (Rumah Ibu) while surrounded with another 3 houses (Rumah Anak2) and all the houses are within a large corner of the village which have the best view. The villa is currently a museum, listed under Malacca tourism and closely monitored & maintained by generation.
Kamilia K — Google review
This is a must-do if you are visiting Malacca. Take a step back in time to visit this wonderful attraction. Upon arrival, Ibrahim welcomed us into his home and showed us around his home. Ibrahim is a very interesting man who speaks with so much pride in his family home and the history it holds. He took the time to sit with us and chat on his veranda, telling us interesting facts and tales from the past 100 years of Villa Sentosa. There is no entrance fee, but a small donation is appreciated as the house is not protected by UNESCO. Therefore, maintenance is paid for by the family. We look forward to coming back again in the future, and the experience is one we will cherish for years to come.

Visited back in Feb. The Orangutan House is a quirky little shop selling art and t-shirts designed by Charles Cham. Most of the t-shirts have a design in the centre with a local Malaysian flavour. I only bought one shirt due to the finite space in my backpack and it was a hard choice. There’s also some paintings on display, but I didn’t try to find out if they were for sale. Worth a look if you’re in Malacca, especially if you’re on the lookout for a unique tee from the city as a memento.

In general, staff are very friendly and helpful. However there was staff in orange puffing away near the attractions. Another staff in orange sitting idly on the edge of a wall that is four-storey high. Not professional. Need retraining for some of the staff. Water quality OK. We went there during weekday so visibly less crowds. There were lots of dead or decapitated insects bodies in the wave pool. Some attractions do not have sufficient water flow and one of my kids got injured using this partially dry slide! Given that this is a 14-year old facility, the condition of the park is not bad. Most importantly the entrance is relatively cheap. If you stay near Melaka and in need of some splashes, choose this instead of A famosa waterpark. All in all, please ensure sufficient water flow in all slide facilities to ensure safety. Retrain staff and take care of water quality in the wave pool.

It's a small waterpark with about 4 water rides. You need to rent the tube used for the water rides and you need to rent a different tube that can be use for the wave pool and lazy river only. Part of the pathway to the water rides are paved in asphalt. Hurts a lot if you're barefoot however you cannot go on the rides wearing any footwear. Definitely not worth the money spent.
Azuma A — Google review
My overall experience at Melaka Wonderland was not very satisfying. We had to wait at the entrance for at least 15 minutes, which was quite inconvenient. The condition of the slides was not very clean. Some of the slide designs were not suitable for young children, which led to my child injuring his foot. There were not enough lifeguards on duty to ensure that children were not climbing or standing on top of the slides. This poses a serious safety risk if not properly monitored. Even though we wore proper swimwear, we sometimes got stuck while using the slides, possibly due to insufficient water flow. This can be dangerous for other users. In fact, for one or two slides, we had to wait in a long queue just to allow those who were stuck to slide all the way down safely. The walkways were extremely hot, and footwear was not allowed. My child ended up with blisters on her feet because of the rough surfaces and small stones, which were quite painful. I also experienced foot pain. The lazy river was not appealing — the ambiance was poor, there was no shade like trees, and the area was quite small. However, the condition of the toilets was good.

The Upside Down House Melaka, also known as Rumah Terbalik Melaka, is a quirky and fun tourist attraction that offers a unique experience for visitors. Modeled after a typical Malaysian house, it features five rooms including a living room, kitchen, children's room, master bedroom, and bathroom. The interior is decorated with upside-down furniture and decor, creating the illusion of walking on the ceiling.
It’s a new spot open, we got free entry with cruise tickets. Quite decent place for few hours to click nice pictures. It truly lives upto its name.

Upside Down House Melaka (Rumah Terbalik Melaka) proves to be more of a letdown than a unique attraction. Many visitors feel that it’s a waste of time and money, with nothing truly fantastic to offer. The much-touted upside down effects fall flat because the ceiling is set too high, diminishing the intended visual impact. The attraction features three distinct rooms that attempt to showcase different upside down themes, yet even these varied setups fail to impress. On a positive note, the staff is notably helpful—they even assist visitors in taking pictures, which is a small bright spot in an otherwise underwhelming experience. Overall, if you’re expecting a quirky and immersive adventure, you might be better off exploring other attractions in Melaka.

Similar to the one in JB but smaller area, only 3 rooms whereas the one in JB has a few storeys. Staff were helpful in taking photos. Nothing much to do except taking photos & seeing the furniture stuck to the ceiling. Open daily from 10am to 7pm except Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays it closes at 9pm. Tickets : Adults Rm18 Kids 13yrs & above Rm18 Kids 12yrs & below Rm12 Senior cutizens Rm12. Parking along the street if available.

Small area with 3 room. Full of decorations like an apartment. A fun place to go with kids. Decorations are attractive and colorful. Helpful worker on helping taking photo.

Unleash your crazy side with the entire family and friends at Upside Down House Gallery! Modeled after the archetypal Malaysian house, the exhibition is divided into 5 specially designated rooms – living room, kitchen, baby room, master bedroom, and bathroom. All are well-furnished with home décor and interiors, except they're located in their usual places upside down! The main entrance is also a popular place that people visit for fun pictures. Make the most out of your experience by trying different angles in this unique and fun place and be sure to strike some wacky poses! Don't hesitate to ask any member of the staff, they might even suggest some fun ideas for your snaps!

Upside Down House is a blend of art, play, and illusion. Perfect spot for families, couples. Highly recommended for its pleasant and friendly atmosphere.

It is a cozy small house-like shop lot, equipped with beds, a toilet, kitchen, dining table, and various playful elements like Spiderman, a rickshaw, and a bicycle. The person who enjoyed the experience the most was my son, Devan. His curiosity and joy were evident, and his favorite spot was the toilet bowl. I jokingly told him that something might fall out from there, and he eagerly waited, constantly returning to check. Our visit lasted approximately 45 minutes, although I didn't keep track of time precisely. The staff members were incredibly friendly and helpful. They assisted us in taking numerous photos, and thanks to them, my son and I had a wonderful time and captured some delightful memories. If you're accompanied by young children, I highly recommend visiting and taking photos. The inquisitiveness of a young child will brighten your day, and children under 90cm tall can enter free of charge. My son didn't require a ticket, and I paid only RM 22, which was an excellent deal. Upon returning home, he was worried that his bed might float up to the ceiling. As soon as we arrived, he rushed to check on his bed. Now he's peacefully asleep. Thank you, Melaka Upside Down House, for the unforgettable experience.

A'Famosa Safari Wonderland is a zoological park that offers safari-style truck tours, animal petting, and feeding activities for families. Visitors can ride on horses, camels, and elephants while walking among flamingos, raccoons, and ostriches. The safari trucks provide a complete animal safari experience with sightings of giraffes, tigers, and more. The Monkey Island Cruise allows glimpses of monkeys, squirrels, and white-handed gibbons.
Spend my whole daylight here from 10.30am - 5pm. Enjoyable shows, interesting safari to look at. No room for boredom. Better than any zoo in Malacca. A must visit place if you're coming to Malacca for a trip especially with children. Really enjoyed a wild wild west show for us adult. Food price inside a little bit pricey. Don't forget to bring a fan if you are bringing your little ones!
Mashizam Z — Google review
Here’s my honest review: Ticket: Bought from a personal shopper during MATTA Fair. Slightly on the high side but still RM1 cheaper than the published rate—so, can’t complain much. Parking: Quite a distance from the entrance, but understandable since it was a busy weekend. Animals: The lion, tiger and snake were on vacation—lazy and sleepy. But other animals were very active and entertaining. Most enclosures were clean and well-kept. Shows: All the shows were okay but the elephant show was the most enjoyable. Funny moment: during the elephant swimming show, the elephant suddenly pooped, and the poop floated around during the entire performance. 😂 The only show I truly HATED was the Wild Wild West. It felt like they were trying too hard to be funny—loud explosions that startled everyone, broken English, cheap stunts. The ONLY thing that saved that show was the fact it was a live performance. Rides: The Safari Tour was just okay. The queuing was insane—waited almost an hour. Sadly, the tour itself was boring (a little bit better than the queuing experience) as most of the animals were unresponsive, probably tired and full. Monkey Island was another letdown—only two types of monkeys there. Food & Drinks: Bring your own WATER! As expected, the F&B inside was overpriced with subpar quality—fine dining price, but low-grade food. Animal feed was no better—RM10 for three small green bananas to feed the elephants. You can buy a whole bunch of Cavendish bananas outside for that price! Overall Verdict: Would I recommend it? Yes, if you have the money and time. This is probably the closest safari experience Malaysians can get. Would I go again? YES… IF YOU PAY FOR ME! 😆

A’Famosa Safari Wonderland is a fun and exciting spot for the whole family! The safari truck ride was the highlight — we got to see giraffes, zebras, and even tigers up close! The kids loved the petting zoo and Monkey Island cruise. The place is clean, well-maintained, and staff were friendly. Shows like the Wild West performance and bird show were entertaining too. Overall, a great mix of adventure and learning. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Melaka with kids!

Very easy to buy tickets on their website. Satff is very friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Various activities and live shows provided. The most fun live shows to watch and not to be missed are Wild Wild West (3W), Elephant Aquatic and Animal Fantasy (very recommended). However, there are also less interesting activities such as at monkey island (there is only one species of monkey and the exhibition area is under renovation) For photo cards, fridge magnets and merchandise are very cheap and affordable. Overall 10/10

A’Famosa Safari Wonderland is an expansive 150‑acre wildlife park in Alor Gajah, Melaka, featuring over 100 animal species housed in naturalistic habitats From the moment you step inside, the park delivers a blend of safari adventure, interactive encounters and live shows—perfect for families seeking both thrills and education. The highlight is the Safari Truck Ride, where zebras, giraffes, tigers and elephants roam freely around your secure vehicle—making it feel like a true open‑air safari The Walk‑Through Area offers beautifully landscaped paths with flamingos, raccoons, camels, ostriches, emus and capybaras within reach—as well as a petting zone where kids can feed sheep and goats The Monkey Island Cruise is delightful and memorable; after a short raft ride, cheeky capuchins, gibbons and squirrel monkeys greet visitors and even hop on board—just don’t feed them anything except water for safety Animal feeding sessions—particularly with elephants, lions and tigers—can be arranged for extra charge and are a hit with kids. Even if you don’t pay, you can often observe the feeding up close The live shows elevate the experience: the Wild Wild West Show features cowboy stunts and pyrotechnics; the Elephant Show highlights these majestic creatures’ intelligence; and the Animal Fantasy and Avian Stars Show combine entertainment with conservation messages Reviews consistently praise the park’s layout, cleanliness, and friendly staff. Many visitors report outstanding family experiences, some even opting for annual passes for multiple visits in a year Operating hours are generally 9:30 AM–6:00 PM (closed Tuesdays except public holidays), and tickets are affordably priced (approximately RM 50 for adults, RM 40 for children), with discounts for online booking or combo passes Visitors recommend coming early to avoid crowds and mid‑day heat, bringing sunscreen, hats and water, and planning showtimes and safari rides into a tight itinerary In summary, A’Famosa Safari Wonderland earns high marks for its immersive safari truck ride, close‑up wildlife encounters, fun live shows and family‑friendly atmosphere—truly one of Malaysia’s top wildlife attractions.

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding several unpleasant incidents that occurred during our group visit to A’Famosa on 22 October 2025. Our group consisted of kindergarten and primary school students, along with accompanying teachers. *1. Bag Inspection Procedure* It was very disappointing to witness your staff using a plastic stick to check visitors’ bags. This act is highly inappropriate, degrading, and disrespectful to visitors, especially in front of young children. If your staff are concerned about hygiene, they should be provided with gloves instead of using such methods. This practice reflects poorly on the professionalism and hospitality standards expected from a reputable family attraction like A’Famosa. *2. Handling of Special Needs Visitor* We fully understand and respect your policy prohibiting outside food. However, exceptions should be made on a case-by-case basis, especially for visitors with special needs. On that day, one of our students—an autistic child—insisted on bringing along his own snacks (four small tidbits). We clearly explained his condition to the Indian lady staff, requesting understanding and flexibility to allow at least one item for him. Unfortunately, our explanation was immediately rejected, and the child began showing signs of distress and tantrum before another Malay lady staff member finally allowed us to bring in one cream bun. Such lack of empathy, awareness, and sensitivity towards special-needs children is deeply disappointing and unacceptable. *3. Unprofessional and Unethical Conduct* While waiting for our travel agent to finalize the ticketing process, we were shocked to witness the Indian lady staff member opening seized food items and eating them in front of visitors. She was also seen taking several seized food items and walking to a corner to keep them aside. This behavior is highly unprofessional, unethical, and disrespectful, setting a very poor example in front of the children present. We sincerely hope the management will take this matter seriously and conduct a thorough internal review. A’Famosa is a well-known family destination, and it is important for your staff to demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and integrity at all times—especially when dealing with school groups and children. Attached are photos and a video taken by our teachers for your perusal and verification.

A'Famosa Water Theme Park, also known as Water World, is a vibrant and exciting destination for families and friends to enjoy a day of aquatic fun. As one of the largest water parks in Malaysia, it offers over 12 attractions including long serpentine slides, pools for inner tubes, and a thrilling Wave Pool that mimics gentle ocean waves. The park caters to all ages with its Big Ice Cream attraction and Arabian Village playground for younger visitors.
⭐ A’Famosa Water Theme Park Melaka Review ⭐ Visiting A’Famosa Water Theme Park was a fun family experience. Here are some highlights from our trip: 🎟️ Ticket & Entry It’s best to book your tickets online in advance, especially during school holidays, to avoid wasting time in the long queues. Don’t forget to prepare your swimming attire. Lockers are available for rent so you can safely keep your belongings. 🌊 Attractions & Activities The park has a large wave pool with real waves and loud music very lively and fun. There are also gazebos where you can rest and relax between activities. The theme park is quite big with different sections, including exciting high slides (with certain conditions and rules). One of the best attractions is the lazy river, where you can float along as the water gently pulls you around the park. It was very enjoyable and relaxing. 🍴 Facilities There are tables and small shops where you can buy food and drinks. The toilets and changing rooms are okay and convenient enough for families. 👨‍👩‍👧 Family Experience My kids really enjoyed the day here, especially the wave pool and the lazy river. It’s a great place for family bonding, and we will definitely come again. ✅ Overall A’Famosa Water Theme Park is a fun and family friendly place with lots of water attractions to enjoy. Just plan ahead, book online, and be prepared for a busy crowd during peak seasons.

We were there at 11, right when they open. However most pools were not ready yet. Many slides were out of order (and you don’t get informed when paying). Maybe due to the loud music there were not many Families. The target group seems to be young, local adults. They have a beautiful plant population, it would be great to focus more on the flowers than to put hundreds of mini plastic wind-turbines.

It was a great experienced and we all have fun here! We came here during weekend but a week before school holiday started to people are not crowded at all. Even the theme park is old, but the fun is still there. My kids and i are happy here. But the foods are pricey, please save money before come here.

A Famosa Water World is a great place for a family day out with lots of fun zones to explore! My favourite is the river area, the waves are really strong and super fun, but you have to be careful because some tubes can flip. If you bring kids, make sure to watch them closely during the wave ride. The beach-style area with sand and the wave pool is also nice, relaxing and perfect for some healing time while the kids enjoy playing with sand. The kids’ play area is simple but still enjoyable. There are many slides for adults too, though I didn’t try them since I’m not into thrill rides. Toilets and changing rooms are big, clean, and comfortable. Overall, it’s a fun, refreshing place to spend the day with family, and the best part is tubes are free!

Advise to purchase the ticket from authorized A’Famosa Price is much better compare with others You may choose either with meal or not Plenty car park but chargeable RM3.50 Buying ticket online, you may not need to redeem ticket. Straight walk into Water Theme Park. Lately no more renting tube, sound good, can save some, tube can redeem free.
Wong — Google review
Okay, let's be real. It is an old water park, some slides were under renovation or out of order is understandable. No issue there cuz majority of the ride is still operational. For safety purposes, certain weight and height requirements are needed for some of the ride. If you are not in the range, the guard will bar you from going on it. Which is still fine by me cuz it is a hazard and a liablity on everybody present. To which I am confuse when and why did they added a splash maker to the lazy river. It is called a LAZY RIVER, for goodness sake. As a frail person, I wanted to enjoy some gentle water floating that wouldnt get me ashore like the wave pool. Due to the splash maker producing waves to the gentle stream of the lazy river, it becomes a hot spot for squaters with the free to use tube to wait at that spot for the wave it produce after the splash in a 5 min intervals that is not actively present at the wave pool in the middle of the park. First, the squaters are preventing other people who are not waiting for the splash an ease of passage to go through, especially when the number of patron increasing during the day. Second, if you are not part of the grouping that can stabilize your floaties, you would most likely to tumble over from the incoming waves, in which I did. Was knocked out by other ppl tube, during the confusion and trying not to drown, I even bang my head to the wall. Third, there was a guard there but they are most likely be there to prevent the patron from going up to the splash maker. Urgh, all in all, I was only able to enjoy the kiddy pool, arabian village cuz that were the area my family decided to be our anchor spot since all the cabana was rented out. Pool water cleanliness quality is mid for me. There were like sand, dead leaves and small twigs from the trees nearby in the water, which is still okay-ish for me. For ppl who are paranoid best avoid it. The park itself was clean enough and if you can, invest in a good water shoe. They are great to prevent slipping and traveling from 1 spot to another rather than barefoot since the floor would be pretty hot after a while under the sun or stepping on an unnoticed small pebbles. Food and beverages are available but if you are picky and unimpressed by constricting nature of a water park pricing, I suggest you look elsewhere after you exited the park. The changing facility and toilet are decent. Was able to do my business and change out of the wet clothes comfortably. Again, you are at a water park, expect water to be everywhere. No dryness what so ever. Parking situation, I feel it is best to park on the outside provided parking space, since they provide shuttle from the parking area to the entrance of the water park. There is also availabilty to park nearer to the entrance, with the fee of RM3.50, which is limited. First come, first serve situation. And yes, Im just irked about the lazy river. Pls ignore the redundancy about the splash maker, I am that level of "sakit hati" about it. It is just my opinion.

Klebang Beach is a lively coastal gem that promises an unforgettable experience for all types of travelers. Nestled just a short drive from Melaka City, this beach boasts stunning white sand dunes that create a picturesque backdrop, making it a favorite among photographers and nature lovers alike. Visitors can indulge in thrilling activities such as ATV rides along the expansive shoreline or enjoy leisurely horse riding while soaking in the sea views.
Quite a popular destination for the local tourists, this beach is gets very packed from 12 noon onwards especially during weekends right until the night. There are lots of traders offering seats and tables for rent, tools for building sandcastle, bubble makers. You can practically spend the entire day relaxing under the shaded tree areas.

A good place to go with family and friends. Have a many food trucks and variety food to eat. Many activities you can do here. ATV ride, playing kites, relaxing. Definitely not a beach where you can hop in to the water or sunbathe. Apparently there are crocodiles in the water 🤔 Lots of local food and drink spots for the afternoon and evening - probably the best time to visit would be the evening if you wanted a change of scenery from Malacca and a bit of breeze from the sea. Horse rides and ATVs are available for kids but if you're looking for a nice beach to have a lounge in the sun this isn't the spot.

Melaka Botanical Garden, located in Ayer Keroh, offers a serene escape from the city with its lush greenery and diverse flora and fauna. Spanning 92.5 hectares, it features three main sections: the forestry gallery, dinosaur park, and canopy walk. Visitors can enjoy activities such as picnicking, jogging, walking, and cycling while immersing themselves in nature. The garden also houses the Book Village with over 15,000 books for a relaxing afternoon read.
Melaka Botanical Garden 🌳🚴‍♀️🌞 This is one of the best places to relax and enjoy nature, full of beautiful flora and fauna. You might see some wild animals like jungle cats and monkeys 🐒—just be careful and please don’t feed them. Don’t worry, they won’t disturb you if you don’t disturb them. A lot of people come here for jogging and walking, but when I arrived around 2 PM, it was still quiet. Usually, the crowd comes in from 4 PM to 7 PM 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️. There's plenty of parking space 🚗 and it’s not far from the entrance. I came here in the afternoon riding an electric bicycle 🚴‍♀️—so nice and cooling! The whole track is covered with tall trees 🌲 so it's shady and cool, perfect for jogging or cycling. Just take note, the path is a bit hilly, so if you're on a bike, keep your brakes ready at all times ⚠️. At the entrance, there’s a small café ☕—great for relaxing or ‘healing’ after your walk. At first, it may look like there’s not much to see, but once you go further in, you’ll find gardens, clean toilets 🚻, and some fun animal replicas 🦁🐘. Each trail also has clear direction signs to help guide you 🧭. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here. It's such a peaceful and beautiful place to exercise and unwind. Highly recommended for nature lovers! 🌿💚

The Melaka Botanical Garden is such a huge and beautiful park, and the best part is—it’s completely free! Before you even step inside, there’s a cycle shed at the entrance where you can rent a bicycle for a really reasonable price. The cheapest rental starts at only RM5, which is super worth it. The cycling track is quite unique, with mount-like slopes that make the ride fun and a little adventurous. If you’re not into cycling, the park is also one of the best places for jogging or just enjoying a peaceful walk surrounded by greenery. The air feels so fresh, and the whole place gives off a calm, relaxing vibe. It’s a perfect spot to exercise, spend time with family, or simply escape from the busy city. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Melaka! 🌿🚴‍♂️

This area with a good clealiness and under coverage of big trees as a natural canopy to walk by. 7. Overall is good. tqvm

A wonderful escape from the city! The garden feels like a real jungle — calm, green, and full of nature. We were lucky enough to spot a monkey, a lizard, and even a squirrel. Just keep your eyes open — they blend in well! A quick tip: don’t get too close to the monkeys or stare into their eyes — they can get a bit aggressive. It’s also a great spot for a picnic or just a quiet walk in nature. However, the place felt a bit abandoned or perhaps under maintenance when we visited — several areas were closed off, which was disappointing. Still, overall a great nature experience for those looking to disconnect and enjoy some greenery.

Thu 11 Sep 2025 My wife and I decided to visit the Melaka Botanical Garden in Ayer Keroh after our morning walk, and it turned out to be a refreshing escape into nature. The weather was pleasantly cool when we arrived, and we couldn’t resist taking some landscape photos at the small waterfall near the entrance — a lovely spot to start the day. We then strolled along the shady paths, surrounded by the thick tropical forest. The air was fresh, and the dense canopy made the walk cool and comfortable. After about 15 minutes of soaking in the greenery, we decided to explore further by hiring a buggy ride (RM40). Our buggy driver, Navind, was both friendly and informative. He gave us an enlightening tour of the Park, pointing out highlights and sharing tidbits along the way. The ride made it easier to cover more ground, and by the end, Navind even dropped us conveniently near our car at the entrance — a thoughtful touch that made the whole visit smoother. What we loved: * Peaceful setting and lush greenery — perfect for photography, walking, or jogging. * Variety of attractions inside: waterfalls, deer park, suspension bridges, and playgrounds. * Affordable buggy rides that make the park accessible even if you don’t want to walk too much. * Friendly service — a big shoutout to Navind for making our tour memorable! Things that could improve: * More signage would help first-time visitors navigate the different attractions. * Bring insect repellent — the forest setting means mosquitoes are part of the package. **Verdict:** Our morning visit was both relaxing and memorable. Between the peaceful walk, photo spots, and the enjoyable buggy tour, this is a gem for both locals and tourists who want a dose of nature in Melaka. Highly recommended for couples, families, or anyone looking to unwind amidst greenery. 🌿📸

One of the best place in Melaka to cycle, jog, briskwalk or even rent a cart here. Even when the weather is hot outside, the thick forest in here gives a very cooling and nice shade to walk in here, kinda feel like you are being immersed with lush of nature. Be careful during weekdays and non peak hours tho, as I saw big lizards here and I read someone saw a poisonous snake too. The good thing is, this place is monitored and well taken care of, even the restrooms inside is good too. Lots of monkey lotongs here too, don't bring food or terrorive them, just ignore and act like you belong. Again, amazing place

My first visit after a decade but it is still very well maintained. In fact upgraded too. I thought there will be a lot of mosquito but surprisingly none of my family has seen or hit one. Do expect a lot of monkey though. They weren't there when we arrive at 0900 but they come put after 10am. It's like they have a schedule. Definitely worth to visit for a morning walk or exercise.

The Malaysia Prison Museum, located in the former Banda Hilir Prison built in 1860, offers a chilling glimpse into the country's penal history. Fully vacated in 2010, this museum now showcases artifacts and preserves the legacy of the historic building and its former inmates. Visitors can explore cells, halls, interrogation rooms, gallows, and punishment areas to gain insight into how convicts lived and survived during the 18th century.
There are too many interesting attractions in Melaka and not too many people realize that it is a prison museum that is located not too far from Jonker Street. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first and only museum with prison as its theme in Malaysia. It is a very interesting and educational visit where we have been given a briefing and demo by a friendly prison officer. It is free entrance and you can plan to stay for 2-3 hours. Apparently it is a very meaningful and unforgettable visit especially for the young children.

I took my two little rascals to the Melaka Prison Museum, thinking it would just be another sightseeing stop — turns out, it was an unexpectedly meaningful and eye-opening experience for the whole family. This place isn’t your average tourist spot. It’s a real former prison, and from the moment you step inside, there’s this heavy atmosphere that hits you. Walking through the cells, the execution area, and the inmates' quarters really gave my kids a taste of what life behind bars is like. Their expressions changed from curious to serious pretty quickly — mission accomplished! They finally understood that freedom isn’t something to be taken for granted. The museum is well-maintained, and the exhibits are detailed and immersive, with plenty of informative displays. One of the staff even shared some fascinating stories that brought the place to life. Honestly, this experience was far more powerful than a hundred lectures on “don’t break the law.” My boys left saying, “We better stay out of trouble!” — and I couldn’t have asked for a better takeaway. Highly recommend this spot for families. It’s educational, a little intense, and definitely memorable. A rare gem in Melaka for those looking to go beyond the usual tourist route.

Step into an authentic prison turned museum—no tickets, no reservations, and no lines! Featuring genuine historical artifacts, guided tours by real police officers, and even displays of past punishments like caning, this unique experience offers a stark reminder of the importance of law and order. Whether you're a Malaysian local or a visitor from abroad, a visit here is guaranteed to leave a lasting educational impact, reinforcing the value of adhering to the law. Highly recommended for a thought-provoking and unforgettable experience.

Wonderful visit. A little creepy. A nice change for places to visit in Melaka. Nice insight to prison life in Malaysia. Shows the history, the holding cells, the stories...BUT a little disappointed in the souvenir shops, I believe it can be marketed better. However, I still enjoyed visiting it. Will I revisit it? With friends and family who hasn't been, sure.

Visited the Muzium Penjara Melaka and it was such an eye-opening experience. The place is well-maintained and filled with detailed information about Malaysia’s prison history. You can actually walk through the old cells and see how inmates used to live. It’s both eerie and fascinating at the same time. The staff were friendly and helpful too. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Melaka and love historical places!

Visited the Malaysia Prison Museum in Melaka and was truly impressed. The museum is located in a real former prison, which gives it a very authentic and eerie atmosphere. It offers deep insight into the life of prisoners, the prison system, and even capital punishment history in Malaysia. The exhibits are detailed, with actual cells, punishment tools, uniforms, and even a gallows room. It's not a place for young children, but for adults and older teens, it's an educational experience. The staff were helpful, and the entrance fee was very affordable. I recommend spending at least an hour here to absorb everything.

Free entrance! Free parking. Besttt, it was an educational trip for the kids. Quite large area inside, so many rooms to see.. And a lot of info. We spent about 45 minutes there. Nice to visit 👍👍👍

Entrance is free. Very eye opening experience for the young to understand how prison life is going to be like. Hopefully to deter them to get into trouble with the law. Lots of spot for you to take photo acting as inmate.

Melaka River Cruise Jeti Taman Rempah offers day and night boat tours that showcase vibrant murals, historic bridges, and illuminated landmarks. The cruise provides a 45-minute leisurely exploration of the city's highlights, including the traditional Malay village Kampung Morten and captivating murals along Jonker Walk. Visitors can board the cruise at either Muara Jetty near Quayside Heritage Centre or Taman Rempah Jetty next to Hang Jebat bridge.
Quick 30 minute boat ride with explanation of where all are you crossing(as per culture and area in malasian and English) and music on the way back. Pretty ride. Unfortunately they don't let you get off. You have to go and come back completely the whole way. Would've been great if they had like a day pass option for the whole day. Scenic , pretty

I took the cruise on a weekend, only a few of us on the boat. The staffs were very accommodating and helpful to my elderly parents and in law (93, 86, 81). The cruise provides the elderly a scenic view of Malacca river and shops by the river. A different perspective from Jonker Street and minimal walking for the elderly. Despite a hot day, the breeze was cooling and nice. We were given free access to Malacca River Park and my parents had a go at VR and took lots of photos at upside down house. Highly recommended for the old and young.

The staff were friendly and helpful. It was very easy to get the ticket and then line up for the boat. We do not have to wait long for the ride. Nice experience cruising the river with beautiful buildings adorning both sides of the river. We were treated with information on the history of Melaka while enjoying the ride. It was breezy as we took the boat in the evening while the sun is almost setting. It's nice that we can capture the sceneries for both sides at the same time. This cruise opens early and end quite late in the evening. It's worth it.

I had a really nice experience with the River Water Cruise in Melaka. Even though the distance I took was short from the jetty to my hotel it was very enjoyable. Instead of the big cruise boat, I chose the water taxi, and I think it was the better option. The water taxi felt more private and comfortable since I could enjoy the ride with my family without being in a crowded boat. The best part is you can even arrange with the boat driver where you want to stop, and payment is simple with QR code. The night view along the river was beautiful, with colorful lights shining on the riverside and historic town buildings, making the whole trip very relaxing and memorable. Definitely a different way to enjoy Melaka!

It was very hot in melacca.. try getting an umbrella with you even if its cloudy in kualalumpur. Good scenic view. You can take boat as well but walking gives even better experience. Do remember the walk would be around 1.5 kms around the river one side...

Cruise was well decorated and comfy. Cuise's sound system was well furnished and describes the whole history wonderfully. Though the waiting time to get on the cruise was too much. In fact we missed our bus back to KL due to that long wait for hopping on the cruise.

Malacca river cruise is a must to try ! But do note that they only accept card and not cash so please prepare your travel card for payment. Best timing would be between 6-7pm as it is less warm. It depends on what you want to experience, if u prefer to see the night life of malacca then take the ferry between 7-8pm. If u prefer seeing the landmarks of malacca which are full of colours painted on their walls, then take the ferry in the morning.

The Cheng Ho Cultural Museum in Malacca is a must-visit for those interested in the Chinese history of the region. Housed in an old Chinese mansion, this museum chronicles the life and adventures of Admiral Cheng Ho, a noted Ming Dynasty explorer and fleet admiral. The exhibits feature a fascinating collection of photography, carvings, and artifacts that tell the story of Cheng Ho's discoveries and his role in opening up the region to Chinese immigrants.
Malacca is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Originally a Sultanate, it passed into the hands of the Portuguese, the Dutch, and then the British. The Chinese played a huge part in its history too when Admiral Cheng Ho and his fleet visited the Sultanate. The photos here show those of Cheng Ho Cultural Museum. There are a lot of “treasures” in the museum, while the maintenance appears not really sufficient. e.g. They showed the compass used at the time, and actually put a modern compass 😝

A disappointing stay due to poor room conditions, safety concerns, and unexpected renovation noise. Hotel Name: A'Famosa Resort Melaka Location: Melaka, Malaysia Date of Stay: October 2025 Length of Stay: 3 nights Purpose of Visit: Leisure with family (including small children) Overall Rating: ★ I recently had the opportunity to stay at A'Famosa Resort Melaka, and I would like to share my experience. The room fell short in terms of both comfort and safety. The bed was extremely firm. It was so hard to the point of disrupting sleep. More concerning was the condition of the wooden headboard, which was partially broken. Pieces of wood were protruding, posing a potential risk of splinters or injury. Additionally, the floor skirting and wooden flooring had several loose and uneven panels. In some areas, the wood was protruding, creating a tripping hazard. These maintenance issues are not only inconvenient but also present serious safety concerns that should be addressed immediately. Furthermore, the sofa in the room was in extremely poor condition. It appeared very old and worn, with sagging cushions and fabric that had clearly seen better days. The condition was so uncomfortable that sitting on the floor felt like a more suitable option. This piece of furniture is well past its usable lifespan and should be replaced. Our overall experience was negatively impacted by ongoing renovations during our stay. Construction work was taking place on the floor above, and the noise was disruptive throughout the day. At no point prior to or during check-in were we informed that renovations were taking place, which we found disappointing. Had we been made aware in advance, we might have reconsidered the booking or requested a different room placement. Transparency about such disturbances is essential for guest satisfaction. The safety hazards in the room, combined with the renovation disturbance and poor condition of furniture, made it unsuitable for a relaxing family stay, particularly with young children. At this time, I would not recommend this property.

I recently had an absolutely terrible stay at this property. Upon entering my room, there were invisible disturbances that made the room feel unsafe. I requested a room change, but the new room was no better; in fact, the situation worsened. I decided to check out immediately and requested a refund. Although the hotel acknowledged my problem, they ignored me afterward and no replyto my messages. When they finally responded, they demanded “proof” of the situation. I explained that when it happened, I was scared and had no way to record or provide proof, yet my refund request was still rejected. The staff were completely unresponsive, and the third-party booking service offered no assistance either. This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, and I would strongly advise against staying here.
Camen — Google review
The room is terrible with dim lights , slippery toilet floor and sticky living room floor. But the room receptionist has quick response , I called to ask about the room booking details and got an answer/respond immediately. Not recommended for family who has elders or babies as someone might fall down due to the slippery/sticky floor. Overall , it’s an old building that seems lack of maintenance.

Established in 1987 on 3.5 hectares of reserved forest land, the park houses approximately 100 species of crocodiles from around the world in habitats that closely resemble their natural environments.
The park is really fun! We got the tickets on Klook and it’s a lot cheaper than buying tickets there. We got to feed a lot of animals and see crocodiles feeding show! Recommend it!

Fun and relaxing place. Not too big, perfect for 1-2 hours visit. They have several slot for crocodile feeding during the day. There are also several spot for animal feeding. Rusa/deer are separated by fence, and another one where the goat, chickens and goose are let loose. They also have horses and cows. There are swimming pool which already included in the price ticket, however no shades and very hot in the day. Parking is easy as plenty spots available around the area.

Animals are well taken care. Plenty of animals to seetook about an hour to round the place. Got shows somemore and can win prizes. Come during afternoon so of course hot as hell. Can buy feeding packs for rm8, to little for the prices tho. Rabbit has saperate feed packs need to purchase cash only. Wasnt informed. Overall okay . Thumbs up to all the staff.

Ticket price at the counter is RM17 for adult but if you buy on Klook it’s RM13+. You can buy the animal feeds for RM10 at the counter too. Complimentary entry to mini water themepark but close on Monday for maintenance. We went here on a weekday so we got the place to ourselves. What i love is that we can feed most of the animals, my kid really enjoyed her time here feeding the animals. A lot of species of crocodiles, overall satisfied

Visit Melaka multiple times a year but didn't think of bringing the children here for an extraordinary experience till today. Driven by the cheap tickets (around rm60 for 2 adults and 2 children aged 5-12), we spent a good 2 hours here after having breakfast in the city centre as the check-in time is standard 3 pm. The kids enjoyed feeding the deers and rabbits while they were not interested in watching the dormant crocodiles. We spent the last hour soaking in the water under the hot sun. Not to forget to mention we still had to go to ticket booth to have our online tickets scanned. So not saving anytime at all. Before we left the area, kids requested to dine at the Mcd restaurant where we initially parked our car. As a patriotic guy I'm actually against letting those franchise giants doing business near to these tourist hotspots..

A Must-Visit Attraction in Melaka - Fun for the Whole Family! For just RM19 on weekends (or even RM16 on Traveloka), Taman Buaya Ayer Keroh offers an exciting and educational experience that's well worth the visit! The highlight is definitely the crocodile feeding show, which is thrilling and fascinating for all ages. But the adventure doesn't stop there! Kids will love the chance to interact with and feed a variety of friendly animals, including goats, chickens, birds, donkeys, and other small creatures. It’s a perfect blend of fun and learning! Don't forget to bring your bathing suit because the on-site swimming pool is a great way to cool down after exploring the park. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this spot is a fantastic day out for families and animal lovers alike. Highly recommended!

Melaka Bird Park is the first bird park in Malacca and houses the largest aviary in Malaysia. It serves as a conservation area for over 700 different bird species, both aerial and water birds. The park offers a spacious garden-like setting with elevated walkways, allowing visitors to interact with colorful birds without fence boundaries. It's a popular destination suitable for families, offering reasonably priced entrance fees and the opportunity to purchase seeds for bird and fish feeding.
This attraction is hidden from the main road. Entrance fees is reasonably cheap especially for large family groups: RM5 for adult and RM3 for kids. They do sell seeds for bird & fish feeding at RM5 per cup. Birds are friendly and a lot of covered area / trees.
Wan H — Google review
Its a small aviary. And not many birds. You can count the number of birds found here. What happened? Maybe many birds have died. But there were more than 10 peacocks running free in the park, which became the main attraction here. Rm 5 for entrance per adult, ok, reasonable . If they charge higher, nobody will come, it will not be worth it.
Md Y — Google review
This place looks like an abandoned building. Such a shame. This could be one of the amazing attraction of Melaka for the kids. There is no sign for the building to open soon. It has been bushed everywhere around there. The big signboard to bird park at the entrance should be removed. The relatable parties should put some contribution and effort to renew the bird park back. .

Next to bayou lagoon punya tempat. Kawasan agak sunyi dan bangunan nampak like abandoned haha sbb area lot kedai tu takde kedai lain, ada 3D museum ni je. Best bila dtg ramai ramai, agak meriah lah hehe. Price rate; Adult (RM22) Warga emas & children (RM18) *Warga emas 55thn ke atas **tapi if youre staying at bayou lagoon and then nk pergi museum ni, the price is different. Kurang sikit, maybe RM18 for adult. Nnti awal-awal masuk, sorang pekerja akan snap a few shots of you and your friends at a few places, so just ikut je. And after checking out from the place, he'll offer to print the photos taken earlier, in form of like gift cards and plaque with the lowest price of RM30/photo. So kalau nk simpan gambar utk kenangan, boleh posing elok elok masa awal awal tu hehe Feel free to take as much time photography-ing (make worth of your money spent) and be as creative as u can. Melaka Street Art (The Well) offers a glimpse into the town's unique culture and heritage through its murals displayed along the riverbank. While not as extensive as Penang's street art scene, Melaka showcases interesting pieces on the sides of buildings, providing a cool opportunity for Instagram-worthy photos. When the old town was painted by colors, it became more charming. Not like the new blank canvas with colorful artistic design, the trace of history behind the wall keep drawing travelers into this small town. Taman Bunga Merdeka, also known as the Independence Flower Garden, is a delightful escape for nature lovers and those seeking stunning views. Nestled in the heart of Melaka, this charming park offers a unique blend of greenery and history. With its panoramic vistas overlooking the Melaka Straits, it’s an ideal spot to catch breathtaking sunsets. The park serves as both a serene green space and an open-air museum, making it a fascinating destination for visitors.
I really liked this park, it was really shady, cooling and windy, a suitable place to rest and relax after a long walk from visiting the surrounding area. Strategically located in between Dataran Pahlawan Megamall and Menara Taming Sari, and just along Jalan Kota nearby A’Famosa. In the middle of the park is the St Francis Xavier commemorative stone.

On our visit, the park was closed, which was unfortunate. Malaysia's first train and the remaining vehicles were fun to admire. A total of +- 10 minutes is enough, nice to combine with a trip/walk to the Melaka Sultanate Palace (you have to buy a ticket for this) and the and Proclamation of Independence Memorial. (Free entry)
Luc D — Google review
Visited this park back in Feb before the MCO and lockdown. Taman Bunga Merdeka is an oddity of a park. It’s part park and part open museum. As a park, it’s a nice bit of green space in a city with a dearth of green space, and right in the of the historic, heritage part of the city too. While the park is not all that big, it’s large and pleasant enough for a wander or sit down as there are plenty of stone seats dotted along the paved paths. The open air museum contains several interesting exhibits such as a retired Twin Pioneer CC Mk 1 aircraft, a decommissioned locomotive named Sungai Lukut 21111, which also doubles up as a souvenir shop. It’s not the most exciting thing to do in Melaka, but if you have time in the city, it’s a nice place to relax. There are playground and some kind of simulated flying experience inside the plane. I’ve not seen any of these open, but it is not high season or the current worldwide reduced tourism.

One park that does exist in the city centre is along Jalan Kota, facing the People’s Museum and the strip of other museums in that street. It is known as Taman Bunga Merdeka but still remembered as Coronation Park, a name given to commemorate the accession of Queen Elizabeth II to the throne in June 1953.

Wonderpark Melaka is an indoor playground that offers unlimited playtime, making it a great option for families. The park is open daily from 10am to 9pm, except on Tuesdays. Admission prices are reasonable, and there are special family packages available that include food vouchers. The park features a cafe and even offers foot massages for the elderly. Visitors should remember to bring their own socks or be prepared to purchase them on-site.
A very big and fun filled indoor amusement playground for both adults and kids alike. All the arcades and play equipment are free with tokens requested from the front desk. There are three Karaoke rooms which you can sing your heart out. The microphones can be requested. There is a cafe inside that specialises in instant noodles. Food preparation even for ice creams however took quite sometime despite a lack of foot fall at the cafe. You can easily spend a good fun day inside. Oh yes there are foot massagers for weary adults too.

Sporean here 🇸🇬 and I love it! For the parents, there are massage seats to rest your legs while keeping an eye on the toddlers — super thoughtful! The place has 3 karaoke rooms, shooting stations, and a slides playground. It’s not a huge space, but definitely spacious enough for my little one to enjoy. 💙 Just one tiny suggestion: a quick wipe-down and clean-up at the end of each day would make the space feel even cleaner. Overall, love this place!

Awesome for family with young kids especially as there are kids climbing play area. Also, it's a 1 time payment for all day long. Just don't exit out until you have enough fun as no play time limit! There are a few arcade games as well including some board games. There are mini food area for you to fill your stomuch and also not forgetting a free locker to store your item. Worth the price! Staff Daniel clearly explained to us about what the venue is and the fun that we will be getting.

I would commend go there ONLY if you have nothing do left in Melaka especially when you are with family members. The staffs attitude are below average, the place is quiet clean, the little cart is fun as always 🔥👌🏻 The price is rm25 per pax, and they also provide locker. The only down side is some of the facilities are not maintained well but most of them are fine. I didnt tried the food and the ps5 because someone was using it. You should give it a try to the boxing machine and the 90's game machine was fun. Me and my gf had a lot of fun time there.

Jonker Walk Melaka, also known as Jonker Street or Jalan Hang Jebat, is the vibrant Chinatown area in Malacca City, Malaysia. The street is lined with historic 17th-century houses that now house shops selling antiques, textiles, local foods, handicrafts and souvenirs. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 6 p.m., it transforms into a bustling night market.
A beautiful n crowded place filled with heritage buildings and food stalls during the evening. It's a lovely walk during the evening to enjoy local n multiple cuisine across the stretch. Evenings are beautifully decorated with lighting. Lots of juice shops around the corner

Exploring Jonker Street Night Market was one of the most vibrant experiences of my trip to Melaka. The lively atmosphere, with colorful lights, endless food stalls, and unique shops, made every step along the street exciting. From local delicacies to quirky souvenirs, there was always something new to discover. Walking through the crowd felt like joining a big festival where culture, flavors, and fun come together. Truly a highlight of Malacca that I would love to experience again and again.

As a tourist, enjoying an evening walk here is totally fun. The Jonker Night Market is lively and vibrant — while some food stalls may feel repetitive, the overall blend of sights, smells, and atmosphere makes it worth a visit.

Jonker Street Review – Melaka I spent a few hours walking along Jonker Street, and it was a really good experience. You can truly feel the beautiful culture here. Similar to other Chinatowns, the street is filled with restaurants, cafés, and souvenir shops. It gets very crowded during peak hours, especially on weekends or school holidays, so plan your visit wisely. At night, the atmosphere is amazing with vibrant lighting along the shops and even by the river near Jonker Street, making it extra lively and picturesque. Jonker Street is also one of the most strategic places to explore from here, you can easily head over to Dataran Pahlawan and other historical landmarks in Melaka. Definitely worth a visit.

Nice place to walk about. At noon it is scorching hot, but there's loads of places to eat and have coffee to get away from the sun. At night, it's a busy night market with loads of vendors. I feel safe even though I was walking through crowds of people. I didn't see pickpockets or other petty crimes here.

Amazing experience! We planned to only play 1 room, but quickly signed up to play another one. Both rooms were super immersive. I highly recommend 'The Capsule' as that had the most creative puzzles and fun surprises (not scary). The staff had great energy. Overall, and amazing experience! 5⭐️

Overall it's an interesting experience. The story is interesting and the floor of the game was so good. The time given were great with full of nervousness. We have successfully cleared all the missions and even won a badge ! Thank you for the interesting experience.

It was great! Very fun, creative and engaging. The puzzles were unique and really had us thinking hard. I'm not going to spoil the fun, so here are my thoughts. The first escape room was so fun and had a lot of fantasy within it! If there wasn't a time limit, i wanted to stay there longer and do more challenges in the world, they're super creative! As for the next escape room was fun as well but WAY harder for us, but its story is a lot more interesting than the first one, and the challenges were harder to do because it was so dark, but i suppose the effect was better with it than without. As for customper service, the people were super nice and helpful. Overall, this experience was the best escape room experience I've had ever, i hope to come back and do it again. If you want to do it, bring friends of family mrmbers with you, it's more fun that way. 5 stars for sure!

Spectacular experience. The staff were friendly, warning signs are adequate. And they made sure it's a museum instead of a haunted house. Safe for older people and younger kids. Though when you're the only visitor there, it can get eerie. The haunted house prepared some costumes for trying out matching the vibe and photo session. There is even explanation of the ghosts and beings explained at the side with folklore and teachings. They mentioned they are expanding in the future. Will visit again once they expanded. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our experience as adults! Themed rooms can be abit creepy and dark. But be assured there’s no jump scares! Very informative if you really read the information board in each room, recommended to go if in Melaka, near Jonker walk area as well. Easily walkable. Tickets are very affordable and worth the price for the experience. Clothes are provided for themed photoshoots too in some of the rooms, but sadly they’re torn ☹️ but still worth going!

It was my first time visiting the Ghost Museum Melaka, even after countless trips to the city. I always assumed it was a haunted house with NPCs chasing you around, so I avoided it. But after seeing some great reviews on 小红书, I decided to give it a try — and I’m glad I did! The museum is a fun and engaging spot for all ages, making it a perfect stop for families. Jonker Walk’s vibrant night market runs only on weekends, featuring numerous food, beverage, souvenir, and clothing stalls. Shops and restaurants along the street, some with live music, add to the lively atmosphere, though it can get crowded. We opted for dinner at a restaurant in a nearby side alley, where plenty of options offer a quieter setting.

Recently, come across this stall held in 1 Utama CNY night-market. Attracted by their handmade cuteness cartoon characters...ended up brought their 5 cartoon character lotus buns for Rm$25 which I think very expensive. ( Just plain lotus bun with patterns ) They should make more tiger character bun since this year is tiger. Then I 'll buy more tiger buns instead of this lotus. ☹ Wanted to attract small children in CNY reunion dinner. 😅

Nice experience seeing huskies. You get to feed them, but it would be better to bring out lesser dogs , some kids might feel overwhelmed with so many dogs all at once. But still it’s a great experience. You can buy treats and feed them . They also take pictures and you can purchase the photos.

A Pawsitively Perfect Husky Haven! If you’re a husky lover (or just a dog enthusiast), The Huskitory in Melaka is an absolute must-visit. From the moment we stepped in, we were blown away by how spotless the space was— clean and well-maintained interaction area. The huskies themselves are stars here. Each one is happy, well-groomed, and surprisingly calm—even during playtime! They’re clearly well-socialized. What truly sets The Huskitory apart is its team. The staff are not only friendly but knowledgeable about every husky’s personality and history. They took time to share stories about each dog, answered all our questions, and even gave tips on interacting with them safely. If you’re looking for a heartwarming, stress-free experience with some of the most beautiful huskies around, The Huskitory is worth every minute. The dogs were also so well behaved and friendly. Food can be purchased at 3 packs for Rm5 or 1 pack at Rm2. Phototaking services also available from Rm35 to Rm55.
SH — Google review
At first, the experience seemed nice, but it quickly felt very orchestrated. The music was far too loud, and we just wanted a relaxed time with the dogs. Unfortunately, the dogs were made to “perform” constantly for photos instead of being allowed to rest naturally. We were also repeatedly asked to buy treats, and even after saying no, they still brought out puppies. One older puppy (just a few months old) was given to me, and a brand-new baby was placed with my sister. When the attendant told us to “move closer” several times for a photo, the older pup suddenly bit the baby’s ear, taking the tip off. It was an awful moment, and we left soon after, hoping both pups were okay. One of the dogs also had its toenails cut extremely short, which looked painful. It’s also worth noting this isn’t actually a café — there’s no coffee or food served. We were given cold water (which was appreciated) and the air conditioning was good. The majority of the dogs were lovely and well-behaved, but overall the experience felt more about photo ops than genuine animal care or guest comfort.

I’m a new visitor to St Peter’s Church and attended Sunday Mass today. Overall, the church is very beautiful and the architecture is truly amazing, which made me want to take some photos inside about 45 minutes before Mass started. However, I was told off quite abruptly by one of the wardens for doing so. Personally, I wish he had approached me more politely or privately instead of scolding me in front of other people, as it made me feel quite embarrassed. It would be helpful if the church could display clear rules at the entrance for newcomers, such as: • No photography allowed inside the church, even before Mass starts. • No using your phone for scrolling or other apps inside the church; only Bible apps are allowed. • Dress modestly and keep silent at all times inside the church. I’m sharing this review to help both the church community and other newcomers who plan to attend Holy Sunday Mass here. Despite the incident, I wish everyone God’s blessings.

Attended sunset Mass at 6pm. This church is quite strict, ladies cannot wear short skirts. Cannot take photos during and before mass. Photos cannot be taken in front of the alter. Receiving the eucharistic is also so strict that you have to stand at the exact spot where the communion minister direct you to stand... Cannot an inch short too.... Must stand exactly where you are pointed in order to received the eucharistic.... Besides that, its a beautiful awesome House of God. Thank you.

An old but well maintained church. It is just beside the Bayview Hotel which I was staying over the weekend. It is also within walking distance from The Pines, Courtyard and a few other hotels and restaurants. There is a beautiful garden in the church compound which provides beautiful photos. Very serene and peaceful. The only slight issue is the overzealous church wardens who were can make you feel unwelcome.

The Malacca Submarine Museum is home to the Ouessant, a genuine submarine that served in both the French Navy and Royal Malaysian Navy. This retired vessel has been transformed into a museum, allowing visitors to explore its interior, including narrow corridors and authentic control rooms. The museum offers a rare opportunity to experience firsthand how the crew lived and worked within the confined spaces of the submarine. From sleeping quarters to missile areas, visitors can gain insight into life aboard this historic watercraft.
Definitely one of the more interesting place to visit in Melaca whether you are a submarine fan or not. After crawling through the insides of this ‘modern’ ala 1970s submarine, you will have a very healthy respect for these submariners. They should do more to promote this place. Tip. 50% discount for seniors
HC S — Google review
This place is simple with one submarine and 2 jets only. However, it is eye-opening to visit the inside of the submarine. This place is well maintained. It will be nice if they upgrade this place with more attractions or war-related vessels.
Larry L — Google review
Entrance fee RM10 for adult, RM5 for kid and senior citizen. Foreigner price double. Feel that the service can be improved a bit with this price as it is just a very small “museum” putting only 2 Jurassic fighter jets and 1 small submarine. Crowd control and toilet can be improved. The submarine is very small that it’s better not to allow more than 10 or certain people entering at once. Suggest they allow visitors to enter as batch and let other visitor do some other things while they wait to enter. It’s definitely better than keeping everyone on long queue waiting for someone to take photos. Also the car park is limited.
Siauhwa T — Google review
don't expect too much when visiting this submarine museum! There’s one submarine and two fighter jets You can only enter to the submarine and have a tour that will be done in 10 minutes even less. It’s an opportunity to see the submarine from inside but don’t worth the cost 20RM for 5-10 minutes.
Molka G — Google review
The museum was clean, well-maintained, and had a calm atmosphere that made it easy to explore. The exhibits that were available were interesting and nicely presented, but the space did feel a bit empty, with fewer displays than expected. Still, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall experience was pleasant. Worth a visit if you enjoy a quieter, more relaxed museum experience
Min C — Google review
The Malacca Submarine Museum, or Muzium Kapal Selam, in Klebang, Malacca, is a unique attraction that offers visitors a rare opportunity to step inside a real submarine. Housed within the decommissioned French-made Quessant (S623), an Agosta 70-class submarine once used for training by the Royal Malaysian Navy, the museum provides an immersive experience into naval history and life underwater. The submarine’s interior has been preserved for exploration, with access to its cramped control room, torpedo bays, and crew quarters. This rare glimpse into the life of submariners is both educational and thrilling, making it a popular spot for families, school trips, and history enthusiasts. The museum is well-maintained, with clear pathways and informative displays that guide visitors through the submarine's various sections. Its affordable entrance fees—RM10 for Malaysian adults and RM20 for foreign adults, with discounts for children—make it an accessible destination for all. The museum's location, just a short drive from Malacca's city center, adds to its convenience, allowing it to be easily included in any sightseeing itinerary. However, given the submarine’s confined spaces, it may not be ideal for visitors who are claustrophobic. Those planning to visit on weekends should also expect larger crowds. Still, for anyone curious about maritime history or simply seeking a unique experience, the Malacca Submarine Museum is a must-visit destination.
Love J — Google review
Good experience (must not be claustrophobic), a decommissioned submarine and two fighter jets. Not manu explanatory notes, but an airconditioned submarine exhibit makes the visit pleasant. Last admitted visitors 1/2hr before closing time.

Nestled in the heart of Malacca, the Proclamation of Independence Memorial is a captivating tribute to Malaysia's journey towards independence. Housed in a stunning Dutch colonial mansion built in 1912, this historical site features two striking golden onion domes that enhance its elegant white façade. Officially inaugurated by Tunku Abdul Rahman on August 31, 1985—38 years post-independence—the memorial serves as a treasure trove of artifacts and exhibits chronicling the nation's past.
If you are looking for the place where you can get the information about the journey of Malaysia from the era of Malay Sultanate till independence to modern day, this is the suitable place to visit. The archictecture of colonial era of this building has made this building was great to visit. Visitors may take pictures or videos with this building as a background.

A beautifully preserved colonial building that houses Malaysia’s journey to independence. The exhibits are well-organized, with rare artifacts like Tunku Abdul Rahman’s pen, the original proclamation text, and even the Merdeka limousine. It's free to enter, air-conditioned, and right in the heart of Melaka’s historic district. Some displays could use better lighting, but overall, it’s a meaningful and enriching stop. Great to pair with nearby sites like A Famosa and St. Paul’s Hill. Allow about an hour for the visit.

A Deep Dive into Malaysia’s Journey to Independence The Proclamation of Independence Memorial in Melaka is a hidden gem for anyone interested in Malaysia’s history. Housed in a beautiful colonial-era building, this museum offers a comprehensive look at Malaysia’s path to independence. The exhibits feature photos, artifacts, and documents that tell the story of the struggles and triumphs leading up to independence in 1957. The memorial is well-organized, and the displays are informative and engaging. It’s a quiet, reflective space where you can take your time to absorb the rich history. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the experience. Located near other historical sites like A Famosa and St. Paul’s Hill, it’s easy to include in a Melaka itinerary. If you’re keen on understanding Malaysia’s national identity and the sacrifices made for independence, this memorial is well worth a visit!

A free entrance gallery just needs to register your name & fill up some details on a book at the front office counter. Very informative place. Suitable to bring students to learn about independence history. Recommended place to visit.

A place where you find a lot about malaysian independence day ‘Hari Merdeka’ . You will feel cold during the entrance only but inside near the display quite hot.
Lu'ai W — Google review
Without much air-conditioning this place was quite stuffy. It may worth to have a look since it's at the centre of tourist area filling with other attractions and is telling the story about the independence of Malaysia. I feel the exhibits can be more well-organizied. I would have felt difficult if wandering here alone but it's better to have a guide to explain the story with you, making your visit valuable and interesting.

The Muzium Sejarah dan Etnografi is a museum with exhibits on Malaysian history and ethnography from the beginning of settlement in the 1400s to independence in 1957. The ethnography wing also has information on cultural divisions found throughout historic Malacca, including Malays, Chinese, Indians and Baba Nyonya women.
The most extensive museum in Malacca and in the whole state, telling their long and exciting story in full details, from prehistoric times through town foundation, rajas' rule, Portuguese, Dutch, British colonization, Japanese occupation and status within independent Malaya/Malaysia. A lot of original artifacts accompanied by hundreds of good paintings and other colorful and informative exhibits.
V K — Google review
The museum is located at Stadhuys and in front of it's, an area known as Red Square. The museum is informative as it exhibits items, clothes, weapons, armors, culture, miniature buildings, maps and etc or the historical timeline of Melaka. It starts from the origin of Melaka, to the Portuguese era then to the Dutch era, finally to the Japanese era before independence. The layout is a bit confusing but history lovers will find this place overwhelmed by information. Parking is available but need to pay.
Shaik N — Google review
Visited on a regular weekday afternoon, which was not crowded at all. Many sections that describe Malacca’s history, educational for both children and adults. Entrance fee is fair for residents (RM5/child, RM10/adult). If the time to explore slowly, can spend 2 hours here.
Ms C — Google review
A really comprehensive museum on the various cultural groups and their history in the region. We visited on a Friday. It was fairly quiet but unfortunately we were not informed that they would close at 12pm (possibly for prayer or lunch) and we did not get time to explore the ethnography section. Nonetheless we still had a good 1.5 hours to explore the rest of the museum. I particularly liked that it included a section on the Chinese explorer Cheng Ho, as I did not have time to visit the Cheng Ho Museum in Malacca. There was also a great vantage point looking down onto the (Dutch) Red Square in Malacca.
Vivian L — Google review
The History, Ethnography, and Literature Museum is located inside the Stadthuys building. The Stadthuys was the city hall during Dutch colonial government era at Malacca. Entrance fee to the museum is charged at RM 20.00 per adult and RM 10.00 for kids (7-12 years old) and senior citizens. Meanwhile, disabled persons and kids who are 6 years and below may enter for free. Malaysia citizens get 50% discount from the above rates.
Edwin P — Google review
The Stadthuys, located in the heart of Malacca’s Dutch Square, is one of the most iconic remnants of the city’s colonial past. Built in 1650 by the Dutch, this striking red building originally served as the official residence of the Dutch governors and administrative offices. Today, it has been carefully adapted to house the History and Ethnography Museum, offering visitors a unique window into Malacca’s layered past—from the era of Malay sultanates to Portuguese, Dutch, and British rule. As we stepped through its heavy wooden doors and into the cool interior, we were immediately transported through time. The museum’s exhibits trace the cultural and historical evolution of the region, featuring artifacts, traditional costumes, trade relics, and intricate dioramas. Each room unveils a different facet of Malacca’s rich heritage, revealing how diverse communities—Malay, Chinese, Indian, Baba Nyonya, and others—contributed to the city's distinct identity. It was both educational and deeply atmospheric, with the creaking floorboards and arched windows reminding us that we were standing inside history itself. We spent hours exploring the museum and capturing its present-day condition through our lenses. From wide shots of the grand façade to intimate close-ups of display cases, our photographs document both the structure's enduring charm and the thoughtful curation within. For us, this visit was more than a tour—it was an opportunity to witness how a colonial relic has been respectfully transformed into a cultural archive that continues to speak to locals and travelers alike.

Nestled in the heart of Malacca, Masjid Kampung Hulu stands as a testament to the rich cultural tapestry of Malaysia. Completed in 1728 during the Dutch colonial era, this mosque is not only one of the oldest in the country but also showcases a unique blend of architectural styles influenced by various regions. Built by Dato' Shamsuddin, a Chinese Muslim financier, its design reflects an intriguing fusion that sets it apart from other mosques.
Such a peaceful and historically rich visit to Masjid Kampung Hulu! 🌟 This mosque is a true gem, with its beautiful traditional Malay architecture and serene surroundings. It’s one of the oldest mosques in Melaka, and the history it holds is truly fascinating. The peaceful ambiance and the welcoming community made my visit even more special. The intricate woodwork and beautiful carvings add to its charm, making it a must-visit for anyone who appreciates history, culture, and architecture. A wonderful spot for both prayer and a bit of historical exploration. Highly recommend! ✨"

Masjid Kampung Hulu in Melaka is one of the oldest mosques in Malaysia and located just off Jonker Street, making it an easy stop if you’re exploring the heritage area and if you intend to visit Malaiqa by Gula Cakery. The architecture is a beautiful blend of Malay, Chinese, and Javanese elements with a pagoda-style minaret and tiered roof that give it a unique charm. Inside, the atmosphere is calm and peaceful, perfect for quiet reflection. The mosque is small but filled with historical character, and there’s even a cemetery nearby with notable Islamic figures buried there. Another neat thing is that the mosque shares its entrance with the Cara Hulu Hotel, making access easy if you’re staying nearby or checking in. Just head through the same complex no detours needed. For muslimah, the prayer section is semi open air, which can get a little stuffy and warm even at night. However, the mosque provides clean and pleasantly scented telekung for use, which is a thoughtful touch. Parking can be a bit tricky, especially during peak times, but it’s definitely a spiritual and cultural landmark worth stopping by when in Melaka.

Masjid Kampung Hulu, Melaka – A Spiritual Gem with Rich History Masjid Kg Hulu is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Melaka. As the oldest mosque in Malaysia still in use, it stands as a symbol of our Islamic heritage and architectural beauty. The mosque is peaceful, clean, and well-maintained — a perfect place for prayer and reflection. The unique blend of local and Chinese architecture makes it not only a place of worship but also a historical landmark that attracts visitors from all over. The atmosphere is serene, and the community there is welcoming and respectful. A big appreciation to the mosque committee for keeping this historical mosque alive and beautiful. May Allah bless all their efforts.

Masjid Kampung Hulu is a very interesting and beautiful mosque with unique architecture. I loved how it combines Malay, Javanese, and Chinese design elements—it’s unlike any other mosque I’ve seen. The tiered roof and old minaret are especially striking. It’s a great place to learn about Melaka’s diverse history. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city.

The House of Museums Melaka is situated near the Malacca River and a short walk from Jonker Walk. It houses a remarkable collection of antiques that evoke nostalgia, particularly for those born in the 1950s to 1970s. The museum showcases various facets of Malacca's local industries, such as pharmacy, cinema, hair salons, and more. Visitors can immerse themselves in live history through the well-preserved exhibits.
This place is a must if you are in Malakka. With a very happy and helpful guide, you will really enjoy looking around at the different artifacts from around the 1950s. Very reasonable prices and a very enjoyable experience overall. Mr. T was very passionate about what he knew and shared many fascinating stories about the importance of Malakka.

Very nice museums with a friendly Chinese museum director to explain the history of Malacca in detail. The small museum shows different faces of Malacca's local industries, including pharmacy, cinema, hair saloon, plastic manufacturer as well as some old houses. Every piece of the exhibition is just "Live History" from the good old days. Even Malacca share part of same history with Hong Kong and Guangzhou, but you can rarely find such thing there. It's really worth to pay a visit especially if you are from these areas.

This place is awesome! You could probably see all of the historically accurate displays in about a half hour and it would be completely worth the entry fee. They are fascinating and it feels just like stepping back in time. However, if you have extra time, I highly recommend talking with the museum curator, Mr. Tih. He is *extremely* passionate about his museum and is more than willing to talk about it. He has so many interesting stories and it's basically guaranteed that you'll have a wonderful conversation. My wife and I ended up spending more than 2 hours here since we had such a great time talking with Mr. Tih. We stayed in Malacca for multiple weeks and this was BY FAR the best place that we found. Thanks Mr. Tih! Eric and Katie

This is an interesting museum at the old town district of Malacca. This is a free museum which visitors just need to register the identity. At this museum, there are numerous exhibitions from the history of Royal Malaysian Customs, the items which were confiscated throughout the days, daily operational vehicles and equipments. Information about the exhibited items are clearly stated in English and Bahasa Malaysia. There are some photo spots available here. To access the museum, it is within walking distance from major attractions around Jonker Street and Malacca River.

No tickets are required, just need to register, and professional customs officials will provide services. A very interesting museum, which shows the development process of the Malaysian Customs, the ships, vehicles, police weapons, etc. used, as well as many smuggling contraband that have been investigated and punished, while providing a cool space.

Totally unexpectedly extensive and very interesting, knowledgeable display of Malaysian customs' history and modern days operations, along with various examples of contraband confiscated by it.

We spontaneously visited this museum and were pleasantly surprised to hear there's no entrance fee. With that in mind, we also didn't expect the museum to be fairly big and well displayed. It offers a mix of the history and former tools of the custom department. And it shows confiscated items such as helmets, weapons, religious clothing and more. Although it doesn't always explains why an item is confiscated (like the motor helmets), it's very interesting. It gives you an cultural insight as so many items won't be confiscated in an European country for example. And it makes you realise that in the end, all customs from all over the world, are working with the same goal. We enjoyed our visit. Even our kids did, although there are no children's activities. They saved their questions till the end to have them answered by the friendly staff.
Wicked S — Google review
Pretty cool museum, large and free for all including foreigners. The first part tells the history of Malaysian customs from the British era until 2000s. The rest of the museum is items seized by customs, which is pretty interesting actually - everything from an NYPD electric scooter to clothing and plates inscribed with Koranic verses (apparently forbidden) to playboy magazines and erotic statues.
