Jonker Street Night Market is the vibrant heart of Melaka, offering a bustling open-air market on weekend nights. The street is lined with fascinating shops and restaurants serving delectable local cuisine. Visitors can explore the Orang Utan House gallery for contemporary art and browse through the Malaqa House Museum shop for exotic collectibles, sculptures, and souvenirs.
Had a fun evening at Jonker Street Night Market. The place was packed with food stalls, souvenir vendors, and lots of energy. Tried the grilled squid – freshly made and really delicious! It gets super crowded after 7 pm, so best to come early. A bit hot and packed, but definitely worth the visit for the food and lively atmosphere. A must-see when in Melaka!

The historical city of Melaka offers a captivating glimpse into the past. Its stunning heritage sites are a testament to its rich and diverse cultural influences. Exploring the city's architecture and landmarks is an enriching experience for any visitor. Moreover, the vibrant nightlife scene provides a lively contrast to the daytime exploration. You are sure to create lasting memories in this beautiful place.
Nolan B — Google review
Jonker Street Market is definitely one of the liveliest places in Melaka. The atmosphere is colorful and energetic, with plenty of street food, souvenirs, and local crafts. It’s a great place to explore the culture and enjoy some snacks like chicken rice balls, coconut shakes, and satay. However, the market gets *extremely crowded*, especially on weekends, making it hard to move around or enjoy the stalls comfortably. Prices can also be a bit inflated due to the tourist crowd, and many items feel repetitive from one stall to the next. It’s worth visiting for the experience, but go early or on a weekday if you want to avoid the rush. A good spot for foodies and street photographers, but not the best for relaxed shopping.
Lyston F — Google review
Jonker Street (Jalan Hang Jebat, Melaka) Located in the heart of Melaka’s Chinatown, Malaysia Jonker Street, officially known as Jalan Hang Jebat, is the vibrant soul of Melaka’s Chinatown — a lively stretch famous for its night market, heritage shophouses, antique stores, cafés, and street food. Once home to wealthy Peranakan (Straits Chinese) families, the street’s architecture reflects centuries of cultural fusion — Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese, and British influences all intertwined in ornate façades and wooden shutters. By day, Jonker Street is a charming lane of antique dealers, art galleries, craft shops, and traditional bakeries, selling everything from vintage cameras and porcelain to pineapple tarts and handmade jewelry. When night falls, the entire street transforms into one of Malaysia’s most beloved night markets — buzzing with food stalls, music, and lights. Visitors can savour local favourites like chicken rice balls, cendol, Nyonya laksa, satay celup, and fried radish cake, while browsing through rows of souvenirs and handmade crafts. The air is filled with laughter, the aroma of grilled skewers, and the rhythm of buskers performing under lanterns. Beyond its food and fun, Jonker Street is also a living museum — a place where heritage, commerce, and community coexist. Nearby attractions include Cheng Hoon Teng Temple (Malaysia’s oldest Chinese temple), Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum, and Kampung Kling Mosque, all within walking distance. Today, Jonker Street remains the beating heart of Melaka’s old town — a symbol of multicultural Malaysia and a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience its historic charm, creative energy, and timeless street life.
Meng C — Google review
Jonker Street, officially known as Jalan Hang Jebat, sits at the heart of Malacca’s historic Chinatown a lively blend of heritage, culture, and chaos in the best possible way. By day, its narrow lanes reveal rows of centuries-old shophouses, once home to Peranakan merchants, now transformed into cafés, antique stores, and quirky boutiques. By night, Jonker Street transforms into a vibrant night market where the air fills with the scent of grilled satay, chicken rice balls, and the sweet smoke of coconut pancakes.
Ramesh N — Google review
Very lively place with many options to eat and shop. The best thing I loved is the fact that everything is fixed priced so no fear of being cheated. Highly recommended place..
Nelson D — Google review
Jonker Night Market was honestly the best night ever! I felt like I walked forever through the busy streets, but it was so much fun with all the lights, food, and shops around. I went on a road trip with my best friend, driving all the way from KL and staying two nights — such a memorable experience. Till this day, I still dream of coming back. I absolutely love it and would go again in a heartbeat!
Rinda H — Google review
Jonker Street Night Market is one of those must-visit places in Malacca that truly comes alive at night. It’s vibrant, buzzing with energy, and beautifully lit with lanterns and colorful lights that give the entire street a festive charm. Whether you're a tourist or a local, there's always something exciting to see, try, or buy here. Yes, it’s definitely packed and crowded, especially on weekends, but surprisingly, it still feels safe and lively rather than overwhelming. The atmosphere is energetic but not chaotic, with friendly vendors and a nice mix of people from all walks of life. There’s so much to explore; from street food and handmade crafts to quirky souvenirs, clothes, accessories, and even traditional snacks you won’t find in many other places. You'll also come across live performances, from singers and buskers to cultural dance groups, which makes walking down the street feel like a full-on experience. The street food is a major highlight; expect to see and smell everything from grilled satay, Taiwanese sausages, laksa, coconut ice cream, freshly made dim sum, and even the famous Jonker Street quail egg snacks. You’ll want to come with an empty stomach because the choices are endless. The market also has its fair share of unique and novelty items, including handmade jewelry, old-school toys, antiques, and personalized crafts. It’s the perfect place to pick up a souvenir that’s not mass-produced. Although the crowds can get intense, especially around peak hours, it’s very much part of the experience. Just take your time, soak in the lights, music, smells, and cheerful vibes. Wear comfy shoes, bring some cash, and enjoy the rich culture and local charm Jonker Street has to offer. Would definitely recommend making it a stop on your Malacca trip, it’s not just a market, it’s an experience!

Satay restaurant
Restaurant
Sun May Hiong Satay House is a popular satay restaurant located in Kota Laksamana, Melaka. It's conveniently situated near the bustling shopping districts, making it easily accessible for tourists. The restaurant has been serving traditional-style satays for many years and is known for its perfectly balanced sweet and sour sauce that complements the lightly smoked flavor of the satay. The place tends to get crowded due to its popularity among both locals and tourists, so arriving early is recommended.
The pork liver is a must-try item on the menu. It's nicely grilled with a savory flavour that keeps me coming back — I've revisited many times just for this. It's best enjoyed when dining in, as the taste and texture are much better when it's freshly served. The sauce is served hot and refillable, and occasionally, you’ll even find pieces of pineapple in it, which adds a nice touch. I’ve tried both dining in and taking it away, and the difference in satisfaction is clear — dining in is definitely the better option.
Pistachio — Google review
You’d never expect to be in any other Satay house like this, where their main products only offer pork satay and intestine satay. Save my time from the 3269 fancy words to describe their juiciness, the flavor, the crisp of the burnt.. simply the best satay in my life, been visiting here since my childhood time, even before Google Map was created.
Man H — Google review
Satay itself mild in marinates. Satay sauce type, fruity thrist quenching type + non existent spicy although added chilli/red oil. Mild for me. Personal preference as I like my food taste heavy if you know what I mean.
Daren L — Google review
Satay is tender and the generous portion of peanut sauce is made with fresh pineapple. You can try the homemade barley too, it's not sweet. Lady boss is nice :) Minimum order of 10 sticks of satay.
Lishan L — Google review
Tried Sun May Hiong satay and found that it’s quite different from the usual sweet Malay satay I’m used to. The flavour leans more on the salty side, which wasn’t to my liking. Personally not a fan of this style, so I wouldn’t come back again.
Katong P — Google review
My visit was during off peak season, on a Friday afternoon. Pork satay was savoury and the meat texture can be tenderise. Liver stick was good, tender and savoury. The gravy is not sweat, just nice.
Wilson W — Google review
The pork satay is tender, pork intestine is chewy and tastes good as well. The satay sauce is different with the usual satay sauce we get at other stalls in Malaysia, it’s cook with pineapple (correct me if I’m wrong), it has the pineapple aroma, and taste slightly sour than usual satay sauce with strong peanuts. Definitely will come back if happens to visit Melaka again.
Michelle T — Google review
In its 4th generation, Sun May Hiong is probably the oldest and well-known Hainanese satay operator in Melaka. As a matter of fact, a dear Malaccan friend introduced it to me a few years back but I ended up at Beh Leh instead. This time, I suggested lunch here after we arrived in Melaka and checked into our Balinese themed bungalow. What we didn't expect was the strong lunch crowd when we arrived. A big group like us meant that we had to be patient to secure a long table enough to fit everyone. It didn't help but the hot weather made everyone felt uncomfortable. Note: Only 4 types of satay - chicken, pork, pork intestine & pork liver. ◾Satay cost RM13x.00 per 10 sticks, making it RM1.30 per stick. ◾Nasi Impit (Rice) at RM1.80 per plate ◾Cucumber/Onion at RM1.20 per late ◾Fresh coconut at RM7 to cool down the heaty satay as well as the hot weather. Leo's verdict - 1) for RM1.30, the size of the satay wasn't exactly big and therefore we ordered quite a lot to feed 16 of us. I prefer the pork satay and intestine as it has more bites to it. 2) One thing for sure, all the meat (and spare parts) were well-marinated and grilled to a nice char and doneness. 3) the peanut sauce had generous amount of pineapple puree, giving it an appetizing tangy taste. For me, I prefer Beh Leh Hainam Satay for its overall ambience (comfortable dining is very important to me), equally well-made satay and more peanuty sauce (lesser pineapple puree but enough to give it depth).

This famous Malacca popiah stall sells some of the most delicious and sinful popsicles in the region, made with pork lard as their special ingredient. They're strict about no photos, so make sure you stop by if you're in town!
This must be the best popiah I ever had. Love the chunky turnips, and thr wrap didn't get soggy. Fun chef making the popiah was very friendly. Was lucky to visit during weekday, no queue. Will be back!
Freddy K — Google review
Very good popiah, one of the best I ever had. Pork lard very nice, put a lot. Almost every bite has some pork lard. For me, not enough chili but that is personal preference. Also very reasonably priced.
D — Google review
The Popiah (spring roll) is fabulously delicious. On first bite, the taste of pork lard infused ingredients fills your mouth with taste that your taste bud asking for more. The skin is soft and tender, biting into it together with the fillings, is just another different but even more wonderful taste than other popiah i have tasted. Can say another level, you cant get this in Singapore. There is no dining in. Its a snack to go, eating on the spot while its hot is the best or you can bring home to enjoy it, still delicious I reckon. On weekends, likely there will be a queue. It really depend on your luck, can be super long queue or no queue at all. I came on a Thursday afternoon, so lucky, no queue at all. Park, buy, eat and go. If you drive, its really try your luck looking for lots. The stall is located at a cross road junction, so only parallel parking. If cant find a parking lot, get your passenger to go buy it while you stop on road side with hazard lights on. If you come Malacca, can give this a try, there is another stall selling popiah and you can try both to see which is to your liking.
Gary C — Google review
Great popiah with superb service as well. Even with such a long queue, store owners were so friendly and accommodating. The addition of pork lard in the popiah was heavenly and completely ingenious. It was crispy and fragrant, elevating the flavour to a whoe new level. The popiah skin was also really thin, would buy that back if possible. Do try to come early and avoid peak hours, especially on weekends. We arrived at about 1pm and had to wait about 30 minutes for our food. Note that there is a max of 11 rolls per customer during peak hours.
GG K — Google review
Quite good of a popiah, the fillings were amazing, from the sengkuang to the pork lard. I came on a Thursday, only 3 people in front of me, so I got my popiah fast. However i felt the skin to be a bit thicker than to my liking and the skin is very bland.
Andrew ( — Google review
The most overrated popia in the world. Yes there r pork lard but only a couple. Hardly taste them. Too sweet and too soggy. The queue is long becos the guy is so slow and inefficient. He should go see the servers at crispy popia. Learn a thing or two. Now that they move in a proper shop hygiene wise shd be better Tried d new menu fishball is ok. Crispy tofu skin not crispy enough. Served cold. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH QUEUING IN THE HOT SUN!!!
Travel F — Google review
Queued for 35 mins to get 2 Popiah. Portion is larger than normal & packed with turnips & crispy pork lard. Taste is pretty subjective & I find it a little too sweet for my liking. It’s a take away counter with no seats. Hope they can speed up their process to cut down waiting time.

I order 10 spicy, 5 non spicy, 6 handmade fishball back to sg.. 🩷🩷🩷 1 more to be eaten there.. hahaa. So total of 16 popiah n 6 handmade fishball. Coffee shop
Heng Huat Coffee Shop, a modest cafe in Melaka, has been serving food since 1955 and is known for its unchanged menu. Tucked away from the tourist crowds near Jonker Walk, this family-run kopitiam offers rock-bottom prices for Hainanese dishes and refreshing iced drinks. The shop is popular for its wan tan pork noodles and dumpling soup at affordable prices. While the service may not be spectacular, the cleanliness is well-maintained.
Love the roti bakar and wan tan mee here!
Chun Y — Google review
Had wan tan mee & cham. Very reasonable price. Wan tan mee was old school flavour and cham was nice. Low profile coffee shop at jonker street but definitely will come back again
Lai L — Google review
Very good traditional wanton mee- old school flavor. The toast and coffee are acceptable. Local pricing as the coffee shop front age is nondescript and doesn't attract the tourists.
Kim N — Google review
Recently found out this place. The wantan noodle isn’t bad, worth trying. Half boiled egg is done perfectly good. Location is convenient just next to the stage at jonker street.

Delicious food, especially the noodles 😋 The elderly chef works carefully, so ordering requires patience ,but it's absolutely worth the wait~
Zephyr — Google review
Actually we wanted to eat the restaurant opposite, Ah Ma Ho Liao, but the restaurant was tore down for renovation. This coffee shop is right opposite, they serve traditional breakfast set and wanton mee. A normal breakfast set, with a garlic bread and Kaya butter toast, with a beverage is about RM 14.50. The tea not as fantastic, the garlic bread like missing something. But can feel a lot of effort put into preparing the food. Wanton mee was okay, but would love it if the noodles is abit more bouncy.
Eileen ( — Google review
This is a place where the local and tourist patron for breakfast and coffee. The authentic local flavour Wan Tan Mee reminded me of my childhood. I ordered a small portion at RM6 each. The coffee is good. There is a stall selling local nyonya kuih and nasi lemak in the front. You can top it up if the Wan Tan Mee is not enough. I saw other people ordered toasted bread and half boiled eggs etc. The service is good, and the cleanliness is good as well. You have a choice to sit inside the shop or the outdoor space overlooking Jonker street and the side road.

Jonker 88 is a renowned dining spot in Melaka, situated on the lively Jonker Street. It's celebrated for serving traditional Peranakan delicacies such as Nyonya Laksa and Baba Laksa, along with an assortment of cendol, including the popular durian cendol. This eatery is a favorite among locals and tourists alike who seek authentic local cuisine in a bustling historical setting.
Stopped by for a bowl of cendol after a hot day walking around jonker. Managed to snag seats right at the storefront with fans blasting on our backs. Order at the counter, ~RM7 per bowl. Each bowl that came out looked consistent. Nice cendol!
Dq — Google review
I had to deliberate a fair bit before deciding on a rating here as I had two completely different opinions on the two food items I tried here: Nyonya Asam Laksa and Baba Cendol. The Nyonya Asam Laksa was great, it was really tasty and the sourness was just nice. The standard still remained equally good compared to ten over years back when I first tried it. However, the Cendol was a huge disappointment. It had no fragrance from the coconut milk or gula melaka at all. The standard of this was a far cry from that of the past. Seats are limited so expect to queue during peak hours. Ordering and collection is done via self service. Prices are honestly quite steep for the portion and ambience here. Overall, I wouldn't make the effort to queue but I may still return for their asam laksa if there is no wait.
GG K — Google review
Taste: 3/5 (Overall rating, Chendol + Laksa) - 5/5 for Chendol itself Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Affordability: 5/5 Would I come back: Yes! It a self-service ordering system. Queue for seats and go to the counter to order & pickup your food. Probably the best Chendol I tried at Jonker Street. I tried a few places nearby(iykyk). Their gula melaka is so rich and thick and their green worms had a bite to it! The coconut milk was decent as well! Would come back and eat this again and try their Assam Laksa. I am not a fan of Laksa, to me their Laksa was too spicy, no lemak taste at all. And they did not use the thick beehoon but used thin beehoon itself, which I feel, does not go well with the Laksa. But their fried toppings were crispy and hot!
Reina T — Google review
This is one famous shop in Jonkers. No matter what time you visit, there will always be a queue. They’re know for Laksa and their Ais Kachang. Since the queue was long that day, the staff asked whether we came for Laksa or Ais. Once we said Ais, we were immediately told to go inside as we were allowed to sit on the bench. If you opted for Laksa, you will get seated at a table. Chose to get the Ais Kachang Mangga to beat the heat that day. The dish consists of shaved ice, red bean, coconut jelly, corn, some syrup, and sliced mango. It was so refreshing!! The portion was also quite hefty & can easily be shared between 2 people.
Maharani — Google review
The restaurant is always packed whenever we visit. This time, we arrived around 6 p.m. and, thankfully, there was no queue — but our laksa turned out to be the last bowl of the day. It was a memorable meal, with everything being absolutely satisfying. We’ll definitely be back for more.
Leng S — Google review
Ordered a Nyonya Asam Laksa and Iced White Coffee for lunch on Monday, no crowd at all, so I could get a seat directly. It’s a self-service for ordering and collecting food. The Nyonya Asam Laksa was nice enough. It was tasty, and the sourness was perfect. But compared to another Asam Laksa in Penang, I think this Nyonya Asam Laksa could put more garnishes like lettuce and red onion.
Cynthia F — Google review
Food = 2 / 3 stars Service & Ambience = 0.5 / 1 star Value = 0.5 / 1 star We came here before many years ago. A man welcomed us in, and mentioned that it's last order. According to the sign inside the shop, they are open until 6:30pm, but seems like that was extended, at least for today, or the sign was outdated. I ordered cendol (RM7), while my wife ordered asam laksa with fried fu chuk (RM15). Cendol was OK, but asam laksa not so nice. Spicy but not fragrant. The fried fu chuk was good. There is not much service to talk about, since it's mostly self-service. Place order at the counter, and bring the food to tables by ourselves too. Prices too expensive for the quality of the food presented. 3 stars.
Alshane — Google review
The laksa is really one of the best I've had. The Gula melaka ice kachang is also amazing. Loved it very much. Will go back again! Wish they accepted card, it's a tourist hotspot after all.

Restaurant Ban Lee Siang is a must-visit spot in Melaka, known for its delicious satay celup. It's a popular choice among locals, with many preferring it over the famous Capitol Satay Celup due to its similar taste and more affordable prices. With over 21 years of history, this restaurant offers an authentic experience with its unique blend of local satay and steamboat cuisine styles. The hot pot filled with creamy peanut sauce is perfect for dipping the flavorful satay sticks.
There are three soup options: shared soup where everyone cooks together, a kitchen-prepared version, or a private pot for RM30. We chose the private pot — more hygienic and you can take it home if you can’t finish. The soup was fantastic! You can choose your own spice level or just add chilies to your plate. Ingredients could be more varied, but overall still good. Service was excellent — staff came over regularly to stir the pot and made sure nothing burned. They were also quick to respond to our requests, and patiently explained the soup options when we couldn’t decide. The environment is simple but clean and comfortable.

My first time trying Satay Celup and this place was definitely the right choice. They had a wide selection of skewers to choose from, the ingredients were fresh and topped up almost instantly. The satay sauce was flavourful and addictive, but do note there is an additional charge of 30RM for a fresh pot of sauce, if not you would have to re-use sauce that has been consumed by previous customers. They tend to get extremely crowded so try to be there before 8PM to beat the late dinner/supper crowds.

Quite a lot of variety with fresh ingredients. The gravy is nice, rich in taste. The staffs are attentive and will check us out just in case we need help with the gravy. Inside is too warm and I prefer to sit outside. I sat outside with breezy weather due to rainnyday. Inside is too hot even with fans and Aircond.
Bridget H — Google review
Google shows it closes at 11pm, but thankfully when we reached at 1055pm, they still allow us in. Pretty good variety of fresh ingredients. For the curry gravy, you can choose to opt for the “recycled” one or a new pot, at RM 30. The gravy is legit quite good! Shiok!! And yes, not all ingredients can go with the gravy, like your vegetables 😂 Okay, so the Lok Lok got 2 prices, short one at RM 1.30, then long one at RM 1.60. AWESOME SUPPER!

Make sure to go to the old shop with the black sign next door—don’t go to the one with the blue sign! The food is seriously, seriously, *seriously* delicious—legendary! The staff were super friendly too. The cucumber was really fresh, the chicken was tasty, and the bean curd skin, king oyster mushrooms, and abalone mushrooms were all amazing—honestly, almost everything was delicious! The broth was rich and super fragrant, way better than the grilled satay skewers you usually get outside! (Of course, maybe I just haven’t had really good satay skewers before…) But seriously, if you’re in Melaka, I *highly* recommend coming here to eat! And the restaurant is very clean.

Satay Celup Items (RM1.30 per stick) Satay Celup Items (RM 1.60 per long stick) Century Egg (RM 2.70) New Peanut Sauce (RM30) -The new soup tasted a bit watery, but still nice overall. Meanwhile, the old soup/sauce is free. Ice Lemon Tea (RM 2.80) -Refreshing taste P.S.: NOTE THAT⬇️ -I tried the Ban Lee Siang store which located about 100 meters BEFORE the original store (the one with the black signboard and with "100PLUS logo" on the left side). -I visited both (the one listed on Google and the one not listed) and can confirm this information from the staff. They actually have 2 stores, and both are owned by the same person (they just opened this second location) -The only differences between these 2 stores are the crowd and signboard (the newer one does not have the “100PLUS” logo on the left side), and the new store is less crowded, which makes it a more comfortable option compared to the first store.

Still taste good after so many years. We took the fresh pot of peanut sauce where they mix everything on the spot for additional fee. However as for refilling time, they added the sauce from their pots. Not sure if those are fresh batch. Overall the dishes are fresh and tasty. No issue finding parking but do come early as it can get very crowded.

Update: After our family experienced food poisoning from dining here, we reached out to the restaurant. The owner responded promptly and responsibly, offering compensation and showing genuine concern for our situation. We appreciate their quick response and willingness to improve their food handling and hygiene practices. Hopefully, this incident will help the restaurant continue to serve safe and delicious satay celup to all customers. ORIGINAL POST: We had dinner here, and unfortunately, our whole family experienced food poisoning afterward. Around 1:30 a.m., we started feeling bloated, followed by vomiting and diarrhea (about 3–6 times) until morning. Later, we also developed fever. This incident is not only an enormous health risk but has caused significant physical distress, emotional trauma, and inconvenience to our entire family. Given the severity of the situation, we demand the following immediate actions: 1. Medical Compensation: Due to the serious nature of this food poisoning incident, I demand appropriate compensation for the medical expenses and any other costs related to the treatment required for all affected family members. 2. Official Response: I expect a formal and detailed response outlining the actions your restaurant will take to address this matter and prevent future occurrences. The lack of immediate action in response to food safety concerns is unacceptable.

Dim sum restaurant
Chinese restaurant
Restaurant
Low Yong Moh Restaurant, also known as Restoran Rong Mao, has been a bustling dim sum eatery since 1963 and is situated across from the historic Kampung Kling Mosque in Melaka. As one of the oldest dim sum restaurants in Malacca, it holds its own charm. The interior exudes Chinese cultural influences with banquet tables, red plastic chairs, paper lanterns, and Chinese inscriptions adorning the walls.
Low Yong Moh Restaurant is one of Melaka’s oldest dim sum shops, now managed by its third generation. Located right in the UNESCO Heritage area, it’s surrounded by landmarks that reflect Melaka’s multicultural heritage — a mosque just opposite, a Hindu temple on the left, and the famous Cheng Hoon Teng Temple on the right. Because of its location, the prices are slightly above average, but the experience is truly unique. I especially enjoyed their Lotus Leaf Rice, which had a wonderful fragrance from the lotus leaf and a rich, savory flavor. It’s soft, aromatic, and perfectly cooked — one of the must-try items here. This time, I also tried the Braised Pork Bun (Kau Yuk Bao). The portion was generous — a big piece of tender pork belly wrapped in a soft steamed bun. The pork had distinct layers of lean and fat at each end, creating a satisfying texture. The staff were friendly and attentive, maintaining the warmth of a family-run restaurant. If you love history and want to experience the charm of Melaka’s three religions coexisting on one street, Low Yong Moh is the perfect place to enjoy authentic dim sum with a sense of nostalgia.

Lovely old school dimsum place, service is good and efficient (and speak in English). The steamed dimsums are better in taste, each having its own flavor. Opens mainly for breakfast till 11:30 am. For tourists like me, this hit the spot. Oh, also spotlessly clean!
Rinita S — Google review
Went to eat super early in the morning thinking there's a crowd to beat. It's our 2nd time back after a long time. The food is pretty typical dim sum fare, nothing exceptional. I've had better dim sum fare. Spent RM 132 for 4a and 1c.
K L — Google review
Homemade dimsum served here. We found the dimsum to be hit or miss depending on which you got. We came over a long weekend so the situation was very chaotic when we visited. We ordered the lotus leaf rice (5/5), charsiew bao (4/5), xiaolongbao (3/5), lau sha bao (4/5), siewmai (4/5), yam pork (3/5), fried prawn dumpling (4/5), fried tofu (3/5). We noted quite a few of their dimsum looked different from the standard look, so be sure to ask what everything is :) we found the pricing a little steep but it’s acceptable for the area. RM78 for 4 pax.
CW W — Google review
People are friendly there, service is good and attentive The Dimsum are look like in-house made, (not frozen one from the factory) Lotus leaf rice and prawn Siumai are very nice!!!! We ordered 11 Dimsum + chrysanthemum drink+ a pot of tea (1pax) only RM 58.8. There’s slightly hot in the shop even sitting outdoor. It’s the only drawback part. But it’s ok, jz go there in a less-sunny day or early morning. ☺️
BT — Google review
According to my local friend, locals in Melaka don’t usually eat dim sum for lunch — the latest they’ll have it is around 10am. True enough, we arrived at 12 noon and there were only 3 occupied tables, including ours. By then, the food selection was quite limited — the congee was sold out, and only some dim sum items and remaining baos were available. That said, it didn’t stop us from staying for a quick meal. We still enjoyed a few dim sum dishes. Portions are small but well done. The har gow skin was on the thicker side, but the flavour was still good. The lor mai gai was the highlight for my husband — fragrant, comforting, and filling. Payment was made in cash, though I did spot a QR code, so e-payment might be accepted too.
Tan. W — Google review
Traditional dim sum shop with a wide selection of dim sum. Dim sum filling is nice and tasty but some dishes were a miss. Bao(bun) skin was too thick and doughy not allowing the flavours of the filling to shine through.
Y S — Google review
I will make sure to drop by this place for breakfast every time I visit Malacca. Although its dim sum is not the best I have tasted anywhere outside Hong Kong, the vibes feel very authentic just like a traditional Cantonese family-run dim sum restaurant.

Cafe
Mods Cafe, Artisan Hand Roasted Coffee 精品碳烤咖啡 is a unique and trendy coffee shop located near the Cheng Hoon Teng temple in Melaka. The cafe's interior is adorned with a music theme, featuring a large VW campervan as the centerpiece, vinyl records on the walls, and vintage decor reminiscent of the 1960s mod culture.
I stumbled upon this café years ago and have made it a must-visit whenever I’m in Malacca. It’s one of those spots that feels like home. Their coffee never failed me. My last visit was definitely pre-MCO, and coming back now was such a treat. They’ve added a super friendly staff member who shared some great coffee knowledge with us. I even had a quick chat with the owners—it’s heartwarming to see how their family has grown (two kids now!) and that the café is open daily except Wednesdays (back then, it was a bit of a lucky draw to catch them open!). The Tiramisu was as amazing as I remembered, and I’ve heard the scones are a must-try for my next visit. Can’t wait to come back! Note: I’ve always loved this café, but I get that some might find their house rules a bit unconventional. Honestly, that’s part of what makes them so unique. It’s a charm only true fans can appreciate—once you get it, you really get it.
Jessie Y — Google review
If you're a coffee lover visiting Melaka, Mods Cafe is a must-visit. The coffee here is absolutely top-notch — they roast their own beans, process their own milk, and the bean selection is impressive. You can really taste the passion in every cup. What made the visit even better was the owner. Super humble and easy to talk to, a genuine love for coffee and sharing knowledge. Our conversation flowed effortlessly, and it was refreshing to chat with someone so open and passionate. Take note that their house rules might not suit everyone — but that’s part of their charm. It’s clear they take their craft seriously and we will definitely appreciated that. This place is not just about good coffee — it’s about the whole experience!
Syarif S — Google review
Satisfactory service, great ambience for you to enjoy your coffee. Was introduced with their SOE beans that they claim to be roasted with binjhotan charcoal (pardon my spelling) and price ranging from rm45-60 per cup. Frankly speaking was quite shocked with their price since normally SOE price (especially competition beans) that is usually sold with that price. I ordered one flat white and one colombia beans total up to around rm58. This is my take on their drinks (my personal opinion). Flat white with brazil blend served on a ~200ml cup with no latte art, they basically just pour the milk in, dissapointed on the first look. First sip tasted milky, with nutty and chocolatey hints came afterwards but very mild. Told the barista about it, but they somehow discuss only among them in mandarin which they agree the coffee a bit underwhelming (my friend understands mandarin thankfully haha). 3/10 for the flat white, atleast have some art so it look presentable and rectify with us back why. For the colombia, it was nice, the complex flavour from the beans were highlited quickly on the first sip, got hints of the fruity notes and balanced acidity. Clean cup of coffee. I did asked the staffs about the binjhotan charcoal but they asked me to just google about it. Another lady did tried to explain about it since i’m eagerly curious on wanting to know how does this kind of roasting method might influence the bean’s taste but somehow she’s a bit reluctant to share it with us. I ended up googling to understand better haha. 7/10. Read at vulcan post that the owner Mr Abert doesn’t really care about the negative reviews since all of them is not true “coffee lover” but hear this. As a coffee consumer, I understand that the cost i paid including the beans, equipment, service and the place itself since im dining in, but would greatly appreciate if your staffs could provide clever details on the binjhotan charcoal in coffee roastery for the next asking customer, and provide justification on the milk you’re using if you feel that the coffee you serve will taste underwhelming, or maybe its just my tastebuds. P/s: Took pic of the drinks just as an evidence

After 10 years or so, I am back to this cafe that introduced me to specialty coffee. This is a hidden gem of specialty coffee in Melaka. If I only have time for one cafe, it's this one. I tried their latte with milk reduction (milk with reduced water). It tasted like a creamy salted caramel creme brulee. I also had a filter with notes of peaches, then citrus and lemon and finishing with floral notes, very well balanced and sweet. A must visit place. Please skip this cafe if you are only there for Instagram, leave the seats for those who are serious about coffee.

Went there two days in a row. Very friendly barista who explained to me their whole process. Excellent excellent coffee. Had their black coffee, love it. Then went next day for latte, it’s the best I ever had, creamy without being milky, and it complements the coffee very well. I had Ethiopia beans for my latte A definite must visit place, just be prepared to spend the money for it. Really worth the price

They really serve very good coffee. Freshly self roasted. All beans are premium selection. The barista even suggested what best for my latte. True enough the taste was so delightful, perfectly balance and full of sensation. Only thing if only you are willing to pay the price.

The owner are really serious about their coffee. Very friendly people who recommended special blend for our lattes. The coffee were very delicious so that we bought beans to enjoy at home. The staff was very patient to explain how to best prepare the beans so that we can get the best cup of coffee

Cendol Kampung Hulu in Melaka is a must-visit for those seeking an authentic and satisfying cendol experience. The cendol here stands out with its rich and creamy coconut milk base, made using a special Korean bingsu ice machine. What sets it apart is the use of frozen coconut milk as the foundation, giving it a unique and indulgent flavor.
My all-time favourite! It’s a must-have every time I’m in town. Their cendol is extra special because the shaved ice is made from santan, giving it a rich, creamy taste. So refreshing and delicious! Unfortunately, the price has gone up quite a bit, but it’s still worth it for the quality and unique flavour.

Located near river banks with old vibes of Melaka. Their Cendol Durian has authentic taste and savory. If their portion was too big, u can share with your friend or couple while eating here. Their service was so good and friendly.
Moh S — Google review
In the blistering heat, what better way to cool off than a fine bowl of Chendol? I am not a professional food reviewer, but trust me when I say this, the Chendol here was worth the hype. Got the Chendol Biasa and was pleasantly surprised when it came with a scoop of ice cream on top! The ice quality was amazing (finely shaved ice) which made the experience all the more sweeter. One bowl is never enough! Do swing by Cendol Kampung Hulu if you are in Malacca and have the opportunity.

First time trying food around this tourist area. Expecting delay in service (was a bit delay because they need to cater so many people at one time because it’s like a hall room that offer different and variety of meals) food quality probably doesn’t reach my standard (a bit of for me) tasteless nasi lemak…! (doesn’t kick or giving at all) Char Kuey Teow taste so so, so… satay doesn’t cook well (raw part spotted) but the kuah kacang taste so good… other than that, I’m not sure… the view wasn’t really good though…
Mohd A — Google review
For me as indonesian it doesnt meet my expectation , maybe its just not my kind of cendol Its good but its too creamy for me 🙏 But they have lots of menu and its interesting
Tritan A — Google review
Melaka Cendol Surprise me is the difference of shave ice & mix with coconut milk santan, taste refreshing! Gula Melaka is a bit sweet to me. Maybe I can ask for less sweet next time. Regular Cendol has a scoop of ice cream. Looks really appetizing. RM9.90 per serving. Steep price with bigger serving. Allocated along riverside. May sit in or outside tables. Easy to takeaway off to go.
SH L — Google review
The cendol was quite ordinary with very little cendol despite being the main item on the menu. During our visit, their system was having issues—which we were perfectly fine with. But then, what were all the staff there for? Instead of assisting customers, they just acted as if nothing was wrong. Even when we looked at them, they pretended not to notice. There were plenty of staff laughing and chatting among themselves but only one female staff member attended to our table and even then, when I called her once, she simply nodded and went back to her conversation with friends. At the very least, they could have approached us first. We still had to pay a service charge, but the service was hardly there. The food also did not match what was shown on the menu. There are plenty of better places in Melaka—no need to waste time at overhyped spots like this.
Fya P — Google review
Wandering around Melaka and needing something truly refreshing, Cendol Kampung Hulu is just the place to be! The laid-back vibe is unbeatable—you get to relax outdoors by the historic river, watch the world go by, and soak in the lively buzz of wall art and old shophouses. It’s got that easy charm where you feel comfortable enough to just sit back, chat with friends, and let time flow with the breeze. The star of the scene is, no doubt, the cendol. Each bowl comes loaded with chewy green pandan jelly, creamy coconut milk, and soft red beans, all piled on top of a mountain of silky shaved ice. Rich palm sugar syrup is generously drizzled over, and the flavor burst is something out of this world. For those with bold taste buds, trying the special durian cendol adds a custardy richness that’s just unforgettable. Every scoop gives you a cool, slurpy satisfaction—perfect whether you’re melting from the heat or just craving authentic local sweets.

A small cafe by the riverside of Melaka. Its got an interior seating and roverside seating. There is a moderate variety of food items. The food tastes good. Vege items are there and can be customized for vegetarians. The servers are often busy and need to be called to for service. The seating arrangement is fair for the riverside view. The payments can be made via cash, card, and QR. Parking can be tricky. If there is no partking near the outlet, then you can park a little away and walk to the venue.

As a family, we ate at this cafe. My autistic son has allergies to certain type ingredients. They agreed to our request on basic fried rice for my boy. He was hungry. However, his fried rice came super last after 4 times reminder. And as we know a hungry person will be an angry person. My child brought the house down with his tantrums. Moral of the story, I think people just don't care anymore. There is no love. Funny part is that the lady at the counter continously told me, the cook is preparing my boy's fried rice

A beautiful, romantic hotel with warm oriental colors and a stunning riverside view. Our room was spacious and full of charm. The location is excellent, however the hotel is outdated and tired. The breakfast was not 5 star by any stretch of the imagination, both selection and quality. The staff were friendly enough but overall lacked much enthusiasm and service to the room was poor. We did love the pool! We had a river view room and it was noisy for a light sleeper. In short it didn’t meet our expectations for the cost and didn’t feel like a 5 star hotel as advertised.

walked in to buy their tiramisu mille crepe to celebrate my dad and bro’s birthday at another restaurant. it’s not overly sweet for adults but also rich with cream which kids love so perfect cake for all to enjoy. I have visited Nadeje outlet many times, regardless of the Melaka or Klang Valley outlet. And I would say this is the worst outlet of all. The crêpe cake is not fresh and melts when served (you can see clearly in the photo). Nadeje crêpe cake always gives me a good impression as their cake is fresh compared to others, but this Jaya 99 Melaka outlet is totally disappointing. The carparks are also very limited.

I don't know what happened but both cakes I ordered tonight were terrible. The premium cheese tasted like old cheese (blue cheese) and the mango passion fruit tasted like sick. Nadeje was one of my favourite crepe experience but I don't understand what we ate today. Didn't complain just ate them in puzzlement and left. Were they supposed to taste this way?

Delicious layer cake in the town, with a lot of different choices, including cakes contain alcohol! Recommend to try ! However staff react slow for taking order. Can't find washroom inside the cake shop, have to go further down into the building 2nd floor. A bit troublesome for this.

I really dissatisfied with the food quality here. The cake taste ok but for the food is really way too bad. First, I order the apple juice drink without a straw, that's ok they might be careless. But then for the food quality is worse as you can see the third photo, where there is a rolled up tissue umder my chicken? That's doesn't make any sense at all. Then all I can taste the chicken is just only skin where you can see there is NO meat inside. The rice is hard like left there for few days. It is hard for me to chew the rice or even use the spoon. My friend had the spaghetti was undercooked. She was barely bit the spaghetti, and the sauce of the spaghetti taste really bad, we all really lost our appetite. Only suggest for the cake, but the food, you still need A LOT of improvement.

Nestled within the bustling Bukit Beruang Bazaar, Xin Garden Restaurant is a delightful spot for those seeking authentic Chinese cuisine in a comfortable setting. With its air-conditioned environment and simple decor, it offers an inviting atmosphere to enjoy a diverse menu that caters to various tastes. Diners rave about dishes like the Dry Pork Curry Rice and Sauteed Mixed Vegetables, both of which come highly recommended for their flavor and generous portions.
If you're cruising around Bukit Beruang and craving some Chinese cuisine that won't break the bank, look no further! I recently dined at this gem of a restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the delightful offerings. I ordered the curry fish, which was a flavor explosion, and the eggplant with pork floss—trust me, it's a match made in culinary heaven. The deep-fried squid with spices was crispy and perfectly seasoned. Each dish was a testament to good taste without the hefty price tag. If you're looking for a satisfying meal that won't leave your wallet feeling light, this spot comes highly recommended. Just be prepared to fight the urge to order everything on the menu! I will definitely come again next time.

Good, fresh, tasty Chinese food restaurant. Quite an extensive menu. Ask them for recommendations when dining here. We had a family meal here and ordered quite a lot of dishes to share. Deep fried brinjal with salted egg was good and tasty. The steamed fish with chili sauce was nice too. Lots of fresh vegetables. Service was fast since we came early. By the time our food arrived, the restaurant was already filled up with customers with a queue outside. Place is clean. Food is delicious. Price is just ok, not cheap and not too expensive. About RM 280 for 10 of us (see the food picture) which Chinese tea. Parking easily available outside.

This is a Chinese restaurant operating within Bukit Beruang Bazaar It has an air conditioned simple setup, which is comfortable. The restaurant has a relatively wide menu selection of dishes. Enjoyed their Dry Pork Curry Rice. Heir Sauteed Mixed Vegetables is good too . Both dishes are recommended.. Food portions are reasonable. Service is fast and professional. Cleanliness is good. The Mall provides clean public washrooms. Handicapped facilities are also adequately provided by the mall. Handicapped patrons on wheelchairs can patronize this restaurant easily. Prices are reasonable. Cash and e-wallet payments are accepted here Parkings are roadside parkings. There is also a reasonably large carpark nearby..

Lunch is great here. Not so crowded during weekdays. Just choose from the menu. Great Chinese dishes. Good for family treat.

Responsive crews. Food tastes acceptable with reasonable price. They accept eWallet payment.

One of the few AC Chinese restaurants in the area. No frills simple set up. Friendly staff. Prices are a bit on the high side. Does get crowded so reservations are a must during holidays & weekends. Plenty of street side parking. We ordered several dishes - spicy fried sotong, braised hokkien mee, chef special friend rice, chili chicken, dragon veggy & claypot salted fish pork belly. They were average at best. Nothing to shout about. Reasonable portions. Unfortunately no beer or liquor which was disappointing. We ended just having iced Chinese tea which was good. It was an okay meal. Worth a visit if looking for a comfortable group meal.

This local gem features various stalls serving up popular dishes like fried koay tiow, mee rebus, laksa, duck noodles, and economic rice—each worth sampling for their above-average flavors. The drink selection mirrors typical coffee shop offerings and is reasonably priced, with some options even more budget-friendly.
Go for the Tse char at the air conditioned side of the restaurant. The fish soup and their fried tofu are really good

Came here for breakfast. Tried the mee rebus here. Personally it’s not my liking. Just average. There’s some other stalls selling chic rice, mixed rice, char kway teow, wanton noodles too. Drinks are normal like any other Kopitiam. Cleanliness acceptable. This shop is located inside Taman. Corner shop lot. Ample of parking nearby.

A simple coffee shop located in Melaka Baru area in Batu Berendam, Melaka. There are numerous stores serving a wide varieties of Chinese food. Those food served there are above average. The fried koay tiow, mee rebus, laksa, duck noodles and economic rice are worth trying. Their drinks are the usual coffee shop drinks. Prices there are reasonable and some stalls' prices are on the low side. Cleanliness is acceptable. Service is acceptable and depending on the time. May be a little slow during peak hours. Numerous road side coupon parkings available. There are also some parkings in nearby housing estate. Business is back to normal. Prices had risen only slightly. Quality of food and food portions are maintained. Economic Rice stall still serving meals at great value. 09-03-2023 : Viewed their "restaurant portion" of their setup. The setup is nice and able to host about 10 tables for 10 guests. Good place to consider when hosting a small function. 25-05-2023 : Prices, food quality and food portions are maintained. 福记香港烧腊 Hock Gee Restaurant is a delightful culinary find that offers an inviting atmosphere with friendly staff and impeccable cleanliness. This eatery, discovered by a food adventurer, features a unique self-service style where diners can select from warming trays filled with mouthwatering dishes. The menu boasts an impressive array of roasted meats, including beloved options like roast pork and belly pork stew, alongside flavorful offerings such as bitter melon and curry dishes.
Mixed rice restaurant that also serves roasted pork and roasted duck. Popular with locals who usually packed their meals here. Also a good place to makan there because it’s air conditioned.

Nice mixed rice restaurant. Good food. Almost home cooked style. Delicious roast duck, roast pork and char siew. Can come support in Taman Malim. Prices 👍, affordable.

In addition to their excellent roasted meats, there’s a great variety of other delicious dishes to choose from. While the prices are slightly higher than those at typical restaurants, they remain reasonable and affordable. Located in a residential area within a Taman, this place offers a wide selection of economy rice dishes. The pork curry is flavorful, the sweet and sour pork is tasty, and there’s a good variety of vegetables, including Mui Choy. A solid choice for a satisfying meal. Milk tea is my fav too.

Crowded during peak timing. Suggest to go around 11am. The owners are very friendly. Chaotic I front of the shop as they do serve pick your own dishes. I went in straight to look for seat. Ordered quarter lower portion of duck and packed roast pork. Duck and roast are good. MYR 60 (if I remembered correctly) is definitely above average.

Economical rice style with some roasted meat. We ordered 1/2 roast duck, rm12 roast pork & some side dishes. I found that the duck without the sweet sauce is nicer, so we ordered another 1/2 roast duck without sweet sauce. The sweet & sour pork is delicious. The oil rice is deliciously cooked with ginger. 1 roast duck, a portion of roast pork, 3 side dishes, 5 drinks, 5 rice = total rm143 I gave 4 stars only because ALL the food is too oily.

Had BBQ platter and various vegetables. BBQ were excellent especially roasted chicken, duck and char siew. The Mui Choy is a must try 😉👍🏻💯. We had the platter and various vegetables and also tapau 1 person's portion of roasted duck breast, braised tofu and Mui choy. 1 coffee and Chinese tea. All rm51.90....speechless💯👍🏻✌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Restaurant Chuen How is a laid-back dining spot known for its specialty in chap fan, a local favorite featuring packed rice with various sides. Despite its location outside the city center, the restaurant provides a comfortable kopitiam-style seating area, offering visitors a relaxing environment to savor their meal. The eatery's main highlight is its delicious charred pork served in different varieties, with the charsiew strip being particularly popular for its sweet and smoky flavor.
This shop gives a Nostalgic Coffee shop vibe, the signature dish is actually a mixed rice with roast pork. The Char Siew tasted sweet, charred smokey chopped in smaller size for crunchiness, the siew yoke tasted crunchy crispy and also burnt, it is still crispy though they looked like it was burnt. I will not use fine dining ruler to judge this shop, the roast pork, the 斋鹅 tasted good, when mixed with the dark sauce it combines the old school feel of when you’re still schooling, and your dad bought you a very nice plate of roast pork rice, this is it. The happiness flows through your mouth when you give a bite. Superb. Order some classic coffee ice or bali drink to relive the moment. Queue is rather acceptable for good food, is it worth a detour? I would detour to come here for the food. Price ranges from RM8 - RM13 for two mixed pork with vege. (Pork is more expensive now and the ringgit is devalued) its not cheap but I would come.
Fc — Google review
The char siew and siu yok rice remain consistently good, but I was disappointed with the crispy garlic pork. The meat was heavily coated with flour, prioritizing crunchiness over the actual meat quality.
Amanda C — Google review
Tried their new launched menu and it can be improved. The taste is so-so especially the salted egg sauce. But must try signature sweetish cha siew 👍🏻
ML T — Google review
All the food very nice the best must try The char siu ❤️
Wanling L — Google review
Main offering here are tasty charred pork in different varieties, what I liked most was the charsiew strip, full of sweet and smokey flavour and tasted fresh. Apart from that you can also top up with the classic fried egg and other side dishes. I find the braised tofu and egg good, and also liked the moey choy and stir fried cabbage. After choosing your meat and vege on plate, your plate will send to next station for the gravy, usually I prefer the soy and curry gravy mixed, superb mash up of tastes.

Food is nice, i tried their salted egg pork rice, overall okay. It's a chicken rice shop actually but they sell many variety of food like cheese chicken/pork chop rice, salted egg sotong and more which is nice. Cleanliness not bad, service is acceptable. The shop regularly has many customers but it wont be too crowded, the food will however be ready within 15 minutes wait. Price is acceptable too, like for my salted egg pork chop rice with egg the price is Rm8.50, fair for the quantity.

Top 3 cendol in Malacca for me!!! The cendol here is so good! The coconut milk and the gula melaka is kaw. The creaminess and sweetness of this cendol is just nice. Inside this cendol has buah nipah and red beans. The ABC is okay for me as I prefer the cendol more. It’s not too sweet with the rose syrup and gula melaka. Inside the ABC has corn, barley and red beans. Price is RM5 per bowl and one bowl can share with 2 persons as the portion is quite big. They have mixed rice here and the price seems reasonable but I didn’t try them yet as I already had my lunch before coming.

Hotel
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Jonker Street, Tang House 邓宅名宿酒店 offers a charming and budget-friendly stay for travelers seeking an authentic experience. This family-run guesthouse features cozy rooms situated within a historic Peranakan shophouse, adorned with beautiful dark wood accents and delightful wooden shutters. Guests can enjoy shared amenities like two kitchens, a coffee shop, and a lounge area to unwind after exploring the bustling surroundings.
You're exactly in the heart of Jonker Street. During the night market, the food stalls are right in front of the hotel. There was no noise disturbance regardless we were staying on the first room (closest to the front door) on the first floor. Check-in check-out was super seamless, we can even drop our luggage before and after, although there was no one to watch it (so better lock your luggage). The value for money is certainly in the location, partially for the room. Room is small but enough if you will be wandering around whole day. WiFi works fine, hair-dryer was provided. No window. No big mirror for the ladies, or electricity socket near it, but we'll survive regardless.
Vanda P — Google review
This place is right in the happening Jonker street. Depending on the event calendar. It could be noisy during event night. We were lucky to have stayed in the back room, ground floor away from the street. The place has been recently refurbished. Our room was small but comfortable. The only thing they need to improve is their house keeping. They left an old soap for us to use. The toilet paper is running out. The room needs an additional floor mat for the bathroom. The current one as shown in the picture cannot absorb the water and dry our feet properly. Oh by the way, I booked through a third party app and I did not receive the password until we arrived. It was late but managed to call them for verification and finally got into our room. Please make sure you get your password sent to you before you arrive. Anyway, location wise, superb for those who want to go around Jonker street. You can get food easily. They got a corner coffee shop serving breakfast and lunch.

I stayed at Tang House during my trip to Melaka and had a comfortable experience. The room was simple but clean — just right for resting after a long day. What I loved most was the strategic location: it’s just steps away from great local food, Jonker Street, and other attractions. Perfect place if you’re planning to explore the city on foot. Would stay here again!
Nathalia F — Google review
Nice little homestay right in the middle of Jonker street. Not directly accessible by car, you need to park nearby and walk 3 minutes. Try to avoid weekends because there is a night market, which can be very distracting and noisy if you face it. If you like being in the middle of the action, definitely book a room here. If you stay in the side rooms, sound is bearable. Our mattresses were on the floor, which is a regional way of staying cool so don't be too shocked about the lack of a bed frame. I stayed in a tiny twin room that only cost SGD$17 per night. Aircon was nice and strong and toilets were clean. It is an authentic homestay for backpackers so don't expect tons of comfort. *There is a familymart, 7eleven and tons of other small convenience stores nearby so you will be well-stocked.
Gladys C — Google review
When checking in, we got the wrong code and ended up disturbing the sleep of another hotel guest! Unfortunately, there is no fridge to use. Pay attention, they have rooms without windows.
Christian A — Google review
Even though its a budget hotel, owner and staff are very friendly. Rooms are very clean and simple, comes with bed, air-condition, bedside table and a cloths rack. Toilets are shared and had water heater shower in all of them. Overall a very nice place to stay with all the nice food around and a big carpark just at the back if you drive. Will definitely return to stay if I come melaka again.

Conveniently located at Jonker Street, this place is spacious and neat. Comes with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Highly recommended for family.

I don't think I will be back....The bed is not comfortable and if you are light sleeper is a wrong place to sleep in.... specialy on Fri, sat and sun where there are night market... the stall holder clearing the stall till 1 to 2am the noise the car the people talking.... and the bed I think they need a new mattress. I understand for a price like this I can't ask for more... but I also believe I rather pay abit more for a better sleep. Purely sharing my experience here. I must say the people here is all good nice and friendly.

Mei Wei Xuan is a restaurant known for its roasted duck and pork, which are usually ready after 5pm. The basic layout of the place includes ducks hanging up and pots with stock and water to boil noodles. The environment is clean, and customers enjoy dishes like braised duck noodle with braised pork intestine. The yellow noodles are cooked perfectly, not too salty, and served with the right type of chili sauce.

We had duck, roasted pork, char siew, kueh teow dry, yellow noodle dry, tau geh (towards uncooked kind, if you fancy). All the meat were not bad tasting. Not tough kind of meat. A little but of crackling on the roasted pork skin and. It is thinly sliced, easy on the chew. 4pax RM 68. Worth eating if you are nearby. Pleasant staff. Clean dining area. Non a/c but it's cooling.
