1POPIAH TA CHONG

Restaurant
POPIAH TA CHONG is a popular dish in Melaka, known for its nonya-style spring rolls. These spring rolls are not fried but assembled with a steamed wrap and sweet palm sugar sauce, filled mainly with stir-fried bangkwang. Bunga Raya and Jonker Street are famous spots to try this dish, each adding their own unique twist. Baba Low's version includes gula Melaka for added sweetness and flavor.
Queued almost an hour for Popiah Ta Chong in Melaka, and it was totally worth it. The popiah skin was soft with a nice chew, wrapping a generous mix of sengkuang, pork lard, fried egg, tofu, and lettuce. Each bite was flavorful with tender sengkuang, crispy fresh lard, and fragrant egg and tofu that tied everything together. We finished a roll each easily and even tried to pack more, but it sold out right after we bought ours. A true Melaka must-try and one of the best popiahs around. 📸 Follow @ayaalan.foodie for more foodie reviews!

Tried the other the Popiah (spring roll) @ Bunga Raya. Compare to Ta Chong Popiah, I prefer Ta Chong personally. Waited 50 mins for this, would say worth the wait to try if you havent. Both are good, purely depends on your personal taste buds. Overall, Ta Chong is tasier and most of all, cheaper @5 rm per piece. Bunga Raya is 7rm per piece. Ta Chong's Popiah has got more pork lard, lettuce and egg. Fillings is very juicy with juices left over after eating. Having tasted both, on first bite, my liking was immediate, can tell the difference that Ta Chong is tastier, not very salty or strong overpowering flavour. Its a just nice blend of taste and pork lard has got more. Skin is soft and warm, which is why its good to eat immediately after buying. Can say its another level, you cant get this in Singapore. There is no dining in. Its a snack to go, eating on the spot while its hot is the best or you can bring home to enjoy it, still delicious I reckon. On weekends, likely there will be a queue. It really depend on your luck, can be super long queue or no queue at all. I came on a Saturday morning, so lucky the Queue not very long but starting to get longer as the day goes by. Park, buy, eat and go. If you drive, its really try your luck looking for lots. The stall is located at just by the street, so only parallel parking. If cant find a parking lot, get your passenger to go buy it while you stop on road side with hazard lights on.
Gary C — Google review
Very good tasty FAT popiah indeed! Packed with generous fillings of juicy turnip, tao gua (fried bean curd), fried egg and crispy pork lard & lettuce in sweet & savoury brown sauce. Do go early when they open so queue is shorter 🤣
Jo-anne W — Google review
A must-visit spot for popiah lovers—famous for its generous pork lard and it very long queues. Lol. Each RM 5 roll is freshly made with a thin wrap, umami dark sauce, spicy chilli, stewed jicama, lettuce, omelette, tofu, and a glorious heap of crispy pork lard. Expect to wait at least 45 minutes, especially since they’ve stopped taking advance orders due to manpower limits—walk-in only now. Go early to avoid disappointment, as they turn away latecomers once sold out or prepare for closing of the day as early as 1-2 hours before closing time. Every roll is crafted with care, so if someone ahead orders 20, brace yourself. It’s sweet, savoury, crunchy, eggy, and tastisfying—an Asian burrito done right.
Yang — Google review
Should you intend to consume it at your residence, I would suggest this is better to BungaRaya PP; conversely, if you intend to dine there, I believe BungaRayaPP is preferable. Frankly, both are similarly commendable and delectable. Pre-booking is no longer available; everyone must queue. The anticipated duration is approximately 4-5 minutes per individual. Consequently, if there are 10 people ahead of you, it could take roughly 40-50 minutes, contingent upon the quantity they are purchasing. From December 25 onward, they are elevating the price to RM6, though I anticipate it will not impact the queue; tourists from other regions will simply acquire it. Give it a try, particularly if you are not a local Malaysian. This is one of our specialties, pork lard wrap!
Sek S — Google review
Heard about the long queue hence was hesistant to go to this. They have pause preorder currently. However, a grab driver has mention this place to us and hence we decided to try our luck. Very long waiting time on a friday noon. Queuing under the hot sun is so unbearable. They do have a few chairs inside the shop to sit whole waiting. After 30 mins of waiting we started to want to leave, but we continued on and thinking that this will be our first and last time eating this. The long wait is actually mainly due to people ordering in bulk, over 10 to 20 pcs. After another hour wait, finally its our turn. The popiah is indeed very nice. I could easily finish 2 or 3 myself (though i only ordered 1). Likely i will return and queue if its a shorter queue. If preorder is available, i will definitely return! MYR 5 / popiah
Valerie H — Google review
Be prepared to wait in line. Only 2 person making & the one ahead of me ordered 11. Approximately half a min for 1. Flavor is overrated. A lot of fried pig fat that gave the predominating fragrant & taste. Stop taking preorder thru WhatsApp.
Pepperonipretzel — Google review
Overall the experience is ok, 4 stars, it’s a small shop, and we need to queue with or without shade depends on the weather! The shop opened at 10:30am today and it’s already a queue, before it opened. The queuing is not pleasant under hot sun! Also, there’s only 1 person doing the business, so I gave a 3 star! There’s some seat inside the small shop, so elderly can sit and rest. I like the Popiah, RM5/roll (wef. Dec 2025, increased to 6) with lard, a spic generously filled with ingredients like jicama (Mexican turnip), eggs, minced garlic, sliced carrots, and their secret ingredient: crispy pork lard, I would say a little local touch! Each of their popiah is individually wrapped, and you can order with or without pork lard and extra pork lard, either non spicy or spicy type! So, I gave 5 stars for the spring roll. The car packing depends on the availability along the road side, maybe need to pay!

Jonker Street Night Market is the vibrant heart of Melaka, offering a bustling open-air market on weekend nights. The street is lined with fascinating shops and restaurants serving delectable local cuisine. Visitors can explore the Orang Utan House gallery for contemporary art and browse through the Malaqa House Museum shop for exotic collectibles, sculptures, and souvenirs.
Had a fun evening at Jonker Street Night Market. The place was packed with food stalls, souvenir vendors, and lots of energy. Tried the grilled squid – freshly made and really delicious! It gets super crowded after 7 pm, so best to come early. A bit hot and packed, but definitely worth the visit for the food and lively atmosphere. A must-see when in Melaka!

The historical city of Melaka offers a captivating glimpse into the past. Its stunning heritage sites are a testament to its rich and diverse cultural influences. Exploring the city's architecture and landmarks is an enriching experience for any visitor. Moreover, the vibrant nightlife scene provides a lively contrast to the daytime exploration. You are sure to create lasting memories in this beautiful place.
Nolan B — Google review
We went here for a culture and heritage. If you go to Malacca without visiting Jonker, then you are not really visiting Malacca. The market is quite long and have a lot of items available from foods, souvenirs and clothes. Beside hawker stall, few shops are also open. The vibe here is very nice, lot of people, crowded but it's good tho. Parking can be struggle around this area so make sure to plan your arrival well. From here you also can walk to others historical spots like afamosa, makam hang kasturi, museum, menara jam and stadhuys. Some items here are quite rare too. The view are also very nice, classic architecture and wonderful experience
Hafizun M — Google review
Jonker Street Market is definitely one of the liveliest places in Melaka. The atmosphere is colorful and energetic, with plenty of street food, souvenirs, and local crafts. It’s a great place to explore the culture and enjoy some snacks like chicken rice balls, coconut shakes, and satay. However, the market gets *extremely crowded*, especially on weekends, making it hard to move around or enjoy the stalls comfortably. Prices can also be a bit inflated due to the tourist crowd, and many items feel repetitive from one stall to the next. It’s worth visiting for the experience, but go early or on a weekday if you want to avoid the rush. A good spot for foodies and street photographers, but not the best for relaxed shopping.
Lyston F — Google review
Jonker Street (Jalan Hang Jebat, Melaka) Located in the heart of Melaka’s Chinatown, Malaysia Jonker Street, officially known as Jalan Hang Jebat, is the vibrant soul of Melaka’s Chinatown — a lively stretch famous for its night market, heritage shophouses, antique stores, cafés, and street food. Once home to wealthy Peranakan (Straits Chinese) families, the street’s architecture reflects centuries of cultural fusion — Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese, and British influences all intertwined in ornate façades and wooden shutters. By day, Jonker Street is a charming lane of antique dealers, art galleries, craft shops, and traditional bakeries, selling everything from vintage cameras and porcelain to pineapple tarts and handmade jewelry. When night falls, the entire street transforms into one of Malaysia’s most beloved night markets — buzzing with food stalls, music, and lights. Visitors can savour local favourites like chicken rice balls, cendol, Nyonya laksa, satay celup, and fried radish cake, while browsing through rows of souvenirs and handmade crafts. The air is filled with laughter, the aroma of grilled skewers, and the rhythm of buskers performing under lanterns. Beyond its food and fun, Jonker Street is also a living museum — a place where heritage, commerce, and community coexist. Nearby attractions include Cheng Hoon Teng Temple (Malaysia’s oldest Chinese temple), Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum, and Kampung Kling Mosque, all within walking distance. Today, Jonker Street remains the beating heart of Melaka’s old town — a symbol of multicultural Malaysia and a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience its historic charm, creative energy, and timeless street life.

Good for a night stroll after dinner. Can get dessrts and supper. Must try their ice blended mango from the stalls. There's also stinky tofu, and many more local treats. Even selling toys and souvenirs.
N3KO C — Google review
Jonker Street, officially known as Jalan Hang Jebat, sits at the heart of Malacca’s historic Chinatown a lively blend of heritage, culture, and chaos in the best possible way. By day, its narrow lanes reveal rows of centuries-old shophouses, once home to Peranakan merchants, now transformed into cafés, antique stores, and quirky boutiques. By night, Jonker Street transforms into a vibrant night market where the air fills with the scent of grilled satay, chicken rice balls, and the sweet smoke of coconut pancakes.
Ramesh N — Google review
Jonker Night Market was honestly the best night ever! I felt like I walked forever through the busy streets, but it was so much fun with all the lights, food, and shops around. I went on a road trip with my best friend, driving all the way from KL and staying two nights — such a memorable experience. Till this day, I still dream of coming back. I absolutely love it and would go again in a heartbeat!

Dim sum restaurant
Chinese restaurant
Restaurant
Low Yong Moh Restaurant, also known as Restoran Rong Mao, has been a bustling dim sum eatery since 1963 and is situated across from the historic Kampung Kling Mosque in Melaka. As one of the oldest dim sum restaurants in Malacca, it holds its own charm. The interior exudes Chinese cultural influences with banquet tables, red plastic chairs, paper lanterns, and Chinese inscriptions adorning the walls.
Low Yong Moh Restaurant is one of Melaka’s oldest dim sum shops, now managed by its third generation. Located right in the UNESCO Heritage area, it’s surrounded by landmarks that reflect Melaka’s multicultural heritage — a mosque just opposite, a Hindu temple on the left, and the famous Cheng Hoon Teng Temple on the right. Because of its location, the prices are slightly above average, but the experience is truly unique. I especially enjoyed their Lotus Leaf Rice, which had a wonderful fragrance from the lotus leaf and a rich, savory flavor. It’s soft, aromatic, and perfectly cooked — one of the must-try items here. This time, I also tried the Braised Pork Bun (Kau Yuk Bao). The portion was generous — a big piece of tender pork belly wrapped in a soft steamed bun. The pork had distinct layers of lean and fat at each end, creating a satisfying texture. The staff were friendly and attentive, maintaining the warmth of a family-run restaurant. If you love history and want to experience the charm of Melaka’s three religions coexisting on one street, Low Yong Moh is the perfect place to enjoy authentic dim sum with a sense of nostalgia.
Lina P — Google review
Lovely old school dimsum place, service is good and efficient (and speak in English). The steamed dimsums are better in taste, each having its own flavor. Opens mainly for breakfast till 11:30 am. For tourists like me, this hit the spot. Oh, also spotlessly clean!
Rinita S — Google review
Went to eat super early in the morning thinking there's a crowd to beat. It's our 2nd time back after a long time. The food is pretty typical dim sum fare, nothing exceptional. I've had better dim sum fare. Spent RM 132 for 4a and 1c.
K L — Google review
Homemade dimsum served here. We found the dimsum to be hit or miss depending on which you got. We came over a long weekend so the situation was very chaotic when we visited. We ordered the lotus leaf rice (5/5), charsiew bao (4/5), xiaolongbao (3/5), lau sha bao (4/5), siewmai (4/5), yam pork (3/5), fried prawn dumpling (4/5), fried tofu (3/5). We noted quite a few of their dimsum looked different from the standard look, so be sure to ask what everything is :) we found the pricing a little steep but it’s acceptable for the area. RM78 for 4 pax.
CW W — Google review
People are friendly there, service is good and attentive The Dimsum are look like in-house made, (not frozen one from the factory) Lotus leaf rice and prawn Siumai are very nice!!!! We ordered 11 Dimsum + chrysanthemum drink+ a pot of tea (1pax) only RM 58.8. There’s slightly hot in the shop even sitting outdoor. It’s the only drawback part. But it’s ok, jz go there in a less-sunny day or early morning. ☺️
BT — Google review
According to my local friend, locals in Melaka don’t usually eat dim sum for lunch — the latest they’ll have it is around 10am. True enough, we arrived at 12 noon and there were only 3 occupied tables, including ours. By then, the food selection was quite limited — the congee was sold out, and only some dim sum items and remaining baos were available. That said, it didn’t stop us from staying for a quick meal. We still enjoyed a few dim sum dishes. Portions are small but well done. The har gow skin was on the thicker side, but the flavour was still good. The lor mai gai was the highlight for my husband — fragrant, comforting, and filling. Payment was made in cash, though I did spot a QR code, so e-payment might be accepted too.
Tan. W — Google review
Traditional dim sum shop with a wide selection of dim sum. Dim sum filling is nice and tasty but some dishes were a miss. Bao(bun) skin was too thick and doughy not allowing the flavours of the filling to shine through.
Y S — Google review
I will make sure to drop by this place for breakfast every time I visit Malacca. Although its dim sum is not the best I have tasted anywhere outside Hong Kong, the vibes feel very authentic just like a traditional Cantonese family-run dim sum restaurant.

Chinese restaurant
Poh Piah Lwee is a small kopitiam located near the end of Jonker Street in Melaka, Malaysia. It offers a unique take on popiah, a traditional dish known for its healthy ingredients. At Poh Piah Lwee, popiah is served with stewed jicama, lettuce, bean sprouts, minced meat, and pork lard. The jicama used in their popiah is notably sweeter and chunkier than usual.
It’s a small place tucked away on the road. Was recommended to me by a friend who’s from Malaysia and he was spot on. The flavours are unmatched in the laksa, I’ve had few in Australia but it’s completely different to the taste I had back home. Definitely worth visiting. In addition to laksa try their dumplings too, soo good
Sushma K — Google review
I was attracted to this food spot for its menu including Popiah, Nyonya laksa, minced meat noodle, Nyonya dumpling, rojak, five type of famous food at one stall. Parking could be a challenge since limited parking lot along the road. Ordering is fast and Food served to us in short period of time. We were unlucky as the popiah is sold out and I was disappointed with that. Nyonya laksa is special and rich in flavour, rojak and meat noodle is so so, dumpling is fresh and tasty. Overall is above average and well worth to try for.
Sheah W — Google review
Food taste good, no feeling thirsty after eating. Hidden gem in Jonker Walk Melaka. Local chinese shop environment, no fancy decorations. Believe run by own family. Will come again in the future.
Timeless V — Google review
Poh piah are made to order. Fresh and tasty. We ordered one to taste and immediately ordered a second one after the first bite. The nynoya dumpling tastes great as well.
Yvonne H — Google review
Personally, I find the poh piah a little underwhelming. The skin was dry, and the ingredients didn't bring up any memorable flavours. The laksa was really tasty and fragrant, and we could have added another bowl! The Nonya bak Chang, however, underperformed, and we were a little disappointed.
KC C — Google review
Sgrean discovering good food in Melaka 😁 Like & Follow me for more if you feel my recommendations are useful. Ordered 5items from pictures on the wall. Laska and Rojak are pretty flavourful, good. Rice dumplings are normal, their poh piah is ok, I like the other more famous better. The noodles, if you are really hungry and wanna something non-spicy.
NeoFood — Google review
Very well balanced food. Nyonya laksa was so good and filled with spices. Popiah was freshly made, though the skin was slightly thicker but the ingredients were well packed! Not crowded and easily got a space, which is good! Nyonya dumpling is recommended too, good ingredients. Very friendly and welcoming boss 😊
Sarah C — Google review
From tasty laksa to popiah to Nyonya dumplings, ALL are delicious. We even bought 20 packed dumplings and brought them all back to Singapore. The store also accepts Touch & Go which is convenient for cashless payment.

Dessert shop
If you're tired of waiting in long lines for popular tourist foods in Malacca, head over to the simple Putu Piring Melaka stall on Jalan Tengkera. This family-run establishment offers a delightful experience with its warm and freshly made putu piring. These bite-sized snacks are round discs made of steamed rice flour filled with ground peanuts or gula Melaka, giving them a sweet and salty flavor.
Arrived just after opening at 1300hr Bought 6pc/medium ($1.60/pcs) Very soft outer layer that melts in your mouth. Filling not too sweet. Good size too. Overall, very tasty! (Would have preferred more shredded coconut)
Mike Y — Google review
The best putu piring in Melaka town! Putu Piring is a steam rice kuih fills with Gula Melaka and shredded coconut to add the balance of sweetness and saltiness. So that it doesn’t taste very sweet. This is delicious!! The best way to enjoy the Putu Piring is to eat it while it’s fresh and hot. However, it is still safe to eat within 4 hours of purchase. For those who insist on keeping their Putu Piring in their chiller. And preheat about 5 minutes via steaming. But it won’t be good as freshly made. Open everyday except Sunday from 1pm to 4pm only. Closed on Sundays. No pre-order. First come first basic and prepare CASH only. If you don’t want to queue long, then come early as 1pm ☺️
Cassandra Y — Google review
Opens at 1 PM (closed on Sundays). I came right at opening and still had to queue a bit, depends on how fast the staff prepare the orders. Taste was decent, though on the sweeter side. The gula melaka filling is quite generous, which sweet-tooth fans might enjoy. The shredded coconut gives a nice salty touch, but for me personally the sweetness was a bit too much. No dedicated parking, so need to park by the roadside. Overall, worth trying at least once if you’re in the area.
Henry E — Google review
This popular Putu Piring stall in Melaka draws long queues—even 10 minutes after opening at 1pm. Despite a 30-minute wait under intense heat, the experience is worth it. Each RM 1.60 piece is made fresh to order, with rice flour, chewy coconut shavings, and rich Gula Melaka steamed to a perfect airy texture. Customers can watch the family prepare each piece from scratch. The shop suggests leaving the lid open for 10 minutes to release steam, or digging in hot if you’re ready. The taste is well-balanced, with smoothness, sweetness, and savouriness in harmony.
Yang — Google review
This is a family run business, has been around for more than 30 years and remains a very popular spot for locals and tourists. Always with long queue but worth to get the delicious Putu Piring in Melaka. Putu Piring is a round, steamed rice cake filled with Gula Melaka, served with freshly grated coconut. It is best to eat it when it's freshly made and hot.
Avelynn — Google review
An iconic snack to enjoy when visiting Melaka. Best putu piring I’ve had in a very long time (can’t find any that’s this smooth and soft in KL). RM1.60 per piece, which is a reasonable price. Definitely will revisit. Stood in line for about 20 mins on a Saturday afternoon when I arrived at 12.20pm. Good service as well.
Leti — Google review
Hard-to-get but nice little snack. My eating experience was a bit inconsistent. Some pieces do not have much grated coconut (fell off) so it wasn’t as tasty, while the pieces with good amount of grated coconut was really delicious. Mixed feelings about this highly anticipated food, may or may not come back for more.
Felix L — Google review
Unplanned re-visit to [Putu Piring Melaka] for their flavourful and absolutely delicious Putu Piring! I'm not a fan of Kueh Tutu, but this one, I actually am a fan of. A great balance of textures and flavours. Last time I had this was years ago, and it still tastes as good.

This famous Malacca popiah stall sells some of the most delicious and sinful popsicles in the region, made with pork lard as their special ingredient. They're strict about no photos, so make sure you stop by if you're in town!
This must be the best popiah I ever had. Love the chunky turnips, and thr wrap didn't get soggy. Fun chef making the popiah was very friendly. Was lucky to visit during weekday, no queue. Will be back!
Freddy K — Google review
Very good popiah, one of the best I ever had. Pork lard very nice, put a lot. Almost every bite has some pork lard. For me, not enough chili but that is personal preference. Also very reasonably priced.
D — Google review
The Popiah (spring roll) is fabulously delicious. On first bite, the taste of pork lard infused ingredients fills your mouth with taste that your taste bud asking for more. The skin is soft and tender, biting into it together with the fillings, is just another different but even more wonderful taste than other popiah i have tasted. Can say another level, you cant get this in Singapore. There is no dining in. Its a snack to go, eating on the spot while its hot is the best or you can bring home to enjoy it, still delicious I reckon. On weekends, likely there will be a queue. It really depend on your luck, can be super long queue or no queue at all. I came on a Thursday afternoon, so lucky, no queue at all. Park, buy, eat and go. If you drive, its really try your luck looking for lots. The stall is located at a cross road junction, so only parallel parking. If cant find a parking lot, get your passenger to go buy it while you stop on road side with hazard lights on. If you come Malacca, can give this a try, there is another stall selling popiah and you can try both to see which is to your liking.

Great popiah with superb service as well. Even with such a long queue, store owners were so friendly and accommodating. The addition of pork lard in the popiah was heavenly and completely ingenious. It was crispy and fragrant, elevating the flavour to a whoe new level. The popiah skin was also really thin, would buy that back if possible. Do try to come early and avoid peak hours, especially on weekends. We arrived at about 1pm and had to wait about 30 minutes for our food. Note that there is a max of 11 rolls per customer during peak hours.
GG K — Google review
Quite good of a popiah, the fillings were amazing, from the sengkuang to the pork lard. I came on a Thursday, only 3 people in front of me, so I got my popiah fast. However i felt the skin to be a bit thicker than to my liking and the skin is very bland.
Andrew ( — Google review
The most overrated popia in the world. Yes there r pork lard but only a couple. Hardly taste them. Too sweet and too soggy. The queue is long becos the guy is so slow and inefficient. He should go see the servers at crispy popia. Learn a thing or two. Now that they move in a proper shop hygiene wise shd be better Tried d new menu fishball is ok. Crispy tofu skin not crispy enough. Served cold. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH QUEUING IN THE HOT SUN!!!
Travel F — Google review
Queued for 35 mins to get 2 Popiah. Portion is larger than normal & packed with turnips & crispy pork lard. Taste is pretty subjective & I find it a little too sweet for my liking. It’s a take away counter with no seats. Hope they can speed up their process to cut down waiting time.

I order 10 spicy, 5 non spicy, 6 handmade fishball back to sg.. 🩷🩷🩷 1 more to be eaten there.. hahaa. So total of 16 popiah n 6 handmade fishball. d’LEETcious Nyonya Laksa Empire is a popular spot known for its spicy noodle soup with coconut milk and various toppings like boiled egg, fish cake slices, fried bean curd, crispy onion strips, and roasted peanuts. This eatery offers a variety of food choices including nasi lemak and fish noodles. While some find the Nyonya laksa slightly bland and suggest adding soy sauce for more flavor, others appreciate its creamy texture.
A hidden gem with the best authentic Nyonya Laksa in Melaka. The corner shop is recently renovated with air-condition. Fresh ingredients used & the taste is definitely worth the price. The toast bread is good, using their own made kaya. May need to be patient if the restaurant is full.
Victor C — Google review
Stumbled upon this place by coincidence. A small shop run by a young couple. Expected to wait for your meal as there is only 1 chef cooking. Food wise is okay. The laksa gravy was very thick, very flavourful. Nasi lemak was okay, wished for the nasi lemak to have a little more coconut milk taste. Chicken was good, tasted like Malay/indian fried chicken due to the herbs. Food is slightly pricier but would come again if I crave for laksa.
Kelly T — Google review
Definitely one of the best nyonya laksa that I’ve had in Melaka. The gravy is not too thick, the aroma is so inviting, the prawns are fresh and deveined. The portion size is perfect. Everything about the laksa is so so so good. Definitely coming again ✨
Shine D — Google review
D’LEETcious Nyonya Laksa Empire offers a delightful dining experience with its inviting ambience and friendly staff. The Nyonya laksa here is simply outstanding, made with fresh ingredients that enhance its rich flavors. The nasi sambal provides a perfect balance of spice and deliciousness, while the Nanyang kopi and white coffee are brewed to perfection, just the right amount of sweetness. For those craving something spicy and satisfying, the mee siam doesn't disappoint—it's both fiery and yummy. Don't miss out on the pandan kaya toast, a delightful treat that's as tasty as it is comforting. Overall, d’LEETcious Nyonya Laksa Empire impresses with its authentic flavors and warm hospitality, making it a must-visit for lovers of Nyonya cuisine."
Khuneswari P — Google review
Came here for the nyonya laksa and also attracted by the good Google reviews. It was a Sunday afternoon at about 1230 pm when we were the only other customers there. We were seated near the sliding front door which felt really hot in the afternoon. Unfortunately we were waiting there for a good half an hour before food was finally served. The tasty food especially the kangkung definitely compensated some of our frustration. The young cashier lady who also took our order didn't seem to be empathic about our long wait and she didn't say thank you nor offer the receipt after I made the payment which was disappointing.
Yongkang C — Google review
This is one of the best nyonya laksa ever had 😋😋😋 I visited this place to try some new local food and they had so many options. The food quality was so good and the quantity was just perfect. They have some must try dishes and the owner will make sure you are served very well. This place is really nice ambiance with Air con, so you can just come seat and enjoy the food.
Atharva W — Google review
My Malaccan nyonya laksa and mee siam fix. Bring back memories of what I ate 30-40 years ago when they don't stinge on ingredients. The laksa is flavourful esp in the later part of morning onwards. Mee siam has kuah, I describe it as being balanced delicately. Yum
Ken K — Google review
Long wait for food even though not crowded. Poor attitude from waiter, we were told some dishes we ordered could not be served due to chef not feeling it. (“看心情”) However, the biggest disappointment was finding out extra 8% cny charge after finishing our meal and paying at the counter. Waiter pointed to small written note pasted at counter 👉📝. Expensive, not worth the price, quality, portion and location. Sincerely hope they can improve given the potential. 👍

Jonker 88 is a renowned dining spot in Melaka, situated on the lively Jonker Street. It's celebrated for serving traditional Peranakan delicacies such as Nyonya Laksa and Baba Laksa, along with an assortment of cendol, including the popular durian cendol. This eatery is a favorite among locals and tourists alike who seek authentic local cuisine in a bustling historical setting.
Stopped by for a bowl of cendol after a hot day walking around jonker. Managed to snag seats right at the storefront with fans blasting on our backs. Order at the counter, ~RM7 per bowl. Each bowl that came out looked consistent. Nice cendol!
Dq — Google review
I had to deliberate a fair bit before deciding on a rating here as I had two completely different opinions on the two food items I tried here: Nyonya Asam Laksa and Baba Cendol. The Nyonya Asam Laksa was great, it was really tasty and the sourness was just nice. The standard still remained equally good compared to ten over years back when I first tried it. However, the Cendol was a huge disappointment. It had no fragrance from the coconut milk or gula melaka at all. The standard of this was a far cry from that of the past. Seats are limited so expect to queue during peak hours. Ordering and collection is done via self service. Prices are honestly quite steep for the portion and ambience here. Overall, I wouldn't make the effort to queue but I may still return for their asam laksa if there is no wait.
GG K — Google review
Taste: 3/5 (Overall rating, Chendol + Laksa) - 5/5 for Chendol itself Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Affordability: 5/5 Would I come back: Yes! It a self-service ordering system. Queue for seats and go to the counter to order & pickup your food. Probably the best Chendol I tried at Jonker Street. I tried a few places nearby(iykyk). Their gula melaka is so rich and thick and their green worms had a bite to it! The coconut milk was decent as well! Would come back and eat this again and try their Assam Laksa. I am not a fan of Laksa, to me their Laksa was too spicy, no lemak taste at all. And they did not use the thick beehoon but used thin beehoon itself, which I feel, does not go well with the Laksa. But their fried toppings were crispy and hot!
Reina T — Google review
This is one famous shop in Jonkers. No matter what time you visit, there will always be a queue. They’re know for Laksa and their Ais Kachang. Since the queue was long that day, the staff asked whether we came for Laksa or Ais. Once we said Ais, we were immediately told to go inside as we were allowed to sit on the bench. If you opted for Laksa, you will get seated at a table. Chose to get the Ais Kachang Mangga to beat the heat that day. The dish consists of shaved ice, red bean, coconut jelly, corn, some syrup, and sliced mango. It was so refreshing!! The portion was also quite hefty & can easily be shared between 2 people.
Maharani — Google review
The restaurant is always packed whenever we visit. This time, we arrived around 6 p.m. and, thankfully, there was no queue — but our laksa turned out to be the last bowl of the day. It was a memorable meal, with everything being absolutely satisfying. We’ll definitely be back for more.
Leng S — Google review
Visited Jonker 88 because Kopi Harian was closing around 5pm. The place has a charming retro vibe, with old currency notes displayed in cabinets, adding to its nostalgic feel. I ordered their cendol and asam laksa. The cendol was quite normal — gula melaka was present, but it lacked the richness of coconut milk. The asam laksa, on the other hand, is the Nyonya style rather than the Penang version. The first sip gave a bright, appetising sour kick, and the savoury-sour broth really makes you want to go in for a second mouthful. Overall, a decent stop if you’re nearby and craving something refreshing and tangy.
Chia L — Google review
Perfect environment to eat and feel the authentic of Baba Nyonya Asam Laksa Kahwin. Pretty damn good food i should say!! Worth the money. Just one thing, if they could add more fans so that we could get some breathe from the heat. Alsooo.. do not miss the taste of baba ais kacang. So good lei. Sedapp nak mampuiihhh!

Food = 2 / 3 stars Service & Ambience = 0.5 / 1 star Value = 0.5 / 1 star We came here before many years ago. A man welcomed us in, and mentioned that it's last order. According to the sign inside the shop, they are open until 6:30pm, but seems like that was extended, at least for today, or the sign was outdated. I ordered cendol (RM7), while my wife ordered asam laksa with fried fu chuk (RM15). Cendol was OK, but asam laksa not so nice. Spicy but not fragrant. The fried fu chuk was good. There is not much service to talk about, since it's mostly self-service. Place order at the counter, and bring the food to tables by ourselves too. Prices too expensive for the quality of the food presented. 3 stars.

If you're wandering through the vibrant streets of Jonker Street, make sure to stop by Ee Ji Ban Chicken Rice Ball. This delightful eatery specializes in a unique twist on traditional Hainanese cuisine, serving rice shaped into charming balls that are not only visually appealing but also practical for those on the go. The origins of this dish date back to when farmers needed a convenient way to enjoy their meals during busy workdays.
This chicken rice ball is very good. chicken is tasty and tender. We come at Monday lunch, not crowded and seat with air cooler. nice. the boss very warm, even give us a blow of fish ball soup for free. nice fish ball. strongly recommend.

We arrived at the shop lot restaurant at 1:15pm. Restaurant was still full of patrons - both outside restaurant as well as indoor. Our party of three was lucky to secure a table when the diners ahead of us just completed their meals. We knew exactly what we wanted as we read their reviews. We had their popular chicken rice balls (charged by the number of rice balls), their white and roasted chickens, oysters omelette and small plates of livers and gizzards. And our orders came with a large bowl of fish ball soup good for 3 pax. Both the poached and roasted chicken meat were rather ordinary. The much talked about were simply “mashed cooked rice” squeezed into lumps bigger than fish ball size. Interesting but not something I would repeat ordering. The oysters omelette was delicious; would be better if bigger sized oysters were used. The complimentary fish ball soup was good. The fish balls were “bouncy”.👍 Overall, we felt that prices were a little on the steep side.

Savoury chicken rice ball with steam chicken, roasted chicken rice and nyonya style side dishes. This is a Halal restaurant that located in Melaka Raya where you can see many Muslim patrons dine in. This is our first time visiting this place as we wanted to try other chicken rice ball restaurant that away from Jonker Street (avoid the jam). We ordered 1/2 steam chicken, 10 rice balls, fry baby kailan vege for 2 pax. The rice balls were fragrant enough, the chilli sauce dip was good pairing it with the smooth tender steam chicken, and surprisingly the fry baby kailan vege was delicious; and we got free fish ball soup as special loyalty gift. Overall everything are welcoming for words but I personally find the chicken portion is abit small compare to Ipoh's steam chicken.
Avelynn — Google review
Perhaps one of the best chicken rice I have ever tasted. Ever. Sadly we went here when our tummy is a bit full so we cannot fully feel the taste of this nasi ayam. Even so, the taste when our stomach is full is still damn delicious. The nasi ayam perfect 10 out of 10, got choices between steam and roasted. Both are great. One thing that caught my attention was the rice ball. I thought it was just a plain ball with rice taste but it was good. Feel like a soup in the form of rice. The portion is fair and the price is a bit high lah but deserve with the quality. The service is good, the worker is nice and the waiting time is not that long too. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. We went during weekend afternoon and there are less customers during our visit. Fast forward to 10 minutes, there are already a long queue waiting for turn. limited seating available for sure. I guess we are the lucky customers. We look through the hall and saw a lot of prominent figures and famous artists already went here.

I finally tried this place today, a spot highly recommended by locals! It wasn't crowded at all, which seems to be the case if you avoid Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The food was absolutely delicious – seriously, let the pictures do the talking! Everything I had, from the prawns, fish, and squid to their most popular dishes, was incredibly tasty. Honestly, you've just got to come and try it for yourself!

Got there around 11 am and it wasn't too busy but that didn't last long. Rice balls were very good and went well with the sambal. Ordered both the steamed and roast chicken and both were equally delicious. Overall would I would recommend stopping in and giving the place a try.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful seafood experience in Malacca, look no further than Zhong Tai Seafood Restaurant. This gem is known for its diverse menu featuring an array of seafood dishes, including the much-loved cheese prawn bee hoon that has captured the hearts of locals. What sets Zhong Tai apart is not just its delicious offerings but also the exceptional service that makes dining here a pleasure.
The Yangchow fried rice is delicious, the coffee milk is also just right, not too sweet. The musang king durian is really sweet, sticky and fragrant, the service is good, they also give free water. This place also provides tissue on the table which is quite rare to find in other restaurants.

Prawn Mee hoon was good, but the prawn was halved and too small. The Kai lan was “yellowish” think the vegetable kept too long in fridge. Ordered two coconut, one was good but the other was not fresh. Overall the area lack of tourists and the food was flow was not fast to turn over. The price was considerably acceptable at current market rates.
Uktips — Google review
This restaurant offers ample seating, and the staff are attentive. Most importantly, the food is reasonably priced. We ordered several dishes, and some stood out. The 南乳炸花肉 was delicious, and the 烧汁排骨王 had a great taste. However, a few signature dishes were disappointing. The 古早手蟹枣 felt like ordinary meatballs—dry inside and lacking anything special. The 招牌福建大面 was too watery and didn’t have much flavor. The 虾酱炸鸡块 lacked the distinct shrimp paste taste, making it feel like just another deep-fried chicken dish. If you’re looking for a simple meal that won’t hurt your wallet, this place is fine. But if you’re expecting standout signature dishes, it might fall short.

Visited Zhong Tai Seafood Restaurant in Melaka for a simple dinner with my mum. We kept things light, ordering the fried bee hoon with seafood and a plate of stir-fried vegetables. The food came out quickly and was decent overall, though both dishes leaned a little too salty for our taste. We chose to sit outdoors, which gave the whole experience a very local, no-frills charm. The open-air setting with plastic tables and chairs, coupled with the casual ambience of the neighborhood, added to the authenticity of the place. If you’re looking for a laid-back spot to enjoy unfussy Chinese-style seafood dishes and don’t mind a bit of saltiness, Zhong Tai makes for a convenient stop.

Had dinner at this restoran as we had previously ate here before few years back. Cheese prawn bee hoon: Really flavourful and wife still likes it even after all these years. A must to try! Sin Chew Bee Hoon: The bee hoon they used is very thin almost like tang hoon texture. Nice and flavourful. Salted fish fried tau ghey: Simple dish which my mum ordered, ok to eat. Pineapple fried rice: The curry they used was quite heavy flavoured, might have been abit overpowering for kids. Hotplate beancurd with minced chicken: Standard dish to order but i think there is quite a heavy stink due to some seafood being used, ok to have. Horlicks prawn ball: The prawns are fried to crisp and can be consumed whole. The horlick taste was not overly strong, would be nice if it was with salted egg. Will be back again in the future if we were to be back to stay. Lazy to queue for the other famous restoran nearby...

we chanced upon this place several years back when we didn't wanna join the ridiculous long queue at the more "original" place nearby. & boy was it a pleasant surprise! the cheesy prawn beehoon is just as tasty, & with much better service attitude too! this time round with more friends we were able to try out other dishes.. in love with their 桂花鱼 & 黄酒鸡! 😋

Baba Low’s @ Tranquerah is a hidden gem that offers authentic Baba Nyonya cuisine in Melaka. The restaurant is known for its must-try dishes such as nyonya laksa, udang masak lemak nanas, telur cincalok, and nyonya cendol.
Came here for a quick laksa and pai tee for the rain, totally worth the stop. The laksa was very flavourful and aromatic idk why alot people have been complaining? But tbh it's still way better then many restaurants across melaka. As a local this place never disappoints and its worth a visit if you're in melaka.

Cendol- ice melt within the minute mark and turn to a brown desert soup with burnt sugar melaka. Tau Kwan- burnt charcoal smell. Like a smelly tofu with watery red sauce. Nyonya Laksa- Serve hot and that’s about it.
H Y — Google review
When you see only foreign workers handle the “restaurant” you can tell about the quality. Food are disappointing as in Nyonya heritage. Curry laksa taste like normal soup added Smokey sambal, did not taste any fresh santan in it too. Cendol can taste gula Melaka, but not much condiments only those green chewy thing inside. Know this place operates for years but foods are getting worst. This will be the last visit from us.
Godis C — Google review
Many websites recommended this place for nonya laksa but honestly me being an honest reviewer, this place does not deserve much credits. Laksa was so and so and I had to pay 8.50 for it. You can add on coffee for 1.50 only if you order one of the few items but that didn’t taste good as well as I am a true coffee lover.

I've been coming here reliably for breakfast during Malacca trips spanning 15+ years. What I found on this Saturday morning, arriving before 8 am, was unrecognizable: no cars where parking was always scarce (Alarming sign #1). An empty dining area, something I'd never witnessed at that hour (Alarming sign #2). Just one other table joining me, instead of the usual rapid crowd (Alarming sign #3). Adding to the concern, foreign workers were running the place, replacing the long-standing local team – a change reviewers link to diminished quality. The photo is what food remains! Really bad.. ! Heartbreakingly, another cherished food haunt is gone. I won't be back

Food here really shiok! The nyonya laksa so lemak and fragrant, every bite full of flavour. The mee Siam basah got that nice balance of sweet and sour, super appetizing. Nestled along the stunning Klebang Beach, known for its soft white sands and swaying palm trees, lies the iconic Klebang Original Coconut Shake stall. This beloved spot is a must-visit for anyone craving a refreshing treat. The signature coconut shake is a delightful blend of freshly extracted coconut water, rich coconut milk, shaved ice, and topped with creamy vanilla ice cream—perfect for cooling off in the tropical heat.
An absolute must-stop in Melaka! Klebang Original Coconut Shake lives up to the hype — refreshing, creamy, and perfectly balanced with coconut bits and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s the perfect way to cool down on a hot day. The drive-thru takeout service is super convenient, especially when it gets crowded (which it often does!). Everything moves efficiently, and you can grab your shake without having long queue and waiting. Fast, tasty, and satisfying — no wonder it’s become a local icon!

I recommend visiting on a weekday to avoid the crowds.

I tried the coconut shake here, but it was quite disappointing. The drink was just average and didn’t have the rich coconut taste I expected. It tasted more like ice and milk than real coconut. Hopefully, they can improve the flavor and make it more refreshing next time.

Overall experience is good, the coconut shake is good. Suggest to seat in as plenty of seats but no conditioning! For takeaways at the outside booth, you may wait for some time as there are cars mad motorcycles parked alongside it, waiting to get their drinks to-go. The standard one is just coconut water mixed together with vanilla ice cream. The special comes with an extra vanilla ice cream scoop on top of the mixed drink. Creamy, fragrant and refreshing, a Coconut Shake Regular has minimal price difference for dine-in, and takeaway) will definitely wash away all infamous sweltering Malacca heat.

Came here with our family. The coconut shake and coconut juice was refreshing and nice- but nothing really much special, though still nice to have for a break from this hot weather. But, their Ondeh ondeh was really delicious and probably the BEST I've tried in Melaka so far. Their chicken nuggets also tastes really nice. Didn't manage to try their meals though. Place is really popular so expect a long queu. Dining area is quite huge so not much of an issue. Take note that they accept Cash ONLY.

This branch is the best for me. I personally want to called out this lady who serve us too good>> Xin Yee. She introduced us with a good smile & professionally explain the latest promotion to us. Good service makes the food taste better.

Thank you to my friends for celebrating my birthday in Malacca! I didn’t expect the service staff here to be so attentive and caring. Not only did five of them come together to sing me a birthday song, but even a new staff member came over and asked if I wanted my prawns peeled—he noticed I had set them aside and helped me with it. As for the food, we ordered their special satay hotpot, which felt quite fresh and unique—definitely one of their highlights! For my manicure, I really liked Miss Yang who helped me pick a color that suited me so well. It turned out beautiful! She was also gentle and attentive, and chatting with her was so comfortable. Feeling grateful—it was such a happy experience! 🌸

Haidilao Melaka Review: A One-of-a-Kind Hot Pot Experience with Satay Celup Magic! Haidilao’s Melaka branch has truly outdone itself by blending its legendary hot pot expertise with a local twist you won’t find anywhere else in the world: the exclusive Satay Celup broth! As a fan of both Haidilao’s impeccable service and Melaka’s iconic flavors, this fusion felt like a match made in culinary heaven. The Star: Satay Celup Broth 🌟 This broth is a game-changer. Rich, nutty, and infused with the bold spices of traditional Melakan satay celup, it’s a decadent departure from Haidilao’s classic broths. The server proudly shared that this branch is the only one globally to offer this creation—a bragging right for Melaka! The broth’s creamy peanut base, layered with lemongrass and chili, adds a nostalgic yet inventive flair to the hot pot experience. Dip fresh ingredients into this pot of gold, and you’ll understand why it’s a must-try. Service & Ambiance: Haidilao’s Signature Warmth 🔥 True to the brand’s reputation, service here is top-tier. Staff were attentive, quick to refill drinks, and even explained the Satay Celup broth’s origins with enthusiasm. The lively yet cozy atmosphere—complete with Haidilao’s signature noodle dances—kept the mood upbeat. Freshness Reigns Supreme 🥬🍤 Ingredients were pristine, as expected. From tender slices of marbled beef to bouncy seafood and crisp veggies, everything shone in the Satay Celup broth. The broth’s robustness paired beautifully with milder items like tofu and mushrooms, while fatty meats soaked up the flavor like a dream. Final Thoughts: Haidilao Melaka isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience that celebrates innovation while honoring local heritage. Whether you’re a hot pot loyalist or a satay celup enthusiast, this branch offers something extraordinary. Don’t miss the chance to taste the world’s only Haidilao Satay Celup broth!

Big thanks to our awesome server 洪欣怡 (Hong Xinyi )at Haidilao! Not only did she provide amazing service, but she also told us about the student discount on this month. Great food, great vibes, and now our wallets are happy too!

A very kids-friendly restaurant ,the little ones can eat first and then enjoy themselves in the playroom, while adults can dine slowly and relax. We were served by Pei Jin, who was very friendly and attentive. Great service overall! My kids were really happy and had a wonderful time celebrating their birthday dinner here.

I recently visited Haidilao Hotpot at Dataran Pahlawan, Melaka. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. The staff welcomed us warmly and even offered free snacks and drinks while we waited. Their service was very polite and attentive, making us feel comfortable throughout our visit. We ordered using an iPad, and the staff recommended the Mala and Tomato soups, which were both flavorful and delicious. The handmade noodles were fresh, and the noodle performance was fun to watch! The restaurant was clean and cozy, and even though it was busy, the staff handled everything efficiently. The price is slightly higher than usual, but the great service and food quality make it worth it. I would definitely recommend Haidilao to everyone who loves hotpot!

Chinese noodle restaurant
Oriental Cafe is a small coffee shop that has preserved its traditional Kopitiam ambiance, featuring tiled flooring and half-tiled walls. The locals highly recommend trying the popiah and fishball noodles, also known as Hee Kiaw Mee, available in soup or soy-based sauce with various noodle options like kuey teow, bee hoon, or yellow noodles.
Every state in Malaysia has its own variant of Chinese dry/soup noodle, and the definitive one in Malacca has to be yee kiaw. It's really hard to point a finger at the greatest-influencing ingredient of yee kiaw's soup or sauce base, though if pressed, I will have to say it is more fishy than meaty, with a really mild hint of vinegary sourness. Even the chilli sauce is hot and sour, without any hint of sweetness. Being a Malacca boy, visiting my homestate again only once a year or so, I feel a great compunction to tuck in because I feel the Malacca version of soup/dry noodles is truly unique; can't find the same flavour anywhere else in Malaysia. This old shop still carries the decades-old flavours, and I liberally splash the chilli sauce onto my bowl (pic), though not everyone does it that way.

It is not easy to park your car over here before going into this hidden traditional Chinese coffee shop. Can see six to seven tables seated with local customers early morning around 7am. There are 2 food stalls, one with the fish ball noodles, the other is the pork lard popiah. Ordered fish ball noodle, Popiah and a cup of tea. Popiah is normal and so simple so good. Fish noodles is firm and rich with source flavours. Both foods work well together and made my day. Well do come over for those looking for simple and early breakfast.
Sheah W — Google review
Popiah and fish paste noodles are famous local delicacies here. It is hard to grab an empty seat early in the morning. Kue Tiau is a must try. The size of it is small. The texture is just super smooth and not salty. Char Siew is full of aromatic chacoal smell. Fish paste and beancurd are served in thick version. Traditional coffee shop is spacious yet looks bright and clean. Off on every Monday and Tuesday.
SY — Google review
came here after seeing the Google reviews, but was disappointed. The fishball wasn’t fresh, the noodles were undercooked, and the sauce was quite ordinary. Tried the popiah as well — it was average, but the skin was too thick, which really affected the overall taste.
Bestfoody — Google review
Access car parking behind the stall from jln Laksmana 11 on Waze or Google map.... you will park on the "centre courtyard" of a Chinese neighbourhood surrounded by houses. Picture of kopitiam backdoor in pic attached There is 2 stalls here. 1) Fish skin dumpling noodles 2) Poh pian stall The fish dumpling noodles are EXCELLENT. Old fashion tasting, simple and clean. Soup is tasty and clean tasting. Many locals opt for the dry version. But would encourage to have the beehoon soup *tip-ordersmall bowl & add extra ingredients* for less carbs and more goodness! The poh pian here is different from what you would get in Singapore. Old style, simple homemade. You will have fried eggs, pork lard pcs for the crunch👍🏻 And Prawn Paste!🤗(aka hay-ko). Ask for slight spicy to alleviate the taste It is also a nice dish to be shared among friends as appetiser before noodles come.
Lambmonade — Google review
First time visit here for Fishball noodles and popiah, the portions is big and affordable price. Small one Rm7 and big one RM8. The popiah one is RM5. The parking must go from behind of shop since their shop at main road side.

A Simple Breakfast, A Quiet Reminder Some mornings feed more than hunger. . *Oriental* is one of the oldest kopitiams in Malacca. We locals go there not just for the food — but for the memories it holds. . That morning, we ordered two bowls of noodles — one dried, one kuey teow soup. Two rolls of popiah. Some drinks. The kind of order that feels ordinary — until it isn’t. . I asked my brother, “Why two popiah? We can barely finish one.” He grinned and said, “The hawker barely earns much. Might as well order more.” . Of course, it came with a price. We struggled to finish everything. Three of us, full to the brim — both stomach and heart. 。 The noodles no longer taste like childhood, but they’re still good. The popiah, though, is generous and fairly priced. . Then came a small moment that stayed with me. When we asked for a glass of plain water (60cents) for our father, the kopitiam owner paused — then reached for the leftover coins (30cents) on our table. “That’s enough,” he said gently, when he realized it was for our dad. . It felt odd at first. But then, warm. Like the universe had noticed our small act, and decided to return it in the same quiet language. . To my future self: Keep giving, even when no one is watching. . To you: When was the last time kindness caught you off guard? . . JSE@20251101

The hosts are the absolute best. They were very friendly and welcoming, helped me plan my trip, provided me with very tasty food and even gave me plenty of snacks for my journey. The room was very comfortable, everything (the bathroom, air conditioning, etc.) worked perfectly, it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I will definitely be back!

Beautiful guesthouse. Very clean and arty place. I was a bit skeptical about the shared bathrooms but it was kept spic and span by the owners. Everything was well maintained and super clean. Rooms are a bit small though good for backpackers. The owners (husband and wife) are very friendly and guide well. The lady made the best cake for breakfast. Lovely couple and lovely place. She even packed us some cake to take home. The hand painted walls are very beautiful and make one feel touristy right inside the room.
Himashree B — Google review
The hosts are super amazing and very helpful. Everything is clean and the rooms are cozy. And an insider for all the veggie fans: there are two great all vegetarian restaurants nearby.
Jo W — Google review
The owners are extremely friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay in their guesthouse and Melaka. They even gave me some fresh banana cake to take with me for my trip back to KL! The guesthouse is very well located just a few minutes away from the historical town center. The room was basic, but big and clean. The bed was very comfortable as well. If I have to be picky, the furniture in the room was very basic and dated, but that is just part of the charm. Breakfast was served in the common area and there was plenty to choose from. All of this for a very reasonable price. Would definitely stay again.

Great stay, and the host is awesome, he was very helpful and a joy to talk to

This guesthouse gives you a feel that you stay in a little Melaka surrounded by beautiful paintings about the city and neighboring countries. Both hosts are so kind and supportive. It looks a bit shaggy in the pics and yes, building itself is def not a new one, but it is very clean and comfortable. Quilt bedding was so soft and enabled a deep sleep. More than value for money. It was quite a memorable experience for me.

Such a fab, quirky place to stay! The most welcoming hosts ever, full of tips and travel advice and offerings of homemade banana bread 😁 Our room was great - comfy beds, good aircon and enough space. But the communal area is even better - loads of space to chill out with decent WiFi, book exchange and loads of maps/travel info. Short walk to the river and all the sights of Melaka. Highly recommended!

Food products supplier
Sim Nyonya Chang, a traditional Peranakan rice dumpling, has garnered rave reviews from satisfied customers. The dumplings are meticulously wrapped and tightly packed, retaining their triangular shape after steaming. Customers praise the generous and well-cooked filling, making it an authentic and delectable treat not to be missed. While some note that the dumplings are on the smaller side, they appreciate the ample filling and delightful taste.
Travelled to this address by grab and was greeted by MR and Mrs Sim at their home. Didn't placed orders or any appointment to buy their home made Nyonya Zhang. Anyway, Mrs Sim willing to make the Nyonya Zhangs for us and delivered to our hotel knowing we came all the way from Singapore. Many thanks to both and our sincerely blessings to them. Not to mention, the Nyonya Zhangs we brought home was super good. Thumbs Up! please note: Have to place orders before you go. Must try the Authentic Traditional Nyonya Style.

Dear Mr Sim Your nonya changs were very received by our extended family. The dumplings were well wrapped and firmly packed and tied up. After steaming up, the dumpling kept its nice triangular shape well. Sedap! ==== Phone ordered 30 changs for pick up. Everything turned out well as planned. After checking out of hotel and had breakfast, we then drove over to Sim's place at around 930am. It was an easy drive. The chang taste really great. Glad to be able share the food with the extended family this weekend. We will come back here again when we in melaka.

Authentic Nyonya chang, very delicious with generous filling, one need to make advance reservation & collect another day at their residence in Bkt Serindit. I managed to purchase 10 dumplings on the same day as I called in, super great taste & mouth watering for the Price of Rm7.50/dumpling. TQ

The dumpings are on the smaller side but the filling is generous. Tastes nice, not too sweet. RM7.50 per dumpling.

Authentic nyonya chang not to be missed, with packed filling and well-cooked pulut rice. been buying from her for years and introducing new customers every time. only order via phone. no walk-in.

Authentic nyonya chang, when you reach there, look for a house unit with "Sim" written on the gate. Mr Sim told me they are on time off for a time being, is better you call beforehand to avoid disappointment.
