My 2nd time having lunch here. For non spicy eaters, be ready to break your sweat. I came here the first time was on a weekday, there were many people. I came again on Saturday lunch time, also full house so I guess everyday also many customers. For sure, they have many dishes option to choose from, and I saw many people took the siput sedut and asam pedas - should be their must try. Overall I had a good experience here and definitely will come again if I’m in the area. Service is quite fast and price is not cheap certainly. My ayam percik itself was RM12.

Restoran Asam Pedas Selera Kampung draws a loyal crowd and looks the part—hectic, old-school, unapologetically loud. But the food? Let’s just say the asam pedas felt like it had lost its fire on the way to the table—diluted, flat, and strangely forgettable. The siput sedut saved the meal from total mediocrity, but at RM99.10, the value just didn’t match the buzz. Service was fast and efficient, no complaints there. Still, for a place built on reputation, it delivered more nostalgia than flavour. Three stars. Came curious, left underwhelmed.

I think people come because of hype ? Atmosphere is okay even though so packed with people & service i can give 5⭐️ So fast and helpful. But the food really disappointed. Most of their food tasteless. I can’t even finish my food. The only thing i can accept, their water. RM80 for 2 person huhuhu. Anyways different people, different taste bud ✌🏻

There are local Dodol and Keria Melaka in front of the restaurant. There is Also tart nyonya . Variety of asam pedas available to choose from. Restaurant is strategically located - near Hatten Hotel/ Square & surrounded by shops of local crafts & products.

First time being here and I’m so excited to try their food… expecting a long queue if you come during weekend/holiday or lunch hour probably but lucky me, just take a few second to get a spot… food was good (offer variety of dishes that you can choose from) The restaurant was a bit crowded but no worries full blast air conditioning and fan available so won’t be an issue.. Overall okay, worth to try but some of the menu’s doesn’t really hit my standards… but still okay.. (everything taste so good expect the masak lemak “not really kick or spicy enough”)

No need to question the food, both asam lemak cili padi and asam pedas is so good. 1 plate can be share with 2-3 people. Worth the price. Parking is a bit difficult especially on weekend.

So many choices of asam pedas in banda hilir. We just went to random kedai. Went there on weekdays lunch hour. Had to park infront of taming sari and cross the road. Parking infront is limited. Had to use melaka parking apps. Seat are a lot. Choices of main protein are put in small kuali and staff will reheat the lauk. They use basmathi rice. we ordered 4, telur masin, 1 pari bakar, 1 big kembung, a bowl of asam pedas telur ikan(rm20), bowl of sayur masak lemak(rm8), plate of petai bilis tempoyak, 3 teh o ais drink total up rm90. We think is okay. Satisfied with the asam pedas taste, for me i like it.

If you want to have the full menu available, better come during lunch time. We came for brunch, they serve a good portion just pitty the vegetable dishes that we ordered was far too blend.

Among all Melaka’s AP, we can say this will be the better tasting one, compared to our hometown AP, we used daun kesum, more savoury (more ingredients instead e.g. onions, assam, black pepper, tumis hingga garing etc.) and thicker gravy.. we get used to that taste and when we’ve tried this one which is without any daun kesum/ laksa leaves, it smells fishy.. don’t get us wrong their fish does not smell fishy but somehow with the missing ingredients, it felt liked it.. Long queues to be expected especially during the weekends but seating system handled well by the staffs, kudos…

We always had Asam Pedas here, used to be nice, but the last time we went here in early September 2025, the asam pedas jenahak were served cold. Apart from that the service was good.

Ordered ayam golek and nasi ayam kosong for the kids. Quite good. Ordered asam pedas pari and telur ikan but I am too used to hjh M so I still prefer hjh M version. But. The asam Pedas tetelan is super. I will stop by here for the asam Pedas tetelan if I have asam Pedas cravings. Super tender. Nasi Goreng and Mee Goreng only avail after 4pm so do be mindful of the timings !

This Asam Pedas Pak Man is one of the famous ones in Melaka, the portion is good and taste is good. Worth the money paid.

Had lunch here yesterday. The restaurant is easy to find using waze/maps. Plenty of parking. Service is super fast. The waiting time for us is 5-7 minutes only to get all ordered. For the food, the taste is acceptable. Nothing special. I didnt taste any spicy / sour from the asam pedas. Only salty. (Maybe different people different taste, and tasty / delicious is subjective) The watermelon lychee juice didnt taste good at all, no sweetness from the watermelon or lychee. Neither goes to honey lemon, i cant taste the honey & lemon. All is flat and tasteless. Like, i rather drink plain water instead of the juice. You can get few snacks, biscuit and soft ice cream (for these, cash payment is required) I think, the poster of the soft ice cream really did a good scam. The picture is just like MC Donalds’s ice cream. So i ordered in the cup. Cost is RM5. It is expensive & really make no sense when i just received a cup of ice cream & a chocolate syrup drizzle. And the soft ice cream doesnt taste any good. Will not recommend it. Overall, it is the best place for you to gather with family & friends.

Of course, here is a brief adjusted review: A decent spot for a quick meal with reasonable prices. While the Asam Pedas Ikan Kepala (fish head) is definitely worth the price, I've tasted better versions of the dish elsewhere—I found this one to be a bit bland. Service is fast, but I wasn't entirely comfortable with how the dishes were handled near the wash area.

Ordered Nasi Ikan Tenggiri Isi for dinner, it is a spicy soup with mackerel and comes together with rice and salted egg. Nice food to try while in Malacca. But I prefer not to eat that again because too much oil in the spicy soup. The place is outdoor, and during my time eating there are so many seats available, just maybe because it was on weekday.

One of the best Asam Pedas i have ever had in Malacca town.The portion is generous and the taste is absolutely delicious rich, spicy, and full of flavour. Highly recommended for Asam Pedas lovers !!

The restaurant is easy to find. The food has many foo choices other than asam pedas. So easy for kids. Service is fast nad excellent. The atmosphere is quite hot for indoor seating. It is better to sit outside. The only thing that is not satisfying is the toilet. It is so narrow and the outside water flows into the toilet floor, flooding it and wet my shoes. Please upgrade the toilet

The concentrated asam pedas broth is very good when paired with rice. U can taste the sourness and the spiciness. The fish is fresh. Order can take up to 45minutes if the crowd is full. Got booth selling pizza and aromatherapy lime and bidara oil there which i found very helpful if your company dont want to eat asam pedas, they can order pizza. And if u are tired from your day activity, u can use the aromatherapy oil. They have free tester also which u should try! The seller is very helpful and nice. Overall is 4.5/5

Food is decent and the place is very popular. I have been coming to this restaurant for many years. Although the food is decent, it isn't cheap compared to the other restaurants nearby. Service could be improved too. The owner converted the parking lot into the dining area so make sure its not raining when you intend to go.

We had tetel, pari and tengiri. Fast became our favorite asam pedas spot through out semenanjung (and we had tried a lot throughout most states). The taste was worth coming back for. The service was fast and accurate, servers was alert. They had a system where they control the seatings. Nevertheless parking was a bit tough.

Tried popia basah, nasi lemak ayam, colourful kuih muih tradisional, mee goreng. And overall taste was so-so. Pros: - spacious sitting & parking. - clean - price is affordable; rm0.50 for most of the kuih - easy access as it is located next to main road. - friendly & fast service. Cons: - there is no "kick" in sambal hijau & sambal nasi lemak. - crowded during the weekend & public holidays.

The main dishes were generally good. The Asam Pedas suited our taste well. The ayam rendam + sambal hijau was alright, though the sambal wasn’t very spicy. The keli + sambal berlado also wasn’t too spicy, we called pedas manjah. We didn’t get to try the kuih-muih as we were already full 😂 Maybe next time for a more complete review. Service, from taking orders to payment, was quite efficient. Waiting time was reasonable, around 10–15 minutes. Parking can be a bit challenging if it gets crowded.

A lot of sweet and savoury selections of kuih. Including local breakfast such as nasi lemak, roti jala and roti canai. There are ample parking at the back of shop. But as it was not properly covered so probably not ideal to park when it rains or after heavy rains. Overall the food was good.

We were looking for a place for lunch when arriving on our trip to Melaka. After searching for some places, Perhentian Kuih Kampong came out as our choice to try. This places offers an assortment of Malay Kuehs, which is rare in a single shop. We say the Kueh hit the spot quite nicely without being overly priced, not too sweet, and with the right “lemak-ness”. 😅 (but of course this depends on individual taste buds lah). We ordered the Nasi kerabu with grill chicken and Nasi ayam (chicken rice) For the Nasi kerabu, Rice and the gravy and vege condiments were nice with the right spiciness, but the chicken was a bit dry. The Chicken rice was however not quite up to the palate but “alright”. It should be juicy, and the right lack the fragrance of the “chicken rice”. In conclusion, this is a reasonably acceptable place for a good lunch with the variety of options, and can be tried out on your next visit to Melaka. Quite a few patrons were seen ordering “ikan Assam pedas”… was thinking… 🤔 is this their popular dish? 😉 Note: it’s about 15 mins drive away from the city Centre in a place called Semabok.

We went to Restoran Perhentian Kuih Kampong in Semabok, Melaka for lunch. They had lots of local dishes, including Melaka's famous Asam Pedas and Nyonya Laksa, as well as Nasi Ayam and different kinds of soup. There were many other choices too. For the three of us, the total bill was RM 33.50. We ordered Nasi Ayam, Nyonya Laksa, and a set of Keli Sambal Berlado. We found seats easily when we arrived, and there was parking available. We didn't have to wait long for our food. The taste was pretty good, maybe a 7 out of 10 for us. The place was clean, and the environment was nice. It looks like they also serve breakfast in the morning. Overall, it was a good experience!"

Variety of malay food & kuih here. Soto, lontong, nasi lemak, laksa nyonya and roti canai to name a few. Prices are affordable but you can pass on the drinks. It was too sweet despite saying kurang manis. Must try kuih keria! Recommended 😍

Delicious but Pricey The fish was incredibly fresh and the asam pedas was absolutely delicious, especially the jenahak fish head. The sides of tempeh, vegetables, sambal paru and rice were all well prepared and satisfying. However, for just one a hot tea and plain waters, total came up to RM92.90 which is quite steep for 3 pax ladies. While I truly appreciate the quality and taste, I do hope the pricing can be more reasonable.

Food = 3 / 3 stars Service & Ambience = 1 / 1 star Value = 1 / 1 star We arrived here at 4:30pm, 30 minutes before they close. They were already in the midst of cleaning up, but still very welcoming. We shared one rice and iced coffee, plus two pieces of fried chicken, brinjals, and some bok choy, along with sambal. Total RM21. Very delicious. Especially the fried chicken. Must try. 5 stars without a doubt.

Whenever I crave for delicious Malay food in Melaka, I come here to get my fix. Such is their consistency that the food has never failed me in any big way. My favourites have always been the ayam goreng berempah and kari ikan kepala. The latter comes with a fresh meaty fish head and kari to "banjir" your rice! Ikan assam pedas was a new find for me. I liked it. The ikan keli came with superhot sambal cili hijau which called for more rice. Diet is a four-letter word here and we don't count our calories here. As you tuck into your delicious dishes of multi hues, your body temperature will surely rise - from the spices in the food and overall heat from the roof. But you will feel the euphoria associated with eating the spicy food here.

Great for Malay cuisine. Do try the byriani and asam pedas tetel. Deep fried lung and tempe is crunchy good.

Good food but slightly on the pricier side compared to other eateries in Melaka. Nasi briyani with chicken was RM9 alone. Plenty of space right in front of the shop to park your car. Long tables with many seats available, suitable for big groups to dine in. During RMCO period, diners aren’t allowed to take their own dishes if they order nasi campur aka mixed rice, which I think is an excellent way to keep the food and utensils hygienic.

Been a regular there since I moved to Melaka 10 years ago. Their spread of dishes amazes everyone and one of their specialty is Nasi Berani, acar and fried chicken. Cannot go wrong.

The restaurant looks ordinary with plain decorations and interiors. Situated in shop houses with limited parking space. Food was ordinary. The asam pedas is good but the meat was rubbery. I could not eat 1/3 of the meet. The telur mayong taste was too strong and was not delicious as it was not properly cooked. Service was okay but 1/4 of the menu was not available although it was only 2.40pm when we were ordering. Food price was expensive and not worth it.

went here on 1st june 2023 so it was quite a long time, about 2 years ago and the food is really tasty. one of the best asam pedas ive eaten and price wise was affordable, couldnt remember the exact price.

Used to come here whenever we were in Melaka. Hasnt been here for almost 2 yrs and I think the taste is much more better before than now. Sekarang rasa asam pedas dia mcm too biasa…. Price wise i think is average, ordered set ikan pari, daging tetel and telur ikan tenggiri, telur dadar 1 set and 1 flavored drink. Total spent rm84. For me, the taste can be improvise. Would definitely come again to hope that they can improvise on the taste.

Choose this place because of some review, upon arrival not so many customer, we decided to try, go through menu price a bit pricey, give it a try, probably tastier as recommended, unfortunately its overrated. Asam pedas taste average, order my kids nasi goreng cina, the kids even said not taste like nasi goreng cina and a bit tasteless such a waste. I know rezeki from Allah but this is not how you should treat customer, customer deserve good food it should match the price. Even take a way charge polystyrene for RM1, at least match the price bro, it polystyrene not Pp container. Unfortunately as a customer I feel unhappy and definitely won’t repeat. May you find barokah in doing business.

This restaurant is located near the city center which quite packed with incoming tourists and local visitors. The staff was very helpful, explaining each and every section on the menu list. (And mulut manis too praising the customers 😁). The waiting time was average. The setting seemed packed with the table arrangements close to another. The foods served were boiling hot- the asam pedas! We ordered tetel and stingray. The gravy isn’t that thick but the taste is flavorful. Theres distinct taste balance of spicy element and sourness. The portion served was worth the price. To sum up, this place offered great food and table service for the customers. Great experience and recommended to those need the kick or asam pedas.

Easily accesible venue and about 6 km from the city centre. Ample parking space available beside the restaurant. Traditionally attired waiter and waitresses was a unique concept differ from any other establishments. Even the owner wear a complete traditional attire and greet customers. Food wise, everything ordered was delicious and better than most other viral establishments that i went to in Malacca. Sitting arrangement was more than adequate to cater for large crowd. Pricing was reasonable with good portions. The Asam Pedas gravy was not so spicy but delicious nevertheless. Highly recommended if you are looking for an authentic Asam Pedas Melaka meal, especially the rare but highly demanded Mayong Roe and the unique Asam Pedas Gearbox. Kudos to the owner!

Asam pedas tetel and pari is not overly spicy and sour but still taste delicious. The rice and sotong kangkung portion is quite small. The service is fast and the owner is friendly. We came around 5pm. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable

Nice place to hang out with family an friends. Lots of parking available. The asam pedas kinda different for me, i think they've over put curry paste/powder and not so spicy like other places. The best things it can be sip since it not so spicy, but a little salty.

Haven't been here for a few years already and yet the asam pedas is still as magnificent as I remembered it. Yes...this outlet is famous for its asam pedas, although other dishes like chicken rice and boiled cockles are also available. It is worth checking out this place for those who have yet to try the food here.

Love the asam pedas here. There are stalls selling otak-otak, begedil, cucur ikan bilis with spicy sambal, satays and I must say foods here are worth to taste. The lempeng kelapa is a must try.

Tried the asam pedas pari and asam pedas siakap. The siakap was flavourful and cooked just right. The pari had a slightly off taste tapi masih boleh dimakan. Appreciate the friendly and accommodating service from the staff. Even though it wasn’t quite lunchtime yet, they made the effort to serve us from the lunch menu. Great service overall for today.

We came here for Telur Ikan Mayong and we loved it.

Their chicken rice has a moderate taste. A small portion of sambal cili, not spicy. No maintenance to the shop, as some of the tiles are broken and may cause risk of injuries. Service wise is fast, qr code to order, and with robot to serve the food.

Store very dirty, went here a lot before and back then the store is not this horrible and the food also very good. Now the store looks so unattended and the food also have lost its quality. There are bugs everywhere, the wall stained, floor so dirty, even the tiles cracked here and there , very dangerous especially for kids and old people. Dumpster outside full with maggots, very unappealing. when I went there yesterday ,staff was not doing any cleaning despite not having many customer, just chilling and chatting with each other seems like they don't care about the store. Very disappointed.

I went here twice, and the experiences are great! Yes, the place itself may look mediocre but the price is affordable and the food are tasty as well. Well, for the food I would rate 4 out of 5 but overall rating deserved by this restaurant is 5 stars. Why? Because they provide so many payment options compared to others. Grabpay, boost, touchngoewallet, and so on. I love how this restaurant knows how to keep up with the trend. By the way, yes, their chicken rice tastes awesome and moist. Would come here again for tasty food that are affordable!

EPIC ! Probably the best meal I’ve had in Melaka. The food were flavour bombed and staff were friendly and very hardworking. Very impressed and contented. Definitely a place I would visit again when I’m back in Melacca :)

Today I had a simple dinner. Nasi ayam baba. Two plates of chicken. Rm 11. Food is ok. Roasted Chicken is very juicy. Pricing is cheap. But I had to fight with the flies that were trying to eat my chicken too. I would have given 9/10. But because of the flies I can only give 8/10. Worth going

It is a lovely place located at the corner lot, which makes it very visible for people travelling on the road. The interior is well maintained and very clean. The service is fast as the crowd is less during lunch hour. The food is cooked nicely and very tasty. Portions are good for eaters with good appetite. The ambience is great, and the service is prompt. Food is served relatively fast with less waiting time. The payment is cash only, which might create inconvenience for a few, especially those who usually pay by QR or cards. Parking is available and as per parking rates in the city council.

Absolutely loved the experience at this Arabic restaurant in Melaka! The food was authentic and full of rich, bold flavours — especially the mandi lamb, which was so tender and perfectly seasoned. There is few option of fish. Also a set come with white rice, boil salted egg, vegetables. They open from 11am-9pm. This is a corner shop lot. Pricing very reasonable....

My first visit having dinner during my vacation, decided to try this restaurant to try their Asam Pedas claypot. First, i would like to commend their waitress and service was excellent. The waitress girl greeted us politely and served us well. For the Asam Pedas, I tried their Daging Tetel claypot set which come with plain rice, veggies and salted egg. The dish served freshly cook and booling hot - a thumbs up. Tastewise, a bit dissappointing for me the gravy was salty for my taste, the rice was also a little bit undercook, however the veggies was delicious. Need to improve the saltiness of the gravy as the set come with salted egg so the taste was imbalance. Overall, i can recommend this underrated restaurant to try their style of Asam Pedas. This restaurant also has variantion of curry and masak lemak which I would try for my next visit.

Asam pedas pari , ayam Kari, sambal belacan, ayam kunyit. Of all dishes Kari ayam is the favorite has a touch of indian spice surprised nice nonetheless... Asam pedas is salty and sour need to eat with 🍚 End taste has ever light bitter note. Ayam kunyit nothing to shout about. Sambal belacan is 👍. We ordered fish egg fry and asam pedas claypot for 3pax. The fish fry really nice, but the asam pedas not as expected because it was salty and not pedas, then it was really not freshly cooked (. Air limau ais really good!. Abit pricey but okay

Went to the asam pedas restaurant across the street the day before (the one with a very big signage), tasted so-so. Then we went to this place to try out their asam pedas, and we’re surprised with how spectacular it tasted as compared to the one across the street. The sour-spiciness levels are well-balanced, the broth is thick & not bland at all. We also tried the daging tetel masak lemak & it also tasted good, very creamy & rich. I recommend this place to everyone’s visiting Melaka. One drawback is that they only open 3 days a week, so I suggest them to open atleast 5-6 days a week so all can experience the asam pedas goodness!

We discovered this restaurant by chance which is just behind the hotel that we were staying. Walking to the venue, we saw a big crowd and a line, eventhough it was after lunch hour, I guess it might be a good sign in regards to the food. True enough, although it was a bit of wait for the food, it did not disappoint. The assam pedas is flavoursome and finger licking. Not too spicy, so it is palatable for people who couldn't stand spiciness. The star dish was the asam pedas tetel, it is simply stupendous. The gravy tasted luxurious with a distinct taste of kerisik. A great dish and only RM8 per serving. We also ordered other dishes, but it can't compare to the assam pedas.

The wife and I had 2 sets of Adam Pedas Telur Ikan (Fish Roe Asam Pedas) supplemented with a fried fish and cold drink each, spent RM72. Worth the money, service was quick, staff were genuine and welcoming. Although my wife and I would have preferred our Asam Pedas gravy to be a little more heaty (with more freshly cracked black peppers) and loaded with Daun Kesom (Laksa Leaves) we were delighted with our meal. An added bonus was the prevailing family-restaurant ambience, which made the dining experience so much more pleasant and organic. Will come again in the future definitely!

Ok, i love their asam pedas!!!! And their sambal hijau (not sambal hijau padang style, but green chillies blended with vinegar and sugar) that goes really well with asam pedas. There is a lot of variety of lauks, they also have ikan bakar and veges. Im spoilt for choice. Try their sambal telur pecah. Simple but so delicious. The only downside is that there is very limited area to park your car.

The best asam pedas by far. Reach around 2pm just nice not too crowded. Cozy and spacious. Asam pedas is top notch and for me quite cheap. Beside asam pedas got lauk-lauk and iakan bakar n ayam bakar. Highly recommended

My friend saw good reviews regarding this place so we decided to give it a go. This is a self-service local food stall. Tried their asam pedas ikan pari, rendang ayam, ulam with sambal and kuah gulai. I personally love their asam pedas, which is their signature dish. The taste is perfectly balanced - sour, spicy and saltiness. I love the cincalok dip and sambal dip for the ulam too. Rendang was ok but a bit too sweet for my liking.

Hearty home cooked local dishes with variations of the 'asam pedas'. Prices are generally reasonable, fresh juices are cheap. Cleanliness could be better if I were to nitpick. Seems popular with the locals, always a good sign.

Mmm. The service is ok only given they use QR scan for customers to take their own order. Only service is when they bring the food to the customers. Nostalgic deco and warm atmosphere, but the seating is not comfortable. Table is too close to the cabin stool. Food - nasi lemak is ok and I quite like it. However, the chicken chop is pretty bad on the meat. It’s not fresh. The sauce is too sweet… Drink - I ordered a state coffee but the taste of it doesn’t taste too local and very thin flavour. I’ll reserve my stomach space for other restaurants that offer way better food than here.

Stumbled across this cafe late evening and thought let’s sit down for a coffee. I was shown to a table by a very polite slim handsome young man who gestured for me to use the QR thingy….as I’m not that good with these modern ways I asked if he had a normal menu and hay presto he popped one on my table. After much debate I chose a strong dark coffee K03 and gestured to him I was ready to order. He easily took my order via his hand held device and within a short while the coffee arrived. To say I absolutely love coffee would be an understatement and this one was absolutely stunning, lush strong flavours but no bitterness. I will be back for another and enjoy some food to go with it in the next few days.

What's good for dinner? This place packs some real good dishes, be it enjoyed individually or by sharing. An excellent place for a coffee break in the hot afternoon near Jonker Walk. We parked at a nearby open parking space and walked here easily. I enjoyed the cold homemade sour plum drink since I’m not into coffee and it was too hot for trying out hot chocolate myself. Family enjoyed our time relaxing here, which has a small indoor fish pond and plenty of retro kitchenware hanging on the wall. The crepe cake was fine while the waffle was small and unimpressive. Overall, a recommended cafe around Jonker area.

We dropped by this cafe for some coffee and nyonya laksa. The decor is very creative, a mix of retro and art. Chairs were comfortable and the staff were friendly and attentive. Coffee from 13 states of Malaysia are on offer. The Selangor and Kedah coffee was good as was nyonya laksa. A nice place for local coffee around Jonker Walk.

Went there during a weekday and didn’t have to wait at all. Tried their Laksa and it was good. Ordered the Kelantan coffee too and was aromatic and quite good. Our coffee and Laksa took some time to arrive though. But overall a great place for food and great ambience with antiques and old decos.

Loved the ambience of the place. It's filled with many collectable items. Rather eccentric, but I loved the vibes. Food was tasty. I loved my curry laksa. My nephew enjoyed his buttermilk chicken. The starters were awesome, too. We had the popcorn chicken and vegetable samosas. Overall, I like this place. Highly recommended.

Roti canai was soft, properly cooked and less oily. Dhal gravy prepared using charcoal stove has its own distinct unique flavour.

The food didn’t live up to the hype on social media. Service was disappointing—since it was our first visit, we weren’t aware that we needed to queue and order before getting a table. Food is good with reasonable price, since we have order earlier via phone call the restaurant able to serve our family right on time. The ambient is nice and have plenty of table that can accommodate large number of people. The Musolla (prayer room) is also available and clean, sufficient to cater about 20 males for congregational prayer at one time. The musolla have to separate area for male and female. The toilets was also available, clean and well maintained.

Have been going here since i was a kid, the food was really good back then and i do remember there was a big giant fish in the pond. The place was okay and they do provide wedding service. The quality of food is okay but the taste of ikan siakap 3 rasa was more to taste like ikan sambal cili merah and they didn't blend the biji or removed it which can cause sakit perut. udang celup tepung looked like jemput jemput. other than that everything is okay

Speaking from a last call customer The service is fast as expected for a restaurant with huge staff especially when there's only like 2 families left the night i arrived so the manpower goes into customer left at the time. They got surau/mosque, playground, and the most importantly, toilet. The food is okay for the price. worth giving this a try. I'm not a foodie myself, I just hungry and needed to eat kay :9 The decorations feels like I'm at a wedding feast by the choice of table and the overall deco. I tried the coconut shake here, but it was quite disappointing. The drink was just average and didn’t have the rich coconut taste I expected. It tasted more like ice and milk than real coconut. Hopefully, they can improve the flavor and make it more refreshing next time.

Straight to asam pedas, im sorry but theirs is nothing memorable. However i noticed that their asam pedas claypot is less oily compared to other places. The taste is so-so, i dont really taste the asam. I ordered jenahak, the fish is fine. The ladyfingers is tough and hard to chew on. The waiter and services are friendly though.

First time visit and would be last time visit this restsurant. The rice for nasi campur they serve was really low grade can see from appearance. The vegetable dish was not properly wash as I saw worm on the coliflower. They replaced the meal but the vegetable was left to other customer to take and eat. It's an okay kind of asam pedas. I've tasted tastier, spicier, but this one wasn't bad either. It's somewhat more on the masam side. Price wise I'd say reasonable considering it didn't punch a whole in my wallet. The fish used was well prepared. Sadly I only got one kacang bendi (lady's finger) and it was pretty short as well. Haha. But okay la.

visited the restaurant this past weekend.. the dishes (lauk) tasted ok, not bad.. but disappointing was that it's cold when we ate.. only the ikan pari bakar & ayam bakar were hot (probably made to order).. not sure if it's possible if we asked the server to have it reheat, or serve us the fresh one, instead of what we chose to have & took from the counter.. understand that the restaurant probably want it's customers to have our dishes served quick, but by leaving those dishes on the counter, though ready for us to grab whichever dishes we want to, it makes those dishes turns cold fast...

We came here for dinner last week. So far, food tasty and savoury, especially asam pedas and ikan bilis msk sambal. Ice lime tea, taste a bit weird, make my sister can’t drink it even a bit. Same goes to ice tea. And we also came here for a while, having durian cendol. Mentioned that durian cendol musang king, price rm20 each but why the durian itself taste not as musang king? Taste sour and bitter. And my mom saw one of your staff kept laughing at us, after our durian cendol arrived on the table. Before that, my father came back and forth, asking when will our order “siap”, if still havent doing it, then he want to cancel and go back to hotel. My mom being curious when saw your staff kept laughing at us, as she said, she worried that your staff might put something into our cendol. But i kept calm and said that dont bother him, if he did, berdosa ye, buat cust mcmtu, lagi2 pd my parent. So overall okay, speed ok, rsa mknn pun ok, cuma dua bnda ni jela yg buat tkde mood

We arrived at Melacca then went to Asam Pedas Lauk Kampung. Our Grab's driver told us that asam pedas was one of Melayu Melacca food heritage. So, let's tried! We choosed this resto because they have room with air conditioner without extra fee charge. Overall all foods and drinks we ordered were very good. Ikan bilis tumis, siput sedut and sambal mangga were favorite for us. Their teh tarik ais was also fresh and good. I recommend this resto when you have plan to visite Melacca.

We were in Melaka for two days and ended up eating here three times because my wife absolutely loved the food! Everything was delicious and freshly made. We recently dined at Asam Pedas Lauk Kampung and had an enjoyable experience. The ordering system is self-service style you choose your dishes from the display, and the staff will reheat them before serving. We tried the Janahak fish asam pedas, lemak siput sedut, daging salai masak lemak, and daging masak kicap, all paired with white rice. The standout was the asam pedas — rich, tangy, and spicy with a fresh cut of janahak fish. The lemak siput sedut was creamy and flavorful, while the daging dishes were tender and well-seasoned. The total cost came up to RM203 for 6 adults and 2 children, which we found quite reasonable given the variety and portions. Overall, it’s a great spot if you’re craving authentic kampung-style Malay dishes with bold flavours. Just note that you'll need to pick your own dishes before they’re reheated, so it feels a bit like a mix between buffet and ala carte.

One of the best Asam Pedas in town. Really enjoying this place . Daging tetel and jenahak fish is recommend eat with rice. Their cendol durian also good. Feel the creamy of coconut milk.

The assistants are very helpful and informative. The services are also fast. The food are very good and satisfying, very worth the price. There’s a lot choice of dishes as well. Definitely will repeat when we come to Melaka, and will recommend to our family and friends. Comes with somewhat low expectations after reading others reviews, however following are my review after embracing the experience myself. Going during lunch hours and ordered the following menu- Asam pedas tetel Asam pedas ikan kembung 2 sets of rice - which included stir fry bean sprouts and a spoonful of sambal belacan Iced lemon tea My review on the food: Asam pedas tetel - the gravy kind of diluted. Was expecting more sourness and could add a bit more spiciness to the gravy, and cook longer to make it thicker. However the tetel (meat) itself was surprisingly soft and perfectly cooked in the asam pedas stew. The fats and meat tendons melted easily literally in my mouth. No effort needed to chew the meat. Asam pedas ikan kembung - the gravy for this dish was thicker, has a stronger flavor and more spicy compared to asam pedas tetel. For RM 8.00 per serving, it's quite a steal. The size of fish also considerably cheap for the price being charged. Other comments - hoping for better improvement on amenities (toilet) and beverages. Please improve your beverages, as I think it is quite below the par. The rest - good enough for lunch spot.

My coworker recommended me to try one of Melaka traditional food, asam pedas. It was my first time to try the food at this local restaurant around 8p.m. for my dinner. Yes, it was good. It is a mouthwatering Melaka signature dish. The price is reasonable, the taste is soooo yummy and the portion is big. I ordered Asam Pedas Ikan Pari ( the fish price is according to their weight ) served with white rice and Iced Milk Tea. Instead of serving Asam Pedas, this premise also served a'la carte menu like nasik goreng, chicken chop, chicken pop corn and the scrumptious otak-otak. The location is easy to find, plenty of parking and not too crowded with people ( i went there on Wednesday night ). Definitely will come again with my family

Telur dadar is the last thing came out. Finish half of the food already. Super flat telur dadar pon without onion, what took you so long? Will never come again. Won't recommended to anyone. Nope...

This is one of my favourite outlet for lunch simply because there's a wide range of interesting local Malay cuisines. Furthermore, the pricing is quite reasonable, thus making this place one of the crowd's favourite. Just take your time to go through the dishes as there are quite a few on offer.
