Modern British restaurant
Ox Club is an award-winning restaurant located in Leeds city center, known for its grill cooking and elevated comfort food. The menu features a mix of à la carte, prix fixe, and brunch options with bold and creative dishes such as English asparagus with smoked lamb bacon and cornish sardines with vine leaves.
Heard about the steak and fries offer for £16 so thought we’d check it out. Steak is done perfectly to my requested liking, generous portion of chips and their in house made butter complements the meal perfectly. We also got it with peppercorn sauce which was well made and perfectly seasoned. Service is good too. First time I came for this and would come again for this deal and possibly to try other things on the menu! Very naturalistic interior and chilled atmosphere too.

Best British food I’ve ever had! I love all the sauces, seasoning was on point! Their menu changes too. Didn’t have to prebook if you come 6pm, I guess it’s early dinner, plenty seats. Great service, waiter gave good recommendations and very friendly, enjoyed our time there very much. My favourite was the ox heart with oyster sauce, it was an interesting texture that almost didn’t taste like heart (I’ve had chicken heart before) and the oyster sauce was creamy with a hint of oyster, I really enjoy the natural flavour of the ingredients, they were paired and chosen well. The mutton kofta itself was a bit tough and salty and in my opinion would’ve been better medium rare. The cherry tomatoes came with it were the best I’ve had, juicy and good balance of sweet and sour. The medium rare steak with pepper sauce was great too, we ordered fries on the side. Again the pepper sauce was excellent, it had a spicy kick to it, I’d buy all of their sauces. Steak was done well too. The basque cheesecake was ok, standard good cake, not too sweet.

Came for a special occasion, was great to go to Headrow house for some drinks before hand. Waiters gave good recommendations for food and made it feel really special. The steak and chips deal was delicious, it was clear that despite being one of the cheapest dishes this did not have an impact on the quality. Would definitely recommend.

Elevated British cuisine ⭐ The portions are not massive but the food is absolutely delicious! Such a treat. Perfect service, attentive but not overbearing. Absolutely loved it!
Aniela A — Google review
Really cool vibe in the restaurant. The menu is pretty limited and for £90 I don’t think we received enough steak for our money. The bread is insanely good and everything was tasty. Service was average and they do make a good negroni but I don’t think this warranted a £20 service charge.
Emily E — Google review
Delicious hidden gem in centre of Leeds. The service is outstanding, food is perfect, love the bbq concept. Highly recommended.
Simeon R — Google review
Not sure where this 4.7 rating came from, must be paid ads or something. The food was seriously average. I was actually shocked at how badly they managed to do the most famous Spanish dish, the padrón peppers. The skin wasn’t even cooked through, seasoning was way too salty. Took one bite and sent it back. When the waiter asked what was wrong, we told her this just isn’t how it’s supposed to be done. She shrugged and said “well, that’s padrón peppers.” We were speechless. Look, I’m no chef, but I’ve had them in Spain and this was nothing alike. As for the steak, which I assume is meant to be their signature, it wasn’t anywhere near as tender or high quality as I expected. I’ve seen their Instagram photos and I’ll give credit, whoever took those pictures is seriously talented, because the real thing is miles off. The vibe inside is decent, I’ll admit, good for a date spot, but the food was honestly poor. If you think this is the best you’ve had, maybe you just haven’t had proper food before. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that’s the truth. And when we left, not even a goodbye from the staff. Guess they just can’t handle criticism.😅 And let’s be real, if you’re charging that kind of money, the dishes need to live up to the price tag. They absolutely didn’t. Terrible experience, won’t be coming back. Oh, and to make it worse, this was me and my partner’s two-year anniversary dinner. Couldn’t have been more disappointing.

So good that we travel from our home in Leicester for Sunday roast here. Also went to the recent 10 course tasting menu, both meals were, as ever, outstanding. The service also matches the quality of the food. Cannot speak highly enough of either. Thanks to all at the Ox Club for treating us so well.

Nestled in the Meanwood area of Leeds, Myrtle Tavern is a beloved country pub just a short drive from the city center. The cozy establishment offers an array of delectable dishes including classic favorites like fish and chips, homemade Shepard's pie, and the Full Monty burger. Renowned for its eye-catching roast dinner featuring a mammoth Yorkshire pudding, this gem also boasts a large beer garden with outdoor play equipment, making it an ideal spot for families to unwind.
A very proper Sunday roast, plus table service to boot! You need reservations but definitely worth the trip! We enjoyed the Pork roast the most.

A magical evening at 📍Myrtle Tavern, our favorite pub in Leeds! From the cozy vibes to the ever-charming themes, this place never fails to enchant us. 🍺✨ Plus, how cool is it that you can personalize your own photo on a Guinness? We can’t wait to see what incredible theme they bring to life next

What an absolutely bang on place. Popped in to have Sunday roast with a friend from the area and was delighted by the friendly atmosphere. Well spaced out, cosy and intimate while also being able to accomodate a lot of people. I had the beef roast and I couldn't finish everything! Will definitely be back.
Ben S — Google review
I went for a roast dinner here and left very disappointed. Given the high prices, I expected excellent food and service, but that wasn’t the case. My roast beef was served cold and had to be sent back. While the staff replaced it within about 5 minutes, my mother was left sitting with her food going cold while we waited. For the price point, this should never have happened. When the replacement arrived, it was at least hot, but the beef was on the fatty side and not what I would call good value. What really let the experience down was the attitude: when I raised the issue, the response was dismissive — “I changed it within 5 minutes” — and there was no apology, discount, or goodwill gesture to acknowledge the inconvenience. Overall, overpriced for the quality received and disappointing customer service. I wouldn’t rush back.

Never had a bad meal here. Especially the Sunday roast. Never disappoints!! Staff are always incredible and friendly. Will always be a favourite of mine.
Laura J — Google review
A lovely pub serving excellent food. We booked in today for Sunday lunch. Food was tasty. I asked for the meat from my lunch to be served on a separate plate, server was very happy to arrange for this to be done. I’ve had to remove a star simply because when booking there is a section asking for any special requirements. I wrote down that I didn’t want to be seated near the toilets or in a draught I explained why. We were shown to our table next to an open door and near the toilets. I felt that my comments when booking were either missed or ignored. Staff whilst visiting were very attentive

We went here for a family gathering and had a really lovely Sunday dinner together. The food was cooked to a high standard – generous portions, tasty, and well presented. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly or welcoming, which made the atmosphere feel warm and relaxed. Another highlight is the spacious beer garden, perfect for enjoying a drink on sunny days and ideal if you’re visiting with family or friends. Altogether, it’s a great place to enjoy good food, friendly service, and a comfortable setting.

We arrived at a busy time with no reservation, but managed to get a table. We hadn't planned on having dinner in Leeds, we had just come to collect our son from Uni, but traffic was bad. So we googled local pub with food. What a find! The food was amazing and service fabulous. The pub is gorgeous and the team obviously love to go all our for any festivities! Inside was done out for Halloween so brilliantly I can only imagine what Xmas will be like there! The grounds are also lovely and in summer would be beautiful. I think we'll make that our regular spot for drop offs and collection over the next 4 uni years 🤣.

Pub
Located on Hunslet Road, The Adelphi is a charming Victorian tavern with striking period decor, featuring wood panels and old tiles. It offers a friendly and down-to-earth atmosphere, making it a real local pub in Leeds. The Sunday lunches here are particularly popular, serving up traditional dishes like roast chicken with pigs in blankets and slow-cooked pork belly with black pudding bon bon. In addition to meat options, there are also plenty of vegetarian and plant-based choices available.
Second time coming for Sunday Lunch- an amazing experience again. The food is well worth the money (we did the Sharer Lamb Roast Special- also comes with beef, chicken and all the trimmings £38 total). Excellent value. The atmosphere is always lovely and relaxed, the food was delicious - by big chef Jason - great chef. And the server, Blake, was lovely and friendly - extremely helpful as always 100% recommend a visit and for Sunday Dinner - brilliant.

The Adelphi Music Club is a legendary local venue that combines a laid-back pub feel with a lively music scene. With a pool table, a well-stocked bar offering a great selection of beers, and a stage that hosts fantastic live acts, it’s a must-visit for music lovers. Some events, like the Monday Musicians’ Night, are free, making it a welcoming and affordable place to enjoy Hull’s vibrant music culture.

Lovely old pub with really interesting food. I had small plate of Shin Beef Croquettes with spicy mayonnaise…. Yum!

Really great pub in Leeds. A bit of a walk from the city center to cross the river but worth it. Super rustic, cozy pub with several rooms to choose from. Impressive cask options and the usual draft choices. The food stands out here. Really diverse and high quality menu. I couldn’t decide so I ordered a trio of bar snacks. All were top notch, fresh and delicious, and came with great sauces. Although super quiet on late March afternoon on a Monday, would still recommend a visit any time!

Had the most amazing roast we have had in Leeds on Sunday - we sat upstairs and enjoyed great food, great atmosphere and fantastic service given by the lovely Beth! Will definitely be back

We came in for a Sunday roast and dare I say it was the best in Leeds? The service was quick (thanks to our curly haired waitress!), the price reasonable and the food delicious, we'll definitely be back.

Loved everything about this place. Food is incredible and food portion sizes too. Good variety on a small seasonal menu so everyone found something they really enjoyed. Service was impeccable and really friendly. Atmosphere was relaxed yet classy without being pretentious. Will definitely visit again.

I had my wedding reception here this month and it was incredible. From start to finish it was such an easy experience booking and arranging what we wanted. Nic the owner and his team are truly an incredible one and the food, drinks; ambience, and service on the day were second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. Every guest said it was one of the best weddings they’d been to and that’s because of the team here. Will recommend anyone looking to get married to use Shears Yard as you are brilliant! We will be back very regularly to eat here and will be regulars for life! Thank you for making our day magic ❤️❤️❤️

This was a great dining experience. The food is gourmet style, yet reasonably priced. The table service is excellent and the atmosphere is calm , welcoming and professional. I'd definitely eat here again as the menu has some very delicious sounding dishes.

We had an absolutely amazing night at Shears Yard last night. What a little gem this restaurant is from entering the restaurant we were made to feel very welcome from Ben and the ambiance was so nice and relaxing. We booked a tasting menu for 2 with wine pairing. We can’t recommend this enough it was absolutely delicious. The presentation and quality of the food was first class we savoured every mouthful it was absolutely delicious. We were excited for each dish that followed as Ben explained in absolute detail each course and Alex was very knowledgeable on each of the wines that paired superbly. The service received from Ben and Alex was first class it felt more like a private dining experience they were so attentive and knowledgeable. Also a big shout out to the chef and thank you for the amazing food you prepared for us. We will definitely be back and will continue to recommend this fabulous place!
Lisa B — Google review
A great experience from start to finish. We came for the tasting menu. Me and my partner have a few intolerances, but both management and the kitchen had no problems swapping stuff out for us. The food was amazing, as were the drinks pairings. The service was perfect, very casual but nothing was too much of an ask. Can’t wait to return!
Emily E — Google review
Very chilled ambiance at shears. I was suprised by the lunch menu cost 2 courses for £20 or 3 courses for £25. At that price (let's be honest was in this day and age a steal, but I was dubious). I was indeed wrong. The quality and presentation of the food was divine. We decided on trying the bread, the butter that day was mixed with timothy taylor beer. Not to my taste, but the forcaccia bread...oh my the bread. The crust was definately to my taste if you lean on the salty side of cuisine it was worth the price! The fish tasted fresh and delicate. My lamb was cooked perfectly. The kimchi potatoes were drier than expected...however, I l2t it go after the chocolate brownie. I shared this with my husband. It was rich with flavour from tart cherries to the silky ganache. I forget our waiters name, but he was chipper and friendly. Gave his opinion on some the dishes which was useful. Was definately a warm welcome coming through the door. I would love to come back for an evening meal.
Krystle — Google review
It’s hard to find a really good Sunday lunch sometimes when you are looking at new towns and cites. My grandson found this little gem for us to go out for a little meal when we visited him at his uni digs. And wow it did not fail to please. We had a starter of seared smoked salmon and then a beef or pork Sunday lunch each and they were delicious. The staff were just amazing also. The star of the day the bread and butter well we had never tasted such superb bread with butter. Its most certainly baked on prem and what a baker who makes it. You could live off it and i have added it to my to ten list of favourite foods now. I cant recall the exact details but it was black garlic with grape and a few other ingredients between the butter and bread i felt like Oliver and wanted to shout please sir could i have some more.
Paul F — Google review
Visited last night to try out the tasting menu. The place itself is lovely inside, really nice atmosphere and music. We ordered the tasting menu with the wine pairing, which was matched beautifully. We really enjoyed the food itself. However, we felt so rushed between courses. We weren't given enough time to finish our drink before our next drink and course was being given to us. I had to ask to have a break between courses because we hadn't been given one. We felt the waiting staff weren’t interested in providing an experience and didn’t give us any extra information about the tasting menu itself. It was a shame considering how much we paid for the experience. Unfortunately, I don't think I would visit again as the customer service spoiled the whole experience.

As the flagship pub of Leeds Brewery, it offers an impressive selection of their own cask ales. The picturesque courtyard provides a perfect setting for enjoying British classics from their ever-changing menu, made with high-quality Yorkshire ingredients.
A genuinely wonderful little pub. Pleasing atmosphere incredibly charming staff. Great beer well kept and expertly pulled. And frankly one of the finest Sunday roasts I've had in a pub. Great portions chock full of flavour and delicious season. Genuinely a wonderful meal. Will be back next time we're in the area

We had a great experience this evening at the Midnight Bell. We booked a table for 17:30, arrived early and our table was ready and waiting. Service was very attentive and friendly throughout. We both had fish and chips, the portions were very generous and we couldn’t finish them. At c.£45 incl soft drinks, excellent value for money.

We booked a Sunday dinner here last week. It's lovely. Our table was ready on time. We had table service for drinks and food by some lovely waiting staff. The food was beautiful. I had roast beef with some sides of cauliflower cheese, which was lush. Massive Yorkshire puddings too. Would definitely recommend and come again.

Popped here today for a few beers and a Roast beef Sunday lunch. The food was generous in size, really tasty, top notch food. Everything is locally sourced, service was excellent as was the beers.
Jason H — Google review
We arrived on a Tuesday evening. Every single table outside has empty plates and glasses on it. The 2 staff are just sat texting and clearly do not care about working. The entire time we were there not a single glass or plate was collected or even acknowledgment of customers other than when you go to the bar, and that feels like a bit much for them. Food was over a 30min wait. It was decent when it arrived but, for the abysmal and lazy service I will never return.

Came here 2 weeks ago for Sunday lunch and really enjoyed it. Returned today and not as good.My beef roast was tepid at best, can not understand why places can't serve food hot.Partner had pork,I had their crackling which was the best part of meal. Wouldn't rush back.

Best spot for Sunday lunch in leeds! The food is excellent and the staff are such a friendly bunch! When we visited there was not a single table free if you didn’t book in and for good reasons. Portions are great value for money and one of the best beef roasts I’ve ever had. My husband had the fish and chips and also said it was delicious. The midnight bell will now be a permanent fixture for our Sundays.

Really disappointing food. Lovely garden, reasonable service, food abysmal. Tepid, tasteless curry with plastic in it. Burnt burger. Greasy cauliflower wings. Nothing we had was nice. If it had nice food it would be the perfect location.
Sally B — Google review
Having been to The mustard pot before I was severely disappointed with the quality of food and service in general . This meal was meant to be present to the in-laws however after waiting 1 hour for food , the food came out lukewarm with a freezing Yorkshire pudding and one cut of meat on mine and my partners plate. Not to mention missing items from the meals no pork crackling and stuffing on any of the 4 roast meals that we had . One meal had to be sent back to be warmed up, other tables around us was facing the same issues and the table behind us having waited longer than us had to leave with no food after a horrendous wait. Despite having only 10% discount knocked off the bill , which definitely wasn’t enough after the wait and state the food came out in . We were all a bit in shock to still have to pay the amount that we did . The management of food service and delivery all round needs to be paid more attention to ! Please see photo attached !

Stopped by for a meal and some drinks on a Friday night and had a wonderful time. The food was fantastic, the staff were all lovely and attentive and we had a great evening. It definitely should be busier for a Friday night so if you’ve been wondering if you want to give it another try then you definitely should!
Sophie M — Google review
I don’t know where to start with how disappointing my experience was. First off, the food arrived cold—not just lukewarm, but properly cold. It's hard to believe they even tried to keep it at a decent temperature. Then, I specifically ordered pork crackling, which is a staple for me, and to my surprise, it was nowhere to be found. How do you mess that up? To make matters worse, it took an hour for the food to even arrive! An entire hour! And after all of that, as if I needed any more insult, they had the audacity to offer a measly 10% off. Seriously? A discount doesn't make up for terrible service, cold food, and missing key items from my order. Would never return. If I could give zero stars, I would.

First time visiting in a long while and had the pleasure of meeting the new landlady Leah, she was warm and welcoming from the get go and told us all about her new plans for the pub. Looks like a dramatic turn around from the previous landlord who was the complete opposite. Really friendly service, and much more welcoming to everyone including families like it used to be, can’t wait to see what wonderful things are to come with the new landlady and will definitely come back to visit soon!
Ciccia C — Google review
Came in today with my partner to try the Sunday dinner for the first time. We both ordered the roast beef with a side of pigs in blankets. My partner wanted to order the cauliflower cheese but was told they didn’t have any today which we were fine with until another family then ordered it 10 minutes later and we watched it being brought out. This made no sense to us and clearly showed the lack of communication between the management and staff here. When the roast first came out we thought it looked good on first glance but when ordering beef, especially at the prices they charge here, you expect it to be cooked nice but it was well done with a lot of fatty pieces. By time we made it onto the potatoes/veg they were nearly cold as the whole meal only came out luke warm and not hot. We could tell the potatoes would have been nice when they were first cooked as they were fluffy inside but the outside was hard and chewy like they had been microwaved. The service here was also just as bad as the food, with the staff just seeming like they don’t want to be there. No one came over to check everything was okay during the meal, which I think is an important part of being a server and then we waited ages for the bill even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Overall, we both wish we would’ve spent half the money and just gone to Toby carvery up the road.

Pub
Beck and Call is a family-friendly pub located off Stainbeck Road in Leeds. It is owned by the same team behind other well-known establishments in the area. The pub offers a diverse menu, including traditional pub grub as well as lighter and healthier options. There's also a kids' menu available. The spacious beer garden makes it an ideal spot for Sunday lunches, featuring classic dishes like roasted topside of beef and pork belly, with additional side options to elevate the dining experience.
So I've primarily been to The Beck and Call as an entertainer for their school holiday discos, but I have sometimes stayed and enjoyed the atmosphere and the food after dancing about for an hour and a half! The food I have had has come to me hot and tasty with a portion sometimes a bit too big so I've struggled to finish it. I often see visitors to the discos also thoroughly enjoying the food and rarely see empty plates, and even spending longer playing in the playground at the back of the pub even after I've packed up and headed home. They hold events throughout the year including New Years and Bonfire Night with fireworks which are great for all the family. You can also hold your own event there by hiring the Orangery room where they'll set up the food table for you, provide the food at the right moment in the party, and sort out their resident entertainer for you, all inclusive in the price to hire. Positives: Lots of car parking with disabled access, great selection on the menu and good clean toilet facilities. The Orangery space is suitable for parties up to 25 children. Negatives: I'd love to be able to darken or black out the Orangery for a Neon Disco but would have to be saved for the darker winter months.

Recommended by a friend. I don't normally listen. On this occasion. Glad that I did. The food was absolutely delicious. Every member of our group had a different version of the Sunday lunch and all agreed their meats were perfect. I had the vegetarian haggis which wasn't for my tastes. Too soft a texture for my palate, I prefer the crunch of a nut roast. That's just me though. Deserts were just as nice. The service was brilliant, but the food was a little slow to come out. I'm going to make an exception though as it was father's day. I will certainly be going back for Sunday lunch again. Hopefully that is enough of a seal of approval 👌 Also completely dog friendly which for our in laws is perfect.

Had a lovely meal here with the girls, we were really impressed with the food and service. Particularly the price as we had starters and were paying for the birthday girl. Very reasonable. Quite a few (admittedly well-behaved and properly supervised) toddlers and preschoolers wandering around before 7, so go later if you're the sort that's bothered by children.

The hospitality at Beck and Call is truly commendable, creating a warm and welcoming environment. It's a go-to place for those seeking not just a meal but a memorable and enjoyable dining outing.

Me and my partner came here because we needed a place for lunch! We were not disappointed. Massive beer garden in the sun, really nice interior too. Nice big beer and gin selection so what not to like there! The food was really good, I had the fish and chips and my partner got the tofish and chips, both were nice big portions and value for money. Both of us never get full but we struggled to eat all of this! Definitely be coming back soon!!

Really nice setting of a pub and very spacious. Nice selection of drinks. Food was nice but I think as we had a large order some came out a bit cold. I have now eaten a Sunday dinner here and it was fantastic. Everything cooked nicely, generous portions. We also waited a while especially to be served at the bar. Service is a problem it always takes a while to get a drink, such a big bar but they never have enough people serving so it’s always a wait to be served.

Arrived for our table booking when the pub was quiet yet it took over an hour for the food to arrive and when it did one of the mains was refunded because it was so overcooked. The bar staff, upon ordering asked how we wanted the gammon steak cooked?!?! The only saving grace was the member of staff who offered us free drinks. He was excellent. Sadly the manager gave the responsibility of our complaints to the member of staff and was nowhere to be seen. Quite unprofessional.

Nestled in a charming setting, the BlueBell Inn offers a spacious pub and garden that caters to both adults and children. Families can enjoy a delightful dining experience with an extensive menu featuring dishes for all tastes, including options for those with dietary restrictions like gluten-free meals. Guests have praised the quality of food, highlighting its great value and generous portions.
Great place, food is always great. I am Coeliac and have never had any issues despite having eaten here many times. The gluten free menu is extremely good. A full menu rather than having to decipher which items are gluten free or worse still a choice of two unappealing items. Devon served us today and was absolutely great, very caring and understanding of my requirements. Would definitely recommend the Bluebell.

Got to be honest really disappointed went in because we couldn't get a walk in at play valley Brought 3 kids with me and spent 37 pound on food my baguette and all the kids meals were extremely dry and for me were not worth the money Staff were fine no issues with them

Good choices good. I had vegetarian chili which was ok but not at all spicy. Seems understaffed. Staff are ok, friendly in general. The main problem is the state of the seating (see photos). Unacceptable levels of disrepair. No reason why turn and stained seating can’t be repaired. Did make me question the standards generally but the food was fine.

Stopped by for a midweek pick-me-up and left smiling. The atmosphere was relaxed, the drinks spot-on, and the bar staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. Kalis was especially lovely—professional, kind, and effortlessly attentive. A real credit to the team. Just what we needed to brighten the week! Highly recommend for anyone looking to recharge midweek with good vibes and great company.

We have been a few times and enjoyed it but today was too much trouble for everyone involved to say how quiet the place was ..One of the party went a head to sort the table out but no one was available so we were kept waiting..when we finally sat down had a drink and ordered our meal we had the lunch time deal, which turned out to be a snack !..It was a bank holiday and it isn't available on a bank holiday! as we found out after we had been to the till and asked for everything on the deal & paid, thinking we had been charged wrong it was explained after which was very poor (not at the time of payment)..but you are allowed to have the middle element of the Lunch time deal but not the starter or pudding..I was told 'you have to forget it's a Lunchtime deal, you are supposed to only look on one side of the deal as the other side is special ' ..no where else on the menu was smaller portions only the children's menu, So is it a deal or not a deal. The menu didn't make it clear! It was in very small print in the terms and conditions although they need updating as it didn't say you could have the middle element of the deal ..not the best experience for a bank holiday, we will have to remember to go elsewhere on a bank holiday where all deals on food & drinks are available.

Came for lunch and we had a chicken and bacon club with an extra side of sweet potatoes fries. The prices are reasonable but the portions are generous and the service was very nice. Overall a fantastic experience and will definitely come again, thank you BlueBell.

I used to love this place ask my family and friends we had parties birthday Christmas just a nice place once !!! Went in Tuesday the menu... no fish no steak no pie' had chicken was dry couldn't eat it onion rings dripping in grease just a total disaster again. No meet and greet no goodbye or thank you. Nestled in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales, The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa is an elegant country retreat that offers a blend of luxury and comfort. Guests can indulge in chic accommodations and unwind at the plush spa, making it a perfect getaway for relaxation. The hotel features a delightful bistro/bar as well as a fine-dining restaurant where culinary enthusiasts can savor seasonal tasting menus crafted from local ingredients, including those sourced from their own kitchen garden.
I luxuriated in the Sparkle spa experience which included pool, sauna & steam room, massage and lunch. It was one of the most blissful experiences I've had in ages and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff were so kind and made me feel thoroughly spoiled and the lunch was delicious, with complimentary bubbly. Special shout out to Ellie, the massage therapist, who was incredible - excellent, deep massage given with such a gentle and caring manner, I felt in the best possible hands. It was quite healing. Will definitely go again.

Beautiful, charming hotel. We stayed as part of a corporate event. The rooms were lovely and had great little touches like the tea/coffee station with home made flapjacks. We had food which was all delicious and service fantastic. The breakfast was great, all the various choices we ate as a group received great feedback. The staff were all very friendly, super helpful and made sure everything was as we needed it. The spa was nice and we had various lovely relaxing treatments. The area and grounds are beautiful, would definitely recommend getting out and exploring if you're able to. I'd absolutely recommend staying here.

Had a perfect spa day with friends. The spa is quite small, but they have made the most of what facilities they have. The addition of the bell tents is a lovely extra. The tents have bean bags, heaters, electric plugs and even a set of onesies you can use! We were determined to get a photo wearing them but ran out of time at te end of the day. Lunch is served in a picnic basket and you can choose whether to eat in your tent or in the spa lounge. Eating on the chairs and tables outside our tent wasn’t an option as it was raining. We all opted for a massage treatment as part of our package which was just lovely. The staff were amazing - really attentive and friendly. My only suggestion would be to have a better stocked bar as there were only enough bottled lagers for 1 each!

Thank you to Helen and the team at The Devonshire Arms at Bolton Abbey for making our wedding day so special! We had such an incredible day celebrating in the beautiful grounds and buildings of the hotel, and the food, drink and service was absolutely wonderful. The hotel rooms were beautifully presented, and we particularly enjoyed visiting the spa the morning after our wedding. Thank you for looking after us and our guests so well, what an incredible place to get married!

Booked well in advance as an anniversary break. If you are a retired with dogs, you are the target audience. If you want a hotel spa break where your every need is catered for, look elsewhere. If you want a great spa - then yes, the spa experiences are fantastic and well worth the trip for the day. This could be an amazing destination, country hotel a la Endsleigh house. Unfortunately, there are enough discordant notes to mean it is, at best, an entirely forgettable experience.

Whitelock's Ale House, the oldest pub in Leeds, has a rich history dating back to 1715 when it was known as The Turks Head. Acquired by the Whitelock family in the 1880s, this atmospheric establishment has been frequented by notable figures like the Duke of Kent and John Betjeman.
We were lucky, cause we had an amazing Sunday roast for dinner! (Yes, we were a bit late) The place and the food is amazing. It looks heavy but the truth is this meal is very comfortable food. I hope I will have a chance to come back soon.

Had a delicious Sunday roast at Leeds' oldest pub, first opened in 1715—over 310 years of history! The meat was tender, the roast potatoes were tasty (soaked in rich gravy), and the Yorkshire pudding was just right. A great spot for a proper traditional roast!

One of the best roasts in Leeds. Always miss the lamb but managed to snag it this time and it was spot on. Yorkies and gravy always top, as well as the pints. Had a lovely cask oat stout on. Love this pub.

We visited Whitelocks shortly after opening time (11am) just for a couple of drinks so i can't comment on the food. My friend Steven strongly recommended the Guinness and i have to say it was the best we have had in Leeds. It was rich and creamy - fantastic! The pub is superb with a lovely old style and copper topped tables. It is a very relaxing environment and the staff were friendly.

Three's A Crowd in Leeds is a modern British gastro pub that offers a relaxed dining experience with carefully curated cocktails and craft beers. The restaurant, known for its Michelin-recommended establishment in Harrogate, serves quality British food and homemade charcuterie. On Sundays from 12 to 7pm, guests can enjoy mouth-watering meals such as shoulder of Yorkshire lamb, rare breed porchetta, and native breed beef with all the trimmings.
In October we had our wedding reception at Three's a crowd Leeds. Straightway we had a great feeling about the place when we were looking for potential venues. Ahead of the big day all the staff were extremely welcoming towards us and our small children. Although we had a small wedding (20 guests) we had some quite specific requests for the day and they were really flexible with amending the menu and shaping the day around us. The wedding day went really smoothly; the food and the service was first class. This was down to great management by Scott and Darcy and plenty of reassurance from Sabrina, the events manager ahead of the day. We are looking forward to visiting again soon!

The restaurant was a bit cold and food overpriced. By the way, even if the portions were tiny, my cod cheeks was very tasty, my friend's fish and chips was tasty but very oily. We also had a bottle of red wine, the second least expensive 42£ (too much). Not for us to be honest
Luigi M — Google review
Food: went here to try the roast but was disappointed with the quality and quantity of roast sharing platter we ordered. The roasties and veg were barely roasted and the meat selection was quite tough to eat and not enough for 2 people to share sadly. Atmosphere: restaurant decor was good, gave off English bistro vibes which was pleasant Price: 25+~ which is a fair price for roasts but not for the quality and quantity of food provided in my opinion unfortunately Service: service was decent

Really great place for a chilled Sunday lunch. Interesting menu, decent wine list and portions are not tiny like some other places. Staff are very friendly and attentive too. Always enjoy visiting here

We came here after a civil ceremony in a large group of around 20 of us. The staff were friendly and attentive, with them serving drinks to all of us. The food was great, with the starters coming put promptly - the chicken lollipop tasting amazing. The fish and chips were fresh and tasted amazing. We had two issues, the first being that the timing of the food was delayed - in particular, the mains took a while to come out post starters . The second is that once seated, it felt like there were way too few waiting staff for the group size. All in all, a really lovely dining experience

Note: This review is for The Reliance, Three's a Crowd have effectively hijacked and renamed the old entry and instantly come onto the scene with a high rating, the following may not accurately reflect your experience with the new business and you should check the latest reviews. (I wish Three's a Crowd all the best, I just think they should have created a new entry) --------------------------- Incredibly friendly staff, great service and a top-notch Sunday roast. The lamb option was incredibly tasty, the nut roast packed with taste and not dry at all like some can be. Veg cooked perfectly and a good selection, optional cauliflower cheese well worth the investment. Kids enjoyed the fish and chips (chips very good!) and swapped out the peas for carrot from the roast menu. No specific kids menu but they are happy to make smaller versions of anything on the regular one. Fussy eaters might struggle with this so check in advance to prevent tears. Great selection of beers and other drinks, pleasant ambience and just an all round jolly nice place to visit. (being so close to Wen's worried me a little given their bizarre reaction to my review of the experience there but I escaped any retribution).

I recently visited this restaurant under the new owner and had a lobster feast. The lobster was impeccably cooked, and the cocktails were delightful. The starters were a bit basic, but the desserts were delicious. However, I did find the portions to be on the smaller side, and the prices were a little high. On the bright side, the customer service was excellent and quick. I also appreciated that the bar area was dog-friendly, which added a nice touch to the overall experience.

— This review is for The Reliance — First time visiting here in years. Used to come here and get the gammon, egg and chips all the time but they stopped doing it and we almost forgot about it. Went for a Sunday lunch. Inside was nice and well spaced out. 100% honest review: I got the beef roast, it was a little cold and hard to cut unfortunately, but tasted nice. The potatoes could’ve been a little softer for me, and the gravy thicker. Greens and carrot lovely. Controversially I’m not the biggest fan of Yorkshire puds, it was nice but a little over done for me personally. My other party members let me sample their lamb and pork. Lamb was the my favourite, then pork, then beef. Enjoyed with a nice bottle of red wine, and table chips which were great. We liked our chocolate pot dessert, the apple cheesecake was nice, the tart a little small. Final point: I remember when I used to visit often the fish and chips would be unavailable, this time it was again. Chicken roast option would be much appreciated. Would definitely return.

Heaney & Mill is a family-run restaurant located in Headingley, offering a casual dining experience with a diverse menu. The staff are accommodating and willing to cater to dietary restrictions, ensuring that all guests feel comfortable and welcome. Known for their famous Sunday lunches, the restaurant serves a variety of roast options accompanied by delectable sides and gravies.
We missed the breakfast menu by 20 minutes, we wanted the Trio. So I ordered the breakfast stack and the other half the Reuben sandwich. The stack was really good, breakfast with some different flavours, a little spice and jammy sweetness. The fries were crispy, excellent. The Reuben was meant to have corned beef and beef. It seemed to be just pastrami, but she enjoyed it anyway. Good food, friendly service. We made breakfast this time! They don't have eggs trio on the menu anymore but they kindly did a player for us for £17. I had the traditional, very nice.

Exceeded expectations by quite some margin! We had the BBQ scallops, tuna, BBQ sea bass and duck Rossini. Faultless. The stand out were the scallops. Amazing. The BBQ sea bass was also spectacular. Fabulous service. Cracking value at £130 for the food, a bottle of rosé and a cider. Will definitely be back soon.

One of the best Sunday lunches we’ve had. Belly pork was amazing with the cauliflower cheese. Although there was no truffle mash served which the menu said was part of the roast. Would definitely come again but…where was the truffle mash??

It's been a few months since we visited but I thought I'd better get round to posting a review as we had a very good experience. I have somewhat complicated dietary restrictions which they catered to very well, and overall the food and service was very good. The service was polite, friendly & attentive without being overbearing, and the food was really tasty, we had quite a range of dishes between 6 of us and all left satisfied! Edited to original review: we have since visited 2 more times, and I remain impressed by the quality of the food, the service, and their willingness to cater to my food intolerances.

Really good Sunday roast! Between us we had pork, lamb and beef and all were delicious and perfectly cooked, served with excellent veg, puddings and potatoes (particularly loved the addition of truffle mash!). We also had a solid Bloody Mary and great wines by the glass. Definitely in the top 3 of the many roasts we’ve sampled in Leeds

The quality of food and service is absolutely fantastic, I'm a returning customer. The sunday roast is amazing and the size of the Yorkie is huge and quite a spectacle on the plate. Their brioche buns and bagels are made in-house and are delicious! Service is always prompt and friendly, they look after you well. Group sizes of all kinds can be accommodated, booking a table ahead is recommended but not necessary. They also have a good sized function room upstairs available for hire and events.

The Whitehall Restaurant & Bar in Leeds is a casual dining venue offering a diverse menu of fish, meat dishes, pasta, and pizza alongside creative cocktails and an extensive wine selection. Renowned for its exceptional carvery, the restaurant features favorites such as roast beef, corn-fed chicken breast, pork belly, and a delectable butternut squash roast. The establishment provides an elegant brunch experience with indoor and heated al-fresco dining options.
I was fortunate to be staying nearby and was pulled in by the intriguing menu filled with delights for carnivores like myself and choices for my vegetarian wife. We were both impressed with the quality of the food and the friendliness of our servers. There was little wait for our food, but each dish was cooked to perfection. The Venison Wellington was a standout dish for me, and I found it paired quite well with a side order of scalloped potatoes. We left full, happy, and looking forward to the next visit! Thanks to all the staff!

We were a walk-in today, wanted to try their Sunday roast, pictures and reviews we read were decent. Managed to get a table but was asked if we'd mind agreeing to a limited time, which wasn't a problem. I would recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment. Service was good, very attentive, food was excellent, we had Beef and Pork, both cooked perfectly. Came with a side of cauliflower cheese and extra gravy. Portion size was enough for us, very happy with our visit.

First visit to this large restaurant on Whitehall Road; at the foot of that tower that’s had so many problems with the cladding. Now scaffolding free, it made me notice this place afresh. Inside the restaurant is bright and airy, white walls and marble floors. There’s a nice vibe in here of an evening. Chill yet traditional. You sense the meal will be good. Nice big menu with lots of choice. Pizza, pasta and steak. Also fish. Opted for the venison wellington; I love venison and it sounded like a dish that would be rich and hearty. Not wrong, a beautiful (and big) portion of perfectly pink venison in a light and flaky crust. Wow, could eat that all day. So very rich with a hearty sauce, turnip to the side. I wish more places would use game. The chef here clearly knows his meat. Excellent. The steak must be fantastic. Reasonably priced as well. The beer was Moretti; as it should be when it isn’t Peroni. Definitely recommend giving this place a try next time you’re in town. They do specials too, so a chance at finding something unexpected and intriguing on the menu. Always welcome. Two paws up. Well done.

Highly recommend this restaurant. We held my Mum's 60th here in August, everything was fantastic. Booking via phone was easy, very accommodating for a group of 14 and two high chairs, only a credit card needed to secure the booking. We had a choice of a set menu or a la carte, no ordering in advance or requirement to all eat from the same menu. Very flexible. It's rare to find a restaurant nowadays where you feel completely satisifed with everything but The Whitehall exceeded my expectations! The scallops to start were 10/10...cooked to perfection in a beautiful sauce, I could eat them every day. The pork duo main was delicious, cooked perfectly and well seasoned, good portion size with enough room for dessert. Every single person in our party said their food was fantastic. The menu has so much choice, it really was difficult to choose. The staff were all so attentive, friendly and helpful, they helped decorate the table, topped our glasses up without leaving us waiting and really couldn't have done any more for us. The wine waiter had some good suggestions too. This restaurant is perfect for a group, it's open and modern so can be noisy but it was unpretentious and classy. I wish we lived in Leeds, we would visit all the time. We had a really enjoyable experience and felt it was very reasonably priced. A must visit in Leeds.

Nestled on the banks of the River Aire and adjacent to the Leeds Liverpool canal, Kirkstall Bridge Inn is a beloved establishment in Leeds. The inn exudes old-school charm with its open fireplaces, flagstone floors, and vintage ale advertisements. Its beer garden is a major draw, offering idyllic riverside views and serving as an ideal spot to savor a pint of Kirkstall pale.
New to the area and had gone by on the bus a couple times, the beer garden always looked so inviting. So we booked in a Sunday roast - can do online or over the phone. Were originally booked in around 4, but were in the area earlier and decided to pop in and see if we could eat 2 hours earlier (annoying I know but we just wanted to see if there was space on the off chance). They were super understanding and accommodating. The food was amazing, came quickly and tasted amazing! The portions were huge!!! The staff were so lovely and attentive. Honestly couldn’t ask for more. After an amazing roast we had one more drink outside in the beer garden which was clean, beautifully put together and there were quite a few friendly dogs out there too, which is always lovely. Will be back!

Great pub, inside and out. The beer garden is the perfect place for a beer in summer. Cosy inside, with a variety of places from snugs to lively tables. The only thing that could improve it is some tweaks to the menu. If I'm honest, there's nothing I like on the menu currently. The pizza and loaded fries are both fine, but I find myself regretting trying other things.

Good lesson - if it’s not right, don’t just eat it and say nothing!! We ordered food around 3pm - and even though no one else was eating it took about 45 mins to arrive, and when it did it was cold. I had to raise this with the staff as I was not going to pay ~£18 for a cold burger. The Chef was amazing as were the front of house team. He came down to personally advise he was replacing the whole meal as the dumb waiter apparently gets stuck! So the message here is- if it’s taking longer than you think it should- ask as may be stuck between floors!!

10/10 the best roast in the world!!! Usually I'm not a fan but this was perfect. The Yorkshire pudding was more crispy instead of dense but who knew that was superior?!? Chicken was beyond amazing 😍🤤. Dessert was next level, just look at the pictures below 🔥🔥 The view of the stained glass looked angelic with the sunlight coming through 🌞🌞

First visit here this evening. Asked for a quiet table was put in a lovely wee side room . Not only was there a range of gluten free food that they specifically asked if it was for an intolerance or allergy, they were happy to customise other dishes as all made fresh. Food was amazing. Friendly helpful staff too. Only issue was we couldn't use the normally spacious car park was closed for an event and weren't aware but were able to park at a retail centre 5 mins walk away so no big disaster

Is this the best beer garden in Leeds? I'd say so! Excellent food, very good beer and friendly staff. This place is getting it bang right and hasn't priced itself out of the market for most of us whilst doing it. Well done! We will absolutely be back!

A bit on the pricier side but this place def has one of the best burgers in Leeds. Great service too.

A really lovely place to visit with the most incredible staff. Connie in particular went out of their way to make sure our (large) party was accommodated and looked after. Food was tasty and 2 options for vegans was a welcome sight. Would recommend.

One of my favorite pubs and a place I'm glad to have as my local. Great food, great drinks, great people. Love it and I strongly recommend coming here for a roast anytime you're in Leeds.

Heard great things about the Sunday roast so was excited to give it a try. Food arrived an hour after ordering which was disappointing, but was more surprised that the staff offered no explanation. Would not have been too disappointed if they would have explained they were busy or something along those lines but they just gave us our food as if it is normal to have customers wait an hour. On top of that, they added a service charge without asking after the mediocre service we received. Chicken and carrot was lovely but gravy was a bit weak and rest of roast was nothing special.

Chinese restaurant
Tattu Leeds is a stunning restaurant that pays close attention to detail, offering contemporary Chinese cuisine with a blend of traditional and modern flavors. The restaurant's design takes guests on a sensory journey from the East to the West, featuring dark woods, rich lighting, and a signature pink blossom tree. With an upcoming addition to their menu like the Char Sui Monkfish and an array of meaningful cocktails, Tattu Leeds offers a unique dining experience.
A great night out at Tattu Leeds From the moment we walked in, we were really impressed. The place looks amazing — the decoration is beautiful and the whole vibe is perfect for a nice evening out (and great for photos too!). The food was delicious, full of flavour and really well presented. But what made the whole experience even better was the service. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, and they paid attention to all the little details without being over the top. Shout out to Millie, who looked after us, she was fantastic. She knew the menu really well and took the time to explain things and make sure we felt comfortable with our choices. Really appreciated how patient and helpful she was. All in all, it was a lovely experience and definitely good value for money. Would absolutely recommend and can’t wait to go back!

I had a wonderful lunch today with my friends and everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. Our waiter Deriel was absolutely brilliant. He was friendly, attentive, and gave us great recommendations that made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for great food and outstanding hospitality. We'll definitely be coming back!

Genuinely some of the best and friendliest service I have ever had. Front of house and the bar were very welcoming. Ryan was waiting on my table and was brilliant, offering some really good recommendations as well as some general chit chat. Food was fantastic. Scallop skewers and black pepper beef fillet my highlights. I had 2 small plates, 1 main, 1 side, dining solo. Arguably did not need the side of rice.

We visited Tattu for a pre-birthday celebration thanks to a gift card from my friends, and it turned into an unforgettable dining experience. Every dish looked like a piece of art and tasted even better – from beautifully presented starters to the incredible dessert, a cake disguised as a cotton candy tree 🍰🌸. A huge shout-out to Mostafa and Omari, who were absolutely amazing throughout the evening – friendly, professional, and really made us feel special. Their service truly elevated the whole experience. Highly recommend for anyone who wants more than just dinner – this was a true culinary journey!

Absolutely delicious meal from their pre 5.30 reasonable menu with some extra dishes. Pork Belly and Scallop starters were stand out and the mains were also excellent - with duck egg fried rice, something so fairly simple but a lovely accompaniment. Denise G was our attentive waitress. A perfect birthday meal. We'll be back.

Excellent special occasion venue for our anniversary. We love Chinese and Thai food and this was of an exceptionally high quality. Service from Ryan in particular was outstanding, at the level of Michelin star with his attentiveness, description of the dishes and at all times making sure we were happy. Leave the table and the staff made sure we knew where everything was. We opted for the Signature menu which provided a brilliant selection, the duck with pancakes was incredible, the beef and salmon were perfectly cooked and the angry bird was packed with flavour, the duck fried rice was the perfect accompaniment. We will definitely return.

Great as always! There is not one thing to fault this place, steamed fish was hands down the best fish I’ve ever had! It’s also child friendly place which is a massive plus as being new parents.

Wow. I visited here with my family on a trip to Leeds and it was outstanding cuisine. We were served by a tall chap (can’t remember his name) with curtains and glasses, spoke really well, ran us through the menu and we felt well and truly looked after. He was a gem. The quality of food was just otherworldly and we all enjoyed it very much and left nothing behind. Value is also reasonable and the decor and atmosphere is beautiful. Highly recommended.

Bill's Leeds Restaurant offers a diverse dining experience with separate menus for breakfast, afternoon tea, lunch, and dinner. The contemporary European chain presents an array of comforting mains such as Buttermilk Chicken Burger and Black Gold Burger with unique ingredients like chipotle mayonnaise and black truffle fondue. The restaurant also boasts a selection of wines, beers, and classic cocktails.
We tried Bill's for the first time today. The menu had lots of interesting items. I had the crispy duck and BBQ bacon fries. Both items had a spicy kick to it which I'm not sure was necessary. We tried the bottomless pancakes - which were amazing and so filling; My favourite was the Biscoff. The bill automatically includes a service charge, but we found our servers to be very friendly and attentive, especially Kalila. We will be back again ❤️

We had a good meal here on a busy Saturday. We managed to get in for a table of four after the afternoon rush. We waited a little while for drinks to arrive, but the food came pretty quickly after that. We had a good mix of dishes between us from the crispy duck salad, pancakes, steak and eggs and a chicken burger. We all really enjoyed our food and thought the price was pretty reasonable too.

Bills Leeds. Incredible food, with large portions and great quality throughout. The menu has a vast selection of items, with something to suit everyone. I also had the tropical smoothie and the elderflower lemonade, both of which tasted great, but the portion size didn’t really reflect the price which was a little disappointing. The venue itself was very busy but had a great atmosphere. Service was fast and friendly, and payment was made even easier with the QR code system which worked seamlessly. There are also plenty of offers available online which makes it even better value. Overall, a great experience and one I’d happily recommend.

Very dimly lit, was difficult to read the menu. Had to order drinks 3 times before they arrived. Asked for ketchup never arrived. Ribs were cold and the Thai green curry had 4 tiny pieces of chicken. Burger looked like a happy meal. Staff slow yet not busy. Only positive was the beer was good

Tapas restaurant
Qubana is a spacious grill-restaurant located in the heart of Wakefield, housed in the former Barclays bank building. It offers innovative cuisine with a combination of Spanish and South American flavors, featuring tapas and small plates. The restaurant provides live entertainment, including tribute acts, adding to its vibrant atmosphere. With a focus on locally sourced ingredients, Qubana recreates the Latin flair of Cuba and Spain in its menu offerings.
Having ignored this place for a few years for no particular reason I finally gave the place a try on my latest visit home. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. In the space of a week I came here four times, for drinks and food.A Cuban themed restaurant and bar looking very smart and hitting way above anything else Wakefield has to offer. The drinks, of which I had several margaritas over the different visits, were the best in Wakefield. The food was absolutely gorgeous (great choice of varied dishes). Service was friendly, helpful and professional. Prices were very reasonable considering the quality. I imagine at peak times the place would get very busy so for meals it might be best to book in advance. They also have a terrace bar and also a private dining room in the old vault which doesn't cost any extra but booking advised. They also have live music in the evenings occasionally.I really can't fault this place, it really is one of the best restaurant/bars in Wakefield. Fourth visit... Everything still amazing apart from the margarita I had, not sure the bar person knew how to make it, another member of staff gave her a quick run through but it didn't taste the greatest and the presentation wasn't as good as previous visits. No doubt I'll be back to try again in the future. Fingers crossed. Fifth visit... Food still amazing, service still brilliant (lady with piercings, she was amazing, friendly, helpful and welcoming),the manager still makes a great margarita. Cheers.

Joined our friends for a meal and drinks in the 'Vault' in Qubana tonight to celebrate their anniversary. What a wonderful experience, and enjoyed by all. We got to be in the actual Vault as a private party. The food. The staff and the overall experience was excellent. I personally had the lamb to start. Followed by the Flat Iron steak as a main. It was absolutely perfect. Fantastic food. ALL the staff, and l mean ALL. Were fantastic. Very attentive. Very helpful. Spoke to a lady who l assume was the manager. We all passed on our delight at the food and staff. Thank you for listening. Sorry, we didn't get your name. Or the names of your staff. But you're all appreciated. Whoever cooked our food. A big thank you to you, too. It was divine. Kind regards Ian & Sarah

It was on my bucket list to visit since it opened. I had to call to book a table. During the call I stated I would need access for my walking frame and they said it would be fine. When arrived there were a few stairs up to reception and when I was being directed to my table there were a few more stairs. They could see my rollator which is my walking frame and they didn’t give me any other options. My Dad had to help me up the stairs and down again when we had finished. So whether there is any wheelchair access at all or not, I don’t know. I certainly wasn’t offered any. They also add a 10% tip to your bill, so please check for this before you pay. We hadn’t realised it until we got home but we had paid over £8 with this tip, which is more than we would tip normally. The place in general is different from the norm. It has a nice atmosphere and tasty food, but because I use a mobility aid I doubt I will be able to visit this place again because of the stairs.

Wedding party- 9th August. Finally getting around to writing our review but what a fab time we had! Everything leading up to the day was perfect, strong communication, all decisions led by us and a real excitement was shown from all the team to hold our event. Nothing was too much and we genuinely can’t thank everybody enough. We are so grateful to all the staff that were a part of our day, especially Kai, Johnny, Sophie and Louise for making it absolutely perfect. They were so professional throughout but were still so friendly and had a laugh with us all, making it feel that they genuinely cared to be a part of it. A big thank you also to the owners. Really impressive setting that contains your classic Mediterranean-inspired British restaurant... It's a really nice vibe. However, sadly, the food is less impressive. For the price you should be wowed, but the standard of the food is totally unremarkable. It's just.... Fine. What did leave an impression was the tiny portion sizes. Want to feel full? Don't order from the tapas menu. This place epitomises the jokes about "small plates" being a way of extracting every penny from you whilst ensuring you are never really full. Desserts were delicious, however. The staff are friendly but forgot items ordered and it was difficult getting the bill. All told, it promises much in a cool building with nice decor and a good menu. However, we felt the food didn't deliver and the small portion sizes, when considered alongside the cost, left us feeling hungry and in need of snacks back home - we would have run out of cash before we ran out of space for food!

Gaucho Leeds offers an exceptional bottomless brunch experience with a focus on premium cuts of meat and Argentine-inspired dishes. The Electro Brunch, priced at 45 or 55 depending on the drinks package, includes unlimited Bloody Marys, Aperol Spritzs, and more for two hours along with unlimited food. The restaurant exudes glamour and style with its luxurious decor. It serves succulent cuts of beef from Argentina and locally sourced Yorkshire produce.
Service and interior were superb. It was private, cozy and elegant. The waiter did forget a part of our order but made up for it with a free side. Cocktails (esp the kiwi one) was amazing and paired well with a meaty dish. Prawns and taco were unique and tasted great. My steak was not the temperature I had asked for but I still enjoyed the flavours although I did mix the sauce with some mayo which made it even better. Dessert was one of my favourites. The Argentinian trifle was refreshing and crunchy and the pancake was sweet. I was quite impressed and I would visit again.

A nice place if not a little bit dated decor wise … excellent service a nice not too loud atmosphere plenty of staff who weren’t intrusive definitely a good place for a celebration meal … the steaks (gaucho platter £130) were excellent although the chips were disappointing they were a standard offering the chimchurri was superb … it lost out on five stars as the puddings were grim the cookie dough was very poor and the lemon meringue was a disgrace but all in all the meal was good

We came on a Sunday and had the Sunday roast, the beef was absolutely delicious. A little bit expensive but the quality of the meat lived up to the price, and all the trimmings were likewise excellent. Tried the cheesecake for dessert which was also very tasty. Live music playing when we got there was a lovely touch. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, nice atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend for a special occasion or if you just want to treat yourself to a great meal.

Wonderful experience, a true jewel. Amazing atmosphere, great design, awesome cuisine. Our fillet stake was perfect, highlight of the night for my son, who I treated with a small celebration on his 18th. Useful to mention that he doesn’t like mashed potatoes in general but truly admired the mash served with his stake. The starters were top notch, we shared beef tartar tacos & cheese and truffle croquettes, the latter were especially delicious). Argentine prawn cocktail was pretty memorable too ) The restaurant offers a great wine list split into Argentinian and world sections. We really appreciated some Californian red (Maggio, Zinfandel 2021 was just gorgeous). Very tasty desserts: we shared a chocolate tart which was very smooth and not too sweet, the way I love it. My son was also presented a complementary birthday apple crumble which came as a true surprise - even if you love it and familiar with its taste, this version would bring you some absolutely new impressions ) Many thanks to Eiden for being so nice, professional and of a great service, especially for a perfect stake demonstration to help us make our mind and own choice of apple crumble as a birthday treat ) 10 out of 10, just loved it

**Review of Gaucho Leeds** I recently visited Gaucho Leeds for a 71st birthday celebration, and it was truly a memorable experience. The evening began with a warm greeting as we were seated in the bar area, where we enjoyed complimentary birthday bubbles. This lovely touch set the tone for the night. Our waiter was fantastic, friendly, accommodating, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. His enthusiasm made our dining experience even better. The food itself was delicious and beautifully presented, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality. What stood out most was the waiter's ability to cater to our group's specific requests. He expertly crafted drinks on the spot, including some unique options not listed on the menu, which was a hit with one of our more demanding guests who prefers blue drinks. Overall, everything was spot on, making for an amazing birthday meal. Thank you, Gaucho Leeds, for a wonderful celebration!

From the moment we stepped through the doors, I knew this was going to be a special experience. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between upscale and inviting—warm lighting, tasteful décor, and the mouthwatering aroma of steaks in the air. But what truly elevates this restaurant is the staff. Every single person, from the host to the servers and even the kitchen staff you catch glimpses of, exudes genuine warmth and professionalism. Our server, Ramon, was incredibly attentive without being intrusive and knowledgeable about the menu. You could tell the team works with passion and pride, and it made us feel like more than just customers—we felt like welcome guests. Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the steak. Perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, and so tender it practically melted in my mouth. Each bite was a reminder of why a great steak is an experience, not just a meal. The sides and sauces were equally impressive—clearly crafted with care and flavor-forward without overshadowing the main event. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply in the mood for an unforgettable dinner, this restaurant is a must-visit. With phenomenal food and a staff that makes you feel like family, it’s easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.

The Fourth Floor Brasserie and Bar at Harvey Nichols Leeds offers a perfect setting to recharge during a shopping spree. The art deco interior and rooftop views provide an elegant backdrop for a delightful dining experience. The Sunday menu features tempting options like roasted lamb rump and crab risotto, complemented by professional service. Situated within the Victoria Quarter on Briggate, the brasserie boasts stunning city views from its intimate roof terrace.
I visited Harvey Nichols in Leeds for breakfast on Monday morning at around 10:15. The restaurant had a calm, quiet atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly, creating a welcoming environment. The food did not disappoint — it arrived freshly cooked and beautifully presented. I opted for the vegetarian breakfast, which was delicious. We also enjoyed coffees and peppermint tea, both of which were excellent. Both my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would definitely recommend Harvey Nichols to anyone looking for a high-quality breakfast in a lovely setting.

It was a nice restaurant, with a good ambience. We got a seat by the window so we had a nice view over the city. It was quite busy, but the food arrived pretty quickly. We ordered the goats cheese salad with fig. It was very tasty and well presented: the cheese was creamy and flavourful; the figs were sweet and fresh; the rocket leaves were crisp and peppery; the sourdough crumb was crunchy; the caramelised onions were sweet and soft. There was a lot going on, but all the ingredients worked well to create a perfect mouthful. To drink, we ordered the cranberry mojito. It was unfortunately pretty bad, too sour to drink and not presented well. Would not recommend this drink. In total the drink and starter cost £19.50. A good restaurant to enjoy fine dining in Leeds with a decent amount of options.

Visited for cocktails with friends. Atmosphere was nice but the Winterblend Martini that two of us ordered was awful - probably the worst cocktail we've ever had. Far too much cinnamon powder on top made the drink undrinkable. Despite leaving most of the drink the waitress never asked us how the drinks were, and I'm not one to complain in a busy bar, so we paid and left (£54 for the 4 cocktails). Very disappointed - Headrow House round the corner much better at half the price.

This was an important special birthday lunch for my sister, which I’m afraid wasn’t very special, largely due to a rather clinical service, not much warmth really. We were greeted with joyless efficiency by Philip and shown to a table right next to the clatter of the kitchen. We were asked if it was acceptable or if we’d prefer elsewhere, to which we responded ‘yes, please’. Once seated, we were attended by Gavina who was rather officious and with very few, if any, pleasantries, not nice to experience on any occasion but especially so, given we were there for a birthday celebration. The pace of the service and arrival of courses was good, striking a difficult / nice balance between unhurried and slow. This was then let down by a number of small but important lapses as the meal progressed, eg, the requested wine list took too long to arrive only then to be removed by our waitress at her next visit without asking if we were finished with it (we weren’t). We opted for the 3 course menu which included a sparkling wine cocktail, however, it was completely forgotten about by our waitress. When we asked about it (by this time we had nearly finished our starter) she was completely unconcerned to the point where we were made to feel it was our fault for not mentioning it sooner. When, after a too-lengthy wait to get our server’s attention, who clearly found it more important to give priority to engaging in friendly chat with her other tables, we were asked about dessert from our three-course menu, we declined but said we would like coffee after a few minutes, please? We then had to wait half an hour before we were able to get her attention just to order our coffee !! The bill came, but hang on - wasn’t there supposed to be a nod to the pre-known birthday celebration? “Oh yes, you didn’t alert me to the card on your table about that” so - our responsibility (again) to remind them.  This, a cake, duly arrived after we’d paid the bill ... I specifically chose the Harvey Nicholls Brasserie for what should have been a lovely, easy, enjoyable celebration lunch but which turned out to be anything but - it was hard work and took the shine away from the surprise I'd planned and envisaged for my sister. Irrespective of the fact that it was a celebration lunch, the level and standard of service was poor.

What a fab little place this is! My son and I chose this place before went to a concert. Food was yummy and the service was brilliant. Good price too as we had a set menu which had lots of choice. Nice cosy atmosphere too.

Memories made on your wedding are memories to cherish forever and let me tell you, the New Conservatory Team got it right. We have chosen the New Conservatory to celebrate our wedding at and we truly couldn't have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. The staff were incredibly responsive, accommodating, and genuinely committed to making our day special. No question or request was too much trouble when planning the wedding day - they always replied promptly and went above and beyond in every way. The food was outstanding, and our guests were so well looked after throughout the entire event. We received so many compliments on the service and the quality of the menu. The venue itself was the perfect setting. Its stylish, art deco-inspired interiors fit seamlessly with our wedding theme and created such a beautiful atmosphere. We felt so well supported by the team, and we will always be grateful for the role they played in making our celebration unforgettable. Thank you to everyone at the New Conservatory—you made our day truly magical!

A Hidden Gem in Leeds – Ideal for a Relaxed Lunch Me and my partner visited The New Conservatory on a moderately warm day during a casual trip around Leeds, and we were really pleased with what we found. We were specifically looking for somewhere with outdoor seating and enough space for our 5 month old in a pram this place ticked both boxes. We arrived just as it opened at 12, and there was plenty of available seating. The outdoor area was appealing and relaxed, with a decently priced lunchtime menu. There was also an outdoor bar, which wasn’t open when we visited, possibly because it was still early or a quieter time, but it looked like it would be a great addition on a busier afternoon. Inside, the venue has a real wow factor. I genuinely didn’t realise places like this existed in Leeds. Whether it’s been recently renovated or preserved from an older style, it’s been done (or maintained) exceptionally well. It has a warm, characterful atmosphere that would be great for indoor dining, too. As for the food I had a pizza, and it was spot on. Normally, I’d add a side of chips, but on this occasion, the pizza was more than enough. My partner went for a burger and had no complaints either. Everything was cooked well and arrived quickly. The only reason it’s not a full 5-star review is the lack of table service you have to go down and order at the bar, which took a little away from the overall experience and i dont believe it has access downstairs other than the stairs i may be wrong but i didnt quite look but from what i remeber it was only stairs. Still, that wouldn’t stop us from going back. It’s definitely somewhere we’d visit again and would recommend to others looking for a laid back spot with good food and a nice atmosphere.

Visited here for the first time today with the girls and spent most of the afternoon sat outside in the sun, what a lovely experience it has been! Food and cocktails, we chose the pizza it was amazing, very authentic 🤌and drinks were very well priced. Definitely recommend the cocktails they were yummy! The team were so nice and couldn't do enough for us, very friendly and professional. Attracts a nice crowd too, we got talking to so many people. Thanks guys we will definitely be back! Wow!!! Definitely the most beautiful bar in Leeds. The food is amazing with great veggie options, service is excellent and drinks are great. Oh but the best part is the resident dog, Max, he is most wonderful. Absolutely worth a visit or to spend an evening!

Me and my partner popped in on Sunday for a drink. We were met with the loveliest welcome from all the bar staff working (Maddie, Jess and Alex). even though there was not many people in, they were so ready to create a happy joking environment- shoutout to Maddie and Alex for making me beautiful cocktails when I am aware that I can be difficult. What a brilliant way to end our night and we are already planning on coming back!!

The breakfast and lunch menus feature a variety of dishes, from sweetcorn fritters to buttermilk fried chicken burgers. With its extensive menu, including salads, sandwiches, tapas, and burgers, Cosy Club caters to various preferences.
We had tried to go here the day before but they were full up with brunch customers so we can back the next day. We were not disappointed. We did have to wait a bit and get a drink at the bar. We were seated after about 20 min and had a very pleasant server. The real highlight though was the food! It was fantastic. I was not sure what to expect, we were coming for the atmosphere so this level of service and food was a surprise. I had the fish finger sandwich and it was extremely well cooked, maybe perfectly. Good breading and even better sauce and slaw. The bun was fresh tasting and completed the sandwich.

We had such a lovely dinner at cosy club! We hadn’t booked but they found somewhere for us to sit outside immediately! I ordered a spicy coconut and pineapple margarita which did have a kick but was so good! We had the monkey bread which was 10/10 it was warm and salty and tasted amazing. My linguine was so delicious and my boyfriend’s steak was great too. Pheobe and Alice were serving us and they were so helpful and smiley it made all the difference! We will definitely be back again🍝🍸❤️

A great development of an old retail space into a bar and restaurant. Lots of decor is art deco, and the furnishings match the name, namely cosy. I didn't eat here but the menu looked really interesting. Next time. It is a nice atmosphere to chill ,relax and enjoy your tipple.

Lovely evening here. Staff couldn’t do enough for us, all really friendly, fun, and helpful. The drinks were good, but a little overpriced. The food was lovely, but the portion sizes were a little small. All in all, a nice place to visit.

I fell in love with this restaurant 😊 The atmosphere of this restaurant is unique... a combination of traditional and modern atmosphere ... Suitable for romantic dates or even group parties... the restaurant space is very large and you will have your own privacy. If you don't like the dimly lit space, be sure to choose the tables next to the window, which are brighter. The restaurant staff, including the restaurant manager, are very friendly and pleasant. ● The food took a little longer to prepare than usual so be patient if you are very hungry. ● Food was not served to everyone at the same time. ● The wrong coffee order was served, but the correct order was immediately replaced. ● I chose a new dish from the menu, the Spanish chicken, which was very tasty, but the corners of the chicken were a little over-grilled, but overall it was excellent. Unlike the above points, which can definitely be improved, I definitely recommend this restaurant... and I will definitely visit again...

Came here for some food before seeing a concert at the arena. I didn't know what to expect, but the decor of the place is very historic. Full of ancient portraits. So the food looked good. Had the buttermilk fried and chicken and beef burger. We did have to send one of the burgers back as it was a lot more under cooked than the other, and my friend doesn't like pink red meat. They were really polite though and swapped her burger. We didn't have any desserts as they didn't sound too appealing to us. They did however have a matcha martini that I had to try. Overall was a nice place. I wouldn't pick it all the time but I would come back. Staff were lovely

Visited Cosy Club in Leeds recently and had a really enjoyable time — the atmosphere was stylish and relaxed, and the food and drinks were just what we were after. But the real highlight? The staff. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. It made such a difference to the experience and gave the place a lovely, personal feel. We’ll definitely be back — great service makes all the difference, and the team here really got it right.

Taken to Cozy Club by my cubs for Father's Day and was treated to a cut glass with a miniature from Cozy Club. I had the Dirty Chicken Burger, which was delicious, followed by a very tasty Miso Custard Tart. The rest of the family had some sharing plates in beef croquettes, buttermilk chicken and mac 'n' cheese, followed by chocolate mousse and brownie. Shame the Flat White was tepid when it arrived. Great food friendly service - the staff were so nice.

Chef Jono at V&V is a stylish and celebrated fine dining restaurant in Leeds, known for its modern British tasting menus, craft cocktails, and wine selection. The restaurant offers a unique Sunday lunch experience with a changing monthly menu that presents familiar ingredients in innovative ways. Chef Jono gained fame after appearing on Masterchef: The Professionals in 2020 and is recognized for his creative and delicious dishes.
Had an absolutely incredible dining experience at Vice and Virtue last night with the kids. Chef Jono is, without a doubt, the best chef in Leeds—his creativity and attention to detail shine through in every dish. The food was nothing short of phenomenal, and the drinks pairings, including the bespoke non-alcoholic option made just for me, were out of this world. The service was impeccable—attentive, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The whole experience was elevated by the amazing atmosphere, making it the perfect place for a special night out. We had to miss a previous booking, and to my surprise, Chef Jono went out of his way to prepare some of his legendary Rhaman Broth for me to take home to my wife—a true testament to the hospitality and passion at Vice and Virtue. If you're looking for exceptional food, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and first-class service, this is the place to go. Absolutely five stars—highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our first food tasting experience at V&V. Chef Jono's food is incredible. Beautiful flavours expertly seasoned. We were looked after so well from the moment we arrived with such attentive customer service and so many wonderful flavours and textures that I kept saying ‘wow!’ We were so well looked after by the staff as well Every course was delicious and presented so perfectly. I will definitely be going back.
Craig — Google review
This was one of the most disappointing tasting menu we've experienced in UK/Europe. The dishes lacked creativity and the flavors were surprisingly bland. Overall, it felt uninspired and failed to deliver on both taste and presentation.
Angie T — Google review
Stunning experience, adapted food as much as they could for wife’s garlic intolerance. Only thing missing was able to have a jus with the Sunday dinner as that meant her Yorkshire pudding was dry. But flavour combinations, combined with high quality cooking blew our minds. The service was high class and is how hospitality should be done, just brilliant from everyone making us feel so welcome. The signed menu was a nice touch. One of the best food experiences ever

Another amazing food tasting visit to Chef Jono. Was hard to choose a favourite dish, as all delicious. Service was fantastic too. Take a very empty tummy as portions are filling. Chef and staff were very kind and let me take home some portions at the end that we couldn't fit in, so we didn't miss out. Loved the Chef take on steak pie when I got home and have just eaten the Mushroom Tiramisu for breakfast, Best breakfast I have ever had! Definitely worth booking if you enjoy tasting menus or just love food. They also do a 5 course Sunday lunch menu that we would like to try.
Mummy B — Google review
Odd one for me this. I want to preface with...my god, this man can cook. Chef Jono's food is incredible. Beautiful flavours, expertly seasoned, and served exquisitely. My issues here are the pacing and the dish choices, meaning that I currently would NOT recommend the signature tasting menu, and would instead recommend the lunch tasting menu or Sunday roast. In terms of dish choice, it was a lot of dense and rich food. The mackerel course was the only one that felt light, and there were no one-biters. Again want to state that the food quality is exceptional. The (excellent) malt loaf should have been a third of the size, and the (incredible) Not French Onion Soup almost finished us off, and that was halfway through. Adding to this, the pacing of the courses was too fast. I've never been to a full tasting menu that was done in two hours. We were almost done after one. Thankfully, service staff noticed and asked if we needed a break after the main courses. We did. We were uncomfortable. Finally, I think the decor needs a little work. We were sat with a light overhead that felt like we were in an interrogation. So bright. Really distracting, although excellent for food photos. We'd ask for a different table next time. So yeah. Can't speak highly enough of the food or the staff, but the tasting menu needs some more thought.

⭐ V&V Review ⭐ We visited V&V for our ten-year wedding anniversary, and the experience couldn’t have been more special. The team even presented us with a signed menu wishing us a happy anniversary — such a thoughtful touch that made the evening feel truly personal. The tasting menu was outstanding, with multiple layers of flavour carefully built into each dish. Standouts included the perfectly cooked seabass, a playful mushroom tiramisu, and a refined take on fish pie. The wine pairings were exceptional — clearly the result of significant effort and expertise — and enhanced every course. Staff were passionate, engaged, and genuinely engaging, bringing warmth to the sophistication of the décor and overall atmosphere. ✨ V&V delivers an exceptional balance of creativity, precision, and hospitality — a memorable place for any special occasion. ✨

A wonderful dining experience which was provided with great food, an interesting wine float and excellent service. With any premium dining the price is somewhat irrelevant, the food was well thought through and we found that the drinks package matched the flavours well. The service was great and the staff knew the flavours and could articulate and comment on their views of why the pairing complemented each dish.

Nestled next to the City Varieties theatre, The White Swan is a hidden gem in Leeds. This pub offers a wide selection of local, European, and American beers along with homemade food. It's known for its quaffable ales from Leeds Brewery and live music most nights of the week. The menu features fresh, locally sourced food made from Yorkshire Dales Meat Company supplies. Additionally, dog-friendly amenities like water bowls and gravy bones are available for furry companions.
What a lovely pub, can't believe we've not come across this place sooner. We were looking for somewhere to eat near to Leeds Grand, which offered a variety of food to suit all ages and taste. This ticked all the boxes and more. Delicious food, excellent prices and 20% off food if you're going to a show at Leeds Theatres. This will definitely be our go to place for a pre-theatre meal in future.

We have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the food. We chose the steak and ale pie, mine with mash and my partner had chips. We got one piece of parsnip and two slices of carrots. I don't really care for parsnips but with the lacking in amount of vegetables I tried to eat it. I took one bite and it wasn't cooked fully. Which is funny as one of my two carrots was burnt. The pie was frozen and obviously zapped in a microwave as it was squishy and chewy. There were no chunks of steak, it was like a pulled pork consistently. The mash was revolting, I question whether it was from a packet. The gravy used to be gorgeous as it was thick and made with real meat juices but today it was thin and watery. Clearly made with granules and they dripped dome dry herbs in it to make it look fresh. No wonder it was quiet, you used to struggle getting a seat. This place has clearly gone down and they don't have a chef anymore just someone throwing frozen stuff onto a plate. Really sorry to see the standards drop so much as we used to come here as a treat. I have some great pictures of past meals and this does not compare. No one came to ask how the meal was, they just stood chatting or on their phones behind the bar

We called in for lunch on our shopping trip to Leeds we had the steak sandwich and the fish sandwich with chips and salad , both were delicious and hot and the service was fast and efficient ,we can recommend the white swan for a lunchtime snack just away from the hustle and bustle of Leedstown Centre.also they’re very doggy friendly.

Was not a good start when staff were not aware of the booking when I had received a booking confirmation email… We were sat at a small table for three next to the disabled toilet, which was too small to dine at, so request to move to one of the other numerous tables that were reserved later in the day. Leeds Brewery Pale and Midnight were kept well but bar staff couldn’t pour cask beer properly resulting with an enormous head/less beer. Ordered two roast topside dinners. Good portion size with roast and mash potatoes plus red cabbage, leeks and carrots. Food was tasty but whole meal was lukewarm and roast potatoes were undercooked and not crispy. Barely any gravy on the plate, and request some more to be presented with a tiny jug so ordered a second plus some horseradish. Sticky toffee pudding was lovely and hot. Perfect portion size and served with a vanilla ice cream. Overall service was fine but food was disappointing and only marginally better than Spetherwoons! To be honest not worth it for £80 for two adult and one children’s meal. Would return for a pint but not Sunday lunch again.

The staff Liam and kimbo was really kind and helpful. We enjoyed every moment of it. We even got 20%off our bill as we had tickets to the city varieties afterwards. Would highly recommend this place to go. It even had a connecting door to the theatre!

Been a couple of times now in recent weeks and on both occasions the food has been amazing! I highlighly recommend paying them a visit. Kudos to the team there.

Lovely place to have a meal before a show at City Varieties. Food is traditional pub grub. It’s tasty and well cooked and usually not too long a wait. We visit here often, and have had Sunday lunch yesterday and previously booked Sunday Lunch for Father’s Day a couple of weeks ago . It was a set menu of 2 or 3 courses, and the standard of every dish was absolutely top notch. We were at Harvey Nichols for Sunday Lunch a couple of weeks ago and this was comparable if not better! The hash brown with black pudding centre, crispy bacon and veloute was absolutely delicious. The roast beef and pork were cooked to perfection, fabulous yorkshire puds and the crispiest crackling ever, and the tastiest roast potatoes we’ve had anywhere. Creamy unctuous cauliflower cheese was the perfect extra side. All piping hot and perfect sized portions. The summer berry eton mess was a perfect end to a fabulous meal. Tasted as good as it looked! Best meal we’ve had in a while, and the friendliest attentive service too from a lovely team. Compliments to the fantastic chef and thank you to the whole team for making our Father’s Day and every time we visit such a success, we’ll be back again very soon!

I have eaten here a couple of times and the food has been of a really good quality and decent sized portions. The staff are friendly and professional and always appear willing to help. However I will be back undettered

Was staying overnight in the town and came across this place on here and so thought we’d give it go, especially after reading the reviews. It did not disappoint. Was such a lovely place to go to on a Saturday summer’s evening. Great atmosphere and friendly service, which seemed to cater for everyone. No shortage of spots to sit with a good view. I opted for the burger which was really tasty whilst my partner had the vegetarian pizza, which was a bargain at £12. Would totally recommend to anyone who’s passing by, like we were.

Atmosphere nice, staff friendly and helpful but the amount of food you get for the price ( Sunday lunch) meant it was quite expensive. Mainly potatoes and more potatoes with a Yorkshire pudding, a couple of pieces of veg and alittle meat. It tasted nice but I was disappointed the amount that was on the plate for the price. It's 17.99 for 1 adult course and the price increases if you want a desert or starter. You can take dogs if you do wish which I guess is a bonus for some people

Dropped in for a couple of drinks on a Saturday afternoon and sat in the beer garden. Service at the bar was great. Polite, professional and swift. We ordered a couple of sandwiches off the menu which took around 40 minutes to be served BUT once they did arrive they were very good indeed and we're very reasonably priced too. The Farmer's Blonde beer seemed a bit sharp so I had a Neck Oil afterwards and no complaints with that. We had a very pleasant afternoon here.

Shocking! Booked for Christmas dinner for 12 of us Richard the director provisionally booked our table in, was going to email me with the finer details, menu , price etc I emailed today to chase up see when they needed deposits etc only to be told by a RUDE lady that they haven’t booked us in and can only seat us at 6pm now on Christmas Day! Making out it’s our fault not theirs ?! We don’t want Christmas dinner at 6pm. We wanted it when we booked it in! Absolutely appalling and now 12 of us don’t have anywhere to go on Christmas dinner as everywhere is booked up. The original booking was made in July!!
Hannah H — Google review
DO NOT BOOK A FUNCTION HERE! If I could give this zero stars I would. A message for the owner Richard, seen as though he cannot be bothered to respond to my email dated 8/7/25 following our wedding party 5/7/25. Hi Richard, We’re writing to express our deep disappointment following our wedding celebration at your venue on Saturday, and to raise serious concerns given the lack of communication from you since. The experience was a disorganised mess. When we arrived at 4pm as agreed with you to decorate, the chef was already starting to prepare the 35 pizzas, which were going to be brought out at 5pm… our party did not start until 6pm and we had organised with you that same week for them to come out at 7:30pm . Members of the public were sitting on the lower terrace that was supposed to be reserved for us , while the tables inside the tent were dirty and still covered in empty glasses — hardly the welcome we expected for our wedding party and these only got moved/cleaned because we went inside and asked. More upsetting, however, was the behaviour of your manager. She was extremely rude, dismissive, and made no effort to apologise or reassure us. Instead, she chose to argue with me in front of our guests and your paying customers which was both embarrassing and unprofessional. Her lack of communication skills and empathy was shocking — she acted more like a petulant teenager than someone responsible for running events at what we thought was a respectable venue. Her attitude completely overshadowed what should have been one of the happiest days of our lives. I was left in tears at my own wedding party, which is something I never imagined saying. In contrast, we want to highlight Corrie, who was outstanding. She was attentive, empathetic, and did everything in her power to salvage the situation. She is a real credit to your team and should be recognised for her professionalism and compassion. Unfortunately, the overall experience highlighted serious flaws in your setup: poor internal communication, a lack of preparation, and a general sense of disorganisation. One of your own staff members even told us they didn’t know there was a wedding party scheduled, which made us feel completely overlooked and unimportant. Just to note from the beginning Richard has been poor at responding to emails and didn’t even show up for our first look around the venue earlier this year. We gave him the benefit of the doubt with this being a new venture but we really wish we wouldn’t have bothered. We would not recommend having any sort of celebration here.

Been here a few times over the last few months for birthdays. Been served on each occasion by Michelle! What a lovely attentive women who goes out of her way to look after and speak to customers. She does a great job and makes us want to go back! Thankyou Michelle. Only thing I would add is there needs to be a better pizza selection. Eg meat fest etc not many on menu.

The Cardigan Arms, a charming Victorian pub in Burley, Leeds, was revitalized by Kirkstall Brewery in 2017. The cozy establishment offers various nooks and crannies for patrons to settle in, including dog-friendly areas. The menu features delectable options such as slow roast belly pork, beef topside, and Mushroom Wellington. On Sundays, it's the go-to destination for a delightful roast dinner.
Second stop on our Kirkstall Road pub crawl from 15/2/25. First time in what is a fairly legendary pub and has been used for filming various dramas etc over the years (which is why we wanted to come, looked ace!) Very happy with it! The décor on the atmosphere inside is EXACTLY what I like in a pub. The history of the place has not suffered much at the hands of unnecessary modernity and many period fixtures and fittings remain - it must have been quite grand in it's heyday! Beer choice was very good and I wasn't left choosing the best of a bad crop. We didn't dine but the food looked and smelled very good and appeared reasonably priced. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Could happily have stayed all afternoon/evening. If this were in the city centre it would be one of THE places to go but that said it may have been 'updated' had it been so. We will be back!

A traditional British pub with a historic decor. The staff and the food both were top notch. It was raining when I visited and the ambiance just elevated my entire experience. The price is a bit on the higher side but that’s understandable based on the quality and portion sizes. Excellent choices of beer, but again a bit heavy on the wallet. The toilets have seen better days and are in dire need of a revamp. Nevertheless, 10/10 recommended and will come back again when in Leeds.

If you ever find yourself in Leeds on a Sunday and you fancy a roast, then the Cardigan Arms is the only destination. We didn't know what to expect, so the best roast I've had in my 49 years of enjoying our national dish.blew my mind!!Like most, the No 1 (until today) was my Mum's..... Sorry Mum!!!, but everything was perfect, from how the multitude of veg was cooked, to the Porchetta and crackling, and the presentation. The sticky toffee pud was banging as well!. And to top it off it's a beautiful old traditional pub with some great traditional Ales and friendly helpful staff. A true Gem!

My daughter had a wedding party on the first floor and we reserved the bar upstairs for the exclusive use of the party where we also had an excellent good value buffet provided by the pub Staff were really really helpful, attentive and responded promptly to emails before the event The sound system which we controlled was fine, the decoration in the main room which included chandeliers , large Victorian style windows and dark painted walls helped create a brilliant atmosphere We were able to make speeches , dance , also have proper conversation Thoroughly recommend it as a venue to celebrate a special event

My favourite pub of all time, the best pub in Leeds. Gorgeous architecture inside and out, its traditional furnishings are remarkably original. A dynamic array of draught beers and ales that are regularly refreshed over the course of the year. The fact it's framed in my living room says it all.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights in a Dales room to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our room was stunning and perfectly set up for our arrival with a bottle of bubbly and a welcome card. The food is The view restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. We used the spa in the evening which was quiet and very relaxing at the times we attended. Every member of staff we encountered was professional and friendly. We will definatley book another stay in a Dale's room at the Coniston Hotel and Spa.

I had booked this hotel for one night stay to eventually going to Broughton Hall for a week. This hotel is beautiful and the grounds out of this world. Some of the staff were very accommodating, friendly and professional, but one server not so much. I felt like she was annoyed when I asked if I could get a cup of hot tea with some pastry or something light to eat because I had just flown from the States and the weather was pretty horrible (heavy rain with strong winds). She told me that the kitchen was closed and they were not serving any food at this time. However another couple walked in and requested the same thing, except they had a different server and she did serve them hot tea and toast. I did get my tea, but without food. Then 10 days prior, I had requested if I could get an earlier check in because I got to the hotel around 10:30 and wanted to get a nap, shower, etc. They told me I had to pay extra for earlier check in which would be around 1:00 anyway. I have to say that the front desk ladies were amazing and extremely accommodating, but my room got ready at 2:30. The front doors were not functioning properly due to the storm and I had to walk around and outside with my bags getting wet. Anyway, it is no big deal but it is the little things that matter in the overall picture. I loved the food there and the service was top notch.

Came to the hotel for lunch. The steak and chips were superb. They catered for my friend who is a coeliac as my friend described. I had the mushroom soup and the pork scratchings with homemade apple sauce, both were perfect. The staff were extremely helpful, professional and friendly. Although it was my first visit they made it feel like I was a regular with there warmth. If I lived local I would come here often.

Absolutely Fantastic 👏 Very little to fault here All members of staff were always welcoming, friendly helpfull and always with a smile on their faces Accommodation was clean and comfortable. Generally, the food was excellent. My slight niggle was we ate Sunday evening and I felt the food had been kept on the warmer for some time. We used the spa which was excellent and again with some fantastic and friendly staff We will stay again and we have no hesitation in recommending the Coniston Hotel and Spa👍

We arrived for our overnight spa stay and was greeted by friendly reception staff. The lady checked us in and booked us for our evening meal. The rooms were clean spacious with lovely views. Our evening meal was delicious and we had a great view before it got dark. After seeing other people portion sizes we opted to order a few sides too. We ended up with far too much but very nice steak cooked perfectly. We enjoyed some cocktails after. In the morning we went to reception to check us into the spa before having our breakfast. We was told we couldn't just go over at anytime as it was all 2 hour slots and it had to be with the hours of our stay and not after early check out. We choose to enjoy our breakfast that we'd already paid for so had to pay extra to enjoy the spa or not visit. We came for the over night spa experience so we paid the extra, although I wasn't happy as that was included in our stay and we'd not been told it was only certain hours we could go. The breakfast service was slow and we found ourselves waiting a while for a clean table. The hot drinks weren't freely available, and when we asked for originally tea we was given empty cups to look at for 10mins until our teapot was finally brought out. The breakfast was average. We expected a little better after our nice evening meal. The spa welcome was lovely but hubby was given a robe for a thin women and no way he was getting his shoulders into those. I had a quick look and sniff at the products before declining on a treatment. The pool was a good temperature to get in a few lengths before we enjoyed the outdoor hottubs. The view was amazing and we spent most our day outside. Luckily the sun was shining. Unfortunately we didn't get chance to walk round the area as this was our first night away from new baby.

Wonderful visit to the Coniston Hotel . Had two meals at The View- really delicious food beautifully presented and attentive service. My last visit had been disappointing and this was a huge difference. We all enjoyed our meals and drinks before in the lively Macleods bar- good fun and great atmosphere.
