We stopped at Handel’s Ice Cream during our motorcycle trip, and it was the perfect treat. The shop has a fun, welcoming vibe, and the staff was friendly and quick to serve. The ice cream itself was absolutely delicious—rich, creamy, and full of flavor. With so many options to choose from, it was tough to pick just one, but every scoop was worth it. Sitting there with our cones after the ride made for a great little break. Definitely a spot I’d recommend to anyone passing through—it hits the spot after a long ride!

I have a motto when it comes to looking for places for food; if it's busy, then the food is likely good. The prices were grea, had quick service and the quality was there. My only complaint is that the ice cream I had was pretty melted before I could even start eating it. I assume vanilla was really popular today.

I've had a lot of ice cream in the area and this one is definitely special. The ice cream isn't too thick it's a really nice consistency. The strawberry ice cream was very flavorful. I got the Gram Central Station and it was so good.

The staff is very friendly and although things are a little on the slow side, it's well worth the wait. With an abundance of flavors and the ability to taste the flavors before you buy, I would rank this in the top five of ice cream shops in Pennsylvania. Did I mention free samples?

Honestly the best ice cream in all of york county, the wife and kids live all the flavors and the staff is quick and friendly. There's something for everyone. Highly recommend.

Homemade ice cream, very very good. I've had the butter pecan which is so yummy and now I've tried the chocolate almond. The chocolate was good but had very little almond chips inside

Very good ice cream and soooooo many options. Took me a while to decide, but with the line the way it was I had time to decide. 2 cones and 2 waffle bowls ran about $20; not too bad. The servers were very helpful and patient with each customer. These are college students, in most cases, so tips help 😉

Another lucky stop, saw their sign while looking for the Duncan. We had tarts and cappuccino. All wonderful.

Back in March 2025, we ordered and picked up linzer cookies and macarons at our daughter’s request from Janina’s. The staff at Janina’s made sure that my order was correct at the time I placed the order, and available for pick up at the proposed date and time. The tasty treats were not in the dish for a long period of time and did not let the attendees down. I will use Janina’s again.

Very clean, professional bakery and cafe. It's a little pricier than other places around, but justifiably delicious. The desserts I tried were expertly made and overly sweet. I look forward to visiting again.

An absolute gem! I am a transplant from DC Metro area where you are surrounded by bakeries, authentic ethnic cousine and markets, pastry shops, cafes and coffee places, and pretty much anything your heart desires. I was looking for a bakery shop a few years back that made mousse cakes I missed so much! I was looking for something I could easily get before and now would have to drive almost two hours for. Well this place is only about 30 to 40 minutes away. A few years back I came across this little diamond of a shop and it has instantly become a family favorite. Janina's cakes and mini creations are absolutely devine! The ingredients are perfectly well put together for the pickiest and snobiest tastes out there. Mine included! Mind you the prices are high, but look at what you are getting! It's very well worth every penny! And if you do it just for special occasions or once in a while when your taste buds crave that city bakery experience, you are not going to break the bank. Try Janina's black currant cake, it's heaven! Or mango coconut pineapple cake! Your taste buds and your familly will thank you!!!! Or the chocolate creations! Yummy! The passion fruit cake is perfection. Seriously. Perfection Janina is kind and will work with you. This is the difference between chain bakeries and Moms and Pops ones. Try this place! Go for the minis if you can't decide on one flavour. I can't say more about this place that I have already. Cut the price tag on something else just to experience this place. First time eating breakfast at Janina's and had a great experience. The coffee is great and I would highly recommend the breakfast bowl. You can tell they use quality ingredients.

My sister had purchased a gift certificate at another store and the new owner ripped it up in front of us, but did take the $ off the bill. He says I'm the new owner and I won't see that $$...if you buy a gift certificate it says use at any location. He was very unprofessional. Our lowest bill for 2 people was $13. Tables were not properly cleaned, and the floor...whoever mopped it YUCKY streaks, like dirty water.

I’m sorry the pricing is absolutely no longer reasonable. Sweet frog always charged a premium but it’s gotten out of control. Take kids out to a local sit down restaurant. Huge array of menu options for $7. Take them to sweet frog for dessert and their ice creams are $10 each. Restaurant had kids sundaes for $1.50. Guess we’ll be doing those from now on or Rita’s.

Great yogurt, good selection, several no sugar added and fat free options, nice fresh toppings bar. Friendly staff.

Store wasn't busy and over half of the tables were not clean yet only two were occupied. A third table closet to the register was occupied by the workers friends since it was obvious with their loud conversations. Trashcan lid was left on top of a table out of laziness. On top of all this, the toppings bar was messy as can be and disorganized. 7:00pm 3/23/24

This place has so many flavors to mix and match. They employees have always been really nice and the place is clean. Our whole family loves it and we’ll keep coming back.

At one point I was eating here almost daily. They at one point had a great selection of flavors and they always rotated the flavors weekly. The manager then was great and ran a perfect staff. Soon as new manager took over the flavor selection is sub par. They have too much dairy free stuff. The staff are no longer friendly and they tend to all hide in the back and seem very unwilling to help customers or greet them properly.

Great time. Plenty of flavors to choose from. The seating area was clean, bowls and spoons full. There was a lot of toppings to choose from, only thing that wasn't working right was the peanut butter topping, but I still got enough to satisfy. Staff was friendly and helped me utilize a mobile coupon that I had. Everything was great at my last visit.

I really wanted to love this place. When we pulled up, the atmosphere was exactly what I had hoped for—an old-school donut shop vibe with a friendly, local staff. The donuts in the case looked great, and we were genuinely excited to dive in. We noticed they offered breakfast sandwiches, so we decided to sit at the coffee bar for table service. That’s where things started to go downhill. While the staff was pleasant, they seemed a bit lost. Our coffees were prepared incorrectly, missing simple things like milk and sweetener. It took several reminders before those items finally made it to the table. When the donuts were served, they were placed directly on the countertop with only a small piece of wax paper underneath—which wasn’t exactly appetizing. When milk was finally brought over for one of the coffees, no spoon came with it. It took another customer asking the server before we learned they apparently had just one spoon to share. We then waited over 10 minutes for sugar for the second coffee. As for the breakfast sandwiches, they were… an experience. The eggs were cracked fresh and scrambled in front of us with a splash of half-and-half—but then cooked in the microwave. Both the eggs and sausage were handled by the same server who seemed to be doing everything. For a place centered around breakfast, you’d expect them to stand out from typical microwave fare, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. The sandwich was barely edible. The highlight, thankfully, was the donuts. They were large, dense, and flavorful—just how I like them. We’d happily buy the donuts again, but probably from a different location or in a store. As for dining in, it’s not a trip we’d make again.

Delicious. So many flavors, I couldn’t pick, so I tried something I have never had. Coconut donut with custard. Other half chose his favorite blueberry which was out of the water better than any other we’ve had. Real blueberry. Donuts don’t disappoint. Coffee was great too. Was served immediately. Staff was friendly and personable. We are from out of town and definitely was worth the stop and I found this place off a whim browsing near by spots. Definitely recommend stopping for breakfast or any time for a sweet snack.

Great stop. Fun donuts. Happy service. And a rack of day Olds if you want a great deal. Got a bakers dozen and an iced coffee for less than twenty bucks. Lots of great specialty donuts and plenty of seating.

It's open 24 hours so anyone can get their donut fix without judgement! The selection is impressive, with fun and creative flavors that are always fresh. They have a cute retro style diner that is perfect for a quick bite anytime day or night

We stopped by this location after dress shopping and they had a huge selection even after what I would consider later in the day. The donuts are perfection. The lady at the counter was also super friendly. She was patient with us while we made our selection because it was hard to choose.

We had Maple Donuts for our recent wedding! So many people could not get enough of the donuts. They were so easy to order in bulk and pick up that morning. The staff is so kind to communicate with and are very knowledgeable. The staff was able to know wich donuts were most popular and how many we needed. Best dessert to have at the wedding and then we had breakfast the next morning!!! Thank you Maple Donuts for always having perfect donut!!!

Little spot that looks like it hasnt been touched since the 1950's when it was first probably built as an ice cream or donut shoppe! The smell hit us about a quarter mile down the road, and the taste is definitely worth a stop! Love the umbrelled outdoor seating!

We had the salted caramel white chocolate pretzel and it was the best flavor I have had while visiting PA. We also got the chocolate chip cookie dough and it was good.

I had the pleasure of indulging at Sweet Willow Creamery and highly recommend it to everyone. The owner, Brent, was in and he was fantastic to talk “shop” with while I tried all his amazing in-house made creations. The variety of sensational flavors and his attention to detail and inventiveness is apparent in his offerings. His son invented a Dubai Chocolate Sundae that was absolutely incredible in flavor and texture. I was pleased with the generous scoops and his recommendations based on my feedback and likes. I’m going back as soon as I can.

We visited Sweet Willow Creamery today and what an amazing treat! We each had malts, one chocolate and one chocolate and peanut butter. Both were perfectly smooth, creamy, delicious, not too sweet, just perfectly balanced. We also sampled the brown sugar butter ice cream, which was incredibly rich, creamy, full of flavor, and sweetened just right. On top of that, we had the pleasure of chatting with the owner/creator—such a kind and welcoming person who has truly perfected the art of ice cream making. We’ll definitely be going back… A LOT!

Absolutely fantastic spot! Incredibly tasty & high quality ice cream. The sundaes are also great. Highly recommend the cotton candy ice cream - it has a unique flavor without being overwhelming. We visited on a Saturday night - and there was a significant wait, but it’s well worth it!

Amazing! Hands down the best. I have a lactose issue, but this place is worth it. Let’s talk about the people- The team and owner are great, kind people. Now let’s talk about the ice cream- ohhhh my gosh!! Every time I come with my family we are constantly surprised by the flavors!! We started coming weekly just to try the different flavors. Warning- once you take your kids, they will not want to get ice cream anywhere else!

Beautiful day for a blizzard!! Sun shining, gentle breeze, and delicious ice cream. We enjoyed a turtle blizzard, and a banana split blizzard to music from the 50's. Will definitely return. Adequate parking with outside dining only.

So yummy, got the blizzard the choco brownie extreme one I think and it was very delicious, I’d like more brownies in it but still so amazing. I recommend this place highly and it was my first time going.

I only have one recommendation and it is for the store, I think they should update their system to be able to place the order through the app. I really don't come here because I don't accumulate points and I always have to order here. Soooo many mosquitos. This is the second time we have tried to sit in the lovely area behind the store. However the mosquitos are SO BAD!! I was there for maybe 15 minutes and had 10 bites on my legs alone. My poor kids were so chewed up too. Unfortunately we live too far away so our ice cream is melted by the time we get home. So we prefer to sit and eat. I really hope they consider doing something about the mosquitos because the space is very nice otherwise.

Catalina was wonderful to work with. I messaged her about making an "Under the Sea" themed cake for my daughter's birthday. She had great suggestions for the style of the cake and incorporated my ideas in a lovely way. The cake was beautiful and incredibly delicious! We had guests asking to take home leftovers. Highly, highly recommend her! On a separate note, she was very sweet to my daughter. She gave my daughter several forest-themed animal rings for free (which matched my daughter's clothes) when we initially went in to discuss the cake. Very nice person.

The service & atmosphere was wonderful but I have to admit I’ve had much better cupcakes. I went in search of cupcakes for my son’s 23rd birthday as some kids that age just aren’t into cakes. We moved up from Maryland last year and had a local Cupcake place called Flavor Cupcakery which had won on Cupcake Wars so I understand they’d be hard to beat and my standards were high but I was truly disappointed after paying $4 each and they were no where near as good…. The texture & flavor was just nothing special. The icing was super sweet, which in their defense, I prefer cream cheese icing. Just very disappointed as the ones at Flavor also had a “crispy” edge (if that makes sense). If I had time to drive to MD, I would have but sadly, did not.

Really nice out of the way cafe. Didn't get a chance to try any of their cupcakes, but the chai tea was incredible! Very strong on the spices but I enjoyed it a lot. Nice tables in the back to work at with cool air conditioning as well. Very affordable prices! I only paid $3 for a hot chai. The only thing that could be improved on is there isn't really a menu, so it's difficult to tell exactly what they offer. I really like the place though!

Catalina was the best. With only 2 weeks until my son’s birthday, I had definitely cut it short for a custom cake, but Catalina took on the challenge. Not only that, she came in on a day they were closed to make the cake and be there so we could pick it up. She definitely went above and beyond. Not to mention, the cake was delicious, and beautiful to boot. I can’t recommend her enough.

I normally have a good experience but yesterday wasn’t great. I got vanilla custard with root beer ice but the vanilla custard tasted like fruit punch and it was partly red. It wasn’t a good taste with root beer. Not a big deal but I hope they can do a better job at keeping the flavors separated.

I love Rita's! My favorite thing to get are mistos. I refuse to call them by their new name.😤 I also think they need to be researched. How is it possible that when I drink them, they make me stop sweating?!🤯 It's a pleasant anomaly. If only they could do something about my brain freezes...

Concrete was all icecream with very little topping. Asked for more topping wouldn't add any. Wont be wasting my money here for just vanilla ice cream.

GREAT ice & gelati. would have got 5 stars but the online-pick up window is not just used for online orders . The window is used for in-persons orders too and I had to wait an extra 15min's to pick up online order.

After trying the cupcakes 🧁 and the pineapple 🍍 upside-down cake I thought everything was very delicious 😋. As far as the service provided I felt that the person behind the counter was very rude and made me and my wife feel like we shouldn't belong in the store. I even try to break the ice with a joke the person behind the counter just looked at me. So for being our first time at your store it will also be our last. Customer service needs addressed!!!!!!

I'm shocked by the bad reviews, and can only imagine that they come from the competition. (It's also wrong for someone to give a business they've never used a one-star rating based on other people's bad reviews!) For over a decade I've driven 75 miles annually from Chester county for my son's birthday cakes; his birthday wouldn't be the same without his vanilla cake with chocolate mousse/ganache filling and vanilla buttercream. The cakes are amazing (not too sweet), decorations inspired, and staff very accommodating and nice. Several times they have accepted my late order because I forgot to call in time and knew how important it was to my son! I have great local bakeries where I live, but always make the special trip to Providence! I even have a couple local friends making the trip. If you have a special occasion, there is no better bakery.

Absolutely love this place! I will never stop raving about them! I have been going to this bakery for almost 4 years and they have never fail me. This was my sons birthday cake from last year and they completely nailed it. So many people came up to me with amazing things to say on the look of the cake and also the taste!

So I went here to buy a birthday cake for my wife. She loves cake.....if nothing else, just a good cake will make her happy for a whole year! My mother In law does some research on bakeries in the area and suggested I give it a try. She called a couple of days ahead but was told she needed to stop by and pick something out of the case as there was not enough notice to make a cake for a birthday (ok, but how long ago were the cakes in the case made?! 😱). So the day before her birthday I decided to make the 45 minute ride to check out the cakes in the case. The lady at the counter was friendly and as I asked, explained the cakes, icing, filling. Each cake was decorated for fall or thanksgiving. I picked out a cake with with real buttercream icing that had white exterior, nuts, berries, pumpkins, and leaves. I believe the cost was close to $50 since I had to pay extra for using a credit card. I asked the lady if she could have the cake made into a birthday cake for me, the thanksgiving theme just wasn’t screaming “Happy Birthday” to me. She said “of course!” And took the cake in the back. A minute later she came out with the cake in a box. I thanked her and left. When I arrived home, I opened the box and choked as I laughed hysterically. They literally just put a “Happy Birthday” stick on top of the cake. So much for the “have it your way” mentality that most small business owners would swear by! The cake and filling were delicious but everyone was sadly disappointed at the crisco taste in The “real buttercream icing”. After reading reviews post this ordeal, I think I had my fill of this bakery. Good luck!

Thought I would see what this is all about when I was driving past. Asked about flavors that did not have any high fructose corn syrup in them and one of the kids at the register recommended their dragon fruit flavored icy. I was eyeballing the Gelatis, so I asked if they could make my dragon fruit icy "Gelati" style. Even on a cool day, the dessert was just what I wanted. The icy was refreshing and not too sweet. The custard, a wonderful creamy texture and also lightly sweet. Very happy with this experience.

Don’t even bother coming here. Got 2 concrete Oreos and it was 13$ and some change and the cup wasn’t even a third of the way full. I ask her why they are not full as they appear in the photos and all she said was that’s the way they come. Complete waste of money.

Dont waste your time. I drove here out of my way to have a little treat with my family. Waiting for 20 minutes while one of the employees sat on her cell phone on a bench the whole time. Looked at us several times but didnt help. We left and went elsewhere.

Over night there's some women around 12:30am omg it she on medication or some type of pills smh every timeee i go she allways want to act like its her first day working in there!! I call before for a specific flavor and she say there's no more of it so i say okay, i decide to drive to the place so i can see what else to get and when i decide for a banana split she tells me there's no bananas so i say okay again well i ask her what does she have available can you freaking believe she say there's 24 flavors and im not going to go over all of them!! Please if you guys are going to have someone to work there make sure they are prepare and ready to work!!!!! I cant believe i drove from west york to this baskin robbing for no reason im really disappointed smh

Terrible, do not waste your money. They were out of multiple flavors, ordered the advertised milkshakes (4 of them) and received scoops, the brownie was super hard and not edible, was excited about the experience for the kids and it was a waste of $58. Do better!

This is what one scoop of ice cream looks like. Both were good, the "Campfire" I was just overwhelmed by the smoke flavor. I only took about 3 bites, then had to throw in the towel. But the Reese's PB was really good. Oh, one scoop costs $4.50

Unsanitary and Disappointing Experience. If you care about food safety, I wouldn’t recommend this place. Several employees had long hair not tied back or covered, wore fake fingernails, and weren't using gloves while handling food. We tried the PB caramel brownie and the cotton candy flavors, both had an odd consistency and tasted overly artificial. We’ll stick with Sweet Willows across the street, which is much better in both quality and cleanliness. We threw our ice creams away and got our usuals and sweet willows!

I am always looking for destination ice cream shops when I'm out on a motorcycle ride and now Ripleigh's is definitely on my list. I found it by accident in a random Facebook post and even though it's only 10 miles from home, the abundance of unusual flavors is going to keep me coming back. I had been searching for maple bacon and they had it! And it certainly did not disappoint with chunks of real bacon generously dispersed throughout. Nice clean shop, friendly staff, plenty of seating and ample parking. 🍦 🍦 🍦 🍦 🍦

Ice cream was extremely goey and overly sweet. The service was mid at best - the employees don’t wear hats which is disgusting to do in the food industry. The owner is rude and steals her ideas from other local ice cream parlors. Skip this place and go to Sweet Willows (local and homemade since 2003) across the street.

Ice cream is really good. $9 for a pint is insane. That's $72/gallon. Don't care, no ice cream is worth that much.

Me and my fiance seen this place as we were out walking, he's a truck driver so we were in the area to go try it. We got a few different kinds of brownies and then 4 chocolate chip cookies They are delicious I really like the peanut butter brownie,, it is super chocolatey and it is so good with a cup of milk to go with it🥰

Saw the blueberry muffin cookie was back, so I made a special trip to get one. Was slightly disappointed, as I thought the cookie should have had a glaze on it, but mine didn't. I am not a confrontational person, so I just accepted the cookie as is. Wasn't the same without it.

Typical business today...website allows you to order, but when checking out, says one cookie takes two hours to pickup, ridiculous. Then, automatically enters a $2 tip for a employee who is getting an hour salary to make the product.

These cookies are pricey but good. They are very sweet and large. They are made in the shop and its entertaining (in a weird way) watching them make these cookies while you wait. I like it when they have more than a few options and wish the smaller cookie sizes are available for individual purchase. The staff is friendly and kind. It is always busy and they need to get the kiosks back up and running....DO ITTTT!!!!

These cookies are ridiculously good. I’m thrifty but will splurge for special occasions. The customer service was pretty poor. I had a hard time understanding the cashier and the person giving me the cookies came back and asked me which cookies I ordered. It was odd.

These cookies are amazing! I ordered one of every flavor that they had ready and it was a lovely idea! My kids loved them and even called me "a cool mom" ☺️ highly recommend if you're looking for gourmet scrumptiousness.

The facility is very clean and well kept. When I went there it was decently busy. The workers were all very friendly and easy to work with. When I received my cookie it was what I expected flavor wise. Perfect balance of chocolate and cookie and was warm. The box my cookie came in had reminsnce of the oils and cookie from the workers gloves on it when I received it.

First, I will say that the service was good, as the place was completely empty on a Sunday afternoon which meant quick service. The building is also very wide open and clean. The ice cream, however, was very icy and not creamy, as I usually expect creamery ice cream to taste. The flavor itself wasn’t amazing either (I had one scoop of coffee and one scoop of a Java flavor). It was the first time I have EVER gone out to eat ice cream and didn’t finish it. I threw away half of my bowl. There were also not very many interesting flavors to choose from. I’ve realized after talking with friends that some people prefer ice cream to taste like it has ice chips in it, but to me, it tasted a bit like freezer burnt store bought ice cream. A good friend told me that this is her favorite ice cream spot, though! So, I’d give it a try for yourself, at least once, as we all have different tastes and preferences. However, I will likely stick with my usual nearby creamery and don’t feel the need to return any time soon.

This has to be the best ice cream I've ever had! I was hesitant to try it bc it looked like "ice milk" and I typically like a custard-type ice cream. Even though the texture is light and airy, it still tastes creamy! The black cherry is delicious and I love the classics like chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip, and cookies and cream. Plus, everyone that works in the store is so friendly! So glad they came to this side of York!

I was excited to try this ice cream spot and although I realize they haven't been an ice cream parlor in the past I was willing to give them some slack. We were disappointed 😞 . The place is clean upon entering, but not inviting. The portions are small and it had ice chips in both of ours..weird. I wish them luck with this location.

My whole life I was fed mint chocolate chip ice cream since I was probably like 6 months old. My children absolutely love ice cream especially mint chocolate chip. I don't know if it's just me and my kids but this mint chocolate chip ice cream that we got from here was horrible 😔 you barely taste the chocolate pieces and it tastes like toothpaste off brand not, we usually can eat maybe 2 gallons of ice cream in 2 days, this ice cream has been sitting in our refrigerator barely touched. I'm not from Pennsylvania but I heard this was the ice cream spot but not for us. Best ice cream spot you want real good homemade ice cream since 1939 has been in business and they are booming still Hoffman's ice cream Westminster Maryland you won't regret it!!!!!!

Went to Carmen's for the first time today. Ice cream selection is ok but kinda limited. My guy and I both got 1 scoop and noticed they have a small, discreet, notice near the the register that they charge an additional 4% if using a card. I planned on using cash so proceeded with the order. However, AFTER getting our ice cream they tell us "we can't accept cash today." No sign, no reason, just cuz. The selection isn't good enough to be that costly adding 4% for a card so I gave them their ice cream right back. Stick to Handel's, or literally anywhere else. Shady business decisions and no notice or explanations to be found at Carmen's for mediocre ice cream at best. No thanks!

I am an Icecream lover and never miss out on noticing a shop, no matter where I ammon earth. I always drive by and think oh what nice ice cream shop, I finally decided to take my wife there for us to try it. We walked in, poor customer service, dry cut salute and they did not let us sample the flavors (like if you sell ice cream, sampling is a must, otherwise why have multiple flavors?) Anyways, my wife got coffee + butter pecan and I got mint choc chip + orange pineapple. This has got to be the worse ice cream ever. The flavors taste like watered down suger and flavor with colors that aren't authentic. The coffee wasn't even coffee and smells like lukewarm tea. The orange pineapple taste like a tang drink mix and the mint is like an icy slushy. I'll never ever Embarss myself again by taking my family to such a place. Please don't even consider them.

Bought some from a farm in MD who carries. Airey, barely qualifies as ice cream with 10% buttermilk fat and loaded with artificial dyes and fillers. I thought turkey hill was the worst Pennsylvania had to offer. Was wrong.
