I ordered the trout and french fries. My wife had the trout and grits. All of the food was served only slightly warm. French fries would have been great, if they were hot. Overall, the food was good, just not hot as it should be from the kitchen. Bar drinks were OK. I thought they were small, expensive and nothing to write home about. Total bill with gratuity was $82 for two for lunch.

We came for lunch on a Saturday. I would highly recommend a reservation if you’re going during peak season. They opened at 11 and immediately had a line out the door. We did make a reservation and were sat immediately. Our server was nice and food all came out relatively quick. The smoked trout dip was phenomenal. It’s super dense but didn’t feel heavy after eating it. The wagyu burger was delicious! I would’ve liked to have a little more of the goat cheese and aioli because those flavors were subtle. The burger itself was cooked well. The trout po boy was good but not as good as the burger. The bread to trout ratio was a bit off and I felt like it needed more inside. Loved the touch of celery in the slaw! But again wished for more sauce on this as you couldn’t really taste the remoulade that much. The fries were SO GOOD. None left on our plates. All in all a good lunch and would go back!

Guess what we ate at the speckled trout? It was really good. They have 4-5 preparations of the trout that you can choose from. We had several at our table and all were good. The collard greens were very good also. They have a nice selection of beer.

We ate here twice this past weekend. I had the cracker crusted trout both times; once with mac ‘n cheese and the second time with Hoppin’ John. The food was incredibly delicious! If I was local, I would eat here a minimum of once a week! Fun atmosphere and friendly staff.

it’s been a long time since i had a meal wow me as much as this one did. my family and i ordered a variety of entrees, and every single one was delicious. the blackened trout was buttery with the perfect amount of spice, and the strip steak is to die for. the sides were also delicious, especially the smoked gouda grits and green beans. the flourless chocolate torte was the cherry on top. our server, kellan, was very friendly and attentive. if you’re visiting blowing rock, this place is an absolute MUST. i highly recommend making a reservation and being patient with parking.

Great service and fantastic food! The grits were from my hometown in SC and were amazing! Everything we had was delicious! I had the blackened trout, gouda grits and collards. I promise my intention was to take a pic before I ate, but seeing it made me completely forget!!😂

Small museum packed with history of the area. Is with a stop while wandering the downtown Blowing Rock area.

This is a relatively small museum, but oh so delightful. This museum supports the many talented local artists, which I think is fantastic. The people who work here are friendly, kind, pleasant, and very helpful. This is a must-see museum on Main Street in the town of Blowing Rock. While you are here check out the colorful and ultra beautiful gardens everywhere.

Thank you to Bonnie for spending time with me and my family yesterday afternoon helping us fall in love with the incredible art of Elliott Daingerfield. Her passion for art and history was inspiring and we left completely taken by this visionary. The museum is beautiful and free for everyone. The museum was beautiful and informative. The staff, to include an amazingly nice young lady at the desk(didnt get her name) and Sam Reep, were extremely friendly and helpful. The young lady gave us directions to find the Junaluska mural that we were interested in, and Sam emailed me some amazing additional information. We mentioned eating and not only did Sam make some great recommendations, he made reservations to a place that the locals loved! We were so very excited to eat there, unfortunately, my friend became a little ill and we had to cancel the early afternoon reservations and they were booked for the rest of the evening! All of this gives us reason to return to the quaint town and see the new exhibits coming to the museum and experience the wonder all over again!

What a nice museum. Very informative video on the history of Blowing Rock, and how it came to be. Then a nice flow through the multiple galleries within the museum. My favorite exhibit was the watercolors. A wonderful collection of art and history all under one roof. The gentleman working the welcome desk was very informative and nice.

I drove in from Boone and dropped by for about an hour, and had the privilege of seeing Andréa Connell's Pattern Mapping exhibition as well as some other local paintings. A wonderful little spot to step into if you're in the area!

A wonderful little museum in Blowing Rock. Love the exhibits, contests and staff. We travel a couple of hours several times a year to see what’s new. We love it.

Beautiful property & store! It’s like an old house converted that has many rooms & pretty merchandise. I took pics to show what they offer. They were getting near closing time when I wandered in to look around as we were on a wait list at a nearby restaurant last Sunday. No one said hello to me but they were probably wrapping up to close. I’ll try to visit again the next time we’re in Blowing Rock. I highly recommend it for the charm! Josephine Local Guide

Definitely make this a necessity while visiting Boone. It was the coziest and most adorable gift shop with tons of Christmas decor currently. They even had custom Blowing Rock ornaments that make perfect gifts. I was stunned by this place and I think you will be too!

Just purchased the cutest little glass mosaic bird feeder here. Clerk stated that they didn’t have a box for it, but it was wrapped in plastic bubble wrap. After handing it to me, the package slipped out of my hand. I hadn’t even left the counter. After the clerk unwrapped it I realized that it was only wrapped in Saran wrap. It wasn’t even wrapped in tissue or paper. The clerk told me that it was unfortunate for me and refused to give me another one. I asked if they could at least give me a discount on another one since I purchased it for a gift. I had her call manager to see if we could reach a resolution. The manager said since it had left the employees hand it wasn’t their fault. This used to be my go to gift shop. Never again. I can’t help but think if it had been wrapped properly, this wouldn’t have happened. The clerks at Home Goods take more care with my purchases. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service. Since this was made in China I think the least they could have done was give me a discount. *** Just went to Home Goods to purchase another gift for my friend. Thought I would post this to show you how glassware should be wrapped for customers.

We have a family vacation home in Sugar Mountain and every time we all get together the women our family shop in this beautiful store. It has special unique items that you will not find in regular stores. Decorating is my passion and I absolutely adore the store and will shop there forever. It is a huge treat to get together to such a unique and beautiful store. Also wanted to mention that I bought a fountain there in the spring when I got home, it did not work properly. I called them immediately and we did a return and they sent me out a new one and it works great. This is a must go, check it out ladies and gents super cool place.

We had a blast in this store. The lady was very helpful, kind, and she even gave us assistance when figuring out our decor. She even offered us TWO Christmas bags because we spend over $100, but we gratefully accepted just one. We loved the vast selection of Christmas gifts.

Customer Service Needs Much Improvement. No Staff Welcome to Store Upon Entering. Staff Did Not Please Customer With Purchases, Nor Actually Seemed To Appreciate Business. Store offered free Christmas Snowman Bag with a $50 Purchase. Our purchase was 48.96 plus tax which was over the $50 amount. Store Associate would not give a free bag since purchase was $48.96 before tax and “dismissively” told us that we did not qualify for a free bag to be given as she did not care to please her customers. Wanted to charge us $5.00 for the Snowman Bag. Staff Was Also Not Very Customer Friendly. Do Not Recommend Shopping or Buying from this Business Establishment. 😡

What an incredible shop. The lady who was running the store was so sweet and helpful. She even helped my brother in law pick out a flag. Who ever Eric is above…I didn’t know everyone gets a trophy…. You spend $50, you “earn” a free bag. Buy more that is the incentive not your “prize”. Such a great store, great collection, gifts for everyone! Make sure you stop in.

Love the shop, bought a some cute things, BUT we parked in the back of the store where it said parking for the Christmas in Blowing Rock store and some lady(from the florist store) yelled at us and wouldn’t leave us alone because we parked there, she was harassing us, saying it was employee parking but the sign literally says parking for the store(if it’s for employees the sign needs to be changed), I told her I could show her my receipt from the store. Just like the other stores have signs for parking, like “parking for Footsloggers only”. That’s what we assumed the parking was for shoppers of the store. Don’t know if I’ll be back just because of the way that woman treated us. Disgusting….. Especially having children with us.

When making a purchase, be absolutely certain it is what you want. They will not take returns, even on credit card purchases. They only do an exchange, and not even that, for marked down items. Did not see that posted in store, nor warned. It is printed on receipt that exchanges may be made within 14 days, but does not state no refunds. If you’re at the point of having a receipt, it is then too late.

My husband and I went into this shop for the first time today. We immediately found a hand blown Christmas tree figurine that looked perfect for my mother in law. The older women was a bit rude behind the counter when I told her that I wanted to purchase it. She said they already came packaged. (I had carried the display figurine over to purchase) There were several tree figurines on display and when I tried to tell her I wanted the one with purple bulbs she was quite rude. Saying that they all have multicolor bulbs. I was aware of this but simple was pointing out that the figurine that included the purple bulbs was the one I wanted. I would have left without purchasing the item if it handn't been such a perfect gift for my mother in law. If I had known there was another Christmas shop in town I would have gone there instead. I Do not recommend.

Loved my visit! Had a lovely chat with owner, Katherine. She is so full of creative tips and loves working with rope. It shines through as you talk to her. Bought the book! Highly recommend the book!!! I will be back soon! Scared I may become a stalker🤣

This is a quaint little quilting store up in Blowing Rock. They don't have a huge selection of fabrics but what they do carry are very nice - lots of Art Gallery! They specialize in making these wonderful cotton rope bowls and they also sell the kits to make them with. I just did my first one and it was a blast. The photo is of the basket I made from the Mountain Thread kit, not something they made - their baskets are much more impressive and statuesque - mine - meh, a little lumpy!

Love this shop. Went specifically to buy colored rope to make bowls. Wasn't disappointed.

It was the sweetest little “accident” to happen upon this quilt/fabric/basket shop during our weekend getaway in Blowing Rock. The shop itself inspires so much creativity and it was full of beauty and color and creation and charm. I could’ve spent all day there! I am new to quilting and Katherine taught me so much about fabric and selecting prints just in the relatively short time I was there. ❤️ Make sure you stop by if you are in town! I can’t wait to visit again!

I love this shop! The rope baskets are unique and make great gifts, as well as treats for your own home. They also have lots of lovely fabrics, and the owner is lovely. They are in the Martin House (the big yellow house next to the park) in Blowing Rock. Definitely worth a visit!

Out of any Monkee’s location, the Blowing Rock store is by far the most welcoming. The staff here show such incredible customer service and are so beyond helpful in finding you outfits and styles that will exude your most confident self. I have bought jeans, shoes and earrings from this store over the years and I always leave feeling uplifted and confident because of the staff here. It is so worth a stop at this boutique if you are near the Blowing Rock or Boone area.

Monkees BR is my favorite place to shop for unique, high quality pieces. Their sales team and owners are truly the NICEST and most helpful people to work with. I love to pop in the store when I'm up in the mountains, but since I am not local I love to shop their site and Instagram. They ship so quickly and I always love everything I get from there! 100% recommend for treating yourself, gifts for friends and family, or finding pieces for any occasion.

Exceptional customer service and great selection for all ages and budgets! I live 1000+ miles from Blowing Rock but when I'm in the area I always make a point to stop by this stylish, fun boutique. I love their selection of clothes, shoes, and accessories and I find it refreshing that they offer options for every budget and age. Today I reached out to Monkee's for help accessorizing an outfit for a graduation I plan to attend next week. They helped me select a perfect necklace and purse to match my dress. And the most amazing part? All of this happened over the phone and with pictures they sent me (and they sent lots of pictures because I'm picky, lol). They even plan to deliver the items to the hotel where I will be staying! I could not be more pleased with my Monkee's experience!

What a little gem nestled in Blowing Rock. The owners, Jess and Kenneth are wonderful and always there to help the customers. The staff is great at picking out pieces I would have never picked up off the rack myself. They have a great selection of styles and I always find something that I just love when I shop there. Don't go to Blowing Rock without a shopping trip to Monkees!!

I had the most pleasant experience in this store today! They had an amazing sale going on with all of the brands I love. Even though it was busy, the employees took their time to help me and even showed me each & every shoe that was available in my size! I felt my shopping experience was truly catered to my style and price range. I will definitely return and bring my friends & family!

Grounded Works is just amazing. I was born with an upper limb deficiency and my arms only go down to my elbows. I wanted something leather to cover my elbows to protect them. I worked with Hunter and he took measurements and got it done. The final product felt great, and it was a perfect fit after some minor tweaks. Hunter even made the clasp easy enough for me to put them on and off without a single struggle. When I went there at the end to get my cuffs, Hunter wasn’t there and one of his coworkers helped me finalize the fit. Everyone there is so kind and helpful. They love new projects, I highly recommend them!

I bought the pathfinder wallet, It's an absolute beauty and minimalist. I met Hunter at his store and he was nice to talk to and he was showing me all his other wallets but for some reason I gravitated towards the pathfinder wallet. I have been using it since I bought it. Thank you for your hospitality and service. The wallet is sturdy and it's made out of great quality leather. There about ten cards plus money and the wallet is comfortable to carry.

We had the best experience at this store and with Hunter!! I will return. Highly recommend. He has high quality handmade goods that are unique and personable. Go spend some time with Hunter at Grounded works you will not be disappointed and it’s worth a stop in.

Earlier this year, my wife and I heard about a new store location in Blowing Rock for Grounded Works. Really glad we did. The owner and “leathersmith” Hunter is a super nice guy. His interest in what we were looking for as well as explaining the details of his product was great. Being in my 60’s I have always had the same type of wallet. Well thought I would give the “Neo Wallet” a try. Combination money clip and wallet all in a very small profile. I was able to pick out the leather color as well as the stitching…both having a vast array of colors to choose. I have had the wallet for about 10 months, and it has broken in very nicely and I absolutely love it….would highly recommend!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Hunter and checking out his shop in Blowing Rock, NC! I bought the Neo wallet, a koozie, a lanyard for my keys, and a Bible marker. I loved seeing all of the intricate designs Hunter has created. Keep creating awesome things, Hunter! And glorifying the Lord while doing it! Excited to follow this business even though I don’t live locally!

I have been shopping for a small wallet to replace my Wilson leather wallet/clip for years. Recently, when in Blowing Rock, I came across Hunter's shop and BANG, found it. Custom color I wanted too! It was PERFECT. Holds my ID, cards and cash. We try to support local businesses as much as possible. Oh, received it (special order) within about 10 days of placing the order online. Hunter even gave me a Vet/First Responder 10% discount! I'll be hitting him up for future items!

Hanna's staff was very patient and helpful. They showed me a variety of rugs (from their tastefully-curated stock) that fit my criteria, and I came home with the perfect one. I would highly recommend them.

When I walked into the store I was greeted with nothing but kindness from the staff. The rug selections are extremely beautiful, staff are also extremely knowledgeable of the origins of the rugs as well! My family and I will definitely be making another stop next time we are in Blowing Rock!

I found an item on this store's website that I wanted to buy. I added the item to my cart and proceeded to checkout. After putting in all of my information for checkout, their e-commerce system reads, "This store can't accept payments right now." I tried emailing the company on June 12th with no response as of June 23rd. I have tried calling the company during business hours, with no answer (and their voicemail is not set up). I used the email and phone number listed on their website. I'm guessing my question to see if I could purchase the item over the phone, or by using another platform, has been answered. I'm sure it's a great store, but it's not set up for any sales outside of local, and I have not been able to get in touch with anyone at the store.

Hanna’s Rugs is the place for beautiful and hard to find rugs for any room. They have a very large selection and are willing to show every rug if needed. Helpful friend staff to ensure you leave with a beautiful rug and an experience that will bring you back for more.

We have now purchased several rugs from Hanna’s Oriental Rugs & Gifts. Extremely pleased with our purchases and the top notch customer service we received from everyone in the store . Recently purchased a new house and I am sure we will back to Hanna’s for more rugs!😁

I don't think I have ever done this, but today is the day. The young woman working in this store was one of the most rude people I have ever met. My daughter and her boyfriend went in to look at 75% off rugs and the woman said to them, "I think you are in the wrong store". Really? Bc they might hurt something calmly walking through rugs piled everywhere? So I decided to ask the young lady about it. I walked in the store, alone, and she approached me. I said two teenagers with me were just in here and told they were in the wrong store. She apparently didn't want to discuss it bc she said the same thing to me. So I politely said, "your customer service is terrible and I plan to let people know". So now you know.

We left The Boutique Collection shaken. The blonde woman working was terribly creepy and followed my child to take a picture after I told her she did not have permission to photograph my child. Super scary experience and I feel incredibly shaken. Do not trust this place!

This was my first time in this Blowing Rock boutique and it did not disappoint! The owner has a great eye for colors, patterns, and unique styles. Exceptional assortment of sizes and good quality products. The staff is very friendly and doesn't hesitate to help you find "the right item". The prices are well in line. Wonderful little French shop in Blowing Rock. As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted by a wonderful French playlist and a super friendly owner! With both antiquities and goods from France, you will also find literature and art. We were able to snag some great additions to a charcuterie board with some lavender honey and Fig preserves. If you get the chance, have a talk with the owner leave with a warm heart as well!

I love this little store. I love all the authentic French things from the soaps to the beautiful tableclothes and books, and the owner greets everyone as a friend. A must visit when in Blowing Rock.

Talk about an authentic French shop! My daughter became ecstatic when she saw the French glad hanging outside the shop. We purchased the most amazing cook book that both parent and child can complete together and the most amazing French flash cards for my daughter. The owner was very kind and helpful! We cannot wait to visit again!

I have been to this lovely little shop several times over the years, and I am always impressed. This is like having a bit of France in my own backyard. During my lifetime, I have made 17 trips to la belle France, and this shop brings back many good memories, especially of the South of France. Each time I enter the shop, there is a fragrance that reminds me of the many shops I visited in France. Danielle, the proprietress, has a fantastic selection of santons(little saints), fabrics, soaps, sachets, ceramic and porcelain items, etc. Danielle is also very friendly and helpful, and I enjoy trying my French with her. If one is interested in purchasing unusual items not normally found in his/her typical American shop, he/she should definitely visit this shop. One will not be disappointed.

Wow! This place beats the predictions! It's located in a cute quarter next to some boutique stores, and the grill cheese sandwiches and the tomato bisque were awesome. You need to try them if you're not up for a full heavy meal.

This place definitely know how to make grilled cheese sandwiches. We had the Brie Apple grilled cheese. It was delicious and a good sized sandwich ( I definitely couldn’t taken 1/2 of it home ) they are in the back of that shopping area with all the white buildings towards the end of the main drag. I loved their patio tables with bright yellow umbrellas- you sit by all the beautiful flowers. Not fancy dining but very delicious & stress free.

Absolutely incredible! We tried the “Spicy Egg & Bacon I Am” and the “Brie Baby”, both were so good and awesome flavor combinations!!! Very friendly and great service, love the location as well. Would 100% recommend to everyone!

I can see why this place was rated a 5 stars. The sweet and savory grilled cheese was delightful with the tomato soup. So simple yet so good and the staff was so friendly. It has been a minute since I’ve been at a place where the food is great, the service is great and the atmosphere is just the perfect perfect setup for a sunny fall day.

We were walking around downtown Blowing Rock after some Spring hiking and stumbled upon Say Cheese. We were there during opening hours, but found no one to be around. We were disappointed and left to go eat somewhere else. Once we got back home to Charlotte, we realized they were seasonal and missed them by a week or two from their opening for the season. We knew we wanted to come back as their menu sounded so good, plus, I'm a huge grilled cheese fan! Well, we have come back after some hiking, not once, but twice! We were there in September enjoying our meal when we overheard someone asking when they would close for the season. They said at the end of October. So here we are, back again in October before they close one last time! Here is what we got most recently: *Spice is Nice - I'm a huge pimento cheese fan, but this has been my least favorite so far. It's good, but it doesn't wow me like the others do. *Pizza Pizzas - This is SO good! It is probably the cheesiest of the three that I love. I love how they slice this one into four breadstick like pieces to dip in a flavorful tomato sauce. That cheesy crusted bread with the gooey cheesy interior, is a cheese fan's dream! *Brie Baby - Everything about this one, from the brie, provolone, turkey, apples, and fig preserves works so well. This is probably the least gooey cheesiest of the three that I love, but this is one heck of a flavorful sandwich! *Sweet & Savory - It should be no surprise as a peach lover, that this is my favorite. I love the sweet and the spice all mixed in with gooey cheese and a little bit of bacon. Perfection! Please note, this is a small shop, and it gets busy in a mountain tourist town. They are making them fresh, and it takes some time. Be patient, it is well worth the wait! If I can give only one critique - place a sign outside the door with hours of when open for the season and when closed for the season. Service is bad in the area, and we had no clue originally when we were walking around. Otherwise, HIGHLY recommend. We will be back in 2026! :)

I got the ham and cheese (with smoked Gouda and Pepper Jack) and a cheerwine! It was so good and that cheese pull was great!! If you’re in blowing rock, stop here! You won’t regret it!

This was a perfect little spot for lunch. We tried the Brie Baby, the Sweet and Savory, and the Spice is Nice. All were excellent. Very affordable lunch. And the gentleman working the register was very friendly and helpful.

Always find great majolica pieces and furniture here. This store is a must visit if you love antiques!!! The owner is so knowledgeable as well.

We are very pleased with our purchases from Blowing Rock Furniture Gallery. Especially this latest purchase and the delivery service provided. With very short notice from us, they were able to accommodate our request for change to the delivery time. The delivery team Gauge and Colt, called the day before, to confirm date and timeframe. Additionally, they called us prior to their arrival, to let us know they were ahead of schedule ensuring the earlier time would suit us, and then assisted us with moving our existing furniture to accommodate the new pieces. They were respectful of our property and ensured that everything worked to our satisfaction, prior to leaving. Top notch job!

We've visited this family-run business twice, and both times we felt right at home. Our most recent visit ended in an unexpected purchase of a sectional, beautiful accent rug, and eye-popping cocktail table. We were assisted by Stephanie, who was abundantly patient with us while we selected a detailed permutation of layout configuration, fabric, and accent pillow colors. It seemed like we had some level of interaction with every member of the staff that day, whether it was them offering us bottled water, or shuffling around furniture to aid us in visually understanding how pieces might go together ... everyone was so accommodating and kind. Stephanie easily spent three hours dedicated exclusively to our effort. We didn't expect this, yet she wasn't even fazed by it. After consummating our transaction, I realized some hours (or a day?) later that I had forgotten the coupon in our car so I e-mailed Stephanie with that coupon, and she happily applied it after the fact. We felt like we were getting some real insider/royalty treatment. :) Man do they have a lot of stuff. It is a 2-floor facility, and they have such a variety of furniture in a wide range of price points. I wish we weren't so laser focused on the sectional (Craftmaster!), because I feel like there was so much more stuff to see; will have to make another trip I guess. Anyways, back to the sectional, table, and rug ... they do offer delivery. They have a third-party service that they partner with, but if there are enough deliveries to your area, it's cost-effective enough that they'll deliver the stuff themselves. That saves a couple of bucks for us too, I felt. We were so lucky to have the Blowing Rock Furniture Gallery truck roll up in front of our house (much to the "whoa!" of our neighbor). I liked that for the accountability, and they were really nice fellas, Jacob and Russ (actually washed their hands before assembling the furniture!). TL;DR: Positive transaction through and through, cannot give them a more glowing review.

Deliver was on time. George coordinated our delivery perfectly and stayed in touch with us constantly. The men making the delivery were professional and personable and very careful with our furniture that was being delivered. Very impressed with their service.

Dylan and Tate delivered two large sofas to my house and went to great lengths to get them into the house. It’s not and easy location but they were determined and eventually successful. They had to take the legs off and carry each one up a long and very steep driveway. Then they had to go up many steep steps and then hoist them up to a deck and over the railing to go in through the kitchen. Then they had to put the legs back on. They did all this with a great attitude! They were very polite, positive and friendly. The most interesting delivery I have ever had! They were great!

Working with Vicki R. and George to order our furniture was a breeze. Everything was delivered on time and in great condition. I was so impressed with Bryan and his crew that delivered our furniture. They protected walls, flooring and other furniture as they moved our new things into our new home. We were very pleased with our entire experience with Blowing Rock Furniture Gallery and would highly recommend.

First time in Neaco. I wanted to say hello to the owners but they were with customers. I visited during WinterFest so the store was pretty packed. Stopped by here this past Friday with my husband. This was the best store we stopped at in blowing rock! If you go nowhere else to shop, make sure to check them out. They had some unique gifts that were amazing— a lot of dolly parton, golden girls and good vibes. Store owners were so friendly and helpful! 10/10

When purchasing 2 refills, among other new candles, last year we were told they would call when the candles were ready and that they would always be here when we were ready to get them. Well they lied. Went to pick up the candles today, even though we never received a phone call, and the women (I assume an owner) was beyond difficult and refused to give us what we paid for. Laughed in our faces. Told us it was our fault they didn’t have our items. She even said, “We haven’t even called the people from this year at all.” What ever happened to customer first? I even provided proof of the purchase. We will never shop there again. Thanks for ruining my husbands favorite scented candle that used to bring our home so much joy.

One of my favorite spots in NC. Just the store alone is super cute with all the candles and little decorations, but they also offer candle making/carving! It’s such a cool experience, everything smells so good, and the staff is wonderful. You get to keep the candles you make too! It’s something that you don’t get to do everyday. Plus you get to learn a disappearing art while supporting a beautiful small business.

High Country Candles is a great shop in the heart of Blowing Rock. They make everything themselves so be prepared to be blown away with local talent. Their selection and quality is outstanding. The candles, display holders, pottery, etc. are fabulous and their staff is wonderful. You may even see them in action if you are lucky.

VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!!! Two years ago my family visited High Country Candles and we all loved the shop. My daughter purchased a candle specifically that could be exchanged for a discount on a new candle if returned. We were not able to return last year due to the hurricane. Which brings us to this year... for two years she saved the candle. She was looking forward to returning to your shop and sharing with you that she had remembered and hadn't shopped for other candles but came specifically to your shop only to be told that you had discontinued the exchange policy on that style candle. Not that we don't understand, we do. But at the very least, a thank you for returning to your shop would have been appreciated.

Love love love this place!!! The staff is always so friendly and it's really cool to watch them carve candles. Their fragrances are excellent, they have multiple for every season! They also have a refill program if you bring back your empty clean jars :) we've been coming here for years and just love it!

Saw this little guy at the store and had to take him home. Stopped by with my wife while visiting Blowing Rock and was graciously greeted by a lady? Maybe owner? Lots of neat little things to look at. Ended up getting a family of snowman candle as well but this ghost candle was the highlight of my trip.

High Country Candles has been our families must visit place for the past 7 years when we visit the high country. The staff are always super friendly and always welcome you like you are family! The candles are amazing and high quality, and their new pottery is absolutely beautiful! We visited the store this week, and after a recommendation from one of the staff members we purchased the Maple Butter jar candle, and can not wait to fill our home with it's amazing smell! Larry and Cyndi and the staff of High Country Candles are the best! When in the Blowing Rock area, stop by this gem of a place.....you will not be disappointed!

The most down to earth (pun intended) mineral specimen and gem shop I've ever been to. The passion they have for their work and collections is infectious. In addition to a huge selection of jewelry and loose gemstones, they also offer lapidary services for those that want a custom gem cut just for them. I have many pieces by them and have never been disappointed. At the very least stop by and check out the real T-Rex skull they have on display.

Amazing place! Saw their display at Doc's Rocks and just had to visit! Jewelry or crystals - you want it, they have it. I've never been to a shop where you choose your own gemstone and a setting, but my 8yo was able to choose her birthstone and get it set into a lovely silver necklace. Staff/owners were very friendly and personable, treating us like family. I wish we had $1000 to spend here!

These guys are awesome. They spent a ton of time with me identifying a bunch of rough gem material I have had for years - all at no cost. Very knowledgeable and you can tell they love what they do. I highly recommend!

After obtaining some rough montana sapphires, I noticed one of them had a UV reaction and thought it would make an amazing facet. Even with its size, McCoy Minerals was able to get an amazing 5mm cut out of it! The result was beyond expectation

Honest the best gem and fossil store I've ever been in. This shop has such a wide variety of gems, minerals, and fossils and all and extremely fairly priced. The fossils range from big to small, the crystals of all colors, shapes, and sizes. You could spend hours in this shop checking out everything they have. The owner was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about the minerals in her store. She was so kind and friendly as we walked through the store. If you are looking for any kind of gems, minerals, or fossils you need to check this place out!

Found a ruby and garnet from Docs gem mine down the road. They suggested might be good to get facet cut and that they could be shipped home to me. McCoy Minerals made the process professional, friendly and easy. After they were cut I decided to get them set for necklaces. I explained what I was looking for and got multiple options. From mining to my mailbox in Fl took 2 weeks for affordable quality workmanship! Thank you so much! Absolutely beautiful 💜

Our first visit was today to this shop. Janelle was such a great help and offered so many choices and options for gift ideas. Made some purchases and left with a “we’ll be back”. Well worth the stop if you like forged metal items, candles, pottery and the list goes on.

Wonderful customer service and the store is beautiful and has so many amazing items to choose from. The pottery is all made from artist in North Carolina and they sell stunning Italian clothes. It's a nice store, but not as great as I had hoped. Some items were very unique, while others were a little more run of the mill. I felt like I was being watched and followed from the moment I walked into the store, which I didn't appreciate at all. Maybe they have a lot of shoplifters come through? I was very interested in a few different things, but I didn't feel comfortable being stared at while I shopped, so I ended up leaving without purchasing anything.

Blowing Rock town was very beautiful. City maintenance and shop decor operators should be very proud.

A must see shop in Blowing Rock. Beautiful pottery, high quality crafts, very creative clothing, distinctive one of a kind purses with natural materials. The shop is an excellent place to buy gifts for all ages. We were able to purchase for all of our children and grand kids. Something for everyone. The staff was happy and helpful.

Plenty of great gift options for different age groups. I didn’t have service so they kindly shared their WiFi with me. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area!

This store is what little kids dreams are made of. So wonderful to be able to go in a toy shop and have little ones explore. Brought such big smiles to everyone’s faces. Based on the previous reviews, I’m guessing there was some change in management/ownership at some point. I’ve been here a few times in the past year to purchase gifts, and the employees have been friendly and helpful. The store features a great selection of toys. It’s fun to look around. This was a unique little toy store that had so many games, toys and such to choose from. There were a few items that I found on Amazon for a couple of dollars cheaper but not enough to keep me from purchasing from this store. It was better than shopping at Amazon because you could actually see what you were getting. The sales person was awesome! I found an educational game for my grandson but wasn't going to buy it because I wasn't able to see if it was going to be the right type of game for his age group due to the fact that this particular game still had the wrapper on it. when I asked the sales person if she knew what it was like she said "Well let's just open it and see" and when I decided it was what I wanted I was going to take the one she unwrapped she said. "Take the unwrapped one. We'll just use this as a sample". I've never had anyone so helpful in a toy store. I will definitely go back and would suggest this store to anyone.

When we go into Blowing Rock we always stop in to see this store. Today we just had to buy 2 books. They have such a variety of items that we don’t usually see in other stores. Staff is helpful but they also let you walk around with hounding you with suggestions like some places do - I appreciate that. Definitely worth a stop.

So helpful. Needed a French butter keeper but they were out of the color I wanted. Offered to check the workshop and the next day it was waiting for me to pick up. I love it! Beautiful and useful!

I purchased a butter bell recently, and was excited to use it. While cleaning it with a sponge, the top broke off. No extraneous force was applied, which makes me think that the clay had not dried or been fired properly before glazing. I’m disappointed with the result of my purchase, but understand mistakes happen, especially with locally crafted pottery. I hope to hear from the owner about a remediation.

I bought the most beautiful little ring holder in store a while back and I absolutely love it! I haven't had the chance to go back to the store so I ordered the matching soap dish online. It arrived today and I couldn't be more pleased. They look wonderful together on my sink.Very well made. The staff in store are very sweet and helpful. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.

What a beautiful store with pottery that is lovely and useful. The Manager (sorry I didn't get her name!) was passionate about the store and very informative. We bought a piece in which you cook bacon. We've seen these numerous times over the years but couldn't believe they really work. The pieces in Bolick's are some of the prettiest ones we've seen. The Manager assured us they work perfectly and she loves hers. She said most people buy their first one with skepticism and then everybody on the Christmas list gets one. Today was like Christmas morning as we layed the bacon strips over the top rim of the bacon cooker, put it in the microwave, and watched it cook for 6 minutes. All the grease is in the bottom of the cooker, no splattering, and 8 pieces of perfectly cooked bacon. Now.....about that Christmas list! Can't wait to visit again! Also...the Shea Butter we got smells divine and is very moisturizing but quickly penetrates so it doesn't leave a greasy feel.

Very lovely pottery shop on the main drag in Blowing Rock. All hand made stuff at reasonable price. Picked up a Christmas gift as well as something for ourselves.

Staff/Owner was on the phone (speaker no less) discussing politics and trash talking conservatives. Also discussing her uterus and such in addition to other things I will not mention in this review. When my wife got up to counter she told the other called “got to go I have to take care of something” referring to helping my wife. Super rude and I am shocked this place is still in business. Would give it no stars if possible.

We planned our trip today to stop at this store. My son loved the music boxes and he wanted one when we came back in the area. On top of that we were going to buy a leather journal. The lady working was AWFUL. Complete attitude. The music boxes are not in order so we were looking at them trying to find the one he wanted and she got pissy because we were touching them. How can we tell what they are when they are all out of order without picking them up and reading them? Seriously - in a tourist town you need to know things are going to be looked at. We had also asked for her help with something and her attitude about that was crappy as well. I told her how we felt and we left not buying anything. So disappointing as well would have bought several items but now I won’t go back.

Cute shop with very interesting and unique merchandise. However, the lady who was working this morning was not very friendly and was constantly in our way. She treated us like we were potential shoplifters. We didn’t feel welcome. I wouldn’t go back if she was working there. We visited the store on 6/26/24 around 11:00 or so, maybe 11:30?

Great place for unique gifts and local art at reasonable prices. I was really impressed with the selection and surprised to see such reasonable prices in a town that looks so upscale. Don’t skip it! Just wish they had paper bags instead of plastic.

I must commend them on their outstanding customer service and due diligence to keep their customers and staff safe during these unprecedented times. A lot of thought went into the processes put in place to shop with confidence while in this quaint unique store. I got lost in this store for over an hour tasting their delicious oil and vinegars. I settle on black truffle oil and red wine balsamic vinegar which I can't wait to cook with!

Found the perfect wedding gift for my nephew and neice here after an incredible day hiking at Grandfather mountain. The owner overheard me being worried about my phone not charging and trying to find my lost purse which I had left in another store. She offered to charge my phone and help me contact the other store to retrieve my lost purse which I did find- which was untouched. We had a heart warming conversation during all of this, while my present was gift wrapped. My faith in warm , friendly and kind humans was restored. Love

We were visiting our son in Boone & made our way to Blowing Rock for some dinner before the ride back home. As a top Google Guide many businesses often collaborate with me & are thrilled for the exposure. I didn’t get the owner’s name but she says she has two shops in town. I can spend hours researching & writing the story for Google. I recently hit over 133 Million views on maps, inspiring curiosity & visits. I hope this write up helps. My favorite store in Blowing Rock!! My husband & I were there this past Saturday. I had so much fun trying on all the cool jeans. The owner ladies were so much fun and so sweet and helpful. I love my new jeans and can't wait to wear them!! I love my new sweater too! Even my husband doesn't mind being in this "girly" store because everyone is very friendly. I will definitely be back to shop next time we are in Blowing Rock :)

I spent a long time here because there were so many beautiful things to see. So many items were unique, things I had never seen before in all of my travels. I ended up choosing a gorgeous bracelet make of liquid metal and I have had nothing but compliments on it. The women who own the shop are helpful without being pushy. If you go, be prepared to spend some significant time!

Very nice, but won't alter anything but their own clothing. This doesn't help when you need to wear a specific suit for a wedding where everyone wears that same suit.

I was in the store two weeks ago. I loved their selection of men's clothes. Carol did a terrific job helping me coordinate a sport coat with different shirts. They are so much better than big box stores that don't understand their products, have the same appreciation for quality or listen to customers. I showed the coat to my father-in-law. He's calling to order one too.

Saw a nice jacket here. Same jacket was at Goodwill for $12. (?)

This wonderful couple lives out their passion of jewelry and furniture making, and it shows in the quality of their work. My husband bought a special gem stone, and we walked into to Gaines' store and within minutes we had a sketch of a completely custom-made, hand built ring. This is a one of a kind place for someone wanting a one of a kind piece that can be adored for generations. They are very warm and welcoming as soon as you walk in, and they take something like a intimidating skill and allow you trust them wholeheartedly. After a couple months, we picked up our ring today and it is so much better than expected. I was floored. Who knew we are so fortunate in this area to have such a down to earth, skilled artisan who creates works of art so naturally. Don't go anywhere else for jewelry! Highly, highly recommend you at least go meet them. We already have future projects lined up. Thank you Gaines for making our special ring a reality. And for sharing your hot peppers!

Cannot say enough good things about Carlos and his business. From the time we walked in we were welcomed and helped in our search for a rug that met our needs. Carlos and his assistant dedicated their time to showing us numerous rugs while educating is on the differences in the rugs. By the time we left, with a rug, we felt like old friends. Highly recommend anyone doing business here.

My family and I discovered this gem of a shop while vacationing this Summer in Blowing Rock. The rug selection is vast and everyone who works here is extremely knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. We purchased two large kilim rugs and one smaller one. The guys shipped all three along with rug pads to our home. Each was packed with care and arrived safe and sound. We are enjoying them now in our home!

What an amazing store! Very safe, great selection and they help you find the shapes and patterns you need to fit your space and budget. It took us a while to find the right rug for our living room, but we are beyond thrilled with the result! A great shopping experience, and an education besides.

The rugs were in tall piles on the floor. Since rugs are heavy, you can only see the top rug and the corner of the rugs *at the top* of the pile - it’s too hard to turn the upper rugs up to view the lower rugs due to the weight! They offer to help you view the rugs, but this is impractical, in reality, because how can you know if you want to see a rug if you can’t even see a corner of it? — you would need them to take every single rug from the pile so you can view each one. A more practical manner of displaying the rugs would definitely increase this business’s amount of sales! (Hanging them, like they do at Lowe’s, or having a catalog to look through in order to narrow down which ones you’d like them to pull out for you to view - organizing them by primary color would also help the customer know which piles to get help with.

We have been coming to Blowing Rock for 30 years. We always enjoy stopping at the Fig Leaf. Shelby and Mike are the nicest, friendly people who love their customers. I am always excited to find that awesome new outfit. I love the quality, uniqueness and styles!

I have been shopping at the Fig Leaf for the past three or four years. ( Age is playing games with me these days). Why, Fig Leaf? Simple, quality and uniqueness. I save my pennies and then try to get at least one outfit or substantial piece each visit. We are averaging three to four visits a years so as you can tell my pieces are starting to add up. Seriously, give them a try. If nothing else they will make you feel so good while you are visiting with them.

I have to say a huge THANK YOU to The Fig Leaf! A new purchase from The Fig Leaf was stolen out of our car along with many other things. GUYS. This place is a gold mine if you need a gift for your girlfriend/wife/mother/etc. and do not want to spend agonizing hours trying to find the right thing! We thought it was an authentic gym mining experience, but it was Gems and sand put in a bucket. We did get to pan in the indoor little river like area and we all got some really pretty gyms. The female employee that helped us was very nice and knowledgeable about all the gyms. She took the time to go through every gym that we had and explain each one to us. All in all we did have a good time and got so cool Gems to take home as souvenirs.

My daughter and her friend loved this place! There are so many gem mining places in this area but we're glad we stopped here. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Shout out to Nathan who sat patiently with us and identified any of the gems we had questions about, he was super knowledgeable and told us a lot of details about each one. They also have a small indoor mini golf course.

Expensive but fun and you get a lot of rocks and gems. I recommend getting the bucket I forgot its name but it’s the one that costs $100 it’s a good deal because instead of getting to large buckets you can get one huge bucket that’s 3x bigger than the large one.

Had a great time, took my 4 and 2 year old. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We found our gems then spent time identifying them with a staff member. We only did the gem mining. Cool little spot to visit and spend some time..

Wow we had a great time here. My kids were able to comb through the big bucket of rocks and each of them got special treasures. They also went through the extensive museum and saw really fantastic specimens of fossils, rocks, etc. The attraction has varying levels of pricing so everyone can participate to some extent. Great place for a few hours of inside fun

We stopped at Doc's Rocks on the way back from our vacation. Kids had a blast. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. lots to do , look at and touch. Good prices. The dinosaur museum up stairs was nice and well stocked, and given with a guided tour. I definitely will go back.

We had so much fun! The youngest kid got the emerald strike, and we got the mother load. We got some amazing stones. It was a neat experience for the kiddos. The fossil museum was the best in my opinion. The guy Chris who was in there had to tons of stories and really super cool information. We enjoyed his guidance on what to look at and history information.

You can see these outlet centers are struggling to keep tenants. They are convenient and even have a nice fire pit outside to keep warm. The stores offered good deals and enjoyed talking with staff at many of the stores.

This outlet mall used to be so good. Every storefront was full with a wide variety of brands but after covid, several left and it hasn’t been the same since. Still a nice place to visit, just doesn’t have the selection it used to.

Not the best selection of stores but you might find some good merchandise. The same corporation owns several brands represented here.

Typical Tanger. Lots of wonderful shoppes located in a great area. There aren't any restaurants. I visited the Sunglass Hut to get new sunglasses. They were having a sale.

This place is unique in the fact that I feel like I'm at the beach. Over priced items with massive discounts on less than walmart quality that are made in China . Cheep feeling . Not for me. JCPENNYS has a much better quality product.

I stopped by this coffee shop after seeing the great reviews. I got an Americano, an iced latte, and two cookies. The cookies were good, but I was really disappointed by the drinks. The Americano had way too much water…. it was honestly undrinkable, couldn’t have more than one sip (photo says it all), and the latte wasn’t great either :/ I didn’t finish it. 2 stars for the cute spot and the cookies.

This little spot tucked right on Main Street was the cutest! 🥹✨ The second we walked in, it smelled like warm cookies and fresh coffee—total comfort vibes. Blue Deer serves up handcrafted cookie ice cream sandwiches, coffee, and more. And the best part? You get to sample the ice cream before choosing (yes please! 🙌). We went all in with two amazing combos: 🍫 Double chocolate chip cookies + lemon crunch ice cream 🍋 🍓 Strawberry cheesecake cookies + peach ice cream 🍑 The flavors were super refreshing, the cookies were warm and chewy, and the whole thing just hit the spot. So good and sooo worth the stop. Cute, cozy, and 100% delicious….

This was our first visit to Blue Deer on Main. Molly & Ayden are the sweetest! I didn’t know this place offered ice cream, and not just any ice cream. It’s shocking what kinds of ingredients are in the popular brands!!!! So often times I ask shops where they source. Here they offer ice cream that is sourced from Homeland Creamery, family-owned and operated for multiple generations in Julian, North Carolina with sustainable farming practices. They believe in taking amazing care of their cows and happy cows = better tasting milk. I can tell you right now we will never go back to the other ice cream purveyors after tasting this! My husband picked out a double chocolate cookies and ice cream, and I went with the strawberry cheesecake & vanilla ice cream. Words cannot convey how delish this treat was! We’ll be visiting their Boone location too when we visit our son at App State. Something about this ice cream just tasted more real! Quiet coffee shop to stop at when the town is crazy. Great choice of seasonal favorites and everyday coffee satisfying all of your needs. They even have sweets and a few Ice cream choices to choose from. Apple cider was amazing on this cold day, peppermint mocha was also delicious!

1/15/2024 Enjoying a snowing outing today & wanted a coffee, and decided to try their cookies… My daughter got an ice cream sandwich, which looked lovely and tasted even better! Got a half a dozen cookies and my coffee & started walking down the street, had a bite of the cookies and immediately went back and ordered a dozen more! Thank you for being open today and for Aiden being helpful, We will certainly be back soon!

I usually don’t eat cookies as they are too sweet to my liking. But these cookies are really good and they taste better with the ice cream!

Oh!! The Meadowbrook!! It’s our favorite place in Blowing Rock to stay!! When we took to the Blue Ridge Parkway for our anniversary, Blowing Rock was home base, even though we live just an hour down the mountain from it. We found it last year, on our way through the final stretch of our trip and this year, we returned to make this spot OUR spot. The continental breakfast of fresh fruits, apple bakes, and an assortment of goodies made our mornings prior to take off a breeze. The in-suite pool was a great way to relax after a long day, in privacy! There was something quite magical about swimming on a whim late at night or early morning, without prying eyes around. The room itself - absolutely stunning! It had a small kitchen, living room with fireplace, a veranda with views of Blowing Rock, a separate bedroom with a massive king sized bed, and huge bathroom with a jetted bath. While we were out and about the majority of our time on vacation, this hotel’s presence had one heck of a way of welcoming us back. It felt like home. And a home we will more than likely return to as the years tuck on. When you find a good thing, every thing else is measured up to it and it just falls short. That’s exactly what this place is; Home - Away from home!

We had not stayed at the Meadowbrook for 15 years. The rooms were fresh and the service was outstanding. What nice front desk staff! The pool was exactly as freezing as I remember. It's pristine and I can see why it stays that way because it's absolutely too cold to swim. The breakfast is not worth it but they do have complimentary coffee in the lobby and there are plenty of places to eat in the area.

Lots of potential but just not enough in estment into the property. There are good parts and you will be fine staying here. This is for the Inn... The mold and musty smell has to be delt with. Given the age of the building, I'm sure this will be an investment. But this hotel could be incredible given it's location. The Internet wifi is no good. And Blowing Rock has awful cell coverage. So you really need wifi. It may not be the actual pipe to the internet, it could be the wifi access points and RF issue. Hirer someone and get it fixed. Wifi dropouts and slow download/upload speeds. Makes it difficult to use Google maps to find restaurants, etc. The mattress is way too hard. I did ask to move rooms because of it and they were very accommodating, so that was great service. I asked about getting an updated room and they said that all rooms have been updated. I was told the mattress were replaced 2 years ago (2023). I happen to see a date on the mattress the next morning because the fitted sheet came off. Picture is attached... They were off by 3 years. Breakfast is not that great. It's easy to go somewhere else with the awesome location. The place just needs more investment. It could be great!

Meadowbrook Inn is a well-maintained hotel close to everything downtown on the parkway. The Staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a full buffet of hot and cold food. And, there are plenty of places like the Toastery that are nearby if you want a personal breakfast before taking in the breathtaking scenery. And, dinner options close by too. We enjoyed our Suite which gave us plenty of room to enjoy our 3-day visit without feeling cramped. The room came with a small refrigerator and microwave, and hotel amenities were nice and added to our relaxing visit. Thank you for making this an enjoyable trip despite the on and off rain.

The Meadowbrook Inn is an interesting thing. It was apparently built some time ago and that shows. Everything is a little shabby and weirdly put together. We stayed in a suite for a wedding and the rooms, while spacious, had so many doors it was hard to find your way around. Lighting was TERRIBLE! The tub faucet leaked and the furniture was so uncomfortable. The breakfast was quite good. The public spaces were very institutional and a bit shabby. It didn't help that the elevator went out and we were on the 3rd floor! The Inn is an easy 10 minute walk to the heart of downtown Blowing Rock.

We had a good weekend visit. We found many pluses, including the staff (Zoe was especially helpful at the front desk), a good room with a very good shower, a location that was very central to the main business district, plentiful off street parking, tasty cookies in the afternoon in the lobby, and a nice breakfast that was included in the price. Some suggestions include the following. The towels are very scratchy. It would be nice to have softer ones. It would be nice if they separated their garbage at breakfast into recyclables. They use paper plates, and those could be recycled. All in all, we found our stay pleasant and would recommend this as a place to stay for others.

The location is marvelous, it's right in the middle of everything but feels more like being out in the country, which is so nice. At first it seems so pretty and luxurious, but the longer you're there the more that you realize is wrong with the building. It's very old, which could be really great, if it were well-maintained, but it's not. They seem to, sadly, be letting it fall apart and there's a lot of work that needs to be done. Our room didn't have a microwave, so we had to go down to the lobby to use that one, which was highly inconvenient. There was also a door in our room to connect to the room next door, with strangers, so that was a bit unsettling. There were ducks outside, near a pond, that you could feed with a complimentary pouch of food for them. The breakfast area was nice, with places to sit inside or outside. But they had the audacity to put a tip jar out at the "free breakfast", which is so extremely tacky and unprofessional. The food was rather disappointing as well, because of the lack of flavor/taste, just so bland. We visited September 2024.

I spent a considerable amount of time in this awesome store smelling the many spices, teas, and honey! The staff are really knowledgeable and friendly! I highly recommend that you go visit! Corinne’s suggestions for the various ways to use the spices were super helpful and I can’t wait to try them! She is amazing! I left with many goodies to try.

It's a cute shop with a great tea selection, but it's a horrible shopping experience. I was there for less than 10 minutes and had 4 staff members come explain things to me which was incredibly off-putting when I just wanted to browse and smell some tea in peace. I don't hold it against the staff personally, they were friendly and I'm assuming did it because they're required to, but it made me leave far sooner than I really wanted to.

What a great place! We were greeted upon arrival, and the employee showed us their most popular spice blends (which my partner bought some of the Tuscany blend). There were so many wonderful aromas. I’m an avid tea drinker, and the selection was bountiful; I ended up getting a trio of different wellness blends, as well as a fancy infuser bottle that I cannot wait to try out. I thought it was neat that they also had recipe cards along with some of the spices. Everyone was friendly. I will definitely come back when in the area next. Keep up the great work, ladies!

Great place to get shoes. Alex and Brian are both caring and knowlegable Human beings. I am very particular and demanding of my hikers and highly recommend the Blowing Rock location.

Service beyond expectation. Brian has managed this location for over 15 years and is very knowledgeable about the products and what is best for each individual. I highly recommend this place and the prices are reasonable too. You just can’t place a dollar amount on excellent service.

She also recommended two hikes for us which were new to us, even after coming here for the last 20 years...both were amazing. The shoes were also amazing in that I didn't even care about my feet anymore.

I have been to 5 different shoe stores in Boone and Blowing Rock and this store was by far the best. The manager seemed to have a lot of experience fitting and measuring and went into much more detail than anyone else did. This store also carries some amazing top-tier boot brands that you'll be hard-pressed to find anywhere else around here, like Salewas.

Service goes along way. Product Knowledge is superior from the management here at Footsloggers. Always helpful and their prices are fair, especially the sales. I highly recommend Footsloggers for your hiking and camping gear/ needs. Brian goes the extra mile for you.

Beautifully designed boutique. Although, this was a ladies shop, they have equally well designed men’s store too. The owner is kind and very friendly and that reflected equally well on the staff too. Highly recommended.

Nothing but angels surrounding this piece of heaven. This little shop is one of my most favorite places to visit each time my husband and I travel to Blowing Rock. I cherish the memories that flood my heart for Take Heart.

What a beautiful store! I immediately felt peace as I walked through the door. The tree out front with prayer requests was a reminder to lift your cares to the Lord, and pray for eachother.

If you want a nice gift for yourself or someone else you probably can find a great item here, if not then just come in for a world famous hug either way you will leave a very happy person. Also if you need a place to just get away from the crowds to just think or have a moment alone stop by there little hide away on the right side or the store perfect place to hide even if it is only for a moment.

This place use to have what they call a prayer tree. I had recently bought a new camera so I went back to take pictures upon arrival I noticed I couldn't find the tree so I went to a restaurant near by and one of the servers explained to me that the prayer tree had burned down. But what a great little town to visit people are friendly and the atmosphere of the town is awesome.

This place has seen a lot. Used to be the cutest little purple house with a wonderful prayer garden. Unfortunately, they had a fire, so now Sherri has set up down the street in the Ice House. Her stuff is wonderful and so encouraging. She always remembers all her customers and would love to hear your story! Please support her so she can reopen <3

One of the most horrible experiences I have every had. Would never step foot into that store again. If they were giving things away for free I wouldn’t take it. Poor management not friendly at all. I would recommend you skip this place.

The staff was extremely genuine and helpful. I myself have worked in a similar retail store to Vera Bradley and I was extremely impressed with how the staff were very helpful but not pushy. Specially, I was able to speak with an associate (I didn’t catch her name, but she had short hair and was working Easter Sunday). She could have not been more hospitable; she was very sweet to me even when I was looking at a little pill box, and then also very nice when I can back for a bigger purchase. This is what makes a great sales person to me. Overall it was a great experience and the associates contributed to that. I was also impressed with the price of my products and spent less than I expected. I cannot rave on the associate that helped me enough.

Love love this Vera Bradley location! I've been in some others where the staff "hover" or are almost pushy, but I love this one. The staff are helpful and kind. There's always a great selection and great prices!

Such fun looking a great merchandise. There were great finds; I had to force myself to a limit of 5 items. The cashier and other store workers were very helpful and friendly. If I am in the area again soon, this will be a must stop in my itinerary.

Fun store. Glad we found it. Inventory changes frequently so if you see something you like buy it because it may not be there tomorrow. Staff was helpful but also let us check out the store without hounding us like some other places.

We dropped off very quality items (about $5000 new). They claimed to have sold them or donated. Received a $40 check. When we went out there, a lot of our items were still for sale. They threatened to call the police when we inquired. Never got the second check we were assured we'd get. I'd go 0 stars if that was an option. Entitled is the best adjective I can use. Cluttered, and owners were rude, incompetent, deceitful. Audit them and see what happens.

Nothing is as amazing and well priced as the unique pieces at MacHouse. We moved into our forever home in Blowing Rock one year ago and I cannot tell you how many pieces we have purchased at MacHouse. In fact my husband built me an additional room onto our home just to fill it with incredible pieces. The ladies are wonderful and go out of their way for me every time whether it’s helping me choose items, photographing items, giving me design advice or just simply being good friends.

Love to go to this store. A lot of very nice furnishings, rugs, pictures, accessories. I always find something.

We stop in here every time we are in town. Usually more than once incase we missed anything. We’ve bought many things over the years and the ladies in there are just so much fun and full of life. It’s just a fantastic place to shop.

They have nice items. Good place to take a look when in town, never know what you will find. For BR residents good place to furnish home if moving to area or to dispose of excess if moving away or downsizing.

One of the dog toys on display was $45 (and that was the one they recommended we buy after we were asked about what we were looking for). We got a single stuffed Monkey with one squeaker for $26 before tax. That's a huge mark up compared to prices online and at other pet stores.

Disappointed. :( I was so excited to stop by with my new rescue...I knew the shop had been in town for a couple years.....The lady in there was really nice - and gave Vega a treat - but there was almost no inventory. And the things they did have were insanely priced. The giant treat display/island that takes up a quarter+ of the store - most bins were empty. and they only had 1 of most things they had - and after a little research, it seems they don't have wholesale accounts because everything I looked at was about 210% of MSRP. (this would also explain only having 1 of every toy since wholesalers generally dont let you order singles of ANYTHING) We spent $85 just because we wanted the things - and it was more about the experience with the new rescue than the prices..... However we would have bought a lot more had the prices been fair. For example - a basic water bowl we walked out with for $35 is $17 anywhere online, plus they had their "Large" bowl tagged as an XL..... and the 8-10" owl toy I wanted to get her was $52 dollars! I found it on petsmart, the manufacturers website, chewy, and everywhere else for $24. Maybe they do a lot of business in fancy dogfood....but I didnt see any, or other customers. Kinda seemed like a tax write-off for their other location(s) that I learned about after studying my receipt - that did not say "Stella Blues". Just my personal opinions and review. I know Blowing Rock well.
