This is quite a historical place with a display of different artifacts and precious items from Scindia dynasty. The room with 560 kg gold decorated in it is the highlight of the monument. The palace has been maintained properly and is hygienic due to fewer crowds visiting the palace. The palace is located at the heart of the city and usually takes around 1-2 hours to view all the parts of the palace cum museum. The palace is huge and provides the visitor glances of different Indian kings and queens who came into acquaintance with the Scindia family. The palace is owned by the Scindia family and different parts of the entire palace have been opened to visitors by converting them into museum with a nominal fees.

Worth a visit! Ticket prices are high, but you get to see a lot of artefacts, historical sculptures and much more of the royal Scindia family. The place is clean and well kept, it is huge.

SIMPLY NOT WORTH THE PRICE. Ticket is a full Rs: 400/- [350 for entry & 50 for mobile]. U can't roam the whole palace or gardens, only 1 section of 4 are open to the public. The money goes to over staff the palace with guards & attendants. U can see atleast 100% overstaffing. U learn how 1 family gathered the wealth of a whole nation of people, giving them huts to live in, while it lived in these palaces. No, I am not socialist. Instead there are 2 nominally priced museums run by the ASI at gwalior fort, 1 at gujri mahal & another at man singh mahal which u can visit instead. Jai Vilas Palace is a stunning museum that shows the royal life of the Scindia family. Visited again after many years. While the number of animals has reduced compared to before, it’s still well-maintained and a great place for kids. Peaceful environment, clean pathways, and enough to keep young ones engaged. A must-visit spot if you’re in Gwalior.

I've been there for the first time. I believe they are trying to do their best for the animals they have. Foreigners need to pay 200INR, but it's a reasonable price.

Wonderful place that has great sculptures that were sculpted into the hill side rocks. Jain tirthankar statues within caves. Need to leave your footwear at the base of the hill near a Jain temple and then climb up a flight of stairs up to the caves. There is also a Bawli (natural spring water well). The beautiful statues were disfigured by invaders.

Builders engraved the jain trithankar statue with in the hill. It's a must visit place to understand the skills we had in history and to remind to build strong and secure state so that no one can't destroy our heritage.

There are 5 different groups of Jain monuments located at these hills,Gopachal is one of them. Most of these monuments are carved out during 14th to 15 th centuries by local Jain worshippers ,by the permission of Tomar/parmar rulers who were ruling Gwalior at that time. The statues of tirthankrs are very beautiful,in standing and sitting position.you should have knowledge of Jainism to if you wish identify the specify tirthankar to which statue is dedicated. The most of the statues face were destroyed by various attackers mostly by Babur as statues was against his religious ideologies. Even the statues are not having faces,these monuments are capable to awestruck any visitors. This site is located near phool bagh area of Gwalior. This site is maintained by Jain community and seen as religious place by them.Thus you have to remove shoes and climb around 100 steps to visit this site ,even socks are not allowed. Entrance is free of cost. Site open from sunrise to sunset. 45 mins are required to visit this place.

Best view is from atop the Gwalior Fort! Built by Man Singh Tomar for the ninth Queen Mrignayani (milkman’s daughter), this महल is now the state archaeological office as well as a museum mostly of sculpture obtained from a radius of 100 kms. Mostly Shaivite sculptures. Some sculptures have a narrow beard which reminds one of Egyptian pharaohs! Lots of dancing गणेशs. Some Buddhist and Jain sculptures. The building itself is beautiful. Approach road is narrow. Small parking available.

Originally a residential palace built for queen of Tomar ruler,now housed a well organised,beautifully maintained museum administrated by government of madhya pradesh. This museum has very rich collection of objects related to art ,culture,architecture and sculptures belonging to different eras ranging from 2nd century BC to more recent Scindia time. Entry ticket to museum cost Rs 20 The museum has 20 galleries and also a courtyard that displays numerous objects . The sculptures displays pillar capital of Ashokan period.Fragments of stupas belonging to Buddhism.Various deities of Vedic religion such as surya,Agni ,Kubera etc. It also displays various inscriptions,coins,paintings ,weapons and not what. One of the best museum which is to be visited. At least 1.5 hrs required to enjoy the richness of Indian history.

Gurudwaras are always a divine experience and a blessed feeling. This one also is no exception, you feel calm and blessed inside. Although the Guru sevaks here looked slightly angry and I can understand their anger, the people of Gwalior behave so that anyone can become angry. But otherwise, everything was wonderful, loved it, even the langar prasad was also very tasty. It is there till 3 PM.

Visited Gurudwara Data Bandi Chhod Sahib, Gwalior during my stay at IIITM. The place radiates peace and devotion — beautifully maintained and spiritually uplifting. We had langar there at noon, and it was a humbling experience — simple, delicious food served with so much warmth and love. Sitting inside the gurudwara, listening to the kirtan, and feeling the calm around was truly soothing. A must-visit if you’re in Gwalior, not just for the spiritual vibe but also for the sense of community it offers.

Visited Gurudwara Data Bandi chor Sahib during Oct 2024. situated in Gwalior associated with the imprisonment of Guru Har Govind sahib 6th Nanak Guru in Gwalior Fort and his celebrated release in 1619, with the 52 rajas (Kings), which has been imprisoned. It's been constructed in white marble. There is Guru ka langar vast dining hall.This is best rated for cleanliness. It's sacred place for Sikhs, pilgrims from all over the country.

Amazing Palace built by Italian Architect in approx 1cr in that time, which is valued approx 10 lac cr today including all its valuable artifacts ! The food train table is simply amazing bought from aboard in that time have SCINDIA , if u pick up SC compartments then the train stops, leaving INDIA. The King was fascinated by tigers, loved hunting down tigers n snakes. Have 11 foot tiger in his collection. The Master Twin Chandeliers standing tall, are the highlight of the palace. It took 8 full Grown elephants to stand on the roof to check if it can take the weight of both the Chandeliers. Rest there are many more treasures which u may explore on your own...

Interesting museum located in the palace which shows the history of the royal family. You can see many artifacts ranging from furnitures to weapons. We had a guide bring us through the museum which made it a lot easier to understand.

And the silver train is one of the main attraction point of the table which serve food. The table is too long in length.

Very big and amazing mela you can buy and see alot of things. It consists of lot of rides and eateries to eat food and there is a lot of exhibitions as well of various car brands like a BMW, Mercedes etc. In my opinion it is probably one of the biggest Mela in Madhya Pradesh region It usually starts in December and and send February spanning around 3 months

Beautiful place ruined by absolutely no maintenance. Parks and swings are in pathetic conditions. Fish of the pond are mostly dead and some were floating in about the death stage. Entry is free. Crowdy place, mostly college couples roaming around or hiding in corners/shades, makes visit a bit awkward.

It was just ok ok experience, wave pool was not working due to technical snags and rides were without proper equipments. Overall they have 3 pools but only one is actually for adults. Although we can always enjoy in pools as some people love to be in the water.

The behavior of the staff is very rude, especially the Manager at reception is very rude, rooms are Good but providing very late services( committed 15 rooms at 9am and provided till 1pm). Don't believe on Hotel Manager words . He will change in front of you. Not Good even for small function.

Was a very average guest house. when we checked in have to ask for basic amenities like soap and towel. But staff responded to it quickly. Room was very minimalistic, as we were expecting some proper facilities and service because we booked deluxe room. Rooms were clean and staff was very helpful and polite. At end of our stay they allowed us to keep our language at reception till evening and let us sit at reception for another 1-2 hours as our train was late. Perfect for bachelors.
